The Two Pieces Of Paintings
The two pieces of artworks from the list of sacred places I chose to compare were the Ziggurat of Ur
in Iraq and the Great Stupa in India. The first piece of Artwork was originally located in the city of Ur,
it is called the Ziggurat of Ur. The Ziggurat of Ur was built by the Sumerians. The Sumerians were the
first group of people in Mesopotamia, known as the cradle of civilization. They invented the first form
of writing known as cuneiform, along with the wheel. Sumerians worshipped many Gods and
Goddesses in temples or located in ziggurats (Gateways to Art, 2012, p.371). Ziggurats are known as
Mesopotamian temples or pyramids that grew in size toward the bottom, constructed from mud and
bricks. The Ziggurats were man made mountains which housed Gods and Goddesses. The Ziggurats of
Ur happen to resemble the Egyptian pyramids however they weren t produced to specifically to bury
the decease. The authors of Gateways to Art summarizes: The architectural design of the Ziggurats of
Ur is mudbrick structures made up of three stepped levels, accessed by stairways or ramps...the lowest
level is about 50ft. high and about 210 by 150 ft. in area, with others decreasing in size as they get
closer to the heavens...while the topmost platform is more than 100 ft. high (Dewitte, Larmann,
Shields, 2012, p.565). The priest is the only person that has access to the top floor of the Ziggurat of
Ur, the priest evidently is not only the commissioner of the city but he s also the one who

Research Paper On Eysenck
Hans J. Eysenck On March 4, 1916, Hans J. Eysenck was born in Berlin, Germany. At first, an
ignorant to the world of psychology, Eysenck, encouraged by friends and family embarked on the
journey and received his Ph.D. in 1940 at the age of 24. Thereafter, Eysenck invested his time in
researching the genetic influences on psychology through which the five primary factors of
characteristics emerge.
In order to understand personality, Eysenck studied all forces of biology, historical typologies,
learning theory and factor analysis. Since Eysenck believed that genetics is the source of personalities,
he defined personality as a more or less stable and enduring organization of a person s character,
temperament, intellect and physique which determines his unique adjustment to the environment.
Although he was a behaviorist, who believed that one can only study a response, he did believe that
internal sources trigger the responses. Famously, he searched to identify the genetic ... Show more

The five, commonly referred by the acronym OCEAN, categorize traits to determine where one falls
on the factors of openness, conscientious, extroversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. Original
descriptions of these factors stem from the terms used to describe them; whereas, the sophisticated
methods use the factor analysis to cluster traits and form the factor. Additionally, questionnaires and
ratings, such as the NEO PI R test, further assist in deciphering the Big Five. Last, much evidence
proves that inheritance of traits strongly impacts the Big Five theory. This is very visible on tests
conducted on identical twins whose traits are similar due to shared genes. Of course, environmental
impacts are also very active in affecting the Big Five, do different genetic traits react differently to

The Well of Despair
Pragya Chaturvedi

The Well of Despair
Harry Harlow conducted experiments on rhesus monkeys to research the nature of maternal love (
Harry Harlow, 2017). He used maternal deprivation and social isolation experiments to do so. The first
experiment he conducted was to find out what kind of maternal care the monkeys needed to be
normal; Harlow raised the infant monkeys with artificial mothers to see how different types of
mothers would affect the monkeys growth and reaction. He used a variety of mothers to research the
different preferences, and he thought that the ideal mother was a mother, soft, warm, and tender, a
mother with infinite patience, a mother available 24 hours a day (Slater, 2008, n.pag.). He used two
mothers in this experiment: one was made out of terrycloth and the other one was made out of wire (
Harry Harlow, 2017). The wire mother provided the monkeys with the materials the babies needed to
survive, like milk and food. On ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He used equipment like the rape rack, iron maidens, and the well of despair which caused emotional
trauma to the infants ( Harry Harlow, 2017). Rape rack was a forced mating device; the mothers who
had their baby using this device were abusive to their children. These mothers were unable to form
any kind of bond to their children because they were deprived of that themselves. Iron maidens were
the surrogate mothers that tormented the monkeys by shooting sharp spikes, and cold air that was so
forceful that the monkeys were thrown across the cages, clinging and screaming (Slater, 2004). Lastly,
well of despair was where the monkeys were left in dark chambers for up to a year ( Harry Harlow,
2017). The infants that were left in isolation were very disturbed. Harlow tried very hard to reverse the
depression using multiple kinds of therapy, but they all failed to

Views of Death and Loss in the Poems of Pablo Neruda and...
Death has inspired poets across time and space, language barriers, and cultures allowing them to
create transcendent works that resonate with many individuals. Two poets whose works incorporate
the theme of death are Dylan Thomas (1914 1953), a Welsh poet and writer, and Pablo Neruda (1904
1973), a Chilean poet, diplomat, and politician. Thomas s Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night,
one of his most famous poems, focuses on Thomas s struggle to come to terms with his father s death.
Neruda s poem, The Dead Woman focuses on the poets resolve to overcome the loss of the woman he
loves. Both Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night and The Dead Woman demonstrate how each
poet views death and how he is able to come to terms with the loss of a loved one.
Thomas wrote Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night shortly before his father s death. In the poem,
Thomas supplicates his father to fight against his instinct and desire to give in to death through various
appeals. Thomas argues, Old age should burn and rave at close of day (Thomas 2). Through this
statement, Thomas maintains that despite one s age, there is a desire to fight against death, whether
because one is afraid to face the inevitable or because one wishes to live as long as they can. Thomas
provides his father with various examples of different types of men, who despite their differences
share a common goal. He describes how wise men who at their end know dark is right, Good men, the
last wave by, crying

The Argument Of Free Will
Philosophers have debated and struggled with the argument of free will for centuries. In my opinion, I
would like to believe that we have free will because I would hope that my decisions are mine and not
of some powerful overlord or an advanced civilization in a simulation. Over the years there have been
many theories or speculations about free will. Some philosophers would define free will as the ability
to do what we want to do . With this definition, we do have free will because most of the time we can
do what we want. However, we could be made to believe that it is our choice, but if we were to repeat
a scenario where you choose option A we would repeatedly pick option A because it could not happen
any other way. Different religions

Essay about Lonely Hearts Wendy Cope
Writing Assignment on Poetry (Lonely Hearts pg430) Classy Classifieds; Lonely Hearts Lonely
Hearts written by Wendy Cope is an enjoyable piece that draws readers in with its simplicity and
straightforwardness. The title of the piece, tells the reader exactly what the poem is about while the
writer s thoughts are followed throughout the length of the poem with the writer s unique style. Cope s
approach of classified advertisements captures the reader s imagination and understanding that one
may be so desperate to find love that he would go to many extremes to find someone special. Through
word choice, diction, imagery and irony, she keeps the reader s attention. Cope, starts her poem with a

person that may come their way. However, they seem as if they seek perfection, which we know
cannot be found in one person, therefore they may end up back to this classified ad in the near future.
Imagery along with a touch of irony is found within the poem to pull the reader into the poem. The
speakers describe exactly who they are, and what they are looking for in the person who they seek.

