Sociological Analysis Of Private Troubles In The Military
1. Sociological Concept: The book defines private troubles as, problems we face in our
immediate relationships with particular individuals in our personal lives (Witt, 2016, p. 3).
Example: The example I found for private troubles are flyers posted on every bulletin board in
every work center at Eielson Air Force Base. The flyers are made by the base chaplain and
mental health clinic. The flyers are there to provide the phone numbers of people to contact who
can help with private troubles. Sociological Analysis: The reason I picked these flyers to use for
private troubles is that mental health and resiliency are stressed so much not only in the Air
Force but in the military as a whole. Members of the military face private troubles on a daily
basis, mainly with their family life or their coworkers. As a member of the military, we cannot
do our job to the best of our ability if we are always thinking about the private troubles of a
marriage failing or not getting along with co works. So, to have support from the office of the
chaplain and the mental health clinic is crucial to the well being of the military. In some cases,
it is very obvious that a person is going through private troubles and others can do a very good
job of hiding it. To have resources so readily available and willing to help with our private
troubles is very important. 2. Sociological Concept: The book defines in group as, a category of
people who share a common identity and sense of belonging (Witt,

Evaluation Of The Interactive Visual Tools
1. Overview of the interactive visual tools
In this section, we provide an overview of the number of interactive visualization tools that support
EHR. The summary includes an overall goal of the system and a brief description of the
visualization. 1.1.Population Based Tools We now provide summaries of interactive visualization
tools that support multiple patient records at the same time. Although, they display fewer details
about the patient than single patient tools, but they provide the user with the ability to recognize
patterns, spot anomalies, find desired records, and aggregate records into different groups. 1.1.1.

It has three main views where the upper view displays the duration and size of the patient groups
that are chosen by physicians to administer interventions. A common timeline for each patient is
shown in the lower view for the chosen attributes. In addition, Indicators (algorithms that can be
applied to different attributes) are used to define and combine with the timeline to support various
activities that can be carried out by the tool.
1.1.3. CoCo CoCo is a visual analytics tool for comparing cohorts of event sequences that provides
the user an overview statistics of the chosen dataset along with the event level statistics and a list
of available metrics to generate new hypothesis and enable insights. CoCo consists of a file
manager pane, a dataset statistics pane, an event legend, a list of available metrics, the CoCo
visualization, and options for filtering and sorting the results. The summary statistics panel includes
high level statistics about both datasets, including the total number of records and events in each
record. Moreover, the users have access to the Event Type pane, which serves as the legend
(pairing each event type with a marker and color) and filter control.
1.1.4. Lifeflow Lifeflow is an interactive visualization tool that provides a visual summary of
exploration and analysis of event sequences. It gives the users the ability to answer questions that

Compost
Introduction Irisses work well in beds, borders and foundation plantings.
Comstock/Stockbyte/Getty Images
With its six petaled flowers that range in color from yellow, white and pink to blue, red and
purple, iris (Iris spp.) can be an attractive addition in the garden. Iris consists of more than 200
species, many of which are hardy to U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zone 3. Siberian
iris (Iris sibirica) and crested iris (Iris cristata), for instance, can thrive in USDA plant hardiness
zones 3 through 9. (See References 1) Although commonly grown true to type by division, irises
can also grow from seed, although they don t grow true to the parent plant. (See References 2)
Step 1
Harvest the seedpods from an iris plant after it s done blooming in the fall. If pollinated, find the
pods on the plant below faded flowers. Remove them from the plant when they are partially green
and start to split open. Shell the pods to reveal about 60 seeds per pod. (See References 3)
Step 2
Fill a small bowl with enough water to submerse the seeds. Place the seeds in the bowl and allow
them to soak. Every day, drain the liquid, pouring it in a strainer so you catch the seeds. Refill the
bowl with fresh water and place the seeds back in it. Do this for up to two weeks to eliminate the
germination inhibiting properties of the seeds. (See References 4)
Step 3
Mix 1 part bleach with 10 parts water in a bowl. Soak the seeds in this bleach solution

Examples Of Hegemonic Masculinity
Writing Assignment 5
In gender studies, hegemonic masculinity is the norms and values upheld as an ideal for all
males. The concept of hegemonic masculinity was proposed first from a field study in Australian
high schools of social inequality by Kessler. (Kessler et al. 1982) The concept was later made
popular by sociologist R.W. Connell. All men are upheld to the image of being the strongest and
most aggressive, and to hold the power over women and other men. What do males have that lead
them to commit more crime? That question has been noted for years, but no one can pinpoint the
exact answer. Some sociologist denote masculinity to the answer of the previous question. From a
young age, men are perfectly characterized as someone who ... Show more content on

In 2012, H M used soccer star David Beckham is perhaps one of the most vivid ads still today.
Beckham, a tattooed, athletic and muscular man, embodies hegemonic masculinity to a sporting
audience. Because Beckham is a globally recognized, the commercial does not need to add his
athletic ability, financial statues, and wife to gain audience viewers. By being married,
Beckham is observed to be a real man. Placing someone like Beckham in a Super Bowl
commercial, unlike an ordinary man, bring a whole new meaning to today s society. An eye
opening example of movies that display hegemonic masculinity are Disney movies. Considering
the male roles in The Lion King, Beauty in the Beast, and the Little Mermaid, the male roles have
always come to the rescue to save the princess. Disney s artist create these male roles to be larger
than the other characters and displaying more muscle. Most of these characters, and many I didn t

Miriam By Truman Capote Analysis
Truman Capote was an author who enjoyed adding strange or weird elements into ordinary
scenarios. In Miriam, a young girl came into Mrs. Miller s life without any indication or
explanation. This was the start of a new reality for her.
Truman Capote decided to write this story to relate to his own personal life and the struggles he
encountered along the way. While reading, one is able to recognize that the little girl Miriam
relates to Capote, in a sense that whenever the young girl arrives at Mrs. Miller s home a second
time and says The last place I lived was an old man; he was terribly poor and we never had good
things to eat. But I think I ll be happy here. . This is showing how during his own childhood, he

Miller, and began to become insane because of this. I was wrong, the story was about an old
woman by the name of Miriam. Her life was repetitive, going through the same routine day after
day, until one night she decided to go out to the theater. While there, she met a young girl, they
both shared the name Miriam, Mrs. Miller was taken by the girl s appearance. Later in the story
we see that this was not yet just an encounter, but something much more. While Mrs. Miller is at
home she is visited by the girl once again, this time the girl was demanding and demanded Mrs.
Miller give her the brooch her husband had given her before his passing. Finally this girl leaves
and days pass without seeing her so Mrs. Miller decides to go out, while out a man is following
her until she gets away. The man is later is foreshadowed as the man who sheltered Miriam the
young girl who Mrs. Miller is afraid of. After this incident passed, Mrs. Miller was antagonised by
Miriam and once she had gotten away she told the neighbors about the incident yet they could not
find the young girl. Once Mrs. Miller had entered again she was welcomed by a

Comparing Emerson And Thoreau
During the nineteenth century, the new philosophical trend of transcendentalism occurred. Ralph
Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, two contemporary authors, expressed
transcendentalist ideas through their writing. Their perspectives of nature and society were
both very similar. They believe people need to simplify their lives, and spend time in nature. To
them, nature is the key to peace and tranquillity that people knowingly and unknowingly seek.
Herman Melville, another contemporary author of that time, has a very different view of
nature. Through Moby Dick, he expresses his ideas that nature is essentially evil. He thinks that
it is dangerous, and in order to protect yourself you need to go on the offense against it. Thoreau
and Emerson urge people to live a peaceful, simplistic life and they think that spending time in
nature, which is essentially good, is the key to doing so, while Melville thinks that nature is a
destructive force that people should either avoid or fight. Emerson is one of the first people to
introduce the idea of nature being the key to peace. He insists that the natural world is beautiful,
and people should spend their time in it. In his essay Nature, Emerson says Nature never wears a
mean appearance/Nature never becomes a toy to a wise spirit (Emerson 1).... Show more content on

spirituality, such as in Walden when he says I got up early and bathed in the pond; that was a
religious exercise, and one of the best things which I did (Thoreau 6). This was a way for him to
become closer to the universe through nature. He thought that by doing this each morning he was

