Statistical Assumptions Of Substantive Analyses Across The...
Nimon, K. (2012). Statistical Assumptions of Substantive Analyses Across the General Linear Model:
A Mini Review. Frontiers in Psychology Front. Psychology, 3(322).
When using inferential statistics depends on the sampling technique used as well as the characteristics
of the population data. This dependency does assume that the sample and population meet certain
criteria. The criteria is called statistical assumptions, and if there are violations of these statistical
assumptions that are not addressed, than the data may not be interpreted correctly. In particular, Type I
or Type II errors may be increased or decreased incorrectly. Nimon s (2012) article focused on
assumptions associated with substantive statistical analyses across the ... Show more content on

Using unreliable data may cause underestimation which increase the probability of Type II errors. If
there is correlated error, we may see unreliable data to be overestimated which would increase the risk
of Type I errors. To satisfy the assumption of error free data, researchers may conduct and report
analyses using latent variables as opposed to observed variables. This technique is called structural
equation modeling (SEM). This is where latent variables are formed from item scores, the former of
which becomes the unit analyzed. It is important to note that SEM is a large sample technique. A
researcher can also delete a few items to raise the reliability of an observed score, but this should be
reported along with the accompanied estimated of the reliability with and without the deleted items.
Some researchers consider measurement to be an assumption while others do not. Nimon (2012) does
state because measurement levels play such a pivotal role in statistical analyses decision trees, it
would not be recommended to lower the measurement level of data unless certain characteristics are
met. This may discard important information and may produce misleading or erroneous information.
Yet another assumption, is the assumption that inferential statistics in psychological and educational
research produce population data that is normally distributed. This does depend on the analysis
conducted, such as univariate, multivariate,

Cognitive Social Learning Theory
Cognitive Social Learning Theory

Cognitive Social Learning Theory
I have selected this theory primarily because I believe that a great majority of our learning during the
course of our entire lives is achieved by observation. Bandura s social cognitive theory is a learning
based on the ideas that people learn by watching what others do and that human thought processes are
central to understanding personality. While social cognition experts agree that there is a fair amount of
influence on development generated by learned behavior displayed in the environment in which one
grows up, they believe that the individual person is just as important in determining moral
development. People learn by observing others, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While watching and observing children play, you can discover their interests. You can see more than
the children just having fun, but you may witness any strengths and/or weaknesses in personality,
learning or interactive abilities. By observing children I was able to learn their developmental level,
such as who the leader of the group was or what leaders were in competition to lead the play session.
Thus observing the children interact I could learn a lot about their respective personalities. From my
observation, the child that was obviously in charge of this group had either an older sibling, relative or
perhaps was mimicking what he saw on television by directing and giving instruction to the other
children who were playing with him. In the game of organized basketball there is one leader on the
court for each team. That leader is normally the point guard position. The child may already possess
the personality of being a leader, but he had to observe and learn the other details he exuded by
watching what he had seen in live action or by television.
I can personally relate to this theory the most because in retrospect I realize that a great deal of my
behavioral learning was developed through observation. I wouldn t consider where I grew up as a
child as being the ghetto , but the area was rough, and I believe it is safe to say that there was a
survival of the fittest mentality. There was a certain assertive aggressiveness that I

The Value of Education Essay
The Value of Education
Learning and knowledge are highly prized in all societies, especially here in Ireland, where there is a
strong tradition of respect for education. The choices that individuals make when leaving school, in
particular whether to pursue higher education or not, are likely to have a long lasting effect on their
lifestyle. The main purposes for a University education involve: social, national and educational
purposes and for the individual personal purposes and moral development. These topics will be
addressed in the following paragraphs.
The two main institutions predominantly concerned with education are Universities and Schools. It
may be argued that the main purpose of Universities is to advance the ... Show more content on

The advantage of widespread education is the cultivation of international skills and attitudes,
contributing to the values of university education.
This intermingling of cultures and social differences causes a change in the attitudes and outlooks of
society. The levelling up of living standards in our economy has created a greater sense of human
dignity and freedom replacing an earlier and traditional view of inferiority. Opportunities for
education, leading to promotion at work are richer and more varied. Universal education has enhanced
individuals view of the world and has created an awareness of the stream of events in other parts of
the world. Which up to 1900 was prerogative of perhaps one fifth of the population. (K.G. Collier,
1959:33)
Not only does this diversity benefit social purposes but it also has certain national purposes. National
reforms in higher education were a result of Europe s ability to collect information from these diverse
Universities, and adapt to beneficial procedures. (Robbins report: 41) Consequently this encouraged
efficiency throughout the education system, due to high levels of mobility between different European
countries, and high standards were therefore demanded. These mutual exchanges of solutions to
higher education problems benefit Europe as a community and benefit our Universities both

Counseling And Delivering Services Under The Best Practice
Evidence Based Practice

Evidenced Based Practices
Counseling and delivering services under the best practice should always be the goal of a practitioner.
In a field such as counseling, where the lives of others are being impacted, making specific choices on
how to deliver services, and making a choice to choose one form of therapy over another is pertinent
to not only the successful rehabilitation of a client, but to also ensure the longevity of yourself as a
practitioner and as a counselor. Practicing techniques or alternative forms of therapy which are based
off of literature which is not evidenced based can lead a practitioner to unethical practices which can

