How Did Michelle Obama Influence Us
Influential Inspires
There are still many causes worth sacrificing for, so much history yet to be made. Many people have
inspired or influenced America but Michelle Obama has influenced America ever since she was
younger. Michelle LaVaughn Obama was born on January 17,1964, in Chicago, IL, to Fraser C.
Robinson III and Marian Shields Robinson. As a child, Michelle grew up in a household where her
father was always at work, and her mother stayed home to do household duties. Attending Chicago s
public schools, Michelle Robinson studied sociology and African American studies at Princeton
University. After graduating college, Harvard Law School, Michelle joined the Chicago Law firm,

into an elite college. Michelle states, The fact that I was a girl, and that I was black, well that certainly
didn t help things either. Michelle struggled doing homework in a little apartment on the Southside of
Chicago, in tiny rooms with a twin bed and one little desk. Michelle use to wake up at 4 in the

Symbolism In The Birthmark By Nathaniel Hawthorne
As the last crimson tint of the birthmark that sole token of human imperfection faded from her cheek,
the parting breath of the now perfect woman passed into the atmosphere, and her soul, lingering a
moment near her husband, took its heavenward flight (Hawthorne 13). In 1843, Nathaniel Hawthorne
wrote The Birthmark, a tragic and unexpected short story. In the beginning of The Birthmark, Alymer,
a man of science, marries a young beautiful woman named Georgiana. One day Alymer noticed a
mark on Georgiana s cheek, and over time his obsession with the thought of removing it scientifically
caused the death of his wife. Therefore, in the short story The Birthmark, by Nathaniel Hawthorne,
Alymer pushes the scientific boundaries too far and his experiment is unjustified.
In the nineteenth century, the religion in America, was mainly Christianity. Before Christianity, there
were the Puritans, they believed that it was necessary to be in a covenant relationship with God in
order to redeem one from one s sinful condition, that God had chosen to reveal salvation through
preaching, and that the Holy Spirit was the energizing instrument of salvation (Britannica). The
Puritans also believed in predestination, which means God knew the future of the person the day they
were born. Predestination tied in with John Calvin s theory as well. After Puritanism and Calvinism
came along Christianity, which is more than a belief in Jesus Christ. This belief gives a structured

Body Image Of Women
Body image pertains to judgement about themselves or about their body perspective. But, what do you
expect when the media is covered in pictures of perfect models and celebrities? Women s self esteem
is lowering because they look at these women in comparison to themselves and they do not like the
difference between the two, which leads them to belief that they need to change themselves. The
media has gotten way out of hand with body image, and not in a good way. Women believe that the
thinner person is widely accepted, but not too small of course because then you will be thought to
have an eating disorder, leading to insecurities. Women feel like in order to post a picture to the media
they have to look perfect in it because they are insecure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Models can get a bunch of things worked on to make them appear to be perfect. They can get surgeries
that can fix any flaws that they have. If they hate something about themselves they can pay someone
to fix their flaws. They can get their body parts fixed and they can change anything and they can
improve their perspective of themselves. Magazines can also photoshop and edit pictures to make
people look better than they actually look. They can change what their hair looks like, what their eyes
look like, and their teeth too. They can change heir body shape to make their body figure look better.
Women do not realize that people can change a picture pretty fast and make them look like someone
different. They can edit their photos but they cant always change what their make up and hair color
and everything else looks like because all of the good apps cost a lot of money and require brains and
style to be able to function the app. Women want to be compared to women in a model status and one
day wish they could look like them but if someone as myself could learn how to photoshop pictures
then I would show women that I could change them as fast as other people can change those models
that they look up too. Women body image has horrible out looks on women. It gives them insecurities
and believes that they need to be someone else that they clearly are not but they think they needed to

The Great Artists Of The Conceptual Art Movement
When one thinks of Art the most popular image is of great works, famous for their visually pleasing
and intellectually rousing qualities. These works, aside from being visually and intellectually
stimulating, have been used to challenge and encourage an audience to think about what it s
representing in flexible and open minded ways, this is usually done by shocking the audience out of
their complacency when viewing artworks. The great artists of the Conceptual Art movement
especially emphasised this by focusing more on the concept behind a piece than the art itself. Three
particular artists that are famous for challenging audiences with their work include Marcel Duchamp
(1887 1968), Jenny Holzer (1950 present) and Ai WeiWei (1957 present). Even though these three
artists are part of different times, countries, political and cultural movements, they all use their works
to confront and challenge every part of their audience including critics, the media and the general
public.
Marcel Duchamp is widely considered as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, his
early works saw him in the Post Impressionist movement however his want for art to be in the service
of the mind saw his move away from that style of art. He was a French, sculptor, painter and writer
whose work is associated Dada and with being the precursor to conceptual art. Duchamp spent nearly
his whole art career challenging his audiences to think about what art really is. His critical

Hag Seed Analysis
Unexpected occurrences take place that are negative, and these might be things which one does not
have control over. Authors often use internal struggles as a mental imprisonment that one much
conquers in order to achieve their full potential. In Hag Seed, Felix is backstabbed, kicked out of his
job as the director of the Makeshiweg theater festival, and put on his journey to prove to those who
betrayed him that they were wrong but most importantly he has to show himself that he can overcome
the harsh obstacles of failure and rejection. The psychotic break Felix suffers after his termination, and
Miranda s death, motivates him to direct The Tempest, which ultimately heals him.
With the acceptance that his career, in his mind, is over, Felix leaves the theater and consumed with
revenge. Humiliated, he retreats from society. Alone in a tiny hut, he mourns his lost little girl,
Miranda, who died not long before he was ousted from his position, and he plots his revenge on his
replacement, Tony Price. Refusal to tackle the situation head on leads to a path of self wallowing.
Felix s mind is clouded with possibilities of how he can hurt Tony because forgiving takes more work
and effort. He starts to realize that his spying is a little deranged, though only a little (Atwood 44).
With hopes of bettering himself, Felix searches for a job hoping to gain control back to his life. He
could not have found a more suitable position. He starts his own theatre with the inmates who are

all I Know Is What I Read In The Papers
quot; All I Know Is What I Read In The Papers quot; Will Rogers
There have been many criteria over the past few centuries that measured one s political clout and
influence: divine right, property, money, and acquaintances. In the twentieth century, particularly the
past two decades, the political power to influence others resides in information: the more information
you have and the more you know how to use it, the more potential influence you have. People rely on
the media for their information, as it is the most easily accessible, efficient, and passive way of
acquiring knowledge. Unfortunately, the media is not completely reliable as it can and has been

