Geometry And Geometry
My first article author was ( Tara Mastroeni). This article is basically about how the buildings are
all shapes and different sizes, and yet so similar at their core. For those wondering this occurs over
and over again in nature. It s is found in everything from the shape of the universe. The structure of
clouds, and the proportions of human body. Humans have incorporated it into everything from the
mathematics to artwork and music. That you or any person can make anything as long as you
know mathematics basically you can do anything. Some people say that why do you need
mathematics to build a housewell that is the biggest part in build a home or buildinganything you
need to build. Why I say that building is the most biggest part is because say you wantto measure

Almost everything we build has to do something with geometry or mathematics if you know it or
not we use geometry in everyday life. The word geometry means, to measure the earth.
Geometry is the branch of math that is concerned with studying area, distance, volume, and other
properties of shapes and lines. Now that you know how much geometry is used in building and
decorating homes you yourself can build your own home with the help of me you will know
what to do. Just make yourself a plan and just do it. One more thing, in decorating these homes
you will need a lot of supplies, the basics you will need will be things like new things you will
want to be in your house that will make you feel comfortable. If you are building your own
house make sure that you like it and you feel comfortable in it because if you don t then you
might not stay there or like living their. This can go for just buying a house from someone and
redecorating it the way you like. Most people use a measuring tape to measure the blinds of the
house, so they can go to the store and pick the right size and the kind they want to put up in their

Mass Hysteria
This paper is about the diverse ways mass hysteria is classified in our society today, and the
possible theories behind what really caused the events in Salem to occur. Janca and Simons portray
their opinions towards different events of mass hysteria, and are able to develop their own
professional theories relating to the mentality of the individuals that were caught under the
influence of hysteria. Those individuals minds are examined, and their information is represented
in this paper. The cited articles explain distinct facts that were used to interpret the direct cause of
mass hysteria, and others include counteracting opinions and facts towards those specific topics.

The Salem witch trials were caused by a group of girls who wanted to get moral vengeance on
others for the unproven morals they have disregarded. The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, has
portrayed the ideology behind mass hysteria excellently, and common traits are located throughout
all of the events of mass hysteria mentioned in this paper. Our society has not changed compared to
the societies during the Salem witch trials. Individuals are still comparing themselves to one
another. It takes a single popular party to completely change a person s actions and opinions
towards a topic. As to why mass hysteria should be interpreted as a popular trend, rather than an

The Buddha, The Dharma, And The Sangha
Starting out in the Indian subcontinent, Buddhism grew to be a dominant religion that spread
throughout Asia. Buddhism is rooted in the three elements known as the Three Jewels : the
Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. Through these elements, followers practice meditation and
self control in order to reach the state of enlightenment, or nirvana. The religion was pioneered by
The Buddha, whose last reincarnation was named Siddhartha in Nepal around 600 B.C.E. He was a
human who transcended to a state of enlightenment, understanding and practicing the three
elements of Buddhism. Unlike the main figure in many other world religions, Buddha did not deem
himself God or a prophet, but just a regular man who learned the teachings of nonviolence, inner
peace, and balance. Siddhartha was born as a prince and lived a lavish life growing up. However he
eventually realized that his life would not be fulfilled by material belongings, and abdicated his
position. Siddhartha went on to study meditation and yoga, eventually reaching enlightenment. The
pervasiveness and inevitability of suffering in human life was a main topic contemplated by
Buddha throughout his life. The sources of suffering are key in the path to enlightenment, and
Buddha realized this in his quest to enlightenment as well. These topics, among other core teachings
of Buddhism, are substantiated and outlined by the experiences of the last Buddha.
One of the most core topics explored by Buddhism, the pervasiveness and

The Murder Of The Manson Family By Timothy Dwight
A murderer is normally defined by the psychological attributes that define him or her. These
killers often suffer from a psychotic delusion that forces them to commit their horrific crimes.
However, those who are pronounced sane and rational have a moral conviction that drives them
to kill. It is this principle that separates the average murder from the psychotic sadists that
believes in what he or she does. Charles Manson, leader of the Manson Family, believed in the
apocalyptic war of Helter Skelter, the uprising of blacks and the mass genocide of whites
(Whitehead). Manson s firm conviction about Helter Skelter separates him from other criminals
who commit their crimes out of insanity. In Travels in New England and New York, author

Due to his hormonal deficiency, Leopold became socially reclusive, often not talking to anyone.
His counterpart, Loeb, was handsome and societal person. However, he possessed a demonical
side, the love for the life of crime. Although the Beadle and Loeb and Leopold lived in different
eras, the attributes that define the murderers are still the same. Whereas Loeb and Leopold focus
on a philosophical conundrum, Beadle is faced with a moral conundrum. However, these characters
share a common dilemma, such as social repression, that emulates the personality of a murderer. It
is these ideals and motivations that exemplify the motivation and belief system that drive a person
to kill. As such, these stories are commendable examples that embody the true crime genre. The
aftermath of the Revolutionary War brought freedom to the colonies, but also caused a brief
economic collapse. Beadle, accustomed to a luxurious lifestyle, would rather face death than be
considered part of the lower class. Dwight acknowledges Beadle s pride as the source of
condemnation. Dwight states, When he [Beadle] saw his circumstances reduced so as to threaten
him with a necessary and humiliating change...pride prompted him...in a sullen hostility against
God and man... (49). The demotion into a different class status frightened Beadle, thus igniting his
sense of pride. Beadle felt that he could not lose the life that he was

Persuasive Speech On Animals In Zoo
Albert Einstein once said: Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of
compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty. Ladies and
gentlemen, Today, I stand before you to address the growing issue of animals being imprisoned.
Put yourself in the shoes of the animal; can you imagine being locked up in a cage, eating,
sleeping and excreting in the same place every day? Well, animals in zoos are forced to!
Can we really say that animals in zoos, enjoy being taken away from their parents and natural
habitats? The answer to that question is No! . Did you know that tigers and lions have nearly
eighteen thousand times less space in a zoo than they do in their natural habitat and polar bears ...
Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In zoos, animals have no possible ways to defend themselves or escape from dangerous
situations. In many cases, animals in zoos have been poisoned, starved or even burned in fires!
A recent example on May 28, 2016 was where an animal was killed in the Cincinnati zoo was the
shooting of the gorilla Harambe . In this incident, an irresponsible parent was not looking after
her child and the child climbed into the enclosure. The gorilla was then shot in order to save the
child. Another major incident dates back to the Hurricane Katrina. Here, the employees were
forced to leave as the power failed which led to over 10,000 aquatic animals being killed.
Animals should be given the freedom they deserve. They should not be held captive in zoos and
we can help stop this insanity. If people stop buying tickets to look at imprisoned animals, zoos
will be forced to stop imprisoning and breeding wild animals. There are many better ways of
studying an animal, such as looking up about it online, or even watching an animal documentary
which shows the animal in its natural habitat, with its natural behavior. The animals need to be
happy to live the life they were put on earth

Cheating Is Wrong
Why do we give awards? Think about it; every country, government, education system, athletic
program, and job field in the world has some sort of system in place for awarding exceptional
people. Whether you are in elementary school or a world renowned scientist you have received
some sort of award (or position) as a tribute to the things you have excelled in. The humanrace has a
fascination with exceptional things. We hold creativity, intelligence, bravery, uniqueness, and
exceptionalism in the highest esteem. We respectpeople who have gone above and beyond all else
to do something incredible. We love to tell survivor stories depicting the triumph of the human soul

