This document presents the design of a hybrid series active filter (HSAF) aimed at harmonic reduction and reactive power compensation in single-phase systems, showcasing its components and control techniques. The proposed method utilizes discrete Fourier transformation for effective harmonic extraction, leading to simulation results that demonstrate a total harmonic distortion (THD) reduction to 2.75%. The findings suggest that the HSAF is a cost-effective solution, making it suitable for high-power applications while enhancing power quality.
