2. Essay about The Term “Marriage” Should Have No
Boundaries
The topic of gay marriage is an issue that our nation is undecided upon. While
several states including the state of Vermont have passed laws allowing
homosexual couples to marry, most of the U.S. is against these rights and consider
them immoral. Many believe that gay and lesbians deserve no rights at all and
should never be allowed to marry. On the other hand, others believe that these
individuals deserve all rights just as everyone else and should have the same
privileges as heterosexual couples do. This essay will attempt to discuss the laws
surrounding gay marriage, the religious views, and the debate concerning children in
homosexual homes. This report will attempt to explain how a classical theory would
resolve the issues... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Currently the states of Delaware, Hawaii, and Illinois also allow civil unions. It
was not until 2004 that a state passed laws allowing an actual same sex marriage
and that state was Massachusetts. Other states that have agreed to perform same
sex marriages are Connecticut, Vermont, Iowa, New Hampshire, New York, New
Jersey, New Mexico, Rhode Island and the District of Columbia (NCSL, 2011).The
Defense of Marriage Act While many believe they are receptive to new ideas, the
idea of marriage between homosexuals is an unwelcome thought to most. Most
believe that marriage is purely a heterosexual right and that this right cannot be
afforded to those with immoral thoughts or behaviors. While the state of New
York allows gay marriages, it cannot afford the rights of heterosexual couples to the
gay couples. This in part is due to the 1996 federal law entitled The Defense of
Marriage Act (Strasser, 1999, pg. 187). While employers in New York can offer
health care benefits to the partner of gay employees, the employee must claim this
expense as taxable earnings unlike heterosexual people (Zremski, 2011).
Furthermore, if a gay person s chosen partner is considered an immigrant, it is no
guarantee that the partner will be able to remain in the U.S. lawfully. Additionally, if
the partner of a gay married couple dies, the remaining partner has no entitlement to
Social Security survivor benefits and will more than likely be expected to pay a large
estate tax

Lance Armstrong is one of the best cyclist there is. He was in many races over the
world. He has won many awards in many races. He also had many companies
sponsoring him. But all that was taken away and his reputation was ruined when he
was caught doping.
One of his first awards was the La FlГЁche Wallonne in 1996. Another one of his
great accomplishments was the sports illustrated sports person of the year which he
won on 2002. He has also won the best comeback athlete espy award. And another
award was when for the united states national road race championships. He has won
many more awards for other things but all that was taken away for cheating by
doping. He lost all of his awards and his wins were given to the person in second

4. Why Is William Mckinley Unjust
One of the greatest American presidents of all time, William McKinley, began his
career in politics as a senator. He served here for 14 years, up until he was elected
governor of Ohio (Rubel 4). After his time as governor McKinley was elected
president of the United States. In Buffalo, New York, an attempt was made on his
life by anarchist named Leon Czolgosz (San Francisco Call 2). He died eight days
later on September 14, 1901 from gangrene infections in his wounds. His
assassination completely and utterly unjust. He was an exquisite, bright, and ethical
American President. While he was in office, he led the United Statesto victory in the
100 Day War, and protected U.S. industry by raising tariffs. While some people
might say he overused his power as president, this is simply not true whatsoever.
First of all, William McKinley ended and won the 100 Day War. He crushed the
Spanish navy outside of Santiago Bay, Cuba (White House 4). After his victory in
Cuba, McKinley ordered the U.S. navy to move towards the Philippines. There, the
navy was able to seize Manilla, and establish U.S. control of the islands. This ended
the war, and allowed the U.S. to annex Puerto Rico. This is one reason that his
assassination was unjust. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning of his term, the depression of 1893 was coming to an end. The
price of U.S. goods had risen to their highest point in years (White House 6). This
was putting the American economy in Danger because foreign goods were more
cost effective, and were now being mass produced. McKinley recognized this danger,
and called congress into session. He had congress raise tariffs to their highest point,
which made U.S. goods much cheaper than their foreign counterparts (Rubel 6). This
helped to protect U.S. industry which made his killing more
5. Using The Policy Of Containment In The Cold War
The Cold War Presidents All of the cold war presidents have different but similar
policies and deal with the aid of many less fortunate countries. Truman and
Eisenhower focused on the policy of containment, which is the strategy to prevent the
spread of communism(Ayers 818). Kennedy focused on flexible response, which is
strengthening the U.S. forces so the U.S. would have other options for
weapons(Ayers 886). All the presidents were worried about the idea of domino theory.
Domino theory is theory that if one country would fall to communismthe others
around it would too (Ayers 950). Harry S. Truman was the first cold warpresident.
Truman focused on using the policy of Containment. This policy was a response to a
series of moves by the
6. The Bible and How Satan Came to Be
Introduction: I have heard that Satan has come from heaven but was never really
sure. So for my research paper I asked where Satan came from and how he was
created. Answers for this question are found in many places in the Bible. Satan was
one of the highest angels until was overcome with pride. He was thrown out, and
hell was created. Hell was first for Satanbut was then opened for everyone when
Adam and Evesinned.
Bible section: There are many verses in the Bible that show how how Satan came
to be. Some of them are not straight ford but some give a good description. Most of
the verses that describe where Satan comes from are in the book of Revelation. In
(Revelation 12:3) Satan appeared as a 7 headed dragon that had a crown on every
head. He became so jealous and full of pride that he threw a rebellion against God.
Isaiah 14 says I will raise my throne above the stars of God. (Isaiah 14 12 15 NIV).
A war broke out in Heaven, Michael and his angles fought Satan (Revelation 12:7).
This next verse proves that Satan is truly evil, It says Its tail swept a third of the
stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the
woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment
he was born. (Revelation 12:4 NIV) That clearly shows that he wants nothing good
for us and wants to destroy us. Hell was originally for Satan only, but in Genesis
God gave us the choice to live in eternally in heaven or go to hell. The

