Crafting an essay on the subject of "Essays" presents a unique challenge, as the topic itself
encompasses a vast and intricate realm. The difficulty lies not in the scarcity of information but
in navigating the expansive landscape of this literary form. Attempting to encapsulate the
essence of essays involves delving into the historical evolution, varied types, and the underlying
principles that define this versatile genre.
As you embark on the journey of dissecting the very medium you're employing, the paradox of
self-reflection adds a layer of complexity. Analyzing the nuances of essays while simultaneously
embodying the role of the essayist requires a delicate balance between objectivity and
subjectivity. It's akin to scrutinizing a mirror that reflects both the observer and the observed.
Moreover, the challenge extends to avoiding redundancy. Given that essays are fundamentally a
tool for expressing unique perspectives, there's a constant need to bring fresh insights to the
forefront. Reconciling the paradox of self-analysis while maintaining originality can be akin to
walking a tightrope, demanding a continuous stream of innovative ideas and thoughtful
reflections.
The inherent diversity within the essay genre further complicates matters. From persuasive essays
to reflective compositions, each type necessitates a tailored approach. Striking the right chord
between eloquence and substance becomes a formidable task, requiring a keen understanding of
the specific nuances associated with different essay forms.
In essence, writing an essay on "Essays" is a cerebral exercise that demands not only a mastery of
the subject matter but also a finesse in self-expression. It is a self-reflective journey that
challenges the writer to navigate through the labyrinth of thoughts and ideas, synthesizing them
into a coherent and compelling narrative.
For those who find themselves grappling with this formidable task, seeking assistance can be a
prudent choice. Similar essays, meticulously crafted and tailored to specific requirements, can be

2. Hydrogen And Its Effects On The Environment Essay
Data from U.S. Department of Energy shows that the United State people consumes a
huge amount of petroleum and import more petroleum from other countries. The
usage of fossil fuel is releasing a huge amount of carbon dioxide into the environment,
and with the huge amount of consumption there will be a huge amount of carbon
dioxide released into the environment. Also, most of the petroleumis located in
countries that have political tension, which can affect the supply of petroleum. To
avoid this problem, we might consider different kinds of alternative fuels that can be
used for vehicles. Hydrogen is considered to be one of the most promising ones
because hydrogen it can provide an unlimited amount of resources, while petroleum
had a limited amount of consumption. There are other kinds of alternative fuels such
as Ethanol, Propane, Natural Gas, Biodiesel, and Electricity. However, using
hydrogen is one of the best option we do not have to worry about fuel shortage or
polluting the environment. This is because hydrogen can be obtained from organic
compounds. Organic compounds make up most of the gasoline, natural gas, and
propane. We can obtain hydrogens by separating hydrogen and carbon, which has to
go through the process of heating or reforming. Another way to obtain hydrogen is
through electrolysis which requires an electrical current to separate water into oxygen
and hydrogen molecules. One of the problems is that the currently require a lot of
money and effort
3. How Did Steel Change America
How Steel Changed America
By: Aiden, Landon, Michael, Sever, Trey
There is perhaps no other invention in American history quite as important as steel.
Steel is made of mostly iron, lime, and sometimes even scrap steel, but other metals
can be added to make other types of steel. While there are many types of steel today,
in industrial America, Carbon Steel was the most common form that was used. In
fact, 80 to 90 percent of the steel produced was Carbon Steel. It proved stronger than
iron and was relatively inexpensive to make. This strong, inexpensive steel
revolutionized industrial America for many reasons. New, taller buildings could be
built using new techniques of using steel to reinforce the buildings and new
inventions such as cars ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every year there is 1.3 billion tons of steel produced around the world. Steel is
made in different sizes and categorized by how good the steel is, these is called
grades and standards. Steel today is used in many things you wouldn t even think
of such as the armored vests policemen wear or jewelry. Stainless steel was
invented in 1913 by Harry Brearley when he put 12.8% chromium and .24%
carbon when the standard for steel was .12 2% carbon and 16 26% chromium.
Stainless steel is used in almost all new home appliances and in Great Britain it was
used for cars. Some buildings made with steel are the Chrysler building, the Empire
State Building, and the Sears Tower. Another building made with tons of steel is the
Burj Khalifa. It used 55,000 tons of steel to be made and at 2,717 feet it is the tallest

4. The Core Values Of Social Work
Statement of Purpose
Social work concentrates not only on the wellbeing of society, but also the welfare of
individuals, families, groups, and communities. Social work is a critical tool in
acknowledging national controversial issues such as transparency in the government
but can also address local concerns, like gang related activity within a community. It
means seeing issues affecting daily lives and taking the initiative to enact a solution.
Social work encompasses many facets such as community development, program
development, public policy, intervention, and direct one on one communication. The
core values of social work for me include the overall well being of society, social
justice for all, equality, and dignity among individuals. ... Show more content on

Not long after, they enrolled her in school and extracurricular activities. She was

even said to me one day, Ashley, I m so lucky now. I knew she was comparing her
new opportunity to her old situation. As the school year went on, she formed a
close bond with her foster brother and they even began to refer to each other as
sibling. I witnessed the familial love grow organically between the family and
Chelsea. After two years of being considered a foster child, the family was finally
able to legally adopt Chelsea. The adoption day was incredibly meaningful to the
whole family. Chelsea had a new last name and the family officially had a new
daughter/sister. Working with Chelsea and the family, completely changed my views
of the foster care and adoption system. I learned that children could grow to love
their adoptive parents as their own, and vice versa. The experience can both be
appreciative and enlightening for everyone involved.
After college, I searched for a career in which I could continue to help children.