The math genius who takes Adderall would not naturally have the same focusing ability that they
would without the medication. Considering that they are giving themselves an outside advantage,
would it be fair if they were given a prize over other people with the same intelligence that are
competing without the advantage? No. How can you even compare two competitors, when you don
t know if the first could beat the second without the advantage? From an educational view point
when you cheat, you are taking away your potential for true intellectual growth. A teacher by the
name of Jessica Lahey wrote an article in the Atlantic Daily that attempted to dive into the
pedagogical reasons behind students cheating. Later on Lahey wrote a reflective post online at
www.theatlantic.com about the previous article in which she comes to understand that not only
pedigogical fallacies lead to cheating but that fact that many students view cheating as okay. In
this reflection she describes an email response from a student who personally cheated and was
quite proud of it. What strikes me is Jessica s on the email from the student, Most journalists are
thrilled when evidence comes to light that supports their argument. I, however, was devastated. It s
one thing to read the statistics on cheating, but it was quite another to be faced a real life example

Trademark Infringement Essay
Trademark infringement is a growing concern to businesses that has caused disruptions in both
local and international trade. Infringement is the violation of intellectual property rights in which
violators take organizations/individuals ideas (trademark) and market them as their own. Another
form of intellectual propertyis copyrightthat protects people s creating expressions. In the case of
infringement and copyrights, the accuser can file a claim against the alleged group/individual for
using their trademarkor ideas. If they are convicted then they ll be required to pay reimbursements
for damages caused or losses incurred, prohibit further infringement actions, and recall all products
that were produced, but there is a loop hole in this... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The issues concerning infringement and copyright isn t just a problem here in the U.S., but
international as well. The only difference being that it is harder to enforce these rules and
regulations and to resolve these issues when each country has their own. Although there are
standards that are enforced by most industrialized nations there are no fully international property
rights and countries don t always interpret and enforce intellectual property right with the same
standards. This problem could be addressed by setting international rules and regulations that could
be used to address more of specific issues then the basics that are covered in the Trade Related
Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). Also,

Theme Of DГ©sirГ©e s Baby
The dark undertones of miscegenation, racism, misogyny, references to death, and allusions to
heartbreak and betrayal highlight the tragic story of DГ©sirГ©e s Baby, by Kate Chopin. In short,
DГ©sirГ©e s Baby takes place in Louisiana, sometime during the 19th century, where a couple on a
plantation is torn apart over the fact that their infant child is part African American. Throughout
DГ©sirГ©e s Baby, Kate Chopin uses symbolism to illustrate themes of miscegenation, gender
roles, misogyny, death, and self hate.
First, Miscegenation is a strong theme in this story, as it is the main reason why the relationship
between DГ©sirГ©e and Armand fell apart. Particularly in Louisiana during the 19th century, not
only was miscegenation strongly looked down ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is an underlying theme of betrayal, and that DГ©sirГ©e, who apparently has some African
lineage, had done Armand wrong by loving him. Although she appeared Caucasian and had fair
skin and eyes, more so than Armand, and was even able to fool Armand to the point where the
realization came about when the baby appeared black, she still was disowned by him. The
introduction of the story describing how Armand and DГ©sirГ©e first met makes this
separation even bitterer. Armand fell in love with DГ©sirГ©e at first sight, or as described in
the story as if struck by a pistol shot (551). Armand acts as though he is a victim of circumstance
and that the love of his life was tainted because of her racial background, and had the baby
appeared white, they would have carried on with their lives in ignorance of their pasts. Racism is
present in the relationship as well, and Armand strongly believes that someone who is colored is
not good enough for him. Another obvious example from the story is the exploitation and neglect
of the black slaves that Armand owned, which would likely live at the plantation until death, for
manumission was relatively rare in the United States (Cole 1010) at the

Operational Code Of Culture Essay
Culture is an operational code shared by members of a particular society, a system of shared
beliefs, values, customs, behaviors, and artifacts that members of society use to cope with their
world and with one another. Members of a society share their culture; there is no culture of one , it
is learned through a process called enculturation, and changeable through social interactions
between people and groups. Culture is patterned, meaning that people in a society live and think in
ways forming definite, repeating patterns. The Arab Republic of Egyptis located within the Sahara

his remarkable 56 touchdowns in the last five season is the best and leads all the receivers

Anti-Aging Benefits Of The Mediterranean Diet
Anti Aging Benefits of Mediterranean Diet
September 15, 2016
Jonathan Swift said, Everybody wants to live forever, but nobody wants to grow old.
Wouldn t it be nice? If we could stay healthy and young, living as long as possible would be great.
Because that is a deep down desire of the majority, many people are always on a quest to slow
down the aging process.
So, our question for today is: What are the Anti Aging Benefits of the Mediterranean Diet?
First, we must acknowledge that no diet in the world can halt or slow the aging process. Aging is
inevitable and food is not the elixir of life although the type of food you choose can lengthen or
shorten your life.
What has been proven by numerous studies is that the Mediterranean diet ... Show more content on

People eat whatever is the most convenient with little regard for their health. This is very upsetting
and dangerous for the population as a whole.
There is a wide assumption that healthy food is not delicious. They believe that they must live on
a steady diet of raw carrots and steamed chicken breasts and decide that is not for them. They
would much rather have a fast food burger and cheese fries instead it s easier and tastier.
What they don t know is that the Mediterranean Diet is filled with DELICIOUS AND HEALTHY
food, which is why people in the Mediterranean Region are often healthier and live longer lives than
Americans.
The foundation of the Med Diet is fresh vegetables. In the US, vegetables are typically an
afterthought, with unhealthy choices like fried potatoes being classified as vegetables.
When you make vegetables the center of your meals, you will get your daily dose of antioxidants
to fight the free radicals in your body; plus give your body necessary nutrients and keep your skin
healthy and supple.
Fruit is another important part of the Med diet. They are filled with nutrients and rich in fiber,
which slows down digestion so you do not get hungry as quickly. The fruit also prevents sugar

The Importance Of My High School Band
I play the French horn in my high school band. Our band is small only 25 30 members but we
are a family. Each class I see the determination on each person s face to do well because there s
the constant pressure of letting the rest of the band down. Because we are so small, each person
has to play to the absolute best of their abilities; each individual person needs to be a strong
player in order for our band to sound good. I ve played in larger bands on several occasions and I
was shocked to see that some kids would just... not play. Our band cannot afford that leniency.
Our size in itself is a challenge. However, I have personal struggles within the band as well. There
have only been two French horn players in my band for the entirety of my high school career:
myself and the number one horn player in the state, Cross. My whole life I have played second to
an amazing musician but while I improved by playing with him, I also never received any
recognition for my personal achievements or was ever granted the primary leadership position.
I often struggle to comprehend how good of a player I am, especially because I have performance
anxiety which hinders me during auditions and most performances. I constantly compare myself to
this amazing player who auditions well, who is regularly being recognized for musical
achievements, and who can never quite understand the concept of humility. He never understood
my struggle, so I was left adrift in an overwhelming sea of ineptitude.