This statement is an attempt to manipulate not only the voter who will take the time to read the
reasons in smaller print, but also the voter who only glances through the paper as their attention is
caught, even if it is only for a second, to the bold type and the powerful finality of the statement.
These are examples of direct use of advertisement to sway voters decisions. There is a more indirect
method as well where politicians use the news media to try to convey their message and hope the
news will air or print it.
During the National Referendum campaign the quot;No quot; side relied on this factor more than the
quot;Yes quot; side did. In a Globe and Mail article before the vote, the reporter regurgitated what
Judy Rebick had said about the quot;Yes quot; side being quot;top heavy with politicians, government
types, and opinion leaders quot;(6), and how the public respects the quot;No quot; side as it is
quot;something that comes from the grassroots quot;(7). Similar to the National Referendum, the
Quebec Referendum also followed the same guidelines set out by the Referendum Act concerning
media advertising allotment. The only difference was that the advertisement was localized to

Exotic Pets Are Unique And Unusual Pets
Exotic pets are very rare and unusual pets, that are usually they are some sort of rodent, reptile, or

auctions, stores or online and is a multi billion dollar player in the criminal industry.. Some owners

No Arabic in and English Class
1.0 Introduction
According to the ministry of education in Kuwait it has always been a sin when teach ers use Arabic in
an English class, even if it is to clarify a certain aspect that students could not grasp. Well, whether we
like it or not, Learners of L2 tend to use L1 when learning the target language, this argument has been
proven by a number of re searchers (Atkinson, 1987; Auerbach, 1993; Cook, 2001; Nation, 2003), and
ignoring it or pretending that it is not happening might lead to pedagogical implications.
Decision makers in ELT unit in the Ministry of Education, who adopt the notion that us ing Arabic
when teaching English is a taboo , have to hear the other voice that considers the use of L1 when
teaching L2 is very helpful and works to facilitate the learning process.
Hence, the current research comes to shed light on the importance of using L1 when teaching L2 and
how we can utilise it and use it as a useful tool. Also this research will try to change the common
notion that using Arabic in English class is a deficiency.
1.1 Aims of the study
This study aims to provide a better understanding for the use of L1 when teaching L2, and how this
could be in the favour of facilitating the learning process for the students, and it should no longer be a
forbidden zone . The study also aims to high lights the improvements that could be achieved by
utilising Arabic in ELT class.

In your own words, describe the purpose of the operational plan and its relationship to the strategic
plan. The purpose of the operational plan is to focus on shorter term objectives usually within 1 up to
3 years. For plans of 2 to 3 years, a more detailed breakdown of shorter timeframes should be included
within the body of the document. An operational plan provides detailed information on planning,

Assessment activity 3 In your own words, explain why key performance indicators (KPIs) are an
important part of the operational planning process. KPIs can be broken down by acronym; by focusing
on the importance of each component of a Key Performance Indicator it will become apparent of the
role the KPI plays in the operational plan. Key when it is of fundamental importance in gaining
competitive advantage and is a make or break component in the success or failure of the plan. An
example only by measuring the shelf space gained by a drinks manufacturer they can measure the
growth achieved this can be measured on a short term basis indicating success or failure over the plan
period. Another example for a gaol, it may be to reduce the amount of lockdowns or assaults over the
plan periods this can then provide information in relation to the implementation of absence policies for
staff and intervention programs for inmates to achieve predetermined benchmarks. Relating to
Performance when it can be clearly measured, quantified and easily influenced by the organisation or
governing body. Indicator if it provides leading information on future performance. It is impossible to
establish a KPI without a clear understanding of what is possible so it must be possible to set upper
and lower limits of the KPI

Application For A Management Job
In this case I am about to apply for a management job. One of the requirements for the job is that I
have to be proficient in CAD, but at the time of the application I m only taking classes for CAD. So
the question is, do I still apply knowing that I am not fully qualified for the job. To answer this, we
first need to weigh the facts. First I am more than qualified for the job besides the slight fact that I am
not yet proficient in CAD. So, what s the problem? Well it comes down to ethics. In this situation the
primary stakeholder is the company I am applying for, and that forces me look at the situation and
make a decision. I got two options one lie and say I am proficient in cad, or tell the truth. I know it
sounds like the answer is simple enough right? Just tell the truth right? Well not necessarily. Even
though I am not proficient in CAD, I am still much qualified for the job. So I would still apply for the
job, because I m in the class so I would be ready for the job once I get it. I know the ethical thing to do
is turn down the opportunity for the job, but the question is what would I do. So that why I would
choose to apply for the job. Case 2:
In case 2 I am a supervisor on a design project. I am well aware of the NCEES code rule, which states
that every component of the design project has to be signed and sealed by the engineer who created it.

