The First Day Of English Class
I look the first debate judge in the eyes and he nods. Then my gaze drifts to the second one and she
smiles. Finally I look to my right at my final judge, he simply winks at me. I close my eyes and count
to three. It s finally time to begin; this is my time. These next three minutes everyone has to listen to
me and my opinion. I open my mouth, but the only thought going through my head is, why? Why am I
doing this? Why am I here? Why did I make this mistake?
It was the first day of English class and the teacher asked, who here has ever given a class presentation
before? I looked around hoping, praying, that someone else is like me. However fate was not on my
side. Every hand in the class was proudly raised high and I was all alone on my little island of fear.
The teacher looked directly at me and asked why I had not ever done a presentation. I m a clicker, I
mumbled, it was barely audible but the teacher heard it and his face softened. Well Mr. Peschansky it s
time you become a talker.
A psychological study done in the early 70 s found that people are more afraid of public speaking then
of death. Standing at the front of the room in my first debate tournament I realize just how true that is.
All I can hear is my heart hammering away in my chest, my legs feel like they are going to give and I
m shaking all over.
I never opened my mouth when I was in grade school. I was the kid that was always reading. If my
head was not buried in a book then something was probably

Implementation Of A Non Breakable Encryption Algorithm
There has been a need for a non breakable encryption algorithm desired after since the establishment
of Cryptography was first matured. However, an algorithm is advised to be immune as long as there
has not been found susceptibility through cryptanalysis. Symmetric key block ciphers abide as the
largest and critical aspect in many cryptographic systems. Independently, they add confidentiality. As
a central construction block, their adaptability grants the manufacturing of pseudorandom stream
ciphers, number generators, hash functions, and MAC s. Moreover they serve as an essential
component in message verification methods, symmetric key signature schemes, entity confirmation
protocols, and data purity. Although Block ciphers are very powerful objects their design flaws and
complex interface opens the door for wider attacks.
No block cipher is equipped for all functions, even one contributing an immense state of asylum. This
is a result of impending accommodations needed in practical applications, containing those arising
from, for example, rate requirements and memory limitations such as data size, cache, code size, and
memory, forces imposed by implementation platforms such as (e.g., software, hardware, chipcards),
and distinct resistance of applications to properties of differing modes of operation. In addition,
efficiency ought typically to be traded off against security. Hence it is helpful to have a number of
contender ciphers from which to draw.

Kaheschi Caverns-Personal Narrative
I have decided to write an account of my experience. I can no longer trust other humans and have not
talked to one in months; and even if I did, not a person would believe what I have to say. But I still
feel the need to have a written record of this demonic event, in the hope that someone reading it will
take heed. I cannot put this off any longer, and can only hope that the recollection will leave what
remains of my sanity intact.
I drove north to the Adirondack Mountains last summer, packed with the necessary supplies for a
several
day camping trip. Having driven for much of the day, I was quite exhausted; and when night
found me still some distance from the campsite, I knew that I needed to find a place to sleep. My eye
was caught by a large sign on the side of the road

After the guides had made sure that Terence and I had both eaten breakfast and were well
equipped for
caving, we set off for Kaheschi Caverns.
The Caverns were but a short walk away, reached via a path that lead out into the forest from behind
the motel. The cave entrance was a wide, low crevice at the base of a steep hill, interposed between
the ground and a colossal wedge of rock. It looked to me uncannily like a cavernous mouth, devouring
any light that entered its gaping jaws; and as such, I was reluctant to walk into it. When I hesitated at
the threshold of the cave, however,
Terence called teasingly back to me, suggesting that if I was too afraid to come, I could return to my
motel room and reflect on how much of a coward I was. Embarrassed, I jogged through the cave
entrance to catch up with the rest of the group.
A rough, chiseled path led me down into the aperture, but I saw no kind of lighting to illuminate the
dark recesses of the cave. This was soon made clear when James the apparent leader of the guides, and
the most vocal paused and, taking off his

Two Layer Floodgate Lab Report
Two Layer Floodgate Can an increase of layers on a floodgate improve the performance of the
floodgate? If a second layer of popsicle sticks is added to a model floodgate made out of popsicle
sticks, then the two layer floodgate will be able to block more water. The control variables for this
experiment include where both tests were conducted (bathtub), the materials used for each floodgate
(same brand of popsicle sticks), the 20x6.x8.5 floral foam blocks on each side of the bathtub, the
location in the bathtub that the floodgates were placed in; all of these variables were the same for each
experiment. The independent variable was how many liters of water in the bathtub at one time. The
dependent variable was the amount of water the floodgate held back (measured in how high the water
level was on the south end of the bathtub). The floodgate with one layer was the control group; the
two layered one was the experimental group. The first procedure for this experiment was to gather
your materials. Next was to build the floodgates and set up the bathtub. To conduct the experiment,
pour 2 liters of water into the bathtub from the south end at a time, and log the results. The first design
of this experiment involved no clay or floral foam blocks, instead the floodgate was positioned
between two towels. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The design of the floodgates couldn t help but be flawed. No popsicle sticks will be created
completely the same. Therefore, when hot gluing them together, they won t match up perfectly, and
this will create small gaps that water can creep through. Also, the popsicle sticks may have shifted
before the glue was dry. The clay may have also let water through it. The clay was not allowed to dry
and stick to the bathtub before the experiment, and that was probably the problem. Water may have
evaporated or been absorbed by the floral foam or clay. All of these variables could have caused the
results received from this

Elegant Viola Instrument Report
The elegant Viola
For this instrument report I will be expanding on my favorite instrument, which is the viola. I decided
to pick this particular instrument because I truly enjoy the harmonic, lively and mysterious melodies it
produces when it is being played. Additionally, when the viola is played along with other instruments
its musical ranges complements the songs because it can alter between Soprano and Bass. Even
though it usually does not have solo music composed for it the viola is a string instrument that with its
elegant harmony can powerfully bring a deep and rhythmic tone to an orchestra performance. Another
reason I chose the viola was because I briefly played it in middle school from 7th until 8th grade and

Qualitative Research In Health Care
1. Introduce importance of qualitative interviews
Altarum will conduct a set of qualitative research interviews with a panel of 15 payer or resource
optimization experts that are representative of all sectors in healthcare. In terms of health services
delivery, it has been highlighted that one set standard of rules for reducing low value care overuse
depends greatly the how providers define the term and assess their options. In efforts to effectively
influence guidelines in cost sharing, policy and value based payments, it is necessary to grasp the crux
of low value care measures from a grouping of expert providers. With an emphasis placed on the
designation of low care value practice attribution and evidence based practice, a wide array of ... Show

This process begins with each individual expert prepared to engage half of the interviewees by
providing a supplemental overview and seeking permission to record the interview. With a foundation
rooted in qualitative research best practices, semi structured interviews will take place that meets our
identified topical trajectory with the ability to diverge. Deviation may momentously occur when the
interviewee reveals new approaches and/or recommendations that challenge disparities in the delivery
of care. These incidents are gravely invaluable to data collection and additionally supports the
significance of capturing each interview by recording. Researchers that do not record or have a
secondary route to capturing their interviews have to focus on taking their own notes during the
process which often produces unreliable summaries and diminishes the affinity between the
interviewee researcher. Both aspects in qualitative research are necessary when it comes to fostering
an environment that allows interviewees to extend our knowledge while preserving the integrity of the
data being collected. Semi structured interviews are less controlled but still warrants uniformity in
information obtained. Moreover, this method sustains replication for enhancing the matrix while
significantly reducing limitations on what is captured. This is often a challenge

