Advantages And Disadvantages Of Esomeprazole
Nexium or esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) prescribed to people who are suffering from
gastroesophageal reflux disease or in short, GERD. This is a type of chronic digestive disease where
the stomach s content comes back up into the esophagus because the lower esophageal sphincter
(LES) improperly relaxes. The LES is responsible for preventing the food to return to the esophagus
but when a person is suffering from GERD, it causes the LES to be weak thus ...
Though Nexium played an important role in the treatment of this very common disease, more and
more people are still looking for other alternatives. This is because of the side effects that it may cause
especially if taking Nexium for long term. These side effects range from the common ones like
diarrhea, vomiting, headache ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chamomile is derived from the two Greek words kamai melon meaning ground apple because of its
apple like aroma and because this herb grows near the ground. Studies show that drinking German
chamomile tea does not only promote general relaxation, it also helps in lessening the severity of
digestive problems such as stomach pain, diarrhea, cramps, nausea and acid reflux if taken at least
three times a day. Other uses of German chamomile include soothing burns and skin rashes, alleviate
sleeping disorder (insomnia) and heal mouth sores and prevent gum disease. Though this soothing
plant s common form is tea, it is also available in capsule, tincture, essential oil, cream and ointment
forms. Whether this gentle herb is used internally or topically, the side effect is very uncommon that s
why it is very safe to be used by both adult and children. German chamomile is even included in the
list of substances Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) in the United States. But for those who are

The Social Darwinism Of The World War I
American Social Darwinism
For their point of view does not permit of a live and let live kind of carrying on. It is a point of view
that justifies itself by a whole hearted acceptance of the worst of Neo Darwinism, the Allmacht of
natural selection applied rigorously to human life and society and Kultur (p.22, Headquarters Nights
by Vernon Kellogg).
In the years following World War I, the Social Darwinist movement lost some of its momentum due to
the unpopularity of Germany s Neo Darwinism. Support for an individualistic and nationalistic based
Social Darwinism died and was replaced by the state enforced Social Darwinism of eugenics. Despite
the widespread Christian attack on Darwinian tenets, Christians did not fight the eugenics movement
in an effective way. Eventually, even legislatures controlled by Christians fell to the false promises of
eugenics. Despite poignant criticism of eugenics among scientists in the United States, more than
30,000 individuals were forcibly sterilized. In an ironic twist of fate, the Nazis Party s adoption of
American Eugenics programs led to the virtual extinction of Social Darwinism in the United States.
Social Darwinism stems from a misapplication of Darwin s theory of evolution. In 1859 Charles
Darwin published On The Origin of Species, which describes the mechanism for changes in the traits
of a population over time. This mechanism, called natural selection, favors the survival, and hence the
reproduction, of those

Research Report On Neonatal Mortality
Introduction: World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that neonatal mortality contributed to 38%
of under 5 mortality (1). Therefore reduction in neonatal mortality is an important target of WHO
(Millennium Development Goal 4 aimed at reduction under 5 mortality by two thirds by the year
2015). This can be achieved by provision of high quality neonatal care units equipped to offer
continuous observation, monitoring and intensive treatment to sick neonates. In order to give the best
available services, these neonatal units need continuous evaluation. Studying outcome of neonates
admitted to neonatal units is an important parameter of evaluation. Worldwide, many published
studies reported very different outcomes in terms of mortality and morbidity rates (2, 3, 4, 5). This can
be explained by different nature of population, different environmental conditions, different study
designs, variability in available resources and different patterns of neonatal problems from country to
another. Therefore mortality and morbidity figures can not be applied globally and each neonatal unit
needs to have its own figures. This helps strategic management planning and redirection of available
resources especially in developing countries where resources are very limited. Aim: To study Outcome
of neonates admitted to a neonatal unit in Upper Egypt Patients and methods: Place of study: Neonatal

Gender Role In Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness Essay
Gender Role In Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness
For the most part people who read Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad may feel that the novella is
strictly a story of exploration and racial discrimination. But to Johanna Smith who wrote Too
Beautiful Altogether : Ideologies of Gender and Empire in Heart of Darkness it is much more than
that. Johanna Smith along with Wallace Watson and Rita A. Bergenholtz agree that throughout Heart
of Darkness there are tones of gender prejudice, but the way that these three different authors perceive
and interpret those gender tones are to a certain extent different.
In Too Beautiful Altogether Smith points out that even though Heart of Darkness is an especially
masculine account, femininity and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To recognize ideological contradictions in Heart of Darkness, one needs to be on familiar terms with
discourse. A discourse is a domain of language use (Belsey 5), a specific mode of speaking, writing,
and thinking that includes certain shared assumptions (Smith 190). One example Smith gives of an
ideology in Heart of Darkness is the ideology of gender or empire, written in the words feminine or
savage. Johanna Smith gives many examples of Marlow s contradictions that his ideological discourse
of empire and gender work to mystify. In Heart of Darkness the women are often silenced. Smith
points out the example of the laundress: the company s chief accountant insists that she had to be
taught to launder his clothes properly and that she had a strong disliking for the job. But you never
truly hear her side of the story; Smith suggests Marlow s silencing of the laundress shows Marlow s
authority as the masculine narrator of his story, to conceal not only her story but also those of the other
silent women in Heart of Darkness (Smith 193). Marlow s Way of self asserting his dominating
silence of the women is a clear example of Marlow s view towards women and is a key illustration of
just how much Marlow believes he, as a male, is far more superior than a women. The second point

China’s Most-Favored-Nation Trade Status Essay
China s Most Favored Nation Trade Status
If the United States is going to stand by and let China break the agreement that we have set then what
is the point of having rules or laws in the first place? If we can accept the fact that China is breaking
our laws then we can also understand that this behavior can very well lead to a state of anarchy and
lawlessness. These are all things that are breed by a lack of law, and also facilitated by a lack of proper
enforcement of our current laws. This is a warning also for the future as we show China that the
United States will not stand for the flagrant breaking of its laws.

Hiking the Barr Trail
Adventurers are seeking for a new journey that is stimulating and invigorating. If they want to be
spontaneous and try a daring task the trailblazers should try hiking the Barr trail. The Barr trail is well
known to be one of the most difficult and strenuous trails to hike because of its dangerous conditions.
For the first time is an exhilarating experience, but being prepared is a necessity. The Trails Open
Space Coalition can t make it an easy climb for you, but maybe we can help you get prepared
(Hiking). The Barr Trail is located in Pikes Peak, Colorado. The trail is estimated to be about 12.6
miles long. The Barr trail was established by an extraordinary man by the name of Fred Barr. Barr
constructed this trail with his father and it cost him about 10,000 dollars. Along the trail, Barr built the
Barr camp, which is where the travelers can reside and rest for the night. To hike this trail, the madcap
needs to be well assembled, thoroughly know the hazards, and be physically conditioned or he will not
be able to endure the strenuous paths that lie along the trail.
The Barr Trail does not only have strenuous paths, but it is one of the most dangerous trails in
America. There are many times that severe thunderstorms occur: As the state with America s highest
average elevation (6,800 feet), Colorado and its mountains see a shocking amount of electrical
activity, (Bastone) and 20 of the 48 lightning incidents reported in Colorado since 2000 have involved

