Proposed Confidentiality For Target Corporation
The proposal that I bring forth today, is for Target Corporation to obtain my
services as a change agent. All of the information needed to form a mutual
relationship with a shared vision to protect the consumer will be discussed. The
major issue will be addressed and the intervention process to correct his issue will
be displayed. The methodology to complete this intervention is determined along
with the expectations of this project. This intervention will not be complete
overnight, but a timetable will be presented to ensure goals will be meet. The fear
of trade secrets being released will be resolved with a proposed confidentiality
agreement. A simple payment process will need to be set up after certain milestones
are meet. Taking on such a significant task a major corporation should rely on an
expert, such as myself. Problem Target faces a major problem that many other
organizations are facing, keeping consumer information private. Protecting consumer
information is becoming more complicated due to the increase of technology
available to those looking to steal their information. In order to create a solution to
this problem an organizational development intervention would need to occur at a
team level. The team level is the most appropriate level due to the fact that for a
major technological change to occur across the whole organization it would involve
analysis of the team not one individual (South University Online, 2015, para. 2). A
technology breach would
Similarities Between A P And Where Are You Going Where...
In the short stories A P by John Updike and Where Are You Going, Where Have
You Been? by Joyce Carol Oates, both authors tell of story of transitioning from
childhood to adulthood. Sammy, from Updike s story, is a nineteen year old boy
whose parents got him a job as a cashier at the local A P. Connie, from Oates story,
is a pretty, blonde, fifteen year old girl who has an almost narcissistic attitude as
she has a habit of constantly checking herself and comparing herself to others. Both
of these teenagers are in the similar position of growing up, however, they are
doing so in very different ways. Sammy faces the decision of staying at his job or
leaving. His parents are friends with the manager of the store, Lengel. One day three
girls walk into the store wearing nothing but bathing suits. Seeing it is a slow day,
Sammy observes the girls as they go through the store and to his luck come to his
check out station. Lengel then sees them at checkout and confronts the girls to tell
them about the store s policy that they should be dressed decently upon entering the
store, Girls, I don t wantto argue with you. After this come in here with your
shoulders covered. It s our policy (Updike). This is where Sammy has his
transitioning experience. Upon hearing this conversation, Sammy tries be a hero for
the girls by making the decision to quit his job, The girls, and who d blame, them
are in a hurry to get out, so I say I quit to Lengel quick enough for them to hear,
Rjct Task 3
A. Supply Chain Strategy: I recommend the Keiretsu networks as the correct supply
chain strategy for the power tool company. The three main strategies are the Keiretsu
network, virtual company, vertical integration. All of them have their advantages and
disadvantages.
In a Keiretsu network the manufacture will combine the best features of all three
methods, it is part collaboration, using fewer suppliers and some vertical integration.
An example of this style of Keiretsu network would be that the tool company can
work closely with one supplier, such as a parts maker but not by buying out the
company. Here the commitment to a long term business relationship promises
continued mutual growth. They collaborate with each other and share ... Show more

In comparison a department stores has much higher turn over.
Using Inventory Turnover to Calculate Average Days to Sell a Product. Once the
inventory turn rate is calculated then calculating the number of days it takes for the
power tool company to clear its inventory is 365 days divided by inventory turn
rate of 5 times per year, take 365 Г· 5. The answer 73 is the number of days it takes
to go through its inventory. This method can also be used for benchmarking against
companies in the same business. This will help compare the inventory turnover rates.
B. b. Perfect order measure/fill rate: This method measures the error free rate of
each step in the supply chain. Error occurs when the customer has an unsatisfactory
experience with the power tool they purchased because of errors and delays in the
supply chain. The complexities of an extended supply chain make the odds against
fulfilling a perfect order challenging.
The number of defective pieces that are received by customers can be a measurement
of perfect orders. An error code can be developed for faulty power tools. The
following percentages can also be used:
Parts entry 99% correct
Delivered on time 89%
Shipped without damage 87%
All three can be added to calculate the 275/3 = 91%. Therefore, 91% would be the fill
rate.
Fulfilling a perfect order depends on the journey through the supply chain, it is filled

Evidence Of Current Nationalism Trends
Evidence of Current Nationalism Trends:
As we have established globalisation was a geo eco political phenomena, that
among many other aspects allowed the free moment of people. Migration of people
for various reasons seems to be one of the posters of the success of globalisation.
however, the important aspect is not just the act of migration usually associated with
diaspora, but also the discourses of the culture identities and loyalties. As Arjun
Appaduria (1996) argues in his book Modernity at Large , such deterritorialization
prospers on the need of the diaspora for the establishment of some sort of contact with
its homeland, as the homeland is partly invented and imagines within the
deterritorialized groups, the fantasy of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These attributes of the Pro Russian movements in Ukraine goes hand in hand and yet
parallel with the ethnic national sentiments as prescribed by Smith (1998). Global
deterritorialization creates designated ethnic groups that share ancestry myths,
histories and cultural associations as a share of common belief rather than an actual
descendant. However other nationalist theories argue that such ethnic nationalism is
associated with the defined nation and its actual ancestral descendants (Montserrat,
2007). The causation of national and transnational terrorism is quite evidently
highlighted within this realm of argumentation. Sutherland (2012), highlights the
behaviour of the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka, relating the cultural conditioning
techniques of association to that of ethnic and ancestral background. The notorious
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), even though united under the ethnic history
and nationalism, embarked on a mission in order to claim territorial, economic and
political power, however were rather branded terrorists as a way to legitimise the war
against their ethnic nationalism.
Similarly, transnational nationalism especially in events that followed the September
11 attacks, acts as a very important ordeal of ethnic national. Even though the
formation of nationalism
Compare And Contrast The Gilded And Progressive Era
All throughout history there have been divisions between different races and
classes. However, during the Gilded and Progressive era, this rift heightened. The
Gilded Age was a time of industrial growth which, brought new technologies,
businesses, and more. However, this age also brought inequality and division
among races and classes, a result of the economic disparity created by a
technologically growing society. The Progressive era was a time of reform to make
social changes in hopes of repairing the divided nation. The Gilded Ageand
Progressive era were filled with division regarding race and class, this strife was
prompted both by post Civil War racial attitudes and industrialization, which
intensified inequality. This division... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lynching was a prominent influence in the South, African Americans were
constantly attacked and threatened, a result of Southerners need to show authority.
Lynching became a social event for white Southerners, in Ida B. Wells narrative, she
accounts the horrific events of lynchings, Wells states, Here Smith was placed upon
a scaffold, six feet square and ten feet high, securely bound, within the view of all
beholders. Here the victim was tortured for fifty minutes by red hot iron brands ...
Then, being apparently dead, kerosene was poured upon him, cottonseed hulls placed
beneath him and set on fire (90). Racial classes were divided and lynchings
showcased this inequality. African Americans were scared for their lives, one wrong
action or comment could lead to their death. This constant fear caused African
Americans to partake in the great migration, migrating North in hopes to escape
persecution, running for their lives. Lynching was a common occurrence and
demonstrates the effect racial divisions had on Southern society. Lynching showcases
the catastrophic affect division in racial group has, senseless violence and
Essay On Being A True Friend
A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. Having friends
is easy but being a true friend is not always easy. To be a true friend firstly you
need to keep yours promises. Do not make a promise that you not going to keep.
Because if you do not keep your promises, your friends will definitely start to loss
confident in you. If you promise your friend to go with her to the store, if you just
cannot go, give your friend a gift and tell him or her sorry. Secondly be
dependable. Being dependable is one of the most important aspects of being a true
friend. If you are a true friend who is dependable, your friend call on you most
especially in hard times. Thirdly be honest. Honesty is the fairness and

Secondly he told me Replace stress with sweetness and try a spoonful of honey.