Basketball tryouts were 2 weeks away, and I knew I wouldn t be able to tryout. I tried
healing my ankle the fastest way possible, but the process was still too slow. I put ice

too badly, but I still couldn t play basketball. I was really disappointed, but I knew
not to give up. I set a positive mindset for myself and hoped to be healthy for
tryouts next year. Once my ankle healed, I went back to my routine, and played

8. Summary Of The Banking Concept Of Education
Paulo Freire s essay The Banking Concept of Education is a critique on our tradition
education system. Freire believed that the banking concept of education is that of a
relationship of an oppressor and the oppressed, stating banking dehumanizes students
and serves the interest of those who oppress them (Freire 62). He also refers to the
banking concept as an educationwhich holds emphasizes with memorization, facts,
formula, and disciple on the students part, while the teacher s narration, that is
detached from reality, becomes hollow, alienated, and alienating verbosity for the
students (Freire 63). As well, the banking concept, as Freire explains, is like an act
of depositing, where the students are the depositories and the teachers are the
depositor (Freire 63).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Freire proposes a method that rids the banking concept from our education system by
having education become a conversation amongst equals in which both the teachers
and students learn from one another (Freire 62). Thus creating an environment where
the teacher student relationship is more than depositories and depositors, and not as
Freire says, [i]n which the scope of action allowed to the students extends only as far
as receiving, filing, and storing the deposits (Freire
9. Diana George Changing The Face Of Poverty Analysis
Words provoke preconceived ideas and images in the mind, when it comes to a
situation like poverty these preconceived notions can have undesirable and
unintended consequences. In her article titled Changing the Face of Poverty;
Nonprofits and the Problem of Representation Diana George addresses the semantics
and imagery of the word poverty, while also identifying an issue of the perception of
what someone in poverty truly looks like.(676) Prof. George is arguing that
organizations like Habitat for Humanity, which are created to help people in poverty

But it is also a challenge for the people actually in need to understand they are
living in poverty and need help.(682) When it comes to poverty people tend to have
imagery in their mind that comes from all around the world of different people
living in deplorable conditions.(683) The problem is poverty like many things is
relative. To compare someone in need in the United States on a guideline or scale
based on people in need from impoverished countries around the world is not
exactly fair.(681) The fact that the United States is one of the wealthiest countries
in the world also means it s one of the most expensive places to live. Taking this
into consideration it is unreasonable to compare the poor and needy in the United
States to the poor and needy in countries where their economic systems are much
farther behind than that of the United States.(681) The issue is that just because
you re not in tattered close or homeless does not mean that you are not living in
poverty in the United States.(683) What stereotyping like this does is gives a very
restricted view of what an individual in poverty looks like, while also causing the
help that might be provided to individuals in need to be

How the Mp3 Murdered the Music Industry It is easily rational to assume that music
is something every human experiences in some way everyday, and is it reasonable to
assume that the majority of people in global north countries possess at least 1 mp3
file. It may be, however, inaccurate to assume one purchased that mp3 file. Since it
s invention, the mp3 has opened new markets of digital music play, overshadowing
the past markets of physical record sale. New copyright laws were developed to
evade the ease and massive scale of common, everyday piracy that grew out of the
wide range use of mp3. Meanwhile, full markets grew out of this concept of free

Unlike piracy, streaming is a highly profitable market that strives to deter piracy.
Spotify states on its site that it recognized the mass consumption of pirated music,
and the small or nonexistent income it provides for artists, stating its mission to
provide a legal and paid service to provide music and produce the revenue the
artists deserve ( Spotify Explained ). Apple Music hosts similar business strategy,
however focuses more on the mission of providing over 30 million songs on a 24/7
radio station in its mission statement ( Apple Music ). Therefore, it is absolutely true
that piracy has but a small, mostly harmless effect on the music industry, as with
streaming, which actually is a highly profitable market in the music industry. The
birth of the mp3 began with the research of Eberhard Zwicker in psychoacoustics. In
researching items like sound pressure and integrity, he turned the concepts into
mathematical logarithms like L=20Log(p/pв‚Ђ)dB (Zwicker). Over this time,
Zwicker found that the human ear was an adaptive organ which, by natural selection,
served two purposes: to hear and interpret language and provide an early warning
system against enormous carnivorous cats, and it was no better than it had to be to
serve those two purposes (Witt). Around the same time as this research, the compact