The Prelude by William Wordsworth
Man s journey through life is poignantly influenced by the perspective he embraces. A perspective acts
as a lens to view the world, swaying one s way of thinking and decision making. This perspective is
constantly tested by the prolonged process of maturation that continues with age. The Romantic period
ceded a break from intellectual conformity towards emancipation; it marked a radical shift in popular
thinking, resulting in the growth in the value of literature, art and nature. Young Wordsworth s life
during this inquisitive time establishes a unique context in which to describe the relation between one
s experiences and one s developing views. Wordsworth s life work, The Prelude, articulates his
perspective on life as he engages in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though the early 1800 s mark the peak of Romanticism, ironically, they also mark the time of the
Industrial Revolution. The love of humanity and nature present in Romantic thought is juxtaposed by
increasing urbanization and entrepreneurship in Great Britain. Unique to Wordsworth, he is able to
relate to not only the Romanticism spreading in France, but the rise of industrialism in Great Britain.
The contrast present between these two movements forces Wordsworth s opinions to culminate in a
more convicted worldview. Following Wordsworth s life of simplicity in London, his return to France
marks the beginning of the most influential development of his perspective. Wordsworth s connection
to the French Revolution largely shapes his views of man and tests his optimism of man s true nature.
During his visits to sites like the Bastille and the Palais Royale intricately connected to the French
revolution contrasting emotions of hope and fear emerge into Wordsworth s thinking. Wordsworth s
political views further develop as he grows in relationship with his favorite French officer, Beaupuy.
The two speak of humanity, politics, and history and their conversations allow the reader to more
easily comprehend Wordsworth s perspective of man. The conversations between Wordsworth and
Beaupuy over humanity communicate Wordsworth s respect and idealization of Beaupuy s character.
He describes Beaupuy as a,
Man he loved

An Evaluation Of Finite Duration
Satisfaction is an evaluation of finite duration, made by the customer on product performance of the
same, be it a good or service (Oliver, 1980). This review, according to the author, it tends to turn into a
positive attitude (or not) by the consumer. Tse and Wilton (1988), defined as consumer response to the
evaluation of the discrepancy between the previous and current performance expectations of a product
as perceived after consumption. Oliver (1980) and Selnes (1998) argue that this is an essential variable
to the continuity of a relationship and for future customer retention.
1.1.2. Perceived Quality
This construct is the judgment and perception of consumers about the excellence and global
superiority of a good or service, compared to other competitors. Unlike objective quality, which are
meant to standardize parameters and full functioning (that leads to consumer satisfaction), perceived
quality is an attitudinal element, linked to the perception of significance (Parasuraman et al., 1988) .
Fullerton (2005) indicates that relationships are built with perceived quality as the foundation. This
construct is even stronger when inserted in the service sector, where Kandampully (1998), Hougaard
and Bjerre (2003) point out the superiority of the companies where quality is superior.
1.1.3. Trust
Trust is seen as the most important in building relationships, being essential for achieving retention of
consumers (Crosby et al., 1990; Morgan and Hunt, 1994; Selnes, 1998;

(McCall) It is important to be aware of chemical reactions such as this one so a proper workout
schedule can be created to allow appropriate proportions of rest and high intensity exercise. Another
chemical that is often misunderstood is testosterone. Testosterone is responsible for muscle protein
resynthesis and the repair of muscle proteins damaged by exercise, and plays a significant role in
helping grow skeletal muscle . (McCall) For this reason, increased amounts of testosterone in the body
can lead to faster recovery times and larger muscles. Many competitive weightlifting communities
have taken advantage of this chemical release. For example, the Soviet weightlifting team was given
testosterone as part of their training . ( Weightlifting ) Another beneficial chemical effect of exercise is
the release of serotonin in the body. Some researchers suspect exercise alleviates chronic depression
by increasing serotonin (the neurotransmitter targeted by antidepressants) or brain derived
neurotrophic factor
(which supports the growth of neurons) . (Weir) It is important to become an educated member of the
active exercise community in every way focusing on the psychical aspect and on the chemical aspect,
both equally important.
Taking into account the physical and chemical affects of exercise, it is natural to look at the
psychological effects also. Exercise has been proven to have positive effects on mood. For example,
running can have an antidepressant

Pottery is an ancient form of art created by people as early as 29,000 BC. The Gravettian Venus
figurines (appendix A) are the earliest discovered ceramic works, dating from 29,000 BC to 25,000
BC (Carr, 2015). Since then ceramics have significantly evolved, and the pots created today can be
described as interesting and unique masterpieces. An example of one of these masterpieces is Sassy

The spout has been placed high on the teapot, and creates the illusion of an implied line to the top of
the handle. The spout also appears to form the resemblance to a hand at the end, as there are multiple

handle forms the other arm. It had also been cleverly created to look like a branch growing from the
body of the pot with organic curves and angles. The lid of the teapot is slightly raised by a thick neck
of the teapot, and has a branch growing from it to form a convenient handle. The base is muck thicker

The Psychological Effect Of Philanthropy And Psychology
Just as philanthropy has great societal effects, it also has many psychological effects. When people
decide to donate, they are bestowing on themselves an innumerable number of intangible costs, one of
these costs is the psychological implication is giving. (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). Giving not only
contributes to the way others see one but also to the way one sees himself, this contributes to one s self
image as an altruistic, empathetic, social responsible, agreeable, or influential person (Bekkers
Wiepking, 2010). The first response one feels, however, is an emotional response, this response makes
one feel good and have a positive mood (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). The nearly automatic response can
liberate one from feelings of guilt, which in turn satisfies one s desire to show gratitude or morality
(Bekkers Wiepking, 2010).
The first phenomenon that could be studied when linking together philanthropy and psychology, is the
do good, feel good phenomenon. Evidence suggests that helping others and helping behavior has
positive psychological effects on the helper or donor, this can be called, emphatic joy (Bekkers
Wiepking, 2010). Economic models of philanthropy suggest that this section of motives is called
warm glow or joy of giving (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). Neuropsychological studies show that,
donating to charity release neural activities in areas that are responsible for reward processing in the
brain. (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). In addition, the

Essay about Good vs. Evil in Psycho
Psycho
Psycho is a classic suspense film directed by Alfred Hitchcock which features a central female
protagonist, a seemingly ordinary young woman named Marion Crane, who crosses paths with a
dangerous mentally ill motel owner, Norman Bates. As their strange relationship develops, a dominant
theme of good versus evil is introduced to the audience through the use of characterisation, editing,
mise en scene and various other media techniques.
From the outset, Hitchcock introduces an initial theme of good versus evil during the opening credits.
The title scene could be seen as a reflection of the personality of Norman Bates as the credits
themselves are presented as fragmented titles which come together as one on the screen but then ...