Essay on 3-D Displays in the Marking Process
The use of 3D display in the marketing process plays a big role in sales and brand awareness. To make
brand awareness, a company needs a way to draw attention to their product and set itself apart from
the rest. That brand want the consumer s eyes to fall on its product only. One way to showcase their
product is to use 3D display which will give them a marketing advantage over their rivals.
Why 3D display? 2D display is amazing at giving preview of the product before a customer before he
or she buys it, however 3D display revolutionise where 2D left off by adding depth and perspective to
the product. 3D display will let the consumer try the product and buy it and then he or she will trust

Thus boosting sales without the hassle of advertising because people will talk about what s new.
The placement of products is the key in order to be noticed. If the product is place strategically,
marketing for the product is going to be really effective. To do this, consider the layout of the space.
Space gives way for the people to see the product up close without distractions. Customers are
sometimes in a rush and when they go inside the store, they will have to find the product quickly. For
those customers, they need plenty of space to get to the product and quickly figure out if it is the
product they need without any interferences from other products. Placing items that are popular on the
shelf at an eye level is also important because that would be the first thing that customer sees. For
example, in case of a forgotten Valentine s day and the customer needs to buy a last minute gift, he or
she will drop into the store to get one. If the first thing the customer sees on his or her radar is a 3D
display of organized chocolate boxes or bears that says Happy Valentine Day or Be Mine then it
would be more likely that the consumer will head to that location first. With no time to browse, the
items on the eye level will be the one to go first. Pressed for time, the consumer would most likely
pick the item up. Depending on the outcome later on, the

necessary for any Middle School student. At my age and younger, students have a tendency to be

assignments and my grades suffering. I know I am not alone in this struggle against clutter and
forgetfulness. Critical thinking classes provide a student with structure, study skills and the art of

boring and torturous, it could be viewed as an opportunity to put the skills learned in their Critical
Thinking class to the test. There would also be less problems waking up and therefore making it to
class on time. No more napping in class, instead students would be note taking and teachers would see
the increased enthusiasm in their class. The teachers would be motivated to work even harder to teach
their students all they can. Why would teachers want to teach if they know that the students couldn t

help the students learn even more than what is specified in the curriculum. Regular and advanced
students would surpass any of the other schools. The school would work at least ten times more
efficiently and productively. Everyone would be enthusiastic and successful in school. Mr. Principal if
adding a class could determine whether your school is average or above average, would you take the
chance? The skills learned in Middle School Critical Thinking classes would have a lasting impression

Abortions Should Be Illegal In The United States

Abortions should be illegal in the United States. Abortions have been occurring since the 1800`s. They
were banned in the 1880 s except to save the life of the women. However, the Supreme Court ruled in
1973, in the case Roe vs Wade that abortion is legal in the first trimester. I disagree with this ruling
because it is morally wrong. Secondly, every human being must be responsible for their actions. Lastly,
there are many options available to prevent becoming a parent. We have to right to decide when we
want to become a parent, but not if it involves terminating another human life. Human life begins at

Examples Of Social Outcasts In To Kill A Mockingbird
Prejudice and social expectations are the main cause of social outcasts and unfair treatment. In the
novel To Kill a Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee, many examples of unfair treatment and social
outcasts are used. Constantly, themes of prejudice and social expectations are accurately displayed by
creating outcasts in society and relying on pre judgments to judge behavior. She also accurately
displays the fact that not all people in the South during that time were prejudiced.
Social expectations are a strong aspect of the town of Maycomb in To Kill a Mockingbird. Many
outcasts are created using these expectations. In the story, the Radley s are viewed as a very odd

One example is the immediate arrest of Tom Robinson, an African American man who was accused of
raping a white woman. When Robinson was arrested the sheriff, Heck Tate, showed no mercy and did
not second guess himself. Prejudice is showed in this moment because Robinson was not questioned
at all when he was arrested, but if he had been white the demeanor would change. To further prove
that it would have a different outcome if Tom Robinson was white, Lee incorporates a quote that
recalls the time when Tate refuses to put a white man behind bars. The sheriff hadn t the heart to put
him in jail alongside Negroes... (Lee 14). Since the Sheriff hadn t put a white man who needed jail
time in jail because he would be surrounded by those of the opposite race, it shows a prejudice the
town had against African Americans. This is because it took no time at all to arrest Robinson, but
when I came down to a man of his own race, it became emotional and socially incorrect. Another
example of prejudice is when the town pre judges Mr. Dolphus Raymond as an evil man. As Mr.

Raymond is a man who was supposed to get married to a white woman, but was also having sexual

Essay On School Lunch Program
Over 100,000 schools have adopted the National School Lunch Program since its launch in 1946 by
then president Harry Truman. It was orgininally designed to provide low cost, healthy lunches at a
reduced cost and was relatively effective. Lately however, since first lady Michelle Obama fueled a
massive overhaul of the program shortly after her husband took office stripping the meals of so called
unhealthy content and started to require the School Lunch act to meet minimum nutritional standards...
This federal program has become too much about controlling what students eat vs. its content and it
needs to be changed. Ever since first lady Obama rolled out the new guidelines in 2010, there has been
a severe backlash from not just students, but from parents and lawmakers alike. For the past few years,
the program has been stripping food of its appeal, flavor, and quantity for a healthier option to curve
obesity. This has caused the amount of food that growing students, who need anywhere from 2,000 to
3,200 calories a day to less than 2,000. It has also left people in disgust of the portions people have

Computers And The Modern Society
Say No to Decryption Smartphones, such as iPhone, Samsung, and Blackberry, have become an
indispensable part of everyone s life. Individuals use the phone to store their private information, from
photos to contacts, conversations, schedules, emails, bank accounts, and heath record, even where we
are going and who we are talking. All this information has to be protected from decryption and
unauthorized use by hackers, cyber criminals, and even the government. Recently, data decryption
becomes a certain issue faced by the technology companies, users, and the government after two
killers attacked at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California on December 2, 2015. The

Building a backdoor to a phone is an unprecedented step that takes everyone s safety at risk because it
empowers government, as well as hackers and cyber criminals, to capture users private data.
Weakening encryption will cause a series of issues on the security of devices. Sophia Cope, an
attorney at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, claims that if Apple creates unlocking technology, its
development would be like opening Pandora s Box. It means that not only would the killer s phone be
decrypted, but also all the phones would be at risk to be decrypted. The government is more likely to
ask Apple to craft a master key that could be used to open not only one door but every door. With this
master key, the government could pass through all the devices and access everyone s message, phone
calls, emails, location, social network accounts, bank account, or even camera or microphone without
the subject s consent. In facts, not only the government but also the hackers and cyber criminals could
access this information. They rely on the loophole to crack any devices for identity theft and various
kinds of crime. Compliance with the FBI s order to create a gateway for one device is putting the risk
of millions of people s private data accessible by those who have technological knowledge, including
the government, sophisticated hackers, and cybercriminals.

