This paper presents the control for Shunt Active Power (SAPF) filter in photovoltaic (PV) systems connected to the grid. The proposed configuration of the system consists of a photovoltaic array that connected to the grid through the three-phase inverter topology that also serves as an active filter. Photovoltaic is coupled in parallel with the direct curret (DC) side of the active filter. With this configuration, can be obtained three advantages, namely the elimination of harmonic currents caused by nonlinear load, reactive power injection, and injection of active power generated photovoltaic. The p-q Theory is used to calculate the harmonic reference current to be used to control the active filter coupled fotovoltaic in generating anti-harmonic currents. The results show that system can reduce harmonic distortion from THD 27.22% to be THD 1.05%, whereas when the active power from photovoltaic injected, the THD become 2.01%. Power sharing can also be seen from this study.

A non-isolated tri-port converter is a fully compact and functional system by the integration of basic converters. This can be used for renewable energy applications. This converter is capable of achieving different switching patterns of power flow between the source and load, interfaced sources of various voltage and current levels with the dc grid. This tri-port converter has to be used for continuous power distribution of rechargeable battery, photovoltaic panels and load. Due to the implementation of this dc-dc converter some operations like buck, boost and buck-boost operations became easy. Use of this converter helps in easy implementation of the system. The solar PV panel implementation boosts the system to a high level and bidirectional flow became easy from source to load and vice versa.
A Single-Phase Dual-Stage PV-Grid System with Active FilteringIAES-IJPEDS
Integrating photovoltaic based electricity into the grid and power quality
improvement have become two major issues in electrical system. Formerly,
these can be solved by using two converter systems separately, a PV-Grid
System and an active power filter. But recent technology uses only a
converter system to do both function. An existed shunt active power filter
(SAPF) can be modified to form a dual-stage PV-Grid with active filtering
capability. In this paper, a PV-Grid System that is capable to transfer all
power generated by PV modules and reduce harmonic contents is proposed.
The system was formed by connecting a boost chopper as a Maximum Power
Point Tracker and PV modules to the DC-link capacitor of a single-phase
SAPF. It just needed a current transducer and also required simpler control
circuits. A voltage controller was needed to achieve power equilibrium while
a current controller was needed to make the grid current sinusoidal with unity
power factor. To verify the analysis, simulations and experiments were done.

In this paper, the design of combined operation of UPQC and PV-ARRAY is designed. The proposed system is composed of series and shunt inverters connected back to back by a dc-link to which pv-array is connected. The fundamental aspect is that the power electronic devices (PE) and sensitive equipments (SE) are normally designed to work in non-polluted power system, so they would suffer from malfunctions when supply voltage is not pure sinusoidal. Thus this proposed operating strategy with flexible operation mode improves the power quality of the grid system combining photovoltaic array with a control of unified power quality conditioner. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is used in both three phase four leg inverters. A Proportional Integral (PI) and Fuzzy Logic Controllers are used for power quality improvement by reducing the distortions in the output power. This paper presents a stand-alone hybrid renewable energy system (SHRES) consisting of solar photovoltaic (PV), wind turbine (WT) and battery energy storage (BES) in an effort reduce the dependence on fossil fuels. The renewable energy sources have individual inverters and the PV inverter of the SHRES is operated using active and reactive power control. The PV inverter have two main control structures which are active power control and reactive power control and each contain a proportional integral (PI) controller. Accurate control of the PV inverter’s active power is essential for PV curtailment applications. Thus, this paper aims to enhance the performance of the SHRES in this work by optimizing the performance of the PV inverter’s active power PI controller parameters through the design of adaptive controllers. Therefore, an adaptive controller and an optimized adaptive controller are proposed in this paper. The performances of the proposed controllers are evaluated by minimizing the objective function which is the integral of the time weighted absolute error (ITAE) criterion and this performance is then compared with a controller that is tuned by the traditional trial and error method. Simulation results showed that the optimized adaptive controller is better as it recorded an error improvement of 42.59%. The dynamic optimized adaptive controller is more adept at handling the fast changes of the SHRES operation.
A NOVEL CONTROL STRATEGY FOR POWER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT USING ANN TECHNIQUE FO...IJERD Editor
The proposed system presents power-control strategies of a Micro grid-connected hybrid generation
system with versatile power transfer. This hybrid system allows maximum utilization of freely available
renewable energy sources like wind and photovoltaic energies. For this, an adaptive MPPT algorithm along with
standard perturbs and observes method will be used for the system.
The inverter converts the DC output from non-conventional energy into useful AC power for the
connected load. This hybrid system operates under normal conditions which include normal room temperature
in the case of solar energy and normal wind speed at plain area in the case of wind energy. However, designing
an optimal micro grid is not an easy task, due to the fact that primary energy carriers are changeable and
uncontrollable, as is the demand. Traditional design and optimization tools, developed for controlled power
sources, cannot be employed here. Simulation methods seem to be the best solution.
The dynamic model of the proposed system is first elaborated in the stationary reference frame and
then transformed into the synchronous orthogonal reference frame. The transformed variables are used in
control of the voltage source converter as the heart of the interfacing system between DG resources and utility
grid. By setting an appropriate compensation current references from the sensed load currents in control circuit
loop of DG, the active, reactive, and harmonic load current components will be compensated with fast dynamic
response, thereby achieving sinusoidal grid currents in phase with load voltages, while required power of the
load is more than the maximum injected power of the DG to the grid. In addition, the proposed control method
of this paper does not need a phase-locked loop in control circuit and has fast dynamic response in providing
active and reactive power components of the grid-connected loads.
Generally, Electronic Load Control (ELC) used in micro hydro power plant (MHPP) to controls the voltage between consumer load and a dummy load, still detects one parameter voltage or frequency generator only. Whereas in reality, any changes in the load on consumers, generator voltage and frequency also changed. When the consumer load down the electric current will be supplied to the dummy load, amounting to decrease in consumer load. When there is a transfer load, there will be distortion voltage and frequency, thus a special methods to reduce distortions by speeding up the process of transferring the electric load is needed. The proposed of this study is using fuzzy logic algorithm. To realize such a system, a comparison tool model of load control digital electronic fuzzy logic controller (FLC) and Proportional Integrator (PI) is required. This modeling using matlab program to simulate, the simulation result shows that the ELC based on fuzzy logic controller is better than conventional PI control, it seen from fast response to steady state condition.

