Australia Is A Romantic Action Adventure
National Cinema is often used to describe simply the films produced within a particular nation state
. (Higson, 2015) Nations have distinctive stylistic devices, often featuring stereotypical settings and
characters in the attempt to represent the essence of the nation s culture. This is apparent when
comparing the Australian drama, Australia(2008) with A Separation (2011), an Iranian drama. Both
films reflect through a set of norms, behaviours, beliefs and customs their nations culture,
demonstrating that films are not made in a vacuum. (Smith, 2015)
Australia is a romantic action adventure, directed by Baz Luhrmann, set in Australia prior to World
War II. The plot centres on an English aristocrat who inherits a large cattle farm.... Show more

However, when he discovers the new maid has been lying to him, he realizes that there is more at
stake than his failing marriage. (iTunes, 2011)
In relation to national cinema, the combinations of social and cultural factors strongly influence the
setting of a film. Australia references the old Australian language and traditional Aboriginal
terminology including herd, mouthorgan, rush, station, willy willy, whitefellas, billabong and more
(Park, 2011), Australians have an inherent understanding of this language however an international
audience would not be familiar with it. The very nature of the language makes Australia
identifiable to the country in which it was created. The portrayal of character is also a depiction
of the film s national origin. In Australia, the drover , is not only the character s name but also a
colloquial term that refers to an experienced stockman, who moves livestock, usually sheep or
cattle over long distances. (New South Whales State Library, 2013)
Australia both identifies the visual appeal of the landscape traditions (Khoo, Smaill and Yue) and
harsh reality of the Australian bush. Breaking the romanticized illusion of the land. One example
of this is when Lady Ashley is first travelling to Faraway Dawns . She notices a mob of kangaroos
jumping past her vehicle, she comments on their elegance and how she has never seen one before.

The First Half Of Discovering Missions
The first half of Discovering Missions written by Culbertson and Gailey introduce the countless
aspects of missions and related terminology in reference to missions. Throughout the book, the
focus is then directed to the important factors that play a part in missions. Chapters eight through
fourteen covers the importance of intercultural communication, volunteerism in mission,
development of missionaries, the contrasting philosophies and strategies of mission, the new
contexts from missions, the importance of mobilizing the local church and the changes affecting
mission today. From this reading, I have learned the important factors that have an effect on
missions and various ways in which they effect missions.
Intercultural communication is a form of communication that aims to share information across
different cultures and social groups. A form of communication is language. It is often viewed as an
important factor in relation to the cultural perspective. The cultural perspective refers to the way
that individuals are shaped by their environments as well as social and cultural factors. It affects
how people relate to one another and their ability to communicate. Language is essential in the
study and practice of global mission.
It is of great importance in the study and practice of global mission that we are able to
communicate effectively through having the knowledge of various languages. Being able to
effectively communicate enables us to reach those who we are

Analysis Of The Toy Industry, Making The Threat Of New...
Analysis External Threat of New Entrants
There are many barriers to new organizations in the toy industry, making the threat of new entrants
low. Lego and other big toy companies like Mattel benefit from economies of scale. An economy of
scale is achieved by lower costs through large volume production (Textbook glossary). Economies
of scale can occur in many departments within the organization including production, marketing,
research and development, and finance. Some manufacturing of Lego products was shifted to
Central Europe and Mexico in order to benefit from lower wages and to shorten product supply
chains (p. 13 of case). The management of Lego additionally holds expertise on production,
distribution and customer needs; which are absent in a new organization. To enter the toy sector a
potential entrant needs to calculate the start of production at a level that will give a competitive
position and production costs lower than the market.
The high brand equity of Lego and other well established organizations offer another disadvantage
to new entrants. Collaborations with the film industry helped Lego sustain market share and
increase sales volume in the toy industry through franchise agreements on Harry Potter and Star
Wars. Rivalry among existing Firms
The competitive rivalry in the toy industry is intense. Organizations try to sell through their own
retailers and online instead of solely through other retailers. Flexibility and responsiveness to the

The Influence Of Zoonosis
It appears that zoonosis has added another means of infecting humans to its arsenal. A
veterinarian at a New York City animal shelter where cats were infected with a strain of bird flu
was also infected by the strain of flu that the cats had. As we all know zoonosis is a disease that
can be transmitted to humans from animals. In this case it was the cats housed in the shelter.
Fortunately, as reported by the New York City health department, only the veterinarian was
infected. The vet only had a mild illness from the virus, called H7N2. More than 160 Animal Care
Centers of NYC employees and volunteers, including several people who had similar exposure to
sick cats, were screened by the Health Department and not found to have an infection with the
H7N2 virus, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Normally we think of zoonosis origins that are associated with the production of food. This case
is slightly different because felines are not part of the usual American diet. However, there are
several conditions that fostered a favorable habitat for a zoonotic event to occur. The first stage
no doubt began with much earlier events, perhaps when pigs first caught the flu and infected
humans. In turn people infected pigs with the flu. Each brewed a unique and mutated version of
the virus to spread to the next host. The second stage possibly began with the central housing of
multiple felines from assorted origins and with varied health conditions. These animals once
adopted are distributed into a wide geographical into homes of owners who interact in close
proximity of their pet, and come in contact with body fluids and fecal matter of their pets. In
addition to the other variables, the people who receive these pets have a wind range of overall
levels of health too. This formula creates a perfect equation for the door to open for the next
emergence of a new pandemic strain to seize the lives of humans and felines

Physical Environment In Africa
It is easy to forget about the trials and tribulations of the physical world because we are constantly
being distracted by the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. Between rising skyscrapers, expanding
cities, and growing populations many forget about the ground they walk on and how their actions
impact the long term use of the land we capitalize on every day. In Africa, the physical environment
has a huge impact on what plants and vegetation grow throughout the continent, affecting how its
inhabitants live their daily lives. It is through Africa s physical environment and climatevariability
that determines the continent s diverse vegetation species and drives local economies.
Africa s Physical Environment
Africa s physical environment is a vast piece of land due to several factors. A large reason as to
why the continent is so large is because of the number of cratons that exist throughout the continent,
which contain areas that are composed of ancient crystalline basement rock (Child, Lesson 2.1,
2017). Due to its long dated history, Africa has a very complex geological makeup. Another
contributor to this vast continent s physical environment is the impact of tectonic plates. Because
the tectonic plate Africa sits on is relatively stationary and there has been no collision of
neighboring plates, mountain chains have not formed. However, a geographical element that is
well known due to the impact of continental plates is the formation of the Great Rift Valley
(McKenna).

