Essay about Ethics in Nursing Research
Ethics of Nursing Research Conducting quality research requires the researcher to perform within
both ethical and legal guidelines. Ethics is the study of right and wrong (Houser, J., 2012, pg.50).
Ethics provide the avenue for decision making and are guided by the researcher s integrity. Legal
guidelines provide direction to the researcher by specifying what is required by law to conduct
research. As a nurse researcher, it is an ethical duty to advocate for patients when incompetent,
unethical or illegal practices are observed. There are three basic principles to consider when
evaluating the ethicsof a study: 1) respect for persons, 2) beneficence, and 3) justice (Houser, J.,
2012, pg. 54 56). To apply these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
57). This exchange of information should be administered at a 5th grade comprehension level. The
subject should be willing to participate in the study with no reward offered for participation. The
informed consent process begins with participant selection and ends with a signed document of
agreement. In the case study regarding Mr. and Mrs. G, there were many questionable areas of
concern regarding ethical practices and obtainment of an informed consent. As the nurse researcher,
the duty to advocate for the patient is of primary concern. The first concern recognized through this
case study is that of vague description of the study. As the nurse researcher, I would need to be
made aware of the data collection process and the parameters upon which the research is based.
Obtainment of data to be used in research must maintain patient confidentiality. Did the researchers
use patient medical records, family member interviews, patient interviews or staff involvement in
patient selection? Were there any HIPPA violations in the selection process? Were the subjects
informed that they were being screened for participation? I would also need to assess the
preliminary review of literature that is driving this particular study. What is the appropriate time to
conduct a study such as this? Is the purpose of this study going to facilitate a change in patient
outcomes? Awareness of the motivation for this study and the benefit that is expected to the future

Christmas Carol Selfishness And Society
As Thomas Henry Huxley once said If individuality has no play, society does not advance, if
individuality breaks out of bounds, society perces. This quote relates from the book directly to
reality. Individually people make a difference in society whether it s good or bad. In The
Christmas Carol Scrooge s individual impact in the story is bad. In the novel The ChristmasCarol by
Charles Dickens, the character traits Selfishness, Greed, and Joyfulness have the greatest impact on
society in the novel.
First, selfishness impacted society when Scrooge turned down the generous men raising charity
for the poor who can t buy meat and water. Scrooge said to the gentleman If I could work my will,
every idiot who goes about with this Merry Christmas

Use Of Mandalas And Its Effect On The World
Mandalas are most commonly referred to as a T ibetan symbol. Christian mandalas can be seen
in rotundas and of course in the architecture of churches. They are directed to the east which is
the place of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In Christian there are circular patterns where the
tradition can be found in rosette windows, on the domes decorating various houses of God and in
the circular labyrinths on the floors of the cathedrals. Mandalas also originated in Slavic culture.
We as a society don t know much about Czech people who are closest to the Slavic culture, because
there aren t a lot of records on them. Slavic people love ornaments, jewelry, ritual instruments and
other circular objects.
Many sacred places and temples were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, mandalas are a representation of a particular deity or even a grouping of them, which could
range from a few to thousands. In those cases, mandalas are formed with the main deity placed in
the center of it, while other deities are placed around the edges of the mandala. The main deity is
treated at the generative force of the mandala while the secondary deities are seen as manifestations
of the power of the center core image.
There are different practices where the symbol of the deity is in the core of the mandala. It
continuously moves from the outside into the middle. Once one is in the center, the practitioner
connects with the central symbol and the person, he or she, is able to perceive all manifestations as
a part of a single underlying whole. They are then closer to understanding and reaching the stage of
enlightenment.
In essence the mandala contains geometric and organic forms. Also, they can have a special
meaning behind the person making the mandala. Mandalas represent the connection between our
inner worlds and outer reality. When creating your own mandala, it can be both inspirational and
therapeutic. There are specific methods when designing a mandala, such as you design from the
inside out, but you don t need a lot of tools when creating one; sometimes just a paper and pen. I
chose to work with food dyed rice on wood to create a few.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy ( Rebt )
Abstract
A literature review on rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT). A discussion of the REBT
founder Albert Ellis and the concepts that influenced the formation of REBT. Also, an in depth
description of the concepts and theories behind REBT as well as examples of the types of
therapies that are commonly used in REBT. Next, an explanation of some of the changes that have
occurred during the history of REBT and a call for some future developments. Finally, some
criticisms of REBT are debated.
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy: Past, Present, and Future Rational emotive behavior therapy
(REBT) was first developed by Albert Ellis in 1955 (Dryden, David, Ellis, 2009). Albert Ellis was
influenced by the teachings of many different stoic philosophers, including Epictetus, which taught
that humans are not disturbed by the actual things that happen to them but by their perception of
those things (Dryden et al., 2009). Hence, Ellis termed this therapy rational psychotherapy in order
to emphasize the cognitive aspect of his therapy and to differentiate it from other psychoanalytic
therapies (Dryden et al., 2009). However, he had to change the name of his therapy to rational
emotive therapy in 1961 due to critics accusations of the therapy ignoring clients emotions, and
then again in 1993 to rational emotive behavior therapy in order to emphasize the behavior aspect
of therapy (Dryden et al., 2009). Another influence to Ellis was Alfred Alder; Alder s belief that an

The Passion of Artemisia by Susan Vreeland
Review of The Passion of Artemisia by Susan Vreeland Both Artemisia s father and Agostino
Tassi, her father s friend, had spent quite a bit of time teaching her the art of painting. When she
was 18, Agostino Tassi, raped Artemisia Gentileschi of Rome during a lesson. When the rapist is
tried by a court of the Inquisition, it s more as if Artemisia is the criminal than Agostino who gets
off free (thanks partly to Artemisia s father, his own interest in having his painting returned,
trumping his daughter s dignity) while Artemisia, after torture and public humiliation, is left only
with a destroyed reputation. With father s help, however, a husband is found; Artemisia marries
Pietro Stiattesi, an artist, and moves to Florence, where her quotidian responsibilities do little to
quench her visceral need for painting. She s happy to be in the art center of the world and soon
gives birth to a daughter. Through perseverance and passion she comes to the attention of powerful
art patrons. She makes history by becoming the first woman elected to the Accademia dell Arte,
but makes waves with her husband as; predictably, he is envious of her growing fame as an artist.
Pietro reverts to his womanizing ways and their relationship is barely held together by their
daughter. Artemisia and her daughter, Palmira leave Pietro behind for a new patron to Genoa, but
not before meeting Buonaretti the Younger, being introduced to the Medici court, and growing into
a friendship with Galileo.

