1. Martin Luther King Jr Essays
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Martin Luther King Jr" poses a considerable challenge due
to the immense significance and depth of his contributions to civil rights, social justice, and his
impact on American history. His life, ideas, and legacy are rich and multifaceted, demanding a
thorough understanding and nuanced analysis to do justice to his memory.
Moreover, delving into King's life requires meticulous research to grasp the complexities of his
activism, speeches, writings, and the historical context in which he operated. This necessitates
sifting through a vast array of primary sources, secondary literature, and scholarly interpretations
to construct a well-informed narrative.
Furthermore, capturing the essence of King's philosophy of nonviolent resistance, his advocacy
for equality, and his vision for a more just society demands a delicate balance of empathy,
critical analysis, and historical accuracy. It requires not only examining his celebrated speeches
like "I Have a Dream" but also exploring lesser-known aspects of his life and lesser-discussed
dimensions of his activism.
Additionally, navigating the myriad perspectives on King's legacy, including criticisms of his
strategies, challenges the writer to engage with differing viewpoints while maintaining coherence
and clarity in their argument.
In conclusion, writing an essay on this topic requires a deep dive into history, a nuanced
understanding of social justice movements, and a commitment to honoring the complexity of
Martin Luther King Jr.'s impact on the world.

2. The Great Gatsby Research Papers
Also known as the American Dream, the Great Gatsby was an intellectual
movement focusing on many different things. From the fashion people flaunted to
the street gangs roaming around The Big Apple, this era involved the flashiest and
the feistiest. The parties that Gatsby threw every Saturday night were infamous.
Many people did not know who he was nor have they ever seen him in person.
They did want to meet new people and enjoy a good ole party. The early 1920 s
was all about love, having a good time, and looking better than the person standing
next to you. He was a millionaire in hiding, considering no one has ever really seen
him or at least recognized who he was. Gatsby lived in a mansion so big it

4. Jeff And Digby s Maturity In Greasy Lake
Three young men are about to undergo a rite of maturity that will take them from
innocence to experience and from the last vestiges of childhood into the opening
round of maturity. The unnamed narrator and his friends Jeff and Digby are what
would today be referred to as poseurs although what they are really are merely young
men struggling to find their identity in an increasingly confusing world. Even so, it
is the misplaced identification with gritty urban heroes of books and screen by these
ordinary suburban boys that situates them into a place where Greasy Lake becomes
the baptismal. Trouble begins with the trio makes a far more miscalculated
misidentification: that of thinking that a car parked up at Greasy Lake belongs to

The narrator, Jeff, and Digby do not immediately flee in the face of the possibility
of homicide. Instead, they turn their attention to the greasy character s girlfriend,
now alone and vulnerable and utterly at the mercy of the skyrocketing levels of
adrenaline and testosterone shooting through the still not fully developed bodies of
the three apparently quite average, ordinary and relatively harmless suburbanites. It
is not the kind of mercy that is desirable as the three move to work out their
mixture of aggression and sexuality on the girl. The arrival of another car quickly
causes a dispersal of the would be gangbangers, however. The narrator chooses to
escape by driving straight into the lake where the night just gets weirder. What
should his brief underwater getaway bring him into contact with but an actual dead

woods, hidden from the suddenly gazing eye of reconstituted greasy character. Turns

5. Oversexualization Of Women In Society
The sexualization of young girls and women in society is a prevalent theme in mass
media. Presently, the sexualization of females is commonly seen in various consumer
items like clothes, dolls, and even in Disney movies, according to The Sexualization
of Girls Is Harmful article. The author says that sexualizationoccurs when a person s
value comes only from his or her sexual appeal or behavior; a person is held to a
standard that equates physical attractiveness with being sexy; a person is sexually
objectified made into a thing for others sexual use; and sexualityis inappropriately
imposed upon a person (AboutKidsHealth). Furthermore, the author provides

The development of visual media has introduced the concept of The Male Gaze
Theory. The Male Gaze Theory is defined as how women are depicted in the media
from a male perspective, such as presenting women as sexual objects for men s
pleasure (Loreck). The article, inexplicitly, talks about the male gaze: Up to 81% of
music videos contain sexual imagery, the majority of which sexually objectifies
women by presenting them in revealing clothing, as decorative sexual objects,
dancing sexually, or in ways that emphasize body parts or sexual readiness. The
article talks about how women are sexually presented in the media which is what the
male gaze encompasses the male gaze is a harmful contribution to the sexualization
of girls and is also seen throughout the music video. The beginning of the music
video shows 50 Cent walking into a brothel type mansion where the camera pans to
focusing on the writhing, half naked women in the foyer of the mansion. This
scene is viewed from a male s perspective because the camera focuses on their
sensual movements and physical assets instead of their normal facial expressions
or more appropriate places on their body. Also, since 50 Cent is the only male in the
mansion, the camera is only coming from a male perspective because brothels are
only truly for a male s pleasure. The other women in the video are objectified from
their revealing clothing
6. Mass Serial Vs Serial Killers
In the days we live in now it has turned into a common thing to hear about serial
killers and mass murders. We have all heard of serial killers and mass murders but
many of us don t know the difference or differences between the two. Since we hear
so much about both but know very little about serial killers and their victims we must
try to find ways to understand the reason of the murders and find out more about the
victims who have been killed.
Both serial killers and mass murders are often confused with each other. In fact until
the year 1974 serial killers were considered mass murderers. Much of the confusion
between mass murder and serial murder is due to the fact of the very many
definitions have been used by law enforcement in the past four to five decades. All
the definitions are similar in some ways but also very different in others. The
differences between all the definitions is usually when describing the motives, the
number of victims, and the time between each murder taking place.
Serial murder is usually a single murder at a time with two to ten victims or more
over all. The time in between of each murder is called a cooling off period which is
what determines between a serial killer and mass murderer. A cooling period or break
is when the serial killer is taking time off from killing because he or she is calming
down in an emotional way; when in this state of cooling the killer may seem normal
to a bystander which is why they re able to be on the loose for