11. Shiloh, By Bobbie Ann Mason
Shiloh , by Bobbie Ann Mason, explores an interesting theme, the distinct parallel
between the surface level of what the events of the story are, and the meaning
underneath. This parallel is seen throughout the story, from the start when Leroy
Moffitt is building craft kits for at first just to pass time, while Norma Jean is
lifting weights and working at a Rexall drugstore for the same reason; To later on
when Norma says she doesn t know what she s talking about and Leroy thinks that
the way to saving his marriage is to come up with a last minute idea. The story
engages the theme of the parallellevels through the unstable marriage of Leroy and
Norma Jean. The theme of this parallel is shown overtly through the images,
descriptions, and characterizations of the log cabins in the story, and of Shiloh.
Interestingly, the characters and the world they live in are stuck on the surface,
shown through how both Leroy and Norma Jean drift on subjects, and through the
names in the story.
Norma Jean and Leroy s marriage shows an insight on the theme in action because
of how their lack of understanding the inner workings of marriage, which causes
them to drift apart and eventually separate. One of the most important things in
marriage is the ability to communicate, but neither of them are able to do so on a
meaningful level. An example of this is when Norma Jean starts to explain why she
wants to leave him, then as she walks away she takes back what she said, adding No,

12. Interdependence Between Drama And Drama
On the other hand, dramatic speech cannot be regarded only as an extension of
everyday speech into drama. Indeed, there is interdependence between dramatic
speech and everyday speech, yet there is no identity and although there are many
common elements, there are also important differences. These differences can be seen
in the fact that drama, theatre and other performance genres like film, carnival,
ceremonial ritual are embedded in social culture but as part of what has been termed
expressive culture.
Drama has its own history and its own contemporary constraints for aesthetic,
experimental or social purposes. Dramatic performances are among those which have

Although there are plays which are mainly written for a reading audience,
dramatic texts are generally meant to be presented in front of an audience, in a
theatre. Therefore, dramatic texts are different by compared to poetic or narrative
texts. There is the primary text (the main body of the play spoken by the
characters), and secondary texts (all the texts accompanying the main text: title,
dramatis personae, scene descriptions, stage directions for acting and speaking).
Depending on whether one reads a play or watches it on stage, one has different
kinds of access to dramatic texts. The reader receives written information on what
the characters look like, how they act and react in certain situations, how they speak
or the setting of the background to a scene. However, another reader also has to
make an effort to imagine all these characteristics and interpret them for oneself. On
the other hand, stage performances reveal these details from a completely different
perspective. In other words: at the theatre the audience is presented with a version of
the play which has already been interpreted by the director, actors, costume designers,
make up artists and all the other members of theatre staff, who bring the play to life.
The difference, then, lies in different forms of perception. While the audience can

Egyptian civilization was undeniably one of the earliest, largest, most influential and
longest lasting civilizations in the history of mankind. Egyptian civilization is
renowned for its tremendous achievements in fields such as architecture,
administration, literature, medicine, engineering, and statecraft. Pyramids, the large
Sphinx, and the large temples are some of the most striking landmarks of ancient
Egyptian civilization. The most significant entity about the Egyptian civilization
was its geography. Just as life arose from the Nile waters, the Egyptian civilization
emanated along the banks of the same river. The Nile River was a magnet for life
since it attracted people, animals and plants to its banks thereby nourishing the
pharaonic kingdom. The Egyptian gods were also believed to sojourn along river
Nile. Most paramount about the Egyptian civilization is that during its development
an expansion around 3000 B.C. the Egyptian were the only literate people across the

14. `` Interpreter Of Maladies `` By Jumpha Lahiri
Change is complex. Change requires sacrifice in order to gain; things we are so
connected to have to be given up, but ultimately it is a choice to sacrifice those
things. Andy Law, a distinguished author, portrays this concept perfectly in his
book Creative Company. He states, Unless you are prepared to give up something
valuable you will never be able to truly change at all, because you ll be forever in
the control of things you can t give up. Human nature tends to lead people to hold on
to what they are familiar with things that help comfort them in unfamiliar
circumstances. When holding on to one s past so tightly, it is hard for them to move
forward. Jumpha Lahiri, author of Interpreter of Maladies, writes stories about people

an individual, like Mr. Pirzada, struggles to adapt to a different culture when he is so

the pocket watch:
When I saw it that night, as he wound it[the watch] and arranged it on the coffee

imagined Mr. Pirzada s daughters rising from sleep, tying ribbons in their hair,

Mr. Pirzada is resilient to move forward with something new, so he holds on to
something familiar time back home.
Furthermore when describing Boori Ma in A Real Durwan , Lahiri uses the

Bolsheviks Seizure of Power in 1917
There are many factors that help explain how and why the Bolsheviks managed to
seize power in 1917. It was a combination of long and short term causes that
together, created a revolution. The political system itself was long overdue for
reform, but with a weak Tsar, the economic and social conditions became worse and
worse. In 23 years, Nicholas II dropped from the glorious Little Father of Russia to
prisoners of his own country, hatred and despised by the majority, for the suffering
and unhappiness he had helped create.

