Impact Of Globalization
Impact of Globalization
Jan Aart Scholte states that Some people have associated globalization with progress, prosperity
and peace. For others, however, the word has conjured up deprivation, disaster and doom.
Globalization is truly a complex phenomenon. It indicates that the world today is getting smaller
because people from all around the world are interconnect than before. Globalization is driven by a
combination of economic, technological, sociocultural, and political factors. In this paper I will
discuss the impact of globalization on society: at social, cultural, economic and political level.

Additionally, globalization allows us to explore different religions, which we were unable to reach
previously due to the distance. At present, one can be sitting in Alaska and exploring Buddhism,
Jainism, Hinduism, Chinese traditional religion or various African/native American religions and
learning about it. While in the past, person had limited choices, they could learn the only one
religion that local spiritual teachers could teach. Although now, you have the option of learning
multiple religion and follow the one that brings inner most peace for you. Although, we are getting
multicultural and slowly accepting the diversity of human culture; were people will respect each
human being and accept their cultural beliefs.
Moreover, in the globally connected world, we might not be as blended as many people concern
off. For instance, over the Internet the standard form of language is English because it is
considered as the world s common language. At the same time, internet also has a facility for the
speakers of various small languages, to get connected and build common ideas. For the example,
you may find various regional Wikipedia over the internet. Before the globalization, we did not
had encyclopedias in different regional languages, the Encyclopedia were only in English. Today,
we have a various set of language in Wikipedia that allows people from other region to expand

Hinduism Is The Major Religion Of India And Is Monism Essay
Hinduism is the major religion of India and is monism. It is defined as uniting the worship of
many Gods with a belief in a single divine reality. (Molloy, 2015, p.75). Hinduism is not a single,
undefined religion; it is more like a family or beliefs (Molloy, 2015, p.75). Hinduism is a
religion where it is not as structured or has a lot of rules as catholic or baptist. I like it because it
is most based off of a way of living your life to reach the ultimate destination. Which is the path
of desire pleasure and success to achieve them you must maintain the fundamental rules of life
they are the 5 principles; 1. God Exists: One Absolute OM. One Trinity: Brahma, Vishnu,
Maheshwara (Shiva) Several divine forms, 2. All human beings are divine, 3. Unity of existence
through love, 4. Religious harmony, and 5. Knowledge of 3 Gs: Ganga (sacred river), Gita (sacred
script), Gayatri (sacred mantra). And the 10 disciplines 1. Satya (Truth), 2. Ahimsa (Non violence),
3. Brahmacharya (Celibacy, non adultery), 4. Asteya (No desire to possess or steal), 5. Aparighara
(Non corrupt), 6. Shaucha (Cleanliness), 7. Santosh (Contentment), 8. Swadhyaya (Reading of
scriptures), 9. Tapas (Austerity, perseverance, penance) 10. Ishwarpranidhan (Regular prayers).
(#######) Hinduism has no identifiable founder, no strong organizational structure to defend it and
spread its influence. (Molloy, 2015, p.75). It originates from 1,0000 B.C. and the scripture that is

Everything Stuck To Him By Raymond Carver Analysis
Everything Stuck to Him , by Raymond Carver, is an enthralling piece of literature that
eloquently depicts a short frame story centered on a nuclear family of three. The frame story
progressively shifts from a woman in Milan asking her father to tell her more about her childhood
to another story that the father narrates about a young boy with a wife and a baby. Carver does an
excellent job astutely using a minimalist style, word choice, and symbolism to enhance and develop
his narrative, Everything Stuck to Him . Compared to the extravagant and enigmatic writing style
that a lot of authors prefer, Carver chooses to employ a minimalist style in Everything Stuck to Him
, which means his sentences are devoid of elaborate details, explanations,... Show more content on

Aforementioned, Carver is a minimalist writer, so his diction is rather intelligible on a
denotative level. To go along with his style, Carver leaves out quite a few key components in his
diction, forcing the reader to, once again, make their own interpretations about the frame story.
Throughout the story, Carver never names the characters, which some may think is because of
the characters ongoing struggle to find their identities, while others may interpret this as a
concept that makes the story more relatable since the reader is able to identify more with the
character. Carver also uses the words girl and boy to describe the subjects of his frame story
instead of woman and man , which could be his way of emphasizing the immaturity and
inexperience of the young couple. Additionally, Carvers utilizes diction to casually imply that the
girl, or the woman s mother, is no longer around in the present, while not directly stating this. In
his frame story, Everything Stuck to Him , Carver uses precise word choice to enhance his
narrative by leaving out specific details that forces the readers to draw their own conclusions,
adding to the minimalistic aspect of the