According to the Singapore consumer watchdog, there have been an increasing
number of complaints against tuition agencies in the country. With the given
situation, the quality of education is then compromised. Several agencies remain to
be unregulated, making and following their own rules. Given the standard
regulations and procedures, owners still remain to be deviant. Others owners are
informed however, that they still manage to overlook the standards. To serve as a
guideline, the following is a discussion on the standard procedures on how to set up a
tuition agencyin Singapore.
Two Methods to Register
Basically, there are two methods of registration: 1) smart and paper forms and 2)
electronic registration.
The first method requires ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
CPE Requirement
1. Evidence of Registration by ACRA
All the relevant documents from ACRA must be forwarded to CPE for compliance.
Without the requirements, the applicants cannot move forward to further registration
procedures. One of the requirements checked is the tuition agency for proprietary.
The proprietary name is integrated with academy, school, or education to be labelled
as a place of learning.
The CPE makes sure that no two tuition agencies have the same name, otherwise
parents and students will be confused. Association with the government such as the
inclusion of Singapore, nations or government is also discouraged.
2. Details of the Agency Managers
A list of the ruling body for the tuition agency must also be identified. The
managers are the same with the listed directors of the business as registered by
ACRA. A full personal detail in the Declaration Form is required. In case of the
issues, this form serves as a proof for accountability of the managers. It is also used
for scrutiny.
3. Suitability of the Agency Premises
The agency premise is more on the infrastructure allotted by the tuition agency. Much
like in every educational institution, there is a minimum space for classrooms and
administrative duties. Aside from the enclosures, CPE also requires all the premises
to be danger free. In fact, CPE ensures that the

In the specialty literature doubts persist in using this terminology, especially in
relation to the scope of the hospitality industry. Thus, a series of authors consider as
part of this field only food and accommodation services, perhaps because those
benefits are offered under the same premises works like industrial units, other
authors, however, consider it appropriate a broader approach, including leisure
services and even the marketing of products.

In terms of ownership, tour operators are found in both the private and public sector
Private Sector. Increasing the number of transactions and mergers within the industry
came amid vertical or horizontal integration. Horizontal integration involves
expanding within an industry sector, for example through the development of hotel
chains or network by opening new routes. Companies grouped in this formula is in an
integrated chain, controlled by a unique decision. They offer a homogeneous product
sold under the same brand, using the techniques work together. Horizontal integration

9. Female Genital Mutilation
Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), otherwise known as female circumcision, is a
traumatic procedure performed on women and young girls, primarily in Eastern
parts of the world. Among these parts, it is most common in North Eastern,
Eastern, and Western Africa, parts of the Middle East, and South East Asia. By
destroying the external female genitalia, a woman cannot produce sexual desires.
This approach assures that a girl will remain abstinent and a virgin until marriage.
Although is has been kept a private issue, organizations such as Tostan are trying to
reach out to communities and teach about the harmful effects of these cuttings.
FGM survivors are trying to spread awareness as well. Depending on the severity
of mutilation, short and long term ramifications can result. This can make the
women affected physically and psychologically scarred. It is not only important to
spread awareness, but to enforce harsher laws and put an end to social ostracism.
The assurance of acceptance and the preservation of tradition are the two main
causes of FGM. Many women fear that if they do not allow this procedure to
happen, they will be disowned by not only their family, but whole community. The
World Health Organization defines FGM as all procedures involving partial or total
removal of the external female genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs
for non medical reasons. Most of the time, the mutilation is executed on girls that
have not yet reached the age of