Plain Folk Of A Rich Man s War
Plain Folk in a Rich Man s War is a narrative of the Civil War in Georgia from the perspective of
those who were not a part of the elite planter class. As opposed to focusing on the war from the
romanticized Lost Cause viewpoint championed by mainstream media, this book tells the often
glossed over struggles of the tenant farmers, sharecroppers, and other poor whites who supplied
much of the Confederacy s fighting force. The war time experiences of these plain folk is broken
up into three main sections: the actions of the Confederate government and the planter class, the
plain folk s responses to these actions during the war, and how this chain of circumstances
ultimately led to the downfall of the Confederacy and Union victory in the Civil War. In doing so,
this book bridges a significant gap in the literature by illuminating an aspect of the war usually
overshadowed by the idea that the Confederacy, composed of genteel southern gentlemen and their
belles, was united behind Jefferson Davisfrom secession until surrender at Appomattox. A cursory
examination of popular culture will reveal a very rosy picture of life in the southern United States
even today. The summers are hotter, the tea is sweeter, and the conversation is slower. We pride
ourselves on hospitality and moss draped sycamore trees. The Civil War, more commonly known
below the Mason Dixon as the War of Northern Aggression , is talked about as though it was the
end of a way of life longed to be

Despite the similarity in their thinking of using cell phones are dangerous, Bauer and Badger
differ in their perspectives about traffic collisions and the role of cell phones in distracted
driving. Bauer mentions about the development of cell phones, that made people use their minds
on smartphones more than anything else. In his article, he has strongly confirmations to protect
his opinion to explain that cell phones are the reason of almost accidents. He gave information
via the research about a number of people were injured or died because of accidents, and they
were holding devices. The percentage of distracted drivers could shield his quotes from the
suspicion of other people like Badger in her Article. While Bauer decided the importance of the
role of cell phones in a traffic collision, Badger has chosen that the human behavior is the primary
reason affected to accidents. She mentioned more about the behavior of humans when they couldn t
stop themselves looking at their phone when they listen to the ringtone. People could easily lose
the concentration on their work. She thinks people could do many different things while driving
like using makeup products or eating, talking with other people in cars. And cell phones are just
one of many different reasons caused by distracted driving. Although both Bauer and Badger have
the same point of view about the danger of using phones while driving, the role of the cell

The Rate Of Diffusion Process
As an organism increases in its size the surface region to volume ratio decreases over a
pobtainable eriod of time. This implies that the living being has a moderately less surface area
which allows substances to diffuse through the organism, so the rate of diffusion might not be as
fast to meet the prerequisites of a living being. Large multicellular organisms for that reason cannot
definitely depend on the diffusion process alone in order for it to source their cells with such
substances for example, sustenance and oxygen and to remove waste products. Large multicellular
organisms require particualr transport systems as they are certain in its function. The smaller the
organism the larger the surface area volume ratio, this provides... Show more content on

However, unicellular organism is single celled organisms that can only be dependent on
diffusion to move substances in and out of the cells. Whereas its surface area is fairly large
compared to the volume of the organism, this means that the nutrients and other substances can
easily go through the cell membrane and around its body . Smaller cells have a substantial
surface area compared to cell volume, while larger cells have a diminished proportionof surface
area to volume. This is the reason why bacterial cells are so small is that they need a large
surface area to cell volume to take in nutrients. Microbes collect nutrients from the environment
by diffusion. Single celled organisms such as Euglena, does not need a specialised area to carry
out gaseous exchange because they have large surface area to volume ratio (SA:Vol), so the
demand for the gases such as O2 and CO2 is low and the body surface area SA enough to meet
needs by diffusion. In a large organism diffusion is a net movement of particles from an area of
higher concentration to an area of lower concentration. It is a passive process and it doesn t
require energy, whereas Osmosis is the movement of water molecules across a partially
permeable membrane from an area of higher water potential to an area of lower water potential.

The And Rogers Park Community
Throughout the Edgewater and Rogers Park community, my focus was on the physical health and
well being of the members of the community. The assets identified were doctor s offices, small
clinics and clinics that are a part of a larger chain. Each of these assets show the diversity in the
medical care offered in the Edgewater and Rogers Parkcommunity. For example, the assets that
we found were mostly privately owned and the clinics that are part of a larger chain such as the
clinics in Walgreens or CVS, were small and run by only a few people. There weren t any assets
that were part of a large medical institution such as Advocate or Nova health. There was only one
hospitalwhich is Methodist Hospital which is one of the largest assets we found. This illustrates
how in the Edgewater and Rogers Park community, smaller and more convenient methods of
receiving healthcare is emphasized more than larger scale hospitals. The asset that I researched
and interviewed was Physicians Immediate Care on 6140 North Broadway in Edgewater
Chicago. This is a small clinic which is actually part of a larger chain of clinics that are located in
Nebraska, Indiana, and Illinois. This particular clinic was run by the PhysicianAssistant. I learned
through the interview that the Physician Assistant can perform many of the tasks that a Doctor
could, however, they must practice under a Doctor s license. The Physician Assistant I interviewed
said that a Doctor will periodically come during the week