The book Mrs.Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children intrigued me in ways other books fail to

What more could you ask for in a book. The book is most definitely for those dark fantasy book
lovers, moreover it helps if you happen to know/like the author; Ransom Riggs. The book
surrounds a boy named Jacob conversely the plot follows him throughout the book as him trying
to find answers after what occurred to his grandfather. My most definite favorite part in the book
is when Jacob is when Jacob flips off the policeman that was interviewing him around the very
beginning of the book. My least favorite part was when the mom showed how she truly felt about

Examples Of The Greatest Entertainment
America s Greatest Entertainment
America today is a world completely driven by entertainment. Our lives are surrounded by it each
and every day. Entertainment could be anything from TV, movies, music, social media and the
internet to skydiving, mini golfing and paintball. Since there is so many different forms of
entertainment, and the want for it is so demanding, competitors are always trying to find a way to
one up one another. One classic form of entertainment that seems to be bringing people back to
play, is laser tag. Many different entertainment places offer laser tag but two seem to outshine the
rest, Laser Quest and Main Event. Laser Quest has a futuristic arena that is unmatched. They are in

Laser quest gives you the ability to select you very own codename. This codename could be
anything from your real name to your favorite superhero. This codename is tied to whichever pack
you select and adds to the fun and entertainment of laser tag. At Main Event, all of the names are
preselected and assigned limiting your imagination and creativity. After a quick gameof laser tag at
Main Event you are left with a leaderboard of all the scores of the last mission, you get to see
how you ranked amongst opponents which can either be quite satisfying or, depending on how
you did, disappointing. At Laser Quest, you are offered that same opportunity, but not only that,
everyone receives a personalized scorecard that lets them know how they did. This scorecard
shows everyone that you tagged, everyone that tagged you, where exactly you tagged or were
tagged, and how many lasers you fired. Laser Quest has the best equipment around and blows
Main Event out of the water. Laser Quest creates a sense of competitiveness while maintaining a
safe environment. Laser Quest has its own rewards program. You register your account with your

Business Description of Ben Jerrys
Executive Summary Ben and Jerrys is a successful ice cream company with many strengths and
weaknesses. The company faces serious competition, financial struggles, economic and social
influences, all of which are covered in my paper. I also discussed some recommendations I have

have had many ups and downs throughout the history of the company, but overall, they have

Due to the fact that imitations for the product are being developed more rapidly, Ben Jerry have
changed their primary marketing goal to establish products that cannot be imitated, but the
technological developments of the company have not allowed them to launch the products
within a decent time limit. B J s mission statement includes the need for a wide variety of
innovative flavors. Five years to find the perfect coffee bean seems unnecessary. Coffee ice
cream, in this period, may have become undesired by the customer. This scenario is
compounded by, the quick replication by competitors, and the high costs related to
manufacturing each different flavor. As a result, it is key to stop producing brands not received
well, as well as introducing new flavors quickly. Flavor of the month may be a way of bringing
consumers to them on a regular basis. Research will be key in identifying the market in any
region or country B J wishes to operate, especially into consumers needs and wants. The way
choices are made needs to be understood and the positioning of B J needs to accommodate this.
The decision is based, amongst others, by the mood of the potential consumer at the time of
decision. Ben Jerry seem to be proud of the success rate of their relaxed, casual culture and having
employees involved in the decision making. However this policy needs to be reviewed as decisions
are taking

The Quakerism Movement
Quakerism began as a loose movement of radical dissenters in the mid 17th Century. They were
undoubtedly a revolutionary and unsettling movement when they first started. They rejected
scripture, the sacraments, hierarchy and the Church of England. Many Acts were passed to ensure
that they were ostracised from society and making their worship illegal and punishable with fines
and imprisonment. Early on in their development they were a nebulous and individualistic
movement but several high profile schisms within the movement led to an effort to regain control
of Quakerism through various measures; yearly epistles full of advice for Friends and the adoption
of a loose hierarchy in the form of Elders, Clerks and Overseers. This attempt to gain control of the
movement gained pace in the eighteenth century despite a concerted movement towards the laws
against Quakers and other nonconformists being repealed and relaxed. Some historians argue that
by the 18th Century, when Wild Oats was written, the Quakers had become almost sect like: By mid
eighteenth century, the term sect could rightly be applied to the Society of Friends [Quakers]. The
organisation showed many of the hallmarks: supervision of ministry, censorship, limitation of

Threepenny Opera As A Mirror To Society
To me, one of the most important aspects of theatre is to be a mirror to society or to a person s
individual psychology. A play should be painting a picture of a pre existing reality, not just
making up a new one for entertainment purposes. The best plays are just this, either a complex
picture of society as it is or a character study that the audience is meant to take into their own
lives. Threepenny Opera does follow this guideline, though it is most decidedly not a character
study. The characters of Threepenny Opera are cruel and shallow, meant to prove a point rather
than serve as a vessel for empathy. Three Penny Opera is a show that focuses more on society, a
show that wants us to question it and ourselves. Three Penny Opera is an important show for
modern audiences to see because the issues that it brings up are still relevant. It is important
because of it s messages about our treatment of the poor, and the call to action that it makes on the
poor s behalf. The society presented in the Threepenny Operais one that is very divided by class. It
is an England that is separated by rich and poor where the richer and more influential receive
better treatment and luck than the beggars who have to spend their time attempting to engender
enough pity to eat and live. We spend most of the play observing these poor, but we do get
glimpses at some of the more privileged. Peachum is one of these described as more wealthy, as are
the police and the reverend. Throughout the

Scenario Between Arnold, Bertram, Charlie, And Patice
Scenario Explained
The scenario between Arnold, Bertram, Charlie and Doris is a classic issue of offer and
acceptance. These are two elements of a valid contract. The scenario also raises its potential of
being an invitation to treat as this is a stark contrast to that of an offer. That is, we must consider
whether the notice placed on the car constitutes a valid offer or if it was a mere invitation to treat. If
this notice does amount to a valid offer where Arnold outlines the terms and conditions (the price
at which he was willing to sell and his telephone number) by which he is willing to be legally
bound we must look at the possible issues that may arise and what possible steps Arnold can take to
deal with his situation.
Arnold appears to be the principal party who makes definite terms pertaining to the sale of his car,
from this we can conclude that the notice placed on his cars does in fact demonstrate a clear intent
to be legally bound. This is a unilateral offer where Arnold outlined the terms and condition to
which he is willing to be legally bound, he is inviting the public to ... Show more content on

Racial Divides in the Last of the Mohicans

Racial Divides in The Last of the Mohicans Throughout James Fennimore Cooper s novel The Last
of the Mohicans a common theme of interracial friendship and love and the difficulty it takes to
overcome such an obstacle, is shown strongly in the work. In the novel Cooper shows how the
America people of European decent treat those that are native, by showing how negatively they
treat the Native Americans. Chingachgook and Hawkeye have a friendship that is genuine and
deep, bypassing the normal relationship between that of a white man and a Mohican Indian.