Assignment #3: iPremier
BADM 350 1. How well did the iPremier Company perform during the seventy five minute attack?
If you were Bob Turley, what might you have done differently during the attack?
Normally, a company would follow emergency procedures while dealing with crises, but in
iPremier s case, there was no emergency procedure available. Under these circumstances, and with
no prior experience with security breaches, I believe the company performed well. Bob Turley
communicated well with the other members of the company, but if I were in his shoes, I would
have been more conservative and acted faster.
In responding to the crisis, there were two main issues that iPremier faced understanding the attack,
and restoring order. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
iPremier s procedures were absolutely deficient. They had an outdated emergency manual that
employees couldn t find, and almost couldn t access the data center. Additional measures they
could have implemented long before the attack include revising the emergency procedure and
making sure all employees know how to follow it. 3. Now the attack has ended, what can the
iPremier Company do to prepare for another such attack?
While I mentioned revising the emergency procedure in the previous question, there are other ways
to prepare as well. iPremier could implement a method to escalate unsatisfactory service from Qdata
to higher level management; if they switch to a data center with open lines of communication, the
next crisis would be easier to handle, or it might even be completely averted. 4. In the aftermath of
the attack, what would you be worried about? What actions would you recommend?
I would be worried about three issues, including the identity and motivation of the hacker, the
amount of data that was taken from iPremier, and public disclosure. Since Bob didn t pull the
plug, there is a log documenting what happened during the attack I would start by analyzing the
log and trying to solve the first two issues. Public disclosure is a legal matter, yet it affect thee
public image of iPremier, so I would consult with both Warren and Stewart to see both PR and legal
s perspective on the attack, and formulate a public statement

However other motivators that are just important include, producing higher quality work,
eliminating the feelings of being rushed to complete an objective, and simply having more free
time with loved ones. My main goal of improving my time management skills requires me not only
to change the way I work on things, but changing my mentality on organization, multi tasking, and
procrastination. Achieving this goal will help me avoid falling behind in school and work,
decreasing the necessity of late night working sessions, inevitably reducing the intense feelings of
overwhelming stress.
The information I found through online sources include the eBook Superhuman Guide to Time
Management , by Ryan Cooper, and a few articles on time management, multi tasking, and
procrastination located on varies websites. I chose these websites based on their source of
information pertaining to the subject. Cooper s book covers all three of the topics that involved in

one must understand what good schedule resembles. This includes allotting the proper amount
time, it must be sustainable, clearly defined, account for delays or unexpected events, and to set
tasks to complete a common goal. Now one must choose a medium to record the schedule in,

I Am At Cedar Park
After months and months of waiting for a decision, I had come up with my own solution. The
money didn t seem as if it would come through for my brother and me to go to the private school
my dad worked at, Hyde Park, so I was mentally prepared to stay at Cedar Park for the rest of my
high school career. Everything seemed to be pointing at me staying there anyway, the guy I had
been in love with since 7th grade had just asked to get back together with me the night before,
this morning I had just run the Color Run with one of my best friends, and I had just finished
hanging out with a group of my favorite people since we had to do a school project. It seemed as
if God was calling me to stay at Cedar Park, and then when my mom came to pick me from my
friend s house, she said that one sentence that changed my life; The money came through,
welcome to Hyde Park. I couldn t believe it. Up until this past weekend I was all for resigning from
my life at Cedar Park to go pursue a life at a new exciting school where I knew no one but my
brother. It had been a dream of mine since the summer before my sophomore year; I yearned for
the knowledge of how to find myself in a new place and to have the ability to play sports since I
had chosen band my freshman year at Cedar Park and was cemented with it for the rest of high
school. And now sophomore year was almost over and I was finally a sixteen year old ready to take

Rita Hayworth And Shawshank Redemption Analysis
In the novella, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption , the reader follows the life of
Andy Dufresne, who is wrongly convicted of murdering his wife for sleeping with a golf pro.
Author Stephen King describes Andy s experiences, and his attempt to escape from Shawshank
Prison. Red, Andy s most valuable friend while in prison, is also in prison for killing his wife,
but in contrast to Andy, he actually did it. Andy is consistently denied freedom through parole or
when evidence arises proving his innocence, because of his role running the illegal money
laundering scheme for Warden Norton. Throughout the novella, both characters display
moments of similar, but also at times vastly different, levels of hope. King uses characters with
various amounts of hope to prove that it is important to maintain hope through difficult
situations in order to improve one s life, and that without hope one won t progress in life. Andy s
hope throughout the novella illustrates that hope is a positive quality to have in order to get
through difficult situation in life. For example, Andy is persistent writing letters to the state,
asking for more money for building a better library. This suggests that Andy is hopeful for
additional funds for his library, which not only improve his relationship with the other prisoners,
but also insures he is on good terms with the guards and is left alone while planning to escape.
King uses this to reveal how hope can be constructive towards forming a better life, even when
stuck in a terrible place such as prison. Additionally, when a new prisoner comes to Shawshank
with evidence that Andy is innocent, Andy does not give up hope. When Warden Norton tells
Andy that any attempt to prove his innocence won t work, Andy exclaims, Well, it s a chance, isn
t it? (King 66). This confirms that Andy hasn t let himself become institutionalized and desires to
leave prison and prove his innocence. Andy s hope leads him to not be afraid of questioning
authority, even though he is powerless. Without hope, Andy will be controlled by Norton and
exploited. Furthermore, when Andy is talking to Red about escaping to Mexico, Red describes that
Andy strolled off, as if he were a free man who had just made another

The Downward Spiral of the United States Economy In the world to date, there seems to be an

The US transportation industry would suffer economic hardships jobs would be lost and

sixty percent of all oil used from foreign nations (Lugar). If foreign oil was not imported, an

it can take five to ten years to start up an oil processing plant, the oil reserves in the US would be

Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia Essay
Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia is a type of dwarfism. Dwarfism is a disorder can happen because
of several different reasons. This type of dwarfism occurs because of a defective gene from at
least one parent that is passed down to its offspring, but could also occur because of a new
mutation in the gene passed down. Although there are different types of dwarfism they all cause
the person to be short, and sometimes disfigured or distorted. This type and most of the others not
only affect the persons legs, but can also effect different parts of their body. There are treatments

Davis views started coming through in her academics at a very young age as well, in high school
Davis did everything she could to start to an interracial study group, the group was harassed, and
then disbanded by the police. Eventually Davis would go onto start herself a legacy that is greatly

In 1963, four black girls were killed in a bombing of a church, the bombing took place in her

Ministries Of The Church From A Biblical Standpoint
Ministries in the Church From a Biblical Standpoint
Eston Racey
THEO 202 001
March 10, 2017 The topic discussed in this paper is the doctrine of the ministries of the church.
This doctrine informs of the different services and resources performed or distributed by the
church. Whether being the church as a whole or on the local level of the community and the world.
This topic, though it may seem relatively simple on the surface, is very important. There are many
different interpretations and practices of how the church should or should not perform ministry. A
clear understanding of the surrounding people and culture, as well as biblical truth is required or

