Divorce, remarriage and the Catholic Church
The Indissolubility of marriage: Still relevant today?
I was born and raised in a conservative catholic family. If I say today that I am more liberal as far
as the Catholic doctrine is concerned my mother will probably have a heart attack. My parents have
always strongly believed in the Catholic laws and traditions. Indissolubility of marriage was one of
the principles I was raised to respect and obey. The Catholic canon law (Can. 1056) stipulates
that, the essential properties of marriage are unity and indissolubility, which in Christian
marriage obtain a special firmness by reason of the sacrament . This means that, one s a man and
a woman get married, there is no possibility to get divorced and worst of all, and they are banned
from taking the communion at the mass. I was raised to believe in this solely. Growing up, I met
incredible people and I learned so much about life. My strong believe in the indissolubility of
marriage started dwindling. With time, I started questioning myself. Is it right for the Catholic
Church to keep the remarried or divorced couples from taking the communion? Maintaining this
law on the indissolubility of marriage, the Catholic Church does not only force couples to switch to
other religions, but it also does not respect and honor its creed which forgiveness and love.
Real life is far from what the church teaches us. The Catholic Church

What feature may be utilized to see specific detail of an event and may also be useful for
observing intermittent issues? The reduced rearm delay which is provided by digital triggering,
together with segmented memory allows the capture of events that happen in rapid sequence.
Rapid triggering can capture a new waveform every microsecond until the buffer is full. 6. A
repeat trigger is being used to read a pattern. After the trigger is moved on the screen, the pattern
disappears. What is the most likely problem? The most likely problem for the reason the info
(pattern) disappears is that your readings are out of parameters that you have set it to. 7. What is
the advantage of using the repeat mode for a trigger vs. the automatic mode? The advantage of
using Auto mode is that when you re looking at your wavelength and readings, they are
consistent. If at any time the readings go out of parameters it will still display the readings. If
this was to happen in Repeat mode... where your readings go out of parameters the data would
simply not be there it would be a blank reading on the screen. 8. What is the term used to

Electronic Detection Systems Is High Rate Of False Alarms
As computer attacks are becoming more and more difficult to identify the need for better and more
efficient intrusion detection systems increases. The main problem with current intrusion detection
systems is high rate of false alarms. Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks are large scale
cooperative attacks launched from a large number of compromised hosts called Zombies, Which are
a major threat to Internet services. Therefore, keeping this problem in view here presents various
significant areas where genetic algorithmtechniques seem to be a strong technique for detecting and
preventing DDoS attack. Our purpose of this work is to examine how to integrate multiple intrusion
detection sensors in order to minimize the number of incorrect alarms.so a brief introduction to the
parameters and evolutionprocess of a GA will be provided by this process and how to implement it
in real IDS.

The main problem with current intrusion detection systems is the high rate of false alarms
triggered off by attackers. Effective way of protecting the network against malicious attacks is the
problem in both area of research and the computer network managing professionals. Improved
monitoring of malicious attacks will require integration of multiple monitoring systems. In our
current project we are analyzing potential benefits of distributed multi sensor

Dennis Rader Case Summary
In this case analysis, the BTK killer also known as Dennis Rader was convicted with 10 counts of
first degree murder in Wichita, Kansas. He committed those crimes between 1974 and 1991. The
acronym BTK stands for blind, torture, and kill. Soon after each incident, he sent anonymous letters
to the police and taunting them by offering knowledge of the killings. Dennis Raderwas reported to
have tortured a Puerto Rican family, the Oteros in their home (Vigliotti, 2015). In court, he testified
that from the torture, he took one of the daughters, Josephine Otero to the basement and tortured
her while ejaculating on her. He also testified having sexual please while torturing the rest of the

On December 8, 1977, he murdered Nancy Fox, a jewelry store worker inside her home as he
followed her to her house and cutting her phone line before he broke into her house (Vigliotti,
2015). He parked his car a few blocks away and confirmed she wasn t home. Nancy Fox
confronted Dennis Rader and remained remarkably calm when she saw him and let him touch her.
He threw her in bed and strangled her. After that he let the police know about her murderby calling
them and misspelled the word homicide with home a side along with her address and name. He
was also known to be a mentally deficient person. He had a very low IQ and failed all his classes
in high school (Vigliotti, 2015). Ironically speaking, Dennis Rader besides of being a serial
killer, was the President of the congregation at his Lutheran Church. He sent a floppy disk to his
pastor, Michael Clark who later inserted it into his computer and showed a lot of evidence
recorded that Dennis Rader was indeed the BTK killer that was behind those murders. The pastor
was then stunned and told the rest of the congregation of Dennis Rader. Mr. Rader also sent another
disk to the police giving them hints about the murder (Vigliotti,

Black males have been racially profiled for a countless amount of years. Currently it s
continuously growing all around the world s social media. For centuries black males have been

In Chicago December 22, 2016 on Wednesday with about 740 murders has been Chicago s
deadliest year since 1997. Six fatalities came amid Memorial Day end of the week, when The
New York Times followed 49 shootings including 64 casualties more than three days. One of the
shooting survivors from that end of the week was a Gangster Disciple known as Mexico, shot in

Equally important, even the city of Miami is filled with numerous amounts of gangs which
some of those gangs are actually just a street away from each other. April 5, 2016 Three

Why The Treatment And Correction Of Prisoners
The treatment and correction of prisoners is one of the focus of many countries around the world,
especially countries within Europe and North America. The way that prisoners with a psychological
illness are treated within the Federal prison system, gives an overall image of how the country
looks. Another reason why treatment and correctionsof prisoners is important is due to the immense
amount of public interest on the rehabilitation of prisoners, and is conscious about releasing
prisoners back into society before they can be properly rehabilitated or treated for the
psychological illness. Many of the psychological include but are not limited to are Antisocial

Pagosa Springs Research Paper
In Colorado, a city called Pagosa Springs is captured by a skyline of mountains. The mountains
reach so high into the sky that snow remains on its peak into the summer months. Snow drapes
the landscape for as far as the eye can see, and when the sun peeks out from behind the
mountains on the fresh snowfall in the endless field, a peace is draped across the city. While the
snow covered mountains sparkle in the sunny day, the snow is discovered to have another use.
Once the sun starts making the mountains cry in May, the rivers provide a net for the creation of
the rapids which are much enjoyed during the summer months. The rushing frigid water provides
relief and entertainment in the hot days of June and July. The river bed is compiled of jagged
stones lying among their ancestors waiting to be molded into the weathered rocks. These rocks,
while they may be wanted when they are silky smooth, are dangerous when compiled of knifes
and sharp edges. This becomes a problem when little kids play in the river and jump around and

a. A plan of your e commerce strategy is to recommend how Pay Days can use these methods to
promote their e commerce system, taking into account:
You must consider their target audience and what could be done to increase their clientele.
What are the different ways in which PlayDays can use to promote their online e commerce system?
The site structure:
Customer interface eg ease of use, display of products, personal details entry, credit card entry,
other types of payment, delivery details; image; style
In order for my client PlayDays to promote themselves in the most effective way possible, it is
important that they should focus on the appearance of the UI (User Interface) of the website as this
may arguably be the most important area to worry about when a customer is accessing the e
commerce website. If PlayDays has an unprofessional UI for the customers to use, this may be too
unattractive or difficult to navigate which could consequently mean losing out on sales or even
causing somewhat damage to the reputation of the business as unprofessionalism will lead to
customers to lose trust which would surely do more harm than good. Therefore, by putting in the
time and effort in the structure of the site in terms of layout and ease of use for users, this may lead
to positive word of mouth recommendations which could essentially lead to the promotion of
PlayDays amongst its target market.