Elliot Cook Carter, Jr. is an American classical composer. He was born on
December 11th, 1908 into a wealthy family of lace importers, in Manhattan, New
York. He became involved in music initially as a teen, and was encouraged in this

The tragic play Blood Wedding (Bodas de Sangre ) written by Federico GarcГa Lorca

with the same women . Lorca tells a story of a family vendetta that is based on a
real life crime. The use of classic themes star crossed lovers, deception are revealed

the character s tragic demise. The performance had a mix of dancing and singing

7. Sacred Texture Analysis Essay
Introduction
To explore the use of innovation and creativity in leading the early Christian
communities from insular spirituality to a global social or religious force, I am
using the method of Sacred Texture Analysis. Analysis of sacred text is a way of
systemically probing dynamics across a spectrum of relationships between the
humans and the divine (Robbins, 1996, pg.4). The sacred texture of a text is the
formation and nurturing of religious community (Robbins, 1996, pg.127). Therefore,
socio rhetorical criticism extends intertextuality to include cultural discourse (Gowler,
1999, pg.197). So the challenge is how to understand Apostle Peter s organizational
leadership and then apply these concepts to today s organizational leadership. Below
are my insights according to Bible reading and extensive research of 1 and 2 Peter. In
carrying out his mission, Peter persistently had to struggle with questions of
leadership with creativity and innovation. In a very significant sense, he had to
disconnect ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The young men are supposed to submit to their elders. Peter devotes only four
verses to the elders but only a short verse to the young men due to the level of
qualifications and or defense. The young men are supposed to submit to their
divinely appointed leaders since they need to gain wisdom and practice in defense.
Young men definitely need wisdom before going their own way when the right time
comes. Young men usually fail to appreciate the wisdom of the elderly and or wiser
in the faith. Leaders can shape opportunities and motivations for storytelling
(Branson, et al., 2011, pg.53). When young men hear how the leadership of others
has influenced them and their churches, they can rethink what is important in their
own praxes of leadership (Branson, et al., 2011, pg. 54). Therefore, the leadership of
the elders need to be followed at all

Humans have achieved evolutionary progress in history through the desire to live a
better life and the ability to adapt to even the harshest conditions. To be sheltered
from the harsh weather conditions, early humans learned to live in caves. To fight
off wild animals as well as to cook food, humans developed their own way of making
fire after accidental encounters of the process through wildfires caused by lightning.
However, progress did not come lightly and through the search for further progress,
humans are inevitably reunited with unintended negative consequences for which
Edward Tenner called revenge effects . In Jon Krakauers Selections from Into the Wild

Through these unconventional adaptations, Julia was able to bury her depressing
childhood inside the deepest part of her mind and focus her attention on her education
and career. Through her constant adaptations, she achieved eventual progress and
success. Julia was able to graduate summa cum laude from Stanford, receiving a full
scholarship at a graduate school in New York and become an award winning producer
of documentary films (Stout 385). The same trend of human achieving progress
through adaptation can be observed at a societal scale. The first great modern
stimulus from disaster may have been the defeat of the Spanish Armada in
1588....this greatest setback in the history of Spain was what led its king Philip III to
offer a perpetual pension of 6,000 ducats to the discoverer of the longitude (Tenner
435). Because of the harsh conditions and challenges sea navigation posed due to the
inability to determine longitude, humans are forced to overcome this challenge by
increasingly focusing their attention toward the search for longitude. Even though it
would take more than a decade until people receive nearly satisfactory results, the
adaptation still led to some fruitful results, such as the advances in mathematics,
astronomy, mechanics, and magnetism. Given these points, Krakauer, Stout and
Tenner demonstrated human s innate ability to adapt to overcome the
9. Drinking Water Pollution and the Earth s Rising Sea Level...
Water is one of the basic foundational units of life. It is very easy to take it for
granted; after all, it does make up three quarters of the total global surface. It has no
taste, no smell, and no color. When considered on the most basic level, it is not very
exciting or stimulating at all. Its simplicity is infinitely remarkable, yet it is
indispensable to the perpetuity of all life formshere on Earth. So why has it taken so
long for us to open our eyes to both its splendor and fragility? We as a people seem to
understand that existence is impossible without water, yet we continue to sabotage it
both consciously and unconsciously.

In addition to this the global climate has begun to rise significantly, especially since
the late 1970 s. The National Academy of Sciences expects doubling of atmospheric
carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases by the end of the 21st century, and this
could raise the Earth s temperature anywhere from 1.5 4.5 celsius degrees by that
time. Global warming affects the climate patterns of Earth in many ways, such as
rises in temperature and precipitation and decreases in soil moisture. Agricultural
productivity will increase in northern regions, but without moisture in the south it will
drop dramatically. In addition there will be more frequent and violent storms and a
plethora of local impacts around the world.
Global warming causes a rise in sea level because of two main phenomena: thermal
expansion of warming ocean water and melting of glacial ice. A water level
increase as significant as twenty inches could be reached by the year 2100. To
provide a working idea of this, twenty inches is enough to submerge about 8500 sq.
miles of the southeastern coastline of the United States (New York Times).
The Science Behind the Issue:
The greenhouse effect is a very real and therefore terrorizing theory. If the
atmosphere did not retain part of the solar radiation being reflected back into space
from the Earth s surface, then our planet would become cold and uninhabitable.
However, the

wind. In his sweaty hand, he held two knives tightly, holding on to them as if he was
going to die. Following shortly behind were two men, only a few yards away. The
branches of the trees cast their shadows on the ground, giving him slight moments of
cover.
This is where I shall take my last breath, the man thought to himself. As the man
continued to run, his throat dry, and his lungs feeling like they were going to burst,
he decided to lift his cloak to get a view of his throwing knives. The man sighs.
Dang, only four knives left. It s life of death anyway, I have no choice.