This paper proposes a fuzzy logic-based battery energy management system in hybrid renewable system. The novel topology consists of solar and wind energy system-based input sources and a battery bank to store the energy when in excess. The PV-Wind source is equipped with unidirectional boost converter whereas, the battery storage system is connected to the system with a bi-directional DC/DC converter. The main novelty of this research is the fuzzy logic-based battery management system which charges and discharges into the DC bus system based on the supply-load demand. The fuzzy logic controller (FLC) based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is used in the PV and wind energy conversion system (WECS) to track the maximum available power for the different irradiance and wind velocity respectively. The obtained results are compared to conventional P&O MPPT control algorithm to find the effectiveness of the system. A 500 W PV system and a 500 W Permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) based WECS is implemented for its simplicity and high efficiency. The proposed control topology is designed and tested using MATLAB/ Simulink.

Dynamic Modeling of Autonomous Wind–diesel system with Fixed-speed Wind TurbineIJAPEJOURNAL
Wind turbines have often connected to small power systems, operating in parallel to diesel generators, as is typically the case in autonomous wind–diesel installations or small island systems with high wind potential. Hence, the modeling and analysis of the dynamic behavior of wind–diesel power systems in presence of wind power will be important. In this paper, the system under study is modeled by a set of dynamic and algebraic equations (DAE). Dynamic behavior of a wind-diesel system is investigated by the proposed dynamic model. Wind-diesel system consists of wind turbines that are connected to synchronous diesel generator via short transmission line with local load. Dynamic stability of autonomous wind–diesel systems are discussed with emphasis on the eigenvalue analysis and the effective parameters on system stability. In this regards, saddle node bifurcation and hopf bifurcation are also investigated.

Site Acceptance Test for Solar PV System of Bronzeville Community MicrogridPower System Operation
With the increase in penetration of variable renewable energy generation, power systems encounter new challenges in supply-load balance. Microgrids, as small-scale power systems with local control and islanding capability, provide a viable solution for this challenge through leveraging their inherent flexibility. ComEd is developing an urban community microgrid in the Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago, called Bronzeville Community Microgrid (BCM) that will investigate this challenge in a practical setting. This paper presents analyses pertaining to site acceptance test (SAT) for the solar PV system. The SAT is required to ensure that the installed microgrid operates smoothly in different conditions, and, moreover, that the protection and communication units are capable of controlling the PV and battery systems perfectly.