Joseph Stalin No Slowdown In Sopo Analysis
A power struggle within the Soviet Communist Party was triggered by Vladimir Lenin s death in
1924, and shortly after, Joseph Stalin seized control of the party, quashing all potential opposition
to his leadership. Thereafter, the late 1920 s and early 1930 s saw fundamental changes to the
Soviet Union. It was during this period that Joseph Stalinconsolidated his authority and was
allowed to rule without opposition, becoming the clear vozhd and introducing his revolution from

The Lovely Bones and Speak

the emotional journeys and boundaries faced by their characters. Both authors explore this idea
through the restriction of their protagonist; however, they both express their journeys with the
help of a secondary character. Different approaches are used by the authors, Sebold tells the story
from the past whereas Sharzer provides a day by day diary of the emotional journey faced by
Melinda. Both use the conclusion of their texts to heighten their characters emotional journeys.

Sebold uses an omniscient narrator (Susie) in which she retells her story through the use of
flashbacks express Susie s emotions and thoughts. Sebold starts the novel with a flashback
inside the snow globe that lives on her father s desk is a penguin wearing a red and white striped
scarf. Susie is worried for the penguin as he is all alone . However Susie s father told her that
the penguin has a nice life and is trapped in a perfect world this provides an insight into her
emotions and how diligently Susie is worries and is concerned by others. This allows readers to
gain a connection and understanding into the character created by Sebold. Sharzer also utilises
the use of flashbacks to communicate the anguish and pain caused by Melinda s rape. The use
of images to retell Melinda s rape are placed throughout the film through the use of dark lighting,
and fast cutting the viewer s attention is quickly drawn and left with the feeling of pain and hurt
which then led to Melinda screaming in pain and angst. The use of high and tight angles over
Melinda, usually in tight spaces is Sharzer s representation for the world in which Melinda lives.
Full of fear, secrets and pain, Melinda is restricted because of her emotions. The flashbacks
provide the viewers with vital information into the Melinda s rape this is accompanied with

prevalent infection. Approximate 5% of the cancers globally are HPV associated anogenital or
oral cancers (1). HPV is transmitted frequently between partners; more frequent transmission has
been reported from females to males than from males to females (2). The incidence of anal and
oral cancers related to HPV is increasing in the general population and is growing even faster
among individuals who are immunocompromised because of human immunodeficiency virus
(HIV) infection (3, 4). Two prophylactic vaccines (Gardasil and Cervarix) have been approved
for a decade. Recently, the nonavalent vaccine including additional high risk HPV types is
promised to provide more coverage against cervical cancers (5). The HPV vaccine is
recommended routinely for 11 or 12 year olds, as well as for young men through age 21 years and
young women through age 26 years who have not previously been vaccinated. HPV vaccine is also
recommended for men who have sex with men (MSM), people living with HIV/AIDS, and
immunocompromised persons through age 26 years. However, the high risk HPV types included in
the nonavalent vaccine contribute little to anal, oropharyngeal, penile, vulvar and vaginal cancer(5,

Character Analysis In Grand Torino By Clint Eastwood
Grand Tornio begins as Clint Eastwood, taking on the character Walt Kowalski an unhappy military
veteran in which his wife had just passed away. Walt attempts to reconnect with his children but he
realizes their selfish and lack compassion for others. His family doesn t understand bravery nor
hardships that he has overcome in the past. In Grand Torino, Eastwood conveys a sense of
aspiration throughout the movie, while developing strong relations between his neighbors.
One connection Walt makes with his neighbors is that they are passionate for using ethical
reasoning. For example in Grand Torino, Thao helped Mrs.V. by picking up her groceries, after
some neighborhood kids were being disrespectful. After this Walt said How about that , the
particular scene shows Eastwood has some type of aspiration for society, which this actually makes
him joyful for the boy because most people would have been spectating and would have ignored the
situation. Additionally, this depicts that Thao has concern for others and doesn t just pressure into
everyone else s opinion. Clint Eastwood reveals that he has a sense of compassion in Grand
Torino. For example, he felt a desire to save Sue from the neighborhood gang. Eastwood
demonstrates a comparison through the character he plays and the Hmong family. The Hmong
Family believed it was moral to provide punishment. Walt can be perceived as old fashion when
he says he s old school . In Grand Torino, Thao got punished for trying to steal Walt s

Review Of What Women Can Learn From Men By Margaret Wente
A Review of What Women Can Learn From Men By Margaret Wente Margaret Wente s July 2015
Globe and Mail article, What Women Can Learn From Men addresses a common phenomenon, the
comparison: between men and women. With her article, she hopes to advise women on how they
can improve themselves and their lives with simple changes. Furthermore, she wisely chooses to
avoid a sexist approach by commending men on their behavioral traits despite her gender. Infact,
using logical implications, she portrayed herself as an example rather than offend her audience.
Additionally, through evidence, figures, facts and a link, she skillfully supports her theories thus
making her article significantly factual and effective. Although Margaret starts by stereotypically
generalising men, she depicts some of their great qualities that women can truly learn from. Using
different approaches, she portrays women and their thoughts then skillfully explains how they can
better themselves by thinking like men. Despite how she initially condemned men, she concludes
by logically beseeching that man shaming has gone far enough and should stop. Despite being an
article in the extensively read Canadian newspaper the Globe and mail, Margaret s target audience
is the broad female population. She therefore uses a different approach, one with less specialized
language, as was stated in Mind Wide Open. The purpose is quite clear: she portrays women s
behavioral traits and their thoughts then

Military operations for OIR began on August 8, 2014 with a goal of striking ISIL across the
breadth and depth of their so called caliphate . According to the Department of Defense s OIR
website, U.S. and coalition forces have conducted over 16,500 strikes across Iraq and Syria (as
of early December 2016). In addition to strikes, over 127,000 sorties have been flown in support
of operations in Iraq and Syria. Military actions have resulted in the destruction of approximately
31,900 targets. Airpower has played a significant role in OIR; however, because ISIL is a non
traditional adversary and the war against ISIL is an irregular war, coalition partners have not
been able to destroy ISIL s strategic center of gravity to end their resolve. Significant progress has
been made; however, combat operations alone will not result in the degradation and destruction of

