The Information Security Team Commits Confidentiality,...
The Information Security team commits to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of assets.
Even more, security policies clarify how the company intends to protect company assets against
similar breaches in the future. For example, the Monitoring and Logging Policy define the
following procedures to review:
systems logs; access reports; administrator and operator logs; fault logs.
Monitoring and logging are important to any information security program. In general, monitoring
ensures users are doing legal activities on company systems. To begin with, a risk assessment
determines what computers and systems to log, and naturally, the information security team
monitors the high risk systems. Next, trained personnel configure systems to facilitate monitoring
and logging to track security incidents with approved system utilities or auditing tools, in other
words, scripts, log management software, and security incident event management (ISO, 2005).
Also, management will pre approve tools, and controls will safeguard operational systems during
the analysis process. Consequently, monitored systems and security events generates an audit log
entry, thereby producing a time stamped reference trail. In the end, the monitoring and logging
policy will aid in protecting electronic protected health information (EPHI) on information systems.
Monitoring and Logging Policy Justification
First of all, a monitoring and logging policy is a crucial component of any security program

The Compassion Of Jesus In The Gospel Of Matthew
In the gospel of Matthew, the disciple portrays Jesus as compassionate. This portrayal of Jesus
aids us in discovering who Jesus is, and in our application of this portrayal to our image of Christ.
We can see this portrayal by His words, acts, and miracle works.
The compassion of Jesus shows through his heart for healing. The first depiction of his compassion
is in the verse Matthew 4:23. As Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee preaching, He
also healed those suffering from disease and illness. Followers would bring people inflicted by
sickness and the scripture says that, he healed them all. Here Jesus has a portrayal as a healer,
taking compassion on those inflicted by sickness. Another example of Jesus s compassion shown
through his actions is in Matthew 8:1 4, as He heals the man with leprosy. In front of a large
crowd, a man ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This depiction comes to pass in the gospel of Mark, as he portrays Jesus as the Suffering Servant.
The entire idea of a Messiah, the Son of God, suffering, goes against the thought of a King being
the one served. Through the gospel of Mark, Jesus shows the fallacy in this frame of thinking. In
Mark 10:44 45, Jesus altered the mindset of a King ruling over his followers, but serving them.
He states that, even the Son of Man cam not to be served but to serve others and to his life as a
ransom for many. This is portraying the idea of the Suffering Servant. Jesus teaches his disciples
to take up this mindset in Mark 9:35, as he tells them, Whoever wants to be first must take last
place and be last the servant of everyone else. This is a true depiction of servant leadership. Jesus
describes to his disciples that true greatness is not from the receiving end of service but on the
giving end. In God s Kingdom being a servant of everyone else not the master is what is
considered true

Factors that May Lead to Work-life Conflict
In recent years, employees were faced with more challenges between work and family, due to a
series of changes of demographic characteristics and workforce construction (Beauregard Henry,
2009; Martins, Eddleston, Veiga, 2002; Premeaux, Adkins, Mossholder, 2007). For example,
Australia has around 21,507,717 population, 90% are employed (either full time or part time),
and about 45% of people work more than 40 hours a week (Australian Bureau of Statistics,
2011). Additionally, nearly half of the families are a couple with children, and around 70% of
the parent(s) are working (Australian Bureau of Statistics 2011). Therefore, this essay will focus
on managing the work life conflict, since it has negative effects on job satisfaction and
performances. There are two forms of work life conflict, work to family conflict (WFC) and
family to work conflict (FWC). It is defined as an interrole confliction, which is the participation
of one role leading to difficulties of another role, such as work and family role (Greenhaus
Beutell, 1985 as cited by Premeaux et al., 2007). The following essay will describe the problem in
more detail and then propose two types of recommendations (problem oriented and emotion
oriented) to cope with the conflict between work and family. Finally, the pros and cons of the
solutions will be addressed. To begin with, it is important that we need to understand the different
factors may lead to work life conflict. Firstly, individual differences need to

Prosthetics During The Civil War
Prosthetics has always been part of most of our history, and it has come a long way since then.
Forms of prosthetics date way back to the Civil War, and has made a lot of progress throughout
the years. During the Civil War, many soldiers would have to be amputated everyday to save
their lives. For example, in the text I Will Not Get Out of Heart Yet, it states that Soldiers shot in
the arm or leg on the battlefield were highly likely to develop potentially fatal infections, and the
only way to prevent a painful death was to cut off the damaged body part. Despite this fact,
prostheticswere extremely uncomfortable to wear and were considered crude contraptions and
were usually made of wood or steel that were awkward and painful to wear. Many soldiers did not
like having prosthetic limbs, as they were uncomfortable to wear and awkward to move around with.

Lexi had to go through nine surgeries and she had lost her leg. Lexi had to be fitted with her
own prosthetic leg, and she would face many struggles while doing simple activities, like
standing, walking, and running. According to the article, Lexi Youngberg: Invincible, it states
that The prosthetic leg is waterproof, so Lexi can hit the waves whenever she wants. (Neville, 8)
It also states that Lexi has several types of legs: one for swimming, showering, and
wakeboarding, and an activity leg for daily wear and playing soccer. (Neville, 8) This means that
prosthetics nowadays have the ability to be waterproof, so that owners can feel more normal, and
they can feel more connected with others. The second quote tells you that prosthetics nowadays
offers many varieties in limbs. One person can have multiple limbs for different tasks, like, Lexi
has two different legs for swimming and playing soccer. The foot has to be different because it can

Case Study Worldcom
WorldCom Case Study WorldCom Inc. began as a small Mississippi provider of long disntance
telephone service called LDDS. It wasn t till the late 1990s that it began to expand into MFS
comminications and acquired MCI acquistions. This late economic prosperity was characterized by
a perceived expansive growth that increased the expectations of a company‟s performance. The
telecommunication company became a victim of these expectations, which led to the new
evolution of a fraud designed to deceive the public while the econmy slowly tried to improve
itself. To prevent frauds in the future from growing and occurring as big as WorldCom did, we
must try to understand what led to the fraud. How did the fraud grow so fast, what were the
after effects, and how can we learn to derived to gain a better understanding of the reasons
behind a fraud. Company s Decisions and ethical considerations It is typically always expected
to see Executives own stakes in the company they work for, simply because it gives stakeholders
confidence in the company. However, there is not always public knowledge that the executives
do take large amounts of loans against their shares as collateral. There are no real restrictions or
regulations requiring the executives to disclose this information to the public (Abelson, 2008).
When share prices are rising these loan tend to be a rather smart idea. In some cases when share

