Reliability Analysis
Some researchers argue that the cost of spares is always an area where cost reduction can be of
significant. With the help of suppliers and equipment vendors, purchasing department can place orders
in the form of contracts or Service level agreement (SLA) that guarantee delivery lead times for the
designated inventory items. It makes business sense to shift the risk concerning the cost of
maintaining the inventory to the suppliers. Reliability is the probability that the plant will perform its
intended function satisfactory under specified environmental and operating conditions (British
standard, 2012). Reliability is the probability that the system is operating satisfactory at any given

Yan et al (2008) Ebeling (1997), pointed out the purpose of maintenance is to extend equipment life
and minimise the frequency of service interruption. Ebeling (1997) concluded that availability is the
important index of the all indices for power availability. Several maintenance types or tactics have
been suggested by many authors for example (Mowbray, 1991 and Kelly, 1997). There are mainly two
types of maintenance practices and these are breakdown and preventive maintenance. Breakdown
maintenance requires replacement of damaged part of the equipment during unscheduled maintenance
while preventive maintenance requires replacement of the components at pre determined intervals.
Condition based maintenance is used to monitor the condition of the equipment using condition
monitoring technique.
There is a general belief that corrective maintenance is less economical than preventive maintenance,
and all failures can then be prevented. This approach to preventive maintenance firstly wastes a lot of
resources in doing unnecessary tasks which will not improve equipment or system availability and
secondly it is potentially risk (Tsang,1995).Principal argument in favour of detailed and integrated

Health Sociological Perspective
HEALTH: A SOCIOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE
An Overview
Dr.Manju Pandey,Assistant Professor,(visiting) SOCIOLOGY
Abstract
This paper contains issues concerning health and its sociological perspective, that how good or bad
health affects our life and relationships. Health is a state of complete well being, physical, mental and
emotional. The objective of this topic is to see how social life affects morbidity and mortality rate, and
vice versa. The sociological perspective of health centralizes on the social effects of attitudes towards
disease, illness, disorder, disability and ageing process. Sociological approaches and psycho wellness
are not two same things. The peculiar emphasis of sociological approach is that how the different

Social groups and cultures, they share, can mould the body s health. Illness is not merely a physical
experience but also a social experience .A biologist illustrates the physical consequences of social
practices that if a society puts half of its children in dresses and skirts but warns them not to move in
ways that reveal underpants, while putting the other half in jeans and overall and encouraging them to
climb tresses and play ball and other active outdoor games. Later during adolescence the half that has
worn trousers is exhorted to eat like a growing boy while half in skirts is warned to watch its weight
and get fat. If the half in jeans trot around in sneakers or boots, while the half in skirts totters about on
spike heels, then these two groups of people will be biologically as well as socially,

The Factors Of Teenage Pregnancy
Teenage pregnancy is normally identified as a deprived life choice, for example, tasks of teenage
parenting have long term impact on the mental health of the mother and children (Statistics New
Zealand, 2003). It is important to identify the socioeconomic factors of teenage pregnancy to lower the
chances of mental health problems in young mothers. In this paper the aim is to analyse the main
socioeconomic factors of teenage pregnancy and discuss how it affects the mental health of an
adolescent mother in New Zealand. This essay will commence by identifying how a lack of education
is considered as a socioeconomic factor associated with teenage pregnancy, followed by the second
theme which will consist of economic circumstances such as, parental unemployment and welfare
dependency. Lastly, this essay will discuss how deficiency of support from family and friends leads to
unstable relationships, which has a huge impact on a teenage mother s mental health. A lack of
education is one of the main socioeconomic factors which impact the mental health of an adolescent
mother. Studies show a number of negative outcomes that are linked with dropping out of school at an
early age. For example, youth that tends to gain fewer educational qualifications are more likely to be
in unstable relationships resulting in a lack of knowledge regarding contraceptive use which leaves
them to deal with economic circumstances (Breheny Stephens, 2008; Friesen, Woodward, Fergusson,

Thomas More Paradox
Thomas More wrote his ideas in 1516 in England. He was the son of a lawyer and had his education at
Oxford. He followed his father s footsteps and turned out to be an excellent lawyer. He became a
respected writer, historian and philosopher as well, and wrote many important books. During this time
he made numerous important friends, such as Desiderius Erasmus, and became an adviser of King
Henry VIII. More was very religious, and a leader of the counter reformation. This was quite a
paradox, since persecuting protestants was about as opposite to the religious tolerance described in
Utopia as it could get. Europe and England were both still based on the feudalistic system in which the
rich nobles had all the power. The life of the poor was

Impvantages And Competitive Advantage
Summary
The article I chose was published in the International Journal of Business and Management. This
article focused was based on how companies gained competitive advantaged and how strategic
information systems help companies create and sustain competitive advantages. To create a basis this
article first described why companies wanted to develop an information system. This article described
the three general types of information systems as financial, operational, and strategic information
systems. The author went in to little detail about each but focused more on the strategic information
system. After going into detail about the strategic information system the authors described how
companies should concentrate on information systems to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Competitive advantage is a product or service that an organizations customers value more highly than
similar offerings from its competitors ( Xu, J., Quaddus, M., 2013 pg. 27). This definition would have
been helpful to its users before going into any theories about competitive advantages. After defining a
competitive advantage the author could stress the importance of a competitive advantage. Include
information such as Competitive advantage is the key to sales success and high profitability. It is
absolutely essential that you are excellent in some specific area that customers value. You have to be
able to say to your customers that, we offer the very best for you in this critical area (Business
Survival 101: Your Competitive Advantage). Then before going into great detail about strategic
information systems explain how technology has changed over the years and how it how affects the
how competitive advantage is viewed from recent years and in present years. Once all the background
information was in place there should have been a comparison between an information systems and a
strategic information system. All background information should have been covered throughout the
introduction of this article. Also there was statement that said Turban et al, sited 12 strategies for
competitive advantage here and we present again turban s literature (Hemmatfar, M.,Ph D., Salehi,
M.,Ph D., Bayat, M.,Ph D.,2010 pg. 161 162) but the authors only listed 11 of the 12 strategies.
Therefore information was missing from this article. Also throughout this article there were many