meaning it fights depression and anxiety. Third of all I had to walk stress out.
Because he told me when I am feeling overwhelmed or having trouble
concentrating, go for a quick stroll around the block. You ll get the benefits of
alone time, physical activity, and a few minutes to gather your thoughts! Lastly he
told me to listen to my favorite song why walking. Sometimes belting out the lyrics
to a favorite tune makes everything seem all right. Motivation is a strong tool I use
to go further in life and to achieve my dreams. I was failing my math class so I had
to motivate myself to pass. First of all I started going to class on time, making sure
I was not a minute late. Secondly I decided to pay more attention to the lesson and
ask any question I had, must especially when I don t understand it. Third of all I
also started doing all my homework and making sure I m doing it right ad turning
it in on time. Lastly I had to find a tutor to help me study. However I had to also
practice on my own time to improve my skills. You have a job interview the next
day and still don t know what to d. I have these few steps that I learn as a fraction
in my professional development lass at Concordia. First, pick the cloth you are
going to wear on the job interview the day
Personal Strengths And Weaknesses
My second strength is to seek first to understand, then be understood. There was a
time in my life that this section would have been a low scoring section for me. I
was once a person that would never put myself into the position of another to fully
establish a connection of understanding from the other persons point of view, I was
too busy. Now I have individualized consideration and I think age and career choices
are the reasons why. In an article by B. Wilson, (2003 2005), he writes that Stephen
Covey, as others, believes that the only way to establish communication in some
professional and personal situations is by becoming, in small part, the person you
are listening to . I make every attempt to do that exact procedure when employees
come to me with problems or concerns. I m no longer impatiently waiting on them to
finish their story but now I put myself in their shoes. It s important for the staff to
feel as though they can come to me with issues and this is where the idealized
influence and individual consideration come into play. Listening to the staff and
genuinely caring about them makes for a more pleasant work environment, happier
employees, and appreciative people. My third strength is Synergy. This actually
caught me by surprise, a little. Synergy is achieved my maximizing the driving
forces, minimizing the restraining forces, and combining strengths of people through
positive teamwork, so as to achieve goals that no one else could have done alone,

Similarities Between Esther And Judith
In the story of Esther, Esther is able to marry the king and win his heart through her
uncle Mordecai s instructions. The king decided to order the slaughter of the
Hebrew people in response to the claims Haman made about the Jewish people.
Upon finding out about the law Mordecai instantly goes into a state of mourning and
tells Esther. Once Esher found out she prepared a meal for the king and Haman and
let the king know in the second dinner that she informs the king that she is a Hebrew
and the king grants Esther permission to eliminate the law. Judith s story however is
extremely different, instead judith uses a more straightforward approach. King
Nabuchodonosor, decides to eliminate the Hebrew people by surround the land and

I Hate Reading
I hate reading. This mantra ran through my head with the bitter intensity of a six
year old s anger. I could be watching the crackling fireplace with imagined fairies
that darted through the flame and lived in houses made of burning wood. I could be
climbing the trees with branches that stretched twig fingers toward the endless sky. I
could normally be doing a myriad of different possibilities, but not today.
My mother claimed I needed to learn to read before second grade began, and
trapped me in is a single activity. Instead of doing my favored activities I
compliantly allowed the rough carpet to press indentations into my skin as I began
to read. The book s smooth cover clung to my fingertips as I looked for meaning in
the indecipherable syllables. I sat with water threatening to spill from my eyes,
lost in a sea of letters with waves of words battering me from all sides. However, I
blinked and tentatively pressed my lips into the hum of a m . I searched the depths
of my mind for the meaning of the next letter, letting the hum trail into eternity. Once
again, I identified the letter with time and opened my mouth to the sound of an a .
Instinctively, I looked to my mother for aid in my plight, as I desperately wracked
my mind for the sound of the last letter. With her help, I... Show more content on

Strangely, I found myself sitting still and solemn instead of jumping with the joy of
my victory. The battered binding of another book called to me, and consequently, I
opened the seventh book of the series and kept reading without pause. By the first
day of second grade, I had completed the series and replicated my experience
through other books, constantly evading the empty feeling of a book s end. When
my friends questioned my unusual custom of carrying a book with me as if it was
one of my limbs, I simply told them, I love
Subjection of Women by John Stuart Mill
At the very beginning of this work of his, The subjection of Women , Mill sets
forth the objective of the essay. He explains in clear terms that the legal
subordination of one sex to the other is wrong in itself. This principle which
regulates the existing social relations between the two sexes ought to be replaced by
a principle of perfect equality. This principle should admit no power or privileges on
the one side or disabilities on the other.
Mill rejects society s claim that the subordination of women is natural . According to
him, this is a product of custom and however universal they may be, they afford
presumptions. He says that they ought not create any prejudice in favour of the very
arrangement which places women in social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Infact they do not want them to be slaves but to be their favourites. That is the very
reason why they have made the best efforts to enslave their minds. He elaborates his
argument saying that men wanted simple obedience from women and hence the
educated them on such lines so as to make them submissive and yielding. They were
brought up with the belief that they were not supposed to govern or rule over men.
Inspite of the handicaps which a women bears, he strongly defends the cause of
women saying that these fragments of the past are discordant with the future and
must necessarily disappear.
The essay is basically concerned about the admissibility of women to all functions
and occupations, which has been retained as the monopoly of the stronger sex and is
in the quest for the equality of women. It has been wrongly believed that women are
incapable of certain employments which are open to even the basest of males and the
society s very thinking that they, women, depart from the real path of success and
happiness when they aspire to it. Such specialties include politic, science and
philosophy. On the contrary, many women have proved themselves capable of
everything, perhaps without a single exception, which is done by men. The unfitness
of women for these occupations is sometimes based on what has come to be known as
the nature of women according to which the mental constitution of women differs
from that of men.

According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, such proposals were
considered by 34 states in 2011, and in 32 states in 2012# . Nine states now have
laws in place that require citizens to show government issued photo identification
before casting a valid ballot. Because of these laws, two things happened in the
2012 election, first is that there was a large reduction of black youth voters.
According to the Brennan Center for Justice at the New York University School of
Law, as many as 25 percent of African Americans may not have government issued

disproportionately lower rates than whites, the effect of these new laws were
greater among young african americans than for young whites. According to the
estimates of two experts Jon Rogowski and Cathy Cohan#, between 538,000 and
696,000 young people of color were demobilized by these new laws in the states
that have passed them. Along the way, we have heard certain state lawmakers

these laws to have electoral impacts. These photo I.D. laws are not the only laws that

Examples Of Delusion In Don Quixote
Miguel Cervantes Don Quixote is a masterpiece in many senses of the word: at the
time of its conception, it was hailed as a revolutionary work of literature that defined
a genre, in later centuries regarded as an acerbic social commentary, a slightly
misshapen romantic tragedy, and even as a synthesis of existentialist and post
modernist features. At the centre of this Spanish satirical chronicle is the perplexing
character Don Quixote. Don Quixote s personality and perspective is rapidly
established fromsince the beginning of the novel, revealing unabashedly to readers
that he is mad. The source of his madness lies in the extent to which Don Quixote
acts on his delusions and projections unto reality as he saunters through Cervantes
Andalusia. Don Quixote s delusions have two primary functions in the novel:
demonstrating the reality and tragedy of Cervantes manifestation of idyllic themes
of love and chivalry, and revealing certain characteristics about narration. A role of
Don Quixote s delusions is to provide a glimpse into a situation where the chivalric
code is implemented. Don Quixote is mad at first glance:... Show more content on

Transmitting Data Within Locations With Sporadic...
Transmitting data in locations with sporadic connectivity is a huge challenge. The
Select Bipartisan Committee that investigated the Hurricane Katrina concluded that
communication provides a critical path for relief in emergency and disaster
situations. It was observed that the rescue efforts as well as the command and control
awareness, was greatly affected by severe network failures and interoperability issues.
This paper aims at analysing the requirements of such a network and suggests a
completely wireless communication solution that can be deployed reliably. In the
event of a catastrophic disaster, whether natural or man made, the efficiency of rescue
teams and disaster response operations is very critical to life saving. Unfortunately,
communication systems, including cellular networks, may be partially or completely
comprised which render the emergency districts disconnected to the outside world.
Thus, the increase in the survival rate requires breaking of the communication
bottleneck. It is imperative that the communication network employed in a disaster
affected area is highly resilient and robust to further damages. The network will be
primarily used to communicate to the control rooms to provide and receive regular
updates and additional requirements for personnel or machinery and warnings of any
imminent dangers. The network would also serve to send warning messages to the
people in the affected area. Emergency telecommunication systems need to deploy