In a similar shot, only half of his face is shown and this clearly symbolises the fact that only one half
of him can ever be fully good at any one time the other half will always remain evil. However,
sympathy is also evoked for Norman in this scene as we see that his mother takes an instant dislike to
Marion something which you would not normally see between two strangers. We see how close and
slightly strange the relationship between Norman and his mother and the unnatural dependence they
have on each other, showing that Norman is trapped in his current situation and making him seem like
a good person. A similar effect is used throughout the scene in Norman s parlour by with the use of
light and dark as the lighting picks out significant features such as only one side of Norman s face and
the underside of the owl s wings. The owl with its wings spread signifies his mother controlling his
mind and shows that she is ever present, although we never see her, even when he is behaving
normally she will always be inside his mind, therefore making the viewer feel sympathetic towards
him as he has no control over his actions. Conversely, framing him next to an owl may suggest that
Norman is a predator and the owl is his equal. Like the owl, many other birds are featured in the
parlour scene, linking back to the recurring theme. Framing Marion next to them when she first enters
the room makes her seem vulnerable and presents her as equal

Personal and Public Speech Skills Essay
Personal and Public Speech Skills
Throughout life we express ourselves through words. The way we present ourselves through speech
says a lot about our character. The way one speaks to others can jeopardize the amount of respect and
trust others have for them. From the way one pronounces a word to their posture can affect the way an
audience interprets what is being said. Personally, I am not confident with my speaking skills at this
point. I would like my audience to fully comprehend the concepts or facts that I would present to
them. In order to do so I must improve my speaking skills I believe that a problem most people,

The whole point of a speech is to get a message across to an audience or a group of people. If you
speed through a speech and just mumble, you are not only wasting your own time but your audiences
as well.
When giving a speech it is handy to have a list of key concepts with you that you want to get across to
your audience. Writing out your whole speech will not do. Writing out your full speech may cause you
to have your head buried in your notes for your entire presentation. As a high school student you can
get away with this, but in the real world no one will trust you unless you look them in the eye when
talking to them. I must admit that it is very hard for me to look at people when I am giving a speech,
but it is imperative that I do so. I not only want my audience to understand what I am trying to say to
them, but I want them to believe me as well. Also, when you don t face your audience they tend to
lose interest and start conversations or activities of their own. In order to gain the trust and respect of
your audience, it is absolutely necessary to look them in the eye when speaking to them.
I hate it when people speak in monotone, but it happens to the best of us. It is so boring to hear a
speech that is given in a monotonous voice without any variety in their tone. Speaking in monotone
puts your audience to sleep. This can happen to anyone who is reading their speech word for word. It

Flowers Symbolism In To Kill A Mockingbird
Flowers are an ongoing symbol in Harper Lee s novel To Kill a Mockingbird. They are used to relate
to or represent many of the characters all through the novel. The use of symbolism throughout this
work of fiction is essential because it gives a deeper understanding of the characters. Mayella Ewell
and the red geranium, Miss Maudie and her azaleas, Miss Dubose and her camellias, and Mayella
Ewell and the violet are four major uses of symbolism in the story. One use of symbolism in the novel
is when Mayella Ewell is compared to the red geranium. One corner of the yard, though, bewildered
Maycomb. Against the fence, in a line, were six chipped enamel slop jars holding brilliant geraniums,
cared for as tenderly as if they belonged to Miss Maudie Atkinson, had Miss Maudie deigned to
permit a geranium on her premises. People said they were Mayella Ewell s (pg. 194). Known as the
poor man s rose, the red geranium symbolizes gentility. The flowers growing in the filthy jars

life and had no form of beauty in her life. Attending to those flowers had finally gave Mayella a form
of beauty and hope. They showed Mayella that underneath the ugly and unappealing, there is still
beauty. Another form of symbolism is when Miss Maudie is compared to her azaleas. Miss Maudie

Langston Hughes Influence On Harlem Renaissance
The Harlem Renaissance, occurring from the end of World War I to the Great Depression, was a
colorful explosion of artistic, social, and cultural movements. Acting as the center of this explosion,
Harlem drew upon the talents of many great African American writers, poets, musicians, and artists.
One such great talent was Langston Hughes. Langston Hughes wrote many essays, short stories, and
poems with the common theme of celebrating and vocalizing African American culture. Hughes s
representation Harlem changed and varied throughout his life, and is reflected in his numerous poems.
For much of his early body of work, Hughes viewed Harlem as a glittering and vibrant neighborhood.
However, as the peak of the movement dropped off into the doldrums of the Great Depression,
Hughes work took on a more cynical view towards Harlem. Harlem came to represent the lost dreams
of its citizens. This change in Hughes s ideals can be traced back to both ... Show more content on

The area is most recognized for the Harlem Renaissance taking place during the 1920 s. Yet, many
events had to occur in order for the area to reach its cultural zenith. Originally, the Lenape Indians
occupied Harlem until Franco Dutch settlers arrived. In 1664, the English then triumphed over the
Dutch and they led New York into the Revolutionary War era. For much of the early 19th century,
Harlem remained a small, yet fashionable settlement. The Harlem Railroad as well as the Civil War
brought even more wealth and infrastructure to the area. However, the Panic of Harlem in 1937,
caused by the large amount of poor immigrants, initiated the city of New York to annex the
neighborhood. This annexation proved to be a good thing for Harlem, as an economic recovery
triggered new life and the opportunity to examine a fascinating new culture (Osborne, Boghani). As
Harlem was brought into the 20th century, the upcoming Harlem Renaissance began to

General Motors was founded in September of 1908 by William Durant during a time that there were
less than 8,000 in the United States. Durant was already known in Flint, Michigan for his horse drawn

Pontiac. (History Heritage Creation, 2014) General Motors set the tone in the automobile industry

How Did Catherine Mcauley Change The World
Ven. Catherine McAuley planted a seed that would change the world, even after her death. She was
born September 29, 1778. Although there is some irresolvable uncertainty about the year, this is the
year that most biographers generally accept. Her father had passed away when she was very young,
and her mother passed shortly after. After the passing of her mother, she moved in with her Protestant
relatives and became friends with the Callaghans. She served as a household manager and companion
for Mrs. Callaghan. After Mr. Callaghan passed away, he left Catherine the estate, leaving her a
considerable fortune. Little did he know that Catherine was going to change the lives of many with her
inheritance. Catherine recognized the many needs of

Summary Of Wired For War
Wired for War: The Robotics Revolution and Conflict in the 21st Century written by Peter Warren
Singer. In his book, Mr. Singer explores and supports his theory of how technology is quickly and
decisively changing the way the U.S. fights wars. This book was written in 2009 and the author
provides historical data up to 2009 on how the military relies on technology in the battlefield. Mr.
Singer s credentials include a Ph.D. in Government from Harvard and a BA from the Wilson School of
Public and International Affairs at Princeton2. He has worked with numerous U.S. government
agencies as advisor and continues to provide his services in that capacity. He has published books