A Brief Note On Water Supply And Sanitation
Water supply and sanitation is a problem in developing nations as they lack the proper resources to
install a water collection foundation. Bolivia can be considered a developing nation that has a water
supply problem as they do not necessarily have the proper infrastructure to supply their population and
they also lack a water regulation program. The village of Lupalaya is a small settlement located at
approximately 16.195 degrees latitude, 68.841 degrees longitude with an estimated elevation of
12,600 ft above sea level on the shore of Lake Titicaca. The village is also located 60 miles NW of the
largest populous city in Bolivia of La Paz. Due to Lupalaya s proximity to La Paz the village is greatly
affected by the La Paz El Alto concession which led to the privatization of water supply and
sanitation.
Introduction
Bolivia is a landlocked country located in central South America. The village of Lupalaya is located
five miles from the west central border with Peru on shore of Lake Titicaca. The village is also located
in a small mountain valley no more than .35 miles across. Lupalaya is also found on the Altiplano at
the high elevation of 12,600 ft above sea level. Even though Lupalaya is a small village they are
surrounded by many other villages and cities including the most populous city in Bolivia, La Paz.
Bolivia has a wet and a dry season throughout the year and this can turn into a problem when the need
for water is great but the groundwater levels are low,

Teenage Pregnancy Essay
Teenage pregnancy is one of the issues in our country today. It is a major problem because many
teenagers are not aware that having a child when you re a child yourself comes with big
responsibilities. Sometimes many teenagers feel like they must be sexual active to prove a point and
sometimes teenagers are even pressured by their friends or even their soul mate. Teenage pregnancy is
a very big problem and more needs to be done to prevent teen pregnancy and to educate teens about its
consequences.
A lot of places and people exist that teens can go to for information about teenage pregnancy. One of
the first places that teens can go to would be school because in school they provide classes that talks
about pregnancy and its consequences. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parents have already seen and have been through situations when they were teenagers, so they would
know what to say and would know how you feel because they were once teens. So, talking to a parent
can be helpful because they know what true love is and know how hard it is to raise A baby at such a
young age and because of that they would like for their children to know about it and that it s a major
problem to be involved in. Parents also can give you good advice on not worrying about boys or kids
while being a teen and to focus on making good decisions by staying in school and having a good
career for yourself.
In the same way doctors, can also communicate with teenagers about what they can do to stay away
from pregnancy. Doctors help teenagers by talking to them a showing them what can happen to them
by having unprotected sex and its consequences. They explain to teens that having unprotected sex
could leave them with a sexual transmitted disease or even a child that could mess their life up. The
Providers can offer sexually active teens a broad range of contraceptive methods and encourage them
to use the most effective methods (Best). Going to the doctors is always a good choice because they
give teens a brief explanation on teen pregnancy and goes over all its roles on why you don t want to
be a mother at such an early age. Teens

Why You Should Buy An Apple Macintosh Computer Essay
Do you own a computer? What kind of computer is it? Is it a Microsoft PC, running Windows Vista?
Or is it an Apple Macintosh running Mac OS X? Using a PC can be such a hassle. Macintosh
computers are so much better and easier to use than a PC. Macs also are better for the planet, have a
longer lifespan, have more reliable hardware, are less likely to crash or get viruses, have better
security features, it s very easy to transfer all your files from a PC to a Mac, and a Mac can be a PC if
you really wanted it too. But I will explain that last one later. First, I will tell you about how the build
of the Macintosh computer is a big reason of the rapid growth of Macs. In 2007, 2008, and 2009,
Apple s Macbook, Macbook Pro, and I Mac (their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A recent study by the magazine PC Advisor, stated that a Mac owner who uses no security software at
all runs less risk of getting spyware or a virus than a person who owns a PC and obsessively protects
it. In the year 2008 there were 114,000 known viruses for PC s. But there has never been a virus that
could harm a Mac. Apple does admit they have come across some security flaws, but within a day of
the flaws discovery Apple creates a security update, and every single Mac user gets a notification from
Apple saying that there is a flaw and an update available that can correct it. And personally, I think
one of the reasons Mac is so successful is because of their hardware. For example, lets pretend I
bought a new PC. Dell made the monitor and tower. Mircosoft made the hardware and operating
system. Intel made the processor. Nvidia made the graphics drive. And the consumer is the one putting
everything together. The average desktop PC takes 2.5 hours to put together, and you re the one who
has to do it! If you do one thing wrong you could cut your computer s life in half. The worst part is,
the more pieces and components that are in the computer, there are more places that something could
go wrong. When you buy a desktop Mac,

Limited Liability Companies ( Llcs ) Essay
Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) Rationale. The advent of the limited liability company in the
1990 s came about primarily to promote small business start ups by providing substantial asset
protection, simpler rules, and favorable state and local tax treatments (Millon, 2007; Riles Whitlock,
2003: Vandervoort, 2004). LLCs are also typically easier and less expensive to form and manage than
a corporation and quickly became the entity of choice (Hopson Hopson, 2014). Similarities to
corporations. Like corporations, LLCs are separate legal entities, and as with the shareholders of
corporations, the members of LLCs are provided significant asset protection from creditors and other
stakeholders (Riles Whitlock, 2003) by limiting the liability to the amount of the capital contribution
(Albert, 2015). This shifts the risk of failure and insolvency from the members to the creditors
(Millon, 2007).
Differences from corporations. Many of the differences between LLCs and corporations have been the
crux in the area of litigation, the first being the lack of corporate formalities. Unlike a corporation, an
LLC can be managed by its members or appointed managers and does not require periodic meetings.
Although every state now has LLC legislation (Albert, 2015) which impose default fiduciary duties,
these duties can be modified or eliminated altogether by the members of the LLC (Raju Remming,
2012). As opposed to corporations following FASB ASC 105 Generally

Stagecoach Essay
Stagecoach An Interpretation of Stagecoach
In 1939 John Ford masterminded a classical western film by the name of Stagecoach. This film has
the integrity of a fine work of art. Being that it could be considered a work of art, the impression left
on a viewing audience could differ relying on the audience s demographics. However, it is conceivable
to all audiences that Ford delivers a cast of characters that are built on stereotypes and perceptions
conjured from B westerns that preceded this film s time. Each character is introduced to the audience
in a stereotypical genre, as the film progresses, these stereotypes are broken down and the characters
become more humanized. This is apparent with a handful of characters being ... Show more content on