Mahler s 8th Symphony
In June 1906, 46 year old Gustav Mahler was struck with inspiration unlike any he had ever had in his
life. With this inspiration, he composed his Eighth Symphony in less than two months. Dedicated to
My dear wife, Alma Maria and known as Mahler s search for redemption , this symphony was the first
of Mahler s works to be an overwhelming success.
Mahler s Eighth Symphony connected two choral pieces, Veni, Creator Spiritus (early 9th century)
and Goethe s Faust, Part II (1830 1831). These two works were written one thousand years apart, so
one would think that the works have very little, if anything, in common. Veni, Creator Spiritus is a
Latin Pentecost hymn. Mahler used the final scene of Faust, Part II, in which a solution is presented ...

instrumentalists on stage is already astounding, Mahler then also calls for a tremendous vocal section

The Flow of the River, by Loren Eiseley Essay
When reflecting and writing on Eiseley s essay and the magical element , I balk. I think to myself,
What magic? , and then put pen to page. I dubiously choose a kiddie pool to draw inspiration from,
and unexpectedly, inspiration flows into me. As I sit here in this little 10x30 foot backyard, the sky is
filled with the flowing gaseous form of water, dark patches of moist earth speckle the yard, the plants
soak up their scattered watering, and the leaves of bushes and trees imbue the space with a sense of
dampness from their foliage. As my senses tune into the moisture that surrounds me, I fill Braedon s
artificial pond with water. I stare at the shimmering surface, contemplating Eiseley s narrative, and the

Of all the ways Eiseley imparts his impressions of water and the manner its magic impregnates the
world, the one not mentioned is the most intriguing to me. The way he was moved to write about
water because of its relationship to his past, is waters definitive magic. The concept of water was the
vehicle that transported his feelings to thoughts, and from thoughts to his narrative. He found
enchantment where others would have just found a mundane substance. He even writes, ...the
enormous mindlessness of space settles down upon the soul. There are others that would contend that
there is more magic in the cosmos than in water, but there is a resonance that is stirred in Eiseley, by
water s magic. When I sit and think about water, these are some sentiments that stream from me:
water, an oasis of cool relief for my throat, when sand dunes and wandering Bedouin nomads migrate
on the desert of my tongue; the last days of elementary school when the tease of a late spring swim
hints at the summer to come, and the time spent slipping the bonds of my corporeal existence, floating
in that ethereal substance; of the cool shade of broad leafed trees drawing water up to their verdant
canopy to their aquatic reservoir, sharing a respite from the unforgiving heat of an afternoon sun.
Water flows through most of my happiest

The Three Key Elements Of Freud s Tripartite Personality...
Personality is the distinctive and relatively enduring way of thinking, feeling and acting that
characterises a person s responses to life situations. (O Brien 2011:103) The three key elements of
Freud s tripartite personality structure are the id, the ego and the superego. These three elements are
used in almost every decision a person makes on a day to day basis. The structure is mostly compared
to an ice berg with a small bit of the ego being above the water which would be the conscious and the
id and the superego being underneath the water and unconscious. The id and the superego are also
portrayed as the devil and the angel respectably. According to Zhu, (2012) his theory smashes the
rationalistic myth of human are rational animals through the reveal and emphasis of ego.
The first of the structures is the id. The part of the mind in which innate instinctive impulses and
primary processes are manifest: (oxford dictionary) we are born with the id in order to survive, it
develops in utero. It makes everything about itself and it is known as the pleasure principle . Its main

that alcoholics (..) with life problems escalating, will deny the relationship between alcohol and their

making techniques. This helps the health professional make an accurate diagnosis based off of

PROACTIVE
PROACTIVE is a mnemonic that helps health professionals come up with the best possible treatment
plan by looking at the problem from different points of view. The PROACTIVE mnemonic is split up
into three sections: defining the problem, determining the alternatives, consequences, and trade offs,
and integration and exploration. In the first section (PRO), it looks at defining the problem, reframing
the question, and focusing on the objective. This allows health professionals to look at the problem as
broadly as possible to ensure that they have considered all of the possible consequences and who will
be affected by the problem before deciding on an objective. Once the objective is set you can look at

Art allows us to see a new aspect of the world and enhance our lives so people can truly learn who
they are (Stand for the Arts). It gives us the chance to create our future, share our past and define our
dreams (Stand for the Arts 1).The arts are just as important, if not more, than other subjects like math
and english. Music and theater education correspond with greater scores in math and reading ( 11
Facts About Arts in Education ). Art can help people psychologically whether they have a mental
disorder like dementia, or not (Friedman 1). The arts allow us to channel our deep emotions onto a

When these deep emotions are being expressed you forget about all of your worries and stress for a
period of time which allows your brain to focus on your art and being calm. The arts don t only help
you get better scores in school and control your thoughts and stress, they also help you become more
aware of the world around you and help you grasp a better understanding of your feelings mean along
with other people s emotions (Greene et al. 2) . The 2006 Pennsylvania state teacher of the year,

channel negative emotion into something positive. Students are well rounded and required to be

Stereotypes And Media Analysis
Your television and computer are controlling every choice you make. Scary thought? Everyday
Americans log into their computer or turn on their TV and are fed information from our trusted media.
In fact, a Marshall survey states, By 2015, it is estimated that Americans will consume both traditional
and digital media for over 1.7 trillion hours, an average of approximately 5 and a half hours per person
per day. Unknowingly at times, we are allowing our media to shape the choices we make, the ways we
see others, and the way we view ourselves. With most of Americans unaware of the media s control on
their choices and views, this can be an alarming realization. Media has a major impact on multiple

people sacrifice for others. Ariel gave up her voice and many other things just so she could be with

stereotypes. In another video called Always #likeagirl it stated when people say like a girl it s almost
always a bad thing. Like you run or throw like a girl it s normally a bad thing. So many people want to
make it a good thing. This illustrates that people want to reverse things. 2nd, 3rd, even 1st graders take