Reasons For Starbucks s Or Starbucks
Do you prefer Kaldi s or Starbucks? This choice is given to SIUE students every day. Our group
chose to conduct an experiment that proves that students prefer Starbucks to Kaldi s. To ensure
we got the best results, we created an eight question survey, which we used as factors in our
descriptive statistics and regression outputs. They included: how old are you, what school are
you in, what gender are you, do you prefer Starbucks or Kaldi s, do you enjoy a treat with your
drink, do you prefer a store or out in the open, how many drinks do you get in a week, and what
drives your choice. To make sure we surveyed enough people, each of us had to survey 30 students
which in total, equaled up to 121, with an extra from one of us handing out 31 surveys.
Methodology
To execute surveying 121 SIUE students, we broke the campus up into fourths, consisting of the
Morris University Center, the Engineering Building, Founders, and Peck Hall. We ran into a
problem halfway through handing out surveys when, as a group, we decided to take out the
question, How do you identify yourself? , because we felt it had no significance to our study. Once
we corrected our survey, we were able to input our data into Excel. When we first entered our data
into Excel, we had all of our questions going horizontal, with the different response options going
vertical. The total numbers of answers each question received was listed horizontally after the
question. On further investigation, our group found that

grinding poverty in Alabama, Owens became a star athlete in high school after his family moved
to Cleveland, Ohio. His achievements earned Owens several lucrative offers to attend college as a
track and field athlete, and he enrolled at Ohio State University in 1933. On May 25, 1935, Owens
made national headlines for setting five world records and tying another record at the Big Ten
Intercollegiate Championships in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Although many historians consider Owens

Athletic Success as a Teenager Owens enrolled in Cleveland s Fairmount Junior High School
around 1927 and quickly attracted the attention of a mentor who would prove crucial in his
future athletic success. Charles Riley worked at the school as a physical education teacher and
track and field coach and immediately realized that Owens was a naturally gifted athlete who
had not yet taken up serious training. Riley started a rigorous training program for Owens in
special morning sessions before school. Within a year, Owens was running the 100 yard dash in
eleven seconds and in 1928 he set two world records for his age group in the high jump, at six
feet, and the long jump, at twenty two feet, eleven and three quarters inches. Under Riley s
instruction to run as though the track were on fire, Owens also improved his times on the track.
Of the seventy nine races he entered in high school, Owens won seventy five of them. Owens
also formed a warm personal relationship off the track with Riley, who continued to coach him
after he entered East Technical High School in 1930. After Henry Owens suffered a traffic
accident in 1929 and experienced extended periods of unemployment in the Great Depression,
Riley s role as a surrogate father was especially important to the young athlete. Chronology 1913

Food Pantry Case Study
Michelle Woolley Sauter is the lead designer and owner of One Coast Design Corporation now

giving back to charities close to her heart. Through her efforts of philanthropy during her 28
years in the State of Florida, she worked in conjunction with local and regional non profit task
forces dealing directly with hunger and homelessness of displaced children throughout South
Florida and the islands of the Caribbean. Michelle launched a Food Pantry within the Safe House
and offices of Children s Home Society, the largest counseling facility and adoption agency in
the state of Florida. This was a pivotal and extremely influential move as now case workers
going out to make site visits were able to identify situations where the only issue for these
families was being under resourced. Because needs are usually delayed due to processing
constraints, many families could go without immediately needed resources such as food and baby
items for days. The setting up of an organized Pantry would be a stop gap measure and needed

The Effects that Affirmative Action Has Had on Past and...
The African American experience in the United States is one that could almost be described as
irreparable. The African American debut in this country was one that started off as foul as a
situation could be. The slavery experience ranks amongst some of the most inhumane eras in the
history of mankind. The settlers in the colonies viewed Africans as only 3/5ths of a man and used
Africans as tools, or pets, as opposed to acknowledging them as real thinking, loving, feeling
human beings. Amazingly so, African Americans were able to advance in this society to a plateau
in which we are now, by definition, accepted as equals. Racism still exists in many social
institutions and mindsets of our citizens, but opportunity now is vast, compared to... Show more

African Americans were struggling hard enough to get basic equal rights as is, but this was still
created to officially provide equality. On March 6, 1961, President John F. Kennedy issues
Executive Order 10925, which creates the Committee on Equal Employment Opportunity and
mandates that projects financed with federal funds take affirmative action to ensure that hiring and
employment practices are free of racial bias. Later, President Lyndon Johnson went on to sign the
Civil Rights Act, which prohibits discrimination of all kinds backed on race, color, religion, or
national origin. This was one of the most groundbreaking power moves in the civil rights struggle
to date. On June 4, 1965, in an eloquent speech to the graduating class at Howard University,
President Johnson frames the concept underlying affirmative action, asserting that civil rights laws
alone are not enough to remedy discrimination:
quot; You do not wipe away the scars of centuries by saying: now, you are free to go where you
want, do as you desire, and choose the leaders you please. You do not take a man who for years
has been hobbled by chains, liberate him, bring him to the starting line of a race, saying, you are
free to compete with all the others, and still justly believe you have been completely fair . . . This
is the next and more profound stage of the battle for civil rights. We seek not just freedom but
opportunity not just legal equity but human ability not just equality

The Impact Of Media On Technology On Our Lives Essay
Often, we take for granted the significance of media within our lives. Experimenting without
media usage for a day, I was amazed at the change in my thought and behavior. Personal
experiences and examples provide proof of new ideas and present theories, discussed and developed
within the essay. Presenting a balance to the subject, there is an analysis to both the positivity and
negativity behind abandoning media. Within the essay, the reader is able to attain a college point of
view, illustrating the role mass mediaplays while in class, working on homework, eating with
friends, or playing a sport. Ultimately, the essay enhances the importance of our dependency on
technology and our path to robotic communication.
A Response to Media Fasting Completing the media fast assignment was one of the most difficult,
frustrating, and engaging tasks that I have ever participated in. After two failed attempts of living
without my iphone for twenty four hours, I was forced to lock my phone up, physically detaching
myself from it. Although my failed attempts occurred because of unconsciously responding to a
text or checking the time, close observation of my habitual phone patterns proved to be truly
remarkable. Media, as a whole, occupies a huge part of our lives, keeping us connected and up to
date with the latest news, trends, and advertisements. Subtracting media out of my life for a day
actually made me feel unconnected from others, which I never would imagine to occur.

Short Story About The Movie The Blob Of Blue Ink
I stayed in my bed, still in tears, imagining all of the stuff I would have done if I could just stay
in California. I heard Mom talking about what she s going to do in Costa Rica, what kind of
research she s going to do, blah blah blah. Then I heard something about funding two plane
tickets. I looked up for a minute, then I just put my head back down cause I was too lazy to even
think about it. After about three minutes, I got up and grabbed the index card with the short
story I wrote. The blob of blue ink, I already knew what was behind it. Opportunity. Opportunity,
for me? Or for Mom? I decided to grab the suitcase. I hastily unlocked the straps, and opened it. All
I found were clothes and a camera. This was a waste of my time, I... Show more content on

Tuesday came around. On Sunday and Monday, I told all of my friends that I can t do anything
with them over the next two months because I was going to Costa Rica. They all had the same
reaction I had when I saw the plane tickets. Jaws dropped, eyes wide, and hands on their heads.
Even though we had an international airport in San Diego, we had to go to Los Angeles because
that s the densest in terms of the people that work with Mom. I dreaded long car rides. Mom said
that it would be about forty five minutes to get there, but as always, California traffic. I had
butterflies in my stomach when I heard about the flight, just not the car ride. So Izzy, what do
you want to do once we get there? Mom asked. Maybe we could go sightseeing or ziplining
through the woods! I exclaimed. Just from that alone, my face lit up even more and a big smile
was on my face. Soon after that though, I felt like a kid that was grounded. I think my
excitement had overridden my boredom because my eyes would close, then a bolt of energy, or
excitement, surged through my body, keeping me awake. The honks of the cars kept me awake
as well. I love California for the waves and the beaches, but the traffic and the busy streets are
what get me. After the long hour, we finally found a spot where we can park our rental. Then, we
checked in through security and boarded the plane. The service people were one of the nicest

Lastly, they have not published their study for peer review. Instead, the believers just rumored