The Importance Of Education For A Company s Chief...
Although schooling is extremely important it is not the only thing people need in order to
become a company s chief executive. There are many skills that are helpful to have in this
particular career. A person must be organized because of all the planning they will have to be
doing, have patience due to the stressful obstacles that will surely be in the way, which ties in
directly with problem solving. Also, they would be dealing with a lot of people so speaking skills
and communication is something that they can definitely not struggle with. The abilities a chief
executive must obtain are written expression, speech clarity and recognition, written composition
and deductive reasoning, and oral comprehension (O Net). All of which will help move a person
move ahead of competitive peers.
When the group discussed relocating to other states Florida and New York were our top choices.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics say that 13,970 people are currently are employed as chief executives
in Florida. For entry positions the average pay is $202,300 a year. This is very good pay however,
the growth level in the next five to ten years is barely 2.4% (Bureau of Labor Statistics). Which
is not very promising for a person with this career goal in mind. In New York, they currently
employ 17,060 people as this type of executive. The Bureau of Labor Statistics also says they
have a better growth rate at 3.8%, but still not very promising for those going into this career. The
pay in New York is

The Pursuit Of Happyness By Chris Gardner
The Pursuit of Happyness In society there are still differences in classes such as higher class,
middle class, and lower class. In sociology, we observed a film called The Pursuit Happyness, where
we witnessed the struggles a father went through to succeed. Chris Gardner, who was played by
Will Smith, is living in his apartment with his wife and his son. Due to their struggles, the mother
walks out on and leaves Chris struggling alone with his son. In the film Chris Gardner applies for
an unpaid internship for a competitive stockbroker company where out of twenty men, only one
gets the job. While he is on his internship, we see the hardships of getting kicked out of his
apartment to staying at a shelter home to then sleeping in a subway bathroom with his son.
Viewing the movie through a sociological lens, The Pursuit of Happyness will be analyzed
according to the major three sociological paradigms: structural functionalism, social conflict theory,
and symbolic interactionalism. As the movie begins, a structural functionalist would identify the
social institutions involved. One of the first institutions introduced is family. The spouse of Chris
Gardner is not satisfied with the amount of income coming he is earning. It is clear that the
institution of family is not meeting the needs of happiness and financial stability because of the low
income. The institution of family interrelates with many others, such as the education institution
and especially economic institution.

Galactic Inheritors
Prepare For Corporate Wars
Galactic Inheritors is a 4X Space Strategy game that is more about the space and less about
exploration. The player will find a deep and rich story within this game. However, is it the story or
the gameplay that dictates what makes a 4X Strategy game successful?
Choose your race wisely.Choose your race wisely.
First and foremost, Galactic Inheritors should not be the first game anyone plays within the 4X
Strategy genre the player will become easily frustrated. When the game is started, it throws you into
the game without any helpful advice, details, or hints. However, it is unhelpful and counter
productive. Also I managed to make the game stop responding while trying to use the tutorials,

If a player is looking for a place to start within the genre, then I d recommend StarDrive, the
tutorials in that game take you step by step and covers everything that will appear within the 4X
Strategy genre.
As far as story lines go within this genre, Galactic Inheritors shines and sets itself apart from other
titles when it comes to story. If a player is seeking for depth with a story, then Galactic Inheritors is
designed with that in mind. It s a lore filled universe that is telling a story and that will warrant
multiple playthroughs if someone wants to experience everything that the story has to offer.
If story isn t your main concern and are more interested in the UI, gameplay, features, and ships,
then Galactic Civilizations III is probably more what you are looking for. Even though Galactic
Inheritors is a turn based game, I quickly discovered that if you Alt Tab between turns to do some
work or take care of something online, that when you come back to the game, it will no longer be
responding and you ll actually have to crash it to desktop. Turn based games are made to enable
the user the ability to walk away from them. That is not the case for this

Robert Frost Fact Sheet
Frost ran through the forest at full speed. All he could see were blurs of green and brown trees.
He knew his only chance at survival was to outrun the pack, but that was not an easy task. As
Frost ran he recalled how he ended up here, he had been invited to a pack hunt. This was both very
unusual and an honor, the reason being that Frost is an omega in his pack. The packhad successfully
hunted down three large bucks. As an omega Frost was given a low ranking job, his job along
with the other omega s was to take the food home. After that they would have a feast, Frost being
ranked omega would eat last along with the other omegas. That is where Frost made his mistake,
Frost had dishonored the Alpha therefore the whole pack. Now the huntingparty that had been

rushing river pounded in front of him. Frost backed up then sprang into the air, then over the river.
He hoped that Rain would be able to jump the wide river. Frost brought up another burst of speed

Representations Of Discovery In Robert Frost s Tuft Of...
It takes a monumental experience to recognise discovery and to that extent the composer s
manipulate their ideas on discovery and represent them in a way that is memorable. Robert Frost s
Tuft of flowers , Mending wall and Jean Marc VallГ©e s Wild have intertwining ideas of Nature
and Relationships that leads to emotional and intellectual discoveries. In this speech I will present
to you my understanding of how Representations of discovery are made memorable through the
composer s ways of communicating .
In Robert Frost s Tuft of flowers , the connection of man and nature leads the composer to make an
emotional discovery. Frosts unorthodox rhyming style of having 5 iambs in each line makes the
poem unique and its quest to realising discovery unique. With that in mind by choosing an unusual
form, Frost makes the idea apparent to me in a way that is memorable. Also Frost contrasts the
flower with the cut grass shows that he has encased a connection between them and himself as he
recognises the beauty of the flower in ...and led my eye to look/At a tall tuft of flowers beside a
brook this new understanding lead him on the path of finding the emotional discovery. Through this
poem, Frost showed me that discoveries can lead to refinding yourself and finding new perceptions
and by demonstrating this idea he has further my understanding of discovery through the notion of
making it memorable.
In the notion of discovery, a connection with nature leads to an unparalleled growth in one self as
shown by Jean Marc VallГ©e s Wild . Like Frost s Tuft of flowers , Wild shows the connection to
nature is essential to the path of discovery. VallГ©e uses naturalistic lightning on the face of his
character to shows the emotions, and expressions the character has on the various of landscape
from the desert to the snow. The uses of the lighting highlights the changes of the characters emotion
throughout her journey across the land and thus illustrates her new found discovery of her
emotions. In some sense, both Tuft of flowers and Wild , makes their ideas memorable by using
different techniques to elevate their characters, by doing so the concept of discovery becomes more
apparent to me.