In the beginning of the 20th century, many changes where to take place that would
ultimately determine the alliances commonly known as the Triple Alliance and
Triple Entente during World War I. In 1904, the Russo Japanese War began. This
war ended with a defeat for Russia, which was humiliating, but did encourage the
Russian Empire to focus on the Balkans, an area that would play more dominate
roles in World War I
( 10 Events that Led to War One 1). Their newfound interest in
this area forced them to reassert themselves later, during the Bosnia Annexation

extremely militaristic power (Tonge 1). The German s power created a naval rivalry

China and America are both diverse and have a fascinating history. American and
Chinese cultures both have similarities. For example, both cultures prefer to dine
with family and friends. Dining with loved ones brings joy to both American and
Chinese society. Another similarity is that American and chinese cultures tend to
engage in conversations while eating. They talk during meals to socialize and talk
about the events that happened during their day. Both countries also prefer to have a
wide variety of food. Chinese and American cultures tend to do this so that you can
have a lot to choose from. These two cultures differ in etiquette and cuisine.

proposition was written by a man in London and meant to be distributed among the
citizens of Britain. The writer s hope was if the document was well received by the
public it would be more favorably received by the government. The proposition first
explains the situation in America, and the hostility the colonists feel towards the
British government. The writer feels that the hostility is growing and it could lead to
an all out war if something is not done. His suggestion is to increase the number of
British troops in the colonies to stamp out the protests of the colonists. It is the

Introduction
One of the primary obstacles in survey studies is often eliciting responses from
surveyed individuals. As we have seen throughout this semester, larger sample sizes
are beneficial to statistical analyses, as increasing the sample size can increase the
power of a hypothesis test, reduce the sampling variability in a sample, and meet the
baseline number of collected observations that are needed to perform specific
analyses. This is not to say that larger sample sizes are unequivocally better; a truly
random, yet representative sample is more important. If one already has a large,
randomly collected and representative sample, increasing the sample size will not
improve the analysis. Our study focuses on how survey topic ... Show more content

Methods
Who: We surveyed Vassar students sitting alone at tables at the Retreat, and Vassar
students as they entered and exited the All Campus Dining Center (Deece). We
believe that by surveying individuals from the Retreat and the Deece, we achieved a
truly random sample with respect to our research question. In other words, we do not
think that the choice to eat at the Deece or Retreat directly affects willingness to take
a survey.
What: The response rate (Yes/No) to short, anonymous surveys offered on a control,
controversial and neutral topic.
Where: The Retreat and Deece. These areas are well trafficked by most of the Vassar
student population, and we believe that individuals surveyed here are representative
of Vassar s student body with respect to our research question.
When: November 11 and 12 (between 2PM and 4PM)
Why: We are interested in determining if the survey topic (neutral vs. controversial)
affects the number of Vassar students that are willing to participate in that survey.
How: (see methodology for additional information) We went to The Retreat on
November 11 for one hour and asked students sitting alone at tables if they wished to
participate in a short, anonymous survey. Survey topics for the control (no topic),
neutral (milk preference), and controversial (abortion rights) were rotated per student

Legend...
There are many similarities and differences between the movie The Legend of
Bagger Vance and the Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita. They both have very
contrasting settings, being that they are centuries apart. However, the struggles that
Rannulph Junah and Arjuna experience are very similar; as well as, Lord Krishna
and Bagger Vance s roles. The religious elements found in both the movie and the
book are also alike, which is devotion and karma; along with the overall message,
which is respecting the things you loveand staying devoted to them.