After several years of a hiring freeze, the Fire Department(FD) is seeking to expand its firefighting

of dedicated fire fighters which goes back generations. Contrastingly, a significant number of
minorities have been unable to meet the expectations of the FD s outdated recruitment practices

Specifically, neutral policies or practices that unevenly or unfavorably effect any protected class

In the past, women outperformed all candidates in exams despite failing the physical exams.
Ultimately, more white candidates dominated the civil service list from where appointments came
for years, the few minority candidates that passed never made the hiring list and women were have
never been hired. Based on the FD s statistics, there is compelling evidence indicative of both racial
and gender discrimination against racial minorities and women, in recruitment, testing, selection,
hiring and promotion to support the disparate impact theory (Guerin, n.d.). Therefore, as a
representative of the city, it is my recommendation that the FD cease and desist from sole use of
word of mouth recruitment and the continued use of flawed essay based exams as this would

now history, child labor is still significant in our time, all around the world. Today the number of
children, ages 5 14, working around the world are estimated to be increasing. Children are
constantly working in dangerous working environments that cost them their lives or hamper their
ability them to have a basic normal childhood that children have in America. These children miss
the opportunity to run and play with friends, have friends their own age, to explore the world
around them that they live in every day, have the opportunities to go to school to learn about the
world they live in, and expand their imagination. Instead children in some part of world are going
to mines and sweatshops to work instead of to school. They are working in dangerous places
instead of playing with kids their own ages, and we in America are helping with the growth of
child labor.
Although in America we have protected our next generation by out lawing child labor, we are
constantly helping the growth of child labor in other parts of the world. How you might ask? By
buying the products produced through child labor from other countries. As American consumers
we need to stop buying products produced by child labor. The sources that I will be analyzing and
will provide dates and facts to examine how we in America have increased the buying of products
from other countries that have child labor as their number one workforce, how by buying from
these countries has hurt Americans, how our import has increased, and exports decreased, and how
this has hurt America s economy dramatically.

Date: 27 January, 2017
The purpose of this report was to conduct a preliminary inspection to determine whether Canoe is
compliant with LA County s food handling, storage, and preparation regulations.
As requested, I have conducted an inspection at Canoe Restaurant, Pasadena regarding compliance
with LA County s food handling, storage, and preparation regulations to meet the same level of
exceptional standard practiced at Aqua and to ensure their compliance with Los AngelesCounty s

The following are the observations made;
1.The kitchen thermometer read 73 degrees F which is higher than the required standards also, a
large frozen turkey was kept in a dish on the counter to defrost. This can be considered as very
unhygienic. Although, the head chef explains that he was preparing a chicken casserole and a beef
vegetable soup for the lunch special. This violation could cause cross contamination of food and
equipment used to prepare food. 2.There was no Proper hygiene in the use of kitchen utensils. It was
observed that the assistant chef was chopping the beef into tiny cubes and once she gets done, she
used the same chopping instrument to chop the chicken into small pieces without cleaning and
sanitizing the instrument.
3.Though the kitchen staff looked wonderful in their bright, clean uniforms and gloves, none of
them including the head chef appeared to be wearing hair nets. This act of carelessness can result

Religion Reflection
Before taking American Religious Lives, I had previously taking Mystery and Meaning, that was
my first encounter with religion. Essentially everything that we have learned in the class has been
new to me because I do not have any prior experience with American religion, since my other
Religious Studies class focused on Asian and Native American religions. Growing up I never went
to church growing up, but I was baptized, but never understood what that meant. I do no think of
myself who is involved or a part of any religion. The fact that I am unfamiliar makes the class very
challenging for me, but it is also a good type of challenge because it makes me work harder to
understand all the topics discussed in class and it makes me really have to think deeper about all
the topics. Not being associated with any religion is also helpful because I can be an outsider
and not have a biased opinion and not have to choose a side of the different religious
perspectives. Religion seems like it is a very complex topic, where a lot of religions in America
have different sects and each sect has a different background. I knew that Christianitywas the most
popular religion in America, but I did not know about all the different sects and that Christianity
as a whole is the faith of over 70% of Americans and that most of the other 30% is made up of
people who are unaffiliated with any religion. (Wormald, 1).
Another topic that I found intriguing was that most of the immigrants that come to

The Significant Dichotomy In Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Sinner or saint is a significant dichotomy in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Several characters are
able to bridge this: Spike and Buffy being two of the notable examples, playing both roles
throughout the series. However, the female vampires of the series consistently fall into the latter
category of sinner, and not only that, but a sexually deviant or hyper sexualized sinner. There are
no recurring female vampires in the show that do not become categorized in this extreme way.
Drusilla was once a nun, but once turned, all of that religious devotion disappears. Willow is only a
vampirein two different episodes, The Wish and Döppelgangland, yet the transformation that she
undertakes is memorable. This essay will discuss how female vampires,... Show more content on

These are two characters where this hyper sexuality is clear and overt, but it does not lessen the
sexualization of the two other recurring female vampires in the show: Darla and Harmony.
However, when considering the background of these two characters and their personalities
before they were turned, the general stereotype of sexual allure was applicable to their human
lives as well as their vampire lives. Darla was a prostitute who was dying of syphilis when the
Master turned her. She is able to use her human experiences to help seduce victims for food or
the Master s plans. In the first episode of BtVS, she appears to be the prey of a man who brings
her to Sunnydale High, but the audience quickly realizes that she is actually the predator.
Similarly, Harmony is a ditzy character before she is turned into a vampire. Once turned, she
remains a nuisance to Buffy and her gang of Scoobies. Her personality does not get an overhaul
and she is still willing to settle for any one will give her attention, power or popularity. Neither of
these aspects are surprising based on how the characters are written even as humans. The audience
does not expect vampires to turn