Hawkeye and Chingachgook have a stark, stripped human relationship of two men, deeper then
the deeps of sex. (Burt 1). Cooper shows just how deep of a friendship these two men can have
looking past all of the racial boundaries that are in position from the surrounding society. Despite
the way interracial relations between the civilized and the savage were looked down upon Hawkeye
and Chingachgook s relationship continues without any such interference. Cooper makes the
relationship important especially in the times of need, during the battle scenes and while they
complete acts that make it clear that Hawkeye and his group are the protagonists of the story. This
is a strong and deep connection between the two men making a statement for the time period, in
which the story is set in. The constant reoccurrence of Hawkeye and Chingachgook s relationship
as friends in the Cooper s novel shows the power of this symbol. The two men constantly look out
for one another s well being, Chingachgook gives Hawkeye information and reassures him his ear
shall drink no lie. (Cooper 32) simply because they are friends. As the book continues the two men
and the bond that is between them is proven to be deeper then the expectation of the average
American community of the time. Through their dangerous journey they stumble upon much
conflict, yet instead of burdening their friendship, it only builds their relationship as friends.

Joining Cults
Former Members Perception of Cult Movement, is a study researched and done by Dr. Carmen

published online under the ICSA ( International Cultic Studies Association), a non profitable anti

impact on them when joining these cults.
Unfortunately, the hypothesis wasn t clearly mentioned in the research paper. However, it could be

The Cultural Values Of Multi-Culture And Cultural Diversity
There is a cultural value difference everywhere, it s unrealistic to believe how multicultural
differences affect society. We can observe multi culture spread around the world. The author tries
to show us how multi culture is managed to survive in a respectful way with diverse society.
People migrate to the various part of the world and managed to live humbly practicing their culture
and others. We can also perceive the valueand the effect of cultural belief. Multi culture can be
characterized as an act for different cultures. We can describe what multicultural means, it s value
and negative effect on a society. Multiculturalism can be expressed as sharing different ideas and
values among society. Having the diversity will help to learn new thing and help us how to
collaborate and be together while it last. The author supported his argument based interviewing the
victims, he was involved and had contact with the victims. It s hard to see what different cultures
value most. Everybody needs to respect their own culture. Multi culture allows us to learn different
things and also helps us to live in a different society. Most immigrant people live by collaborating
both culture.
A valuable aspect of multi culture can be defined in many ways, the bond, the respect for family
and keeping the culture strong and thriving. Parents are the concrete for us to learn about

Female Serial Killer Essay
During the late 18 centuries, society became more aware of serial murders. At first, the term of
serial murder was only referred to men with specific causes and motives that influenced them to
commit such heinous crimes. The main motive to commit homicide was based on sexual fantasies.
However, years later, women did fall into this category of serial murders but defying the main
motive that characterized men serial killers. The misconceptions that that female serial killers do
not exits and that woman s nature does not let the to engaged in such bestial acts have been
discarded. Based on information gathered from research studies, the Protection of Children from

widow, divorced, or single woman is exempt of being a serial murder. Women from ordinary
occupations such as midwife and employed all to educational and professional workers had

infants. Based on research, women with higher education such as college are most likely to
engage on serial murders because they are in constant interaction with defenses people.
According to Schurman Kauflin (2000), states their studied that nearly 1/3 of FSKs were nurse

female serial killers because their lack of physical strength motivates women to demand silent but
dangerous power over them. White and Lester (2012) noted, women are four times more likely
than man to drug their victims, as it may be easier for them to subdue their targets in this way
(Harrison, et al (2015). Those women are known as the angels of death because they used gentle
and discrete means of murder such as lethal injections to carry out their execution. Although,
females motives incline more towards children and disabled adults, the age average on their adult

Education Inequality In Thailand
Although gender and education inequality may be both gradually increasing while shifting up and
down throughout the years, the adult literacy rate in Thailand has only been increasing since 2000.
In 2015, only about four percent of Thailand s citizens aged fifteen and over were illiterate. This
ends up positively contributing to a wide variety of social improvements, such as lower infant
mortality rates and higher educationlevels for future generations. This is because a parent who
went to school and learned to reads is more likely to do the same with their child, regardless of
gender. The same goes for length of education as well the more education they received, the more
education they will likely expect their child to experience.
As Thailand s globalization has increased very little over the years, another major developmental
indicator has also done the same. The World Bank shows Thailand s average citizen lifespan from
birth experiences a four year increase from 2000 to 2014, from 70 years to seventy four years.
Another improving factor for Thai citizens is the increasing health standards even after the 2014
military coup. Thailand has ranked higher than the surrounding countries for births attended by a
skilled staff member since 2000 and beyond. This is a major indicator of Thai development, not
only for health but also for women s rights. From the year 2000 to 2012, Thailand s percentage
ranged from 97.3% and 99.6% of births. In comparison, Laos highest percentage

Dog Is Man s Best Friend
Dog is Man s Best Friend The image that I chose was a photograph taken by a woman named
Elena Shunilova. The photo was taken of her child and their family dog. To me, this image is
beautiful. In the center, there is a young boy kneeling down next to a very large dog. It appears to
be just transition to winter from autumn. The ground is still brown but snow is faintly falling
around the boy and dog. The young boy is wearing a navy blue snow outfit with tan fur accents
around the hood and in a ball on top of his hat. His eyes are closed as he is embracing the large
dog sitting next to him. It seems to be cold out based on his rosy red cheeks against his very pale
skin. The dog stands tall and appears to be older than the boy by the matting in the cream
colored fur on his chest. He is black around the jowls as well as his eyes and ears. If the boy were
to stand tall next to him, he would barely be taller. The dog s eyes are also closed and his front
legs are in a wide stance. The bottom and top of the image are slightly blurred, and very dull in
color. It appears to be a very cloudy day. The image itself as well as the setting is enough to raise
curiosity in the story behind this photograph. There are some aspects of this image that really
stood out to me. Typically, when you introduce children to large dogs, or really any animals, they
are terrified and do not want to be around them. I can only imagine walking up to an animal that
stands taller than you; I would be

Daniel Patrick Moynihan Definition Of Deviant Behavior
labeling someone as a deviant can have any major consequences for the individual who is
labeled. some of those consequences are once a person who has been labeled may start to
incorporate the stigma that goes along with it. this effort happens and can happen when a friend
in high school is drinking underage and by being associated with that person can have yourself
labeled as deviant even if you never commit a deviant act. other problems that come when
labeled is being put into a certain category which people will treat you different, look at you
different, and also think that you are going to commit other deviant acts which means they can
not trust you, and you tend to lose respect in society. Daniel Patrick Moynihan defined deviance
as a decline in quilty of life and of formerly unacceptable activities that are unqualified acceptance
and the as we condone such acts we make our nation worse. Moynihan is relevant to the concept of
moral order as being homeless is considered a deviant act and does not help to bind the larger

Ethical Issues In Supersize Me
Introduction Super Size Me is a documentary film that focuses on the effects of fast food,
McDonald s in particular, to the human body in terms of physiological and psychological
aspects. The film is directed, produced, and starred by Morgan Spurlock whom investigated and
experimented on himself by eating McDonald s every meal, every day, for 30 days. Spurlock,
who in the beginning was a particularly healthy middle aged man, began experiencing weight
gain, addiction, depression, mood swings, sexual dysfunction, liver damage, and other health
related issues. During the 30 day period, Spurlock must: 1. eat three McDonald s meals a day; 2.
sample/eat every item on the McDonald s menu at least once; 3. not purchase anything, not found
on the menu; 4. super size his meal whenever the opportunity is presented. Also, as much as
possible, he must try not to walk exceedingly past 2,500 steps per day, which is the average step
per day for an American at that time. This extreme diet was overlooked by three doctors/specialists:

