greenhouse gas emissions and renewable energy to international agreements and individual
responsibilities.
One of the primary difficulties lies in striking a balance between presenting the alarming realities
of global warming and exploring viable solutions. It demands a nuanced approach that not only
communicates the urgency of the issue but also instills hope by discussing concrete actions that
can be taken. The challenge lies in distilling intricate scientific concepts into accessible language
while maintaining accuracy and credibility.
Additionally, the essay should address the multifaceted nature of the problem, acknowledging
the interconnectedness of environmental, economic, and social factors. Crafting a well-rounded
perspective requires an in-depth analysis of the varying impacts on different regions,
communities, and ecosystems.
Furthermore, staying updated with the latest developments in climate science and policy is
crucial. The dynamic nature of this field demands continuous research to provide readers with
the most current and relevant information. Balancing scientific rigor with readability is yet
another obstacle, as the essay must engage a diverse audience with varying levels of familiarity
with the subject matter.

The Unseen Death
The Unseen Death Thailand is an increasingly growing country, with about 60% of
the population involved in agriculture (Subhadrabandhu). In the past few decades it
has been making its transition from agricultural based to an industrialized economy
has raised concerns to an environmental degradation. The increasing level of pollution
, particularly in the city area causing numerous problems along the way in the past
recent years. With level of life expectancy dropped, health defects and an increasing
number of mortality rates. The pollution includes air, water, and noise pollution. With
vehicle emissions and forest fire being among one of the most to cause air pollution.
In 2012, a legislation called First Time Car Buyer Tax Rebate Program has been
launched. It has been critiqued for being a huge part of an increasing traffic jams,
stretched finances and most importantly the side effect on publics health. The
program was originally aimed for people who are using motorcycles to switch to
cars. Also to boost the automobile industries that has dropped since 2011 after the
flood in Thailand. With the boost of the industry, many automotive companies which
already have their facilities manufacture and assemble their cars in Thailand. This
causes the level of emission and industrial wastewater to rise. The increase number
of cars and factories also mean the higher level of noise pollution. Which in human
not only causes annoyance, if being exposed for a long period of time can cause
Native Americans And The United States Essay
Ever since coming to North America, the colonists and early Americans have pushed
away Native Americans. Natives were not only thrown into an unknown land, but
were also killed in large numbers while changing their culture trying to fit in. The
United States was nothing but rude to these people who owned the land centuries
before the first Englishman ever stepped foot in America. The United Statesdestroyed
these societies to shreds without ever really giving them a good chance to live among
the Americans. I believe the United States should have treated these Native
Americans better instead of almost completely demolishing millions of innocent
people trying to adapt to these new ways of life.
Ever since Christopher Columbus first came to America in 1492, the natives were
known to have been in this new found land first. When the voyage from Europe first
arrived, they thought they had landed in India, so when they saw the natives, the
colonists gave them the title of Indians . After discovering India was actually a
whole new land, these natives were seen as helpful and kind and the newcomers to
America wanted to learn from and teach these uncivilized people their ways and
culture to become more civilized. The strange Native Americans spoke a different
language, were almost naked, and lived among the land in tents unlike the stone
packed cities in Europe. The colonists, like Francis Daniel Pastorius from
Pennsylvania in 1700, had given them an even more undignified name,
How Did Klimt Make The Kiss
Gustav Klimt created his oil on canvas painting The Kiss between 1907 and 1908
using oil with layers of gold leaf. This piece also uses mosaic techniques as well as
fresco. Just as the title suggests, the painting is a depiction of a couple embraced in a
kiss. The man is kissing and embracing the woman, the woman in return is accepting
the kissand leaning up to him (Cruz 34). The paintingis exhibited at the
Osterrelchische Galerie Belvedere in Vienna, Austria. The Kiss is a large piece
measuring 180 x 180 cm, roughly a square of 6 x 6 (Nerit 1). There are several
elements of style that make The Kiss captivating. The subject is in the middle, the
bright yellow color shows the emphasis of the subject. The skin of the couple, their
Domesticated Animals In The Elizabethan Era
Ever since humans began to domesticate animals, their lives have altered drastically.
Daily life and activities became easier with the use of the trained animals and the
relationship between humans and other animals grew into something more than just
to beings coexisting with one another. Today, domesticated animals became beloved
family members of humans who adopted them and they live peacefully. Some train
their pets for sport and entertainment and others just keep their pets for company. In
the Elizabethan era, daily life was fairly similar. Animals such as horses and dogs
proved to be quite significant in the 16th century. They assisted humans, brought joy
to humans lives, and became entertainment to the once boring lives of humans...

In a hunt such as this, their prey was wild boar. The hunters and their dogs would
chase the prey to exhaustion and at that point, go in for the kill. This target was rather
dangerous, but nonetheless, the sport was enjoyed. The other form of hunting, Bow
and Stable hunting, was considered less strenuous and both men and women
participated in the activity. The main weapons used was a bow and arrow or a spear.
Riding on horseback, the huntsmen and huntswomen accompanied by several dogs,
would drive their prey into and enclosed area. Then, the hunters killed the prey in
close range.
The dogs and horses participating in these activities prove to be very critical in the
procedure of chasing, capturing, and killing the prey. They are even acknowledged
by the people of this time for their vigorous work. To show their appreciation, the
dogs are rewarded with a few chunks of meat.
In each hunt, there are a variety of different dog breeds that are used in the hunt.
Before the hunt is planned, a huntsman and his lymer, go out in the morning to
search for tracks of the prey or fewments (droppings), to predict where the prey may
be scavenging and living. Common breeds of lymers include Bloodhounds and St
Hubert s. Other types of dogs used are sight hounds or otherwise known as
gazehounds. As the name suggest, these dogs are prized and adored for their acute
vision and immense speed. Breeds such as Greyhounds and

It could be further argued that to become effective at learning, teachers should
strive to encourage all learners to develop a balance of learning styles. The
learning style that I would consider my lesson to be instrumentalism as it is
product driven at the end of the course the learners will have a skill to make them
employable. The theory of knowledge is taught by developing useful skills and
knowledge that the learners need to progress further and reach the vocational
qualification and is assessment based with an exam in the form of a portfolio to
reach the qualification. Although I can clearly see that the subject I teach covers the
instrumentalism theories and therefore is government funded I do think overall it
puts a lot of pressure on the tutoar to teach by means of assessment and ticking the
right boxes to keep the funding there and due to time frames it does not leave much
scope to develop a person. I try, where possible, to bring this into lesson as the
perenialist theories believe one should teach the things that one deems to be of
everlasting importance to all people everywhere. I feel that the most important topics
develop a person. Since details of fact change constantly, these cannot be the most
important. Therefore, one should teach principles, not facts as it is the principles of
employability that will develop the
americanisation of australian television Essay
The Americanization of Australian Television is a sad and terrible thing. It is a
process whereby ordinary Australians are bombarded every day with images of
American lifestyle, so much that it merges almost unnoticed into their own lifestyle.
It is a process whereby our home grown entertainment industry is overwhelmed by the
enormous powerhouse of the American economy, with drastic effectsupon the modern
Australian nation. Not only is Australian free to air TV being dominated by American
produced shows, but a lot of the content on the Australian TV shows is sourced from
America. American culture is part of Australian mass consumer culture, It dominates
our television.

