Team Definition Essay
Individual commitment to a group effort that is what makes a team work, a company work, a
society work, a civilization work ( Team Quotes ). This quote is from the famous football coach
Vince Lombardi, and it doesn t matter whether you re a Green Bay Packer fan or a Chicago Bear
fan. Everyone has to agree that Vince Lombardiknew about what it takes to be on a a team. Oxford
s Online Dictionary defines the word team as, a group of people who compete in a sport, game,
etc., against another group ( Team Definition ). While this definition and Lombardi s definition are
accurate, in my opinion, they are not complete. A team is so much more than a collection of
people working together with a similar goal. A team is a group of people who... Show more content

A team isn t just a group of people united in a common goal as Vince Lombardi stated. Just like a
family, a team learns and grows together. Winning or losing isn t as important as growing and
improving. My father always says that in tennis you can learn more from your losses than your
victories. This is true for life too. When your in a family, you learn so much from each other s
failures. You learn what to do and what not to do. You also learn how to be there for each other
when times get tough. This unites you as a family and brings you closer together. The same
thing happens on a team. When I was younger, I swam for the Marlins Swim team. We practiced
twice a day in the summer, and it was exhausting. Our coaches pushed us hard to get us ready for
the Conference Meet against our biggest rivals, the Normal Parks and Rec Sharks and the team
from Rob Knight. We all wanted to win so badly that we were willing to give up most of our
summer break to do laps in the pool at 6:00am. One of the boys on our team had special needs,
but he practiced hard just like anybody else. When it came time for the Conference Meet, our
head coach called a meeting and told us that he was putting this boy in several of the relays
because the boy going to have surgery at the end of summer and wouldn t be able to swim again
for a long time. I think our coach expected us to to argue or be

Johnny Cash: The Research Paper!
First off let me start off by saying Johnny Cash is one of the biggest legends ever. His music has
spanned Decades and has inspired many artist all over the country, and let s be honest, not many
artists can reach these standards. He has made a huge impact on Country, Rock and Roll, blues, and
many more genres of music. But he has also influenced the American culture through the use of his
own works, thus creating both a mixture of controversy and envy in his vast amounts of those who
have heard the tunes that belong to Cash. You may... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite Cash s heavy Drinking and devastating addiction to amphetamines, this frantic lapse of
behavior led to some of his best hits including many singles and various hits. Cash the Self
proclaimed, Man in black Stood for something, he stood for the less fortunate. Something he took
pride in, something that could be applied to the public s understanding of his Iconic status in
America and just another great reason as to why Cash achieves legendary.
Cash s final years really shined for him. Through the last breath of his creative works he was able
to release an amazing work of art, the album, American Recordings , produced by the also Iconic
Rick Rubin who has worked with various artists including Tom Petty, Red Hot Chilli Peppers,
etc. With the final years he was able to produce such records as Hurt a cover of the Nine Inch
Nails hit single, Lead singer Trent Rayznor stated that after cash had covered the initial hit it
really wasn t even his song anymore. Sadly, shortly after his final works were released Cash passed
away at the age of 73 on September 9th, 2003. Cash displayed a great amount of genius in his final
years that really show why he is still remembered today.
However with the passing of Johnny Cash, A legacy shadowed what was an amazing life of an
american icon. His rebellious image has cast an influence for many artist and has even been payed

Breaking Toothpick Experiment
The focus of this experiment to determine how breaking toothpicks/pop beads over time relates to
enzymes building up or breaking down substrates. It was then hypothesized that if the method of
breaking toothpicks changes, then the amount of toothpicks broken will decrease as it gets harder.
This hypothesis was supported by the data because it proves that as it grew harder to break the
toothpick, less would be broken over 90 seconds. These experiments demonstrate that as it becomes
more difficult for an enzymeto break down a substrate, it will take a greater amount of time for the
enzyme to its task. Throughout the experiment, the trends showed that when obstacles were in the
way of the enzyme it became more problematic to break down/build... Show more content on

It allows them to find analogies for processes in life. This lab was a reflection of how enzymes
react to substrates by building then up or breaking them down. Enzymes reduce the reaction of
building up and breaking down substrates without being affected by the change. The shape of an
enzyme determines to substrate, the material that controlled by the active site of the enzyme,
and it depicts how if it is built up/broken down. It does by completing a specific reaction process
for each substrate. The experimental groups that were modeled by hydrolysis reaction were
Experimental Groups 1 4 and the Inquiry Experiment. These trials displayed the enzyme
decomposing the substrate, the toothpicks; furthermore, it symbolized the chemical reaction of
the enzyme is breaking apart the substrate into smaller pieces. The condensation reaction was
demonstrated as well in Experimental Group 5 with pop beads; it is when monomers (the
simplest sub unit that cannot break down) build up to a polymer (a chain of monomers). This
was represented in Experimental Group 5 because the pop beads were individual monomers and
the enzyme had to create a polymer by connecting them. As stated before, the trend of data in
Experimental Group 3 showed that it having a lower rate of metabolism per second because the
shape of portrayed enzyme was altered. This displays how a denture enzyme reacts inside of a

Body Dysmorphia Essay
Body Dysmorphia Understanding and Overcoming Introduction Imagine looking in the mirror
and seeing exactly what you think you looked like. A large nose, acne prone skin, single eyelids,
and the list goes on. We all wish we could change that one imperfection we have. However, some
of us can accept it and carry on with our lives; not for sufferers of body dysmorphic disorder.
Learning about this really has hit me close to home; as according to the National Health Service
(NHS), having body dysmorphic disorder does not mean you are vain or self obsessed, as it can
be upsetting and have a big impact on your life. Therefore, I would like to share with you my
findings on what body dysmorphic disorder is, how social media plays an important role, and
how it can help alleviate the issue. BODY what The International OCD Foundation discovered
that about 1 in 50 of the general population suffers from body dysmorphic disorder. Body
dysmorphic disorder, or body dysmorphia, is a mental health condition where a person spends too
much time worrying the imperfections in their appearance. Anyone can have body dysmorphia, but
it is most common in teenagers and young adults. It is not known specifically what causes body
dysmorphia; but like many other mental illnesses, they may be a result from a combination of
causes such as, abnormalities... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Comparison of Madness and Sanity in Hamlet and Death of a...
Comparison of Madness and Sanity in Hamlet and Death of a Salesman Could anyone really
determine whether or not a person is mad or sane?
In William Shakespeare s Hamlet and Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman each of their two main
characters, Hamlet and Wily Loman, are put up to this question, but in each situation their so called
madness differs in the cause of them. The ways in which their madness affects their lives is proven
by three actions. These actions are neglecting their responsibilities, negatively influencing others,
and finally distracting themselves.
It is really never determined whether or not Hamlet and Willy are really mad, but there is some
good details that reflect it. Both characters were once ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He doesn t even realize that he is jeopardizing his life by not paying attention. Also Willy wants
so much more, but he doesn t even try to make it better. He escapes like a coward from the
present which is the easy way out. With once being in control and now losing it along with their
priorities, it is safe to determine that there is a bit of madness in them both. As a result of
neglecting their responsibilities, they negatively influence others around them in an indirect way.
Hamlet was a nice young man who was in love at one point. Now by letting everything such as
mother s incestuous relationship with Uncle Claudius and his father s death get to him, he turns
against everyone and becomes a loner. In the first scene he is shown, he is apart from the crowd.
Also once he worshipped his love
Ophelia and now he treats her as if she does not exist. As a result of this bad treatment, Ophelia
goes mad. Here s where all the trouble begins. Because of her madness, she dies by drowning, but
whether or not it is suicide is left up to the reader. After her suicide, everything comes tumbling
down. This begins the downfall of Hamlet. If he didn t treat her so badly she would not have died
and therefore other deaths would have been avoided. Willy also neglects the ones he loves. He
neglects their feelings, thoughts and also physically neglects them. Happy, his son, lacks a
relationship with his