An Investigation Of Understanding Energy Systems
Energy is required for all kinds of bodily processes including growth and development, repair, the
transport of various substances between cells and of course, muscle contraction. It is this last area
that Exercise Scientists are most interested in when they talk about energy systems.
Whether it s during a 26 mile marathon run or one explosive movement like a tennis serve, skeletal
muscle is powered by one and only one compound... adenosine triphosphate (ATP) (2). However,
the body stores only a small quantity of this energy currency within the cells and its enough to
power just a few seconds of all out exercise (5). So the body must replace or resynthesize ATP on
an ongoing basis. Understanding how it does this is the key to understanding energy systems.
An ATP molecule consists of adenosine and three (tri) inorganic phosphate groups. When a
molecule of ATP is combined with water (a process called hydrolysis), the last phosphate group
splits away and releases energy. The molecule of adenosine triphosphate now becomes adenosine
diphosphate or ADP (2).
Energy is measured in calories To replenish the limited stores of ATP, chemical reactions add a
phosphate group back to ADP to create ATP. This process is called phosphorylation. If this occurs
in the presence of oxygen it is labelled aerobic metabolism or oxidative phosphorylation. If it occurs
without oxygen it is labelled anaerobic metabolism (2).
Energy Sources to Replenish ATP

Horus is obviously another anthropomorphized figure. Horus life is a long list of myths that are
strongly connected with the sun s movement in the sky. Horus being known as the solar messiah
(Or light) had an enemy known as Set. Set was represented the symbolism of the dark (Or night).
Horus and Set would battle every day. Horus would defeat Set every morning while Set would
overthrow Horus in the evening sending him into the underworld. Dark vs. light (Good vs. evil)
has been one of the most used mythological duals ever known to man and is still used to this day
on many levels. Horus was born on December 25th of the virgin Isis (Mary). His birth was
accompanied by the star in the east, three kings followed to locate and adorn the newborn savior.
He was a teacher at the age of twelve, at the age of 30 he was baptized by the figure known as
Adup, beginning his ministry. He had 12 disciples he traveled with while performing miracles such
as healing the sick and walking on water. Horus was given many names such as the Truth, the Light,
God s Anointed Son, the Good Shepherd, and the Lamb Of God. After he was betrayed by
Typhon he was crucified on the cross for 3 days and then resurrected. Sound familiar? This story
spans onto many other infamous gods of many other different cultures such as Attis (Frigia,
Greece) 1200 B.C, Krishna (India) 900 B.C, Dionysus (Greece) 500 B.C, Mithra (Persia) 1200

most recent solar messiah today, the Truth, the Light, God s Anointed Son, the Good Shepherd,

The Between Austria Hungary And The German Empire
In addition to the treaty of London, numerous other treaties and alliances help explain the
outbreak of WWI. The Dual Alliance between Austria Hungary and the German Empire in 1879
ensured a promise of mutual defense if either side was attacked by Russia, and neutrality if
attacked by any other nation. Italy joined the Dual Alliance in 1882 forming the Triple Alliance or
central powers. Additionally, France formed an alliance with Russia in 1894 and an entente
cordiale, or friendship with Britain in 1904. Subsequently, Britain formed an entente with Russia
in 1907, effectively forming the Triple Entente. This relationship further exacerbated German
fears of encirclement and left if facing a war on two fronts if it attacked or was attacked by one of
the members of the Entente. The nations involved perceived these alliances as a form of protection
and a deterrent to war. However, as predicted by the spiral mode, it only further increased concerns
and decreased trust amongst the belligerents. Additionally, the alliances united the nations together
so that, if one country went to war, the others were obligated to honor the alliance and join their
partners in war (Tuchman). Consequently, the Austro Hungarian declaration of war and attack on
Serbia caused Russia to enter the war in support of its Slavic ally. This drove France to honor its
alliance with Russia and join in war against the Triple Alliance (which Italy subsequently abandoned

Abortion Legal Case
Since the proper to non public privacy includes the abortion call, however the proper isn t

The abortion laws in result within the majority of the States square measure of comparatively recent

Three reasons are advanced for the historical enactment of criminal abortion laws. the primary is
that the laws square measure the merchandise of a Victorian social concern to discourage illicit
sexual conduct, however this argument has been taken seriously by neither courts nor
commentators. The second reason is that the abortion procedure is risky, thus the State s concern is
to safeguard pregnant ladies. However, fashionable medical techniques have altered matters, with
abortions being comparatively safe notably within the trimester. The third reason is that the State s
interest is in protective the antenatal life. However, this can be somewhat negated by the actual fact
that the pregnant lady can not be prosecuted for the act of abortion.

Phaedra s Hippolytus
While a mother displays AgГЎpe care towards her children, sometimes the affection stems from an
act of selfishness of the mother rather than always putting the children before the mother s well
being. Queen Phaedra in Euripides Hippolytus displays AgГЎpe for her children by ensuring the
child s prosperous future as heirs to Theseusthrone. As a mother, Phaedra becomes helpless to
childbirth and its madness, linked to it forever (Euripides 163 164) and throughout the play
readily and eagerly accepts her role as a mother and never once removes her love for her children.
However, Phaedra s love not only exists towards her children but also towards Phaedra s stepson
Hippolytus. Phaedra s love for her stepson originates as a forced curse from the goddess
Aphrodite who wants to punish Hippolytus for not fulfilling his role as a responsible Greek citizen
and never praying to her. While AgГЎpe refers to the love one possesses for one s spouse and
children, Hippolytus relationship to Phaedra exists out of erotic passion and not motherly affection.
Phaedra s own children only appear when Phaedra begins to think about suicide as a result of her
unrequited love for Hippolytus.

The results (see exhibits A,B,C,D ) show that:

the exhibit 21 shows for the top two box a noticeable difference between the Contadina users and

for independence from England. In And Our Flag Was Still There, Barbara Kingsolver shares her
ideals about the countries state of being after the 9 11 attack. She believes America continues to
lose sight of true patriotism and unity among the people. The iconography of a flagembodies
patriotism, consisting of standing up and upholding a specific set of values for one s country.
Although the American flag exemplifies independence, the symbolism behind the American flag
misrepresents the vision of modern day America. The historical fight for freedom hinders future
peace within the American society. Kingsolver expresses her thoughts about the... Show more

Kingsolver explains that the Americans tearing through the country with firearms represent
America in a negative way. She shares a memory about a man misrepresenting America by
killing foreign Americans: Like the man in a city near us who went on a rampage crying I m an
American as he shot at foreign born neighbors, killing a gentle Sikh man in a turban and
terrifying every brown skinned person I know (Kingsolver, 2014, para. 7). Opposition in America
creates strife and violence because the red blooded Americans disregard foreigners as true
Americans. The melting pot of America consists of kicking out the people lacking in the American
ways. Kingsolver, in light of the aftermath of 9 11, expresses her thoughts on her beliefs and the
definition of patriotism. She believes the people of America represent the iconography and her
patriotism means all people banning together in one accord. She stresses, That is my flag, and that
s what it means: We re all just people together (Kingsolver, 2014, para. 14). When America
abandons the iconography of war, then they can recognize the importance of unity. A unified
country stands strong against opposing forces and acknowledges the importance of working

Max Power Case Study
One reason suggesting Chloe s guilt in Max Power s murder is her compelling motive for the
crime. First, Chloe had a financial motive for murdering Max Powers. According to the
Preliminary Report, Max inherited a net worth of 12.4 million and the suspects [Ray, Chloe, Dez
and Beverly] were all named equally in his will (Preliminary Report). As one of the four inheritors
of Max s will, Chloe would receive $3.1 million dollars in the event of the millionaire s death.
Although Chloe s financial situation is not disclosed in the case files, $3.1 million is a significant
amount of money to suddenly attain. Furthermore, there is some evidence to suggest that Chloe
was motivated by Max s wealth. In the Preliminary Report, it states that she probably... Show more

