Why I Play Basketball
Why I Play Basketball
Basketball. A great game that was originated in Springfield, Massachusetts in
1891. Basketball was created by a canadian gym coach who used peach baskets
when it was raining and snowing outside. Now the sport is played all over the
world. One of the most popular sports in the world, and I hated it. I hated this God
given sport, until 4 years ago. When something great happened to me on April 17
2010 I turned my perspective on basketball. I really hated basketball from the
beginning but then I changed throughout the way.
When I was really young around 4 10 I really loved soccer because it required
endurance, speed, and it was really fun to play. And from that time I really didn t
like basketball. I thought that this sport was the epitome to the league of sports. I
thought that tennis was way better at the time. And I wasn t a big fan of tennis.
But I really didn t like the sport at all. I was athletically gifted at the sport, like
most other sports. I had the fundamentals from my father, and he tried to convince
me to play, but I still refused to associate myself with basketball. I even disliked to
watch basketball I would refuse to play with my siblings. And all that I encouraged
other people to play was soccer. The reason that I loved soccer was because my first
gift was a soccer ball. Since that time I was infatuated with soccer. I played it in my
backyard and in the park. I never stopped playing for anything even when it was dark

Hand Hygiene For The Health And Mortality Of Their
Patients
Hand decontamination is the use of hand wash or alcohol rub that reduces the number
of bacteria on the hands. Hand decontamination is also referred to as hand hygiene .
Hand Hygiene is an integral part of nursing care, as effectively decontaminating hands
significantly reduces the risk of pathogens being transferred from one surface to
another, or from person to person (NICE, 2014). This means, that through practicing
good hand hygiene, nurses can actively reduce the incidences of preventable
healthcare associated infections, therefore improving the health and mortality of their
patients.
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE, 2012) guidelines state
that misconceptions about hand hygiene in relation to infection control are still being
reported and that effective hand decontamination is still not collectively practiced,
despite a vast improvement in recent years. This means that although many execute
good practice, there are still healthcare workers who are putting patients at risk by not
following the recommended procedure.
NICE (NICE, 2012) guidelines for prevention and control of healthcare associated
infections also state that hands must be sanitised at the point immediately before any
direct contact with patients, immediately after the episode of care, immediately after
exposure to bodily fluids, immediately after any contact with patient s surroundings
that could potentially result in contamination and immediately after the removal of
gloves,
Essay on The Investigation of William McGuire s Murder
On April 28, 2004, after closing on his dream house, William McGuire was brutally
murdered. His body was severed into three pieces, placed into three matching Kenneth
Cole suitcases and then dumped in the Chesapeake Bay. The investigation of his
murder would span three years, involve two different investigative teams and end in
the conviction of his wife, Melanie McGuire, based on circumstantial evidence
(Glatt, 2008). The discovery of this crime began as a fishing trip for Chris Henkle,
Dee Connors and his two children Sam and Claire on May 5, 2004. While relocating
the boat to find better fishing, Connor spotted a suitcase floating in the water. As
young Sam opened the suitcase hoping it contained pirate s treasure, he found its...

A second Kenneth Cole suitcase was found on May 11 by a girl picking up litter
on the Fisherman Island Bird sanctuary. Upon opening the suitcase, the girl saw a
human shoulder and was overwhelmed by the smell of rotting flesh. Once again,
Virginia Beach Homicide Detectives Dr. Gray and Beth Dunton arrived on scene.
The suitcase was photographed then the body parts taken for an autopsy. Inside
this suitcase Dr. Wendy Gunther found the head, torso and arms of a white male
inside black plastic trash bags just like the first suitcase. The man had been shot
three times: once in the head, once in the back and once in the abdomen. These
gunshot wounds were designated as the cause of death. Gunther also documented
that the victim s head was covered by a bloodstained blanket that read property of
HCSC. While performing the autopsy, Dr. Gunther found a bullet in the waist area
that he saved to be tested for ballistics at a later date (Glatt, 2008). Due to the
missing section of the body, everyone knew there must be a third suitcase waiting to
be discovered. The third Kenneth Cole suitcase was found floating off the Bridge
Tunnel s second island on May 16 by Carl and Linda Stevens. The same procedures
that were used to document and examine the other two suitcases were repeated.
Dunton again tested the trash bags for fingerprints, but none were found. This
suitcase contained the midsection of a white
Epilepsy Brain Disorder
Introduction Epilepsy is a brain disorder classified as a neurological disorder that
affects the brain s electrical and immoderate activity which causes a person to have
a seizure. This brain disorder goes back thousands of years to Ancient Greece
where these individuals believed that people had seizures, they were being visited
by an evil spirit or demon. The word Epilepsy also derives from the ancient Greek
word attack. Ancient Greeks also thought that this neurological disorder, Epilepsy,
was infectious and for this same matter most of the people that suffered from this
disorder lived alone. Now in present day, researchers and scientist know that this is
not true and they now know the real factors and things that cause these seizures to
occur. Epilepsy is classified into different types, each depending on what part of
the brain is being affected and on the result of the seizure; different parts of the
brain that are being affected results to the type of Epilepsy one has. However, all
kinds of epilepsies have the same symptoms which are seizures. As of 2014,
Epilepsy was the fourth most common neurological disorder, until this year when a
new study was conducted. It was discovered that in only two years Epilepsy had
become the most common neurological disorder in the world. Epilepsy is
drastically increasing over the years that more than 200,000 cases of Epilepsy are
being reported each year. According to the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, about 2.3 million American adults and 467,000 children have Epilepsy.
Even this neurological brain disorder can occur in whatever age, 30% of the time a
new case is being reported began in early years. Seizure and its Biochemistry... Show

The History Of Thelonious Monk
Birdland, the famous New York jazz club located in the crowded Times Square, filled
its ample room with a new quartet of veteran musicians who proclaimed themselves
The Jazz Masters.
If we take a look at its members Dave Liebman on tenor and soprano saxophones,
John Abercrombie on guitar, Steve Swallow on electric bass, and Joey Baron on
drums we immediately conclude that the name couldn t be more appropriate since
they ve been marking the history of jazz with their indelible paths and extensive
discographies of exceptional quality.
For these sessions they played some of the most remarkable compositions of
Thelonious Monk, starting with Bye Ya , which pulsed with its swinging, Latin feel
energy. Abercrombie, a guitarist who was never
The Boeing 7e7
Objectives
The objectives of The Boeing 7E7 case study is to seek the answer for the project
question.
Why is Boeing contemplating the launch of the 7E7 project? Is this the good time
to do so? How would we know if the 7E7 project will create value? How to estimate
the WACC?
Is there anything else the board of directors should consider in assessing the
financial appeal of this project? Why might the board vote yes on the 7E7, when the
cost of capital estimate is greater than the IRR? Why might the board vote no if the
cost of capital is less than the IRR?
What should the board do?

