Differences Of Squid And Octopus
What is these creatures? Squid and Octopus are categories in sub marine animal. Squid and Octopus
are still one family, both of these animals are The Cephalopoda family. What is Cephalopoda?
Cephalopods, is the class of mollusks which scientists classify octopuses, squid, cuttlefish and
nautiluses, can change color faster than a chameleon. They can also change texture and body shape,
and, and if those camouflage techniques don t work, they can still disappear in a cloud of ink, which
they use as a smoke screen or decoy. (Wood,2017) This species is common find in ocean or seas
anywhere. Both of it are interesting sea creatures, but they are differed in their physical characteristic

Octopuses and squids can swim in any direction and can alter their course quickly. Squids use fins
located on their heads to propel themselves when swimming at low speeds. These fins steer and
stabilize the squids when moving slowly, and wrap around the body when they move quickly, by way
of jet propulsion. Most octopuses do not have fins as adults. Some deep water octopuses are
exceptions. (Octopuses Squids,n.d)
How do octopuses and squids reproduce? The male octopus uses a specialized arm called a
hectocotylus to transfer sperm to the mantle cavity of a receptive female. The female lays strings of
fertilized eggs on the roof of her den. She guards, cleans and aerates the eggs with water expelled
from her siphon until hatching. This can be anywhere from 30 days to a year, depending on the
species. The female may build a wall of rocks to seal off the den and will remain in the den until just
before she dies, after the eggs have hatched. Squids often mate in large groups, and attach their egg
capsules to the ocean floor or to seaweed. Most adult octopuses and squid die after reproducing. Their
bodies are recycled in the food web, nourishing other animals, and ultimately providing food for their
young when they hatch. (Octopuses

Robby Real Estate Bubble Flipped Case Study
Has the NYC Real Estate Bubble Popped? Some of the largest cities in the world seem to have
experienced real estate market peaks. Has this phenomena hit The Big Apple? All indicators say yes .
According to Bloomberg, the vacancy rates in New York City were at 2.87%, up from 2.31% reported
last year. While you may not think that is that big of a deal, that 2.87% is the highest the vacancy rate
has been in the city since August of 2006. This increase indicates that tenants have reached the limit
on what they can pay. Not hard to see that when you take into consideration that in November, the
monthly rent for an apartment had climbed nearly 4% from the previous year. The cost of leasing is
even higher, it jumped up 18%. On the other hand,

Symptoms And Treatment Of The Vocal Fold Polyps
Introduction Vocal fold polyps are common in the general population. They affect the vibratory vocal
fold function resulting in significant dysphonia which are often surgically correctable. They are
confined to the superficial lamina propria (SLP) of the vocal folds . Nowadays , phonomicrosurgery is
the most common treatment of vocal fold polyps , and became a new standard of care to remove
pathology in these cases without scar formation . The term phonomicrosurgery was introduced in 1994
, the principle of which lies in maximal preservation of the layered microstructure of the vocal folds ,
that is the epithelium and superficial lamina propria (SLP) . Physicians prescribe antireflux therapy in
the form of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) after phonomicrosurgery for vocal fold polyps depending
on the base that laryngopharyngeal reflux(LPR) plays an important role in pathogenesis of benign
vocal fold mucosal lesion including polyps. Liquid alginate has been used in the treatment of
symptoms of reflux disease with promising results for many years, sometimes in combination with H2
receptor antagonists or proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It is effective by producing a mechanical
antireflux barrier within the fundus of the stomach.. The formation of barrier reduces the risk of
further symptoms due to reflux of gastric contents into the oesophagus so , combination of proton
pump inhibitors ( PPIs) and liquid alginate is expected to give

Analysis Of Judith Slaying Holofernes
Judith Slaying Holofernes by Artemisia Gentileschi ultimately painted one of the most violent
representations of Judith in the history of art (Straussman Pflanzer, 12). Gentileschi was the only
woman painter of the Baroque period in her time. She was born in Rome in 1593 to Orazio
Gentileschi and Prudenzia Montoni. Artemisia was a follower of Caravaggio, whom art is frequently
considered primarily in terms of its naturalism (Straussman Pflanzer, 13). She also learned the
principles of art from her father and the basic perspective from Tassi.
In Judith Slaying Holofernes the woman represented in a yellow costly garment is no other than Judith
a Jewish widow. Despite her beauty for deceiving men, she is very brutal in revenge. By easily
gaining her way through the Assyrians she gracefully grabs the attention of the General Holofernes,
and then kills him by slicing through his neck with his own sword. She is then the heroine figure for
Bethulia, Jerusalem, the Temple, and the people (Judith 8:11 12).
The story of Judith is told to be a young religious widow from the Jewish city of Bethulia, chops off
the head of Holofernes, general of the Assyrian army that had attacked her city. Robin Gallaher
Branch states that Judith told the Bethulia leaders to meet her at her home where she could discuss to
them her plan on how to save the city from thirst by the enemy (Branch, 1). After getting the approval
from her city leaders they acclaim her for her wisdom and released her and

Exploring American Culture´s Dark Spot Essay
Exploring American culture s dark spot
Educational expectations may create academic dishonesty incentive Jay Z, Jay Gatsby, and Al Capone
all reside in the same weak place in the hearts of Americans. These three men represent our nation s
twisted admiration for masterful cheaters. Americans are intrigued by these men, seduced by their risk
taking and their subsequent success and fame. The majority of society is not made up of criminals,
gamblers, or drug dealers. But cheating is prominent on a smaller scale, in more realistic acts.
Recently, educational cheating scandals seem to be gripping the nation, or at least the media. One
explanation for recently publicized academic dishonesty is that students feel ... Show more content on

200 educators from 40 schools were involved in a cheating scandal in Atlanta. At one school,
educators had weekend pizza parties to correct wrong answers on test documents together. As a result,
the school s scores increased 45 percent. We were told to get these scores by any means necessary. We
were told our jobs were on the line, said Sidnye Fells, a fourth grade teacher in Atlanta to ABC news.
In 2004, educators encouraged 500 high school students in Alabama to drop out before the test to
increase the school s score. Some public school activists attribute teachers cheating scandals to the
high expectations of standardized tests. Across the country, educators and parents have participated in
protests against heavy reliance on standardized test scores in deciding a teacher or school s success.
Standardized tests provide administrators and state government with an objective evaluation of
students knowledge.
Ohio will implement the new teacher evaluation system in the 2014 2015 school year. Teacher
performance ratings will comprise 50 percent of the evaluation. The remaining 50 percent relies on
improvements in student test scores. Teachers will receive one of four possible grades: accomplished,
skilled, developing, and ineffective. Each district s board of education must decide how teacher s
evaluations will be used to determine promotions and terminations. Quote from Sycamore Teacher

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Exchange Rate...
Definition:
Exchange rates: Price of one currency, in terms of another currency.
Example: 1.23 SGD/USD
This means that 1 USD is worth 1.23 SGD.
This can also be written as 0.813 USD/SGD.
Exchange rate regimes:
Exchange rates can have a fixed rate regime, floating regime, or managed floating regime.
Fixed Exchange rate regimes:
In this, government agrees to buy and sell unlimited amount of the currency at a fixed price. Example:
Thai bhat before 1998.
This effectively fixes the price of the currency.
You cannot buy for cheaper because the seller would rather sell to government at higher price.
You cannot buy at a higher price because you can always purchase cheaper from government.