Conflict Between Cultural And Historical Norms
Women, whether in the western world or third world countries, are socialised in patriarchal
societies where misogyny is often internalised. As a result women often make choices, which reflect
their subordinate status to keep to the norm and stabilise themselves economically and socially.
Women in countries in sub Saharan Africa, South and East Asian areas, though in differing contexts
face similar struggles of subservience and manipulation. Women accommodate, resist or adapt to the
sexist oppressive system. Those who choose to bargain with the social constructs aim to enhance
their situation, giving them more power and to some extent freedom from ideological societies that
subjugate them.
Deniz Kandiyoti, s bargaining with patriarchy offers a complex but seemingly pertinent argument
in regards to the dichotomy between society and gender specific roles. Regarding their practices as
fluid and negotiable, where societies are the product of imposition that struggle between cultural
and historical norms. Within these systems of negotiation, Kandiyoti s juxtaposes agricultural labor
and classic patriarchy. Within Sub Saharan Africa gender relations tend to favor that of males,
receiving both credit and economic stability, however it is not just the men who contribute to the
economy but that of women. Patriarchal bargaining in Africa has resulted in women s resistance to
men s absolutist power over the access and value of their work. Kandiyoti sates women have very

American Open Library, The First Healing Facility
Americans have dependably been autonomous gathering of individuals. We simply don t care for
being advised what to do. This is genuine now as it was previously, or will be later on. It all
began in the early pilgrim time (1700) when we truly felt ourselves as Americans . Prior to that in
the 1600 s we were only pilgrims in the new America. In the 1700 s we battled with the British to
stop the union of France and Spain. We began our own particular daily paper, the Pennsylvania
Gazett distributed by Benjamin Franklin. We opened the first American open library, the first
healing facility. We began the postal administration with Benjamin Franklin as Postmaster General.
Everything was not immaculate in the provinces. The English Parliament began raising the charges
on transported in things, for example, sugar, espresso, materials and wines. We began raising the
issue of imposing taxes without any political benefit. The English Parliament ventured to present
the Quartering Act, obliging pioneers to house British troops and supply them with nourishment.
On April 19, 1775 an unordered shot starts the American Revolution. On the off chance that the
current inquiry is what were the occasions that prompt the severance of South Carolina? Why did
I burn through two passages on the American Revolution? Since I feel it is essential to help us to

The Importance Of Early Childhood Special Education
In the last several centuries there have been many scholars and researchers who took it upon
themselves to discover child development and childhood education. These intellectuals formulated
ideas and theories based on their discoveries, and they each contributed to different elements in the
realm of early childhoodspecial education; such as early childhood education, special education, or
compensatory educationprograms.
One such scholar, Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi is well known for initiating early childhood
education as a specific discipline. He believed that there was great value in education found through
nature and children s natural development and therefore he advocated in establishing activities in
the classroom that focused on what the students were interested in. Pestalozzi continued to enhance
early childhood education by contributing several different values. Pestalozzi thought that it was
vital that education should be in terms of the whole child. Additionally, he firmly believed that
each parent should be involved in his or her child s early education. One final opinion that he had
was that there are beneficial aspects to have a system of multiage groups where students can help
younger children in their academic studies.
When considering early childhood special education, childhood education and special education go
hand in hand . Just as in the establishment of early education, there are many contributors to special
education. Itard, Sequin, and Howe are

Research Paper On The Great Bear
The Bear: the Hunted Protector Ask any child about constellations and they will know about the
star formation known as The Big Dipper . The stars that form this asterism (Dubhe, Merak,
Phecda, Megrez, Alioth, Mizar, and Alkaid) are the brightest part of the constellation they make
whole, Ursa Major: The Great Bear. Although the constellation is certainly common enough to
recognize, I hold a more personal attachment to it. I grew up nearby a convent which owned a
crest marked with Ursa Major. The convent was a central root of the area, so the people often
had the crest and familiar Ursa Major constellation everywhere. When I look into the night sky
and see these familiar stars, they remind me of the people in the area who became close family
and friends. Like the bear it symbolized, this constellation will always be like a mother bear

positions, the bear rears on two legs and a hunter attacks it spraying the bear s blood on the trees.
This is why the leaves change colors in the fall. The hunters kill and eat the bear, but the skeleton

My Favorite Season
Fall, one of my favorite times of the year. Filled with changing colors, special holidays,
pumpkins, and the best thing in the world, apple cider doughnuts. Every year me and my family
spend one day to rake all the leaves together. We usually only do it that once and we almost never
finish. But we enjoy ourselves all the same.
This occurs on the same day every year, the day we go to the pumpkin farm. That day always
started early. We would wake up, quickly get ready, then drive to Burnt Toast for breakfast. Just
sitting there talking, and eating for awhile. After that we d get back up and drive to Gobert s to
begin the fun.
Only staying a little past lunch we would laugh, and play, and eat, and pick out our pumpkin.
Then right before leaving we would stand in line for half an hour. Just to get a dozen fresh apple
cider doughnuts. Even though they had the same doughnuts inside the main store with a shorter
wait. On the way home we divided all the doughnuts up between us. I always ate mine the
quickest, dad was usually second, and my mom and Noah, my brother, both only ever ate one of
theirs and saved the rest for later. Which Noah always ended up giving me one of his extras
anyway. Once home it was time to work , so we banded together to rake the leaves that are
always overflowing in our yard. Don t get me wrong we would work for a little bit, but then we d
just end up making the biggest pile of leaves we could, so Noah could jump in. Which caused my

Anderson Plastics Inc. Company Essay

In this case study Roger Gray and the Anderson Plastics Inc. Company has a many purchasing
problems and concerns. All of these problems are not directly caused my Roger Gray himself or
the purchasing department. In this report I will explain these problems and recommend ways in
which these problems can be resolved.
One problem in this company is the lack of staff in the purchasing department. The plants number
of products has increased from 250 to 550 and Roger Gray is still the only real purchasing agent
for the company. I believe with more help Roger Gray could spend more time monitoring
inventories instead of filling out order forms on the computer. If Roger Gray could have more help

