Essays On Sustainability
Crafting an essay on the subject of sustainability can prove to be a formidable task, demanding a
nuanced understanding of the multifaceted nature of the topic. Sustainability, being a broad and
interdisciplinary concept, requires a comprehensive exploration of environmental, social, and
economic dimensions. The complexity arises from the interconnectedness of these facets,
demanding a delicate balance between the preservation of natural resources, social equity, and
economic viability.
Researching and gathering credible information is another challenge. Sustainability is a rapidly
evolving field, with new research, policies, and innovations constantly emerging. Staying current
with the latest developments in environmental science, social justice, and economic theories is
essential to provide a well-informed perspective in the essay.
Moreover, the essay should not merely summarize information but delve into critical analysis and
synthesis of ideas. It necessitates the ability to connect seemingly disparate concepts and present
a cohesive argument that addresses the intricacies of sustainability. Tackling issues such as
climate change, resource depletion, and social inequality requires a depth of understanding that
goes beyond surface-level examination.
Additionally, the writer must grapple with the ethical dimensions of sustainability. Crafting a
thoughtful and persuasive argument involves not only presenting facts but also navigating the
ethical considerations inherent in discussions about resource use, environmental impact, and
social justice.
Furthermore, articulating a compelling thesis and organizing the essay's structure to convey ideas
coherently adds another layer of complexity. Striking a balance between an engaging
introduction, a well-supported body, and a impactful conclusion is crucial for an effective essay.
In conclusion, writing an essay on sustainability is challenging due to the interdisciplinary nature
of the topic, the need for up-to-date information, the demand for critical analysis, the ethical
considerations involved, and the necessity for effective organization and presentation. It is a task
that requires dedication, research skills, critical thinking, and a genuine commitment to
understanding and addressing the complexities of sustainable practices.

The Imperial Republic
The Imperial Republic
Why did the U.S. Pursue Imperialism The US begun to close the frontier which
increased fears that the resources the country had were dwindling. This fear of
dwindling resources would push the US to find resources abroad. The US had
also had a taste of power when it subjugated the Indian tribes and had grown used
to exerting colonial control over dependent people. The 1893 depression drove
businessmen to look overseas for new markets. There was also a surge in
efficiency that created many new products that needed to be sold in these new
overseas markets. The idea of Social Darwinism again played a role in the US pursue
of imperialism, the idea was that the weaker races of the world needed to be

X. Seizing the Philippines
Secretary of the Navy Theodore Roosevelt wanted to strengthen the Pacific fleet so
he ordered George Dewey to attack the Spanish forces in the Spanish colony, the
Philippines. The war that had started as a way of freeing Cuba had turned into a war
to take away all of Spain s colonies.
XI. Battle of San Juan Hill
Santiago Harbor was a deep water harbor that gave the Spanish control of Santiago
City and of the harbor. This meant that the Spanish would not give up the hill.
Theodore Roosevelt orders the assault of Kettle Hill which he took lead in the battle
and took the hill quickly. He leads the charge to take San Juan Hill, he was proud
and too bold but he won the hill.

Ruth Asawa s Influence On Art
Ruth Asawa s, Untitled (S.114, Hanging, Six Lobed Continuous Form within a
Form with One Suspended and Two Tied Spheres), ca. 1958, is displayed at The
Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco. Asawa s work follows the methodology
of structuralism, which implies that artists use elements of human culture in
relationships to a larger, overarching system or structure. Asawa is also influenced
by abstract expressionism by incorporating it into her art by allowing nature to
create her forms. Asawa s specific background, technique, and material allows her to
create beautiful sculptures that manipulate form and space, while also sharing
similar characteristics as artists we have studied in class. Ruth Asawa was born in
Norwalk, California in 1926. Her parents were immigrants from Japan. During
World War ll In 1942, when Asawa was only 16 years old, she was split from her
family and put into a Japanese American internment camp. After high school, Asawa

Joseph Campbell s The Metal Bound Casket
The Metal Bound Casket exhibits the social, psychological and mythical functions
necessary to influence the way that we live today. The myth uses the social purpose
to oppress many of the natural instincts of mankind and establish a moral order. The
myth antagonizes the brothers of the Duke of Chow. This can be seen when in their
non resolute concern for the King s health and their attempt to humiliate the Duke of
Chow by spreading false rumours. This establishes the moral of loyalty and truth.
This affects the lives of people that read the myth because it forces them to accept
that the ideas of truth and loyalty. The myth also influences a person s life using the
psychological function. As described by Joseph Campbell, myths often show readers
Skeletal Muscle Cells
Structure of Skeletal Muscle: (4)
Skeletal muscle cells (single cell with many nuclei) are cells that are often under
voluntary control. Skeletal muscle cells are attached to bones of the body and assist
in bone movement. Attached to the bone via tendons (strong bands of connective
tissue) is the belly of the muscle which alternates in thickness. Connective tissue also
creates a sheath, binding together groups of muscle cells. Every skeletal muscle cell is
arranged length ways adjacent to one another comprised of a multitude of myofibrils.
Surrounding each skeletal muscle cell is the sarcolemma with contains sarcoplasm. A
sarcomere has two recognisably different bands, one light, one dark. The I band is

Granville Island Public Market In Toronto
In our everyday life, we drink, we think, we study, and we eat, do not know since

restaurant in greater Vancouver area, or best street food in Taipei; every time I
open an app, I started to think when and where can I try them. After joining this
class, Food Matters, I started to think that where do these foods come from, what are
they made of, and how do they connect to my life. Thanks for Professor Stahlbrand,

John Steinbeck John Steinbeck, the author of 26 novels, was one of the most prolific
and popular American writers of the twentieth century. Steinbeck was the first and
only western American novelist to both win the Nobel Prize and top the bestseller
list. The peak of his career came with the publication of his masterpiece, The
Grapes of Wrath (1939). The novel won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book
Award and also generated controversy over its portrayal of California s sometimes
merciless agricultural world, as well as its so called vulgar language and socialist
bias. A novel that encouraged the ideas of realism and called for social protest, The

displaying Arthurian parallels and influences; the work that occupied much of his
time in the last years of his life was a translation or redaction of the Arthurian stories,
unfinished at his death. Steinbeck also showed signs of Realism, a prominent
literary movement of the late 19th century. This movement is closely tied to Charles
Darwin, author of The Origin of Species, and backer of the theory of evolution. This
theory caused Steinbeck as well as other realist, to disregard the highly symbolic,

Nursing And Electronic Medical Records
Nursing and Electronic Medical Records Thomas Stinde April 28, 2016 Coconino
Community College Nursing and Electronic Medical Records In our society today,
we have a broad range of computer technology for our use. This technology in the
nursing field is called informatics. Informatics is defined as a combination of
computer science, information science, and nursing science designed to assist in
the management and processing of nursing data, information, and the knowledge
to support the practice of nursing and the delivery of nursing care (Thede, 1).
Nearly anywhere we go, and whatever career we choose we all need to have basic
computer skills. Computers are used in the health care profession due to an
increase of productivity they can provide, therefore allowing for better patient
care. Computers also allow for hospitals, doctor s offices, and other healthcare
facilities to change over to and begin keeping electronic medical records (EMR).
An EMR has the medical information that the doctors and nurses obtain when you
have an office visit. The patient s paper medical record is put into an EMR program
is basically made into a digital version of that patient s medical information. The
patient s healthcare provider can then use these EMRs for diagnoses and treatment.
There can be advantages and disadvantages for healthcare providers to transition to
an EMR system, and those providers will have to decide which one will outweigh the
other. Discussion An
Economic System And Economic Systems
For this essay I will be focusing in on the three different economic system, which are
known as centrally planned economy, mixed economy, and market economy. I will
also be explaining why internationalizing firms should be aware of the differences
between all three economic systems and what roles should the government be taking
in the free market systems. Before I begin defining the different economic systemsI
would like to first explain what an economic systemis. Every country differs in what
economic system is being used. An economic system is a system of producing
goods and the exchange of goods and services. An economic systems also includes
a process which is used to allocate its assets. Culture can have a big impact because
of a country s economy. Just as a country s economy state differs from country to
country so does its culture. Why does it have an effect on a country s culture we
ask? The difference between having an individualist or a collectivist culture is where
we see it. In an individualist culture we see more people being rewarded then we see
in a collectivist culture. Being rewarded with things such as low tax rates which
inspires them to continue with their activities of their culture.
As mentioned in Chapter 7 no nation is either considered to be fully individualist or
fully collectivist. National economies are arranged on a scale in which we see the
three different economic systems. The scale is setup in a way in which centrally
planned economy is