London? Is it you? (7) Within the captioned lines, we see exactly who the person is and what they

dressed in their character. It is very ironic the speakers choice of finding a match for themselves. You
would think persons this lonely would make time to try to go out to find a person. However, they write
an ad and hope that someone would read the ad and find them. This thought seems to be ironic for
persons who find themselves in a place of desperation like the captioned persons. They should ve been
looking at social spots or events to find that which they are seeking. Lonely Hearts conveys a deep
sense of desperation of those who seek alternative methods of finding love. This trend of
matchmaking has significantly grown from the

The Importance Of Natural Disasters In Elementary Schools
Summary
Natural disasters occur frequently throughout the nation. As a state, New York may not be hit by
similar disasters as the rest of the nation, but we should still be teaching young kids about the different
natural disasters that can occur and how to properly prepare for them. Not only is it important for
young children to know for their own safety, but we know they will be the ones to go home and tell
their families about it. They will spread their knowledge about the safety guidelines when it comes to
natural disasters, but to make them aware we must have a curriculum for emergency preparedness
included in the classroom lessons for the year.
Discussion
Education is a valuable asset someone can have. We are taught a variety of information, some of
which stays with us for the rest of our lives and other information that is temporarily learned for the
purpose of a course. During elementary school, we are absorbing all types of new information from
learning the alphabet to learning how to write a sentence. Through these years we are also taught basic
fire safety skills, who to call in case of an emergency, and what to do in case of a fire alarm or lock
down. However, we are never taught throughout our years of school, how to prepare for a disaster. It is
during this time where we should implement a curriculum dedicated specifically to emergency
preparedness for students.

Common Characteristics And Similarities Between Dari And...
Abstract
Dari is the language that my paper will discuss in detail. This language is spoken in Afghanistan by 5
million people. In this paper I will discuss some characteristics of the frequency adverbs. I will show
examples to prove how these adverbs move in the sentences freely and where they occur. What was
interesting also is that I found similarities between Dari and English. Frequency adverbs in Dari have
common characteristics with English. Both languagesallow adverbs to move in different position.
1. Introduction
Dari is a spoken language in Afghanistan. It is a SOV language. For this paper I choose to
discuss(frequency adverbs). An adverb is a word that modifiesthe manners of verbs. There are many
kinds of adverbs such as manner, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aksar
2. Aksarwagt: in this case, people addsuffixwagt which means (time) to refer to a specific time.
It is not important to add or delete the suffix wagt. If it is added it will not change themeaning in a
speech it only tells what is the time in a very specific way. If it is deleted people will know that you
are talking about time but not in certainty.
4. Conclusion :
In Dari, adverbs like (Frequently, always, sometimes and usually) occurs in 3 positions: before verb,
after verb and at the begging of a sentence.
Adverb like usually has 2 ways in written form: aksar before verb and aksarwagt if the position is
changed.
Adjectives can be described as adverbs by adding the prefix ba, and they will always occur before
verbs.
To conclude this paper, Dari is an interesting and simple language. Frequency adverbs are interesting
because they describe the time of any event. Their Frequency adverbs are flexible and they move
easily in the sentences. They occur in the beginning of the sentence, before or after a verb. They do
not make any changes to the meaning.

Negligent Tort
Negligence is a tort law and it falls within the civil law which means a civil wrong has been
committed (Tort and Negligence, 2012). The American civil justice system, defines the law of torts as
situations that occur when the wrongful conduct of one party causes harm to another individual
(WiseGeek, 2003). The responsible party fails to act as a reasonable person to someone to whom she
or he owes a duty, as required by law under the circumstances. Negligent torts are not committed
purposely, and there must be an injury that occurs from the breach of the duty (Negligent Tort Law,
2014).

Small injuries or damages may occur when products malfunction, death may occur, or there could be
damage done to ones property. The company could face possible lawsuits and in order to prove
negligence, an individual must have had a duty of care, which is defined as having responsibility to act
in the best interest of another. A company must always be ready to defend itself in all the possible
issues that may arise and cause any form of lawsuit (WiseGeek, 2003).
Recalled Product
Even though businesses do not like to recall its products, but when there is a safety problem involved
a recall takes precedent over rather a company will lose money. Recalls are necessary to protect
consumers from injuries, and to save lives. Recalls are beneficial to everyone when expedited
effectively. From the act of negligence a company could publicly be exposed which could result in
profit loss due to consumers being afraid or refuse to purchase the product, and the stock values could
fall if the company is publicly traded. This can be very damaging for a business and could ultimately
force the company to go out of business (Seaquist, 2012).

responsible for protecting the public from unreasonable risks of injury and death associated with
consumer products. The CPSC has jurisdiction over approximately 15,000 different types of products

Harold And Maude Psychology Essay
Focusing on a twenty year old obsessed with death and suicide who falls in love with an eccentric
almost eighty year old woman, Harold and Maude is a somewhat unconventional romantic comedy
widely regarded as a cult classic. This movie s use of suicide and other sensationalized ideas from
Psychology is jarring to say the least, but its Psychological principles are not limited to those. There
are many everyday aspects of Psychology immortalized through this film that would hardly make one
bat an eye. In the movie, twenty year old Harold lives, mostly, with his mother. During the time he is
not living with his mother, he is faking suicide for her attention, bringing home a hearse as his first
car, or attending funerals, presumably for fun. Harold s quirks seem to at least somewhat ... Show

She is easygoing in her old age, and nothing seems to truly get to her. She lives her life freely,
borrowing cars and experiencing everything that life has to offer. Maude sees every day as an
adventure, and is just there to enjoy the ride. This type of personality itself has a specific name in
psychology, and it is known as a Type B personality.
Type B personalities are known for being easygoing and relaxed, as well as less prone to stress in
uncomfortable situations (Myers 402). This leads to them being less angry overall, as well as generally
optimistic. This, as well, leads to less frustration, and less aggression (Myers 403). This is extremely
noticeable in the case of Maude.
Maude lives extremely freely, and so the Type B label works extremely well with her. Her living in her
own, calmly determined way allows her to live a relatively stress free existence. This allows her to
experience many different things in her life and still smile brightly and attempt to help Harold see
things her way as well. By the end of the movie, Harold seems to have adopted a perspective that
allows him to be classified as this personality type as