Essay about Woolf s Vision in A Room of One s Own
Woolf s Vision in A Room of One s Own
Many years have lapsed sinee Virginia Woolf spoke at Newnham and Girton colleges on the subject of
women and fiction. Her remarkable words are preserved for future generations of women in A Room
of One s Own. This essay is the first manifesto of the modern feminist movement (Samuelson), and
has been called a notable preamble to a kind of feminine Declaration of Independence (Muller 34).
Woolf writes that her modest goal for this ground breaking essay is to encourage the young women
they seem to get fearfully depressed (qtd. in Gordon xiv). This treatise on the history of women s

She preserves this intimacy in the written essay as well. Woolf s nephew and biographer, Quentin Bell,
writes that in A Room of One s Own one hears Virginia speaking . . . . she gets very close to her
conversational style (144). Rather than submit her audience to the usual dictation of the expert to the
ignorant (Marcus, Virginia 145), Woolf involves her audience in her quest for answers. She advises
them that she plans to make use of all the liberties and licenses of a novelist, that her fiction is likely
to contain more truth than fact, and that they must seek out this truth and . . . decide whether any part
of it is worth keeping (4 5). She does not disclose the truth as she sees it ; rather, she requires the
audience to participate in the drama of asking questions and searching for Woolf s creative departure
from established lecture style delightfully foreshadows her intent to generate entirely new feminine
traditions and searching for answers (Marcus, Virginia 145).
Woolf encourages women to personally participate and identify with her ideas. She creates a fictitious
narrator through which she chronicles her thoughts and discoveries as she researches the topic of
women and fiction, I is only a convenient term for somebody who has no real being . . . call me Mary

Living in rural towns can be challenging for us elderly folks. In order for me to receive medical
attention, I would wait the next day to drive miles to see the doctor, Ms. Washington. Clearly the
deficiencies in the health care profession are a major issue for low class citizens, specifically the
elderly, living in rural areas that deserve attention. As a result, health care facilities and physicians in
rural areas go by the population with health benefits so they can assist the patient. Otherwise, if the
patient does not have health benefits would have to wait longer or seek medical support from a
distance. A study was conducted comparing the access and quality of health care in rural and urban
areas to see if both areas were equivalent to each other. The result showed a significant deficiency in
rural areas (Reschovsky Staiti, 2005). In addition to the results, three sets were identified between

The Student s Chair For An Adult

every child s work in one place instead of bumping into another child for space. I gave extra space in
between the groups for more clear traffic patterns for the children to walk to the carpet, their cubbies,
or other areas of the room. After arranging them like this there is even more space in the classroom
which hopefully prevents chaos. Another area I modified in this classroom is the Cubby Area. The
cubbies in my CT s class are in an L shape against the far left corner. Every morning and afternoon the

gives the children more space to gather or put up their belongings in turn makes it safer. There is a

classroom door. In the top left corner is the new reading area. It has a bookcase that is easily
accessible to the students along with two bean bags for the children to sit on while reading. This area

has further propelled its initiatives toward economic reform such as opening up of markets and

There are associated ethical considerations to several of the recommended changes. Strengthening the
interview and hiring process will help to eliminate the hiring of unqualified candidates whose only
experience with the work is through a personal connection with existing employees. This will help to
ensure that candidates with the proper qualifications are placed in positions that are currently
experiencing inefficiences. Reevaluating the material suppliers could potentially eliminate any
improper compensation between current management and the supplier and reduce the acceptance of
inferior materials. Increasing the proper storage of accepted material will not only elimate the waste of
improperly stored materials, but also reduces the risk management threat of theft by employees. These
are the ethical considerations of several of the recommended changes. Upon deciding whether to make
or buy products, the company must consider several items. Management must exam the company s
variable cost compared to the costs associated with buying, as well as any fixed costs that would arise
due to purchasing rather than making (Nobles et. al., 2014). Management must also consider what the

Essay On International Non Governmental Organization
Research an International Non Governmental Organization that works on behalf of human rights
issues.
The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) defines an INGO as any organization
which is not established by inter governmental agreement (Resolution 288 (X) 27 February 1950),
including organizations which accept members designated by government authorities, provided that
such membership does not interfere with the free expression of views of the organizations (Resolution
1296 (XLV) of 25 June 1968).
An international non governmental organization (INGO) has the same mission as a non governmental
organization (NGO), but it is international in scope and has outposts around the world to deal with
specific issues in many countries.
International Non governmental Organizations can further be defined by their primary purpose. Some
INGOs are operational, meaning that their primary purpose is to foster the community based
organizations within each country via different projects and operations. Some INGOs are advocacy
based, meaning that their primary purpose is to influence the policy making of different countries
governments regarding certain issues or promote the awareness of a certain issue. Many of the large
INGOs have components of both operational projects and advocacy initiatives working together
within individual countries.