Core Competencies Of Virgin Atlantic
In July 2017, news headlines hit the airwaves and the internet regarding Sir Richard Branson giving
up control of the 33 years old airline, Virgin Atlantic (Bkaskara, 2017). Apparently, the air carrier
industry has experienced increased competitiveness. Low cost rivals are putting pressure on
traditional transatlantic carriers, which has made Virgin Atlantic, once a trailblazing carrier, to
struggle. In 2012, Delta Air Linescame to the rescue of the carrier in a joint venture, taking up 49
percent of the company (Stothard, 2017). Even so, in the July 2017 alliance, Branson, according to
Stothard (2017) gave up his control as a part of a wide ranging disturbance of the airlinecarrier
industry that will see Delta Air Lines, Air France KLM, and China Eastern intensify their alliances.
The aim of the airline is to embrace the human spirit and let it fly (Virgin Atlantic, 2016). Its main
focus has been on services such as safety and security, for its 5.4 million customers flown in 2016
(Virgin Atlantic, 2016). To enhance its efficiency, Virgin Atlantic has implemented various strategic
management practices to achieve competitive advantage and growth.

The ccomponents of executive compensation include: * Salary: Annual base salary earned during
the fiscal year. * Bonus: Annual non equity incentives earned during the fiscal year, plus
discretionary bonuses. * Other: Includes long term, non equity incentive payouts, the value
realized from vesting of restricted stock and performance shares. Also includes other executive
personal benefits, such as premiums for supplemental life insurance, annual medical examinations,
tax preparation and financial counseling fees, club memberships, security services and the use of
corporate aircraft. * Stock gains: Value realized during the fiscal year by exercising vested
options granted in previous years. The gain is the difference between the stock price on the date of
exercise and the exercise price of the option. (Forbes)
Stock options are another main concern and are based upon the performance of a company. A lot
of companies are in a low return and low compensation which then caused bad business and it s
about 400 times that amount. I believe the government is trying to tighten down on excessive
executive compensation with implementing salary caps. Executives are unrealistic with common
life and way of living therefore; they do not take any consideration with the underdogs of the
company or the world. The economy does have hope but it s a long way from being stabilized once
again.

Richly elusive and endlessly enigmatic, intriguing to scholars in several disciplines and inspiring to

The fundamental issues of human nature and morals continues to be examined and explored by
scholars as many attempted to find a compromise between the individuals and the collective.
Ancient testaments such as the Bible, Koran and Torah were attempts to set a standard for human
behavior and morality that is optimized for the well being of the individual and the strength of the
collective. Utopia serves to prove the pinnacle of human achievement possible by a community that
practice the art of self sacrifice and unselfish care of its citizens.
I remain optimistic to the thought of Utopia as the following text attempts to clarify the true Utopia
as a contrast to 14th century Europe, failed Communist Russia and China and the illusion of United
States of America as an Utopia.

explored throughout all these texts. The stripping of privacy and freedom demonstrates this control

This demonstrates Winston s anxiety and fear of being observed by the thought police. The
government creates an environment where its citizens understand that the slightest demonstration
of rebellion which could be as small as a nervous tic or an unconscious look of anxiety that could

admiration of Big Brother leads citizens into a state of constant panic of watching what they do.
The government uses this to control their people however they decide as a result of nobody being

allows the government the ability to enforce absolute control among its citizens. Handicaps are

The Role Of Loyalty In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
It is in the human condition to distinguish ourselves from those around us, to attempt to rise above
the turbulent sea of people that encompasses the Earth. Thousands of years ago, this meant being
stronger, faster, or smarter than the competition. Today, these attributes are still taken into account,
but a few more have been added to the spectrum. Fame, wealth, and power are all viewed today to
be distinguishing characteristics, so, naturally, humans have adapted to seek glory. However,
mankind s desperation for glory often results in the overstepping of boundaries, whether scientific,
moral, or societal, ultimately leading to the downfall of the seeker. Mary Shelley demonstrates this
concept in her Gothic novel Frankenstein. She utilizes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Victor, Walton, and the Creature s quests were unsuccessful due to their overstepping of scientific,
social, and moral bounds. In Victor s case, his downfall was the result of his haste to create a
sentient being for the glory that would result. This problem exists not only in Frankenstein, but in
the modern world as well. Today, with the world s newly advanced technology, innovators around
the globe are inquiring as to how to shatter the limits of science by creating a new series sentient
life. While the altering of DNA to create genetically modified humans is possible, albeit extremely
expensive, the process is highly scrutinized as to whether it is morally valid and within the realm of
what scientists are allowed to tinker with. Those against human modification say that, like
Frankenstein and his creature, the possibility for the process to go south is too great and shouldn
t be risked. Those in favor of the alteration respond with promises of bettering society through a
new, disease resistant, genetically superior species. They say that the creation of these
superhumans would result in a higher standard of living, and, of course, glory. Cautioned to us by
Mary Shelley almost 200 years ago and still true today, overstepping bounds in the pursuit of glory
is a dangerous act and will result in failure. After all, seeds of promise, if nurtured

A Comparison of Schools in the U.S. and Japan
In Japanese schools, from elementary schools to universities, teachers direct what students should
do or how they should be. Students follow the school rules and the directions of teachers. In
American schools, on the other hand, students have to be more independent than Japanese students
in many ways. Because of differences between Japanese and American schools, Japanese students
who begin to study in an American school are shocked, and they take a pretty long time to adjust

We kept writing for one hour almost without asking any questions.
Although classes are quiet, it does not mean that all students are concentrating on the lectures.
Because classes are so quiet and boring, some students are doing or thinking of something else,
or taking a nap. When I was a high school student, I often fell asleep, especially on warm spring
days. The teacher s powerless lecture became my lullaby, and I fell asleep easily as if I had been
hypnotized.
On the contrary, students in the U.S. have to listen to teachers very carefully because teachers tend
to ask questions during classes, and students must answer these questions. This way of teaching is
quite unfamiliar to Japanese students, and lots of them have trouble in the classroom. For example,
for the first few months I studied in an American school, I was tense because my teachers asked me
questions very often. I used to turn my eyes away from teachers eyes immediately after they asked
something of students. Furthermore, students have to take notes by themselves because teachers
seldom write on the blackboard. Japanese students in an American school learn that they have to
study or read the textbooks well to take notes and to answer questions given by teachers.
Second, Japanese students are shocked by the different relationship between teachers and students
in American schools. The relationship between teachers and students in the U.S. is

