Breast Cancer Report
1.Introduction
1.1 Introduction
Human epidermal growth factor (HER2) is a specialised protein that has the ability to control the
growth and spread of certain cancers. Breast cancer is defined as HER2 positive (HER2+) when there
is an extremely high level of HER2 receptors present within the cancerous tumour of the breast tissue
(Macmillan, 2013).
1.2 Aims and objectives
This report aims to give an overview on breast cancer focusing on the HER2+ sub type of the disease;
it includes an overview of aetiology, epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis
and treatment. It will also include how the advances in stratified medicine have helped tailor treatment
for patients suffering from the HER2+ form of breast cancer.

Breast cancer has been the most common cancer in the UK since 1997, in 2011 alone it was
accountable for 30% of all new cancer diagnosed in women (Cancer Research UK, 2014). Between 15
25% of newly diagnosed cases of breast cancer will test positive for the over expression of the HER2
protein (Macmillan, 2014). The incidence of breast cancer in Northern Ireland is close to the average
for developed countries (NI Cancer Registry, 2011). However for the past 20 years Northern Irelands
incidence has been the lowest in the UK (Cancer Research UK, 2014).
3. Pathophysiology
Like all cancers, breast cancer develops because of defects in the DNA of a single cell. Cancers arise
when there is an accumulation of genetic mutations within genes that control cell growth and division
or the repair of damaged DNA. This causes damage allowing cells to grow and divide uncontrollably
forming a tumour. These mutations are called somatic mutations and are not inherited (GHR, 2007) In
addition to these genetic changes researchers have identified many other factors that increase the risk
of developing of breast cancer, these were previously mentioned.
4. Clinical Presentation
The symptoms of breast cancer can be categorised into early stage

Comfort Women In Ww2
World War II was a gruesome era filled with violence and death. Each country was in a competition to
find the deadliest weapons. War crimes were highly prevalent throughout this time, such as the
Holocaust, inhumane experimentations, and the Japanese internment. One is often overlooked and
barely spoken of: comfort women. Comfort women were girls and women from Japanese territories
coerce into sex slavery for the Japanese military. The idea behind it was to prevent rape and to reduce
sexually transmitted diseases in the army; however, this came at the expense of innocent women and
girls. Women and girls were tricked or kidnapped to be raped. They were forced into horrific living
condition. While the living conditions were horrible, the scars ... Show more content on

In Chinese Comfort Women: Testimonies from Imperial Japan s Sex Slaves, Liu Mianhuan, a former
comfort woman, recalls, Several military men raped me that day. ... From that day on, the Japanese
troops raped me every day. Each day at least five to six men would come... (7 8). Not only did they
have to experience rape, but also torture, starved, and forced to do labor.
For the comfort women, the hardest thing to do from their experience was to learn to cope with the
trauma if they had survived. According to the United Nations, Only about 25 per cent of these women
are said to have survived these daily abuses (39). They have to live their lives anguished and ashamed
for something they could not control. They would hide the truth from their families. Many of these
women developed mental disorders, like post traumatic stress disorder. Other experienced infertility or
had a physical disability. The worst part of the aftermath is the Japanese government refusing to
acknowledge this has ever occurred. De Brouwer, an author, has written, Until 1992, the Japanese
government has denied any responsibility for the sexual slavery system during World War II... (8). It
has been noted that it is rarely mentioned in history books. Rebuffing atonement to the remaining
comfort women, this strains the relationship between the Japanese government, the surviving comfort
women and the South Korean

The Bio Ecological Theory Created By Bronfenbrenner
Throughout the world there are many homeless individuals who are in need of help. Many of these
people have trouble finding a job or a way to help themselves get stable. Not a lot of the homeless
know how to handle money or illnesses they have developed. Many homeless also suffer from
addictions and are in need of rehabilitation programs. The cause of these illnesses or drug problems
can be related to the fact that when growing up they suffered from different life changes and
expectations within the bio ecological theory or context. For my Service Learning Project I have
implemented a project that I believe will help the homeless community with their second chance. As
we grow up we associate ourselves with different people and environments no matter how old we are
or get we still see different people and different environments. The bio ecological theory created by
Bronfenbrenner, which explains just that with contexts of development. With the contexts of
development there are the biological, immediate, socioeconomic, and cultural contexts. All of these
contexts play a role in whether or not your life heads in a good or bad path. In every context there is a
different association from people and the environment such as cultural context which can provide the
belief in society that education is important.(Boyd, 2015) However, the belief that education is
important can be downgraded in the socioeconomic context if a family does not have the ability to
send their child to a

Human Genetic Cloning In Lincoln Six Echo And Jordan Two...
The Island is one of the best science fiction movies of all time. Directed by famous movie director
Micheal Bay, The Island explores the post modern and near future of science fiction themes that are
raising issues about human genetic cloning, class warfare, and the identity of the clones whether they
are human or not. The primary theme of The Island is human genetic cloning Unknown to the two
protagonist s, Lincoln Six Echo and Jordan Two Delta. Who are genetic replicas of wealthy sponsors

2009 Waka Flocka signed to 1017 Brick Squad and the Warner Bros. Waka Flocka Flame made an
appearance at UIUC s State Farm Center on December 2nd, 2017 with his entourage. Waka Flocka has

Waka Flock s concert were primarily for his two albums Flockaveli and Triple F Life: Friends, Fans
and Family. Besides Waka Flocka playing his street based, gang related music, he also contributed
elcetro/techno remix music to relate to an opposite ethnicity since he had a diverse group of fans. As a

One song that excited the crowd greatly is his bill board hit O lets Do It. I feel that this song was
greatly important because of course it showed the ratchet part of Hip Hop and the punchline Flocka
can you be my baby daddy , but it also gave a sense of togetherness between different ethnicities since
this line is greatly appreciated by Caucasian girls around my age. Being an active listener, this song
opened doors for the idea of family within the crowd. We all could relate in some manner within this
song. However, Waka Flocka did perform 6 other songs, but this was the one that exemplified the
most diversity and togetherness. This has been a turn in Hip Hop because not all artist create a sense
of music that would relate across multiple ethnicities especially since its Trap music. Throughout the
sets, Waka Flocka s presentation and participating shook the crowd. Withn the lyrics, money, gender
and other themes were touched on, but within his lyrics identity, race and class wasn t present.
However, his performance allowed those of other ethnicities to feel the way those who come from the
slums feel. It gave them perspective or an sense of being able to relate. As previously stated, I was a
huge Waka Flocka fan and that same punch line always gets, so I was able to share the same moments.