An Imbalance Between Rich And Poor Is The Oldest And Most...
An imbalance between rich and poor is the oldest and most fatal ailment of all republics. Plutarch,
Greek historian Currently in the United States, there are over 16 million children growing up in
poverty. Children that live in poverty are more likely to be absent from school and have a higher
dropout rate than those who come from families with higher incomes. Children that live beneath the
povertyline are more likely to have learning disabilities, developmental delays, and behavioral
problems. These are just a few disadvantages of the hundreds that children living in poverty deal
with on a day to day basis. There are ways to help these children in poverty, that is the extension of
the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 improvements to the Child Tax
Creditand the Earned Income Tax Credit. The extension of this effective policy will ensure that
parents and caregivers have the resources to support and nurture their children. The United States
fell into a recession in December 2007 and it was the greatest economic crisis since the Great
Depression. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act was designed to help the economy
recover and get out of the recession. ARRA was specifically designed to help American families

Monotheistic Religion Essay
Religion is something that basically everyone has in common. In all corners of the world and in
all eras of history, humans have wondered about the origins of the world, the purpose of life, what
it means to be human and live life, and what happens after death. What is a monotheistic religion?
This one word is defined as believing in the existence of one god or in the oneness of God.
Monotheism shows the traditions of BГЎbism, Cao Dai (Caodaism), Cheondoism (Cheondogyo),
Christianity, Deism, Islam, Judaism, all believing in just one God. In our society you can voice
your concerns, opinions and state your beliefs as to which religion you need to or want to serve.
Religion is the confidence in and love of a superhuman controlling power, considerably a personal
God. Some may consider it to be an arrangement of confidence and love. Religion adds the reason
to the lives of many supporters, allowing them an energy about the previous life, a comprehension
of the present right then and there, and seek after what s to come in the future. Religions have,
images, and respected histories that intend to clarify the importance of life, the beginning of life, or
the inter world. Numerous religions have sorted out practices, special holidays, sacred spots, and
sacred texts. Any and all religions incorporate ceremonies, sermons, celebrations, feasts, funerals,

This book was even a required textbook for students to have at Cambridge up until the 20th

that God was the reason for existence. Of his many works, his most famous one (and the last one
before his death in 1805) is called Natural Theology; or, Evidences of the Existence and Attributes
of the Deity, Collected from the Appearances of Nature (1802). In Natural Theology, Paley begins
with a metaphor of God as a watchmaker. He argues that God can be understood by observing the
natural world and the only conclusion in this metaphor is that the watch or design must have had a

There was one literary work that was translated that was not related to the Catholic faith which
was Aesop s Fables. The second group of works that was translated were Japanese originals, like

The Negative Effects Of Information And Communication...
1.INTRODUCTION
It is without a doubt that economically developed nations have over the years profited from the
wealth Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has provided. Even with the multiples
of opportunities and economic expansion ICT has brought to these countries, developed nation s
such as the United States, United Kingdom (UK) and Australia have had to battle the negative
effect of ICT. This has left a lot of institutions and sectors vulnerable to cybercrime and cyberattack.
As mentioned above, recent years has seen the rapid digitalization of daily economic and financial
doings. This has instigated the sprout of cybercrimes or E crimes. It is not uncommon to use the
terms such as cybercrime, E crime, and computer or high tech crime interchangeably. In a nutshell,
crimes which involve the use of a computer or the storage of information into a computer are
referred to as cybercrimes (Bhasin, 2007). The ability to store information on a computer which
can be retrieved or disrupted illegally describes storage tech/Cybercrimes.
From a global perspective, the world s biggest bank raid was observed in 2015 when British banks
lost an astonishing of 650 million pounds and more. The crime was carried out by Russian based
hackers who over the two years carefully executed this cybercrime. Computer viruses were used to
infect networks of institutions worldwide by infiltrating banks internal computers systems (Evans,

A chemical change is a change that alters the identity of a substance. A chemical change can be
identified by five things: change in mass, formation of a precipitate, release of heat and/or light,
color change, or giving off gas. Physical changes occurred in four out of the eight experiments
completed in this lab. The first was experiment one, the salt and water. The salt was added to
water but when the water evaporated the salt remained. The water changed to the vapor form of
water and the salt did not change. The second was experiment two, the candle. When the candle
was lit the heat given off from the fire melted the wax beneath it. Melting is a physical change
because the liquid wax is still wax, its usual form is just a solid. Experiment four dealt with
ripping paper. This was a physical change because, although the paper was being ripped apart, it
was (and still is) paper. The smaller pieces did not change the mass or any other factor of it except
the surface area of each piece. Experiment seven dealt with vinegar being added to milk. The
vinegar did not change but the milk was curdled by the vinegar. Although the milk was curdled, the
milk remained milk. The composition stayed the same. Each of these experiments showed no
change in a substance so as it changed to another substance. Chemical changes occurred in five out
of the eight experiments completed in this lab. Although the main focus of experiment two was

Klu Klux Klan History
After the infamous Civil War, a small group of young confederate veterans decided to make a little
group to relieve the boredom of having nothing to do. This small group would swell to the

Simmons after watching a black and white movie called Birth Of A Nation , which was about the
KKK. The movie showed the KKK as a needed and important part of the United States and was a

the nineteen fifteen, William and others brought back the Klu Klux Klan to a much higher level
gaining about one hundred thousand members by the end of World War One. This is the point
when the KKK used the white sheets and cone shaped hats that made them famous. The Klu Klux
Klan stepped up their attacks not only on the African American population, but to catholics, jews,
immigrants, and alcohol. The end of World War One brought numerous members because
skepticism of immigrants and the loss of jobs for the people who went to go fight after World
War One. The Klu Klux Klan s members swelled from a few thousands in the eighteen hundreds to
a massive one hundred thousand members after World War One. The Klansmen stepped up their
attacks by lynching and burning crosses. This mayhem continued until around the nineteen
twenties when the KKK s members were at its peak with over five million. The KKK also had
people in office and had control over part of the government. Their numbers were so large that the
president could not put any restrictions on them or riots might occur. This all changed when the
media and press attacked the KKK. With the help of the media, public opinion started to change.
This continued on until the nineteen forties when the member count dropped to thirty thousand, a
far cry from the five million it had acquired. The Klu Klux Klan then broke into small groups and
disappeared. The prime of the KKK is over but it is not dead

Explain The Contemporary View Of Materialism
How does contemporary view of materialism impact contemporary understanding of happiness?
What is happiness? In order to be truly happy people need to be able to understand that
everything is good within their own life and that they are able to be happy with the people that are
in their life and the people that influence how they live their daily life. However, a lot of people
talk about money can buy you happiness. Money is the most important thing in everybody s life.
People need money to buy food, drinks, and transportation. However, people think that since
money can buy everything else, then it can easily buy happiness also. Although this may be true,
but can money really buy happiness? I believe not. There are a lot of reasons why money ... Show