Holding more of the stock on hand would also be an appropriate way to help prevent stock outs.
The company has never criticized Roger Gray for having too many items in stock. It is not
necessary to hold the extra items that you don t sell as much in stock, just the primary items. By
holding more of the primary resources in stock you will still be able to produce the items that
generate the most income. This will help keep customers happy, and will also keep some of the
plant running saving some money for the company.
The materials management systems need to be updated. They are never truly up to date or real
time amounts. The case says that the systems are usually a day or two behind so Roger never
actually knows what he has in stock. In order for Roger Gray to be able to do his job more
effectively it would help if he knew what he had on hand at any given time. Upgraded computer
and company software and hardware as a whole would make the company more efficient. The
company may also need to find a different way of controlling and monitoring stock numbers.
Possibly people could alert Roger or one of his fellow staff members when they are taking a load
of materials to a new place or area of the plant so he is aware of where everything is at all times.
Another issue within the company is the lack of communication from one department to the other.
This was the cause of one of the stock outs

My Knowledge And Understanding Of The Holy Spirit
My knowledge and understanding of the Holy Spirit began later than would be expected for
someone who was raised in the church since birth. I grew up in a tradition that, due to fears over the
exaltation of emotionality in some charismatic movements, responded by practically ignoring the
third part of the Trinity. While I knew the three names that made up the Trinity, the Holy Spiritwas
some forgotten concept that languished because revealing it might lead to excess. In some ways, I
think that fear is a testament to the incredible power dwelling in the Spirit. However, to ignore it
completely is an untenable position. While the Spirit has historically struggled to be accepted as a
full person within the Trinity, I firmly believe, as do... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that this understanding of the role of the Holy Spirit provides a fuller and more
theologically consistent view of the work of the Spirit.
Before I can progress on this point, I must first provide demonstrate the foundation of my beliefs in
the Spirit and its gifts. Belief in the Holy Spirit is one of the defining traits of Christianity ; however
defining such an entity comprehensively and succinctly is difficult. One definition, merely to begin
the discourse, can be found in the The Anchor Bible Dictionary. There, the Holy Spirit is defined as
the manifestations of divine presence and power perceptible especially in prophetic inspiration.
This definition is simplistic and laden with theological assumptions which, but it provides a starting
point in this discussion. One of the primary components that initially struck me from this definition
is the emphasis on the role of the Spirit in prophecy and inspiration. This idea does not spring out of
nothing, but is routinely supported by writings of the early church fathers and modern theologians.
However, this also feels restrictive, minimizing the role

Teens And Teen Pregnancy
As us females were young we all seem to become mothers, by playing with dolls, and playing
house with others our age. It may be easy for us to say that as children we thought they needed
some assistance, but in reality that was only our imagination. As little kids did we really think
about what it would be like to really have a baby? We were children, but see the thing here is that
teens are still children who are having other children. 16 year olds do not just wake up thinking
they want to have a baby, most of the time it just happens without being planned. Teens often do
not think about what life would be like as a parent which is easy to happen and we should be
informed on the reasons why and what it really is like. The first reason why a girl can easily get
pregnant is not being informed about contraceptives. There are about 1,700 school based health
centers nationwide in which about в…“ provide contraceptives. Sexual education is very
important when it comes to this, there are states that still require parents to sign off their children
receiving any sexual education in schools, in which many of the cases the parents and their kids
are too embarrassed to talk about. Although it is the parent s responsibility to talk about it, they do
not. When a teen is sexually active, it is important for them to let a parent know, so that they can
get checked. Another possible reason can be unwanted sex. According to Teenhelp.com four in ten
girls first experience happens at age 13

Using Facial Recognition Is An Invasion Of Privacy
Many people are raising the question whether using facial recognition is an invasion of privacy.
The leveraging of smart phones, tablets or a computers built in cameras, facial recognition
software can be used. (Counter, P. 2014) It s crucial to think before we go ahead with mass
marketing and produce the biometric systems is how often people bare their biometricsto the word.
According to Dave Aitel There s no real way to conceal this data from the world . Another
problem with the use of biometrics is one of the most important one, one a person s biometrics
have been compromised, and they will always be compromised . (Aitel, 2013) Take the popular
site Facebook as an example, as of August of 2015 Facebook has 1 billion active accounts. (N/A,
2015) If today if your account were to get hacked, you would just change the password. If were
to use biometrics, you would be stuck with the same hacked biometric password for the rest of
your life. Once a hacker has your face print, they can access your name, date of birth, find every
social networking account you own, and they can find you anytime you re on the streets, even
the stores you may shop at. According to Xiaoou he states I think it worries people because there
s something very permanent about it, even when you re talking about using your face or your
fingerprints to unlock a phone, this is a password we can never change. We only have one, and
once it s set up it s going to be your password for life.

that his policy would have to be changed. A section of the Christian clergy were angry that the

military incentive to remove the presence of the moriscos, however. While the battle in the

Protestants in Southern France in any attack on Spain itself. Phillip was extremely concerned
about Turkish power and agreed that any possibility of a Turkish morisco alliance would have to
be quashed. It is for these reasons that Phillip took the decision to take a sterner approach on the
moriscos in Granada. This new policy began in 1567. The morisocs were completely forbidden to