Examples Of Leadership In Animal Farm By George Orwell
An Inept Leader: Calamity for a Nation and its People The state of a nation primarily reflects the
strength and aptness of its leader; a weak leader submits their nation into an abysmal state, whereas
a great one promotes progress. In Orwell s novella, Animal Farm, the animals of inferior
intelligence comply with their vehement leader, Napoleon, who initially demonstrates strong
qualities as a leader. However, Napoleon s leadershipsuccumbs to corruption as he gradually
implements unprincipled authoritarian rules that primarily benefit the pigs at the expense of the
working class. Similarly, past leaders have displayed abuse of power for personal gain. Through
his accurate incorporation of Czar Nicholas II s traits into Napoleon s disposition, Orwell
articulates how negligent leadership jeopardizes a nation and its citizens, such as Turkmenistan
under Saparmurad Niyazov s reign. Czar Nicholas II crippled Russia by misusing his power in
authority: he disregarded the harsh working conditions and poor health of his citizens and sought

Reflection On The Cradle Catholic
With over half of the students in Xavier University s undergraduate program identifying as

surprised to hear how into the Catholic faith my partner was and how much it has influenced

has been Catholic because his parents were Catholic and wanted to pass their faith down to him.
As a Roman Catholic you are expected to attend Mass every Sunday and every holy day of
obligation. For just one hour a week we go to listen to the word of God, pray to God, and receive
the Eucharist, but only if you have had your First Communion. Not only did Max attend Mass
every Sunday, he was an active part of it because he was an altar server. Basically, an altar server

God and realize that the Eucharist truly is more than just a piece of bread and wine but that it

Saudi Arabia considers itself to be the Protector of Islam as they contain Mecca and Medina as

The Shia minorities in Saudi Arabia are seeking equal rights and representation within their
governments. In Saudi Arabia the oppressive tactics against the Shia takes the form of exclusion
from jobs, lack of Shia places of worship, and a ban on their holy days like Ashura. In some cases
the Wahhabi Sunni harass Shias making the pilgrimage to Mecca, which is a required act for all
able Muslims (Jaffar 2013). The Saudi Senior Ulema Council, the country s religious council, has
no Shia representation. This council passes laws that uphold only Sunni authority exacerbating
the sense of discrimination Shia feel. The schools teach both Shia and Sunni but the information
about the Shia is derogatory and in some cases they are labeled as rawafidh, or rejectionist,
which is a very insulting term to Muslims (Wehrey 2013). The Saudi monarchy has used anti Shia
tactics as a way to keep its Sunni clerics happy as well as shift blame for unpopular actions. These
terms and tactics are tied to lingering suspicions dating back to the Iranian Revolution of 1979.

Equal Employment Opportunity And Hrm
Introduction As a means to better understand equal employment opportunity and HRM, one can
examine the reasonable accommodations employers must make in regards to religion and disability.
In regards to such, some of the accommodations can be described, the agency responsible for such
enforcement can be examined, and two specific private sector workplace examples of religious and
disability accommodation can be noted. Through the examination of these concepts one can gain a
better understanding of equal employment opportunity and HRM. Accommodation Expectations
When taking into consideration the employment of those with disabilities or that are religious, one
ought to understand that there are several provisions established by the federal government that
stipulates the accommodations necessary to meet their specific needs. In regards to those with
disabilities there are several accommodations that employers must meet to remain within
compliance of the law. According to the EEOC, These include: making existing facilities accessible;
job restructuring; part time or modified work schedules; acquiring or modifying equipment;
changing tests, training materials, or policies; providing qualified readers or interpreters; and
reassignment to a vacant position (para. 2). Through incorporating these concepts into company
policy, an organization will fail to fall out of compliance. In terms of religious accommodation, an
employer is obliged to take into consideration the accommodation

embellish the scene or to a attract or gratificate the gaze. However, this figure appears often in
the spot of products more or less related to seduction, like the underware. A commercial of the
brand Intimissimi, for example, consists of only close ups and extreme close ups of the model
Irina Shaykhlislamova, wearing panties and bra, staging the feminine touch well depicted by
Goffman. This is also that type of woman found in many commercials with female endorsers
chosen more for their beauty than for skills or knowledge. In the sample analyzed is common, for
example, the presence of models or actresses like Eva Longoria, Rachel Weisz, Laetitia

Essay about The Urinary System
The Urinary System is a group of organs in the body concerned with filtering out excess fluid and
other substances from the bloodstream. The substances are filtered out from the body in the form
of urine. Urine is a liquid produced by the kidneys, collected in the bladder and excreted through
the urethra. Urine is used to extract excess minerals or vitamins as well as blood corpuscles from
the body. The Urinary organs include the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. The Urinary system
works with the other systems of the body to help maintain homeostasis. The kidneys are the main
organs of homeostasis because they maintain the acid base balance and the water salt balance of the
blood.
One of the major functions of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Internal urethral sphincter is involuntary. The ureters enter the bladder diagonally from its
dorsolateral floor in an area called the trigone. The trigone is a triangular shaped area on the
postero inferior wall of the bladder. The urethra exits at the lowest point of the triangle of the
trigone. The urine in the bladder also helps regulate body temperature. If the bladder becomes
completely void of fluid, it causes the patient to chill.
The urethra is a muscular tube that connects the bladder with the outside of the body. The function
of the urethra is to remove urine from the body. It measures about 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) in a woman
but up to 8 inches (20 cm) in a man. In the human female, the urethra is about 1 2 inches long and
opens in the vulva between the clitoris and the vaginal opening. In the human male, the urethra is
about 8 inches long and opens at the end of the head of the penis. Men have a longer urethra than
women. This means that women tend to be more susceptible to infections of the bladder (cystitis)
and the urinary tract.
The functional unit of the kidney is the nephron. It contains a glomerular (Bowman s) capsule, a
cup shaped structure that surrounds a glomerulus (group of capillaries). Together, the glomerular
capsule and glomerulus form a unit called the renal corpuscle. Attached to the Bowman s capsule is
a long, twisting renal tubule that has four parts: the proximal convoluted tubule, the loop of Henle,

Buddhism Rhetorical Analysis
Ethic is well elucidated in the sutta. Concerning desire, hatred, and delusion, the Buddha asks the
KДЃlДЃmas, When adopted and carried out, do they convert into loss and suffering, or not? How
does it appear to you? To which the KДЃlДЃmas answer, When adopt, sir, and carried out, they
convert into loss and suffering. That is how it appears to us. Regarding, freedom from wanting,
aversion, and ignorance, the Buddha inquires of the KДЃlДЃmas, When adopted and carried out,
do they converted into profit and bliss, or not? How does it appear to you? The KДЃlДЃmas reply:
When adopted, sir, and carried out, they convert into profit and bliss. That is how it appears to us.
Thus, the Buddha concludes, ...yaб№ѓ taб№ѓ vuttaб№ѓ idametaб№ѓ paб№icca vuttaб№ѓ ... Show