Airbus, the market leader, produced planes to serve the short, medium and extended
range routes. Analysts believe that Airbus seemed to be more bullish on the future of
the large aircraft market leaving Boeing an opportunity to gain back market share in
the mid size market, assuming that Airbus did not pursue the mid range segment
with a competing product. Boeing had a drop in commercial airplanes delivered
from 527 in 2001 to 381 in 2002 and needed this project to keep them in the hunt with
Airbus.
The board will also have to consider the decades it may take to recoup the costs of
starting this project. Development costs in the airline industry are substantial
leading to many years of negative cash flows. The introduction of a new plane is a
make or break activity for the producers and requires huge financing capabilities.
The development costs and per copy costs were difficult to predict, and Boeing also
faced engineering uncertainty with the project. The success of the project depends
heavily on Boeing s ability to keep the production costs low and actually deliver a
more efficient aircraft than the competition.
Yes this is the good time for Boeing to launch their new aircraft. At this time, the price
of raw materials are very cheap caused by unexpected disasters. Although there s no
demand at this moment, but they can still continue making the aircraft. The further
information will describe how Boeing can continue
Dunstan Ramsay Fifth Business Quotes
Dunstan Ramsay is Fifth Business The novel Fifth Business by Robertson Davies is a
fictional autobiography of the narrator, Dunstan Ramsay. Dunstan outlines his life
experiences and pays special attention to saints and religion, both of which interest
him. Although the story is about Dunstan, he seems to have a supporting role in the
lives of others. In this book, Dunstan Ramsay is referred to as:
Fifth Business because he is the one who knows the secret of the hero s birth, or
comes to the assistance of the heroine when she thinks all is lost, or keeps the
hermitess in her cell, or may even be the cause of somebody s death if that is part of
the plot. (Davies, 227)
The Fifth Business is an important character in a story because they aid in completing
a story. Dunstan Ramsay is successfully portrayed as Fifth Business through
accepting his role as the odd man out while facilitating events in the lives of others

Richard M. Schulze And Gary Smoliak
In 1966, Richard M. Schulze and Gary Smoliak founded the Sound of Music store
which sold home and car stereo equipment in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The company
had over $1 million in revenue and made about $58,000 in profits in its first year; it
had three stores in Minnesota and became a publicly held company after 3 years.
In 1970, Richard solely owned the company since he bought out the stakes of his
partner. Later, he realized that the market was heading to saturation and the number
of his target customers was decreasing day by day. In 1983, Richard made a decision
of renaming the company as Best Buy Co., Inc. to make the store more appealing to
the customers. It was also rebranded by putting more emphasis on consumer

One of the most important tool in Lean mfd. is the PDCA (Plan Do Check Act Cycle).
This is often termed as the Deming Cycle or the Deming Wheel after its founder,

Deming was one of the creators of the quality management approach that is followed
by many present industries.
He also introduced the manufacturing world to statistical process control techniques
which was very effectively used by the Japanese at that time, who used them with
great success.
According to him if the production processes are defined clearly, the quality of the

Step 3: Check In this phase, the effectiveness of the pilot solution is measured, and
information is recorded. This information is then used to make the solution even
better.
Depending on the success of the solution and the number of areas for improvement
found, one may decide how many times the Do and Check phases should be repeated,
to find more effective solution.
Once a satisfied solution is found that will outweigh the cost of benefits achieved by
repeating the Do and Check phases any more. We can finally move on to the final
phase.
Step 4: Act
Now once you found an appropriate solution, its time implement the same.
However, the use of the PDCA Cycle doesn t stop here.

Notes On The Price Of Wheat Futures
Strategy 1:
Concerns regarding fluctuations in the price of a certain commodity in the coming
future can secured through the use of different derivative products. In the given case,
prime concern of the management of Karl s bakery is to protect itself against the
future variations in the price of the wheat, as it can impact their business in a
significant way. The suitable option for the bakery is to take longposition in
December wheat futures contracts as the management procures bulk of the wheat in
December. It will provide Karl s management hedge against unanticipated rise in the
price of wheat. The bakery needs to purchase almost 25,000 bushels of wheat.
Therefore, 5 contracts have been purchased (each contract is based on 5,000 bushels
of wheat). Price of each contract is $5.08, and total cost of this strategy stands at
$127,000.
This position in closed on 27th October. The price of wheat futures has risen from
$5.08 to $ 5.11 during the period. This price rise translated into positive gains for the
bakery as it indicated rise in the price of the underlying commodity. The management
has remained successful in hedging its price risk by taking long position in wheat
futures.
Strategy 2:
Primary apprehension of a corn seller is decline in the price commodity which will
impact his revenues negatively. Short position in corn futures will lock in the future
price of the corn and will guarantee the locked price of the commodity, irrespective of
the actual market price of the

setting numerous records and being arguably one of the greatest baseball teams of
all time. Behind the outstanding play of Babe Ruth, teammate Lou Gehrig was also
performing at an amazingly high level but was shadowed by Ruth s legendary

for his mother while she was in surgery. His heart wasn t in the game. All he could

Babe Ruth ended up hitting his fifty ninth home run off of a Paul Hopkins pitch, and
years later in a Sports Illustrated interview, Paul Hopkins said that Ruth . . . swung,
breaking his wrists as he came through it. which shows how bad he wanted it just to
get his 59th home run, putting him one away from the record. On September 30th,
1927, Babe Ruth hit the legendary sixtieth home run against pitcher Tom Zachary.
While Ruth and everyone in the stadium was excited, Ruth s teammates were not.
According to Pete Sheehy, the team equipment manager at the time, No one
expected Ruth to stop at 60. It was assumed that he would hit at least one more the
next day, and possibly reach even greater heights in years to come (Bryson 782).
With such a historic season, Babe Ruth did not hit any more home runs that year and
the record was set at sixty. The New York Yankeeswon 110 games during the 1927
season and broke many records along with Babe Ruth. Ruth s legendary record
held for 34 years until Roger Moris broke it by hitting sixty one home runs due to a
. . . longer season, which gave him 10 more games and 50 more at bats than Ruth in
1927 (Bryson 783). Babe Ruth s 1927 season was so legendary that even players
today who are . . . taking anabolic steroids (Bryson 783) cannot do what the Babe
Ruth did that year. The use of drugs as an aid to hitting is far beyond the scope of
this book, so let us just note in passing
Definition Of Defining Needs Assessment Essay
Defining Needs Assessment
A needs assessment process is used by organizations to regulate priorities and make
enhancements, or distribution of resources within the organization. The process
includes determining the needs between the organizations future and current states
and how to improve (Noe, 2017). The needs assessment is a development plan of
actions which needs to be addressed to close the gaps within the organization for its
future desired state (Noe, 2017).
There are several steps to completing the assessment effectively. First, the company
must explore and identify where the organization has needs, there may be a need for
new technology, more resources, more or less employees, relocation or expansion.
Learning the current state in comparison to where they want to be can be very
important (BLR, 2016). Secondly, the company must gather data and analysis.
Collecting information to understand the gaps between current and future status can
be done using internal records, or external surveys. They can also use secondary
data collected by the government (BLR, 2016). The next step is to Utilize the data
collected to create an action plan and implement it. The goal is to develop a plan
which can close the gaps between current and future desires. Setting priorities,
applying costs, assessing solutions, and determining which ideas are most suited to
resource for implementing (BLR, 2016). After putting together the action plan the
last step is to evaluate the results of the

A. Colonialism in North America
England s desire for economic gain and religious freedom sparked the beginning of
their interest in colonialism in America (Gouch, LeGuin, Walton, 1998). While some
settlers came to America in search of gold or other riches, the Puritans that settled the
Massachusetts Bay Colony came to escape religious persecution and have freedom to
worship as they desired. In 1630, over a thousand Puritans arrived, being led by a
lawyer named John Winthrop. All English settlers were required to set up charter

The British, unwilling to give up their rule, even went as far as to demand that
Colonist pay for the protection of the British Army and Navy. The Colonist felt since
they had no representation in the British parliament, they owed nothing. When no
agreement could be reached a revolution was inevitable (Joes, 1996).
Another cause of the American Revolution was the desire of the colonists to have
freedom of religion and the determination of England that the colonist must remain
true to the Church of England. Puritans, a religious group who came to the colonies
seeking freedom of religion, wanted to remain a part of the Church of England, but
develop their own style of worship. Another more radical religious group, Separatists,
wanted a complete break from the Church of England. The goal of both of both the
Puritans and the Separatists was to have the freedom to express religious beliefs
without fear of persecution by the church or government. England remained firm that
the colonist must follow the practice of the Church of England with no variation (
Annenberg Learner, 2013).

The general cause of the Indian Independence Movement was India s desire for

of the Indian Independence Movement took place in 1905 when the province of

On February 12, 2009, a Colgan Airlines flight operating as Continental Connection
Flight 3407 crashed two miles from the runway in Buffalo, New York, killing all fifty
people aboard.. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation that
followed stunned the American public and identified the need to closely examine the
regulations governing pilot training and pilot rest requirements, with a strong focus
on regional airlines (Berard, 2010, 2). Currently, the United States government has
passed HR 5900, which was titled the AirlineSafety and Federal Aviation
AdministrationExtension Act of 2010 and is now called Public Law 111 216 (Public
Law 111 126, 2010, 3). The bill targets five focal points that will force the Federal...

