A Brief Note On Weighted Average Cost Of Capital
WACC (Weighted Average Cost of Capital) according to AstraZeneca
This report will explain what is and how the WACC works and which methods to use for this
particular company, AstraZeneca, with relevant data reference.
What is WACC ?
WACC = E/V x Re + D/V x Rd x (1 Tc)
A calculation of a company s cost of capital in which every source of capital is weighted in proportion
to how much capital it contributes to the company . http://financial
dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/WACC WACC is the acronym of Weighted Average Cost of Capital
which calculates the cost of a company capital from all sources, common stock, preferred stock, long
terms debts bonds ect.., WACC increases respectively when the rate of return on equity and beta
increases which means that the increase of the WACC will indicate the increase in risk and decrease in
valuation, and on the other hand a low WACC will show that the company gets its capital cheap, in
fact WACC it is known as a mixture of cheap debt and expensive equity.
Companies are founded through debt and/ or equity, this organizations or people known as investors
offer their money expecting a return, thus the money they offered plus an additional amount known as

Likewise, for centuries, people and corporations have invested in enterprises in other countries. In
fact, many of the features of the current wave of globalization are similar to those prevailing before
the outbreak of the First World War in 1914. But policy and technological developments of the past
few decades have spurred increases in cross border trade, investment, and migration so large that
many observers believe the world has entered a qualitatively new phase in its economic development.
Since 1950, for example, the volume of world trade has increased by 20 times, and from just 1997 to
1999 flows of foreign investment nearly doubled, from $468 billion to $827 billion. Distinguishing
this current wave of globalization from earlier ones, author Thomas Friedman has said that today
globalization is farther, faster, cheaper, and deeper. But policy and technological developments of the

Hermes Diaktoros Main Characters
Hermes Diaktoros is the main character in the Hermes Diaktoros/Greek Mystery series of novels by
British author Anne Zouroudi. The series is composed of seven books that came out between 2007 and
2013. Hermes is an enigmatic character that takes after the Greek messenger god that usually wears
golden winged sandals. Hailing from Athen Hermes Diaktoros is a portly detective that everyone
refers to as fat man. Arriving unannounced at the scenes of crime, nobody knows who sent him, what
his motivations are, and how he seems to know people s secrets. He fuels the enigmatic narrative
when he compulsively maintains and wears a pair of pristinely white tennis shoes everywhere he goes.
Despite his unorthodox methods and weird behavior, Hermes is very successful in unearthing
mysteries that happened a long time ago. He deals with the unscrupulous, the likable, the lecherous,
and the innocent dispensing his own brand of justice along the way. He also dispenses uncanny
wisdom, provides wisdom and advice alongside his inquiries that ultimately make his cities more
honest, fairer and cleaner than he found them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just as good as her maiden novel, the following six novels in the Hermes Diaktoros series cemented
Zouroudi s reputation as one of the best authors in the detective mystery genre. One of the most
popular books in the series is the sixth novel, The Bull of Mithros published in 2014 that went on to
win the Coventry Book Award in 2014. The fifth book in the series Whispers of Nemesis won the East

Aura Of Japan Research Paper
Aura of Japan With climate generally characterized as monsoonal in the winter (wet and dry seasonal
winds), Japan s weather ranges from heavy snow to tropical summers. The high pressure zone over
Siberia and the low pressure zone over the Pacific results in a flow of cold air in an eastward direction
that picks up moisture over Japan. Japan has two main climate types in the north and south; humid
continental and humid subtropical respectively. In short, Japan has two general areas in which the
weather falls in. Many factors tie together to form Japan s climate. The latitudinal extent of Japan is
one of the main influences of the half cold half hot climate of Japan. The mountainous backbone of

Mammals that are numerous in remote heavily forested regions include types of bears, boars, foxes
and deer. Turtles, tortoise, sea snakes and lizards are types of reptiles that inhabit Japan. Toads and
frogs are also common. The islands of Japan are connected to a major East Asian flyway, so about 6oo
bird species are either resident or transitory of Japan. Japan has a rich sea life because of the warm and
cold water currents. Fish include salmon, tuna, mackerel and trout, while other sea life includes
whales and dolphins. Unfortunately, Japan has a moderate amount of endangered species that include
the tailless blue butterfly, the green sea turtle, the Ryukyu rabbit and many more. To sum it up, Japan s

