Introduction of Shingles
If you have had chickenpox during your childhood, it is sure that the virus has stayed in your system
for numerous of years. But the virus has then been reactivated in later life, and that s what causes the
skin disease called Shingles, to develop. As well as chickenpox, there are other diseases which
weakens our immune system. For example, HIV and/or AIDS can also cause Shingles to develop.
Shingles is not considered a life threatening virus, but can become quite painful. Shingles is an
extraordinarily painful condition that involves inflammation of sensory nerves.

Dance Persuasive Essay
As a former competitive dancer, I know that the best part about dance for children is also the worst
part for the parents: costumes. For the kids, costumes are exciting and are a symbol of all the hard
work they put into their training this year. However, for parents, costumes are a financial burden
added on after paying a years worth of tutition costs.
What if I told you there was a way for you to please both your students and their parents and get high
quality costumes at affordable prices? It sounds to good to be true, but that s exactly what we do at
Costumes On Call.
Background, Problem, and Purpose Costumes On Call is a dance costume rental system that allows
you to rent the latest costumes for your dancers at a fraction of their retail value. For the past three
years, we have been provide studio owners, like yourself, with a new choice when selecting costumes
for performances.
We understand that buying costumes can be a tedious task for you as the studio owner. Not only does
it take time to sift through costume catalogues to find a piece that speaks to your dances vision, but
you also need to consider the costs. Costumes can cost upwards of $75 each, which isn t too steep of a
charge for a child in one class. However, most children take anywhere from 2 to 10 classes a year.
That does not include dancers who are part of the competition team, who can perform an additional 10
dances per season. The worst part about costumes isn t their lofty price tags, it

Competitive Cycles Of Cognitive Communication
The third phase is conflict interaction, which is the parties response to a perceived conflict which is
made up of communication, of interactive cycles of messages, responses, and counter responses
(Conrad Poole, 1998). Once these cycles commence the outcome is not in the control of one
participant, but parties make choices about how they respond based off of clues that they get from the
other s communication (Conrad Poole, 1998). The interaction between Allison, Craig, and Penelope
shows this cycle of conflict interaction.
The first part of this interactive cycle is when Allison first message Craig on Tuesday to ask him for
help while explaining that Penelope treating her like a subordinate which is creating an unproductive
work environment. Next, Craig responds to the message by trying to set up a meeting the three of
them, but Penelope is the only one who can meet and alerts Craig that she wants to talk to him about
Allison s erratic performance. Craig and Penelope meet, and discussed how there is tension between
Allison and Penelope. Allison s counter response to her interpretation Craig s meeting with Penelope
is her Thursday email, about how she felt disturbed, explains a past conflict, and then threatens to
consider alternate employment.
As shown above the interactive cycles have become trapped in escalating cycles of competitive
communication. Through Allison s interpretation of Craig and Penelope s meeting, she has started to
turn the productive interaction

Essay on Divine Intellect in Dante s Inferno
Divine Intellect in Dante s Inferno
In Canto XI of Dante s Inferno, Virgil carefully explains the layout of hell to his student, Dante.
Toward the end of his speech, Virgil says that Sodom and Cahors are speak[ing] in passionate
contempt of God, (XI, 50 51), and divine will thus relegates them to the seventh circle. The sin of the
Sodomites is clear for Dante, who poses no question on the matter, sodomy perhaps being an obvious
affront to God which the bible directly addresses. However, the sin of Cahors, namely usury, is not
clear to Dante. He asks Virgil to unravel the knot in his mind, since there is no obvious reason why a
usurer a money lender essentially deserves any punishment at all for a crime ... Show more content on

Thus, Dante is on Virgil s level in one sense, and far below him in another, which is true in the grand
scheme of the work: Dante is only beginning to understand the workings of the divine order by Canto
XI, while Virgil borders on omniscience throughout. Furthermore, Dante has not yet eclipsed Virgil as
a poet, since at this point the Inferno is hardly begun, while the Aeneid presents Virgil s view of Hades
from top to bottom..
In Dante s hell specifically, the reason that usury is a deadly sin is very confusing, which is why Dante
calls it a knot. Unlike other sins, usury is not on its face a dreadful immorality. Virgil approaches the
issue at first philosophically, making the profoundly esoteric claim that nature follows... the Divine
Intellect and the Divine Art. The idea nature is therefore composed of these two abstract elements. The
Intellect, coming first, must be at the root of the Art, since intellect must precede production, as in the
Platonic doctrine of the essence of a thing preceding the existence of a thing. The Intellect is the
potential; the art is the result. In concrete terms, the Intellect must therefore be the primordial stuff
from which everything is made, and the Art therefore must be the process of making it into something
tangible or usable. From this, then, we can deduce

Anything is acceptable as long as it is legal. Or so that s what they say. If so why worry or make a big

Essay On Isotopes
Isotopes from Greenhouse Gases and Air Toxics
Introduction
In recent years, the oil and natural gas industry has continued to expand to populated areas, thus
growing a concern for nearby communities regarding volatile organic compounds (VOCs) air toxics
and human exposure.1 Current screening methods to determine exposure of toxic VOCs such as the
family of Benzene, Toluene, Ethylene and Xylene (BTEX) requires a traditional gas chromatograph
(GC), which requires high energy use and its bulky size is not ideal for long term field deployment
and real time measurements. Sensor technology advancements have enabled the use of low cost
devices to measure VOCs, but require additional techniques for chemical speciation for BTEX
identification (i.e. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
VOCs are more complex hydrocarbons than CH4 that are emitted from biogenic and anthropogenic
sources. Biogenic VOCs include alkanes, alkenes, alcohols, aldehydes, etc. Generally, anthropogenic
VOCs are diverse and also include aromatic hydrocarbons, most importantly benzene, toluene,
ethylene and the isomers of xylene as major components (up to 75%).5 To say the least, there is a
wide chemical composition variety of VOCs released to the atmosphere. For my project centered in
the oil and gas industry, I will focus on the aromatic compounds BTEX. Studying the isotopic ratio of
VOCs can provide insight into the photochemical transformation and physical processing of ambient
VOCs.10 Recent isotope studies on VOCs has shown the stable isotopes of C within the compounds is
consistent with the kinetic isotope effect.10 Thus, the fractionation between the emission and the
observation can determine the extent of photochemical processing, other words the photochemical
age.10 The study of isotopes within VOCs has recently developed with Rudolph, et al., 1997 as a
method was introduced to measure VOCs at low mixing ratios (3 to 5 orders of magnitude smaller
than CH4).