The reason that this came about was the captain of the Colgan accident flight in
Buffalo, New York had failed five checkrides in his life time. This would not
normally be a big deal, but he failed his checkrides because he was not satisfactory
in icing procedures...one of the major causes of the accident according to the NTSB.
Implementation of NTSB Flight Crewmember Training Recommendations The
National Traffic Safety Board (NTSB) is an independent United States government
investigative agency responsible for civil transportation accident investigation. The
NTSB investigates all aviation accidents and incidents. On an annual basis, this bill
requires that the FAA accepts all NTSB flight crewmember training recommendations
that come up over the past year (Hughes, 2010). For example, the NTSB has
requested that the FAA include flight in icing conditions into all flight training
curriculums.
FAA Rulemaking on Training Programs Prior to this bill, the FAA had no say in
what airlines included in their training programs as long as the program included
certain subjects. No later than fourteen months after the date the bill is signed into
law, the FAA will issue a final rule on all training programs (House Transportation
Subcommittee, 2010). This was brought into effect because Colgan Airlines did not
include flight into icing conditions in their flight
Rwandan Genocide And Ethnic Conflict
I.Introduction
On April 6 1994, following the death of president Juvenal Habyarimana, the state of
Rwanda was hurled into chaos as genocides took the lives of 800,000 people . Began
by the Hutu political elite and its military support, their main targets were the Tutsi,
and Hutu moderates. Many have claimed ethnic hatred as the reason of the Rwanda
Genocide and while an ethnic split existed in Rwanda during the conflict, the causes
for the genocide are numerous and complicated. In examining the Rwanda Genocide
as an ethnic conflict it is crucial that ethnicity be inspected as it affected and was
affected by economic, political and social elements. The problem for explaining the
brutality in Rwanda as an ethnic conflict is that as the ... Show more content on

II.Ethnicity in Conflict
Although some ethnic identities were founded on inherent biological, cultural, or
racial traits dividing lines have mostly changed. On the contrary, the characteristics of
ethnic groups are enormously personal and have undertaken a presumed identity . As
much as ethnicity is distinguished by a mutual identity inside a specific group, it is
concurrently explained by its differences with other groups. While constituents of an
ethnic group take part in an identity founded on a mutual characteristic or opinion,
their ethnic attributes (such as language, race, religion) are normally not all the same,
and if they are, these characteristics independently are not distinct to that group. The
difference in the amalgamation of characteristics that shapes an ethnic identity
signifies that a person normally shares mutuality with more than one ethnic group.
Moreover, what are the fixed dividing lines that determine an ethnic group when its
constituents have mutual characteristics with one other, but as well with other
groups? The ethnic label subsumes a number of simultaneous characteristics which
no doubt cluster statistically, but which are not absolutely interdependent and
connected .
As the discussion on ethnic conflict proceeds to grow, it has possibly grown more
and more onerous to establish a
Analysis Of The Book The Count Of Monte Cristo For The...
Reading sends a feeling throughout my body and mind that is rather difficult to
explain. The feeling is overwhelming and takes over my entire thought process. It is
as though I want to shut out the world and fall completely into the book so I can
experience the words instead of just reading them, but at the same time I wantto be
able to talk to every person I know about the story and the characters and every little
detail of every major plot twist. That awe inspiring feeling first came when I began
reading The Count of Monte Cristofor the first time.
During my winter break I decided to take advantage of the time away from school by

There was something about this book that stood out to me. I don t know if it was the
blue and gold intricate designs covering it, the title, or something else that I couldn t
comprehend right then. Whatever it was, it drew me to that book like a magnet and I
thought this is the one. I need to get this one.
The snow came earlier than expected and by earlier, I mean it came at noon instead
of nine o clock. I came home and immediately started shoveling snow off my
driveway so my mom wouldn t need to do it. My shoveling was constantly
interrupted by my own thoughts, I wonder what it s like to read a book so big. I can
t imagine it will be easy to read. I wonder what it s about. I just want to go in and
start reading.
At long last, the shoveling was done and it was my time. I hurried inside, changed
my clothes to something dry and warm, and went out onto the deck. A patio chair
was left out from one of our summer dinner parties so I brushed it off and set
myself up there. I took a couple chopped logs off the pile to my left and lit the fire
in the fire pit for its inaugural lighting of the season. I pulled my chair as close to
the fire as I could; close enough to get warm, but far enough away that I didn t catch
on fire. With that, I was finally ready, so I curled under my blanket and began reading.
I sat outside reading for hours, paying no attention to the fact that it was only thirty
degrees outside.
Skeptics Of The Holy Spirit
To a skeptic the Holy Spirit may seem as another description of God the Father that
the Spirit is not a separate person at all. Some acknowledging the Spirit contend the
Spirit is not fully God. However, Scripture supports the existence of the Trinity,
including the person of the Holy Spirit, sharing the same authority, and power as God
the Father and the Son. Through the works of the Spirit, skeptics can be converted
by perceiving the things of God once hidden. Of great importance, Wesley identified
the Holy Spirit as one of the three persons of the Trinity. That the Spirit of God had
all the attributes of God, and is eternally in communion the fullness of God (Oden,
2012, p.105 106). Our God has said, I am the Lord; that is my... Show more content

The Spirit is the witness to the adoption of believers into God s family as a joint heir
with Christ (Romans 8:12 16). Wesley describes the Spirit as guiding, rectifying,
teaching, purifying and uniting believers together in the will of God through Jesus
Christ (Oden, 2012, p.106). The Bible tells us while Jesus has ascended above and
is seated at the right hand of the Father, the Holy Spirit dwells in believers here (
Matthew 22:44, Psalm 101:1, Acts 1:5, John 14:17). It is the indwelling of the
Holy Spirit that allows believers to see the truth, and perceive the Spirit himself
He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him,
because it isn t looking for him and doesn t recognize him. But you know him,
because he lives with you now and later will be in you. John 14:17 (NLT). So it is
by the infilling of the Holy Spirit, that one not only experiences works of the Spirit,
but confirmation of the Spirit Himself. In conclusion Scripture confirms the person
of the Holy Spirit, sharing equally in the glory and authority of the Godhead. The
Spirit of God possesses attributes reserved only for Almighty God and reviles the
things of God to man, including the presence of the Spirit
Disneyland Is The Most Successful Amusement Park
Disneyland is the most successful amusement park in the world. Since the original
park opened in 1955 more than a half billion people have visited the Disney theme
parks worldwide, making it the most visited theme park in history. It is a symbol of
global Americanization and cultural expansionism. American pop culture is prevalent
all over the world and Disneyland is the perfect representation of this notion. Tourist
from all over the world come to America and enjoy the Disney theme park
experience and soon enough new Disneyland parks will be built around the world.
Tokyo Disneyland
Once Disney discovered the amount of Japanese tourist that visited the Disneyland
parks in America, it was inevitable that the Disney Corporation would build a theme
park overseas. In 1962, the Japanese company, Oriental Land Co. (OLC) approached
Disney with the idea of building a theme park in Japan. The Walt DisneyCompany
licensed Disney characters and other copyrighted material to Tokyo Disneyland;
however, Oriental Land Co. owns and operates the amusement park.
Tokyo Disneyland was built on the reclaimed land in the Tokyo bay area and was
predominantly designed after the Walt Disney World resortin Orlando, Florida. It was
marketed that it was a 100% replica of the American Disneyland, which also
encompassed selling only American food and Disney products inside the park. OLC
s objective was to create the feeling that visitors would be taking a foreign vacation