marketing strategies used by the Dallas Cowboys occurred in 1995, when owner Jerry Jones entered
into multi million dollar sponsorship agreements with American Express, Pepsi and Nike through
Texas Stadium Corporation. Later that year, Jones was served with a $300 million lawsuit filed by
NFL Properties. The lawsuit claims included violations of the Lanham Act, breach of contract, breach
of the implied covenant of good faith, unjust enrichment, and tortious interference with contractual
rights (Jessop, 2013). Jones filed a motion to dismiss. The motion was granted in part. Jones then filed
a $750 million antitrust lawsuit against the league. This legal action put the Cowboys in position to
become the most valuable NFL franchise. Jones antitrust lawsuit forced the NFL to settle (Jessop,
2013). The settlement agreement Jones reached with the NFL allowed Texas Stadium Corporation, to

Federal Government And The United States
Federal Government
The United States of America government is called the federal government and is the republic of the
fifty states which constitute the United States. It also constitutes the capital districts and several other
territories. Now the government is made up of three different branches and they are the Executive,
Legislature, and the Judicial. Those powers are all vested by the US constitution which is in the
congress, the president, and also the federal court that also includes the Supreme Court. The acts of
congress define the duties and powers which concludes the executive departments and courts that are
inferior to the Supreme Court. When you talk about history and the Federal government that means
you can have a long line of topics and information that you could discuss. There s an outline that is
laid out by the government of the united states and that is called the constitution. The government was
formed in the year of 1789 and that makes it the world s first modern constitutional republic. The
United States government is based on two words or you could call them principles and that s
federalism and republicanism, which means the power is shared between the federal government
along with the state governments. Ever since the American Civil War there s been a really big change
in government and has really expanded at a large rate. Even though there s been certain times that the
legislative branch has had dominance and those were events that were

Sports Production Classification
Every live sports production has its ups and downs. The Carson Newman versus Brevard men s
basketball first half was no exception to this. There were five categories that the production of the
broadcast was broken down into; camera angles, camera work, switching, shot selection, and replay.
All of these categories play specific roles into making sure a broadcast goes on successfully. Only
three categories are discussed, as switching and shot selection both fall under the director and there
were no replays used within the first half of this particular production.
The first category that one should look at while critiquing the live sports production is the camera
angles or camera setup. By looking at the camera setup, one is able to better understand ... Show more

Overall the shot selection was well done by keeping the wide angle shot the primary camera so that
the audience could see the flow and rhythm of the game. The use of the hero camera was used
effectively throughout the production of the first half. The hero camera was used most effectively
during player fouls and after shots were made, so that the audience had an idea of who made the
basket or the foul. The hero camera was also used particularly well right before the under twelve
media timeout, in getting a close up shot of the player that committed the foul. The baseline camera
selection really stood out the most during the break away dunks and the inbounds plays on the
baseline. One shot that stood out was the opening lineups were the director switched from the wide
shot to the hero shot, so that the audience could visually tell who the starters were for each team.
There was a very well done transitional switch from the director at the 17:50 mark, the Brevard player
grabs the rebound and goes coast to coast with the basketball. The director did a great job with
choosing the student section baseline camera and then switching back to the primary camera to finish
off the play. Another great use of switching came during the under sixteen timeout, the director made
sure to transition from shot to shot, in order for the audience to get the full grasp of what was going on
within the building. Another great shot came from the 14:25 mark in the game when the audience gets
the close up of the official handing the ball to the player for an inbounds play on the far side of the
court. There were some instances throughout the production that were sub par or did not transition as
well. The opening tip was a great example as the director starts out with the wide shot, then goes to a
back court shot, then back to the wide shot, then to the baseline shot. This was

Ambition Vs Vanity
Philippians 2:3 4 says Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or vanity, each of you should, in
humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself. Each of you should be
concerned not only about your own interests, but about the interests of others as well. God has told us
to focus on the humility of others and not our own. These days people are devoting their lives to
unholy things and events, instead of pouring their soul into something pure and good for mankind. If
we live life egotistical and greedy, people will separate instead of coming together as one. Machiavelli

The Day of the Locust Essay
Nathanael West s The Day of the Locust tells the story of people who have come to California in
search of the American Dream. They travel west hoping to escape less than perfect lives and pursue
success in
Hollywood. The characters in this novel dream of a life of luxury, having lots of money, and living
happily ever after. They eventually come to the realization that the seemingly picture perfect life that
California represents is not as easy to attain as they once thought. The characters in The Day of the

those in search of materialistic success.
Todd s failed efforts to gain the love of Faye Greener characterize his downfall and failure to aspire to

famous among the movie scene in Hollywood. Her beauty and allure are only surpassed by her
rapaciousness and materialism. A dim cognizance of these traits lead her to blame herself for her
father s death. I killed him (122), Faye exclaims realizing that she had once informed him that if he
could not buy her what she wanted that she would leave him to find someone who could. As Faye
faces her guilt for her father s demise, she furthermore sacrifices her moral beliefs when she works as
a prostitute to afford her father s funeral. Miss Greener s life strays more distant from her dreams as
she finds herself being sucked deeper into the Hollywood world of sex, drugs, and deceit. Faye s
selfishness not only shatters her dreams, but correspondingly plays with the emotions and lives of
others. Her constant flirting leads to fights between Earle Shoop and Miquel, eventually transforming
two friends into loathing ememies. At the same time, she drives Homer Simpson to madness. Faye