Essay On Yellowtone Volcano
Yellowstone Park sits over a large volcano. The Yellowstone volcano is considered to be a super
volcano due to the violence and volume of ash that was produced in one eruption. Super volcano
eruptions can drastically impact the entire planet by causing potentially catastrophic climate
change. There have been no super volcanoeruptions in human history. However, there have been
many super volcano eruptions at Yellowstone over the past 18 million years. The super volcano
eruptions have created what is known as the Yellowstone caldera. The last super volcano
eruption was 640,000 years ago. This eruption caused a pillar of ash to rocket into the air as high as
100,00 feet. From that height, a layer of ash covered the land as far away as the Gulf of Mexico.
There were actually two events more... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this eruption, hot vapors escaped at temperatures around 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit. Ash
was blown out and covered tens of thousands of miles in volcanic dust. When the initial magma
chamber was finally emptied much of the roof to the chamber caved in causing a caldera that
measures 45 miles long by 28 miles wide. Then the magma resurged form two domes. There are
some lava flows that are just 70,000 years old, which is not very old in geologic time. This leads to
questions as to whether the Yellowstone volcano is still active. Seismic studies show that shock
waves from explosions and earthquakes travel through the Earth s crust but is slowed when it
passes under a caldera. There are areas under the caldera where the seismic velocity is slower
than normal. There are spots where the slowdown occurs within depths as shallow as 1 mile. This
may be because there is molten lava in the crust. There are other locations that indicate there is
even more magma beneath the surface as deep as 100 miles. Seismic activity also indicates that
there is magma beneath the crust in the mantle. Uplift is also occurring at about ВЅ and inch per

A Philosophical Enquiry Into The Origin Of Our Ideas Of...
In A Philosophical Enquiry into the Origin of Our Ideas of the Sublime and Beautiful Edmund
Burke writes, It is the nature of grief to keep its object perpetually in its eye, to present it in its most
pleasurable views, to repeat all the circumstances that attend to it . Burke s writing attempts to
clarify the pictorial, literary, cultural, economic and psychological phenomenon of sublimity,
explicating the ways in which power, vastness, obscurity and beauty intersect to form emotional
response. A Philosophical Enquiry elucidates why so many Romantic poets and writers would
make grief, mourning and death the subjects of their works; the limitless, obscure, infinite theme
death corresponds to the existential, contemplative and introspective ideas Romantic writers were
attempting to interrogate. But the subject of death in Romantic literature transcends the topic of
corporeal death and explores the death of memory, of youth, of innocence and of the past.
Furthermore, the Romantic writers were grappling with a shifting, changing society that caused a
sense of pervasive loss in their works; as artists, authors and the population attempted to navigate a
society characterized by political revolution and technological innovation, poems about mourning
act as almost consolatory works. Amongst this writing which attempts to navigate the subject of
grief, nature is a recurring element. By examining the locations or settings authors used as a
backdrop for their reflections on death

Why Does Evolution Happen
The theory of evolution is a change over time to help the species survive due to natural selection.
(survival of the fit) I believe that evolution and change over time does happen, but it happened
after a creation. I will use the evidence to describe why evolution happens and how it happens.
Adaptation is the act of changing the way you look or the way you act in order to survive and
reproduce. Physical change is a type of adaptation. An example of a physical adaptation is the size
of the finches beaks, or the whale s nostrils turning into a blow hole. Next, behavioral change is the
other type of adaptation. Whales used to be land animals, but eventually changed their behavior and
became water animals so they could find food. Evolution... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The whales couldn t find any food on land so they adapted their behavior and eventually the way
they look to survive in water. Each couple million years the fossils change. Whales started off
looking sort of like a wolf. Then, after a while their back bone started to change. At one point
whales almost looked like a seal. () Whales over time lost most of their fur, changed from paws
to webbed feet to fins, and their nostrils changed into a blow hole. Whales probably adapted
early on because some of them were dying off of they needed food so they went in the water to
hunt some fish. They were most likely successful at this so they continued to do this, and evolved
to make it easier. Whale evolution supports the theory of evolution because you can see the fossils,
and how they changed. Also, you see the fossil record and timeline of the organisms. Because of
this you see what they looked like, where they lived, and how the adapted. Scientists can make a
fossil record of whales because of the rock layers and fossil record. The law of superposition says
that any undisturbed sequence of rocks deposited in layers, which means scientists can look at
those layers to create a fossil record. You can use absolute and relative dating to find the age of any
fossil. Scientists used half life of some type of chemical to find the absolute age of a whale fossil.
Also, they looked at fossils and whale relatives to find relative age, like some

Why Do People Use Natural Gas
Natural gas is one of the most beneficial resource our environment has to offer to us and people
need to use this resource because it is so cheap. Companies include the Prius with Toyota, the Leaf
with Nissan or another innovation in electric or hybrid motoring who are using electricity in their
cars because they are trying to get in to the environmental friendly automotive market. Honda came
out with a better idea when they made the Honda Civic Natural Gas car. The reasons being, this car
is different than those of the electric cars is that it uses natural gas to run the car and the positive
effect it has on the environment is the fact that when using the resource it gives off partial zero
emissions into the environment. Honda Civic has really changed the automobileindustry because

How Did Italian Immigrants In The Late 1800s
In the late 18th century, European migrants such as Germans, Polish, and Italians came to
America to start a better life, little did they know that coming to a new country such as America
wouldn t be the easiest. Many Germans, Polish, and Italian immigrants began searching for a
new life in America in the late 1800 s. As easy as they thought is was going to be, many
immigrants had a tenacious time being part of America. They needed to leave the country that
they knew and their loved ones, hoping their lives would improve after arriving in the United
States. German immigrants moved to America because of poverty, conversely being so indigent
that they couldn t provide for themselves. They also came to America to provide for their
families whom they brought along. Polish immigrants came to earn more money then the
earned in Poland. Italian immigrants came to America to escape the wars that were happening
as well as pursuing a better economic opportunity. Immigration to America was a time where
European immigrants wanted to start a new life with their families. By the late 1800 s, many
German Immigrants wanted to start a fresh new life in America. Many came to America because
of poverty and overpopulation. They wanted to come to the land of freedom and opportunity.
German immigrants discovered America through other immigrants that came to America
earlier. Farmers found out through newspapers or handbooks. Many German peasants possessed
some land, which they sold to start their journey of coming into America. Had possessions or
even some land which they could sell to purchase their passage and to finance the start of their
new life in America. There was plenty of fertile land, and it was cheap (Cook 33). This clearly
shows us the Germans wanted a better life where they did not have to work as much in America.
Many skilled craftsman also made their way in America because of the demand of skilled labor.
After finding out about the goodness of America, many Germans came by steamships. These
steamships or Dutch Ships were better at speed and were cheap for immigrants, whereas sailing
vessels took almost 6 weeks to travel. Many German immigrants couldn t afford 1st or 2nd class
tickets so they would come to America

It shows that Paris was a very busy city in the 1890s. As the painting was created from him looking
outside his window in his hotel, his attitude toward his painting is to capture and paint the details of
the boulevard that he see outside his window. This mood and narrative tone in the painting is both
somber and peaceful. This is because it represents a peaceful street in the winter, but also is painted
in colors that feel somber to me. The Boulevard Montmartre on the Morning Winter is a streetscape