Censorship is Not an Effective Way to Protect Children Essay
Teachers suspended, radio and television personalities fired, authors disinvited to speaking events, all

not in a time now, where people pride themselves on having an open mind and the ability of forward

Reflective Essay For Journalism
I selected journalism as my elective for this year because I wanted to continue the journalism career
that I began in middle school since it allowed me to write about topics that grasped my interest and
passion aside from writing required essays in a classroom setting. In addition, I believed that this
course would allow me to improve my writing skills by learning the ethical, grammatical, and
organizational concepts relating to journalism, such as the code of ethics, the inverted pyramid, and
the editorial hierarchy. I also hoped for the course to help me with responsibility and time
management since I knew I would have to write articles and have other loads of works from other
classes. Not to mention, journalism has allowed me to be motivated to write an outstanding article not
for the grade, but for the sole purpose to make the article right. In middle school journalism was an
extracurricular activity and this year I was graded on my personal interests, my time management, and
my writing quality rather than on the actual learning of a subject. This course has challenged me to
write outstanding pieces of work based on my motivation and time management as well without as
many guidelines and structure given. It also made me a lot more confident since it requires interaction
outside of class to acquire sources for articles. Thus, through reporting I able to establish a rapport

such materialistic possessions. Kanye West is an African American rapper, producer, and entrepreneur,
who articulates his struggle with consumerism and the struggle for those around him in his song All

In the first verse, West introduces a woman who has her problems with materialism. To elaborate on

Cash Budgeting

Using a Cash Budget for Planning Purposes
Introduction
Let me begin by explaining what a cash budget is. A cash budget is a tool that helps individuals and
companies forecast a short term financing needs. Investopedia defines a cash budget as, an estimation
of the cash inflows and outflows for a business or individual for a specific period of time. (Cash
Budget) A cash budget is used to determine the borrower s ability to generate cash and repay debt. A
cash budget also provides an estimate of a company s or an individual s short term cash position.
In this paper I will reveal the primary uses of cash budgets, as well as lay out a format for a cash
budget, explain which borrowers should prepare a cash budget ... Show more content on

Banks use cash budgets to determine when customizers are likely to need to borrow and to assure
themselves that borrowers will be able to repay the loans. On occasion the bank may want to rework
the cash budget and distinguish how unexpected changes in cash flow assumptions change it. So if
sales were lower than expected how would the company be doing and are they going to be able to
make good on their commitment to the bank. This could enable the bank to uncover financing needs
for foreseen by the company. For example when the cash flow shows the company produces less than
its minimum cash requirement, the company will need to borrow money. If its cash flow is monitored
monthly rather than quarterly or semiannually, a company can react to problems more quickly. If it
appears that budgeted amounts could be significantly different from the past statements, then further
attention should be given to the budget. Some factors affecting the budget may have been overlooked
or past statement relationships may no longer be applicable, due to unnoticed changes. (White, 1997)
However it is not only companies who benefit from constructing a cash budget. For individuals, a cash
budget is a good method of determining where your cash is regularly being spent. This is

Anne Frank, Nelson Mandela And Louis Zamperini
After reading many stories about people being incarcerated by their environments, you would think
they would just accept it or give up. Shockingly in many of the stories I ve read the exact opposite
happens and they fight through these tough situations and always manage to stay positive no matter
what is thrown at them. Anne Frank, Nelson Mandela and Louis Zamperini are perfect examples of
people who were physically and emotionally incarcerated and they never let it bring them down.
Instead, they used their incarceration as motivation to better the situation they were in.
Reading many of the poems in class really gives you a sense of how a person is feeling in such little
words. It describes the environment around them, how they are dealing with is and what their thoughts

Estrogen Levels
Home
All men experience a drop in their levels of testosterone as they age. This usually begins as soon as
they are in their early 30 s. And though aging is nothing to fear, this natural diminishing of the
hormone causes unwanted side effects that can affect a man s fertility, sexuality, and health. This is
because low testosterone levels can lead to estrogen dominance in a man, and a hormone imbalance is
created. But to raise the testosterone levels, one must also lower the estrogen levels. Because of this,
some men are starting to use a natural anti estrogen product to help them regain their sense of
masculinity, so they look and feel younger.
Why Should Men Worry About Estrogen Levels?
Just as some people think that testosterone is strictly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Answer: There are many estroblockers available on the market. They all have different ingredients and
attributes that make them. To find the best one for you, do some research on each of them. But be sure
to only take the natural based kind because other pharmaceutical types can have some dangerous side
effects to them.
Question: Will changes to my estrogen levels affect my fertility?
Answer: Too much estrogen in a man s body decreases his sperm count and can also cause impotence
or difficulty performing sexually. By lowering high levels of estrogen, these negative effects are
reversed, so a man s fertility is improved.
Question: Will lowering my estrogen help with my acne?
Answer: Acne can be caused by an imbalance of hormones in the body, so by correcting this
imbalance, many men will find that their skin becomes clearer. However, initially there might be an
increase in acne until the hormones level out. Keeping the skin clean and free from oil and dirt will
also help to reduce blemishes though.

Travelling As A Common Hobby
How Travel has Evolved from Necessity to Pleasure People travel to various destinations for different
reasons, but the ultimate goal of most travelers, is to explore the sites of interests that they may not

work, or school, the trends indicate that travelling for pleasure has become a common hobby (Pooley).
Travelling has evolved in many aspects, including the reasons for travelling and efficiency with which
people can travel from one location to another. In this paper, the meaning of travelling to different
people, changes in travelling for America ns over the years, and the way travelling for leisure came
about will be discussed. Travelling means different things to different people. For example, there is a
group of travelers that is comprised of people who lead a nomadic lifestyle. These people enjoy
diversity and they are likely to consider travelling as a way of life (Dunn). Another category of
travelers is a group of people who work away from their relatives. This group of people often travels
upcountry, not just to meet their relatives, but also to e1tjoy the rural environment. In addition, the

At the Time of the Louisville Flood Essay
The image I have chosen is one by Margaret Bourke White, titled At the Time of the Louisville Flood .