Yes, of course they need money for the living. But to become happiness, people don t really need
money. They can do a lot of fun things to make them happy without cash. For instance, to
become friends with someone, people just need to be friendly, kind, and nice. Money is never
going to be the problem. This is why there s the difference between true friends and fake friends.
True friends are the ones that always stick with you no matter what it is. However, fake friends
are the ones that always eat up your money (Monbiot). People should be smart enough to be
friends with somebody. If they re friends with the people that always takes up their money, at
first, those people are going to make you happy and say a lot of good things about you. After
that, when you don t have any money left, I believe they re not going to stick with you anymore,
though they re going to find somebody else that has more money than you. And that is a fact.
Therefore, people really got to be picky to pick their true friends. Money doesn t get you true friends

Similarities Between Hamlet And A Fine Balance
Finding Your Purpose
The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without
fear for newer and richer experience (Eleanor Roosevelt). Experience in our lives help shape us
into people we are today. In the novels, Hamlet by William Shakespeare and A Fine Balance by
Rohinton Mistry the characters are presented with difficulties due to the effects of the emergency.
The aftermath of being in a state of emergency results in the countries of Denmark and India
experiencing corrupt government, death and violence, forcing the characters to find the purpose for
their lives.
After living in a state of emergency, Hamletand Dina use the effects of corrupt government to
realize their purpose in life. In Hamlet, King Hamlet is killed by Claudius so that he can become
the king of Denmark, and young Hamlet is left reeling with grief. Hamlet uses his grief to avenge
his father and expose Claudius for corrupting the government of Denmark. Hamlet promises his
father,
Haste me to know t, that I, with wings as swift /As meditation or the thoughts of love, / May
sweep to my revenge (Shakespeare, 1.5. 29 31).
Instead of being held back by his grief, Hamlet turns his anger into something positive by revealing
Claudius true character to Denmark. Hamlet s reaction to the murder of his father helps him to find
his purpose in life, by freeing Denmark from the corrupt government. Similar to Hamlet, in A Fine
Balance, the characters and other

Iowa s Own Backpocket Brewing
Iowa s Own Backpocket Brewing I grew up in a working class family and that meant working
class beer. Pabst Blue Ribbon, Old Style, and Milwaukee s Best were the beers of choice at every
BBQ or Superbowl party. When I became old enough to drink beer, I learned that the old standards
became standard because they were cheap, not because they were interesting. In the Midwest we
love our meat and potatoes, and our boring beer. These are both hold overs from another time,
when goods could not move as far, or as fast as they do today. Although some craft brews are
completely original, most of them are variations on classic recipes. These personal touches are
what give breweries their own identity. In one way beer is a lot like food; ingredients and styles
vary regionally, but it all starts out much the same.So what makes one beer more interesting than
another? It begins with the brewer, choosing ingredients, mixing flavors, and making subtle
changes. Most of the different styles of beer have been around for many years, however, craft
brewingwas something that few people had heard of thirty years ago. Since then it has steadily
gained momentum. These days most grocery stores carry a staggering variety of imported and
domestic craft beers. One company has turned a love of traditional German beer into a local
landmark . Backpocket Brewing of Coralville, Iowa produces several varieties of beer, some are
available all the time, others are seasonal, or even a one time run.

Scientific Management And Human Relations
Scientific Management and Human Relations are two different management approaches. In
Scientific Management, managers are responsible to think and workers do. Frederick Winslow
Taylor (1856 1915) develops the Principles of Time and Motion Study, which leads to a
conclusion that certain people have a higher work efficiency compared to the others. In his means,
cooperation is to do what workers are told to do without asking questions or making suggestions.
(as cited in Miller Form, 1924).
Human Relation Management was founded by Professor Elton Mayo (1880 1949). During the
industrial revolution in early 1920 s, Mayo initiated the Human Relation Theory of Management. A
psychologist, Henry C. Link (as cited in Miller Form, 1924, p. 657) relates that the ideal
employment method is receiving applicants from all kinds at one end, sort, interview, and record
them, before labelling them with the righteous job. Mayo introduced an experiment, the Hawthorne
Studies, to look into the impact of working environment on the productivity of workers.
Scientific Management, also known as Taylorism, is a theory of management which focuses on
workflows analysis. In the 20th century, a large number of immigrants which lacks the ability to
comprehend in English entered the workforce in the United States, whom Taylor concludes that
labourers are not qualified to plan the process of their jobs. In almost all the mechanic arts the
science which underlies each act of each workman is so

Advantages And Disadvantages Of CO2 Laser
Carbon dioxide laser ablation:
The carbon dioxide (CO2) laser has been in use for decades as a tool in general and
dermatological surgery. The CO2 laser creates an infrared light at a 10600 nm wavelength that
produces a thermal effect on targeted tissue. The energy from the laser rapidly heats intracellular
and extracellular water to 100 ВєC, causing vaporization, thus disrupting cell membranes and
causing cell death.
The laser is used to vaporize a layer of epithelium, and this skin is cleared from the field with a
moistened cotton tip applicator or gauze. Johnson et al. described the depth of treatment for CO2
laser therapy, as several histologic layers can be differentiated with consecutive laser passes, such
that the full depth of dysplastic involvement can be removed. Thus, use of the laser is theoretically
curative for AC and does not cause deep dermal damage with ensuing scar formation.
Several studies on the optimal technique to treat AC lesions by CO2 laser recommend a
superpulsed mode rather than continuous wave form, as pulsed laser therapy decreases recovery
time and scarring potential.
Superpulsed CO2 laser concentrates treatment into rapid powerful pulses that allow cooling ... Show

vermilionectomy. There has also been discussion for the combination of CO2 laser

Christian Values In The Epic Of Beowulf
Written by a christian poet, the epic of Beowulf clearly outlines that failure to avenge an assault is
considered shameful. However, Christian values say to just turn the other cheek . It is interesting
how this epic poem can have both values at once, because of their clearly cut out contradictions.
Throughout the epic of Beowulf, Christian philosophy is represented in many ways, like how God
protects them from being killed, how God provides them with everything they need in life.
However, there is also a strong, contradicting sense of pageanism and heroic code displayed by
Beowulf which is mostly conflicting with christianity. In the epic Beowulf, Beowulf is portrayed as
an internally conflicted character who while avenging Escher s death, appealing to God for victory
and reveling in his own glory, vacillates between adhering to Christian and pagan values.... Show

sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your

Grendel s mom, follows the heroic code and takes revenge, and kills her for killing Aescher. He
states It is better for us all to avenge our friends Through this act, Beowulf shows his orientation
towards the Heroic code, that sets Failure to avenge an assault is considered shameful .
However, Beowulf still credits his victory to God, stating God gives us guidance to those who
can find it by no one else This shows his internal conflict, how he can t decide between
pageanism and christianity. On one side, he does pagean acts that contradict with christian values,
but on the other side, he still believes his victory is all because of God, who is clearly opposing of