How Did The Second Industrial Revolution Affect Society
The Second Industrial Revolution tremendously helped our society become what it is today. Before
it occurred, the universe was believed to work like a machine. It has reshaped society through the
different inventions and ideas that were made. The Second Industrial Revolution also had ideas and
inventions that hurt society. Although the Second Industrial Revolutionhas led to poor thoughts, it
has made our society extremely advanced because of new social thoughts, inventions made by
people, and different advances in human rights. The social classes and thoughts immensely changed
during the Second Industrial Revolution. Social Darwinism became more popular, racism and
feminism were invented and the lives of all different races and genders

The Observation Of A Four Year Old Malen.b
From birth to the toddler stage a child changes significantly from facial features, to walking and
sleeping much less during the day. At the age of four his vocabulary increases significantly, the
child can even put together sentences. They are like little people twith some sense of
independence. This paper will focus on the observation of a four year old male N.B conducted on
March 6, 2015 from 5:00 pm 5:30 pm and March 7, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 4:30. The paper will
provide examples of Piaget s theory, Vygotsky s theory as well as apply these examples to the
cognitive and development of the child.
Piaget s pre operational stage focuses on the use of symbols, language use, memory and
imagination to evaluate the child. During this stage it is noted that thinking is done in a
nonlogcial and nonreversible manner. For instance, N.B. used Lego s and hot wheel tracks to
build a make believe wall. He even placed some pillows on the carpet to mimic spiderman falling.
The child then took the spider man and began to run around the living room make noises and
using his hand as if he was throwing a web on the wall and swing from one side to the other.
When asked what he was doing, N.B. stated he was spider man and had to save the town. He
then pointed to where he had built a wall surrounding various objects. N.B then ran and jumped
over the wall and had a make believe fight with one of the action figures and stated he was saving
the day. This demonstrates make believe play which is a

[edit] Reduced risk of Alzheimer s disease
Several studies comparing moderate coffee drinkers (about 2 cups a day) with light coffee
drinkers (less than one cup a day) found that those who drank more coffee were significantly less
likely to develop Alzheimer s disease later in life. [2][3]
[edit] Reduced risk of gallstone disease
Drinking caffeinated coffee has been correlated with a lower incidence of gallstones and
gallbladder disease in both men[4] and women[5] in two studies performed by the Harvard School
of Public Health. A lessened risk was not seen in those who drank decaffeinated coffee.

Aside from keeping you alert and awake, coffee can also keep you young and fighting cancer. So,
continue reading for answers to some frequently asked questions about coffee and its antioxidants.
What are antioxidants?
Antioxidants are any vitamin or nutrient that can help prevent cancer or damage to the heart and
other tissues caused by free radicals. By neutralizing free radicals, they prevent cell degradation.
Antioxidant rich foods include blueberries, raspberries, dates, chocolate and, of course, coffee.
What type of antioxidants are in coffee?
The antioxidants found in coffee are called polyphenols. More specifically, the compound is
methylpridinium. The antioxidant isn t present in raw, green coffee beans, but is actually created
during the roasting process.
How much coffee is enough?
Research has shown that people who drink one to two coffees a day have half the risk of
developing liver cancer when compared to people who didn t drink coffee. Meanwhile, drinking 4
to 6 cups of coffee can reduce your risk for type 2 diabetes by as much as 50 percent.
However, despite the reduced risk for these diseases and other cancers, like oral, esophageal, and
pharyngeal cancer, doctors don t recommend you start drinking 10 cups a day. Coffee is still a
stimulant and a diuretic and if drunk in excess can cause heart problems, anxiety and possible
dangerously elevated blood pressure.
Can I get these antioxidants from other sources?

The Positive Impacts Of The 2010 World Cup s Impact On...
There is no doubt that sport has had a significant impact on various social landscapes.
This was evident during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, where many individuals from diverse walks of
life, displayed a sense of common national pride, unity and glory. The World Cup demonstrated how
soccer has the ability to bring together people from different races, ethnic backgrounds and cultures,
thus its ability to connect the world. Exquisitely said by Mr. Marthinus Van Schalkwyk, Minister of
tourism and South African tourism (2011). The World Cup was never about the hosting of a
tournament, but rather about building a legacy for our country and our continent... economic
growth, skills development, job creation, nation building.
To date, various interpretations exist on how the 2010 FIFA World Cupis capable of Nation
building, while many focus on the socio economic, the negative and positive impacts of the World
Cup. According to the research by the Human Science Research Council (HSRC) (2011) the 2010

Lab Report On Water Erosion
Erosion is materials such as rock and soil being removed by the force of weathering such as
water, wind, ice etc. Water erosion would be the main focus throughout this lab. Water Erosion
involves rock and soil being removed by any movements of water. An example would be the Grand
Canyon. It began in colorado, but due to colorado river it continue to grow deeper and cut into
Arizona. Water erosionoccurs into anything involving river banks, streams, seashores, and lastly
seaside cliffs. Throughout the year water erosion particularly happens during spring time due to
water showers and creates a great amount of water to create water erosion.
The occurrence of water erosion is divided into 6 different stages. Sheet erosion is lost of soil
between cultivated and uncultivated environments. Cultivate is essential a way to prepare land of
water overflowing. Than Rill erosion is surface water that involves to channelside to concentration
of water. Comes along Gully erosion which is an amount of soil getting removed by water. Splash
erosion will come next which is movement of soil being directly affected by splashing. Bank
erosion come next which is essentially wearing away for rivers and valleys.
Purpose:
The purpose of this experiment is to examine the impacts of water erosion on soil due to splashing.
Hyphothesis:
If the height of the water increases than the amount of soil erosion will increase because the speed
of water will create more pressure on the soil causing the