Signs And Symptoms Of Sickle Cell Anemia
Signs and symptoms of sickle cell anemia may be determined at birth. Some infants though, do not
show any signs until the age of four months. Other infants, might show some signs at birth that have to
deal with the anemia part of the illness. Babies special hemoglobin protects their red blood cells which
is why some of them are not diagnosed at birth. Some people have severe symptoms and others could
just be mild. There are many different symptoms or signs of sickle cell anemia, there are signs that
have to do with just the anemia part and other signs that have to do with the disease part of the illness.
Many different symptoms have to deal with the anemic part of the illness. Some of the most
commonly diagnosed symptoms are; shortness of breath, dizziness, jaundice, pale skin, headaches,
and coldness in the head and feet. The hands and feet of sickle cell patients could be swollen which is
the first sign of sickle cell sometimes. A fever is usually side by side with the swelling. Red blood
cells carry oxygen through our bodies and delivers it throughout our systems. With sickle cell, those
red blood cells tend to form a crescent moon shape and often get stuck together in the blood vessels.
This will cause swelling and pain in which ever body part the blood is sickling in. Blood is carried to
each body part, which also means for sickle cell patients sickling can happen almost anywhere in their
entire body. Pain would have to be one of the most common symptoms of sickle

Pablo Picasso Oil On Canvas Analysis
Pablo Picasso, Guernica, 1937, Oil on Canvas is an abstract painting showing the effects of military
and government and their people. The painting is non realistic but speaks to a theme of politics and
social order. Francisco de Goya, Executions on the Third of May, 1808, 1814 15 oil on canvas is a
stylized depiction of life during the invasion of Spain by Napoleon. Like the Picasso, this piece also
speaks to politics and social order. The line is the first noticeable difference in the two pieces. Picasso
uses very straight lines and geometric shapes, giving a feeling of end or absolution, while Goya has a
much more flowing line which lends to motion, and reality. Goya uses bright vibrant color to draw the
viewers eye the man with guns being panted at him and then to the red blood spread around below
him, while Picasso uses a gray scale and value allowing the mind to either fill in the color, or, as it
does for me, really combine it all like an explosion, and parts and pieces of each. The line and color in
Goya lends to a motion, a life, an intensity about the situation, where the lack of color, and fixed line
and geometric shape all seem stale and still. Picasso uses an implied triangle that is centered in his
piece giving me a feeling of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the hand and arm in the bottom left of the piece. Goya has a much more realistic scale leaning to the
overall reality of the piece. The Goya is more symmetrical than they Picasso. If you cut the Goya in
half you could almost have one piece of soldiers with guns, and one piece of execution. While if you

The Women s Winner Of The Wimbledon Championship
Success is sometimes a long and winding journey. Many times you need to overcome the barriers that
block you and naysayers who doubt you. Sometimes you need to fight though your own self doubts to
achieve success in your life.
Marion Bartoli, the women s winner of the Wimbledon Championship, had to take a long and winding
journey to overcome many barriers, naysayers and self doubts to achieve to reach the pinnacle of the
professional tennis world and become a champion. Whether you follow or play tennis or not, the
following are seven secrets to achieving more success can be applied to your life:
1. Believe in Success Marion, from the age of six years old, believed that she would win the
Wimbledon championship. Because of this unwavering belief, she developed the attitude that she
would someday win the tournament. She developed powerful goals, developed a detailed action plan
to accomplish her goals, and stayed focused on achieving those goals. Once your belief is in place,
you will develop the persistence to overcome many obstacles on your success journey.
What goals do you want to achieve? What steps will you take to achieve your goals? When will you
start?
2.Visualize Your Success Marion would visualize herself winning the Wimbledon Championship. She
would visualize every detail of the championship: what the crowds would look like, the sounds of the
crowd, and the smell of the foods. Marion would visualize what it would look like for her to dominate
her opponents.

Character Analysis Of Eddie s Clothing Choice
Eddie s clothing choice had changed very little when she stopped down at my office building. I asked
her more than once that she didn t have to wait outside. She told me not to give it another thought, but
I could tell something was bothering her. The next day I waited in the shadows out of sight of
everyone in the large atrium of my building and walked out and placed my hand on the shoulder of the
head of my security and asked him who in the hell told him that Eddie wasn t allowed into my
building? I made a call into my little brother and he explains that it was all a misunderstanding. The
head of security was sent to another one of my buildings instead of being kicked out of a job all
because of Eddie. One of my favorite restaurants somehow had changed their dress code, but I asked
to speak with the owner and he was surprised that anyone would prevent me from dinning in his
establishment. This was especially true when he spoke strongly to his people that I was the silent
partner who kept him in business when the bank wanted to foreclose on him. Not only did I payoff the
deed, I had also brought the entire building. Of course my little brother said apologetically that he had
just made a comment he had overheard said from someone else and had no idea the people who
worked in that restaurant overheard his conversation. Him saying that I should never eat at a place that
had people who had no propriety of keeping their customers conversation private. When I met

