something my family has valued for many years and this is because of my
grandfather Bishop Leach Jr. Bishop Leach was born on September 17, 1924. When
he was a young child he joined Mt. Sinai A.M.E. Church in Pittsboro, NC. This
church has been very important to my family because we have been attending this
church for generations. Bishop Leach attended and graduated from Horton High
School, which later became Horton Middle School. He graduated at the shocking age
of 15. Bishop served in the United States Army once he finished high school. After
serving in the Army, he then attended North CarolinaCollege, now North Carolina
Central University (NCCU) where he graduated within three years and obtained his

The Battle Of Trench Warfare
Trench warfare is a war strategy used in the American Civil War in 1861 1865 and
the Russian Japanese War of 1904 1905, but it wasn t until World War One that trench
warfare became the standard form of fighting. World War one is best known for being
the war fought in trenches, and the ditches dug into the ground to give troops
protection from gunfire and enemy artillery. When men volunteered to fight in World
War One on the Western Front, little did they know about the living and fighting
conditions that was seen in the trenches. World War one saw massive development in
technology which allowed enemies to fight in different ways. Trench warfarewas the
most important and significant operation undertaken by troops.
Death and disease were omnipresent in the trenches. The health and the living
conditions in the trenches were one of the biggest issues faced in World War one.
Diseases in the trenches killed more soldiers than bombardment or bullets. Scraps
of discarded food, empty tins and other waste, the nearby presence of the latrine,
the general dirt of living half underground and being not able to wash or change for
a considerable length of time or weeks on end created conditions of severe health
risk (1914 1918.net, 2014). The unsanitary living conditions not only caused several
health problems but this caused vermin and parasites to be very commonly present

Franklin D Roosevelt Perseverance
In August 1921, Franklin Delano Roosevelt s world was shattered. While at his
retreat at Campobello, he was hit with a case of polio that left him paralyzed from
the waist down for the rest of his life ( Franklin Roosevelt ). He was hit with what
one would call a major setback, but which he turned into a minor setback before an
astonishing presidency. Such an event did not make him a lesser man, it made him a
better man and a stronger president. Roosevelt took on the task of being the President
of the United Statesduring one of the greatest economic crises in the world. Despite
being disabled, he guided the United States out of the endless black hole that they
were in. Perseverance was the characteristic that enabled FDR to overcome extreme...
A doctor pronounced FDR dead stating that he had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage
or a stroke. He was a man that inspired confidence and was a role model to the
Nation. Roosevelts personal courage in overcoming physical handicap and
converting tragedy into triumph will always be an inspiration to others. Roosevelt
left the United States mourning him, the man who guided them through twelve
years of hardship. As author Rebecca Larson says, Regardless of other opinions, all
would acknowledge that he had put his own personal stamp and signature on the
nation and the world, and neither would ever be the same , for better or for worse
no other president had such a deep and lasting impact in the United States like FDR

I Learned A World Without Creations
Imagine a world without creations. Imagine if everyone was the same and there
were no innovative thinkers. There would literally be nothing. Nothing would be
new and everything would be bland. With everything that is spontaneous, creative
and innovative comes a maker to show you what those words exactly mean.
Makers are what make this world so interesting. A world without makers is like a
world without color. Makers are important to society and if you decide to become
one, you will learn a lot of great lessons, meet new people and think of ideas you
may have never thought of before. In my english class, I had been studying the maker
movement. I had became a maker and I learned plenty of things while in the maker
workshops. As a maker, I learned to use familiar items in unfamiliar ways, that it s
okay to be stuck while creating and to merge science, art and technologyinto one.
Being a maker is like being an artist. You can create anything your brain comes up
with. A maker is basically a creator who thinks outside of the box to create, improve
or learn something either alone or with other makers. Makers usually create in
certain places called makerspaces. Makerspaces are creative, do it yourself spaces
where people can gather to create, invent, and learn together or by themselves.
These places are usually found in libraries or classrooms. Makers are very creative
inventors and very creative learners as well. When you become a maker, you will
learn a ton of new ideas and