Having this photography in black and white makes the subject
Furthermore, this photograph is more powerful in black and white rather than in color because the
contrast between the main subjects is more obvious. It is taken from an ordinary perspective and angle
which draws the viewers in easily. The picture is therefore divided into two parts supplement to each
other from this point of view.
This is an effective and influential piece due to the issue brought up by the irony. Through her
photograph, Margaret Bourke White successfully depicted the living standard of African Americans in
reality back in the 1930 s compared to the so called American dream. This is one of my favorite
photographs because of the truthfulness it represents. This image not only brings the suffering of the
flood victims to the viewers but also demonstrates the mock made by the billboard toward the victims.
If this photograph is presented without any descriptions and title, it would make little sense to the
spectators. Without showing the very front of the bread line, it would be hard for viewers to know who

Mediation Is An Effective Method Of Dispute Resolution
One of the most peaceful and highly sought after ways of resolving conflict is mediation. It is the
process where a mutually acceptable third party, with no authority to make descisions, intervenes and
helps involved parties improve their relationships, enhance communication, and use effective problem
solving and negotiation procedures to reach mutually understanding or agreement.
Based on the current research found, mediation is an effective method of dispute resolution. In studies
prior to 1990, the reported settlement rate was approximately 60 percent and for the 1990 2000
decade, the reported rate on average was 75 percent . For our most recent decade, this rate is about the

For example, in the case study we did in lecture, many a times the reasons behind another person s
actions is not solely because of money, but rather by principles and values that were violated by the
other party. Hence when one party understands the circumstances and personal reasons certain actions
were made by another, movement from entrenched positions become more possible.
Lastly, once they are able to air their moral framework, and come to a common solution, the end result
would be parties feeling psychologically more complete and satisfied. According to an article by Dr
Pinzon Salcedo (2002), that by not having a deeper reflection of one s true purpose in the mediation
process, close to 25% of participants who reach an agreement still express dissatisfaction.
On one of the mediation discussions we had, we realised that as the facts behind each party s anger
and resentment were not provided, this always leaves the opposite party feeling confused and
frustrated by the behaviour of the aggrieved person. Upon having a sharing of their moral framework
privately or openly, the mediation moves from the realm of physical demands, to really addressing the
root of the problem behind any hostilities. Therefore, when a successful mediation occurs, both parties
are psychologically more at peace with the decisions that are being made. This is large in part due to
their own form justice or beliefs are being satisfied as

Effects Of Equestrianism On Horse Riding
Equestrianism or what it is more typically known as to Americans, horseback riding, is considered one
of the oldest sports. It has been said that horseback riding was known to be an intense sport among
men. It is not only physically challenging because it requires an athletic build for it, but because it
takes tolerance, dedication, time, and the most important one of all is building and strengthening that
bond with the horse. If there is no relationship between the two then there isn t going to be a good
experience for the two. Time is needed to train and bond since horseback riding is a team sport. The
sport can become highly dangerous for the equestrian or the professional rider whenever, since there is
not a moment of time when the rider s life is at risk while riding the horse. Hence that is why
equestrianism is considered one of the top leading sports for causing traumatic brain injury.
Neurological Focus Journal has found that horseback riding causes the most traumatic brain injuries
among adults and it wasn t a contact sport that caused it. In the database, 45.2 percent of TBI among
adults were related to horseback riding, dwarfing the other causes. The second leading cause of sports
related traumatic brain injury was falls or hits from contact sports like football and soccer, but that
accounted for just 20.2 percent of TBIs. (ABCNews, Gillian Mohney). Even on a normal day to day
basis, horseback riding resulted at a higher rate when being admitted to a hospital

Money, Bond, Returns, And Amortization Schedule Essay
Money, Bond Returns, and Amortization Schedule The three financial markets, money, bonds and
mortgage markets play a large role in the financial industry. Money markets are highly liquid
investments that are held for one year or less, and include Treasury Bills. Furthermore, bonds are long
term investments issued by corporations and the U.S. government and are held for more than one year.
The mortgage market creates loans used to finance the real estate market, once mortgages are issued
on a property, banking institutions securitize the mortgages and sell them on the secondary market
(CSU Global, 2016). Therefore, these three financial markets are very broad in nature, which can
cause a great impact on the financial market.
Treasury Bills Money market securities are short term instruments created by governments and
corporations to obtain short term funding. Treasury bills (T bills) are common instruments used in the
money market and are issued by the U.S. government. Moreover, T bills are used by the government
to refinance maturing debt and to cover budget deficits. The Federal Reserve also uses T bills as one
of their main ways to implement monetary policy (Saunders Cornett, 2015). If a one purchases a T bill
that is 90 days from maturity, for $9,970 and with a face value of $10,000, the quoted yield is 1.200%,
the bond equivalent yield is 1.2201% and the EAR is 1.222% (see Table 1).