I have tried. The only local program I could praise is Wildside ( Cited in the Sydney
Morning Herald, David Dale). So whilst there are many Australians concerned over
this issue there are so many more that do not see the affect the American TV culture
is having on Australian television and its identity, the distinction between what is
inside and outside Australian culture is slipping away.
The influence of Americanisation upon Australian Free to air TV is clearly evident,
If we look at the top 10 shows that are viewed by the Australian public today it
would be obvious that the top two shows are both American produced, Lost and
Desperate Housewives (Top 10 shows, Who Magazine.).
Lost and Desperate Housewives are doing very well, loading up the viewing
figures in the US favour. But go back six months and the picture would be far more
balanced. Jump eight years back, and Blue Heelers was holding its own against
Friends (Bell Phillip, Television 1997 Twenty Most popular programs). The
Australian audience is becoming more Americanised, as more and more prefer
watching American TV shows opposed to the ones made in Australia. Shows like
SVU, Law and Order, CSI (and its derivatives), NCIS, and the OC, dominate the TV
screens of many Australian households today. Ordinary Australians spend many
hours watching TV (especially Australian youth),
The City Of Branson s Fiscal Year Runs
Budget Process Goals
The City of Branson s fiscal year runs January 1 through December 31. Typically, the
budget preparation process begins in mid July when budget documents and
instructions are distributed by the Finance Department to the each city department.
The various departments have approximately three weeks to assess any budget goals,
capital and personnel requests, and to complete projections for the current fiscal year.
By mid August, the Finance Department completes a preliminary review of the
departments budget, personnel and capital requests. The City Administrator then
meets with the Finance Director to review any requests, and schedules one on one
meetings with each department head.
As the first organization in Missouri to implement Priority Based Budgeting, prior to
their administrative review each department head is encouraged to perform a review
of programs offered by their department and to establish what programs are not
meeting the results identified by the board. The purpose of this process is to allow
for reallocation of resources to programs that are determined to need more funding, in
place of simply incrementally increasing the departmental line item budget. Aside
from simply eliminating the programs that are not achieving desired results, the
directors are encouraged to develop solutions to how the identified programs may
perform more efficiently. Examples include identifying programs that may be:

How Does Machiavelli s Use Of Political Power
Shakespeare shows machiavelli s through ariel. He is the perfect balance of fear vs
love. He has great admiration for Prospero and he loves him and adheres to all his
commands. Shakespear portrays his fear of prospero when he asks for freedom
and is denied quickly by his master. He responds I will be correspondent to
command (Shakespeare 1.2. 2.8). Ariel is being ruled in the ideal way machiavelli
desires. This example shows shakespeares agreeance with the way Machiavelli
preaches. However shakespeare counters this with showing ruling in this manner is
only effective case by case. Machiavelli s ideas wont work for all, only certain cases.

Machiavelli in The Prince draws similarities to the ruthless use of power. The
Prince views feel like they are coming from a hopeless perspective of the world.
One should be careful when taking leadership lesson from The Prince. At the core
of The Prince is the use of fear verse love. Machiavelli lets it be known that if a
leader had to lean towards being feared or loved then it is much safer to be feared
than loved. Machiavelli is conveying humans are governed by the law of their own
self interest. They will want wants best for them and desire that. Therefore if the
leader is feared he will be able to control the people s needs in order to avoid
corrupt laws. Ultimately it is better for a prince to be feared than loved, because
love is fickle, while fear is constant. The fear will keep the laws and people in
check. This belief highlights how a leader would be able to rule effectively and
stay in power according to Machiavelli. With this it is essential to avoid being
hated. This a difficult balancing act since being feared is not always beneficial
since it is essential to have your citizens support. If one is feared too greatly then an
unhappy kingdom won t be beneficial. Ruling through fear is beneficial for the ruler
since it may result in him holding his position for a longer span, however it is in his
own best interest. Machiavelli is stressing the importance fear plays in maintaining
power since

opportunities for higher order thinking as opposed to passive listening. Reinforces
listening to others and gives opportunity for immediate feedback and adjustment of
thought. Students talking together provide for input and listening. Students often
have to assess the thoughts/ideas of peers, determine whether they fit their own,
whether they disagree, or partially agree. Students have an opportunity to speak their
ideas/thoughts for better formulation. Some often say, I didn t think of that or That s

Students may present projects, activities, etc. using a variety of approaches rather
than the typical paper. They have more freedom to use their own strengths in the
final product. Students may determine the form of projects and often work well
beyond initial expectations. GETTING STARTED WITH ACTIVE
TECHNIQUES 1.Talk to faculty using active learning and get ideas from them.
2.Observe classes where active learning is going on 3.Attend workshops, training
sessions, or seminars on how to incorporate activelearning approaches. 4.Read
research and articles about the values and ways to use active learning. 5.Plan
carefully and start with simple approaches. Pair work is often the easiest to begin
using and has the least chance for social problems. A worksheet in pairs is a simple
way to start. You may want to assign a reading and ask students to work together in
class on a task related to what has been read. 6.Ask a colleague to observe active
learning lessons and give constructive criticism. 7.If students are creating products,
projects, etc., be sure to provide rubrics on how you will grade the results.