Tyra Banks Research Paper
Tyra Banks was born on December 4, 1973, in Inglewood, California. She graduated from high school
in 1991 and planned to go to Loyola Marymount University and study film. Unfortunately, before she
even starts her classes, she discovered by a French modeling scout. Since an early age, she used to
dress up in her mom clothes and pretended to be a model. And spend most of her time watching TV
shows which are about fashion and styles. This opportunity opened doors to the success she owns.
Now a day, If the name of fashion models mentioned, the first person that reaches to most of our
minds is Tyra Banks. She is known for being a hugely rewarding model. While fashion holds the
biggest part of her success, she continues to grow herself beyond that. Being an African American and

Comparing Elizabeth Bennet and Charlotte Lucas in Pride...
The intent of this essay is to compare and contrast the characters of Elizabeth Bennet and Charlotte
Lucas. The main points that will be compared and contrasted include the relative beauty, age and the
characters of Elizabeth Bennet and Charlotte Lucas. The similarities and differences in their families,
position in society and their wealth, their differing attitudes to marriage, and finally, who has the better
deal and why, will also be discussed. By the end of this essay, the reader will be able to discern the
differences and similarities in both Elizabeth and Charlotte.

The families of Elizabeth and Charlotte play a very important part in their lives, and in the prospect of
their future companions. Elizabeth s family are more prone to exposing themselves and being
ridiculous , and it is partly down to her family that Mr. Darcy is so adamant on Mr. Bingley not
marrying her sister Jane. However, unlike her family, Elizabeth is socially graceful, sensitive and
conscious of her appearance in the eyes of others. This leads to her acute awareness of the social
failing of some members of her family, particularly her mother and youngest sister.
Elizabeth s father is more sensible than her mother and is described as so odd a mixture of quick arts,
sarcastic humour, reserve and caprice . Her mother however is not so difficult to work out, she is a
woman of mean understanding, little information and uncertain temper , and the business of her life is
to get her daughters married3. Charlotte s mother, Lady Lucas, is not much different from Mrs.
Bennet. She described as being a very good kind of woman4 , and like Mrs. Bennet she was also set
on getting her daughters married . Charlotte s father is Sir William Lucas, and he is a very pleasant
man known for his civil manners .
Another aspect of Elizabeth and Charlotte is their position in society, which is rather different and this
is partly down to their wealth. Elizabeth s wealth is greater than that of the Lucas family. Mrs. Bennet
often likes to point out that they

anything from Family and Consumer Science classes to public speaking. With few requirements in
terms of electives, RAHS allows the student to choose their own electives to match interest in hopes to
balance with core classes. However, i wish RAHS offered more post secondary classes at the school.
For juniors and seniors, century courses are offered at Century college for classes such medical
careers, education and even cosmetology. RAHS should offer more in school post secondary related
classes that don t require leaving RAHS as well as taking multiple electives within a trimester. RAHS

What Affect does Seed Size have on Plant Growth Rate and Height?
Abstract:
The purpose of this experiment is to investigate whether the size of the bean will affect the height and
growth rate of the bean stalk. According to Anthony Brach Ph.D., the larger seed size tends to grow
slower because they require more nutrients than smaller seeds, however, larger seeds will often grow
taller because they have a lot of nutrients stored in them. Mung beans, are a legume likely native to
India. These bean plants require full sunlight or at least eight to 10 hours of sunlight daily. Mung
beans can grow up to 36 inches tall and reaches maturity after 120 days. The goals of this experiment

Freud s Psychoanalytic Theory Analyzes Modern Day Texts
From the time of the Victorian Era, theorists have analyzed the mind and how it works. Many consider
Sigmund Freud the father of psychology. According to Freudian theory, humans are controlled by
three personalities throughout life; the id, ego, and super ego. However, we are not born with all three.
Instead, we are born with our id ( Structural Model ). At the age of three, the second part of the
unconscious mind, the ego, is developed. Later, when the child is five, or ending his or her phallic
stage of development, the super ego structure is developed ( Structural Development ). Using
psychoanalytic theory, we are able to analyze many modern day texts. Throughout the novels Batman:

Although we only have one structure of personality as babies, by the time we are three, another
structure starts to take effect. Although there are many characters in B: DKR, the graphic novel solely
focuses on Bruce Wayne as Batman. However, there are a multitude of examples of the id in control.
For one, Wayne is continuously bothered by his id which wants him to return to fighting crime as
Batman. In the beginning of the novel, Wayne s id taunts him, You are nothing, a hollow shell, a rusty
trap that cannot hold me ( B: DKR , 25). His id goes on to say, You cannot stop me, but still you try,
still you run ( B: DKR , 25). This shows that his id is clearly in control and Wayne s ego has an
insignificant amount of authority. Secondly, while fighting crime on his first night, Wayne is not able
to keep up with the younger criminals as he could have when he was younger however; his id pushes
him to continue. Wayne thinks, This should be agony, but I am a man of thirty, twenty again ( B: DKR
, 34). This reiterates the point that his impulse is strictly controlled by his id. Lastly, when Wayne
loses his fight to the Mutant gang s leader, he does not give up the war. Instead, his animalistic
character wants to kill the gang s leader and so he returns once again to settle his inner dispute. In
Batman s final encounter with the Mutant gang s leader, Batman thinks, He s fast, faster than I am.