Line and Grid Impedance Impact on the Performances of a Parallel Connected Mo...IAES-IJPEDS
With the rising fuel cost, increasing demand of power and the concerns for global climate change, the use of clean energy make the connection of power electronics building bloc in the heart of the current research. The high output current applications make the parallel connection of modular inverters to be a solution for the use of low power building block inverters where the output power cannot be handled by a single inverter configuration. In this context, average-modeling using average phase–leg technique allows the n-parallel connected inverters to be analyzed accurately and rapidly without requiring the complexity of the full switched inverter topology. The obtained analytical solution along with the equivalent circuit model makes easier the design of the control loop. The analytical solution of the n-parallel connected inverters shows the impact of the line and grid impedance on the performance of the overall system. The impact of this coupling has to be investigated such that the main feature of paralleling inverters is guaranteed and that the inverter mode of operation will not be compromised. The main advantage of paralleling inverters can be lost for a certain coupling impedance considerations.
In a distributed generation system, divers renewable agents are connected to the low voltage 3 phase utility grid by an inverter which is used as power condition and must assurance the higher efficiency of the renewable agent. To achieve this level of efficiency, a unitary power factor between the utility grid voltages and the inverter currents is necessary, and a synchronization algorithm is required for the perfect synchronization between the 3-phase utility grid and the renewable agent. The aim of this paper is to present the optimization of the performance of a Synchronization controller for a 3-phase photovoltaic grid-connected system, assessing its accuracy under different conditions and studying their drawbacks and advantages. A grid connected photovoltaic system with a nominal power of 5 kW is used so as to assess the behavior of the synchronization algorithm when the 3 phase utility grid is affected by some disturbances such as voltage unbalances.
A Hybrid Control Scheme for Fault Ride-Through Capability using Line-Side Con...Suganthi Thangaraj
As the wind power installations are increasing in number, Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) are required to have Fault Ride-Through (FRT) capabilities. Lately developed grid operating codes demand the WTGs to stay connected during fault conditions, supporting the grid to recover faster back to its normal state. In this paper, the generator side converter incorporates the maximum power point tracking algorithm to extract maximum energy from wind turbine system. A hybrid control scheme for energy storage systems (ESS) and braking choppers for fault ride-through capability and a suppression of the output power fluctuation is proposed for permanent-magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) wind turbine systems. During grid faults, the dc-link voltage is controlled by the ESS instead of the line-side converter (LSC), whereas the LSC is exploited as a STATCOM to inject reactive current into the grid for assisting in the grid voltage recovery. A simple model of the proposed system is developed and simulated in MATLAB environment. The effectiveness of the system is validated through extensive simulation results

Comparative of Conventional and Intelligence Controller based Hybrid Generati...IJERD Editor
Harmonic pollution of the power supply system has risen significantly in recent years due primarily
to an increase of non-linear loads connected to the utility through residential, commercial and industrial
customers. This paper, proposed a solution to eliminate the harmonics introduced by the nonlinear loads in
steady and in transients. It presents a predictive current control strategy for achieving maximum benefits from
these grid-interfacing inverters implementing conventional DC link controller and intelligence controller, when
installed in 3-phase 4-leg voltage source inverter (VSI). The inverter is controlled to perform as a multi-function
device by incorporating active power filter functionality. The use of a four-leg voltage-source inverter allows
the compensation of current harmonic components, as well as unbalanced current generated by three-phase
nonlinear loads. Renewable energy resources (RES) are being increasingly connected in distribution systems
utilizing power electronic converters. The compensation performance of the proposed active power filter and the
associated hybrid PV/Wind system generation scheme with new control scheme is demonstrated to improve the
power quality features is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
Adaptive Fuzzy PID Based Control Strategy For 3Phase 4Wire Shunt Active Filte...IJERA Editor
This paper presents a new control strategy for controlling the shunt active power filter to compensate reactive
power and to reduce the unwanted harmonics in the grid current. Shunt active filter act as a current source which
is connected in parallel with a non-linear load and controlled to produce the required compensating current. The
proposed control strategy is based on the fuzzy PID controller which is used for determining the reference
compensating currents of the three-phase shunt active power filters. Simulations are carried out using
MATLAB/SIMULINK to verify the performance of the proposed controller. The output shows the controller has
fast dynamic response high accuracy of tracking DC voltage reference and robust to load parameters variations