Romance Embodied through Figurative Language in Taylor Swift s Red The song Red was
written and recorded by famed singer/songwriter Taylor Swift for her album of the same name. It
is a song that is full of figurative speech; the songstress makes use of similes, metaphors, and
imagery. These three techniques work together to convey the many emotions the singer feels when
she looks back at the end of relationship. Red is a song that is about remembering a relationship
and thinking about the emotions good or bad that it brought on. The first two lines of the song,
Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead end street /Faster than the wind,
passionate as sin, ending so suddenly, provide an example of how Swift uses similes in this song.
The artist is writing about how passionate, wild and reckless this progressing relationship was,
even though it eventually came to an abrupt halt. Swift again makes use of the simile when she
writes, Loving him is like trying to change your mind once you re already flying through the free
fall. This line can be interpreted to mean that Swift began to have second thoughts about the
relationship, but she was already in love, so it was too late to back down. ... Show more content on

Because of this, Manchester City cannot spend as much money on signing foreign talent as these
players will face difficulty to work in the UK, meaning the club can instead invest the money that
they would have spent on players in their youth academy. Home grown players could benefit from
a Brexit (Slater 2016). Appendix 1 shows that Manchester City is in the bottom 4 of the Premier
League for a number of British players used by the club, so to switch from buying players abroad
to investing into the youth academy means that it is a positive for Manchester City as it will
make it a more traditional British club. What this does for Manchester City is inherit the squad
to become more of a Manchester like club as they can focus on bringing up home grown players
from their youth academy meaning there will be an increase in the amount of British players in
the club as at the moment there are only 4 British players within the 24 men first team of
Manchester City. What this also does for Manchester City is help the economic situation they face

military technology in general. From here on, Luke uses his old skills (what he did back at
home) to destroy the Death Star. Furthermore, literary heroes must give their readers
inspirational hope through the sense of closure in the plot. The first example that supports this
theory is in the story Gilgamesh, where Enkidu dies. This conveys a sense of closure in the plot,
because when Enkidu is dying Gilgamesh can t stop brooding about the prospect of his own
death. This idea basically sums up the effect of Enkidu s death on Gilgamesh therefore creating a
sense of closure. The gods are creating Enkidu because the people of Uruk complaining to the
gods that their Mighty King Gilgamesh is too harsh. The goddess Aruru forms Enkidu from water
and clay as rival to Gilgamesh. As Enkidu is dying of an illness, Gilgamesh can t stop grieving for

Investure, Llc, and Smith College
UVA F 1537 INVESTURE, LLC, AND SMITH COLLEGE In January 2004, Alice Handy s new
investment advisory firm, Investure, LLC, was attempting to land its first client, Smith College, an
elite liberal arts college located in Northampton, Massachusetts with a $913 million endowment.
Handy, fresh from her previous position as chief executive officer of the University of Virginia
Investment Management Company (UVIMCO), had 25 years of experience managing money and
a track record of success. Over her career, Handy had directed increasing amounts of funds to a
class of investments known as alternative assets, which included a range of investments other than
publicly traded stocks and bonds. She had also developed a philosophy about... Show more content

She also found herself involved in fundraising efforts when donations to UVa s capital campaign
involved life trusts. During the 1990s, as state support of higher education dwindled, endowment
funds took on increasing importance for UVa and other public universities. Handy s position was
restructured to enable her to dedicate more time to the investment side. The previously lowkey
staff and endowment both grew rapidly as Handy s team began conducting proprietary research.
Soon nearly a dozen investment professionals and five accounting and administrative staff
members were managing the endowment. In 2003, after 29 years with the university, Handy
determined it was time for a change. In July of that year, she announced her retirement as chief
executive officer of UVIMCO, leaving behind a healthy endowment and a strong record of
performance. UVIMCO s asset allocation had changed considerably during Handy s tenure, and
the endowment had enjoyed strong performance (Exhibits 1 and 2). UVa s endowment had
generated an average annual return of more than 13% since Handy s arrival and it had grown to
almost $2 billion in market value (Exhibit 3). Through her years of service, Handy had developed
an extensive list of contacts including business leaders, asset managers, venture capitalists, and
philanthropists.

Foodborne Illnesses In The United States
There have been many outbreaks of foodborne illnesses in the United States which claim
thousands of lives each year. I chose my essay topic based on my desire to contribute to creating
awareness of simple methods of foodborne disease prevention. Also, I currently work in the
healthcare service industry and I am enrolled in Community and Public Health with UoPeople. This
topic is directly related to my career.
Foodborne illnesses are infections of the digestive tract caused by eating infected foods or drinks.
These illnesses are caused by pathogens such as harmful bacteria, parasites, and viruses. These
pathogens cause death or get people hospitalized. Some examples are Salmonella, E.coli, and
Norovirus. These are found in raw and undercooked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The results showed that foods contaminated by these pathogens caused 9.4 million illnesses, 55,961
hospitalizations, and 1,351 deaths each year (p. 12).
Even though people are aware of the importance of cleaning their homes, majority do not
comprehend how cleaning can reduce the level of bacteria in their meals. Also, a lot of Americans
undercook their meat, chicken, and egg. Most do not understand, or find it difficult to understand
the safe food handling instructions on the labels of the products they buy. They even do not keep
to the recommended requirements when storing food in their refrigerators. Since proper food
storage reduces the rate of bacteria growth, the refrigerator temperature should be set to between
32F and 41F. (Bruhn, 2014, p. 319, 326)
However, according to Doyle, et al (2015), there has been reduction in the number of outbreaks
and illnesses due to E.coli infections in the past 15 years. This is due to CDC mandate that
clinicians conduct laboratory testing and reporting of microbial agents that cause illnesses. As a
result, foods highly at risk of getting contaminated are being monitored, inclding natural foods that
contain little or no antimicrobial agents (p. 254). Also, clinicians have taken more active role in
educating people about ways to prevent or reduce foodborne diseases. Washing hands properly as
well as changing cutting boards after handling raw poultry or meat is very important for food

Fancy A Roast Like Mum Make
An article on The Age called, Fancy a roast like mum makes? is based on a company called The
Dinner Ladies, a Sydney based home cooked meal delivery service. The business, founded seven
years ago, successfully manages to utilize several effective marketing concepts including the
management and growth of their market based assets, and the ability to adapt to environmental
change.
Alongside marketing interventions, for instance advertising campaigns, market based assets are
essential in the determination of the likelihood of future sales. Market based assets are defined as
the mental and physical availability that makes a brand easier to buy for more people, in more
situations (Sharp, 2013, p.14). The Dinner Ladies effectively increase the