The Pharmaceutical Industry
Along with saving lives and helping people live an ordinary life in comfort, the pharmaceutical
industry makes billions of dollars every year; money that is invested in research/development as
well as lining the pockets of shareholders. However, in the past two years the system has been
abused by those hoping to make a hefty profit from buying or acquiring a drug and then raising
the price ten or twenty fold, often with the simple reason of greed or matching what other
companies do (Johnson). Occasionally, such as in 2015, the United States Senate will scrutinize
these CEOs, but with no real consequences added on other than bad publicity (Sternberg). What
the federal government can do is to prevent this price gouging via legislature that does not
directly control the price of a drug, as in the past those types of economies fare poorly. The poster
child for this issue, according to the L.A. Times, is Martin Shkreli, who in 2015 bought the
parasitic disease treatment drug Daraprim and then proceeded to raise ...up its price 5000%, from
$13.50 a pill to $750, after buying the one company that makes the drug (Hiltzik). Actions such as
these have been occurring for decades, but only with the recent incident of Turing Pharmaceuticals
has drawn light to the problem of drug pricing. Because of this, the Senate formed a special
committee to investigate four companies: Turing Pharmaceuticals (owned by Shkreli), Valeant
Pharmaceuticals, Retrophin, Inc., and Rodelis Therapeutics

ABSTRACT
A resilience framework for understanding cognitive aging implies a search for factors that buffer
against existing risk, enabling one to thrive in what might otherwise be adverse circumstances. The

Agency in sustaining an engaged lifestyle does not just derive from naive optimism (e.g., the little
engine that could ), but rather from a whole constellation of resources crafted over the life span that
puts force behind ones sense of agency (e.g., Infurna, Gerstorf, Ram, Schupp, amp; Wagner, 2011).
Cognitive capacity does not come for free. By some estimates, proficiency in a substantive skill
requires about 10,000 hours of deliberate practice (Ericsson, Krampe, Tesch Römer, 1993;
Gladwell, 2008). The normalization of optimal life span cognitive development, then, will
ultimately derive from cultural and social institutions (e.g., health care, educational resources) that
position individuals for effective engagement in experiences and activities that nurture cognition on
a large scale over extended time. In the pages that follow, we consider the factors that have
potential to contribute to cognitive resilience through the life span. The 10,000 hour rule implies
that not all skills will be developed to an equal extent and that cognitive resilience must entail
selectivity in what is optimized, as well as compensatory strategies for managing activities that
depend on nonoptimized skills. Because plasticity decreases with age, the 10,000 hour rule might
be expected to become something like a 15,000 hour rule for new skills developed in late life.
However, the 10,000 hour rule also implies that by mid to later adulthood, investment in skill

Gregory And Papacy Essay
When one thinks about the Pope today, there is an image of an elderly man in robes who kisses
babies, makes broad statements about the policies or beliefs of the church, and travels around the
world meeting with the leaders of the world and the church. If one confers with Merriam Webster,
the word popeis defined as the head of the Roman Catholic Church, a definition that falls in line
with the thoughts of many, perhaps even most, people today. For those who are familiar with the
history of western civilization, the papacy is a newer development. The papacy and the Christian
church are tightly aligned with the Roman Empire, but the Empire underwent a variety of changes
and no longer exists, and yet, the Roman Catholic Church and its head are still intact. If the papacy
and the church are newer developments in the grand scheme of western... Show more content on

It was Pope Gregory I, who never sought the papacy, that brought reform and scholarship to the
position. , Gregory held the papacy from 590 until 604. Born into an aristocratic family, Gregory
was well educated. He gave up the life of relative prominence and pursued monasticism. During
his time as monk, Pope Pelagius II appointed him ambassador to the court at Constantinople.
Pelagius later required the help of Gregory and his monks, during a time of rampant flooding and
disease, for various projects throughout Rome, including sanitation, burial and feeding of the
poor. , When Pelagius died, the clergy and people unanimously elected Gregory to the empty see.
While unwanted, Gregory continued the city reformation projects that he began under Pelagius
with an admirable zeal. Pope Gregory the Great, only the second to receive the honorific the
Great , not only helped rebuild the city, but he was also able to negotiate peace with Lombards
and was a prolific writer. He was heavily influenced by St.

The Epidemic Of The Ebola Outbreak Of West Africa
Crisis is a word used to describe a situation that has reached a critical phase. In order to minimize
the effects after an incident occurs, a crisis manager sets out to indemnify the area. A crisis can be
globally felt and personally felt. One major global crisis in recent history was the Ebola virus
outbreak, and one personal crisisI have experienced is a bipolar crisis. The Ebolaoutbreak in West
Africa first broke the news in March 2014. Considered an epidemic, this outbreak killed five
times more than any other Ebola outbreak combined. The virus is traced back to a two year old
toddler who died in a south eastern Guinea small village in December 2013. It took nearly three
months for the healthofficials to identify the cause of people s illness was Ebola. At that point, the
virus had already spread and was set to explode around the world. West Africa was not prepared
for this type of epidemic, the clinics had never managed this type of case, there was no laboratory to
diagnose the patients, and the government had never witnessed that type of upheaval. The people
initially denied the crisis because they didn t understand why, how, or what had hit them.
The past outbreaks were in rural areas with few cases in highly populated areas, and the major fix
was the isolate the infected. Since the virus was so widely spread the control could no longer be
isolation, supportive care was the new aim. Basic public health, however, was not easily found in

Essay On Perinatal Care
Status of perinatal care at international and national level
At least half of all stillbirths occurred in the intrapartum period. Among the 133 million babies
born alive each year, 2.8 million die in the first week of life. The patterns of these deaths are similar
to the patterns for maternal deaths; the majority occurring in developing countries. Quality skilled
care during pregnancy and childbirth are key for the health of the baby and the mother. In the
regions with the highest neonatal mortality rates, access to postnatal care is abysmally low. In the
majority of countries with data in sub Saharan African and South Asia, fewer than half of mothers
and babies receive a postnatal health check.

However, the global advance in child survival continues to elude many of the world s youngest
and most vulnerable children. Of the 6.3 million children who died before age 5 in 2013, 16 per
cent took their first and final breaths on the day they were born. Altogether, 44 per cent died
during the first 28 days of life. In 2013 the world suffered the loss of 2.8 million newborn babies.
These staggering statistics are all the more tragic given that low cost, evidence based solutions
are increasingly available, even in some of the most remote places. In 2013, almost 1 million
newborns died on the day they were born, accounting for 16 per cent of all under five deaths and
more than a third of all neonatal deaths.4 A total of 2 million newborns died within the first seven
days after birth, representing 73 per cent of all neonatal deaths (figure 16). Between 1990 and
2013, 86 million newborn babies born worldwide died within their first 28 days of life.
Reasons of perinatal Deaths
Perinatal mortality refers to the no of deaths in the first week of life and no of fetal deaths
(stillbirths). Causes and determinants of neonatal deaths and stillbirths differ from those causing
and contributing to early neonatal and child deaths. Neonatal deaths and stillbirths emanate from
poor maternal health, ineffective care during pregnancy, improper management of complications
during pregnancy and delivery, poor hygienic conditions and the