The For The Nation And Its People Through The Various...
Hosea still had hope for the nation and its people through the various counts of sin. Hosea once again
invited the Israelites to repent for their sins for restoration. God promised them healing and blessing in
return. He used agricultural terms to describe the future blessings and repentance of Israel which
gained their attention, since they had a religion dedicated to a god that provided agriculture fertility
(Arnold and Beyer, pg. 434). God had redemptive plans for the unfaithful people (2: 6 15).
God had three therefore clauses to win back His people. He chooses to act in grace, in preference of
anger. His first therefore is to frustrate Israel over Baal by degrading his power, as if he had none, in
hope of the people giving up on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are breaking their covenant with God by doing what was prohibited in the Ten Commandments,
which summarize the covenant requirements. The people curse (take God s name in vain), lie, murder,
steal, commit adultery, and break all the boundaries laid out to regulate their covenant relationship
with God (Smith, pp. 84). Hosea had preached that behavior reveals true faith and love. He brought up
the many different kinds of issues because he was attempting to teach the people that faith and
community actions are a mirror of each other (Smith, pp. 84).
The second part of the covenant lawsuits include a course of accusations of sinfulness (6:7 7:16), an
explanation of the punishments the nation will endure (8:1 9:17), and a final message of hope (11:1
11). He provides a broad framework of the punishments of the people who deceived God by not
maintaining their covenant with Him. The priests and political leaders are called out for being big
contributors to the broken covenants and destroyed the nation. They turn away from God, and lead
others to do so as well. There is a great deal of accusations Hosea strives to expose towards these cruel
and untrustworthy leaders . The great amount of sins creates the idea that restoration is impossible.
This discrepancy of faith leads to the violent imagery God has provided which is full of judgment
because that is what Israel has done to God. Those who reject God and turn to dishonest and disloyal
leaders will experience his

Frida Kahlo Editing Techniques
The documentary Portrait of an Artist by Frida Kahlo is easily seen as an old film due to the simple
editing techniques. Despite this, the film still accurately portrays the artist s life in the famous Blue
House outside of Mexico City. She shared this home with her husband Diego Rivera, who was a
famous muralist and painter. Frida Kahlo s full name was Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón
de Rivera. She was born in Coyoacán, Mexico on July 6, 1907. She ended up changed her birth year to
1910 in order to associate herself more with being a product of the Mexican Revolution. Her father
was a Hungarian Jew who immigrated from Germany to Mexico. He married a Mexican woman of
both Native and Spanish descent. As a child Frida would go with her father on his photography
assignments and to his studio. All the while she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

commissions. They had a confusing kind of open relationship which could have been the cause of
their divorce in 1939. Yet surprisingly they remarried the following year. Kahlo s life was riddled with
tragedy. When she was 7, Frida was diagnosed with polio which left her with a smaller and thinner

her pelvis to break and her spine in three places. She spent most of her life hospitalized and in bed.

haunted by this incident and suffered a gangrenous leg, which was amputated. After this her condition

Evaluative Criteria
From our discussions on options and minimum requirements, I will evaluate each of the options with
the following criteria:
Net cost i.e. the cost after financial aid and scholarships are accounted for
Application requirements
Quality of curriculum
Graduation rate
Internship Opportunities
Ease of being hired post graduation
Quality of jobs found post graduation
The last four criteria will evaluate the job prospects for your daughter post graduation, which you have

Risks for Key Stakeholders
When employees make some suggestions in the consultation meeting, but do not respond through the

because the supervisor may think employees not to regard to his feelings. Thus, it will seriously affect

Formation Of The New Government Essay
Formation of the New Government
After the American Revolutionary War, the colonists needed a government so no one could take away
their power. There were several things the colonists needed to do to accomplish this task. Here is how
the United States Constitution overcame the weaknesses of The Articles of Confederation and
provided the organization a new government. They started by gaining a strong government, providing
power, and ended by giving the United States more abilities. Sense The Articles of Confederation was
the first government in the U.S. it made the central government weak. This was when the Continental
Congress made a plan for the nation. On the other hand, there was the Constitutional Convention. This
point in time was when representatives created The Great Compromise and Three Fifths Compromise.
In the Debate Over the Constitution you were either a federalist or anti federalist which meant you
either supported or opposed to the new constitution.

was when the government needed nine states to approve for the Constitution to go into effect and the
big argument between the federalists and antifederalists due to the Constitution. All in all if this all
was to never happen there could be a chance that we are not here today. The United States would not
be what makes us. But, because it happened we all have individual freedom and are what we are. So,

Rikkki Tikki Gi Movie And Movie Analysis
Curiosity is the best word to describe a mongoose, this is because mongooses like to explore the world
around them and mongoose are so curious that they rarely get frightened, as also explained in the
Rikki Tikki Tavi story. People around the world might know that every mongoose has to fight a snake
once in a lifetime since mongoose like to eat snakes. Although some mongooses like to eat insects,
lizards, birds, and rodents. While others like the Indian mongoose like to eat snakes especially cobras.

The story only gives brief descriptions, but the movie adds or gives more detail to the setting. The
story states that, One day, a high summer flood washed him out of the burrow... (Kipling 143). While
the movie represented the high summer flood as a thunderstorm, in a jungle( movie 00:21). If it was a
high summer flood, then why would the movie include thunder noise or the noises of scarred
animals(movie 00:29). This three evidence points out the difference of how a movie represents the
wording of the story. In conclusion the setting of the story changes a little because the movie specifies
the setting. Thirdly, the resolution of the story and the movie doesn t change, because both are part of
the same story, if the resolution were to change, the story wouldn t make sense. Both medium
resolutions are about what Rikki Tikki did to defeat Nagaina, like killing her eggs. As the text shows,
Nagaina saw that she had lost her chance of killing Teddy, and the egg lay between Rikki Tikki s paws
( Kipling 154). Another piece of evidence is shown in the movie, where Rikki Tikki smashes the eggs,
but keeps the last egg and shows the egg to Nagaina( movie 19:07). The resolution also has to do with
how Nagaina died or how the text states never came back. As told by the story his little white teeth
were clenched on her tail and he went down with her and very few mongooses, however wise and old
they may be, care to follow a cobra into its hole ( Kipling 155). As

First movement has solo passages extending into long sections; alternated between four or five
ritornello sections. First movement constructed in a variant of ritornello form with a double
exposition.
Violin is preferred concerto solo instrument although the harpsichord becomes more and more popular
throughout the century. The newly prominent piano takes over as the most popular solo instrument.
Composers rely heavily on ritornello form. More freedom in the form although a sinfonia proper is
later developed.
The melody is made up of long, drawn out phrases. The melodies are shorter motifs.
Minuet and trio third movement. Minuet and trio is left out of the dramatic symphonic form.
Expansion of Music in the 20th Century
There are many elements that led to the expansion of music in the 20th Century. In some ways these
elements were all linked to each other and it is difficult to say what events or ideas triggered the huge
development of music. For example, World War I and II in the first half of the century lead to the rapid
development of technology and communications as well as, eventually, political and social freedom,
all aspects which have created changes and growth. The great advances in technology were in part
responsible for globalism, although nationalism was also partly a product of the wars. The advent of
the Great Wars also produced great emotion.

Employee Teacher Reflection
Portfolio
It has now come to my understanding that as a trainee teacher, it is vital that I become a reflective
practitioner when fostering the role of a teacher. In support of this, Tripp (2012, p.12) adds that being
reflective is an essential part of the development of professional judgement . He continues to state that
one must be able to examine and critique their teaching to build on their own professional values and
ideas.
It is through this theory that as a trainee teacher, I must be able to examine my own critical incident
from my school based training placement (SBT1). I will be employing Tripp s four approaches of
analysis Thinking Strategies, The Why? Challenge, Dilemma Identification and Personal Theory
Analysis (Tripp, 2012, pp. 43 54). However, before I start my analysis, it is important to identify what
a critical incident is. Tripp (2012) states that critical incidents are shaped by the way we look at a
situation. He further adds that a critical incident is an interpretation of the significance of an event (p.
8).
The context of my incident took place in a year four class within the Borough of Barking and
Dagenham. It consisted of me teaching a whole class Literacy lesson where the majority of the pupils
were considered or categorised as having English as an additional language.