The Role of Technology in Large Scale Improvement of...
The educational world in is a state of change, with an increased emphasis on the implementation of
programs and policies designed to create large scale improvements in student learning and
performance. The social changes in the world, with an increasing movement towards the global village
concept, has brought a new level of competitiveness to education, that was previously absent. Schools,
school divisions, and even provinces had compared results in the past, but now the comparisons are on
a global level, with Canadian students being surpassed by students in other countries. The emergence

Lecklider s study had school administrators observe the use of technology by staff and students, and
then categorize the technological use as either Type 1 or Type 2. The results showed that technology
use in the schools was significantly skewed to the use of Type 1 technology. Lecklider states that,
Type 1 use of technology was observed as a daily occurrence by 89% of participants...only 22% of
participants observed students using one or more Type 2 technologies on a daily basis during school
(Lecklider, 2009). In an age where the Type 2 technologies are in the hands of our students outside of
school, it is puzzling to see that those technologies are not being used inside of the school. Many of
the Type 2 technologies are present in the schools in Saskatchewan and Canada, but it is unlikely that
if the study were conducted here that the results would be significantly different. The technology is
present, but there seem to be barriers in place that are preventing a transition from the educational
practices of the past century to the ones of the current century.
One way to ensure that this transition can happen is to consider technological integration as a
component of all the work we do in schools, including technology use that supports increased student
learning. The goal of embedding high levels of technology into instructional practice can be met if all

The Success Of A Circle Time
Successful Circle Time Circle time is one of the most fun and creative times of the school day.
Preschool children, typically ages three to around six, are very hands one and mobile. They want to
move about and explore things around them. For any teacher struggling with circle time and keeping
the attention of their students I would suggest multiple tips on how to keep students engaged. One is to
make circle time interactive and get the students involved in the circle time. An example would be
giving each student a part in a song or a story to act out. Another suggestion would be to start each
circle time with a song and dance so that students can release some of the energy that they have and be
ready to focus during circle time. It is also a great idea to have students move around during circle
time so they are not getting restless and moving in anyway they want (). Two very key things for circle
time to be a success is to be consistent with circle time and have it daily so that students know what to
expect. I have observed activities like reviewing the calendar, weather, and reading a short book.
Finally, one must be aware and patient of the disturbances that will pop up during circle time. Know
that students are all developing in different ways and not one is like the other. While one student may
sit attentively for a prolonged period of time, another may not be at that point yet. Plan circle time
around your students needs and it will be a very happy experience for

Point Of View In The Man From Mars By Margaret Atwood
Authors use point of view to send a message. Using different forms of point of view sends different
messages to the reader. By using point of view effectively, authors can invoke different feelings,
emotions, and thoughts in a reader. In The Man from Mars, Margaret Atwood uses the third person
limited point of view to create the feeling of ambiguity seen throughout the short story. This point of
view allows the reader to feel the same sense of mystery, danger, and fear that the main protagonist,
Christine, feels towards the strange man stalking her. Because of the point of view, the story has this
impact. If told from the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person omniscient point of view, the story would be vastly
different. By using the 3rd person limited point of view in The Man from Mars, Margaret Atwood
allows the reader to feel same sense of mystery that the main character feels while also getting in
touch with Christine s inner thoughts.
In the 1st person point of view the reader sees the story unfold from the perspective of the narrator.
Many novels use this convention such as classics like Catcher in the Rye and Treasure Island. This
point of view allows the reader to sympathize with the narrator/main character and place themselves in
the lives of these characters. Because of this, however, 1st person narration is limited and biased. The
narrator can only know what is taking place around them and even then, the narrator can be
considered unreliable due to being able to change certain

primary concern, voiced by 36 percent of these agencies, was for training to understand and help

There are many pros and cons about bringing the your pet to work discussion. On one side many

arguments to the table and weigh them both out.
I think we can all agree that many workplaces can be stressful at times and having your pet there

Diseases Caused By The Protozoan Parasites Cryptosporidium...
Introduction Parasites are organisms which live in close association to a host organism, the
relationship is non mutualistic, in which the parasite benefits and the host incurs costs. (Roberts
Janovy, 2008) The costs range from a visible form of reduced fecundity or survival, but also more
subtly such as reduced attractiveness, leading to reduced mating success (Ebert, 2005). This essay will
concentrate on two diseases caused by the protozoan parasites Cryptosporidium parvum and
Toxoplasma gondii. Cryptosporidium parvum is an apicomplexan parasite that exhibits a faecal oral
type life style. (Wiser, 2011) C. parvum causes the disease cryptosporidiosis, which infects the
mammalian intestinal tract, specifically the distal small intestine. Moreover, it can also affect the
respiratory tract in both immunocompromised and immunocompetent hosts. (Tzipori, 2014). Also,
Toxoplasma gondii causes Toxoplasmosis, which predominantly is asymptomatic, however it can
cause flu like symptoms and eye problems in a small number of hosts (Hunter Sibley, 2012). Biology
Cryptosporidium parvum C.parvum is one of many Cryptosporidium species which can infect
humans. the beginning of the life cycle starts with the ingestion of the C. parvum oocysts which can
be seen in Figure 1 as stage 3. Once ingested the oocysts migrate with other ingested material along
the digestive tract. Until it reaches the intestine, here it releases sporozoites (stage A B) these