Essay On Hydor Locket
As a water nymph, Hydor was always underestimated. She was looked at as weak
and petite, but deep in her heart she knew she was strong. Hydor excelled as a
young water nymph and her powers over water were substantial. She desired to be a
god like her hero, Poseidon. As the daughter of Merella, the queen of the sea, Hydor
never thought that she would be anything more than just a princess. Hydor awoke
from her slumber and took her morning swim throughout the underwater kingdom.
A sparkle in the distance caught her eye and she rushed towards it. It was a heart
shaped locket that belonged to her grandmother. She hurried back to the lavish
palace where her family resides. Hydor showed the locket to her mother, and
Merella snatched it from her child s grasp. Merella ordered Hydor to return to her
room. The mischievous queen kept the locket for herself... Show more content on

dark spell on the ocean. This time, Hydor was ready for a fight. She zoomed across
the ocean to where the dark demigoddess stood waiting for the water nymph. The
two lashed out in a vigorous fight. They exploded in extreme power. The two were
whipped back from the intensity of the fight. Hydor knew that Empusa would not

ocean healed, and Hydor s true power was revealed. She realized that the locket
was not Heart of the Sea, but that Hydor, herself, was. Hydor used her newly found
powers to defeat Empusa, and locked the demigoddess in a block of ice. Hydor

Edgar Allan Poe Influence On The Raven
The events in people s lives shape and influence the way the they think. They are
later defined by the way they act, with every action having a reaction. For writers,
it can and will affect the story. One can look at the story and sometimes see the
author s life. Edgar Allan Poe s The Raven was influenced by what was happening
currently in his life with the characters, all the way to the setting. The and later his
works were with the core principles of the aesthetic and decedent movements. As
The Raven was based on his wife s eventual death. In 1842 Poe s wife Virginia was

The movement really favored the brain in brain vs body. They would rather focus on
intellectual satisfaction, rather than satisfaction for the body. The body was high
maintenance and keep you away from the intellectual peruses of the brain. Poe falls
under this movement is because of one his core principles. That the death of
beautiful girl is the most poetic statement. Beauty in this movement was the most
important thing to accomplish. When, indeed, men speak of Beauty, they mean,
precisely, not a quality, as is supposed, but an effect... (philosophy of composition).
The art doesn t need a social argument, nor does it need to fit with some morality.
Just Style, wit, language appearance, and fashion. The decadent movement is
considered the gothic age of literature, and a considered a later generation of the
aesthetic movement. Poe is considered the grandfather of the decadent movement.
To get away from the ideals that art was limited to society. Where dark themes such
as death, supernatural phenomena, etc. Disregarded the world are them and formed
their own world. In The Raven the story takes place in one room. Where the narrator
has lost his lover. Where his longing and sorrow for Lenore, he finds truth and
madness over a dead beauty.

focus which is being used by HI s competitors.
Although their target focus is on business guest, HI are still able to attract other
segment markets with their facilities and products they have. This is based on their
concepts which are production, sales and marketing.
Looking at the production concepts, they have taken into account the segmentation
market as a whole, which has leaded them to keeping costs at a reasonable price
just so it s affordable for their segment market. With the prices being reasonable but
not cheap, HI is able to use products which can offer better quality and performances.
This has given the hotel brand the advantage to not be classified as a low budget
hotel such as other high street hotels; Travel Lodge and Premier Inn, whereas these
hotels will not use quality as an essential.

The Equal Pay Act Of 1963 Essay
A. Equal Pay Act of 1963 is an integral part on JetBlue s behalf showing they go
above and beyond to ensure proper pay. Pay was specifically structured for each
position. Some pay structures even had multiple options with contracts designated
to improve loyalty. EPA of 1967 was passed to deter gender equality in pay. JetBlue

grades to the job detail. Civil Rights Act of 1866 was created to cease racial
inequality. With values such as caring and integrity JetBlue has distinguish
themselves as pioneer in diversity. The way they care for each employee to both
retain their high ratings and prevent unions from forming have been the key to their
success. Having senior managements from different regions of the nation has given
voice to the different views of operation. The different views have created a
harmonized approach for all contracts of employment. Sustained with regular
meetings to understand underlying conflicts and recognize what is important for
each individual employee no matter white or minority. The way employees view
their pay is in most case how they are viewed they are treated. JetBlue recognizes that
great happy employees are the main reason for success. Comparable worth sometimes
distinguish the responsibility of each job. Comparable worth is an extension of the
Equal Pay Act and requires that the responsibilities and intellectual analysis is
considered when negotiating pay.

Environmental and sustainability considerations for very large systems
As mentioned above, the demand for faster and smaller devices with higher
performance is increasing. However with increasing devices, there is increase in
data generated. Large companies like google, amazon, Microsoft and many others
generate huge amounts of data which is stored in large storage centres called Data
centres. It is estimated that by 2020, around 35 zettabytes of data will be generated
every year [6]. To store and manage such large data, huge data centres are required.
However there are many challenges faced while operation of these datacentres.
One of the challenges faced by the data centres is land occupied by these data
centres. Due to increasing amounts of data, larger and more number of data
centres are being built. For example, one of the largest data centre by digital realty
occupies 1.1 million ft2 of land and require 53 generators [6]. It is estimated that by
2017 there will be around 8.6 million data centres around the world and although the
numbers might decrease after 2017, the space occupied will increase. Data centre
swill occupy around 1.94 billion ft2 by 2018 [7].
Second and the most important challenge faced by the companies are the amount of
energy required to manage data centres. All the data centres around the world use
around 30 billion watts of energy on average, which is equal to output by 30 nuclear
power plants [6]. By 2020 it is expected that, US datacentres
The Character Tommy In Kazuo Ishiguro s Never Let Me

When we were born, the only thing we had was the genes that our father and
mother had inherited us. Our life cannot be determined only by the genes that have
been inherited by mom and dad. The genes that we have inherited are only like a
starter pack of our life. All of our genes are made up of 23 pairs of chromosomes
and are used to build our fundamental. However, these genes that we inherited
cannot fully determine who we all are fully. One ordinary little tiny seeds itself
cannot grow into a big strong tree all on its own. The seed is just the beginning of
everything. As time goes on, we will gradually become stronger and more powerful
from our experiences. The experiences that we gained will keep us steady from all
the obstacles that we face in life. Our achievements will gradually transform us into
becoming who we are now. With time, we will experience many different kinds of
things, people, decision making, situation, and etc.... These things will benefit us to
becoming our better selves. In this paper, we are going to analyze the character
Tommy in Kazuo Ishiguros Never Let Me Gounfolding what makes us who we are
through time tearing off our labels and showing our true self.
In Kazuo Ishiguro s Never Let Me Go, the novel starts with our narrator Kathy
sitting before the end of her life looking back at her childhood as a child in Hailsham,
narrating her memories to us. The novel surrounds the life of three characters: Kathy,
Tommy, and Ruth, who are all clones.
Duty Of Care And Diligence
|Duty of Care and diligence |
Concepts and standards of duty of care and diligence have changed significantly in
contemporary society and these are regulated in the general law and corporate
legislation with slightly difference (Ramsay, 1997). Legislation focuses on the
appropriateness of the practice of directors, while general law concentrates on the
foreseeability of the consequent damage. As per s 180 (1) of Corporations Act
2001 (Cth) defines, directors or other officers must exercise their rights and
undertake their responsibilities with a duty of care and diligence, otherwise, they
are negligent of duty. It is hardly feasible to create a uniform standard of care
because directors in different companies are various. Daniels v Anderson (1995) 37
NSWLR 438 is an important case in understanding the care standards.
|Duty not to trade while insolvent|
In s 588G of Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), directors have the responsibility to cease
any trading that could incur debts when the company is in bankruptcy protection or is
likely to be insolvent. This rule is set to protect the benefits of creditors (Jiang,
2015). Besides, liquidator or individual creditors can also sue the directors for the
breach of this duty. S 588G is only applicable at the time of the insolvency of
company and a debt has been incurred. Officers or employees are not affected by this
section.