Analysis Of The Song My Beloved Is Mine
In Canticle I, composed by Benjamin Britten, the song has been praised for its beautiful composition
to its seventeenth century poem by Francis Quarles, entitled My beloved is mine . Britten has written
this song for a high voice , with no specific type of a voice. Thus, this song could be sung by a tenor
or a mezzo, although often times by a tenor. The poem, derived from the Song of Solomon, has seven
stanzas in all. However, Britten has omitted the fourth stanza and combined the first and the second,
and the last two stanzas to make a four movement song of this poem. This poem is unique in a sense
that at the end of each stanza (with the exception of one), this poem concludes with So I my best
beloved s am; so he is mine. Although the poem is said to be adapted from the Song of Solomon and
thus the bible, Britten chose this specific poem to represent his personal relationship with the pianist
who accompanied this very song, Peter Pears. In this paper, I will be looking at each movement
carefully and how the text relates to the music Britten has composed. This song is clearly divided into
four movements, along with the poem. The first movement is entitled Andante alla barcarola, and by
definition, is a folk song sung by Venetian gondoliers. This movement contains the first two stanzas of
the poem, and right away, we see the symbolism within the music by Britten. This first stanza
specifically discusses of the metaphor of two streams (people) coming together to be one.

Me And Earl And The Dying Girl Analysis
Review of Me and Earl and the Dying Girl
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (hereafter Me and Earl) was the big hit coming out of this year s
Sundance Film Festival, winning both the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Prize. Thus, Me and
Earl duplicated the feat that Whiplash managed last year. Since I liked Whiplash, I wanted to see Me
and Earl. Since Me and Earl features characters with which I should easily identify, I wanted to see it
even more. It did not disappoint my high expectations.
Me and Earl and the Dying Girl tells the story of Greg (Thomas Mann), a loner in high school, and his
doomed friendship with Rachel (Olivia Cooke). The awkward Greg only wants to survive high school,
and to accomplish this goal he ingratiates himself with every student in the school. He has no friends,
only acquaintances, but he makes no enemies, either. Greg does, however, hang out with his co worker
Earl (RJ Cyler), who he has known since kindergarten and makes parodies of classic films with. When
one of Greg s classmates, Rachel, is diagnosed with leukemia, Greg s mother (Connie Britton) forces

At times, Me and Earl is downright hilarious. Nearly every time Earl talks, I laughed or smiled. The
silly parodies Greg and Earl make of classic movies are funny on multiple levels, whether title or their
rendition of famous scenes. (Examples include Brew Velvet, 2:48 PM Cowboy, A box of lips wow,
and A Sockwork Orange, all of which include amusing scenes. It should also be noted that another
highlight of this movie is its infectious love of other movies). The funniest bit, however, comes from a
touch by the director Alfonso Gomez Rejon. Greg describes hot girls as moose that accidently trample
on lame guys (chipmunks). Whenever the film s resident attractive girl approaches Greg, Gomez
Rejon shows a Claymation moose stomping on a chipmunk. I laughed every time this

Hunger in Ethiopia Essay
How would you feel if your body slowly turns on you, devouring the cells that make up your very

The location and geography of the country has caused the people to experience famine after famine,
leaving many to die from starvation. A famine is in definition, A great shortage or an extreme scarcity
of food over an extended period of time (Webster). There are several different types of famine that
occur in different types of the world. The type that Ethiopia generally goes through is called a
Ravallion. During a Ravallion famine, there are unusually large amounts of causalities with extreme
shortages of food in certain parts of the population. There are many things that cause famine, whether
it s draught, plague, or civil disrupt. Right now, Ethiopia is experiencing a draught that has killed
almost all of their crops. Because of the famines that Ethiopia experiences most every year, there is
usually an increase in the amount of people malnourished. This year, 11to 14 million people are
expected to go hungry leaving many to starve to death. Ethiopia has experienced many draughts like
these, the worst however, being in 1983. This draught lasted two years and the draught alone killed
over 400,000 people in one year, this doesn t include the deaths that were due to starvation

Ideal Man and Woman in The Tale of Genji Essay
Based on Murasaki Shikibu s The Tale of Genji the ideal man and the ideal woman of the Heian Court
can easily be discerned as not truly existing, with the main character, Genji, being the nearly satirical
example of what was the ideal man, and descriptions of the many women in the story as prescription
of the ideal woman with the young Murasaki playing a similar role to that of Genji in the story.
It is made clear from the beginning of the story that Genji is the example of the ideal man. In chapter
one, The Paulownia Pavilion (Kiritsubo) , Genji is born to the emperor and a woman of middle birth
as a wonderfully handsome son (5) who was with such marvels of beauty and character that no one

Although Murasaki Shikibu parodies the idealness of Genji s character by showing even though he is
ideal he is still not perfect, by having Genji admired by the majority of the other characters in the story
she is acknowledging that Genji is an ideal man (or at least as close as one can get in the Heian Court).
His [Genji s] many flaws are balanced by his charm, taste, generosity, humor, and sensitivity.
There are both concrete and abstract things that make up the character of the ideal Heian man that
Genji represents. In the realm of the tangible, Genji is able to play all instruments beautifully, paint
with excellence, and compose poetry that is perfect as well as his incomparable beauty (among many
other thing)s, and in the realm of the intangible, Genji was charming and smart and emotional.
Reference to his excellence in everything is made in almost every chapter. In fact, if I were to list all
the things at which he excelled, I would only succeed in making him sound absurd. (10). With this
particular line Murasaki Shikibu is recognizing that Genji was indeed amazing, but she does not want
to make him sound absurd by listing all the qualities that become him because the list is inexhaustible.
By saying this however she is commenting on the fact that if one were to hear all of which Genji
excelled in people would realize the absurdity of Genji as a character.
An important thing that is noticeable about

The Japanese-American Internment Camps
Whenever you think of World War II camps, the first thing that comes to mind are the Nazi
concentration camps. Although not many people think about the American internment camps, they
were a very big problem at the time for the Japanese. Most of the Japanese were relocated to these
camps, many of which were atrocious. During World War II, the Japanese American internment camps
had many issues, such as: being forced from communities, harsh living conditions, and prejudice from
the non Japanese. Two months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt signed executive
order 9066, authorizing the War Relocation Authority to force 117,000 Japanese from their homes to
camps, 70,000 of which were born in America ( Japanese Relocation During World War II ). Even the