College Vs. High School
Coming into English 102 I assumed it would be extremely easy and it would be
similar to high school English. This was correct, it consistent mainly of writing
papers and a few assignments where we had to read something then write about it.
As a result of this I believe I did not take the course as serious as I needed to.
However along the way I learned multiple useful concepts that will be beneficial to
my continuance of college.
College and high school are not as different as people make them seem, the only
difference is I am paying for one and not the other. With both being similar I
maintained bad habits I had in high school such as procrastinating, incorrect form
use, lack of proofreading and using resources available for my benefit. A great
example of this was my college English class. Throughout the semester we were
given multiple assignments to which I waited tilt the night before or the week before
to complete. This was the first habit I needed to break.
Waiting to the last minute to write my English papers is one of my big regrets form
this semester. I learned it is tiresome and when a person rushes on a paper it is more
likely to sound like their rushing on a paper. My papers consisted of misplaced
words, grimace errors, tense errors, and unorganized flow. As I continued to go
through this class I learned writing my paper ahead of time would make it sound
much better. Each and every time I procrastinated I forgot to proofread.

commonly referred to as The Arabian Nights, is a collection of tales from the
Middle East that were told orally over the course of many centuries before being
recorded. The Arabian Nights contained stories about many subjects, among them
being love, magic, and wealth. One of the most interesting prospects of the
collection is the role that women play in them. In the today s world, women are
portrayed differently all over the globe. In the tales, the presentations of these
women vary greatly. There is a direct link to the ladies in The Arabian Nights and
what a culture expects a womanto be like. Three common characteristics of a woman

Essay On Holocaust Survivors
Although Holocaust survivors suffer greatly due to their experience during the
Holocaust, their children may suffer just as much. Survivors children were often
overexposed to their parent s trauma which in turn traumatized their children. On the
other hand, some children were left in the dark about their parent s experience, which
added to the culture of silence that plagued many Holocaust survivors. Not only
Holocaust survivors suffer from PTSD, but also their children. The second
generations parent s physiological impairments caused their children to suffer from
PTSD like symptoms. Holocaust Survivors often suffer from PTSD like symptoms
such as Experiencing flashbacks, nightmares, intrusive thoughts, avoidance, evading
the reminders of the traumatic events, feeling emotionally numb, jumpines,
susceptibility to stress, mood swings (including depression),
irritability, hypervigilance and many more. When survivors arrived in America, many

Due to their severe mental scarring, the first generation were unable to raise a child
properly or able to give them a loving nurturing home life. This obviously
negatively affected the children in many ways. Children in survivor homes were
also often overvalued and their parents expectations were often far greater than the
children abilities. Many survivors hoped for their children to accomplish more than
what one person could, to make up for all the people who did not have the chance to
fully live their lives. This made those children struggle with their self worth and their
views about their ability to be

nationalized the British run oil fields, denying Britain control of Iran s hugely
lucrative oil infrastructure. The operation included the use of techniques such as;

British leaders would not concede anything but the remainder of the status quo,
and Iran wanted nothing but nationalization. A British attempt to calm down the
nationalist feelings in the Majlis, the Iranian congress, and their demand to revoke

Essay on Army Drawdown
THE ARMY RESTRUCTURING PLAN 2
Abstract
The U.S. Army plans on cutting 80,000 soldiers by 2013. This will be done by
cutting the number of combat brigades from 45 to as low as 32. This restructuring
comes as the Pentagon works on its 2013 fiscal year budget, which much reflect
$260 billion in savings over the next five years. On January 26, 2012 senior DOD
leaders released a new defense strategy, this is based on the current budget
constraints. This new strategy will focus on a smaller, leaner military that is agile,
flexible, rapidly deployable, and more technologically advanced (Feikert Henning

Military personnel will still see a raise of 1.7%, but retirees will be hit with
increases in health care fees, deductibles and co pays. This will be a burden of
retirees who are under 65 and have another job, also the one s who make more
money. Chairman of the House Armed Service Committee Buck McKeon, warned
that steep cuts to the military funding are ill advised because of the potential for
future conflicts that cannot be foreseen (Jaffe, 2012). Going back to past wars, the
military lowered it s numbers after each one and was not ready for the attacks that
happened in the future. The Defense budget has been subject to large cuts in
funding which is know as the sequester, this was the result of the super committee
failure to reach an agreement last summer. That was when the freeze was on the
military pay for a month. Many officials believe the cuts by Obama are way too
early. With all the draw down and cutting back they are asking the military to
constantly do more with less. The military is looking to come up with the right
joint force. The Army grew during the past ten years, they were in need of soldiers
and did mass recruiting. Now that the wars are drawing down it seems like they are
just dumping these soldiers on the sideline s. They do not realize what these soldiers

Character Analysis Of Linda Loman In Death Of A
Salesman
One of the main characters in the play, Death of a Salesman, is Linda Loman.
Linda Loman faces many difficulties in this play, one of which is being part an
affair she was unaware of. In the play, there are many sides to one story, and there
are many stories with many sides. Death of a Salesman can be portrayed in an array
of ways, depending on the form of literary criticism used.
Linda Loman is the mother of Biff and Happy. Her husband is Willy Loman. Her
character is viewed as the protagonist. The true colors of Mrs. Loman come out as
the play progresses. The characteristics of the pathological dynamics of the Loman
family (Cohen) are also played out.
Her son, Biff sees her as a strong woman. Biff doesn t think Linda needs Willy in
her life. Biff thinks Willy holds the family back. He s got no character Charley
wouldn t do this. Not in his own house spewing out that vomit from his mind (Miller
38). Woman are thought to be dependent on men. The way Biff, her oldest son, views
her is different than society views her.
Happy sees Linda as a sweet woman who thrives. He thinks she can do no wrong.
Happy views her as the perfect housewife. He thinks she can do anything for him
and that if he wants something, she ll make it happen. Hey, what re you doing up?
Where s Pop? Is he sleeping? We met two girls, Mom, very fine types. Here we

The Impact Of Innovation On Nursing Education Essay
The impact of innovation in nursing education is essential in order to provide
competent nurses during the nursing shortage. Upon review of Craven Community
College s curriculum (CCC), it was noted that peer mentoring could be utilized in
order to decrease anxiety and increase confidence in nursing students. Peer mentoring
has been defined as a planned relationship between a more experienced person and a
less experienced person with the purpose of achieving identified outcomes. In a peer
mentoring relationship, the mentor and mentee are similar in terms of age and status
(Hunt Ellison, 2010). This relationship could foster collaboration and a spirit of
inquiry. It is consistent with the situated learningtheory and provides opportunities to
develop teamwork and collaboration strategies (Botma, Hurter Kotze, 2012). There
are benefits for the mentee as well as the mentor. Upon literature review, it was noted
that effective mentoring can contribute toward a positive learning environment and
valuable learning experiences (Botma, Hurter Kotze, 2012). A long standing concern
among nursing faculty has been the large number of students that a clinical faculty
member is responsible for during a clinical experience and faculty time for adequate
supervision and attention (Bagnardi, 2011). Peer mentoring is a strategy that has
been used in the clinical setting. A major role of the mentor is to assist and
encourage students to link theory to practice in a practical setting
William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet
William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet
In Romeo and Juliet, love is depicted in several ways. Both Luhrman and
Shakespeare represent love in different ways in different contexts to both the
Elizabethan era and the contemporary audience. Both the original and later
manifestations of the text are valued because they both communicate to the audience
on the values of love and society by employing a variety of devices.
The central subject dealt within Romeo and Juliet is the subject of love. William
Shakespeare and Baz Luhrman thus represent love to their audience beyond the
distinct ideas of love as simple sentiments. In the play, there are 2 basic levels the
real world of Verona and the private, intimate sphere of Romeo and... Show more