This means that along with the leaders of the church being required to minister, but all believers
in Christ as well. This is seen clearly in Mathew 28:19 20, as Jesus is addressing His followers
instructing them to go out into the world and make disciples of Him. This command was not just
in regard s to the original twelve disciples but a command for all believers to come. Ministry has
no perfect formula or model that all churches or believers should follow. 1 Corinthians 12:4 6 in
short says, that their is one true God who has given everyone different abilities, gifts, and
purposes. These things allow each person to minister in different ways and spread His Word. So
in essence not only is everyone called to minister and share the gospel, but also everyone will
share biblical truth in the way God intend them to. Believers must allow God to work through them
and take hold of the unique traits He has gifted to each individual, so that His Word may be spread.
Throughout the different periods in church history: The Ancient Church (100 AD 590 AD), The
Medieval Church (590 1570 AD), The Reformation and Counter Reformation (1570 1648AD) and
The Modern Church (1648 present), the church has developed many different ways of interpreting
what scripture said and how to apply it to church ministry. The Ancient Church (100 590 AD),
refers to the era directly after Jesus crucifixion and ascension into Heaven. This time period was the

Switching Power In Oroonoko, By Aphra Behn
Once power is given it cannot be taken away that is the way everyone thinks right that if the
status is higher up it cannot be knocked down. Wrong. Just as quickly power is given it can be
taken away even faster. One narrative I will discuss in this essay is Oroonoko by Aphra Behn. This
narrative could be viewed in many different ways. One way it can be seen is as a biography,
another is a memoir, but it can also be seen as a travel narrative. In this essay I will touch base on
the topics of switching power. By switching power I mean how different individual s power
fluctuates within situations in the novel. Aphra Behnand Oroonokoare able to exceed the way they

alternate solutions before prescribing Ritalin. Some experts also believe that Ritalin should be
only part of the treatment for patients with ADD or ADHD. The drug, which now saturates the
market, produces the same sensations as the narcotic speed if someone who is not ADD or
ADHD takes it. Because of its narcotic nature, Ritalin is considered by law to be a controlled
substance, and its dosage and intake must be carefully monitored. Parents see Ritalin as a quick fix
and urge doctors to prescribe it for their children, thus leading to premature or improper diagnoses,
more people having adverse side effects to the drug, and an increased availability of the drug for
non medicinal purposes.
Many doctors do not take the time to perform a complete evaluation of the patient who is
suspected to have ADD or ADHD. They listen to the teacher or parent and assume because the
child has a short attention span or is very hyperactive that the child must have ADD. The doctors
do not take time to examine other possibilities for the child s behavior such as learning disabilities,
depression, or anxiety disorders that look like ADHD, but do not need Ritalin (Hancock 55).
This need to find a quick fix has

Reasons Why George Was Justified In Of Mice And Men
Is killing someone right or wrong? In the novella Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck readers
are conflicted with this question all around the world. George killed Lennie after Lennie
accidentally killed Curley s wife.George and Lennie had known eachother for a long time they
even traveled together. George helped Lennie out of multiple situations and killing him was the
best way he could think of in the instance of Lennie killing Curley s wife.Even though Lennie and
George were friends, George was justified in killing Lennie because Lennie was undisciplined and
unsafe. First and foremost, George has to constantly continue to repeat rules to Lennie because
Lennie is undisciplined. Like, after Slim gives Lennie a puppy Lennie brings the puppy into the
bunkhouse with him even though George told him he was not supposed to. For example, after
Lennie comes into the bunkhouse John Steinbeck writes that George reached down and picked up
the tiny puppy from where Lennie had been concealing it against his stomach. (Steinbeck) In this
quote it shows that Lennie disobeyed the rules that George has set with him so he could get the
puppy this means that Lennie is undisciplined because he broke the rules even though he knew
that there were specific rules that were not supposed to be broken. consequently, George has to
repeat himself many times and treat Lennie like a child by fixing the things that Lennie messes up
and disobeyes the rules. So George was justified in his decision to kill

In addition, the schools that takes part in the project avails a controlled setting in which the
manipulation of the environment is possible.
At the national level, the FFVP program is usually administered by the Food and Nutrition Service
of the USDA. On the other hand, the Department of Agriculture in Texas is charged with the
responsibility of administering this program at the state level (Jeffers, 2003). In Texas, the program
administrator of the FFVP is responsible for managing and overseeing this program. The
determination of the success of the FFVP program would be a reduction in plate waste amounts and
increase in the consumption of vegetables and fruits.
Intervention
As a community based response to the issue, including community based planning, needs
assessments, and selection of locally identified objectives, the community considered created a Get

There are economic factors and funding intervention strategies to address these issues. Each year
the state spends in excess of $337 million on obesity directly related diseases and conditions

community members become aware of these costs and how these funds could be better used to

personal hygiene. In Deborah Tannen s essay There is no unmarked woman Tannen states that it is
inevitable for a women to be unmarked. Tannen assert that ways a women is marked include the
makeup a woman wears, her clothes, and the amount of jewelry she has on. I agree with Tannen
because women aren t able to fully express themselves like men due to the stamp society has placed
on us. Women are marked and judged by their outer appearance rather than their innermost. Tannen
distinguished that each of the women at the conference had to make decisions about hair, clothing,

The Expansion Of The World War II
Since World War II, Pittsburgh has transitioned from a manufacturing town to one of health,
education, and technology. It has been used as an example of how rust belt cities can come back
after a major loss of industry. Not only was the economy able to deal with the blow of the loss of
steel, but also the culture and quality of life was able to improve when things looked bleak.
Evidence of this is visible in the innovative building use, use of public land, and public amenities. In
the time after WWII, there were negative changes as well including community loss and resident
relocation and some previous problems that persisted through that reinvention.
Pittsburgh experienced three major renaissance periods where different parts of city ... Show more

In the Lower Hill District, homes and business were razed to make way for the Civic Arena. The
Civic Arena was to be the home for the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera and many other entertainment
events, later to be used as the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. While such a venue
was convenient to the downtown area to attract visitors and residents alike, the neighborhood that
was sacrificed was an important one to the history and culture of Pittsburgh. The Hill District was a
thriving community with a strong jazz scene and home to many prominent black Pittsburghers,
including Teenie Harris and August Wilson. Residents were forced to relocate in a time when black
families did not have an easy time finding housing or reconnecting with the communities,
oftentimes requiring relocation into undesirable public housing projects. Mayor David L. Lawrence
followed the recommendation of the NAACP and implemented a fair housing act in 1958 to reduce
racial discrimination (Trotter and Day 2010), which came three years after demolition of the
neighborhood began. This meant that while the damage had been done to the community, both
built and social, the opportunity to integrate the city was missed, and many black families relocated
to inner ring suburbs or other neighborhoods, which meant