Compare Sonnet 130 By Shakespeare
Poems use lots of different ways to express personal relationships. The authors of these poems can use
language, tone, structure and many other ways to convey personal relationships. The poem Valentine
by Carol Ann Duffy uses many of these aspects. The main idea of this poem is to compare an onion to
the love a woman has for her lover. The poem Sonnet 130 by Shakespeare also uses language, tone,
structure and imagery. This poem however uses them in a different way. This poem is about how a
man loves his wife/lover in his own special way. These two poems use language, tone, structure,
rhyme/rhythm and imagery to express a personal relationship.
Language is a very important part of every poem as it helps convey the author s message. Poems can
use lots of different language devices to convey the message and really grab the reader s attention. You
can use a simile, which is making a comparison of two things using like or as. Like in Valentine it will
blind you with tears like a lover is a simile. This shows how a lover can leave you in tears when the
leave you heartbroken. The same with an onion as when you cut deeper into the onion, sort of its
heart, the more it stings your eyes making you cry. Using this simile is much more effective than just

It is the attitude of the poem and the attitude the author has toward the subject that the poem has.
Sometimes the tone of a poem can be really obvious and other times it can be really hard to figure out
as there a multiple. There are several different tones a poem can have such as romantic, bitter, honest
and anger. In Valentine the tone is honest and romantic. For this poem it was easy to find the tone as
the poem is very clearly about love but it also shows the truth about it. Another poem that uses
honesty and romantic is Sonnet 130. This was also quite easy to find as the poem is about how a man
loves his lover in his own

Hart s Ladder of Participation
Critically analyse Hart s Ladder of Participation.
What are the types of decisions children and young people can be involved in, and what is the link
between the children and the adults when the participatory approach is put into practice? When should
adults be more active in guiding children, and when should they step back and allow the children to
work autonomously? Roger Hart (1992) developed a model, the Ladder of participation, which is
made up from eight steps, each step indicate increasing degrees of pupil participation and dissimilar
forms of cooperation with adults. The three lowest steps on the ladder of participation are called the
non participation steps , and they strongly state that many projects claiming to engage ... Show more

Throughout group working and appropriate support of facilitation, children may be able to negotiate
new kinds of relationships and partnerships as suggested by O Kane (2002).
Cases involving children as participants enjoy better efficiency and effectiveness. Children s
participation is considered to lead to better decision making, whether this is in relation to projects that
are interested on issues of specific concern to the children (Lansdown, 2003) or within development
processes in the wider society (Phillips, 2000).
Additionally, in some people s view, functioning with children may be the most successful way of
bringing out issues of concern within the society as a whole since the young are less self conscious in
their discussion of matters. It is usually supposed that the Unite Nations Convention on the Rights of
the Child (UNCRC) provides an apparent support for children s participation.
Actually, this issue has been questioned by quite a few commentators. It is pointed out, for instance,
that the reference in Article 12 to children s developing capacities and the proclamation in Article 3
about children s best interests both offer valuable grounds for adults to take priority over the expressed
ideas and wishes of children ( Cantwell, 1998; Liebel,2000). It can be said that the UNCRC provides a
new vision of children . It combines the recognisable view of the

The Downfall Of The Romanov Dynasty
In a burgeoning climate of autocracy, the Romanov dynasty was firmly established in the societal
framework of early 20th century Russia. Having been in varying degrees of absolute political control
over an approximate time period of four hundred years, their eventual undoing marked a power shift
polarising the imperial regime laid out by countless Tsars beforehand. Nicholas II, the last Emperor of
Russia, is recognised to have a degree of personal responsibility for the downfall of the Romanovs, yet
the extent to which his decision making skills can be held accountable is questioned by some
historians. Despite this, multiple political, social, and military facets of Nicholas II s reign were
handled with instability, and his perceived lack of legitimacy due to this poor decision making
ultimately was a major causative factor to the downfall of his family s vast dynasty.
Various aspects of Nicholas II s political decisions reflected his clear unsuitability for the role of Tsar,
and these decisions form a preliminary basis for both his own legacy of incompetency the eventual
undoing of the Romanovs. In comparison to rulers preceding, Nicholas was ill prepared for the role:
his father, Alexander III, failed to adequately develop his son s understanding of civil state
responsibilities before his death in 1894, under the guise that he would live long enough to teach
Nicholas of these affairs. Upon his consecration as Tsar, Nicholas spoke in his diary of his

The Good Earth Quotes
A Comment Upon the Meaning
Can even the most faithful man forget his morals in extreme circumstance? What does it take for one
to be broken? In Pearl S. Buck s fiction novel, The Good Earth, Wang Lung and his family struggle to
survive the hardships of rural 1930 s China. With their lives at stake, a plethora of decisions will test
Wang Lung s physical and mental state. Commented upon as, A comment upon the meaning and
tragedy of life as it is lived in any age in any quarter of the globe, by the New York Times, The Good
Earth is a highly distinctive, yet undeniably relatable tale of prosperity and tragedy.
Unlike its fairy tale counterparts, The Good Earth is not a story of endless success. Wang Lung, the
protagonist, receives more than his share of downs, both in and out of his control. Early in the novel,
famine strikes Wang Lung s town, leaving him with no option but to drag his family to the South.
With Wang Lung as the host of the leech that is the famine, he feels that he will never return to his old
life. Not unlike readers themselves, Wang Lung wants nothing but the best for his family. To readers,
it is only understandable and inevitable that in these circumstances, it is bound for extreme actions to
take place. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

family in any way he can. Again, another proof relatable reality in the novel; the characters are not

such a theft, a soon to be hypocritical action. Wang Lung himself is led to success through theft, a
realistically plausible and tempting solution to all of Wang Lung s