Computer Science That Has Evolved From Pattern Recognition...
Machine Learning is a sub discipline of Computer Science that has evolved from Pattern
Recognition and Computational Learning Theory. ML is akin to Data Mining in the sense that
both approaches look for patterns in the data set and while the former trains the program to better
its understanding, the latter focuses on extraction of data for human comprehension. A typical
application employing ML would involve the design and construction of an algorithm where the
program is trained through huge samples of historical data to create a model. This model is later
utilized on real time data sets to predict what happens next. While Machine Learningitself has been
around for decades, it has found itself into reckoning with the advent of Big... Show more content

Amazon Web ServicesS3 or Microsoft s Azure are few amongst the various cloud services
currently available that allow users to store massive amounts data at unbelievably low costs.
With massive data at disposal comes the huge potential to analyze this data to draw inferences or
predict future events. But why exactly is Machine Learning moving to the cloud? A compelling
reason to move to the cloud would be the varying computational requirements in the ML
lifecycle. The process of training/ retraining your model requires enormous computation power
and resources, while the process of utilizing your trained models does not require any resources.
The varying workload of the ML lifecycle makes it an ideal candidate for the cloud. Cloud
Computing is a powerful technology that allows complex computations on massive scale data
by eliminating the need to maintain dedicated storage space or maintain expensive hardware.
Also it follows intuitively to train your models in the cloud where the data is stored. Prior to the
advent of cloud based ML platforms, the only way to do advanced analytics was to purchase
packages such as SAS or IBM s SPSS or resort to tools like R. The cloud based platforms make
Machine Learning more accessible to a large group of users who intend to deploy predictive
models in order to enhance their products or services.

Analysis Of The Film Princess Mononoke
I selected the film Princess Mononoke from director Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. The
animated film consists of the genres action, adventure, fantasy, drama, and historical. Mamoru

The story begins when a prince named Ashitaka had gotten cursed with pain and death on his

Congress Review Act Analysis
With Republican President, Donald Trump, and the Republican Party holding the majority of both
chambers of the 115th Congress, passing environmental protection legislation doesn t seem to be a
priority (or even a thought). Not only are Congress and the President ignoring environmental
protection, but they have also worked together to reverse current environmental protection
regulations. Normally, repealing any form of legislation is a lengthy and challenging task.
However, during the spring of 2017, the Legislative and Executive branches were able to quickly
and easily get rid of two environmental protection rules. This ease of change definitively had do
with the legislation being bureaucratic agency rules and laws. Though, not only were... Show more

Additionally, the intent of the procedure is pretty pointless because the president could just
override an agency rule. Though, because the tool is meant for Congress but has a road block of
the presidency, this Congressional tool has barely left the toolbox. In fact, it has only worked
one time before 2017 (Feller). However, since Trump was sworn into office, the CRA has
resurfaced. When a political party takes over the Presidency with control of both Congressional
chambers this device can be very affective. Because the CRA allows the 60 day disapproval
window, many of Obama s midnight regulations were at risk of being overturned. Specifically, in
the Congress and Trump were able to roll back 14 out of the 15 Obama regulations that fell into
the 60 day window (Larkin). The Stream Protection Act was one of these 14 disapprovals that
was passed in the spring of 2017. In December of 2016, the Federal Office of Surface Mining
Reclamation and Enforcement issued a regulation requiring coal companies to monitor water
quality near mines. Specifically, the rule established a buffer zone rule, blocking mining within
100 feet of streams. In general, the rule put stricter regulations on coal mining companies in
efforts to reduce pollution and preserve natural resources (Feller). This rule was in effect for a
very short period before the new President and Congress changed it. This rule disapproval was

Essay on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was probably the greatest genius in Western musical history. He was
born in Salzberg, Austria on January 27, 1756. The son of Leopold Mozart and his wife Anna
Maria Pertl. Leopold was a successful composer and violinist and assistant concertmaster at the
Salzberg court.
At the age of three, Wolfgang showed signs of remarkable musical talent. He learned to play the
harpsichord, a keyboard instrument related to the piano, at the age of four. Wolfgang began
composing minuets at the age of five. When he was only six years old, he and his older sister,
Anna Maria, embarked on a series of concert tours to Europe s courts and major cities. They played

Several of his twenty two operas gained worldwide recognition soon after his death, and they
still please audiences all over the world. The Marriage of Figaro (1786) and Don Giovanni
(1787) are operas he composed with words in Italian. The Magic Flute (1791) has German words.
Each of these contains arias (beautiful melodies for singers), recitative (Rapidly sung dialogue),
ensembles in which several people sing at the same time, and choruses. The orchestra provides an
ever changing expressive accompaniment. The drama ranges from comedy to tragedy. Mozart wrote
over forty symphonies, many of which are performed today. Some originally were overtures
(orchestral introductions) for operas, and last only a few minutes. His later symphonies, which are
the most popular, are full length orchestral compositions that last twenty to thirty minutes. Most of
them consist of four sections. Mozart s last and most famous symphony, Number 41 (1788), is
nicknamed the Jupiter.
Mozart composed a great amount of church music, most of it for performance at the Salzburg
Cathedral. He wrote Masses and shorter pieces called motets; and he set psalms to music,
especially for the afternoon or evening service. The music is beautiful and varied. It includes
choral and solo parts, usually with accompaniment by organ and orchestra. Mozart s best known
sacred work is the Requiem (Mass for the Dead). He began it in the last year of his life and

Air defense artillery is our first and final line of defense against aerial attack. Since World War I.
Before air defense was established men and women faced an airborne threat in a technology
driven ever changing world. This forced progression of military power brought a then need for
air defense artillery, which will come to be its own branch in later years. The need for our branch
to combat a constant threat is met by American soldiers that have been trained proficiently in their

What is the Statue of Zeus at Olympia?
The Statue of Zeus at Olympia is considered one of the Seven Wonders or the Ancient World. The
wonder depicted the likeness of the Greek god Zeus, whom was regarded as one of the most
important and powerful gods within Greek mythology. The statue was seven times the height of the
average male, it would have been the one of the tallest statues in the Mediterranean world. The
Statue of Zeus at Olympia was the statue that was honored in the first Olympic Games.