The Failure of Integration Essay
The Failure of Integration
After four decades of school integration America has given up, and the question is:
quot; Why? quot;. I believe the answer is because absolutely nothing worked!
Bussing was a hassle, most magnet schools were set up for false reasons, and
everything was very costly. With everything they tried there were still no
significant changes in the test scores of the minority students. So now here we are
in the late 21st century and it can all be summed up with what Chris Hansen of the
American Civil Liberties Union in New York City believes the courts are saying,
quot;We still agree with the goal of school desegregation, but it s too hard, and we re
tired of it, and we give up. quot; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
quot; There is evidence that federal courts are realizing that the 25 year old policy of
busing to achieve racial balance in schools has not worked as a means for ending
segregation or improving the academic performance of minority students.
quot;(NCPA)
Busing did not work out as planned; scores for minority students were not higher and
neither was their happiness. Peter Schmidt opinion is that quot;after seeing some
districts labyrinthine busing maps, that mandating the integration of classrooms has
cost a good number of students any chance of a fair and quality education. quot;
Another reason why plans for integration stopped was that many believed they were
morally wrong. Mr. Symington, a Republican, said, quot; The education of
Arizona s children should not be held prisoner by a racial quota system. quot; While
Edward Newsome feels it s just patronizing to blacks, quot;that the courts are so
willing to assume that anything that is predominately black must be inferior. quot;
There were also problems with magnet school programs. Most were designed to
attract white students to predominately black schools and vice versa. The
communities were using magnet schools to lure whites away from private schools.
Along with being unjust the magnet school plan also did not work. In 1985 one
district was 73.6% minority, 11 years later the district is now 75.9% minority.
Missouri v. Jenkins stopped the unjustness of Judge
The Use Of Lichen And Its Effect On The Environment
Lichens are widely distributed in many different areas and can be found inhabited
within harsh habitats such as dry arid hot deserts and freezing mountain tops.
Environmental factors such as temperature, sun exposure levels, and the pH levels of
soil influence the growth of Lichens. Their natural structure and symbiotic
relationship with fungus and a photosynthetic partner has given these organisms the
ability to survive such harsh and exposed environments. Their ability to absorb
substances and minerals dissolved in rain and dew has also enabled Lichento live and
survive in such extreme areas, but this ability has had the effect of making them
very sensitive to pollutants in the air; and therefore cannot survive in polluted areas
such as the city because of automobile traffic such as cars, and industrial activity.
Lichen can be found growing within soil, on the surface layer of rocks, and most
commonly, they are found growing on the bark of trees (Raven et al. 2010, p. 626
627).
The graph above shows that the south aspect of most of the trees in Campbelltown
Campus had the greatest surface area of lichen coverage on the tree trunk, compared
to the other aspects (east, north and west). The east aspect had the second highest
average cell count of lichen coverage. The north and west aspects had a similar cell
count which varied by a small amount, with the north aspect having the lowest
amount of lichen coverage, and the west being the second lowest.

How You Make Your Job Application Stand Out
How To Make Your Job Application Stand Out Getting a job sounds like an easy
proposition, doesn t it? After all, everyone else seems to have one, so how hard
can it be? Unfortunately, getting a job that you enjoy, that pays well and that
offers you something more than 40 hours a week of drudgery isn t that easy. There
are huge numbers of people out there looking for exactly the same thing. When the
right job pops up, you have to be aware that you re not going to be the only person
clamouring after it. With so much competition, you need a strategy to make the
employer sit up and take a closer look at your CV over the next person s. We re going

Firstly, even if the employer doesn t read it, having it shows that you have at least
taken the time to find out something about the company and personalise your
application in some way. Leaving it out and simply submitting your generic CV
immediately shows the recruiter that you couldn t be bothered doing ten minutes
legwork to individualise your application for the position. That s not a good look
right off the bat, and many employers out there will just throw your CV in the bin
without purusing it further. Sure, you got noticed, but it was for the wrong
reasons and got you the wrong result. Many job seekers think the best way to stand
out is to make their CV fun . Images, colours, jokes, puns and funny fonts are all
popular choices, and all of them are bad ideas. Just don t do it please! Okay, maybe
that s harsh, but generally, unless their is a specific reason why the organisation
you re interested in would like that sort of thing, trying to stand out through
superfluous aesthetic choices isn t going to work. Understand Your Application So
far it seems like we ve only told you what not to do. But what about things that you

To Build A Fire, By Jack London
Common Sense vs. Nature To Build a Fire is a short story, where the author Jack
London uses the setting to tell the story. The man is the main character that
experiences several catastrophic events, along with his dog. The man experiences
such trouble due to his own stupidity. He does not see the weather as threatening
and decides to travel the dangerous path. This leads to him freezing his hands,
losing two fires, and almost eating his dog to stay alive. As readers dig into the
story, they can see that the setting is the deciding factor of the man s fate. London
devotes the entire story to the setting. The setting portrays the mood and visual of the
story. London starts off the story by saying that day had dawned cold... Show more

The story is told in third person, which makes the narrator all knowing. The
narrator gives readers his insight; for the narrator knows the man s thoughts and
also some of the dog s thoughts. The narrator leaves the man nameless to aide in the
development of the setting. Readers cannot become attached to someone that they
do not know. Usually story are told in first person; and this gives a more personable
feel. Readers thrive on a connection with the main character to aide in the enjoyment
of the story. Without the relationship, readers focus more on the setting. The
narrator gives readers a vivid description of the snowy Yukon trail; and readers can
imply what will happen to the man and his dog. The way the narrator tells the story
allows readers to catch on the man s
Causes And Effects Of Homelessness
We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The
poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We
must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty (Brainy Quote, 1997).
In the past homelessness was known as a result of any war. Nowadays, the
percentage of homeless people is around 60% worldwide. Also, the concept of
homelessnessis an expression that covers a huge number of countries which means
it shifts from nation to nation. Individuals who are needy are regularly unfit to earn
and keep up a standard, protected secure and sufficient stay. Being caused mainly
by the individual s conditions, homelessness can affect people s health and personal
life. To begin with, individual conditions are major causes of homelessness, and
they are quite numerous. For instance, the past of the individuals could be packed
with shocking events. Some people have really hard time getting over them, and
they always cause them many psychological or physical problems that may hinder
their development in life. Shocking events may include loss of job or money.
Research (as cited in Gowan, 2010) shows that 22.61% of homeless people are not
working seriously to earn enough money. In addition, personal crises, whether social
or economic have a huge impact on the individual s present situation. If someone
faces bankruptcy they have a higher chance of facing homelessness in the future.

Reaction Of The Maillard Reaction
Introduction
The non enzymatic reaction of reducing sugars with amino groups of amino acids,
peptides and proteins is called as non enzymatic glycosylation or simply glycation.
This non enzymatic reaction ultimately results in the formation of complex brown
pigments and protein protein crosslinks that were first studied under defined
conditions by Maillard in the early 1900s (Maillard and Gautier, 1912) and the
reaction came to known as the Maillard reaction. There is a condensation reaction
between reducing sugar and free amino acids at the amino terminus or susceptible Оµ
amino group of lysine residues of proteins producing labile N substituted
glycosylamine (Schiff base) that may undergo two sequential rearrangements,
forming a stable Amadori product (Fayle Gerrard, 2002). The reducing sugars
namely, glucose, fructose, galactose, mannose, ribose and certain carbohydrate
relatives are inherently reactive toward nucleophilic groups. Glucose is the least
reactive among common sugars because it exists in least concentration in the open
chain form (Paulsen and Pflughaupt, 1980). Amadori rearrangement was a key early
step in the Maillard reaction (Hodge, 1955). Early glycation directs the formation of
Schiff s bases and Amadori products that further oxidized to advanced glycated end
products (AGEs) (Chetyrkin et al., 2008). Studies have shown that the glycation
process (in the early stage where the interaction of sugars, such as glucose, with free
amino groups of lysine and

Although there are many positive outcomes of a camera there are also negatives

Family And The Language Institute

Betty and I are from the same town, same city. We met at the language institute, she
was 16 and I was 18, but we didn t know each other before that. Even though our
families were living about a mile apart; we didn t know each other. Our families
knew each other, but not us. Betty went to a girls school, I went to a boys school,
so we didn t meet until we went to the institute. We were good friends for a year,
we had different friends in the school. Then things kind of got in such a way that
we started going out and became serious. That year we played matchmakers for
other friends! Betty had a friend that was crazy about me and I had a friend that
was interested in one of her cousins. So we did the matchmaking. We dated for
seven years before we were able to get married. We couldn t get married over in
Argentina because she was going to school and I was going to school, so we were
not going to live with our parents. That was not an option. On December 30th it
will be 44 years since we got married, almost 51 since we met. We met in 1964, in
1955 we started dating and got married in 1971. It was the English that got us
together. It was in our destiny that we were going to be here in the States speaking
the language.