11. Persuasive Essay On My Grandmother s Death
For instance, Huttman asks, Did we really believe that we had a right to force life
on a suffering man who had begged for the right to die? (344). Although, I do
disagree with the Phil Donahue Show s audience calling Huttmann a murderer,
because she did not kill anyone at all. She only let Mac die when his body said that
the time was right. Huttman experiences his death, Then there was one soft sigh
and I felt his hands go cold in mine. Mac? I whispered, as I waited for his chest to
rise and fall again (344). Since Huttman expresses concern for Mac, and she does
nothing to cause his death proves to me that she is far from a murderer. Especially
considering that she comforted and sympathized him. After experiencing my
grandmother s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since she starts her story out by the audience calling her a murderer, this allows the
reader to decide for themselves as the story progresses. Enjoyably, the author makes
readers wonder two things: if we have a right to die and the position that the medical
field gets pushed into. Clearly, this passage is powerful, because Huttman uses
emotions from her, Mac, and his wife. Near the end, Huttman states, We do not have
a right to die (345). This end statement makes the readers wonder about what could
happen to them if they ever get put into this position. Putting this sentence at the end
makes the essay more influential. Meanwhile, the story builds up to the sentence, and
then that sentence leaves the readers wondering, and thinking about our right to die.
For the most part, Huttman s essay was exceedingly entertaining and I enjoyed her
work. Huttman used suspense and emotion throughout the entire piece. Huttman
explains, Each time he stopped breathing, sometimes two or three times in one day,
the code, the code team came again (343). Significantly, this sentence plays the
reader s emotion by showing how often Mac would pass away. Another example that
shows that this is entertaining is, I thought about what it would be like to stand
before a judge, accused of murder, if Mac stopped breathing and I didn t call a code
(Huttman 344). No doubt, this draws interest to the storyline and
12. The Influence Of Social Media On The Fashion Industry
Influence of Social Media on the Fashion Industry According to Katie Hope, from
the BBC News, Burberry, a fashion retailer, has nearly 40 million followers across
20 different social media platforms and openly admits that it has become as much a
media content producer as a design company. Burberry, as well as other name brand
designers, has ditched the catwalk and other ancient fashionrituals for a more edgy
approach towards promoting their identity. During the turn of the century, the
creation of media outlets are used by both consumers and producers alike. The
producers within the industry, use the top three social media platforms, Twitter,
Instagram, and Facebook, to project upcoming sales, designer lines, and hire
famous people from all different fields to advertise their brand, (Moving Faster).
Although many in the fashion industry continue to utilize magazines and
commercials to promote their brands, this practice has become less common due to
the rapid development of various social media outlets. Fashion producers need to
embrace social media as an increasingly important platform with which to promote
their products because of its large fan base, relatively inexpensive means of
spreading the word and its very wide adoption for millennials but increasingly more
so for people of all generations.
Due to the invention of social media, many producers have approached celebrities,
many of whom have a large quantity of followers, to use their accounts in order to
reach a
13. External Pressure Of Domestic Politics And Foreign Policy
Domestic Politics and Foreign Policy
Although the aspirations and goals of states are often motivated by external political
pressures, analysis of recent foreign policy decisions demonstrates how internal
political forces can play equally crucial roles in the pursuit and execution of these
objectives. Thus, it would be invalid to claim that domestic politics and the nature of
regimes play minor roles in either the goals a state pursues or the means it employs
to reach them. By understanding how the diffusion of power in governments affect
policy decisions, one can develop increased awareness of the linkages that exist
between the internal pressures of domestic politics and the external forces of foreign
politics.

As the commander in chief, the president plays a significant role in shaping foreign
policy. The president possesses the power to appoint senior cabinet members, commit
troops and conduct high level talks with foreign governments. Congress, on the other
hand, has the power to ratify treaties, confirm the president s appointees and approve
budgetary measures. And while the president has the ability to commit troops, only
Congress has the authority to declare war. Despite criticisms of the American policy
making process describing it as inefficient and slow moving, the main purpose and
thus benefit of the constitutional separation of power is the framework of checks and
balances that safeguard against monopolization of foreign policy decision making.
But despite the provisions outlined in the Constitution outlining the separation of
power between the executive and legislative branch in the formulation of foreign
policy, congressional influence over foreign policy decisions waned after World War
II. During the Vietnam War, the Johnson and Nixon administrations became
increasingly secretive and monopolized foreign policy decision authority. Ultimately,
however, the growing imbalance of influence of the executive branch in foreign
policy decisions led to the creation of the War Powers Act. The Act stipulated that the
president was required to report to Congress within 48 hours after the
14. Culture In Japanese Culture
Culture is a significant theme in this film. One important factor to point out is
throughout Stevenson s trip in Japan, he is hit with culture shock and the same can
be said for the Japanese executives. Stevenson mocks how the Japanese exchange
business cards during the presentation, how they eat with chopsticks and how rigid
and structured Japanese cultureis. This culture clash not only affected the characters
personal lives, but also impacted the business. Research has clearly established that
culture affects the application of managementtheories and practices. Work values, in
particular, are an important part of cross cultural understanding in that they are
themselves measures of cultural dimensions, and also have strong implications for
many areas of management, from employee motivation to organizational
communication (Matić, 2008). Almost immediately after opening up the doors to
the plant, there were problems. The Japanese people had a very strict and rigid
way of running their businesses and doing their work as compared to the
lackadaisical American work ethic. The plant workers are expected to perform
calisthenics in the morning, are denied basic privileges like sick leave, paid overtime
and a union. The town and these workers are in such a desperate situation that they
decide to withstand the abuse and impossible demands set by the Japanese plant
owners. It is difficult enough to manage a business with workers and executives that
have a common culture and
15. Arts Is An Institution Of Higher Education
Wesleyan is an institution of higher education, and I would place education at the
center of all fine arts programming.
Many of us are aware of the transformative power of Arts performances and exhibits.
I ll call this arts enrichment. The Arts reach deeply into our unconscious minds and
make an imprint beyond where the written or spoken word can go. The Arts open
minds to pluralistic thinking and banish barriers between various groups within the
human race without in your face politics or flag waving sentimentality. With subtlety
of expression, the Arts elevate us to our best selves, and our society to both its
cultural differences and oneness. But many of us know this.
Arts Education (capital E) is a noble pursuit to which I devote much of my life and
career. Every student needs the vocabulary, skills and perceptions gained by
studying Art, Culture and the Humanities. Too many people say, I took piano for a
few years, but I quit, or I saw the movie, why go out on a rainy night to see the play,
unaware that music belongs to us all, art belongs to us all, and a cathartic experience
in a darkened theater makes us think, feel and become more human. Art is as much a
way for us to understand ourselves as knowing our history or understanding the laws
of physics. Art is not for artists and talented people, art is for us all, but some
students may not see the relevance of attending an art opening when final exams are
looming.
Beyond arts enrichment and Arts Education, is the
16. School Life And College Life Essay
An Essay on School Life and College Life
There is a great deal of difference between school life and college life. School life is
a life of restrictions and control, a life in which the student has to be accountable for
his daily work to his teachers and his guardian. But a college student, of the other
hand, enjoys much greater freedom from control and supervision; he is, to a very
large extent, the master of his own destiny. It lies with him to make it or mar it.
At school the students has to be in attendance for fixed hours every day. He has to
leave home at ten or eleven and return at four at college, however, the hours of
attendance very. Sometimes, a college student has hardly time in the morning to
gulp his food; at others, he has enough time to lounge about for a few minutes after
a leisurely meal. On some days he returns early from college; or others, it is late
evening by the time he gets back home. He has ample time at his disposal to use,
abuse, or misuse.
At school the student has to prepare his daily lessons and may be taken to task for
what he has left undone. But at college he can do his lessons daily, or not ... Show

