Durkheim for further study on social science and philosophy in Germany. With his German studies he

University of Bordeaux in 1887. Equally important, was the fact that Durkheim was able to reform the

old, his father was killed by members of a white supremacist group called the Black Legion, mainly
because of him involvement with UNIA and his commitment to pan africanism and the advancement

mother was admitted into a mental health facility after suffering a nervous breakdown. Consequently,
Malcolm and his 10 siblings were separated and sent to various foster homes. In 1943, Malcolm

Attending A Traditional Classroom Setting
I have been fortunate enough to attend college in a traditional classroom setting as well as an online
setting; I can say for my academic journey the online setting better suited my learning type. When I
graduated high school I went to a traditional university, I did not do well and ended withdrawing and
failing classes. I attended an online university a few years later and found that it was a lot more
conducive to my learning style. The traditional college setting may be better suited for students that
may need more structure for learning. Sitting in a classroom with a professor telling you exactly what
assignments are, and when they are due is needed for some students. In a traditional college setting the
professor will stand in front of the class and give a lecture, at times this lecture will be far from what
is needed and filled with those professors personal opinions. Then at a time where you will be given
an exam, the material was given is nothing of what the professor lectured on. So in essence, the
student will have to sit and listen to a professor lecture and then do their own reading and research.
When attending an online program, the student is responsible for making the time to read, study, and

Yesterday was my first ever Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson! I can tell it s going to be my

People love Pluto, whether they are young or old it does not seem to matter. The planet (and Walt
Disney s beloved character) holds a special place in a lot of people s hearts. Yet, this only became
clear to me after reading The Pluto Files by Neil deGrasse Tyson. I remember when Pluto s
classification changed from being a planet to a dwarf planet however, I was never aware of how big of
a controversy it caused. The fact that there was a conference deciding whether or not we should keep
Pluto as our ninth planet was not something I was aware of previously to this book. Tyson does a
wonderful job explaining the story of Pluto and not only the how the planet was reclassified but also