The Portrait Of A Lady By Henry James
The Portrait of a Lady by Henry James is a heartfelt story about a naive American named Isabel
Archer, who experienced love and heartbreak.
Pain s deep... but it passes, after all. It s passing now but love remains. Ralph Touchett.
The main characters of this story are Isabel Archer, Ralph Touchett, Lord Warburton, Caspar
Goodwood, Pansy Osmond, and Mr. Touchett.
The time span was in the late 1860 s. The story starts at an old house in Florence. The book
describes it as, A long gabled front of red brick, with the complexion of which time and the
weather had played all sorts of picturesque tricks, only, however, to improve and refine it, presented
itself to the lawn, with its patches of ivy, its clustered chimneys, its windows smothered in creepers.
(pg.4) Mr. Touchett, Lord Warburton, and Ralph Touchett were on the porch talking about what an
interesting woman would be to them. As the story goes on, we are introduced to Mrs. Touchett,
who is going to bring her niece to England. Mr. Touchett joked with Ralph and Lord Warburton and
told them that neither of them were to fall in love with his niece. The two laughed at the time, but
by the end of the story, they both fell in love with her.
Lord Warburton was the first one to fall in love with Isabel. He proposed not too long after
meeting her. But as much thought and love came into what Lord Warburton said, Isabel refused. I

symbol of indulgence for the finer luxuries. At the essence, it is one of the few haute couture
brands which is an added sense of elegance and importance. The brand focuses on those consumers
who look toward the augmented value of the product and not the product itself. The representation
of ES as a brandfor the affluent and glamorous is the intangible benefit offered through its
products. The decision to pay money for a product or service is often based on more than just the
product or service itself. Consumers care deeply about the overall experience of the buying
process: They respond to the marketingmessage, the advertising, the sales approach, the website,
the interaction with company personnel, and more. When all these elements come together to form
a seamless experience, the customer is left with a feeling of satisfaction that ultimately builds
loyalty (Joseph, 2010). The actual product offered by Saab in haute coutureis one created through

opportunity to gain market share by producing a low cost product with unsurpassed quality. If
exporting was their only option, maintaining competitiveness through a low cost product may not
be possible due to their overseas competition.
As described above, increased tariffs on imported goods drives cost to the product. If the product
and its raw materials are made in the host country, tariffs will be eliminated. However, if a fixed
exchange rate was negotiated and labor in the home country was less expensive than the possible
host country than importation could be further considered. If the cost to produce goods at home
and a fixed exchange rate could drive the home country to export. A fixed exchange rate when it
comes to taxation and when it is applied along with the comparative advantage theory is actually
good for importation of goods.

Challenges Of Bilingual Education
Bilingual is a person who can use two languages in his daily life, and they can basically speak a
foreign language and a native language while listening, speaking, reading and writing. Today, many
developing countries are trying bilingual education as a dominant form of education because
through experimentation and time accumulation, bilingual educationis a great advantage for all
students (Thomas, W Collier, V. 1997). Bilingual education has a high demand among schools,
teachers, courses, textbooks, and students. For example, in China, there are many ethnic groups,
which are scattered in different regions. The government not only wants each group to retain its
original language, but also hopes that they can communicate with each other in Mandarin. The
Chinese government has introduced bilingual education into the educational system of ethnic
minorities. Although developing countries face several challenges in integrating bilingual
education into the regular teaching of school, there are several strategies that might help.
Before discussing the challenges of bilingual education in developing countries, there are three
distinct characteristics of Bilingual Education. The first characteristic is language goals. It means
bilingual education that aims to promote bilingual or multilingual competence by using both or all
languages as media of instruction for significant portions of the academic curriculum (Genesee, F.
2005). The next characteristic is teaching methods.

Any smart grid (SG) infrastructure should support monitoring, analysis, control, and
communication capabilities to the conventional Power Grid System to maximize the throughput of
the system and reduce the energy consumption. The existing power grids need optimal balancing
of electricity demand and supply between the consumers and the utility providers. So, Energy
management needs to be addressed with the implementation of cloud computing in smart grid
(SG). The overwhelming heterogeneous information generated in the smart grid (SG) due to
widely deployed monitoring , metering, and measurement calls for a powerful and cost effective
information management mechanism for data processing, analysis and storage. Hence, we
explore how cloud computing, a next generation computing paradigm serves the information
management in the smart grid (SG) In this respect, cloud computing can play key roles of
motivation in the design of smart grid (SG). Cloud Providers facilitate cloud computing and
offer services with their huge servers for computations and with their bid data centers for
storage. This paper is organized as follows. In section II overview of cloud computing is presented.
In section III and IV smart grid (SG) overview and its Framework is described. In section V
analysis of cloud computing for smart grid (SG) applications is presented

The Surveillance Of Cctv Cameras
Over the years, banks have housed several of their branches in large buildings, sharing their space
with other occupants. Although security is a key factor in consideration of the location of a bank,
smart individuals use this positioning to their advantage. Access is gained by cutting a hole in the
floor, and theft occurs. With the passing years, securityin banks has been evident with the reliance
of CCTV cameras. This ensures monitoring of the users activities in banks by security officers
who take turns in watching the screens for any uneventful, unexpected happenings. The CCTV
cameras are placed strategically in every corner to ensure each detail of the activities taking place
is recorded. The ATMs are also monitored in anticipation... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This made the people hesitate to invest any significant amount of money at the time. The idea
slowly began to catch on after easing into E commerce. Major and minor banks are trying to
enhance the security of their firms using different methods. The security system of some banks
requires highly trained, capable individuals who can protect progression of activities in their
allocated areas, be it inside the bank, at ATM portals and in monitoring CCTV cameras.
Use of laser beams that generate intense beams of coherent monochromatic light through
simulated emission of photons has been used as a security measure. They are used either as
sensors to trigger alarms or as penetrative destructive beams in highly confiscated areas, which
allow limited or no access at all. Online banking security measures are kept to plan by the banks
allowing software developers to create antivirus software and sell the software to them. Users are
required to download this antivirus for themselves without necessarily consulting the bank s
security operators. Recent trends have shown the use of biometric analysis in the form of hand
writing recognition, hand finger, and geometry (Taylor, 2013).
Unlike the current system, the working of this system will provide accurate data storage, since any
transaction is recorded on the device and can be easily traced. The system will also create more
client confidentiality since any unauthorized individual cannot access the data stored in the system.

The Indwelling Urinary Catheter And Urinary Retention Problem
The indwelling urinary catheter can be inserted for a long period with frequent changes between
4 6 weeks (Taylor, Lillis, LeMone, Lynn, 2011). However, the Foley can also be a potential
source for UTI and bacteriuria (Taylor et al., 2011). The necessity of reducing the patient s period
of time on a Foley and helping him or her to quickly regain normal bladder function is significant.
Performing bladder training through clamping the urinary catheter is reported to decrease the
frequency of urinary retention, shorten the period of returning to normal bladder function, and
stimulate normal bladder filling and emptying by improving bladder tone and sensation (Nyman,
2012). When one thinks critically, bladder retraining seems to be reasonable and necessary but
there is always the need of evidence based evaluation. The following journals are trials providing
evidences and statistics about bladder retraining prior to Foley removal in different populations
presented with urinary retention problem.
The chosen population in this journal were patients with hip fracture at a Swedish university
hospital (Nyman, Johansson, Gustafsson, 2010). Patients with hip fracture experience long periods
of bed rest and pain resulting in dysuria, which requires the insertion of a Foley before surgery.
The trial started at 6 a.m. on the postoperative day two (Nyman et al., 2010). One group had their
catheter clamped and then only unclamped when there was a need for urination, while one group

Birth of a Nation film critique
D. W. Griffith was raised on a Kentucky farm in Crestwood, with his father, his mother, and
sister. His father was a colonel in the Confederate Army, and served Kentucky as a state
legislator. His family raised him Methodist, and his sister did his schooling in a one room
schoolhouse. At the age of 10, his father died and his mother left the farm to move to Louisville,
Kentucky. They struggled with poverty after that, and he eventually got into acting and
filmmaking. He started off as an actor when his first screenplay was rejected. However, he started
working with a production company called Biograph, and soon became the main director. However,
his intentions and budget did not match up with Biograph s ideas and motives, so he left... Show