The Fundamental Forces in Nature
The fundamental forces in nature have been around for centuries. Tying
everything together many scientist and physicist have came about to help with
the theories of these fundamental forces which include gravitation,
electromagnetism, strong, and weak forces. Physicist like Maxwell, Newton,
Fermi, Chadwick, and Kepler, have made a strong impact on how people see the
world today. These fundamental forces are what goes on in everyday life and what
we still see till this day. The point we are going to get to are the coming about of
these theories and how they are seen in the outside world and also in physics. In
my paper I will be splitting up how the scientist/physicist came to contribute to the
fundamental forces and how each scientist came to contribute to the coming and
discovery of each force. In the second part of the paper I will be describing how
each force strong and weak are used in nature. These topics will help anyone in the
search for information on the topic of forces that came to be due to physics.
History of the fundamental forces In 1605 Kepler published the laws of planetary
motion which included 3 laws. First law was that every planet is an ellipse with the
sun. Second a line segment connecting a planet and the sun sweeps out equal areas
during equal intervals of time. Lastly the third law which states that the time it takes
for a planet to orbit the Sun increases rapidly corresponding with the radius of the
planets orbit. These laws came to help the
Causes Of Alexander The Great
The Empire of Alexander lived on past the death of its founder, but soon
fragmented into numerous smaller kingdoms ruled by his generals. The
Macedonian homeland came under the control of the line of Antigonus I
Monophthalmus, a general and satrap under Alexander. The line of Antigonus
would rule Macedon into the middle of the second century BC, when the kingdom
was overcome by a myriad of problems, both internal and external. The reasons for
the decline and eventual annexation of the Kingdom of Macedon include the
weakening of the Macedonian army, the chaotic political order in Macedonia, and
the rising might of Rome. The downfall of the Kingdom took nearly 40 years to
achieve, and thus no single reason may be looked to as the cause of Macedon s
annihilation as an independent country. However, the combination, primarily, of
those three things as they will each in turn be highlighted, brought about the
undoing of homeland of history s greatest general. In the annals of history, few
leaders are as well remembered, as celebrated, as Alexander the Great. Indeed, his
epithet suggests much both about him as a leader and about popular opinion of
him. He among all other generals and kings in history forged a lasting reputation as
the greatest of generals. He held together a veteran army, and huge empire through
force of personality. The loyalty of his generals, the Diadochi, was his greatest
strength as a general, and his greatest weakness as a king. When Alexander died

Colonial Period Of Slavery Essay
The time period from 1607 1775, that formed the foundation the original thirteen
colonies, is referred to as the colonial period of slavery (Clark Pujara 9/19). During
the colonial period of slavery, indentured servants and African slaves were
essential factors for making the colonies successful by means of forced labor.
Specifically, African slaves were the main source of labor workers and they
consisted of several types of African slaves such as the including the saltwater
slaves, slaves directly from Africa, seasoned slaves slaves from the Caribbean, and
creole slaves the first generation of North American slaves (Franklin pg. 65). The
Chesapeake was one of four regions that were predominant throughout the colonial
period and it consists of colonies Delaware, Virginia, and Maryland. The
Chesapeake region was first explored and settled in 1580 by the English. This area
soon became popular place for wealthy English men due to the rising tobacco
cultivation and consequently English men wanting to maximize their tobacco profits
in the Chesapeake region switch from a model of indentured servitude to African
slaveryand created a legal system to justify race based slavery (Clark Pujara 9.19)
The main goal of the European colonist of the Chesapeake region was to continue
the growth and expansion of the tobacco industry. In order to complete this task, they
need laborers. In 1619, the first 20 African slaves came directly from African by
means of a Dutch ship and entered
Attention Deficit Disorder
Attention Deficit Disorder History In 1845, Dr. Hendrick Hoffman first person to
describe Attention Deficit Disorder. Dr. Hoffman was also a poet who wrote
stories for his three year old son. Hendrick s story, The Story of the Fidgety Philip
accurately described a little boy who had Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
(What is ADHD). During the early 1900 s, Sir George Still, a British pediatrician,
published lectures to the Royal College of Physicians in England (What is ADHD).
He described the condition as an abnormal defect of moral control in children and
stated that it was caused by a genetic dysfunction (Holland). In 1980, the American
Psychological Association revised the name of the disorder from hyperkinetic impulse

The disorder s name has changed due to scientific advances and field trials that were
conducted. AD/HD (A.D.D or ADHD) is not one specific disorder because it comes
with variations. It is now divided into three subtypes, based off of the main features
that are associated with the disorder: impulsivity, hyperactivity, and inattentiveness
(Attention Deficit Disorder). The subtypes of AD/HD are the Predominantly
Combined Type, Predominantly Inattentive Type, and Predominantly Hyperactive
Impulsive Type. The Predominantly Combined type of ADHD is the most common
out of the three. Individuals who have this type have symptoms from Predominantly
Inattentive ADHD and Predominantly Hyperactive Impulsive ADHD (Types of
ADHD). Some symptoms include not listening and being unable to follow or
understand instructions, whether simple or easy. Predominantly Inattentive ADHD
has symptoms such not paying attention to detail, being distracted or forgetful, and
avoiding tasks that involve effort (Types of ADHD). In order to be diagnosed with
this type of ADHD, one must have at least six of the nine symptoms as well as a
few of the Hyperactive Impulsive Type of ADHD. The Hyperactive Impulsive type
deals with symptoms such as fidgeting, squirming, and speaking too much (Types of
ADHD). Once again, to be diagnosed, one must have six symptoms and a few of the