Thomas Aquinas Point Of View On Religion
Thomas Aquinas is one of the most notable philosophers whose works have been used as reference
materials by people across different generations. His theological perspectives stressed the influences
created by Aristotle. According to Aquinas, religion and faith remain intertwined in the logic.
Thomas Aquinas believed that faith and reason are the same. Therefore, his concept of the Bibleand
the Church differ from other scholars who stressed the significance of religion. The voice of reason
has been echoed from one generation of philosophers to the other. Several religious figures
considered the concepts shared by Aquinas from an extremist point of view. They believed that
Aquinas like Aristotle diverted people from religious aspects by focusing on faith solely. Aquinas
work, the Summa Theologica is the basis of the discussion. The Summa Theologica establishes that
Christianity is a religion yet faith is an element that people should address from an enlightened
point of view. The five volume document establishes that reason or logic often inform the actions of
certain Christians. Since philosophy concerns inquisitiveness, people should not be afraid to
question the things they doubt about religion . From Aquinas point of view, people should always
listen to the opposing point of view when talking about Christianity. The philosopher established
that one of the things he questions about Christianity is the concept of I answer. In essence, an
authoritative figure

De La Poer s The Rats In The Walls
The Rats in the Walls tells the story of the last living descendent of the de la Poer line, who
learns of his family heritage. The de la Poers formerly inhabited a property called Exham Priory
in Wales, before Walter Delapore, his direct ancestor, killed off the remainder of his family and
fled to Virginia to begin a new life. De la Poer, stricken with the death of his only son, resolves to
move back to Britain and restore his family s home to its former glory. Over a century, Exham
Priory has fallen into a state of squalor; yet, no cost will deter de la Poer from his mission. He
finds that Exham Priory is a very peculiar construction with a very long history. Once an ancient
Druidic temple, it was appropriated and styled by the invading Romans, and later the resident
Saxons. Each culture added their own elements to the structure, resulting in a medieval castle on
the outside with increasingly ancient architecture as one went deeper. The de la Poer family
acquired the site in 1261, and thus began a very strange lineage, hated by the local peasantry, which
became the monstrous subject of many folktales involving demons, rats, and the disappearance of
villagers over many generations. According to legend, the de la Poers haunted the property until
Walter Delapore, a chivalrous and delicate man, suddenly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

De la Poer resolves to spend a night in the sub cellar, where he is joined by Norrys and his
favorite cat, a black cat with an unfortunately racist name who is often referred to in future

finds Black Tom frantically pawing at a small crack in the largest altar in the room. It is revealed
upon closer examination that this is, in fact, a secret

A Religious Order Created By Francis Of Assisi
Franciscan are member of a religious order founded in the early 13th century. Which was created
by Francis of Assisi. The members of the order try to achieve the ideas of the founder. The
Franciscans consist of three main orders. The First Order are priests and lay brothers, who have
promised to lead a life of prayer, preaching, and penance. The First Order is divided into three
independent branches: the Friars Minor, the Friars Minor Conventual, and the Friars Minor
Capuchin. The latter order consists of the Third Order Secular, whose lay members live in the
world without vows and the Third Order Regular are members that live in religious communities.
Of these religious men and women are all over the Roman Catholic world. The Franciscans

The Controversial Role Of Hazing In The Present Day
Hazing is a common ritual found in both academic and employment settings. Although hazing was
instituted a few centuries ago, its prominence can still be seen in modern day society. For that
reason, this paper will examine three areas that includes the background of hazing, the viewpoint
comparison on hazingthrough two peer reviewed articles, and why hazing is still controversial in
the present day.
Background of Hazing
According to Parks, Jones, Ray, Hughey, and Cox (2015), hazing as part of a rite of passage
process dates back to the beginning of mankind with the first documented instances of organized
hazing coming from ancient Greece, where prospective soldiers demonstrated their loyalty through
painful and uncomfortable experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The captain can remind teammates of the hazing prevention workshop and suggest a progressive
team dinner where each senior member of the team provides a food course. (Heibert Klatt, 2001, p.
170 2; p. 17)
Keep in mind that Waldron s (2012) suggestions for reducing hazing may have little influence due
to the countervailing force of peer pressure (Edelman, 2005, p. 328). Therefore, it is highly
unlikely that this contradictory approach will succeed using a short range tactic to replace a long
range strategy (Fallacies, 2006, More..., para. 1 42; Heibert Klatt, 2001, p. 170 2). Hence, further
discussions are needed to determine which author(s) presented the stronger argument.
Taking all this into account, Waldron (2012) has presented a stronger argument than Josefowitz
and Gadon (1989). The reason for this is due to Waldron (2012) maintaining a neutral position,
while presenting strong scientific evidence on the subject of hazing. Also, the statistics presented
by Waldron (2012) did not have any fallacies when compared to that of Josefowitz and Gadon
(1989) (Fallacies, 2006, More..., para. 1 42). Based upon these differences and how society has
changed its cultural stance on hazing, Waldron (2012) has clearly given the better argument and
solution for stopping hazing. Hence, a further discussion is needed on why hazing remains a