Environmental Effects Of Overfishing
The ocean is one of the largest sources of food and income for countries all across the globe. As the
fishing industry and human population grow, more and more resources are being taken out of the
ocean every year. If this process continues without any type of new regulation, our oceans supply of
resources will quickly start depleting. Without a sustainable output from our oceans, millions of
people will be losing income that they thought they could rely on forever. While most people are not
aware of this problem, over the past fifty years overfishing has developed into a huge environmental
issue that could have catastrophic global effects on us in the future if left untreated. According to
WorldWildlife.org, More than 85 percent of the world s fisheries have been pushed to or beyond their
biological limits and are in need of strict management plans to restore them (WWL.org). This statistic
shows that most of our oceans resources are being overused and depleted. Some of the the most
important fish species, for example, the bluefin tuna, have been exploited to the point that their
population s survival is at risk. The overfishing of top predators disrupts marine ecosystems and food
chains, leaving a large quantity of smaller populations. This type of imbalance can be very dangerous
to the oceans ecosystems by throwing off the natural order of predators. In the past fishing was more
sustainable because the technology that is used today did not exist. They did not

Often it takes a huge crisis to make a society change, says Toshihiko Hayashi, an economics professor
at Doshisha University in Tokyo, who has studied the legacies of natural disasters. For Japan, even
two lost decades after the bubble burst were not enough to fundamentally change the country s
economic and political systems. But this crisis is different. It could be the catalyst that finally changes
Japan.
These days, few would have predicted that Japan s way to renewal would be blazed by its young
people, who were supposed to have other things on their minds: nearly 1 in 10 young Japanese is
unemployed, and almost one third of university graduates get no job offers. Many more can find only
part time work.
Yet even if the new mood of sleeves rolled up volunteerism persists among young Japanese, they may
still need leadership: someone to organise where the supplies and relief efforts should go. But in today
s Japan a nation of lacklustre politicians, bureaucrats and salarymen that seems to be lacking. The sad
fact about many young people today is that if there s one person who leads the way, they will follow
and work hard, says Ayumi Yamamoto, a Tokyo graduate student who has volunteered to help
earthquake survivors as part of a newly formed group called Tohoku Rising (Tohoku is the
northeastern region that bore the brunt of the disaster). But right now

The Weapons Of Mass Destruction
Research Question: Are there recent developments in weapons of mass destruction planning? Weapons
of mass destruction, or WMD, provides a fundamental problem for governments and other
organizations such as hospitals and schools. If WMDs manage to fall into the hands of terrorists,
perhaps during a civil war, the potential for devastation and casualties is high. Therefore planning
efforts to avoid WMD scenarios remain at the top of priority lists. This literature review will highlight
the meaning of weapons of mass destruction, what some organizations or governments have currently
implemented for such a scenario, as well as other planning efforts in order to reduce the likelihood of
an attack by terrorists with WMDs. To begin, what are weapons of mass destruction? Weapons of
mass destruction (WMD) is, on the face of it, a straightforward designation. The term is generally
accepted to mean munitions whose destructive attributes come from fission or fusion reactions,
biological agents, or chemical weapons (Grove 2014). WMD s have been on the minds of Americans
since the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and before that during the Cold War. There has been
considerable discussion over whether the description is one of gauge that is, enormously destructive
weapons or is intended to signify the characteristic or mysterious nature of its means of obliteration. in
the article Grove highlights such discussions to help readers understand what meaning lies for most

A Comparison Of Pablo Picasso And Zaha Hadid
Does one ever question what opposition to cultural trends can lead someone? What if they were to
question they type of success that could erupt from dislocating and distorting one s work into a brand
unique to no one but yourself? Pablo Picasso and Zaha Hadid were two of the most successful artists
within the modernist movement. Both Picasso and Hadid laid the foundation for their success with a
strong educational background. Each artist understood their sheer talent and works would not
contribute to their succession alone. Picasso and Hadid sought the importance of defining one s brand
on a global scale. Building a connection between a consumer and their product, both Picasso and
Hadid knew that their talent and business practices would allow them to convey themselves naturally
in a world immersed with commercialization. Their profound ability to know which patrons
(sponsors) to conduct business with, and proper distribution without flooding the market, allowed
Picasso and Hadid s work to stay in demand.
Born to on October 25, 1881 to Jose Ruiz Blaso, Pablo Picasso did not know that he would become
one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Displaying an extraordinary talent for art at a
young age, Picasso s father (a professor of art) decided to mentor Picasso s passion for the lapiz. With
the death of his sister at age thirteen, his family moved to Barcelona, where his father took a position
in the School of Fine Arts. Pablo s father successfully

Lee Ward Case Summary
Case 9.12 describes the actions of Lee Ward at a work conference. Lee Ward was not liked by many
colleagues and spent much of his time finding ways to cause problems for them. He was a jealous man
and felt that it was necessary to embarrass his co workers. While at a conference, he found himself in
a position that allowed him to take photographs of a group outing. His excuse was that the photos
would be used for the company s newsletter. He was also taking personal photos of a female co
worker named Janice without anyone s knowledge. Janice found out about the photos a while after
they were taken. Lee Ward personally admitted to taking them when running into Janice, who was at a
show with her boyfriend, Errol. Janice was uncomfortable, but ... Show more content on

He has the freedom of expression, allowing him to photograph whatever he wishes. However, he is
not allowed to infringe on another s right to privacy or violate any trespassing laws. In case 9.12 he
violated neither law. The right to privacy refers to a person s personal information being made known
(Gerdelman, 2014). Ward s photography did not infringe on Janice s personal matters. The
photographs were taken on public property, so no trespassing laws were violated. It also appears that
Lee Ward s motives did not benefit anyone. The photographs were merely taken out of the personal
enjoyment of making someone uncomfortable. No good could come out of taking the photographs.
Lee Ward s actions were for personal gain and his intentions were not good in nature. This allows us
to conclude that his decision to take the photographs was unethical. Janice broke no rules in the case.
She also did nothing to solve the issue at hand. She made the decision to drop the problem because of
her fear that there would be repercussions. She knew more about Ward than Errol did and felt that if
either of them did anything, it would result in Ward acting out again. Ultimately causing even more