Overcrowding, terrible food, disease and alcoholism were everyday happenings.
Peasants began to realise that working in the factories was no better than working on
the land.
As a result of this industrialisation, a new class of people called the Capitalists began
to emerge in Russia. These were the new middle class, which Russia had only seen as
shopkeepers and university lecturers, but landowners, bankers, industrialists and
businessmen flourished. The capitalist s main concern was the management of the
economy and controlling their workforce. The clashes between the workers and the
capitalists are another huge factor that lead up to the revolution in 1917.
Not everyone however was readily loyal to the Tsar as explained earlier. Many middle
class people wanted greater democracy in Russia and wanted, like Britain, a
monarch but also a powerful parliament. These were called liberals or Cadets.
The two other groups were more passionately opposed to the Tsar and believed
revolution was the key to Russia s problems. The Socialist Revolutionaries were a
radical movement that believed violence was the only way to revolution, and support
for them was wide spread. Their aims were to divide the huge estates from the
nobility and hand them over to the peasants. The socialist democratic party

Russian Working Conditions in the 19th Century
Karl Marx drafted The Communist Manifesto with Friedrich Engels in the mid 19th
century after living in Moscow and seeing the strife of laborers there. The document
was a reflection on the two men s belief that the wealthier members of society were
exploiting the working class. From his experience in Russian society, Marx became
concerned with the way that the majority of the proletariat class was living. The
filthy and inhumane working conditions, the negligible wages, and the way that the
employers disrespected their employees, all led to Marx penning The Communist
Manifesto. The theme of humans and nature is shown by the ideas that Marx and

As Paul Brians states,
The old feudal restrictions which had fixed peasants in place on the land and limited
their income had also guaranteed them a place in the world. They may not have
prospered, but they were often able to fend off starvation and homelessness simply
because they had been born onto estates from which they could not be removed
against their wills. [i]
After the feudal system was destroyed, workers moved to the cities and began to
participate in what would later be referred to as, The Industrial Revolution.
As technology increased and the demand for manufactured goods grew, more and
more Russian peasants migrated to the cities. Soon the big metropolises such as St.
Petersburg and Moscow became hubs for the demands of the industrial world. As the
number of factories expanded, so did the number of laborers, and in turn, the
conditions in these workplaces worsened. As Bonnell writes,
In the second half of the nineteenth century the face of traditional Russian society
began to change. Many villages and towns became transformed into factory centers,
and mills started to appear where once there had been only peasant huts. In the

its predecessor, Moscow the pace of industrialization was rapid and intense. Factories
and shops were springing up as never before, spilling over into the outskirts of each

21. The Roles Of Characters In The Movie Gulliver s Travels
The movie Gulliver s Travels has a wide array of characters. These characters are
played by very professional and talented actors. Some of these include, Jack Black
as Gulliver, Jason Segel as Horatio, Emily Blunt as Princess Mary, Amanda Peet as
Darcy Silverman, Billy Connolly as King Theodore and finally, Chris O Dowd as
General Edward, the antagonist. All of these characters play a central role in the
film, whether they are the antagonist, the hero or the Princess. All the roles are
important and were exceptionally done. The film is about a man named Lemuel
Gulliver, who works in the mailroom at an office. He develops a crush for Darcy
Silverman, who works in the office. Gulliver decides to plagiarize an article from a
travel blog in order to impress her and it does. Darcy sends Gulliver out to the
Bermuda Triangle for a story, however his ship gets caught in a storm and is blown
off course. Eventually landing him in Lilliput. The land of the little people. At first,
the residents of Lilliput believe Gulliver to be a beast and they imprison him.
However, after a while Gulliver starts making stories, stating that he is the president
of the land he comes from, which of course is false. The Lilliputians believe him and
eventually grow to have more respect for him, and even start treating him like a king.
Eventually, the truth is found out and it s hard for them to trust Gulliver again until
the very end. One of the central things this movie is about, is judging someone