The American Dream In Jeannette Walls s The Glass Castle
Comedian George Carlin once stated, That s why they call it the American Dream,
because you have to be asleep to believe it. Financial security, freedom to live how
one chooses, retiring at 65 and living comfortably in old age, owning a home,
knowing that working hard pays off: these are all fundamental beliefs tied to the
American Dream. As newer generations are increasingly finding the dream to be
unrealistic, people are beginning to abandon the concept; however it is still a very
present ideology. While many believe the American Dream is a lively goal that
everyone strives to achieve, it is actually a dying illusion that is unattainable for all
but the wealthiest and used to propagate a classist society, causing a cycle of
ignorance... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of the American dream is not to promise success as a reward for hard
work; conversely, it is the idea that individuals should be able to achieve success
despite their socioeconomic status. This belief is intended to inspire and create
equality. Although the American Dream sounds optimistic in concept, it further
propagates inequality in practice.
The American Dream is not a function of ability and achievement, but a dying
illusion. America is not truly the land of the free, but an ignorant classist society.
Gregory Clark, an economics professor at the University of California, Davis, stated
that America has no higher rate of social mobility than medieval England or pre
industrial Sweden ... That s the most difficult part of talking about social mobility it s
shattering people s dreams (qtd. in Evans). The United States has an incredibly
outdated economic system that does not allow disadvantaged citizens opportunities
regardless of how hard they work. People get stuck in their social status and are not
able to stray out of it, which affects their further generations. Additionally, immigrants
coming to America in hopes of prosperity are likely to have even less luck than
immigrants of the pass and widen the gap of social inequality. Clark continues to
state, The truth is that the American Dream was always an illusion. Blindly pursuing

The Elder Scrolls series are some of the best game series of all time in my opinion,
and that includes the soundtracks as well. I have enjoyed the Elder Scrolls for a

Characteristics Of The Caribbean Civilizations
Dating back to approximately 4000 BC there was evidence that there were persons
living in the Caribbean in islands such as Trinidad, Antigua, Hispaniola and Cuba.
There were many indigenous people inhabiting the lands of the Caribbean however
they all weren t considered civilizations as they did not display all the
characteristics of a civilization such as the group informally called Ciboneys.
According to Merriam Webster s dictionary a civilization a relatively high level of
cultural and technological development; specifically: the stage of cultural
development at which writing and the keeping of written records is attained or the
culture characteristic of a particular time or place. For a group to be considered a
civilization they must have a religion, written language, technology, art and
architecture, politics, social stratification and job specification. Hence out of all the
inhibitors there were only two civilizations within the Caribbean before the arrival of
the Europeans. Coming from the Orinoco region Amerindians arrived to Trinidad as

Survival Of The Sickest Book Report
Dr. Sharon Moalem, the author of Survival of the Sickest, provides a fascinating
glimpse into the idea that modern human diseases that afflict us actually have a
significant role in the selection and the existence of our ancestors. Before reading
this book, I was used to thinking of diseases as disorders that adversely affect a
person. While this may be the case for most individuals, Moalem explained in his
book that that there s an underlying connection between various diseases and
longevity of a species. He explained how these diseases helped fight against more life
threatening situations such as the Bubonic Plague, malaria, and the ice age. Most
importantly, I learned that evolution did not necessarily favor adaptations that make
us better, but those that help us survive, even if these adaptations would kill us in the
long run.

Otherwise known as G6PD deficiency, people with an extreme case of this illness
would experience hemolytic anemia, fever, and fatigue after eating fava beans or
take drugs like primaquine. This is due to the fact that people with favism lack
sufficient amount of the enzyme G6PD, which is important for protecting cells from
chemical elements that would otherwise destroy the cells. The substances mentioned
above act as the catalysts for the production of free radicals (un paired electrons). As
these un paired electrons seek to pair with electrons in red blood cells with deficient
amount of G6PD, it causes the cell membranes to burst. The loss of red blood cells
when left untreated can cause the person to have kidney failure, heart failure, and
death. As of now, there is no treatment for G6PG
A Brief Note On The Aviation Safety Agency
With ICAO s leading, aviation safety has been developed internationally. As
mentioned before, FAA and ICAO worked together to provide safer operations in
the airports globally. ICAO published their Safety Management Manual(SMM) for
providing acceptable safety performance throughout the world. Civil aviation
authorities get benefit out of these manuals and shared data. SMS requirements
provided by ICAO paved a path for every aviation organization to develop safety
policies and safety procedures. In February 2009 European Aviation Safety
Agency(EASA) met with FAA, ICAO and Transport Canada Civil
Aviation(TCCA). The meeting was set to spread SMS throughout Europe and
America. Participants agreed on sharing SMS knowledge and established Safety
Management International Collaboration Group(SM ICG). SM ICG was set to

Kant and Locke on Freedom The concept of freedom has long been a popular tenet
for philosophers to explore. From ancient Greek origins to the present day, many
individuals have discussed the importance of freedom and the role it plays within
society in an effort to define its relationship to the human condition. Two philosophers
that have studied freedom in depth are John Locke and Immanuel Kant. Both
philosophers viewed freedom as playing a major role in society; however, they
conceptualized it in different ways, particularly in relation to its role with the nation.
Perhaps the most notable aspect of these stances is Kant s definition of the
relationship between freedom, reason, and morality.
Locke s Conception of Freedom Locke s main discussions of freedom took place in
his work entitled Two Treatises on Government. These views were built upon the
view of a natural state in which every individual maintained a state of natural
freedom. In this natural state, each individual was free to make decisions and choose
actions without any constraints. Locke felt that under this view every individual
should maintain equal and independent and refrain from harming one another.
However, the main problem in this concept of freedom is that fact that an individual
s free will can be constrained by the actions of another. Based upon this reality, Locke
generated the view of the social contract. In this sense, individuals must give up a
Spirometer Research Papers
Abstract This paper presents a new approach towards the development of a
spirometer on chip device for point of care (PoC) diagnostics. The proposed device
consists of a cantilever based airflow sensor fabricated through a Multi User MEMS
process (MUMPS). The deflection of each cantilever beam is measured using
capacitive electrodes integrated on a single semiconductor chip. These electrodes are
connected to an off chip custom made readout interface circuit for the measurement
of minute capacitive changes and for the acquisition of data into a computer. Herein,
we discuss and demonstrate the characterization results of such a system using a low
complexity air based technique. Additionally, we demonstrate the applicability of
these devices... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fundamentally, this ushers the opportunity to realize a single chip capable of
replacing an entire diagnostic system present in contemporary clinical laboratories
or hospitals. Among various clinical applications, the focus of this paper is placed
on the development of a novel spirometer for lung disease sensing purposes. Lung
diseases such as Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary (COP) disease affect
the airways and cause inabilities to exhale normally. A spirometer is the most
reliable tool for lung disease and with 100 million sufferers approximated
worldwide [9] has the potential to improve care for significant numbers.
Commercially available spirometers for measuring complicated lung functions are
bulky, expensive and not suitable for PoC lung disease monitoring. Also the
available spirometers in the market require disposable parts. Indeed the development
of a mobile free breathing easy to use spirometer for frequent (e.g. daily)
measurement of lung status is the key challenge to diagnosis and control of the
disease in its early stages. To date many papers have reported the design and
implementation of micro sensors for airflow or air velocity measurement using
micromachining techniques [10 11]. Among these, Chen et al. reported the design
and implementation of an array of hot wires
Courage In The Glass Castle By Jeannette Walls
As human beings, we live by our morals, outlining our ethical principles in
distinguishing what is right from what is wrong. Our morals define who we are as a
person, how we behave, how we communicate, and how we manage challenging
situations. As stated by President John F. Kennedy, a man does what he must in spite
of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures and that is
the basis of all human morality(225). In order to achieve and portray one s morals
and ethical principles regardless of the circumstances, a person must portray courage.
As Ernest Hemingway defined it, Grace under pressure (Kennedy 1). According to
the Merriam Webster dictionary, courage is the mental or moral strength to venture,
persevere, and withstand danger, fear or difficulty. In the Pulitzer Prizewinning book
Profiles in Courage, written on 1957 by John F. Kennedy, some of the greatest deeds
of political courage in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries are discussed through
the accounts of the historical events that inspired such acts and the consequences of
those brave enough to carry them out. The author of the award winning memoir The
Glass Castle, Jeannette Walls, could not be considered a candidate for John F.
Kennedy s Profile in Courage Award because of the failure to fulfill of the
requirements of the award, the type of courage portrayed, and the limited sphere of
influence.
Since 1989, the Profile in Courage Award has been presented yearly by
Individualism And Humanism In The Renaissance
Jack Woodward
AP Euro/ Period 1
9 1/17
1: One broad theme of this chapter is how individualism and humanism, and shaped
the Renaissance. These beliefs changed and shaped the renaissance because they
supported the idea of allowing individuals to choose their faith in religion and their
jobs. For example, the time of humanism and individualism during the renaissance
inspired others such as Plato to teach the best way to define something and
Baldassare Castiglione to write the courtier. It also taught people the importance of
being independent. Before humanism and individualism people believed their
lives were predetermined and it was only working and fighting, because they were
told their life was predetermined and their beliefs were in their blood. People who
believed in humanism focused more on themselves than their previous beliefs in
god. This still is relevant today because people choose their own jobs and religious
beliefs as well as not having to praise one god.
2: The Renaissance began around the 1350 s because humanism had paved a way to
art and the study of Greek and Roman literature, in Italy. During the middle ages
people believed life was predetermined and they were in no control of their choices.
Then suddenly people started to appreciate the writings and works of Greek and
Roman literature because humanists shared their ideas of freedom through art and
literature. The public soon realized that Greeks and Romans had lived differently in
the past. They saw
New Public Management and Decision Making in UK
Public...
Discuss how the tendency of New Public Management has impacted on decision
making in UK public policy.
New Public Management is generally used to describe a management culture that
emphasises upon the citizen or customer as being central, as well as having
accountability for results. It also suggests organizational structures and promotes
decentralized control, many different types of service delivery mechanisms, including
quasi markets with public and private service providers competing for resources. New
Public Management does not suggest that a government should stop performing
certain tasks. Although the New Public