Her only claim to such an elite profile is her husband, who belongs to the US Calvary. Her
iconography is that of upper class women, nothing more really. She longs for her husband, she too is
arrogant to some degree, and she is despised of things subordinate to her nature. She is revolted Dallas
who is portrayed as a prostitute. She could not even bear to share a meal at the same table with
someone of Dallas s social standing. It is only after the birth of her child that she breaks away from
her stereotype. She realizes the aid and care that she received from Dallas with her newborn and soon
after begins to socially accept Dallas. This is not the last one will see of a character breaking their
stereotypical role.
This brings us to the characters that compose the middle class. These characters are: Curly, Hatfield,
Doc Boone and Peacock. The roles of these characters are not built and manifested throughout the
film. For instance, Curly is introduced as the sheriff out to imprison the Ringo kid. This is in line with
the B men of the justice of the peace. His major concern is to see that the laws of the land are upheld.
He deviates from this role at the very end of this film by letting the Ringo kid go. Clearly this is an
action that is not in line with his law keeping duty. Hatfield, a southern gambler, is really a unique
character. Most B western icons depicted as gamblers are usually shown as hard and

Hewlett Packard just like Kerzner Office Equipment faced a severe financial crisis resulting massive
job cuts. The job cuts had a tremendous impact on employee morale where Hewlett Packard
established better communication with employees by adopting MBWA method. But Amber Briggs, the
human resource specialist did not establish a face to face interaction. Amber Briggs should have gone
to meet the assigned employees to build a network and cooperation with them. Thus, Amber Briggs
could have gained more support in the first meeting. Like Southwest Airlines, Kerzner s new CEO
Justin Tubbs wanted to build better relationship with employees. Unlike Kerzner, Southwest even
during tough external market maintained high integrity and cooperation with employees. Amber Brigs
like Southwest should adopt personal related currencies that can help others feel a sense of importance

Unit 7 Deuteronomy 6
Unit #7 Biblical Reflection
In Deuteronomy 6, Moses reminded the people of Israel about all that the Lord had and would
continue to do for them. He also reminded them that the Lord is the only true God, and He demands
complete devotion from His people. If the Israelites obeyed the commands of the Lord, He would
cause life to ...go well with you..., and the Israelites would ...increase greatly in a land flowing with
milk and honey... (Deut. 6:3). However, the Lord would punish disobedience with disaster. Thus,
Moses described the Lord as gracious and benevolent, but He is also the rightful ruler and judge of all
peoples. He alone is God, and He demands to be worshipped as such. Over one thousand years later,
the apostle Paul discussed some of the same attributes of God in his letter to the Corinthians.
Specifically, in the first few verses of chapter 8, Paul discussed the authority of the Lord as the one
true God, and he declared that ...whoever loves God is known by God (1 Corinth. 8:3). Interestingly,
in Paul s brief discussion of the authority of God, he referenced and expounded upon the Shema,
which Moses had initially declared in Deuteronomy 6. The Shema proclaims Hear, O Israel: The Lord
our God, the Lord is one (Deut. 6:4). Paul further explained that There is no God but one (1 Corinth.
8:4b), but the one true ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, an understanding of the various roles of the Godhead also provides comfort as we serve
God in our individual lives. For example, knowing that the Spirit is our permanent, always present

In this paper I will be going over and discussing what international finance, exchange rates and also
balance of payments. I will be talking about what they are, what they do, and how they affect us an
economy and country. I will be discussing the basic definitions, and the basic concepts of their duties.
First I will be going over international finance and the role it plays in our daily lives. Then I will
discuss the price differences between items in the United States and Germany. I will add and compare
them together. I will also go over what the concept balance of payments are.
International Finance International finance is defined the study of international monetary economics,
which involve the interaction of international transactions. (Investopedia, 2015) These transactions
consist of factors, such as national income, money and prices. The international monetary system is
made up of institutions, international organizations, governments, and private economic entities that
all participate in the exchange of financial assets worldwide. (Smith, 2012) With international trade,
international finance is the result of the fact that economic activity is affected by the existence of
nations. If there weren t any national economies, then we would not have this field. If we didn t have
international trade, we would not need international finance. Countries do trade with each other. Some
countries, not all but many of them use their own currencies we have to wonder about how

Human Cloning
Cloning of Dolly the Sheep was a first on many fronts. First, it represented the first mammal ever to
be cloned from a somatic cell. It also sets a benchmark on which to evaluate other animal cloning
experiments going forward. Secondly, her cloning was the start of controversy and panic in regards to
animal cloning, as it raised the question of whether scientists would seek to clone humans too, and the
ethics behind such a practice, should it ever be adopted. Over the past few years, animal cloning has
yielded remarkable results, and this has given scientists hope of a possible human clone over the next
few years (University of Utah Health Sciences n.p.). When such reports of cloning success appear in
the media, only few attempts works. However, for every success story, there are many other cloning
experiments that have dismally failed. Out of 100 cloning experiments, less than three, at the
maximum, yield viable offsprings (Harper n.p.). Even for these few success stories about cloning,
problems often emerge later, as the animal develops towards adulthood. Although there is limited
scientific explanations for the cause of such high failure rates, most researchers believe that it is an
indication of the technical hurdles facing cloning experiments. The important lesson that can be drawn
from the cloning of animals is the likely influences in case humans are cloned. While a growing

Are Data Algorithms And Algorithms Can Be Been Solving...
Traditional statisticians have been solving data problems for years. Example, when faced with the
large data problem statisticians had a simple and proven technique to solve the problem by sampling
the records. This is a sound methodology as the statisticians could prove statistically that a
representative or random sample could speak for the whole population. The only problem was that
when stakeholders wanted to drill down into the details they inevitably had to query the whole file.
The reality is that data scientists run various data mining techniques and various algorithms that can
accommodate both large and small files. However, companies may want to consider examining and
cleansing the data they collect before running their analyses. This brings up the question of whether or
not big data methods and algorithms can be considered reliable. Data quality is still a challenge even
in the world of big data.
The reality is that he world of big data is somewhat messy. Given data is collected so fast and is
usually unprocessed (raw) it may be incomplete versus most traditional transactional data. Data may
be missing many values or may contain incomplete records. Customer profiles may even be
incomplete. Many companies embark upon a formal data cleansing strategy before or after placing
data into their big data environment.
Cleansing data initiatives vary among companies because it costs time and money. Spending time up
front to cleanse data can pay off, in the end, resulting

Signs Of Autism Essay
Autism affects many different individuals in today s society. In fact, 1 in 68 people have some form of
Autism Spectrum Disorder ( Autism Fact Sheet ). It affects every race and ethnic group but studies
have shown it is typically shown more in males. Autism indicates a group of complicated
neurodevelopment disorders depicted by repetitive and characteristic patterns of behavior and
struggles with social communication and interaction. There is no exact cause of autism but it is
believed that certain genes are associated with the disorder. Researchers have noticed some differences
in some regions of the brain. It is also believed that genetics and environment may play a role.
Typically the signs and symptoms of autism are noticed during the first three years of a child s life (
Autism Symptoms ). The signs of autism vary from case to case but there are some present in most.
These are how an individual acts regarding social interactions, verbal or nonverbal communication,
and a limited interest in activities or play. Laura Hensley noticed the signs and symptoms when her