The War On Drugs And Drugs
The war on drugs is a long going battle and it has created many issues all around the world and as of
today the highest prison population can be found in the United States due to drug charges. About half
of the inmates with in federal and state prisons can be found on drug convictions. Those charges can
range from possession of an illicit substance to drug trafficking that surprisingly continues to be an
issue in federal and state prisons. How can United States put an end to the war on drugs?
Many people cope with drug use, abuse, and many inmates who have been convicted on drug offenses
deal with addiction as well. The United States has the leading amount of people within the prison
system and most are for drug offenses nevertheless, many of those people contend with drug
addiction. Drug addiction is a disease that so many cope with; it is reliance on a substance and for
whatever reason the addiction continues to take over one s life and choices. Drug abusers can
sometimes see a means to an end when it comes to their drug addiction, whether its alcohol, a
hardcore drug like heroin or cocaine, or prescription medication the person will do what it takes to
feed their addiction. People have their reasons for why they need to do drugs, it could be to escape
their own reality, a coping mechanism, or it could be just because it makes them feel good. Sometimes
that need can surpass a person s better judgement leading to criminal acts being committed because

The Prudhoe Bay Oil Spill and a Commitment to Being Green
Michelle L. Staton
Case Summary The Angelo Persian Oil Company was formed in 1909 by a wealthy Englishman
named William Knox D Arcy. It did not operate under the British Petroleum (BP) name until 1954. In
early 1959, BP discovered hydrocarbons under the North Sea and Alaska, and found the West Sole gas
field in 1965 which was the first oil exploration success in British waters. In 1969, BP discovered
major oil deposits in Prudhoe Bay on the North Slope of Alaska. The refining and marketing of the
Prudhoe Bay oil fields was handled by Standard Oil Company of Ohio, which also took over BP s
leases at Prudhoe Bay in exchange for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Things were going very well for BP, until March 2006 when crews discovered a small hole in the
pipeline at the Prudhoe Bay oil fields. The company is responsible for the northern Alaskan oil fields
and had no indication there was a leak until it was too late. Between 200,000 and 270,000 gallons of
crude oil leaked out of the hole in the pipeline over a five day period, and became the second worst oil
spill in the United States. The worst oil spill was a result of the Exxon Valdez tanker hitting a barrier
reef in Alaska s Prince William Sound in 1989. More than 11 million gallons of crude oil was
accidentally released into the water, and the region is still impacted environmentally from the spill.
The leaking pipeline disaster will have very similar severe environmental impacts on the region and
will definitely taint the company s image of safety and environmentally friendly operations for many
years to come. With the increase in oil exploration in the region, the quality of oil has significantly
declined. The lower quality oil flowing through the pipeline causes stress on the pipes leading to
corrosion and deterioration. Some of the pipeline is underground and, therefore, making it difficult to
detect a leak in those areas. BP has increased its budget to inspect the pipeline for corrosion, as well as
using an additive to breakdown emulsions in the oil. The pipeline was

profit. Part Parcel Computers has been at the forefront of the computer parts industry for the past
fifteen years. They have developed a reputation for the cheapest computer parts by focussing on a cost

Ultimately, P P computers can gain a competitive advantage through understanding the desires and
needs of their loyal customer base. Furthermore, this project will also use association rules within
customer segments to predict what items are most likely to be purchased together thus informing
future business decisions. Background: Loyalty programmes have rapidly proliferated in almost all
consumer focussed industries. In the United States alone, explicit opt in programme memberships
topped 2.6 billion in 2012 (IIDA, 2014). The vast amount of transactional and demographic data
gathered from loyalty programmes has been used by many organisations to drive business decisions.
The use of supervised and unsupervised learning has been used to gather different information about
customer desires, trends and loyalty. There are two primary modelling approaches, they are recency,
frequency and monetary (RFM) model and the customer life value model (CLV). The RFM model
focusses on three key metrics; how recently a customer has purchased, how often they purchase and
how much money they spend. On the other hand, the CLV model attempts to predict the amount of
money a customer will spend with the company from present day till the time the business relationship
is terminated. Gupta et al (2006) indicate that the main limitation to RFM models is that they use a
scoring system and do not provide a specific dollar value. However, there are successful cases where
an RFM model was

Essay about Mozart k310 sonata (2nd movement)
Mozart k310 sonata (2nd movement) Analyzation
The 2nd movement of the Mozart k310 Piano Sonata resembles standard sonata form in many ways. It
opens with a first theme in F (same as key signature). The theme is four bars long; two bars of
antecedant, two bars of consequent. Mozart then starts the first theme again with a 32nd note run pick
up instead of the 16th note arpeggio pick up in the the begginning of the piece so we are prepared for
variation in the second statement of the first theme. He then continues the theme with variation until
the consequent phrase which is completely different from the first consequent phrase. This new
consequent has not only faster rythmic movement but also compressed harmonic rythym. This tension

The I chord confuses the tonal direction becasuse the listener expects the ii to be followed by V and
then I. This is even more confusing because the scale that accompanies the I chord implies V (the
chord the listener wants to hear). The next bar rounds off this cadential prolongation (ii V I) but the
exposition does not yet end. The arrival to I does not occur until beat three of the bar. The first two
beats create even more prolongation as they nearly modulate. And even after this, the exposition is not
done. There is a two bar codetta (a one bar figure played twice, the second time with variation) before
the strong V7 I cadence with a C pedal tone. This is the first very strong cadence since the start of the
closing material. Since the cadence at the end of the exposition is to C without any hint of F as a tonic,
the Developement begins in C. In fact, it is clearly in C as its pick ups are a C arpeggio and the first
bar looks and sounds like I and shows no indication of a Bb or any other scale alteration. The opening
of the developement is also a textural change but seems to resemble old material in its melody. Both
the first theme and the second theme have similar figures to the new material. The developement starts
with tonal movement in each of the first two measures, I in the first measure and ii6 in the second. In
the third bar the harmonic rythym increases with a I64 for the first two beats and a V7 in