Fingerprints And Fingerprints Of Fingerprints
As humans, we each contain our own unique fingerprints. Our fingerprints are so remarkably
distinctive that even identical twins do not share the same fingerprints . Because the palm surfaces of
our hands and feet retain the same constant ridges throughout our lifetimes, customary methods of
fingerprinting were able to exploit this for purposes of identification. Under the context of forensic
science, there are various types of fingerprints: impression, patent, and latent . An impression
fingerprint is what would be found if someone pressed his or her thumb down in clay for instance. It
creates a mold of sorts. A patent fingerprints are typically found on surfaces and can be visibly seen.
For example, window fingerprints or fingerprints ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The origin of fingerprint identification dates back to the late 19th century when groundbreaking
research on fingerprints was first published in the British scientific journal. Shortly after, Sir Galton
would make the popular fingerprint categorizations of arches, loops, and whorls. Fueled with this new
research, police agencies in London and Argentina began utilizing fingerprints as tools for
identification within their departments . In 1906, Captain Joseph A. Faurot of the New York City
police department was one of the first proponents to promote fingerprints for the purpose of criminal
investigation in the United States. In 1924, the Federal Bureau of Investigation began to formulate the
first fingerprint databases. This was essential to the viability of fingerprint identification as it served as
a catalyst for the databases we use today.
Today, the dominant framework used by fingerprint experts is the ACE V, short for analysis,
comparison, evaluation, and verification . Although the ACE V frame was developed and fingerprint
identification has been exercised for years, the validity of finger printing as a tool of identification
remains questionable. To understand this lack of certainty, we can delve into two clear opposing
opinions regarding fingerprint identification. Many in the academic

Response To Cradle
In Cradle to Cradle by William McDonough and Michael Braungart, the two authors take into great
detail by explaining the cradle to grave manufacturing system. The system explains every step of a
product s life from the creation to the disposal of the product. It is important to learn about this system
because in order for a company to track and take responsibility of their hazardous waste. The system
itself explained where products are created and the mass production goes into this system without
enough consideration for human health and the environment. McDonough and Braungart promote for
a new framework where companies take into consideration at every step of a product s lifestyle. In the

In order to recycle these products is by three steps: items are collected, cleaned and formed into
something new, and the new item is ready to buy by the consumers. The way PETE bottles are
recycled is by grounding up the bottle till it is in flakes. Second, the flakes are washed and dried. Then
finally, the flakes are melted, the plastic can be molded into a new product. Again, these industries can
be more sustainable and be more considered to the planet is by adopting a new system, cradle to cradle
. Unlike the cradle to grave system, the cradle to cradle system is more sustainable. In Cradle to
Cradle, the title itself explains the concept of this new approach which is for designing intelligent
products . The meaning of intelligent products is by describing the entire lifecycle of the product.
Also, cradle to cradle is not only to describe the life cycle of the item, but the other aspects behind the
lifecycle. For example, the product should be optimizing material health, recyclability, renewable
energy use, water efficiency, quality, and social responsibility (Fryslan). These aspects support the

Iwo Jima Thesis
Among the Americans who served on Iwo Island, uncommon valor was a common virtue. Those were
the words of Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, who served as an Admiral on the island of Iwo Jima. He was
a man who knew many, many soldiers to be his friends on the island. Admiral Nimitz, who he watched
fight and die in one of the bloodiest battles of World War ll, was a man of honor and always tried to
put his men in the best position possible. This battle is well worth knowing about. Especially because
if it hadn t happened, at least 24,000 lives would not have been saved. The U.S marines secured Iwo
Jima after sacrificing everything they had to save the lives of others. The heart of these soldiers cannot
be described in a simple essay so here is just a little bit of what these courageous troops gave up. ...

Violence In Youth Sports
On the day of August 8, 2000, in the town of Middlesex, Missouri, a father was charged with beating
up another dad to death in an argument over their sons youth hockey game. The next month his son
pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge for giving a rival player a paralyzing injury. A famous saying
is that this apple did not fall too far from its tree. For example, an adult involved in youth sports
(either as a parent or coach), already know that children today are a lot more involved in sports than
they were when they were a kid. As a child athlete, their mind is set on one and one thing only, going
professional. On the other hand, do the kids think of the cuts or bruises, the screaming of the coaches

while wrestling and cheerleading round out the top three in terms of concussion rate, with 15 per
10,000 and 12 per 10,000, respectively. There are some solutions to keeping violence away from
sports. Some areas offer pre season sportsmanship seminars to parents of young athletes, while other
youth sports leagues have been forced to mandate spectator silence during games ( Parent ). As of
now, there is no consensus on the appropriate age for sport specialization. Some literature reveals that
some believe specialization may begin as early as age 10, while others advocate for puberty as the
minimum age for focusing on one sport. All agree, however, that too much, too soon, at too great of an
intensity leads to injury. Participation in sports should be a positive experience for kids. There are
many characteristics developed in children who play sports such as confidence, self esteem,
leadership, respect, independence, assertiveness, and conflict resolution, to name a few. Parents and
coaches need to be positive role models who support the efforts of these young athletes and keep the