The Significant Impact of the Transcontinental Railroad
on...
The Transcontinental Railroad was one of the most ambitious engineering projects,
economic stimulants, and efficient methods of transportation in the early United
States. If completed, the United States would be truly be united from east to west.
The purpose of this paper is to examine how the Transcontinental Railroad helped
develop new opportunities for many aspects of American life.
The Transcontinental Railroad was the largest project the United States had ever seen.
Due to lack of technology, the enormous size of the project, and the environmental
conditions, the railroad seemed to be an impossible task. This construction project
posed a huge challenge to those working on it. The railroad s route would span
nearly seven hundred ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The amount of materials was also immense. Rails, railroad ties, lumber, and
provisions needed to be hauled over five hundred miles to get to where it needed to
be. The route had no natural provisions, so food and water needed to be hauled from
150 miles away to get to construction crews. In order to understand what it means to
build this railroad, one must understand all the obstacles railroad companies and
workers had to overcome. In Walt Winter s The First Transcontinental Railroad, Enid
Johnson says,
...In 1869, after a long, bitter and often terrifying struggle against Indian attacks,
brutal weather, floods, labor shortages, political chicanery, lawlessness and a war,
the first transcontinental railroad finally became a reality. Now the way was open
for vast expansion and social changes that would make America the industrial giant
of the world. ... One of the great engineering feats of history and ... a fascinating
chapter in the development of our country. This engineering feat paved the way for
expansion and social changes that would make America one of the industrial giants
of the world.
This railroad led to an economic boom during and soon after its construction. The
needs of the railroad generated hundreds of thousands of new jobs, new mines and
new markers. Railroad companies employed thousands of workmen to survey an
maintain the rails. Rails had to manufactured out of steel ,
Corn and Politics- The Numerous Benefits and Uses of
Corn...
A good percentage of the food in the supermarket is linked to a specific kind of
plant. This vegetable, which has many uses, is corn. Since the beginning of the
United States, corn has taken an important role in the development in the nation,
meaning that without corn this nation would not be the same. When the Europeans
came here, there were no real resources that they could exploit for the benefit of
their survival. But then one can ask the question, how did the Native Americans
survive before they were killed by the infectious viruses and diseases from the
Europeans? Well, as simple as it can be, corn was one of the prime elements for their
survival, it was one of their main agricultural products. The Europeans that came to

The United States is the greatest corn producer in the world. There are many
farmers who dedicate themselves to the art of growing corn and of course other
vegetables if they want to have some income. What is very surprising is that the
cost of growing corn, which includes planting the seeds, watering, insecticides, is
going to cost more money than the revenue it makes. No wonder that is why in the
supermarkets you can get a couple of corns for a dollar, which is sort of ironic
because in Latin American countries corn is kind of expensive. There are also some
farmers who only grow corn, but the only way for them to have some income is for
the government to give them some money.
In a recent study of the products in the supermarket more than a quarter of all
products, being edible or cosmetics contain corn. This goes from foods like
Twinkies, soda s and fruit juice too toothpaste, cosmetics and things like trash bags
and even cardboard. Corn is practically everywhere and is an important factor of
the United States economy. Ironically, even the chickens, and cows we eat also eat
corn. So practically when we eat a chicken, we eat corn, when we eat a cow, we eat
corn. These animals are fed corn in their daily life and this is where the term you
are what you eat apply. If we eat corn then we are corn.
If people s diets will show how they look like, then Americans are like walking corns.

Tender Offer Play
In the short play, Tender Offer by Wendy Wasserstein, is a drama play about a
father and daughter s relationship. Paul is a 35 year old businessman, who puts
work before anyone and isn t around much for his daughter Lisa. Lisa is a nine year
old girl who is all alone in the dance studio after her father missed her dancerecital.
Lisa and Paul don t spend enough familytime together since he is always too busy
with work. This leads to Lisa not wanting to spend time with him since she feels as
though he neglected her. In the beginning of the playthere is tension right away when
Lisa s father Paul finally shows up after missing her dance recital. He tries to tell
Lisa that he was sorry he was late (pg. 816), tries to joke around with her and be
friendly since he missed her dance recital. Even though he is trying to make Lisa

He thought that he could just apologize to her and then everything would be okay.
Well boy was he wrong! At first, he doesn t really realize how much by him
missing the dance recital effected Lisa. As the play goes on though, he comes to
realize that it really hurt Lisa and had an effect on her. He thought he could just
apologize to her and that everything would work out, but when that didn t work he
tried something else. He tried to be more friendly with her and joke around but
that still wasn t doing the trick. He ends up making Lisa a tender offer which leads
to him asking Lisa, if she d show him her dance recital (pg. 821). He ends up
dancing the other parts in her dance recital and in the end was able to lighten the
mood up before they went back home. Paul was finally able to realize that he needed
to spend more time with his daughter Lisa, so that they could have a better
relationship than what they had
Lab Experiment On The Effect Of Temperature On
Enzymes
Title: Effects of Temperature on Enzymes
Problem/Purpose: How does temperature affect the rate of enzyme activity on its
substrate?
Hypothesis: If the temperature increases, then rate of the chemical reaction will
increase as well, and if the temperature decreases, then the rate of reaction will also
decrease.
Data:
There were three test tubes in which the experiment was held. A relatively equal sized
portion of raw potato (this contained the enzyme [a biological catalyst] hydrogen
peroxidase) was placed in each tube. Then, enough water to cover the potato was
added. Proceeding this, each of the test tubes were assigned a temperature; cold, room
temperature or warm (this was written on the tag so that they were not confused). The
test tube destinated cold was placed in a ice bath for five minutes. At the same time,
the hot test tube was placed in a hot water bath for five minutes. Meanwhile, the
room temperature test tube sat at room temperature for five minutes. When the five
minutes were over, the test tubes were returned to the rack (so that they were able
to be observed). Then, the test tubes were allowed to sit at room temperature for five
more minutes. Once that period of time was over, 2 ml of hydrogen peroxide (the
substrate) was added to each tube.
Once this step was completed, a timer was started and observations were made.
Using the timer, how long cellular respiration (this was noted by the appearance of
gas in the tube) took to start was noted. Noted
Green Imagery In Sir Gawain And The Green Knight
In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, the speaker uses green imagery to suggest to the
reader that all challenges end in death and rebirth.
Green is mentioned a lot in this story. But why? Green is the color of a new start.
Green means go. It means that you get a fresh start to something you might ve been
struggling with. when sir Gawain first encounters the green knight, he and his peers
at the roundtable were all quick to assume the green knight came looking for a duel.
But the Green knight approached without armor. in fact he held in one hand a bough
of the holly that grows most green when the groves are bare. what kind of knight
would challenge someone with some plants in his hand? his game is said to start