Harriet Tubman s Journeys In The Film The Power Of Good
According to the Cambridge English Dictionary, a rescuer is a person that saves someone or
something from a dangerous, harmful, or difficult situation. In the documentary, The Power of
Good, Nicholas Winton, a British humanitarian, organized the transport and rescue of Jewish
children from Czechoslovakia right before World War II. This operation was later known as the
Czech Kindertransport. Another historical figure who saved people from harm was Harriet
Tubman, an African American abolitionist who led enslaved people to freedom along the
Underground Railroad, a vast network of meeting places, secret routes, passageways and safe
houses used by slaves in the U.S. to escape bondage. Although Harriet Tubman and Nicholas
Winton are both historical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rather than staying in the safety of the North, Tubman made it her mission to rescue other slaves
from bondage. However, in 1850, the Fugitive Slave Law was passed that stated that escaped
slaves could be captured in the North and be returned to slavery. This made Tubman re routed the
Underground Railroad to Canada, which prohibited slavery. These journeys were usually during
the winter months to minimize the likelihood of being seen. Tubman also carried a rifle for
protection and to ensure that her escapees would not lose their nerve. From 1850 to 1860, Tubman
rescued an estimated 70 slaves in thirteen expeditions and gave an additional 50 to 60 fugitives
successful instructions on how to escape, earning her the nickname the Moses of the Underground
Railroad. Nicholas Winton s rescue missions were very different than those of Harriet Tubman. In
December 1938, Winton visited a friend who was working with primarily Jewish, Czechoslovakian
refugees in Sudetenland, the western area of Czechoslovakia under German control, when he heard
that there were no organizations to deal with refugee children. He began writing letters asking
governments to help these children, but only Britain and Sweden agreed to support him. Winton,
along with some volunteers, forged travel documents, arranged foster parents for the children, and
paid out of pocket for the transportation. The children boarded trains from Prague, Czechoslovakia
across Germany to the Atlantic Coast. Then, they were transported across the English Channel to
Britain where foster parents waited to pick up the children. After the children arrived in Britain,
Winton had no contact with them. His rescue efforts ended on September 1, 1939, after Germany
invaded Poland and closed off all borders under German control, starting World War II. In total,
Winton managed to orchestrate eight transports and saved

Goethe Motherhood
In the concluding lines of Faust, Goethe introduces his notion of the eternal feminine, or vision of
ideal womanhood that would pervade The Sorrows of Young Werther and later European
Romanticists. For Goethe, the eternal feminine is not only a goal for women to strive for, but an
ideal that will provoke society s moral regeneration. Goethe s vision of the eternal feminine
intersects with his Romantic appreciation for nature, children, and sensibility, which radically
diverge from the rationalist ideals of Voltaire s High Enlightenment. In his attempts to personify the
eternal feminine in characters such as Charlotte and Gretchen, the eternal feminine inevitably
becomes a symptom of his unique fascination with children. While the correlation between
womanhood and motherhood arguably stretches back to Christian iconography of the Virgin Mary,

The eternal feminine was thus a lie, one that bolstered the traditional discourse on gender that
viewed women as mothers rather than freethinking individuals. Jean Jacques Rousseau, who
bridged the strict rationalism of the High Enlightenment with the sensibility of Romanticism,
articulated this shifting attitude towards women and children in the late 18th century. Rousseau s
attitudes towards children and philosophy of education were particularly revolutionary, as his belief
in the goodness of human nature challenged Voltaire s pessimistic conviction that children were
inherently wicked (Bloch 7). In his philosophical novel Emile

The Conflict Of The Congo
In the year 1876, King Leopold II of Belgium began to display an interest in the civilization
mission in Africa. The documents on European Imperialism provide evidence for how the
individuals in the Congo are being exploited for European benefit, under the profit making aim
of King Leopold II. European brutality in the Congo was the logical result of the European
desire to implement proper civilization in the Congo, albeit through a lack of cultural
understanding and compassion towards the people of Congo. First, the document Selections
from the 1885 Berlin Act (Treaty) was an outline to the European people that King Leopold II
had good intentions for his mission in the Congo. However, it depicted the contradiction of what
his true intentions were and what had actually occurred. King Leopold outlined six Declarations
for what he desired to change for the Congo. Leopold stated, for instance, his desire to create a
change in the freedom of trade for the people of the Congo, as well the creation of a Declaration
relative to the slave trade, and the operations by sea or land which furnish slaves to that trade.
These Declarations relate to the thesis of how the Europeans were directed in a way to think it
was logical to create a change in the significant issues in the Congo. The Europeans were lead to
believe these six Declarations would benefit the civilization of the Congo, by doing no harm. In
actual fact. Leopold fails to point out how he intends to follow

Examples Of Fair Labelling
The principle of fair labelling is at the heart of the English justice system, and rightly so. Labels
can have an enormous impact on someone s future, publicly and privately. Especially within the
law of homicide, applying the correct label seems vital as the label murderer sends out a very
concerning message to the members of society and will have severe implications on an individual
s future opportunities such as jobs or relationships. This essay will show that the law of homicide
does not seem to always apply the correct labels with the examples of battered woman syndrome,

While it obviously is in the interest of everyone that medical staff take their job very seriously, it
seems critical to prosecute medical staff for mistakes that lead to the death of patients. Certainly,
doctors and medicals do not want their patients to be hurt by their negligence, yet, the medical
profession is under immense pressure and needs certainty that their mistakes will not lead to
criminalisation. Although gross negligence falls within manslaughter rather than murder, a
medical s career is ruined if convicted of manslaughter. The test for gross negligence was set out
in R v Adamako where the defendant owes a duty of care towards the victim but has breached this
duty and therefore caused the death of the victim in such a grossly negligent manner that it
amounts to criminal behaviour. The question what exactly is so grossly negligent that it amounts
to criminal behaviour is hard to define and is decided by the jury. The medical profession is
absolutely vital for the survival of our society and criminalising human mistakes can have serious
effects. Medicals study and train for years and a single mistake should generally not lead to

Argumentative Essay On Hook Up Culture
There is a lot of faux concern among conservatives about how much more promiscuous
millennials are, as opposed to previous generations and how that sexual freedom is hindering
overall growth and emotional stability. Indeed, a recent study at James Madison University
hooking up or dating: who benefits? conducted by Carolyn Bradshaw and her colleagues, sparked
an outcry for how millennials no longer care for dating, and inspired numerous articles about the
death of chivalry and romance. These concerns, however, are exaggerated. Sex is sex, and as it
turns out, there are more benefits to the no strings attached culture of hookups than critics suggest.
In her most recent article in The Atlantic, Boys on the Side , Hanna Rosin wrote an insightful piece

countries to compete with them, they had to update their armies as well. With all the military
improvements, Germany was extremely anxious to make a use of their ... Show more content on

Although the United States embarked on a famine relief program in the Soviet Union in the early
1920s and American businessmen established commercial ties there during the period of the New
Economic Policy, the two countries did not start diplomatic relations until 1933. By that time, the
oppressive nature of Joseph Stalin s command presented an impossible obstacle to friendly relations
with the West. Although World War II brought the two countries into alliance, based on the
common aim of defeating Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union s aggressive, antidemocratic policy
toward Eastern Europe had created tensions even before the war ended.
Fear of communism significantly affected American domestic policy with regard to both
immigration policy and workers rights. In the 1920s, the United States experienced its first Red
Scare soon after Russia s Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 brought communism to the forefront of
people s minds. In the 1950s, the U.S. experienced a similar wave of anti communist fear during
the first phases of the Cold War. Overall, this anti communist fear led to both social and economic