Singer describes Iraq operations as they were being performed in 2008 with the threat of Improvised
Explosive Devices, IEDs. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal, EOD, teams were tasked with defeating
this threat, roving about the battlefield to find and defuse the IEDs before they could explode and kill.
3 Robots such as Packbot and Talon were used to disarm IEDs which save lives of Soldiers and
civilians. The proliferation of technology in the battlefield can be seen in today s combat environment
on the ground, sea and air and will continue to grow. He states that man s monopoly of warfare is
being broken because digital weapons such as Packbot, Talon, SWORDS, Predator, Global Hawk and
many others are a sign that we are entering the era of robots of war. 4 He supports his theory of the
proliferation of technology in weapons by looking at industry growth by providing quantifiable data of
rapid growth in industry to meet demands. As he states in 1999, there were nine companies with
federal contracts in homeland security. By 2003, there were 3,512. In 2006, there were 33,890. 5 Mr.
Singer then provides a history of robots, trends, and what we can expect in the future. The book also
provides a glimpse of what the author believes can be expected on future battlefields and changes that
he thinks U.S. policy makers and military leaders need to address. Some of the changes that can be
affected concern law of war, robots role in war, level of robot authority to fight wars and robot

The Cinderella Story In La Cenerentola By Gioachini Rossini
Throughout time, the opera La Cenerentola by Gioachini Rossini has proven to be one the composer s
most famous works, as well as the most famous operatic adaptation of the Cinderella story. However,
the opera is in fact quite different from the well know fairy tale. There are certain advantages and
disadvantages to Rossini and his librettist Ferreti s setting of the piece; significant pieces of the story
are removed to make way for thoughtful substitutions. However, in the end he manages to deliver a
fresh interpretation of the tale without sacrificing the timeless charm of the original fairy tale.
The Cinderella Story has been a classic trope in literature throughout the ages, and there are numerous
variations of the story across Africa, Asia, Persia, and even Native American Algonquian traditions.
Some cite the earliest appearance of Cinderella as far back the first century CE with Greek Scholar
Strabo s mention of the myth of Rhodopis. This story recounts a woman whose sandal was snatched
by an eagle as she bathed in the river and carried to the king of Memphis, who immediately sought out
the woman to whom the shoe belonged. However others cite the first documented Cinderella story as
the tale of Ye Xian, written by Chinese scholar Duan Chengshi in 850 CE. In this version, Ye Xuan is
gravely abused by her stepmothers and sisters, and her only friend is a fish, which the stepmother
cruelly kills and eats. However, a magical spirit appears from the fish bones, granting Ye

Albania In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
While reading The Lotter by Shirley Jackson, I starting thinking a lot about my country, Albania.
Jackson starts by describing a beautiful place with kids playing around joyfully (242). This reminded
me of my early childhood. Later on the reading their tradition of having the lottery every year brought
to my mind all the different traditions that we hold every year in my country. Unfortunately my happy
thoughts didn t last for long when I finished my reading. The terrible truth about why the lottery
actually took place reminded me of a horrible tradition that my country had until couple decades ago.
It was called an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth , and it was passed generation after generation.
What that meant was that if you accidently or intentionally killed someone, his family would either
kill you or another family member of yours. This makes me wonder: Should we really follow all the
traditions blindly? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

ABSTRACT
Dawn is a driver for Fast as We Can Delivery. She is a long time employee and has the use of her
delivery vehicle to get her to and from work. One evening after she completed her shift, Dawn is
asked by her supervisor, Ian Smart, to drop off a special package at the DNA Laboratories, a research
institute funded by the state. Rather than driving straight to DNA after work, Dawn stops at a
supermarket to pick up a few things she needs at home. After leaving the supermarket and on the way

She cannot absolve herself of liability, however, since she will still be personally liable for her tortious
act.
FAST AS WE CAN DELIVERY LIABILITY
Dawn was, in general, acting on behalf of her employer when the accident occurred. A possible
defense to this would be for her employer to claim Frolic and Detour. Dawn had stopped to do some
shopping before heading to DNA Laboratories. Therefore, Fast as We Can Deliver could argue that
she was furthering her own interests rather than the principals and therefore they should not be liable.
However, courts commonly overlook minor deviations, and thus it is unlikely that this defense would
stand. Also, since she was technically off duty at the time, the courts would likely find that it falls
under the Dual Purpose mission section of negligence (Cheeseman, 2010, p 477). Meaning that in
most jurisdictions the liability would fall on both the principal and the agent if she injuries someone
while on such a mission.
DNA LABORATORIES LIABILITY
The plaintiff in this case is obviously making the claim that DNA Laboratories and Dawn held am
agency relationship. This type of agency would have to be implied, as Dawn and DNA Laboratories
have not communicated to create an express agency contract (Cheeseman, 2010, p. 465). The Superior
Court of Massachusetts stated in Bosse vs. Brinker Restaurant Corporation that three elements are

The Hidden Life Behind The Zika Virus
The Hidden Life behind the Zika Virus As a pharmacy major, this semester I took the class medical

Edward Jenner was a scientist in London at the time who made the connection that his milkmaids,
who had been infected with cowpox, were immune to smallpox. This connection is how Jenner
created the first smallpox vaccine using cowpox because it provided immunity for smallpox. This was
a revolutionary event in history, vaccines have been developed for diseases like chicken pox, shingles,
polio, influenza, and many others. Although there is no vaccine for the Zika virus, because of Jenner s
findings, it is quite possible that there could be a vaccine for Zika Virus in the future.
The Industrial Revolution time period was not only at time for new technologies and factories, but it
was a key time for breakthroughs in medicine. Before the Industrial Revolution, many scientists
thought that some diseases randomly grew out of non living objects, miasmas or fogs, in the air. In the
mid 1800s, a chemist by the name of Louis Pasteur proved this wrong and he showed that diseases
were actually caused by microscopic organisms in the environment. This discovery was revolutionary;
now doctors were able to begin finding prevention methods or cures for diseases. There is so much
that happens in the world today that we can trace back to Pasteur s discovery. Without his findings,
there would be no way to protect from treatable diseases. Because of Pasteur s discovery, more
research will be able to be done about Zika virus because it is failure unfamiliar to most people

Charter Schools Vs. Public Schools Essay
Charter schools are all the buzz in the media lately; they are what seems to be the sensible response to
the path traditional public schools are heading, down the drain. However, charter schools still face
many obstacles and issues, stemming from the fact that they are far less regulated than their public
school counterparts. This enacts issues including lack of quality control, increased segregation, and
severe misuse of funds. Likewise, charter schools are only going to become increasingly more
competitive and higher quality if their closest competitors follow that path, meaning the most
successful charters are the ones compared directly to private schools. Since charters are also
attempting to make a profit, they will go to all extents, including discrimination to bring up the scores,
and therefore gain more leverage in negotiating for more funds. Simply enough, the most logical and
simple way to prevent charter schools from degrading in quality or becoming out of control is to put
more regulation on them, while still allowing them to maintain many characteristics of an independent
charter. The concept of a charter schools was put into place just 25 years ago, in Minnesota. The idea
as letting schools manage their own finances and exist as a separate legal entity were not new, those
ideas had been considered for nearly two decades before the first charter was enacted. (Kahlenburg)