Implementation of a Voltage Multiplier based on High Step-up Converter using FLCIJMTST Journal
A Front end of the Photovoltaic Solar Panel is been proposed based on Step-Up Converter. The use of
distributed energy resources is increasingly being pursued as a supplement and an alternative to large
conventional central power stations. The specification of a power electronic interface is subject to
requirements related not only to the renewable energy source itself but also to its effects on the power-system
operation, especially where the intermittent energy source constitutes a significant part of the total system
capacity. Implementing a voltage multiplier module, an asymmetrical interleaved high step-up converter
obtains high step-up gain without operating at an extreme duty ratio. The voltage multiplier module is
composed of a conventional boost converter and coupled inductors. An extra conventional boost converter is
integrated into the first phase to achieve a considerably higher voltage conversion ratio. The two-phase
configuration not only reduces the current stress through each power switch, but also constrains the input
current ripple, which decreases the conduction losses of metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistors.
In addition, the proposed converter functions as an active clamp circuit, which alleviates large voltage spikes
across the power switches. Finally, the simulation circuitry with a 40V input voltage and 230V output voltage
is operated to verify its performance analysis with respect to the Fuzzy Logic Controller. The highest
efficiency is 97.75%.
Enhancement of Power Quality in Grid Connected Photovoltaic System Using Pred...rahulmonikasharma
Now- a days the increased use of power electronic devices has resulted in power quality problems such as voltage sag, swell, harmonics and voltage flicker. Non-linear loads affect system power quality. PV systems are grid connected via an interfacing converter. Single phase shunt active power filter (APF) can be used to develop the power quality in terms of current harmonic mitigation and reactive power compensation. In this paper a PV interfacing inverter which acts as a shunt an APF is controlled using predictive current control (PCC) technique for current harmonics mitigation. The MATLAB Simulink model is used to study the performance of system.

Comparison of PI and ANN Control Techniques for Nine Switches UPQC to Improve...MABUSUBANI SHAIK
Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive review on the UPQC to reinforce power quality. Typically this can be often speculated to gift a broad outline on the varied possible intelligent controls used with UPQC. The most purpose of a UPQC is to control on voltage flicker/unbalance, reactive power and harmonics. In different words, the UPQC has the potential of up power quality at the purpose of installation on power industrial power systems. The appliance of computing is growing quick within the
space of power electronics and drives. From olden days to now days we are using twelve switches used in back to back configuration. But now we are using nine switches instead of 12 switches. In 9 switch UPQC converters given the most useful benefits compared to 12 switches power converter. The nine switches UPQC converter gets the best results by using of two methods. They are one is PI controller technique and other one is ANN controller technique. By contrast PI and ANN, ANN is better than PI for power quality enhancement and voltage sag and voltage swell mitigations. The factitious neural network
(ANN) is taken into account as a replacement tool to style management electronic equipment for power-quality (PQ) devices. A whole simulation study is administrated to analysis the performance of the ANN controller and compares its performance with the quality PI controller results. The nine-switch convertor has already been proved to possess sure benefits, additionally to its part saving topological feature. Despite these benefits, the nine-switch convertor has thus far found restricted applications because of its several perceived performance tradeoffs like requiring associate degree outsized dc-link capacitance, restricted amplitude sharing, and unnatural part shift between its 2 sets of output terminals. Rather than acceptive these tradeoffs as limitations, a nine-switch power conditioner is projected here that nearly ―converts‖ most of those topological short comings into
fascinating performance benefits. Aiming more to cut back its switch losses, Harmonics, Voltage Sag & Swell associate degree acceptable discontinuous modulation theme is projected and studied here thoroughly to doubly make sure that top reduction of commutations is achieved. With associate degree suitably designed management theme with PI and ANN with physical
phenomenon controller then incorporated, the nine-switch convertor is shown to favorably raise the general power quality in Simulation, thus justifying its role as an influence conditioner at a reduced value.

Voltage Support and Reactive Power Control in Micro-grid using DGIJMER
Distribution Generators(DGs) are the renewable energy resource which can be connected to
the grid. When it is connected to the grid it should be operated with controlled voltage and reactive
power control. And in autonomous mode(i.e disconnected mode) it should operate in backup generation
mode. These DGs are connected towards the micro grid operation. The proposed control system
facilitates flexible and robust DG operational characteristics such as active/reactive power (PQ) or
active power/voltage (PV) bus operation in the grid- connected mode, regulated power control in
autonomous micro-grid mode, smooth transition between autonomous mode and PV or PQ grid
connected modes and vice versa, reduced voltage distortion under heavily nonlinear loading conditions,
and robust control performance under islanding detection delays. Evaluation results are presented to
demonstrate the flexibility and effectiveness of the proposed controller
A Novel Technique for Enhancing Active and Reactive Power Quality for Renewab...IJMER
Renewable energy resources (RES) are being increasingly connected in distribution systems utilizing power electronic converters. This paper presents a novel control strategy for achieving maximum benefits from these grid-interfacing inverters when installed in 3-phase 4-wire distribution systems. The inverter is controlled to perform as a multi-function device by incorporating active power filter functionality. The inverter can thus be utilized as: 1) power converter to inject power generated from RES to the grid, and 2) shunt APF to compensate current unbalance, load current harmonics, load reactive power demand and load neutral current. All of these functions may be accomplished either individually or simultaneously. With such a control, the combination of grid-interfacing inverter and the 3-phase 4-wire linear/non-linear unbalanced load at point of common coupling appears as balanced linear load to the grid. This new control concept is demonstrated with extensive MATLAB/Simulink simulation studies and results.