Similarities and Differences Betweeen Evidence Based...
Within the field of education there is a range of methods and practices which have been implemented
by professionals, in order to improve the provision for learners. Some of the methods adopted may be
due to government legislation. An example of this is the National Curriculum. It was introduced to
establish a consistent approach to the teaching of all children, in maintained schools. It gives guidance
on what should be taught for particular age groups and a set of level descriptors are also included to
assess children by. Other practices are developed, within a school context, to address particular areas
in need of improvement. Evidence Based Practice (EBP) and Reflective Practice are two methods,
used by teachers, to enhance the teaching ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another familiar feature of both reflective and evidence based practice is that both practices share a
common aim. They both strive for change and improvement (Atkin 1993 cited in Leitch Day 2000).
Evidence is often gathered to support or justify particular practice. We look at trends in results to
identify a particular weakness or strength. The optional statutory assessment grids are a great source of
evidence for teachers, at the end of a year. They provide a breakdown of the types of questions that the
children answered and show the percentage they got correct. In my school we analyse this data to
show where there are gaps in the children s understanding. We then use this evidence to inform our
teaching practice the following year, by targeting these particular areas in need of development. By
looking at this example you can see how both evidence based and reflective practice are used. As
practitioners we need to reflect upon this evidence to help it inform out teaching. Without doing this,
these gaps may go unidentified and there would be no improvement in that particular area of the child
s understanding. This example shows the reflection on action process.
Although it is possible to say that both practices share a common aim it could be argued that the
difference between the two is the way in which they are used (McMahon 1999). Often when
practitioners reflect on their practice, it is then that they recognise a problem or dilemma. They do this

Sacrifices
Hello, my name is Villette Jones and I am here to give my thoughts, definition, and analysis on
Sacrifice. Sacrifice has many different meaning and even more synonyms to go along with it, a few
words or phrases that catch my immediate attention when thinking of Sacrifice are ( Cede, Immolate,
Endure, and Part With ). However when I asked associates and my peers majority of them thought of
Forfeit. When I take time to really think, in my own opinion Sacrifice is Forfeit, Suffering, and
Offering. These are very significant second hand words to my original word (Sacrifice), and as you
read along I will show you exactly what I mean by it.
The meaning I get from the word Forfeit is Loses, a Penalty, and being deprived of something. Forfeit
is such a major second hand word to Sacrifice and the reason forfeiting is so major, is because
majority of the time you re losing something of significant value. A great story of someone having to
forfeit something for a greater cause is Everett Alvarez Jr. Alvarez Jr is a former U.S Navy
Commander who endured one of the longest periods as a prisoner of war (P.O.W) in American
military history. Alvarez was the first U.S pilot to be downed and detained during the Vietnam War

Antisemitism And Racism
Throughout global history, there have been large debates pertaining to people that aren t accepted as
the ideal race. These debates are mostly about the ongoing injustices of non Caucasians and the
actions that should be taken to ensure the protection of white Christian values . Whether they are
brown, yellow, or blue, the majority has found horrible ways to prevent minorities from having equal
rights as human beings. I have found that people as high up as government officials have even
promoted these unjust actions. The holocaust is a prime example. Some of the most common ways
they ve robbed minorities of their humanity are through social exclusivity, which the oppressors have
justified through racial differences. Realistically, these types of justifications are simply filtered down
to racism. Not to mention, I ve realized that the Jewish community isn t new to this form of accepted
racism. In fact, they ve experienced such a vast amount of hate that the term antisemitism was coined
from their oppression. In my opinion, the terms antisemitism and racism relate through racial thought
based essentials such as their supporter s destructive actions toward people of a different race, their
systemic discriminatory nature, and prejudice principles. Furthermore, I have realized that
antisemitism and racism are comparable through their supporters racially based destructive actions
toward those of a different race. In general, there have been a tremendous amount of

Copper And Zinc Reaction Lab Report
In retrospect, the practical was very easy to follow and achieved the desired results. In order to
quantify the amount of electricity generated through the spontaneous redox reaction, a multimeter was
used to measure the follow of electricity between the Copper and the anode. This gave us an increased
reliability and accuracy than using an analogue voltmeter. When it was calculated, the reaction
between the Copper and Magnesium in theory had a potential difference of 2.58v. The Copper and
Zinc reaction was also calculated to have the expected potential difference of 1.1v whilst the Copper
and Lead had 0.7v. When looking at the half equations of the various reactions, the electron transfer
direction can be gathered. The place of oxidation is the side which loses electrons and the place of
reduction, which gains them. Therefore, it can be determined that the electron flow direction is from
the anodes [ which are Zinc, Magnesium, and Lead], the oxidization agents, to the Copper cathode, the
reduction agent. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These differences across all three reactions ranged from 0.056 volts and 1.58 volts. The potential
cause for these inaccuracies are numerous. The occurrence of these inaccuracies may have been due to
random errors such as the sizes of the filter paper and meta strips, inaccurate measurements of the
solutions, weight of the metal strips. In addition, the introduction of systematic errors may have also
increased the inaccuracies in the results. Some systematic errors which occurred were: not sanding any
of the metal strips as well as not having a specified amount of time for soaking the filter paper. These
errors both random and systematic may have been minimised or highlighted through conducting
various repetitions of the practical investigation so that results can be averaged to be more accurate

The Ordinary Least Squares Technique
We will use principally the technique of OLS. Studenmund defines OLS as a regression esti mation
technique that calculates the β^ so as to maximise the sum of the squared residuals. So this means that
it minimises the differences between the actual values of the variables and the estimated values of
them. What will interest us then is the β coefficients. He interprets these βs as the change of the
dependent variable associated with a one unit increase in the inde pendent variable in question holding
the other independent variables in the equation constant. So a β value of 0.07 would mean that y
changes by 7% for a one unit increase of x. These βs then will be the main basis of our results. But we
also have to have measures to see how well the equation explains the relationship be tween the
dependent variables and the independent variables. Studenmund focuses on two techniques. The first
is by analysing the R2. This captures how much of the variation of the dependent variable is explained
by the estimated regression equation. (Studenmund, p.47) The value of R2 can be between 0 and 1 and
the higher is the value the closer the estimated equation fits the sample data. In fact a better measure
of R2 is R bar squared as it takes into account the degrees of freedom in the model. However, he notes
that R bar squared alone is not enough to explain the success of our model. There could be other
factors so, it is an im portant estimate but not in we can fully rely on. He also warns