The temple was constructed by Libon, a famous architect of the time, in the classic Doric style.
The Greeks of the time didn t believe that the temple alone was enough to appease Zeus so they
commissioned a statue to be erected in the temple to honor the god.
The Statue of Zeus was created in 430 BC by the Greek sculptor Phidias. Phidias is highly
regarded as the most famous sculptor in ancient Greece. The statue took years to complete and is
included as one of his two great masterpieces with the other masterpiece being the statue of Athena
in the Parthenon.
The statue measured 13m tall (42 feet), 6m wide (21 feet), and had a perimeter of 13m (43 feet).
The statue was constructed from a wooden frame that was covered in expensive materials for
the time. These materials included: gold, ebony, ivory, silver, and precious stones. Historical
accounts say that his hair and beard were made from gold and that his unclothed flesh was
rendered in ivory. His sandals and robe were constructed from gold. The stool beneath his feet
were upheld by two golden lions. In his left hand he held a scepter that gave him dominion over
the Earth. In order to keep the ivory from cracking, the statue had to be anointed with olive oil,
which was used to clean the statue every

John Locke, an English philosopher, also known as the father of Classical Liberalism, said in
1690 from Two Treatises on Government ; [On the state of nature] To understand political power
aright, and derive it from its original, we must consider what estate all men are naturally in, and
that is, a state of perfect freedom to order their actions, and dispose of their possessions and
persons as they think fit, within the bounds of the law of Nature, without asking leave or
depending upon the will of any other man (...) We derive from this that men are all equal and we
should not expect political power to be understood right if we do not realize that men are equal in
all Estates. With Estates, the laws of nature won t be heard and it is not naturally human to build up
Estates in a country. This excerpt also has a lot to do with the rights of men and especially the
Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen. This will be discussed later on in the Essay. The birth of
the Enlightenment happened during the 18th Century and it emerged from Europe as an
intellectual movement of writers and thinkers questioning and challenging the ideas and views that
at the time was widely accepted. Especially the Catholic Church was challenged for its traditional
and determined values. Their analysis of society was based on reason and rational thoughts rather

Timeless Literature Project
Earlier this year I was assigned the Timeless Literature Project. I went straight to my mom and
asked what book she recommended I read, she told me to read Lord of the Flies. Now that I ve
read it and spoken to her many times about the book, I d like to share some thoughts that we
generated in our final discussion. We spoke about how the Cold War was a major influence in
my mom s life and how she thought that the book was set in that time. I talked about how I
could relate Ralph s losing of innocence. We both agreed that this story can be applied in areas of
today s culture such as my mother s pre school class, the turmoil in the middle east, or even
Langston Hughes Middle School. The overarching question we had was if all of this anarchy,...

However, I greatly enjoyed reading the book and got a lot out of it. For one thing, recreations of
this story can be seen everywhere in society and in my life, I don t think I ll see the world
through the same lens. I thought that Ralph was a very relatable character, in that he only asked
the boys to do one thing (keep the fire going) and they wouldn t listen. I find myself in that
situation quite often. Lord of the Flies was a relatively short and fast paced book, so my mom hit
that right on the nose, but the recommendation was a little bit advanced for my reading level.
Nevertheless, I could still understand the main points and themes. I deem this book timeless
because of it s unique ability to explain the dark desires of human nature in a way that applies to
everyone. My discussion with my mom was awkward at first, but as we got into the groove of
things I learned a lot about her and gained a whole new perspective on the book. I recommend this
book to a peer with a greater reading ability than me, and a better grasp on the themes of life
because having that deeper understanding of literature and human existence would only enhance
the reader s experience with Lord of the

Health Issues Of Health Care
Health Issue: Access to Health Services
The advancement of medical technology and knowledge has extended human lifetimes and
increased the quality of life. Vaccinations, routine screenings, pharmaceuticals, and imaging
technology have allowed mothers to have healthier babies, children to avoid missing school due to
illness, and seniors to enjoy the company of their grandchildren. The advantages of health care are
numerous, but there are those are not able to reap its benefits. All around the world, and in the
United States, there are many that are unable to access health services and receive care.
The Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured reports that there were 32 million
uninsured Americans in 2014 (Henry J. Kaiser Family ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Problems with accessing health care services affect populations in the United States
disproportionately (Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, 2014). According to the
Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, 4.5% of the United States population on
whole in 2011 experienced difficulty obtaining necessary medical care. Those who identified
with two or more races had a higher rate of 4.5%. This rate is even higher when considering
family income. Of persons whose family incomes were below the Poverty Threshold, 7.0% were
unable to obtain or were delayed in obtaining necessary medical care. For comparison purposes, the
prevalence was only 3.0% among those who have an income that is 600% of the Poverty Threshold.
This health issue needs to be addressed because certain groups, like those mentioned previously,
are disproportionately represented among those who have health access problems. According
National Healthcare Quality and Disparity Reports (NHQR), this is a concern because access to
health services is the most significant contributing factor to poor quality of care (NHQR, 2014).
Limited access to health care and poor health impact individuals because it can be a barrier to
achieving full potential and can negatively affect quality of life. Health insurance is an aspect of
getting patients into the health care system. Uninsured patients may face a larger burden from
medical bills, and they also place a

In preparing for my quantitative research I reviewed three articles relating to the wellbeing of the
milspouse. The first article, Military Deployment and the Spouse Left Behind , Asbury and Martin
(2011) included both male and female milspouses who were civilians or they were active duty
personnel themselves. They gathered their data via a voluntary online survey which measured the
spouses depression, anxiety, perceived social support, and marital discord. They focused on the
differences between the civilian milspouses and the military milspouses and hypothesized that the
military milspouses would experience more depression, have higher rates of anxiety, experience
higher rates of isolation and marital discord than their civilian counter parts. They found no
significant difference between the groups in depression, anxiety, or perception of social support.
They did discover in the marital discord findings there was a significant statistical differences
between participants with a spouse in the military and the participants with civilian a spouse. The
results showed that participants with military spouses had more marital discord being that 80% of
the military milspouses and only 17% of the civilian milspouses had frequently considered divorce.