After reading the text, I learned that in rural areas of Mexico, food sharing is considered an important
food custom. The relationship that the Mexican farmers have with their food and farms extends to
their social network in this practice. The native Indian origin of Mexicans, in that more than 80% have
some form of Indian heritage mixed in with Spanish, is reflected in the foods and worldview. I also
understand, very well, that if an offering of food is not accepted, the person that declines the food has

One of the themes of the Jade Peony was the difficulty that the early Chinese immigrants had to face
when they came to Canada in the late 1800s. Wong Suk is one of the early immigrants, believing there

The Child Rearing, Education And Other Fields
Burrhus Frederic Skinner was born in 1904 Pennsylvania. After graduating Hamilton College, he
wanted to become an author, but without any avail. Pavlov and Watson s work encouraged him to
attend Harvard graduate school where he studied behavior. He made changes in the rate of behavior a
standard measure of learning: made the individual, rather that the group, the object of experimental
study; and suggested ways that a natural science of behavior could be applied to medicine, work, child
rearing, education and other fields (Learning and Behavior pg#136 137). Skinner worked with rats by
placing them in boxes and providing them with different reinforcements. He would teach them a
different behavior by providing obstacles in order to shape those behaviors. Positive reinforcement
strengthens a behavior by providing a consequence an individual finds rewarding
(simplypsychology.org). The reinforcement was the food The rats quickly learned to go straight to the
lever after a few times of being put in the box. The consequence of receiving food if they pressed the
lever ensured that they would repeat the action again and again (simplypsychology.org). When I
became a mother, I always knew that by rewarding my children with praises or food it would make
them feel special. But I had no idea on how it would shape their behavior. My first child, Anna (who is
now 16 years old) was always good. I could go to the store with her, give her a toy to play with at the

Covenants And The Roles Of Profit, Priest, And King
Covenants and the Roles of Profit, Priest, and King in Organizational Management
There are 6 major covenants in the Bible, Adam and Eve, pre flood Noah, post flood Noah,
Abrahamic, Moses, and Jesus, with multiple themes of salvation, Messiah, and grace. Each are
promises between God and His people and have four common elements; a benefactor; God, a
beneficiary; man, terms and conditions, and a token or symbol.
Significance and Meaning of a Covenant
To provide a better appreciation of the Bible, a definition of covenant is necessary. A covenant is a
serious life or death affair. It is a relationship; a sacred agreement between God and all humanity. It is
how God chooses to communicate to us, to redeem us, and to guarantee us eternal life in Jesus. When
God created man, he appeared in His image. Man was physically complete; yet spiritually incomplete.
God s plan for salvation was predetermined and calls all people to receive the Holy Spirit to grow and

The Business Of Mining And Selling Sand And Related...
III. General Background
Since 2011, the Company has been in the business of mining and selling sand and related products.
Primarily, the Company sells a product referred to as dry silica which is largely used in oil gas
operations, particularly in dry casing the wells created through horizontal fracturing ( Fracking )
operations. Secondarily, the Company also sells washed silica sand and fill dirt. Washed silica sand is
generally used as top dressing for sports facilities; particle board; foundry and masonry sand; and
mortar productions. Fill dirt is generally purchased by landscapers and construction contractors.
a. The Refining Process
The Company has its headquarters, and one mine with one pit located in Texas. The Company s Texas
mine is located in the Paluxy sand formation. The Company s Paluxy sand is non consolidated and is
dug out using excavators and shovels. The Company does not perform any blasting to extract its sand.
All sand is extracted through digging.
Once extracted, the sand is hauled via truck to a primary feeder. Once placed in the primary feeder, it
is slurrified and screened to remove overburden and other oversized non sand particles. The sand
slurry is then pumped to the onsite washing plant. The washing plant serves 2 functions, washing and
sizing. Once entering the washing plant, sand is rinsed by fresh water. The sand is then placed into
sizing apparatus.
The Company uses both cyclones and hydrosizers for sand sizing. The cyclones

Chairman and Chief Executive of leading European pharmaceutical enterprises, Nourtis:
Profit in pharmaceutical industries is not possible without patents and without patents innovation,
research and development of new life saving drugs and medicines suffers (Winestock and Cooper,
2001, p. 1). Without incentive Research and Development (R amp;D) cannot be done, and this
incentive is provided by strong IPRs. According to Grabowski, H. (2002) the total cost of doing
researching and developing new drug along with the costs of capital and failed R amp;D is more than
US$400 million. In the absence of strong implementation of IPRs and R amp;D costs, investors will
not be ready to invest in R amp;D.
According to Dam (1994, P. 247), the copping of intangible assets are very easy and this will result in
free copying of innovation by imitators at a low cost. Patent which is one of the way of IPRs, helps to
motivate innovation and R amp;D by giving assurance to innovator total and exclusive rights, these
rights include manufacturing right, selling or maintaining, distributing or licensing to distribute the
invention. If patent laws in not available in pharmaceutical market no investors will ready to do
investment in R amp;D and the risk is so high that competitor will copy the good and services with
less risky investment (Ryan and Shanebrook, 2004, pp. 15, 16).

The American Clock Essay
Arthur Miller is a social dramatist who reflects his outlook on the US government, in many of his
plays. The Great Depression had a lasting influence on him, which he portrays in The American Clock
. Because he was so deeply impacted by the Depression and the government s role in it, Miller mocks
the idealism of the American dream in Death of a Salesman and A View from the Bridge . Due to his
unjust condemnation as a Communist during the McCarthy Era he accuses the faulty court system as
culpable. Miller creates John Proctor in, The Crucible as a victim during the Salem Witch Trials, to

Wren describes Miller s intention through this theme, The American Clock seems to be not only about
the Depression, but more generally about how humans recall and retrieve experience (Wren). Miller
blames these bad experiences, during the Great Depression, on the U.S government. Edwards, an
expert on the depression, explains that generally, Misguided federal policies caused the downturn
began in 1929 (Edwards). He more thoroughly addresses the government s role when he states, Policy
blunders by the Federal Reserve, Congress and Presidents Herbert Hoover and Roosevelt battered the
economy on many fronts (Edwards). Miller blames his childhood issues on the U.S government, due
to the role it played during the Great Depression Miller blames the U.S government for his family s
poverty during the Great Depression, and therefore questions economic security as a theme in his
plays. Wren highlights the effect the Depression had on Miller, Miller was shaped by the poverty that
surrounded him during that time (Wren). Not only do his plays demonstrate this influence, but Miller
states that, While extending its hospitality to the wealthy and titled of Europe, the State Department
has consistently obstructed Jews and Anti Fascists (Crandell) , which shows his abhorrence for the
State Department and the government, not only because of it s role in the Depression, but also due to
other adversities he s had to face. Due to the

1. What clinical findings correlate with M.K. s chronic bronchitis? What type of treatment and
recommendations would be appropriate for M.K. s chronic bronchitis? Prior to discussing MK s
clinical findings and its correlations with chronic bronchitis, we must first have an understanding of
what this disease involves. Chronic bronchitis is defined as a chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder
(COPD) and is identified by a hypersecretion of bronchial mucus and chronic or recurrent productive
cough of more than three months and occurring each year for two or more successive years in a
patient (Copstead Banasik, 2013). Furthermore, if you break down the words Chronic Bronchitis the