Thomas Alva Edison was a man of great talent and determination. A mind of absolute genius that
withheld spectacular and innovative ideas that Edison, himself, could not wait to share with the world.
The list of inventions and developments Edison is often known for are countless. Creations such as,
the electric light, the telephone transmitter, the phonograph, motion picture, electric storage battery,
and mimeograph machine, are just a mere few of his 1,093 United States patents and thousands more,
from twenty four different nations. Many of Edison s ideas were beyond the world s understanding.
Today, his inventions have greatly influenced the twentieth century, more than one could ever
imagine.
Thomas Edison was born February 11, 1847, in Milan, Ohio. He lived in Milan for seven years, until
his father decided to further his career and start a business in Port Huron, Michigan. Here, he spent
most of his childhood in a small, red brick home. At this home, Thomas found what he is known for
today. Due to Edison struggle in school and inept in mathematics, his mother, a former teacher,
decided to homeschool him. Though bad at school, Edison was eager to read, especially science
books. His love of science, lead him to start doing chemical and mechanical experiments in the
basement of his small home. This might have been the best decision his mother could have made for

One of the most debated topics in modern society today is equality. Most everyone agrees that all
people are equal, however, most everyone is also implicitly biased about genders whenever it comes
to careers. For example, imagine for a moment a random piano teacher. What gender did you
automatically think of them as? You more than likely initially imaged a female piano teacher. Now,
imagine a random surgeon/ doctor. What gender did you automatically see them as? You probably
imaged them as a male. If so, you are experiencing implicit gender bias. Unfortunately, you are not
alone in this; society itself implicitly assigns males to scientific careers and women to liberal arts.
Implicit bias are the completely unconscious stereotypes and attitudes we have towards society that
affects our decisions and understanding of things. The key word in that definition is unconscious.
Most people do not even realize they hold this bias; you might not have even realized you were
experiencing this bias until reading this paragraph. This ignorance is one of the main reasons this bias
is still occurring on a daily basis to most of humanity, and it is the main reason there is such a gender
divide in careers today. It is hypothesized that helping people identify their implicit bias (specifically
gender career bias) and providing them with basic education and strategies on the topic itself will
reduce their gender career bias. The rather recent development of social media has been helpful to

Political Satire In Rob Sitch s Fat Chance
Analyse the way in which satire can provoke and engage its audiences. Through skillful manipulation
of language, irony and wit, satirical texts seek to highlight humanity s various vices and shortcomings,
and in so doing comment on prevailing social norms and attitudes. , Political satire, in particular, seeks
to elicit social awareness of the vices and foibles of political institutions, and through commentary that
ranges from mockery to condemnation, provides insight into the internal machinations and moral and
ideological ambiguity of politics. Rob Sitch s 2008 mockumentary The Hollowmenexposes the

The premise of the episode is a snap policy decision made on talkback radio to fight obesity by the
nameless, faceless prime minister. Making a wry comment on Australian politics, Sitch represents the
PM s uninspiring private secretary Tony and the other political advisors as the hollow men of
Australian politics. This is unequivocally conveyed through the verisimilitude of the time date
[quote/example], and panning images of Canberra. In naming the PM s advisors the central policy unit
or CPU , Sitch mocks the bureaucratic jargon which seems to define the policy making process. This
is further developed through constant use of political jargon, where the prime minister announces new
policy with a series of meaningless phrases such as raft of measures , speaking to all stakeholders ,
and provisional policy . , The superficial, short sighted and self serving nature of political decisions
humourously conveyed through the advisor Mel s concern, should we announce it at a hospital or at

The Christian Subculture
The definition of a subculture is a cultural group within a larger culture. By this statement, I am a part
of the Christianity subculture. This has proven to be paramount to my attitude and behavior. For
example, the doctrine that is taught dictates the way I interact with others verbally, the way I treat
others, the way I feel as a person, and how my emotions are shown. With regards to verbal interaction,
the Holy Bible says Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good
to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Ephesians 4:29 (KJV) . I do my best

As stated earlier, the verse taken from Luke 6:31 is a perfect quote to describe the way I treat others.
Most people would want to be treated with kindness, respect, and courtesy. I believe that I do this
well. By treating people this way, I am in turn treated similarly. This is commonly known as, The
Golden Rule . The way I feel as a person is directly affected by the scripture of God. These things I
have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of
good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33 (KJV) . This verse is essentially telling us to be
happy, and to have peace. I believe that this is done well, and shown through my actions. I consider
myself to be a happy, and an enthusiastic person. Being happy is a great feeling, and I take pride in the
fact that I can be happy despite anything that is metaphorically thrown at me. These ideals are a
component to the way I handle my emotions. He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he
that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city. Proverbs 16:32 (KJV) This is one of the many verses
that tell us to control our emotions. There are also many verses that give us advice for any emotion
that we are feeling. If you are feeling depressed, anxious, or are feeling any form of negative emotion,
you can consult the Bible,

The Challenges, Solutions, Models, Tools And Tools
Introduction
This paper presents a systematic literature review of the challenges, solutions, models, tools and an
example in Distributed Software Development (DSD). The objective is to collect and systematize
reported knowledge in terms of what are the difficulties in managing DSD projects, what are the best
practices to overcome these difficulties, and how existing models and tools support these practices.
The DSD is a phenomenon with considerable interest from companies all over the world where the
stakeholders from different national and organizational cultures are involved in developing software.
As part of the globalization efforts currently pervading society, software project team members have
become geographically distributed. However, DSD is technologically and organizationally complex
and presents a variety of challenges to be managed by the software development team. [1]
As distributed environments have become the norm for software development, coordinating the efforts
of development teams has become one of the biggest challenges faced by the enterprise today. It is
hard to imagine any sizable development project managed without an underlying software
configuration management tool.Teams situated at different geographical locations, including offshore,
collaborate using communication technologies to develop interrelated software modules that are
integrated in shared project workspaces. The software design process involves many iterative cycles of
development

Impact Of Charles Lindbergh In The 1920s
The 1920s was a decade of drastic change in the United States, with many new conflicts, leisure
activities, and heroes to worship (Nash 374). Charles Lindbergh was one of these heroes. Born in
1902, he was trained in aviation and worked as an airmail pilot (Bishop). Later, he made history by
becoming the first person to fly across the Atlantic Ocean alone (Nash 388). On May twenty first,
1927, Lindbergh traveled from New York to Le Bourget field in Paris in his plane, the Spirit of St.
Louis (James). He designed this plane himself, working to make it as small and lightweight as
possible (Kessner Charles Lindbergh, A New Hero ). Known as the lone eagle , Lindbergh became one
of the biggest celebrities of the era (Chamberlain). His flight caused more excitement than any other
event of its time (Nash 388). Approximately 25,000 people were at Le Bourget field to watch
Lindbergh land (James). Upon returning to the United States, there were numerous parades and
dinners to honor his achievement ( Lindbergh Visit Ends ). Charles Lindbergh was the most influential
hero to emerge from the 1920s, making an impact by transforming aviation, as well as acting as a role
model for the American public and encouraging a return to the old way of American life. Through his
achievement in flying over the Atlantic Ocean, Charles Lindbergh contributed greatly towards the
advancement of aviation. In fact, while returning to the U.S. from Europe, Lindbergh wrote about his
desire to devote his