The Creature In The Lagoon
The Creature in the Lagoon
If only Jacqueline and I had listened to our parents and not ventured into the lagoon, Elaine thought.
Elaine and Jacqueline were growing up in a condominium facing Lake Ontario in downtown Toronto
on Queen s Quay Boulevard. Their parents, Dennis and Roberta, were both lawyers. Elaine was
fourteen and Jacqueline was sixteen. The lagoon in question was located at Hanlon s Point, next to the
Toronto Islands.
Dennis and Roberta had always warned Elaine and Jacqueline to stay away from the lagoon.
The lagoon is not safe, Dennis cautioned. It is private property, owned by the Harbour Commission.
Why? asked Elaine.
Because the lagoon contains an amphibious creature, Roberta answered. It is built like a man, but it
looks like a fish. It stands upright with what looks like legs, but it is scaly and has sharp teeth like a
shark and claws instead of hands.
The parents warnings seemed silly to Elaine and Jacqueline. Both girls thought it would be fun to
explore the lagoon.
One day, Elaine and Jacqueline were watching on television an old movie called The Lagoon
Creature. The so called creature, the mysterious man fish, was half amphibious, half human, and
resembled the creature their mother had told them about. Elaine was squirming with fear, although
Jacqueline was laughing.
Do you actually believe in these creatures? Elaine asked Jacqueline.
No, I don t, Jacqueline answered. The story on TV is made up, just like our parents keep telling us
there is a man built like a fish in the lagoon. Our friends from school walk around the lagoon all the
time. I have never heard stories from them about an amphibious creature. They would laugh at this
story.
The next day, it just so happened that Dennis and Roberta were relaxing around the condominium s
swimming pool. Elaine and Jacqueline decided to go down to Eaton s Centre, but as they left their
condominium building to get the Harbourfront bus to Union Station, they decided to take the bus in
the opposite direction to the lagoon, which was located near the Toronto Islands.
No sooner had the girls reached the lagoon than they saw something enormous splashing in it.
Puzzled, they watched the water bubbles and the swirling water. There

My Mother Pieced Quilts Summary
Our heritage and ideals, our hieroglyphics and manual to live, the things we fulfil we teach our
children. Are preserved and carried on or they parrish along with our identity. There are two passages
that abides this; My mother Pieced Quilts by Teresa Palomo and The Keeping Quilt by Patricia
Polacco. Both of these authors present their heritage and remembrance by magnifying quilts to show a
story in of itself that took struggles to get where they are today.
In the poem My mother Pieced Quilts by Teresa Palomo the daughter is expressing the importance of
her mother and that she struggled and strived to where she is today. According to Teresa Palomo you

Beneatha Younger And Walter Lee Character Analysis
In the play, A Raisin in the Sun, Lorraine Hansberry presents various characters with different
personalities. Two key characters, Beneatha Younger and Walter Lee Younger, each have a different
goal that they hope to achieve through the same means. Walter Lee wants to invest his mother s
money into a liquor store and ultimately be able to provide for his family, while Beneatha hopes to
spend her money on medical school to become a doctor, so that she can prove that women are capable
of the same achievements as men. The question remains, which goal is more noble? Although each is
honorable in its own way, we can determine through biblical support that Walter Lee s goal is more
noble. In the beginning of the story, the audience s first impression ... Show more content on

They disagree on virtually everything and her personality is more reputation centered. Beneatha seems
to be more moralistic and principled than Walter Lee, but this does not make her more likeable of a
character. She is more pessimistic than Walter Lee, and is selfish in her own way. She wants to go to
medical school to become a doctor, first, because she seems to have an emotional connection to the
idea of fixing a person s life, but also to prove that women, particularly African American women, can
accomplish the same things that men can accomplish. In act three, at the end of the play, Beneatha
describes to Asagai a childhood memory of the time one of her friends getting badly injured. She says:
One day a kid named Rufus came down too fast and hit the sidewalk and we saw his face just split
open right there in front of us ... And I remember standing there looking at his bloody open face
thinking that was the end of Rufus. But the ambulance came and they took him to the hospital and

Hypertension And Vitamin D Supplementation
Hypertension and vitamin D supplementation
Cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of worldwide mortality and morbidity and
accounted 30% of deaths around the world in 2003 (Vacek et al., 2011). Hypertension is a worldwide
epidemic that has a strong association with age and life patterns (Wuerzner, Burnier Waeber, 2012).
Hypertension has been considered as a major risk factor of myocardial infarction, stroke, heart failure,
peripheral vascular disease, chronic kidney disease, mental health issues and early death (Vacek et al.,
2011; Wuerzner, Burnier Waeber, 2012). If the systolic pressure reaches to 140mm Hg or higher and
diastolic pressure climbs up to 90 mm Hg, this condition can be termed as hypertension (Torpy, Lymn
Glass, 2010, p. 2098).
Evidence suggests that vitamin D insufficiency is associated with hypertension and cardiovascular
disease (Vacek et al., 2011). To treat hypertension, international guidelines recommend use of
pharmaceutical agents which not only reduce blood pressure but also decrease the risk of CAD, stroke,
heart failure and pre mature death (Wuerzner, Burnier Waeber, 2012). Vitamin D is an important
element of bone mineralization and homeostasis however, the role of vitamin D in treating
hypertension is unknown (Geleijnse, 2011). The use of vitamin D to treat hypertension has not been
recognised in the treatment guidelines (Wuerzner, Burnier Waeber, 2012). Some studies on animals
have found that vitamin D may be used to reduce

A Leader Who Doesn t Have Knowledge Of The Best Person As...
Leadership is a term on which no one can reach a consensus as it carries a different meaning and
weightage for each individual. Some people may consider a person as their leader who is capable of
taking them away from hardships or caring for them, or some people may consider a man steeped in
wisdom and learning to be a leader. Difference notwithstanding, there still seems to be some
commonality in all the perspectives behind the definition, which is related to choosing a best of the
best person as their leader. The simple bottom line is that, nobody wants to have a person as his leader
who doesn t have knowledge of the needs and aspirations of his people or who is not blessed with a
certain temperament foe bearing hardships for his people, nor a vision for where they should be or
how they should grow and influence the world around them.
As the founder of tech startup, it is only natural for me to pick a leader who is a true technological
visionary. It was not enough to simply pick someone who created innovative products, or created and
ran a billion dollar company. For me it would have to be someone with the vision to shape the future
and world around him, a person who could see how his works would directly impact the trajectory of
the world and its impact on the human race at large. A true visionary. Therefore, for the purpose of this

The Education System Of South Africa
1. Introduction
In a rainbow nation filled with diversity, the education system is the one system that faces the most
problems implementing a change. Education is one of the most important elements in structuring the
new generation, and with the new South Africa comes new curriculums. The lingering question
though is: Have we improved the education system of South Africa? Is the new curriculum in the best
interest of the country and its future or in the best interest of those people in power in our country?
What challenges do educators face bringing on this transformation curriculum as a tool to form the
minds of young people?
In this paper we will be looking at the education system of the past vs. the future critically. We will
also be analyzing these two aspects of education by means of the Critical Theory.
2. Critical theory
Critical Theory as a method of inquiry is widely used when questioning power structures. The concern
with changing a system, may it be economic, social or political. Higgs and Smith (2015:67).
According to Higgs and Smith (2015:67), critical theory originates in the 1930 s through German
philosophy. The first people to get involved were mostly concerned with the problems of Nazism.
Critical theory, from the start, was not just concerned with trying to resist the Nazis, critical theory
believes that all power structures are dangerous and destructive. Critical theory believes that power
structures not only drive our economic and social life but

