A majority of the states do not currently have licensure, and there are no national
licensure laws either. I grew up and live in Wisconsin, which is currently not a
licensure state, but I know many people here who would rather use a Naturopathic
Physician as their primary physician rather than a conventional physician. However,
with the current laws, a Naturopathic Physician cannot be a primary physician. There
are still many wonderful Naturopaths working in Wisconsin, and I see one of those
Physicians. However, they are limited in their scope of practice because they do not
have licensure, and in most cases have to work under a licensed health professional,
which means they do not have the complete autonomy that they deserve. This can
make it hard to treat patients who need certain treatments. In addition, they are often
blocked from using certain modalities that would help the patient because they are
not licensed to use that modality. When Naturopathic Physicians are not allowed to
treat patients to the furthest extent of their abilities, the patients lose. It is important
that patients throughout the US have the opportunity to receive Naturopathic
treatment if that is what they want. The fight to gain licensure rights in all states, or a

My favorite saying in business is great people, great company, crappy people... I ll
let you fill in the blanks. It starts with a vision, your vision and your desire to make

Lord of the Flies, a novel by William Golding, is about a group of young boys that
get stranded on an island with nothing but the clothes on their backs. They are left to
survive on their own, and chaos naturally ensues. Throughout the book, Golding
presents objects that have hidden meanings that can become apparent if the reader
only looks deeper. In Lord of the Flies, the fire and Piggy s specs symbolize how
pure emotions can and will be corrupted by human nature.
The fire the boys strived to maintain throughout the book represents their hope for
rescue and the unity they require. Once Ralph is elected as leader, the first thing
he does is think of rescue. He planned a fire to be made so if any ships sailed by,
they would see the smoke. Their hope and blind faith in rescue relies on the smoke
from this fire, but the fire also relies on them. They have to work as a team to keep
the fire burning at all times. Even the smallest boys, unless fruit claimed them,
brought little pieces of wood and threw them in (41). The hope and unity the boys
display at the beginning of the book is represented by their precious fire on top of