The Issue Of Child Soldiers
Every day, thousands of children around the world wake up in the morning, grab their shoes and
backpacks and head to school. Thousands of other children pick up their AK 47s and head to battle.
The issue of child soldiers is as complex as it is atrocious, and its heinous nature has prompted the
international community to pour vast amounts of time and resources into finding a solution. Despite
humanitarian and government organizations best efforts, the numbers have remained relatively static
over the decades, with over 300,000 underage combatants worldwide (Vautravers 96). Many scholars
have declared the U.N. s current policy as a failure and offered up proposals of their own, ranging
from placement of sanctions to international ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the use of child soldiers is not a new occurrence, the real international push to end the practice
did not begin until the late eighties, with the 1989 Convention of the Rights of a Child, or the CRC. It
quickly gained over 190 signatures, making it one of the most ratified U.N. documents in history and
ushering in a new era that prioritized child rights and fought injustice (Singer 569). However, since
then the number of child soldiers has remained relatively stagnant, with 85 countries utilizing child
soldiers in armed groups as of 2004 (Kargbo 487).
Some scholars, such as P.W. Singer in his article, Talk is Cheap: Getting Serious about Preventing
Child Soldiers, would contend that current legislation lacks teeth, allowing militant groups to run
rampant and flout responsibilities without consequence. For example, a rebel group in the Democratic
Republic of the Congo, or DRC, promised not to use child soldiers, only to continue flaunting its
underage army weeks later (Singer 571). Since the U.N. lacks any methods of enforcing legislation
other than diplomatic pressure, which is rarely successful, armed groups will often deliberately
disregard standards set forth and receive little or no punishment. This, coupled with the fact that most
commanders these standards are aimed at are either illiterate or out of reach of state authority, makes
almost all current legislation useless (Kargbo 490). A possible solution that

Globalization Is A New Of Level Of Interdependence
Globalization has produced a new of level of interdependence among us. The economy and
multinational supply chains do not abide by political boundaries. A computer ordered in Brazil is

strong evidence of a new era Eduardo Paes. It can be seen now that globalization is something that
cannot be stopped. This process of international integration has come as a result of an interchange of
world views, ideas, product, and other aspects of different cultures. The rapid development of
transportation and telecommunication and furthermore the internet, has boosted globalization greatly
and as a result a greater interdependence of economic and cultural activities. Interdependence is one
the main factors of the economic welfare of the countries. Both regional and international
organizations preach this idea among their member states and this is one of their main objectives.
Nevertheless regional and international organizations have different geographical areas of operations
and different laws which at some cases might result into conflict with each other. Both the European
Union and NATO, in which I ll focus my essay on, show proof that there might be cases where the UN

Relationship Between Family And Family
Introduction
Many would agree that the dynamics of the family structure have changed drastically. Families are
faced with many challenges, often times outside intervention is necessary in coping with the plethora
of issues families face. We are living in a time of increased racial tensions, stress, bullying, domestic
violence, mental illness, same sex marriage, drug abuse, increased divorce rates, blended families, and
cohabitation. The use of Marriage and family therapists appears to be increasing. According to
Gladding, (2004), 56.9 million people utilized marriage and family therapists. This paper will discuss
the understanding of marriage and family therapists and the family life cycle. In addition the blended
family is discussed as it relates to the role of the marriage, and family counselor. An overview of the
preventative wellness measures that could apply to preblended families is also reviewed.
Understanding of the family life cycle as it applies to counselors working with couples and families.
My understanding of the family life cycle as it applies to counselors is that it is complex and a direct
correlation between the fit of the therapists life stage along with the family (Gladding, 2004). As a
therapist and /or counselor, consideration must be given to the life cycle stage of the family as well as
the culture of the client(s). Families are systems and different cultures define family in different ways.

On June 28th, 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated; his death would be the
spark that ignited World War I. Spanning over the course of four years, World War I, due to new
military technologies and the horrors of trench warfare, saw unprecedented levels of carnage and
destruction. Soldiers in the trenches were surrounded by inhumanity and depravity ; they could not

This concept is clearly captured within the novel when Stephen states This is not a war, this is an
exploration of how far men can be degraded (Faulks 145). During battle, men have to let go of what
they once believed to be right and just in order to survive. Notably, this issue presents itself when the
enemy evolves from a conceptual being into a human, which causes soldiers to realize that they are
killing men who are no different from them. In order to such avoid moral conflicts, soldiers had to
detach themselves from the harsh realities of the war. For instance, Jack, unlike Weir and Brennan,