Acetic Acid Concentration Lab Report
In this experiment, the concentration of acetic acid in a sample of vinegar was
calculated. The sample used for the experiment was sample 4, created on 2/22/2017.
The concentration was calculated by titrating the vinegar with NaOH. Unfortunately,
NaOH does not form a pure solution so its concentration also had to be calculated.
This was done by using it to titrate a solution of KHP, which does form a pure
solution. Once the concentration of NaOH was known, it could be used to calculate
the mols of acetic acidin a known volume of vinegar, giving us the concentration.
This will result in the calculated mass of acetic acid to be higher. This is because it
appears that additional NaOH was required to titrate the solution, and the mols ...

This was done by titrating the vinegar with a base that had a calculated concentration.
The final average concentration after three trials was 0.5285% by mass. All of the
measurements used were taken to four significant figures. One potential source of
error is the use of an indicator and titration. In order to induce a change in the color of
the solution, it must become slightly basic, this means that more NaOH was added
than was actually required to neutralize the acetic acid. This error would indicate that
the concentration of acetic acid was slightly higher than it really is; unfortunately, it
is unavoidable with the current experiment setup. Another problem with the titration
process is that the base can only be added in drops, limiting the precision even more.
Aside from these limitations it appears that the process yielded fairly accurate results,
with only a 5.706% error when compared to the industry
Essay on Glass Ceiling
The Concept of the Glass Ceiling
Women from birth are looked at as inferior to men. As a society we label babies by
the color of their blanket when they are born. Boys are given blue as girls are
given pink blankets. This from the start separates the two genders. As boys grow
they are given action figures and are taught to play rough games, and girls are given
dolls and taught to play nice. These differences continue to cause a gap between the
two genders.
As the American society has progressed, there are aspects that have failed to
revolutionize. Americans have been unsuccessful in recognizing the equality of
women in general. The intelligence of a woman has always been looked down upon
by the male gender. Johanne Toussaint,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The, Break the Glass Ceiling Foundation, who stands for equal opportunity for
women and minorities, have done extensive research on the glass ceiling barrier.
They have determined that the glass ceiling can appear in many forms. The first
form is the lack of management commitment to establish systems, policies, and
practices for achieving workplace diversity and upward mobility. This form means
that women are unable to move up in the business due to a lack of upward
mobility. Women are able to be promoted past a certain position. Not only is the
business form of workplace affected by this barrier, but there also exist the barrier in
the government department. Toussaint proves this statement by the fact that only
forty women have served on the highest court of thirty states and only five have
presided over their state s court as chief justice. Only 5.4 percent of all federal
judges were women at the time of Sandra Day O Connor s appointment.
Janeen Baxter, a professor from the University of Tasmania and Erik Olin Wright, a
professor from the University of Wisconsin Madison, also demonstrate the truth of
this glass ceiling form. Fewer than 0.5 percent of the 4,012 highest paid managers in
top companies in the United States are women, while fewer than five percent of senior
management in the Fortune 500 corporations are women and minorities. Although
women have held government jobs since 1992 and made up eighty six percent of

Why Is Hamlet Truly Mad
Is Hamlet Truly Mad? One of the largest debates in the literary world is whether
Hamlet was actually mad, or if he feigned it to disconcert Claudius and others close
to him. The question of whether or not is similar to that of whether or not Gertrude
was aware that the cup was poisoned. Personally, I believe that Hamletwas not mad,
but rather delusional; making himself mad to fit his own goals, rather than simply
being such. He had many soliloquys debating whether or not to appear mad to others,
but also showed pieces of madness through his obsession with murder. As a result,
Hamlet was not mad, but he was not of sound mind, either. Not soon after
beingdiagnosed with melancholy, or depression, after his father s death, he tells his
friends that he will pretend to act mad. HAMLET:How strange or odd some er I bear
myself
(As I perchance hereafter shall think meet
To put an antic disposition on) (Act I, Scene 5)
However, even before he first met his father s ghost he was already melancholy,
and depression can often lead to irrational decisions. Sure, he was not fully mad ,
and still had some sanity, but his sane self purposefully tried to throw conscience out
of the window in order to achieve his goal to kill Claudius. In addition, most sane
people would not actually kill a person, much less plot about it as thoroughly as he
had. In the third act, even Claudius doubts that Hamlet is truly mad. Many of his
guardsmen do believe it, but Claudius is unconvinced of how

Best of all they finished second and are going to play Champions League football

The notion of our concept is to change the ways in which prices are perceived by
customers while maintaining the same quality products. The goal here is to offer
products that are a bit more expensive but within the dollar range from our
competitors. More specifically, for a same sized item sold at the dollar store, Reed
will be charging a higher price for our product, but within a one dollar range. For
the same product in a smaller size than the dollar store item, Reed will be charging
the same price. To illustrate this point, take for instance, a 300 mL ketchup bottle
sold at the dollar store for $1. That same product will be sold at Reed for $1.30 or
alternatively, $1.00 for a 200 mL bottle. Another adjustment Reed can adopt is to
price products in a way that the tens decimal place is moved down. So instead of
charging the regular $2.25, we can charge $2.19 before taxes. The figures vary
slightly and are fairly hard to detect. As a result, the price differences become
negligible and easy to for customers to disregard.
A third strategy is the increase in product varieties and introduction of new items with
different features. Also recommended is the use of reference pricing, or the fair price
consumers expect to pay. If ketchup prices are generally deemed to hover around
$2.00 for a 300 mL bottle, the
The Scandal Of The Enron Scandal
Accounting is a necessary and vital part of maintaining any business, it is needed to
file taxes, know how much one has in assets and liabilities, and indicate to investors
whether the company would be a profitable undertaking. However, sometimes the
accounting goes horribly wrong when people, even those who seem to be moral and
uncorrubtable, fudge the numbers. By inflating books, they can get away with
billions of dollars in fraudand make nice bonuses for themselves. However, these
acts of greed affect not only the fraudulent person, but their families, coworkers, and
other businesses. There are several ways massive accounting fraud has taken place
in companies, from increasing depreciation, to not reporting debt, to right out
making up numbers to report. These frauds have been detected in multiple ways as
well whistleblowers, internal audits, and even the fraudulent people themselves. The
effect of these scandals have taken a heavy toll on businesses financially and on
people involved emotionally. One scandal that had a lot of family involvement and
heartache was the Bernie Madoff scandal in 2008. Bernie Madoff, along with his

The main gist of these free market reforms have been captured in the Washington
Consensus ideas. The neoliberal era refers to a period during which these believes
were widely upheld and respective reforms were introduced. In the developed
countries it is most often Ronald Regan in the United States and Margaret Thatcher
in the United Kingdom, who are presented as the main neoliberal agents. The
international economic institutions (IMF, Worldbank and WTO), which conducted
structural adjustment programmes are often seen as those that imposed these
reforms on the developing world. The neoliberal set of policies is often connected
to increasing financialisation of the world economy (Fine, 2009). Finance did not
only become a greater part of GDP but above all it became more strategically
important for economic development. Stock of global financial assets in years 1980
2007 has increased tenfold and constituted almost 4.5 times the multiple of world
GDP (Palma, 2009). It has been suggested that while the activities of a financial
system in the neoliberal era consume more of national income, they become
detrimental to the real economy (Dymski, 2011). This is due to the transformation of
the relationship created between the lender and the borrower in a neoliberal era,
which will be explored in greater detail further. The term financial fragility refers to a
situation where the economy is vulnerable to financial crisis. It suggests