The K2 Tape formulation delivered a higher level of performance versus standard hot melt/BOPP
film3 backing that was used by many K2 Tape competitors. K2 Tape s polyester film backing provided
more durability, holding force, and higher heat/cold resistance than BOPP film and was suited for
more challenging sealing applications. The K2 Tape product value proposition focused on the lowest
overall cost to the end user through superior performance. In house testing provided extensive
comparative data illustrating K2 Tape s exceptional performance under wide ranging conditions.
There were many competitive tape products in the market. Carton sealing tape was available in a
variety of strengths, widths, thickness, adhesives and backing materials. K2 Tape offered the most
advanced adhesive technology, but often competed against inferior, economy grade products like those

that convoy, snaking its way across the desert and through the floodlit border crossing, leaving behind
empty bases and memories of nearly 4,500 American lives that were lost. Americans breathed a sigh
of relief. Many Iraqis held their breath. War, they feared, was far from over for them, and time has
borne out their fears. The death and violence never stopped it s just that the bombs and bullets faded
from American minds and television screens once the pull out was complete. Two years later we re
back in Iraq and things are in many ways worse for Iraqis than when the Americans left. Driving in

Types of Death Penalty
The death penalty for heinous crime is as justifiable, if society deem it necessary for its well being, as
is the demand upon the citizen warrior to meet death upon the battle field, or upon the doctor to
remain steadfast at his duty in the plague stricken city. The good of society is the prime reason for the
punishment of criminals and their reformation is justifiable only when it conduces to this end (Hall,
1902, p. 390).
In recent years, death penalty has become a much talked about and controversial issue regardless of

This form of hanging is not to break the neck of the prisoners; rather letting them die of strangulation.
Last of all, the most humane form would be the long drop hanging. The prisoners would be allowed to
fall a pre determined height, then jerked upwards. The prisoners neck break easily and immediately as
the heads are still attached to the noose; thus, lessening the pain and suffering of the prisoners.
Death Penalty Information Center (n.d.) has concluded the process of general hanging. The process is
started when the prisoner is weighed a day before the execution and the prison officers rehearse using
a bag of sand weighing the same as the prisoner. By rehearsing, the prison officers could determine the
length of the rope so as not to prolong the torture and suffering of the prisoner. Before the rope can be
used, it has to be treated. Firstly, the 3/4inch to 1 ¼ inch rope is boiled and stretched to eliminate
spring or coiling. The knot should be lubricated with wax or soap ( Hanged by the Neck , n.d.) to
ensure a smooth sliding action (US Army Manual, 1969). Now, the prisoner is blindfolded, hands and
legs bounded, and noose is placed on his neck. Then, the trapdoor underneath the prisoner is opened,
allowing the prisoner to fall through. Should everything is properly in place, a rapid fracture
dislocation of the neck will occur. However, Weisberg (1991) says instantaneous death rarely occurs .

However, since most professors find it disrespectful to leave during class, I had to sit for an hour and

This data implies that GAD definitely has a biological factor to it, however it is also clear that onset of
the disorder can be contributed to stressful life experiences, relationships, and poverty. For example, a
recent Princeton study revealed that mothers in poverty have a greater risk of developing GAD
(Tucker, 2012). While GAD does have biological and environmental factors and the exact cause of the
disorder is unknown, it still revolves around a common factor (anxiety) and, with the proper treatment,
anxiety can be managed. Before discussing treatment options for generalized anxiety disorder it is
necessary to have a concrete grasp on the exact symptoms associated with the disorder as well as the
courses it may take. The DSM IV categorizes GAD as an, Excessive anxiety about a number of events
or activities, occurring more days than not, for at least 6 months. (Jess Rowney, 2015) As with Stacy,
GAD can often co occur with panic attack disorder (as well as other anxiety disorders) and includes
symptoms of excessive and irrational worry (Staff, 2015). However, GAD is still a distinct disorder.
For example, while panic attack disorder is typically attributed to worry about worrying, GAD is
attributed to stressful life experiences. The actual severity of said stressful experience and the anxiety
it warrants can seem arbitrary to the person with disorder. According to a 2011 Pfizer study, measuring

Expansions In America And The Westward Expansions Of The...
Westward expansions of the united states molded and affected the nations advancement socially,
politically and economically holding quick to its connections to agriculture, its relations with and
through slavery with the westward expansion therefore there would not be an abolishment movement
and the women would not have been there to find against it. Although the Indian removal has helped
shape the westward expansion politically and economically because it has given America more land
and cotton. The Mexican war shaped the western expansion culturally and politically because the
Mexican were racially religiously superior. Westward expansion between 1800 and 1860 affected
American culture in a few ways. One effect was that it enabled American ventures to develop and
thrive. As Americans moved westward, they required items so as to live in the west. In this way,
organizations moved toward the west and started to make the items that the general population
required. Around 1776, capable individuals in the American colonies whom we know as the Founding
Fathers found that, by making the possibility of a country with its own particular culture and images,
they reinforced their own particular administration and took control from British colonial rulers. Their
discovery was splendid: they made. The most effective system of national control devised in modern

The Burning Of Our House Analysis
There is a definite distinction between American literature written during the Colonial times and
literature written after the colonization of America. Colonial American literature was written by
American authors who were experiencing something completely new and different to them. They had
never been colonists or traitors to their mother country, Great Britain, before and this showed in their
literature. One prominent theme throughout Colonial literature is the importance of God. Puritan
author, Anne Bradstreet, made this apparent in her poem, The Burning of Our House. Instead of
feeling the emotions of anger and sadness due to the fact all of her belongings were destroyed, she
looked at the fire as a sign from God that he was taking his possessions that were rightfully his.
Colonial literature is rich in Puritan voices and, consequently, Puritan beliefs. Persuasive rhetoric is
apparent throughout much of Colonial literature. America was a blank slate for them and colonists
wanted to fill that slate with the government they thought best fit their ideals. Writers were able to