Putting the words back together, chronic bronchitis is the chronic inflammation and swelling of the
bronchial mucosa, which can lead to scarring and a variety of other clinical manifestations. This is
where we can correlate the clinical findings from MK s case study to the chronic bronchitis. Here we
find clinical manifestations such as chronic coughing with more severe fits in the morning with
sputum, excessive peripheral edema, light headedness, distended neck veins, and increased night
urination. The most predominant symptom in chronic bronchitis is the chronic cough, which can last
over the course of three months successively for at least two years. This is a result of inflammation of
the bronchial mucosa which leads to hypertrophy and causes scarring to occur. The hypertrophy then
cause the over production of mucus which results in the chronic coughing as the body tries to get rid
of the excess mucus. MK states that she has been smoking for the past 22 years which points to her
experiencing smokers cough with more severe fits in the morning. This is explained due to M.K.

the earthquake was that it destroyed much of it s government offices and the capital city of Port au

destroyed. Port au Prince had a population of 2 million people at the time, that s almost a fourth of the
countries population, but the capitals infrastructure is layed out to support just over 115,000. So on top
of the overpopulation in the area, you have a massive catastrophe and a whole lot of people with
nowhere to go, especially with all of the rubble. There wasn t much of anything that residents could
do, other than to help each other. Fredson Demostherma, a resident of Leogane said Haiti s future is in
the hands of other nations, and God, (Petrou). Fredson was with his family in his home when the
tragedy struck, he jumped out of his second floor window, only to see the the rest of his family get
trapped among the rubble. That was the scene for many residents, seeing their loved ones die instantly
or not being able to help, or have someone to call. There were no resources to go

Literary Analysis Of Tenzing Norgay And Sir Edmund Everest
The rugged ascent of Mount Everest is every insane climbers dream, but nightmare at the same time.
The steep and deadly slopes of the towering Mountain are illustrated and portrayed in the minds of the
readers throughout the abstract and meaningful poem; The Summit. This poem is all about the intrepid
and enduring journey up Mount Everest, taken on by the courageous pioneers; Tenzing Norgay and Sir
Edmund Hillary in the year of 1953. The poem itself uses various different types of language features
to hook and intrigue the readers.
On they plodded, Martian weird, With pouted mask and icicle beard in these lines the poem talks
about the equipment Hillary and Tenzing used on their expedition. The author uses a metaphor to
describe how they looked like during the climb really adds effect and again can make you imagine that
all their gear and masks made them look weird like martians, the metaphor used in these lines really
helps to paint a picture of the situation in the reader s mind. It shows you what they went through and
what they had to do to reach their goal. The lines also show you that you have to be a little weird and
step out of your comfort zone to fulfill your goals and dreams. Confidence is essential for success.
Every single one of the lines in The Summit has some sort of deeper meaning behind them. For
instance, here are a couple of lines extracted from the poem; Their steps were weary, keen was the
wind, Fast vanishing their oxygen fuel, These lines present to the reader how dangerous and punishing
the journey was. The climbers were tired and worn to the soul, you can tell this from line Their steps
were weary. One of the lines; keen was the wind, This line includes personification, meaning; the
wind was keen to do what it does best; blowing and gusting. This highlights the harsh environment the
climbers had to endured through throughout the entirety of their journey. Fast vanishing their oxygen
fuel , this line proves how risky the adventure genuinely was, it also shows that you didn t have a say
in how much long you had time you had to live on Everest, in reality, your oxygen tanks and the
gruelling weather did. In fact the climbers would have to sleep with one eye open just to

The Murder Of Rapper Christopher Wallace
No one was ever charged in the murder of rapper Christopher Wallace, aka. Notorious B.I.G. or Biggie
Smalls, but I will show how a suspect would be tried if there were such a suspect. But first I would
like to point out that this trial would be a media circus. To begin with the suspect could more than
likely end up being one or more LAPD officers, a fact that the FBI has suggested in their report on
Wallace that was released in 2011 (Federal Bureauof Investigation , n.d.). Then there is the gang
aspect, Biggie had ties to the Crips, which he had reportedly hired to murder rival rapper Tupac
Shakur, who was himself a Blood, just six months prior to his own murder. Subsequently, since no one
has ever been formally charged in this case,I will try to use vague wording when referring to the
suspect, and I will refer to him by of name Mr. Murder Suspect . I use the masculine only because
there were no female suspects.
After Mr. Murder Suspect was charged in the murder of Cristopher Wallace, arrested, formally
charged at the first appearance, with the charges being upheld during the preliminary hearing, and then
formally arraigned, where he plead not guilty to all charges. Now the trial is set to begin.
(Schmalleger, 2014)
The trial process begins with the selection of the jury. After the jury is selected the next stage is the
opening statements. Since the prosecution has the burden of proof as to the defendant s guilt, the
prosecutor s opening statement is given first. An

I obtained this product from Peach and Lily, an online shop that sells Asian skin care products similar
to Jolse that is located in United States. This is my first experience shopping with them and quite
frankly, I would rather not buy my products there again. I find that the product s high markups are not
worth the fast shipping, so I d rather be patient in receiving my package to have it cost less.
This is another snail product that I have been using recently along with my CosRX Snail Essence and
CosRX All in One Cream. The reason I wanted to try this product out is because it is one of the most
popular snail products ever. I ve seen Youtubers and Bloggers rave about this products that it made me
curious about its effects for me.

