2. HOW SUCCESSFUL IS MY POSTER AND HOW DO I KNOW?
I think it was very successful as my target audience said they would feel attracted to it when they see
it which means they would pay attestation to my poster(which is the purpose of my poster)
Evidence
Another reason why I think my poster was successful is because it didn't have much writing on so it
wasn't too over whelmed. This would attract my target audience which was teenagers and young adults
in college.
Evidence
Lastly I think my poster is successful because my target audience thought the colours combination
weren't that childish and the pictures at the top and the batteries at the top explained the story
without reading it front the top.
Evidence
3. WHAT TOOLS DID I USE TO MAKE MY
POSTER?
InDesign: what I made
Used to make the batteries.
Used to make the arrows.
Making my website banner.
InDesign: Tools I used
Swatches I used this to choose
what colour I needed, I also used this to mix
One colour together to get one lighter colour and one darker colour of the same
colour. (This was used for my batteries as you can see)
Left hand side tool bar, the tools I used form here was the T, which was to
write on top of the pictures on my poster, the next thing I used it for was the
long line, this is used to make the happy sad and okay face on the battery's.
Next I used the circle sign to make the eyes on the batteries. To make the
arrows I used the long line to make a triangle, fill that n with a colour then a
rectangle using the lines; the reason why I couldn’t use the arrow from the
InDesign pictures gallery was be cause it would change colour to what
colour I need. To make the top grey bit and bottom bit of the battery I used
the line tool is well and for both I made small rectangles, but for the om one
I made a triangle and I made it extremely small to look like the battery I used
in my mock up.
Word and PowerPoint : What
I made
All my presentations
All my essays
Photoshop: What I used it for
Editing my pictures
(make them lighter or
darker
How skilfully did I used these
tools?
Considering I only had a bit
of knowledge about
InDesign and Photoshop, I
experimented a lot and from
the help of Richard I learned
a lot more then what I
already knew.
4. THE CHOICE OF MY IMAGE
It was really hard to find people to shoot the exact picture so had on my poster
mock up so I decided to keep the same story line but change the pictures a bit
but still have the same meaning. The pictures are the pictures from my poster, they
were taken in school as I didn’t have enough time to go home and take pictures, I
decided to have my college as a alternative because it had sofas which would make
the pictures look more realistic. There was a very negative side to my luck when I
took my original pictures, unfortunately my original pictures has been lost because
my phone wiped, so these pictures above are actually my second set of pictures I
took, also ym actors had changed because my original actors had a class at that
5. MY CHOICE OF SLOGAN
I didn't choose my slogan myself I had asked
my target audience to do that part! I did this by
creating a questionnaire this questionnaire had
eight slogans that I had come up with and
different people ticked the one they thought was
most appealing and most effective to them. The
picture at the top is my slogan which is‘ Its not
sleeping its recharging’ this was the most popular
slogan from the results of my survey, so I
Learning Aim 2 A
6. TYPE OF TYPEFACE AND THE COLOUR
SCHEME I CHOSE.
The typeface is used for my slogan is ‘Ravie’ Regular, the reason
why I choose this was because I thought It stood out a lot more
then the others, also I has a little connection with my target audience,
I say this because It is eye catching, the reason why it is eye
catching is because it has bright colours and its fancy this is the sort
of things teenagers like which attracts them towards anything.
Furthermore the colour scheme I choose was orange and white the
reason why I choose this colour was because it stands out and looks
bold on the background which is blue. The typeface chosen was to
make it look funky, the reason why it was this size because i wanted
it to stand out and be recognised. . I think the colour scheme is
7. HIERARCHY & POINT OF FOCUS
The most important elements:
Batteries
Emotions on the batteries
The colours of the batteries
Typeface of the writing
Main images
Less important elements:
The silver switches of the batteries at the top and
bottom
Background colour
How big or small the batteries were
How big the arrows were
My main point of focus was the batteries and
the images of underneath them. I say this
because these are the things that created the
story on my poster.
Reason why this was the point of focus:
Created the story of my poster
Attracted my target audience
Most eye catching thing on the poster
8. COMPOSITION & SHAPES
I arranged my text on top of the page above the images of the
girl and boy I made. I had done this so the text explained what
the images were about. The slogan I put right at the bottom
because I thought it was very big to be put at the top and I
thought it looked more better at the bottom of my poster. I
arranged my images next to each other going across the page;
this was done because I thought it would be a simple way to
read my poster and see the story behind it.
9. CREATING DESKTOP AND WEB BASED
GRAPHICS:
I used a vector shape tools to draw the rectangle for my batteries also I used it to draw the
lines on the batteries to create the emotion. I also used text wrap, this was used to write the
text above the batteries and make it visible. I used the text box to create a box to write text in,
then I used the text tool to write the text above the batteries and underneath the batteries for
my slogan. To insert my three images I used the picture boxes. I used the transform tools to
size the batteries I made and the images I inserted. When I created the page I made page
arrangements I arranged the page portrait. I imported primary images from digital cameras
and also my iPhone. When I was creating my banner I had to manipulate my image to 300pi
make it fit exactly on my website banner. To upload my poster and banner I had to change
the files into JPEGS to keep the files manageable. The types of digital graphic I used is
InDesign vector. The output I had was that I published my work on to web worldwide which
was my own blog.