Cide In The Rocide Genocide
genocide the deliberate killing to eliminate of a group of people of the same race, religion or ethnicity.
This word is derived from a combination of a Greek word genos ( race or tribe ) and a Latin word cide
( killing ). In 1994, in the beginning of April, the same has happened in Rwanda. A genocide.
Before the colonial period in Rwanda, there were three classifications of people. Hutus, who made up
the majority of the population 84%, Tutsi who were only 17% and Twa who only made up 1%. Hutus
were from less privileged families and were cultivators, Tutsis were cattle herders and from rich
families, and Twa were potters and were outshined by the other groups (Stapleton 28). However, these
classifications were based on the number of cattle people owned. People who owned 10 cows or more
were considered Tutsi and people with less than 10 cows were considered Hutu. People could shift
from being a Hutu to a Tutsi or vice versa depending on the number of cattle they had. Before
colonization Tutsis and Hutus lived peacefully (Warren 19).
During the colonial period tensions from all corners, politically, educationally and socially were
created such that hatred and violence was harbored in Hutus and they decided to eliminate fellow
Rwandese, Tutsis. The existence of ethnicities itself did not lead to the Tutsi Genocide since they
existed even before the colonial era.
In 1914 after Germany lost all its colonies, Rwanda which was also one of Germany colonies was

Major Psychological Complications Related To Abortion
Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28
weeks of pregnancy. The United States Supreme Court legalized abortion in 1973: currently there are
about 1.2 million abortions that are being performed each year in the United States (Trupin). Around
the world there are 20 to 30 million legal abortions that are being performed and 10 to 20 million
illegal abortions that are performed. Trupin states, Abortion is one of the most visible, controversial,

when teaching or explaining class concepts. When selecting my project 2 product, I connected my
experiences with the uses of the classroom whiteboard and thought of a Whiteboard Squeegee . Now
that I am at the point in the design process where I analyze the potential users and stakeholders, I
narrowed down the user group for the whiteboard to studio professors and students. There are certain
characteristics that make this user group unique ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This issue is brought to light from Donald Norman s different perspective, for people themselves are
often unaware of their true needs, even unaware of the difficulties they are encountering (Norman 9). I
have been using whiteboard erasers for my entire academic career and have always subconsciously
noted the fact that using them, especially on a large board, comes with its issues. They can be tiring
and difficult to reach and clean the entire board, due to the small handheld eraser that has been
adopted and remained relatively unchanged. The whiteboard eraser in the studio classroom seems to
have been overlooked by the user group perhaps for multiple reasons, which adds strength to my cause
as a designer. The ability to design for a group of individuals who thoroughly appreciate innovation
allows for my project to have a strong potential impact. Initially, I assumed that my user group would
contain but not be limited to people who interact in a classroom. The fault in this thinking comes into
play when defining the unique characteristics of the user group. A generic classroom doesn t
necessarily need a larger ergonomic whiteboard eraser because it doesn t hold much value to them
outside of its function as an eraser. My target user group is in constant need of products and scenery
that enhance the classrooms design identity. Though a white board eraser may seem insignificant, it
could inspire the design of

Corruption Of The Clergy In The Canterbury Tales By...
Geoffrey Chaucer is often referred to as the father of English literature. Chaucer s work, The
Canterbury Tales, was the first major literary work done in the English. Chaucer expresses his feelings
on the corruption of the church clergy in the General Prologue through the characters such as the
Pardoner, the Prioress, and the Friar. These characters express many of the different misgivings of the
clergy in that period. The Pardoner is described to be quite the physically unattractive man, but that is
just the start. He is even uglier on the inside than he is on the outside. The Pardoner scams hard
working people out of their money by selling false relics. He advertises pig s bones as the remains of
saints, he uses a pillowcase as the veil of Mary and a sheet as the sail of Peter. The Pardoner tells the
pilgrims that he is only preaching to make money, not for the love of god. Chaucer s Pardoner
character is supposed to represent the greed and dishonesty within the clergy. The Pardoner is a man
of greed like much of the clergy in Chaucer s time. Chaucer feels like the clergy has money on their
mind more than they have God and the flock on their mind. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Prioress attempts to present herself as something she is not, thus exposing her extreme vanity. Her
attempts to seem dainty and well bred fall quite flat in the story. She is more concerned with her
vanity than with people she is supposed to help. She tries too hard to be delicate, She was so
charitably solicitous she used to weep if she but saw a mouse caught in a trap, if it were dead or
bleeding. (Chaucer 147 149). The Prioress cares more for her little dog than for the people she is
supposed to be preaching to. Chaucer uses the Prioress s character to represent the vanity present in
most clergy, they were more concerned with their

Motifs
Motifs are essential to any work of literature as they help establish an overarching theme. Arthur
Miller s play All My Sons contains various motifs concealed within the story of a businessman who
made a mistake that costed the lives of 21 pilots. The author includes the motif of intelligence
throughout the play to prove that some people know more than they let on. Though Ann seems like a
kind hearted innocent young woman she is capable of scheming in order to get what she wants. When
she is first introduced the stage directions read (...) gentle but despite herself capable of holding fast to
what she knows (23). Though she appears to be charming on the outside she *knows a lot of
information and is willing to use it to her advantage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ann s acquisition is Chris, she will use whatever she can whether it be plotting or enticement to get
him. Her reason for visiting the Keller household after several years is questioned by Kate when she
says Nobody comes seven hundred miles just to see (21). Though both Chris and Ann make it out to
seem they just want to see each other again on friendly terms Chris invited her over with the intention
of proposing to her. Ann is aware of this and wishes for Chris to propose to her as well because she
loves him. This is evident as she goes a long distance to see him, during a time where it is
*complicated and expensive to travel. In her first appearance to the reader Ann is wearing an
expensive dress No kidding, now, isn t she the prettiest gal you ever saw? (24). Miller limns the dress
as stunning and extravagant, this is quite reminiscent of a description of a wedding dress. The dress is
a symbol for marriage and allurement as Ann wore it with the intention of gaining Chris s attention in
hopes he will ask her to marry him. When Jim is introduced to Ann for the first time he says She looks
very intelligent! (24). Though he is implying that she is

Descartes Discourse Method
Descartes, A discourse on the method, 1637 coincides with the authors argument the although
Descartes was taught at the best school in England he left without feeling intellectually accomplished,
that he instead had doubts which reviled to him how ignorant he was. That Descartes believing he was
ignorant in order to gain knowledge created a method that could establish absolute truth if only for
himself as although he can try to show others what he believes they have to come to an agreement
with it in order to internalize it. In this method Descartes would disregard his senses and use logic.
Descartes decided that he would not accept everything he was told to be true nor would he trust what
he perceived to be true because he, like everyone else,