However, the main element is devotion. In the Bhagavad Gita Arjuna loses his
courage to fight in the battle and fears for his life. Krishna, as Arjuna s mentor,
teaches him that it is his duty to stay devoted and fight for his family s rights. This
theory applies to The Legend of Bagger Vance, as well. Junah finds no point in
playing golf again because of witnessing his friends being killed in battle, yet
Bagger Vance tells him to stay devoted to his hometown and girlfriend since they
are both relying on him to win the tournament. On the other hand, the main
element for The Legend of Bagger Vance is karma. The Hindu way is to perform
one s dharma in such a way that it is the best. In the movie two questions are
proposed: Is Junah to be a great golfer by winning any way he can, or is he to be a
great golfer by respecting the sport he is exceeds at even if that does mean losing?
The answer appears when Junah accidentally moves his golf ball and is faced with
the challenge of ignoring it and increasing his chances to win, or to put the ball in
its proper place and risk falling behind his competitors. Junah chooses the latter and
earns a great deal of respect from Bagger Vance and the town, creating good karma.
The religious elements tie in with the overall message, as well; which is respecting
what one loves and making it your duty to stay devoted to those things. For instance,
Junah respects the game of golf because he did not cheat; while staying devoted to
his town and friends by making it his duty to compete in the tournament. Similarly,
Arjuna respects his family s rights by finding the courage to fight in order to win
what they deserve and at the same time staying devoted to those
18. The Physical Journey In The Odyssey And The Kite Runner
The physical journey of a character plays a central role in the book and influences
many parts of it. Both The Odyssey and The Kite Runner, have main characters that
go through a physical journey for different reasons that impacts their lives in many
ways. By introspecting the books themes, archetypes, and symbols, it is more
comprehensible. In The Odysseyand The Kite Runner both, the physical journey
augments to the meaning of the books in total.
An important theme that relates to the physical journey in The Kite Runner is the
past. The influence of the past affects Amir in his life as we see from the very first
sentence of the book until the end. I became what I am today at the age of twelve,
on a frigid overcast day in the winter of the 1975... That was a long time ago, but it
s wrong what they say about the past, I ve learned, about how you can bury it.
Because the past claws its way out. Looking back now, I realize I have been
peeking into that deserted alley for the last twenty six years, (Hosseini 1).
Throughout the book, Amir s past haunts him in every action he takes and the
journey for his redemption. To Amir, the past defines who he currently is. All of
his feelings of guilt stimulate him to make up for his mistakes. For example, he
feels responsible for the events leading up to Hassan s murder by the Taliban
because he pushed Hassan and Ali out of Baba s house. So, years later when he
goes back to visit Rahim Khan, Amir is told to make amends by finding his nephew,
Sohrab. The past is mentioned in many parts of the book in his quest, Amir faces
many obstacles from his past.
In The Odyssey, the theme of loyalty relates to Odysseuss physical journey back to
Ithaca. Many characters in the epic are loyal and faithful, like Penelope,
Telemachus, Eumaeus, and even Odysseus himself. Penelope remains loyal to her
husband, by not choosing a suitor during the 20 years he s gone. And there she
[Penelope] sat down with the case on her knees and burst into sobs as she drew out
her husband s bow, (Homer 317). Just carrying out Odysseus s bow with such
sorrow shows how in love she was with Odysseus and how the thought of choosing a
new husband moved her to tears. As Penelope remained loyal to Odysseus and

was not excited about letting Texas become one with them, but after they learned that
they would be able to expand westward with Texas land, many more people wanted
Texasto be annexed into the U.S. Apparently, the belief of Manifest Destiny was
stronger than any of the doubts they had before including uneven slave states.
Finally, in 1845, Texas was officially annexed into the U.S. However, Mexico
refused
to believe that Texas was an independent nation, or that it had joined the U.S. They
only though of Texas as a rebellious territory. They thought that by annexing Texas,

Polk strongly believe in the U.S s Manifest Destiny goal. In fact, he was the
president that got Texas annexed. But, Mexico did not want to believe that such a
big part of their land had practically been stolen from them. Another issue was
deciding Texas border. Mexico believed that Texas border was what it had always
been, the Nueces River. However, the U.S believed that the actual border of Texas
was the Rio Grande River. Almost like adding fuel to fire, James K. Polkmade the
situation a whole lot worse when he sent diplomat John Slidell to offer Mexico
$30 million for the Mexican Cession. The Mexican Cession included parts of:
California, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada. Mexican officials never did
meet up with Slidell, as they were so offended, they did not even want to discuss
the matter with the U.S. On April 25,846 Mexican troops attacked General Zachary
Taylor, who was send with his troops to the Mexican border. Taylor forced the
Mexican troops to retreat. After 2 long year of war, the U.S won. They then gave
$15 million, half the original price, for the Mexican Cession. While the U.S

23. A Short Note On Non Conformance Records ( Ncr ) Essay
The objective of my research is to obtain a general overview of non conformance
records (NCR) that are routed back for defects in the aerospace industry and how it
has impacted the integrity of the airplane. Non Conformances on an aircraft or any
other product or service has had an impact on the manufacturing process of a
corporation. The documenting of defects has lessened the value of a product or
service and often leads to the customer choosing to walk away from a deal, forcing
the manufacturer to seek another buyer at a reduced rate. Over time organizations
have invested a large amount of time and money to track and manage non
conformances by implementing processes and procedures to assist in reducing or
preventing the amount written.
Throughout the aerospace industry nonconformances defined is a product or service
does not adhere to a process or procedure affecting the quality of service (quality
systems, 2015). A Nonconformance record (NCR) documents in detail an identified
defect or discrepancy through the use of a centralized database or company internal
program so that the information can be reviewed across multiple departments, sites,
or locations. This allows the information to be reviewed as a whole, or filtered by
user defined criteria.
The objective of the NCR is to clearly define the nature of the problem so that
corrections are accomplished through reworking the discrepancy, replacing parts or
through a form of corrective action (quality systems, 2015). The

organization had followed an ascendant path throughout the previous years, and
had not been hit by the devastating effects of the internationalized economic crisis.
Alhambra Software Solutions had registered tremendous increases in employees,
revenues, as well as customers served and projects completed. From the outside, it
all looked impressive and the company seemed flawless. Still, Scott was worried
by the fact that two of his senior software developers had handed in their
resignations that morning. Michael Tors and Janine Moss had been with the
company since its early stages; they had grown within Alhambra Software

year, and if he recollects well the majority of the new people hired, were mainly
junior developers. Reflecting on the situation,

