For this assignment, I chose to watch a Ted Talk that focused on the importance of
understanding differences. It is entitled Love No Matter What and is the
culmination of years of research done by Andrew Solomon. I chose this Ted Talk

that people have endured. One of the huge ideas I have learned throughout this
leadership course and all our topics and conversation is that we all have different

leadership class as well as what I think a student leader at Western Oregon

Oftentimes, when thinking of important battles of the infamous civil war your mind
will automatically go to the well known Battle Of Gettysburg. While that was an

we often add something to them. We can not respond to the invitation by saying no
as this could be considered as inappropriate and would create implicature. That is

My Greatest Failure
My greatest failure was how I reacted to getting a C in my middle school science
class. Growing up my grades weren t the best in middle school, but for the one
year I had to get perfect grades to go to the highschool of my choice I ended up
getting a C in my science class and ruining my chances. I had let down my family.
Seeing their faces on report card pickup just drop down in disappointed is a
miserable sight that flashes back to haunt me at times. Yet my reaction to that
failure was the real mistake I made because I had sworn to become a student that
got all A s, I had lost my self worth to a letter and had a letters dictate how I lived
my life. One letter changed me forever, I fueled my anger and frustration into
becoming the ideal student. This anger at myself, fueled with my critique of every
aspect of my being led me to work to improve my grades. I had gotten all A s for
the first time in my life that last quarter of seventh grade, with enough
determination and hard work I had become the model student I wanted to be.
Showing unparalleled growth in my parents eyes. My image started shifting from
the goofy kid to the smart kid in class. Yet, the stress of perfection and getting that

In the movie, it showed the men having longbows, making it easy for them to
attack. But, longbows were not invented then. They were invented in the 15th
century. They had crossbows though, but no longbows. In the movie, it showed a
man with an arrow pierced through his neck. The man continued to fight with this
in the way, which would be very inaccurate. This man should have been dead, or at
least unable to move. The soldiers had weapons they used during battles called
trebuchets and catapults. In the movie it shows the force and velocity of the
trebuchets to be extremely strong but, in real life, they would have launched very