A Novel Method for Prevention of Bandwidth Distributed Denial of Service AttacksIJERD Editor
Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attacks became a massive threat to the Internet. Traditional
Architecture of internet is vulnerable to the attacks like DDoS. Attacker primarily acquire his army of Zombies,
then that army will be instructed by the Attacker that when to start an attack and on whom the attack should be
done. In this paper, different techniques which are used to perform DDoS Attacks, Tools that were used to
perform Attacks and Countermeasures in order to detect the attackers and eliminate the Bandwidth Distributed

Influence of tensile behaviour of slab on the structural Behaviour of shear c...IJERD Editor
-A composite beam is composed of a steel beam and a slab connected by means of shear connectors
like studs installed on the top flange of the steel beam to form a structure behaving monolithically. This study
analyzes the effects of the tensile behavior of the slab on the structural behavior of the shear connection like slip
stiffness and maximum shear force in composite beams subjected to hogging moment. The results show that the
shear studs located in the crack-concentration zones due to large hogging moments sustain significantly smaller
shear force and slip stiffness than the other zones. Moreover, the reduction of the slip stiffness in the shear
connection appears also to be closely related to the change in the tensile strain of rebar according to the increase
of the load. Further experimental and analytical studies shall be conducted considering variables such as the
reinforcement ratio and the arrangement of shear connectors to achieve efficient design of the shear connection
in composite beams subjected to hogging moment.
Gold prospecting using Remote Sensing ‘A case study of Sudan’IJERD Editor
Gold has been extracted from northeast Africa for more than 5000 years, and this may be the first
place where the metal was extracted. The Arabian-Nubian Shield (ANS) is an exposure of Precambrian
crystalline rocks on the flanks of the Red Sea. The crystalline rocks are mostly Neoproterozoic in age. ANS
includes the nations of Israel, Jordan. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Yemen, and Somalia.
Arabian Nubian Shield Consists of juvenile continental crest that formed between 900 550 Ma, when intra
oceanic arc welded together along ophiolite decorated arc. Primary Au mineralization probably developed in
association with the growth of intra oceanic arc and evolution of back arc. Multiple episodes of deformation
have obscured the primary metallogenic setting, but at least some of the deposits preserve evidence that they
originate as sea floor massive sulphide deposits.
The Red Sea Hills Region is a vast span of rugged, harsh and inhospitable sector of the Earth with
inimical moon-like terrain, nevertheless since ancient times it is famed to be an abode of gold and was a major
source of wealth for the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt. The Pharaohs old workings have been periodically
rediscovered through time. Recent endeavours by the Geological Research Authority of Sudan led to the
discovery of a score of occurrences with gold and massive sulphide mineralizations. In the nineties of the
previous century the Geological Research Authority of Sudan (GRAS) in cooperation with BRGM utilized
satellite data of Landsat TM using spectral ratio technique to map possible mineralized zones in the Red Sea
Hills of Sudan. The outcome of the study mapped a gossan type gold mineralization. Band ratio technique was
applied to Arbaat area and a signature of alteration zone was detected. The alteration zones are commonly
associated with mineralization. The alteration zones are commonly associated with mineralization. A filed check
confirmed the existence of stock work of gold bearing quartz in the alteration zone. Another type of gold
mineralization that was discovered using remote sensing is the gold associated with metachert in the Atmur
Desert.
Reducing Corrosion Rate by Welding DesignIJERD Editor
The paper addresses the importance of welding design to prevent corrosion at steel. Welding is
used to join pipe, profiles at bridges, spindle, and a lot more part of engineering construction. The
problems happened associated with welding are common issues in these fields, especially corrosion.
Corrosion can be reduced with many methods, they are painting, controlling humidity, and also good
welding design. In the research, it can be found that reducing residual stress on the welding can be
solved in corrosion rate reduction problem.
Preheating on 500oC and 600oC give better condition to reduce corosion rate than condition after
preheating 400oC. For all welding groove type, material with 500oC and 600oC preheating after 14 days
corrosion test is 0,5%-0,69% lost. Material with 400oC preheating after 14 days corrosion test is 0,57%-0,76%
lost.
Welding groove also influence corrosion rate. X and V type welding groove give better condition to reduce
corrosion rate than use 1/2V and 1/2 X welding groove. After 14 days corrosion test, the samples with
X welding groove type is 0,5%-0,57% lost. The samples with V welding groove after 14 days corrosion test is
0,51%-0,59% lost. The samples with 1/2V and 1/2X welding groove after 14 days corrosion test is 0,58%-
0,71% lost.