Lack Of Rest-Time In Sports-Related Concussions
More than 300,000 sports related concussions occur per year. Most athletes recover from head
injuries, like concussions, if they take the time to properly manage the injury. Injured athletes should

of rest time may lead to multiple concussions, permanent brain damage, and loss of memory or focus.
Athletes need rest time in order to get back on the field in the future. Most athletes want to play their

Sign Language, Cochlear Implants And Turns Others Essay
Sign language, cochlear implants, or both? It is the debate that has plagued parents of young deaf
children all over nation. They are torn with the decision between potentially restoring the hearing of
their child or immersing them in the beauty of Deaf culture. It seems that no matter what decision they
make, there will be backlash. The Deaf community feels like a member is being taken away from
them, and hearing people cannot understand why someone wouldn t want their child to have the
ability to hear. Though we cannot fully understand what it is like to be faced with this choice unless
we have been in this position, we can explore the pros and cons of either side. So what is it that leads
to some parents to make the leap for cochlear implants and turns others towards the sign language
side? To fully understand why this is a popular debate, we must first explore Deaf culture. Dr. Beth
Sonnenstrahl Benedict from the Hands and Voices organization states that The American Deaf
community values American Sign Language as the core of a culturally Deaf identity (Benedict par 1).
Language is a crucial aspect of a culture, and American Sign Language unifies the Deaf community.
Although it is often dismissed as a language, ASL has its own unique sentence structure and
vocabulary that make it different from English or any other foreign language. Many believe that
allowing a deaf child to learn sign language is essential to them embracing their deafness as well as

The Beggar s Opera Essay
The Beggars Opera by John Gay was written in 1728 as a response to the political state in London.
Gay moved to London with no expectation of writing a satirical musical. Coming from no money, no
title, and no useful contacts he tried to find his own destiny. He took a job as an apprentice to a silk
merchant in an attempt to build his status. After realizing that he did not want to pursue a career in
silk, he moved on to working in a theater. He was then offered a jobs working for different nobilities
in London, gaining substantial connections with various members of the arts community. Through his
time with the upper crust of London, he noticed a flaw in society. His view on the upper class along
with his connections, his love for music, and his ability to write poetry led to the writing of The
Beggar s Opera. By definition a musical has five essential elements: music and lyrics, a book/libretto,
choreography, staging, and a physical production. If this is the true standard of a musical, then I
believe The Beggar s Opera by John Gay is the first musical. First, various composers wrote the music
for The Beggar s Opera because it was really just a collection of songs that have been previously
written with new lyrics. The show contains sixty nine songs, of those songs forty one of them ... Show

The Parthenon Sculptures
The British Government have an obligation to give back the Parthenon Sculptures in the British
Museum back to the Greek government. This is due to the importance the Statues have in Greek
Culture, the importance of having the Acropolis once again united, and the high level of evidence
supporting the claim that the British stole the statues. This essay will aim to explain each of these
points, a well as the British Rebuttals. Not only this, but a recount will be made on the attempt made
by myself and a classmate as we attempted to replicate this debate and negotiate for a peaceful
outcome.
Since 1983, after the transition from Post Civil War Greece to the Modern Day Democratic Greece,
the Greek Government has demanded the return of its ancient Parthenon Sculptures from the British
Museum in London. After Greece regained its independence and government, it has demanded for the
stolen statues to be returned to Greece so they can be united with the rest of the Parthenon and the
Acropolis. Not only this, but the Greeks put the legality of the British s taking of the statues under
question, stating it was through secrecy and conspiracy this was achieved. The British argue that under
law, they legally bought the statues from the Ottomans (The then rulers of Greece) in 1811 with Lord
Elgin. Not only this, but they state that they wish to preserve the statues in London, to showcase to the
world mankind s greatest achievements. While both sides offer valid and tenacious arguments,

Social Media Marketing Communication Marketing
Social Media Marketing Communication
Overview
As seen in product marketing, successful marketing requires organizations to think outside of the box
and find new ways to communicate to their consumers. The majority of consumers utilize social
media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube; organizations must exploit their marketing
techniques on these sites in order to maximize their advertising range (Adis, Ing, Osman, Razli, Pang,
Sondoh, Majid, 2015). Not to mention, social media marketing has become more popular because of
its cost effectiveness and efficiency in reaching and engaging with consumers (Castronovo Huang,
2012). For this reason, social networking is becoming a necessity, according to St. Clergy (2012),
Nearly four in five active Internet users visit social networks and blogs...Americans spend more time
on Facebook than they do on any other U.S. website, and Internet users over 55 are driving the growth
of social networking through the mobile Internet. (St. Clergy, 2012, para. 2)
Known as the horizontal revolution, information no longer flows vertically from big companies to the
rest of the world, consumers have become marketing tools as well. Unfortunately, organizations are
unable to control the message that consumers are communicating (Bruce Solomon, 2013); however,
they can use social media to assure their audiences of the company s commitment to the consumer s
satisfaction.

disadvantage, anxiety related concerns are the most common presented problems for adolescents with
ASD. High rates of diagnosed comorbid anxiety related pathologies have been found in people
diagnosed with ASD: 55% in a 2006 study, and 42% in a 2008 study (de Bruin et al., 2006); (Simonoff
et al., 2008). Both physiological concerns, such as hyperarousal, and social deficits may influence the
high prevalence of social anxiety in children with ASD (White et al., 2010). Nonetheless, many Axis I
anxiety disorders, social phobia and obsessive compulsive disorders, are often undiagnosed in people
with ASD since the symptoms can be explained by ASD itself. Other disorders, such as ADHD, cannot
explicitly be diagnosed in children and teens with autism, since it is difficult to differentiate between
inattention and/or overactivity as a symptom of ASD or another comorbid pathology (White et al.,
2009). In general, however, there is a high