abuse prescription drugs in America is a benzodiazepine drug known as Xanax (or

number of prescriptions for similar medications like Ativan and Valium. Xanax is

Basketball is my passion and it makes me happy that I decided to continue playing.
However, there was a time when I was thinking about not playing again due to an
awful experience I had while playing basketball my senior year of high school. I
have soon come to realize that not all coaches are the same, for example, my high
schoolbasketballcoachis very different to my college basketball coach, especially
when it comes to their coaching styles and attitudes towards their players and
coaching staff.
It is easily said that playing basketball my senior year of high school was my least
favorite season. The season was my least favorite, not because of my teammates,
but due to the head coach. He only designed plays to showcase our point guard,
who is the person that calls the plays that we run on the court. He also had the
coaching style where things were either his way or you did not play. For instance,
if someone, other than our point guard, were to receive a pass and was wide open
for a shot, he would yell at them because they were not meant to shoot the ball in
that play. However, in the other coaches and players eyes it would seem pointless
for them to not take the chance and shoot the ball, especially if they are wide open.
One could make the assumption that he was focused more on the guards than on the
group as a whole, but my college coach is nothing like that.
I may have only been playing ball in college for one month, but I can say with great
confidence that

defined by electricity, and how our understanding of electricity is proportional to
our reliance upon it. The first episode starts us off with Isaac Newton and Francis

experiments regarding electricity involved a spinning glass hollow sphere vacuum.

most important parts of delivery involved are voice production and articulation. Other
important parts of delivery include methods, gestures, eye contact, and the clothing

speakers of this century. The deliveryand language of King s speeches has earned
him this label. In the next paragraph I shall examine King s delivery and why he is

I feel that everyone has gestures that are unique and King was no different. He moved
around during his speeches and used his hand to emphasize points throughout his
speeches. I cannot decide whether king used the memorization or extemporaneous
method. If I was to choose one I would choose the memorization method. During the
speeches of
King we viewed he never losses eye contact with the audience. This is one of the
reasons why I choose the memorization method. I also feel King s speeches came
straight from his heart. King was a Baptist minister and was without a doubt filled
with the spirit of god. I feel King s speeches were influenced by the spirit that lived
within his heart. The book states that your appearance should be in harmony with
your message. King s speeches were all based on serious spiritual and political
issues and a suit and tie were the attire that he choose to wear. King was a educated
man and was without a doubt educated in the area of fundamental speech skills.
The textbook states that the most effective language was simple, clear, and direct.
King practiced all three of these when performing his speeches. King s language
was simple in that the people he was speaking to could comprehend what he was
speaking about. He was very clear about the points in which he was speaking about.
He also came directly to the reason why he was speaking, he did not beat around the
bush.
King used emotions to sway people to see things his way. King

As Geospatial Satellite Sensors progress over time they become a more valuable
asset to the intelligence community and are playing a bigger role in today s
ongoing missions. The IKONOS 2 Satellite Sensor played a role in developing the
impact that the Geospatial Satellite Sensors have today and will continue to in the

If a person was to be asked to describe our life stages, they would probably say
something like people are born, they live, and then they die. Of course, they aren t
wrong, but we humans go through beautiful stages before reaching death. We go
through stages such as infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. In many
ways, Stars are just like humans. They also go through astonishing stages, all leading
up to its death. The death of a star will probably be one of the most beautiful and
terrifying moments we wont get to witness. But our sun being such a key factor in
our everyday life, is reason enough to know the importance of its life cycle and the
process it will undertake as it begins to perish. But in order to understand how and
why a star dies we first must ask ourselves: what exactly makes up a star?
We might look at the sun and think Hmm, well it just looks like a big ball of fire to
me. Good! The sun is a big ball of fire, but it doesn t burn exactly like fire, it s more
a burning glow. This glowing heat, which is about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, is not
produced by burning like in a chemical reaction but rather by fusion like in a nuclear
reaction. Now, to understand how the sun enters the final stage of its life cycle, it is
important we fully understand how the sun was created. For humans, one of the
earliest stages of life is birth. A human is

The Debate on Fighting in Hockey
There is no sporting event that brings an explosion quite like that of an ice hockey
fight. Ice hockey has always been stereotyped as brutal and unnecessarily violent, a
game full of players who are nothing but goons . Fighting in hockey is a form of
sanctioned violence, as it has deemed acceptable in hockey since the introduction of
the National Hockey League in 1917. The league did note even penalize it until the
1922 NHL season (Brandon 2013). A recent political uproar has taken place within
the hockey world as more people are pushing to have fighting completely removed
from the game. As a hockey player for over 25 years, I have ... Show more content on

Of course the biggest reason for the idea of banning fighting in hockey is for player
safety and trying to minimize potentially severe injuries. Players of the sport know
what their getting into when they take the ice night in and night out. Players take on
full responsibility and many believe it needs to be in hockey as it has always been
The leading case for why some critics believe fighting should be banned is the
number of concussions which stem from the players being struck in the head with a
punch, or from their heads hitting the ice when falling. Although there is potential for
head injuries fighting is not the leading cause. In North America alone, there were
approximately 890 000 ice hockey players; these numbers have been on a steady
incline every decade. As more and more people play the game, more injuries occur,
and concussions have become a rapidly growing cause for concern in a number of
sports, not just hockey. The number of concussions resulting from hockey injuries
has increased dramatically in the past two decades, but it is important to know what
the causes of these injuries are. A study conducted by Rodney Paul and Andrew
Weinbach (2011) over the course of two years, which included 555 hockey players
who played in the BCHL, one of the leading junior hockey leagues Canada, found
that of all the concussions stemming from two complete seasons, only 7.3% were
caused from fighting. The main causes of these concussions were a

the delivery models and the deployment models and each model has its own
services and features. Out of all the deployment models infrastructure as a service
model is the best as it was offering its services based up on the pay per usage by the
user and out of all the delivery models hybrid model is the best as it was having all