Active Power Exchange in Distributed Power-Flow Controller (DPFC) At Third Ha...IJERD Editor
This paper presents a component within the flexible ac-transmission system (FACTS) family, called
distributed power-flow controller (DPFC). The DPFC is derived from the unified power-flow controller (UPFC)
with an eliminated common dc link. The DPFC has the same control capabilities as the UPFC, which comprise
the adjustment of the line impedance, the transmission angle, and the bus voltage. The active power exchange
between the shunt and series converters, which is through the common dc link in the UPFC, is now through the
transmission lines at the third-harmonic frequency. DPFC multiple small-size single-phase converters which
reduces the cost of equipment, no voltage isolation between phases, increases redundancy and there by
reliability increases. The principle and analysis of the DPFC are presented in this paper and the corresponding
simulation results that are carried out on a scaled prototype are also shown.
Mitigation of Voltage Sag/Swell with Fuzzy Control Reduced Rating DVRIJERD Editor
Power quality has been an issue that is becoming increasingly pivotal in industrial electricity
consumers point of view in recent times. Modern industries employ Sensitive power electronic equipments,
control devices and non-linear loads as part of automated processes to increase energy efficiency and
productivity. Voltage disturbances are the most common power quality problem due to this the use of a large
numbers of sophisticated and sensitive electronic equipment in industrial systems is increased. This paper
discusses the design and simulation of dynamic voltage restorer for improvement of power quality and
reduce the harmonics distortion of sensitive loads. Power quality problem is occurring at non-standard
voltage, current and frequency. Electronic devices are very sensitive loads. In power system voltage sag,
swell, flicker and harmonics are some of the problem to the sensitive load. The compensation capability
of a DVR depends primarily on the maximum voltage injection ability and the amount of stored

Study on the Fused Deposition Modelling In Additive ManufacturingIJERD Editor
Additive manufacturing process, also popularly known as 3-D printing, is a process where a product

Unlike conventional manufacturing processes where material is removed from a given work price to derive the
final shape of a product, 3-D printing develops the product from scratch thus obviating the necessity to cut away
materials. This prevents wastage of raw materials. Commonly used raw materials for the process are ABS
plastic, PLA and nylon. Recently the use of gold, bronze and wood has also been implemented. The complexity
factor of this process is 0% as in any object of any shape and size can be manufactured.

Application of Buckley-Leverett Equation in Modeling the Radius of Invasion i...IJERD Editor
A thorough review of existing literature indicates that the Buckley-Leverett equation only analyzes
waterflood practices directly without any adjustments on real reservoir scenarios. By doing so, quite a number
of errors are introduced into these analyses. Also, for most waterflood scenarios, a radial investigation is more
appropriate than a simplified linear system. This study investigates the adoption of the Buckley-Leverett
equation to estimate the radius invasion of the displacing fluid during waterflooding. The model is also adopted
for a Microbial flood and a comparative analysis is conducted for both waterflooding and microbial flooding.
Results shown from the analysis doesn’t only records a success in determining the radial distance of the leading
edge of water during the flooding process, but also gives a clearer understanding of the applicability of
microbes to enhance oil production through in-situ production of bio-products like bio surfactans, biogenic

Gesture Gaming on the World Wide Web Using an Ordinary Web CameraIJERD Editor
- Gesture gaming is a method by which users having a laptop/pc/x-box play games using natural or

with the help of open source technologies. Emphasis in human activity recognition is given on the pose
estimation and the consistency in the pose of the player. These are estimated with the help of an ordinary web
camera having different resolutions from VGA to 20mps. Our work involved giving a 10 second documentary to
the user on how to play a particular game using gestures and what are the various kinds of gestures that can be
performed in front of the system. The initial inputs of the RGB values for the gesture component is obtained by
instructing the user to place his component in a red box in about 10 seconds after the short documentary before
the game is finished. Later the system opens the concerned game on the internet on popular flash game sites like
miniclip, games arcade, GameStop etc and loads the game clicking at various places and brings the state to a
place where the user is to perform only gestures to start playing the game. At any point of time the user can call
off the game by hitting the esc key and the program will release all of the controls and return to the desktop. It
was noted that the results obtained using an ordinary webcam matched that of the Kinect and the users could
relive the gaming experience of the free flash games on the net. Therefore effective in game advertising could
also be achieved thus resulting in a disruptive growth to the advertising firms.