barriers * Service differentiation for Ruble and hard currency customers * High exchange rates and
complication in pricing (government versus black market rates) * Communication (disconnect
between the local employees and the management team) * Employees had to work long hours and
cover for absentees * Turnover and ongoing training for the new staff jeopardized the service and
quality of Pizza Hut.
Proposed solutions include a complete analysis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
* Lack of mozzarella cheese availability. Cheese had to be imported until local producers were able to
meet demand. Also, cows had to be put on a specific diet to be able to produce the right type of milk. *
Russia desired local sourcing. But, quality and reliability was low. * Lack of refrigerated trucks to
transport products. * Poor communication. * Lack of construction supplies. * Culture clash * Western
aggressive working culture versus Russian s relaxed working culture. * Unstable political system *
Government closed both restaurants shortly after opening for not possessing sanitation permit.
However, this was mainly due to power struggles between Russian government parties. * 300%
increase on basic food product prices and only 20% rise in wages. Pizza Hut had to increase its price
by 40%. Products were becoming less affordable to locals. * Need to purchase supplies from black
market for higher price. * Human Resources * Pay incentive system was a failure. * Poor
communication between Russian management and employees. * Employee count was 3 times more
than western Pizza Hut due to low productivity. Local working laws required 2 days on and 2 days off
schedule. * Harsh work rules. Workers were required to work 173 hours to receive salary of 600
rubles. Pay reduction for not meeting minimum work hours and

Pros And Cons Of A Movie Watching The Movie Rated R
Have you ever watched a movie that was rated R ? I believe that ratings on movies and shows should
not exist because a movie could be rated R but the content in the movie is not bad at all, all kids will
act differently to what they watch but if there has to be ratings I think I have a better rating system for
all kids and parents to help. When you watched the movie you either ignored the rating or your parents
let you watch it on your own at home. If they let you watch it, because they already watched it
themselves, then they are on the right track. I m here to tell you why I think parents should be the ones
to tell what their kid watches by actually watching the movie first so that ratings will not exist at all!
When you watch an R rated movie what s usually in the movie? It s either sexual content, nudity,
violence and/or language. When parents see an R rating they think that it has sexual content, nudity,
violence and language so then they don t let their kid watch it. Sometimes it s just rated like this
because it swears a couple times. I also doubt that a grade 7 has never heard the F word before from
their parents or a school friend. It really should not be rated R for that. Another reason for parents to
watch the movie first instead of just looking at the rating is because the movie could be rated 13+ but
then have other bad things happen in the movie that they are not supposed to watch. If the parents had
not just read the rating and

Matthew And John Essay
The Gospels (literally, good news ) encompass the Synoptics (Matthew, Mark, Luke) and John). In the
Gospels of Matthew and John, Jesus is revealed; Jesus reveals God (John 1:18; Matt 11:27); and God
speaks finally (Heb 1:1 4). While Matthew presented a narration on the temptation of Jesus, his
transfiguration, and the institution of the Lord s Supper, John was silent on those materials. John
mentions no examples of Jesus casting out demons. While Matthew focuses on the genealogy of Jesus,
John establishes the deity of Jesus. The Sermon on the Mount and the Lord s Prayer are not found in
John s Gospel. Matthew is the only Gospel writer who speaks directly of the church (Matthew16: 18;
18:17). He points to the Gentile composition of this church ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

But one day, Israel will be restored to its place of blessing (Rom. 11:25 27; 15:8, 9). One of the
purposes of Matthew is to instruct the church. An obvious clue to this is in the Great Commission:
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you (28:20). The discipling process
involves instruction in the words of Christ, and the Gospel of Matthew revolves around five of Jesus
discourses (5:1 7:28; 10:5 11:1; 13:3 53; 18:2 19:1; 24:4 26:1). Instead of emphasizing a narrative of
Jesus life as Mark does, Matthew uses the narrative elements in his Gospel as a setting for Jesus
sermons.
The Gospel of John is a persuasive argument for the deity of Jesus. It concentrates on presenting Jesus
as the Word (Logos), that is, God (1:1) who became a man (1:14). Thus John meticulously records the
statements and describes the miracles of Jesus that can only be attributed to God Himself. Jesus called
Himself the bread of life (6:35, 41, 48, 51), the light of the world (8:12; 9:5), the door for the sheep
(10:7, 9), the good shepherd (10:11, 14), the resurrection and the life (11:25), the way, the truth, the
life (14:6), and the true vine (15:1, 5). Each of these statements begins with the words, I am, recalling
God s revelation of His name, I

The Aeneid By Virgil, The Oresteia, And Sappho By Sappho
Rationality affects the way we behave, but emotions change our behavior and drive us to behave the
way we do. People are driven by emotions, yet we can not allow them to be the only thing that
controls our actions and behaviors. Rationality helps control our emotions and prevents them from
getting too out of hand. There are three texts from seminar that demonstrate this idea of emotional
power: The Aeneid by Virgil, The Oresteia by Aeschylus, and Sappho by Sappho. In The Aeneid, the
text discusses Aeneas journey to Italy and the many encounters he had. It was in this text that the
females displayed emotional power. The Oresteia is a play about murder, revenge, and justice within
the royal family of Argos. Emotion is what drives this play ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Rational, only in appearance, Dido tells her sister, Anna, to go build her a pyre in secret, deep inside
our courtyard under the open sky to obliterate every trace of the man (144; lines 618, 623). Anna does
as her sister tells her to and is deceived by what the pyre was really meant for. Dido attempts to rid
herself of her emotions by burning every trace of Aeneas, yet her emotions eventually take over. With
her heart torn apart, Dido commits suicide. Dido s sister on the other hand is hurt but still emotionally
stable. Anna is stunned, grieving, and hurt by the actions of her sister. She states, how very cruel... You
have destroyed your life, my sister, mine too (151; lines 847, 848). Despite playing a part in her sister
s death, Anna remains levelheaded and requests help to bathe [Dido s] wounds in water and hopes that
if a lingering breath still hovers that she should catch it on [her] lips (151; lines 851, 852). Similar to
The Aeneid, The Oresteia also demonstrates characters caving into their emotions. Clytemnestra, the
Queen of Argos, lacks the power to prevent her daughter being used as a sacrificial lamb to the gods.
The misery she felt when her husband, Agamemnon, sacrificed their daughter was immense. So
immense that it led her to murder, for she thought that