Housing Market Failure
The housing market crash of 2007 to 2009 is said to be one of the main reasons for the housing market
crash. The crisis occurred when homeowners were not able to make payments on their mortgage.
Homeowners were unable to keep up with payments when low introductory rates converted to regular
rates. Real estate property began to lose its value, leaving many homeowners with a negative equity.
Soon after the housing bubble the government took over (two GSEs) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, in
order to prevent the financial crisis from getting any worse In the most recent FSOC annual report, the
council reported that significant efforts have been made to improve the housing market and reduce
taxpayer risks. However, market growth has been slow, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) alongside congress to implement a robust
reform plan. In its most recent annual report the council stated that risk sharing transactions improved.
The FHFA will continue to reduce the GSEs risk by engaging in risk sharing transactions. Within this
time period The Federal Reserve voted on the final terms of the Dobb Frank Retention Rule. The rule
will require security backed assets sponsors to maintain a financial interest in their securities. The
implementation of the rule was to mitigate risks that caused the financial crisis. The Common
Securitization Platform launched a partnership with Common Securitization Solutions LLC, with a
goal of achieving a more sustainable market. As recommended by the council congress should
continue to promote best practices and standards in the housing market, mainly addressing the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Esomeprazole Nexium or esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) prescribed to people who are suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease or in short, GERD. This is a type of chronic digestive disease where the stomach s content comes back up into the esophagus because the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) improperly relaxes. The LES is responsible for preventing the food to return to the esophagus but when a person is suffering from GERD, it causes the LES to be weak thus ... • 3. The Social Darwinism Of The World War I American Social Darwinism For their point of view does not permit of a live and let live kind of carrying on. It is a point of view that justifies itself by a whole hearted acceptance of the worst of Neo Darwinism, the Allmacht of natural selection applied rigorously to human life and society and Kultur (p.22, Headquarters Nights by Vernon Kellogg). In the years following World War I, the Social Darwinist movement lost some of its momentum due to the unpopularity of Germany s Neo Darwinism. Support for an individualistic and nationalistic based Social Darwinism died and was replaced by the state enforced Social Darwinism of eugenics. Despite the widespread Christian attack on Darwinian tenets, Christians did not fight the eugenics movement in an effective way. Eventually, even legislatures controlled by Christians fell to the false promises of eugenics. Despite poignant criticism of eugenics among scientists in the United States, more than 30,000 individuals were forcibly sterilized. In an ironic twist of fate, the Nazis Party s adoption of American Eugenics programs led to the virtual extinction of Social Darwinism in the United States. Social Darwinism stems from a misapplication of Darwin s theory of evolution. In 1859 Charles Darwin published On The Origin of Species, which describes the mechanism for changes in the traits of a population over time. This mechanism, called natural selection, favors the survival, and hence the reproduction, of those ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Research Report On Neonatal Mortality Introduction: World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that neonatal mortality contributed to 38% of under 5 mortality (1). Therefore reduction in neonatal mortality is an important target of WHO (Millennium Development Goal 4 aimed at reduction under 5 mortality by two thirds by the year 2015). This can be achieved by provision of high quality neonatal care units equipped to offer continuous observation, monitoring and intensive treatment to sick neonates. In order to give the best available services, these neonatal units need continuous evaluation. Studying outcome of neonates admitted to neonatal units is an important parameter of evaluation. Worldwide, many published studies reported very different outcomes in terms of mortality and morbidity rates (2, 3, 4, 5). This can be explained by different nature of population, different environmental conditions, different study designs, variability in available resources and different patterns of neonatal problems from country to another. Therefore mortality and morbidity figures can not be applied globally and each neonatal unit needs to have its own figures. This helps strategic management planning and redirection of available resources especially in developing countries where resources are very limited. Gender Role In Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness Essay Gender Role In Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness For the most part people who read Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad may feel that the novella is strictly a story of exploration and racial discrimination. But to Johanna Smith who wrote Too Beautiful Altogether : Ideologies of Gender and Empire in Heart of Darkness it is much more than that. Johanna Smith along with Wallace Watson and Rita A. Bergenholtz agree that throughout Heart of Darkness there are tones of gender prejudice, but the way that these three different authors perceive and interpret those gender tones are to a certain extent different. In Too Beautiful Altogether Smith points out that even though Heart of Darkness is an especially masculine account, femininity and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To recognize ideological contradictions in Heart of Darkness, one needs to be on familiar terms with discourse. A discourse is a domain of language use (Belsey 5), a specific mode of speaking, writing, and thinking that includes certain shared assumptions (Smith 190). One example Smith gives of an ideology in Heart of Darkness is the ideology of gender or empire, written in the words feminine or savage. Johanna Smith gives many examples of Marlow s contradictions that his ideological discourse of empire and gender work to mystify. In Heart of Darkness the women are often silenced. Smith points out the example of the laundress: the company s chief accountant insists that she had to be taught to launder his clothes properly and that she had a strong disliking for the job. But you never truly hear her side of the story; Smith suggests Marlow s silencing of the laundress shows Marlow s authority as the masculine narrator of his story, to conceal not only her story but also those of the other silent women in Heart of Darkness (Smith 193). Marlow s Way of self asserting his dominating silence of the women is a clear example of Marlow s view towards women and is a key illustration of just how much Marlow believes he, as a male, is far more superior than a women. China’s Most-Favored-Nation Trade Status Essay China s Most Favored Nation Trade Status If the United States is going to stand by and let China break the agreement that we have set then what is the point of having rules or laws in the first place? • 10. The Prelude by William Wordsworth Man s journey through life is poignantly influenced by the perspective he embraces. A perspective acts as a lens to view the world, swaying one s way of thinking and decision making. This perspective is constantly tested by the prolonged process of maturation that continues with age. The Romantic period ceded a break from intellectual conformity towards emancipation; it marked a radical shift in popular thinking, resulting in the growth in the value of literature, art and nature. Young Wordsworth s life during this inquisitive time establishes a unique context in which to describe the relation between one s experiences and one s developing views. Though the early 1800 s mark the peak of Romanticism, ironically, they also mark the time of the Industrial Revolution. The love of humanity and nature present in Romantic thought is juxtaposed by increasing urbanization and entrepreneurship in Great Britain. Unique to Wordsworth, he is able to relate to not only the Romanticism spreading in France, but the rise of industrialism in Great Britain. The contrast present between these two movements forces Wordsworth s opinions to culminate in a more convicted worldview. Following Wordsworth s life of simplicity in London, his return to France marks the beginning of the most influential development of his perspective. Wordsworth s connection to the French Revolution largely shapes his views of man and tests his optimism of man s true nature. During his visits to sites like the Bastille and the Palais Royale intricately connected to the French revolution contrasting emotions of hope and fear emerge into Wordsworth s thinking. Wordsworth s political views further develop as he grows in relationship with his favorite French officer, Beaupuy. The two speak of humanity, politics, and history and their conversations allow the reader to more easily comprehend Wordsworth s perspective of man. The conversations between Wordsworth and Beaupuy over humanity communicate Wordsworth s respect and idealization of Beaupuy s character. • 11. An Evaluation Of Finite Duration Satisfaction is an evaluation of finite duration, made by the customer on product performance of the same, be it a good or service (Oliver, 1980). This review, according to the author, it tends to turn into a positive attitude (or not) by the consumer. Tse and Wilton (1988), defined as consumer response to the evaluation of the discrepancy between the previous and current performance expectations of a product as perceived after consumption. Oliver (1980) and Selnes (1998) argue that this is an essential variable to the continuity of a relationship and for future customer retention. 