The crisis of the welfare state led to questions about the role and institutional
character of the state. In the case of some countries, reforms in public administration
and management have been driven more by external pressures and have taken place
in the context of structural adjustment programmes. Other drivers of New Public
Management type reforms include the ascendancy of neo liberal ideas from the late
1970s, the development of information technology, and the growth and use of
international management consultants as advisors on reforms[4].
Historically, it has been convenient for a decision maker to distinguish between the
public and private sectors. Operational objectives of managers within the private
sector have always been considered as geared towards maintaining a position within
the marketplace, thinking competitively and are more willing to innovate.
Whereas the public sector manager would be more concerned with

Essay On Missed Appointment System
The recall system is to minimize missed appointments in the practice as missed
appointments result in unproductive time and an increase workload so patients
often need a reminder to trigger the appointment for them. For the recall system to
be effective one staff member needs to monitor and enter correct data. A patient s
permission needs to be sought before contacting them for a recall appointment or
be given to them on there final visit and issue an appointment card. Recording
recall dates on patients record with either a paper based which consists of file index
cards that need to be maintained monthly this method is less effective with more
labor involved. Or an electronic system where the practice will have a procedure in

Arctic National Wildlife Refuge Research Paper
The ANWR or Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is a refuge specially designed for
wilderness purposes. This refuge is located in the northeast corner of Alaska, and is
home to a rich diversity of over 250 species of wildlife. For a better description, this
refuge has been named spiritual, recreational, historical, and cultural. However, not
all would agree that the arctic refuge is a rather safe place.
In 1966, many Alaska Natives protested due to the ANWR being threatened by dirty
oil and gas development. Since then, many laws and acts have been passed and
signed so that the ANWR would be kept safe. For example, in 1960 President
Eisenhower established the Arctic National Wildlife Range to preserve wilderness,
wildlife, and recreation. Also in 1980, President Carter signed the Alaska Interest
Lands Conservation Act. This act expanded the Arctic Refuge s size, along with
changing its name and some other features. As a result of these actions, the thought

As stated in the first paragraph, this refuge was designed purposely for wildlife.
The oil industry continues to launch attacks to open this national treasure to
destructive oil drilling. However, there is a large amount of people and protesters
that are willing to do anything to protect this remarkable place that some call home.
If these oil companies drill this land, hundreds of habitats would be lost. Even the
simplest things such as seismic testing, aircraft and vehicle noise, or even the
presence of humans nearby can drive mother polar bears away from their den and
cubs. The critical breeding grounds for migratory birds would be severely impacted
and the same for others. The simple action of even having humans at this location
could destroy a whole species. Although, habitat loss is not the only reason why this
majestic place should not be a drilling
Hearing Aid Process
The hearing aid fitting process of PEI begins by running a full audiometric test
battery on the patient. They begin with tympanometry, and then follow up with pure
tones, speech and bone testing. If need be, they continue with any special testing that
may be deemed necessary following the results of the audiometric testing. If a patient
seems like a good hearing aidcandidate you can perform QuickSin, which is used to
determine how the patient would understand speech in noisy situations. LDLs may
also be done to obtain the patient s loudness discomfort level, which ensures that
their hearing add is not fit to be louder than what is comfortable for the patient. After
the test results are obtained and explained to the patient, their expectations of a
hearing aid are determined. This can be achieved via the APHAB, COSI and ECHO,
which are commonly used at PEI. These tests are also used to determine what type of
listening environments the patients are in, their motivation for wearing hearing aids
and the areas in which they are having problems hearing. After this is done the
audiologist determines what type of hearing aid would be best the patient, using the
previously listed questionnaires and test results as well as the patient s dexterity,
vision and cosmetic needs. After the hearing aid is... Show more content on

It is proven that using QuickSin for speech in noise testing will help determine if the
patient would benefit from directional mics vs. omnidirectional mics and other
features in their hearing aid to better their speech discrimination in noise. Other
procedures done in PEI, such as Verafit and LDLs, are also confirmed by evidence
based practice. What this means is that these tests were researched and proven to be
best practice when fitting hearing aids. These test are recognized to be essential to the
hearing aid fitting and the success of the

The donation of mitochondrial is extremely important because 1 in 200 children in
the UK are born with the condition that can lead to disability and death and there is
no cure currently (Mitochondrial donation, 2014).
In the UK there is a shortage of donated gametes even though gamete donation is in
demand (Murray et al,2000) especially within the ethnic minority groups (Purewal et
al, 2005). More often gamete donation is more common within the men population
than it is for the women. This may be down to the simple fact that the technology and
methods for gamete donation for women are more intrusive and lengthy in
comparison to that of a man s. Some oocyte donor express positive attributions about
their donation experience (Jordan et al,2004) whilst others attribute some negative
perceptions mainly about the techniques used and that were involved (Jordan et
al,2004).
Using assisted reproductive technology has an emotional effect on the surrogate, it
could cause emotional distress on the surrogate when it comes to handing the baby

bond between the surrogate and the foetus during her pregnancy, pregnant women

surrogate to have a natural maternal instinct. (FazliKhalaf et al , 2008)
The Threat of Global Warming May Lead to Global Cooling

Over the last few years almost everyone has heard that the earth is warming. Also,
almost everyone has heard the pleas to go green and reduce carbon emissions, led
by former Vice President Al Gore. Even though there is not a truly accurate
definition of global warming it can be roughly defined as a rise in average global
temperature according to Laurence Pringle s book Global WarmingAssessing the
Greenhouse Threat (19). Global Warming Assessing the Greenhouse Threat also

Picture this, some years from now winters will be exceptionally harsh in the
Northern Hemisphere. Crops that were grown in the northern United States,
southern Canada, and the northern countries in Europe are unable to grow any
more. Also, glaciers that had been receding in the warm period of the late 1990s
and throughout the 2000s grow and push in to areas that had become habitable
during the warm period. If one thinks this is fiction, it has happened before. The
last time that a little ice age occurred it began around 1350 and lasted until the late
19th century. Also, this little ice age was preceded by a warm period with similar
temperature patterns as today s warming trends. Most of this data has been gathered
from sediment samples from Bermuda and ice core samples from Greenland ( Earth s

During the Medieval time from the years 700 to 1300 there was very warm time in
the history of the world. This time is referred to as the Medieval Warm Period or
the Medieval Climatic Optimum ( Earth s Climate History ). This period is believed
to have peaked around the year 1100. The climate was considerably warmer and
milder than it was before this time period. With this climate change food was able to
be grown in many areas where they were previously not grown. Some examples of
this are grapes being grown in southern England, and cereal crops successfully being

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to discuss necrotizing fasciitis and discuss its treatments
as well as practices that are currently being tested. This paper will also mention how
to prevent necrotizing fasciitis. Necrotizing fasciitis is a flesh eating disease that
attacks the subcutaneous layer of flesh. It is most common in patients with lowered
immune systems as well as preexisting chronic diseases. Treatments include prompt
surgery and debridement as well as the experiment hyperbaric oxygen treatment.
Necrotizing Fasciitis Treatment Current Event Paper
Necrotizing fasciitis is still a very real and very big problem even in 2016. It is a
rapidly progressive inflammatory infection of the fascia, with secondary necrosis of
the subcutaneous tissues (Edlich 2016). It commonly occurs as a complication from
surgery or an existing medical condition. The three most important bacteria to cause
necrotizing fasciitis are polymicrobial, group A streptococcal, and clostridial
myonecrosis. Cases of necrotizing fasciitis have been increasing in recent years due
to so much of the population being immunocompromised due to diseases or special
issues. These include but are not limited to diabetes mellitus, cancer, alcoholism,
vascular insufficiencies, organ transplants, HIV infection, or neutropenia (Edlich
2016). The most common age of patients is between 38 44 years with it rarely
Description about the Sensors in the Network

This section gives the description about the sensors, respective public and private
key pair model and event generation in the network. This is followed by the threat
model of the network and the kind of adversaries which pose threat to the network.
The design goals of the proposed scheme are also listed.

