3. RESEARCH
The strengths of my research were mostly on how to use
Premiere Pro, which I felt made a huge impact on the video as
a whole. I also researched how to storyboard correctly which
helped with the planning.
Some of the weaknesses that I could have improved to make
a better product were not doing any research on how to film to
make more of a dynamic video. I felt my filming could have
been better if I did more research. Also not finding out what
size green screen I actually needed was a mistake. I should’ve
done more research about if the green screen would be
affected by smoke, which is what happened in my case
because I did not do the research.
4. PLANNING
The main strength in terms of planning was the storyboard,
basically filmed most scenes off that thing, made the filming a
lot quicker. Most equipment I planned out pretty well getting
them a few days in advance.
The worst planning mistake was the green screen. If I had
measured what I needed I could have filmed everything a day
earlier, which I could’ve spent on editing.
5. TIME MANAGEMENT
I had plenty enough time to do my work, I managed my time
pretty well I think, especially for filming; perhaps I could’ve
spent additional time setting out days for the editing.
If I had more time I would probably just tidy off the edits maybe
get some more techniques in.

8. AESTHETIC QUALITIES
It looks decent in parts, however there are parts I
would change like the smoke machine that tainted
the visuals at points. I do believe it was a creative
idea and if I had more already acquired skill I
could've done more ideas I had. I specifically like
the glitch parts I think it looks pretty good, also
when the greenscreen works I thought it looked
pretty cool; the starting green screen and the one
where the guitar is in it are my favourites.
If I was going to remake this project I would redo
the filming with no smoke machine in combination
with the green screen, I would maybe put some
more energy into the scenes as me the actor, I
would perhaps do some moving filmed scenes,
more handheld and zooms, a bit like in the
pockets video, do closer shots.
9. AUDIENCE APPEAL
I think I have apealed to
the target audience
because it is
experimental and
creative and I don’t think
the song or video caters
towards the older
generation as much. I
think the psychedelic
backgrounds apeal to
the younger audience
because it is visually
pleasing at times.
11. FEEDBACK 1
What did you like about the product?
The concept of the spaceman works really well with the music style and
the narrative in the story is easy to follow and understand. I thought the
edits were particularly effective again running very well in time to
musical changes.
The effects I thought were both again very creative and enhanced the
concept of the entire story.
What improvements could have been made to the product?
Perhaps having something on the computer screens of the mad scientist,
would have been nice to see, to add to the story of those scenes.
A couple of the green screen backgrounds there are a few lines that are
noticeable, I think due to use of the smoke.
12. FEEDBACK 2
1. What do you like about the music video?
Song choice complimented the video footage. I particularly liked how it starts with a
close up of David Bowie’s eyes.
Great use of editing and visuals.
Jay produced the music video and also chose to act in some of the scenes which
took more time to set up the shots. Liked the effort that went into use of various
costumes and makeup for the scenes.
2. What improvements could have been made to the music video?
I’m aware that Jay tried to get visuals on the PC screens used in the ‘mad scientist’
scenes which proved difficult to do. Perhaps improvements to these scenes could be
improved with a visuals overlay to blend in and compliment the other scenes in the
video.
13. FEEDBACK 3
What do I like about the video
The surreal music tones perfectly complement the intergalactic referencing of the video screenshots
with the occasional reference to earth keeping the audience interested.
What could be improved
Overall excellent sound and pictorial content. Further exposure to editing with more actors cast in the
movie could add further flavour.
Exceptional performance, script, music and filming of Jay’s short film ‘Homage”.
Improvement could be mad in the editing process, which will come with guidance and experience.
Margaret Ingram
There’s a good blend of music with the themes presented visually - reminiscent of the era and visuals of the
time. Particularly liked the scene change acknowledging the passage of time and reflection of Homage.
The transitions could be blended more smoothly but again this could be a deliberate reflection of the productions
of the time.
14. PEER FEEDBACK
SUMMARY
What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
I agree that the song and the visuals went well together and
that’s what I was going for and its nice for people to also enjoy
that. I also tried to keep it entertaining with costumes and I
thought it fitted the song. I also agree the part with no visuals
on the screen was annoying. I would say with more experience
I can do better.
What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
I think the edits could’ve been a bit smoother and especially
the lip synch parts. I think my performance could’ve been
better honestly.
15. PEER FEEDBACK
SUMMARY
I think on the most part everyone liked the concept of the song
and how the video complemented it, and the editing could’ve
been better and if I was going to do it again I would change a
lot of parts.