At school, students acquire habits of discipline and regularity. They have to

develop a sense of responsibility and personal initiative. In other words, what a

his greater sense of responsibility. Of course it has to be admitted that college life
offers greater scope to a student to go astray. It he takes himself light heartedly, he
will have to suffer. It he allows arrears of studies to accumulate he will pay the price
with failure and disgrace. Hence a studious pupil improves more rapidly at college

20. A Brief Look at Mary Magdalene
As an influential biblical figure, Mary Magdalene has been the subject of numerous
works of art. She has been represented in a variety of tropes and styles; which were
subject to the religious, political, and social standards of the time. Giacomo Galli s
Saint Mary Magdalene was painted in the early seventeenth century in Italy, at the
beginning of the Baroqueera. By contorting Magdalene s body, bathing her in light
and encompassing her in darkness, Galli was able to present the viewer with an
image representative of her divided identity.
Galli likely chose to paint the Magdalene because she was one of the most popular
saints in Baroque Italy. As Susan Haskins (author of Mary Magdalen: Myth and
Metaphor) notes, from the thirteenth century, the penitent Magdalene became the
most popular image of the saint in Italy, as the perfect example of a reformed sinner.
Magdalene s ______ demonstrated a realistic path of personal improvement. Her
reputation, at the time, revolved around her supposed past as a prostitute.
Historically, this meant that she was cured of a physical ailment and not of
prostitution. However, as it was believed that Magdalene s transformation from
prostitute to apostle made her accessible to the Catholic community, the church
exemplified this notion in order to make Magdalene a suitable role model for
repentance.
Religiously charged Baroque paintings of the seventeenth century, such as Galli s
Saint Mary Magdalene, were created by two distinctly
21. The Role Of A Superintendent Within A School District
Introduction Much of this clinical experience has been examining the specific role of
a superintendent within a school district. I found that the reflections as part of the
weekly journal to of particular interest and benefit as I examined he Guiding
Questions for this final synthesis essay. Interestingly, my colleagues in this course
found these reflectionsnot to be beneficial. During one of our class meetings it was
noted that these were not a beneficial exercise and that reflectionwas not needed. To
that, I would counter that reflection s always needed but it is often the easiest item
to overlook. In our hectic administrative world, it is easy to become buried in
Administrivia. Often we do not event take a moment to move from one crisis to the
next. Reflection is the only way we can halt the inexorable march to the end. I for
one, was pleased that we were asked to reflect on each week. I took this as an
opportunity to examine the actions of the superintendentand, in a risk free
environment, provide my perspective on the positive or negative actions observed or
experienced. Hopefully the observations and judgments in those weekly journals
remain an academic exercise and not a communique to my superintendent. As I re
read the journal entries and focus them with the lens of the guiding questions, I have
some final thoughts about my qualifications and idiosyncrasies that may come into
play if ever I was afforded the honor of being a superintendent.

A Toast to Beowulf
Greetings, Welcome to the Mead Hall of Hrothgar for our dinner party in honor of
the Great Beowulf. Beowulf is the greatest warrior to ever live and has saved us all
from the horrifying Grendel. I will now say a toast in honor of the great Beowulf. We
were all in the reign of terror from Grendel s raging hatred for man for twelve whole
years. His killings didn t ever cease or get easier. We have received a great hero
who has traveled from his own country where he has heard of the great terror that
Grendel has caused us and has decided to help us by volunteering to fight against the
mythical creature that is undefeatable. So Beowulf chose the mightiest men he could

Beowulf was recognized as a hero in his own country for the countless battles he
had. Now, Beowulf has been a great King to us and once he had heard of the
attacks to his kingdom by a fire breathing dragon he knows that he must go to
battle with this creature to save his people. Instead of sending warriors to battle for
him because he s older he decides he must go and fight the dragon himself. He
knows it s the only way to save his people from this dragon. He also realizes that it
is his time to go and that the only noble way to die is in an epic battle. The only
way he can have true honor is in combat. When they gather on the mountain with
his men he tells them that he must go and defeat this dragon on his own for his
people and that the gold that the dragon protects will be left for his people. He
went to battle knowing that he will probably die going against this fire breathing
dragon. He went anyways because he knew that it would save his people. He would
leave everything he owns for his warriors and his people. Beowulf took on that
dragon for a chance that we would save his kingdom from this horrifying creature.
Beowulf is a true hero because he

I am proud to be an Eagle Scout. Since first grade, when I joined Cub Scouts, I have
participated in and enjoyed the Scouting program, and I cannot imagine what my life
would have been like without it. Though not all of my friends continued through
scouting (in fact I am the only member of my Cub scout den who continued through
Scouts), I have continuously made new friends and relationships through the scouting
program. Scouting has been a defining part of my life, and my life would be
drastically different without the Scouting program. During fifth grade, after
completing my arrow of light and crossing over from Cub scouts to Boy scouts, I
learned that no longer were our parents responsible for running and planning meetings
and outings. It was a wholly different kind of experience.... Show more content on