Self help housing is in simpler terms a group or community of people coming together and pulling
resources in order to satisfy their housing needs. This a key production system in terms of housing in a
liberalist point of thinking because in first looks at the individual needs of a person. Liberalism (as
mentioned previously) believes in individualism and when housing is approached using that way of
thought a lot can be achieved, more than just building a shelter. In SHH, when a group of individuals
are building a house for themselves they don t build homogenous houses but the house that are built
are built to the individual family s need because the dwellers of that particular house are fully involved
in the building of their house. Therefor the imperfections and deficiencies found within those houses
that are build can be tolerated as the owner or occupier of that particular dwelling was involved in the
designing and construction of that dwelling. The only thing that is required from the government is
providing key infrastructure, social facilities, health amenities, education amenities and other services

game changer in the politic world. politicians could now speak to many people at once, and send their

never permitted or to get opportunity to contend in the electoral process, then the countries are really
deprived themselves of a great deal of talent. That s why national and international organizations, be it
governmental and non government attained sturdy efforts towards empowering the women in all the
fields including politics. For increasing the contribution of women in political decision, making it is
essential to confiscate the stumbling block in the way of women in different fields be it economic,

Dimmesdale And Roger Chillingworth In The Scarlet Letter
Reverend Mr. Dimmesdale and Roger Chillingworth are two important characters in the story The
Scarlet Letter written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Mr. Dimmesdale, a young minister developed an
important relationship with Roger Chillingworth, a physician. The relationship between Roger
Chillingworth and Reverend Mr. Dimmesdale starts off as a Doctor patient ,and changes as they both

Iran s Domestic Affairs And Foreign Policy
The historical lift of decades long sanctions on Iran earlier this year has sparked numerous discussions
about what the future holds for the country. Without a doubt, possibilities that have been blocked by
the past economic sanctions are now accessible to Iran. However, it s crucial to understand that change
cannot happen overnight. In fact, it may take years or even decades for Iran to catch up with the
majority of countries around the world. There are some notable events in Iran s domestic affairs that
can assist us in navigating where the semi theocratic regime appears to be headed. One of them would
be the recent Iranian election and its conceivable outcomes. This paper will examine the possible

Nevertheless, we may deduce that recent elections suggested Iran s leaders and not merely reformists
have learned that the most effective way to mitigate this dilemma is to forge a peace deal with some of
their rivals. The prospects for such a deal emerged when Rouhani publicly assailed the Guardian
Council, asserting that the parliament is the house of the people and not a particular faction. 2 While
the Council of Guardians ignored this signal and chose instead to disqualify Hassan Khomeini along
with thousands of other would be candidates persistent criticism of the council s actions from
Rouhani, Rafsanjani, and others compelled it to readmit some 1,500 aspiring candidates political
novices, to be sure, rather than veteran reformists, but whose ranks included many supporters of
Rouhani and his allies. These dynamics suggest a grudging readiness by Iran s top leadership to
negotiate a political accommodation that could very slowly, yet eventually favor greater pluralism and
openness in the Islamic Republic. This seems to be the objective of Iran s reformists, who with
Rouhani s support have signaled a growing measure of political sophistication, strategic vision, and
unity.3

Punk Rock Research Paper
The first of these, punk rock, is the one that is most often discussed by music critic, but this
connection is rarely explored beyond a paragraph or two at the most. This is unfortunate, given that
these two musical traditions share much in common, with perhaps the biggest similarity being that
both are defined by a raw and unpolished sound, as well as do it yourself (DIY) work ethic. Punk rock
has its origin in the garage rock groups of the 1960s, whose members were often from white, middle
class, suburban families. Garage rock was raw and unpolished, reflecting the relative amateurism of
the musicians, and it was often stylistically simple, making use of only a handful of distorted bar
chords (i.e. power chords). By 1971, music critic Dave Marsh had developed the term punk rock to
better describe a number of these groups many of whom were beginning to espouse rebellious
philosophies in their lyrics. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then, in 1973, a major economic recession affected much of the Western world, leading to high
unemployment and monetary inflation. Many young individuals living in the nations most hurt
became despondent and picked up guitars so as to vent their frustrations via music. By the middle of
the decade, major bands like The Ramones and The Sex Pistols were releasing albums, charting
singles, and causing controversy with their stick it to the Man antics. During this time, punk was
mostly confined to the US, the UK, and Australia, but during the last few years of the 1970s, the genre
exploded elsewhere. By the 1980, punk had splintered into many subgenres (such as hardcore and new
wave), and by the 1990s, a more radio friendly variant now commonly referred to as pop punk became
popular thanks to bands like Bad Religion, Green Day, NOFX, The Offspring, and