41. Political And Political Ideology Of William Howard Taft
Background Political Ideology William Howard Taft was the son of Alphonso Taft,
the U.S. attorney General and then Secretary of War in President Ulysses S. Grant s
Cabinet, ambassador under Chester A. Arthur, and politically active Progressive
Republican. William Taft went to Yale and was a member of the Skulls and Bones
Society, an elite club known to host many powerful and influential members of
society that his father was an original member of, many of them businessmen or
future businessmen. He married Helen Nellie Herron, daughter of a judge and
Republican Party activist. He became friends with Theodore Roosevelt. It s safe to say
these direct connections to politically active Republicans influenced Taft to be a
Conservative leaning Progressive Republican. Taft s own ambitions to be Chief
Justice and work as a judge also gave him temperance and value literal interpretations
of laws and the constitution. When Taft was appointed as governor general of the
Philippines and then later served as provisional governor in Cuba, he came to feel
sympathy for their problems but also came to believe that East Asian and Latin
/Central American societies were immature and required long term U.S. involvement.
Political Ideology Campaign and Election
Taft was nominated by the Republican Convention as Teddy Roosevelt s successor.
He held similar positions to Roosevelt such as laborers being allowed to organize
and his policies on trust busting. He focused on economic issues and

Armco Inc. is a steel manufacturer that used to be the sixth largest in its industry in
US (in 1990). The Kansas City Works within its Midwestern Steel Division was hit
by the decline in the business in the US steel industry despite its good performance
in the past. Consequently, it downsized and incurred significant losses in most of the
1980s. This entity produces two primary products including grinding media and
carbon wire rod, one being recognized in the industry for its durability while the
later being non profitable and only covering some of its fixed costs through volume.

Translating Emotion to the Screen with Composition and Shot Variation In A Raisin
in the Sun
Filmmaking and cinematography are art forms completely open to interpretation in a
myriad ways: frame composition, lighting, casting, camera angles, shot length, etc.
The truly talented filmmaker employs every tool available to make a film
communicate to the viewer on different levels, including social and emotional. When
a filmmaker chooses to undertake an adaptation of a literary classic, the choices
become somewhat more limited. In order to be true to the integrity of the piece of
literature, the artistic team making the adaptation must be careful to communicate
what is believed was intended by the writer. When the literature being adapted is...

Obvious even to the first time and recreational reader or audience member, A Raisin
in the Sun s familial relationships play an integral role to the plot and overall tone of
the play. In order to translate to the screen the importance of the emotions shared in
the family, the filmmaking team working on the movie had to develop a system of
shots and compositions that would imply the relationships visually in order to
support the already emotional dialogue of the play. A number of very important
scenes occur in the play, which are emphasized in the film by using these technical
cinematic methods.
The first good example of emotion translated through frame composition is that in
which Mama reveals the purchase of the house in Clybourne Park, occurring in Act
Two, Scene One of the play. This scene is pivotal in the course of the narrative.
Walter Lee s dream of opening his own liquor store seems truly killed during this
scene, yet the dream so important to Mama and Ruth is simultaneously being
fulfilled. The range of emotions present during the scene is wide. Walter feels anger,
resentment, and hopelessness, while Mama and Ruth feel joy, relief, and satisfaction.
Coupled with the women s joy, however, is the fear of what Walter may say or do in
his disappointment. Present also is the nervousness Mama experiences when
revealing that their new home is located in a white

Prevent Alzheimer s
Of particular interest to seniors, is how they can prevent neurological disorders, like
dementia and Alzheimer s, and possibly reverse the damage. Alzheimer s develops
when a type of plaque forms in the brain, which will eventually lead to damage of the
neurons in the brain.
Tea can reduce the risk of Alzheimer s by preventing the formation of these plaques
and breaking down existing plaque formation. Tea can repair the damage by creating
new neurons in the area of the brain that is responsible for memory.

Tea gets its health benefits from the potent antioxidants that tea contains. These
antioxidants have anti inflammatory properties that can prevent or reduce the risk of

The accomplishment of the mission and the welfare of ones Soldiers. These two
basic responsibilities are at the heart of what it is to be a Non Commissioned
Officer. They are in essence the yardstick in which to measure the success on an
NCO. However, there is more to being an NCO than just ensuring the mission is
accomplished and ones Soldiers are taken care of both on and off duty. There are
three major principles, which define Leadership, Purpose, Motivation and Direction.
(ADP 6 22, 2012) Not only does a Non Commissioned Officer need to provide these
three things in order to accomplish the mission and take care of their Soldiers, but the

