Damned Thing have an invisible being at the center of the story. In The Horla, the
being is very humanistic. The narrator notes the Horla drinks water, and picks
flowers, and the narrator believes the Horla reads, just as he does. [His] armchair
was empty, appeared empty, but [he] knew that [the Horla] was there, He, and
sitting in [his] place, and that He was reading... But before [he] could reach it, [his]

An Investigation into Response to Disaster Using Qualitative Methods
Abstract
This study investigated the accounts of individuals involved in the London
underground bombings in 2005. Throughout this investigation, thematic analysis was
conducted on six eyewitness accounts, highlighting their feelings and actions, which
came about as a result of the incident. From these accounts I obtained 4 key themes,
which were consistent components of the six accounts. Evidently, I found that the
two most common themes were helping behaviour and the panic myth. This was
rather unexpected, as initially, I expected to find irrational and helpless behaviour,
due to the panic and stress of being trapped in a bombed underground. To conclude,
the investigation illuminated the concept of helping others before helping ones self.
Thus, contradicting the concept of survival of the fittest, as in this case the fittest
were those who took it upon themselves to assist other passengers in need. Therefore,
highlighting the power of empathy which was risen with experiencing the disaster.

The film The Englishman s boy is a screen adaptation of Guy Vanderhaeghe s book
of the same name. Vanderhaeghe also wrote the screenplay for the film. The book
was based on the true story of the Cypress Hills massacre in 1873. I will provide a
summary of the film s most important plot points, characters and background
information. The movie covers the horrors that were witnessed in Cypress Hills and
shows the inhumane way Native Americans have been treated since colonization, in
1873 and through to the 1920s. The movie explains how white men were hearkened
as heroes for committing these atrocities which were largely excused because society
at that time viewed natives as inhuman and therefore undeserving of human rights.
The filmwas set with a background in both 1873 pioneer plains and 1920s
Hollywood. This method was used to show a dualism within the two eras and that
negative attitudes towards Native Americans had not been corrected as they should

In the North Carolinian piedmont, there are several different forest communities. The
main types are, loblolly/ slash pine forest, mesic forest, oak forest, and floodplain
forest (NC Wildlife 2015). Soil types, elevation, climate, and nutrient availability are
important components of determining forest types. There are also certain species,
considered indicators that help predict the type of forestcommunity. The change in
environmental factors and species distribution allow for different forest types
(Cortes, Islebe 2005). Measuring the environmental factors of a plot and identifying