Everyone Needs Health Care At The Jungles Of Congo
Everyone needs health care, from the mountains of Colorado to the jungles of Liberia. Therefore, it is
hard to argue that the medical community is not one of the most essential in our society. However,
many people go to their doctor s office and either complain about the paperwork, the wait, or how the
staff treated them. The medical culture is paramount to our society because it serves our community
by maintaining human health, analyzes health trends, deals with insurance companies and even aids
low income individuals to get the proper care they require to live a healthy life. Judging from past
experiences and what seems like public opinion, the doctor s office is a place where many people

As busy as the office seemed to be, the mostly female staff appeared to work in unison, comparable to

brownies to pass to all the staff at the office as appreciation. However, according to Krizia Martinez
(2016), an employee of a family practice, not all patients are as wonderful as the one mentioned, they
have regular patients that seem to treat the front desk staff as people below them, often treating them
with attitude or not acknowledging their existence as humans (Martinez, personal communication,
July 02, 2016). Nevertheless, the staff seems to continue to do their jobs and take care of patients,
regardless of how they are treated. This behavior reveals the intent of unbiased medical care for
patients. From my view, there seemed to be a lot of work being done, even when there were not any
patients waiting in the lobby. There are other responsibilities, other than dealing with patients directly,
to take care of. As told by Krizia Martinez (2016), a medical biller, there is special coding used to bill
insurance companies called ICD 10. This coding can refer to general issues such as an annual physical
examination or to a specific issue such as a scratch from a squirrel (Martinez, personal

process that insurance companies and government

with the structure and guidance provided by your professors, and with the support of your group and
other classmates.
2. To provide you with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

for the final report unless the proposal has been submitted and returned to you. The proposal letter will
be read and graded as an assignment in Management Communication.
2. Final Written Report
Purpose and Audience
A final report is usually the last stage in some sort of problem identification/problem solving process,
or, at least, an evaluative process. Within business organizations, the audience is usually a two part
one: the staff who will be charged with acting on your findings, and the executives who want to be
able to grasp quickly the gist of your report and to act accordingly. In order to satisfy both these
audiences, your report needs to be prepared in full detail for the former audience, although as briefly
and concisely as is consonant with that goal; and in intelligent summary form for the latter audience,
usually as an executive summary.
Form and Organization
The most common flaw in reports made in business organizations, whether in written or oral form, is
that they are too linear. That is, they are organized in a pattern reflecting the process the investigator
(s) followed in conducting the study. You ll want to write instead for readers who want their concerns

the past can hinder growth, if a person cannot move on from it and wants to keep reliving that part of

A Clean Well-Lighted Place Essay
In A Clean Well Lighted Place by Ernest Hemingway, there are characters in the story that has some
conflicts with each other. The conflict is based on the young waiter and the older waiter. There are
three reasons how they bump heads with each other. The first reason is how the author s main purpose
deals with these two conflicts. The second reason is because of the way the young is dealing the story.
The final reason is the way the old is dealing with the story. Although there are some similarities in
this story, but there are some differences between the young verses the old. First and foremost, the
author s main purpose dealing with the young verses the old in the story. The author discussed the
views of an older person with a younger person. In this case, the people that he used were the younger
and the older waiter. The older waiter was one of the main characters in this story that the author used
to describe the main purpose of his writing. The waiter stated in A Clean Well Lighted Place that the
younger waiter could not stand up with dignity, that he was nothing of a man, and that it was nothing

Love And Lust In Play By Play
Lust is an incredibly strong feeling that can prove to be almost uncontrollable, leading it to commonly
be mistaken for love. Due to the relative closeness of these emotions, both are often confused, and
even when one is in love he or she does not recognize it. Many think that love just comes knocking on
one s door and one will know when it does, but they don t realize that for love to occur a relationship
has must be worked out. Love is described by some as fireworks, tingles, and butterflies in the
stomach; but it is lust that can cause these things to happen, and it is these that mark only the
beginning of a relationship. After a while, these feelings die out, and this is when the honeymoon
period is over; it is from this point on that the relationship will either end or get stronger and
eventually lead to true love.
Lust is the main idea behind the poem Play By Play by Joan Murray. The tale being told is of older

Debt Ratio And Total Debt
Debt Ratio also known as the total debt ratio which is (total assets total equity)/(total assets). The Debt
Ratio looks at all debts to all creditors. Debt to Equity Ratio is the total debt/ total equity. This looks at
the long term solvency measure to look at long term ability for the firm to pay its bills. The debt to
equity ratio is calculated by dividing total liabilities by total equity. The debt to equity ratio is
considered a balance sheet ratio because all of the elements are reported on the balance sheet. The debt
to equity ratio for 2010 was 1.6455% and for 2009 1.289%. A debt to equity ratio of 1 would mean
that investors and creditors have an equal stake in the business assets. This means that there may be a
lack of performance for the reason why there ratio is close to 1.
The total asset turnover ratio calculates net sales as a percentage of assets to show how many sales are
generated from each dollar of company assets. The total asset turnover ratio is a general efficiency
ratio that measures how efficiently a company uses all of its assets. This gives investors and creditors
an idea of how a company is managed and uses its assets to produce products and sales. Sometimes
investors also want to see how companies use more specific assets like fixed assets and current assets.

Population Dynamics and Its Effects on Climate Change Policy
Population dynamics and its effects of climate change policy Population growth and its effects on
climate change have been hotly debated in recent years by scientists and politicians alike. The Fourth
Assessment Report of the IPCC has sparked great interest and concern over climate change and how it
affects countries differently. The concept of environmental justice has focused on climate change s
unbalanced effects on developing countries, whose populations are more vulnerable to climate change.
With rapidly growing populations and inadequate resources and technologies, developing countries
have struggled to develop their economy sustainability. The relationship between population and
climate change is grossly oversimplified by the idea that as population increase so does its effect on
climate change. Realistically, population and climate change affect each other through economic
trends, development patterns, society, institutions and the government. Population dynamics is not
simply the number of people in a given space. Rather, it is the distribution and continuously changing
demographics that make population dynamics a complex but important factor in climate change
policy. In recent climate change and environmental protection discussions, developed countries have
strongly suggested or even imposed environmental policies upon developing countries. This has
caused tension and misunderstandings on both sides as developing countries strive for the economic
success of their

The Legality Of Physician Assisted Dying
In 1997 a Supreme Court case, Washington v Glucksberg, questioned the status quo asserting that a
physician should not be allowed to legally assist a terminally ill individual if he or she wishes to die.
While the plaintiffs lost, the case made clear that several people in the country were questioning the
status quo. The legality of physician assisted dying (PAD), synonymous with death with dignity,
ultimately rests on the opinions of the public (which are often religiously and politically influenced)
and therefore is dependent on a theory known as system justification (New York University). (System
justification states that people will accept and even defend a status quo, simply because it is the norm.)
This case was one of the many steps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Let us take a second to truly understand dignity. Merriam Webster Dictionary defines dignity as, the
quality or state of being worthy, honored, and esteemed as well as, formal reserve for seriousness of
manner, appearance, or language. That being said, a dignified death, which would bring back a sense
of power to a person otherwise without control of their life, should be done in a way that shows
respect for one s self. For the sake of uniformity we will look at the federal government in this matter,
as well as solely focusing on people who are terminally ill and wish to die by their own means, in a
dignified manner. As I stated, the Supreme Court upheld in 1997 that assisted suicide ought to be
criminalized, as well as asserting that people do not have a right to die (The Kevorkian Verdict). With
that said, despite a few state outliers, if an individual is in a circumstance where they wish to die, they
have no other option than to take the matter into their own hands. Methods of suicide contain firearm,
strangulation or suffocation, falling or jumping, and poisoning or drug overdoses, all ranging in
effectiveness (NSPL). Imagine an individual that only has a few more months to live, and wants to
regain control of their life. They can no longer go to the bathroom alone, and are constantly being
monitored. They no longer wish to live, and they want to die in a dignified way. This person, in the

Abstract. The Common Cold And Influenza Are Two Common
Abstract
The common cold and Influenza are two common illnesses of the upper respiratory tract. These illness
can often be mistaken for each other due to the overlapping symptoms. The two symptoms that seem
to present when the flu is occurring are a fever with a cough. Prevention is also similar for both of the
illnesses with the exception of an actual vaccine that can be administered annually for flu prevention.
Diagnosis can occur in the physicians office according to the individuals symptoms that are presenting
or by completing an rapid flu test. Treatments are also similar for both the common cold and the flu
because they are both caused by viruses, therefore a patient would not benefit from antibiotic therapy.

The symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection can be caused by several other viruses and
bacteria. It is important to seek proper medical treatment to receive the correct diagnosis, which will
prevent severe illness and from spreading to other people.
The Common Cold. An acute viral infection of the upper respiratory tract is often spread by hand
contact from an infected person. This may be from direct, indirect, or aerosol of the secretions and the
virus (Allan and Arroll, pg 190). The common cold is often less severe than the flu but has similar
symptoms. The cold typically is a shorter mild illness with symptoms gradually occurring. It is known
to start with sneezing, sore throat, possible chills, and headache. As the cold enhances the patient may
present with nasal drainage or congestion and cough. A cold is preventable with physical
interventions, probiotics, and exercise. Physical interventions are extremely important in preventing
illness and preventing the illness from spreading. These interventions can include hand washing, using
alcohol based solutions, gloves, masks, and gowns (Allan and Arroll, pg 192). The most common
treatments for the common cold include antihistamines, decongestants, antitussives, and
acetaminophen. One study of guaifenesin found no benefit; in another, 75% of participants reported
that guaifenesin was helpful for their cough, compared with 31% given placebo (Allan

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Lasers
The term laser originated as an acronym for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation. A
laser is different from other sources of light in that it emits light coherently1. Spatial coherence
provides the advantage as a laser to be focused to a spot, enabling applications such as laser cutting
and lithography. Lasers also have high temporal coherence, which allows them to emit light with a
very narrow spectrum. They can emit a single colour of light. Temporal coherence can be used to
produce pulses of light. Laser has a number of applications. They are used in printers, barcode
scanners, optical communication, laser surgery, skin treatment, cutting, welding materials, and laser
lighting in entertainment2. When it comes to biomedical applications lasers are used in the tattoo
removal, laser surgeries, diagnostic procedures, therapeutic uses, and as an adjuvant therapies in
several disorders.

Tissues preferentially absorb light at varying wavelengths. Light has dual nature as described in
Physics. When it is travelling, it is considered to be continuous wave but when it strikes a tissue or a
surface it is considered as particle named as Photon: a pocket of energy2. Laser photons that travel
through a given tissue with a high absorption coefficient for its specific wavelength will lose energy
through absorption easily. Because these photons are readily absorbed, this light travels much shorter
distances than those light wavelengths that are not absorbed. The absorption of photons from initial
ray of laser eventually degrades the power of light with distance travelled. Absorption coefficient for
the various tissues is lesser at the wavelength of light between 600 to 900 nm, which means better
tissue penetration is seen in lasers with these

Rhetorical Analysis Of Diana Nyad
Diana Nyad is an American author, journalist, motivational speaker, and long distance swimmer.
Diana is also the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida without getting injury, swimming one
hundred and one miles in fifty three hours. It was Diana fifth time standing on the Cuban shore,
hoping that she will make it across that vast from Cuba to Florida. Not only has she tried four times
but even the greatest swimmer in the world has been trying since 1950 s and it hasn t been done yet.
Knowing the risk of the dangerous wildness of an ocean, she still continues this great journey. Facing
the sharks and box jellyfish, the deadliest venom are in these waters. From her previous attempt, she
came close to dying. Diana team and her best friend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For an example, in paragraph six it states And so of course I want to make it across. It is the goal, and
I should be so shallow to say that this year, the destination was even sweeter than the journey. But the
journey itself was worthwhile taking. Diana was told this dream was impossible, the danger she could
ve face, and she did it anyway. She took all those negative thoughts and turn into motivation. She didn
t let no one stop her from chasing her dreams and she believe in it and she succeed it. During those 53
hours it was intense and unforgettable life experiences. When the shore was coming she felt sad
because her epic journey was coming to the end. Diana can make emotional connections with the
audience. The target audience is everyone. Ms. Nyad can makes this connections because she has been
there and especially now when she s trying to achieving her goal at the age of sixty two. Diana want s
everyone to achieve their goal regardless of how old they are or where they are at in life. Diana is very
passionate about following ones dreams because she went through it plain and

The Man Who Killed A Shadow By Richard Wright
Richard Wright s short story entitled, The Man Who Killed A Shadow showed the reality and truth of
a black man s life and how quickly it can be jeopardized when race and sex are mixed together. When
I began reading the story I felt heartbroken for the main character because he just seemed like a good
human being. Saul basically grew up with no role models to guide him in his life and his parents and
grandmother died when he was a young boy. Saul quickly had to adapt to these changes and began
working to support himself. When Saul began working at a young age he did not understand why the
shadows or white people saw him as inferior. This was something that he noticed that black people
just seemed to accept and he began to accept it as well even though he had no idea why. Saul had to
continue to work for the white shadows became increasingly unhappy with the way his life was going.
The narrator states, At the age of fifteen Saul knew that the life he was living was to be his lot, that
there no way to rid himself of his plaguing sense of unreality, no way to relax and forget (187). It was
extremely depressing to me that Saul knew at the age of fifteen that this was the reality of the rest of
his life. He knew he would never be happy and that he would have to work for the white shadows in
order to feed himself. One of the ways that Saul copes with his unfortunate reality is by drinking
heavily. It is the only thing that takes his mind off of his daily life and made him

Ordinary Political Participation
After analyzing the spectrum of environmentally related political activity, I found out that I am an
ordinary political participant. I do not fall that closely into this category but it was the closest to where
I stand. In regards to keeping up with what is happening in the media as in the news, I do not do much
of that anymore unless it is on social media. Ever since my senior year in my undergrad I stopped
watching the morning news mostly because I have very busy since then especially with school and
work . I found it satisfying watching the news first thing in the morning. Even though now a day there
are things that I as an adult should keep up with that could hinder my surroundings. In my belief pretty
much a lot of the news today is about

Universal Studios Presents The 1960 Film Psycho
Universal Studios presents the 1960 film Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock, adapted from the Robert Bloch
novel by Joseph Stephano, and scored by Bernard Hermann. The film stars Anthony Perkins, Vera
Miles, Janet Leigh, and a very creepy house. This film falling under the horror genre was based
loosely on the novel of the same name which drew inspiration from real life serial killer Ed Gein, who
has been the motivation for two other popular movies, The Silence of the Lambs and The Texas
Chainsaw Massacre . The budget for Psycho ran under one million dollars and was the last film on
Alfred Hitchcock s contract with Universal. The film was shot entirely on set at Universal studios
except for an early shot of Marion Crane s (Janet Leigh) vehicle parked on the side of the road when
she was too tired to continue driving, as well as the car dealership. Due to the budget constraints the
films crew were made up of mostly people who were working on the, Alfred Hitchcock Presents
television show. The film is about a man named Norman Bates, who runs a motel owned by his
family. Norman is a victim of his ill mothers love. His mother becomes violent when Norman s
attention has been detracted from her needs. This film is a study of character, suspense, and
storytelling; all reasons this film is considered an American classic. This film is unique due to several
factors: its presentation, it contained two different point of views (with an interpreted third point of
view), and it has some