Symbolism In The Birthmark By Nathaniel Hawthorne As the last crimson tint of the birthmark that sole token of human imperfection faded from her cheek, the parting breath of the now perfect woman passed into the atmosphere, and her soul, lingering a moment near her husband, took its heavenward flight (Hawthorne 13). In 1843, Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote The Birthmark, a tragic and unexpected short story. In the beginning of The Birthmark, Alymer, a man of science, marries a young beautiful woman named Georgiana. One day Alymer noticed a mark on Georgiana s cheek, and over time his obsession with the thought of removing it scientifically caused the death of his wife. Therefore, in the short story The Birthmark, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Alymer pushes the scientific boundaries too far and his experiment is unjustified. In the nineteenth century, the religion in America, was mainly Christianity. Before Christianity, there were the Puritans, they believed that it was necessary to be in a covenant relationship with God in order to redeem one from one s sinful condition, that God had chosen to reveal salvation through preaching, and that the Holy Spirit was the energizing instrument of salvation (Britannica). The Puritans also believed in predestination, which means God knew the future of the person the day they were born. Predestination tied in with John Calvin s theory as well. These works, aside from being visually and intellectually stimulating, have been used to challenge and encourage an audience to think about what it s representing in flexible and open minded ways, this is usually done by shocking the audience out of their complacency when viewing artworks. The great artists of the Conceptual Art movement especially emphasised this by focusing more on the concept behind a piece than the art itself. Three particular artists that are famous for challenging audiences with their work include Marcel Duchamp (1887 1968), Jenny Holzer (1950 present) and Ai WeiWei (1957 present). Even though these three artists are part of different times, countries, political and cultural movements, they all use their works to confront and challenge every part of their audience including critics, the media and the general public. Marcel Duchamp is widely considered as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, his early works saw him in the Post Impressionist movement however his want for art to be in the service of the mind saw his move away from that style of art. With this master key, the government could pass through all the devices and access everyone s message, phone calls, emails, location, social network accounts, bank account, or even camera or microphone without the subject s consent. In facts, not only the government but also the hackers and cyber criminals could access this information. They rely on the loophole to crack any devices for identity theft and various kinds of crime. The educational world in is a state of change, with an increased emphasis on the implementation of programs and policies designed to create large scale improvements in student learning and performance. The social changes in the world, with an increasing movement towards the global village concept, has brought a new level of competitiveness to education, that was previously absent. Schools, school divisions, and even provinces had compared results in the past, but now the comparisons are on a global level, with Canadian students being surpassed by students in other countries. Lecklider states that, Type 1 use of technology was observed as a daily occurrence by 89% of participants...only 22% of participants observed students using one or more Type 2 technologies on a daily basis during school (Lecklider, 2009). In an age where the Type 2 technologies are in the hands of our students outside of school, it is puzzling to see that those technologies are not being used inside of the school. Many of the Type 2 technologies are present in the schools in Saskatchewan and Canada, but it is unlikely that if the study were conducted here that the results would be significantly different. The technology is present, but there seem to be barriers in place that are preventing a transition from the educational practices of the past century to the ones of the current century. One way to ensure that this transition can happen is to consider technological integration as a component of all the work we do in schools, including technology use that supports increased student learning. • 23. The Success Of A Circle Time Successful Circle Time Circle time is one of the most fun and creative times of the school day. Preschool children, typically ages three to around six, are very hands one and mobile. They want to move about and explore things around them. For any teacher struggling with circle time and keeping the attention of their students I would suggest multiple tips on how to keep students engaged. One is to make circle time interactive and get the students involved in the circle time. An example would be giving each student a part in a song or a story to act out. Another suggestion would be to start each circle time with a song and dance so that students can release some of the energy that they have and be ready to focus during circle time. It is also a great idea to have students move around during circle time so they are not getting restless and moving in anyway they want (). Two very key things for circle time to be a success is to be consistent with circle time and have it daily so that students know what to expect. I have observed activities like reviewing the calendar, weather, and reading a short book. Finally, one must be aware and patient of the disturbances that will pop up during circle time. Know that students are all developing in different ways and not one is like the other. While one student may sit attentively for a prolonged period of time, another may not be at that point yet. • 24. Point Of View In The Man From Mars By Margaret Atwood Authors use point of view to send a message. Using different forms of point of view sends different messages to the reader. By using point of view effectively, authors can invoke different feelings, emotions, and thoughts in a reader. In The Man from Mars, Margaret Atwood uses the third person limited point of view to create the feeling of ambiguity seen throughout the short story. This point of view allows the reader to feel the same sense of mystery, danger, and fear that the main protagonist, Christine, feels towards the strange man stalking her. Because of the point of view, the story has this impact. If told from the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person omniscient point of view, the story would be vastly different. By using the 3rd person limited point of view in The Man from Mars, Margaret Atwood allows the reader to feel same sense of mystery that the main character feels while also getting in touch with Christine s inner thoughts. In the 1st person point of view the reader sees the story unfold from the perspective of the narrator. Many novels use this convention such as classics like Catcher in the Rye and Treasure Island. This point of view allows the reader to sympathize with the narrator/main character and place themselves in the lives of these characters. Because of this, however, 1st person narration is limited and biased. The