Identifying Human Hair and Animal Fair by Laser Diffraction
1. Introduction:
1.1 Overview
The ability to identify an animal by examining its fur is a useful one for taxonomists and
biologists. The hair of prey is often not digested by a predator, and so can be found in the
predators scat and measured to ascertain its diet (Anwar et al., 2011). An electron microscope can
be used to obtain a lot of data from hair, including its width and the shape and texture of its
surface, however electron microscopes are expensive and time consuming to operate (Sessions et
al., 2009). Lasers are much cheaper and can be used to easily measure the width of narrow objects
by measuring the interference pattern created when laser light is diffracted around the object. As a
result, laser diffraction may be a more preferable method for identifying hairs based on their width.
This experiment hopes to show that laser diffraction is an accurate enough method for obtaining the
width of narrow objects, such as animal and human hairs, to allow comparison between them.
1.2 Wave interactions
1.2.1 Diffraction:
Diffraction is a physical phenomenon that occurs when waves encounter an obstacle or gap
between obstacles. Depending on the wavelength of the wave and the size of the obstacle or gap
waves bend and spread out. Waves tend to diffract more around objects or gaps of a similar size
to their wavelength. How a wave will diffract when it meets an object can be modelled using
Huygen s construction. Huygen s construction is based on Huygen s principle of light

In most cases, innocence is linked to purity or the fact of being innocent from an offence. Me

was beating Fatma with the coffee grinder, and Fatma was howling with pain. Farag s wife was
screaming... The neighbour s wives were screaming too, while everyone else from inside and
outside the house rushed to hold him back, in vain (Idris 65). She became traumatized, due to the
violent actions her brother inflicted on her. It also caused her to resent and lose her innocence.
Another example would be, And she would shake herself free of his grip and stand in the corner
of the room rearranging her hair, with her lovely eyes looking straight at him defiant, unflinching
and unabashed (Idris 66). This helps the reader notice the change of attitude and actions towards
her brother. She has become braver as a result of suffering and losing her

Ancient Greek Culture
What is your impression of the ancient Greeks who composed these stories? What
generalizations might you make about their culture? Based on these stories I can assume they
highly value the arts, music, drama, poetry, and more. This is because the Greek people and
gods tended to favor those who show skill and interest in at least one of these fields, Orpheus and
Odysseus being an example. The importance of the arts is also demonstrated by the prominent role
the Muses and their children have in the myths. The Greeks also seem to value humility and
respect, since many of their stories feature the downfall of those who give in to hubris. Those who
demonstrate extreme pride are swiftly reminded of their place, like Niobe and Bellerophon. The

The Adaptive Nature Of Canada
The Adaptive Nature of Canada?s First People
The Canadian people have always prided themselves as champions of democracy and are
universally respected for their record on human rights. Although holistically this could be argued,
especially when compared to the United States and other Western states, the record concerning
Aboriginals, both past and present, has yet to live up to their self set standard. Defined simply as
anyone who traces his/her ancestry back to pre European colonization, there exist mass diversity
within its community. Although various political actors dispute the actual number of Aboriginals,
Statistics Canada reported in 2006 that 1,678,200 people indicated they were ethnically Aboriginal
or roughly 5.4 percent of the population (Statistics Canada: Population Counts). It has been the goal
of the Natives to regain sovereignty since it was stripped from them in the sixteenth century. Pushed
to the margins in all aspects of life from negligible political relevance in Ottawa to the isolation they
continue to experience on the remote reserves, the Aboriginal people have had their humanity
sapped continuously out of them, yet have never given up hope. The minute advances in the last
several decades? stand in stark contrast to repression experienced for centuries. Weathering an
intensely exploitive government, Aboriginals have endured unimaginable repression. It was not
until the passage of the Constitution Act, specifically the Charter of Rights and

The Military Coup In Honduras
The military coup was launched by the country s handful of ultra wealthy families who control
most of the nation s economy. Thousands of Hondurans protested the coup, but they were
physically beaten by the Honduran military. It was an indicative onset as the coup launched a
dramatic shift towards brutal fascism under the Pepe Lobo administration. Honduras had a serious
problem with violence and corruption long before Lobo took over, but his response made the
problems much worse by militarizing the police force. The former Police Commissioner MarГa
Luisa Borjas admitted, It s scarier to meet up with five police officers on the streets than five gang
members. Mind you, Honduras has by far highest murder rate in the world with gang violence...

Thus, the human rights record of the HernГЎndez administration has been even worse than Lobo s.
As a result, politically motivated violence has seemingly increased. In fact, the former leader of a
Honduran police death squad and SOA graduate, Juan Carlos El Tigre Bonilla, was hired as the
national police chief. With Bonilla at the helm, the Associated Press reported in 2013 about roughly
150 murders by state sponsored death squads in the capital city alone with more in the surrounding
areas. It has been made clear to the State Department that no units under General Bonilla s control
should receive U.S. assistance without credible information refuting the serious allegations against
him, said Sen. Patrick Leahy (D VT). Yet, the Obama administration has supported the HernГЎndez
administration and offered further economic assistance to Honduras. This is an obvious unspoken
message to the rest of the world, particularly Latin America. The U.S. will support your regime as
long as you re a military and economic

Cross tattoos for men are one of the top ten most popular tattoo designs worn by bearers. Among
them are angels, flowers and zodiac. When choosing a permanent tattoo, you should always

seriously accept it for the rest of your life. There are many designs of cross tattoos for men. The
big question has always been which kind of cross tattoo should one get. Your decision of course,
mainly depends on your belief and character. The cross is a symbolical shape to so many religious
sectors, spiritual groups and other tribes. Well, I ve narrowed the choices down to these four

Outsider In To Kill A Mockingbird
Discuss the theme of an oustider in Silas Marner and To Kill a
Mockingbird.
What is an outsider? The dictionary defines that an outsider is a person excluded from a group.
The outsider plays an important part in both novels. In Silas Marner by George Eliot Silas is the
main outsider, however in To Kill a Mockingbirdby Harper Lee even though
Boo is the obvious outsider there are many others.
Silas Marner is written by George Eliot, which is the pen name of
Mary Ann Evans. She had to change her name to a man s name to avoid facing prejudice, as it
was not seen proper for a lady to write books, this also makes her an outsider. Due to this she could
be more sympathetic with outsiders, this could have influenced her to ... Show more content on

To Kill a Mockingbird is set in a town called Maycomb in Alabama. It is written in the 1950 s but
is set in 1933 1935. At the time it was set and at the time it was written there was a lot of prejudice
against black people in America, especially in the southern states.
The 1930 s were also the time of the depression, which meant that many people had gone
bankrupt. The Jim Crow laws were also still in motion, which created a segregation of white and
black people. In the 1950 s civil rights were important in the U.S.A as black people were fighting
for them. It was also the time when the majority of white males were members or sympathisers of
the Ku Klux Klan. This adds to the theme of an outsider in this book, because one of the outsiders
Tom Robinson is the victim of racial prejudice.
Both novels are set thirty years before they are written and both are a hundred years apart. This
shows that prejudice is constantly around.
In the town of Maycomb hierarchy makes outsiders of people. The Finchs are regarded as southern
aristocracy but later become outsiders because Atticus defends Tom Robinson. The Radleys are
outsiders because they are so conspicuous and secretive. The Cunninghams and the
Ewells have both been bankrupt due to the depression. However the
Cunninghams faced it bravely where as the Ewells became dishonest and depraved. They are the
white trash of the society, which makes them
outsiders.