Advantages And Disadvantages Of State Civil Services
State Civil Services (SCS) also known as Provincial Civil Services (PCS) corresponds to
Administrative Services in state government. Every State Public Service Commission carries out a
competitive examination usually every year for recruitment to the Provincial Civil Services.
Note: In some States the examination is not conducted every year. In such States the candidates may
have to remain prepared for longer durations and to grab the opportunity when it comes their way.
Candidates selected through PCS Examinations are meant to choose from following categories
State Civil Services, Class I (SCS)
State Police Service, Class I (SPS)

The number of vacancies being limited, the examination offers a tough competition to the aspirants
and only the candidates with thorough preparations may expect to be successful.
Scheme of Examination
The pattern of this examination is similar to the civil services examination conducted by the UPSC.
Most of the bigger States follow the practice of holding a preliminary examination to short list the
candidates. Preliminary examination is almost on the lines of preliminary examination for the civil
services examination conducted by the UPSC, with the exception that a few questions may be asked
about the custom, traditions, planning and problems of the State concerned.
The smaller States with relatively lesser number of vacancies and lesser candidates may skip the
preliminary examination. The Centre s for examination are determined by the concerned public
service commission considering the geographical area of the State and the number of candidates
taking the examination. Preliminary examination is followed by the main examination (Smaller States

Nutrition And Physical Fitness
Nutrition and Physical Fitness as Essential Tools for a Healthy Lifestyle I remember spending hours at
the gym without seeing results. My routines involved two hours cardio plus half an hour of
conditioning combining abs, squats and leg rises. However, my non smart intake behaviors would
remain, and I would consume junk food nearly every day whilst questioning why I was not seeing the
results I aimed for after spending two and a half hours at the gym every day. Yet the answer to this
question seemed to be far away as I was faraway to follow the right pattern towards physical fitness.
People most of the time endeavor towards a perfect shape without bearing in mind the fact of
combining healthy intake habits for optimal results. For a person to have top outcomes and get
benefited through a physically active life, it is vital to take into attention merging a healthy nutrition
while considering the components and different factors that involve living a physically active life.
Living a physically active life offers benefits people can take advantage of. One of them is reducing
the risk of developing chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes and heart disease. People who engage in a
physically active life are less likely to develop diabetes since they just not only cut their weight, but
they also preserve it, which in turn decreases the risks of developing these health conditions because
there is no room for excess of glucose nor clogged arteries since they follow a proper