Hold Me By The Heart Rhetorical Analysis
Most Girls by Hailee Steinfeld and Hold Me By The Heart by Kehlani both make the listener feel
what the artist feels; however, Most Girls is a female empowerment anthem, while Hold Me By The
Heart is about healing from an unhealthy relationship.
On the first song, Hailee makes you feel exactly what the message of the song is saying. It expresses
girls as strong, powerful, fierce, smart and focused. Even if you are not one of those types of girls, it
gives you some type of motivation to be one of them. The song brings out this message to bring
confidence, value to the girls that are so focused on their own life, and have goals for themselves. On
the other hand, Kehlani makes you feel her painful story through her lyrics and her voice. The ... Show

To become a girl who strives to be the best, celebrating life. It celebrates all types of girls and declares
that all women have the ability to do so much, and that they are much more valuable than what society
says. And that is what makes a girl look attractive. The song describes how Hailee as the artist wants
to be like Most Girls who aren t quitters, who look the prettiest in sweatpants, who want to succeed
and keep living life without looking back. And what she wants to show is being like those type of girls
is the definition of sexy. However, Hold Me By The Heart is more of a slow song accompanied by a
spanish guitar flow that through her lyrics and her smooth, passionate voice she expresses the help she
needs to get back up and start over. She illustrates a lot of her feeling as she reveals how she thought
fairytale love would come to her, but through the pain she realized it was only beautiful for some. She
shows off her feelings when she gets to the chorus with a smooth voice, yet so passionate when she
gets to her main point of the song saying, Pick up the pieces, Help me learn to stand, Lift me from the
ground and use your hands. She explains meeting someone so quick that picked her up and since he s
there she s asking to be taught how to stand up, how to be whole, pick her up from the

Stained Glass
Stained glass was made during the Gothic period of art history. In the center of the program is the
Virgin Mary, enthroned and crowned. The crown means that she is the Queen of Heaven. Cruciform
nimbuses/halos frame the heads of both her and the Christ child. This is an indicator of their divinity.
Mary s foot is resting on a stool that is covered by a rug. The throne is held up by the pillars that are
held by the angels beneath it. In the segment above Mary s head is a dove representing the presence of
the Holy Spirit. The Christ child sits on Mary s lap. In his left hand, he is holding an open book with a
quote from Isaiah from the Old Testament; his right hand is raised in blessing. The quote is Every
valley shall be exalted. This refers to the leveling of lands and the creation of roads for the coming of
the Messiah, Jesus Christ. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The censer was used by the priest to bless icons. Two angels on both sides of Christ hold candles
symbolic of Christ as holy illumination. The Three Temptations of Christ by the devil are shown the
bottom three segments as a symbol of Christ s humanity. In the six segments on top, Jesus is shown
performing his first miracle at the Wedding in Cana with the help of Mary s intercession. His miracle
was the first of seven signs in John s Gospel through which Jesus attained divine status and therefore,
has symbolic importance of his divinity. When the wedding runs out of wine, Christ tells Mary that he
will turn the water into wine. Mary tells the waiter not to question Christ and to bring the water. Christ
turns water to wine at the wedding. The wine is a symbol of Christ s blood, a part of the Eucharist, and

Exploring Existentialism
Sartre s belief you are the sole author of your own existence stands true. Glaspell s Trifles uses

Trifles uses feminism to exemplify Sartre s position. Glaspell illustrates socially superior men who
order the women to remain downstairs while the men investigate, thereby highlighting the women s
inferior societal status; Glaspell further instills the female subjugation as the men use their own last
names to summon the housewives (i.e. Mrs. Hale, Mrs. Wright), rather than using the women s
individual first names. Therefore, Glaspell s women make the ... Show more content on

Eliot depicts Prufrock s personal reminiscence, Prufrock notes his decisions and revisions and further
revisions, which stand as the protagonist s fundamental remembrances as important choices inscribing
his tabula rosa and formulating his essence. Additionally, Eliot presents his meager man choosing to
avoid choice, which ironically reflects a profound choice; clearly, Prufrock chooses indecision and,
thereby, molds his psychologically painful and hesitant essence. However, a dichotomy does exist.
Perhaps, Eliot rejects Sartre s position you are the sole author of your own existence since Eliot
depicts vacuous, pseudo intellectual women who talk shallowly of Michelangelo, rather than using the
powerful freedom to choose and self define. However, this perspective rings erroneous since the
women, much like Camus Sisyphean understanding, own and choose to live this vacuous life, thereby
constructing their own fulfilling essence. If I could talk to Sartre today, I would ask him the following:
I m a sixteen year old orthodox Jew and religion hounds my ability to choose. My parents, school
Rabbis, pulpit Rabbi, synagogue Cantor, and inflexible religious laws squeeze my future s trajectory
into a narrow, straight path, so how can I possibly sculpt my own essence? Iron blue and white (the
Israeli flag) chains confine my meager freedom to choose and deadbolt other views and paths. I
suppose I can still make some choices, even though my freedom to do so