This also reveals to the audience an empathy that the two star crossed lovers were
made fore each other. Luhrman achieves this via the use of smitten, longing looks,
the close up shots, and the music of Des ree (Kissing You).
Through Scene 5, Romeo continues to show himself as a hopeless romantic
besotted with beautiful girls. His language indicates that he thinks of love and
commitment in terms of sight: Did my heart love till now? Forswear it sight! For I
ne er saw true beauty till this night , as he says at his first glimpse of Juliet. This
statement recalls Scene 2, in which he spoke of the devout religion of mine eye
and said that if his eyes were heretical enough o consider another girl more
beautiful than his Rosaline, his tears would turn to fire and burn at stake. However,
as soon as he lays his eyes on Juliet, his devotion to the apparently less beautiful
Rosaline disappears and a new religion is found for Romeo.
Shakespeare thus portrays Romeo and his love as an infatuation. This infatuation is
evident in how instantaneously Romeo falls out of love with Rosaline and into love
with Juliet. At one stage, Rosaline was the precious treasure of his eyesight , yet
Romeo s embodiment of perfection was, a few scenes later, his notion of
defectiveness. This therefore reveals to the audience the instantaneous and reckless
path of the two lovers, as well as the fickleness of adolescent love , diminishing at the

Abraham Lincoln s Second Debate
In the effort to secure their own appointments to the U.S. Senate, Abraham Lincoln
and Stephen Douglas squared off in a series of seven debates in 1858. In the 1850s,
America was facing a political crisis, and slavery was threatening to tear the nation
apart. There were seven debates that took place between Abraham Lincolnand
Stephen Douglas. The two candidates for Senate challenged the other s ideas about
many topics but the most import was, slavery and its future in the United States.
Before the first debate took place, Abraham Lincoln addressed a crowd in Chicago,
which is known famously as the House Divided Speech. In his speech, Lincoln
attacked the doctrine of popular sovereignty. He said that it had clearly failed in its

From August 21 until October 15, Stephen Douglas battled Abraham Lincoln in
face to face debates all around the state. The prize they sought to win was a seat in
the Senate. The debates were to be held at 7 locations throughout Illinois. During
the debates, Douglas still advocated popular sovereignty, which meant to maintain
the right of the citizens of a territory to permit or prohibit slavery. It was, a sacred
right of self government, or so he said. Lincoln proceeded to point out that Douglas
s position directly challenged the Dred Scott decision. This in which decreed that the
citizens of a territory had no such power. In what became known as the Freeport
Doctrine. Douglas replied that whatever the Supreme Court decided was not as
important as the actions of the citizens. If a territory refused to have slavery, no laws,
no Supreme Court ruling, would force them to permit it. Over and over again,
Lincoln made that point that a house divided could not stand. Douglas refuted this by
saying that the founders, left each state perfectly free to do as it pleased on the
subject. Lincoln felt that blacks were entitled to the rights enumerated in the
Declaration of Independence, which include life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Douglas argued that the founders

Organized Crime and Youth Gangs
Organized Crime and Youth Gangs
The FBI defines organized crime as any group of individuals jointly and
systematically engaged in criminal activity for the purpose of making money (FBI,
n.d.a). The FBI also provides links to various organized criminal groups on their
website, with most being defined by race or ethnicity. The most famous of these
groups in the United States is the Italian Mafia or La Cosa Nostra, which is
translated as this thing of ours (FBI, n.d.b).
The FBI identifies four distinct Italian mafia groups, the La Cosa Nostra (Sicilian
Mafia), Camorra (Neapolitan Mafia), Calabrian (Calabria Mafia), and the Sacra
Corona Unita (United Sacred Crown based in the Puglia region) (FBI, n.d.b). Of
these, the American La Cosa Nostra has been the most successful organized crime
group in the U.S. and over the decades has severed controlling ties with Sicily. The
American La Cosa Nostra is involved primarily in drug trafficking, money laundering,
and various other racketeering crimes, and operates on an international level across
North and South America.
The Italian Mafia was formed and molded into its current form over the past 3,000
years in response to recurrent invasions by marauding armies (FBI, n.d.b). The
formation of these tight knit extended family groups helped ensure their survival and
established social rules that endured through the millennia. Today, there are
approximately 25,000 members worldwide, with 3,000 living in the U.S.

Phuong Symbolism
In the book The Quiet American Phoung, the beautiful Vietnamese girl caught in a
love triangle with an American spy and a war correspondent, is seen as a commodity,
something to be bartered, without actually taking her feelings into consideration. She
is treated as a delicate victim who needs saving by the men in the book but although it
seems like Greene is portraying Phuong as nothing more than an object, he means for
her to represent much more than that. Greene s portrayal of Phuong as an object
represents the treatment of the Vietnamese peoplein the hands of the Americans. She
is meant to be symbolic of her country, both men, American and British wantto
possess her, much like the war raging in Vietnam.
Phuong is treated like an object to be won by the men in The Quiet American. Both
Fowler and Pyle fight for her affections, without truly understanding her. Pyle sees
Phuong as being an innocent, delicate victim that needs to be saved from Fowler
who he believes is taking her for granted. That night I woke from one of those short
deep opium sleeps, ten minutes long, that seem a whole night s rest, and found my

Jones Department Store
I think Amy classifies the shift leaders at Jones Department Store as exempt,
because of the Fair Labor Standard Act. According to the FLSA, an employee is
exempt if the employee is in charge of a department or subdivision of the enterprise
(such as a shift) (n.d., para. 15). For instance, a shift leader working at Taco Bell
may spend most of his or her time assisting customers and cashiering. However, he
or she is still considered the boss even if he or she is not actually actively engaged
with his or her managerial duties (FLSA, n.d.). Therefore, even though Jane may
work most of her time assisting customers and cashiering she s still the one who
makes the managerial decisions during her shift. For instance, she s the one who
approves refunds... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Alexander Hamilton Institute, the Fair Labor Standard Act say s an
employee is considered exempt if he or she meets the criteria s pertaining to the
duties test. The duties test criteria include managing a customarily recognized
department or subdivision of the enterprise, customarily and regularly direct the
work of at least two or more other full time employees or their equivalent, and the
authority to hire or fire other employees, or the employee s suggestions and
recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other
change of status of other employees must be given particular weight (2016, para. 6).
Therefore, the shift leaders at Jones Department Store are considered exempt
because they assign other associates at the store to work different areas when
needed, which is one of the criteria s pertaining to the duties test. The second
advantage that causes shift leaders at Jones Department Store to be exempt from
overtime pay is that they get to sit in on employment interviews, and typically are
aware of employee terminations before the employee is fired (Martocchio, 2013,
Complete Section). According to Alexander Hamilton Institute, if you get to help
make the decision as to hire or fire someone, which shift leaders do at Jones
Department Store, then you
The Drastic Transformation Of Macbeth And Lady Macbeth

The Drastic Transformation of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth
Throughout William Shakespeare s tragedy Macbeth, the characters of Macbeth and
Lady Macbeth develop profoundly differently over the course of the play. Macbeth s
character transforms from a noble hero to an ambitious, blood thirsty murderer. When
Macbeth is on the battlefield, he is heroic and brave by defeating the traitors of
King Duncan and the Norwegian Army, and he is crowned as Thane of Cawdor.
Later in the play, Macbeth cold heartedly murders his King, a woman and her
children, and his own beloved friend. This illustrates Macbeth s drastic
transformation from a hero to a murderer. On the contrary, Lady Macbeth changes
from a manipulative, ruthless wife, and an accomplice to murder, into a guilt ridden,
and a paranoid madwoman who commits suicide. When Lady Macbeth and her
husband are quarrelling, she insults her husband s manliness to make him commit the
murder of Duncan. Later in the play, Lady Macbeth deeply suffers from her guilt,
that she becomes mad. Lady Macbeth constantly sleepwalks and washes her hands of
the imaginary blood of her husband s victims and of her ambition. It is evident that
over the course of Shakespeare s tragedy Macbeth, Lady Macbeth and Macbeth
develop profoundly differently throughout the play.
Shakespeare utilizes various dramatic devices throughout Macbeth to show the
audience a character s inner and personal thoughts.