  • 2. Differences Of Squid And Octopus What is these creatures? Squid and Octopus are categories in sub marine animal. Squid and Octopus are still one family, both of these animals are The Cephalopoda family. What is Cephalopoda? Cephalopods, is the class of mollusks which scientists classify octopuses, squid, cuttlefish and nautiluses, can change color faster than a chameleon. They can also change texture and body shape, and, and if those camouflage techniques don t work, they can still disappear in a cloud of ink, which they use as a smoke screen or decoy. Octopuses and squids can swim in any direction and can alter their course quickly. Squids use fins located on their heads to propel themselves when swimming at low speeds. These fins steer and stabilize the squids when moving slowly, and wrap around the body when they move quickly, by way of jet propulsion. Most octopuses do not have fins as adults. Some deep water octopuses are exceptions. (Octopuses Squids,n.d) How do octopuses and squids reproduce? The male octopus uses a specialized arm called a hectocotylus to transfer sperm to the mantle cavity of a receptive female. The female lays strings of fertilized eggs on the roof of her den. She guards, cleans and aerates the eggs with water expelled from her siphon until hatching. This can be anywhere from 30 days to a year, depending on the species. The female may build a wall of rocks to seal off the den and will remain in the den until just before she dies, after the eggs have hatched. Squids often mate in large groups, and attach their egg capsules to the ocean floor or to seaweed. Most adult octopuses and squid die after reproducing. Their bodies are recycled in the food web, nourishing other animals, and ultimately providing food for their young when they hatch. (Octopuses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Robby Real Estate Bubble Flipped Case Study Has the NYC Real Estate Bubble Popped? Some of the largest cities in the world seem to have experienced real estate market peaks. Has this phenomena hit The Big Apple? All indicators say yes . According to Bloomberg, the vacancy rates in New York City were at 2.87%, up from 2.31% reported last year. While you may not think that is that big of a deal, that 2.87% is the highest the vacancy rate has been in the city since August of 2006. This increase indicates that tenants have reached the limit on what they can pay. Not hard to see that when you take into consideration that in November, the monthly rent for an apartment had climbed nearly 4% from the previous year. The cost of leasing is even higher, it jumped up 18%. On the other hand, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Symptoms And Treatment Of The Vocal Fold Polyps Introduction Vocal fold polyps are common in the general population. They affect the vibratory vocal fold function resulting in significant dysphonia which are often surgically correctable. They are confined to the superficial lamina propria (SLP) of the vocal folds . Nowadays , phonomicrosurgery is the most common treatment of vocal fold polyps , and became a new standard of care to remove pathology in these cases without scar formation . The term phonomicrosurgery was introduced in 1994 , the principle of which lies in maximal preservation of the layered microstructure of the vocal folds , that is the epithelium and superficial lamina propria (SLP) . Physicians prescribe antireflux therapy in the form of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) after phonomicrosurgery for vocal fold polyps depending on the base that laryngopharyngeal reflux(LPR) plays an important role in pathogenesis of benign vocal fold mucosal lesion including polyps. Liquid alginate has been used in the treatment of symptoms of reflux disease with promising results for many years, sometimes in combination with H2 receptor antagonists or proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It is effective by producing a mechanical antireflux barrier within the fundus of the stomach.. The formation of barrier reduces the risk of further symptoms due to reflux of gastric contents into the oesophagus so , combination of proton pump inhibitors ( PPIs) and liquid alginate is expected to give ... • 5. Analysis Of Judith Slaying Holofernes Judith Slaying Holofernes by Artemisia Gentileschi ultimately painted one of the most violent representations of Judith in the history of art (Straussman Pflanzer, 12). Gentileschi was the only woman painter of the Baroque period in her time. She was born in Rome in 1593 to Orazio Gentileschi and Prudenzia Montoni. Artemisia was a follower of Caravaggio, whom art is frequently considered primarily in terms of its naturalism (Straussman Pflanzer, 13). She also learned the principles of art from her father and the basic perspective from Tassi. In Judith Slaying Holofernes the woman represented in a yellow costly garment is no other than Judith a Jewish widow. Despite her beauty for deceiving men, she is very brutal in revenge. By easily gaining her way through the Assyrians she gracefully grabs the attention of the General Holofernes, and then kills him by slicing through his neck with his own sword. She is then the heroine figure for Bethulia, Jerusalem, the Temple, and the people (Judith 8:11 12). The story of Judith is told to be a young religious widow from the Jewish city of Bethulia, chops off the head of Holofernes, general of the Assyrian army that had attacked her city. Robin Gallaher Branch states that Judith told the Bethulia leaders to meet her at her home where she could discuss to them her plan on how to save the city from thirst by the enemy (Branch, 1). After getting the approval from her city leaders they acclaim her for her wisdom and released her and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Exploring American Culture´s Dark Spot Essay Exploring American culture s dark spot Educational expectations may create academic dishonesty incentive Jay Z, Jay Gatsby, and Al Capone all reside in the same weak place in the hearts of Americans. These three men represent our nation s twisted admiration for masterful cheaters. Americans are intrigued by these men, seduced by their risk taking and their subsequent success and fame. The majority of society is not made up of criminals, gamblers, or drug dealers. But cheating is prominent on a smaller scale, in more realistic acts. Recently, educational cheating scandals seem to be gripping the nation, or at least the media. One explanation for recently publicized academic dishonesty is that students feel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 200 educators from 40 schools were involved in a cheating scandal in Atlanta. At one school, educators had weekend pizza parties to correct wrong answers on test documents together. As a result, the school s scores increased 45 percent. We were told to get these scores by any means necessary. We were told our jobs were on the line, said Sidnye Fells, a fourth grade teacher in Atlanta to ABC news. In 2004, educators encouraged 500 high school students in Alabama to drop out before the test to increase the school s score. Some public school activists attribute teachers cheating scandals to the high expectations of standardized tests. Across the country, educators and parents have participated in protests against heavy reliance on standardized test scores in deciding a teacher or school s success. Standardized tests provide administrators and state government with an objective evaluation of students knowledge. Ohio will implement the new teacher evaluation system in the 2014 2015 school year. Teacher performance ratings will comprise 50 percent of the evaluation. The remaining 50 percent relies on improvements in student test scores. Teachers will receive one of four possible grades: accomplished, skilled, developing, and ineffective. Each district s board of education must decide how teacher s evaluations will be used to determine promotions and terminations. Quote from Sycamore Teacher about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hosea once again invited the Israelites to repent for their sins for restoration. God promised them healing and blessing in return. He used agricultural terms to describe the future blessings and repentance of Israel which gained their attention, since they had a religion dedicated to a god that provided agriculture fertility (Arnold and Beyer, pg. 434). God had redemptive plans for the unfaithful people (2: 6 15). God had three therefore clauses to win back His people. He chooses to act in grace, in preference of anger. The people curse (take God s name in vain), lie, murder, steal, commit adultery, and break all the boundaries laid out to regulate their covenant relationship with God (Smith, pp. 84). Hosea had preached that behavior reveals true faith and love. He brought up the many different kinds of issues because he was attempting to teach the people that faith and community actions are a mirror of each other (Smith, pp. 84). The second part of the covenant lawsuits include a course of accusations of sinfulness (6:7 7:16), an explanation of the punishments the nation will endure (8:1 9:17), and a final message of hope (11:1 11). He provides a broad framework of the punishments of the people who deceived God by not maintaining their covenant with Him. The priests and political leaders are called out for being big contributors to the broken covenants and destroyed the nation. They turn away from God, and lead others to do so as well. There is a great deal of accusations Hosea strives to expose towards these cruel and untrustworthy leaders . The great amount of sins creates the idea that restoration is impossible. This discrepancy of faith leads to the violent imagery God has provided which is full of judgment because that is what Israel has done to God. There were several things the colonists needed to do to accomplish this task. They started by gaining a strong government, providing power, and ended by giving the United States more abilities. If it was a high summer flood, then why would the movie include thunder noise or the noises of scarred animals(movie 00:29). This three evidence points out the difference of how a movie represents the wording of the story. In conclusion the setting of the story changes a little because the movie specifies the setting. Thirdly, the resolution of the story and the movie doesn t change, because both are part of the same story, if the resolution were to change, the story wouldn t make sense. Both medium resolutions are about what Rikki Tikki did to defeat Nagaina, like killing her eggs. As the text shows, Nagaina saw that she had lost her chance of killing Teddy, and the egg lay between Rikki Tikki s paws ( Kipling 154). Another piece of evidence is shown in the movie, where Rikki Tikki smashes the eggs, but keeps the last egg and shows the egg to Nagaina( movie 19:07). The resolution also has to do with how Nagaina died or how the text states never came back. The Analyst notes that if no refinancing is available, the balloon payment at the end of the initial term of the loan will be fully repaid two years prior to the EPA expiry in 2048, under the conservative P99 scenario, and solely based on contracted cash flows. The risk designation of Neutral/Standard reflects the EPA tail supporting refinancing at the end of the Term Loan tenor in 2025. The operating life of a hydro generating asset is 50 years. • 21. Employee Teacher Reflection Portfolio It has now come to my understanding that as a trainee teacher, it is vital that I become a reflective practitioner when fostering the role of a teacher. In support of this, Tripp (2012, p.12) adds that being reflective is an essential part of the development of professional judgement . He continues to state that one must be able to examine and critique their teaching to build on their own professional values and ideas. It is through this theory that as a trainee teacher, I must be able to examine my own critical incident from my school based training placement (SBT1). I will be employing Tripp s four approaches of analysis Thinking Strategies, The Why? Challenge, Dilemma Identification and Personal Theory Analysis (Tripp, 2012, pp. 43 54). However, before I start my analysis, it is important to identify what a critical incident is. Tripp (2012) states that critical incidents are shaped by the way we look at a situation. He further adds that a critical incident is an interpretation of the significance of an event (p. 8). The context of my incident took place in a year four class within the Borough of Barking and Dagenham. It consisted of me teaching a whole class Literacy lesson where the majority of the pupils were considered or categorised as having English as an additional language. Incident My critical incident occurred in the last week of my placement. I was teaching a sequence of Literacy lessons to a class of 27 students. The objective of the ... Macy Nixon Mrs. Molzahn American Literature May 20, 2015 Inspiration