How To Write An Essay On Alex Rider
Alex Rider was an ordinary boy who lived in London. His life was normal, until he found out his
uncles dies. He found out he died then had been recruited to be a spy by Ian Rider s Boss. He was a
normal boy. He had short cut hair, deep brown eyes, and was extremely athletic. He had a kind
personality, was smart, and had took karate classes since he was a little boy. He was a brave kid. He
done many things like battling a few bikers that were trying to run him over. It all started when the
bank had offered him a job to continue and FINISH his uncles mission. Due to this he had many
important events like, finding the tunnels to a secret lab and almost getting run over by two bikers.
One of the most important events in this book was when he escaped the Psysalia Psysalia s tank after
being trapped in there cause of Nadia Vole . Without escaping the tank he would have never destroyed
the Stormbreaker, which obviously made him glad for finishing his mission. He also shot the prime
minister and Sayle. One of the most daring things he did was jump out of an office window on a

The United States Political System
Mankind has always undergone trends in a cyclical manor. However, as society presses forward, the
relative minima and maxima tend to break the threshold at an increasing rate meaning that what would
be considered normal is shortly lived. Today we live in a society where factions divide the nation in
their plight to achieve an organized force of ideas. The Political parties of the modern era have
become far more organized and are no longer looking to support ideas but are ever hungry to maintain
and gain political power rather than represent a people s voice. Our democratic republic relies on the
organized and informed voter to maintain a balance of control between the people and the
government. This is argued in Thomas Edison s 10th federalist paper in which he states, If a faction
consists of less than a majority, relief is supplied by the republican principle, which enables the
majority to defeat its sinister views by regular vote... it will be unable to execute and mask its violence
under the forms of the Constitution. When a majority is included in a faction, the form of popular
government, on the other hand, enables it to sacrifice to its ruling passion or interest both the public
good and the rights of other citizens. To secure the public good and private rights against the danger of
such a faction, and at the same time to preserve the spirit and the form of popular government, is then
the great object to which our inquiries are directed... Here we see the need for

Comparing Rembrandt And Eakins s Anatomy Of Dr. Tulp
Introduction: Rembrandt and Eakins The similarities, and differences, between Rembrandt
Harmenszoon van Rijn s Anatomy of Dr. Tulp (1632) and Thomas Eakins The Agnew Clinic (1889)
are both uncanny and unprecedented. Painted in 1630 s Amsterdam during the Dutch Baroque period,
Rembrandt sought to preserve the rare occasion in which a real human body was used as an academic
tool in order to prove anatomy theories. On the contrary, Eakins piece was painted in 19th century
America during the realist movement to memorialize a retiring professor. However, it is their
similarities that make them comparable; they were both commissioned by academic institutions, they
both depict a surgery in progress, they both celebrate the careers of notable ... Show more content on

The subject of the yearly autopsy was always a criminal who had just been executed for their crimes,
and autopsies had to be performed immediately due to the time sensitive process of the decaying
corpse. Rather morbid in his interpretation of the event, Rembrandt sought to reproduce the curiosity
and surprise he witnessed through the use of an asymmetrical pyramid so that no face is hidden. This
sort of asymmetry is characteristic of the Baroque period.
There is no truer adaptation of a Baroque painting than this. During this time there were great
revelations of science which catapulted further interest in the sciences. The Anatomy Lesson of Dr.
Tulp portrays a scientific discovery. As Dr. Beth Harris points out and as seen in Fig. 3, Dr. Tulp s left
hand is moving in a way that would show how the tendons of the dissected hand would work
(Smarthistory, 2015). Additionally, Baroque period artists often sought realism in portraits, with an
attention to physical details, and a focus on the dramatic including the contrast between light and
shadow and the use of rich, deep colors (MindEdge 2.01). A real test of its time, this portrait is almost
photo like in its adaption of realism and the physical detail exemplified through the facial expressions
of the onlookers. Furthermore, Rembrandt sought to emphasize the action depicted in this portrait
through by almost illuminating the corpse

Social Responsibility Of A Business
Introduction Cohen wrote extensively on the work of Drucker especially in the areas of business and
nonprofit management. However, Cohen s article on social responsibility drew a lot attention from
other scholars like Friedman. In view of this, this paper will discuss and define the concept of social
responsibility of a business to its workers, stakeholders, and society; how the perspectives align with
that of Drucker; comparing Cohen s opinion with that of Friedman and finally determines which of the
two individual s opinion best aligns with the current business climate promoting a green environment.
Concept of social responsibility According to Cohen (2009), the concept of social responsibility entail
that every organization must assume the full responsibility for its impact on employees, the
environment, customers, and whomever and whatever it touches (p. 31). On the other hand, Murphy
(2009) explains that social responsibility pertains to an entity s ability to respond to a person, situation
or issue in a certain way (p. 245). Comparatively, Carroll Buchholtz (2003) revealed that the concept
of social responsibility means that organizations have moral, ethical, and philanthropic responsibilities
in addition to their responsibilities to earn fair return for investors and comply with the law (p. 36).
This means that the society will look for major organizations where profits and nonprofit could be
derived to take care of some of the ills in the society.

Essay On Indentured Servants
Indentured Servitude as a Catalyst for Colonial Success The colonies were better able to adapt to the
New World and all of its trials through the use of indentured servants. Indentured servitude gave
colonists access to the new freedoms they may not have had otherwise in Britain while giving colonies
such as Virginia a chance at success. The New World involved challenges that the colonists never
could have imagined including but not limited to disease, crop differences, and Native Americans with
very different lifestyles. Colonial Growth by means of Indentured Servants Over half of the white
immigrants that arrived to the British Colonies were able to make the passage through agreeing to
indentured servitude. Indentured servants exchanged several years of labor for the cost of passage to
America and the grant of land. During the seventeenth century, indentured servants provided most of
the labor in British America. Unanticipated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Virginia where tobacco was a prominent crop, large planters bought up fertile lands, which left very
little options for freed servants. A large majority of freed servants during this time had to choose
between becoming a tenant of a planter and buying less fertile land. Decline in Indentured Servitude
With the beginnings of colonies such as New England, the need for indentured servitude throughout
British America began to decline. In New England a large portion of the settlers were middle class.
Besides even the class level of those who settled in New England, the area was a much easier place to
settle as the labor required as well as the weather was much more mild. The strongest portions of
weather was the cold climate which ultimately helped to fend off some disease and illness that may
have otherwise plagued settlers as it did in many other colony beginnings. Long Term Slave