The geographical location and the cultural traditions of the individuals involved in the
marriage relationship. The legalities of marriage can be confusing and overwhelming.
Before you get married, it is important to know the requirements for getting a
marriage license such as age, identification, costs for the license, etc. Laws
concerning marriage vary from state to state and country to country and change often.
1.6 Types of Marriage: In marriage there are 2 types of marriage:
Monogamy: Monogamy refers to the state of having only one mate at any one time;
the term is applied to the social behavior of some animals and to a form of marriage
in which an individual has only one spouse at any one time. In current usage
monogamy often refers to having one sexual partner irrespective of marriage or
reproduction. Recent discoveries have led biologists to talk about the three varieties
of monogamy: social monogamy, sexual monogamy, and genetic monogamy. The
distinction between these three is important to the modern understanding of
monogamy.
Social monogamy refers to two persons/creatures that live together, have sex with
each other, and cooperate in acquiring basic resources such as food, clothes, and
money.
Sexual monogamy refers to two persons/creatures that remain sexually exclusive with
each other and have no outside sex partners.
Genetic monogamy refers to two partners that only have offspring with each other.
Polygamy: several husbands or wives simultaneously
The Pros And Cons Of Operation Iraqi Freedom
Operation Iraqi Freedom saw a new rise in media censorship for embedded
journalists, before departing their country of origin and being embedded with a
military unit journalists were required to undergo joint training and sign contracts
vowing not to report information that could compromise unit position, future
missions, classified weapons, and information they might find during their time in
the field. When asked about the purpose of the embedded journalists and these new
restrictions Lt. Col. Rick Long of the U.S. Marine Corps replied Our job is to win
the war. Part of that is information warfare. So we are going to attempt to dominate
the information environment. Journalism from the front was no longer being used as
a method of information broadcasting for concerned families and civilians at home,
but to ensure proper reception of the war and shape public opinion not only in the
United States, but the world as a whole.
Information warfare and counter intelligence protocols ordered by the United State s
military were not entirely enacted by U.S. government officials. During the war in
Iraq and Afghanistan, the now defunct British Public Relations firm Bell Pottinger
Private was contracted for five hundred and forty million US dollars to produce false
terrorist videos and news update type videos targeting Al Qaida. This contract also
targeted Arab news outlets and produced pro US coalition propaganda. Furthermore,

Vaccines And The Diseases Of Vaccines
Vaccines and the diseases they are used for have been an incredible scientific feat that
has changed the way we live drastically. Before vaccines, people were dying rapidly
from many diseases that are now either eradicated or controlled. Vaccines have
saved millions of lives and are continuing to do so today. People no longer live in fear
of catching a disease from other people due to vaccinations and what they do to the
body. Diseases come in all shapes and sizes, and science has been able to successfully
create many vaccines for some of them. Many people who get a vaccinedo not know
what exactly they are. For example, most walk into the doctor s office and get a
shot then walk out and continue on with their lives. Most people do not understand
that a vaccine is a dead, or a weaker form of the virus used to create immunity to the
disease (How do Vaccines Work?). The body creates antibodies to attack and kill the
disease while memorizing it. This happens so that the next time the disease or virus
enters the system, the body can fight it off without the body getting sick. Vaccines
can be given in a variety of ways. Most commonly, they are given through injection.
The other ways one can get vaccinated are through oral, mucosal, and the nasal
passages (Brunson). There are many diseases that can be protected against through
vaccination.
The scientific discovery of vaccines happened hundreds of years ago. In the 1700 s,
the most prevalent disease that was killing people was
Literature Review On Hospital Readmissions
There are many articles related to hospital readmission, but this article looked at
readmissions with a different purpose. This article studied not only the reasons
behind hospital readmissions but also the timing and factors connected with
unplanned postoperative readmissions. Hospitals are or should be taking on the task
of reducing hospital readmissions as many insurance carriers including Medicare
penalize hospitals for readmissions within the first 30 days of discharge. Hospitals
must first know what is triggering a readmission and address the situation and create
a plan to reduce readmissions and the cost.
This author s point of view believes that determining the specific reason why
readmissions occur is critical to put a strategy in place to start reducing these
readmissions. The author felt that the study was a well organized study and would
provide valuable information to the hospitals who participated.
The study consisted of 346 continuously enrolled United State hospitals who were
also involved in the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality
Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP. The study included obesity surgery,
hysterectomy, total hip arthroplasty, total knee arthroplasty, colectomy, proctectomy,
ventral hernia repair, and lower leg vascular bypass. Data was collected by the ACS
NSQIP which included information on readmissions to the same facility or different
facility, if the readmission was unplanned, and the primary indication for the

2. Noah is organized.
3. He is artistic, and this is shown in his handwriting.
4. Good reading skills, especially fluency.
5. Likes to participate in extra curricular activities such as sports.
Description of Behavior(include a description of the frequency, duration, and intensity

1. Ongoing pattern of uncooperative defiant, hostile and annoying behavior towards
people in authority.
These behaviors do not appear at the beginning of the school year, but each year
appear to increase as Noah becomes familiar with the school setting for the school
year. The behaviors appear to continue to increase in number and intensity with
each discipline he receives. As teachers make more demands on Noah, he appears
to have more difficulties with his behavior. Once a teacher addresses the issue with
Noah, it appears that he is unable to readjust and reframe his behavior. Behaviors
will escalate until he is requested to leave the room. Once he enters the office
because of his behavior, Noah refuses to comply with instruction. Typically, he sits in
the in school suspension (ISS) room and goofs off, refusing to do his work.
It appears that Noah will repeat the same behaviors with certain
Herbert Hoover s Stock Market Crash
The 1929 Stock Market Crash We d like to thank you, Herbert Hoover/ For really
showing us the way/ You dirty rat, you Bureaucrat, you/ Made us what we are today
(www.stlyrics.com). These lyrics from the musical Annie place the blame for the
1929 Stock Market Crash solely on the then former president Herbert Hoover. The
truth of the matter is that placing the blame for the Stock MarketCrash on Mr. Hoover
is very unfair. Herbert Hoover was only one of many causes of the Stock Market
Crash. It is easy to try to place the blame for one of the most destructive events in
the history of the American economy on one person, but the real causes lie in the
rampant speculation, the lack of regulation of the stock market, and the
questionable ethics of many of the companies and brokers that were involved in
the market. Although the 1929 Stock Market Crash is generally blamed on a few
scapegoats, it was actually caused by a multitude of factors, which makes finding a
scapegoat impossible. While there may be some arguments among historians,
speculation is obviously one of the major causes of the Crash. Speculation (In the
context of the stock market) is the buying of stocks with the purpose of profiting
not from the dividends that the stock pays, but by the fluctuations in the price
(Axon 31). Speculation is often looked down upon by the market as a profession, as
it is seen as a form of gambling with possible serious repercussions. The secret is that
speculation is actually