An outlier is somebody that is distant from the rest. A person that you may classify as unique from
those who may be standard or parallel to everyone else. You may not see it however, surrounding us
we are permeated with outliers. Kendall Jenner is an outlier of our time because she had work ethic,
family, and opportunity.
To be successful you need work ethic. You have to get things accomplished and become the person
you want to be, all through hard work and effort. Kendall Jenner demonstrates this by starting young
and progressing towards her goals. Beginning something at an early age helps to be seen and being

all started when Kris, her mom called tv producers and paid money to start a reality show. The
producers thought it would be a hit tv show with the drama that the sisters brought to the table. Thats
where it all began, no the Kardashian family didn t do anything life changing to be sitting where they

wouldn t be there if Kris didn t make that one phone call. Leading after that the Kardashians became
famous, earned money, and moved to Los Angeles. The clan then got offers from all over the country
to be the face of clothing, perfume lines etc. Soon Kourtney Kim and Khloe had their very own store,
called DASH. From there on Kendall and Kylie the youngest sisters were spoiled. They always got
what they wanted, so becoming a model for Kendall couldn t be that hard, right? Again kendall had
the opportunity to ask her family to help her become who she is today, which makes her an outlier

The Cause And Effects Of The Great Recession
The Great Recession was an economic recession that took place across the globe during the late
2000s. It was caused by the bursting of an $8,000,000,000,000 housing bubble. A housing bubble is
caused by a substantial increase in real estate property values to an unsustainable level until a limit is
reached where the market collapses. This led to less consumer spending, a collapse in business
investing, and eventually an increase in job loss. Family wealth dropped, and the price of oil increased
greatly. The Great Recession created a lasting aftermath on the economy and the lives of Americans.
The impact of the staggering loss of financial investments and employment security, and the decline of
real estate value that devastated the U.S. economy during the Great Recession, is still being felt even
to this day. The unemployment rate is still returning to normal after the Great Recession. This is
because during the economic recession, job loss increased dramatically. This had a huge impact on the
lives of Americans. According to Investopedia, As a result of the Great Recession, the United States
alone shed more than 7.5 million jobs, causing its unemployment rate to double. Further, American
households lost roughly $16 trillion of net worth as a result of the stock market plunge. (Investopedia)

Gender In Advertising
Taking a look at the details can make a big impact in what you think you are seeing. On the outside,
we see sexes that are the biological differences in individuals, but what about the concept of gender?
The expectations that society creates about men and women establish these levels of association
people gather together. As these roles come about, people begin to grow accustom and oblivious to the
reoccurring presence. In the current era, media continues to expand all over the areas of daily living.
One of the major forms of communication is advertising, which relays information to society about a

gender is intertwined into these forms of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only is gender forcefully depicted over the course of life, but also the level of intensity in the
advertisements is seen quite often. Sexual influence is used abundantly towards men, and businesses
find a way to incorporate this factor in almost anything. One of the more gentle ads is the M M pin
that has the green candy taking off her outer shell. The sex appeal from the candy gives off a vibe to
men that if they purchase this product, they will be satisfied. Not only is it seen through a cartoon
candy, but in real life women too. The intensity increases for products that more older men would see.
As seen on television, the well known Hardee s commercials utilize women as a way to pair burgers
with romance. These commercials vary in magnitude, but one of the more vulgar ones is the all natural
burger. The main girl appears to be naked throughout the commercial, and gives off seductive vibes
that put the male actors in a trance. Curiosity grows as in continues to stream, and at the end the
audience see that the girl is clothed, rather in a skimpy outfit, with of course, the burger. Another pin
that displays similar intensity is the Charlotte Brillat Savarin cheese ad, which has a girl mostly naked,
only covered by an apron. Even though the advertisement is for cheese, the woman adds a way to gain
the attention of men, who socially are viewed to desire sex appeal. All in all, the pins reveal that the
gender identity for real men is aimed at intimate relationships with

Physical And Social Context Of The Building
Examine the physical and social context of the building
The Glass House is a building in which personal qualities are a vital component of the construction
framework. The house is focusing on the correlation between an individual and buildings. There are
architectural rules including conventions that establish a guide and maintain traditional approaches to
building structures. However, Phillip Johnson operates against these standards of design rules and
highlights the modernistic period due to the buildings orientation and non traditional materials. The
structure of the house is revealing the materials and aesthetic qualities.
The house further highlights that Phillip Johnson works in a non social vacuum. However, he reflects
several aspects of social structures. Having these aspects influences and demonstrates how, when, time
and place the structure was built. Glass House remains located in a tropical environment away from
street view, due to it being secluded and isolated. The primary materials applied consist of paints,
glass, bricks and furniture. The physical context of the environment constantly shifts the efficiency
and sustainability of the materials. Resulting in a constant change in colour and odour, mainly due to
environmental factors such as change of temperature.
The house being secluded from public display enables the house to be private and only exposed to the
tropical environment. The interior of the glass house has a cylindrical brick structure that