This is the time when confusion comes in. A strict form allows you to target only
specific muscles at the same time in reducing the possibility of muscle injuries. You
will not be able to lift heavy weights using this form. As many beginners are say
when you cannot lift heavy weights, it also decreases the intensity level.
On the other hand, sloppy form will allow you to use heavier weights, but at the

A Twisted Hero Definition
A twisted hero is someone who demonstrates great leadership skills, manipulation
tactics, and can lead a group of people to success, but does it in a warped or
unethical manner. This is because someone who is twisted is, by definition, warped
or has an unhealthy way of thinking. However, a hero is defined as a person who is
admired or idealized for their courage, noble qualities, and outstanding achievements.
They are perceived as mighty protectors and great leaders who can do amazing acts.
They can bring success and wealth to people, and lead them towards prosperity. When
these terms, twisted and hero, are combined, it gives us the base definitionof a twisted
hero. There are two categories that define a hero, which are traditional heroes and
twisted heroes. A traditional hero and twisted hero are seen as the same by some
people, but when compared to a traditional hero, a twisted hero has few similarities
and many differences. Most traditional heroes are the good guys; they fight for and
protect what is right. In comparison, a twisted hero fights for what he or she thinks
is right, and disregards the safety or feelings of others. Traditional heroes are also
often revered for their courage, achievements, and noble qualities. They are looked
up to by others and can be idolized or admired by the greater public. In the case of a
twisted hero, they are looked up to but not for the same reasons. Twisted heroes are
looked up to out of fear and because their power demands it,

Emotive Language In The Wonderful Adventures Of Mary

The Wonderful Adventures of Mary Seacole Back in 1853, people were suffering
from a sickness that rocked everybody, due to the sever effects it had. Mary
Seacole, who recruited herself back to Jamaica, after being absent for eight
months, in order to help the people suffering from the disease, yellow fever. In the
text she vividly explained how things were like back in that year, and how people
were coping with a disease so violent to their bodies. Using emotive language
throughout the text she brought a deeper meaning that divulged the whole text
into a deeper perspective. People in Jamaica were infected by the yellow fever, as it
had effected a large amount of the population, people were becoming weaker and

that she had felt during the situation at the time, expressing that the young surgeon

arises from the use of emotive language, seeing as she shared most of her emotions,

These studies are designed to be played with rapid speed depending on the abilities
of the performer. By design Nagel s book is more harmonically complex than other
technical studies that are focused around improving finger dexterity. This is the
author s attempt to prepare today s performers for more complex modern music.
These studies vary in range and require the performer to have the ability of moving
low to high with ease. These studies by Nagel should be approach by advanced
trumpet who have these capabilities.
Reynold, V. 48 Etudes for Trumpet.
48 Etudes for Trumpet by Verne Reynold is a collection etudes centered around
intervallic studies. Reynold s etude book was originally written for the horn and
later adapted for the trumpet. This book begins with the study of playing half step
intervals and each proceeding etude expands from there ending at the octave studies.
Also, these studies use a wide variety of articulation that can be challenging for the
performer. Reynolds also uses these etudes to study playing in the upper and lower
register with large leaps. Due to these difficulty this should be used for more advance
trumpet players.

Inside Out Psychology
An Outside in Look of the Film Inside Out
Responsible for the film Inside Out, Pete Doctor focuses on the inner workings and
psychology of the human mind. The film focuses on a story of young eleven year
old Riley and then creates a deeper focus on the five common emotions: Joy, sadness,
fear, disgust, and anger, through her. Joy, the leader, is the first emotionto appear in a
headquarters like office, in which case that office is Riley s mind. As Riley grows up,
she experiences these emotions and for every emotion, there is a memory created
and color coded by one of the five emotions. After each day, when Riley falls into
REM sleep, each moment created is sent to a place called long term memories.
Unique and very rare emotions create Riley s personality and is sent into a small
cubicle that holds core memories. As the story continues, Joy and Sadness are
accidentally sucked out of the headquarters along with all the core memories and is
placed with the long term memories which results in Fear, Anger, and Disgust
controlling Riley s emotions while Joy and Sadness go on this obstacle filled
adventure to find their way back. With this rhetorical analysis, my intentions are to

Emily Dickinson s My Life Had Stood a Loaded Gun Essay
The primary literary strategy in Emily Dickinson s My Life Had Stood a Loaded
Gun , is a metaphor of a gun and its master which is used to represent a wife and her
husband. This metaphor is used to illustrate an unbalanced relationship where the
wife is objectified and lacks agency. The wife reduced to an object which is at the
disposal of her hunter/master/husband.
The gun narrates the poem and it takes pleasure in expressing its power to kill. The
poem presents the challenge of identifying who the speaker is and who the gun
metaphorically represents (Forman). To help solve this riddle, Angela Estes asks, For
whom in the nineteenth century would pleasure and power be problematic should
they be expressed? . A female speaker is the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The poem describes the hunter/husband and gun/wife lives together as they roam the
woods and hunt doe. The gun/wife propels her husband to loftier heights with her
power (Palmerino). In contrast to her life prior life in the corners where she sat
unnoticed, when the gun/wife now speaks The Mountains straight reply . In other
words, when the gun is fired there is a echo. Now she can be heard and her power
can be felt. She has an effect on her surroundings. This can allude to how as a
married women, the wife now has a higher social status and is more likely to be
taken seriously and listened to. In the fifth section, the gun comes to the peak of
her power and sounds like she has autonomous agency, or as Vendler describes it,
the gun takes a grammatically independent action (319). The speaker says that I lay
a Yellow Eye as if she is doing something on her own. However, guns cannot kill
people; they cannot pull their own trigger. In this gun/master metaphor, the wife/gun
is an object entirely reliant on other people to give direction and purpose in her
existence. Therefore, the action is only seemingly independent and is perhaps a sign
a wishful thinking on the gun/wife s part to not view herself as dependent. When the
wife/gun does seem to realize how dependent she is, she becomes almost frantic. She
says the hunter/husband must live long than her because I have the power to kill,

The Quantity Theory Of Money
2.3 Quantity Theory of Money in the Early Twentieth Century
The classical (e.g. Adam Smith, David Hume, David Ricardo, and John Stuart Mill)
and the neoclassical schools (e.g. Alfred Marshall, A. C. Pigou, Irving Fisher ) state
that inflation is a monetary phenomena (Snowdon and Vane, 2005). According to
Classicists, volume of money determines the price level in the economy that operates
with full employment and relative prices are determined by demand for and supply
of real goods. These economists developed the monetary theory which can be taken
as the analytical approach to explain the economic role of money. In course of
explaining the economic role of money Irving Fisher, the classical economist
formulated the equation of exchange associated with the quantity theory of money.
The equation of exchange can be represented as follows: = (2.1) where M is the
amount of currency in the economy during a given year, V is the velocity of
circulation of money, M is the volume of demand deposit in the economy during
the year, V is the velocity of circulation of demand deposits, and is the sum of (i)
the average price, P, of a commodity purchased in the economy during the given year
multiplied by the quantity, Q ,of it purchased, (ii) the average price, , P of another