Executive Summary SITUATION: Once the largest computer manufacturer in the world, Dell has
slipped to third in line behind Lenovo and HP. With sales of their once famed laptops and PCs quickly
declining, their market share has taken a hit as a result. Lenovo and HP are not only to blame for Dell
s demise, Apple and Google have established new markets for smartphones and tablets that has shifted
demand to these new toys away from laptops/PCs. These new disruptive technologies are a cheaper
and thus more accessible substitute to the old guard (laptops and PCs). COMPLICATION: With Dell s

The 5 year PEG Ratio of Dell is 2.17 versus 1.12 for Lenovo and 1.645 for the industry. It can be
inferred from the Peg Ratio that Dell s EBIDTA growth rate for the next 5 years is going to less than
its peers and the industry. From the ROIC chart shown below, it can be seen that Dell s ROIC has
decreased from 2008 to 2010 and increased in 2011 by about 10%. However, the ROIC is projected to
decrease to 2014 and then remain stable @ 20% for the next 10 years. Based on the APV and
comparable multiples valuation, it can be seen that the future of Dell looks bleak as it stands today.
The Personal Computers (PC) industry is not a great industry to invest in unless you are ready to
innovate and adapt to the changing demands of consumers. Adding this to the fact that consumers are

the risk of bankruptcy increases with more debt. Dell has about $21.8 billion in liability obligations

I put stock in development, logical request, and a worldwide temperature alteration; I have confidence

Perhaps there s no getting away from our awesome political gap, a perpetual conflict of armed forces,
and any endeavors to change the guidelines of engagement are purposeless. Alternately perhaps the
trivialization of governmental issues has achieved a final turning point, so that the vast majority
consider it to be only one more preoccupation, a game, with legislators our paunch bellied combatants
and the individuals who try to focus just fans on the sidelines: We paint our confronts red or
blue and cheer our side and boo their side, and on the off chance that it takes a late hit or shameful
attack to beat the other group, so be it, for winning is the only thing that is important.
In any case, I don t think so. They are out there, I contemplate internally, those customary residents

We Real Cool Analysis
Poetry is comprised of many forms and within each form, poets have created; stanzas, rhythm, images,
symbolism, meter and meanings. Readers must read each poem and begin inductive reasoning to
understand what is written. In using this reasoning, only then can the poem be explained. There are
many different types of forms and a ballad is one of these poetic forms. It is usually made up of a
basic construction of quatrain stanzas. The lines contain rhyme, and generally tell a story that can be
compared to a song. In analyzing, Peter and John by Elinor Wylie, We Real Cool by Gwendolyn
Brooks, Riverbanks Blues by Sterling A. Brown and The Cherry tree Carol, author unknown,

Brown, Brown uses the typical quatrain stanza to create a song like poem one could imagine singing
while traveling down a river, Little Muddy, Big Muddy, Moreau and Osage, /Little Mary s, Big Mary

and git him weak (Strand and Boland 94). The words he chose roll off your tongue as they are spoken,
and are symbolic of the water as it moves. Each stanza grows more musical as the poem goes on, like
the start of a trip in a ferry on a river slow to start then smooth as it goes down.
Then there is the poem, The Cherry tree Carol, author unknown. This poem s story retells the
Christmas Journey to Bethlehem from Luke 2:4 5 through the death of Jesus (Leith). This ballad uses
the typical quatrain stanza to create this story. Each stanza takes us through the walk of Christ, from
birth to death using only Mary and Joseph s names in each stanza. Then Mary took her Babe/And sat
him on her knee, / Saying, My dear Son, tell me/ What this world will be. (Strand and Boland 78). The
quatrain stanzas help to summarize specific moments in the life of Jesus Christ without going into a

Kant’s Practical Imperative in the Film The Insider Essay
This principle is referred to as Kant s practical imperative and is an important principle for an ethical
system which says that each human being is an end in himself or herself. No human being should be
thought of or used merely as a means for someone else end. Dr. Jeffrey Wigand the main protagonist
of The Insider portrays himself to be a conflicted individual as he makes decisions throughout the
movie. Against an undetermined future, he ruminates about what he knows is right for example,
receiving threats, the phone ringing at odd hours. He makes most of his decisions by weighing the cost
and benefits, which may be referred to as Kant s principle the end justifies the means .Analysis of

The Kantian perspective would consider Lowell actions to be unethical, as he encourage another
person to break his promise for a greater of social good. Lowell knows the extent of the pleasure, but
not the pain. The benefits of his encouragement would uphold the honor of 60 minutes and CBS news,
protecting the public against harm. The disadvantages and the cost would result in Wigand and his
family losing all benefits from the agreement. The possible lawsuit faced against CBS and damages to
the tobacco industry and its employees. If he does not encourage Wigand, its just result in vice versa,
he would receive the benefits and the tobacco industry and employees are protected. It would costs
harm to public if they do not know the truth. In conclusion it can be seen that both Wigand and
Bergman used each other as means to one anothers end.
Not actually being in his position it would be difficult to decide to what my actual emotions would be,
based on the fact that I would be putting my family in danger to protect the public. I would have
probably done the same as it would be my moral obligation and the right thing to do. Kant s duty
based ethics says that some acts are wrong or right because of the things or situations that are related
and people have a duty to act in accordance, regardless of the good or bad consequences that may be
produced.