Rather than being lead by the older scouts, it was me and my friends who began to
run the troop. The ones that I had looked up to had mostly left, and, almost

was a troop guide, then an Assistant senior patrol leader, and then the quartermaster.
All the while, I continued on my own to advance steadily through the scouting
ranks. However, with these greater responsibilities, came greater enjoyment to be

of troop sponsored camping trips. I was nominated for, and accepted into, the

24. Cognitive Behavior Therapy And Family Based Treatment
Anorexia nervosa is a debilitating disorder that affects the lives of many adolescents
and can serious if not fatal consequences if not treated properly (Hurst Zimmer
Gembeck, 2015; Wilson, Grilo, Vitousek, 2007; Westwood Kendal, 2012; Grave,
Calugi, Ghoch, Conti Fairburn, 2014). Two interventions that are often used in the
treatment of AN are cognitive behavior therapy and familybased treatment. Cognitive
behavior therapy (CBT) and family based treatment (FBT) can either be used
separately or in conjunction depending on the patient s response and the degree of
the disorder (Doyle, Le Grange, Loeb, Doyle, Crosby, 2012; Lock et al., 2015;

Categorically, adolescents with anorexia nervosa have a chronic low body weight and
are below 85 percent of their expected body weight (Lock, Fitzpatrick, 2007).
Anorexia nervosa is most commonly diagnosed in adolescents, an age that can
increase the risks of malnutrition, weight loss, osteoporosis, growth arrest, and
absent puberty. Anorexia nervosa can damage an adolescent s identity, and has the
highest death rates of any psychiatric illness (Aspen Boutelle, 2013; Grave et al.,
2014). Adolescents that suffer from anorexia nervosa tend to be perfectionists
causing them to focus on negative beliefs, fear of failure, and fear of disapproval.
They are often high achievers, are inflexible and rigid in their thinking, and see their
symptoms as achievements (Hurst Zimmer Gembeck, 2015; Westwood Kendal, 2012).
Three themes emerge in anorexia nervosa patients: control, tensions between the
client s wants and the clinical intervention, and therapeutic alliance (Westwood
Kendal, 2012). For patients, anorexia nervosa both controls them and gives them
control. Patients are torn between trying to overcome their disorder and enjoying the
control they have over their body. Clients being treated for anorexia nervosa are
challenged during treatment because they need to address both their physical and
psychological needs (Westwood Kendal, 2012). They want to have a say during their

Whether or not you realize it, there is energy all around us. This energy changes
and influences the way the world works. When someone tells you to think of
energy, the first thing that likely comes to mind is electricity or heat, as that is
what we commonly see and hear about. If you are asked to think of a powerful
kind of energy, you may think of radiation or fire, as they can kill people and
destroy forests. Although these may be the most obvious kinds of energy, there is
another kind of energy that can be both more helpful and more dangerous; shock
waves. These waves surround us, yet we have only just began to explore their many
uses. Shock waves can be used by animals and humans for both utility and offense.

the frequency that an object vibrates at when hit. When a sound at an object s

a human cannot create enough volume without machinery to shatter glass unless it is

her character is merely an extension of Sade s writing and any further personal action

occasional polarizing arguments with Marat which solidified his position as a creator
rather than just an another character. Furthermore, his ability to physically pace and
project a louder presence in contrast to Marat within the performance space highlights
an another aspect of power separation between the two central characters.
I believe that such displays of power inequality amongst characters such as Sade and
Marat could be further explored through the cage like setting stated earlier. Upon
entering the intimate yet slightly claustrophobic theatre, the audience and I were
faced with a unique and privileged seating arrangement where three rows of seating
surrounded a central metal cage. The cage is reminiscent of a prison compound with
high iron fences that have wrapped around the stage except for a single entrance/exit

27. Sagging Pants Is Deviant Behavior Essay
A deviant behavior is a label attached to a person s activity that is conducted in a
manner outside the normalized zone of conformity within a society. There is the
perception of how people view or understand certain demeanors. Next, a behavior
may be considered illegal in the eyes of the law and it may also be viewed as
immoral, unethical or inappropriate in the eyes of the people. Moreover, deviant
behavior is conceptualized in the eyes of the public even when an act is not illegal.
Although this may be true, there is still the circle of cultural beliefs and upbringings

On the other hand, wearing saggy pants is a matter of free will and of choice. It is
part of a person s identity. Why would wearing pants that show underwear be
considered deviant? Feldman(1984) indicates, norms are enforced to show people
what type of behaviors are accepted within a members of society. Furthermore, this
raises the point in asking the question, why there are no rules against women wearing
revealing tops? In my opinion, I think it s just a matter of choice and how members
of a society view such acts which are not criminalistic.
I believe that sagging may be more predominant in lower classes such as college
freshmen because they are just getting out of high school and may still be more
involved in the trendy urban fashion statements. Next, in regards to sagging being
used by upper level classmen such as seniors, I think that they would tend to use less
of sagging pants because of their age and maturity level.
In the same fashion, I believe school dropouts would tend to sag more than medical
doctors because of the difference in professionalism. In my opinion, doctors are
professionals and are not trying to look cool or make a fashion statement. In
addition, I believe that some dropouts would have a lesser sense of ethical and
acceptable morals. But, at the same time, I still find wearing specific styles of clothing
is a matter of choice.
I think that the answer to this question may take on