We consider the sensors S={S1,S2, S3, .....Sx} are deployed where x is the
population of the deployed sensors. Nodes are assumed to be deployed in uniform
random distribution. Prior to deployment, each sensor is assumed to be loaded
with a public /private keypair (pi; si), for i = 1; 2; 3; 4;.....x. Among the public key
cryptosystems available, we assume to used ID based public key cryptography.
The event generation in the network, is considered to be random. Event is sensed by
the neighboring sensor nodes where the event has occurred. These neighboring nodes
will try to report the event occurred to the sink or base station through anonymous
authentication, maintaining the privacy of the event as well as privacy of the nodes
in terms of location and identity. So the neighboring nodes of the occurred event
will form a ring signature groups addressing other selective nodes in the network.
The size of the rings will depend on the number of neighboring nodes when the event
has occurred. The payload of the messages will depend on the number of nodes in the
anonymity set of

Brutus made good decision. He joined the conspiracy in fears that Caesar powerful.
Brutus was also convinced to reading a letter warning him that Caesar was too
ambitious. He is a powerful leader because he always made sure all of the citizens
were safe and no one was being harmed by any violence. I like Brutus because he
always told the truth and was very honorable about himself. Caesar refers to
himself as a better as a king. He is also arrogant towards others. Brutus, on the other
hand, is very courteous and kinder to others. Caesar would not be a good leader
because he would just be strict and intend to just boss people around. Caesar would

All was quiet within in the Forest of Forever Winter, the snow descended from the

Treading through the snow filled path was a shrouded figure wearing black and
blue garments beneath a slightly tattered navy blue cloak with black inner lining,
billowing in the breeze. The lower half of his face was obscured by a black mask and
his eyes hidden beneath the hood. Strapped across his back is a DaitЕЌ with a lock

The figure treaded through the snow filled path until the sound of a snapping twig

1984 The Ministry Of Truth Analysis
That which is true or in accordance with fact or reality is the Oxford dictionary
definition of the word truth. The Ministry of Truth s purpose is to change history in
order for the Party to benefit from the facts for propaganda, therefore the department
is responsible for the decrease in historic events. Although some would believe that
the most central paradox in Orwell s 1984 is the Ministry of Plenty, it is clearly the
Ministry of Truth, as evidenced by the amount of control that this department gives
the Party.
The Ministry of Truth is clearly the most crucial paradox. The department changes
facts from history, while in reality, the department isn t telling the truth since they
are deleting events from the past in order to look perfect to the public. For
example, Orwell describes, All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and
reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary (Orwell 40). This is crucial because the
citizens are being lied to in order to protect the reputation of the Party. The citizens
won t know the truth about their own life, which will negatively affect them since the
Party gains power if they are manipulating their own citizens about the truth of
history. This emphasizes that the Ministry of Truth... Show more content on

For example, Orwell explains, It was therefore necessary to rewrite a paragraph of
Big Brother s speech in such a way as to make him predict the thing that had
actually happened (Orwell 38). This is a key factor in the book because the
civilians aren t learning the correct facts, at the correct time. The civilians are easier
to manipulate if the Party makes the Ministry of Truth delete their original
predictions because the civilians will begin to think that the Party is always right.
Therefore, they will be a lot more likely to do what the Party and propaganda say
since they believe that the Party is
Environmental Influences On Nature And Environment
Several psychologists have debated the issue of nature versus nurture for many
decades. Only to arrive at one reasonable conclusion: Both genes and the environment
are important in shaping a person s behavior. However, individuals are not spared
from these and are susceptible to environmental influences. Depending on how their
family is structured to how their culture is structured. Nearly every phase of an
individuals life teaches a lesson on how to adapt to the world. Parents purposely
choose to teach certain ethical views or ideas to their families. These ideas are a
crucial part of their heritage or history. Environmentcan affect morals, etiquette, and
quality of life.
The environment plays a key role in a person s morals. Morals are rules one must
abide by which include, a positive sense of self, self discipline, good decision
making skills, and prosocial connectedness. A negative upbringing can have a
consequence on these skills, such as domestic abuse in a household, this starts to
shape an individual, subsequently, this will determine what type of moral
development one will have. For example, a person exposed to domestic violence can
have problems with attachment. This lack of attachment to others interferes with
moral development. If an individual lacks attachment skills to others then they find it
difficult to learn love, respect, and trust for others. A person can grow to become
morally bankrupt as they live life with little regard for the values of those
The Views And Components Of Classical Liberalism
The views and components of classical liberalism are evident in every aspect of the
socioeconomic status and practices of the United States. The extent to which varies
considerably depending on which facet of the government one considers, but the
underlying principles on which the legislative and economic values base themselves
on directly conforms with classical liberalism. Although liberalism is a relatively new
ideology, most industrialized countries identify with the it s policies and agenda to
some degree. The major political parties in the United States differ on the political
spectrum, however, they both share values associated with liberalism thought. As
European countries, as well as the American Colonies, began the transitional process
from agrarian to industrialized societies, they became dependent on one another for
goods, thus introducing capitalistic and free market economies. Those classified as
proletarians, or working class citizens, noticed that they were slowly being
interchanged with machinery, while the upper classes profited by substantial
additions to their total wealth. With this prosperity, they began to invest in their
respective communities, constructing educational institutions; sparking an integration
between the working class and the classes above them (Lal 49). As machinery and the
possibility to gain an education became prevalent in industrialized countries, working
class citizens decided to homogenize with the new technology or educate

Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION
Capital market is now playing a strategic role in a country s economic growth. It
facilitates the exchange of funds between company as demander and investor as
supplier. The existence of capital market enables company to obtain an alternative
source of fund. On the other hands, it gives flexibility for investor to choose
investment based on their preference. For both company and investor who are
involved in the capital market, understanding about capital market condition becomes
matter in order to understand how the market is actually works. One aspect of capital
market conditions that might become consideration before deciding to invest is the
market efficiency. The term of market efficiency, which is found in the capital market
literature, is used to elaborate the relationship between the information and the share
price. In 1970, Fama proposed the Efficient Market Theory and defined capital
market efficiency as the market in which prices fully reflect all available information.

the present, anthropologists have learned how humans have evolved throughout time,
how they have adapted to their world, their own personal ways of living, as well as
how they communicated with one another. One of the ways anthropologists are

Archaeologists have to envision how life was once lived, thousands of years ago,
simply by studying paintings on a wall, or through the examination of human
remains. Not only do they have to imagine these things, they need to have proof
and evidence to back up their hypothesis. However, this task can be very difficult
to accomplish. Due to the fact that these artifacts are hundreds to thousands of
years old, they are likely to be very fragile. Making it difficult to collect all the
pieces of evidence needed to support their theory. The objects that are still intact,
however, are collected, cleaned, photographed, documented and analyzed for further
studies. While researching Catalhoyuk, I was intrigued with the idea of living in
the houses that they lived in. I wondered if they were dark, or cold. Apparently, a
group of archaeologists had the same thought, and were able to re create and build
one of the Catalhoyuk houses in a site near Mira Stevanovic, according to Ian Hodder

the children born there did not live with their biological parents, especially because
family seemed to have been very important in regards to the social order of the
household. My research has been very valuable for acknowledging the importance of
archaeology, and how it has extended our knowledge on the history of

until you move away. Again. And again. And again. Okay, you just never realize
how much you own when it s always boxed away. And then you go and buy even
more stuff. I m beginning to think I m a hoarder. On day five, my phone decided
to patch over my first incoming phone call of my new new new new new new new
newfound life. It was a simplistic gesture, but still very relieving. Maybe I was a
little less forgotten than I d always figured on. There s still a great chance that I am
comically wrong. I have a tendency of being comically wrong about lots of things.

Or know how to drive. Why didn t you tell me that in the first place? She sounded
about ready to explode. I gotta go! Bye! I quickly hung up the phone. Three hours
in which two 20 minute naps, a vigorous food eating session, and a minimal
cleaning binge took place passed by before Jordan showed up. It was fine by me
because I wasn t actually looking forward to Jordan s stay. For a while, I was half
hanging off my bed with my head and arms uncomfortably jumbled about on the
floor and the rest of me neatly resting... Well, on my bed. Jordan suddenly appeared
into my room, scaring me and causing the rest of me to fall into a jumbled pile next
to my bed. Well, isn t that adorable? Jordan made her way to my bed, sitting a
suitcase and two bags all around me and plopping herself in the spot I d been
laying only moments before. Well, hello to you, too, I said sarcastically,
scrambling to get to my feet. After a few minutes of fidgeting, I finally managed
and joined her on my bed. Seeing you like that... I can t help but wonder, how
many embarrassing things have you done so far? She cocked an eyebrow. I pushed
myself toward the wall. Well, nothing really... Unless, you consider spilling an entire
cup of soda all over some attractive guy while your seven year old cousin is making
horrifyingly obnoxious remarks embarrassing. I began recounting the entire
happening from only days before. Ooh... It sounds like a certain someone has a
Negative Effects Of Video Games In Schools
Poor school performance is another negative side effect of violent video games on
children. As Hughes, Emily states in her article, Developmental Psychology at
Vanderbilt, In America, 81% of youths play at least once a month, 8.5% of them
are addicted and the average 8 to 12 year old now plays 13 hours of video games
per week, while the average 13 to 18 year old plays 14 hours of video games per
week. This study confirms that because children are so busy with video games
they have no time and interest to focus on school activities and finally they fail the
class. The consequence is not only failing the class the consequence will be long
term. After failing the class children can lose the interest of continuing their
education and they can be depressed and lonely. Also, the more young people focus
and spend their time on trending violent video games, the culture of reading
books, participating in outdoor activities, and exploring new things will become
old fashion. In today s young generation reading books or participating in book
clubs are not that important and trending. Most of the time kids who always carry
books or who loves to talk about books and other club activities does not consider
as one of the cool kids. To begin with, in today s technology and information world
there are several things which can distract children from important things they
supposed to do for their bright future, and violent video games take the first place.