Examples Of 7 Habits Of Highly Effective Teens
Seven Habits Essay
Sean Covey s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is intended as a guide to help teens improve
themselves and become successful in life. Its primary focuses are how to take control of your life, set
and achieve goals, build friendships, maintain quality relationships, withstand peer pressure, and
improve self image. It consists of seven habits Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First
Things First, Think Win Win, Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood, Synergize, and
Sharpen the saw. These habits are each designed to help you lead your best life. From this book, I have
learned to take care of and love myself, maintain healthy relationships with others, work towards my
goals, and resist anything that could potentially harm me or prevent me from doing these things.
The first habit portrayed in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is Be Proactive. Being proactive
means taking responsibility of your life and thinking before you act. As the book states, Proactive
people are aware that they can t control everything that happens to them, but they can control what
they do about it. The opposite of being proactive is being reactive, which is what the book is trying to
steer you away from. Reactive people act on feelings and don t take the time to assess the situation.
This habit has taught me that how you react to situations determines the outcome. Even if the situation
is negative, if you are proactive and have a good, responsible

A Change Of The Subway By A New York City
The way people react to different environments reflect upon characteristics of their identity. These
surroundings can ignite feelings and emotions, which may urge an individual to react and reveal traits
of his or her personality. In Gladwell s essay, a change in New York City was ignited when Bernie
Goetz was asked for money on the subway by young men, who were later shot by him. Gladwell s
explanation of Goetz s incident detailed how The Tipping Point in this epidemic, though isn t a
particular kind of person...It s something physical like graffiti. The impetus to engage in a certain kind
of behavior is not coming from a certain kind of person but from a feature of the environment (152).
Gladwell claims that Goetz shot the men due to the graffiti and the environment, rather than the four
young men who asked him for money. When Goetz reacted due to his environment, he was able to
portray characteristics of his identity, such how he felt about his environment and how perhaps his
background, may have prompted him to react. Goetz was a product of his environment because he
allowed his environment to control him. While Goetz allowed his environment to control him, the
women in Nafisi s group broke away from their environment to create a new identity. In the world
outside of Nafisi s apartment, the government acts as a strict behavior which prevents the women from
expressing their true selves. When Nafisi s students come to her apartment, they do not have to adhere

California s Gold Rush
Gold! Gold! Gold from the American River! shouted Samuel Brannan, a newspaper publicist from San
Francisco, following the discovery of gold in California (Rhodes 168). This event sparked a new era
of immigration to California in 1848. The gold rush began on January 24, 1848 when gold was found
by James Marshall, a foreman for John Sutter, at Sutter s Mill in Coloma, California (Bancroft 32).
Initially the news was kept a secret due to the risk of a massive wave of gold seekers interfering with
Sutter s land and agricultural plans. However, by March of 1848, Samuel Brannan s flamboyant
confirmation to the rumors created the California gold rush. Hordes of people from around the world
traveled to California in search for gold and success. San Francisco s population exponentially grew
from a small settlement of about 200 residents in 1846 to a city of about 36,000 by 1852 (Johnson 12
14). As news spread, the event became known worldwide. The gold rush in California was a vital
event that became the basis for the social and economic boom that subsequently fashioned global
fame, an influx of settlers and, as a result, the 31st addition to the union as The Golden State .
California s gold rush began on March 1848. Just two months prior, gold was discovered in Sutter s
mill. The news was never meant to spread over anywhere else but, to their dismay, the news for gold
discovered was far too immense to be kept a secret for too long. As rumors circulated then were
confirmed,