When he tries to express his sexuality towards her, she brushes him off, which further enforces
the idea that the free blacks are over sexualized. The biggest sense of loyalty from Mammy we
see is when she tries to protect her master from union soldiers arresting him for being in the Ku
Klux Klan. Gus, the Union Solider, seems to be best associated with brute and coon tendencies,
which is characterized by his sexuality towards Flora. The union soldiers in general represent
the brutal buck character type because they are seen as violent, uncontrollable and sexualized in
the film. Gus, also has coon tendencies, however, in the way his character expresses himself.
His eyes are very big and full of expression, and seem to be laughed at a lot. He is used as comic
relief in addition to his role as an instigator to the Ku Klux Klan. When he comes onto Flora, he
is overly sexual and aggressive towards her. He seems to be out of control as soon as the
interaction starts, and ends with a chasing scene through the forest. This goes along with the
Moonlight and Magnolia theme that white women are the epitome of beauty, and how frail and
delicate they seem. Silas Lynch is also depicted as overly aggressive in his pursuit and proposal to
Elsie Stoneman. This represents the fear of miscegenation, as well as rape. The skewed view
promotes the domination of women through portrayals of white women and black soldiers. The
Stoneman housekeeper, Lydia, is portrayed as a

The Use Of Cross Symbols
The Cross
The cross is a symbol that has been used throughout the centuries as a symbol of the Christian
religion. There are 4 types of representation of the cross: the crux quadrata, the crux immissa, the
crux decussata. The crux quadrata is a Greek cross where the 4 arms are equal. The crux immissa is
a Latin cross where only 3 of the 4 arms are equal. Its stem is longer compared to the other arms.
The crux commissa has the shape of tau, a Greek letter and can also be referred to as St.
Anthony s cross. Crux decussata is named from the Roman symbol of the number 10 and is also
referred to as St. Andrew s cross. Long before the Christian Era, cross symbols were used but it s
unclear if they were a representation for belief and worship or if they were just marks.
Before the 4th century Christians were extremely conservative about displaying the cross because
they were vulnerable to being ridiculed and being in danger. During the 4th century when
Constantine was emperor, he eliminated crucifixion. During that time, crucifixion was used as a
form of death penalty. Emperor Constantine encouraged the use of the cross and they began popular
in funeral monuments and Christian art from c.350. Centuries after, the crosses had a
representation of Christ. The representation of Christ by the 9th century had become more realistic
and portrayed agony, it showed Christ with a crown of thorns. The crucifix is mostly for peoples
own devotional use. During the 16th century, Lutherans

The movie Nightcrawler is a film that depicts a man that is a fast thinking, hard negotiating,
never give up, criminal. This criminal, Lou, is bold enough to steal goods and then ask for a job
while selling the goods he stole. His greatest desire is build a career for himself and learn a trade
so that he can own his own company. Lou witnesses a horrific car crash where the car caught on
fire and sees a videographer come in and video the scene and sell it. The videographer, Joe, tells
him that he can sell the video to highest bidder and that it would be a top story on the news. Lou
was intrigued and asked if Joe had a job, which he did not, and when Lou saw the work on the news
he was convinced this was his new career.
Lou steals a high end bike and trades up at a pawn shop for a video camera and a police scanner. His
first story is a carjacking story where he was able to get up close footage. Nina, the director of
news, was very interested in his footage for the pure graphic nature of it and that it was related to
crime. After she buys that footage from him, she gives him advice about what their particular news
channel is all about. She tells him that crime in a specific location are of interest to her, not the
urban areas but more about the crime that is overflowing into the suburbs. She tells Lou that it
would be better if the perpetrators are minority and that the victims are white. She tells him that not

The USA PATRIOT is an acronym for Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate
Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (the USA Patriot Act). It was made to provide
the United States government with certain tools and weapons to fight against terrorism around the
globe. The USA Patriot Actviolates American civil liberties and is unconstitutional by restricting
the First Amendment and Fourth Amendment in the Bill of Rights. This act violates freedom of
religion and speech. It violates the right to no search and seizure without proper warrants or

There are over 370 of these words that will flag an ordinary American citizen to be searched.
Imagine how many people search these words on a day to day basis. This is why the Patriot Act
does not help fight terrorism but rather loads government agencies with useless data and threatens
Americans right to freedom of speech: The Patriot Act s provisions are really a grab bag of
governmental powers that have been sought over the years preceding September 11th, 2001 and
rejected as antithetical to civil liberties (Maag). History showed us previously to the Patriot Act
that sometimes Americans realize some legislation in the United States government needs to be
rechecked, revised, or revoked. History has taught us that repressive laws adopted in previous
times of crisis (like the Alien and Sedition Act of seventeen ninety eight; restrictions on free speech,
and the notorious Palmer Raids during WWI; the internment of Japanese Americans during WWII;
blacklists and domestic spying during and after the Cold War/McCarthy era) were eventually
recognized as unnecessary at best, and dangerous (The Patriot Act Is Not a Good Antiterrorism
Tool). History tends to repeat itself and the Patriot Act is a good example. The Patriot Act violates
the First Amendment by taking away American rights to freedom of

The Most Popular Teams Hail From The Northwest
The Sounders played the timbers for the first time on may 2nd, 1975, a 1 0 victory for the
sounders that would start the most heated and bitter rivalry in all of American soccer. The Seattle
sounders, the larger team from the larger city averages an average 43,000 in attendance for the
home games, a continent high and a respectable amount even in europe s most prestigious
leagues. Compared to portlands smaller 20,000 average in a smaller venues and a more modest
market. The fact that two of the MLS s most popular teams hail from the northwest is no surprise
as soccer is more popular here than anywhere else in the US. Aside from popularity the Timbers

But this strays from why they dislike each other, it about who is better, more about who is the best
in the northwest. The Seattle sounders have huge infrastructure for the expression of their fans,
from huge tifo s created by ECS to mock the timbers, to the march to the match closing down
some downtown seattle streets just to show that the fans are willing and able to. When your team
can average more fans than Chelsea, the premier league s reigning champion, you have something
to be proud of. The Timbers would argue so what, you have more people, but the atmosphere in
our city is something you could never match. At any home timbers game you can hear the constant
chanting and the green smoke and streamers exploding from the timbers army section. They
would say that no fans are as dedicated as theirs. One way the two fanbases each compete off the
pitch is in Tifo s, these are huge hand painted images on canvas by the supporters for each game.
They will mostly contain some form of taunting to the other team, Seattle and Portland are two of
the only teams in the MLS who create these because of the fan man hours and effort they take to
create. The seattle Sounders main fan group is the ECS, the emerald city supporters, based in bars
around seattle and has membership in the high hundreds, taking up most of the south lower stand

Society and the Media Build up of Celebrities to Tear Them...
Much of today s society seems obsessed on what actors/actress, athletes, and music artist are
wearing, eating, who they are marrying, dating, where they are vacationing, what affairs they
are having or have had, and how they live their everyday lives. What s so interesting about this
obsession is as a society we build them up only to tear them down. Media outlets are swift to
report when celebrities are in trouble; accomplishments are hardly reported unless they have
passed away or an awards show is being telecast. It s as if we want them to be perfect but once
they are associated with a scandal we begin to destroy their reputation, character, only to overlook
their accomplishment, if any. Should society hold them to higher standards just... Show more

Some of us would say No , but the majority of us would leap on the prospect of living the life of a
celebrity. Who doesn t want the perks of vacationing all over the world, having someone wait on
you hand and foot, receiving freebies from designers and all the other perks that come with being a
celebrity? The question is do we want the downfalls that come with fame? Can we handle vicious
tabloid scrutiny, fabrications, and assumptions? Being a celebrity has its perks, but at what cost?
Fame and money can be the root of all evil. Never the less, we are contributing to the madness when
we purchase tabloid magazines, watch entertainment shows that follow celebrity activities and
judge them for their actions.
How do we as a society play a part in the demise of an actor, athletes, and musical artist? We
alienate them when they are a part of any scandal or scandals, companies drop them from their
products, magazines, tabloids, and media outlets discuss the scandal non stop, flooding us with
the story non stop. Whoever is a part of the scandal is often given meaningless interviews or
book and movie deals. Any and everything the celebrity has done in the past, as well as the
party of the alleged scandal is dredged up. This is often called skeletons in the closet . What they
don t want out is often exposed and even if it s not true or a matter of privacy, we don t care, all we
want is the juicy info.