The Tower Of The Ruins Of Jericho
Stairs are one of the oldest structures in architectural history. They have always
been an important part of a building or structure because without them you wouldn
t be able to get from the bottom to the top or vice versa. There is no actual answer
of when the very first set of stairs was created. But there has been several sources
say that the oldest surviving stairs are found in the ruins of Jericho. There are
claims that these stairs are over 7,000 years old. This could mean that stairs were
at the very birth of civilization itself. One of the first types of stairs used in history
were not made on purpose but were just worn down when they were used as rocks
to climb on or foot holes to get around easier. There was a time when chopped
wood trunks constructed together to make levels, but these were not used in
buildings, they were used to overcome the difficulties of the harsh terrain of the
mountains and valleys. These were used as a survival tool the less time you had
moving around in the harsh woods when you could use the tree trunks to get to a
higher and safer place. At the start stairs ad started off as a survival tool, then
moved onto having purpose for people to get from on area to another used a
necessity in a building or structure, to being the core design feature of a building.
They were made only for a purpose not for a design feature of a structure. The
changes in stairs have varied over the years as to who designed them and the different

Contrary to what most people will tell you, you can never bathe your dog too often.
Water helps to relieve your dog s skin and keeps it healthy. It also rinses off
allergens from their body. Different kinds of shampoos are available to treat allergies,
depending, of course, on your pet s particular condition.
Treatment
Corticosteroids are also a useful for controlling allergies by reducing the
inflammation in your dog s skin. Although it will weaken the immune system a bit,
it is often necessary in order to treat the allergy. Some side effects are increased
appetite and drinking, and higher chances of developing infections. It is therefore
not recommended for long term use. If a longer duration of use is necessary, your
pet has to have regular check up on his/her blood and urine.
Prednisone, a short acting steroid, can be used orally and is safer than the long acting
steroids. Taken with antihistamines and Omega fatty acids and frequent bathing, these
short acting steroids can be used effectively in the least amount
Ancient Roman Pottery Research Paper
Ancient Roman pottery revolutionized household pots and pans developing an
arrange of table ware. The Roman art began with Etruscan style pottery, all black,
molded decorations on ceramic pieces, unlike Greek pieces which was painted on.
Pottery was manufactured near where the demand for the product was for easy
access. For example, areas in Southern Italy typical used black slip with a red fabric
over. For identification of trade, certain inscriptions and symbols were stamped into
the pieces. The Romans commonly used what is known as Black Glaze pottery. Other
techniques of ceramic ware were known as Thin Walled and Lead Glazed ware.
Mass production of the ceramic pieces using plaster molds became an extremely
efficient and cheap way to

So that risk handling activities may be planned and invoked as needed across the
life of the product or project to mitigate adverse impacts on achieving objectives by
addressing risk throughout the life cycle of a system or software product or service.
It can be applied to risks related to the development, maintenance or operation of a
system. Risk management can be classified into three parts
Defining a risk management strategy
Identifying and analysing risks
Handling and implementation of risk mitigation plans
Outcomes
As a result of successful implementation of the Risk management process:
Objective 1: Determine the scope of risk management that is to be performed.
Objective 2: Risk management strategies are defined and implemented.
Objective 3: Risks that are identified during developing process of the project.
Objective 4: Prioritizing the risks and treatment of the risks is analysed.
Objective 5: Risk measures are defined, applied, and assessed to determine changes in

Natives were not only thrown into an unknown land, but were also killed in large numbers while changing their culture trying to fit in. The United States was nothing but rude to these people who owned the land centuries before the first Englishman ever stepped foot in America. The United Statesdestroyed these societies to shreds without ever really giving them a good chance to live among the Americans. I believe the United States should have treated these Native Americans better instead of almost completely demolishing millions of innocent people trying to adapt to these new ways of life. Ever since Christopher Columbus first came to America in 1492, the natives were known to have been in this new found land first. When the voyage from Europe first arrived, they thought they had landed in India, so when they saw the natives, the colonists gave them the title of Indians . After discovering India was actually a whole new land, these natives were seen as helpful and kind and the newcomers to America wanted to learn from and teach these uncivilized people their ways and culture to become more civilized. The strange Native Americans spoke a different language, were almost naked, and lived among the land in tents unlike the stone packed cities in Europe. The colonists, like Francis Daniel Pastorius from Pennsylvania in 1700, had given them an even more undignified name,