with clients as well as colleagues. Having the right communication skills, and the
ability to have an educated in depth conversation with your client in an interview

the best you can to fulfill his needs. Learning how to create trust, control your

community before the 1980s, outside of slurs, people have always identified outside
of the norm. From about 1988, activists began to use the initialism LGBTin the
United States. Despite the fact that LGBT does not nominally encompass all
individuals in smaller communities (pansexual, nonbinary, agender, etc.) the term
is generally accepted to include those not specifically identified in the four letter
initialism (Shankle). According to LGBT, the first documented gay rights
organization was founded by Henry Gerber. Gerber founded the The Society for
Human Rights in Chicago, Illinois in 1924. The fight for LGBT rights has been a
long and hard road and it will never end as long as the community is seen as
inferior by straight and cisgendered people. Marriage equality was a huge step in
progress for same sex couples but that doesn t mean queer people are still equally
respected in today s society. The three main discriminatory actions taken against
LGBT Americans have been violence, employment discrimination, and inaccessible
health care. Violence towards members of the community has always been a huge
issue. Lesbian, gay and transgenderpeople, especially those of color, experience
violence at disproportionately high rates compared to straight cisgender people.

Although regarded highly for many achievements, the most important contribution of
his lifetime was the uncharacteristically secular Life of Charlemagne, which has since
become a topic of great discussion and scrutiny. Many contemporary historians
criticize Einhards biography about the mighty Frankish ruler on the basis that it
seems to be biased towards painting a near perfect picture of Charlemagnes reign as
king and eventually emperor. There definitely seems to be a one sided view present,
taking into consideration some of the opening statements Einhard prefaces his

Einhard didn t want this to comprise all of what made Charle s a great king. He

38. Literary Analysis Of George Orwell s Politics And The...
In George Orwell s essay Politics and the English Language he criticises the
modern prose and addresses where the problems come from. His main point is that
written works often have a staleness of imagery and lack of precision. By this he
means the writer uses cliche and repeated phrases in their works, and they use
words that will take away from the meaning more than it would add to it. Orwell
discusses that most of these problems arise from imitation and the use of
meaningless words. He feels that people will read something and find a wordor phrase
they like and repeat that in there work, which makes it stale. Using words just
because they sound better and will fill out more space does not always mean they
will fit the sentence... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This metaphor is fresh and able to be understood. Another example of a unique simile
he uses is It follows that any struggle against the abuse of language is a sentimental
archaism, like preferring candles to electric light or hansom cabs to aeroplanes. ,
this refers to the the English language and the adoption of imitation of bad usage.
In his example the all of the former objects listing are outdated and obviously the
latter is a much better version. By comparing this to the english language he is
able to get across that it is best to use the better version, thus making the english
language better. Both the simile and metaphor show Orwell following his rule. He
uses a creative metaphor and simile to show compare and show the bad uses of the
english language. The second rule is to never use a long word where a short one
will do. This goes along with his one main point that there is a lack of imagery in
modern prose. When using a long word that might not fit as well as the shorter
word the sentence will become unclear. Orwell has many sentences that are long
and describe something happening, yet his meaning is always clear because he
uses shorter words that mean exactly what it says. One example of this is in his
short story Shooting an Elephant he says When I pulled the trigger I did not hear
the bang or feel the kick one never does when a shot goes