24. Queen Elizabeth I As Unworthy Of The Throne
Queen Elizabeth I was underestimated by many and was seen as unworthy of the
throne. Queen Elizabeth I had a successful reign full of victories and power and
was able to make sixteenth century England a thriving nation. The middle and
upper class were living comfortably and England s tin, coal, and led industries were
taking off (Lambert, par. 1). The reign of Queen Elizabeth I was strong and
powerful (Boatner, par. 7). She not only kept the nation strong but united as one. As
triumphant as her life may seem, she did deal with a difficult childhood and an
almost inexistent love life. Her lack of romantic relationships is why she is now
known as England s virgin queen, she died having never gotten married and without
any children (Brimacombe 28). Queen Elizabeth I had a huge ascendency on the
prosperity of England throughout her whole life: her childhood, adulthood and her
golden years. This essay will discuss the hardships, triumphs and the influence that
Queen Elizabeth I had during her time on the throne within the different stages of her
life: her childhood, adulthood and her golden years. The Renaissance, as defined by
the Encyclopedia Britannica, literally means the rebirth of European civilization

25. The Pros And Cons Of The Treaty Of Sussex
The Treaty of Sussex includes points which support colonialism and states that the
German colonies in Southeast Asia go to Japan and the remaining German colonies
are spread between France and Great Britain. The treaty should be encouraging
decolonization movements instead of colonialism, even if this demands France and
Great Britain to give up on their own colonies. In 1914, the whole Africa except
Liberia and Ethiopia, was ruled by Europeans. Great Britain and France were in
charge of the two biggest colonial empires. During the war, they utilized their
colonies for both human and material resources. From Britain s colonies, India
contributed the biggest number of soldiers with nearly 1.5 million gathered from the
beginning of the war until December 1919. The dominions Canada, New Zealand,
Australia, South Africa and Newfoundland contributed with an additional 1.3 million
men to the British army. Initially, France had 90,000 troops (troupes indigГЁnes)
under their control for the war. Then, between 1914 and 1918, France assembled
approximately 500,000 colonial troops in total: 166,000 West Africans, 46,000

27. Functionalist View On Prostitution
To begin, I believe that society defines when lifestyle choices become social
problems. Society can be defined as an organized group of people that are
associated together for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political,
patriotic, or other purposes (Dictionary Reference. 2015). Individuals develop their
own opinions about certain social problems. This results in people forming groups
based on their opinions and these groups are known as society. An example of
society determining what a social problem is would be prostitution. Prostitution
can be considered a social problem because society has such a diverse view on it.
Functionalists believe that the existence of such deviance is needed in order to
produce stability in society (Kendall, D. 2012). Functionalists believe that
prostitution allows people to engage in sexual practices and benefits the economy
by creating jobs for people with limited education and job skills (Kendall, D. 2012).
The symbolic interactionist believes that prostitution is a business deal that provides
women with a way to earn money while satisfying other people s needs. The conflict
perspective believes that prostitution should be decriminalized because individuals
are participating in this act by free will (Kendall, D. 2012). Others may believe that
prostitution is immoral and should be... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, people who abuse drugs put others at risk whenever they decide to
operate automobiles. Not only is this action illegal, but it is potentially harmful
because drugs reduce clarity and reduce an individual s motor skills, which could
result in a harmful or fatal accident (Kendall, D. 2012). Also, sex trafficking crosses
the line and creates problems for individuals because individuals are being forced to
participate in sexual activities against their own free

Both groups cheat because the incentives are worth it; the profits outweighs the
consequences. Teachers help their students cheat because their scores reflect on the
teacher, and the better they do the more likely said teacher is to be promoted or

promoted, and even richer, (Levitt 23). Teachers are willing to change a couple
answers on their student s test in order to get that raise or promotion. However, for
the teachers, cheatingwas not worth it because the school was able to put together an
algorithm to determine whether or not the teachers cheated. Sumo wrestlers throw
matches in order to help their opponent stay up in the ranks. They do this because they
29. Similarities Between Heaven And Divine Right Of Kings
In the past, there were many believers and followers who have a faith in spirits or
spiritual energy. Up to the present time, there are two concepts occurring which
have both similarity and difference Mandate of Heaven and the Divine Right of
Kings. In addition, the first term was popular among East Asia, especially in
China, while the Divine Right of Kings gained popularity within Europe region. As
a result, the commonality can be defined from the originate power and the
differences can be discussed in term of kings conditioning to authorize. The
similarities lie on the way ones power acquire from the Heaven or the God. Pelerin

30. Poaching And Robin Hood
INTRODUCTION
We, the people of the world, do many things for the sake of our survival. Things
that we are very proud of and things that we are not. People have needs and they do
or invent things based off of their needs. How far they are willing to go is the
million dollar question. Poaching has been going on since the world began, but it
did not become a problem and become illegal until the Late Middle Ages. In the
times where the lower class were peasants and the upper class had control of pretty
much everything. Robin Hood was of the first well known poachers during this time
period. His reasoning, like the reasoning like many other that poach, Hood was in
desperate need of money and food for his family. With the help of his crew, Hood...