  • 2. Statistical Assumptions Of Substantive Analyses Across The... Nimon, K. (2012). Statistical Assumptions of Substantive Analyses Across the General Linear Model: A Mini Review. Frontiers in Psychology Front. Psychology, 3(322). When using inferential statistics depends on the sampling technique used as well as the characteristics of the population data. This dependency does assume that the sample and population meet certain criteria. The criteria is called statistical assumptions, and if there are violations of these statistical assumptions that are not addressed, than the data may not be interpreted correctly. In particular, Type I or Type II errors may be increased or decreased incorrectly. Nimon s (2012) article focused on assumptions associated with substantive statistical analyses across the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using unreliable data may cause underestimation which increase the probability of Type II errors. If there is correlated error, we may see unreliable data to be overestimated which would increase the risk of Type I errors. To satisfy the assumption of error free data, researchers may conduct and report analyses using latent variables as opposed to observed variables. This technique is called structural equation modeling (SEM). This is where latent variables are formed from item scores, the former of which becomes the unit analyzed. It is important to note that SEM is a large sample technique. A researcher can also delete a few items to raise the reliability of an observed score, but this should be reported along with the accompanied estimated of the reliability with and without the deleted items. Some researchers consider measurement to be an assumption while others do not. Nimon (2012) does state because measurement levels play such a pivotal role in statistical analyses decision trees, it would not be recommended to lower the measurement level of data unless certain characteristics are met. This may discard important information and may produce misleading or erroneous information. Yet another assumption, is the assumption that inferential statistics in psychological and educational research produce population data that is normally distributed. This does depend on the analysis conducted, such as univariate, multivariate, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Cognitive Social Learning Theory Cognitive Social Learning Theory John Tabro May 3, 2012 Cognitive Social Learning Theory I have selected this theory primarily because I believe that a great majority of our learning during the course of our entire lives is achieved by observation. Bandura s social cognitive theory is a learning based on the ideas that people learn by watching what others do and that human thought processes are central to understanding personality. While social cognition experts agree that there is a fair amount of influence on development generated by learned behavior displayed in the environment in which one grows up, they believe that the individual person is just as important in determining moral development. People learn by observing others, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While watching and observing children play, you can discover their interests. You can see more than the children just having fun, but you may witness any strengths and/or weaknesses in personality, learning or interactive abilities. By observing children I was able to learn their developmental level, such as who the leader of the group was or what leaders were in competition to lead the play session. Thus observing the children interact I could learn a lot about their respective personalities. From my observation, the child that was obviously in charge of this group had either an older sibling, relative or perhaps was mimicking what he saw on television by directing and giving instruction to the other children who were playing with him. In the game of organized basketball there is one leader on the court for each team. That leader is normally the point guard position. The child may already possess the personality of being a leader, but he had to observe and learn the other details he exuded by watching what he had seen in live action or by television. I can personally relate to this theory the most because in retrospect I realize that a great deal of my behavioral learning was developed through observation. I wouldn t consider where I grew up as a child as being the ghetto , but the area was rough, and I believe it is safe to say that there was a survival of the fittest mentality. There was a certain assertive aggressiveness that I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Value of Education Essay The Value of Education Learning and knowledge are highly prized in all societies, especially here in Ireland, where there is a strong tradition of respect for education. The choices that individuals make when leaving school, in particular whether to pursue higher education or not, are likely to have a long lasting effect on their lifestyle. The main purposes for a University education involve: social, national and educational purposes and for the individual personal purposes and moral development. These topics will be addressed in the following paragraphs. The two main institutions predominantly concerned with education are Universities and Schools. It may be argued that the main purpose of Universities is to advance the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The advantage of widespread education is the cultivation of international skills and attitudes, contributing to the values of university education. This intermingling of cultures and social differences causes a change in the attitudes and outlooks of society. The levelling up of living standards in our economy has created a greater sense of human dignity and freedom replacing an earlier and traditional view of inferiority. Opportunities for education, leading to promotion at work are richer and more varied. Universal education has enhanced individuals view of the world and has created an awareness of the stream of events in other parts of the world. Which up to 1900 was prerogative of perhaps one fifth of the population. (K.G. Collier, 1959:33) Not only does this diversity benefit social purposes but it also has certain national purposes. National reforms in higher education were a result of Europe s ability to collect information from these diverse Universities, and adapt to beneficial procedures. (Robbins report: 41) Consequently this encouraged efficiency throughout the education system, due to high levels of mobility between different European countries, and high standards were therefore demanded. These mutual exchanges of solutions to higher education problems benefit Europe as a community and benefit our Universities both ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Counseling And Delivering Services Under The Best Practice Evidence Based Practice Shallan Jones Walden University Evidenced Based Practices Counseling and delivering services under the best practice should always be the goal of a practitioner. In a field such as counseling, where the lives of others are being impacted, making specific choices on how to deliver services, and making a choice to choose one form of therapy over another is pertinent to not only the successful rehabilitation of a client, but to also ensure the longevity of yourself as a practitioner and as a counselor. • 6. Mahler s 8th Symphony In June 1906, 46 year old Gustav Mahler was struck with inspiration unlike any he had ever had in his life. With this inspiration, he composed his Eighth Symphony in less than two months. Dedicated to My dear wife, Alma Maria and known as Mahler s search for redemption , this symphony was the first of Mahler s works to be an overwhelming success. Mahler s Eighth Symphony connected two choral pieces, Veni, Creator Spiritus (early 9th century) and Goethe s Faust, Part II (1830 1831). These two works were written one thousand years apart, so one would think that the works have