Urbanization In Idaho
A little family of four from Idaho owns a potato farm. The nearest neighbor is half a mile away.
After struggling to maintain the land and profit from their crops, they decide to sell the farm and
move to Chicago. There they have jobs waiting and a nice house with a green lawn on a street
with twenty other houses. After a couple years, they have acquired two more cars and with a rise
in income are able to consume double the products they did in Idaho. This family is an example of
an issue that impacts the environment everyday: Urbanization. Merriam Webster defines
urbanization as the process by which towns and cities are formed and become larger as more and
more people begin living and working in central areas. Due to a rapidly growing population, the
world is becoming more urbanized, leading to harmful effects on the environment such as pollution,
changes in climate, and the destruction of biodiversity.
According to the Population Clock of the United States Census Bureau, the world population is
approximately 7,237,500,000. Of that, 321,000,000 reside in the United States, making it ... Show

almost completely covered, and presumably suffocates to death. When Detective Mills arrives at

  • 2. The Information Security Team Commits Confidentiality,... The Information Security team commits to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of assets. Even more, security policies clarify how the company intends to protect company assets against similar breaches in the future. For example, the Monitoring and Logging Policy define the following procedures to review: systems logs; access reports; administrator and operator logs; fault logs. Monitoring and logging are important to any information security program. In general, monitoring ensures users are doing legal activities on company systems. To begin with, a risk assessment determines what computers and systems to log, and naturally, the information security team monitors the high risk systems. Next, trained personnel configure systems to facilitate monitoring and logging to track security incidents with approved system utilities or auditing tools, in other words, scripts, log management software, and security incident event management (ISO, 2005). Also, management will pre approve tools, and controls will safeguard operational systems during the analysis process. Consequently, monitored systems and security events generates an audit log entry, thereby producing a time stamped reference trail. In the end, the monitoring and logging policy will aid in protecting electronic protected health information (EPHI) on information systems. Monitoring and Logging Policy Justification First of all, a monitoring and logging policy is a crucial component of any security program ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Compassion Of Jesus In The Gospel Of Matthew In the gospel of Matthew, the disciple portrays Jesus as compassionate. This portrayal of Jesus aids us in discovering who Jesus is, and in our application of this portrayal to our image of Christ. We can see this portrayal by His words, acts, and miracle works. The compassion of Jesus shows through his heart for healing. The first depiction of his compassion is in the verse Matthew 4:23. As Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee preaching, He also healed those suffering from disease and illness. Followers would bring people inflicted by sickness and the scripture says that, he healed them all. Here Jesus has a portrayal as a healer, taking compassion on those inflicted by sickness. Another example of Jesus s compassion shown through his actions is in Matthew 8:1 4, as He heals the man with leprosy. In front of a large crowd, a man ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This depiction comes to pass in the gospel of Mark, as he portrays Jesus as the Suffering Servant. The entire idea of a Messiah, the Son of God, suffering, goes against the thought of a King being the one served. Through the gospel of Mark, Jesus shows the fallacy in this frame of thinking. In Mark 10:44 45, Jesus altered the mindset of a King ruling over his followers, but serving them. He states that, even the Son of Man cam not to be served but to serve others and to his life as a ransom for many. This is portraying the idea of the Suffering Servant. Jesus teaches his disciples to take up this mindset in Mark 9:35, as he tells them, Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be last the servant of everyone else. This is a true depiction of servant leadership. Jesus describes to his disciples that true greatness is not from the receiving end of service but on the giving end. In God s Kingdom being a servant of everyone else not the master is what is considered true ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Factors that May Lead to Work-life Conflict In recent years, employees were faced with more challenges between work and family, due to a series of changes of demographic characteristics and workforce construction (Beauregard Henry, 2009; Martins, Eddleston, Veiga, 2002; Premeaux, Adkins, Mossholder, 2007). For example, Australia has around 21,507,717 population, 90% are employed (either full time or part time), and about 45% of people work more than 40 hours a week (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2011). Additionally, nearly half of the families are a couple with children, and around 70% of the parent(s) are working (Australian Bureau of Statistics 2011). Therefore, this essay will focus on managing the work life conflict, since it has negative effects on job satisfaction and performances. There are two forms of work life conflict, work to family conflict (WFC) and family to work conflict (FWC). It is defined as an interrole confliction, which is the participation of one role leading to difficulties of another role, such as work and family role (Greenhaus Beutell, 1985 as cited by Premeaux et al., 2007). The following essay will describe the problem in more detail and then propose two types of recommendations (problem oriented and emotion oriented) to cope with the conflict between work and family. Finally, the pros and cons of the solutions will be addressed. To begin with, it is important that we need to understand the different factors may lead to work life conflict. Firstly, individual differences need to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Prosthetics During The Civil War Prosthetics has always been part of most of our history, and it has come a long way since then. Forms of prosthetics date way back to the Civil War, and has made a lot of progress throughout the years. During the Civil War, many soldiers would have to be amputated everyday to save their lives. For example, in the text I Will Not Get Out of Heart Yet, it states that Soldiers shot in the arm or leg on the battlefield were highly likely to develop potentially fatal infections, and the only way to prevent a painful death was to cut off the damaged body part. Despite this fact, prostheticswere extremely uncomfortable to wear and were considered crude contraptions and were usually made of wood or steel that were awkward and painful to wear. Many soldiers did not like having prosthetic limbs, as they were uncomfortable to wear and awkward to move around with. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It wasn t till the late 1990s that it began to expand into MFS comminications and acquired MCI acquistions. This late economic prosperity was characterized by a perceived expansive growth that increased the expectations of a company‟s performance. The telecommunication company became a victim of these expectations, which led to the new evolution of a fraud designed to deceive the public while the econmy slowly tried to improve itself. To prevent frauds in the future from growing and occurring as big as WorldCom did, we must try to understand what led to the fraud. How did the fraud grow so fast, what were the after effects, and how can we learn to derived to gain a better understanding of the reasons behind a fraud. • 8. The Pursuit Of Happyness By Chris Gardner The Pursuit of Happyness In society there are still differences in classes such as higher class, middle class, and lower class. In sociology, we observed a film called The Pursuit Happyness, where we witnessed the struggles a father went through to succeed. Chris Gardner, who was played by Will Smith, is living in his apartment with his wife and his son. Due to their struggles, the mother walks out on and leaves Chris struggling alone with his son. In the film Chris Gardner applies for an unpaid internship for a competitive stockbroker company where out of twenty men, only one gets the job. While he is on his internship, we see the hardships of getting kicked out of his apartment to staying at a shelter home to then sleeping in a subway bathroom with his son. Viewing the movie through a sociological lens, The Pursuit of Happyness will be analyzed according to the major three sociological paradigms: structural functionalism, social conflict theory, and symbolic interactionalism. As the movie begins, a structural functionalist would identify the social institutions involved. One of the first institutions introduced is family. The spouse of Chris Gardner is not satisfied with the amount of income coming he is earning. It is clear that the institution of family is not meeting the needs of happiness and financial stability because of the low income. The institution of family interrelates with many others, such as the education institution and especially economic institution. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Frosts unorthodox rhyming style of having 5 iambs in each line makes the poem unique and its quest to realising discovery unique. With that in mind by choosing an unusual form, Frost makes the idea apparent to me in a way that is memorable. Also Frost contrasts the flower with the cut grass shows that he has encased a connection between them and himself as he recognises the beauty of the flower in ...and led my eye to look/At a tall tuft of flowers beside a brook this new understanding lead him on the path of finding the emotional discovery. Through this poem, Frost showed me that discoveries can lead to refinding yourself and finding new perceptions and by demonstrating this idea he has further my understanding of discovery through the notion of making it memorable. In the notion of discovery, a connection with nature leads to an unparalleled growth in one self as shown by Jean Marc VallГ©e s Wild . Like Frost s Tuft of flowers , Wild shows the connection to nature is essential to the path of discovery. VallГ©e uses naturalistic lightning on the face of his character to shows the emotions, and expressions the character has on the various of landscape from the desert to the snow. The uses of the lighting highlights the changes of the characters emotion throughout her journey across the land and thus illustrates her new found discovery of her emotions. In some sense, both Tuft of flowers and Wild , makes their ideas memorable by using different techniques to elevate their characters, by doing so the concept of discovery becomes more apparent to me. • 13. Essay On Yellowtone Volcano Yellowstone Park sits over a large volcano. The Yellowstone volcano is considered to be a super volcano due to the violence and volume of ash that was produced in one eruption. Super volcano eruptions can drastically impact the entire planet by causing potentially catastrophic climate change. There have been no super volcanoeruptions in human history. However, there have been many super volcano eruptions at Yellowstone over the past 18 million years. The super volcano eruptions have created what is known as the Yellowstone caldera. The last super volcano eruption was 640,000 years ago. This eruption caused a pillar of ash to rocket into the air as high as 100,00 feet. From that height, a layer of ash covered the land as far away as the Gulf of Mexico. There were actually two events more... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are some lava flows that are just 70,000 years old, which is not very old in geologic time. This leads to questions as to whether the Yellowstone volcano is still active. Seismic studies show that shock waves from explosions and earthquakes travel through the Earth s crust but is slowed when it passes under a caldera. There are areas under the caldera where the seismic velocity is slower than normal. There are spots where the slowdown occurs within depths as shallow as 1 mile. This may be because there is molten lava in the crust. There are other locations that indicate there is even more magma beneath the surface as deep as 100 miles. Seismic activity also indicates that there is magma beneath the crust in the mantle. Uplift is also occurring at about ВЅ and inch per year ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In A Philosophical Enquiry into the Origin of Our Ideas of the Sublime and Beautiful Edmund Burke writes, It is the nature of grief to keep its object perpetually in its eye, to present it in its most pleasurable views, to repeat all the circumstances that attend to it . Burke s writing attempts to clarify the pictorial, literary, cultural, economic and psychological phenomenon of sublimity, explicating the ways in which power, vastness, obscurity and beauty intersect to form emotional response. A Philosophical Enquiry elucidates why so many Romantic poets and writers would make grief, mourning and death the subjects of their works; the limitless, obscure, infinite theme death corresponds to the existential, contemplative and introspective ideas Romantic writers were attempting to interrogate. But the subject of death in Romantic literature transcends the topic of corporeal death and explores the death of memory, of youth, of innocence and of the past. Furthermore, the Romantic writers were grappling with a shifting, changing society that caused a sense of pervasive loss in their works; as artists, authors and the population attempted to navigate a society characterized by political revolution and technological innovation, poems about mourning act as almost consolatory works. Amongst this writing which attempts to navigate the subject of grief, nature is a recurring element. (survival of the fit) I believe that evolution and change over time does happen, but it happened after a creation. I will use the evidence to describe why evolution happens and how it happens. Adaptation is the act of changing the way you look or the way you act in order to survive and reproduce. Physical change is a type of adaptation. An example of a physical adaptation is the size of the finches beaks, or the whale s nostrils turning into a blow hole. Next, behavioral change is the other type of adaptation. Whales started off looking sort of like a wolf. Then, after a while their back bone started to change. At one point whales almost looked like a seal. () Whales over time lost most of their fur, changed from paws to webbed feet to fins, and their nostrils changed into a blow hole. Whales probably adapted early on because some of them were dying off of they needed food so they went in the water to hunt some fish. They were most likely successful at this so they continued to do this, and evolved to make it easier. Whale evolution supports the theory of evolution because you can see the fossils, and how they changed. Also, you see the fossil record and timeline of the organisms. Because of this you see what they looked like, where they lived, and how the adapted. Scientists can make a fossil record of whales because of the rock layers and fossil record. The law of superposition says that any undisturbed sequence of rocks deposited in layers, which means scientists can look at those layers to create a fossil record. The Pharmaceutical Industry Along with saving lives and helping people live an ordinary life in comfort, the pharmaceutical industry makes billions of dollars every year; money that is invested in research/development as well as lining the pockets of shareholders. However, in the past two years the system has been abused by those hoping to make a hefty profit from buying or acquiring a drug and then raising the price ten or twenty fold, often with the simple reason of greed or matching what other companies do (Johnson). Occasionally, such as in 2015, the United States Senate will scrutinize these CEOs, but with no real consequences added on other than bad publicity (Sternberg). What the federal government can do is to prevent this price gouging via legislature that does not directly control the price of a drug, as in the past those types of economies fare poorly. Agency in sustaining an engaged lifestyle does not just derive from naive optimism (e.g., the little engine that could ), but rather from a whole constellation of resources crafted over the life span that puts force behind ones sense of agency (e.g., Infurna, Gerstorf, Ram, Schupp, amp; Wagner, 2011). Cognitive capacity does not come for free. By some estimates, proficiency in a substantive skill requires about 10,000 hours of deliberate practice (Ericsson, Krampe, Tesch RГ¶mer, 1993; Gladwell, 2008). The normalization of optimal life span cognitive development, then, will ultimately derive from cultural and social institutions (e.g., health care, educational resources) that position individuals for effective engagement in experiences and activities that nurture cognition on a large scale over extended time. In the pages that follow, we consider the factors that have potential to contribute to cognitive resilience through the life span. The 10,000 hour rule implies that not all skills will be developed to an equal extent and that cognitive resilience must entail selectivity in what is optimized, as well as compensatory strategies for managing activities that depend on nonoptimized skills. Because plasticity decreases with age, the 10,000 hour rule might be expected to become something like a 15,000 hour rule for new skills developed in late life. This operation was later known as the Czech Kindertransport. From 1850 to 1860, Tubman rescued an estimated 70 slaves in thirteen expeditions and gave an additional 50 to 60 fugitives successful instructions on how to escape, earning her the nickname the Moses of the Underground Railroad. Nicholas Winton s rescue missions were very different