Donald Super Concept
Introduction to Life Span, Life Space Career development involves the integration of
psychological, sociological, educational, physical, economic, and chance factors that provide the
basis for a career over an individual s life (Isaacson. 1986). Career development is, in fact, a
lifelong process. (Isaacson, 1986, p. 17). Donald Super is primarily responsible for changing the
definition of vocational guidance from the process of assisting an individual to choose an
occupation, prepare for it, enter upon it, and progress in it to the process of helping a person to
develop and accept an integrated and adequate picture of himself (sic) and of his role in the world
of work, to test this concept against reality, and to convert it into reality, with satisfaction to
himself and to society. (Niles, S.G. Harris Bowlsbey, J. 2013). Super s multidiciplianry approach to
studying career development incorporated contributions from economics and sociology while
placing career behavior in the context of human development. Among the many important
theoretical contributions of originally suggested the important role of the self concept in career

For equity, we use the short term treasury bills rate of 3.54% and for debt, we use the spread
between S P 500 composite returns and short term US Treasury bill returns of 6.77% (in exhibit

assets related to the restaurant division had shorter useful lives and their debt was short term.
We calculated the return on equity and debt as 15.62% and 10.52% respectively (see appendix

Why I Believe In The Pickle Theory
I believe in the pickle theory. You may think I am going to talk about how the pickling process
relates to some other far off ideal, or how the number of seeds vary in every pickle and each
represents something else. But you d be wrong. My pickle theory has to do with tradition. Every
christmas my dad hides a pickle, a pepper, and a pea pod ornament. My two sisters and I then all
go searching for one of these three things. Whoever finds the pickle gets first pick, pepper gets
second, pea pod third. My dad then holds out three envelopes to choose from. Each envelope
contains a different amount of money, ranging from smaller to larger amounts. The catch is, you
don t know which envelope has which amount of money. This is where the pickle theory... Show

The second lesson I have learned from the pickle theory is that it winning isn t everything. Now
this may sound exactly like the first one, but I promise this is different. The thing with winning
in this sense is that you may get first place, but that doesn t necessarily mean you get first prize.
Often times when you win something you end up with a hollow victory, or a feeling that even
though you won, you some how lost. Although that is a much deeper subject in the same realm
of my own, it still kind of describes the feeling when you realized to lost. Big time. The things I
have learned simply from a pickle amaze me. I have changed the way I act in everyday life and I
have changed the way I react in situations. For example. If I were playing a game of monopoly, I