As a long time user of PRICE for estimates of hardware components just part of entire system
bids it was easy to discuss his broader vision with PRICEВ® Systems International. PRICE
provides us with more than your typical vendor/customer relationship; we work closely together in
a real partnership, says Manuel. When we wanted to verify cost estimates for all bid processes that
go into proposals, they listened, understood and collaborated with us on precisely what we wanted
to achieve with an integrated Cost Estimation Framework. Manuel s vision for the CEF was to not
disrupt bid processes that were already familiar and comfortable to estimation teams, but rather to
add better direction at the early stages of a project, improve data sharing, and verify bottom up
estimates against pre defined top down cost targets. The CEF introduces tools and methods for
Airbus existing estimation specialists without changing their processes. Integrating Parametric and
Bottom Up Estimating Tools Across a project s life cycle, the CEF in effect synthesizes three
costing methods: analytic, similarity and parametric. Key tools include ProMo+ from IAES
Company for database management; QDV from Quotalys Ltd for managing analytical estimates

The Indian Resturant near Syracuse
Restaurants were first established in France (Davis, 2004). In Syracuse, there are a variety of
restaurants that represents different cultures .The idea of restaurants is to help the people and
especially the travelers to discover more about a culture. Restaurants are one of the crucial
elements to take in account when talking about cultures. They are one of the strong representatives
of a culture. Therefore, for a restaurant to be a good representative of a culture, it should have at
least several strong categories that can make it a good representative of a certain culture. The Indian
Restaurant that will be evaluated has many strong categories and some that are weaker.
The Indian Restaurant has many strong categories that represent the good side, such as, the
location, the food, and the price. It is conveniently located next to the Marshal Street, which is the
restaurants road in the main campus of Syracuse University. Thus, Students and teachers who
want to eat, it would be more reasonable to eat at one of the restaurants located there rather than
driving to somewhere to eat especially if they have a following class. Furthermore, there is
many ways of transportation to go to the main campus, such as, buses, cars, and bikes which
make it easier for everyone to go there. The food is also one of the strongest categories as well. The
Indian Restaurant provides many famous kinds of spices and it is known for its hot spices. The
quality of the food is very good compared

The Mystical State Is Not Easily Achieved
In this dimension, the mystical state is not easily achieved. Furthermore, when it is achieved, it is
through ways which are used purposely, such as drugs. In the story The Willows, however, the
mystical state is achieved without purpose and without a want. This story provides many moments
in which the characters experience the mystical state. In the story, The Willows, the narrator
experiences a sighting of huge un human figures which results in awe and worship from the
narrator. Also in the story, The Willows, the narrator and his companion hear a gong like sound all
throughout the island which results in fear and knowledge. The story The Willows, represents the
sublime through the flood and the willows which has caused this story to progress as the gothic
genre has progressed. In the story, The Willows, the narrator experiences a sighting of huge un
human figures which results in awe and worship from the narrator. In the very beginning of
daylight hours, the narrator wakes up feeling very troubled. Therefore, he looks outside of the tent.
Then, he notices monstrous figures among the willows. The narrator states, They first became
properly visible, these huge figures, just within the tops of the bushes immense, bronze colored,
moving, and wholly independent of the swaying of the branches. I saw them plainly and noted, now
I came to examine them more calmly, that they were very much larger than human, and indeed that

Essay Tsarism in Russia
Tsarism in Russia
Although the 1905 Revolution did not bring Tsarism to its demise, it had important consequences
on Tsarism. It illuminates the problems of Russian society and exposed the government s
weaknesses. Nevertheless, the Tsar managed to suppress his opponents and appeased the masses,
saving his regimes from collapse. However, this security was only temporarily as the root of Russia
s problems were not solved and WWI in 1914 was the last straw for the decaying regime. Hence, I
agree with the statement to a large extent.
The inherent problems in Russian society were never dealt with properly by the Tsar. The peasants
suffered from the problem of land hunger, the workers had poor ... Show more content on

By the October Manifesto, the Tsar allowed the formation of an elected legislative assembly, the
Duma. Technically, this would mean that the Tsar had to share his autocratic power with his people
and by inviting opposition into the government, he may be endangering his status. However, this
was not the case. Ironically, it helped strengthened the Tsar s power. The forming of the Duma
appeased the liberals and satisfied their appetite for reforms, hence they are willing to cooperate
with the Tsar rather than confront Tsarism directly. In addition, the Duma did not reduce the Tsar
s power. Not only did the Duma had limited powers to begin with, it was subjected to the whims
and fancy if the Tsar. The Tsar could dissolve the Duma should he not like their proposals and
they could only give suggestions to the Tsar. The Fundamental Laws passed in April 1906 decreed
theta the Tsar had absolute power and the last say in all matters, hence, the Tsar had not lose any of
his power and with his absolute authority, he could do all that he can to secure his rule.
The Tsar bought over the peasants by the November Manifesto in which he pledged to
progressively reduce and then abolish the mortgage repayments of their lands. Economic reforms

The Play “A Midsummer Night’S Dream” By William
Shakespeare
The play A Midsummer Night s Dream by William Shakespeare offers a wonderful contrast in
human mentality. Shakespeare provides insight into man s conflict with the rational versus
emotional characteristics of human behavior. Athens represents the logical side, with its
flourishing government and society. The fairy woods represents the wilder, irrational side where
nothing seems to follow any sort of structure. The character of Bottom the weaver is a direct
reflection of these two worlds. He brings the rational and irrational elements of the play together in
several ways. Nick Bottom is indeed one of Shakespeare s most memorable creations. He is first
introduced during the casting of Pyramus and Thisbe (1.2.253). Bottom is... Show more content on

Here he gives us insight into his own personality and almost seems to mock those in love. When
he says let the audience look to their eyes (1.2.20), he is directly touching on one of the themes
in the play: the use of one s eyes in love, which according to Bottom means that people do not use
their heads when in love and that it is an emotion merely based on superficialities. Whatever the
case may be, it is obvious that he is much more of a lover than a tyrant. Bottom proceeds to show
however, that one can love and be a tyrant at the same time. When he is transformed into the ass
and shares Titania s bower, it shows his marvelous adaptability to adapt immediately to whatever
life offers him. His energetic love of life, good nature and eager innocence obtains him this
entrance into the other world so different from his own. Perhaps he is not completely incapable
of feeling or understanding love. Starting from his position as a rock bottom realist, he can, with
the same vigor and joy he brings to whatever he does, respond to this power and believe. The
fantastically transformed Bottom, the least likely candidate for the position in the world before
his transformation, becomes a participator in the fairy world in the incredible role of being
Titania s lover. But we see thus that it was possible after all. He can, in sum, be both a lover and a
tyrant yet he knows that being in