narrator can only know what is taking place around them and even then, the narrator can be considered unreliable due to being able to change certain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction Parasites are organisms which live in close association to a host organism, the relationship is non mutualistic, in which the parasite benefits and the host incurs costs. (Roberts Janovy, 2008) The costs range from a visible form of reduced fecundity or survival, but also more subtly such as reduced attractiveness, leading to reduced mating success (Ebert, 2005). This essay will concentrate on two diseases caused by the protozoan parasites Cryptosporidium parvum and Toxoplasma gondii. Cryptosporidium parvum is an apicomplexan parasite that exhibits a faecal oral type life style. (Wiser, 2011) C. parvum causes the disease cryptosporidiosis, which infects the mammalian intestinal tract, specifically the distal small intestine. Moreover, it can also affect the respiratory tract in both immunocompromised and immunocompetent hosts. (Tzipori, 2014). Also, Toxoplasma gondii causes Toxoplasmosis, which predominantly is asymptomatic, however it can cause flu like symptoms and eye problems in a small number of hosts (Hunter Sibley, 2012). Biology Cryptosporidium parvum C.parvum is one of many Cryptosporidium species which can infect humans. the beginning of the life cycle starts with the ingestion of the C. parvum oocysts which can be seen in Figure 1 as stage 3. Once ingested the oocysts migrate with other ingested material along the digestive tract. While GAD does have biological and environmental factors and the exact cause of the disorder is unknown, it still revolves around a common factor (anxiety) and, with the proper treatment, anxiety can be managed. Colonial American literature was written by American authors who were experiencing something completely new and different to them. They had never been colonists or traitors to their mother country, Great Britain, before and this showed in their literature. One prominent theme throughout Colonial literature is the importance of God. Puritan author, Anne Bradstreet, made this apparent in her poem, The Burning of Our House. Instead of feeling the emotions of anger and sadness due to the fact all of her belongings were destroyed, she looked at the fire as a sign from God that he was taking his possessions that were rightfully his. When you watched the movie you either ignored the rating or your parents let you watch it on your own at home. If they let you watch it, because they already watched it themselves, then they are on the right track. When you watch an R rated movie what s usually in the movie? It s either sexual content, nudity, violence and/or language. When parents see an R rating they think that it has sexual content, nudity, violence and language so then they don t let their kid watch it. Sometimes it s just rated like this because it swears a couple times. I also doubt that a grade 7 has never heard the F word before from their parents or a school friend. It really should not be rated R for that. • 42. Matthew And John Essay The Gospels (literally, good news ) encompass the Synoptics (Matthew, Mark, Luke) and John). In the Gospels of Matthew and John, Jesus is revealed; Jesus reveals God (John 1:18; Matt 11:27); and God speaks finally (Heb 1:1 4). While Matthew presented a narration on the temptation of Jesus, his transfiguration, and the institution of the Lord s Supper, John was silent on those materials. John mentions no examples of Jesus casting out demons. While Matthew focuses on the genealogy of Jesus, John establishes the deity of Jesus. The Sermon on the Mount and the Lord s Prayer are not found in John s Gospel. Matthew is the only Gospel writer who speaks directly of the church (Matthew16: 18; 18:17). He points to the Gentile composition of this church ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But one day, Israel will be restored to its place of blessing (Rom. 11:25 27; 15:8, 9). One of the purposes of Matthew is to instruct the church. An obvious clue to this is in the Great Commission: teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you (28:20). The discipling process involves instruction in the words of Christ, and the Gospel of Matthew revolves around five of Jesus discourses (5:1 7:28; 10:5 11:1; 13:3 53; 18:2 19:1; 24:4 26:1). Instead of emphasizing a narrative of Jesus life as Mark does, Matthew uses the narrative elements in his Gospel as a setting for Jesus sermons. The Gospel of John is a persuasive argument for the deity of Jesus. It concentrates on presenting Jesus as the Word (Logos), that is, God (1:1) who became a man (1:14). Thus John meticulously records the statements and describes the miracles of Jesus that can only be attributed to God Himself. Jesus called Himself the bread of life (6:35, 41, 48, 51), the light of the world (8:12; 9:5), the door for the sheep (10:7, 9), the good shepherd (10:11, 14), the resurrection and the life (11:25), the way, the truth, the life (14:6), and the true vine (15:1, 5). Each of these statements begins with the words, I am, recalling God s revelation of His name, I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. The Aeneid By Virgil, The Oresteia, And Sappho By Sappho Rationality affects the way we behave, but emotions change our behavior and drive us to behave the way we do. People are driven by emotions, yet we can not allow them to be the only thing that controls our actions and behaviors. Rationality helps control our emotions and prevents them from getting too out of hand. There are three texts from seminar that demonstrate this idea of emotional power: The Aeneid by Virgil, The Oresteia by Aeschylus, and Sappho by Sappho. In The Aeneid, the text discusses Aeneas journey to Italy and the many encounters he had. It was in this text that the females displayed emotional power. The Oresteia is a play about murder, revenge, and justice within the royal family of Argos. Emotion is what drives this play ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rational, only in appearance, Dido tells her sister, Anna, to go build her a pyre in secret, deep inside our courtyard under the open sky to obliterate every trace of the man (144; lines 618, 623). Anna does as her sister tells her to and is deceived by what the pyre was really meant for. Dido attempts to rid herself of her emotions by burning every trace of Aeneas, yet her emotions eventually take over. With her heart torn apart, Dido commits suicide. Dido s sister on the other hand is hurt but still emotionally stable. Anna is stunned, grieving, and hurt by the actions of her sister. She states, how very cruel... You have destroyed your life, my sister, mine too (151; lines 847, 848). Despite playing a part in her sister s death, Anna remains levelheaded and requests help to bathe [Dido s] wounds in water and hopes that if a lingering breath still hovers that she should catch it on [her] lips (151; lines 851, 852). Similar to The Aeneid, The Oresteia also demonstrates characters caving into their emotions. Clytemnestra, the Queen of Argos, lacks the power to prevent her daughter being used as a sacrificial lamb to the gods. The misery she felt when her husband, Agamemnon, sacrificed their daughter was immense. So immense that it led her to murder, for she thought that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