Between the period stretching from 400 to 800 AD, Celtic speaking regions throughout Britain and

Ireland is built on four certain provinces, consisting of Ulaid, Leinster, Munster and Connacht. All of

along with early Irish laws, provide us with a primary source of information illustrating important

Lead The Way
People Lead the Way VRIO stands for value, rarity, imitability and organization. It represents a
strategic tool to assist with evaluating a company s internal resources and capabilities as a way to
provide a competitive advantage (Jurevicius, 2013). This tool can provide insight into the critical
nature an organization assumes with identifying, sourcing and attracting new leadership. Leaders drive
organizations, set the tone, establish culture and are ultimately accountable for organizational
performance. People lead the way to successful operations. Without the right people a business is just
walls and capital equipment incapable of generating value. People are the brains of an operation,
ensuring the rest of the body understands the response required to function. The importance of putting
the right person in the right position can prove a daunting task. Every person is unique with a different
mental and physical makeup. This make up shapes a person s beliefs and attitudes. Putting a
personality that is square in a round hole can be met with disaster. There are a number of methods to
help understand a person s personality. Myers Briggs is a personality type indicator (MBTI). It
represents a method where a person answers a set of unique questions to help establish their
personality traits. Understanding these traits can provide insight into how a person processes
information and interacts with others. Understanding one s personality, in conjunction with other

The Cab Rank Rule
Research Essay
Introduction
Australia has taken from English Law in adopting the cab rank rule, encoded in The Victorian Bar
Incorporated Practice Rules 2009 (Vic). This essay will discuss the application of the rule, the
strengths and weaknesses and will conclude to discuss why the rule should remain an integral part of
the Bar despite many calls for its abolition.
What is the cab rank principle ?
The cab rank rule states that a lawyer practicing solely as a barrister must accept a brief in a field they
profess to practice. Barristers are professionally bound by this duty if the brief is in the barrister s
capacity, skill and expertise; the barrister is available to appear and is not committed to other
engagements which may inhibit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second rationale behind the cab rank rule is that is protects barristers from adverse consequences
that could arise from accepting a contentious brief. A barrister may be subjected to public scrutiny or
criticism from those who believe the barrister is sympathizing with a repugnant criminal. Yet, with the
existence of the cab rank rule, the obligation to accept the brief provides the barrister with a
justification. In theory, this is an essential strength of the cab rank rule, however, in practice in may be
redundant. This rationale is on the premise that the layperson is aware of the cab rank rule, a
proposition that is far from the truth. In 2010, Brian Walters, a QC, was running for the Greens and his
Labor opponent attacked him for once taking a brief for a brown coal company. The fact that a
politician is not aware of the cab rank rule suggests that members of the general public would also be
unaware of the rule, thereby denying barristers the protection the rule purports to give.
Lastly, a barrister must refuse to accept a brief if they would be placed in a conflict of interest or
would otherwise be detrimental to the administration of justice. However, the barrister holding strong
moral views inconsistent with the subject matter is not reasonable ground to refuse a brief. If the client
still wishes to proceed despite the barrister s

Russian Ballet History
The Russian National Ballet was founded in 1989 by Sergei Radchenko, former star of the Bolshoi
Ballet. Radchenko and his wife, who run the company together, decided to tour in smaller groups, to
reach audiences in smaller cities around the globe and bring beautiful ballet to everyone. Founded
when Russia was known as the USSR, the company was government owned, but allowed Sergei, an
honored artist, to start and operate the company. Sergei and his wife, Elena found success with this
company, and opened The Moscow Festival Ballet, allowing them to tour and perform all over the

Bluebird, my favorite part of Sleeping Beauty was cut too short. When one thinks of Bluebird, they
might imagine quick petit allegro and sharp feet, and fun. Here, this was not the case, and I was quite
underwhelmed. However, the other pairs (White cat and Puss In Boots and Little Red Riding Hood
and the Wolf) made up for this. It seemed that the performers enjoyed acting out these roles, similar to
the witch. When Aurora and the Prince, who was quite a beautiful and powerful leaper, finally got
married, there was no kiss, but rather a disappointing closeness of the faces. I m not sure if this was an
artistic choice or if she had fallen off her shoe so decided to end it early, but without the kiss, is it even
Sleeping Beauty? However, while the rest of the show had a low energy to it, the finale, where
everyone was on stage, had a new life to it. I suppose it s always best to end stronger than

I was teleported to another world. Something that I wanted to happen. Earth was boring for me. It was
either me being teleported to another world or a fantasy apocalypse happening on earth. You know,
spice up life a bit. I should be excited that I am in another world but I am not in my body. Which
would have been fine, I didn t mind being in another body but.
Why a monkey? I mean it s not even a giant gorilla like a King Kong. No. It s a ten inch monkey.
White fur and blue skin and blue eyes. My teeth are sharp with two vampiric like fangs.
I know it s much better than other things that I could have become, like ants. But, a ten inch monkey

I feel like something between increasing poison and strength would be the best option. I don t want to

question. I want my enemies and humans who are potential enemies to think of me as a harmless

Hmm....
What do you have for me monkey? I search through the monkey s memories. To the monkey s credit it

Let s work on my poison first, even the mightiest can fall to a strong poison.
The spider? I find one beast or more like an insect that the monkey had once encountered. It was much

a slight pain. Which meant that the spider has a more potent venom than me.
Alright I am going to eat it. I know it will hurt like hell but I will do it anyways, I also know it won t

Immature In To Kill A Mockingbird
Introduction: You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view
Scout doesn t understand that yet. Until the ending of the book she learns that speech Atticus gave her.
(PARAGRAPH 1) R1: In the beginning of the novel To Kill a MockingBird, Lee s character, Scout is
an immature, loud mouth tomboy. Evidence: An example that demonstrates Scout being immature is
when she gets into a fight on her first day of school, Catching Walter Cunningham in the schoolyard
gave me some pleasure, but when I was rubbing his nose in the dirt Jem came by and told me to stop.
Let him go, Scout. Why?. He didn t have any lunch (30). Explanation: That s very Immature of Scout
because first off, who beats someone up because they don t have their lunch second, why on the first
day of school..? That s all childishness/Immature right their. Evidence: An example of scout having a
loud mouth is when Scout asked Dill if he has a dad? I asked Dill where his father was : You ain t said
anything about him. Is he dead? No . . . Then if he s not dead you ve got one, haven t you? (9). talks
too much , loud mouth. Explanation: Scout just asking where Dill s father is at, when he literally just
said Ain t got one is rude and just too much talk that s a loud mouth person. Evidence: A way we can