Human Primates And Human Primate
For my final paper for this class I will be going over and portraying the behavior of non human
primate and human primate in the literature and movies we went over, compared to the evolutionary
understandings of primate behavior. Throughout this class we studied and compared the different
primates, including human and non humans. According to the Wikipedia, The primate lineage is
thought to go back at least 65 million years ago. with that one could say that research on non human
and human primate can somehow explain the theory behind evolution. In addition to the different
reading materials we had in class we also watched several movies displaying different behaviors of
non human primate and human primate. With that saying, I developed a thesis statement, despite its
differences and similarities between non human primates and human primates behavior, can evolution
be understood differently when comparing the two through various readings, movies and evolutionary
research. Throughout this paper I will be going over the differences and similarities in behavior,
evolution, a higher power and even my take on such an opposition. First, I want to go over and talk
about the Evolutionary Theory. The Evolutionary Theory is a theory that has been supported by years
of experiments which is known as being one of the best speculation of natural occurrence. The

The Electric Drive Revolution And Electric Cars
Capstone Introduction Paragraph
The electric drive revolution will become accepted and advance over time, just like computers and cell
phones have over the last few days (anonymous). Electric cars have been around for many years. But
they just started coming back around in the 21st century. Before anyone who had charging stations
they would have to switch out their battery for their electric car whenever it ran out. The electric cars
were created to basically compete with gas powered cars. They were also created to reduce the
pollution created by gas cars. Countries all over the world have started to create more and more
electric cars. In fact, in this exact moment Japan already has more charging stations than gas stations
which could possibly mean that they already have more electric cars than gas cars. The first electric
car was created in the early 1900 s by Thomas Edison. People are only starting to go back to electric
cars because charging stations were invented. With charging stations in place now people won t have
to rely on gas stations and gas powered cars, they will only rely on the more environment friendly
charging stations and electric cars. Also with electric cars you have a lot more options to pick from
when it comes to batteries to buy and charge. You can use lead acid batteries, zinc air batteries, and
many more. Plus using electricity instead of gas is a lot cheaper. With time, gas powered cars will
become extinct. Electric cars will continue to

(Howard statement, human rights report) contradicts Australia s character. This destructive comment
has deepened old wounds that are present from the genocide committed towards Aboriginals of the

possesses a narrow mindset of not being responsible for other people s actions. Many continue to deny
the existence of the Stolen Generation as Howard stated, I didn t believe genocide had taken place,