  • 5. Why I Play Basketball Why I Play Basketball Basketball. A great game that was originated in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1891. Basketball was created by a canadian gym coach who used peach baskets when it was raining and snowing outside. Now the sport is played all over the world. One of the most popular sports in the world, and I hated it. I hated this God given sport, until 4 years ago. When something great happened to me on April 17 2010 I turned my perspective on basketball. I really hated basketball from the beginning but then I changed throughout the way. When I was really young around 4 10 I really loved soccer because it required endurance, speed, and it was really fun to play. And from that time I really didn t like basketball. I thought that this sport was the epitome to the league of sports. I thought that tennis was way better at the time. And I wasn t a big fan of tennis. But I really didn t like the sport at all. I was athletically gifted at the sport, like most other sports. I had the fundamentals from my father, and he tried to convince me to play, but I still refused to associate myself with basketball. I even disliked to watch basketball I would refuse to play with my siblings. And all that I encouraged other people to play was soccer. The reason that I loved soccer was because my first gift was a soccer ball. Since that time I was infatuated with soccer. I played it in my backyard and in the park. I never stopped playing for anything even when it was dark like 9 o clock
  • 6. Hand Hygiene For The Health And Mortality Of Their Patients Hand decontamination is the use of hand wash or alcohol rub that reduces the number of bacteria on the hands. Hand decontamination is also referred to as hand hygiene . Hand Hygiene is an integral part of nursing care, as effectively decontaminating hands significantly reduces the risk of pathogens being transferred from one surface to another, or from person to person (NICE, 2014). This means, that through practicing good hand hygiene, nurses can actively reduce the incidences of preventable healthcare associated infections, therefore improving the health and mortality of their patients. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE, 2012) guidelines state that misconceptions about hand hygiene in relation to infection control are still being reported and that effective hand decontamination is still not collectively practiced, despite a vast improvement in recent years. This means that although many execute good practice, there are still healthcare workers who are putting patients at risk by not following the recommended procedure. NICE (NICE, 2012) guidelines for prevention and control of healthcare associated infections also state that hands must be sanitised at the point immediately before any direct contact with patients, immediately after the episode of care, immediately after exposure to bodily fluids, immediately after any contact with patient s surroundings that could potentially result in contamination and immediately after the removal of gloves,
  • 7. Essay on The Investigation of William McGuire s Murder On April 28, 2004, after closing on his dream house, William McGuire was brutally murdered. His body was severed into three pieces, placed into three matching Kenneth Cole suitcases and then dumped in the Chesapeake Bay. The investigation of his murder would span three years, involve two different investigative teams and end in the conviction of his wife, Melanie McGuire, based on circumstantial evidence (Glatt, 2008). The discovery of this crime began as a fishing trip for Chris Henkle, Dee Connors and his two children Sam and Claire on May 5, 2004. While relocating the boat to find better fishing, Connor spotted a suitcase floating in the water. As young Sam opened the suitcase hoping it contained pirate s treasure, he found its... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A second Kenneth Cole suitcase was found on May 11 by a girl picking up litter on the Fisherman Island Bird sanctuary. Upon opening the suitcase, the girl saw a human shoulder and was overwhelmed by the smell of rotting flesh. Once again, Virginia Beach Homicide Detectives Dr. Gray and Beth Dunton arrived on scene. The suitcase was photographed then the body parts taken for an autopsy. Inside this suitcase Dr. Wendy Gunther found the head, torso and arms of a white male inside black plastic trash bags just like the first suitcase. The man had been shot three times: once in the head, once in the back and once in the abdomen. These gunshot wounds were designated as the cause of death. Gunther also documented that the victim s head was covered by a bloodstained blanket that read property of HCSC. While performing the autopsy, Dr. Gunther found a bullet in the waist area that he saved to be tested for ballistics at a later date (Glatt, 2008). Due to the missing section of the body, everyone knew there must be a third suitcase waiting to be discovered. The third Kenneth Cole suitcase was found floating off the Bridge Tunnel s second island on May 16 by Carl and Linda Stevens. The same procedures that were used to document and examine the other two suitcases were repeated. Dunton again tested the trash bags for fingerprints, but none were found. This suitcase contained the midsection of a white
  • 8. Epilepsy Brain Disorder Introduction Epilepsy is a brain disorder classified as a neurological disorder that affects the brain s electrical and immoderate activity which causes a person to have a seizure. This brain disorder goes back thousands of years to Ancient Greece where these individuals believed that people had seizures, they were being visited by an evil spirit or demon. The word Epilepsy also derives from the ancient Greek word attack. Ancient Greeks also thought that this neurological disorder, Epilepsy, was infectious and for this same matter most of the people that suffered from this disorder lived alone. The History Of Thelonious Monk Birdland, the famous New York jazz club located in the crowded Times Square, filled its ample room with a new quartet of veteran musicians who proclaimed themselves The Jazz Masters. If we take a look at its members Dave Liebman on tenor and soprano saxophones, John Abercrombie on guitar, Steve Swallow on electric bass, and Joey Baron on drums we immediately conclude that the name couldn t be more appropriate since they ve been marking the history of jazz with their indelible paths and extensive discographies of exceptional quality. For these sessions they played some of the most remarkable compositions of Thelonious Monk, starting with Bye Ya , which pulsed with its swinging, Latin feel energy. • 10. The Boeing 7e7 Objectives The objectives of The Boeing 7E7 case study is to seek the answer for the project question. Why is Boeing contemplating the launch of the 7E7 project? Is this the good time to do so? How would we know if the 7E7 project will create value? How to estimate the WACC? Is there anything else the board of directors should consider in assessing the financial appeal of this project? Why might the board vote yes on the 7E7, when the cost of capital estimate is greater than the IRR? Why might the board vote no if the cost of capital is less than the IRR? What should the board do? Introduction Ultimately Boeing needs to determine if the project will be profitable and if it will have positive cash flows in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Airbus, the market leader, produced planes to serve the short, medium and extended range routes. Analysts believe that Airbus seemed to be more bullish on the future of the large aircraft market leaving Boeing an opportunity to gain back market share in the mid size market, assuming that Airbus did not pursue the mid range segment with a competing product. Boeing had a drop in commercial airplanes delivered from 527 in 2001 to 381 in 2002 and needed this project to keep them in the hunt with Airbus. The board will also have to consider the decades it may take to recoup the costs of starting this project. Development costs in the airline industry are substantial leading to many years of negative cash flows. The introduction of a new plane is a make or break activity for the producers and requires huge financing capabilities. The development costs and per copy costs were difficult to predict, and Boeing also faced engineering uncertainty with the project. The success of the project depends heavily on Boeing s ability to keep the production costs low and actually deliver a more efficient aircraft than the competition. Yes this is the good time for Boeing to launch their new aircraft. At this time, the price of raw materials are very cheap caused by unexpected disasters. Although there s no demand at this moment, but they can still continue making the aircraft. The further information will describe how Boeing can continue
  • 11. Dunstan Ramsay Fifth Business Quotes Dunstan Ramsay is Fifth Business The novel Fifth Business by Robertson Davies is a fictional autobiography of the narrator, Dunstan Ramsay. Dunstan outlines his life experiences and pays special attention to saints and religion, both of which interest him. Although the story is about Dunstan, he seems to have a supporting role in the lives of others. In this book, Dunstan Ramsay is referred to as: Fifth Business because he is the one who knows the secret of the hero s birth, or comes to the assistance of the heroine when she thinks all is lost, or keeps the hermitess in her cell, or may even be the cause of somebody s death if that is part of the plot. Definition Of Defining Needs Assessment Essay Defining Needs Assessment A needs assessment process is used by organizations to regulate priorities and make enhancements, or distribution of resources within the organization. The process includes determining the needs between the organizations future and current states and how to improve (Noe, 2017). The needs assessment is a development plan of actions which needs to be addressed to close the gaps within the organization for its future desired state (Noe, 2017). There are several steps to completing the assessment effectively. First, the company must explore and identify where the organization has needs, there may be a need for new technology, more resources, more or less employees, relocation or expansion. Learning the current state in comparison to where they want to be can be very important (BLR, 2016). Secondly, the company must gather data and analysis. Collecting information to understand the gaps between current and future status can be done using internal records, or external surveys. They can also use secondary data collected by the government (BLR, 2016). The next step is to Utilize the data collected to create an action plan and implement it. The Colonist felt since they had no representation in the British parliament, they owed nothing. When no agreement could be reached a revolution was inevitable (Joes, 1996). Another cause of the American Revolution was the desire of the colonists to have freedom of religion and the determination of England that the colonist must remain true to the Church of England. Puritans, a religious group who came to the colonies seeking freedom of religion, wanted to remain a part of the Church of England, but develop their own style of worship. Another more radical religious group, Separatists, wanted a complete break from the Church of England. The goal of both of both the Puritans and the Separatists was to have the freedom to express religious beliefs without fear of persecution by the church or government. While constituents of an ethnic group take part in an identity founded on a mutual characteristic or opinion, their ethnic attributes (such as language, race, religion) are normally not all the same, and if they are, these characteristics independently are not distinct to that group. The Bible tells us while Jesus has ascended above and is seated at the right hand of the Father, the Holy Spirit dwells in believers here ( Matthew 22:44, Psalm 101:1, Acts 1:5, John 14:17). It is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that allows believers to see the truth, and perceive the Spirit himself He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. Chairman of the House Armed Service Committee Buck McKeon, warned that steep cuts to the military funding are ill advised because of the potential for future conflicts that cannot be foreseen (Jaffe, 2012). Going back to past wars, the military lowered it s numbers after each one and was not ready for the attacks that happened in the future. The Defense budget has been subject to large cuts in funding which is know as the sequester, this was the result of the super committee failure to reach an agreement last summer. Linda Loman faces many difficulties in this play, one of which is being part an affair she was unaware of. In the play, there are many sides to one story, and there are many stories with many sides. Death of a Salesman can be portrayed in an array of ways, depending on the form of literary criticism used. Linda Loman is the mother of Biff and Happy. Her husband is Willy Loman. Her character is viewed as the protagonist. The true colors of Mrs. Loman come out as the play progresses. The characteristics of the pathological dynamics of the Loman family (Cohen) are also played out. Her son, Biff sees her as a strong woman. Biff doesn t think Linda needs Willy in her life. Biff thinks Willy holds the family back. He s got no character Charley wouldn t do this. Not in his own house spewing out that vomit from his mind (Miller 38). Upon review of Craven Community College s curriculum (CCC), it was noted that peer mentoring could be utilized in order to decrease anxiety and increase confidence in nursing students. Peer mentoring has been defined as a planned relationship between a more experienced person and a less experienced person with the purpose of achieving identified outcomes. In a peer mentoring relationship, the mentor and mentee are similar in terms of age and status (Hunt Ellison, 2010). This relationship could foster collaboration and a spirit of inquiry. It is consistent with the situated learningtheory and provides opportunities to develop teamwork and collaboration strategies (Botma, Hurter Kotze, 2012). There are benefits for the mentee as well as the mentor. Upon literature review, it was noted that effective mentoring can contribute toward a positive learning environment and valuable learning experiences (Botma, Hurter Kotze, 2012). A long standing concern among nursing faculty has been the large number of students that a clinical faculty member is responsible for during a clinical experience and faculty time for adequate supervision and attention (Bagnardi, 2011). Peer mentoring is a strategy that has been used in the clinical setting. A major role of the mentor is to assist and encourage students to link theory to practice in a practical setting
  • 34. William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet In Romeo and Juliet, love is depicted in several ways. Both Luhrman and Shakespeare represent love in different ways in different contexts to both the Elizabethan era and the contemporary audience. Both the original and later manifestations of the text are valued because they both communicate to the audience on the values of love and society by employing a variety of devices. The central subject dealt within Romeo and Juliet is the subject of love. William Shakespeare and Baz Luhrman thus represent love to their audience beyond the distinct ideas of love as simple sentiments. In the play, there are 2 basic levels the real world of Verona and the private, intimate sphere of Romeo and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This also reveals to the audience an empathy that the two star crossed lovers were made fore each other. Luhrman achieves this via the use of smitten, longing looks, the close up shots, and the music of Des ree (Kissing You). Through Scene 5, Romeo continues to show himself as a hopeless romantic besotted with beautiful girls. His language indicates that he thinks of love and commitment in terms of sight: Did my heart love till now? Forswear it sight! For I ne er saw true beauty till this night , as he says at his first glimpse of Juliet. This statement recalls Scene 2, in which he spoke of the devout religion of mine eye and said that if his eyes were heretical enough o consider another girl more beautiful than his Rosaline, his tears would turn to fire and burn at stake. However, as soon as he lays his eyes on Juliet, his devotion to the apparently less beautiful Rosaline disappears and a new religion is found for Romeo. Shakespeare thus portrays Romeo and his love as an infatuation. This infatuation is evident in how instantaneously Romeo falls out of love with Rosaline and into love with Juliet. At one stage, Rosaline was the precious treasure of his eyesight , yet Romeo s embodiment of perfection was, a few scenes later, his notion of defectiveness. This therefore reveals to the audience the instantaneous and reckless path of the two lovers, as well as the fickleness of adolescent love , diminishing at the sight of