Ottoman Empire Society
Over the past few weeks in this class I have read about a multitude of societies thought different time
periods. Each society is unique in their own different ways, and with these differences have come
attractions, that make each society desirable, as well as things that make them inconvenient. If I were
to chose one society to live it, it would be the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman empire was established
and soon began to expand, it had the hopes to protect the people under the empire as well as expand
and become powerful. The Ottoman Empire conquered many other societies while maintaining the
philosophy conquer not kill. One aspect that attracts me to the Ottomans was when I read about how
they built their empire by not only absorbing the Muslims of Anatolia as well protecting the Orthodox
Church and the Greek Christians of Anatolia. This struck my attention, because it showed how
blended the culture that surrounds the Ottoman empire is. Another aspect that caught my attention was
how well conquered the Ottoman were, they conquered over 50 cities. The larger cities were ruled

I completely understand that it was acceptable and almost expected for people to own slaves and use
them. However, the only problem I find with how the slave use is in the Ottoman empire is that there
was a social order for the slaves. I don t know why this made me uncomfortable, and maybe I do
know. It could be that I live in the 21st century and slaves are a touchy subject, and it could be that it
disgusts be that a person would have the desire to own another human being. I am not able to quiet pin
point the issue I find in this, but the fact that these slaves have established a form of social order, gives
me the sense that they believe it is okay to be sold and used as seem fit. That theses slaves had

what Dominos does. Like all big businesses they all started out small and grew over the years.

Then I looked at the average individual income and it showed more information. In Gatton the average
individual income was $369 a week whereas in Kingscliff the average individual income was $399
weekly. The last criteria I went through to choose the most convenient location for the new franchise
was the total population of people in the workforce. In Gatton the total population of people in the
work force was only 166 people whereas in Kingscliff the number of people in the work force was
2460 people. After I went over the information the clear choice was to invest in a franchise in
Kingscliff as it is a growing town with a high number of people in the work force. The choice to start
up a new franchise in Kingscliff was more profitable than starting one up in Gatton as the information
shows that you get more customers where people have more money. The last piece of criteria I used
was the target age of the consumers. The average age for both place were the same between 25 54
years of age. With this large number of people at that age they would be more likely to Domino s take

There are a lot of strengths in investing a Domino s in Kingscliff. There would be ongoing traffic on

What Is The Purpose Of Electromyography
Electromyography and Nerve Conduction Studies
An electromyogram (EMG) gauges the electrical activity of muscles at rest and during contraction.
Nerve conduction studies (NCS) measure how well and how fast the nerves can send electrical
signals.
The nervous system is a complex, sophisticated system that regulates and coordinates body activities.
It is made up of two major divisions: the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord) and the
peripheral nervous system (all other neural elements). The brain sends out signals through electrical
signals called impulses that control the muscles of the body. Unfortunately, nerve and muscle
problems cause the muscles to react in abnormal ways.
The purpose of EMG/NCS is to localize where your symptoms are coming from. That can be pain,
any kind of numbness and tingling, and/or weakness and the test is also good at assessing the severity
of your symptoms. Typically, these studies are ordered when a patient is having some type of nerve
symptom: pain, numbness and tingling or a burning sensation, and/or any type of weakness where a
person can feel a change in muscle strength. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the two. These problems may include a herniated disc, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or

muscle twitching. Problems in a muscle, the nerves supplying a muscle, the spinal cord, or the area of
the brain that controls a muscle can all be the source of these symptoms. However, the EMG does not

Essay On Gender Expectations In Romeo And Juliet
In the play, Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare both Romeo and Juliet fit into gender
expectations in some ways. Gender roles are stereotypes that males and females fulfill and each of the
same gender is supposed to follow by a courtesy code. Most gender roles are not being followed
anymore as shown by the fact that women like sports as much as men; men can now stay at home and
have the females in the family work. Although Juliet conforms to gender expectations by making
irrational decisions, being childish and depending on others, but in some circumstances, she also
defies them by not listening to her father.
To start with, Juliet is easily swayed into rash decisions without thinking them through. Towards the
beginning of the play, Juliet finds out that Romeo is a Montague. Juliet, at the party, states that her

Near the beginning of the book, after Romeo and Juliet had met, Juliet expresses O Romeo, Romeo!
Wherefore art thou Romeo?/ Deny thy father and refuse thy name./ Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn
my love, (ii:ii 36 38). This quote shows that Juliet has fantasies about Romeo just like teenaged girls
would have about guys nowadays. When Romeo had recently been banished and Tybalt had just been
killed, Juliet is informed of her parents decision to make her marry Paris and she had an extremely
childish and pouty reaction. Now, by Saint Peter s Church, and Peter too, He shall not make me there a
joyful bride. (iii:v 121 122). This shows Juliet portrayed as a pouty girl trying to get her way by
throwing a temper tantrum which is very childish. This portrays Juliet as a childish teenager with
fantasies. Not only is Juliet portrayed as a typical teenage girl who acts very immature she also is a
figure of her time in that she is believed to by her father that she would do whatever he

Introduction
Nowadays, with the development of technology, the demand for high speed computing for the
computers increases significantly. Cloud computing is the most emphasized Information and

The high rotation speed will cause not only the dramatic increase of temperature but also the loud
noise. The low energy efficiency of HDDs is due to the heat loss which is caused by high temperature,
and the friction in mechanical content of discs and air. As for the SSD, the data will be stored in the
flash chip through the channel of transistors, so it does not require rotating [4]. It can save a massive
range of energy which HDDs will lose when HDDs are rotating. It is extremely energy efficient to use
SSDs in ICT equipment because the demand for writing or reading data is increasing dramatically.
The drawback is that the price of SSDs is much higher than that of HDDs, so the SSD is difficult to be
widely used until the price is reasonable. In addition, improving the energy efficiency of cooling
system is also effective [5]. To be specific, it is important to use right sizing cooling system, which can
automatically adjust the power of cooling system [5]. The temperature for ICT equipment is variable,
therefore the cooling system can increase the power while the temperature is high. On the contrary, the
cooling system can decrease the power while the temperature is low. To successfully implement right
sizing cooling system, the data center operators should take additional methods to measure the
temperature [5]. Thirdly, the energy efficiency of server processors is also helpful for reducing energy
consumption

RE: Engaging in trilateral cooperation: Mitigating the Chinese threat to U.S. hegemony in Latin
America
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Barbados is a net importing developing country (NIDC) with food imports significantly exceeding
food exports. As in most Caribbean islands, domestic agricultural output and food processing is
limited. Barbados relies on imports of practically the full range of food products to meet the needs of
its population. In fact, Barbados imports 70% of its food, over a third of which comes from the United
States. As a result, food security in terms of food self sufficiency and self reliance is severely lacking.
Moreover, the expanding tourism sector further fuels the demand for U.S. food products. U.S. exports
to Barbados of snacks, dairy products, processed fruits vegetables, fruit vegetable juices, and seafood
products have all registered increases since 2010. Fresh, chilled and frozen red meat products are also
an important product category which increased by 150% since 2010. These food imports, particularly
those of processed foods, are often associated with increasing weight and higher rates of chronic non
communicable diseases (obesity, diabetes, hypertension, stroke, heart disease, and cancer). Within the
Barbadian population, the increased consumption of animal fats, sugar products and salt from
processed foods has led