My Fall
Nice breeze with warm air. Through all of the seasons fall is my favorite. It s not
too hot or too cold, it is just right. Everyone can do lots of things, and we can enjoy
the nice weather. In the fall the weather is amazing. It is normally in the low 60s
and high 70s. I know it is not swimming weather, but it is still perfect. In that type
of weather you can have big bonfires with friends and bbq. I like to go mudding in
the fall, and it not be too hot or cold. It is also the best time to go side by side
riding. Just the other day me and my boyfriend were riding around for hours. Going
to creeks and running the telephone poles, just enjoying the nature. It is also the
perfect time to go camping. I don t think it hast to be summer to go
How Social Control Theory Affects Criminal Behavior
How Social Control Theory and Life Course Theory effect criminal behavior
Mason Campbell Barge 900259391 University of North Georgia Criminology 11
/17/14 How Social Control Theory and Life Course Theory effect criminal
behavior Social control theory and life course theory focus on people s lives and
how they interact with one another. The basic idea of the life course theory is that
people s life experiences, both good and bad, determine what kind of person that
they will be later in life. This does not mean that just because a person who had a
good childhood, lived in a wealthy home, and had good parents, will continue to
be a good person. The same can be said for people who had a bad childhood.
Children who got in fights and disrespected authority figures may not continue to
do that later on in life. A life course theorist would say this is because there are
turning points in these people s lives that they go through. These turning points
cause a person to change their current life course (Siegel, 2013, p. 305). For
example a teenage boy who, regularly attends school, stays active in his community,
and has good grades, decides to celebrate his success by smoking marijuana and
drinking alcohol with some friends. The police show up and arrest the young man
for drug possession and underage drinking. Now the young man has a criminal
record and waste some of his time in jail. He loses his scholarships, the trust of his
community, and the respect of his parents. This
Unnaturalness of Natural Selection in Origin of the...
Do you remember the accusatory advertisement from the 80 s, of Smokey Bear who
insisted that only YOU could prevent forest fires? Maybe there was more to this than
just the obvious. I mean definitely, ensure you put out your fires when camping, and
don t throw a lit cigarette around dry grass, but what if instead of forest fires, Smokey
mentioned global warming, mass extinction, or war and poverty? Can you imagine
that maybe that could be an accurate statement? Obviously, one person isn t capable
of changing these on such a grand scale, but if YOU actually said humans, then we
have the statement Only humans can prevent their own destruction and suddenly
there is a deluge of questions and ideas that might cause you to imagine about how...

Rising temperatures are causing melting glaciers, which cause rising oceans. Rising
oceans will envelop entire coastal cities, killing or displacing millions of people. Our
food sources will dwindle; entire species of animals will become extinct as we destroy
their homes to rebuild; and as our population skyrockets, an unimaginable number of
humans will be left homeless, starving, and sick.
In the United States, media is restricted, hiding the realities of war, environment
and health. Most Americans can recall the winner of the latest Academy Award, but
have no idea about the fees that Oklahoma has placed on those who choose to use
solar power. Fascination with pop stars and their private lives far outweigh the
desire to understand how GMO s could be harmful, and how generations of farmers
are being forced to stop growing or pay ridiculous fees to Monsanto.
Today, people are shrouded in ignorance. Worse, plenty are aware of their
ignorance, but are unwilling or scared to stand up and demand change, preferring to
plod through their lives, feeling safe in their repetitive schedules and choosing
blindness of reality. We are quickly losing our grip on the possibilities of saving the
future, leaving our children and future generations a mess, so incomprehensible;
they may not be capable of cleaning it up. We could be of the last generation to live

George Gershwin s Rhapsody In Blue
George Gershwin
George Gershwin was born on September 26, 1898. George died from brain surgery
on July 11, 1937 at the age of 38. He was from Brooklyn, New York. Gershwin had
many teachers as he was learning about making music. Gershwin was a composer of
a couple of genres. He was a composer of jazz, wrote opera s and performed popular
songs (Gershwin, 2015). He was an accomplished pianist and performer. He was a
known composer for his works. George Gershwin was a great and known composer.
At the age of eleven, Gershwin began showing interest in music when his family
bought a piano for his older brother Ira. When Gershwin was fifteen, he dropped out
of school and went into the music business (Cowen, 1998). He was a pianist and a

For the summertime piece, it was an aria that George wrote and it was a good piece.
It s a jazz piece and it is very soothing just like the Rhapsody in Blue. This was a
piece that George wrote for the opera, Porgy and Bess. Let s Call This Whole Thing
Off was a piece in the movie Shall We Dance . The piano solo was my favorite part.
It was more of a happy piece. The whole piece would sort of be like a minuet and trio
because it s for a dance. I honestly liked this composer and his works that he wrote.
They were all interesting to hear, each one was a new sound.
George Gershwin was known for many of his pieces. He was a good composer, and
he wrote a lot of good music. His major works like Rhapsody in Blue, Porgy and
Bess were his two most famous works. They were very popular in the time they
came out. He influenced the jazz music in that time. George was a great composer
and his music of jazz still lives

The Importance Of Gender Segregation In Education
Should boys and girls be taught separately? John Intini may think so. In Intini s
article Are we raising our boys to be underachieving men? , Intini explores the idea
that there are different barriers girls and boys face when it comes to education.
Intini suggests that same sex schools may be the answer in overcoming this barrier.
However, there is no concrete proof that single sex schooling is an equalizer which
is why boys and girls should not be segregated in the classroom. Teachers are now
recognizing that the gendergap needs to be addressed and have used early
intervention strategies to address the issue. Furthermore, a school environment
should be safe for all children. Individuals who do not conform to their genders may
feel uncomfortable if they are forced into same sex schooling. Finally, by segregating
children based on their gender, children may not be prepared for the real world as
future interactions in educationand the workplace will involve interaction between
both sexes. In this essay, I will explore the different barriers that girls and boys face,
as well as explain why I believe schools should not be gender segregated.
In his article, Intini suggests that boys and girls face different barriers when it comes
to education. Intini suggests that stereotypes affect the way in which girls and boys
operate. At an early age, boys are inclined to believe that doing what the teacher
wants and being good is unmasculine . Girls, on the other hand, are more
Methods Of Optimization Clustering
Optimization clustering As one of the most popular and widely used data mining
techniques, cluster analysis is mainly divided into hierarchical clustering and
partitional clustering, which are carried out in a supervised or unsupervised way to
separate data into different groups based on similar characteristics. Both the
hierarchical and partitional clustering have advantages and drawbacks. Especially, the
efficiency and accuracy are the primary challenges that clustering analysis has to
face. For example, the most efficient algorithm of hierarchical clustering is complete
linkage clustering in some special cases, the complexity of which is Оџ (n2).
Therefore, the hierarchical clustering usually leads to too slow efficiency for large
data... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, a new idea of using PSO for k means clustering technique is presented
by Vander Merwe and Engelbrecht. Different from traditional k means clustering,
which starts with multiple solutions to the problem, the new approach specifies a
fixed number of particles as a swarm, each of which representing the centroids of all
clusters. A new set of better solutions is generated after a successive iterations based
on previous solutions. As the first proposed method using PSO based on clustering, it
does not improve the efficiency of execution time, while this method provides a new
way to optimize clustering. Secondly, Omran propose Dynamic Clustering (DCPSO)
algorithm based on binary PSO combining with k means clustering. In this approach,
PSO is used for clustering the data while k means is used to refine the clustering
solution. At first, the number of clusters is determined automatically and the data sets
are clustered based on minimal user interference. In order to decrease the effects of
initial conditions, a relatively large number of clusters are generated firstly. Then the
number of clusters is optimized by binary particle swarm optimization, while K
means clustering algorithm is used to select the centroids. Both synthetic and natural
images are used to test the approach, which show that the optimum number of
clusters are generally founded on the tested images.
Three Facts About The Human Brain
After reading both of the articles on the human brain, I have learned a lot of things
that I never knew of. But the three facts that I learned about the brain that I didn t
know before was on the national geographic site, the article brain stated that the brain
s nerve cells are known as neutrons, which make up the organ s so called gray matter
(National Geographic, n.d.). That the cerebellum which is the second largest part of
the brainis responsible for coordinating muscle movement and controlling our
balance, and the cerebellum transmits information to the spinal cord and other parts
of the brain (National Geographic, n.d.). Also on The Human Brainarticle the limbic
system regulates body temperature, blood pressure, blood sugar level, and other
housekeeping activities. Also, the limbic system exists only in mammals (The human
brain, 2001).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I didn t know much about the brain actually until I read the two article that was
provided. But it is helpful because it s good to know which part of the brain causes
different problems. For example, in the Brain article it states that the hypothalamus
controls hormone and the hormones govern growth and instinctual behavior such as
eating, drinking, anger and reproduction (National Geographic, n.d.). Also, it s good
to know what each part of the brain is and what it does like the cerebrum is the largest
part of the brain and it has two halves that divides into four region or lobes in each
half. The frontal lobes are involved with speech, thought, learning, emotion, and
movement. The parietal lobes, which process sensory information like touch,
temperature and pain. The occipital lobes deal with the vision and the temporal
lobes are involved with hearing and memory (National Geographic, n.d.). Each of
these lobes could be the effect of memory loss or any kind of brain
What Are The Crow Indians
The Crow Indians were located over a large area which included south central
Montana and north central Wyoming, along the Big Horn and Yellowstone river
drainage, the Musselshell and Powder River, the Wind River Range, Yellowstone
Lake, and the Rocky Mountains. The land was a mixture of coniferous and
deciduous foothill and mountain forest, grassland prairies, and cottonwood treed
river valleys. The forest had edible berries and roots for grazing herd animals. The
Crow had a focus on the cultivation of crops such as maize for subsistence, but once
they acquired horses it shifted into buffalo hunting. Large game animals were hunted
such as buffalo, bison, deer, and elk and it led to the destruction of the bison herds.
The Crow had various