  • 5. Competitive Cycles Of Cognitive Communication The third phase is conflict interaction, which is the parties response to a perceived conflict which is made up of communication, of interactive cycles of messages, responses, and counter responses (Conrad Poole, 1998). Once these cycles commence the outcome is not in the control of one participant, but parties make choices about how they respond based off of clues that they get from the other s communication (Conrad Poole, 1998). The interaction between Allison, Craig, and Penelope shows this cycle of conflict interaction. The first part of this interactive cycle is when Allison first message Craig on Tuesday to ask him for help while explaining that Penelope treating her like a subordinate which is creating an unproductive work environment. • 6. Essay on Divine Intellect in Dante s Inferno Divine Intellect in Dante s Inferno In Canto XI of Dante s Inferno, Virgil carefully explains the layout of hell to his student, Dante. Toward the end of his speech, Virgil says that Sodom and Cahors are speak[ing] in passionate contempt of God, (XI, 50 51), and divine will thus relegates them to the seventh circle. The sin of the Sodomites is clear for Dante, who poses no question on the matter, sodomy perhaps being an obvious affront to God which the bible directly addresses. However, the sin of Cahors, namely usury, is not clear to Dante. He asks Virgil to unravel the knot in his mind, since there is no obvious reason why a usurer a money lender essentially deserves any punishment at all for a crime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, Dante is on Virgil s level in one sense, and far below him in another, which is true in the grand scheme of the work: Dante is only beginning to understand the workings of the divine order by Canto XI, while Virgil borders on omniscience throughout. Furthermore, Dante has not yet eclipsed Virgil as a poet, since at this point the Inferno is hardly begun, while the Aeneid presents Virgil s view of Hades from top to bottom.. In Dante s hell specifically, the reason that usury is a deadly sin is very confusing, which is why Dante calls it a knot. Unlike other sins, usury is not on its face a dreadful immorality. Virgil approaches the issue at first philosophically, making the profoundly esoteric claim that nature follows... the Divine Intellect and the Divine Art. The idea nature is therefore composed of these two abstract elements. The Intellect, coming first, must be at the root of the Art, since intellect must precede production, as in the Platonic doctrine of the essence of a thing preceding the existence of a thing. The Intellect is the potential; the art is the result. In concrete terms, the Intellect must therefore be the primordial stuff from which everything is made, and the Art therefore must be the process of making it into something tangible or usable. From this, then, we can deduce ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay On Isotopes Isotopes from Greenhouse Gases and Air Toxics Introduction In recent years, the oil and natural gas industry has continued to expand to populated areas, thus growing a concern for nearby communities regarding volatile organic compounds (VOCs) air toxics and human exposure.1 Current screening methods to determine exposure of toxic VOCs such as the family of Benzene, Toluene, Ethylene and Xylene (BTEX) requires a traditional gas chromatograph (GC), which requires high energy use and its bulky size is not ideal for long term field deployment and real time measurements. Sensor technology advancements have enabled the use of low cost devices to measure VOCs, but require additional techniques for chemical speciation for BTEX identification (i.e. ... However, we are not born with all three. Instead, we are born with our id ( Structural Model ). At the age of three, the second part of the unconscious mind, the ego, is developed. Later, when the child is five, or ending his or her phallic stage of development, the super ego structure is developed ( Structural Development ). For one, Wayne is continuously bothered by his id which wants him to return to fighting crime as Batman. In the beginning of the novel, Wayne s id taunts him, You are nothing, a hollow shell, a rusty trap that cannot hold me ( B: DKR , 25). His id goes on to say, You cannot stop me, but still you try, still you run ( B: DKR , 25). This shows that his id is clearly in control and Wayne s ego has an insignificant amount of authority. Secondly, while fighting crime on his first night, Wayne is not able to keep up with the younger criminals as he could have when he was younger however; his id pushes him to continue. Wayne thinks, This should be agony, but I am a man of thirty, twenty again ( B: DKR , 34). This reiterates the point that his impulse is strictly controlled by his id. Lastly, when Wayne loses his fight to the Mutant gang s leader, he does not give up the war. As the fishing industry and human population grow, more and more resources are being taken out of the ocean every year. If this process continues without any type of new regulation, our oceans supply of resources will quickly start depleting. Without a sustainable output from our oceans, millions of people will be losing income that they thought they could rely on forever. While most people are not aware of this problem, over the past fifty years overfishing has developed into a huge environmental issue that could have catastrophic global effects on us in the future if left untreated. According to WorldWildlife.org, More than 85 percent of the world s fisheries have been pushed to or beyond their biological limits and are in need of strict management plans to restore them (WWL.org). Drug addiction is a disease that so many cope with; it is reliance on a substance and for whatever reason the addiction continues to take over one s life and choices. Drug abusers can sometimes see a means to an end when it comes to their drug addiction, whether its alcohol, a hardcore drug like heroin or cocaine, or prescription medication the person will do what it takes to feed their addiction. People have their reasons for why they need to do drugs, it could be to escape their own reality, a coping mechanism, or it could be just because it makes them feel good. Sometimes that need can surpass a person s better judgement leading to criminal acts being committed because they need to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Staton Case Summary The Angelo Persian Oil Company was formed in 1909 by a wealthy Englishman named William Knox D Arcy. It did not operate under the British Petroleum (BP) name until 1954. In early 1959, BP discovered hydrocarbons under the North Sea and Alaska, and found the West Sole gas field in 1965 which was the first oil exploration success in British waters. In 1969, BP discovered major oil deposits in Prudhoe Bay on the North Slope of Alaska. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Things were going very well for BP, until March 2006 when crews discovered a small hole in the pipeline at the Prudhoe Bay oil fields. The company is responsible for the northern Alaskan oil fields and had no indication there was a leak until it was too late. Between 200,000 and 270,000 gallons of crude oil leaked out of the hole in the pipeline over a five day period, and became the second worst oil spill in the United States. The worst oil spill was a result of the Exxon Valdez tanker hitting a barrier reef in Alaska s Prince William Sound in 1989. More than 11 million gallons of crude oil was accidentally released into the water, and the region is still impacted environmentally from the spill. The leaking pipeline disaster will have very similar severe environmental impacts on the region and will definitely taint the company s image of safety and environmentally friendly operations for many years to come. With the increase in oil exploration in the region, the quality of oil has significantly declined. The lower quality oil flowing through the pipeline causes stress on the pipes leading to corrosion and deterioration. Some of the pipeline is underground and, therefore, making it difficult to detect a leak in those areas. BP has increased its budget to inspect the pipeline for corrosion, as well as using an additive to breakdown emulsions in the oil. The pipeline was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ultimately, P P computers can gain a competitive advantage through understanding the desires and needs of their loyal customer base. Furthermore, this project will also use association rules within customer segments to predict what items are most likely to be purchased together thus informing future business decisions. Background: Loyalty programmes have rapidly proliferated in almost all consumer focussed industries. In the United States alone, explicit opt in programme memberships topped 2.6 billion in 2012 (IIDA, 2014). The vast amount of transactional and demographic data gathered from loyalty programmes has been used by many organisations to drive business decisions. The use of supervised and unsupervised learning has been used to gather different information about customer desires, trends and loyalty. There are two primary modelling approaches, they are recency, frequency and monetary (RFM) model and the customer life value model (CLV). The RFM model focusses on three key metrics; how recently a customer has purchased, how often they purchase and how much money they spend. On the other hand, the CLV model attempts to predict the amount of money a customer will spend with the company from present day till the time the business relationship is terminated. Gupta et al (2006) indicate that the main limitation to RFM models is that they use a scoring system and do not provide a specific dollar value. • 30. Essay about Mozart k310 sonata (2nd movement) Mozart k310 sonata (2nd movement) Analyzation The 2nd movement of the Mozart k310 Piano Sonata resembles standard sonata form in many ways. It opens with a first theme in F (same as key signature). The theme is four bars long; two bars of antecedant, two bars of consequent. Mozart then starts the first theme again with a 32nd note run pick up instead of the 16th note arpeggio pick up in the the begginning of the piece so we are prepared for variation in the second statement of the first theme. He then continues the theme with variation until the consequent phrase which is completely different from the first consequent phrase. This new consequent has not only faster rythmic movement but also compressed harmonic rythym. This tension ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The