Informational Constraints
1. Chapter eight describes three broader goals of one s audience in addition to those discussed earlier
in the textbook. One of these is security. Another is professional growth. As the textbook notes, people
want to develop and grow on the job...they want to learn more skills and assume new duties...and they
want to work for an organization that is developing and growing (Markel, 2012). 2. Constraints within
technical writing are things such as the amount of information that can be gathered for a paper, the
required length and format, the due date, etc. (Markel, 2012), that impact the writing process. These
often help a writer compose a document however they also can be a hindrance as well. An example of

A commonsense argument is one that appeals to a person s understanding and experience of how the
world works. The textbook notes, if your audience s commonsense arguments match yours, your
argument is likely to be persuasive. Often, people can act in mysterious ways, and this is an effective
way to present an argument. Like the University of Maryland s University College notes on their
website, Clear thinking requires that you state your claim and support it with concrete, specific facts.
This approach appeals to our common sense... ( Writing Arguments, 2011). 7. One type of argument is
one that argues against the writer themselves, instead of against the writer s argument. This is known
as a ad hominem argument, or an argument against the speaker (Markel, 2012) according to the
textbook. Ad hominem arguments are useful in convincing someone to do something or of a side of
something because of a characteristic they possess. These arguments are logical fallacies that are
colloquially known as mistakes in reasoning ( What is..., n.d.) that are often not mistakes that can help
writers and speakers win persuasive

How To Make Avocados
For decades we were lead to believe that all fats, no matter where they came from, where the work of

More time went by, more research was conducted, and this time around, experts concluded that not
only were some fats OK, some fats, namely fats from healthy sources, were actually pretty essential
and incredibly healthy. Not only that, but they ve also discovered that healthy fats can actually help us
to lose weight! Monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats are the healthiest forms of fat, although
some saturated fat from natural sources such as coconut oil or red meat, is also highly beneficial.

Bruce Lee was Better than Chuck Norris
Why are there so many Chuck Norris jokes but hardly any Bruce Lee jokes? Because Bruce Lee is no
joke. Through his films, philosophy, and legacy, Bruce Lee became an icon to the world. Lee s films
had consumed the kung fu genre, and in doing so made him an icon. First of all, kung fu was a new
and growing genre, and Lee had monopolized them. According to Bruce Lee s Wikipedia, before
stardom Lee would take on minor roles in American TV dramas; in order to prove his worth, Lee went
to China to star in films produced by Golden Harvest that would be promoted to Hollywood
executives. Lee broke back to back box office records with his first two films The Big Boss and Fist of
Fury. Lee then went on to act and direct Way of the Dragon in which Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris
filmed a fight scene that is now considered one of the most memorable fight scenes in martial arts
films. While filming his fourth Golden Harvest film Game of Death, Warner Bros had offered Lee a
starring role in Enter the Dragon. Lee s untimely death had occurred just days before the release of
Enter the Dragon. Enter the Dragon would go on to be one of the highest grossing movies of the year
and instill Lee as a martial arts icon (3 Acting Career). Secondly, Lee brought kung fu movies to
America. Lee provided the ground work for other martial artists such as Jackie Chan and Jet Li to
continue; in short, if Bruce Lee hadn t accomplished what he did, Jackie Chan and Jet Li may have

became the genius that we know of, he was entirely the opposite. Einstein was unable to speak