Enthusiasm is the spark that brings all the other qualities of leadership to life. An
important aspect of enthusiasm is the performance of tasks with vigor because of the
willingness and gratification in accomplishment, rather than doing them halfheartedly
merely because they have to be done. (DAPAM 22 1, 1948) When an NCO is
provided with purpose and a sense of enthusiasm then the NCO will give the proper
motivation to his/her subordinates. With purpose and enthusiasm comes genuine
involvement and with involvement comes aptitude and the skills needed to grow as

The 1994 drama, The Shawshank Redemption was directed by Frank Darabont,
and based off of the Stephen King short story, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank
Redemption. Darabont would later become well known for his work with The
Walking Dead. Starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, the film tells the story
of Andy Dufrense, portrayed by Robbins, serving life at the Shawshank State
Penitentiary for the murder of his wife and her lover, a crime he adamantly claims
to not have committed. While imprisoned, he befriends Freeman s character, Ellis
Boyd Red Redding. After spending decades behind bars, Dufresne is able to escape

The most obvious change is the character and narrator of the story, Red. In the
original story, he was a middle aged Irishman with graying red hair, hence the
nickname. Clearly, Morgan Freeman is not a redhead, nor is he Irish. Other,
comparatively insignificant alterations include the poster Andy keeps in his cell. In
the original story, it is a poster of Rita Hayworth, whereas in the film, it is Linda
Ronstadt. In spite of the differentiations between the film and its literary source of
inspiration, there is one theme that is prominent in both worlds that makes them what
they are, hope. What exactly is hope though? Different people with different
backgrounds have their own viewpoints about hope. As Bane stated in The Dark
Knight Rises, there can be no true despair without hope. This implies that hope and
despair, two contrasting human traits, cannot exist without one another. That balance
in the same light as good and evil, right and wrong, must exist. Spiritually speaking,
in numerous branches of Christianity, hope in Jesus Christ and faith in Him are
closely intertwined, with hope possessing a connection, meaning that the person with
hope rest perfectly assured that through witnessing the Holy Spirit, that Jesus

Over the past couple of years we have seen a huge surge in stock markets
(Chart#1). The main reason for such moves is Quantitative Easing monetary policy
provided by Federal Reserve System since late 2008. Purchases were halted on 29
October 2014 after accumulating $4.5 trillion in assets or 26% of GDP. The key
outlook is tend to be consumer behavior, because households spending represents
two thirds of GDP, which is broadest measure of economic activity. The job market

One more reason for such situation is recently surged value of the dollar.
Understanding the fact, that falling commodity prices and rising dollar cannot last
indefinitely, and maybe even bottomed out for now, I see a lot of perspectives within
these markets in one year period. Moreover, a lot of forecasters expect inflation to
move toward two percent goal during this year, which will result in substantial rise in
commodity prices. Although, it is a controversial issue according to the FED
projections for the current and the next year, which have been lowered from previous
numbers (Table#1).
In this case, Fed is unlikely to tight money supply by increasing federal funds rate,
which is currently zero and is a frequently debatable topic. Such policy has a positive
impact on a stock market.

Examining the modern day political culture of where our society is at and where it
is heading is something that people have struggled with in past history. Take for
example the Germans of the early to mid twentieth century, it is here where the
people cannot see the full context of what is happening in the world and how they
were impacting it. Think of the Romans that were born at the beginning of the fifth
century, they would have no idea that the mighty Roman Empire would cease to
exist within one hundred years. This happens because we cannot predict the events
of the near future. However, by taking a step back and unbiasedly analyzing what is

Many of the problems that Marx diagnosed in his time are still prevalent today in
America. One of these broad problems is the gap between the bourgeoise and the
proletariat. Though the economic climate of today s America and yesterday s Russia
are completely different, both share similarities. One of these is seeing the emergence
of an elite, ruling class amongst the masses of everyday commoners. Marx sought to
end the struggle of the common man by leveling the playing field amongst the entire
population. This is needed because we see the elite class working together to keep
themselves elevated above the common people. These interactions amongst the
elitists occur across political platforms. For example, recently the Senate passed a
resolution that gives telecommunication companies the right to sell your browsing
history. In a government of the people, by the people, and for the people, it doesn t
make sense why such a bill would be passed. In what ways does this benefit the
common good of the common man? This bill shows a great violation of Mill s
policy of utilitarianism. This bill was passed to benefit the senators, who received
money from the telecommunication companies, and to benefit these companies who
will profit off of the public s browsing histories. If we compare the fifty senators who
received financial support and the telecommunication companies to everybody else
who is having their browsing data neutralized, we can see how
49. The Main Causes Of Child Soldiers In Uganda
In our lives as children we need love, care, peace and safety to help us bloomsome
into a great and respectable person, but not everyone has that. Not everyone is as
lucky as us in our first countries to have these things help them grow and develop,
sometimes childrens are surrounded by the terrors of war as they grow up, just like
the child soldiers of Uganda.
To understand this problem this problem in Uganda the history, the problems
created by it and main cause to it must all be examined. The main cause of use of
child soldiers in Uganda can really be traced back to a military coup in the year 1986
where a new force was created by a man named Joseph Kony using child soldiers that
make up 90% of the army, called the LRA (Lord s Resistance Army). The job of the
LRA was to protect the Northern Ugandans from the military coup by the People s
National Resistance Army. The LRA did this through the abduction and use of
children as child soldiers, and this caused many problems for the country of Uganda (
Uganda: Child soldiers at centre of mounting humanitarian crisis. United Nations,
United Nations, www.un.org/events/tenstories/06/story.asp?storyID=100).
Throughout history of Uganda the use of child soldiers has caused a lot of problems
in the country of Uganda and throughout the world like the loss a younger generation
because of death of war therefore resulting in an older population unable to work or
give birth and a large amount of other mentally unstable adults who grew