First, Chloe s alibi of being in the shower is inconsistent with Ray s testimony. According to
Chloe s testimony she went upstairs to take a shower in the bathroom at about 2:30 pm and
returned to the crime scene when Ray called out at 3 pm (Suspect Case File). The blueprint of
the house depicts that it contains one second floor bathroom. Furthermore, both Ray and Chloe
are supposedly in the bathroom at the same time, however this piece of information is highly
unlikely, suggesting inconsistency in Chloe s alibi. Another fault in Chloe s testimony is how
she was supposedly in the shower during the murder. This goes in tandem with the hairbrush
discovered at the crime scene. According to the Forensic Report, The DNA in the comb when
compared side by side with Chloe s DNA shows a perfect match (Forensic Report). The results
from the DNA Testing Lab demonstrate that Chloe s hair was in the brush found at the crime
scene. The fact that Chloe discloses she was in the shower at Max s party indicates she likely
used the hairbrush during the day at the millionaire s mansion. While a piece of hair on a comb
does not indicate murder, it can provide significant evidence to who was near the crime scene the
day of the dramatic murder. In conclusion, Chloe left behind the clues of a murder indicating the

Labor costs
Labor costs in the United States are much higher than in many parts of the world. Consequently, the
costs of production for labor intensive manufacturing can be significantly reduced by moving
factories overseas mainly to third world countries this is a common practice of Nike who outsource
there manufacturing to other companies in countries such as Thailand and Indonesia.[ ]
2. Cost of Shipping
The cost of shipping goods has dropped in recent years. Part of this reduction is the result of
improved efficiencies in shipping technologies. Also, tariffs on imports have dropped with the
North American Free Trade Agreement and other international efforts to promote free trade this will
make it easier for companies and corporations such as Nike to outsource the manufacture of their
goods. [4]
3. Free Trade as a Political Tool
Outsourcing manufacturing jobs overseas has the additional benefit of promoting capitalism and
free enterprise in many countries that have been run by communism and totalitarianism
governments. Many political scientists and economists believe that by increasing economic
interdependence with the United States, these foreign nations are more likely to develop into
robust democracies and more likely to establish a middle class of their own this fact can be used
by corporations such as Nike to justify outsourcing to these countries. [4]

A Discussion Of Campaign Finance Regulation
In his discussion of campaign finance regulation, Christiano argues that with cases of gatekeeper
mechanism and opinion formation mechanism, campaign expenditures should be regulated to
prevent drowning out of the opinions of nonaffluents. He proposes that certain regulations will
actually help protect and promote freedom of expression, and suggests to limit expenditures and
distribute vouchers during campaign periods. Using a prima facie equation, I will argue against the
claim that Christiano s restrictions interfere unduly with freedom of expression and defend his
proposal as a valid resolution to the problem of drowning out.
Christiano identifies two mechanisms by which expenditures influence a political system and
drowns out the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The most obvious criticism of Christiano s proposal is that regardless of a regulation s intent or
effect, regulation of campaign expenditures is an infringement on freedom of expression. Many
consider one s allocation of one s own resources to be a mode of expression, and the Supreme
Court has generally upheld this view in Buckley vs. Valeon and Citizens United vs. FEC. In this
sense, limiting campaign expenditure is specifically limiting those who are able and willing to
provide private expenditures from doing so. Such a limitation can been seen as a violation of
freedom of expression, and Christiano s proposal to limit certain expressions in order to promote
freedom of expression can seem absurd.
Christiano, however, argues that this temporary limitation is not an unduly interference because the
cost of campaign regulation on freedom of expression is surpassed by its benefits for freedom of
expression. He admits that the affluents will be restricted from fully wielding their economic
advantages, but he claims that this limitation will preserve and promote diversity of opinions
during the campaign period and also ensure long run development of discussions. Because
campaign regulations will prevent diversity of ideas from being diluted by drowning out, political
discussion will

Long Distance Rates And Revenue
As long distance rates and revenue declined, the debt and expenses piled up and put pressure on
WorldCom s ability to meet key performance indicators and earnings forecasts (J. Randel Kuhn
Sutton, 2006). The line cost was the biggest expense for WorldCom and half of its total expenses.
Management committed to achieve a low line cost to revenue ratio because lower ratio meant better
performance and higher ratio meant poorer performance. Managementfocused on lowering the line
cost level expense (J. Randel Kuhn Sutton, 2006). It carried out two improper accounting
methods to reduce the amount of line costs (Beresford, Katzenbach, C.B. Rogers, 2003). First, it
released the accruals, the amounts kept aside on WorldCom s financial statements to pay
expected bills which is also called cookie jar reserve from 1999 2000 (Beresford, Katzenbach,
C.B. Rogers, 2003). These accruals were supposed to reflect the estimate line costs and other
expenses that WorldCom had not yet paid (Beresford, Katzenbach, C.B. Rogers, 2003). Releasing
the accrual is appropriate when it turns out that less is needed to pay the bills than has been
expected to pay. Instead, WorldCom provided offset against reported line costs when the accrual
was released which reduced reported expenses and increased pre tax income (Beresford,
Katzenbach, C.B. Rogers, 2003).
When the accruals started to run out, WorldCom came up with another method, capitalization of
line costs. WorldCom started classifying

Personal Narrative-It s A Girl
The dozens of colorful cards, floral bouquets, and pink and blue teddy bears overflowing the
makeshift table made it look more like a well stocked gift shop than a hospital cart. Mylar
balloons, trimmed with ribbon ringlets announcing It s a boy! and It s a girl! obscured all but a
small corner of the picture window s mountain view. Through this corner I could see snow
glistening on Pikes Peak, even though it was summer, which looked like a vanilla Dairy Queen
cone topped with silver sprinkles. Orange and gold rays streamed in through the slatted wooden
blinds causing neon stripes ro illuminate my still voluminous belly as if I were wearing a
venetian blind bikini. My breasts were not so much mine as they were heavy balloons, a part of
the gratuitous package that were to provide valuable nourishment for the next twelve months. The
tiny pink sheer gown I had packed, expecting to fit back into would come home with me, unworn. I

Compare and contrast essay Of Mice and Men
The Story Of Mice and Men is about two buddies that go on to find work or any kind of income.
The only problem is that lennie, one of the main characters, has a mental disability. Thankfully
George, the other main character also lennie s best friend, is around to help lennie. In the story
more characters come into play including a nice old man named candy who has been working
on the farm for many years. Like George candy has to take care of his old dog that he raised
from a pup. Unfortunately one of Candy s so called buddies took the dog out and shot him for the
dogs own good. In the end George also loses his closest pal. Through the story George and candy
have some similarities and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now in the story there are many similarities between candy and George besides there need to get
away and deal with hard choices in life. But no matter what character there are always some
differences. One of the differences between the characters George and Candy is that candy likes
to think ahead and plan for his future while George on the other hand would rather make a dream
and fulfill it as soon as possible. A sample would be when George first proposed the plan that they
shall live on their own farm making their own money Candy thought George was crazy. But when
George showed that he was serious Candy joined right on board. Showing that It took some time
for Candy to agree because he thought about how it would affect his life when George just went on
the same road till his dream was fulfilled.
In the end there are some similarities and some differences just how it was meant to be. Nothing
will ever be the exact same no matter what you are comparing. Anything like comparing Coke to
Pepsi or flat screen and a tube TV nothing will ever be the exact same. In the end I guess that the
characters are more alike than different or the opposite depending on how you are viewing them.
Overall though Candy and George look like they will have a bright future together no matter on
how alike or how different they

The Trial Of The People V. O.j. Simpson
Often termed The Trial of the Century , the case of The People v. O.J. Simpson was one of the
most publicized in the world. Orenthal James Simpson was born in San Francisco on July 9,
1947. Whilst at USC, he had started college football, which would lead him to have a famous
career with the National Football League, which he retired from in 1979. During this time, Mr.
Simpson married his first wife, Marguerite L. Whitley, and had three children. Afterwards, O.J.
Simpson moved onto his acting and sport casting career, during which he divorced his wife ( O.J.
Simpson Biography 2016). Nicole Brown, born in West Germany in 1959, had grown up in
Southern California. Whilst working as a waitress in a posh club in Beverly Hills, she had met...