  • 2. Australia Is A Romantic Action Adventure National Cinema is often used to describe simply the films produced within a particular nation state . (Higson, 2015) Nations have distinctive stylistic devices, often featuring stereotypical settings and characters in the attempt to represent the essence of the nation s culture. This is apparent when comparing the Australian drama, Australia(2008) with A Separation (2011), an Iranian drama. Both films reflect through a set of norms, behaviours, beliefs and customs their nations culture, demonstrating that films are not made in a vacuum. (Smith, 2015) Australia is a romantic action adventure, directed by Baz Luhrmann, set in Australia prior to World War II. The plot centres on an English aristocrat who inherits a large cattle farm.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, when he discovers the new maid has been lying to him, he realizes that there is more at stake than his failing marriage. (iTunes, 2011) In relation to national cinema, the combinations of social and cultural factors strongly influence the setting of a film. Australia references the old Australian language and traditional Aboriginal terminology including herd, mouthorgan, rush, station, willy willy, whitefellas, billabong and more (Park, 2011), Australians have an inherent understanding of this language however an international audience would not be familiar with it. The very nature of the language makes Australia identifiable to the country in which it was created. The portrayal of character is also a depiction of the film s national origin. In Australia, the drover , is not only the character s name but also a colloquial term that refers to an experienced stockman, who moves livestock, usually sheep or cattle over long distances. (New South Whales State Library, 2013) Australia both identifies the visual appeal of the landscape traditions (Khoo, Smaill and Yue) and harsh reality of the Australian bush. Analysis External Threat of New Entrants There are many barriers to new organizations in the toy industry, making the threat of new entrants low. Lego and other big toy companies like Mattel benefit from economies of scale. An economy of scale is achieved by lower costs through large volume production (Textbook glossary). Economies of scale can occur in many departments within the organization including production, marketing, research and development, and finance. Some manufacturing of Lego products was shifted to Central Europe and Mexico in order to benefit from lower wages and to shorten product supply chains (p. 13 of case). The management of Lego additionally holds expertise on production, distribution and customer needs; which are absent in a new organization. To enter the toy sector a potential entrant needs to calculate the start of production at a level that will give a competitive position and production costs lower than the market. The high brand equity of Lego and other well established organizations offer another disadvantage to new entrants. Collaborations with the film industry helped Lego sustain market share and increase sales volume in the toy industry through franchise agreements on Harry Potter and Star Wars. Rivalry among existing Firms The competitive rivalry in the toy industry is intense. Organizations try to sell through their own retailers and online instead of solely through other retailers. A veterinarian at a New York City animal shelter where cats were infected with a strain of bird flu was also infected by the strain of flu that the cats had. As we all know zoonosis is a disease that can be transmitted to humans from animals. In this case it was the cats housed in the shelter. Fortunately, as reported by the New York City health department, only the veterinarian was infected. The vet only had a mild illness from the virus, called H7N2. This case is slightly different because felines are not part of the usual American diet. However, there are several conditions that fostered a favorable habitat for a zoonotic event to occur. The first stage no doubt began with much earlier events, perhaps when pigs first caught the flu and infected humans. In turn people infected pigs with the flu. Each brewed a unique and mutated version of the virus to spread to the next host. The second stage possibly began with the central housing of multiple felines from assorted origins and with varied health conditions. These animals once adopted are distributed into a wide geographical into homes of owners who interact in close proximity of their pet, and come in contact with body fluids and fecal matter of their pets. In addition to the other variables, the people who receive these pets have a wind range of overall levels of health too. • 7. Physical Environment In Africa It is easy to forget about the trials and tribulations of the physical world because we are constantly being distracted by the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. Between rising skyscrapers, expanding cities, and growing populations many forget about the ground they walk on and how their actions impact the long term use of the land we capitalize on every day. In Africa, the physical environment has a huge impact on what plants and vegetation grow throughout the continent, affecting how its inhabitants live their daily lives. It is through Africa s physical environment and climatevariability that determines the continent s diverse vegetation species and drives local economies. Africa s Physical Environment Africa s physical environment is a vast piece of land due to several factors. A large reason as to why the continent is so large is because of the number of cratons that exist throughout the continent, which contain areas that are composed of ancient crystalline basement rock (Child, Lesson 2.1, 2017). Due to its long dated history, Africa has a very complex geological makeup. Another contributor to this vast continent s physical environment is the impact of tectonic plates. Because the tectonic plate Africa sits on is relatively stationary and there has been no collision of neighboring plates, mountain chains have not formed. However, a geographical element that is well known due to the impact of continental plates is the formation of the Great Rift Valley (McKenna). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As opposed to focusing on the war from the romanticized Lost Cause viewpoint championed by mainstream media, this book tells the often glossed over struggles of the tenant farmers, sharecroppers, and other poor whites who supplied much of the Confederacy s fighting force. The war time experiences of these plain folk is broken up into three main sections: the actions of the Confederate government and the planter class, the plain folk s responses to these actions during the war, and how this chain of circumstances ultimately led to the downfall of the Confederacy and Union victory in the Civil War. In doing so, this book bridges a significant gap in the literature by illuminating an aspect of the war usually overshadowed by the idea that the Confederacy, composed of genteel southern gentlemen and their belles, was united behind Jefferson Davisfrom secession until surrender at Appomattox. A cursory examination of popular culture will reveal a very rosy picture of life in the southern United States even today. The summers are hotter, the tea is sweeter, and the conversation is slower. This implies that the living being has a moderately less surface area which allows substances to diffuse through the organism, so the rate of diffusion might not be as fast to meet the prerequisites of a living being. Large multicellular organisms for that reason cannot definitely depend on the diffusion process alone in order for it to source their cells with such substances for example, sustenance and oxygen and to remove waste products. Large multicellular organisms require particualr transport systems as they are certain in its function. The smaller the organism the larger the surface area volume ratio, this provides... Whereas its surface area is fairly large compared to the volume of the organism, this means that the nutrients and other substances can easily go through the cell membrane and around its body . Smaller cells have a substantial surface area compared to cell volume, while larger cells have a diminished proportionof surface area to volume. This is the reason why bacterial cells are so small is that they need a large surface area to cell volume to take in nutrients. Microbes collect nutrients from the environment by diffusion. Single celled organisms such as Euglena, does not need a specialised area to carry out gaseous exchange because they have large surface area to volume ratio (SA:Vol), so the demand for the gases such as O2 and CO2 is low and the body surface area SA enough to meet needs by diffusion. In a large organism diffusion is a net movement of particles from an area of higher concentration to an area of lower concentration. Argumentative Essay On Child Labor Child Labor Hurts Everyone In the past, women and men fought for the children of America to liberate them of the burden of harsh work and give them their childhood back. Although we want to believe that child labor is now history, child labor is still significant in our time, all around the world. Today the number of children, ages 5 14, working around the world are estimated to be increasing. Children are constantly working in dangerous working environments that cost them their lives or hamper their ability them to have a basic normal childhood that children have in America. These children miss the opportunity to run and play with friends, have friends their own age, to explore the world around them that they live in every day, have the opportunities to go to school to learn about the world they live in, and expand their imagination. Instead children in some part of world are going to mines and sweatshops to work instead of to school. They are working in dangerous places instead of playing with kids their own ages, and we in America are helping with the growth of child labor. Although in America we have protected our next generation by out lawing child labor, we are constantly helping the growth of child labor in other parts of the world. How you might ask? By buying the products produced through child labor from other countries. As American consumers we need to stop buying products produced by child labor. This is genuine now as it was previously, or will be later on. It all began in the early pilgrim time (1700) when we truly felt ourselves as Americans . Prior to that in the 1600 s we were only pilgrims in the new America. In the 1700 s we battled with the British to stop the union of France and Spain. We began our own particular daily paper, the Pennsylvania Gazett distributed by Benjamin Franklin. We opened the first American open library, the first healing facility. We began the postal administration with Benjamin Franklin as Postmaster General. Everything was not immaculate in the provinces. The English Parliament began raising the charges on transported in things, for example, sugar, espresso, materials and wines. We began raising the issue of imposing taxes without any political benefit. The English Parliament ventured to present the Quartering Act, obliging pioneers to house British troops and supply them with nourishment. On April 19, 1775 an unordered shot starts the American Revolution. On the off chance that the current inquiry is what were the occasions that prompt the severance of South Carolina? Why did I burn through two passages on the American Revolution? Since I feel it is essential to help us to remember what sort of individuals we Americans are. How we will defend ourselves. • 30. The Importance Of Early Childhood Special Education In the last several centuries there have been many scholars and researchers who took it upon themselves to discover child development and childhood education. These intellectuals formulated ideas and theories based on their discoveries, and they each contributed to different elements in the realm of early childhoodspecial education; such as early childhood education, special education, or compensatory educationprograms. One such scholar, Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi is well known for initiating early childhood education as a specific discipline. He believed that there was great value in education found through nature and children s natural development and therefore he advocated in establishing activities in the classroom that focused on what the students were interested in. Pestalozzi continued to enhance early childhood education by contributing several different values. Pestalozzi thought that it was vital that education should be in terms of the whole child. Additionally, he firmly believed that each parent should be involved in his or her child s early education. One final opinion that he had was that there are beneficial aspects to have a system of multiage groups where students can help younger children in their academic studies. When considering early childhood special education, childhood education and special education go hand in hand . Just as in the establishment of early education, there are many contributors to special education. Itard, Sequin, and Howe are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The stars that form this asterism (Dubhe, Merak, Phecda, Megrez, Alioth, Mizar, and Alkaid) are the brightest part of the constellation they make whole, Ursa Major: The Great Bear. Although the constellation is certainly common enough to recognize, I hold a more personal attachment to it. I grew up nearby a convent which owned a crest marked with Ursa Major. The convent was a central root of the area, so the people often had the crest and familiar Ursa Major constellation everywhere. When I look into the night sky and see these familiar stars, they remind me of the people in the area who became close family and friends. Like the bear it symbolized, this constellation will always be like a mother bear protecting my sweet memories as if they were cubs.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then, in autumn when the stars are in different positions, the bear rears on two legs and a hunter attacks it spraying the bear s blood on the trees. This is why the leaves change colors in the fall. The hunters kill and eat the bear, but the skeleton still remains on its back during the winter. Then, during the spring, a new bear comes out of its den and, the hunt begins ... • 32. My Favorite Season Fall, one of my favorite times of the year. Filled with changing colors, special holidays, pumpkins, and the best thing in the world, apple cider doughnuts. Every year me and my family spend one day to rake all the leaves together. We usually only do it that once and we almost never finish. But we enjoy ourselves all the same. This occurs on the same day every year, the day we go to the pumpkin farm. That day always started early. We would wake up, quickly get ready, then drive to Burnt Toast for breakfast. Just sitting there talking, and eating for awhile. After that we d get back up and drive to Gobert s to begin the fun. Only staying a little past lunch we would laugh, and play, and eat, and pick out our pumpkin. Then right before leaving we would stand in line for half an hour. Just to get a dozen fresh apple cider doughnuts. Even though they had the same doughnuts inside the main store with a shorter wait. On the way home we divided all the doughnuts up between us. I always ate mine the quickest, dad was usually second, and my mom and Noah, my brother, both only ever ate one of theirs and saved the rest for later. Which Noah always ended up giving me one of his extras anyway. Once home it was time to work , so we banded together to rake the leaves that are always overflowing in our yard. Don t get me wrong we would work for a little bit, but then we d just end up making the biggest pile of leaves we could, so Noah could jump in. Which caused my mom to demand family ... The plants number of products has increased from 250 to 550 and Roger Gray is still the only real purchasing agent for the company. Holding more of the stock on hand would also be an appropriate way to help prevent stock outs. The company has never criticized Roger Gray for having too many items in stock. It is not necessary to hold the extra items that you don t sell as much in stock, just the primary items. By holding more of the primary resources in stock you will still be able to produce the items that generate the most income. This will help keep customers happy, and will also keep some of the plant running saving some money for the company. The materials management systems need to be updated. They are never truly up to date or real time amounts. The case says that the systems are usually a day or two behind so Roger never actually knows what he has in stock. In order for Roger Gray to be able to do his job more effectively it would help if he knew what he had on hand at any given time. Upgraded computer and company software and hardware as a whole would make the company more efficient. The company may also need to find a different way of controlling and monitoring stock numbers. Possibly people could alert Roger or one of his fellow staff members when they are taking a load of materials to a new place or area of the plant so he is aware of where everything is at all times. While I knew the three names that made up the Trinity, the Holy Spiritwas some forgotten concept that languished because revealing it might lead to excess. There, the Holy Spirit is defined as the manifestations of divine presence and power perceptible especially in prophetic inspiration. This definition is simplistic and laden with theological assumptions which, but it provides a starting point in this discussion. One of the primary components that initially struck me from this definition is the emphasis on the role of the Spirit in prophecy and inspiration. A section of the Christian clergy were angry that the moriscos abided in name only and insisted that action needed to be taken. Donald Super Concept Introduction to Life Span, Life Space Career development involves the integration of psychological, sociological, educational, physical, economic, and chance factors that provide the basis for a career over an individual s life (Isaacson. 1986). Career development is, in fact, a lifelong process. (Isaacson, 1986, p. 17). Donald Super is primarily responsible for changing the definition of vocational guidance from the process of assisting an individual to choose an occupation, prepare for it, enter upon it, and progress in it to the process of helping a person to develop and accept an integrated and adequate picture of himself (sic) and of his role in the world of work, to test this concept against reality, and to convert it into reality, with satisfaction to himself and to society. WACC = Cost of Equity x (Equity/Debt +Equity) + Cost of Debt x (Debt/(Debt + Equity)) x (1 Tax Rate) This method is applied for Marriott as a whole and its three divisions (lodging, contract services and restaurants). Our decision to use short term rates was based on the reasoning that the assets related to the restaurant division had shorter useful lives and their debt was short term. We calculated the return on equity and debt as 15.62% and 10.52% respectively (see appendix 1.6) Using these estimates and the levered beta, we calculate the restaurant division s WACC as being 11.98%. You may think I am going to talk about how the pickling process relates to some other far off ideal, or how the number of seeds vary in every pickle and each represents something else. But you d be wrong. My pickle theory has to do with tradition. Every christmas my dad hides a pickle, a pepper, and a pea pod ornament. My two sisters and I then all go searching for one of these three things. Whoever finds the pickle gets first pick, pepper gets second, pea pod third. The thing with winning in this sense is that you may get first place, but that doesn t necessarily mean you get first prize. Often times when you win something you end up with a hollow victory, or a feeling that even though you won, you some how lost. Although that is a much deeper subject in the same realm of my own, it still kind of describes the feeling when you realized to lost. Big time. The things I have learned simply from a pickle amaze me. I have changed the way I act in everyday life and I have changed the way I react in situations. For example. If I were playing a game of monopoly, I wouldn t worry about rolling the biggest number first. This is because getting the first move in the game has no advantage to how the out come of the game will turn out. That person may lose first, win first, or they may end up stuck in jail for most on the game. Instead, I would pay attention to what is going on ahead of me. My choices will decide my fate in the game, and all you can do is pay attention to what is happening and do whatever you think is best.