51. The Importance Of Grief Counseling
Grief counseling is a much needed field in the new millennia. As population grow
and expand, races collide in culture, religion, and grief. It is imperative that Pastors,
leaders, and average society understand the dynamics of grief and suffering. More
important, counselors must learn how to balance their lives and the ones they chose
to consul. Griefcounselors need to be compassionate, attentive, yet balanced in order
to be an effective treatment for their clients. Understanding how to conduct an
assessment and intervene with bereaved children, adolescents, adults, and families
are important skills for professionals working in the field of social work, nursing,
school and pastoral counseling, psychology, and other helping professions
(Pomeroy, Garcia). A grief counselor s main objective is to help individuals or
families reach closure over the loss or death of a loved one and begin the process
of restoring their lives to a productive means. Each client or family is different and
knowing how to connect with the client s culture and religious quarries can be
draining. Yet, respect of the client s ideology is essential to creating a healing
environment. First, grief counselors must be compassionate. As the care provided to
the dying has matured over the past 30 years with the establishment of the hospice
movement, as well as Right to Die societies, it was inevitable that a new wave of
writings would be needed to explain the process of dying to generations unfamiliar

52. Toronto Fc Swot Analysis
Summary This session focused on the Toronto FC and how they market with a
focus on the risks they recently took in their marketing campaign. To begin, Chris
Shewfelt spoke about the history of the Toronto FC, from their 8 year slump
without making it to the playoffs, to their most recent win. The Toronto FC has
always tried to market in very different ways to make themselves stand out. At the
very first soccer game, the ticket was a Toronto FC scarf which the crowd then held
up during the national anthem. This became pivotal to Toronto FC games, because
to this day people still wear scarves to the game and hold those scarves up high.
Additionally, their most recent marketing campaign was pretty risky as it was based
on the assumption that the soccer team would make it to the finals, which was not
definite. The Toronto FC began with feeding content across all channels such as TSN.
They then leveraged their partners for marketing purposes. Budweiser was the
primary partner utilized, aiding in the creation of the Red Anthem commercial which
connected the fans to the players and the game. TFC then had a viewing party, and
although it was cold outside people still showed up. They then made sure that their

53. The Diagnostic Criteria For Smartphone Addiction
The diagnostic criteria for smartphone addiction proposed in this study were based on
the population with the currently largest sample size and the diagnoses were
validated by psychiatric interviews. Our findings indicated that smartphone addiction
has overlapping features with substance related or behavioral addictive disorders, but
the unique properties of smartphones, i.e. its excellent accessibility and multiple
Internet based applications, contributed to its unique but prevalent addictive
behaviors.
We proposed that a strict definition for smartphone related functional impairment,
requiring two or more functional impairment criteria influenced by smartphone use.
This definition is different from the diagnostic criteria for functional impairment in
DSM 5. Compared to computer based Internet addiction, the portability of
smartphones dampens the severity of functional impairment associated with
smartphone addiction, but instead influences multiple domains of an individual s
daily life. In addition, because smartphone addiction is a heterogeneous and multi
faceted condition [26], we should evaluate the heterogeneity of its functional
impairment from different angles.
The symptom criteria in this study provided evidence that smartphone addiction has
similar psychopathology with the traditional substance use disorders. The core
symptoms of substance use disorders are impaired control , which consist of four
criteria: (1) use larger amounts/longer, (2) repeated attempts to

mass exodus to virtual worlds and online game environments. Backing up his claim
by stating how gamers do more things in video games than they do in real life
because of the feedback and rewards they get from gaming than living. This led
Jane into to thinking about how we can make the world function like a game to get
gamers to be able to contribute to the real world as they would in the virtual world.
Helping not only us but also helping them with their struggles of feeling like they

responsibility. Discuss some of the recent ethical obligations confronting public
administrators in their day to day decision making. Also we will examine the recent
trend in privatizing government functions. Finally, we will discuss if privatizing
posses any type of dilemma s for the attainment of public interest. Former Senator
from Illinois, Paul Douglas said that Instead, most men want a life of integrity and

The finances aspect is that public officials may have their own personnel issues
when it comes to dealing with financial matters, even though they are handle the
public funds. One disadvantage of this aspect is that if a politician becomes involved
in a situation, they may prefer not to name names. But, on the plus side an advantage
to this aspect is that the public can decide if the official has the ability to overcome
said pressures of any form of charge finances. Hence then the public is able to
determine if the public official is capable to handle finances properly. Next, is
administrative responsibility? Simply put this is a shared responsibility between
public officials. Our officials need to determine a way in order lead without division
of said responsibilities. This should be performed collectively and not just
individually. Furthermore, recent ethical obligations as expressed by Aristotle, to do
this to the right person, to the right extent, at the right time, with the right motive,
and the right way, that is not for everyone nor is it easy; wherefore goodness is both
rare and laudable and noble. In today s society this statement can still be true, as
much it was in Aristotle time. America s leaders are always into the semi governance
of other countries such as Libya, Africa, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Even though our
leader s sole responsibility is not to govern other countries, but America.
Issues and Dilemmas of Contemporary Public