2012 Presidential Elections
The results of both the 2004 and 2012 Presidential elections were the same as both incumbents were
able to capitalize on the voters being comfortable with them. Additional, since both incumbents had
access to national assets, four years of on the job training, and insider information they were able to
speak in depth on a wide range of issues both foreign and domestic. In 2004, the largest and most
important issue to the nation was the war in Iraqi and in 2012 it was the nation s economy. Given the
incumbents access to firsthand information on the issues at large, they were able to weaken their
opponents in the nation s eyes by dismantling the candidate s strategies on the issues. History has
shown that nations trend to focus more on domestic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Campaign Strategies used by the incumbents in both the 2004 and 2012 presidential elections were
direct and aggressive, using media outlets to launch phased targeting to discredit candidates by
highlighting indecisiveness and lacking of understand on controversial issues. In both elections the
candidates that successful used the media were able to garnered support from nation as they were able
to stay steps ahead of their opponents, forcing them to constantly defend themselves and legalize their
campaigns. For example, President Obama used ads to undermine Mitt Romney s time running the
investment firm Bain Capital (strength of Romney s campaign) against him, stating that because of
Mitt Romney s time at Bain he would be unable to relate to average. This forced Romney to alter his
campaign strategy as more Americans began to question Romney stance on multiple issues, especially
taxes, during an election in which the primary issue was the nation s economy. Similar strategies were
utilized in the 2004 and 2012 elections, giving the incumbents a huge advantage from day one. When
you combine the election results and campaign strategy with the voter turnout with only a 2 5 percent
difference in voting age population turnout, it is clear why both elections resulted in the incumbent
being reelected. I believe that the nation applied the old saying, if it is not broke, then don t fix it
during both the 2004 and 2012 presidential

Apple s Latest Tablet Platform
Introduction
Apple s latest tablet platform recently launched onto the market and is deemed to be the most
advanced and powerful iPad (Apple, 2015a) the company has ever created. Referred to as the iPad
Pro, the tablet features a 12.9 inch Retina display with 5.6 million pixels and additional accessories
that further extend its utility (Apple, 2015a). The Pencil, an accessory to the tablet is pitched as a
stylus that delivers a whole new level of precision for drawing and sketching (Apple, 2015a). Also
available as a separate purchase is the new Smart Keyboard (Apple, 2015a) which allows users to type
as if they would with a laptop. With the iPad Pro, Apple diversifies its target market buy opting to

From that, it can be proposed that through discussing a company s policy set by the management an
aspect of the internal environment is being analyzed. In this report, Apple s mission to minimize the
impact the Apple products have on the environment will be discussed and argued as a factor that can
aid towards successful management of profitable relationships.
Environmental policy
Apple s management implementing certain policies and values efforts to create market demand for its
products. For instance, the company s stance against climate change (Apple, 2015b) indicates its
commitment to sustainability. Stated in the company s 2015 Environmental Responsibility Report,
Apple upholds its stance through renewable energy usage and eliminating destructive usage of paper
(2015b). This is effective as this will satisfy consumer demand for sustainable products and in that
way will attract new customers and ensure retention of existing customers that are keen to contribute
towards saving the environment.
Microenvironment
The marketing environment is not only concerned with factors internal to the organization but also
those outside it. This is true for the microenvironment, which can be described as the actors within or
close to the company that affect its ability to serve customers (Armstrong and Kotler, 2015). In this
report, actors customers and competitors will be analyzed with regards to

Warm And Friendly Alpena
Alpena, a warm and friendly port . That motto could almost make you think that Alpena is something
out of the 1950s: Everybody knows one another, smiles all around, and constantly nice weather. But in
reality, our city is nothing like that. If we had the opportunity to change our city to something more...
warm and friendly... what could be done? Right off the back, we need to fix the warm and friendly
part of Alpena. Anyone who lives here can tell you that the locals get quite aggressive at times. Just
look at this Christmas season. I have heard endless stories from employees at our local stores about
rude and aggressive customers. I have seen with my own eyes how people can get. Now we can t just
order the citizens to be nicer to each other, it s a free country. But we can start somewhere. Social
experiments have shown that little acts of kindness go a long way. If more people take the ... Show

Now we need the third side to the triangle: sociality. In a small town such as Alpena, it is generally
assumed that the population knows one another. But is that really true? Sure, if you go to Wal mart
you might see a coworker, or maybe a cousin (though that is relatively common), but does that mean
that you know every single person in Alpena? This also ties into the mentality aspect because chances
are you will be nicer to someone that you know versus someone that you don t know. Is there a
solution to such a dilemma? Of course there is! The city of Alpena can hold citywide social interaction
events. Get all of the citizens of this fine city gathered together, in a sort of getting to know you deal,
because Alpena falls short in these kinds of things. The only times that we really get together as a city
are when we attend parades, or at the Fourth of July fireworks. If we get the people involved with each
other, then they will be theoretically nicer and more helpful toward each other (I can t promise

Usually, the length of stay Lange from 90days and above depend on their prognosis. The main reason
these patients are admitted to the nursing home facility for short stay is to receive post hospitalization
and post operative care like intravenous medication, physical and occupational therapy. Each year,
millions of older people 65 and older fall. In fact, more than one out of four older people fall each
year. One out of five falls causes a serious injury such as broken bones or a head injury. Each year, 2.8
million older people are treated in emergency departments for fall related injuries. (CDC,2015).Fall in
the nursing home is a huge problem .Elder people living in nursing homes die every year due to falls
related injury .These falls cause so many injuries leaving our patient with permanent injury each year.

Blake Lively Embodies The Characteristics Of An Epic Hero
When thinking of a hero people usually think of someone who wears a cape, comes from another
planet, and/or has a superpower. Though that is true epic heroes grow beyond superpowers and capes.
While epic heroes have many of the same characteristics as a superhero they act much different. A
great example of an epic hero would be Blake Lively. Blake Lively embodies the characteristics of an
epic hero because she had a noble birth, humility, and has national heroism. Blake Lively is a perfect
example of someone who had a noble birth. When the author writes, Her father, Ernie, was an actor
and director and her mother, Elaine, was a talent scout. the author is indirectly saying that they are
basically rich ( Blake ). She embodies this epic hero

The Gullah/Geechee people are a group of Black Americans from North Carolina, South Carolina,
Georgia, and Florida. The Gullah/Geechee people are a distinctive group of African Americans that
have been the most successful in preserving customs and traditions from their Africa culture. This
group has maintained their native tradition and customs in America more than any other African
American group. According to National Geographic An environmental impact statement published in
2005 estimated that 200,000 people of Gullah and Geechee heritage live along the southeast coast

During the course of history, the Gullah has protected their heritage through language, food, and

America one pot dishes, proved to be very instrumental in providing nutrition to the unbalanced
rations that they received from their masters. Deep frying, rice dishes, seafood, boiling, and steaming,
baking in ashes, basic and natural seasonings, and an consistent use of rice provides a distinct taste
when Gullah people are cooking. Simply speaking, Gullah food is about ancestral ties and American