Particularly, the limitations on the importation of completed motorcycles and high tariff barriers in a
long period contributed to encouraging the formation of domestic motorcycle assembly and
production. Over the past period, there appeared several problems in the motorcycle assembly and
production industry such as the mass, short sighted production, the lack of long term vision, the low
quality of domestic products, the increasing traffic accidents and environmental pollution, the rampant
infringement of intellectual property rights, the infringement of consumers interests, etc. Such matters
must be continuously regulated to ensure the sustainable development of the industry and protect the
interests of consumers, producers and the country. Particularly in the context of international
integration, when Vietnam has become a member of the WTO and the protection by tariff barriers is
no longer existed, the motorcycle assembly production enterprises must obey the common

Pompeii Essay
This will be a research report on Pompeii, how it was affected by the eruption of Vesuvius and how it
was designed. Pompeii was a town in Italy and would soon to become disrupted by many disasters,
and an even bigger event to follow. The eruption of Vesuvius would terrify shock and kill thousands of
people living in the town, perhaps only a handful of townsfolk had survived that fateful day. Many
tried to escape the ash, hiding in house corners, believing that they would be safe, or running towards
the shores where boats were located, but the majority of people had died on that day. Pompeii, a
medium sized town, was located about ninety miles south of Rome. Pompeii was founded in six
hundred B.C. in front of Mount Vesuvius, which stood approximately six thousand, five hundred feet
from the ground into the air. Apparently, nobody in the town was well aware that Vesuvius was an
active volcano; they didn t even know that it was a volcano until the huge eruption of Vesuvius,
leaving thousands to die. Pompeii is located on a plateau that was created by lava flow from volcanoes
around the area, then hardening to create a rock substance. The city of Pompeii was built from north to
south, Vesuvius being on the north end of the town. Vesuvius offered rich, fertile land that was suitable
for growing healthy vegetation, then would be harvested and sorted out to eat later. Southwards of
Pompeii gently flowed, the river of Sarnus, this river was very crucial towards the economic life

Economics Paper

May 6, 2013
Economics is a tool that we use in our daily lives even if we don t always realize it. As people we all
have things that we want, and things that we need. This includes things like food, clothing, and shelter,
but it is not limited to those things. In order to get those things, people have to spend money. The issue
is that everything that people need and want costs money. More often than not, people do not have the
money to do both so they have to decide which things are important for them to have right now. This
does not only apply to families, but businesses as well. This paper will address different types of
economics and some of the factors that contribute to its changes. ... Show more content on

Businesses will increase the production of goods and services that cost more money because they will
be able to increase their profit margins. In the same way, when prices decrease they will scale back the
production of those products because they will not be able to as much of a profit. Companies will
always do what is best for them, and the number one reason for them being in business is to make
money. What the consumer wants will always dictate they type and price of goods and services that
are supplied. When a certain type of product comes out or starts to increase in sales it directly affects
the market for that product or service. An example of this is when iPods came out and got very
popular. The price of the product was high initially, but they were still selling very well. Apple
increased its production because they were able to make greats profits from it. After this happened
there was an influx of other mp3 players from a plethora of other electronics companies. Since they
had new found competition, Apple was forced to lower the price of the item. Consumers still preferred
the iPod over many of the other mp3 players on the market, and because of their presence, the iPod
became much more affordable. In economics the law of demand states that all else equal, as the price
of a product increases, a lower

Malathion is an organophosphate insecticide that was first registered for use in the UnitedStates in
1956. It is a colorless to amber color liquid with a skunk or garlic odor. It can be usedto control a

Complications of IVF
About 16% of heterosexual couples ages 18 44 are experiencing infertility. Indeed, it is seen in
previous studies that the older the woman the higher the rate of infertility, but recent studies have
indicated that couples ages 19 29 the rate of infertility has increased in a range from 7% to 13.7%. In
addition, infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after a whole year of intercourse without the
use of contraception. Infertility has a very high emotional impact on couples. According to Sher, Davis
and Stoess (2005) When asked what they considered to be a primary problem in their lives, almost 80
percent of the couples replied that it was their inability to conceive. It usually causes emotional pain
amongst couples. Some methods usually used to treat infertility include counseling, surgery to repair
any anatomical damage and drugs to help with ovulation and sperm function. (Sher et al., 2005)The
last poplar method usually used in North America is known as in vitro fertilization (IVF). IVF is a
process whereas the egg(s) are fertilized outside of a woman s body. When the procedure is successful,
the zygote(s) are placed in the uterus. IVF does have its advantages for woman under the maternal age
but it also has a serious risk associated with going through with the process. IVF increases the chance
of multiple births, ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome and ectopic pregnancy. Multiple births is a

Essay On White Americans
When asked to validate a statement such as the one mentioned that references the disadvantages of
minorities versus those of White Americans the three most significant obstacles, in my opinion, are
employment, education, and crime. If you have a group of people who are subordinate in those three
categories, you have individuals who are positively underprivileged. Let us begin with employment or
joblessness. Unfortunately, socioeconomic status, income, employment, and unemployment are
determined by some level of race and ethnicity. In the early 1980 s when low skilled jobs and high
wage workers wandered out of the central portion of the city, therefore increasing space and
inaccessibility to jobs, that was the beginning of employment trouble and social detachment. Even
after managing for local conditions, there was still a sizable extensive employment disadvantage for
blacks (D Amico Maxwell, 1995) As urban centralization increased and industry continued to move
the high, and low wages/skills and minority migration to the inner cities intensified(D Amico
Maxwell, 1995). It was this continued shift that left minorities reduced to an area that suffered from
high rates of joblessness, welfare dependency, crime and single parent households. There was now an
exclusion from job networks and confinement to poor quality schooling, which materialized into lousy
working habits(D Amico Maxwell, 1995).
Next, we factor in the disadvantages for minorities in education as it