  • 2. Importance Of Indissolubility Of Marriage Name: Michelle Kemdjo Ghomsi Instructor: Padmaja Challakere Divorce, remarriage and the Catholic Church The Indissolubility of marriage: Still relevant today? I was born and raised in a conservative catholic family. If I say today that I am more liberal as far as the Catholic doctrine is concerned my mother will probably have a heart attack. My parents have always strongly believed in the Catholic laws and traditions. Indissolubility of marriage was one of the principles I was raised to respect and obey. The Catholic canon law (Can. 1056) stipulates that, the essential properties of marriage are unity and indissolubility, which in Christian marriage obtain a special firmness by reason of the sacrament . This means that, one s a man and a woman get married, there is no possibility to get divorced and worst of all, and they are banned from taking the communion at the mass. I was raised to believe in this solely. Growing up, I met incredible people and I learned so much about life. My strong believe in the indissolubility of marriage started dwindling. With time, I started questioning myself. Is it right for the Catholic Church to keep the remarried or divorced couples from taking the communion? Maintaining this law on the indissolubility of marriage, the Catholic Church does not only force couples to switch to other religions, but it also does not respect and honor its creed which forgiveness and love. Real life is far from what the church teaches us. The Catholic Church ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Walt attempts to reconnect with his children but he realizes their selfish and lack compassion for others. His family doesn t understand bravery nor hardships that he has overcome in the past. In Grand Torino, Eastwood conveys a sense of aspiration throughout the movie, while developing strong relations between his neighbors. For example in Grand Torino, Thao helped Mrs.V. by picking up her groceries, after some neighborhood kids were being disrespectful. After this Walt said How about that , the particular scene shows Eastwood has some type of aspiration for society, which this actually makes him joyful for the boy because most people would have been spectating and would have ignored the situation. Additionally, this depicts that Thao has concern for others and doesn t just pressure into everyone else s opinion. Clint Eastwood reveals that he has a sense of compassion in Grand Torino. Review Of What Women Can Learn From Men By Margaret Wente A Review of What Women Can Learn From Men By Margaret Wente Margaret Wente s July 2015 Globe and Mail article, What Women Can Learn From Men addresses a common phenomenon, the comparison: between men and women. With her article, she hopes to advise women on how they can improve themselves and their lives with simple changes. Furthermore, she wisely chooses to avoid a sexist approach by commending men on their behavioral traits despite her gender. Infact, using logical implications, she portrayed herself as an example rather than offend her audience. Additionally, through evidence, figures, facts and a link, she skillfully supports her theories thus making her article significantly factual and effective. Although Margaret starts by stereotypically generalising men, she depicts some of their great qualities that women can truly learn from. Using different approaches, she portrays women and their thoughts then skillfully explains how they can better themselves by thinking like men. Despite how she initially condemned men, she concludes by logically beseeching that man shaming has gone far enough and should stop. Despite being an article in the extensively read Canadian newspaper the Globe and mail, Margaret s target audience is the broad female population. She therefore uses a different approach, one with less specialized language, as was stated in Mind Wide Open. A chemical change can be identified by five things: change in mass, formation of a precipitate, release of heat and/or light, color change, or giving off gas. Physical changes occurred in four out of the eight experiments completed in this lab. The first was experiment one, the salt and water. The salt was added to water but when the water evaporated the salt remained. The water changed to the vapor form of water and the salt did not change. The second was experiment two, the candle. When the candle was lit the heat given off from the fire melted the wax beneath it. Melting is a physical change because the liquid wax is still wax, its usual form is just a solid. Experiment four dealt with ripping paper. This was a physical change because, although the paper was being ripped apart, it was (and still is) paper. The smaller pieces did not change the mass or any other factor of it except the surface area of each piece. Experiment seven dealt with vinegar being added to milk. The vinegar did not change but the milk was curdled by the vinegar. Although the milk was curdled, the milk remained milk. The composition stayed the same. In order to be truly happy people need to be able to understand that everything is good within their own life and that they are able to be happy with the people that are in their life and the people that influence how they live their daily life. This is why there s the difference between true friends and fake friends. True friends are the ones that always stick with you no matter what it is. Pabst Blue Ribbon, Old Style, and Milwaukee s Best were the beers of choice at every BBQ or Superbowl party. When I became old enough to drink beer, I learned that the old standards became standard because they were cheap, not because they were interesting. In the Midwest we love our meat and potatoes, and our boring beer. These are both hold overs from another time, when goods could not move as far, or as fast as they do today. Although some craft brews are completely original, most of them are variations on classic recipes. These personal touches are what give breweries their own identity. In one way beer is a lot like food; ingredients and styles vary regionally, but it all starts out much the same.So what makes one beer more interesting than another? It begins with the brewer, choosing ingredients, mixing flavors, and making subtle changes. Most of the different styles of beer have been around for many years, however, craft brewingwas something that few people had heard of thirty years ago. Since then it has steadily gained momentum. • 31. Scientific Management And Human Relations Scientific Management and Human Relations are two different management approaches. In Scientific Management, managers are responsible to think and workers do. Frederick Winslow Taylor (1856 1915) develops the Principles of Time and Motion Study, which leads to a conclusion that certain people have a higher work efficiency compared to the others. In his means, cooperation is to do what workers are told to do without asking questions or making suggestions. (as cited in Miller Form, 1924). Human Relation Management was founded by Professor Elton Mayo (1880 1949). During the industrial revolution in early 1920 s, Mayo initiated the Human Relation Theory of Management. A psychologist, Henry C. Link (as cited in Miller Form, 1924, p. 657) relates that the ideal employment method is receiving applicants from all kinds at one end, sort, interview, and record them, before labelling them with the righteous job. Mayo introduced an experiment, the Hawthorne Studies, to look into the impact of working environment on the productivity of workers. Scientific Management, also known as Taylorism, is a theory of management which focuses on workflows analysis. In the 20th century, a large number of immigrants which lacks the ability to comprehend in English entered the workforce in the United States, whom Taylor concludes that labourers are not qualified to plan the process of their jobs. • 33. Advantages And Disadvantages Of CO2 Laser Carbon dioxide laser ablation: The carbon dioxide (CO2) laser has been in use for decades as a tool in general and dermatological surgery. The CO2 laser creates an infrared light at a 10600 nm wavelength that produces a thermal effect on targeted tissue. The energy from the laser rapidly heats intracellular and extracellular water to 100 ВєC, causing vaporization, thus disrupting cell membranes and causing cell death. The laser is used to vaporize a layer of epithelium, and this skin is cleared from the field with a moistened cotton tip applicator or gauze. Johnson et al. described the depth of treatment for CO2 laser therapy, as several histologic layers can be differentiated with consecutive laser passes, such that the full depth of dysplastic involvement can be removed. Thus, use of the laser is theoretically curative for AC and does not cause deep dermal damage with ensuing scar formation. Several studies on the optimal technique to treat AC lesions by CO2 laser recommend a superpulsed mode rather than continuous wave form, as pulsed laser therapy decreases recovery time and scarring potential. However, Christian values say to just turn the other cheek . It is interesting how this epic poem can have both values at once, because of their clearly cut out contradictions. Throughout the epic of Beowulf, Christian philosophy is represented in many ways, like how God protects them from being killed, how God provides them with everything they need in life. However, there is also a strong, contradicting sense of pageanism and heroic code displayed by Beowulf which is mostly conflicting with christianity. Nonetheless, Beowulf doesn t forgive Grendel s mom, follows the heroic code and takes revenge, and kills her for killing Aescher. Tochia Hendrix Jordan 6 February 2016 Romance Embodied through Figurative Language in Taylor Swift s Red The song Red was written and recorded by famed singer/songwriter Taylor Swift for her album of the same name. It is a song that is full of figurative speech; the songstress makes use of similes, metaphors, and imagery. These three techniques work together to convey the many emotions the singer feels when she looks back at the end of relationship. Red is a song that is about