On The Social Order And Absolute Monarchy In The 16th And...
During the 16th and 17th centuries it is clear and evident that the centralization of power, or the
absolutism in and hierarchy, does in fact induce stability in society, however, it is also evident
via the given readings that absolutism also had its flaws which were later proved to be its
downfall. It essentially all boils down a single concept of the people versus government. This is
evident in the history of the French prior and leading up to the RГ©volution. In addition to, the
monarchy of the English under King James VI and I s rule. As complicated as the nature of
government is, when power or authority is concentrated excessively into a single point, the
society will crack by that very same point if a healthy relationship between citizen and ruler is
not established. One cannot expect to bully and undermine one s citizens without considering the
possibility that one day they will rise up against him or her and religious masks can only be
worn for so long before people recognize the hypocrisies present within them. Both of these truths
are evident as seen in the given texts. Specifically, with The Great Cat Massacre, On The Social
Order and Absolute Monarchy, by Jean Domat, and Trew Law of Free Monarchies, King James VI
I. As previously stated absolutism although effective, to an extent, also possesses its flaws of
religious gerrymandering and hypocrisy. Now while these are both somewhat broad terms, these
will be explained through the immersion of both the

National Parks Overcrowding
In 2016, according to a National Public Radio report, national parks had a record of 305 million
people who had visited them. (Siegler). This number will continue to grow as years go by
creating the national parks to be more overcrowded. It has become a controversial issue whether to
put a limit of how many people can enter or not into the National Parks. But if the National Park
Servicedoesn t put a limit on how many people can be in these parks, there may not be parks
preserved for future generations.
As overcrowding is becoming an issue in national parks, we need to take in consideration how
traffic and air pollution is playing a role as well. According to the National Public Radio, they said
that the Zion National Park, About 15 years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

boardwalks, making their own trails, throwing stuff into hot springs, or driving off roads and

trails on the ground because they aren t walking on the boardwalks. There has to be a limit on
how many people are allowed into the park. If the NPS keeps allowing a vast number of people
to come in, there will be nothing left because the people are destroying the natural resources.
However, there are agencies promoting National Parks so people can go and visit their national
parks in their states. For example, the Utah Office of Tourism is advertising for people to go and
visit the Mighty Five parks, which consists of: Zion, Arches, Canyonlands, Bryce, and Capitol
Reef. As they are advertising these five parks, it creates for people to make these bucket lists to