very little, if anything, in common. Veni, Creator Spiritus is a Latin Pentecost hymn. Mahler used the final scene of Faust, Part II, in which a solution is presented ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Could Gustav Mahler, a composer that had not composed a triumphantly successful piece in his lifetime, actually compose a piece seen as heaven storming ? In the form of around one thousand musicians. The well dubbed Symphony of the Thousand , by Emil Gutmann, has two sets of instrumentalists, an onstage orchestra, and an offstage brass choir. Onstage consists of two piccolos, five flutes, four oboes, an English horn, an E Flat clarinet, three clarinets in B Flat and A, a bass clarinet in B Flat and A, four bassoons, a contrabassoon, eight horns, four trumpets, four trombones, a tuba, timpani with two players, a triangle, three cymbals, a bass drum, tam tam, deep bells in A and A Flat, a glockenspiel, celesta, piano, harmonium, organ, two harps, mandolin, and of course a string section. Offstage consists of a brass choir of four trumpets and three trombones. While the amount of instrumentalists on stage is already astounding, Mahler then also calls for a tremendous vocal section with eight soloists, two mixed choirs, and a children s choir. • 9. The Flow of the River, by Loren Eiseley Essay When reflecting and writing on Eiseley s essay and the magical element , I balk. I think to myself, What magic? , and then put pen to page. I dubiously choose a kiddie pool to draw inspiration from, and unexpectedly, inspiration flows into me. As I sit here in this little 10x30 foot backyard, the sky is filled with the flowing gaseous form of water, dark patches of moist earth speckle the yard, the plants soak up their scattered watering, and the leaves of bushes and trees imbue the space with a sense of dampness from their foliage. As my senses tune into the moisture that surrounds me, I fill Braedon s artificial pond with water. Of all the ways Eiseley imparts his impressions of water and the manner its magic impregnates the world, the one not mentioned is the most intriguing to me. The way he was moved to write about water because of its relationship to his past, is waters definitive magic. The concept of water was the vehicle that transported his feelings to thoughts, and from thoughts to his narrative. He found enchantment where others would have just found a mundane substance. He even writes, ...the enormous mindlessness of space settles down upon the soul. There are others that would contend that there is more magic in the cosmos than in water, but there is a resonance that is stirred in Eiseley, by water s magic. When I sit and think about water, these are some sentiments that stream from me: water, an oasis of cool relief for my throat, when sand dunes and wandering Bedouin nomads migrate on the desert of my tongue; the last days of elementary school when the tease of a late spring swim hints at the summer to come, and the time spent slipping the bonds of my corporeal existence, floating in that ethereal substance; of the cool shade of broad leafed trees drawing water up to their verdant canopy to their aquatic reservoir, sharing a respite from the unforgiving heat of an afternoon sun. Personality is the distinctive and relatively enduring way of thinking, feeling and acting that characterises a person s responses to life situations. (O Brien 2011:103) The three key elements of Freud s tripartite personality structure are the id, the ego and the superego. These three elements are used in almost every decision a person makes on a day to day basis. The structure is mostly compared to an ice berg with a small bit of the ego being above the water which would be the conscious and the id and the superego being underneath the water and unconscious. For example when the cash flow shows the company produces less than its minimum cash requirement, the company will need to borrow money. If its cash flow is monitored monthly rather than quarterly or semiannually, a company can react to problems more quickly. If it appears that budgeted amounts could be significantly different from the past statements, then further attention should be given to the budget. Some factors affecting the budget may have been overlooked or past statement relationships may no longer be applicable, due to unnoticed changes. • 32. Anne Frank, Nelson Mandela And Louis Zamperini After reading many stories about people being incarcerated by their environments, you would think they would just accept it or give up. Shockingly in many of the stories I ve read the exact opposite happens and they fight through these tough situations and always manage to stay positive no matter what is thrown at them. Anne Frank, Nelson Mandela and Louis Zamperini are perfect examples of people who were physically and emotionally incarcerated and they never let it bring them down. Instead, they used their incarceration as motivation to better the situation they were in. Reading many of the poems in class really gives you a sense of how a person is feeling in such little words. It describes the environment around them, how they are dealing with is and what their thoughts are on it. A poem I feel does incredibly well with this this Some Advice to Those Who Will Serve Time in Prison . This poem describes a man in prison with a lot of time to serve and how he feels about it. He describes prison as making him start to lose himself and how much it really affects his outlook on life. Prison makes him feel powerless and like he has no control of his life because he can t make decisions for himself anymore. He can t control when he eats, showers or even when he wakes up in the morning, basically the only thing he can control is how he deals with this new way of life. He says [p]art of you may live alone inside, / like a stone at the bottom of a well (Judith Tannenbaum, 19). This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Estrogen Levels Home All men experience a drop in their levels of testosterone as they age. This usually begins as soon as they are in their early 30 s. And though aging is nothing to fear, this natural diminishing of the hormone causes unwanted side effects that can affect a man s fertility, sexuality, and health. This is because low testosterone levels can lead to estrogen dominance in a man, and a hormone imbalance is created. But to raise the testosterone levels, one must also lower the estrogen levels. Because of this, some men are starting to use a natural anti estrogen product to help them regain their sense of masculinity, so they look and feel younger. Why Should Men Worry About Estrogen Levels? Just as some people think that testosterone is strictly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Answer: There are many estroblockers available on the market. They all have different ingredients and attributes that make them. To find the best one for you, do some research on each of them. But be sure to only take the natural based kind because other pharmaceutical types can have some dangerous side effects to them. Question: Will changes to my estrogen levels affect my fertility? Answer: Too much estrogen in a man s body decreases his sperm count and can also cause impotence or difficulty performing sexually. By lowering high levels of estrogen, these negative effects are reversed, so a man s fertility is improved. Question: Will lowering my estrogen help with my acne? Answer: Acne can be caused by an imbalance of hormones in the body, so by correcting this imbalance, many men will find that their skin becomes clearer. However, initially there might be an increase in acne until the hormones level out. Keeping the skin clean and free from oil and dirt will also help to reduce blemishes though. ... Although almost everyone travels on a daily basis to go to their offices, businesses, work, or school, the trends indicate that travelling for pleasure has become a common hobby (Pooley). Travelling has evolved in many aspects, including the reasons for travelling and efficiency with