Although, in reality the number of people that actually know why poaching is done is
very low. Poaching, by definition, is the illegal act of killing, capturing, or
removing mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, insects, or plants from their natural
habitats. (Greene, 1994, p.11). Yes. poaching is illegal but there is a reason to why
people feel the need to do these types of things. One of the first reasons to why
started poaching in the beginning was the fear of starvation. This reasoning was
often said to cause the most motivation for people to poach. People in countries
where poaching is most common, like Zimbabwe and Kanye, the economy is not
doing well enough for people to have enough money to support their families. By
hunting for large game, poachers use the meat to feed their families and allow them
to keeping living. The desperation that people that poach must have to do this is
unimaginable, but just like the average person in any country they will do what they
have to to keep their family ahead.
Another reason why poachers do what they do is for the huge income that they
gain from it. Wanting to make a respectful income is not being greedy. Just like any
other job, poachers do what is necessary to make money. Poachers will sell parts of
animals or animals all together. Most poachers only receive 5 10% of the money that
they make selling the animal. Based off of the job that they do that is very little

Executive Summary
While the idea of charter schools has been apparent since the early 1990 s, many
states including Arizona are thriving on the establishment of alternate learning
opportunities for its pupils. When choosing a schooling environment appropriate for
your child it may serve as an aid to consider how Arizona has become the nation s
largest contributor to charter school options¬¬ and how their programs are
affecting student achievement compared to traditional district schooling.

34. Irish And World War I
Ireland has many famous pieces of poetry that reflect the rich history of the country.
Many of these classic poems were written during the period known as, The Troubles
and during the events leading up to this period. Most notably, the several failed
uprisings against the British and World War I. Irelandhas a history of being divided
about who should rule the country. The division can be divided into two groups, one
group being the Unionists and, the other being the Nationalists. These two groups are
extremely different in viewpoints regarding religion and most notably opposing
views on government issues. In fact, the two groups views on government issues is
what gives each group its name. The Unionists believe in having a union with Great
Britain while, the Nationalists believe in one united Ireland without British
interference. These two viewpoints have representation in classic Irish poetry as well
as the events which brought this division amongst the people. The opposing
viewpoints between the Irish peoplebefore The Troubles are expressed the best in the
poems, September 1913 by William Butler Yeats, and Ulster 1912 by Rudyard
Kipling. Yeats view can be compared to Nationalists who wanted independence from
Great Britain. He even went as far as to use his poem as a political statement to call
his fellow Irish peers into action. Romantic Ireland s dead and gone/It s with O Leary

Topic 1 According to the Nez Zealand government, a company will only be
considered as a company in New Zealand after it has been registered with the
company s office which administers the register of companies In New Zealand. In
New Zealand, a company must have at least one director who lives in New
Zealand or lives in Australia and is a director of an Australian company. The
directors are required to provide their date of birth, place of birth and sometimes
they need to provide the details of their ultimate holding company. Unlike sole
traders or partnerships, the company itself operates as a separate legal entity to its
shareholders. It owns its assets and liabilities whereas a sole trader is liable for all
the assets and liabilities directly. This feature of the companies is called limited
liability, this means that shareholders in the company can only be liable and can
only lose the value of their shares and not more than the value of their shares.
However on the other hand, directors are liable for the debts incurred by the
business if their conduct of the business is believed to be fraudulent, reckless and
not in the company s interest. Lastly companies are taxed at the company tax rate
which is 28% in New Zealand currently. The profits made by the company are taxed
to the individuals. Having a company has a lot of advantaged mainly having an
advantage accessing investments and also gaining more credibility and is more
secure than having a sole trading

Red Herring for the Win: Checkers Speech The underpinnings in Richard Nixon s
argument lack an appropriate logical foundation for defending his stance, as
throughout the speech he deviates the attention of the audience from the main idea
which was whether he did or did not appropriate himself from the funds intended
toward his political campaign for personal use. However, he manages to persuade the
audience through an unconventional approach to this rather common political tactic.
Indeed, his speech was effective to save his candidacy; the notion that Nixon was
giving full account of his arguably honest intentions by openly speaking about the
issue and providing evidence made it seem like he was confronting accusations, while

Moreover this, he deviates the public s attention with a convoluted wordplay in
order to blur the main issue by putting aside the legal aspects against him and
focusing on morale, which is more bendable and corruptible in comparison, because
unlike the law, morality can easily be reshaped to our convenience. Despite this,
Nixon s argument is fairly persuasive due to the contrasting nature of his rhetoric
with habitual instances where political figures would rather not mention, let alone
discuss their misdoing. Furthermore, the speech is very swaying of the audience s
opinion. As he first directly states that it was wrong to take the money, the audience
s willingness to listen increases because he seems to be having a moment of honesty
and humility. However, a couple lines through he quickly flips the audience s
perception of wrong to a conditioned morally wrong by expressing what he believes
would make his actions inherently wrong, including whether the money had been
intended toward his personal use. He then asserts that the money never went to [him]
for personal use now neglecting what he had acknowledged explicitly in the
beginning. It resulted to be convincing, as he had previously yielded an occasion of