The Privacy Of The Patriot Act
Privacy
The misuse of our personal information collected by private and public institutions has made privacy,
or the lack of it, a major societal concern today. One of the biggest reasons privacy has become such
an issue is the enactment of the Patriot Act , signed into law in reaction to the attacks on 9/11/2001.
This act broadened the ability for the US government to collect surveillance on people in order to
protect against terrorism inside the US. Critiques say it violates our civil liberties and undermines our
democracy. One example of this is the collection and storage of phone data by the government under
the Patriot Act. Is this an invasion of privacy? In order to keep society safe, a certain amount of private
information has to be known by Law Enforcement. In order to collect taxes and for society to
function, the government also needs some information. Collecting basic information isn t an invasion
of privacy, but the collection phone data is too intrusive. Can the public trust the government to not
miss use or lose the information they have on them?
The government and major companies have frequently leaked and misused the public s information.
For example, in Ted Koppel s 2005 article on Take My Privacy, Please! , he mentions how Bank of
America lost personal information on about 1.2 million federal government employees, including
some senators. LexisNexis unintentionally gave outsiders access to personal files on over 310,000
people. Time Warner

  • 2. The First Day Of English Class I look the first debate judge in the eyes and he nods. Then my gaze drifts to the second one and she smiles. Finally I look to my right at my final judge, he simply winks at me. I close my eyes and count to three. It s finally time to begin; this is my time. These next three minutes everyone has to listen to me and my opinion. I open my mouth, but the only thought going through my head is, why? Why am I doing this? Why am I here? Why did I make this mistake? It was the first day of English class and the teacher asked, who here has ever given a class presentation before? I looked around hoping, praying, that someone else is like me. However fate was not on my side. Every hand in the class was proudly raised high and I was all alone on my little island of fear. The teacher looked directly at me and asked why I had not ever done a presentation. I m a clicker, I mumbled, it was barely audible but the teacher heard it and his face softened. Well Mr. Peschansky it s time you become a talker. A psychological study done in the early 70 s found that people are more afraid of public speaking then of death. Standing at the front of the room in my first debate tournament I realize just how true that is. All I can hear is my heart hammering away in my chest, my legs feel like they are going to give and I m shaking all over. I never opened my mouth when I was in grade school. I was the kid that was always reading. If my head was not buried in a book then something was probably ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Implementation Of A Non Breakable Encryption Algorithm There has been a need for a non breakable encryption algorithm desired after since the establishment of Cryptography was first matured. However, an algorithm is advised to be immune as long as there has not been found susceptibility through cryptanalysis. Symmetric key block ciphers abide as the largest and critical aspect in many cryptographic systems. Independently, they add confidentiality. As a central construction block, their adaptability grants the manufacturing of pseudorandom stream ciphers, number generators, hash functions, and MAC s. Moreover they serve as an essential component in message verification methods, symmetric key signature schemes, entity confirmation protocols, and data purity. Although Block ciphers are very powerful objects their design flaws and complex interface opens the door for wider attacks. No block cipher is equipped for all functions, even one contributing an immense state of asylum. This is a result of impending accommodations needed in practical applications, containing those arising from, for example, rate requirements and memory limitations such as data size, cache, code size, and memory, forces imposed by implementation platforms such as (e.g., software, hardware, chipcards), and distinct resistance of applications to properties of differing modes of operation. In addition, efficiency ought typically to be traded off against security. Hence it is helpful to have a number of contender ciphers from which to draw. Block Cipher ... • 4. Kaheschi Caverns-Personal Narrative I have decided to write an account of my experience. I can no longer trust other humans and have not talked to one in months; and even if I did, not a person would believe what I have to say. But I still feel the need to have a written record of this demonic event, in the hope that someone reading it will take heed. I cannot put this off any longer, and can only hope that the recollection will leave what remains of my sanity intact. I drove north to the Adirondack Mountains last summer, packed with the necessary supplies for a several day camping trip. Having driven for much of the day, I was quite exhausted; and when night found me still some distance from the campsite, I knew that I needed to find a place to sleep. My eye was caught by a large sign on the side of the road that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the guides had made sure that Terence and I had both eaten breakfast and were well equipped for caving, we set off for Kaheschi Caverns. The Caverns were but a short walk away, reached via a path that lead out into the forest from behind the motel. The cave entrance was a wide, low crevice at the base of a steep hill, interposed between the ground and a colossal wedge of rock. It looked to me uncannily like a cavernous mouth, devouring any light that entered its gaping jaws; and as such, I was reluctant to walk into it. When I hesitated at the threshold of the cave, however, Terence called teasingly back to me, suggesting that if I was too afraid to come, I could return to my motel room and reflect on how much of a coward I was. Embarrassed, I jogged through the cave entrance to catch up with the rest of the group. A rough, chiseled path led me down into the aperture, but I saw no kind of lighting to illuminate the dark recesses of the cave. This was soon made clear when James the apparent leader of the guides, and the most vocal paused and, taking off his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Two Layer Floodgate Lab Report Two Layer Floodgate Can an increase of layers on a floodgate improve the performance of the floodgate? If a second layer of popsicle sticks is added to a model floodgate made out of popsicle sticks, then the two layer floodgate will be able to block more water. The control variables for this experiment include where both tests were conducted (bathtub), the materials used for each floodgate (same brand of popsicle sticks), the 20x6.x8.5 floral foam blocks on each side of the bathtub, the location in the bathtub that the floodgates were placed in; all of these variables were the same for each experiment. The independent variable was how many liters of water in the bathtub at one time. The dependent variable was the amount of water the floodgate held back (measured in how high the water level was on the south end of the bathtub). The floodgate with one layer was the control group; the two layered one was the experimental group. The first procedure for this experiment was to gather your materials. Next was to build the floodgates and set up the bathtub. To conduct the experiment, pour 2 liters of water into the bathtub from the south end at a time, and log the results. The first design of this experiment involved no clay or floral foam blocks, instead the floodgate was positioned between two towels. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The design of the floodgates couldn t help but be flawed. No popsicle sticks will be created completely the same. Therefore, when hot gluing them together, they won t match up perfectly, and this will create small gaps that water can creep through. Also, the popsicle sticks may have shifted before the glue was dry. The clay may have also let water through it. The clay was not allowed to dry and stick to the bathtub before the experiment, and that was probably the problem. Water may have evaporated or been absorbed by the floral foam or clay. All of these variables could have caused the results received from this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Elegant Viola Instrument Report The elegant Viola For this instrument report I will be expanding on my favorite instrument, which is the viola. I decided to pick this particular instrument because I truly enjoy the harmonic, lively and mysterious melodies it produces when it is being played. Additionally, when the viola is played along with other instruments its musical ranges complements the songs because it can alter between Soprano and Bass. Even though it usually does not have solo music composed for it the viola is a string instrument that with its elegant harmony can powerfully bring a deep and rhythmic tone to an orchestra performance. Another reason I chose the viola was because I briefly played it in middle school from 7th until 8th grade and through those years ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduce importance of qualitative interviews Altarum will conduct a set of qualitative research interviews with a panel of 15 payer or resource optimization experts that are representative