Identify The Complex World Of Identity
Identifying the complex world of Identity
Overview
The concept of identity is difficult to define as it is ambiguous. It can be interpreted from many
different perspectives, and environments. In its most basic form it is the way that people see
themselves. This includes one s assumptions about them self as Cliford Geertz would put it, and the
society around them. Furthermore scholarship defines identity as the way people see themselves in the
context of nature, and how people see animate and inanimate aspects of the natural world. (Hoffman,
1998) We live in an all encompassing society however so identity includes all ranges from national,
social, personal, environmental, religious, and even political identities.

identity of the enclave residents to be forever tarnished. Some never had the chance to learn how to

so on. Collectively the identity in which all these enclave members formerly had which tied them to

Wrongful Convictions Guy Paul Morin Case
Among the many differing cases of wrongfully convicted Canadians, the case of Guy Paul Morin is
very interesting. There were many issues that caused an innocent man from Queensville, Ontario to be
convicted of the murder of Christine Jessop. We re going to look at how the police failed to conduct a
thorough investigation, how the court system failed, and how cases like this can be preventing in the
future. Christine Jessop was a nine year old girl who after bring dropped off by the school bus at her
home in Queensville decided to ride her bike to the park nearby to meet with her friends. After
stopping to buy some gum at the local store she was last seen walking her bike up her driveway by her
friend Kim Warren. She did not keep her appointment with her friend at the park, and would never be
seen alive again (Anderson Anderson, 2009). This small town instantly became involved in the search
for the missing girl, but with very little evidence to go on time passed, and hope began to diminish for
the safe return home of Jessop. On New Year s Eve 1984, eighty nine days after Jessop went missing,
her body was found badly decomposed in a bush by Fred Patterson fifty five kilometers from
Queensville. An autopsy would later revival that she was raped and mutilated (Anderson Anderson,
2009). The police still did not have a suspect in the case nor did they have any leads, but now that her
body was found the police and the small town were the topic of media, increasing pressure