Subjection...
John Stuart Mill The Subjection of Women
Published in 1869, John Stuart Mill s The Subjection of Women is a revolutionary
feminist piece for its time, highlighting the unfair treatment of women in the
Victorian era. Particularly, middle class women were restricted from having lucrative
employment and attending institutions of higher education, were not permitted to
vote and had very few legal rights. Mill s work was crucial to the woman s movement
of the Victorian era, as he argued for government reforms of property laws, divorce
laws, and the right for women to vote.
In the very beginning of The Subjection of Women, Mill touches on the subject of
Victorian culture and the gender roles.
In Chapter 1 of his piece, Mills challenges the
Samuel Houston
Samuel Houston was a vital American soldier and later politician who was an
important role in Texas history, he helped create the state of Texas that resides in
the continental USA. He was a major role as an early politician for Texas, but he did
not just serve as a politician he also was the president of the Republic of Texas.
Houston was elected into this position twice, not only that he served as governor of
Texas.
Sam Houston was born on March 2nd, 1793 in Virginia. His father, Samuel, was a
war veteran of the American Revolutionary war. After his father died his family
moved to Tennessee. He briefly worked at his brother s store. He was dissatisfied by
this so he ran away at the age of sixteen. He ended up living with the Cherokee, and

ended up serving three terms in the Texas Senate and then ran for the Texas govern
ship during 1859. As the Civil War was about to start he argued against succession,
and was kicked out of office in March 1861. Before Sam Houston died he left office
stubbornly because he was forced to resign in March 1861, because he refused to
join confederacy and shortly after that in 1963 he died of pneumonia. Sam Houston
has had a big impact on Texas history, he came in this world a fighter and left this
world the same way. Sam Houston teaches us about courage and determination to
fight what for what is right. Without Sam Houston Texas history would be forever
different, he fought for statehood and states rights he was a man among men and
deserves to be respected for all that he did for the state of
Reminders Of Grief
Avoiding Reminders of the Deceased We may avoid places or things that trigger
painful feelings of grief. When we get rid of belongings right away, it can lead to
complicated bereavement.
Visiting Places or Carrying Objects that Remind Us of the Deceased Often we have
an underlying fear of losing memories of the deceased.
Crying There is potential healing value in crying, because our tears release mood
altering chemicals.

subject, that your feelings should be buried, and that grieving should be done alone
other than the occasional scenes at the funeral service. As an adult, I ve associated
grieving with self indulgence or self pity. You start to become isolated, different
and apart from everyone else, and have now convinced yourself that no one
understands and you must grieve on your own. You may feel stunned at the
normalcy of life around you as people go about their business, totally unaware that
your world has stopped and your entire life has been turned upside down. But at the

The Importance Of The Choice Of Tunisia
1.Introduction
In this introduction, some of the reasons will be presented to justify the choice of
Tunisia as the main subject of this paper. First of all, Tunisia is a great example for
our as a model of countries that switched from a complete oppressing and Internet
censorship to a country where freedom of Speech is preserved. Second, Tunisia gave
birth to the Arab spring through its Tunisian Revolution in January 2011. It was
fueled by the use of social medias where the protests were being organized and
supported through online networks (The use was mainly on Twitter and Facebook

2.The Tunisian Ecosystem
The beginning of Internet in Tunisia was back to 1991, when the first that was
established a full IP connectivity with the Internet and was hence the first country in
Africa and Middle East to get a fully IP connected Internet node. This project was

INRIA research center in France[*]. Let us take a detailed look about the background
of telecommunication.
a.Timeline and Background
Telecommunication in Tunisia is centralized in a telecommunication facility. Before
1995, Internet was totally controlled by the government. In 1995, the government
created TT (Tunisie Telecom) which the incumbent telecom operator. In April 1996,
the ministry of Communication established the ATI (Tunisian Internet Agency) to
regulate the country s Internet and domain name system (DNS) services (*). it is a

In An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding by
David...
In An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding by David Hume, the idea of
miracles is introduced. Hume s argument is that there is no rational reason for
human beings to believe in miracles, and that it is wrong to have miracles as the
building blocks for religion. It is because the general notion of miracles come from
the statement of others who claim to have seen them, Hume believes that there is no
way to prove that those accounts are accurate, because they were not experienced
first hand. In order to believe a miracle, the evidence should be concrete, and
something irrefutable. When there is any sort of doubt to a miracle, Hume says that
any evidence that can be contrary to the proof of a miracle is merely evidence that
the miracle did... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In essence, any miracle that a Christian believes as fact, is something that a Muslim
person would consider hearsay, and vice versa. There is a constant battle between
religions to disprove the other s miracles, and Hume believes that none of these
miracles occurred.
To Hume, it is never rational to believe in a miracle, as it is a violation of the laws
of nature. For a miracle to be believable, it must be based on testimony, and have a
focus on something that can be proven. This testimony must have evidence to
justify that the miracle is in fact based on a law of nature. For Hume, if a miracle
is to be rationally accepted, the evidence to support it must be balanced for the
evidence in the natural world. Even if there is a conflicting piece of evidence for
the miracle, the conclusion must indicate that said miracle is a probable
occurrence. With that probable evidence must come absolute proof that the person
who experienced the miracle was in his or her right state of mind, was never
diagnosed with a mental illness, and is a person who can be trusted to give factual
suggestions. Essentially, a miracle is possible because it is conceivable, but in
reality, there is no evidence to prove it. To properly establish his position on miracles,
Hume writes:
no testimony is sufficient to establish a miracle, unless the testimony be of such a
kind, that its falsehood would be more miraculous, than the fact, which it endeavours
to establish

Essays On Sustainability. 500 Words Essay on Sustainable Development with PDF Leverage Edu

  • 1. Essays On Sustainability Crafting an essay on the subject of sustainability can prove to be a formidable task, demanding a nuanced understanding of the multifaceted nature of the topic. Sustainability, being a broad and interdisciplinary concept, requires a comprehensive exploration of environmental, social, and economic dimensions. The complexity arises from the interconnectedness of these facets, demanding a delicate balance between the preservation of natural resources, social equity, and economic viability. Researching and gathering credible information is another challenge. Sustainability is a rapidly evolving field, with new research, policies, and innovations constantly emerging. Staying current with the latest developments in environmental science, social justice, and economic theories is essential to provide a well-informed perspective in the essay. Moreover, the essay should not merely summarize information but delve into critical analysis and synthesis of ideas. It necessitates the ability to connect seemingly disparate concepts and present a cohesive argument that addresses the intricacies of sustainability. Tackling issues such as climate change, resource depletion, and social inequality requires a depth of understanding that goes beyond surface-level examination. Additionally, the writer must grapple with the ethical dimensions of sustainability. Crafting a thoughtful and persuasive argument involves not only presenting facts but also navigating the ethical considerations inherent in discussions about resource use, environmental impact, and social justice. Furthermore, articulating a compelling thesis and organizing the essay's structure to convey ideas coherently adds another layer of complexity. Striking a balance between an engaging introduction, a well-supported body, and a impactful conclusion is crucial for an effective essay. In conclusion, writing an essay on sustainability is challenging due to the interdisciplinary nature of the topic, the need for up-to-date information, the demand for critical analysis, the ethical considerations involved, and the necessity for effective organization and presentation. It is a task that requires dedication, research skills, critical thinking, and a genuine commitment to understanding and addressing the complexities of sustainable practices. John Steinbeck Research Paper Evan King Professor Brent Kendrick English 242 3 July 2015 John Steinbeck John Steinbeck, the author of 26 novels, was one of the most prolific and popular American writers of the twentieth century. Steinbeck was the first and only western American novelist to both win the Nobel Prize and top the bestseller list. The peak of his career came with the publication of his masterpiece, The Grapes of Wrath (1939). The novel won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award and also generated controversy over its portrayal of California s sometimes merciless agricultural world, as well as its so called vulgar language and socialist bias. Nursing And Electronic Medical Records Nursing and Electronic Medical Records Thomas Stinde April 28, 2016 Coconino Community College Nursing and Electronic Medical Records In our society today, we have a broad range of computer technology for our use. This technology in the nursing field is called informatics. Informatics is defined as a combination of computer science, information science, and nursing science designed to assist in the management and processing of nursing data, information, and the knowledge to support the practice of nursing and the delivery of nursing care (Thede, 1). Nearly anywhere we go, and whatever career we choose we all need to have basic computer skills. Computers are used in the health care profession due to an increase of productivity they can provide, therefore allowing for better patient care. Computers also allow for hospitals, doctor s offices, and other healthcare facilities to change over to and begin keeping electronic medical records (EMR). An EMR has the medical information that the doctors and nurses obtain when you have an office visit. The patient s paper medical record is put into an EMR program is basically made into a digital version of that patient s medical information. The patient s healthcare provider can then use these EMRs for diagnoses and treatment. There can be advantages and disadvantages for healthcare providers to transition to an EMR system, and those providers will have to decide which one will outweigh the other. Discussion An
  • 11. Economic System And Economic Systems For this essay I will be focusing in on the three different economic system, which are known as centrally planned economy, mixed economy, and market economy. I will also be explaining why internationalizing firms should be aware of the differences between all three economic systems and what roles should the government be taking in the free market systems. Before I begin defining the different economic systemsI would like to first explain what an economic systemis. Every country differs in what economic system is being used. An economic system is a system of producing goods and the exchange of goods and services. An economic systems also includes a process which is used to allocate its assets. Culture can have a big impact because of a country s economy. Just as a country s economy state differs from country to country so does its culture. Why does it have an effect on a country s culture we ask? The difference between having an individualist or a collectivist culture is where we see it. In an individualist culture we see more people being rewarded then we see in a collectivist culture. Being rewarded with things such as low tax rates which inspires them to continue with their activities of their culture. As mentioned in Chapter 7 no nation is either considered to be fully individualist or fully collectivist. National economies are arranged on a scale in which we see the three different economic systems. The scale is setup in a way in which centrally planned economy is