of all sectors in healthcare. In terms of health services delivery, it has been highlighted that one set standard of rules for reducing low value care overuse depends greatly the how providers define the term and assess their options. In efforts to effectively influence guidelines in cost sharing, policy and value based payments, it is necessary to grasp the crux of low value care measures from a grouping of expert providers. This process begins with each individual expert prepared to engage half of the interviewees by providing a supplemental overview and seeking permission to record the interview. With a foundation rooted in qualitative research best practices, semi structured interviews will take place that meets our identified topical trajectory with the ability to diverge. Deviation may momentously occur when the interviewee reveals new approaches and/or recommendations that challenge disparities in the delivery of care. These incidents are gravely invaluable to data collection and additionally supports the significance of capturing each interview by recording. Researchers that do not record or have a secondary route to capturing their interviews have to focus on taking their own notes during the process which often produces unreliable summaries and diminishes the affinity between the interviewee researcher. Both aspects in qualitative research are necessary when it comes to fostering an environment that allows interviewees to extend our knowledge while preserving the integrity of the data being collected. Semi structured interviews are less controlled but still warrants uniformity in information obtained. Moreover, this method sustains replication for enhancing the matrix while significantly reducing limitations on what is captured. This is often a challenge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. A Brief Note On Water Supply And Sanitation Water supply and sanitation is a problem in developing nations as they lack the proper resources to install a water collection foundation. Bolivia can be considered a developing nation that has a water supply problem as they do not necessarily have the proper infrastructure to supply their population and they also lack a water regulation program. The village of Lupalaya is a small settlement located at approximately 16.195 degrees latitude, 68.841 degrees longitude with an estimated elevation of 12,600 ft above sea level on the shore of Lake Titicaca. The village is also located 60 miles NW of the largest populous city in Bolivia of La Paz. Due to Lupalaya s proximity to La Paz the village is greatly affected by the La Paz El Alto concession which led to the privatization of water supply and sanitation. Introduction Bolivia is a landlocked country located in central South America. The village of Lupalaya is located five miles from the west central border with Peru on shore of Lake Titicaca. The village is also located in a small mountain valley no more than .35 miles across. Lupalaya is also found on the Altiplano at the high elevation of 12,600 ft above sea level. • 10. Why You Should Buy An Apple Macintosh Computer Essay Do you own a computer? What kind of computer is it? Is it a Microsoft PC, running Windows Vista? Or is it an Apple Macintosh running Mac OS X? Using a PC can be such a hassle. Macintosh computers are so much better and easier to use than a PC. Macs also are better for the planet, have a longer lifespan, have more reliable hardware, are less likely to crash or get viruses, have better security features, it s very easy to transfer all your files from a PC to a Mac, and a Mac can be a PC if you really wanted it too. But I will explain that last one later. First, I will tell you about how the build of the Macintosh computer is a big reason of the rapid growth of Macs. In 2007, 2008, and 2009, Apple s Macbook, Macbook Pro, and I Mac (their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A recent study by the magazine PC Advisor, stated that a Mac owner who uses no security software at all runs less risk of getting spyware or a virus than a person who owns a PC and obsessively protects it. In the year 2008 there were 114,000 known viruses for PC s. But there has never been a virus that could harm a Mac. Apple does admit they have come across some security flaws, but within a day of the flaws discovery Apple creates a security update, and every single Mac user gets a notification from Apple saying that there is a flaw and an update available that can correct it. And personally, I think one of the reasons Mac is so successful is because of their hardware. For example, lets pretend I bought a new PC. Dell made the monitor and tower. Mircosoft made the hardware and operating system. Intel made the processor. Nvidia made the graphics drive. And the consumer is the one putting everything together. The average desktop PC takes 2.5 hours to put together, and you re the one who has to do it! If you do one thing wrong you could cut your computer s life in half. The worst part is, the more pieces and components that are in the computer, there are more places that something could go wrong. When you buy a desktop Mac, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Limited Liability Companies ( Llcs ) Essay Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) Rationale. The advent of the limited liability company in the 1990 s came about primarily to promote small business start ups by providing substantial asset protection, simpler rules, and favorable state and local tax treatments (Millon, 2007; Riles Whitlock, 2003: Vandervoort, 2004). LLCs are also typically easier and less expensive to form and manage than a corporation and quickly became the entity of choice (Hopson Hopson, 2014). Similarities to corporations. Like corporations, LLCs are separate legal entities, and as with the shareholders of corporations, the members of LLCs are provided significant asset protection from creditors and other stakeholders (Riles Whitlock, 2003) by limiting the liability to the amount of the capital contribution (Albert, 2015). This shifts the risk of failure and insolvency from the members to the creditors (Millon, 2007). Differences from corporations. Many of the differences between LLCs and corporations have been the crux in the area of litigation, the first being the lack of corporate formalities. Unlike a corporation, an LLC can be managed by its members or appointed managers and does not require periodic meetings. Although every state now has LLC legislation (Albert, 2015) which impose default fiduciary duties, these duties can be modified or eliminated altogether by the members of the LLC (Raju Remming, 2012). This film has the integrity of a fine work of art. Being that it could be considered a work of art, the impression left on a viewing audience could differ relying on the audience s demographics. However, it is conceivable to all audiences that Ford delivers a cast of characters that are built on stereotypes and perceptions conjured from B westerns that preceded this film s time. Each character is introduced to the audience in a stereotypical genre, as the film progresses, these stereotypes are broken down and the characters become more humanized. She is revolted Dallas who is portrayed as a prostitute. She could not even bear to share a meal at the same table with someone of Dallas s social standing. It is only after the birth of her child that she breaks away from her stereotype. She realizes the aid and care that she received from Dallas with her newborn and soon after begins to socially accept Dallas. This is not the last one will see of a character breaking their stereotypical role. This brings us to the characters that compose the middle class. These characters are: Curly, Hatfield, Doc Boone and Peacock. The roles of these characters are not built and manifested throughout the film. For instance, Curly is introduced as the sheriff out to imprison the Ringo kid. This is in line with the B men of the justice of the peace. His major concern is to see that the laws of the land are upheld. He deviates from this role at the very end of this film by letting the Ringo kid go. Clearly this is an action that is not in line with his law keeping duty. Hatfield, a southern gambler, is really a unique character. • 14. Unit 7 Deuteronomy 6 Unit #7 Biblical Reflection In Deuteronomy 6, Moses reminded the people of Israel about all that the Lord had and would continue to do for them. He also reminded them that the Lord is the only true God, and He demands complete devotion from His people. If the Israelites obeyed the commands of the Lord, He would cause life to ...go well with you..., and the Israelites would ...increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey... (Deut. 6:3). However, the Lord would punish disobedience with disaster. Thus, Moses described the Lord as gracious and benevolent, but He is also the rightful ruler and judge of all peoples. He alone is God, and He demands to be worshipped as such. Over one thousand years later, the apostle Paul discussed some of the same attributes of God in his letter to the Corinthians. Specifically, in the first few verses of chapter 8, Paul discussed the authority of the Lord as the one true God, and he declared that ...whoever loves God is known by God (1 Corinth. 8:3). Interestingly, in Paul s brief discussion of the authority of God, he referenced and expounded upon the Shema, which Moses had initially declared in Deuteronomy 6. The Shema proclaims Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one (Deut. 6:4). Paul further explained that There is no God but one (1 Corinth. 