“MS-Extractor: An Innovative Approach to Extract Microsatellites on „Y‟ Chrom...IJERD Editor
Simple Sequence Repeats (SSR), also known as Microsatellites, have been extensively used as
molecular markers due to their abundance and high degree of polymorphism. The nucleotide sequences of
polymorphic forms of the same gene should be 99.9% identical. So, Microsatellites extraction from the Gene is
crucial. However, Microsatellites repeat count is compared, if they differ largely, he has some disorder. The Y
chromosome likely contains 50 to 60 genes that provide instructions for making proteins. Because only males
have the Y chromosome, the genes on this chromosome tend to be involved in male sex determination and
development. Several Microsatellite Extractors exist and they fail to extract microsatellites on large data sets of

new capabilities such as self-healing, high reliability, energy management, and real-time pricing. This new era
of smart future grid will lead to major changes in existing technologies at generation, transmission and
distribution levels. The incorporation of renewable energy resources and distribution generators in the existing
grid will increase the complexity, optimization problems and instability of the system. This will lead to a
paradigm shift in the instrumentation and control requirements for Smart Grids for high quality, stable and
reliable electricity supply of power. The monitoring of the grid system state and stability relies on the
availability of reliable measurement of data. In this paper the measurement areas that highlight new
measurement challenges, development of the Smart Meters and the critical parameters of electric energy to be
monitored for improving the reliability of power systems has been discussed.
Study of Macro level Properties of SCC using GGBS and Lime stone powderIJERD Editor
One of the major environmental concerns is the disposal of the waste materials and utilization of
industrial by products. Lime stone quarries will produce millions of tons waste dust powder every year. Having
considerable high degree of fineness in comparision to cement this material may be utilized as a partial
replacement to cement. For this purpose an experiment is conducted to investigate the possibility of using lime
stone powder in the production of SCC with combined use GGBS and how it affects the fresh and mechanical
properties of SCC. First SCC is made by replacing cement with GGBS in percentages like 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and
by taking the optimum mix with GGBS lime stone powder is blended to mix in percentages like 5, 10, 15, 20 as
a partial replacement to cement. Test results shows that the SCC mix with combination of 30% GGBS and 15%
limestone powder gives maximum compressive strength and fresh properties are also in the limits prescribed by
the EFNARC.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Abstract:- Distributed generation (DB) systems came into existence due to the need for integration of various
power generation plants. In order to interact with such systems power electronic converters are widely used. In
this paper, we study single-phase inverterfor interfacing with DG systems that need certain features pertaining to
quality such as reactive power compensation. When the DG unit functions are integrated with devices like single
- phase inverter, it gets equipped with power filter capabilities. Thus the power flow can be controlled from the
energy sources that are renewable. The converter also helps in load current harmonic compensation. The
proposed control scheme comprises a repetitive controller, instantaneous reactive power and sinusoidal signal
generator that depend on current reference generator. We built a prototype application that simulates the proof
of concept. The empirical results revealed that the proposed scheme is feasible and effective.

INTRODUCTION
Of late, there have been constant hikes in oil prices. Due to this conventional power generation systems
are becoming costly. To cope with this, people started using many alternative energy resources. In this context
one can see different kinds of power generation plants. When such plants are able to work together renewable
energy is possible. Thus the concept of distributed generation (DG) of electricity has become very important
area in the research circles. There are plenty of power sources including photovoltaic panels and other means
[1], [2], [13]. The DG has changed how the power systems work. It has empowered people to use plethora of
types of power generation strategies and combine them to a common power grid. This concept is known as
distributed generation of electricity. The DG has many advantages including providing reliable power supply,
reliability in power distribution and reduction of emission of green house gases. In addition to this the DG
bestows many power quality benefits [4]. With renewable energies, the cost of power generation and
distribution goes done so as to enable systems to distribute power for affordable prices. As all industries depend
on power supply, the research with respect to renewable energy sources has assumed much importance in
modern times. Besides providing plenty of benefits, the DG also increases production that will have its positive
impact on the industries and society in general.