Although I can clearly see that the subject I teach covers the instrumentalism theories and therefore is government funded I do think overall it puts a lot of pressure on the tutoar to teach by means of assessment and ticking the right boxes to keep the funding there and due to time frames it does not leave much scope to develop a person. Typically, the budget preparation process begins in mid July when budget documents and instructions are distributed by the Finance Department to the each city department. The various departments have approximately three weeks to assess any budget goals, capital and personnel requests, and to complete projections for the current fiscal year. By mid August, the Finance Department completes a preliminary review of the departments budget, personnel and capital requests. The City Administrator then meets with the Finance Director to review any requests, and schedules one on one meetings with each department head. As the first organization in Missouri to implement Priority Based Budgeting, prior to their administrative review each department head is encouraged to perform a review of programs offered by their department and to establish what programs are not meeting the results identified by the board. The purpose of this process is to allow for reallocation of resources to programs that are determined to need more funding, in place of simply incrementally increasing the departmental line item budget. Aside from simply eliminating the programs that are not achieving desired results, the directors are encouraged to develop solutions to how the identified programs may perform more efficiently. Duty Of Care And Diligence |Duty of Care and diligence | Concepts and standards of duty of care and diligence have changed significantly in contemporary society and these are regulated in the general law and corporate legislation with slightly difference (Ramsay, 1997). Legislation focuses on the appropriateness of the practice of directors, while general law concentrates on the foreseeability of the consequent damage. As per s 180 (1) of Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) defines, directors or other officers must exercise their rights and undertake their responsibilities with a duty of care and diligence, otherwise, they are negligent of duty. The line of Antigonus would rule Macedon into the middle of the second century BC, when the kingdom was overcome by a myriad of problems, both internal and external. The reasons for the decline and eventual annexation of the Kingdom of Macedon include the weakening of the Macedonian army, the chaotic political order in Macedonia, and the rising might of Rome. The downfall of the Kingdom took nearly 40 years to achieve, and thus no single reason may be looked to as the cause of Macedon s annihilation as an independent country. Dr. Hoffman was also a poet who wrote stories for his three year old son. Hendrick s story, The Story of the Fidgety Philip accurately described a little boy who had Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (What is ADHD). During the early 1900 s, Sir George Still, a British pediatrician, published lectures to the Royal College of Physicians in England (What is ADHD). It is now divided into three subtypes, based off of the main features that are associated with the disorder: impulsivity, hyperactivity, and inattentiveness (Attention Deficit Disorder). The subtypes of AD/HD are the Predominantly Combined Type, Predominantly Inattentive Type, and Predominantly Hyperactive Impulsive Type. The Predominantly Combined type of ADHD is the most common out of the three. Individuals who have this type have symptoms from Predominantly Inattentive ADHD and Predominantly Hyperactive Impulsive ADHD (Types of ADHD). Some symptoms include not listening and being unable to follow or understand instructions, whether simple or easy. Predominantly Inattentive ADHD has symptoms such not paying attention to detail, being distracted or forgetful, and avoiding tasks that involve effort (Types of ADHD). In order to be diagnosed with this type of ADHD, one must have at least six of the nine symptoms as well as a few of the Hyperactive Impulsive Type of ADHD. The Hyperactive Impulsive type deals with symptoms such as fidgeting, squirming, and speaking too much (Types of ADHD). This vegetable, which has many uses, is corn. Since the beginning of the United States, corn has taken an important role in the development in the nation, meaning that without corn this nation would not be the same. When the Europeans came here, there were no real resources that they could exploit for the benefit of their survival. But then one can ask the question, how did the Native Americans survive before they were killed by the infectious viruses and diseases from the Europeans? There are many farmers who dedicate themselves to the art of growing corn and of course other vegetables if they want to have some income. What is very surprising is that the cost of growing corn, which includes planting the seeds, watering, insecticides, is going to cost more money than the revenue it makes. No wonder that is why in the supermarkets you can get a couple of corns for a dollar, which is sort of ironic because in Latin American countries corn is kind of expensive. There are also some farmers who only grow corn, but the only way for them to have some income is for the government to give them some money. In a recent study of the products in the supermarket more than a quarter of all products, being edible or cosmetics contain corn. This goes from foods like Twinkies, soda s and fruit juice too toothpaste, cosmetics and things like trash bags and even cardboard. Corn is practically everywhere and is an important factor of the United States economy. Ironically, even the chickens, and cows we eat also eat corn. So practically when we eat a chicken, we eat corn, when we eat a cow, we eat corn. These animals are fed corn in their daily life and this is where the term you are what you eat apply. Hypothesis: If the temperature increases, then rate of the chemical reaction will increase as well, and if the temperature decreases, then the rate of reaction will also decrease. Data: There were three test tubes in which the experiment was held. A relatively equal sized portion of raw potato (this contained the enzyme [a biological catalyst] hydrogen peroxidase) was placed in each tube. Then, enough water to cover the potato was added. Proceeding this, each of the test tubes were assigned a temperature; cold, room temperature or warm (this was written on the tag so that they were not confused). The test tube destinated cold was placed in a ice bath for five minutes. At the same time, the hot test tube was placed in a hot water bath for five minutes. Meanwhile, the room temperature test tube sat at room temperature for five minutes. When the five minutes were over, the test tubes were returned to the rack (so that they were able to be observed). Then, the test tubes were allowed to sit at room temperature for five more minutes. Once that period of time was over, 2 ml of hydrogen peroxide (the substrate) was added to each tube. Once this step was completed, a timer was started and observations were made. Using the timer, how long cellular respiration (this was noted by the appearance of gas in the tube) took to start was noted. Noted

When asked about the purpose of the embedded journalists and these new restrictions Lt. Col. Rick Long of the U.S. Marine Corps replied Our job is to win the war. Part of that is information warfare. So we are going to attempt to dominate the information environment. Journalism from the front was no longer being used as a method of information broadcasting for concerned families and civilians at home, but to ensure proper reception of the war and shape public opinion not only in the United States, but the world as a whole. Information warfare and counter intelligence protocols ordered by the United State s military were not entirely enacted by U.S. government officials. • 36. Vaccines And The Diseases Of Vaccines Vaccines and the diseases they are used for have been an incredible scientific feat that has changed the way we live drastically. Before vaccines, people were dying rapidly from many diseases that are now either eradicated or controlled. Vaccines have saved millions of lives and are continuing to do so today. People no longer live in fear of catching a disease from other people due to vaccinations and what they do to the body. Diseases come in all shapes and sizes, and science has been able to successfully create many vaccines for some of them. Many people who get a vaccinedo not know what exactly they are. For example, most walk into the doctor s office and get a shot then walk out and continue on with their lives. Most people do not understand that a vaccine is a dead, or a weaker form of the virus used to create immunity to the disease (How do Vaccines Work?). The body creates antibodies to attack and kill the disease while memorizing it. This happens so that the next time the disease or virus enters the system, the body can fight it off without the body getting sick. Vaccines can be given in a variety of ways. Most commonly, they are given through injection. The other ways one can get vaccinated are through oral, mucosal, and the nasal passages (Brunson). There are many diseases that can be protected against through vaccination. The scientific discovery of vaccines happened hundreds of years ago. In the 1700 s, the most prevalent disease that was killing people was

This article studied not only the reasons behind hospital readmissions but also the timing and factors connected with unplanned postoperative readmissions. Hospitals are or should be taking on the task of reducing hospital readmissions as many insurance carriers including Medicare penalize hospitals for readmissions within the first 30 days of discharge. Hospitals must first know what is triggering a readmission and address the situation and create a plan to reduce readmissions and the cost. This author s point of view believes that determining the specific reason why readmissions occur is critical to put a strategy in place to start reducing these readmissions. The author felt that the study was a well organized study and would provide valuable information to the hospitals who participated. The study consisted of 346 continuously enrolled United State hospitals who were also involved in the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP. The study included obesity surgery, hysterectomy, total hip arthroplasty, total knee arthroplasty, colectomy, proctectomy, ventral hernia repair, and lower leg vascular bypass. These lyrics from the musical Annie place the blame for the 1929 Stock Market Crash solely on the then former president Herbert Hoover. The truth of the matter is that placing the blame for the Stock MarketCrash on Mr. Hoover is very unfair. Herbert Hoover was only one of many causes of the Stock Market Crash. It is easy to try to place the blame for one of the most destructive events in the history of the American economy on one person, but the real causes lie in the rampant speculation, the lack of regulation of the stock market, and the questionable ethics of many of the companies and brokers that were involved in the market. Although the 1929 Stock Market Crash is generally blamed on a few scapegoats, it was actually caused by a multitude of factors, which makes finding a scapegoat impossible. While there may be some arguments among historians, speculation is obviously one of the major causes of the Crash. Speculation (In the context of the stock market) is the buying of stocks with the purpose of profiting not from the dividends that the stock pays, but by the fluctuations in the price (Axon 31). Speculation is often looked down upon by the market as a profession, as it is seen as a form of gambling with possible serious repercussions. The secret is that speculation is actually