the other leaders, LTC Kunk put out an order to surveillance and recon the enemy
forces that were suspected to be housing the 19 captured soldiers. This was one big
problem that I felt highlighted leadership failure from the LTC, as a leader you
would have to make a final decision on what has happened, but the first thing you
would do is consult your other leaders. Get their opinions on the matter, figure out
the best plan together, taking away their opinions would only make them go
against you in the end. As a leader you have to let the people under you make
decisions just as well as you, they have to learn from their mess ups the same way
you do. It is way better to get 19 people killed in training than in real life. The second
leadership failure that I caught was still in the training environment, the other
leadership under LTC Kunk, had realized the craziness of the plan that was thrown at

and observations were made to see if the unknown dissolves. The use of a ionic

The next test that was conducted in this lab was the Anion/Cation Test. Within the
Cation/Anion test the first experiment was done with the Ammonia Trial. Within this
trial,1ml of 6M NaOH was needed along with 0.03g of the unknown compound,
and 1ml of distilled H2O. The Ammonia Trial will have a chemical compound of
NH4(X) + NaOH = NH3 + Na(X) + H2O, where X is the unknown anion. The first
step of this trial was to mix the measured unknown with the H2O. Once the
compound has dissolved, add the NaOH to the solution. By wafting over the
solution determining if an ammonia smell is present, if so the unknown compound
will contain ammonium. The trial was repeated three times and observations were
recorded. The next Cation/Anion experiment that was conducted was the Halide

a solution with 1ml of distilled H2O. Then, 1ml of 6M HNO3, and 1ml of 0.1M
AgNO3 was added to the solution, and observations were made towards if a white

type of discussion that may be necessary with a theater group. Individuals respond
differently to how phrases are stated. Only through working with similar groups
does a negotiator learn how best to phrase their ideas to parties in any given
situation. Learning how to best reframe a harsh or inappropriate statement into the
truth of the statement is also a soft skill that is highly beneficial to negotiators. The
only way to learn how to accomplish this difficult skill is by practicing it. It takes
years of practicing and using this skill in negotiation processes to truly learn how to
effectively hone it.
Being able to determine the best possible solution to the problem for both parties
involved in a negotiation is also something that cannot be learned. Each negotiation is
going to be different and have different circumstances. Even after years of working
with groups in negotiation or mediation situations, it is still difficult to help both
sides create a mutually beneficial solution to their problem. This is something that
almost comes as a talent to negotiators. It takes a certain gift
43. Veronica Roth Identity
What is identity? Identity is like music, it s all entertainment but it s not all the same
kind of music, there all different from each other. You are not born with you identity
you have to make chooses, what you do in you life, how you act around other people.
I believe you make your identity after you are born. The novel Divergent by Veronica
Roth has many different themes and messages throughout it that the author is trying
to show the reader. One of the main themes in this novel that stood out to me was the
theme of identityand finding out who you really are. There are two characters that
stand out due to their traits and choices when confronted by a difficult situation.
These two characters are Tris and Tobias. They face their challenges head on and are
always thinking on how to get through a situation in the most efficient way.... Show

She approaches decisions with careful thought and precision and doesn t back
down. During the choosing ceremony, she carefully weighs her options and
chooses the best for her, even if it means leaving her family. In her initiation, she is
faced with many trying tasks, and she pushes though each one with determination.
I have to stay on my feet so he cant kick me in the head. That s the only thing I can
think about. (Roth 109). This quote is taken from when Tris was in one of her
initiation fights, up against one of the best fighters there, and she refused to go
down without a fight. She learns to control her fears when she needs to and helps
others face theirs. Tris also leads the remaining people to stop the simulation and
does so successfully. Even when Tris s life is threatened, she goes on. These
examples provide evidence that shows that Tris is a determined person who will do
anything she can for the good of

My personal favorite was the Phantom from Indore, and the outrageous 3 C
concept made by Javeen from Kerala that went on to win the Most Popular Custom
Design award, a well deserved feat indeed. Those who were not interested in taking
part in these competitions were also taken care of. There was a lounge area where
the motorcycling movies were being screened along with some printed literature
about Royal Enfield. Those who wanted to shop had a lot of RE merchandise
available for themselves including Tees, coffee mugs, cigarette lighters, books,
etc. Not to mention the whole atmosphere that was kept alive by some outstanding
music being played by DJ BlackJack and DJ Ghani along with live performances
by the rock bands in the evening. G Extra Braking Horse Power | Vol.1 | Issue 3 |