  • 22. Kant And Locke On Freedom Essay NAME PROFESSOR NAME CLASS NAME 24 October 2015 Kant and Locke on Freedom The concept of freedom has long been a popular tenet for philosophers to explore. From ancient Greek origins to the present day, many individuals have discussed the importance of freedom and the role it plays within society in an effort to define its relationship to the human condition. Two philosophers that have studied freedom in depth are John Locke and Immanuel Kant. Both philosophers viewed freedom as playing a major role in society; however, they conceptualized it in different ways, particularly in relation to its role with the nation. Perhaps the most notable aspect of these stances is Kant s definition of the relationship between freedom, reason, and morality. Locke s Conception of Freedom Locke s main discussions of freedom took place in his work entitled Two Treatises on Government. These views were built upon the view of a natural state in which every individual maintained a state of natural freedom. In this natural state, each individual was free to make decisions and choose actions without any constraints. Locke felt that under this view every individual should maintain equal and independent and refrain from harming one another. However, the main problem in this concept of freedom is that fact that an individual s free will can be constrained by the actions of another. Based upon this reality, Locke generated the view of the social contract. In this sense, individuals must give up a

Fundamentally, this ushers the opportunity to realize a single chip capable of replacing an entire diagnostic system present in contemporary clinical laboratories or hospitals. Among various clinical applications, the focus of this paper is placed on the development of a novel spirometer for lung disease sensing purposes. Lung diseases such as Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary (COP) disease affect the airways and cause inabilities to exhale normally. A spirometer is the most reliable tool for lung disease and with 100 million sufferers approximated worldwide [9] has the potential to improve care for significant numbers. Commercially available spirometers for measuring complicated lung functions are bulky, expensive and not suitable for PoC lung disease monitoring. Also the available spirometers in the market require disposable parts. Indeed the development of a mobile free breathing easy to use spirometer for frequent (e.g. daily) measurement of lung status is the key challenge to diagnosis and control of the disease in its early stages. These beliefs changed and shaped the renaissance because they supported the idea of allowing individuals to choose their faith in religion and their jobs. For example, the time of humanism and individualism during the renaissance inspired others such as Plato to teach the best way to define something and Baldassare Castiglione to write the courtier. It also taught people the importance of being independent. Before humanism and individualism people believed their lives were predetermined and it was only working and fighting, because they were told their life was predetermined and their beliefs were in their blood. People who believed in humanism focused more on themselves than their previous beliefs in god. This still is relevant today because people choose their own jobs and religious beliefs as well as not having to praise one god. 2: The Renaissance began around the 1350 s because humanism had paved a way to art and the study of Greek and Roman literature, in Italy. During the middle ages people believed life was predetermined and they were in no control of their choices. Then suddenly people started to appreciate the writings and works of Greek and Roman literature because humanists shared their ideas of freedom through art and literature. The public soon realized that Greeks and Romans had lived differently in the past. They saw

LDLs may also be done to obtain the patient s loudness discomfort level, which ensures that their hearing add is not fit to be louder than what is comfortable for the patient. After the test results are obtained and explained to the patient, their expectations of a hearing aid are determined. This can be achieved via the APHAB, COSI and ECHO, which are commonly used at PEI. These tests are also used to determine what type of listening environments the patients are in, their motivation for wearing hearing aids and the areas in which they are having problems hearing. The donation of mitochondrial is extremely important because 1 in 200 children in the UK are born with the condition that can lead to disability and death and there is no cure currently (Mitochondrial donation, 2014). In the UK there is a shortage of donated gametes even though gamete donation is in demand (Murray et al,2000) especially within the ethnic minority groups (Purewal et al, 2005). More often gamete donation is more common within the men population than it is for the women. This may be down to the simple fact that the technology and methods for gamete donation for women are more intrusive and lengthy in comparison to that of a man s. Some oocyte donor express positive attributions about their donation experience (Jordan et al,2004) whilst others attribute some negative perceptions mainly about the techniques used and that were involved (Jordan et al,2004). Using assisted reproductive technology has an emotional effect on the surrogate, it could cause emotional distress on the surrogate when it comes to handing the baby over (Kennell et al,2002). Prior to this this stage there would have been a biological bond between the surrogate and the foetus during her pregnancy, pregnant women produce a hormone known as the oxytocin hormone which helps prepare the surrogate to have a natural maternal instinct. If one thinks this is fiction, it has happened before. The last time that a little ice age occurred it began around 1350 and lasted until the late 19th century. Also, this little ice age was preceded by a warm period with similar temperature patterns as today s warming trends. Current Event Necrotizing Fasciitis Hudson LO5 401 Lauryn McNeil 10 19 2016 Abstract The purpose of this paper is to discuss necrotizing fasciitis and discuss its treatments as well as practices that are currently being tested. This paper will also mention how to prevent necrotizing fasciitis. Necrotizing fasciitis is a flesh eating disease that attacks the subcutaneous layer of flesh. It is most common in patients with lowered immune systems as well as preexisting chronic diseases. Treatments include prompt surgery and debridement as well as the experiment hyperbaric oxygen treatment. Necrotizing Fasciitis Treatment Current Event Paper Necrotizing fasciitis is still a very real and very big problem even in 2016. It is a rapidly progressive inflammatory infection of the fascia, with secondary necrosis of the subcutaneous tissues (Edlich 2016). It commonly occurs as a complication from surgery or an existing medical condition. The three most important bacteria to cause necrotizing fasciitis are polymicrobial, group A streptococcal, and clostridial myonecrosis. Cases of necrotizing fasciitis have been increasing in recent years due to so much of the population being immunocompromised due to diseases or special issues. These include but are not limited to diabetes mellitus, cancer, alcoholism, vascular insufficiencies, organ transplants, HIV infection, or neutropenia (Edlich 2016). The most common age of patients is between 38 44 years with it rarely

This is followed by the threat model of the network and the kind of adversaries which pose threat to the network. The design goals of the proposed scheme are also listed. Figure 1. Network model with attack scenario 1 System Model We consider the sensors S={S1,S2, S3, .....Sx} are deployed where x is the population of the deployed sensors. Nodes are assumed to be deployed in uniform random distribution. Prior to deployment, each sensor is assumed to be loaded with a public /private keypair (pi; si), for i = 1; 2; 3; 4;.....x. Among the public key cryptosystems available, we assume to used ID based public key cryptography. The event generation in the network, is considered to be random. Event is sensed by the neighboring sensor nodes where the event has occurred. These neighboring nodes will try to report the event occurred to the sink or base station through anonymous authentication, maintaining the privacy of the event as well as privacy of the nodes in terms of location and identity. So the neighboring nodes of the occurred event will form a ring signature groups addressing other selective nodes in the network. The size of the rings will depend on the number of neighboring nodes when the event has occurred. The payload of the messages will depend on the number of nodes in the anonymity set of

The Ministry of Truth s purpose is to change history in order for the Party to benefit from the facts for propaganda, therefore the department is responsible for the decrease in historic events. Although some would believe that the most central paradox in Orwell s 1984 is the Ministry of Plenty, it is clearly the Ministry of Truth, as evidenced by the amount of control that this department gives the Party. The Ministry of Truth is clearly the most crucial paradox. The department changes facts from history, while in reality, the department isn t telling the truth since they are deleting events from the past in order to look perfect to the public. For example, Orwell describes, All history was a palimpsest, scraped clean and reinscribed exactly as often as was necessary (Orwell 40). This is crucial because the citizens are being lied to in order to protect the reputation of the Party. The citizens won t know the truth about their own life, which will negatively affect them since the Party gains power if they are manipulating their own citizens about the truth of history. Morals are rules one must abide by which include, a positive sense of self, self discipline, good decision making skills, and prosocial connectedness. A negative upbringing can have a consequence on these skills, such as domestic abuse in a household, this starts to shape an individual, subsequently, this will determine what type of moral development one will have. For example, a person exposed to domestic violence can have problems with attachment. This lack of attachment to others interferes with moral development. How Social Control Theory Affects Criminal Behavior How Social Control Theory and Life Course Theory effect criminal behavior Mason Campbell Barge 900259391 University of North Georgia Criminology 11 /17/14 How Social Control Theory and Life Course Theory effect criminal behavior Social control theory and life course theory focus on people s lives and how they interact with one another. The basic idea of the life course theory is that people s life experiences, both good and bad, determine what kind of person that they will be later in life. This does not mean that just because a person who had a good childhood, lived in a wealthy home, and had good parents, will continue to be a good person. The same can be said for people who had a bad childhood. Children who got in fights and disrespected authority figures may not continue to do that later on in life. A life course theorist would say this is because there are turning points in these people s lives that they go through. These turning points cause a person to change their current life course (Siegel, 2013, p. 305). For example a teenage boy who, regularly attends school, stays active in his community, and has good grades, decides to celebrate his success by smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol with some friends. The police show up and arrest the young man for drug possession and underage drinking. Now the young man has a criminal record and waste some of his time in jail. He loses his scholarships, the trust of his community, and the respect of his parents. This