However for the past 20 years Northern Irelands incidence has been the lowest in the UK (Cancer Research UK, 2014). 3. Pathophysiology Like all cancers, breast cancer develops because of defects in the DNA of a single cell. Cancers arise when there is an accumulation of genetic mutations within genes that control cell growth and division or the repair of damaged DNA. This causes damage allowing cells to grow and divide uncontrollably forming a tumour. These mutations are called somatic mutations and are not inherited (GHR, 2007) In addition to these genetic changes researchers have identified many other factors that increase the risk of developing of breast cancer, these were previously mentioned. 4. • 3. Comfort Women In Ww2 World War II was a gruesome era filled with violence and death. Each country was in a competition to find the deadliest weapons. War crimes were highly prevalent throughout this time, such as the Holocaust, inhumane experimentations, and the Japanese internment. One is often overlooked and barely spoken of: comfort women. Comfort women were girls and women from Japanese territories coerce into sex slavery for the Japanese military. The idea behind it was to prevent rape and to reduce sexually transmitted diseases in the army; however, this came at the expense of innocent women and girls. From that day on, the Japanese troops raped me every day. Each day at least five to six men would come... (7 8). Not only did they have to experience rape, but also torture, starved, and forced to do labor. For the comfort women, the hardest thing to do from their experience was to learn to cope with the trauma if they had survived. According to the United Nations, Only about 25 per cent of these women are said to have survived these daily abuses (39). They have to live their lives anguished and ashamed for something they could not control. They would hide the truth from their families. Many of these women developed mental disorders, like post traumatic stress disorder. Other experienced infertility or had a physical disability. The worst part of the aftermath is the Japanese government refusing to acknowledge this has ever occurred. De Brouwer, an author, has written, Until 1992, the Japanese government has denied any responsibility for the sexual slavery system during World War II... (8). It has been noted that it is rarely mentioned in history books. • 4. The Bio Ecological Theory Created By Bronfenbrenner Throughout the world there are many homeless individuals who are in need of help. Many of these people have trouble finding a job or a way to help themselves get stable. Not a lot of the homeless know how to handle money or illnesses they have developed. Many homeless also suffer from addictions and are in need of rehabilitation programs. The cause of these illnesses or drug problems can be related to the fact that when growing up they suffered from different life changes and expectations within the bio ecological theory or context. For my Service Learning Project I have implemented a project that I believe will help the homeless community with their second chance. As we grow up we associate ourselves with different people and environments no matter how old we are or get we still see different people and different environments. The bio ecological theory created by Bronfenbrenner, which explains just that with contexts of development. With the contexts of development there are the biological, immediate, socioeconomic, and cultural contexts. All of these contexts play a role in whether or not your life heads in a good or bad path. In every context there is a different association from people and the environment such as cultural context which can provide the belief in society that education is important.(Boyd, 2015) However, the belief that education is important can be downgraded in the socioeconomic context if a family does not have the ability to send their child to a ... I feel that this song was greatly important because of course it showed the ratchet part of Hip Hop and the punchline Flocka can you be my baby daddy , but it also gave a sense of togetherness between different ethnicities since this line is greatly appreciated by Caucasian girls around my age. Being an active listener, this song opened doors for the idea of family within the crowd. We all could relate in some manner within this song. However, Waka Flocka did perform 6 other songs, but this was the one that exemplified the most diversity and togetherness. This has been a turn in Hip Hop because not all artist create a sense of music that would relate across multiple ethnicities especially since its Trap music. Throughout the sets, Waka Flocka s presentation and participating shook the crowd. Withn the lyrics, money, gender and other themes were touched on, but within his lyrics identity, race and class wasn t present. However, his performance allowed those of other ethnicities to feel the way those who come from the slums feel. It gave them perspective or an sense of being able to relate. • 8. Fingerprints And Fingerprints Of Fingerprints As humans, we each contain our own unique fingerprints. Our fingerprints are so remarkably distinctive that even identical twins do not share the same fingerprints . Because the palm surfaces of our hands and feet retain the same constant ridges throughout our lifetimes, customary methods of fingerprinting were able to exploit this for purposes of identification. Under the context of forensic science, there are various types of fingerprints: impression, patent, and latent . An impression fingerprint is what would be found if someone pressed his or her thumb down in clay for instance. It creates a mold of sorts. Shortly after, Sir Galton would make the popular fingerprint categorizations of arches, loops, and whorls. Fueled with this new research, police agencies in London and Argentina began utilizing fingerprints as tools for identification within their departments . In 1906, Captain Joseph A. Faurot of the New York City police department was one of the first proponents to promote fingerprints for the purpose of criminal investigation in the United States. In 1924, the Federal Bureau of Investigation began to formulate the first fingerprint databases. This was essential to the viability of fingerprint identification as it served as a catalyst for the databases we use today. Today, the dominant framework used by fingerprint experts is the ACE V, short for analysis, comparison, evaluation, and verification . Although the ACE V frame was developed and fingerprint identification has been exercised for years, the validity of finger printing as a tool of identification remains questionable. To understand this lack of certainty, we can delve into two clear opposing opinions regarding fingerprint identification. Many in the academic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Admiral Nimitz, who he watched fight and die in one of the bloodiest battles of World War ll, was a man of honor and always tried to put his men in the best position possible. This battle is well worth knowing about. Especially because if it hadn t happened, at least 24,000 lives would not have been saved. Violence In Youth Sports On the day of August 8, 2000, in the town of Middlesex, Missouri, a father was charged with beating up another dad to death in an argument over their sons youth hockey game. The next month his son pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge for giving a rival player a paralyzing injury. A famous saying is that this apple did not fall too far from its tree. • 12. The Creature In The Lagoon The Creature in the Lagoon If only Jacqueline and I had listened to our parents and not ventured into the lagoon, Elaine thought. Elaine and Jacqueline were growing up in a condominium facing Lake Ontario in downtown Toronto on Queen s Quay Boulevard. Their parents, Dennis and Roberta, were both lawyers. Elaine was fourteen and Jacqueline was sixteen. The lagoon in question was located at Hanlon s Point, next to the Toronto Islands. It is built like a man, but it looks like a fish. It stands upright with what looks like legs, but it is scaly and has sharp teeth like a shark and claws instead of hands. The parents warnings seemed silly to Elaine and Jacqueline. Both girls thought it would be fun to explore the lagoon. One day, Elaine and Jacqueline were watching on television an old movie called The Lagoon Creature. The so called creature, the mysterious man fish, was half amphibious, half human, and resembled the creature their mother had told them about. Elaine was squirming with fear, although Jacqueline was laughing. Do you actually believe in these creatures? Elaine asked Jacqueline. No, I don t, Jacqueline answered. The story on TV is made up, just like our parents keep telling us there is a man built like a fish in the lagoon. Our friends from school walk around the lagoon all the time. I have never heard stories from them about an amphibious creature. They would laugh at this story. The next day, it just so happened that Dennis and Roberta were relaxing around the condominium s swimming pool. Elaine and Jacqueline decided to go down to Eaton s Centre, but as they left their condominium building to get the Harbourfront bus to Union Station, they decided to take the bus in the opposite direction to the lagoon, which was located near the Toronto Islands. • 16. Hypertension And Vitamin D Supplementation Hypertension and vitamin D supplementation Cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of worldwide mortality and morbidity and accounted 30% of deaths around the world in 2003 (Vacek et al., 2011). Hypertension is a worldwide epidemic that has a strong association