remembering a relationship and thinking about the emotions good or bad that it brought on. The first two lines of the song, Loving him is like driving a new Maserati down a dead end street /Faster than the wind, passionate as sin, ending so suddenly, provide an example of how Swift uses similes in this song. The artist is writing about how passionate, wild and reckless this progressing relationship was, even though it eventually came to an abrupt halt. Swift again makes use of the simile when she writes, Loving him is like trying to change your mind once you re already flying through the free fall. Investure, Llc, and Smith College UVA F 1537 INVESTURE, LLC, AND SMITH COLLEGE In January 2004, Alice Handy s new investment advisory firm, Investure, LLC, was attempting to land its first client, Smith College, an elite liberal arts college located in Northampton, Massachusetts with a $913 million endowment. Handy, fresh from her previous position as chief executive officer of the University of Virginia Investment Management Company (UVIMCO), had 25 years of experience managing money and a track record of success. Over her career, Handy had directed increasing amounts of funds to a class of investments known as alternative assets, which included a range of investments other than publicly traded stocks and bonds. She also found herself involved in fundraising efforts when donations to UVa s capital campaign involved life trusts. During the 1990s, as state support of higher education dwindled, endowment funds took on increasing importance for UVa and other public universities. Handy s position was restructured to enable her to dedicate more time to the investment side. The previously lowkey staff and endowment both grew rapidly as Handy s team began conducting proprietary research. Soon nearly a dozen investment professionals and five accounting and administrative staff members were managing the endowment. In 2003, after 29 years with the university, Handy determined it was time for a change. In July of that year, she announced her retirement as chief executive officer of UVIMCO, leaving behind a healthy endowment and a strong record of performance. UVIMCO s asset allocation had changed considerably during Handy s tenure, and the endowment had enjoyed strong performance (Exhibits 1 and 2). UVa s endowment had generated an average annual return of more than 13% since Handy s arrival and it had grown to almost $2 billion in market value (Exhibit 3). Through her years of service, Handy had developed an extensive list of contacts including business leaders, asset managers, venture capitalists, and philanthropists. ... • 44. Foodborne Illnesses In The United States There have been many outbreaks of foodborne illnesses in the United States which claim thousands of lives each year. I chose my essay topic based on my desire to contribute to creating awareness of simple methods of foodborne disease prevention. Also, I currently work in the healthcare service industry and I am enrolled in Community and Public Health with UoPeople. This topic is directly related to my career. Foodborne illnesses are infections of the digestive tract caused by eating infected foods or drinks. These illnesses are caused by pathogens such as harmful bacteria, parasites, and viruses. These pathogens cause death or get people hospitalized. Some examples are Salmonella, E.coli, and Norovirus. These are found in raw and undercooked ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The results showed that foods contaminated by these pathogens caused 9.4 million illnesses, 55,961 hospitalizations, and 1,351 deaths each year (p. 12). Even though people are aware of the importance of cleaning their homes, majority do not comprehend how cleaning can reduce the level of bacteria in their meals. Also, a lot of Americans undercook their meat, chicken, and egg. Most do not understand, or find it difficult to understand the safe food handling instructions on the labels of the products they buy. They even do not keep to the recommended requirements when storing food in their refrigerators. Since proper food storage reduces the rate of bacteria growth, the refrigerator temperature should be set to between 32F and 41F. (Bruhn, 2014, p. 319, 326) However, according to Doyle, et al (2015), there has been reduction in the number of outbreaks and illnesses due to E.coli infections in the past 15 years. This is due to CDC mandate that clinicians conduct laboratory testing and reporting of microbial agents that cause illnesses. As a result, foods highly at risk of getting contaminated are being monitored, inclding natural foods that contain little or no antimicrobial agents (p. 254). Also, clinicians have taken more active role in educating people about ways to prevent or reduce foodborne diseases. Washing hands properly as well as changing cutting boards after handling raw poultry or meat is very important for food ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Thomas Aquinas Point Of View On Religion Thomas Aquinas is one of the most notable philosophers whose works have been used as reference materials by people across different generations. His theological perspectives stressed the influences created by Aristotle. According to Aquinas, religion and faith remain intertwined in the logic. Thomas Aquinas believed that faith and reason are the same. Therefore, his concept of the Bibleand the Church differ from other scholars who stressed the significance of religion. The voice of reason has been echoed from one generation of philosophers to the other. Several religious figures considered the concepts shared by Aquinas from an extremist point of view. They believed that Aquinas like Aristotle diverted people from religious aspects by focusing on faith solely. Aquinas work, the Summa Theologica is the basis of the discussion. The Summa Theologica establishes that Christianity is a religion yet faith is an element that people should address from an enlightened point of view. The five volume document establishes that reason or logic often inform the actions of certain Christians. Since philosophy concerns inquisitiveness, people should not be afraid to question the things they doubt about religion . From Aquinas point of view, people should always listen to the opposing point of view when talking about Christianity. The philosopher established that one of the things he questions about Christianity is the concept of I answer. In essence, an authoritative figure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. De La Poer s The Rats In The Walls The Rats in the Walls tells the story of the last living descendent of the de la Poer line, who learns of his family heritage. The de la Poers formerly inhabited a property called Exham Priory in Wales, before Walter Delapore, his direct ancestor, killed off the remainder of his family and fled to Virginia to begin a new life. De la Poer, stricken with the death of his only son, resolves to move back to Britain and restore his family s home to its former glory. Over a century, Exham Priory has fallen into a state of squalor; yet, no cost will deter de la Poer from his mission. He finds that Exham Priory is a very peculiar construction with a very long history. Once an ancient Druidic temple, it was appropriated and styled by the invading Romans, and later the resident Saxons. Each culture added their own elements to the structure, resulting in a medieval castle on the outside with increasingly ancient architecture as one went deeper. The de la Poer family acquired the site in 1261, and thus began a very strange lineage, hated by the local peasantry, which became the monstrous subject of many folktales involving demons, rats, and the disappearance of villagers over many generations. According to legend, the de la Poers haunted the property until Walter Delapore, a chivalrous and delicate man, suddenly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 49. The Controversial Role Of Hazing In The Present Day Hazing is a common ritual found in both academic and employment settings. Although hazing was instituted a few centuries ago, its prominence can still be seen in modern day society. For that reason, this paper will examine three areas that includes the background of hazing, the viewpoint comparison on hazingthrough two peer reviewed articles, and why hazing is still controversial in the present day. Background of Hazing According to Parks, Jones, Ray, Hughey, and Cox (2015), hazing as part of a rite of passage process dates back to the beginning of mankind with the first documented instances of organized hazing coming from ancient Greece, where prospective soldiers demonstrated their loyalty through painful and uncomfortable experiences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The captain can remind teammates of the hazing prevention workshop and suggest a progressive team dinner where each senior member of the team provides a food course. (Heibert Klatt, 2001, p. 170 2; p. 17) Keep in mind that Waldron s (2012) suggestions for reducing hazing may have little influence due to the countervailing force of peer pressure (Edelman, 2005, p. 328). Therefore, it is highly unlikely that this contradictory approach will succeed using a short range tactic to replace a long range strategy (Fallacies, 2006, More..., para. 1 42; Heibert Klatt, 2001, p. 170 2). Hence, further discussions are needed to determine which author(s) presented the stronger argument. Taking all this into account, Waldron (2012) has presented a stronger argument than Josefowitz and Gadon (1989). The reason for this is due to Waldron (2012) maintaining a neutral position, while presenting strong scientific evidence on the subject of hazing. Also, the statistics presented by Waldron (2012) did not have any fallacies when compared to that of Josefowitz and Gadon (1989) (Fallacies, 2006, More..., para. 1 42). Based upon these differences and how society has changed its cultural stance on hazing, Waldron (2012) has clearly given the better argument and solution for stopping hazing. Hence, a further discussion is needed on why hazing remains a controversial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