2. A Novel Power Quality Control Strategy in DG Systems with Single-Phase Inverter
As can be seen in figure 1, it is evident that the distributed generation of power has improved
productivity besides enhancing reliability and reducing the cost of power supply to industries and households.
The energy sources have various characteristics with respect to outputs. There are some inverters which are
commercial that can operate when connected to grid. They work either normal mode or grid-connected mode
[5], [6].When they are connected to grid, the reference current is calculated from the reference active power [7].
Figure 1 uses local nonlinear loads in order to integrate power quality functions. Filtering features are equipped
with single-phase inverter with the help of active power filters (APF). Thus the active power flow is controlled
by the inverter and compensates with reactive power. The APF can also be integrated with single phase
converters need certain techniques that are to be adapted to single-phase systems. The remainder of the paper is
structured as follows. Section II provides review of literature. Section III provides the proposed system. Section
IV presents experimental results while the section V concludes the paper.

RELATED WORKS
Power distribution systems have been around right from the inception of producing power. Recently we
came to know many types of generation of power. These energy generation techniques paved the way to
generate renewable power. Thus the Review of literature helps in p
In the literature various solutions are found to work with APFs. These solutions are capable of
computing harmonic extraction task [8], [9], [10], [11], [12], [13], and [14]. The methods explored in the
literature pertaining to APF based solutions, are of two types. They are direct and indirect methods. There is
some theories association with these solutions. They are known as synchronous reference frame (SRF) [9], [10],
[11], and [12]theory and instantaneous reactive power(IRP) theory [13], [14], [15]. For the purpose of finding
reference current the controller known as proportional – integral (PI) is used [16], [17]. Out of the solutions the
SRF and IRP are the most important techniques that were explored in the literature. Three-phase systems
featured these strategies originally. However, they can be used with other systems as well.
In case of three – phase systems both SRF and IRP operate with two different orthogonal axes. In case
of single phase systems, a fictitious variable is used where 90 degrees shift is used as part of solution. Thus from
a single variable it is possible to generate two variables. This will allow the applications of the theories such as
SRF and IRP. Hilbert transform [13] is used to compute such imaginary variables. This has resulted in a system
which is non casual and thus it can’t be implemented directly. However, it is useful to known approximation
using finite-impulse response (FIR) which is a filter [8]. Alternatively IRP can be integrated with another
technique known as sinusoidal as proposed in [18]. As inverter is used as an active filter as of now the current
harmononics compensation features are operated. In this paper complete features have been experimented with
respect to DG and integration with single-phase inverters with respect to the current harmonics compensation. A
dedicated inverter scheme is also proposed in this paper using FIR filter approach. From the computational
perspective the proposed scheme is very effective.
III.
THE PROPOSED INTERTER CONTROL SCHEME
The inverter control scheme proposed in this paper has enhanced features for power distribution
quality. Moreover the inverter is designed in such a way that it works with DG systems. This will help in
improving quality power distributions. The inverter control scheme is shown in figure 2.

3. A Novel Power Quality Control Strategy in DG Systems with Single-Phase Inverter
As seen in figure 2, it is evident that the reference current generator is responsible to generate inverter
reference current. The controlling process is based on a repetitive controller. The reference current generate
takes inputs such as iL(non-linear load current), VPCC(PCC voltage) and p*in order to generate i*F(inverter
reference current) that is further used by current control component. SSI filter is used by reference current
generation scheme which is presented in figure 3.
Fig. 3 –Reference current generation scheme
As can be seen in figure 3, it is evident that the SSI filter, reactive power calculation, current calculation, are
part of the reference current generation scheme. For the load current SSI filter has been applied. The SSI filter is
used to generate reference currentas discussed in this paper earlier. The structure of SSI filter is as shown in
figure 4.
Fig. 4 –Overview of SSI filter
Two SSI filters are used to generate fundamental reference current. The filters are mathematically deduced as
follows.
Finally a current control scheme is used to control current based on repetitive controller. To be more
flexible enough we used fuzzy controller for this. The fuzzy logic controller is more flexible for the purpose
when compared with conventional PI controller. The following section provides experimental results.

CONCLUSION
In this paper we study distributed generation (DG) systems that enableintegration of multiple power
generation sources or plants to a common grid. We use a single-phase inverter for DG systems for the
experiments in order to improve power quality in such systems. The quality features studied include reactive
power compensation and harmonic power compensation. The SSI filter is used by the current reference
generator. Experimental are made with a grid-connected single-phase inverter that can inject power into the grid
in order to compensate local load reactive power besides the local load current harmonics. The strategy followed
for the experiments integrate the power quality features into the proposed scheme. We built a prototype
application that demonstrates the proof of concept through simulations. The results are encouraging.