with age and life patterns (Wuerzner, Burnier Waeber, 2012). Hypertension has been considered as a major risk factor of myocardial infarction, stroke, heart failure, peripheral vascular disease, chronic kidney disease, mental health issues and early death (Vacek et al., 2011; Wuerzner, Burnier Waeber, 2012). If the systolic pressure reaches to 140mm Hg or higher and diastolic pressure climbs up to 90 mm Hg, this condition can be termed as hypertension (Torpy, Lymn Glass, 2010, p. 2098). Evidence suggests that vitamin D insufficiency is associated with hypertension and cardiovascular disease (Vacek et al., 2011). To treat hypertension, international guidelines recommend use of pharmaceutical agents which not only reduce blood pressure but also decrease the risk of CAD, stroke, heart failure and pre mature death (Wuerzner, Burnier Waeber, 2012). Vitamin D is an important element of bone mineralization and homeostasis however, the role of vitamin D in treating hypertension is unknown (Geleijnse, 2011). Some people may consider a person as their leader who is capable of taking them away from hardships or caring for them, or some people may consider a man steeped in wisdom and learning to be a leader. Difference notwithstanding, there still seems to be some commonality in all the perspectives behind the definition, which is related to choosing a best of the best person as their leader. The simple bottom line is that, nobody wants to have a person as his leader who doesn t have knowledge of the needs and aspirations of his people or who is not blessed with a certain temperament foe bearing hardships for his people, nor a vision for where they should be or how they should grow and influence the world around them. As the founder of tech startup, it is only natural for me to pick a leader who is a true technological visionary. Nerve conduction studies (NCS) measure how well and how fast the nerves can send electrical signals. The nervous system is a complex, sophisticated system that regulates and coordinates body activities. It is made up of two major divisions: the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord) and the peripheral nervous system (all other neural elements). The brain sends out signals through electrical signals called impulses that control the muscles of the body. Unfortunately, nerve and muscle problems cause the muscles to react in abnormal ways. The purpose of EMG/NCS is to localize where your symptoms are coming from. That can be pain, any kind of numbness and tingling, and/or weakness and the test is also good at assessing the severity of your symptoms. The low energy efficiency of HDDs is due to the heat loss which is caused by high temperature, and the friction in mechanical content of discs and air. As for the SSD, the data will be stored in the flash chip through the channel of transistors, so it does not require rotating [4]. It can save a massive range of energy which HDDs will lose when HDDs are rotating. It is extremely energy efficient to use SSDs in ICT equipment because the demand for writing or reading data is increasing dramatically. The drawback is that the price of SSDs is much higher than that of HDDs, so the SSD is difficult to be widely used until the price is reasonable. In addition, improving the energy efficiency of cooling system is also effective [5]. To be specific, it is important to use right sizing cooling system, which can automatically adjust the power of cooling system [5]. The temperature for ICT equipment is variable, therefore the cooling system can increase the power while the temperature is high. Foreign Affairs And Foreign Trade MEMORANDUM To: Honorable Maxine McClean, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade From: Monica Perez Date: November 14, 2015 RE: Engaging in trilateral cooperation: Mitigating the Chinese threat to U.S. hegemony in Latin America STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Barbados is a net importing developing country (NIDC) with food imports significantly exceeding food exports. As in most Caribbean islands, domestic agricultural output and food processing is limited. Barbados relies on imports of practically the full range of food products to meet the needs of its population. In fact, Barbados imports 70% of its food, over a third of which comes from the United States. As a result, food security in terms of food self sufficiency and self reliance is severely lacking. Moreover, the expanding tourism sector further fuels the demand for U.S. food products. U.S. exports to Barbados of snacks, dairy products, processed fruits vegetables, fruit vegetable juices, and seafood products have all registered increases since 2010. Fresh, chilled and frozen red meat products are also an important product category which increased by 150% since 2010. These food imports, particularly those of processed foods, are often associated with increasing weight and higher rates of chronic non communicable diseases (obesity, diabetes, hypertension, stroke, heart disease, and cancer). Within the Barbadian population, the increased consumption of animal fats, sugar products and salt from processed foods has led ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Informational Constraints 1. Chapter eight describes three broader goals of one s audience in addition to those discussed earlier in the textbook. One of these is security. Another is professional growth. As the textbook notes, people want to develop and grow on the job...they want to learn more skills and assume new duties...and they want to work for an organization that is developing and growing (Markel, 2012). 2. Constraints within technical writing are things such as the amount of information that can be gathered for a paper, the required length and format, the due date, etc. (Markel, 2012), that impact the writing process. These often help a writer compose a document however they also can be a hindrance as well. An example of an informational constraint ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A commonsense argument is one that appeals to a person s understanding and experience of how the world works. The textbook notes, if your audience s commonsense arguments match yours, your argument is likely to be persuasive. Often, people can act in mysterious ways, and this is an effective way to present an argument. Like the University of Maryland s University College notes on their website, Clear thinking requires that you state your claim and support it with concrete, specific facts. This approach appeals to our common sense... ( Writing Arguments, 2011). 7. One type of argument is one that argues against the writer themselves, instead of against the writer s argument. This is known as a ad hominem argument, or an argument against the speaker (Markel, 2012) according to the textbook. Ad hominem arguments are useful in convincing someone to do something or of a side of something because of a characteristic they possess. These arguments are logical fallacies that are colloquially known as mistakes in reasoning ( What is..., n.d.) that are often not mistakes that can help writers and speakers win persuasive ... • 33. Bruce Lee was Better than Chuck Norris Why are there so many Chuck Norris jokes but hardly any Bruce Lee jokes? Because Bruce Lee is no joke. Through his films, philosophy, and legacy, Bruce Lee became an icon to the world. Lee s films had consumed the kung fu genre, and in doing so made him an icon. First of all, kung fu was a new and growing genre, and Lee had monopolized them. According to Bruce Lee s Wikipedia, before stardom Lee would take on minor roles in American TV dramas; in order to prove his worth, Lee went to China to star in films produced by Golden Harvest that would be promoted to Hollywood executives. Lee broke back to back box office records with his first two films The Big Boss and Fist of Fury. Lee then went on to act and direct Way of the Dragon in which Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris filmed a fight scene that is now considered one of the most memorable fight scenes in martial arts films. While filming his fourth Golden Harvest film Game of Death, Warner Bros had offered Lee a starring role in Enter the Dragon. Lee s untimely death had occurred just days before the release of Enter the Dragon. Lee provided the ground work for other martial artists such as Jackie Chan and Jet Li to continue; in short, if Bruce Lee hadn t accomplished what he did, Jackie Chan and Jet Li may have made it in China but not ... However the truth is, before Einstein became the genius that we know of, he was entirely the opposite. Einstein was unable to speak fluently until he was 12 years old. Einstein had a terrible reputation as a student. He skipped class, and his professors never took him seriously. Moreover, Einstein never performed spectacular in school. He did so poorly that he nearly decided to drop out. After graduating, Einstein had to work many odd jobs to sustain himself. Einstein s father died believing he was a complete failure. Eventually, he found legitimate employment as a patent clerk. Every day, he would sit down, review patents, and analyze mathematical equations . And Einstein loved it .Einstein s work transformed the way physicists thought about light, gravity, and space. More famously, he argued light can bend. Of course, physicists thought he was crazy. But long story short, with unstoppable perseverance and an iron will Einstein eventually proves the scientific community wrong. His work revolutionized how scientists perceive space, time, gravity and light. In fact, because of Einstein, gravity is no longer viewed as a mere pulling force ... it s actually a pushing ...