  • 2. Team Definition Essay Individual commitment to a group effort that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work ( Team Quotes ). This quote is from the famous football coach Vince Lombardi, and it doesn t matter whether you re a Green Bay Packer fan or a Chicago Bear fan. Everyone has to agree that Vince Lombardiknew about what it takes to be on a a team. Oxford s Online Dictionary defines the word team as, a group of people who compete in a sport, game, etc., against another group ( Team Definition ). While this definition and Lombardi s definition are accurate, in my opinion, they are not complete. A team is so much more than a collection of people working together with a similar goal. A team is a group of people who... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A team isn t just a group of people united in a common goal as Vince Lombardi stated. Just like a family, a team learns and grows together. Winning or losing isn t as important as growing and improving. My father always says that in tennis you can learn more from your losses than your victories. This is true for life too. When your in a family, you learn so much from each other s failures. You learn what to do and what not to do. You also learn how to be there for each other when times get tough. This unites you as a family and brings you closer together. The same thing happens on a team. When I was younger, I swam for the Marlins Swim team. We practiced twice a day in the summer, and it was exhausting. Our coaches pushed us hard to get us ready for the Conference Meet against our biggest rivals, the Normal Parks and Rec Sharks and the team from Rob Knight. We all wanted to win so badly that we were willing to give up most of our summer break to do laps in the pool at 6:00am. One of the boys on our team had special needs, but he practiced hard just like anybody else. When it came time for the Conference Meet, our head coach called a meeting and told us that he was putting this boy in several of the relays because the boy going to have surgery at the end of summer and wouldn t be able to swim again for a long time. I think our coach expected us to to argue or be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Breaking Toothpick Experiment The focus of this experiment to determine how breaking toothpicks/pop beads over time relates to enzymes building up or breaking down substrates. It was then hypothesized that if the method of breaking toothpicks changes, then the amount of toothpicks broken will decrease as it gets harder. This hypothesis was supported by the data because it proves that as it grew harder to break the toothpick, less would be broken over 90 seconds. These experiments demonstrate that as it becomes more difficult for an enzymeto break down a substrate, it will take a greater amount of time for the enzyme to its task. Throughout the experiment, the trends showed that when obstacles were in the way of the enzyme it became more problematic to break down/build... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It allows them to find analogies for processes in life. This lab was a reflection of how enzymes react to substrates by building then up or breaking them down. Enzymes reduce the reaction of building up and breaking down substrates without being affected by the change. The shape of an enzyme determines to substrate, the material that controlled by the active site of the enzyme, and it depicts how if it is built up/broken down. It does by completing a specific reaction process for each substrate. The experimental groups that were modeled by hydrolysis reaction were Experimental Groups 1 4 and the Inquiry Experiment. These trials displayed the enzyme decomposing the substrate, the toothpicks; furthermore, it symbolized the chemical reaction of the enzyme is breaking apart the substrate into smaller pieces. The condensation reaction was demonstrated as well in Experimental Group 5 with pop beads; it is when monomers (the simplest sub unit that cannot break down) build up to a polymer (a chain of monomers). This was represented in Experimental Group 5 because the pop beads were individual monomers and the enzyme had to create a polymer by connecting them. As stated before, the trend of data in Experimental Group 3 showed that it having a lower rate of metabolism per second because the shape of portrayed enzyme was altered. This displays how a denture enzyme reacts inside of a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A large nose, acne prone skin, single eyelids, and the list goes on. We all wish we could change that one imperfection we have. However, some of us can accept it and carry on with our lives; not for sufferers of body dysmorphic disorder. In William Shakespeare s Hamlet and Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman each of their two main characters, Hamlet and Wily Loman, are put up to this question, but in each situation their so called madness differs in the cause of them. The ways in which their madness affects their lives is proven by three actions. These actions are neglecting their responsibilities, negatively influencing others, and finally distracting themselves. He doesn t even realize that he is jeopardizing his life by not paying attention. Also Willy wants so much more, but he doesn t even try to make it better. He escapes like a coward from the present which is the easy way out. With once being in control and now losing it along with their priorities, it is safe to determine that there is a bit of madness in them both. As a result of neglecting their responsibilities, they negatively influence others around them in an indirect way. Hamlet was a nice young man who was in love at one point. Now by letting everything such as mother s incestuous relationship with Uncle Claudius and his father s death get to him, he turns against everyone and becomes a loner. In the first scene he is shown, he is apart from the crowd. Also once he worshipped his love Ophelia and now he treats her as if she does not exist. As a result of this bad treatment, Ophelia goes mad. Here s where all the trouble begins. Because of her madness, she dies by drowning, but whether or not it is suicide is left up to the reader. After her suicide, everything comes tumbling down. This begins the downfall of Hamlet. If he didn t treat her so badly she would not have died and therefore other deaths would have been avoided. Willy also neglects the ones he loves. He neglects their feelings, thoughts and also physically neglects them. Happy, his son, lacks a relationship with his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Computer Science That Has Evolved From Pattern Recognition... Machine Learning is a sub discipline of Computer Science that has evolved from Pattern Recognition and Computational Learning Theory. ML is akin to Data Mining in the sense that both approaches look for patterns in the data set and while the former trains the program to better its understanding, the latter focuses on extraction of data for human comprehension. A typical application employing ML would involve the design and construction of an algorithm where the program is trained through huge samples of historical data to create a model. This model is later utilized on real time data sets to predict what happens next. While Machine Learningitself has been around for decades, it has found itself into reckoning with the advent of Big... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Amazon Web ServicesS3 or Microsoft s Azure are few amongst the various cloud services currently available that allow users to store massive amounts data at unbelievably low costs. With massive data at disposal comes the huge potential to analyze this data to draw inferences or predict future events. But why exactly is Machine Learning moving to the cloud? A compelling reason to move to the cloud would be the varying computational requirements in the ML lifecycle. The process of training/ retraining your model requires enormous computation power and resources, while the process of utilizing your trained models does not require any resources. The varying workload of the ML lifecycle makes it an ideal candidate for the cloud. Cloud Computing is a powerful technology that allows complex computations on massive scale data by eliminating the need to maintain dedicated storage space or maintain expensive hardware. Also it follows intuitively to train your models in the cloud where the data is stored. Prior to the advent of cloud based ML platforms, the only way to do advanced analytics was to purchase packages such as SAS or IBM s SPSS or resort to tools like R. The cloud based platforms make Machine Learning more accessible to a large group of users who intend to deploy predictive models in order to enhance their products or services. The animated film consists of the genres action, adventure, fantasy, drama, and historical. • 35. Identifying Human Hair and Animal Fair by Laser Diffraction 1. Introduction: 1.1 Overview The ability to identify an animal by examining its fur is a useful one for taxonomists and biologists. The hair of prey is often not digested by a predator, and so can be found in the predators scat and measured to ascertain its diet (Anwar et al., 2011). An electron microscope can be used to obtain a lot of data from hair, including its width and the shape and texture of its surface, however electron microscopes are expensive and time consuming to operate (Sessions et al., 2009). Lasers are much cheaper and can be used to easily measure the width of narrow objects by measuring the interference pattern created when laser light is diffracted around the object. As a result, laser diffraction may be a more preferable method for identifying hairs based on their width. This experiment hopes to show that laser diffraction is an accurate enough method for obtaining the width of narrow objects, such as animal and human hairs, to allow comparison between them. 1.2 Wave interactions 1.2.1 Diffraction: Diffraction is a physical phenomenon that occurs when waves encounter an obstacle or gap between obstacles. Depending on the wavelength of the wave and the size of the obstacle or gap waves bend and spread out. Waves tend to diffract more around objects or gaps of a similar size to their wavelength. How a wave will diffract when it meets an object can be modelled using Huygen s construction. Huygen s construction is based on Huygen s principle of light ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Based on these stories I can assume they highly value the arts, music, drama, poetry, and more. This is because the Greek people and gods tended to favor those who show skill and interest in at least one of these fields, Orpheus and Odysseus being an example. The importance of the arts is also demonstrated by the prominent role the Muses and their children have in the myths. The Greeks also seem to value humility and respect, since many of their stories feature the downfall of those who give in to hubris. Although holistically this could be argued, especially when compared to the United States and other Western states, the record concerning Aboriginals, both past and present, has yet to live up to their self set standard. Defined simply as anyone who traces his/her ancestry back to pre European colonization, there exist mass diversity within its community. Although various political actors dispute the actual number of Aboriginals, Statistics Canada reported in 2006 that 1,678,200 people indicated they were ethnically Aboriginal or roughly 5.4 percent of the population (Statistics Canada: Population Counts). It has been the goal of the Natives to regain sovereignty since it was stripped from them in the sixteenth century. The 1930 s were also the time of the depression, which meant that many people had gone bankrupt. The Jim Crow laws were also still in motion, which created a segregation of white and black people. Shakespeare provides insight into man s conflict with the rational versus emotional characteristics of human behavior. Athens represents the logical side, with its flourishing government and society. The fairy woods represents the wilder, irrational side where nothing seems to follow any sort of structure. The character of Bottom the weaver is a direct reflection of these two worlds. When he says let the audience look to their eyes (1.2.20), he is directly touching on one of the themes in the play: the use of one s eyes in love, which according to Bottom means that people do not use their heads when in love and that it is an emotion merely based on superficialities. Whatever the case may be, it is obvious that he is much more of a lover than a tyrant. Bottom proceeds to show however, that one can love and be a tyrant at the same time. When he is transformed into the ass and shares Titania s bower, it shows his marvelous adaptability to adapt immediately to whatever life offers him. During the 16th and 17th centuries it is clear and evident that the centralization of power, or the absolutism in and hierarchy, does in fact induce stability in society, however, it is also evident via the given readings that absolutism also had its flaws which were later proved to be its downfall. It essentially all boils down a single concept of the people versus government. This is evident in the history of the French prior and leading up to the RГ©volution. In addition to, the monarchy of the English under King James VI and I s rule. As complicated as the nature of government is, when power or authority is concentrated excessively into a single point, the society will crack by that very same point if a healthy relationship between citizen and ruler is not established. One cannot expect to bully and undermine one s citizens without considering the possibility that one day they will rise up against him or her and religious masks can only be worn for so long before people recognize the hypocrisies present within them. Both of these truths are evident as seen in the given texts.