Dayton and Shoto (2006) present a case study regarding an educational leadership
department at a major research university, faculty members have become disgruntled
as a result of a declining organizational culture fueled by a lack of leadership from an
insecure departmental chairman. The department itself had experienced a long
standing positive history within the university, and was a cash cow due to the number
of credit hours, tuition funding per faculty, and local and state service projects.
Despite this background, the future of the facultywas uncertain, as their value to the
university had diminished and changeswithin the university were occurring to which
they were unresponsive.
Coupled with these changes, great tension and conflicts within the department
signaled to the faculty members that what had been was no more , that is, their
world had changed and the positive experiences that they had come to enjoy was no

Koby Mcewen Research Paper
They call him the Maple Mamba.
Utah State freshman point guard Koby McEwen was the highest rated and one of the
most highly anticipated recruits in the history of Utah State basketball, and midway
through his first season with the Aggies he s already showing the fans why.
Though the Aggies have fallen short of expectations this season, spending much of
the season in the bottom half of Mountain West Conference standings, the freshman s
play has been a silver lining for the program, and a source of optimism moving
forward for Utah State faithful.
It doesn t take a professional analyst or a basketball scout to realize the Aggies have
something special with McEwen. Whether it is his play on the court, his overall
competitiveness and determination ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was a top recruit in high school, but that doesn t really mean anything now that I m
in college. I ve got to start over again.
Pre season awards don t always translate to success on the court, but McEwen s
stats this season back up the hype. He is averaging 15.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and
2.8 assists per game, all while shooting 51 percent from the field. He is also widely
viewed as the frontrunner for the postseason freshman of the year award, as he ranks
No. 1 among Mountain West freshman in points, rebounds, assists and minutes per
game.
McEwen s high school coach, Curtis Condie, isn t surprised by the attention and
success the star freshman has been able to garner so early on in his career, saying it
is exactly what he expected from him. Condie, a Utah State graduate, coached
McEwen during his senior year where the team achieved a 29 4 record.
Though he captured the respect of coaches and media around the league early on, it
took a little bit longer for McEwen to feel comfortable in a leadership role on the
team.
You don t want to step on anyone s toes, especially the seniors, McEwen said. You
ve gotta come here and earn your stripes before you can start telling everyone what to
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy can help kids with different needs to improve cognitive,
physical, sensory, and motor skills in order to enhance their self esteem and sense of
accomplishments. It also focuses on helping people with a physical, sensory or
cognitive disability be as independent as possible in all areas of his or her life. The
body and mind are not separate functions; therefore, motor development activities are
important for young children. Young children learn through sensory motor functions
and will impact their social, emotional, and cognitive development. Children have
many significant occupations, which form a significant foundation for the roles they
will take on as adults. These include: player; self career includes the activities... Show

In the preschool setting there are many kinds of occupational therapy interventions
that can be made in the classroom. Examples of occupational therapy interventions in
school settings can include: classroom consultation, creating learning environments
that eliminate visual distractions, preferential seating, positional adaptations such as
adapted seating or cushions that enable children to move while seated, individualized
or small group therapy to improve visual motor skills, writing alternatives, such as
one handed typing, for students with disabilities , and adaptations such as a pencil
grip or weighted spoon to improve fine motor control . These interventions are done
by the early interventionist, speech therapist, and the occupational therapist. (Khol
1984) The amount of time the occupational therapist spends with a child depends
on the need of the child. A lot 3 and four year old receives occupational therapy one
time a week for 30 minutes. It is an IEP team decision when deciding times for any
type of therapy. Parent, teacher, and service providers will look at the deficits and
then decide the amount of time that would be beneficial to meeting the student s
Adverse Development for Children in Pageants
I remember being home one day, surfing through the television channels. I
stumbled on TLC, and saw a show named Toddlers in Tiaras. The show is about
child beauty pageants and all the work children have to do, and also all the money
parents put into it. It portrays how crazy some moms could be, and how spoiled
some children are. Beauty pageants can boost confidence and self esteem, but it is
degrading to women all over the world. Only one part deals with intelligence, but
that doesn t prove anything. Someone could easily come up with an answer out of
thin air, say it out loud and everyone would think she is brilliant because of how
much words they say. Child beauty pageants deprive children of their childhood.
Parents become obsessed with winning and they take away the joy that their
children could possibly have while in or preparing for a pageant. The controversial
question on beauty pageants is: Does competing in beauty pageants adversely affect
child development? My answer is yes it does, and in the following I will explain
why. Some pageant parents don t adequately prepare their kids for pageants, so the
girls don t really know what to expect. If they don t win, they might take it personally
and get hurt feelings. Children might end up feeling unattractive or inadequate in
some other way. Child pageants are also time consuming. To be competitive in the
larger pageants, contestants have to spend hours practicing their smile, their walk,
and their turns. The day of the

Discuss How the Characters Of Eddie, Beatrice and Catherine contribute to the
dramatic effects of A View From The Bridge Character Studies The various
characteristics, including the flaws of the characters, act as a great catalyst to the
tragedy at hand throughout the play as they portray and describe the characters
emotion and thoughts towards one another. Catherine Catherine is a very naГЇve
woman who has not really experienced much of the world, but is eager to. She has
grown up in a warm nurturing environment and so has grown into a very innocent
and open character. Catherine expresses her innocence by the way she will say what
she the thinks without a moment of thought towards the consequences, (wondrously)

We also see the extent of Eddies influence over her when he tries to persuade her
not to marry Rodolfo, as she begins to doubt Rodolpho s motives for marrying her,
we see know this by the uncertainty in her voice, when Eddie tells her that he s only
bowin to his passport. She says I don t think he s even thinking about it and Oh, no,
Eddie, I don t think so . However Catherine finally manages to overcome her doubt
in Rodolpho due to the deep trust that she has placed in him, as she gradually
distances herself from Eddie and draws Rodolpho closer. When Catherine sleeps
with Rodolpho she seems to have a new found sense of independence and appears
to have developed a backbone, it is at this point that she completely disconnects
herself from Eddie, from this point on Catherine begins to side against Eddie in
arguments and go against his word. However it is really when Eddie betrays Rodolfo
and Marco that Catherine shows how
Jelly Beans Experiment
Aim: to test taste and smell between females and males by using jelly beans and to
see if there is a difference between the genders by the results.
Apparatus/Equipment:
A cup of water to get rid of the taste between each testing. Jelly beans to help with
the experiment for taste and smell (supplied by the teacher). A blind fold (optional_
when testing to make sure they do not know which jelly bean it will be. A five column
table to record results. Plastic bag, preferably zip lock, or a cup to keep the jelly
beans stored in and for hygiene purposes.
Hypothesis: if males and females were tested on their ability to correctly identify taste
and smell by using jelly beans, then females would have a higher chance to
distinguish the correctly given jelly bean based on their abilities. Research from Yale
University has proven that this is due to women tend to have more sensitive palates
and more taste buds on their tongue then males. ... Show more content on

Marie Martorano Research Paper
Leisure at the turn of the twentieth century was a new found type of freedom and
entertainment, not only for the children, but for the entire family. It was a way for
numerous families to spend quality time together but in a more modern and
convenient way. Entertainment before the twentieth century consisted of household
entertainment, such as board games, and backyard games like tennis, and football
amongst others. When compared to leisure in the twentieth century, many of these
activities were seen as outdated , as more and more people started to adopt the new
ways of entertainment. Some examples were the openings of catalogs, sports,
cinemas, amusement parks. Thus, with the openings of amusement parks created a
stir and curiosity in the public, which caused the increase... Show more content on

Martorano is a women native to Bensonhurst who in this interview recalls the
highlights of visiting coney islands and all the wonderful memories she spent with
her family in the 1970s. In the interview she recalls that her and her brother and
family had been visiting coney island since about the age of nine or ten, which had
slowly become a wonderful tradition and an important part of her life. She then
goes on to describing what activities and rides her and her family would get on.
She claims. We had to do Spook A Rama, had to do it, it was a must do. She also
states that they would then visit the wonder wheel, but it had to be the moving cars,
because they didn t want the stationary cars. That was most of her experience at
Coney Island, once the fireworks started they would all start heading home. But she
then further explains that not everything was black and white, she says that the
Spook A Rama was a scary thing from her personal point of view as a child, because
even though they knew the highlight or scars of the ride they still enjoyed riding them
Evaluating A Blue Ocean Strategy A Buyer Utility Map
According to Kim and Mauborgne (2005), when formulating a blue ocean strategy a
buyer utility map can help managers obtain the proper perspective of their product or
service s utility to its buyers (p. 121). The utility map can help managers at
ExxonMobil understand the value of their product throughout the buyer experience
cycle. The utility levers reflect the many ways that motor oilcan have a negative or
positive impact. In addition, understanding how to increase motor oil s value can
help the company identify the biggest blocks to buyer utility. The greatest blocks
to customer utility often represent the best opportunities to create exceptional
value (Kim Mauborgne, 2005, p. 122). For example, if ExxonMobil can formulate
a better, more environmentally safe blend of motor oil, it will create an exceptional
value for the customer (figure 1.3 below). Currently, there are very few motor oil
manufacturers that create environmentally safe versions. Though the company is
one of the world s largest publically traded oil and gas company, creating such a value
will keep them ahead of the competition as well as creating a larger market share (
2014 Summary , 2014).
Synopsis on Blocks to Customer Utility Today s customers demand a lot more from
the utility of any product or service they are interested in purchasing. Customers
expect quality products and services, competitive pricing and certain level of control
over their transactions and their provider to engage with them.