Near the victims themselves, there was a single intact leather glove as well as a black ski cap.
After more than an hour had passed since the police arrival at the scene, Detective Lang of the
homicide division arrived at 4:25 AM, to further investigate. Once there, the keys and pager of
Ron Goldman were found on the ground, as well as additional dog footprints (Trial of the
Century). The bloody footprints exiting the property were found to be a size 12, and are
depicted in Figure 1. It is important to note that there was a slight inconsistency of the footprints
further away from the bodies, as if the perpetrator looked back. Figure 1 The first thing Detective
Lang had started to analyze was the blood related evidence. By observing the heel to toe stride
analysis of the bloody footprints, it was determined that a person was indeed wearing those shoes,
and the prints were not planted. As aforementioned, the inconsistency of the footprints revealed
that the murderer actually stopped in his escape and looked back towards the bodies. A possible
reason for this was that the murderer might have been looking for something; such as the ski cap
or glove he lost (Brown). It has been reported that there were thick bushes and trees in the walkway
near the bodies. This may have made the criminal decide to not search for them, and

How Social Reformers Influenced Edward Bellamy, Henry...
How did social reformers such as Edward Bellamy, Henry George, and the Knights of Labor
conceive of liberty and freedom differently than the proponents of the liberty of contract and
laissez faire like Herbert Spencer and Andrew Carnegie? Which of these groups was successful in
imposing their vision on the larger society in the years before the turn of the century? Why?
Introduction
Liberty and freedom was conceived differently by the social reformers and the proponents of the
liberty of contract and laissez faire. The difference actually emanated in the manner in which the
two groups interpreted the suitability of the operation of the economy. While the economy can
operate on the basis of capitalism where individualism and private property are the basis of creating
wealth, it can also operate on the basis of collectivity, where communism and pooling of the
labor and output together forms the basis of wealth accumulation for the society. In this respect,
the social reformers such as Edward Bellamy, Henry George, and the Knights of Labor conceived
the freedom and liberty to entail the rights of the laborers to earn better wages, work for a few
hours and have a legal tender mechanism from the government that was not under the control of
the banks . On the other hand, the proponents of the liberty of contract and laissez faire like
Herbert Spencer and Andrew Carnegie conceived the liberty and freedom to entail individualism
and private property ownership as the basis of

Australian Personal Property Securities Laws Essay
Question 1
(a)
Australian laws relating to personal property securities ( PPS ) have been messy for years, based
on often incomplete state records which have never been centralised. The major rationales for the
reforms are that the previous laws were inflexible, outdated, and prevent product innovation.[1]
Personal property incorporates intellectual property , an important repository of wealth in the 21st
century.
This causes a need to incorporatefor flexible and modern laws which encourage consumers and
producers to conveniently ... raise finance ...on the security of such property [2] which encourage
investment which in turn leads to the creation of wealth.

All the transactions even those which are not treated as a security interest will have to be treated
the same. As a result, the levels of transparency and certainty on third parties would be improved.
The PPS reforms have ensured that there is a national electronic register which will cater for all
security interests in personal property. The register will be used as a notice board of the registered
personal securities thus not providing conclusive evidence of priority.[15]
The PPS Act has affected securities granted in regard to leases, hire purchase agreements, chattel
mortgages, floating and fixed charges, and to consignments of agreements and goods that
incorporate title retention among others. Another major feature of the PPS Act reform is perfection
to prioritize security interests over other related security interests through control, possession, and
registration.[16] For instance, contracts negotiability and assignability of contracts have been
changed and made more effective. The concept of security interest has been broadened to the extent
of including traditional securities such as mortgages and charges.[17] which will allow the
borrowers to be in a position to get funds. The