than those of Harriet Tubman. Goethe s vision of the eternal feminine intersects with his Romantic appreciation for nature, children, and sensibility, which radically diverge from the rationalist ideals of Voltaire s High Enlightenment. Rousseau s attitudes towards children and philosophy of education were particularly revolutionary, as his belief in the goodness of human nature challenged Voltaire s pessimistic conviction that children were inherently wicked (Bloch 7). • 35. The Conflict Of The Congo In the year 1876, King Leopold II of Belgium began to display an interest in the civilization mission in Africa. The documents on European Imperialism provide evidence for how the individuals in the Congo are being exploited for European benefit, under the profit making aim of King Leopold II. European brutality in the Congo was the logical result of the European desire to implement proper civilization in the Congo, albeit through a lack of cultural understanding and compassion towards the people of Congo. First, the document Selections from the 1885 Berlin Act (Treaty) was an outline to the European people that King Leopold II had good intentions for his mission in the Congo. However, it depicted the contradiction of what his true intentions were and what had actually occurred. King Leopold outlined six Declarations for what he desired to change for the Congo. Leopold stated, for instance, his desire to create a change in the freedom of trade for the people of the Congo, as well the creation of a Declaration relative to the slave trade, and the operations by sea or land which furnish slaves to that trade. These Declarations relate to the thesis of how the Europeans were directed in a way to think it was logical to create a change in the significant issues in the Congo. The Europeans were lead to believe these six Declarations would benefit the civilization of the Congo, by doing no harm. In actual fact. Leopold fails to point out how he intends to follow ... • 36. Examples Of Fair Labelling The principle of fair labelling is at the heart of the English justice system, and rightly so. Labels can have an enormous impact on someone s future, publicly and privately. Especially within the law of homicide, applying the correct label seems vital as the label murderer sends out a very concerning message to the members of society and will have severe implications on an individual s future opportunities such as jobs or relationships. This essay will show that the law of homicide does not seem to always apply the correct labels with the examples of battered woman syndrome, assisted suicide or euthanasia, and medical negligence that leads to death. Firstly, homicide equals the killing of someone. It contains the two offences murderand... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While it obviously is in the interest of everyone that medical staff take their job very seriously, it seems critical to prosecute medical staff for mistakes that lead to the death of patients. Certainly, doctors and medicals do not want their patients to be hurt by their negligence, yet, the medical profession is under immense pressure and needs certainty that their mistakes will not lead to criminalisation. Although gross negligence falls within manslaughter rather than murder, a medical s career is ruined if convicted of manslaughter. The test for gross negligence was set out in R v Adamako where the defendant owes a duty of care towards the victim but has breached this duty and therefore caused the death of the victim in such a grossly negligent manner that it amounts to criminal behaviour. The question what exactly is so grossly negligent that it amounts to criminal behaviour is hard to define and is decided by the jury. The medical profession is absolutely vital for the survival of our society and criminalising human mistakes can have serious effects. Medicals study and train for years and a single mistake should generally not lead to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. Springfield Descriptive Paragraph As I stepped out of the car, the smell of the hot asphalt hit me. I heard the low rumble of voices and the high pitched screaming of babies. Mothers were hustling their children toward the stadium. Little boys with their favorite team plastered on their shirts ran past me, eager to enter the ballpark. Nearing the ticket booth, the smell of popcorn wafted through the gates. This was the ultimate way to spend a summer night, at a baseballgame. After paying our way to get in, my dad and I found our seats. It was my birthday and my father had a special treat in store. He had gotten us front row seats, a very rare occasion for me. Son! In slow motion, I saw the pitcher throw a fastball and a few seconds that seemed like minutes went by, and I heard a crack. The loudest, wood shattering crack of the game. I looked up and the ball was on it s way over the fence into the crowd towards me. I raised my glove up with a small hope of catching it. Come on son, you got this. This one s yours! yelled my dad. A second later I felt something smack my glove. I was in utter disbelief, and everyone cheered around me. This night had gotten so much better than it already was. The game was over, we had won. Fireworks erupted above the stadium and lit up the night sky like it was daytime. We did it son, we did it! We re going to the playoffs! yelled my dad excitedly. It was a surreal moment. • 41. Argumentative Essay On Hook Up Culture There is a lot of faux concern among conservatives about how much more promiscuous millennials are, as opposed to previous generations and how that sexual freedom is hindering overall growth and emotional stability. Indeed, a recent study at James Madison University hooking up or dating: who benefits? conducted by Carolyn Bradshaw and her colleagues, sparked an outcry for how millennials no longer care for dating, and inspired numerous articles about the death of chivalry and romance. These concerns, however, are exaggerated. Sex is sex, and as it turns out, there are more benefits to the no strings attached culture of hookups than critics suggest. In her most recent article in The Atlantic, Boys on the Side , Hanna Rosin wrote an insightful piece in which she argues the merits of hook up culture... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The I m a broke college student statement is one that many can identify with. While millennials are consistently labeled as commitment phobes, the truth is, this lifestyle is embraced mostly because it s the only one many can financially afford. When one takes into account the amount that goes towards buying an exclusive partner holiday gifts, anniversary celebrations, birthdays, for broke college students, the overall sum is preposterous. Add the opportunity cost of spending time with a partner instead of actually investing that time in one s job, internship, and academic success, and the numbers go up even more. This is why hook up culture is important. According to Andrew 21, a typical hookup involves a couple of cheap drinks and having a good time: there are no rights or wrongs, as long as no one catches feelings . Meha 22, added: hooking up gives women the opportunity to focus on their personal goals. Militarism, alliance systems and imperialist were some of the causes that set off the one of the greatest wars in the history of the world. Militarism played a vast role in WWI. Although the United States embarked on a famine relief program in the Soviet Union in the early 1920s and American businessmen established commercial ties there during the period of the New Economic Policy, the two countries did not start diplomatic relations until 1933. By that time, the oppressive nature of Joseph Stalin s command presented an impossible obstacle to friendly relations with the West. Although World War II brought the two countries into alliance, based on the common aim of defeating Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union s aggressive, antidemocratic policy toward Eastern Europe had created tensions even before the war ended. Fear of communism significantly affected American domestic policy with regard to both immigration policy and workers rights. In the 1920s, the United States experienced its first Red Scare soon after Russia s Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 brought communism to the forefront of people s minds. After struggling to maintain the land and profit from their crops, they decide to sell the farm and move to Chicago. There they have jobs waiting and a nice house with a green lawn on a street with twenty other houses. After a couple years, they have acquired two more cars and with a rise in income are able to consume double the products they did in Idaho. This family is an example of an issue that impacts the environment everyday: Urbanization. Merriam Webster defines urbanization as the process by which towns and cities are formed and become larger as more and more people begin living and working in central areas. Due to a rapidly growing population, the world is becoming more urbanized, leading to harmful effects on the environment such as pollution, changes in climate, and the destruction of biodiversity.