Case Study 10.4 Google and Youtube Together Essay
1.In your view and experience on YouTube, will typical YouTube viewers accept advertising while
watching the videos?
As a YouTube user, advertising is a pain and I try to avoid it whenever possible, but it could be
much worse and is generally non intrusive as possible. Some videos provide a flash overlay at the
bottom of the video that displays an advertisement similar to the Google ad words advertisements
that appear when using Google for searching. This flash overlay can even be closed as soon as it

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act requires the owners of content to notify websites when their
copyrights are infringed. This works for YouTubebecause the responsibility lies with the copyright
owners to police the site and notify them when they see their material posted, but this places extra
burden with those copyright holders. But if YouTube has to scan the vast numbers of videos
uploaded every minute on its site, the concept of YouTube would not work because users expect
their videos to be posted immediately.
3.Assume you were a manufacturer of sporting goods, and wanted to use YouTube videos as a
marketing tool to establish your brand. What concerns would you have about using YouTube?
Video advertisements have a response rate of 0.4%, which is still greater than regular web
advertisements such as banner ads, but is not an impressive number if I were a sporting goods
manufacturer looking to use YouTube video ads as a major part of my advertising budget. I can
expect that a large portion of the viewing audience would skip or block out my advertisement. The
return on investment is potentially very small. Another concern I would have would be copyright
issues, especially since 25% of the videos on YouTube contain copyrighted material and make up
possibly more than half of the total views. There could be potential risks of lawsuits from
advertisements appearing on videos which contain

The Battle Of The Se Sherman s Total War Strategy
The March to the Sea: Sherman s Total War Strategy to Save the Union Depending on geography,
William T Sherman has gone down in the annuals of history as either one of the most hated or most
respected generals of the Civil War. Through his March to the Sea, he became the first general in the
nineteenth century to use total war against an opponent. He knew civilian anger was inescapable in
wars and decided to not only use the outrage for the best military outcome, but also for the
psychological and emotional effect. Therefore, the March to the Sea not only left behind in its
wake a demoralized and defeated people, but also introduced a new war strategy, which would save
the nation. After his assignment to the southern states as a young military officer Sherman s
exposure to the secessionist movement helped him to understand the Southerner s will to fight
against the North. This assignment also provided Sherman with the complete knowledge of major
Southern strongholds. Sherman even warned President Lincoln not to underestimate the will of the
South and to his disappointment; Sherman felt the administration failed to take the threat Southern
secession seriously and did not make the proper preparations to deal with it. When devising his plan
for The March to the Sea, Sherman knew that he not only must capture military targets, but also
hurt the South psychologically as to break the will of the Southern people. Sherman s plan involved
less combat and concentrated more on the

because of that I will not let her speak. That came out wrong. The point is, Leslie is a great

she is making the wrong choice. Over a century ago, women embraced their rights and
independence as equals to men. Since the United States passed the 19th amendment (allowed
women to legally vote) with pride and happiness to achieve what they desire without the
obligation to a man s property or his strict previous perspective of the ideal women. As time
passed, something changed and women no longer admired and praise for their independence, but
instead objective to those norms as seen above with Leslie.Nowadays, women are judged for not
embodying the vision of the ideal woman housewife and housemother. As a result of this, women
yearned for more purpose in life, rather than restricted to the societal norms which defined women
worthiness, or the capability of women. Women are beginning to become more independent,
breadwinners, and in general, taking the roles of standard male figures. As a result, society is
beginning to discourage women for their hard work, instead of encouraging women as a whole to