All of the information needed to form a mutual relationship with a shared vision to protect the consumer will be discussed. The major issue will be addressed and the intervention process to correct his issue will be displayed. The methodology to complete this intervention is determined along with the expectations of this project. This intervention will not be complete overnight, but a timetable will be presented to ensure goals will be meet. The fear of trade secrets being released will be resolved with a proposed confidentiality agreement. A simple payment process will need to be set up after certain milestones are meet. Taking on such a significant task a major corporation should rely on an expert, such as myself. Problem Target faces a major problem that many other organizations are facing, keeping consumer information private. Protecting consumer information is becoming more complicated due to the increase of technology available to those looking to steal their information. In order to create a solution to this problem an organizational development intervention would need to occur at a team level. The team level is the most appropriate level due to the fact that for a major technological change to occur across the whole organization it would involve analysis of the team not one individual (South University Online, 2015, para. 2). A technology breach would

In the short stories A P by John Updike and Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? by Joyce Carol Oates, both authors tell of story of transitioning from childhood to adulthood. Sammy, from Updike s story, is a nineteen year old boy whose parents got him a job as a cashier at the local A P. Connie, from Oates story, is a pretty, blonde, fifteen year old girl who has an almost narcissistic attitude as she has a habit of constantly checking herself and comparing herself to others. Both of these teenagers are in the similar position of growing up, however, they are doing so in very different ways. Sammy faces the decision of staying at his job or leaving. His parents are friends with the manager of the store, Lengel. One day three girls walk into the store wearing nothing but bathing suits. Seeing it is a slow day, Sammy observes the girls as they go through the store and to his luck come to his check out station. Lengel then sees them at checkout and confronts the girls to tell them about the store s policy that they should be dressed decently upon entering the store, Girls, I don t wantto argue with you. After this come in here with your shoulders covered. It s our policy (Updike). This is where Sammy has his transitioning experience. Upon hearing this conversation, Sammy tries be a hero for the girls by making the decision to quit his job, The girls, and who d blame, them are in a hurry to get out, so I say I quit to Lengel quick enough for them to hear,
  • 4. Rjct Task 3 A. Supply Chain Strategy: I recommend the Keiretsu networks as the correct supply chain strategy for the power tool company. The three main strategies are the Keiretsu network, virtual company, vertical integration. All of them have their advantages and disadvantages. In a Keiretsu network the manufacture will combine the best features of all three methods, it is part collaboration, using fewer suppliers and some vertical integration. An example of this style of Keiretsu network would be that the tool company can work closely with one supplier, such as a parts maker but not by buying out the company. Here the commitment to a long term business relationship promises continued mutual growth. They collaborate with each other and share ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In comparison a department stores has much higher turn over. Using Inventory Turnover to Calculate Average Days to Sell a Product. Once the inventory turn rate is calculated then calculating the number of days it takes for the power tool company to clear its inventory is 365 days divided by inventory turn rate of 5 times per year, take 365 Г· 5. The answer 73 is the number of days it takes to go through its inventory. This method can also be used for benchmarking against companies in the same business. This will help compare the inventory turnover rates. B. b. Perfect order measure/fill rate: This method measures the error free rate of each step in the supply chain. Error occurs when the customer has an unsatisfactory experience with the power tool they purchased because of errors and delays in the supply chain. The complexities of an extended supply chain make the odds against fulfilling a perfect order challenging. The number of defective pieces that are received by customers can be a measurement of perfect orders. An error code can be developed for faulty power tools. The following percentages can also be used: Parts entry 99% correct Delivered on time 89% Shipped without damage 87% All three can be added to calculate the 275/3 = 91%. Therefore, 91% would be the fill rate. Fulfilling a perfect order depends on the journey through the supply chain, it is filled with

Evidence Of Current Nationalism Trends Evidence of Current Nationalism Trends: As we have established globalisation was a geo eco political phenomena, that among many other aspects allowed the free moment of people. Migration of people for various reasons seems to be one of the posters of the success of globalisation. however, the important aspect is not just the act of migration usually associated with diaspora, but also the discourses of the culture identities and loyalties. As Arjun Appaduria (1996) argues in his book Modernity at Large , such deterritorialization prospers on the need of the diaspora for the establishment of some sort of contact with its homeland, as the homeland is partly invented and imagines within the deterritorialized groups, the fantasy of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These attributes of the Pro Russian movements in Ukraine goes hand in hand and yet parallel with the ethnic national sentiments as prescribed by Smith (1998). Global deterritorialization creates designated ethnic groups that share ancestry myths, histories and cultural associations as a share of common belief rather than an actual descendant. However other nationalist theories argue that such ethnic nationalism is associated with the defined nation and its actual ancestral descendants (Montserrat, 2007). The causation of national and transnational terrorism is quite evidently highlighted within this realm of argumentation. Sutherland (2012), highlights the behaviour of the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka, relating the cultural conditioning techniques of association to that of ethnic and ancestral background. The notorious Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), even though united under the ethnic history and nationalism, embarked on a mission in order to claim territorial, economic and political power, however were rather branded terrorists as a way to legitimise the war against their ethnic nationalism. Similarly, transnational nationalism especially in events that followed the September 11 attacks, acts as a very important ordeal of ethnic national. Even though the formation of nationalism

However, during the Gilded and Progressive era, this rift heightened. The Gilded Age was a time of industrial growth which, brought new technologies, businesses, and more. However, this age also brought inequality and division among races and classes, a result of the economic disparity created by a technologically growing society. Racial classes were divided and lynchings showcased this inequality. African Americans were scared for their lives, one wrong action or comment could lead to their death. This constant fear caused African Americans to partake in the great migration, migrating North in hopes to escape persecution, running for their lives. Lynching was a common occurrence and demonstrates the effect racial divisions had on Southern society. Lynching showcases the catastrophic affect division in racial group has, senseless violence and

  • 8. Personal Strengths And Weaknesses My second strength is to seek first to understand, then be understood. There was a time in my life that this section would have been a low scoring section for me. I was once a person that would never put myself into the position of another to fully establish a connection of understanding from the other persons point of view, I was too busy. Now I have individualized consideration and I think age and career choices are the reasons why. In an article by B. Wilson, (2003 2005), he writes that Stephen Covey, as others, believes that the only way to establish communication in some professional and personal situations is by becoming, in small part, the person you are listening to . I make every attempt to do that exact procedure when employees come to me with problems or concerns. I m no longer impatiently waiting on them to finish their story but now I put myself in their shoes. It s important for the staff to feel as though they can come to me with issues and this is where the idealized influence and individual consideration come into play. Listening to the staff and genuinely caring about them makes for a more pleasant work environment, happier employees, and appreciative people. My third strength is Synergy. This actually caught me by surprise, a little. Synergy is achieved my maximizing the driving forces, minimizing the restraining forces, and combining strengths of people through positive teamwork, so as to achieve goals that no one else could have done alone,