He weaves the soul of the person he is to portray out of emotions that were dearer to
him than everyday sensations (Stanislavsky, K: 1936).
I believe this is one of the most effective ways of acting, but in modern cinema this
techniques has often been described as dangerous to the actor s mental health. This
is because the actor creates a new character by using his own experiences and
reawakens emotional trauma that is part of his own life, and not that of solely the
character.
The following exercise allows the actor to focus their senses to become more
receptive to sense memory.
The actors should begin by focusing on the three dominant senses: sight, sound and
touch. The actor should then choose an object that appeals to these senses and start to
explore it intensely. The actor should become aware of which sense is the most
dominant and record the finding to discuss afterwards.
Next, the actor should assume a comfortable position and focus all attention on a
single stimulus such as a colour, sound, texture etc.) This should carry on for about 5
minutes, after which the findings should be documented and discussed (Taylor, J.
2001).
I feel that these exercises are useful if performed before rehearsals by only the actor.
The experiences the actor gained through these exercises should only be available for
recall during rehearsals. It is not important for the director to know how or where the
41. Bram Stoker s Novel Dracula
Bram Stokers novel Dracula is an intriguing novel, which puts forth many ideas to
contemplate. Gender roles and the status of women in society are two values
immensely evident throughout the novel. The novel is based in the 1800s, a time in
history when a new uprising in feminine attitudes and ides was emerging. These new
women directly opposed the gender roleof women during the Victorian era. Although
this change was unfavourable and opposed, it went ahead and forever changed
feminine ideas in society. Stoker uses Lucy, Mina and the three vampirewomen to
portray the changes in society.
Women in the 1800s were stereotyped and confined to specific roles in society,
however it all changed. The 1800s in Victorian England, created an environment,
which encouraged stereotypes, aimed at women in which they were required to stay
at home and be The Angels of the House. Women were not only constricted to very
narrow gender roles where they are expected to be mothers, pure, naГЇve and
dependant on their husbands. Jobs such as teaching and nursing were seen as
women jobs only and these were the only jobs women should do. However, the
Industrial Revolution helped open a new era for women in society and this
allowed women to feel the need to stand up for their rights and challenge the
stereotypes of the society. Lucy Westenra is a typical young, beautiful girl whose
main aim is to marry and do what is accepted in society as a wife. She is seen as a
marginal figure whose
42. Jim Jones Religion Analysis
Ever since Jim Jones was a little boy he has always believed in god and it never
stop when he grew up to the point the he became a preacher for a church called
people s temple. In the beginning everything seems fine a great, Jones was a great
preacher, the audience was good, it just seems like a normal church the people will
go to and believe that Jones had good intention of helping people to believe in god
and helping the poor but that slowly soon turn into something more sinister. The
people s temple moved to California than Jim Joneswanted to move but not only him
he wanted people s temple to move to someone where they can start fresh, talk
about god and not get discrimination wherever they go. 900 and maybe more people
follow Jim Jones to Jonestown in Guyana that is where they settled at and stay
there for their rest of their life if only they knew what was about to come. While
the days pass by the more Jim Jones stated to lose himself he started to think that he
was god that the people with him was his children s than he started to take drugs
and change things for example he made everyone that came to Jonestown to give
him their passbook because no one could leave the area without his permission
another example was back talking or being racist and sexist if you did any of those
and someone knew they had to go to Jones and tell them what you did and you will
get punished for it to the point that you couldn t even trust nobody not even your own
child because they were
43. An Electronic Health Record ( Ehr )
IV.METHODOLOGY
An Electronic Health Record (EHR) is a methodical group of EHR about an single
patient or multiple patients. It is a record in digital data format that is theoretically
able to being shared across distinct health care systems and doctors. In some casing
this division can be occur by way of networks systems and other information
networks or exchange systems. EHRs may consists verity of data, contain
demographics, medical history, medication and allergies, immunisation status, work
place test results, radiology images, vital mark, personal numeral number similar age
and weight, and billing message. Methodology used behind this is to take the
dissimilar images from dissimilar medical Equipment like EEG, ECG, Dental, CT
Scan, X ray machine as input images for the processing storing into the database.
The image product data format of these machines is distinct in data format. OSCAR
EMR system takes these images as input translate it into the proper JPEG or PNG
format. Converted image are stored in MySql databank server by using the DICOM.
The Scan Image if already blurred images then it need do processing. The Image
Enhancement noise removal is done by using Median Filtering in OpenCV. The Web
browser page is design Program in Java Script. The Image processing is done in
OpenCV by using the Python scripting.

44. Confucianism Personal Statement
I am an American born Taiwanese. When I was 5, my father taught me the art of
Asian is Confucianism. In my life, I was taught to help people. As a Taiwanese, I
was taught with Confucianism. My grandparents always told me to be kind with
people, then people will be nice with you. When I was in college, I took a after
school course to help Recycling the garbage. During 3 weeks, I woke up at 5:30 at
weekends, riding scooter to the Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation(BTCMF). I
help organizing the trash can. I was helping people gathering the garbage, and
organize the trash into order. I put plastic, metal, bottles in different area. Besides
me, my friend and other elder from the community nearby came to help for this
program. There are 15 tons of garbage each day, and we spend only 3 hours to clean
all the trash. With our help, BTCMF become the hear of the community.

45. Genetically Modified Organisms, Or Gmos, Are Genetically
Genetically Modified Organisms, or GMOs, are genetically modified plants, animals,
or microorganisms whose genetic information has been modified by DNA editing
methods such as DNA splicing or gene modification. This modification creates
unstable combinations of plant, animal, or bacterial genes that are not found in
nature (GMO Facts). It is the right of the consumer to know exactly what they are
consuming. However, in the United States, it is not required that food containing
GMOs has to be labeled, despite the fact that in 2015, 93% of Americans believed
that genetically modified foodshould be labeled (GMO Facts). Foods containing
GMOs should indeed be labeled because the consumer deserves to know what is in
their food. It is not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bacteria develops an immunity to antibodies when genes go through natural
mutation. When attaching a desired gene to an antibiotic resistance gene the new
GM plant can be tested by growing it in a solution containing the corresponding
antibiotic (GMO: Harmful Effects). If the plant survives, scientists know that it
has taken an antibiotic resistance gene along with the desired gene. Because of
this, there is concern that bacteria living in humans and animals could pick up
antibiotic resistance (GMO: Harmful Effects). Genetically modified foods should
also be labeled because those who are environmentally conscience would not
purchase objects that have been genetically modified. Genetically modified crops
are engineered to resist strong herbicides. As a result, the use of toxic herbicides
has increased by 16 percent. Because of this, herbicide resistant super weeds and
super bugs have developed which requires stronger chemicals, such as 2, 4 D
(which is an ingredient that can be found in the toxic Agent Orange). This chemical,
2, 4 D is known to cause various types of cancers and deformities (Reno). Another
chemical, glyphosate, which can be found in Roundup, is being used on genetically
modified plants. Glyphosphate is a known carcinogen; and we have been ingesting it
as a result of the consumption of genetically modified foods (Cassidy). It has been
proven that farmers who are exposed to glyphosphate are
46. Analyzing The Basics Of An Income Statement
If you are part of the business world, you need to be aware of some of the financial
statements companies are required to produce. If you ve heard people talk about
profits and losses, the chances are they are talking about an income statement. For
people who haven t gone through accounting school, these statements can be all
Greek to you.
But understanding income statements is vital for anyone who s involved with the
sector. This guide is going to explain the basics of an income statement, help you
understand the terminology used in these statements and provide you with tips for
analysing income statements.
What is an income statement?
An income statement is an essential part of a company s financial records. The
official definition says an income statement is:
A financial document generated monthly and/or annually that reports the earnings of
a company by stating all relevant revenues (or gross income) and expenses in order
to calculate net income. Also referred to as a profit and loss statement.
In essence, the income statement looks at the financial performance of an entity over
a specific period in time. It providers the entity a summary of the revenue and
expenses by looking at operating and non operating activities.
In most instances, an income statement looks at the net profit or loss of the entity
over a fiscal year, but in certain instances, this could also be a quarter or even a
month.
In crude terms, an income statement is divided into two sections:

Video games are not quite as simple as people think. Bringing together the creative
vision of one person or a few hundred people; they are large endeavors that require
much time and talent. The resulting product is what you play; the art that is a video
game. Seamlessly blending the ideas and talents of so many people into a moving
story or narrative, where the story is told not solely through words or pictures, but
through words and pictures. This is not solely for the enjoyment of the player,
however. Video games also hold a special place as art, where those words and pictures
come together as one in a beautiful way. The first piece that is seen by the player is...

This gives your game a clear style, which is used to market it. This style is also art,
and the style can range from a game like Borderlands, with its cell shaded models
and textures, to Bloodborne, with its hyper realistic representation of a neo gothic
world with fantastical monsters and weaponry. These models and textures are the
visual representation of the story and setting of the game. The story is the second
thing that people look at with regards to a video game. Considered more of a
narrative, the story of a video game is told through the models and textures, as well
as the spoken lines between characters, whether main or background. The story
does not write itself, however, and has a process quite like the design. Paladin
Studios suggests that you first create the world, such as the places you will visit.
Next, you would create the characters, followed by an overarching story. This story
will then be broken down into the main story, which will finally become the story
that is in the final game. This final story will be the words spoken by the characters,
the cutscenes that are made, the text on loading screen, the environment even official
outside sources can tell parts of the story, or expand upon others (Paladin Studios).
Notice that part of the story is the environment, the artwork that you may have made
earlier. These environments can set people free from the
48. Inflation Is A Serious Imbalance
Inflation is considered to be one of the most harmful economic phenomena that
manifest in contemporary economies, being considered a chronic disease difficult
to control, which can cause recessions (Thornton, 2012, p. 119). Inflation is a
serious imbalance in the currently economy and is represented by a generalized
increase in prices and a simultaneous decrease in the purchasing power of the
national currency. It is a final indicator that shows at the end of a fiscal period if the
monetary, fiscal and legal policies were coordinating and were leading to consumer
price stability. Deflation is often defined as the opposite of inflation, namely as a
situation where there is a general decrease in prices over a long period of time.
However,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As it can be seen in figure 1, CPI (as reported by the Federal Reserve Bank of St.
Louis FRED) recorded an upward general trend over time. After the crisis of
1980s, a period which was preceded by the Great Inflation from 1965 to 1984, the
CPI encountered a strong increase which held (with some small variations, as in the
1990s and 2000s) till the beginning of 2008, when the financial crisis struck the
economy. After 2008 2010 (a period with low rates), the consumer price index started
to increase, with small variations.
Figure 2. Trimmed Mean PCE Inflation Rate for U.S. (quarterly data) Source: FRED
Looking at figure 2 above, we can observe that the level of inflation (as a percent
change) has experienced a maximum for the recovery period in 2012 of nearly 2
percent. After this point, the decreasing trend was retaken. The Trimmed Mean PCE
inflation rate is another method to measure the inflation in the price index of the
personal consumption expenditures (PCE). Here it must be noted that FED
practiced an inflation target policy of about 2 percent, specified since the beginning
of 2012. The 2 percent target was mostly a reinforcement of the FED commitment
of low inflation rates and a ratifying of a policy which was practiced for a long time.
The 2 percent path was maintained since 1995 (Williamson, 2014, p. 112).
The imbalances of the price level stability are caused mainly by the monetary mass
49. Pros And Cons Of Gray Wolves
The debate about whether or not gray wolves should be allowed or should not be
allowed in Yellowstone National Park has been around for a long time. There are
many pros and cons as to whether their presence and role is , valuable or legitimate.
In my opinion wolves should have their own natural habitat such as Yellowstone
National Park.
Quite often gray wolves have been a threat to ranchers, they had killed the ranchers
sheep and cattle. The aftermath of wolves doing so would make ranchers have to
spend more money on buying more cattle, not to mention the loss of the genetic
bloodline and having to deal with a loss of newborns. Ranchers would become very
upset with wolves and would soon take matters into their own hands. Ranchers would

Many living organisms depend on that ecosystem that the wolves help improve, for
example eagles and ravens. The scavengers, such as magpies, ravens, and other
carrion eating birds, depend on remnants from wolf kills. other benefits of gray
wolves killing include culling the weakest and sickest of herds such as bison, deer,
elk, bighorn sheep and other indigenous animals from the Yellowstone National Park
ecosystem.
With the reintroduction with wolves in Yellowstone National Park there has been
more eco tourists coming to see the park. With the wolves becoming more of a tourist
attraction, more businesses are getting more customers and hotels are getting more
visitors causing more money and more advertisments about the wolves for more
publicity. This affects our local economies by providing more jobs that provide
services and conveniences for those tourists that are coming to the greater
Yellowstone National Park ecosystem.
People are becoming more interested with nature. You may have seen in the news a
few weeks back about the man who tried to get a selfie with an elk. The elk had
then felt endangered and charged at the man. If more and more people become
more interested with the wolves it can cause more people to be in danger and
perhaps end up in the emergency room do to getting to close to wild