I chord confuses the tonal direction becasuse the listener expects the ii to be followed by V and then I. This is even more confusing because the scale that accompanies the I chord implies V (the chord the listener wants to hear). The next bar rounds off this cadential prolongation (ii V I) but the exposition does not yet end. The arrival to I does not occur until beat three of the bar. The first two beats create even more prolongation as they nearly modulate. And even after this, the exposition is not done. There is a two bar codetta (a one bar figure played twice, the second time with variation) before the strong V7 I cadence with a C pedal tone. This is the first very strong cadence since the start of the closing material. Since the cadence at the end of the exposition is to C without any hint of F as a tonic, the Developement begins in C. In fact, it is clearly in C as its pick ups are a C arpeggio and the first bar looks and sounds like I and shows no indication of a Bb or any other scale alteration. The opening of the developement is also a textural change but seems to resemble old material in its melody. Both the first theme and the second theme have similar figures to the new material. Within the field of education there is a range of methods and practices which have been implemented by professionals, in order to improve the provision for learners. Some of the methods adopted may be due to government legislation. An example of this is the National Curriculum. It was introduced to establish a consistent approach to the teaching of all children, in maintained schools. It gives guidance on what should be taught for particular age groups and a set of level descriptors are also included to assess children by. Other practices are developed, within a school context, to address particular areas in need of improvement. Evidence Based Practice (EBP) and Reflective Practice are two methods, used by teachers, to enhance the teaching ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another familiar feature of both reflective and evidence based practice is that both practices share a common aim. They both strive for change and improvement (Atkin 1993 cited in Leitch Day 2000). Evidence is often gathered to support or justify particular practice. We look at trends in results to identify a particular weakness or strength. The optional statutory assessment grids are a great source of evidence for teachers, at the end of a year. They provide a breakdown of the types of questions that the children answered and show the percentage they got correct. In my school we analyse this data to show where there are gaps in the children s understanding. We then use this evidence to inform our teaching practice the following year, by targeting these particular areas in need of development. By looking at this example you can see how both evidence based and reflective practice are used. As practitioners we need to reflect upon this evidence to help it inform out teaching. Without doing this, these gaps may go unidentified and there would be no improvement in that particular area of the child s understanding. This example shows the reflection on action process. Although it is possible to say that both practices share a common aim it could be argued that the difference between the two is the way in which they are used (McMahon 1999). Sacrifice Research Paper Villette Jones Mrs. Melissa Rigney English 101 Friday, August 14, 2015 Sacrifices Hello, my name is Villette Jones and I am here to give my thoughts, definition, and analysis on Sacrifice. Sacrifice has many different meaning and even more synonyms to go along with it, a few words or phrases that catch my immediate attention when thinking of Sacrifice are ( Cede, Immolate, Endure, and Part With ). However when I asked associates and my peers majority of them thought of Forfeit. When I take time to really think, in my own opinion Sacrifice is Forfeit, Suffering, and Offering. These are very significant second hand words to my original word (Sacrifice), and as you read along I will show you exactly what I mean by it. The meaning I get from the word Forfeit is Loses, a Penalty, and being deprived of something. Forfeit is such a major second hand word to Sacrifice and the reason forfeiting is so major, is because majority of the time you re losing something of significant value. A great story of someone having to forfeit something for a greater cause is Everett Alvarez Jr. Alvarez Jr is a former U.S Navy Commander who endured one of the longest periods as a prisoner of war (P.O.W) in American military history. These debates are mostly about the ongoing injustices of non Caucasians and the actions that should be taken to ensure the protection of white Christian values . Whether they are brown, yellow, or blue, the majority has found horrible ways to prevent minorities from having equal rights as human beings. I have found that people as high up as government officials have even promoted these unjust actions. The holocaust is a prime example. Some of the most common ways they ve robbed minorities of their humanity are through social exclusivity, which the oppressors have justified through racial differences. Realistically, these types of justifications are simply filtered down to racism. Not to mention, I ve realized that the Jewish community isn t new to this form of accepted racism. In fact, they ve experienced such a vast amount of hate that the term antisemitism was coined from their oppression. In my opinion, the terms antisemitism and racism relate through racial thought based essentials such as their supporter s destructive actions toward people of a different race, their systemic discriminatory nature, and prejudice principles. Furthermore, I have realized that antisemitism and racism are comparable through their supporters racially based destructive actions toward those of a different race. • 34. Copper And Zinc Reaction Lab Report In retrospect, the practical was very easy to follow and achieved the desired results. In order to quantify the amount of electricity generated through the spontaneous redox reaction, a multimeter was used to measure the follow of electricity between the Copper and the anode. This gave us an increased reliability and accuracy than using an analogue voltmeter. When it was calculated, the reaction between the Copper and Magnesium in theory had a potential difference of 2.58v. The Copper and Zinc reaction was also calculated to have the expected potential difference of 1.1v whilst the Copper and Lead had 0.7v. When looking at the half equations of the various reactions, the electron transfer direction can be gathered. The place of oxidation is the side which loses electrons and the place of reduction, which gains them. Therefore, it can be determined that the electron flow direction is from the anodes [ which are Zinc, Magnesium, and Lead], the oxidization agents, to the Copper cathode, the reduction agent. ... In addition, the introduction of systematic errors may have also increased the inaccuracies in the results. Some systematic errors which occurred were: not sanding any of the metal strips as well as not having a specified amount of time for soaking the filter paper. • 35. The Ordinary Least Squares Technique We will use principally the technique of OLS. Studenmund defines OLS as a regression esti mation technique that calculates the β^ so as to maximise the sum of the squared residuals. So this means that it minimises the differences between the actual values of the variables and the estimated values of them. What will interest us then is the β coefficients. He interprets these βs as the change of the dependent variable associated with a one unit increase in the inde pendent variable in question holding the other independent variables in the equation constant. So a β value of 0.07 would mean that y changes by 7% for a one unit increase of x. These βs then will be the main basis of our results. But we also have to have measures to see how well the equation explains the relationship be tween the dependent variables and the independent variables. Studenmund focuses on two techniques. The first is by analysing the R2. This captures how much of the variation of the dependent variable is explained by the estimated regression equation. (Studenmund, p.47) The value of R2 can be between 0 and 1 and the higher is the value the closer the estimated equation fits the sample data. In fact a better measure of R2 is R bar squared as it takes into account the degrees of freedom in the model. However, he notes that R bar squared alone is not enough to explain the success of our model. There could be other factors so, it is an im portant estimate but not in we can fully rely on. Throughout this class we studied and compared the different primates, including human and non humans. According to the Wikipedia, The primate lineage is thought to go back at least 65 million years ago. with that one could say that research on non human and human primate can somehow explain the theory behind evolution. In addition to the different reading materials we had in class we also watched several movies displaying different behaviors of non human primate and human primate. The Electric Drive Revolution And Electric Cars Capstone Introduction Paragraph The electric drive revolution will become accepted and advance over time, just like computers and cell phones have over the last few days (anonymous). Electric cars have been around for many years. But they just started coming back around in the 21st century. Before anyone who had charging stations they would have to switch out their battery for their electric car whenever it ran out. The electric cars were created to basically compete with gas powered cars. They were also created to reduce the pollution created by gas cars. Countries all over the world have started to create more and more electric cars. In fact, in this exact moment Japan already has more charging stations than gas stations which could possibly mean that they already have more electric cars than gas cars. The first electric car was created in the early 1900 s by Thomas Edison. People are only starting to go back to electric cars because charging stations were invented. With charging stations in place now people won t have to rely on gas stations and gas powered cars, they will only rely on the more environment friendly charging stations and electric cars. Also with electric cars you have a lot more options to pick from when it comes to batteries to buy and charge. You can use lead acid batteries, zinc air batteries, and many more.