  • 12. I Hate Reading I hate reading. This mantra ran through my head with the bitter intensity of a six year old s anger. I could be watching the crackling fireplace with imagined fairies that darted through the flame and lived in houses made of burning wood. I could be climbing the trees with branches that stretched twig fingers toward the endless sky. I could normally be doing a myriad of different possibilities, but not today. My mother claimed I needed to learn to read before second grade began, and trapped me in is a single activity. Instead of doing my favored activities I compliantly allowed the rough carpet to press indentations into my skin as I began to read. The book s smooth cover clung to my fingertips as I looked for meaning in the indecipherable syllables. I sat with water threatening to spill from my eyes, lost in a sea of letters with waves of words battering me from all sides. However, I blinked and tentatively pressed my lips into the hum of a m . I searched the depths of my mind for the meaning of the next letter, letting the hum trail into eternity. Once again, I identified the letter with time and opened my mouth to the sound of an a . • 13. Subjection of Women by John Stuart Mill At the very beginning of this work of his, The subjection of Women , Mill sets forth the objective of the essay. He explains in clear terms that the legal subordination of one sex to the other is wrong in itself. This principle which regulates the existing social relations between the two sexes ought to be replaced by a principle of perfect equality. This principle should admit no power or privileges on the one side or disabilities on the other. Mill rejects society s claim that the subordination of women is natural . Infact they do not want them to be slaves but to be their favourites. That is the very reason why they have made the best efforts to enslave their minds. He elaborates his argument saying that men wanted simple obedience from women and hence the educated them on such lines so as to make them submissive and yielding. They were brought up with the belief that they were not supposed to govern or rule over men. Inspite of the handicaps which a women bears, he strongly defends the cause of women saying that these fragments of the past are discordant with the future and must necessarily disappear. The essay is basically concerned about the admissibility of women to all functions and occupations, which has been retained as the monopoly of the stronger sex and is in the quest for the equality of women. It has been wrongly believed that women are incapable of certain employments which are open to even the basest of males and the society s very thinking that they, women, depart from the real path of success and happiness when they aspire to it. Such specialties include politic, science and philosophy. On the contrary, many women have proved themselves capable of everything, perhaps without a single exception, which is done by men. The unfitness of women for these occupations is sometimes based on what has come to be known as the nature of women according to which the mental constitution of women differs from that of men.

According to the Brennan Center for Justice at the New York University School of Law, as many as 25 percent of African Americans may not have government issued photo IDs. • 16. Examples Of Delusion In Don Quixote Miguel Cervantes Don Quixote is a masterpiece in many senses of the word: at the time of its conception, it was hailed as a revolutionary work of literature that defined a genre, in later centuries regarded as an acerbic social commentary, a slightly misshapen romantic tragedy, and even as a synthesis of existentialist and post modernist features. At the centre of this Spanish satirical chronicle is the perplexing character Don Quixote. Don Quixote s personality and perspective is rapidly established fromsince the beginning of the novel, revealing unabashedly to readers that he is mad. The source of his madness lies in the extent to which Don Quixote acts on his delusions and projections unto reality as he saunters through Cervantes Andalusia. Don Quixote s delusions have two primary functions in the novel: demonstrating the reality and tragedy of Cervantes manifestation of idyllic themes of love and chivalry, and revealing certain characteristics about narration. A role of Don Quixote s delusions is to provide a glimpse into a situation where the chivalric code is implemented. Don Quixote is mad at first glance:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 18. Transmitting Data Within Locations With Sporadic... Transmitting data in locations with sporadic connectivity is a huge challenge. The Select Bipartisan Committee that investigated the Hurricane Katrina concluded that communication provides a critical path for relief in emergency and disaster situations. It was observed that the rescue efforts as well as the command and control awareness, was greatly affected by severe network failures and interoperability issues. This paper aims at analysing the requirements of such a network and suggests a completely wireless communication solution that can be deployed reliably. In the event of a catastrophic disaster, whether natural or man made, the efficiency of rescue teams and disaster response operations is very critical to life saving. Unfortunately, communication systems, including cellular networks, may be partially or completely comprised which render the emergency districts disconnected to the outside world. Thus, the increase in the survival rate requires breaking of the communication bottleneck. It is imperative that the communication network employed in a disaster affected area is highly resilient and robust to further damages. The network will be primarily used to communicate to the control rooms to provide and receive regular updates and additional requirements for personnel or machinery and warnings of any imminent dangers. The network would also serve to send warning messages to the people in the affected area. Emergency telecommunication systems need to deploy specialized
  • 19. The Failure of Integration Essay The Failure of Integration After four decades of school integration America has given up, and the question is: quot; Why? quot;. I believe the answer is because absolutely nothing worked! Bussing was a hassle, most magnet schools were set up for false reasons, and everything was very costly. With everything they tried there were still no significant changes in the test scores of the minority students. So now here we are in the late 21st century and it can all be summed up with what Chris Hansen of the American Civil Liberties Union in New York City believes the courts are saying, quot;We still agree with the goal of school desegregation, but it s too hard, and we re tired of it, and we give up. quot; ... Peter Schmidt opinion is that quot;after seeing some districts labyrinthine busing maps, that mandating the integration of classrooms has cost a good number of students any chance of a fair and quality education. quot; Another reason why plans for integration stopped was that many believed they were morally wrong. Mr. Symington, a Republican, said, quot; The education of Arizona s children should not be held prisoner by a racial quota system. quot; While Edward Newsome feels it s just patronizing to blacks, quot;that the courts are so willing to assume that anything that is predominately black must be inferior. quot; There were also problems with magnet school programs. Most were designed to attract white students to predominately black schools and vice versa. The communities were using magnet schools to lure whites away from private schools. Along with being unjust the magnet school plan also did not work. In 1985 one district was 73.6% minority, 11 years later the district is now 75.9% minority. Missouri v. Jenkins stopped the unjustness of Judge
  • 20. The Use Of Lichen And Its Effect On The Environment Lichens are widely distributed in many different areas and can be found inhabited within harsh habitats such as dry arid hot deserts and freezing mountain tops. Environmental factors such as temperature, sun exposure levels, and the pH levels of soil influence the growth of Lichens. Their natural structure and symbiotic relationship with fungus and a photosynthetic partner has given these organisms the ability to survive such harsh and exposed environments. Their ability to absorb substances and minerals dissolved in rain and dew has also enabled Lichento live and survive in such extreme areas, but this ability has had the effect of making them very sensitive to pollutants in the air; and therefore cannot survive in polluted areas such as the city because of automobile traffic such as cars, and industrial activity. Lichen can be found growing within soil, on the surface layer of rocks, and most commonly, they are found growing on the bark of trees (Raven et al. 2010, p. 626 627). The graph above shows that the south aspect of most of the trees in Campbelltown Campus had the greatest surface area of lichen coverage on the tree trunk, compared to the other aspects (east, north and west). The east aspect had the second highest average cell count of lichen coverage. The north and west aspects had a similar cell count which varied by a small amount, with the north aspect having the lowest amount of lichen coverage, and the west being the second lowest. There are huge numbers of people out there looking for exactly the same thing. When the right job pops up, you have to be aware that you re not going to be the only person clamouring after it. That s not a good look right off the bat, and many employers out there will just throw your CV in the bin without purusing it further. Sure, you got noticed, but it was for the wrong reasons and got you the wrong result. Many job seekers think the best way to stand out is to make their CV fun . Images, colours, jokes, puns and funny fonts are all popular choices, and all of them are bad ideas. Just don t do it please! We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty (Brainy Quote, 1997). In the past homelessness was known as a result of any war. Nowadays, the percentage of homeless people is around 60% worldwide. Also, the concept of homelessnessis an expression that covers a huge number of countries which means it shifts from nation to nation. Individuals who are needy are regularly unfit to earn and keep up a standard, protected secure and sufficient stay. Being caused mainly by the individual s conditions, homelessness can affect people s health and personal life. To begin with, individual conditions are major causes of homelessness, and they are quite numerous. For instance, the past of the individuals could be packed with shocking events. Some people have really hard time getting over them, and they always cause them many psychological or physical problems that may hinder their development in life. Shocking events may include loss of job or money. Research (as cited in Gowan, 2010) shows that 22.61% of homeless people are not working seriously to earn enough money. In addition, personal crises, whether social or economic have a huge impact on the individual s present situation. If someone faces bankruptcy they have a higher chance of facing homelessness in the future. Also, mental illness
  • 25. Reaction Of The Maillard Reaction Introduction The non enzymatic reaction of reducing sugars with amino groups of amino acids, peptides and proteins is called as non enzymatic glycosylation or simply glycation. This non enzymatic reaction ultimately results in the formation of complex brown pigments and protein protein crosslinks that were first studied under defined conditions by Maillard in the early 1900s (Maillard and Gautier, 1912) and the reaction came to known as the Maillard reaction. There is a condensation reaction between reducing sugar and free amino acids at the amino terminus or susceptible Оµ amino group of lysine residues of proteins producing labile N substituted glycosylamine (Schiff base) that may undergo two sequential rearrangements, forming a stable Amadori product (Fayle Gerrard, 2002). The reducing sugars namely, glucose, fructose, galactose, mannose, ribose and certain carbohydrate relatives are inherently reactive toward nucleophilic groups. Glucose is the least reactive among common sugars because it exists in least concentration in the open chain form (Paulsen and Pflughaupt, 1980). Amadori rearrangement was a key early step in the Maillard reaction (Hodge, 1955). Early glycation directs the formation of Schiff s bases and Amadori products that further oxidized to advanced glycated end products (AGEs) (Chetyrkin et al., 2008). Studies have shown that the glycation process (in the early stage where the interaction of sugars, such as glucose, with free amino groups of lysine and