1.1.2. Perceived Quality This construct is the judgment and perception of consumers about the excellence and global superiority of a good or service, compared to other competitors. Unlike objective quality, which are meant to standardize parameters and full functioning (that leads to consumer satisfaction), perceived quality is an attitudinal element, linked to the perception of significance (Parasuraman et al., 1988) . Fullerton (2005) indicates that relationships are built with perceived quality as the foundation. This construct is even stronger when inserted in the service sector, where Kandampully (1998), Hougaard and Bjerre (2003) point out the superiority of the companies where quality is superior. 1.1.3. • 14. The Psychological Effect Of Philanthropy And Psychology Just as philanthropy has great societal effects, it also has many psychological effects. When people decide to donate, they are bestowing on themselves an innumerable number of intangible costs, one of these costs is the psychological implication is giving. (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). Giving not only contributes to the way others see one but also to the way one sees himself, this contributes to one s self image as an altruistic, empathetic, social responsible, agreeable, or influential person (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). The first response one feels, however, is an emotional response, this response makes one feel good and have a positive mood (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). The nearly automatic response can liberate one from feelings of guilt, which in turn satisfies one s desire to show gratitude or morality (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). The first phenomenon that could be studied when linking together philanthropy and psychology, is the do good, feel good phenomenon. Evidence suggests that helping others and helping behavior has positive psychological effects on the helper or donor, this can be called, emphatic joy (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). Economic models of philanthropy suggest that this section of motives is called warm glow or joy of giving (Bekkers Wiepking, 2010). In a similar shot, only half of his face is shown and this clearly symbolises the fact that only one half of him can ever be fully good at any one time the other half will always remain evil. However, sympathy is also evoked for Norman in this scene as we see that his mother takes an instant dislike to Marion something which you would not normally see between two strangers. We see how close and slightly strange the relationship between Norman and his mother and the unnatural dependence they have on each other, showing that Norman is trapped in his current situation and making him seem like a good person. A similar effect is used throughout the scene in Norman s parlour by with the use of light and dark as the lighting picks out significant features such as only one side of Norman s face and the underside of the owl s wings. The owl with its wings spread signifies his mother controlling his mind and shows that she is ever present, although we never see her, even when he is behaving normally she will always be inside his mind, therefore making the viewer feel sympathetic towards him as he has no control over his actions. Conversely, framing him next to an owl may suggest that Norman is a predator and the owl is his equal. For much of his early body of work, Hughes viewed Harlem as a glittering and vibrant neighborhood. However, as the peak of the movement dropped off into the doldrums of the Great Depression, Hughes work took on a more cynical view towards Harlem. For much of the early 19th century, Harlem remained a small, yet fashionable settlement. The Harlem Railroad as well as the Civil War brought even more wealth and infrastructure to the area. However, the Panic of Harlem in 1937, caused by the large amount of poor immigrants, initiated the city of New York to annex the neighborhood. This annexation proved to be a good thing for Harlem, as an economic recovery triggered new life and the opportunity to examine a fascinating new culture (Osborne, Boghani). The Cinderella Story In La Cenerentola By Gioachini Rossini Throughout time, the opera La Cenerentola by Gioachini Rossini has proven to be one the composer s most famous works, as well as the most famous operatic adaptation of the Cinderella story. However, the opera is in fact quite different from the well know fairy tale. There are certain advantages and disadvantages to Rossini and his librettist Ferreti s setting of the piece; significant pieces of the story are removed to make way for thoughtful substitutions. However, in the end he manages to deliver a fresh interpretation of the tale without sacrificing the timeless charm of the original fairy tale. The Cinderella Story has been a classic trope in literature throughout the ages, and there are numerous variations of the story across Africa, Asia, Persia, and even Native American Algonquian traditions. Some cite the earliest appearance of Cinderella as far back the first century CE with Greek Scholar Strabo s mention of the myth of Rhodopis. This story recounts a woman whose sandal was snatched by an eagle as she bathed in the river and carried to the king of Memphis, who immediately sought out the woman to whom the shoe belonged. However others cite the first documented Cinderella story as the tale of Ye Xian, written by Chinese scholar Duan Chengshi in 850 CE. In this version, Ye Xuan is gravely abused by her stepmothers and sisters, and her only friend is a fish, which the stepmother cruelly kills and eats. Dawn had stopped to do some shopping before heading to DNA Laboratories. Therefore, Fast as We Can Deliver could argue that she was furthering her own interests rather than the principals and therefore they should not be liable. However, courts commonly overlook minor deviations, and thus it is unlikely that this defense would stand. Also, since she was technically off duty at the time, the courts would likely find that it falls under the Dual Purpose mission section of negligence (Cheeseman, 2010, p 477). Meaning that in most jurisdictions the liability would fall on both the principal and the agent if she injuries someone while on such a mission. • 29. Charter Schools Vs. Public Schools Essay Charter schools are all the buzz in the media lately; they are what seems to be the sensible response to the path traditional public schools are heading, down the drain. However, charter schools still face many obstacles and issues, stemming from the fact that they are far less regulated than their public school counterparts. This enacts issues including lack of quality control, increased segregation, and severe misuse of funds. Likewise, charter schools are only going to become increasingly more competitive and higher quality if their closest competitors follow that path, meaning the most successful charters are the ones compared directly to private schools. Since charters are also attempting to make a profit, they will go to all extents, including discrimination to bring up the scores, and therefore gain more leverage in negotiating for more funds. Simply enough, the most logical and simple way to prevent charter schools from degrading in quality or becoming out of control is to put more regulation on them, while still allowing them to maintain many characteristics of an independent charter. The concept of a charter schools was put into place just 25 years ago, in Minnesota. The idea as letting schools manage their own finances and exist as a separate legal entity were not new, those ideas had been considered for nearly two decades before the first charter was enacted. It was pure chaos from the moment it struck the overly populated city. There were very few rescues that first evening of the earthquake, and as night fell, residents found themselves in a world of darkness and grief (Petrou). One of the larger problems with the earthquake was that it destroyed much of it s government offices and the capital city of Port au Prince, many of the resources that would have helped rescue people and revive the city were destroyed. Port au Prince had a population of 2 million people at the time, that s almost a fourth of the countries population, but the capitals infrastructure is layed out to support just over 115,000. • 42. The Murder Of Rapper Christopher Wallace No one was ever charged in the murder of rapper Christopher Wallace, aka. Notorious B.I.G. or Biggie Smalls, but I will show how a suspect would be tried if there were such a suspect. But first I would like to point out that this trial would be a media circus. To begin with the suspect could more than likely end up being one or more LAPD officers, a fact that the FBI has suggested in their report on Wallace that was released in 2011 (Federal Bureauof Investigation , n.d.). Then there is the gang aspect, Biggie had ties to the Crips, which he had reportedly hired to murder rival rapper Tupac Shakur, who was himself a Blood, just six months prior to his own murder. Subsequently, since no one has ever been formally charged in this case,I will try to use vague wording when referring to the suspect, and I will refer to him by of name Mr. Murder Suspect . I use the masculine only because there were no female suspects. After Mr. Murder Suspect was charged in the murder of Cristopher Wallace, arrested, formally charged at the first appearance, with the charges being upheld during the preliminary hearing, and then formally arraigned, where he plead not guilty to all charges. Now the trial is set to begin. (Schmalleger, 2014) The trial process begins with the selection of the jury. After the jury is selected the next stage is the opening statements. Since the prosecution has the burden of proof as to the defendant s guilt, the prosecutor s opening statement is given first. An ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mizon I obtained this product from Peach and Lily, an online shop that sells Asian skin care products similar to Jolse that is located in United States. This is my first experience shopping with them and quite frankly, I would rather not buy my products there again. I find that the product s high markups are not worth the fast shipping, so I d rather be patient in receiving my package to have it cost less. This is another snail product that I have been using recently along with my CosRX Snail Essence and CosRX All in One Cream. The reason I wanted to try this product out is because it is one of the most popular snail products ever.