The Salem witch trials were caused by a group of girls who wanted to get moral vengeance on others for the unproven morals they have disregarded. The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, has portrayed the ideology behind mass hysteria excellently, and common traits are located throughout all of the events of mass hysteria mentioned in this paper. Our society has not changed compared to the societies during the Salem witch trials. Individuals are still comparing themselves to one another. • 4. The Buddha, The Dharma, And The Sangha Starting out in the Indian subcontinent, Buddhism grew to be a dominant religion that spread throughout Asia. Buddhism is rooted in the three elements known as the Three Jewels : the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. Through these elements, followers practice meditation and self control in order to reach the state of enlightenment, or nirvana. The religion was pioneered by The Buddha, whose last reincarnation was named Siddhartha in Nepal around 600 B.C.E. He was a human who transcended to a state of enlightenment, understanding and practicing the three elements of Buddhism. Unlike the main figure in many other world religions, Buddha did not deem himself God or a prophet, but just a regular man who learned the teachings of nonviolence, inner peace, and balance. Siddhartha was born as a prince and lived a lavish life growing up. However he eventually realized that his life would not be fulfilled by material belongings, and abdicated his position. Siddhartha went on to study meditation and yoga, eventually reaching enlightenment. The pervasiveness and inevitability of suffering in human life was a main topic contemplated by Buddha throughout his life. The sources of suffering are key in the path to enlightenment, and Buddha realized this in his quest to enlightenment as well. These topics, among other core teachings of Buddhism, are substantiated and outlined by the experiences of the last Buddha. One of the most core topics explored by Buddhism, the pervasiveness and ... • 5. The Murder Of The Manson Family By Timothy Dwight A murderer is normally defined by the psychological attributes that define him or her. These killers often suffer from a psychotic delusion that forces them to commit their horrific crimes. However, those who are pronounced sane and rational have a moral conviction that drives them to kill. It is this principle that separates the average murder from the psychotic sadists that believes in what he or she does. Charles Manson, leader of the Manson Family, believed in the apocalyptic war of Helter Skelter, the uprising of blacks and the mass genocide of whites (Whitehead). Manson s firm conviction about Helter Skelter separates him from other criminals who commit their crimes out of insanity. In Travels in New England and New York, author ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to his hormonal deficiency, Leopold became socially reclusive, often not talking to anyone. His counterpart, Loeb, was handsome and societal person. However, he possessed a demonical side, the love for the life of crime. Although the Beadle and Loeb and Leopold lived in different eras, the attributes that define the murderers are still the same. Whereas Loeb and Leopold focus on a philosophical conundrum, Beadle is faced with a moral conundrum. However, these characters share a common dilemma, such as social repression, that emulates the personality of a murderer. It is these ideals and motivations that exemplify the motivation and belief system that drive a person to kill. As such, these stories are commendable examples that embody the true crime genre. The aftermath of the Revolutionary War brought freedom to the colonies, but also caused a brief economic collapse. Beadle, accustomed to a luxurious lifestyle, would rather face death than be considered part of the lower class. Dwight acknowledges Beadle s pride as the source of condemnation. Dwight states, When he [Beadle] saw his circumstances reduced so as to threaten him with a necessary and humiliating change...pride prompted him...in a sullen hostility against God and man... (49). The demotion into a different class status frightened Beadle, thus igniting his sense of pride. Beadle felt that he could not lose the life that he was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Persuasive Speech On Animals In Zoo Albert Einstein once said: Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty. Ladies and gentlemen, Today, I stand before you to address the growing issue of animals being imprisoned. Put yourself in the shoes of the animal; can you imagine being locked up in a cage, eating, sleeping and excreting in the same place every day? Well, animals in zoos are forced to! Can we really say that animals in zoos, enjoy being taken away from their parents and natural habitats? The answer to that question is No! . Did you know that tigers and lions have nearly eighteen thousand times less space in a zoo than they do in their natural habitat and polar bears ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In zoos, animals have no possible ways to defend themselves or escape from dangerous situations. In many cases, animals in zoos have been poisoned, starved or even burned in fires! A recent example on May 28, 2016 was where an animal was killed in the Cincinnati zoo was the shooting of the gorilla Harambe . In this incident, an irresponsible parent was not looking after her child and the child climbed into the enclosure. The gorilla was then shot in order to save the child. Another major incident dates back to the Hurricane Katrina. Here, the employees were forced to leave as the power failed which led to over 10,000 aquatic animals being killed. Animals should be given the freedom they deserve. They should not be held captive in zoos and we can help stop this insanity. If people stop buying tickets to look at imprisoned animals, zoos will be forced to stop imprisoning and breeding wild animals. There are many better ways of studying an animal, such as looking up about it online, or even watching an animal documentary which shows the animal in its natural habitat, with its natural behavior. The animals need to be happy to live the life they were put on earth ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The humanrace has a fascination with exceptional things. We hold creativity, intelligence, bravery, uniqueness, and exceptionalism in the highest esteem. The math genius who takes Adderall would not naturally have the same focusing ability that they would without the medication. Considering that they are giving themselves an outside advantage, would it be fair if they were given a prize over other people with the same intelligence that are competing without the advantage? No. How can you even compare two competitors, when you don t know if the first could beat the second without the advantage? From an educational view point when you cheat, you are taking away your potential for true intellectual growth. A teacher by the name of Jessica Lahey wrote an article in the Atlantic Daily that attempted to dive into the pedagogical reasons behind students cheating. Later on Lahey wrote a reflective post online at www.theatlantic.com about the previous article in which she comes to understand that not only pedigogical fallacies lead to cheating but that fact that many students view cheating as okay. In this reflection she describes an email response from a student who personally cheated and was quite proud of it. In the case of infringement and copyrights, the accuser can file a claim against the alleged group/individual for using their trademarkor ideas. Although there are standards that are enforced by most industrialized nations there are no fully international property rights and countries don t always interpret and enforce intellectual property right with the same standards. This problem could be addressed by setting international rules and regulations that could be used to address more of specific issues then the basics that are covered in the Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS) and the World Trade Organization (WTO). • 9. Theme Of DГ©sirГ©e s Baby The dark undertones of miscegenation, racism, misogyny, references to death, and allusions to heartbreak and betrayal highlight the tragic story of DГ©sirГ©e s Baby, by Kate Chopin. In short, DГ©sirГ©e s Baby takes place in Louisiana, sometime during the 19th century, where a couple on a plantation is torn apart over the fact that their infant child is part African American. Throughout DГ©sirГ©e s Baby, Kate Chopin uses symbolism to illustrate themes of miscegenation, gender roles, misogyny, death, and self hate. First, Miscegenation is a strong theme in this story, as it is the main reason why the relationship between DГ©sirГ©e and Armand fell apart. Although she appeared Caucasian and had fair skin and eyes, more so than Armand, and was even able to fool Armand to the point where the realization came about when the baby appeared black, she still was disowned by him. The introduction of the story describing how Armand and DГ©sirГ©e first met makes this separation even bitterer. Armand fell in love with DГ©sirГ©e at first sight, or as described in the story as if struck by a pistol shot (551). Armand acts as though he is a victim of circumstance and that the love of his life was tainted because of her racial background, and had the baby appeared white, they would have carried on with their lives in ignorance of their pasts. Racism is present in the relationship as well, and Armand strongly believes that someone who is colored is not good enough for him. Another obvious example from the story is the exploitation and neglect of the black slaves that Armand owned, which would likely live at the plantation until death, for manumission was relatively rare in the United States (Cole 1010) at the ... Because that is a deep down desire of the majority, many people are always on a quest to slow down the aging process. So, our question for today is: What are the Anti Aging Benefits of the Mediterranean Diet? First, we must acknowledge that no diet in the world can halt or slow the aging process. They would much rather have a fast food burger and cheese fries instead it s easier and tastier. What they don t know is that the Mediterranean Diet is filled with DELICIOUS AND HEALTHY food, which is why people in the Mediterranean Region are often healthier and live longer lives than Americans. The foundation of the Med Diet is fresh vegetables. In the US, vegetables are typically an afterthought, with unhealthy choices like fried potatoes being classified as vegetables. When you make vegetables the center of your meals, you will get your daily dose of antioxidants to fight the free radicals in your body; plus give your body necessary nutrients and keep your skin healthy and supple. Each class I see the determination on each person s face to do well because there s the constant pressure of letting the rest of the band down. Because we are so small, each person has to play to the absolute best of their abilities; each individual person needs to be a strong player in order for our band to sound good. I ve played in larger bands on several occasions and I was shocked to see that some kids would just... not play. Our band cannot afford that leniency. Our size in itself is a challenge. I often struggle to comprehend how good of a player I am, especially because I have performance anxiety which hinders me during auditions and most performances. Our group chose to conduct an experiment that proves that students prefer Starbucks to Kaldi s. To ensure we got the best results, we created an eight question survey, which we used as factors in our descriptive statistics and regression outputs. They included: how old are you, what school are you in, what gender are you, do you prefer Starbucks or Kaldi s, do you enjoy a treat with your drink, do you prefer a store or out in the open, how many drinks do you get in a week, and what drives your choice. Riley started a rigorous training program for Owens in special morning sessions before school. Within a year, Owens was running the 100 yard dash in eleven