  • 2. Reliability Analysis Some researchers argue that the cost of spares is always an area where cost reduction can be of significant. With the help of suppliers and equipment vendors, purchasing department can place orders in the form of contracts or Service level agreement (SLA) that guarantee delivery lead times for the designated inventory items. It makes business sense to shift the risk concerning the cost of maintaining the inventory to the suppliers. Reliability is the probability that the plant will perform its intended function satisfactory under specified environmental and operating conditions (British standard, 2012). Reliability is the probability that the system is operating satisfactory at any given time and it depends on the reliability and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yan et al (2008) Ebeling (1997), pointed out the purpose of maintenance is to extend equipment life and minimise the frequency of service interruption. Ebeling (1997) concluded that availability is the important index of the all indices for power availability. Several maintenance types or tactics have been suggested by many authors for example (Mowbray, 1991 and Kelly, 1997). There are mainly two types of maintenance practices and these are breakdown and preventive maintenance. Breakdown maintenance requires replacement of damaged part of the equipment during unscheduled maintenance while preventive maintenance requires replacement of the components at pre determined intervals. Condition based maintenance is used to monitor the condition of the equipment using condition monitoring technique. There is a general belief that corrective maintenance is less economical than preventive maintenance, and all failures can then be prevented. This approach to preventive maintenance firstly wastes a lot of resources in doing unnecessary tasks which will not improve equipment or system availability and secondly it is potentially risk (Tsang,1995).Principal argument in favour of detailed and integrated asset information system that is accurate and unchallenged information is available to anyone with skills to analyse and interpret it for the benefit of a company (Sherwin, 2000).Predictive scheduling relies more on ... Later during adolescence the half that has worn trousers is exhorted to eat like a growing boy while half in skirts is warned to watch its weight and get fat. • 4. The Factors Of Teenage Pregnancy Teenage pregnancy is normally identified as a deprived life choice, for example, tasks of teenage parenting have long term impact on the mental health of the mother and children (Statistics New Zealand, 2003). It is important to identify the socioeconomic factors of teenage pregnancy to lower the chances of mental health problems in young mothers. In this paper the aim is to analyse the main socioeconomic factors of teenage pregnancy and discuss how it affects the mental health of an adolescent mother in New Zealand. This essay will commence by identifying how a lack of education is considered as a socioeconomic factor associated with teenage pregnancy, followed by the second theme which will consist of economic circumstances such as, parental unemployment and welfare dependency. Lastly, this essay will discuss how deficiency of support from family and friends leads to unstable relationships, which has a huge impact on a teenage mother s mental health. A lack of education is one of the main socioeconomic factors which impact the mental health of an adolescent mother. Studies show a number of negative outcomes that are linked with dropping out of school at an early age. For example, youth that tends to gain fewer educational qualifications are more likely to be in unstable relationships resulting in a lack of knowledge regarding contraceptive use which leaves them to deal with economic circumstances (Breheny Stephens, 2008; Friesen, Woodward, Fergusson, Horwood, ... • 5. Thomas More Paradox Thomas More wrote his ideas in 1516 in England. He was the son of a lawyer and had his education at Oxford. He followed his father s footsteps and turned out to be an excellent lawyer. He became a respected writer, historian and philosopher as well, and wrote many important books. During this time he made numerous important friends, such as Desiderius Erasmus, and became an adviser of King Henry VIII. More was very religious, and a leader of the counter reformation. This was quite a paradox, since persecuting protestants was about as opposite to the religious tolerance described in Utopia as it could get. Europe and England were both still based on the feudalistic system in which the rich nobles had all the power. The life of the poor was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This article focused was based on how companies gained competitive advantaged and how strategic information systems help companies create and sustain competitive advantages. To create a basis this article first described why companies wanted to develop an information system. This article described the three general types of information systems as financial, operational, and strategic information systems. The author went in to little detail about each but focused more on the strategic information system. After going into detail about the strategic information system the authors described how companies should concentrate on information systems to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Competitive advantage is a product or service that an organizations customers value more highly than similar offerings from its competitors ( Xu, J., Quaddus, M., 2013 pg. 27). This definition would have been helpful to its users before going into any theories about competitive advantages. After defining a competitive advantage the author could stress the importance of a competitive advantage. Include information such as Competitive advantage is the key to sales success and high profitability. It is absolutely essential that you are excellent in some specific area that customers value. You have to be able to say to your customers that, we offer the very best for you in this critical area (Business Survival 101: Your Competitive Advantage). Then before going into great detail about strategic information systems explain how technology has changed over the years and how it how affects the how competitive advantage is viewed from recent years and in present years. Once all the background information was in place there should have been a comparison between an information systems and a strategic information system. Later that year, Jones was served with a $300 million lawsuit filed by NFL Properties. The lawsuit claims included violations of the Lanham Act, breach of contract, breach of the implied covenant of good faith, unjust enrichment, and tortious interference with contractual rights (Jessop, 2013). • 8. Federal Government And The United States Federal Government The United States of America government is called the federal government and is the republic of the fifty states which constitute the United States. It also constitutes the capital districts and several other territories. Now the government is made up of three different branches and they are the Executive, Legislature, and the Judicial. Those powers are all vested by the US constitution which is in the congress, the president, and also the federal court that also includes the Supreme Court. The acts of congress define the duties and powers which concludes the executive departments and courts that are inferior to the Supreme Court. When you talk about history and the Federal government that means you can have a long line of topics and information that you could discuss. There s an outline that is laid out by the government of the united states and that is called the constitution. The government was formed in the year of 1789 and that makes it the world s first modern constitutional republic. The United States government is based on two words or you could call them principles and that s federalism and republicanism, which means the power is shared between the federal government along with the state governments. • 9. Sports Production Classification Every live sports production has its ups and downs. The Carson Newman versus Brevard men s basketball first half was no exception to this. There were five categories that the production of the broadcast was broken down into; camera angles, camera work, switching, shot selection, and replay. All of these categories play specific roles into making sure a broadcast goes on successfully. Only three categories are discussed, as switching and shot selection both fall under the director and there were no replays used within the first half of this particular production. The first category that one should look at while critiquing the live sports production is the camera angles or camera setup. By looking at the camera setup, one is able to better understand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Overall the shot selection was well done by keeping the wide angle shot the primary camera so that the audience could see the flow and rhythm of the game. The use of the hero camera was used effectively throughout the production of the first half. The hero camera was used most effectively during player fouls