The painting is non realistic but speaks to a theme of politics and social order. Francisco de Goya, Executions on the Third of May, 1808, 1814 15 oil on canvas is a stylized depiction of life during the invasion of Spain by Napoleon. Like the Picasso, this piece also speaks to politics and social order. The line is the first noticeable difference in the two pieces. Picasso uses very straight lines and geometric shapes, giving a feeling of end or absolution, while Goya has a much more flowing line which lends to motion, and reality. Goya uses bright vibrant color to draw the viewers eye the man with guns being panted at him and then to the red blood spread around below him, while Picasso uses a gray scale and value allowing the mind to either fill in the color, or, as it does for me, really combine it all like an explosion, and parts and pieces of each. The line and color in Goya lends to a motion, a life, an intensity about the situation, where the lack of color, and fixed line and geometric shape all seem stale and still. I asked her more than once that she didn t have to wait outside. She told me not to give it another thought, but I could tell something was bothering her. The next day I waited in the shadows out of sight of everyone in the large atrium of my building and walked out and placed my hand on the shoulder of the head of my security and asked him who in the hell told him that Eddie wasn t allowed into my building? I made a call into my little brother and he explains that it was all a misunderstanding. The head of security was sent to another one of my buildings instead of being kicked out of a job all because of Eddie. One of my favorite restaurants somehow had changed their dress code, but I asked to speak with the owner and he was surprised that anyone would prevent me from dinning in his establishment. This was especially true when he spoke strongly to his people that I was the silent partner who kept him in business when the bank wanted to foreclose on him. Not only did I payoff the deed, I had also brought the entire building. Of course my little brother said apologetically that he had just made a comment he had overheard said from someone else and had no idea the people who worked in that restaurant overheard his conversation. The authors of these poems can use language, tone, structure and many other ways to convey personal relationships. The poem Valentine by Carol Ann Duffy uses many of these aspects. The main idea of this poem is to compare an onion to the love a woman has for her lover. The poem Sonnet 130 by Shakespeare also uses language, tone, structure and imagery. This poem however uses them in a different way. This poem is about how a man loves his wife/lover in his own special way. These two poems use language, tone, structure, rhyme/rhythm and imagery to express a personal relationship. Language is a very important part of every poem as it helps convey the author s message. Poems can use lots of different language devices to convey the message and really grab the reader s attention. You can use a simile, which is making a comparison of two things using like or as. Like in Valentine it will blind you with tears like a lover is a simile. This shows how a lover can leave you in tears when the leave you heartbroken. Children s participation is considered to lead to better decision making, whether this is in relation to projects that are interested on issues of specific concern to the children (Lansdown, 2003) or within development processes in the wider society (Phillips, 2000). Additionally, in some people s view, functioning with children may be the most successful way of bringing out issues of concern within the society as a whole since the young are less self conscious in their discussion of matters. It is usually supposed that the Unite Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) provides an apparent support for children s participation. Actually, this issue has been questioned by quite a few commentators. It is pointed out, for instance, that the reference in Article 12 to children s developing capacities and the proclamation in Article 3 about children s best interests both offer valuable grounds for adults to take priority over the expressed ideas and wishes of children ( Cantwell, 1998; Liebel,2000). • 14. The Downfall Of The Romanov Dynasty In a burgeoning climate of autocracy, the Romanov dynasty was firmly established in the societal framework of early 20th century Russia. Having been in varying degrees of absolute political control over an approximate time period of four hundred years, their eventual undoing marked a power shift polarising the imperial regime laid out by countless Tsars beforehand. Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia, is recognised to have a degree of personal responsibility for the downfall of the Romanovs, yet the extent to which his decision making skills can be held accountable is questioned by some historians. Despite this, multiple political, social, and military facets of Nicholas II s reign were handled with instability, and his perceived lack of legitimacy due to this poor decision making ultimately was a major causative factor to the downfall of his family s vast dynasty. Various aspects of Nicholas II s political decisions reflected his clear unsuitability for the role of Tsar, and these decisions form a preliminary basis for both his own legacy of incompetency the eventual undoing of the Romanovs. In comparison to rulers preceding, Nicholas was ill prepared for the role: his father, Alexander III, failed to adequately develop his son s understanding of civil state responsibilities before his death in 1894, under the guise that he would live long enough to teach Nicholas of these affairs. The issue of child soldiers is as complex as it is atrocious, and its heinous nature has prompted the international community to pour vast amounts of time and resources into finding a solution. Despite humanitarian and government organizations best efforts, the numbers have remained relatively static over the decades, with over 300,000 underage combatants worldwide (Vautravers 96). While the use of child soldiers is not a new occurrence, the real international push to end the practice did not begin until the late eighties, with the 1989 Convention of the Rights of a Child, or the CRC. It quickly gained over 190 signatures, making it one of the most ratified U.N. documents in history and ushering in a new era that prioritized child rights and fought injustice (Singer 569). However, since then the number of child soldiers has remained relatively stagnant, with 85 countries utilizing child soldiers in armed groups as of 2004 (Kargbo 487). Some scholars, such as P.W. Singer in his article, Talk is Cheap: Getting Serious about Preventing Child Soldiers, would contend that current legislation lacks teeth, allowing militant groups to run rampant and flout responsibilities without consequence. For example, a rebel group in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, or DRC, promised not to use child soldiers, only to continue flaunting its underage army weeks later (Singer 571). Since the U.N. lacks any methods of enforcing legislation other than diplomatic pressure, which is rarely successful, armed groups will often deliberately disregard standards set forth and receive little or no punishment. This, coupled with the fact that most commanders these standards are aimed at are either illiterate or out of reach of state authority, makes almost all current legislation useless (Kargbo 490). Notably, this issue presents itself when the enemy evolves from a conceptual being into a human, which causes soldiers to realize that they are killing men who are no different from them. This is unfortunate, given that these two musical traditions share much in common, with perhaps the biggest similarity being that both are defined by a raw and unpolished sound, as well as do it yourself (DIY) work ethic. Punk rock has its origin in the garage rock groups of the 1960s, whose members were often from white, middle class, suburban families. Garage rock was raw and unpolished, reflecting the relative amateurism of the musicians, and it was often stylistically simple, making use of only a handful of distorted bar chords (i.e. power chords). A housing bubble is caused by a substantial increase in real estate property values to an unsustainable level until a limit is reached where the market collapses. The sex appeal from the candy gives off a vibe to men that if they purchase this product, they will be satisfied. Not only is it seen through a cartoon candy, but in real life women too. The intensity increases for products that more older men would see. As seen on television, the well known Hardee s commercials utilize women as a way to pair burgers with romance. Physical And Social Context Of The Building Examine the physical and social context of the building The Glass House is a building in which personal qualities are a vital component of the construction framework. The house is focusing on the correlation between an individual and buildings. There are architectural rules including conventions that establish a guide and maintain traditional approaches to building structures. However, Phillip Johnson operates against these standards of design rules and highlights the modernistic period due to the buildings orientation and non traditional materials. The structure of the house is revealing the materials and aesthetic qualities. The house further highlights that Phillip Johnson works in a non social vacuum. However, he reflects several aspects of social structures. Having these aspects influences and demonstrates how, when, time and place the structure was built. Glass House remains located in a tropical environment away from street view, due to it being secluded and isolated. The primary materials applied consist of paints, glass, bricks and furniture. The physical context of the environment constantly shifts the efficiency and sustainability of the materials. Resulting in a constant change in colour and odour, mainly due to environmental factors such as change of temperature. • 35. Wrongful Convictions Guy Paul Morin Case Among the many differing cases of wrongfully convicted Canadians, the case of Guy Paul Morin is very interesting. There were many issues that caused an innocent man from Queensville, Ontario to be convicted of the murder of Christine Jessop. We re going to look at how the police failed to conduct a thorough investigation, how the court system failed, and how cases like this can be preventing in the future. Christine Jessop was a nine year old girl who after bring dropped off by the school bus at her home in Queensville decided to ride her bike to the park nearby to meet with her friends.