seconds and in 1928 he set two world records for his age group in the high jump, at six feet, and the long jump, at twenty two feet, eleven and three quarters inches. Later, President Lyndon Johnson went on to sign the Civil Rights Act, which prohibits discrimination of all kinds backed on race, color, religion, or national origin. On June 4, 1965, in an eloquent speech to the graduating class at Howard University, President Johnson frames the concept underlying affirmative action, asserting that civil rights laws alone are not enough to remedy discrimination: quot; You do not wipe away the scars of centuries by saying: now, you are free to go where you want, do as you desire, and choose the leaders you please. You do not take a man who for years has been hobbled by chains, liberate him, bring him to the starting line of a race, saying, you are free to compete with all the others, and still justly believe you have been completely fair . . . Presenting a balance to the subject, there is an analysis to both the positivity and negativity behind abandoning media. • 27. An Investigation Of Understanding Energy Systems Energy is required for all kinds of bodily processes including growth and development, repair, the transport of various substances between cells and of course, muscle contraction. It is this last area that Exercise Scientists are most interested in when they talk about energy systems. Whether it s during a 26 mile marathon run or one explosive movement like a tennis serve, skeletal muscle is powered by one and only one compound... adenosine triphosphate (ATP) (2). However, the body stores only a small quantity of this energy currency within the cells and its enough to power just a few seconds of all out exercise (5). So the body must replace or resynthesize ATP on an ongoing basis. Understanding how it does this is the key to understanding energy systems. An ATP molecule consists of adenosine and three (tri) inorganic phosphate groups. When a molecule of ATP is combined with water (a process called hydrolysis), the last phosphate group splits away and releases energy. The molecule of adenosine triphosphate now becomes adenosine diphosphate or ADP (2). Energy is measured in calories To replenish the limited stores of ATP, chemical reactions add a phosphate group back to ADP to create ATP. This process is called phosphorylation. If this occurs in the presence of oxygen it is labelled aerobic metabolism or oxidative phosphorylation. If it occurs without oxygen it is labelled anaerobic metabolism (2). The Dual Alliance between Austria Hungary and the German Empire in 1879 ensured a promise of mutual defense if either side was attacked by Russia, and neutrality if attacked by any other nation. Italy joined the Dual Alliance in 1882 forming the Triple Alliance or central powers. Additionally, France formed an alliance with Russia in 1894 and an entente cordiale, or friendship with Britain in 1904. Subsequently, Britain formed an entente with Russia in 1907, effectively forming the Triple Entente. This relationship further exacerbated German fears of encirclement and left if facing a war on two fronts if it attacked or was attacked by one of the members of the Entente. The nations involved perceived these alliances as a form of protection and a deterrent to war. However, as predicted by the spiral mode, it only further increased concerns and decreased trust amongst the belligerents. Additionally, the alliances united the nations together so that, if one country went to war, the others were obligated to honor the alliance and join their partners in war (Tuchman). I consider that experience invaluable because it teaches me what I can not learn in a classroom and helps expand my knowledge in that field 1.One skill that I learned while watching the Lynda.com videos was creating functions in tables to help calculate averages, sums, products, etc. Learning how to use mathematic functions through Microsoft Word can not only be helpful but in many cases essential for an accountant to learn. An example of when this skill would be helpful is when I would need to prepare financial data into a word document for a financial report. If I mastered this skill I would be able to input financial data into tables and graphs much faster, which would allow me to spend more time on research and the quality of my work. This tool is also useful because it shows that unlike many accountants in the industry I can prove to my company that I am familiar with technology and that I am efficient. Proving that I am an efficient accountant can be very valuable because many accounting companies especially the Big Four look for graduates that have a strong accounting background but that are also technologically adapt. In And Our Flag Was Still There, Barbara Kingsolver shares her ideals about the countries state of being after the 9 11 attack. She believes America continues to lose sight of true patriotism and unity among the people. The iconography of a flagembodies patriotism, consisting of standing up and upholding a specific set of values for one s country. Although the American flag exemplifies independence, the symbolism behind the American flag misrepresents the vision of modern day America. The historical fight for freedom hinders future peace within the American society. Kingsolver expresses her thoughts about the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kingsolver explains that the Americans tearing through the country with firearms represent America in a negative way. She shares a memory about a man misrepresenting America by killing foreign Americans: Like the man in a city near us who went on a rampage crying I m an American as he shot at foreign born neighbors, killing a gentle Sikh man in a turban and terrifying every brown skinned person I know (Kingsolver, 2014, para. 7). Opposition in America creates strife and violence because the red blooded Americans disregard foreigners as true Americans. The melting pot of America consists of kicking out the people lacking in the American ways. Kingsolver, in light of the aftermath of 9 11, expresses her thoughts on her beliefs and the definition of patriotism. She believes the people of America represent the iconography and her patriotism means all people banning together in one accord. She stresses, That is my flag, and that s what it means: We re all just people together (Kingsolver, 2014, para. 14). As one of the four inheritors of Max s will, Chloe would receive $3.1 million dollars in the event of the millionaire s death. According to Chloe s testimony she went upstairs to take a shower in the bathroom at about 2:30 pm and returned to the crime scene when Ray called out at 3 pm (Suspect Case File). The blueprint of the house depicts that it contains one second floor bathroom. Furthermore, both Ray and Chloe are supposedly in the bathroom at the same time, however this piece of information is highly unlikely, suggesting inconsistency in Chloe s alibi. Another fault in Chloe s testimony is how she was supposedly in the shower during the murder. This goes in tandem with the hairbrush discovered at the crime scene. According to the Forensic Report, The DNA in the comb when compared side by side with Chloe s DNA shows a perfect match (Forensic Report). The results from the DNA Testing Lab demonstrate that Chloe s hair was in the brush found at the crime scene. The fact that Chloe discloses she was in the shower at Max s party indicates she likely used the hairbrush during the day at the millionaire s mansion. The most obvious criticism of Christiano s proposal is that regardless of a regulation s intent or effect, regulation of campaign expenditures is an infringement on freedom of expression. Many consider one s allocation of one s own resources to be a mode of expression, and the Supreme Court has generally upheld this view in Buckley vs. Valeon and Citizens United vs. FEC. In this sense, limiting campaign expenditure is specifically limiting those who are able and willing to provide private expenditures from doing so. Such a limitation can been seen as a violation of freedom of expression, and Christiano s proposal to limit certain expressions in order to promote freedom of expression can seem absurd. Christiano, however, argues that this temporary limitation is not an unduly interference because the cost of campaign regulation on freedom of expression is surpassed by its benefits for freedom of expression. He admits that the affluents will be restricted from fully wielding their economic advantages, but he claims that this limitation will preserve and promote diversity of opinions during the campaign period and also ensure long run development of discussions. Long Distance Rates And Revenue As long distance rates and revenue declined, the debt and expenses piled up and put pressure on WorldCom s ability to meet key performance indicators and earnings forecasts (J. Randel Kuhn Sutton, 2006). The line cost was the biggest expense for WorldCom and half of its total expenses. Management committed to achieve a low line cost to revenue ratio because lower ratio meant better performance and higher ratio meant poorer performance. Managementfocused on lowering the line cost level expense (J. Randel Kuhn Sutton, 2006). It carried out two improper accounting methods to reduce the amount of line costs (Beresford, Katzenbach, C.B. Rogers, 2003). First, it released the accruals, the amounts kept aside on WorldCom s financial statements to pay expected bills which is also called cookie jar reserve from 1999 2000 (Beresford, Katzenbach, C.B. Rogers, 2003). These accruals were supposed to reflect the estimate line costs and other expenses that WorldCom had not yet paid (Beresford, Katzenbach, C.B. Rogers, 2003). Releasing the accrual is appropriate when it turns out that less is needed to pay the bills than has been expected to pay. Instead, WorldCom provided offset against reported line costs when the accrual was released which reduced reported expenses and increased pre tax income (Beresford, Katzenbach, C.B. Rogers, 2003). How did social reformers such as Edward Bellamy, Henry George, and the Knights of Labor conceive of liberty and freedom differently than the proponents of the liberty of contract and laissez faire like Herbert Spencer and Andrew Carnegie? Which of these groups was successful in imposing their vision on the larger society in the years before the turn of the century? Why? Introduction Liberty and freedom was conceived differently by the social reformers and the proponents of the liberty of contract and laissez faire. The difference actually emanated in the manner in which the two groups interpreted the suitability of the operation of the economy. While the economy can operate on the basis of capitalism where individualism and private property are the basis of creating wealth, it can also operate on the basis of collectivity, where communism and pooling of the labor and output together forms the basis of wealth accumulation for the society. In this respect, the social reformers such as Edward Bellamy, Henry George, and the Knights of Labor conceived the freedom and liberty to entail the rights of the laborers to earn better wages, work for a few hours and have a legal tender mechanism from the government that was not under the control of the banks . On the other hand, the proponents of the liberty of contract and laissez faire like Herbert Spencer and Andrew Carnegie conceived the liberty and freedom to entail individualism and private property ownership as the basis of ... The register will be used as a notice board of the registered personal securities thus not providing conclusive evidence of priority.[15] The PPS Act has affected securities granted in regard to leases, hire purchase agreements, chattel mortgages, floating and fixed charges, and to consignments of agreements and goods that incorporate title retention among others. Another major feature of the PPS Act reform is perfection to prioritize security interests over other related security interests through control, possession, and registration.[16] For instance, contracts negotiability and assignability of contracts have been changed and made more effective.