These consist of four solaces. One is a better rebirth (in place or heaven) after the dissolution of
the body. Two, have a happiness live here and now. Three, evil does not come to you because you
do not have any evil intentions. The last, one is purified from all evils. Having listened to the
Blessed One discourse on the four assurances, the KДЃlДЃmas established in his teaching and took
refuge in the Triple Gems the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.
In Evans words, The Buddha, gives [the KДЃlДЃmas] a sample of his own teachings and guides
them through a discourse such that they agree that following these teachings would lead to the
achievement of material and spiritual goals. By satisfied with the Buddha s answer and explanation,
the KДЃlДЃmas commit themselves to him, so that, although he did not say so directly, the implied
answer to their question would appear to have been, This teacher! . Thus, faith is

The Religious Symbolism and Architecture of Angkor Wat and...
Introduction
Built by the Khmers between 802 and 1220 AD, the ancient temples of Angkor Wat exist as the
remaining relics of a historically and religiously rich city. While many other historical and religious
structures in Cambodia have disappeared due in part from being constructed out of vulnerable
materials like wood, Angkor Watstill remains as a symbol of the divinity of its former kings, as
well as for the palace itself. Likewise, Indonesia s Borodubur temples exist as the single remaining
structures of the city. The temples of AngkorWat and Borodubur hold several similarities within
architecture and symbolism, both being heavily based on religious belief. However, different
features within both structures, architecturally and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Decorative elements through out the towers and galleries present their own characteristics and
fulfill specific needs within the temple. The towers are formed into the shape of the ever popular
lotus buds, and the galleries are used to expand the many passageways of the temple. Also, the
axial galleries within the temple are used to connect several enclosures. Characteristic decorative
components of Angkor Wat include narrative and historical bas reliefs, pediments, and devatas.
The bas reliefs located in the gallery of Angkor Wat holds a special signification for Angkor Wat.
The gallery displays heaven and the underworld in which garudas and lions are holding the
celestial palaces. These gerudas indicate that the palaces were floating in heaven, comparing
Angkor Wat to the palaces of the Gods. This display furthers the idea that Angkor Wat acts as a
liason between the world of Heaven and Earth. Because the palace physically remains on earth but
spiritually resides within heaven, the palace acts as communal place for believers to gather.
The bas reliefs and pictures did not only serve to decorate the palaces, or depict stories of the past.
They hold the important task of transforming the palace into a celestial dwelling or heavenly place.
Further evidence to support this notion is

The Deforestation Of The Amazons Deforestation
The Amazons Deforestation Have your eyes ever set on a barren land where even technology can t
reverse the damage we have caused? We care mostly for the present, but we must never forget to
see to the future and in this case the deforestation of the Amazons. Deforestation is considered the
second largest anthropogenic source of carbon dioxideto the atmosphere (Song et al. 2). Each day
we are wiping out miles of trees from one of our most diverse ecosystems in the planet, and one of
our largest lungs in the world. At our rate of destruction of the rainforest, we would have inflicted in
our future a great disservice, as the trees cut down would no longer give us clean air and more
CO2 would pollute our air. CO2 can have a negative impact on our health. As we breathe in this
air, it can lead to lung cancer and other diseases. By destroying the Amazon ecosystem we could
drive many exclusive species that only live in the Amazon to extinction. Will we know the harm we
have caused right away? Probably not, but we will definitely find out sooner rather than later. The
cause of the Amazon deforestationis due to our need for wood to stay warm, and for developing
countries to use it for fuel. Our top priority in conserving the Amazons is the unforeseen
environmental impact that can be caused to our planet and to us. Tropical deforestation also has
other negative externalities, such as the loss of biodiversity, erosion, floods, and lowered water
levels (Jusys). Every day we

Persuasive Speech About Singlish
II. Introduction
George Carlin, a Grammy winning American stand up comedian, actor, author, and philosopher,
once said, Meow means woof in cat. This means, any language, has a purpose and an impact on the
people or things around us. With the rise of many new and different languages like Esperanto and
Singlish, many people have mixed opinions about these languages. In the portfolio, I will be
tacking the whole issue on Singlish, whether it should be allowed or not, since it is related to our
society and because of the rising use of Singlish in this generation.
I was inspired to write and research on this topic as my school had an English week where we were
taught more about English and the languages around us. One of them was Singlish. ... Show more

It is represented in the Acronym
Educating the public
When using Singlish in school, I recommend that students and teachers exercise control while using
Singlish. They need to know when is the right time and the right place to use Singlish. Also, they
cannot speak Singlish all the time. They need to know the difference between acceptable/ standard
English and Singlish. Just like how they know the difference between Chinese and English. When
greeting someone, for instance, one must use Standard English or it will seen rude and such habits
are negative in the working world when they grow up.
When we live in a multicultural nation, a colloquial language like Singlish is unavoidable. We can
only teach what should be used. I recommend that talks and activities should be carried out drawing
the line between Singlish and Standard English. I do recognize that these programmes would not
ban Singlish, but banning Singlish is not wanted but in fact only needed to be known. Once again,
we only need everyone to know the time to use Singlish.
2. Perspective of these