both the wheels, clutch cable and throttle cable from their bike, take it away, and then
reassemble it in the shortest time span. Arm wrestling and beer drinking competitions
were reserved for the latter half of the day which saw
45. Suffering and Identity in Donne and Wit
One s identity may be questioned when suffering; ultimately suffering is what
creates one s sense of self or what destroys it. The poetry of John Donne and the
play W;t, 1993, by Margaret Edson, both illustrate and explore a sense of suffering
and identity. In John Donne s poetry, suffering, both emotionally and physically
allows the speaker to understand their identity in more depth, in comparison to
Margaret Edson s play, W;t, Vivian s suffering
leads her identity to be stripped away.
In Donne s sonnet, If poysonous mineralls we are shown suffering religiously and
emotionally, through one s sin s, questioning god s justice, which leads to a
realisation of one s identity. In Margaret Edson s play, W;t, Vivian s emotional
suffering... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And I their Mapp, who lie Flat on this bed . He describes his body as a map, a
metaphor for his life being a journey, which his doctors attempt to read in order to
discover his illness and his suffering and ultimately where his journey ends. In
reference to Cartography, Donne refers to bearings, using the imagery of a map to
point out that what we see on the western edge of a flat map is also to be found on
the eastern edge, showing that he believes life and death are connected to each
other. In the final stanza, Donne feels joy at the though of death as he feels he will
recover his identity by reuniting with the lord. In the final stanza, he returns to the
idea of the first stanza, summing up the poem s central message with the use of a
paradox. Therefore that he may raise the Lord throws down. This paradox shows
that to rise up to heaven, one must be thrown down by death, so therefore one must
suffer to be accepted and united in a place where one s identity is established. His
extreme suffering has purged and prepared him for paradise.
Vivian s physical suffering is caused by her illness, which slowly deteriorates her
identity. In W;t, Vivian s physical character is enhanced by her power through
Language and it s discourse. As time progresses, cancer slowly cause s her to suffer
physically, and therefore inverts her powerful identity. On page 25, Vivian s body is
clinically deconstructed, the
46. Arctic Like Biomes
The Arctic like biomes has a very limited amount of plant and animal life compared
to other biomes. These Arctic like biomes would include the Arctic of course, the
Taiga, and the Tundra. They are very well known for its ridiculously cold and harsh
climate and is important because it helps moderate our global climate. One example
of an animalfrom these Arctic like biomes is the Mustela obsesipedetes. There is
little doubt that creatures in these Arctic like biomes are perfectly adapted for life in
the cold. In my personal opinion, I believe that the Mustela obsesipedetes is the most
well adapted creature in the whole entire Animalia. The species is a member of the
Mustela genus. The genus Mustela can be characterized by several, distinct... Show

The Mustela albus obesipedetes has adapted to its environment in many numerous
ways such as it is at the top of the food chain in the Arctic, Tundra, and Taiga despite
its appearance. An adaptation it has would be its light, snowy white coat of fur that
can turn into a shade of brown. Over the course of the biome s harsh winters, it snows
a tremendous amount, making everything white, icy, and snowy. In the winter, the
Mustela albus obesipedetes fur is snowy white and turns brown as it transitions to
the summer, blending into the environment. Another characteristic it has is its
ability to keep warm against the jarring cold weather. The Mustela albus
obesipedetes has insulated blubber, making it fat, but helps it keep cozy, warm, and
active throughout its day. The diet of the Mustela albus obesipedetes primarily
consists of meat, such as polar bears, wolves, eagles, foxes, and whatnot. Although
these animals may seem impossible for this small, vulnerable creature to catch, the
Mustela albus obesipedetes hunger and wanting of prey takes on another level of
savage, ferociously defeating its opponent with all its features. The Mustela albus
obesipedetes has a very large diet and likes to eat very much, in reflection to its

47. Effects Of Disney Princess Effect On Girls
Is Disney Destroying Our Girls? As a child, I grew up with the Disney pop culture
surrounding me. I constantly watched Disney movies, cartoons, and I even played
with their toys like every other kid in America during the early 2000s. Not much
has changed except the increase and growth of their industry. With the expanding
$4 billion revenue (Hanes 510) flowing in each year, they have added more
princesses along the way. While some girls are ecstatic over the new additions to
the princess family, some adults are not. This is not a common opinion among
many Disney fanatics to see, but the author of Little Girls or Little Women? The
Disney Princess Effect Stephanie Hanes is one of the few that are not satisfied with
the work of Walt, bringing an eccentric point of view to our attention. Parents, like
Hanes, fear the psychological effect it can leave on their daughters and how it can
potentially narrow their future goals. Hanes s argument uses ethos, logos, and pathos
to skillfully to argue the point of the Disney Princess effect on girls. As a girl, Disney
s industry was an avid part of my youth and I was convinced that I would become
Bellefrom Beauty and the Beast one day. I wrote to Santa and waited patiently for
new princess gowns at Christmas time so I could be a different character each
Halloween. You can say that I have a lot in common with Mary Finucane s daughter
that we hear about in Little Girls or Little Women? The Disney Princess Effect . Ms.