Leadership Is Important When Conducting A Organization,...
Leadership is important when conducting a organization, program, or event. There are many changes
in educational organizations. The article talks about how educational organizations can adjust to
change and what it takes to implement change. Change is always good especially with the changes of
time. Technology is way more advance in the millieum era then it was in the 1990 s so changing
educational organizations should arrange with the advancement of the era. Educational organizations
that are behind with advancement could possibly fail and not succeed with a lack of participants.
According to Martincic They are incited by a number of factors: technological advancement, changed
expectations and needs of the clients, change market conditions, changing of legistration, changed
social values etc. (p.g 1). The article also goes into detail about being able to come together and take
intination in developing a plan to create change.
When individuals want to implement change they have to develop not only a plan but also have
resources and a committee or team. Therefore more then one idea or suggestion will make the plan
worthwhile of pursuing. Individuals who would want change also have to reach out to stakeholders
and politicians. Politicans are on the forefront of reaching a lot of people. As said by Martincic (2015),
Much more interesting for the long term efficiency of an organization is the change that orginates

Operation Anaconda Analysis
Unity of Command
Introduction
Operation Anaconda took place in the Shahikot Valley of eastern Afghanistan. The mission began on
March 2, 2001 and ended on March 16, 2001. A hammer and anvil attack, with 600 American and 400
Afghan troops, would rout, capture, or kill enemy forces. The operational timeline for a three day
battle projecting light combat took fourteen days to complete. During Operation Anaconda, Unity of
Command planning did not fully anticipate the need for additional forces, inducing a stall in
operations on the battlefield, and negating a timely victory.
Anticipation of Additional Forces
In keeping with the U.S. intention to keep the footprint in Afghanistan small and allow the Afghans to
do as much of the fighting as possible, TF DAGGER was directed to develop plans for an operation to
clear out the Shahi Kot valley (Fleri, Howard, Hukill, Searle, 2003, p. 8). Ground combat operations
in Afghanistan officially began on October 7, 2001 with small groups of Special Operations Forces
Soldiers training and fighting alongside Northern Alliance troops. These small bands harried Taliban
forces by calling directed air strikes and using bombers, cruise missiles, tactical fighters and AC 130
gunships. By December 22, allied forces were responsible for the liberation of Kabul and putting
Taliban forces on the defensive. By mid January 2002, reports came in of Taliban forces amassing
near the Shahikot Valley in eastern Afghanistan. By late January,

Nelson Mandela Character Analysis

11 Sep 2017
Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. The first person I think of is Nelson Mandela.
Mandela s ultimate success had to do with his character and background. Although he was born in a
royal family, grew up in a divided region of South Africa between blacks and whites. He still managed
to maintain a correct mindset to a path leading to success. You can come from a small surrounding and
have a bigger triumph than someone who comes from a lot more, or it s the total opposite. In this case,
it s the fact that coming from a wealthy family who supports you will get you anywhere. Gladwell
argues that having a superior background means that it is much easier to be successful ... Show more

Which brings me to my next point. One s background definitely has an impact on successful people. If
it were a different person with a different background, hence the situation would have turned out
differently. Many people are born already into an easier lifestyle because of the place their family has
already had. Robert Oppenheimer was a smart guy who turned out to be successful with the support of
his family and wealth. Oppenheimer didn t face the lifetime struggles, Lagan has. But he did suffer
from depression and was emotionally unstable, which made sense as to why, Oppenheimer took some
chemicals from the laboratory and tried to poison his tutor (Gladwell 98). The first instance is that any
person is going to go to jail for any crime he or she did, no matter who they are or what reputation
they hold. But for this case, Oppenheimer was taken out the hot seat and was not punished. I believe
he was let out of the situation way too easily and it was odd for them to do. Gladwell here covers
every detail of Oppenheimer s case, making it to the university and how they handled it, Blackett,
luckily, found out that something was amiss. The university was informed. Oppenheimer was called
on the carpet. And what happened next is every bit as unbelievable as the crime itself. Here is how the
incident is described in American Prometheus, Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin s biography of