8:4b), but the one true ... I will be talking about what they are, what they do, and how they affect us an economy and country. I will be discussing the basic definitions, and the basic concepts of their duties. First I will be going over international finance and the role it plays in our daily lives. Then I will discuss the price differences between items in the United States and Germany. I will add and compare them together. I will also go over what the concept balance of payments are. International Finance International finance is defined the study of international monetary economics, which involve the interaction of international transactions. (Investopedia, 2015) These transactions consist of factors, such as national income, money and prices. The international monetary system is made up of institutions, international organizations, governments, and private economic entities that all participate in the exchange of financial assets worldwide. (Smith, 2012) With international trade, international finance is the result of the fact that economic activity is affected by the existence of nations. • 16. The Cloning Of The Sheep Name: Lanster Yang Teacher: Mrs. DeGregorio Course: English III Date: 8 May 2015 Human Cloning Cloning of Dolly the Sheep was a first on many fronts. First, it represented the first mammal ever to be cloned from a somatic cell. It also sets a benchmark on which to evaluate other animal cloning experiments going forward. Secondly, her cloning was the start of controversy and panic in regards to animal cloning, as it raised the question of whether scientists would seek to clone humans too, and the ethics behind such a practice, should it ever be adopted. Over the past few years, animal cloning has yielded remarkable results, and this has given scientists hope of a possible human clone over the next few years (University of Utah Health Sciences n.p.). When such reports of cloning success appear in the media, only few attempts works. However, for every success story, there are many other cloning experiments that have dismally failed. Out of 100 cloning experiments, less than three, at the maximum, yield viable offsprings (Harper n.p.). Even for these few success stories about cloning, problems often emerge later, as the animal develops towards adulthood. Although there is limited scientific explanations for the cause of such high failure rates, most researchers believe that it is an indication of the technical hurdles facing cloning experiments. The important lesson that can be drawn from the cloning of animals is the likely influences in case humans are cloned. While a growing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Are Data Algorithms And Algorithms Can Be Been Solving... Traditional statisticians have been solving data problems for years. Example, when faced with the large data problem statisticians had a simple and proven technique to solve the problem by sampling the records. This is a sound methodology as the statisticians could prove statistically that a representative or random sample could speak for the whole population. The only problem was that when stakeholders wanted to drill down into the details they inevitably had to query the whole file. The reality is that data scientists run various data mining techniques and various algorithms that can accommodate both large and small files. However, companies may want to consider examining and cleansing the data they collect before running their analyses. This brings up the question of whether or not big data methods and algorithms can be considered reliable. Data quality is still a challenge even in the world of big data. The reality is that he world of big data is somewhat messy. Given data is collected so fast and is usually unprocessed (raw) it may be incomplete versus most traditional transactional data. Data may be missing many values or may contain incomplete records. Customer profiles may even be incomplete. It affects every race and ethnic group but studies have shown it is typically shown more in males. Autism indicates a group of complicated neurodevelopment disorders depicted by repetitive and characteristic patterns of behavior and struggles with social communication and interaction. This word is derived from a combination of a Greek word genos ( race or tribe ) and a Latin word cide ( killing ). In 1994, in the beginning of April, the same has happened in Rwanda. A genocide. Before the colonial period in Rwanda, there were three classifications of people. Hutus, who made up the majority of the population 84%, Tutsi who were only 17% and Twa who only made up 1%. Hutus were from less privileged families and were cultivators, Tutsis were cattle herders and from rich families, and Twa were potters and were outshined by the other groups (Stapleton 28). However, these classifications were based on the number of cattle people owned. People who owned 10 cows or more were considered Tutsi and people with less than 10 cows were considered Hutu. People could shift from being a Hutu to a Tutsi or vice versa depending on the number of cattle they had. Before colonization Tutsis and Hutus lived peacefully (Warren 19). During the colonial period tensions from all corners, politically, educationally and socially were created such that hatred and violence was harbored in Hutus and they decided to eliminate fellow Rwandese, Tutsis. The existence of ethnicities itself did not lead to the Tutsi Genocide since they existed even before the colonial era. The room was set up to cultivate open and creative thinking in order to inspire design. Due to the interactive nature of the studio classroom, both professors and students frequently use the white board when teaching or explaining class concepts. When selecting my project 2 product, I connected my experiences with the uses of the classroom whiteboard and thought of a Whiteboard Squeegee . This issue is brought to light from Donald Norman s different perspective, for people themselves are often unaware of their true needs, even unaware of the difficulties they are encountering (Norman 9). I have been using whiteboard erasers for my entire academic career and have always subconsciously noted the fact that using them, especially on a large board, comes with its issues. They can be tiring and difficult to reach and clean the entire board, due to the small handheld eraser that has been adopted and remained relatively unchanged. The whiteboard eraser in the studio classroom seems to have been overlooked by the user group perhaps for multiple reasons, which adds strength to my cause as a designer. The ability to design for a group of individuals who thoroughly appreciate innovation allows for my project to have a strong potential impact. Initially, I assumed that my user group would contain but not be limited to people who interact in a classroom. The fault in this thinking comes into play when defining the unique characteristics of the user group. A generic classroom doesn t necessarily need a larger ergonomic whiteboard eraser because it doesn t hold much value to them outside of its function as an eraser. My target user group is in constant need of products and scenery that enhance the classrooms design identity. Though a white board eraser may seem insignificant, it could inspire the design of ... • 22. Corruption Of The Clergy In The Canterbury Tales By... Geoffrey Chaucer is often referred to as the father of English literature. Chaucer s work, The Canterbury Tales, was the first major literary work done in the English. Chaucer expresses his feelings on the corruption of the church clergy in the General Prologue through the characters such as the Pardoner, the Prioress, and the Friar. These characters express many of the different misgivings of the clergy in that period. The Pardoner is described to be quite the physically unattractive man, but that is just the start. He is even uglier on the inside than he is on the outside. The Pardoner scams hard working people out of their money by selling false relics. He advertises pig s bones as the remains of saints, he uses a pillowcase as the veil of Mary and a sheet as the sail of Peter. The Pardoner tells the pilgrims that he is only preaching to make money, not for the love of god. Chaucer s Pardoner character is supposed to represent the greed and dishonesty within the clergy. The Pardoner is a man of greed like much of the clergy in Chaucer s time. Chaucer feels like the clergy has money on their mind more than they have God and the flock on their mind. ... • 31. The Privacy Of The Patriot Act Privacy The misuse of our personal information collected by private and public institutions has made privacy, or the lack of it, a major societal concern today. One of the biggest reasons privacy has become such an issue is the enactment of the Patriot Act , signed into law in reaction to the attacks on 9/11/2001. This act broadened the ability for the US government to collect surveillance on people in order to protect against terrorism inside the US. Critiques say it violates our civil liberties and undermines our democracy. One example of this is the collection and storage of phone data by the government under the Patriot Act. Is this an invasion of privacy? In order to keep society safe, a certain amount of private information has to be known by Law Enforcement. In order to collect taxes and for society to function, the government also needs some information. Collecting basic information isn t an invasion of privacy, but the collection phone data is too intrusive. Can the public trust the government to not miss use or lose the information they have on them? The government and major companies have frequently leaked and misused the public s information.