It was, a sacred right of self government, or so he said. Lincoln proceeded to point out that Douglas s position directly challenged the Dred Scott decision. This in which decreed that the citizens of a territory had no such power. In what became known as the Freeport Doctrine. Douglas replied that whatever the Supreme Court decided was not as important as the actions of the citizens. If a territory refused to have slavery, no laws, no Supreme Court ruling, would force them to permit it. Over and over again, Lincoln made that point that a house divided could not stand. The Drastic Transformation Of Macbeth And Lady Macbeth Jeongkyu Park Ms. Kochanski English 30S 27 November 2017 The Drastic Transformation of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth Throughout William Shakespeare s tragedy Macbeth, the characters of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth develop profoundly differently over the course of the play. Macbeth s character transforms from a noble hero to an ambitious, blood thirsty murderer. When Macbeth is on the battlefield, he is heroic and brave by defeating the traitors of King Duncan and the Norwegian Army, and he is crowned as Thane of Cawdor. Later in the play, Macbeth cold heartedly murders his King, a woman and her children, and his own beloved friend. This illustrates Macbeth s drastic transformation from a hero to a murderer. On the contrary, Lady Macbeth changes from a manipulative, ruthless wife, and an accomplice to murder, into a guilt ridden, and a paranoid madwoman who commits suicide. When Lady Macbeth and her husband are quarrelling, she insults her husband s manliness to make him commit the murder of Duncan. Later in the play, Lady Macbeth deeply suffers from her guilt, that she becomes mad. Lady Macbeth constantly sleepwalks and washes her hands of the imaginary blood of her husband s victims and of her ambition. It is evident that over the course of Shakespeare s tragedy Macbeth, Lady Macbeth and Macbeth develop profoundly differently throughout the play. The film focuses on a story of young eleven year old Riley and then creates a deeper focus on the five common emotions: Joy, sadness, fear, disgust, and anger, through her. Joy, the leader, is the first emotionto appear in a headquarters like office, in which case that office is Riley s mind. As Riley grows up, she experiences these emotions and for every emotion, there is a memory created and color coded by one of the five emotions. After each day, when Riley falls into REM sleep, each moment created is sent to a place called long term memories. Unique and very rare emotions create Riley s personality and is sent into a small cubicle that holds core memories. As the story continues, Joy and Sadness are accidentally sucked out of the headquarters along with all the core memories and is placed with the long term memories which results in Fear, Anger, and Disgust controlling Riley s emotions while Joy and Sadness go on this obstacle filled adventure to find their way back. Emily Dickinson s My Life Had Stood a Loaded Gun Essay The primary literary strategy in Emily Dickinson s My Life Had Stood a Loaded Gun , is a metaphor of a gun and its master which is used to represent a wife and her husband. This metaphor is used to illustrate an unbalanced relationship where the wife is objectified and lacks agency. The wife reduced to an object which is at the disposal of her hunter/master/husband. The gun narrates the poem and it takes pleasure in expressing its power to kill. The poem presents the challenge of identifying who the speaker is and who the gun metaphorically represents (Forman). To help solve this riddle, Angela Estes asks, For whom in the nineteenth century would pleasure and power be problematic should they be expressed? . A female speaker is the... This can allude to how as a married women, the wife now has a higher social status and is more likely to be taken seriously and listened to. In the fifth section, the gun comes to the peak of her power and sounds like she has autonomous agency, or as Vendler describes it, the gun takes a grammatically independent action (319). The speaker says that I lay a Yellow Eye as if she is doing something on her own. However, guns cannot kill people; they cannot pull their own trigger. In this gun/master metaphor, the wife/gun is an object entirely reliant on other people to give direction and purpose in her existence. Therefore, the action is only seemingly independent and is perhaps a sign a wishful thinking on the gun/wife s part to not view herself as dependent. When the wife/gun does seem to realize how dependent she is, she becomes almost frantic. She says the hunter/husband must live long than her because I have the power to kill, / Without