In Intini s article Are we raising our boys to be underachieving men? , Intini explores the idea that there are different barriers girls and boys face when it comes to education. Intini suggests that same sex schools may be the answer in overcoming this barrier. However, there is no concrete proof that single sex schooling is an equalizer which is why boys and girls should not be segregated in the classroom. Teachers are now recognizing that the gendergap needs to be addressed and have used early intervention strategies to address the issue. Furthermore, a school environment should be safe for all children. Individuals who do not conform to their genders may feel uncomfortable if they are forced into same sex schooling. Finally, by segregating children based on their gender, children may not be prepared for the real world as future interactions in educationand the workplace will involve interaction between both sexes. As the first proposed method using PSO based on clustering, it does not improve the efficiency of execution time, while this method provides a new way to optimize clustering. Secondly, Omran propose Dynamic Clustering (DCPSO) algorithm based on binary PSO combining with k means clustering. In this approach, PSO is used for clustering the data while k means is used to refine the clustering solution. At first, the number of clusters is determined automatically and the data sets are clustered based on minimal user interference. In order to decrease the effects of initial conditions, a relatively large number of clusters are generated firstly. Then the number of clusters is optimized by binary particle swarm optimization, while K means clustering algorithm is used to select the centroids. Both synthetic and natural images are used to test the approach, which show that the optimum number of clusters are generally founded on the tested images.

But the three facts that I learned about the brain that I didn t know before was on the national geographic site, the article brain stated that the brain s nerve cells are known as neutrons, which make up the organ s so called gray matter (National Geographic, n.d.). That the cerebellum which is the second largest part of the brainis responsible for coordinating muscle movement and controlling our balance, and the cerebellum transmits information to the spinal cord and other parts of the brain (National Geographic, n.d.). Also on The Human Brainarticle the limbic system regulates body temperature, blood pressure, blood sugar level, and other housekeeping activities. Also, the limbic system exists only in mammals (The human brain, 2001).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I didn t know much about the brain actually until I read the two article that was provided. But it is helpful because it s good to know which part of the brain causes different problems. For example, in the Brain article it states that the hypothalamus controls hormone and the hormones govern growth and instinctual behavior such as eating, drinking, anger and reproduction (National Geographic, n.d.). Also, it s good to know what each part of the brain is and what it does like the cerebrum is the largest part of the brain and it has two halves that divides into four region or lobes in each half. The frontal lobes are involved with speech, thought, learning, emotion, and movement. The parietal lobes, which process sensory information like touch, temperature and pain. The occipital lobes deal with the vision and the temporal lobes are involved with hearing and memory (National Geographic, n.d.). Each of these lobes could be the effect of memory loss or any kind of brain

What Are The Crow Indians The Crow Indians were located over a large area which included south central Montana and north central Wyoming, along the Big Horn and Yellowstone river drainage, the Musselshell and Powder River, the Wind River Range, Yellowstone Lake, and the Rocky Mountains. The land was a mixture of coniferous and deciduous foothill and mountain forest, grassland prairies, and cottonwood treed river valleys. The forest had edible berries and roots for grazing herd animals. The Crow had a focus on the cultivation of crops such as maize for subsistence, but once they acquired horses it shifted into buffalo hunting. Large game animals were hunted such as buffalo, bison, deer, and elk and it led to the destruction of the bison herds. The Crow had various

John Stuart Mill The Subjection of Women Published in 1869, John Stuart Mill s The Subjection of Women is a revolutionary feminist piece for its time, highlighting the unfair treatment of women in the Victorian era. Particularly, middle class women were restricted from having lucrative employment and attending institutions of higher education, were not permitted to vote and had very few legal rights. Mill s work was crucial to the woman s movement of the Victorian era, as he argued for government reforms of property laws, divorce laws, and the right for women to vote. In the very beginning of The Subjection of Women, Mill touches on the subject of Victorian culture and the gender roles. In Chapter 1 of his piece, Mills challenges the

Samuel Houston Samuel Houston was a vital American soldier and later politician who was an important role in Texas history, he helped create the state of Texas that resides in the continental USA. He was a major role as an early politician for Texas, but he did not just serve as a politician he also was the president of the Republic of Texas. Houston was elected into this position twice, not only that he served as governor of Texas. Sam Houston was born on March 2nd, 1793 in Virginia. His father, Samuel, was a war veteran of the American Revolutionary war. After his father died his family moved to Tennessee. He briefly worked at his brother s store. Even though he was planning on retiring Houston helped Texas get into the USA in 1845, and was elected to be one of the founding senators for the state. Houston ended up serving three terms in the Texas Senate and then ran for the Texas govern ship during 1859. As the Civil War was about to start he argued against succession, and was kicked out of office in March 1861. Before Sam Houston died he left office stubbornly because he was forced to resign in March 1861, because he refused to join confederacy and shortly after that in 1963 he died of pneumonia. Sam Houston has had a big impact on Texas history, he came in this world a fighter and left this world the same way. Sam Houston teaches us about courage and determination to fight what for what is right. Without Sam Houston Texas history would be forever different, he fought for statehood and states rights he was a man among men and deserves to be respected for all that he did for the state of

When we get rid of belongings right away, it can lead to complicated bereavement. Visiting Places or Carrying Objects that Remind Us of the Deceased Often we have an underlying fear of losing memories of the deceased. Crying There is potential healing value in crying, because our tears release mood altering chemicals. Searching or Calling Out for the Deceased. Restless Over activity. Social With an overwhelming sense of missing the person you ve loved there comes the crushing awareness of all that you ve lost (Howarth, 2011). You would now give anything to be together again, if only long enough to be relieved of your loneliness and to be reassured that your loved one is still a part of your life. Instead we are either taught or learn how to control our feelings and hide our pain so we don t disturb other people. As a child I learned that grief is a taboo subject, that your feelings should be buried, and that grieving should be done alone other than the occasional scenes at the funeral service. As an adult, I ve associated grieving with self indulgence or self pity. You start to become isolated, different and apart from everyone else, and have now convinced yourself that no one understands and you must grieve on your own. You may feel stunned at the normalcy of life around you as people go about their business, totally unaware that your world has stopped and your entire life has been turned upside down. But at the end of the day, the world is in constant orbit and pauses for no
  • 58. The Importance Of The Choice Of Tunisia 1.Introduction In this introduction, some of the reasons will be presented to justify the choice of Tunisia as the main subject of this paper. First of all, Tunisia is a great example for our as a model of countries that switched from a complete oppressing and Internet censorship to a country where freedom of Speech is preserved. Second, Tunisia gave birth to the Arab spring through its Tunisian Revolution in January 2011. It was fueled by the use of social medias where the protests were being organized and supported through online networks (The use was mainly on Twitter and Facebook since other social networks, video sharing and blogs such as Youtube, Dailymotion, Amnesty International website..). • 59. In An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding by David... In An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding by David Hume, the idea of miracles is introduced. Hume s argument is that there is no rational reason for human beings to believe in miracles, and that it is wrong to have miracles as the building blocks for religion. It is because the general notion of miracles come from the statement of others who claim to have seen them, Hume believes that there is no way to prove that those accounts are accurate, because they were not experienced first hand. In order to believe a miracle, the evidence should be concrete, and something irrefutable. When there is any sort of doubt to a miracle, Hume says that any evidence that can be contrary to the proof of a miracle is merely evidence that the miracle did... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In essence, any miracle that a Christian believes as fact, is something that a Muslim person would consider hearsay, and vice versa. There is a constant battle between religions to disprove the other s miracles, and Hume believes that none of these miracles occurred. To Hume, it is never rational to believe in a miracle, as it is a violation of the laws of nature. For a miracle to be believable, it must be based on testimony, and have a focus on something that can be proven. This testimony must have evidence to justify that the miracle is in fact based on a law of nature. For Hume, if a miracle is to be rationally accepted, the evidence to support it must be balanced for the evidence in the natural world. Even if there is a conflicting piece of evidence for the miracle, the conclusion must indicate that said miracle is a probable occurrence. With that probable evidence must come absolute proof that the person who experienced the miracle was in his or her right state of mind, was never diagnosed with a mental illness, and is a person who can be trusted to give factual suggestions. Essentially, a miracle is possible because it is conceivable, but in reality, there is no evidence to prove it. To properly establish his position on miracles, Hume writes: no testimony is sufficient to establish a miracle, unless the testimony be of such a kind, that its falsehood would be more miraculous, than the fact, which it endeavours to establish (Hume, An Enquiry