  • 2. The Two Pieces Of Paintings The two pieces of artworks from the list of sacred places I chose to compare were the Ziggurat of Ur in Iraq and the Great Stupa in India. The first piece of Artwork was originally located in the city of Ur, it is called the Ziggurat of Ur. The Ziggurat of Ur was built by the Sumerians. The Sumerians were the first group of people in Mesopotamia, known as the cradle of civilization. They invented the first form of writing known as cuneiform, along with the wheel. Sumerians worshipped many Gods and Goddesses in temples or located in ziggurats (Gateways to Art, 2012, p.371). Ziggurats are known as Mesopotamian temples or pyramids that grew in size toward the bottom, constructed from mud and bricks. The Ziggurats were man made mountains which housed Gods and Goddesses. The Ziggurats of Ur happen to resemble the Egyptian pyramids however they weren t produced to specifically to bury the decease. The authors of Gateways to Art summarizes: The architectural design of the Ziggurats of Ur is mudbrick structures made up of three stepped levels, accessed by stairways or ramps...the lowest level is about 50ft. high and about 210 by 150 ft. in area, with others decreasing in size as they get closer to the heavens...while the topmost platform is more than 100 ft. high (Dewitte, Larmann, Shields, 2012, p.565). The priest is the only person that has access to the top floor of the Ziggurat of Ur, the priest evidently is not only the commissioner of the city but he s also the one who ... • 3. Research Paper On Eysenck Hans J. Eysenck On March 4, 1916, Hans J. Eysenck was born in Berlin, Germany. At first, an ignorant to the world of psychology, Eysenck, encouraged by friends and family embarked on the journey and received his Ph.D. in 1940 at the age of 24. Thereafter, Eysenck invested his time in researching the genetic influences on psychology through which the five primary factors of characteristics emerge. In order to understand personality, Eysenck studied all forces of biology, historical typologies, learning theory and factor analysis. Since Eysenck believed that genetics is the source of personalities, he defined personality as a more or less stable and enduring organization of a person s character, temperament, intellect and physique which determines his unique adjustment to the environment. Although he was a behaviorist, who believed that one can only study a response, he did believe that internal sources trigger the responses. Famously, he searched to identify the genetic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The five, commonly referred by the acronym OCEAN, categorize traits to determine where one falls on the factors of openness, conscientious, extroversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. Original descriptions of these factors stem from the terms used to describe them; whereas, the sophisticated methods use the factor analysis to cluster traits and form the factor. Additionally, questionnaires and ratings, such as the NEO PI R test, further assist in deciphering the Big Five. Last, much evidence proves that inheritance of traits strongly impacts the Big Five theory. This is very visible on tests conducted on identical twins whose traits are similar due to shared genes. Of course, environmental impacts are also very active in affecting the Big Five, do different genetic traits react differently to identical environmental ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The World Turns Michael Parekowhai Analysis Shaded by trees and peacefully overlooking the Brisbane river, a five metre bookend in the shape of an elephant stands, on its side, observed by the beady eyes of kuril. A bronze chair complements the life sized, 3 piece work commissioned to artist Michael Parekowhai by the Queensland Government. The World Turns was designed for the anniversary of the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA), and Parekowhai was one of three shortlisted artists considered for a piece that was to enhance Queensland s national and international profile and become an emblem for the Australian gallery. • 5. Harry Harlow Research Papers The Well of Despair Pragya Chaturvedi Piedmont Governor s School for Mathematics, Science, and Technology The Well of Despair Harry Harlow conducted experiments on rhesus monkeys to research the nature of maternal love ( Harry Harlow, 2017). He used maternal deprivation and social isolation experiments to do so. The first experiment he conducted was to find out what kind of maternal care the monkeys needed to be normal; Harlow raised the infant monkeys with artificial mothers to see how different types of mothers would affect the monkeys growth and reaction. He used a variety of mothers to research the different preferences, and he thought that the ideal mother was a mother, soft, warm, and tender, a mother with infinite patience, a mother available 24 hours a day (Slater, 2008, n.pag.). He used two mothers in this experiment: one was made out of terrycloth and the other one was made out of wire ( Harry Harlow, 2017). The wire mother provided the monkeys with the materials the babies needed to survive, like milk and food. On ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He used equipment like the rape rack, iron maidens, and the well of despair which caused emotional trauma to the infants ( Harry Harlow, 2017). Rape rack was a forced mating device; the mothers who had their baby using this device were abusive to their children. These mothers were unable to form any kind of bond to their children because they were deprived of that themselves. Iron maidens were the surrogate mothers that tormented the monkeys by shooting sharp spikes, and cold air that was so forceful that the monkeys were thrown across the cages, clinging and screaming (Slater, 2004). Lastly, well of despair was where the monkeys were left in dark chambers for up to a year ( Harry Harlow, 2017). The infants that were left in isolation were very disturbed. Harlow tried very hard to reverse the depression using multiple kinds of therapy, but they all failed to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Views of Death and Loss in the Poems of Pablo Neruda and... Death has inspired poets across time and space, language barriers, and cultures allowing them to create transcendent works that resonate with many individuals. Two poets whose works incorporate the theme of death are Dylan Thomas (1914 1953), a Welsh poet and writer, and Pablo Neruda (1904 1973), a Chilean poet, diplomat, and politician. Thomas s Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, one of his most famous poems, focuses on Thomas s struggle to come to terms with his father s death. Neruda s poem, The Dead Woman focuses on the poets resolve to overcome the loss of the woman he loves. Both Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night and The Dead Woman demonstrate how each poet views death and how he is able to come to terms with the loss of a loved one. Thomas wrote Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night shortly before his father s death. In the poem, Thomas supplicates his father to fight against his instinct and desire to give in to death through various appeals. Thomas argues, Old age should burn and rave at close of day (Thomas 2). Through this statement, Thomas maintains that despite one s age, there is a desire to fight against death, whether because one is afraid to face the inevitable or because one wishes to live as long as they can. Thomas provides his father with various examples of different types of men, who despite their differences share a common goal. He describes how wise men who at their end know dark is right, Good men, the last wave by, crying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In my opinion, I would like to believe that we have free will because I would hope that my decisions are mine and not of some powerful overlord or an advanced civilization in a simulation. Over the years there have been many theories or speculations about free will. Some philosophers would define free will as the ability to do what we want to do . With this definition, we do have free will because most of the time we can do what we want. However, we could be made to believe that it is our choice, but if we were to repeat a scenario where you choose option A we would repeatedly pick option A because it could not happen any other way. • 9. The Importance Of Natural Disasters In Elementary Schools Summary Natural disasters occur frequently throughout the nation. As a state, New York may not be hit by similar disasters as the rest of the nation, but we should still be teaching young kids about the different natural disasters that can occur and how to properly prepare for them. Not only is it important for young children to know for their own safety, but we know they will be the ones to go home and tell their families about it. They will spread their knowledge about the safety guidelines when it comes to natural disasters, but to make them aware we must have a curriculum for emergency preparedness included in the classroom lessons for the year. Discussion Education is a valuable asset someone can have. We are taught a variety of information, some of which stays with us for the rest of our lives and other information that is temporarily learned for the purpose of a course. During elementary school, we are absorbing all types of new information from learning the alphabet to learning how to write a sentence. Through these years we are also taught basic fire safety skills, who to call in case of an emergency, and what to do in case of a fire alarm or lock down. However, we are never taught throughout our years of school, how to prepare for a disaster. It is during this time where we should implement a curriculum dedicated specifically to emergency preparedness for students. • 14. Analysis Of The Song My Beloved Is Mine In Canticle I, composed by Benjamin Britten, the song has been praised for its beautiful composition to its seventeenth century poem by Francis Quarles, entitled My beloved is mine . Britten has written this song for a high voice , with no specific type of a voice. Thus, this song could be sung by a tenor or a mezzo, although often times by a tenor. The poem, derived from the Song of Solomon, has seven stanzas in all. However, Britten has omitted the fourth stanza and combined the first and the second, and the last two stanzas to make a four movement song of this poem. This poem is unique in a sense that at the end of each stanza (with the exception of one), this poem concludes with So I my best beloved s am; so he is mine. Although the poem is said to be adapted from the Song of Solomon and thus the bible, Britten chose this specific poem to represent his personal relationship with the pianist who accompanied this very song, Peter Pears. In this paper, I will be looking at each movement carefully and how the text relates to the music Britten has composed. This song is clearly divided into four movements, along with the poem. The first movement is entitled Andante alla barcarola, and by definition, is a folk song sung by Venetian gondoliers. This movement contains the first two stanzas of the poem, and right away, we see the symbolism within the music by Britten. This first stanza specifically discusses of the metaphor of two streams (people) coming together to be one. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What is the cab rank principle ? The cab rank rule states that a lawyer practicing solely as a barrister must accept a brief in a field they profess to practice. In theory, this is an essential strength of the cab rank rule, however, in practice in may be redundant. This rationale is on the premise that the layperson is aware of the cab rank rule, a proposition that is far from the truth. In 2010, Brian Walters, a QC, was running for the Greens and his Labor opponent attacked him for once taking a brief for a brown coal company. The fact that a politician is not aware of the cab rank rule suggests that members of the general public would also be unaware of the rule, thereby denying barristers the protection the rule purports to give. Lastly, a barrister must refuse to accept a brief if they would be placed in a conflict of interest or would otherwise be detrimental to the administration of justice. Over the past period, there appeared several problems in the motorcycle assembly and production industry such as the mass, short sighted production, the lack of long term vision, the low quality of domestic products, the increasing traffic accidents and environmental pollution, the rampant infringement of intellectual property rights, the infringement of consumers interests, etc. Such matters must be continuously regulated to ensure the sustainable development of the industry and protect the interests of consumers, producers and the country. • 29. Pompeii Essay This will be a research report on Pompeii, how it was affected by the eruption of Vesuvius and how it was designed. Pompeii was a town in Italy and would soon to become disrupted by many disasters, and an even bigger event to follow. The eruption of Vesuvius would terrify shock and kill thousands of people living in the town, perhaps only a handful of townsfolk had survived that fateful day. Many tried to escape the ash, hiding in house corners, believing that they would be safe, or running towards the shores where boats were located, but the majority of people had died on that day. Pompeii, a medium sized town, was located about ninety miles south of Rome. Pompeii was founded in six hundred B.C. in front of Mount Vesuvius, which stood approximately six thousand, five hundred feet from the ground into the air. Apparently, nobody in the town was well aware that Vesuvius was an active volcano; they didn t even know that it was a volcano until the huge eruption of Vesuvius, leaving thousands to die. Pompeii is located on a plateau that was created by lava flow from volcanoes around the area, then hardening to create a rock substance. The city of Pompeii was built from north to south, Vesuvius being on the north end of the town. Vesuvius offered rich, fertile land that was suitable for growing healthy vegetation, then would be harvested and sorted out to eat later. Southwards of Pompeii gently flowed, the river of Sarnus, this river was very crucial towards the economic life ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As people we all have things that we want, and things that we need. This includes things like food, clothing, and shelter, but it is not limited to those things. In order to get those things, people have to spend money. The issue is that everything that people need and want costs money. More often than not, people do not have the money to do both so they have to decide which things are important for them to have right now. This does not only apply to families, but businesses as well. This paper will address different types of economics and some of the factors that contribute to its changes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Businesses will increase the production of goods and services that cost more money because they will be able to increase their profit margins. In the same way, when prices decrease they will scale back the production of those products because they will not be able to as much of a profit. Companies will always do what is best for them, and the number one reason for them being in business is to make money. What the consumer wants will always dictate they type and price of goods and services that are supplied. When a certain type of product comes out or starts to increase in sales it directly affects the market for that product or service. An example of this is when iPods came out and got very popular. The price of the product was high initially, but they were still selling very well. Apple increased its production because they were able to make greats profits from it. After this happened there was an influx of other mp3 players from a plethora of other electronics companies. Since they had new found competition, Apple was forced to lower the price of the item. Consumers still preferred the iPod over many of the other mp3 players on the market, and because of their presence, the iPod became much more affordable. • 35. Essay On White Americans When asked to validate a statement such as the one mentioned that references the disadvantages of minorities versus those of White Americans the three most significant obstacles, in my opinion, are employment, education, and crime. If you have a group of people who are subordinate in those three categories, you have individuals who are positively underprivileged. Let us begin with employment or joblessness. Unfortunately, socioeconomic status, income, employment, and unemployment are determined by some level of race and ethnicity. In the early 1980 s when low skilled jobs and high wage workers wandered out of the central portion of the city, therefore increasing space and inaccessibility to jobs, that was the beginning of employment trouble and social detachment. Even after managing for local conditions, there was still a sizable extensive employment disadvantage for blacks (D Amico Maxwell, 1995) As urban centralization increased and industry continued to move the high, and low wages/skills and minority migration to the inner cities intensified(D Amico Maxwell, 1995). It was this continued shift that left minorities reduced to an area that suffered from high rates of joblessness, welfare dependency, crime and single parent households. There was now an exclusion from job networks and confinement to poor quality schooling, which materialized into lousy working habits(D Amico Maxwell, 1995). Technology is way more advance in the millieum era then it was in the 1990 s so changing educational organizations should arrange with the advancement of the era. Educational organizations that are behind with advancement could possibly fail and not succeed with a lack of participants. The article also goes into detail about being able to come together and take intination in developing a plan to create change. When individuals want to implement change they have to develop not only a plan but also have resources and a committee or team. Therefore more then one idea or suggestion will make the plan worthwhile of pursuing. Individuals who would want change also have to reach out to stakeholders and politicians. • 37. Operation Anaconda Analysis Unity of Command Introduction Operation Anaconda took place in the Shahikot Valley of eastern Afghanistan. The mission began on March 2, 2001 and ended on March 16, 2001. A hammer and anvil attack, with 600 American and 400 Afghan troops, would rout, capture, or kill enemy forces. The operational timeline for a three day battle projecting light combat took fourteen days to complete. During Operation Anaconda, Unity of Command planning did not fully anticipate the need for additional forces, inducing a stall in operations on the battlefield, and negating a timely victory. Anticipation of Additional Forces In keeping with the U.S. intention to keep the footprint in Afghanistan small and allow the Afghans to do as much of the fighting as possible, TF DAGGER was directed to develop plans for an operation to clear out the Shahi Kot valley (Fleri, Howard, Hukill, Searle, 2003, p. 8). Ground combat operations in Afghanistan officially began on October 7, 2001 with small groups of Special Operations Forces Soldiers training and fighting alongside Northern Alliance troops. These small bands harried Taliban forces by calling directed air strikes and using bombers, cruise missiles, tactical fighters and AC 130 gunships. Mandela s ultimate success had to do with his character and background. Although he was born in a royal family, grew up in a divided region of South Africa between blacks and whites. He still managed to maintain a correct mindset to a path leading to success. You can come from a small surrounding and have a bigger triumph than someone who comes from a lot more, or it s the total opposite. One s background definitely has an impact on successful people. If it were a different person with a different background, hence the situation would have turned out differently. Many people are born already into an easier lifestyle because of the place their family has already had. Robert Oppenheimer was a smart guy who turned out to be successful with the support of his family and wealth. Oppenheimer didn t face the lifetime struggles, Lagan has. But he did suffer from depression and was emotionally unstable, which made sense as to why, Oppenheimer took some chemicals from the laboratory and tried to poison his tutor (Gladwell 98). The first instance is that any person is going to go to jail for any crime he or she did, no matter who they are or what reputation they hold. But for this case, Oppenheimer was taken out the hot seat and was not punished. I believe he was let out of the situation way too easily and it was odd for them to do.