and after shots were made, so that the audience had an idea of who made the basket or the foul. The hero camera was also used particularly well right before the under twelve media timeout, in getting a close up shot of the player that committed the foul. The baseline camera selection really stood out the most during the break away dunks and the inbounds plays on the baseline. One shot that stood out was the opening lineups were the director switched from the wide shot to the hero shot, so that the audience could visually tell who the starters were for each team. There was a very well done transitional switch from the director at the 17:50 mark, the Brevard player grabs the rebound and goes coast to coast with the basketball. The director did a great job with choosing the student section baseline camera and then switching back to the primary camera to finish off the play. Another great use of switching came during the under sixteen timeout, the director made sure to transition from shot to shot, in order for the audience to get the full grasp of what was going on within the building. Another great shot came from the 14:25 mark in the game when the audience gets the close up of the official handing the ball to the player for an inbounds play on the far side of the court. There were some instances throughout the production that were sub par or did not transition as well. The opening tip was a great example as the director starts out with the wide shot, then goes to a back court shot, then back to the wide shot, then to the baseline shot. This was ... Ambition Vs Vanity Philippians 2:3 4 says Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself. Each of you should be concerned not only about your own interests, but about the interests of others as well. God has told us to focus on the humility of others and not our own. These days people are devoting their lives to unholy things and events, instead of pouring their soul into something pure and good for mankind. • 19. The Beggar s Opera Essay The Beggars Opera by John Gay was written in 1728 as a response to the political state in London. Gay moved to London with no expectation of writing a satirical musical. Coming from no money, no title, and no useful contacts he tried to find his own destiny. He took a job as an apprentice to a silk merchant in an attempt to build his status. After realizing that he did not want to pursue a career in silk, he moved on to working in a theater. He was then offered a jobs working for different nobilities in London, gaining substantial connections with various members of the arts community. Through his time with the upper crust of London, he noticed a flaw in society. His view on the upper class along with his connections, his love for music, and his ability to write poetry led to the writing of The Beggar s Opera. By definition a musical has five essential elements: music and lyrics, a book/libretto, choreography, staging, and a physical production. Social Media Marketing Communication Marketing Social Media Marketing Communication Overview As seen in product marketing, successful marketing requires organizations to think outside of the box and find new ways to communicate to their consumers. The majority of consumers utilize social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube; organizations must exploit their marketing techniques on these sites in order to maximize their advertising range (Adis, Ing, Osman, Razli, Pang, Sondoh, Majid, 2015). Not to mention, social media marketing has become more popular because of its cost effectiveness and efficiency in reaching and engaging with consumers (Castronovo Huang, 2012). For this reason, social networking is becoming a necessity, according to St. Clergy (2012), Nearly four in five active Internet users visit social networks and blogs...Americans spend more time on Facebook than they do on any other U.S. website, and Internet users over 55 are driving the growth of social networking through the mobile Internet. (St. Clergy, 2012, para. 2) Known as the horizontal revolution, information no longer flows vertically from big companies to the rest of the world, consumers have become marketing tools as well. Painted in 1630 s Amsterdam during the Dutch Baroque period, Rembrandt sought to preserve the rare occasion in which a real human body was used as an academic tool in order to prove anatomy theories. On the contrary, Eakins piece was painted in 19th century America during the realist movement to memorialize a retiring professor. However, Cohen s article on social responsibility drew a lot attention from other scholars like Friedman. In view of this, this paper will discuss and define the concept of social responsibility of a business to its workers, stakeholders, and society; how the perspectives align with that of Drucker; comparing Cohen s opinion with that of Friedman and finally determines which of the two individual s opinion best aligns with the current business climate promoting a green environment. Concept of social responsibility According to Cohen (2009), the concept of social responsibility entail that every organization must assume the full responsibility for its impact on employees, the environment, customers, and whomever and whatever it touches (p. 31). On the other hand, Murphy (2009) explains that social responsibility pertains to an entity s ability to respond to a person, situation or issue in a certain way (p. 245). Comparatively, Carroll Buchholtz (2003) revealed that the concept of social responsibility means that organizations have moral, ethical, and philanthropic responsibilities in addition to their responsibilities to earn fair return for investors and comply with the law (p. 36). This means that the society will look for major organizations where profits and nonprofit could be derived to take care of some of the ills in the society. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The New World involved challenges that the colonists never could have imagined including but not limited to disease, crop differences, and Native Americans with very different lifestyles. Colonial Growth by means of Indentured Servants Over half of the white immigrants that arrived to the British Colonies were able to make the passage through agreeing to indentured servitude. Indentured servants exchanged several years of labor for the cost of passage to America and the grant of land. During the seventeenth century, indentured servants provided most of the labor in British America. Unanticipated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Virginia where tobacco was a prominent crop, large planters bought up fertile lands, which left very little options for freed servants. A large majority of freed servants during this time had to choose between becoming a tenant of a planter and buying less fertile land. Decline in Indentured Servitude With the beginnings of colonies such as New England, the need for indentured servitude throughout British America began to decline. In New England a large portion of the settlers were middle class. Besides even the class level of those who settled in New England, the area was a much easier place to settle as the labor required as well as the weather was much more mild. The strongest portions of weather was the cold climate which ultimately helped to fend off some disease and illness that may have otherwise plagued settlers as it did in many other colony beginnings. • 36. A Change Of The Subway By A New York City The way people react to different environments reflect upon characteristics of their identity. These surroundings can ignite feelings and emotions, which may urge an individual to react and reveal traits of his or her personality. In Gladwell s essay, a change in New York City was ignited when Bernie Goetz was asked for money on the subway by young men, who were later shot by him. • 37. California s Gold Rush Gold! Gold! Gold from the American River! shouted Samuel Brannan, a newspaper publicist from San Francisco, following the discovery of gold in California (Rhodes 168). This event sparked a new era of immigration to California in 1848. The gold rush began on January 24, 1848 when gold was found by James Marshall, a foreman for John Sutter, at Sutter s Mill in Coloma, California (Bancroft 32). Initially the news was kept a secret due to the risk of a massive wave of gold seekers interfering with Sutter s land and agricultural plans. However, by March of 1848, Samuel Brannan s flamboyant confirmation to the rumors created the California gold rush. Hordes of people from around the world traveled to California in search for gold and success. San Francisco s population exponentially grew from a small settlement of about 200 residents in 1846 to a city of about 36,000 by 1852 (Johnson 12 14). As news spread, the event became known worldwide. The gold rush in California was a vital event that became the basis for the social and economic boom that subsequently fashioned global fame, an influx of settlers and, as a result, the 31st addition to the union as The Golden State . California s gold rush began on March 1848. Just two months prior, gold was discovered in Sutter s mill. As rumors circulated then were confirmed, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