  • 2. Essay about Ethics in Nursing Research Ethics of Nursing Research Conducting quality research requires the researcher to perform within both ethical and legal guidelines. Ethics is the study of right and wrong (Houser, J., 2012, pg.50). Ethics provide the avenue for decision making and are guided by the researcher s integrity. Legal guidelines provide direction to the researcher by specifying what is required by law to conduct research. As a nurse researcher, it is an ethical duty to advocate for patients when incompetent, unethical or illegal practices are observed. There are three basic principles to consider when evaluating the ethicsof a study: 1) respect for persons, 2) beneficence, and 3) justice (Houser, J., 2012, pg. 54 56). To apply these... The informed consent process begins with participant selection and ends with a signed document of agreement. In the case study regarding Mr. and Mrs. G, there were many questionable areas of concern regarding ethical practices and obtainment of an informed consent. As the nurse researcher, the duty to advocate for the patient is of primary concern. The first concern recognized through this case study is that of vague description of the study. As the nurse researcher, I would need to be made aware of the data collection process and the parameters upon which the research is based. Obtainment of data to be used in research must maintain patient confidentiality. Did the researchers use patient medical records, family member interviews, patient interviews or staff involvement in patient selection? Were there any HIPPA violations in the selection process? Were the subjects informed that they were being screened for participation? I would also need to assess the preliminary review of literature that is driving this particular study. What is the appropriate time to conduct a study such as this? Is the purpose of this study going to facilitate a change in patient outcomes? This quote relates from the book directly to reality. Individually people make a difference in society whether it s good or bad. In The Christmas Carol Scrooge s individual impact in the story is bad. In the novel The ChristmasCarol by Charles Dickens, the character traits Selfishness, Greed, and Joyfulness have the greatest impact on society in the novel. Christian mandalas can be seen in rotundas and of course in the architecture of churches. They are directed to the east which is the place of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In Christian there are circular patterns where the tradition can be found in rosette windows, on the domes decorating various houses of God and in the circular labyrinths on the floors of the cathedrals. Mandalas also originated in Slavic culture. We as a society don t know much about Czech people who are closest to the Slavic culture, because there aren t a lot of records on them. In those cases, mandalas are formed with the main deity placed in the center of it, while other deities are placed around the edges of the mandala. The main deity is treated at the generative force of the mandala while the secondary deities are seen as manifestations of the power of the center core image. There are different practices where the symbol of the deity is in the core of the mandala. It continuously moves from the outside into the middle. Once one is in the center, the practitioner connects with the central symbol and the person, he or she, is able to perceive all manifestations as a part of a single underlying whole. They are then closer to understanding and reaching the stage of enlightenment. In essence the mandala contains geometric and organic forms. Also, they can have a special meaning behind the person making the mandala. Mandalas represent the connection between our inner worlds and outer reality. When creating your own mandala, it can be both inspirational and therapeutic. A discussion of the REBT founder Albert Ellis and the concepts that influenced the formation of REBT. Also, an in depth description of the concepts and theories behind REBT as well as examples of the types of therapies that are commonly used in REBT. Next, an explanation of some of the changes that have occurred during the history of REBT and a call for some future developments. Finally, some criticisms of REBT are debated. Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy: Past, Present, and Future Rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) was first developed by Albert Ellis in 1955 (Dryden, David, Ellis, 2009). Albert Ellis was influenced by the teachings of many different stoic philosophers, including Epictetus, which taught that humans are not disturbed by the actual things that happen to them but by their perception of those things (Dryden et al., 2009). Hence, Ellis termed this therapy rational psychotherapy in order to emphasize the cognitive aspect of his therapy and to differentiate it from other psychoanalytic therapies (Dryden et al., 2009). However, he had to change the name of his therapy to rational emotive therapy in 1961 due to critics accusations of the therapy ignoring clients emotions, and then again in 1993 to rational emotive behavior therapy in order to emphasize the behavior aspect of therapy (Dryden et al., 2009). • 7. The Passion of Artemisia by Susan Vreeland Review of The Passion of Artemisia by Susan Vreeland Both Artemisia s father and Agostino Tassi, her father s friend, had spent quite a bit of time teaching her the art of painting. When she was 18, Agostino Tassi, raped Artemisia Gentileschi of Rome during a lesson. When the rapist is tried by a court of the Inquisition, it s more as if Artemisia is the criminal than Agostino who gets off free (thanks partly to Artemisia s father, his own interest in having his painting returned, trumping his daughter s dignity) while Artemisia, after torture and public humiliation, is left only with a destroyed reputation. With father s help, however, a husband is found; Artemisia marries Pietro Stiattesi, an artist, and moves to Florence, where her quotidian responsibilities do little to quench her visceral need for painting. She s happy to be in the art center of the world and soon gives birth to a daughter. Through perseverance and passion she comes to the attention of powerful art patrons. She makes history by becoming the first woman elected to the Accademia dell Arte, but makes waves with her husband as; predictably, he is envious of her growing fame as an artist. Pietro reverts to his womanizing ways and their relationship is barely held together by their daughter. Artemisia and her daughter, Palmira leave Pietro behind for a new patron to Genoa, but not before meeting Buonaretti the Younger, being introduced to the Medici court, and growing into a friendship with Galileo. ... Coffee ice cream, in this period, may have become undesired by the customer. This scenario is compounded by, the quick replication by competitors, and the high costs related to manufacturing each different flavor. They were undoubtedly a revolutionary and unsettling movement when they first started. They rejected scripture, the sacraments, hierarchy and the Church of England. Many Acts were passed to ensure that they were ostracised from society and making their worship illegal and punishable with fines and imprisonment. Early on in their development they were a nebulous and individualistic movement but several high profile schisms within the movement led to an effort to regain control of Quakerism through various measures; yearly epistles full of advice for Friends and the adoption of a loose hierarchy in the form of Elders, Clerks and Overseers. This attempt to gain control of the movement gained pace in the eighteenth century despite a concerted movement towards the laws against Quakers and other nonconformists being repealed and relaxed. Some historians argue that by the 18th Century, when Wild Oats was written, the Quakers had become almost sect like: By mid eighteenth century, the term sect could rightly be applied to the Society of Friends [Quakers]. • 13. Threepenny Opera As A Mirror To Society To me, one of the most important aspects of theatre is to be a mirror to society or to a person s individual psychology. A play should be painting a picture of a pre existing reality, not just making up a new one for entertainment purposes. The best plays are just this, either a complex picture of society as it is or a character study that the audience is meant to take into their own lives. Threepenny Opera does follow this guideline, though it is most decidedly not a character study. The characters of Threepenny Opera are cruel and shallow, meant to prove a point rather than serve as a vessel for empathy. Three Penny Opera is a show that focuses more on society, a show that wants us to question it and ourselves. Three Penny Opera is an important show for modern audiences to see because the issues that it brings up are still relevant. It is important because of it s messages about our treatment of the poor, and the call to action that it makes on the poor s behalf. The society presented in the Threepenny Operais one that is very divided by class. It is an England that is separated by rich and poor where the richer and more influential receive better treatment and luck than the beggars who have to spend their time attempting to engender enough pity to eat and live. We spend most of the play observing these poor, but we do get glimpses at some of the more privileged. Peachum is one of these described as more wealthy, as are the police and the reverend. • 14. Scenario Between Arnold, Bertram, Charlie, And Patice Scenario Explained The scenario between Arnold, Bertram, Charlie and Doris is a classic issue of offer and acceptance. These are two elements of a valid contract. The scenario also raises its potential of being an invitation to treat as this is a stark contrast to that of an offer. That is, we must consider whether the notice placed on the car constitutes a valid offer or if it was a mere invitation to treat. If this notice does amount to a valid offer where Arnold outlines the terms and conditions (the price at which he was willing to sell and his telephone number) by which he is willing to be legally bound we must look at the possible issues that may arise and what possible steps Arnold can take to deal with his situation. Arnold appears to be the principal party who makes definite terms pertaining to the sale of his car, from this we can conclude that