or Perspiration Thomas Alva Edison was a man of great talent and determination. A mind of absolute genius that withheld spectacular and innovative ideas that Edison, himself, could not wait to share with the world. The list of inventions and developments Edison is often known for are countless. Creations such as, the electric light, the telephone transmitter, the phonograph, motion picture, electric storage battery, and mimeograph machine, are just a mere few of his 1,093 United States patents and thousands more, from twenty four different nations. Many of Edison s ideas were beyond the world s understanding. Today, his inventions have greatly influenced the twentieth century, more than one could ever imagine. Thomas Edison was born February 11, 1847, in Milan, Ohio. He lived in Milan for seven years, until his father decided to further his career and start a business in Port Huron, Michigan. Here, he spent most of his childhood in a small, red brick home. At this home, Thomas found what he is known for today. Due to Edison struggle in school and inept in mathematics, his mother, a former teacher, decided to homeschool him. Though bad at school, Edison was eager to read, especially science books. His love of science, lead him to start doing chemical and mechanical experiments in the basement of his small home. • 23. The Importance Of Gender Bias One of the most debated topics in modern society today is equality. Most everyone agrees that all people are equal, however, most everyone is also implicitly biased about genders whenever it comes to careers. For example, imagine for a moment a random piano teacher. What gender did you automatically think of them as? You more than likely initially imaged a female piano teacher. Now, imagine a random surgeon/ doctor. What gender did you automatically see them as? You probably imaged them as a male. If so, you are experiencing implicit gender bias. Unfortunately, you are not alone in this; society itself implicitly assigns males to scientific careers and women to liberal arts. Implicit bias are the completely unconscious stereotypes and attitudes we have towards society that affects our decisions and understanding of things. The key word in that definition is unconscious. Most people do not even realize they hold this bias; you might not have even realized you were experiencing this bias until reading this paragraph. This ignorance is one of the main reasons this bias is still occurring on a daily basis to most of humanity, and it is the main reason there is such a gender divide in careers today. It is hypothesized that helping people identify their implicit bias (specifically gender career bias) and providing them with basic education and strategies on the topic itself will reduce their gender career bias. The rather recent development of social media has been helpful to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is unequivocally conveyed through the verisimilitude of the time date [quote/example], and panning images of Canberra. In naming the PM s advisors the central policy unit or CPU , Sitch mocks the bureaucratic jargon which seems to define the policy making process. Charles Lindbergh was one of these heroes. Born in 1902, he was trained in aviation and worked as an airmail pilot (Bishop). Later, he made history by becoming the first person to fly across the Atlantic Ocean alone (Nash 388). On May twenty first, 1927, Lindbergh traveled from New York to Le Bourget field in Paris in his plane, the Spirit of St. Louis (James). He designed this plane himself, working to make it as small and lightweight as possible (Kessner Charles Lindbergh, A New Hero ). Known as the lone eagle , Lindbergh became one of the biggest celebrities of the era (Chamberlain). His flight caused more excitement than any other event of its time (Nash 388). Approximately 25,000 people were at Le Bourget field to watch Lindbergh land (James). Upon returning to the United States, there were numerous parades and dinners to honor his achievement ( Lindbergh Visit Ends ). Charles Lindbergh was the most influential hero to emerge from the 1920s, making an impact by transforming aviation, as well as acting as a role model for the American public and encouraging a return to the old way of American life. The relationship between population and climate change is grossly oversimplified by the idea that as population increase so does its effect on climate change. Realistically, population and climate change affect each other through economic trends, development patterns, society, institutions and the government. Population dynamics is not simply the number of people in a given space. Rather, it is the distribution and continuously changing demographics that make population dynamics a complex but important factor in climate change policy. In recent climate change and environmental protection discussions, developed countries have strongly suggested or even imposed environmental policies upon developing countries. This has caused tension and misunderstandings on both sides as developing countries strive for the economic success of their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. The Legality Of Physician Assisted Dying In 1997 a Supreme Court case, Washington v Glucksberg, questioned the status quo asserting that a physician should not be allowed to legally assist a terminally ill individual if he or she wishes to die. While the plaintiffs lost, the case made clear that several people in the country were questioning the status quo. The legality of physician assisted dying (PAD), synonymous with death with dignity, ultimately rests on the opinions of the public (which are often religiously and politically influenced) and therefore is dependent on a theory known as system justification (New York University). (System justification states that people will accept and even defend a status quo, simply because it is the norm.) This case was one of the many steps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Let us take a second to truly understand dignity. Merriam Webster Dictionary defines dignity as, the quality or state of being worthy, honored, and esteemed as well as, formal reserve for seriousness of manner, appearance, or language. That being said, a dignified death, which would bring back a sense of power to a person otherwise without control of their life, should be done in a way that shows respect for one s self. For the sake of uniformity we will look at the federal government in this matter, as well as solely focusing on people who are terminally ill and wish to die by their own means, in a dignified manner. As I stated, the Supreme Court upheld in 1997 that assisted suicide ought to be criminalized, as well as asserting that people do not have a right to die (The Kevorkian Verdict). With that said, despite a few state outliers, if an individual is in a circumstance where they wish to die, they have no other option than to take the matter into their own hands. Methods of suicide contain firearm, strangulation or suffocation, falling or jumping, and poisoning or drug overdoses, all ranging in effectiveness (NSPL). Imagine an individual that only has a few more months to live, and wants to regain control of their life. They can no longer go to the bathroom alone, and are constantly being monitored. They no longer wish to live, and they want to die in a dignified way. This person, in the status quo, has the options I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Abstract. The Common Cold And Influenza Are Two Common Abstract The common cold and Influenza are two common illnesses of the upper respiratory tract. These illness can often be mistaken for each other due to the overlapping symptoms. The two symptoms that seem to present when the flu is occurring are a fever with a cough. Prevention is also similar for both of the illnesses with the exception of an actual vaccine that can be administered annually for flu prevention. Diagnosis can occur in the physicians office according to the individuals symptoms that are presenting or by completing an rapid flu test. Treatments are also similar for both the common cold and the flu because they are both caused by viruses, therefore a patient would not benefit from antibiotic therapy. With educating the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection can be caused by several other viruses and bacteria. It is important to seek proper medical treatment to receive the correct diagnosis, which will prevent severe illness and from spreading to other people. The Common Cold. An acute viral infection of the upper respiratory tract is often spread by hand contact from an infected person. This may be from direct, indirect, or aerosol of the secretions and the virus (Allan and Arroll, pg 190). The common cold is often less severe than the flu but has similar symptoms. The cold typically is a shorter mild illness with symptoms gradually occurring. It is known to start with sneezing, sore throat, possible chills, and headache. As the cold enhances the patient may present with nasal drainage or congestion and cough. A cold is preventable with physical interventions, probiotics, and exercise. Physical interventions are extremely important in preventing illness and preventing the illness from spreading. These interventions can include hand washing, using alcohol based solutions, gloves, masks, and gowns (Allan and Arroll, pg 192). The most common treatments for the common cold include antihistamines, decongestants, antitussives, and acetaminophen. One study of guaifenesin found no benefit; in another, 75% of participants reported that guaifenesin was helpful for their cough, compared with 31% given placebo (Allan ... • 47. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Lasers The term laser originated as an acronym for light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation. A laser is different from other sources of light in that it emits light coherently1. Spatial coherence provides the advantage as a laser to be focused to a spot, enabling applications such as laser cutting and lithography. Lasers also have high temporal coherence, which allows them to emit light with a very narrow spectrum. They can emit a single colour of light. Temporal coherence can be used to produce pulses of light. Laser has a number of applications. They are used in printers, barcode scanners, optical communication, laser surgery, skin treatment, cutting, welding materials, and laser lighting in entertainment2. When it comes to biomedical applications lasers are used in the tattoo removal, laser surgeries, diagnostic procedures, therapeutic uses, and as an adjuvant therapies in several disorders. When it is travelling, it is considered to be continuous wave but when it strikes a tissue or a surface it is considered as particle named as Photon: a pocket of energy2. Laser photons that travel through a given tissue with a high absorption coefficient for its specific wavelength will lose energy through absorption easily. Because these photons are readily absorbed, this light travels much shorter distances than those light wavelengths that are not absorbed. The absorption of photons from initial ray of laser eventually degrades the power of light with distance travelled. Absorption coefficient for the various tissues is lesser at the wavelength of light between 600 to 900 nm, which means better tissue penetration is seen in lasers with these ... • 49. The Man Who Killed A Shadow By Richard Wright Richard Wright s short story entitled, The Man Who Killed A Shadow showed the reality and truth of a black man s life and how quickly it can be jeopardized when race and sex are mixed together. When I began reading the story I felt heartbroken for the main character because he just seemed like a good human being. Saul basically grew up with no role models to guide him in his life and his parents and grandmother died when he was a young boy. Saul quickly had to adapt to these changes and began working to support himself. When Saul began working at a young age he did not understand why the shadows or white people saw him as inferior. This was something that he noticed that black people just seemed to accept and he began to accept it as well even though he had no idea why. Saul had to continue to work for the white shadows became increasingly unhappy with the way his life was going. The narrator states, At the age of fifteen Saul knew that the life he was living was to be his lot, that there no way to rid himself of his plaguing sense of unreality, no way to relax and forget (187). It was extremely depressing to me that Saul knew at the age of fifteen that this was the reality of the rest of his life. He knew he would never be happy and that he would have to work for the white shadows in order to feed himself. One of the ways that Saul copes with his unfortunate reality is by drinking heavily. It is the only thing that takes his mind off of his daily life and made him ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