  • 2. Sociological Analysis Of Private Troubles In The Military 1. Sociological Concept: The book defines private troubles as, problems we face in our immediate relationships with particular individuals in our personal lives (Witt, 2016, p. 3). Example: The example I found for private troubles are flyers posted on every bulletin board in every work center at Eielson Air Force Base. The flyers are made by the base chaplain and mental health clinic. The flyers are there to provide the phone numbers of people to contact who can help with private troubles. Sociological Analysis: The reason I picked these flyers to use for private troubles is that mental health and resiliency are stressed so much not only in the Air Force but in the military as a whole. Members of the military face private troubles on a daily basis, mainly with their family life or their coworkers. As a member of the military, we cannot do our job to the best of our ability if we are always thinking about the private troubles of a marriage failing or not getting along with co works. So, to have support from the office of the chaplain and the mental health clinic is crucial to the well being of the military. In some cases, it is very obvious that a person is going through private troubles and others can do a very good job of hiding it. To have resources so readily available and willing to help with our private troubles is very important. 2. Sociological Concept: The book defines in group as, a category of people who share a common identity and sense of belonging (Witt, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Speed-Starting Tray or Pot-Compost Seed starting tray or pot Compost Introduction Irisses work well in beds, borders and foundation plantings. Comstock/Stockbyte/Getty Images With its six petaled flowers that range in color from yellow, white and pink to blue, red and purple, iris (Iris spp.) can be an attractive addition in the garden. Iris consists of more than 200 species, many of which are hardy to U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zone 3. Siberian iris (Iris sibirica) and crested iris (Iris cristata), for instance, can thrive in USDA plant hardiness zones 3 through 9. (See References 1) Although commonly grown true to type by division, irises can also grow from seed, although they don t grow true to the parent plant. (See References 2) Step 1 Harvest the seedpods from an iris plant after it s done blooming in the fall. If pollinated, find the pods on the plant below faded flowers. Remove them from the plant when they are partially green and start to split open. Shell the pods to reveal about 60 seeds per pod. (See References 3) Step 2 Fill a small bowl with enough water to submerse the seeds. Place the seeds in the bowl and allow them to soak. Every day, drain the liquid, pouring it in a strainer so you catch the seeds. Refill the bowl with fresh water and place the seeds back in it. Do this for up to two weeks to eliminate the germination inhibiting properties of the seeds. (See References 4) Step 3 Mix 1 part bleach with 10 parts water in a bowl. Soak the seeds in this bleach solution ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Examples Of Hegemonic Masculinity Writing Assignment 5 In gender studies, hegemonic masculinity is the norms and values upheld as an ideal for all males. The concept of hegemonic masculinity was proposed first from a field study in Australian high schools of social inequality by Kessler. (Kessler et al. 1982) The concept was later made popular by sociologist R.W. Connell. All men are upheld to the image of being the strongest and most aggressive, and to hold the power over women and other men. What do males have that lead them to commit more crime? That question has been noted for years, but no one can pinpoint the exact answer. Some sociologist denote masculinity to the answer of the previous question. From a young age, men are perfectly characterized as someone who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 2012, H M used soccer star David Beckham is perhaps one of the most vivid ads still today. Beckham, a tattooed, athletic and muscular man, embodies hegemonic masculinity to a sporting audience. Because Beckham is a globally recognized, the commercial does not need to add his athletic ability, financial statues, and wife to gain audience viewers. By being married, Beckham is observed to be a real man. Placing someone like Beckham in a Super Bowl commercial, unlike an ordinary man, bring a whole new meaning to today s society. An eye opening example of movies that display hegemonic masculinity are Disney movies. Considering the male roles in The Lion King, Beauty in the Beast, and the Little Mermaid, the male roles have always come to the rescue to save the princess. Disney s artist create these male roles to be larger than the other characters and displaying more muscle. Most of these characters, and many I didn t mention, didn t just save the princess easily. • 7. Miriam By Truman Capote Analysis Truman Capote was an author who enjoyed adding strange or weird elements into ordinary scenarios. In Miriam, a young girl came into Mrs. Miller s life without any indication or explanation. This was the start of a new reality for her. Truman Capote decided to write this story to relate to his own personal life and the struggles he encountered along the way. While reading, one is able to recognize that the little girl Miriam relates to Capote, in a sense that whenever the young girl arrives at Mrs. Miller s home a second time and says The last place I lived was an old man; he was terribly poor and we never had good things to eat. Miller, and began to become insane because of this. I was wrong, the story was about an old woman by the name of Miriam. Her life was repetitive, going through the same routine day after day, until one night she decided to go out to the theater. While there, she met a young girl, they both shared the name Miriam, Mrs. Miller was taken by the girl s appearance. Later in the story we see that this was not yet just an encounter, but something much more. While Mrs. Miller is at home she is visited by the girl once again, this time the girl was demanding and demanded Mrs. Miller give her the brooch her husband had given her before his passing. Finally this girl leaves and days pass without seeing her so Mrs. Miller decides to go out, while out a man is following her until she gets away. The man is later is foreshadowed as the man who sheltered Miriam the young girl who Mrs. Miller is afraid of. • 8. Comparing Emerson And Thoreau During the nineteenth century, the new philosophical trend of transcendentalism occurred. Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau, two contemporary authors, expressed transcendentalist ideas through their writing. Their perspectives of nature and society were both very similar. They believe people need to simplify their lives, and spend time in nature. To them, nature is the key to peace and tranquillity that people knowingly and unknowingly seek. Herman Melville, another contemporary author of that time, has a very different view of nature. Through Moby Dick, he expresses his ideas that nature is essentially evil. He thinks that it is dangerous, and in order to protect yourself you need to go on the offense against it. Thoreau and Emerson urge people to live a peaceful, simplistic life and they think that spending time in nature, which is essentially good, is the key to doing so, while Melville thinks that nature is a destructive force that people should either avoid or fight. Emerson is one of the first people to introduce the idea of nature being the key to peace. He insists that the natural world is beautiful, and people should spend their time in it. In his essay Nature, Emerson says Nature never wears a mean appearance/Nature never becomes a toy to a wise spirit (Emerson 1).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By living in the wilderness, he finds true peace and harmony. Like Emerson, he thinks that nature is beautiful, gentle, and everybody should spend time in it. Society corrupts you and distracts you from the wonders that the natural world has to offer. Thoreau used nature to intertwine with his spirituality, such as in Walden when he says I got up early and bathed in the pond; that was a religious exercise, and one of the best things which I did (Thoreau 6). This was a way for him to become closer to the universe through nature. He thought that by doing this each morning he was given new strength for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Badm 350 Essay Assignment #3: iPremier BADM 350 1. How well did the iPremier Company perform during the seventy five minute attack? If you were Bob Turley, what might you have done differently during the attack? Normally, a company would follow emergency procedures while dealing with crises, but in iPremier s case, there was no emergency procedure available. Under these circumstances, and with no prior experience with security breaches, I believe the company performed well. Bob Turley communicated well with the other members of the company, but if I were in his shoes, I would have been more conservative and acted faster. In responding to the crisis, there were two main issues that iPremier faced understanding the attack, and restoring order. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... iPremier s procedures were absolutely deficient. They had an outdated emergency manual that employees couldn t find, and almost couldn t access the data center. Additional measures they could have implemented long before the attack include revising the emergency procedure and making sure all employees know how to follow it. 3. Now the attack has ended, what can the iPremier Company do to prepare for another such attack? While I mentioned revising the emergency procedure in the previous question, there are other ways to prepare as well. iPremier could implement a method to escalate unsatisfactory service from Qdata to higher level management; if they switch to a data center with open lines of communication, the next crisis would be easier to handle, or it might even be completely averted. 4. In the aftermath of the attack, what would you be worried about? What actions would you recommend? I would be worried about three issues, including the identity and motivation of the hacker, the amount of data that was taken from iPremier, and public disclosure. Since Bob didn t pull the plug, there is a log documenting what happened during the attack I would start by analyzing the log and trying to solve the first two issues. Public disclosure is a legal matter, yet it affect thee public image of iPremier, so I would consult with both Warren and Stewart to see both PR and legal s perspective on the attack, and formulate a public statement ... The money didn t seem as if it would come through for my brother and me to go to the private school my dad worked at, Hyde Park, so I was mentally prepared to stay at Cedar Park for the rest of my high school career. Everything seemed to be pointing at me staying there anyway, the guy I had been in love with since 7th grade had just asked to get back together with me the night before, this morning I had just run the Color Run with one of my best friends, and I had just finished hanging out with a group of my favorite people since we had to do a school project. It seemed as if God was calling me to stay at Cedar Park, and then when my mom came to pick me from my friend s house, she said that one sentence that changed my life; The money came through, welcome to Hyde Park. I couldn t believe it. Up until this past weekend I was all for resigning from my life at Cedar Park to go pursue a life at a new exciting school where I knew no one but my brother. It had been a dream of mine since the summer before my sophomore year; I yearned for the knowledge of how to find myself in a new place and to have the ability to play sports since I had chosen band my freshman year at Cedar Park and was cemented with it for the rest of high school. And now sophomore year was almost over and I was finally a sixteen year old ready to take on the world with a license, wanting freedom. For so long I had been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. Rita Hayworth And Shawshank Redemption Analysis In the novella, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption , the reader follows the life of Andy Dufresne, who is wrongly convicted of murdering his wife for sleeping with a golf pro. Author Stephen King describes Andy s experiences, and his attempt to escape from Shawshank Prison. Red, Andy s most valuable friend while in prison, is also in prison for killing his wife, but in contrast to Andy, he actually did it. Andy is consistently denied freedom through parole or when evidence arises proving his innocence, because of his role running the illegal money laundering scheme for Warden Norton. Throughout the novella, both characters display moments of similar, but also at times vastly different, levels of hope. King uses characters with various amounts of hope