which people can travel from one location to another. In this paper, the meaning of travelling to different people, changes in travelling for America ns over the years, and the way travelling for leisure came about will be discussed. Travelling means different things to different people. For example, there is a group of travelers that is comprised of people who lead a nomadic lifestyle. These people enjoy diversity and they are likely to consider travelling as a way of life (Dunn). Another category of travelers is a group of people who work away from their relatives. This group of people often travels upcountry, not just to meet their relatives, but also to e1tjoy the rural environment. In addition, the working class is likely to take vacations and travel to new places. They consider travelling as an opportunity to take a break from work, and enjoy an environment that is different from their routine and work settings. Moreover, there are some people who work in ... • 35. At the Time of the Louisville Flood Essay The image I have chosen is one by Margaret Bourke White, titled At the Time of the Louisville Flood . Margaret Bourke White was born on June 14, 1904. She first gained recognition as an industrial photographer based in Cleveland, Ohio and worked for the magazine company known as Fortune. She then became one of the founding member for the magazine LIFE, having shot the very first cover of their magazine. Margaret s name became world famous for her amazing photographs, even more impressive to have accomplished this at a time when is was a man s world. This photograph really gets my attention due to the great irony illustrated in it. When looking at this picture I first take notice to the huge billboard at the back of the setting in ... It is taken from an ordinary perspective and angle which draws the viewers in easily. The picture is therefore divided into two parts supplement to each other from this point of view. This is an effective and influential piece due to the issue brought up by the irony. Through her photograph, Margaret Bourke White successfully depicted the living standard of African Americans in reality back in the 1930 s compared to the so called American dream. This is one of my favorite photographs because of the truthfulness it represents. This image not only brings the suffering of the flood victims to the viewers but also demonstrates the mock made by the billboard toward the victims. If this photograph is presented without any descriptions and title, it would make little sense to the spectators. Without showing the very front of the bread line, it would be hard for viewers to know who are the people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Mediation Is An Effective Method Of Dispute Resolution One of the most peaceful and highly sought after ways of resolving conflict is mediation. It is the process where a mutually acceptable third party, with no authority to make descisions, intervenes and helps involved parties improve their relationships, enhance communication, and use effective problem solving and negotiation procedures to reach mutually understanding or agreement. Based on the current research found, mediation is an effective method of dispute resolution. In studies prior to 1990, the reported settlement rate was approximately 60 percent and for the 1990 2000 decade, the reported rate on average was 75 percent . For our most recent decade, this rate is about the same, roughly and 80 percent agreement rate. One of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, in the case study we did in lecture, many a times the reasons behind another person s actions is not solely because of money, but rather by principles and values that were violated by the other party. Hence when one party understands the circumstances and personal reasons certain actions were made by another, movement from entrenched positions become more possible. Lastly, once they are able to air their moral framework, and come to a common solution, the end result would be parties feeling psychologically more complete and satisfied. According to an article by Dr Pinzon Salcedo (2002), that by not having a deeper reflection of one s true purpose in the mediation process, close to 25% of participants who reach an agreement still express dissatisfaction. On one of the mediation discussions we had, we realised that as the facts behind each party s anger and resentment were not provided, this always leaves the opposite party feeling confused and frustrated by the behaviour of the aggrieved person. Upon having a sharing of their moral framework privately or openly, the mediation moves from the realm of physical demands, to really addressing the root of the problem behind any hostilities. Therefore, when a successful mediation occurs, both parties are psychologically more at peace with the decisions that are being made. This is large in part due to their own form justice or beliefs are being satisfied as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. Effects Of Equestrianism On Horse Riding Equestrianism or what it is more typically known as to Americans, horseback riding, is considered one of the oldest sports. It has been said that horseback riding was known to be an intense sport among men. It is not only physically challenging because it requires an athletic build for it, but because it takes tolerance, dedication, time, and the most important one of all is building and strengthening that bond with the horse. If there is no relationship between the two then there isn t going to be a good experience for the two. Time is needed to train and bond since horseback riding is a team sport. The sport can become highly dangerous for the equestrian or the professional rider whenever, since there is not a moment of time when the rider s life is at risk while riding the horse. Hence that is why equestrianism is considered one of the top leading sports for causing traumatic brain injury. Neurological Focus Journal has found that horseback riding causes the most traumatic brain injuries among adults and it wasn t a contact sport that caused it. In the database, 45.2 percent of TBI among adults were related to horseback riding, dwarfing the other causes. The second leading cause of sports related traumatic brain injury was falls or hits from contact sports like football and soccer, but that accounted for just 20.2 percent of TBIs. (ABCNews, Gillian Mohney). Even on a normal day to day basis, horseback riding resulted at a higher rate when being admitted to a hospital ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Money, Bond, Returns, And Amortization Schedule Essay Money, Bond Returns, and Amortization Schedule The three financial markets, money, bonds and mortgage markets play a large role in the financial industry. Money markets are highly liquid investments that are held for one year or less, and include Treasury Bills. Furthermore, bonds are long term investments issued by corporations and the U.S. government and are held for more than one year. The mortgage market creates loans used to finance the real estate market, once mortgages are issued on a property, banking institutions securitize the mortgages and sell them on the secondary market (CSU Global, 2016). Therefore, these three financial markets are very broad in nature, which can cause a great impact on the financial market. Treasury Bills Money market securities are short term instruments created by governments and corporations to obtain short term funding. Treasury bills (T bills) are common instruments used in the money market and are issued by the U.S. government. Moreover, T bills are used by the government to refinance maturing debt and to cover budget deficits. The Federal Reserve also uses T bills as one of their main ways to implement monetary policy (Saunders Cornett, 2015). If a one purchases a T bill that is 90 days from maturity, for $9,970 and with a face value of $10,000, the quoted yield is 1.200%, the bond equivalent yield is 1.2201% and the EAR is 1.222% (see Table 1).