the notice placed on his cars does in fact demonstrate a clear intent to be legally bound. • 22. Education Inequality In Thailand Although gender and education inequality may be both gradually increasing while shifting up and down throughout the years, the adult literacy rate in Thailand has only been increasing since 2000. In 2015, only about four percent of Thailand s citizens aged fifteen and over were illiterate. This ends up positively contributing to a wide variety of social improvements, such as lower infant mortality rates and higher educationlevels for future generations. This is because a parent who went to school and learned to reads is more likely to do the same with their child, regardless of gender. The same goes for length of education as well the more education they received, the more education they will likely expect their child to experience. As Thailand s globalization has increased very little over the years, another major developmental indicator has also done the same. The World Bank shows Thailand s average citizen lifespan from birth experiences a four year increase from 2000 to 2014, from 70 years to seventy four years. Another improving factor for Thai citizens is the increasing health standards even after the 2014 military coup. Thailand has ranked higher than the surrounding countries for births attended by a skilled staff member since 2000 and beyond. This is a major indicator of Thai development, not only for health but also for women s rights. From the year 2000 to 2012, Thailand s percentage ranged from 97.3% and 99.6% of births. • 23. Dog Is Man s Best Friend Dog is Man s Best Friend The image that I chose was a photograph taken by a woman named Elena Shunilova. The photo was taken of her child and their family dog. To me, this image is beautiful. In the center, there is a young boy kneeling down next to a very large dog. It appears to be just transition to winter from autumn. The ground is still brown but snow is faintly falling around the boy and dog. The young boy is wearing a navy blue snow outfit with tan fur accents around the hood and in a ball on top of his hat. His eyes are closed as he is embracing the large dog sitting next to him. It seems to be cold out based on his rosy red cheeks against his very pale skin. The dog stands tall and appears to be older than the boy by the matting in the cream colored fur on his chest. He is black around the jowls as well as his eyes and ears. If the boy were to stand tall next to him, he would barely be taller. The dog s eyes are also closed and his front legs are in a wide stance. The bottom and top of the image are slightly blurred, and very dull in color. It appears to be a very cloudy day. The image itself as well as the setting is enough to raise curiosity in the story behind this photograph. There are some aspects of this image that really stood out to me. Typically, when you introduce children to large dogs, or really any animals, they are terrified and do not want to be around them. This means that women tend to be more susceptible to infections of the bladder (cystitis) and the urinary tract. The functional unit of the kidney is the nephron. It contains a glomerular (Bowman s) capsule, a cup shaped structure that surrounds a glomerulus (group of capillaries). Together, the glomerular capsule and glomerulus form a unit called the renal corpuscle. Attached to the Bowman s capsule is a long, twisting renal tubule that has four parts: the proximal convoluted tubule, the loop of Henle, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To which the KДЃlДЃmas answer, When adopt, sir, and carried out, they convert into loss and suffering. That is how it appears to us. Regarding, freedom from wanting, aversion, and ignorance, the Buddha inquires of the KДЃlДЃmas, When adopted and carried out, do they converted into profit and bliss, or not? One is a better rebirth (in place or heaven) after the dissolution of the body. Two, have a happiness live here and now. Three, evil does not come to you because you do not have any evil intentions. The last, one is purified from all evils. Having listened to the Blessed One discourse on the four assurances, the KДЃlДЃmas established in his teaching and took refuge in the Triple Gems the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. In Evans words, The Buddha, gives [the KДЃlДЃmas] a sample of his own teachings and guides them through a discourse such that they agree that following these teachings would lead to the achievement of material and spiritual goals. By satisfied with the Buddha s answer and explanation, the KДЃlДЃmas commit themselves to him, so that, although he did not say so directly, the implied answer to their question would appear to have been, This teacher! . • 43. The Religious Symbolism and Architecture of Angkor Wat and... Introduction Built by the Khmers between 802 and 1220 AD, the ancient temples of Angkor Wat exist as the remaining relics of a historically and religiously rich city. While many other historical and religious structures in Cambodia have disappeared due in part from being constructed out of vulnerable materials like wood, Angkor Watstill remains as a symbol of the divinity of its former kings, as well as for the palace itself. Likewise, Indonesia s Borodubur temples exist as the single remaining structures of the city. The temples of AngkorWat and Borodubur hold several similarities within architecture and symbolism, both being heavily based on religious belief. However, different features within both structures, architecturally and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Decorative elements through out the towers and galleries present their own characteristics and fulfill specific needs within the temple. The towers are formed into the shape of the ever popular lotus buds, and the galleries are used to expand the many passageways of the temple. Also, the axial galleries within the temple are used to connect several enclosures. Characteristic decorative components of Angkor Wat include narrative and historical bas reliefs, pediments, and devatas. The bas reliefs located in the gallery of Angkor Wat holds a special signification for Angkor Wat. The gallery displays heaven and the underworld in which garudas and lions are holding the celestial palaces. These gerudas indicate that the palaces were floating in heaven, comparing Angkor Wat to the palaces of the Gods. This display furthers the idea that Angkor Wat acts as a liason between the world of Heaven and Earth. Because the palace physically remains on earth but spiritually resides within heaven, the palace acts as communal place for believers to gather. The bas reliefs and pictures did not only serve to decorate the palaces, or depict stories of the past. They hold the important task of transforming the palace into a celestial dwelling or heavenly place. Further evidence to support this notion is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. The Deforestation Of The Amazons Deforestation The Amazons Deforestation Have your eyes ever set on a barren land where even technology can t reverse the damage we have caused? We care mostly for the present, but we must never forget to see to the future and in this case the deforestation of the Amazons. Deforestation is considered the second largest anthropogenic source of carbon dioxideto the atmosphere (Song et al. 2). Each day we are wiping out miles of trees from one of our most diverse ecosystems in the planet, and one of our largest lungs in the world. At our rate of destruction of the rainforest, we would have inflicted in our future a great disservice, as the trees cut down would no longer give us clean air and more CO2 would pollute our air. CO2 can have a negative impact on our health. As we breathe in this air, it can lead to lung cancer and other diseases. By destroying the Amazon ecosystem we could drive many exclusive species that only live in the Amazon to extinction. Will we know the harm we have caused right away? Probably not, but we will definitely find out sooner rather than later. The cause of the Amazon deforestationis due to our need for wood to stay warm, and for developing countries to use it for fuel. Our top priority in conserving the Amazons is the unforeseen environmental impact that can be caused to our planet and to us. Tropical deforestation also has other negative externalities, such as the loss of biodiversity, erosion, floods, and lowered water levels (Jusys). Every day we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Persuasive Speech About Singlish II. Introduction George Carlin, a Grammy winning American stand up comedian, actor, author, and philosopher, once said, Meow means woof in cat. This means, any language, has a purpose and an impact on the people or things around us. With the rise of many new and different languages like Esperanto and Singlish, many people have mixed opinions about these languages. In the portfolio, I will be tacking the whole issue on Singlish, whether it should be allowed or not, since it is related to our society and because of the rising use of Singlish in this generation. I was inspired to write and research on this topic as my school had an English week where we were taught more about English and the languages around us. One of them was Singlish. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is represented in the Acronym Educating the public When using Singlish in school, I recommend that students and teachers exercise control while using Singlish. They need to know when is the right time and the right place to use Singlish. Also, they cannot speak Singlish all the time. They need to know the difference between acceptable/ standard English and Singlish. Just like how they know the difference between Chinese and English. When greeting someone, for instance, one must use Standard English or it will seen rude and such habits are negative in the working world when they grow up. When we live in a multicultural nation, a colloquial language like Singlish is unavoidable. We can only teach what should be used. I recommend that talks and activities should be carried out drawing the line between Singlish and Standard English. I do recognize that these programmes would not ban Singlish, but banning Singlish is not wanted but in fact only needed to be known. Once again, we only need everyone to know the time to use Singlish. 2. Perspective of these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