to prove that it is important to maintain hope through difficult situations in order to improve one s life, and that without hope one won t progress in life. Andy s hope throughout the novella illustrates that hope is a positive quality to have in order to get through difficult situation in life. For example, Andy is persistent writing letters to the state, asking for more money for building a better library. This suggests that Andy is hopeful for additional funds for his library, which not only improve his relationship with the other prisoners, but also insures he is on good terms with the guards and is left alone while planning to escape. King uses this to reveal how hope can be constructive towards forming a better life, even when stuck in a terrible place such as prison. Additionally, when a new prisoner comes to Shawshank with evidence that Andy is innocent, Andy does not give up hope. When Warden Norton tells Andy that any attempt to prove his innocence won t work, Andy exclaims, Well, it s a chance, isn t it? (King 66). This confirms that Andy hasn t let himself become institutionalized and desires to leave prison and prove his innocence. Andy s hope leads him to not be afraid of questioning authority, even though he is powerless. Without hope, Andy will be controlled by Norton and exploited. Furthermore, when Andy is talking to Red about escaping to Mexico, Red describes that Andy strolled off, as if he were a free man who had just made another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Downward Spiral of the United States Economy In the world to date, there seems to be an increase of world governments needing bailouts, and people of the world needing assistance from the United States. This idea has caused many Americans to come to the conclusion that if the United States closed off borders to foreign trade, it would increase it s standard of living and make America more profitable. However, this idea is false. This is seen clearly in Mathew 28:19 20, as Jesus is addressing His followers instructing them to go out into the world and make disciples of Him. This command was not just in regard s to the original twelve disciples but a command for all believers to come. Ministry has no perfect formula or model that all churches or believers should follow. 1 Corinthians 12:4 6 in short says, that their is one true God who has given everyone different abilities, gifts, and purposes. These things allow each person to minister in different ways and spread His Word. So in essence not only is everyone called to minister and share the gospel, but also everyone will share biblical truth in the way God intend them to. Believers must allow God to work through them and take hold of the unique traits He has gifted to each individual, so that His Word may be spread. In the novella Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck readers are conflicted with this question all around the world. George killed Lennie after Lennie accidentally killed Curley s wife.George and Lennie had known eachother for a long time they even traveled together. George helped Lennie out of multiple situations and killing him was the best way he could think of in the instance of Lennie killing Curley s wife.Even though Lennie and George were friends, George was justified in killing Lennie because Lennie was undisciplined and unsafe. First and foremost, George has to constantly continue to repeat rules to Lennie because Lennie is undisciplined. Like, after Slim gives Lennie a puppy Lennie brings the puppy into the bunkhouse with him even though George told him he was not supposed to. For example, after Lennie comes into the bunkhouse John Steinbeck writes that George reached down and picked up the tiny puppy from where Lennie had been concealing it against his stomach. (Steinbeck) In this quote it shows that Lennie disobeyed the rules that George has set with him so he could get the puppy this means that Lennie is undisciplined because he broke the rules even though he knew that there were specific rules that were not supposed to be broken. consequently, George has to repeat himself many times and treat Lennie like a child by fixing the things that Lennie messes up and disobeyes the rules. Rational Individualism is the self realization of one s worth and how to go about life in the most logical and beneficial way for one s own well being. In The Fountainhead, the protagonist, Howard Roark, is depicted by Ayn Randas the epitome of objectivism. A common theme that has been brought up multiple times throughout this novel and plays a major role in understanding rational individualism, would be integrity. Today, many developing countries are trying bilingual education as a dominant form of education because through experimentation and time accumulation, bilingual educationis a great advantage for all students (Thomas, W Collier, V. 1997). Bilingual education has a high demand among schools, teachers, courses, textbooks, and students. For example, in China, there are many ethnic groups, which are scattered in different regions. The government not only wants each group to retain its original language, but also hopes that they can communicate with each other in Mandarin. The Chinese government has introduced bilingual education into the educational system of ethnic minorities. Although developing countries face several challenges in integrating bilingual education into the regular teaching of school, there are several strategies that might help. Before discussing the challenges of bilingual education in developing countries, there are three distinct characteristics of Bilingual Education. The first characteristic is language goals. It means bilingual education that aims to promote bilingual or multilingual competence by using both or all languages as media of instruction for significant portions of the academic curriculum (Genesee, F. 2005). The Indwelling Urinary Catheter And Urinary Retention Problem The indwelling urinary catheter can be inserted for a long period with frequent changes between 4 6 weeks (Taylor, Lillis, LeMone, Lynn, 2011). However, the Foley can also be a potential source for UTI and bacteriuria (Taylor et al., 2011). The necessity of reducing the patient s period of time on a Foley and helping him or her to quickly regain normal bladder function is significant. Performing bladder training through clamping the urinary catheter is reported to decrease the frequency of urinary retention, shorten the period of returning to normal bladder function, and stimulate normal bladder filling and emptying by improving bladder tone and sensation (Nyman, 2012). When one thinks critically, bladder retraining seems to be reasonable and necessary but there is always the need of evidence based evaluation. The following journals are trials providing evidences and statistics about bladder retraining prior to Foley removal in different populations presented with urinary retention problem. The chosen population in this journal were patients with hip fracture at a Swedish university hospital (Nyman, Johansson, Gustafsson, 2010). Patients with hip fracture experience long periods of bed rest and pain resulting in dysuria, which requires the insertion of a Foley before surgery. There are 4 types of representation of the cross: the crux quadrata, the crux immissa, the crux decussata. The crux quadrata is a Greek cross where the 4 arms are equal. The crux immissa is a Latin cross where only 3 of the 4 arms are equal. Its stem is longer compared to the other arms. The crux commissa has the shape of tau, a Greek letter and can also be referred to as St. Anthony s cross. Crux decussata is named from the Roman symbol of the number 10 and is also referred to as St. Andrew s cross. Long before the Christian Era, cross symbols were used but it s unclear if they were a representation for belief and worship or if they were just marks. Before the 4th century Christians were extremely conservative about displaying the cross because they were vulnerable to being ridiculed and being in danger. During the 4th century when Constantine was emperor, he eliminated crucifixion. During that time, crucifixion was used as a form of death penalty. Who doesn t want the perks of vacationing all over the world, having someone wait on you hand and foot, receiving freebies from designers and all the other perks that come with being a celebrity? The question is do we want the downfalls that come with fame? Can we handle vicious tabloid scrutiny, fabrications, and assumptions? Being a celebrity has its perks, but at what cost? Fame and money can be the root of all evil. Never the less, we are contributing to the madness when we purchase tabloid magazines, watch entertainment shows that follow celebrity activities and judge them for their actions. How do we as a society play a part in the demise of an actor, athletes, and musical artist? We alienate them when they are a part of any scandal or scandals, companies drop them from their products, magazines, tabloids, and media outlets discuss the scandal non stop, flooding us with the story non stop. Whoever is a part of the scandal is often given meaningless interviews or book and movie deals. Any and everything the celebrity has done in the past, as well as the party of the alleged scandal is dredged up. This is often called skeletons in the closet . What they don t want out is often exposed and even if it s not true or a matter of privacy, we don t care, all we want is the juicy info. Tiger ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a YouTube user, advertising is a pain and I try to avoid it whenever possible, but it could be much worse and is generally non intrusive as possible. Some videos provide a flash overlay at the bottom of the video that displays an advertisement similar to the Google ad words advertisements that appear when using Google for searching. This flash overlay can even be closed as soon as it appears. The advertisement does not hinder the viewer from being able to watch their video immediately. The text in the case study mentions how most viewers are dissatisfied with having to watch an advertisement before viewing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Digital Millennium Copyright Act requires the owners of content to notify websites when their copyrights are infringed. This works for YouTubebecause the responsibility lies with the copyright owners to police the site and notify them when they see their material posted, but this places extra burden with those copyright holders. But if YouTube has to scan the vast numbers of videos uploaded every minute on its site, the concept of YouTube would not work because users expect their videos to be posted immediately. 3.Assume you were a manufacturer of sporting goods, and wanted to use YouTube videos as a marketing tool to establish your brand. What concerns would you have about using YouTube? Video advertisements have a response rate of 0.4%, which is still greater than regular web advertisements such as banner ads, but is not an impressive number if I were a sporting goods manufacturer looking to use YouTube video ads as a major part of my advertising budget. I can expect that a large portion of the viewing audience would skip or block out my advertisement. The return on investment is potentially very small. Another concern I would have would be copyright issues, especially since 25% of the videos on YouTube contain copyrighted material and make up possibly more than half of the total views. There could be potential risks of lawsuits from advertisements appearing on videos which contain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Modern Feminism In the NBC, television show Park and Recreation, Pie Mary , Ben Knope declares, I m sorry, this whole thing makes me queasy. I love how independent my wife is and because of that I will not let her speak. That came out wrong. The point is, Leslie is a great mother, public servant all around person. And I am tired of everyone constantly telling her that she is making the wrong choice. Over a century ago, women embraced their rights and independence as equals to men. Since the United States passed the 19th amendment (allowed women to legally vote) with pride and happiness to achieve what they desire without the obligation to a man s property or his strict previous perspective of the ideal women. As time passed, something changed and women no longer admired and praise for their independence, but instead objective to those norms as seen above with Leslie.Nowadays, women are judged for not embodying the vision of the ideal woman housewife and housemother. As a result of this, women yearned for more purpose in life, rather than restricted to the societal norms which defined women worthiness, or the capability of women. Women are beginning to become more independent, breadwinners, and in general, taking the roles of standard male figures. As a result, society is beginning to discourage women for their hard work, instead of encouraging women as a whole to continue to strive for better. Going back before culture was established.