The sample used for the experiment was sample 4, created on 2/22/2017. The concentration was calculated by titrating the vinegar with NaOH. Unfortunately, NaOH does not form a pure solution so its concentration also had to be calculated. This was done by using it to titrate a solution of KHP, which does form a pure solution. Once the concentration of NaOH was known, it could be used to calculate the mols of acetic acidin a known volume of vinegar, giving us the concentration. This will result in the calculated mass of acetic acid to be higher. This is because it appears that additional NaOH was required to titrate the solution, and the mols ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was done by titrating the vinegar with a base that had a calculated concentration. The final average concentration after three trials was 0.5285% by mass. All of the measurements used were taken to four significant figures. One potential source of error is the use of an indicator and titration. In order to induce a change in the color of the solution, it must become slightly basic, this means that more NaOH was added than was actually required to neutralize the acetic acid. This error would indicate that the concentration of acetic acid was slightly higher than it really is; unfortunately, it is unavoidable with the current experiment setup. Another problem with the titration process is that the base can only be added in drops, limiting the precision even more. Aside from these limitations it appears that the process yielded fairly accurate results, with only a 5.706% error when compared to the industry
  • 32. Essay on Glass Ceiling The Concept of the Glass Ceiling Women from birth are looked at as inferior to men. As a society we label babies by the color of their blanket when they are born. Boys are given blue as girls are given pink blankets. This from the start separates the two genders. As boys grow they are given action figures and are taught to play rough games, and girls are given dolls and taught to play nice. These differences continue to cause a gap between the two genders. As the American society has progressed, there are aspects that have failed to revolutionize. Americans have been unsuccessful in recognizing the equality of women in general. The intelligence of a woman has always been looked down upon by the male gender. Johanne Toussaint,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They have determined that the glass ceiling can appear in many forms. The first form is the lack of management commitment to establish systems, policies, and practices for achieving workplace diversity and upward mobility. This form means that women are unable to move up in the business due to a lack of upward mobility. Women are able to be promoted past a certain position. Not only is the business form of workplace affected by this barrier, but there also exist the barrier in the government department. Only 5.4 percent of all federal judges were women at the time of Sandra Day O Connor s appointment. • 34. Why Is Hamlet Truly Mad Is Hamlet Truly Mad? One of the largest debates in the literary world is whether Hamlet was actually mad, or if he feigned it to disconcert Claudius and others close to him. The question of whether or not is similar to that of whether or not Gertrude was aware that the cup was poisoned. Personally, I believe that Hamletwas not mad, but rather delusional; making himself mad to fit his own goals, rather than simply being such. He had many soliloquys debating whether or not to appear mad to others, but also showed pieces of madness through his obsession with murder. As a result, Hamlet was not mad, but he was not of sound mind, either. Not soon after beingdiagnosed with melancholy, or depression, after his father s death, he tells his friends that he will pretend to act mad. HAMLET:How strange or odd some er I bear myself (As I perchance hereafter shall think meet To put an antic disposition on) (Act I, Scene 5) However, even before he first met his father s ghost he was already melancholy, and depression can often lead to irrational decisions. Sure, he was not fully mad , and still had some sanity, but his sane self purposefully tried to throw conscience out of the window in order to achieve his goal to kill Claudius. In addition, most sane people would not actually kill a person, much less plot about it as thoroughly as he had. In the third act, even Claudius doubts that Hamlet is truly mad. Many of his guardsmen do believe it, but Claudius is unconvinced of how

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The notion of our concept is to change the ways in which prices are perceived by customers while maintaining the same quality products. The goal here is to offer products that are a bit more expensive but within the dollar range from our competitors. More specifically, for a same sized item sold at the dollar store, Reed will be charging a higher price for our product, but within a one dollar range. For the same product in a smaller size than the dollar store item, Reed will be charging the same price. To illustrate this point, take for instance, a 300 mL ketchup bottle sold at the dollar store for $1. That same product will be sold at Reed for $1.30 or alternatively, $1.00 for a 200 mL bottle. Another adjustment Reed can adopt is to price products in a way that the tens decimal place is moved down. So instead of charging the regular $2.25, we can charge $2.19 before taxes. The figures vary slightly and are fairly hard to detect. As a result, the price differences become negligible and easy to for customers to disregard. A third strategy is the increase in product varieties and introduction of new items with different features. Also recommended is the use of reference pricing, or the fair price consumers expect to pay. If ketchup prices are generally deemed to hover around $2.00 for a 300 mL bottle, the

The neoliberal era refers to a period during which these believes were widely upheld and respective reforms were introduced. In the developed countries it is most often Ronald Regan in the United States and Margaret Thatcher in the United Kingdom, who are presented as the main neoliberal agents. The international economic institutions (IMF, Worldbank and WTO), which conducted structural adjustment programmes are often seen as those that imposed these reforms on the developing world. The neoliberal set of policies is often connected to increasing financialisation of the world economy (Fine, 2009). Finance did not only become a greater part of GDP but above all it became more strategically important for economic development. Stock of global financial assets in years 1980 2007 has increased tenfold and constituted almost 4.5 times the multiple of world GDP (Palma, 2009). It has been suggested that while the activities of a financial system in the neoliberal era consume more of national income, they become detrimental to the real economy (Dymski, 2011). This is due to the transformation of the relationship created between the lender and the borrower in a neoliberal era, which will be explored in greater detail further. The term financial fragility refers to a situation where the economy is vulnerable to financial crisis. It suggests

The show is about child beauty pageants and all the work children have to do, and also all the money parents put into it. It portrays how crazy some moms could be, and how spoiled some children are. Beauty pageants can boost confidence and self esteem, but it is degrading to women all over the world. Only one part deals with intelligence, but that doesn t prove anything. Some pageant parents don t adequately prepare their kids for pageants, so the girls don t really know what to expect. If they don t win, they might take it personally and get hurt feelings. Children might end up feeling unattractive or inadequate in some other way. Child pageants are also time consuming. To be competitive in the larger pageants, contestants have to spend hours practicing their smile, their walk, and their turns. The day of the

Evaluating A Blue Ocean Strategy A Buyer Utility Map According to Kim and Mauborgne (2005), when formulating a blue ocean strategy a buyer utility map can help managers obtain the proper perspective of their product or service s utility to its buyers (p. 121). The utility map can help managers at ExxonMobil understand the value of their product throughout the buyer experience cycle. The utility levers reflect the many ways that motor oilcan have a negative or positive impact. In addition, understanding how to increase motor oil s value can help the company identify the biggest blocks to buyer utility. The greatest blocks to customer utility often represent the best opportunities to create exceptional value (Kim Mauborgne, 2005, p. 122). For example, if ExxonMobil can formulate a better, more environmentally safe blend of motor oil, it will create an exceptional value for the customer (figure 1.3 below). Currently, there are very few motor oil manufacturers that create environmentally safe versions. Though the company is one of the world s largest publically traded oil and gas company, creating such a value will keep them ahead of the competition as well as creating a larger market share ( 2014 Summary , 2014). Customers expect quality products and services, competitive pricing and certain level of control over their transactions and their provider to engage with them.