Women s Role in Society in Pride and Prejudice, by Jane...
Over the centuries, women s duties or roles in the home and in the work force have arguably
changed for the better. In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen teaches the reader about reputation and
loves in the nineteenth and twenty first centuries by showing how Elizabeth shows up in a
muddy dress, declines a marriage proposal and how women have changed over time. Anything a
woman does is reflected on her future and how other people look at her. When Elizabeth shows up
to the Bingley s in a muddy dress they categorize her as being low class and unfashionable. Charles
Bingley, a rich attractive man, and his sister had a reputation to protect by not letting their brother
marry a low class girl . Reputation even today and back in the nineteenth... Show more content on

The richest, best looking men were usually married off first that is why when Mr. Bingley came
to town everybody introduced their daughters to him and his family. Mrs. Bennet say to her
husband Mr. Bennet, who usually ignored her, It is truth universally acknowledged that a single
man in possession of a good fortune must be want for a wife (Austen 1 2) A rich man did not
need a wife as much as a woman needed a man. A rich single good looking man, like most of the
bachelors in the novel, was every girls dream; a girl s father could only introduce his daughter to
a man. In the novel Mrs. Bennet begs her husband to introduce their girls to Charles Bingley,
even though Mr. Bennet already met up with Mr. Bingley and already had plans for him to meet
his daughters. A girl or mother were not allowed to introduce themselves to a man, when Mrs.
Bennet says to her husband It will be no use to us, if twenty such come, since you will not visit
them (Austen 32) Only being able to meet someone through a father s approval and introducing of
his daughters shows how powerless women were in the fact they could not make their own
decisions. At the town ball the Bingley s and Mr. Darcy arrive late but almost instantly noticed by
every family, with a daughter, in the room. Mr. Bennet took this opportunity to introduce all his
daughters in front of his wife. After Mr. Darcy,

Taking Precautions Why are constant blows to the head causing these fatal diseases?
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal painless disease that slowly breakdown the
motor neurons in the spinal cord. ALS is absent muscle cells attacks every part of the body
except the brain. Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a non curable disease that is
formed by constant recurring head trauma damaging the malfunction of the body. CTE damages
the brain by the buildup of abnormal proteins called Tau. Athletes are getting diagnosed with
these two diseases at a very young because they are participating in contact sports so young.
Contact sports have a huge impact with ALS and CTE because they are not educating the athletes
about the diseases and they are not demanding a change on the safety rules. With contact sports
comes with constant blows to the head that create concussions and brain injuries and they are
very prone to be the main reason of why athletes are getting CTE. While the rules of the game
should not be changed, the safety rules should be, the athletes should be getting educated on ALS
and CTE to know the risks of the contacts sports. ALS being a fatal disease it is not contagious it
is heredity. ALS is a progressive neurological disease that that affects the nerves in the brain and
spinal cord. Amyotrophic comes from the Greek Language meaning No musclenourishment and

The significance of these triads is the United State s post war fear towards immigrants. The Red
Scare was a postwar hysteria fed by labor strikes, bomb scares, and the fear of Germans. During
the time of race riots and labor strikes, home made mail bombs being sent to the homes of popular
or important people were becoming a familiar fear to the public. The postal service attempted to
intercept them all, but a few bombs slipped through killing people and destroying houses. This
caused the fear of immigration to rapidly increase throughout the United States. In June, 1919,
Attorney General Mitchell Palmer, after having the front of his home blown up earlier that month,

Chilean Culture
GLOBAL MULTI PRODUCTS CHILE THE CHILEAN CULTURE The Chilean culture tends to
be an individualistic society in the business environment. They are the most serious people in
Latin America. However, they are professional in their behavior in terms of politeness and
indirectness. They seem to be workaholics with their routine days of about 12 hours. Trust in the
Chilean cultures among each other, remains on the edge. It is difficult for a Chilean to trust
another individual despite their race, sex or origin. Teamwork remains a mission in process in Chile.

Ultimately, the goal of Global Multi Products Chile is to promote a corporate culture that embraces
trust and reliance between different departments. Unfortunately trust takes a long time to build and
this compensation solution can be implemented in the short term while developing the necessary
trust for the desired corporate culture.
NEED FOR ESTABLISHING COMMON GOALS AND PRODUCTIVE CORPORATE
CULTURE Problem: Global Multi Products Chile has gone through many changes and employees
feel volatile and lack trust amongst departments. This lack of trust found in the Chilean workplace
is hindering Multi Products ability to compete with large western manufacturers for important
clients.
Solution: Executive managers need to communicate longer term goals and visions for the
organization through small steps and workshops in each of the different departments. Employees of
similar status might engage in after work socializing activities. This would permit the development
of personal relationships between employees in similar departments perhaps alleviating some of the
distrust found at Multi Products Chile. Another area of importance is the instruction to more senior
managers relaying to them the value of working with members in the different sales departments
and what ever other departments necessary in order to better serve

Theme Of The Metamorrphosis And It s A Wonderful Life
The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka and the movie It s a Wonderful Life, directed by Francis
Copra, don t seem to have a lot in common at first glance. One is an old novella taught in literature
classes, and the other is a Christmas movie, but if you look closer you can see they share common
themes of unhappiness, transformation, and dependence on family support. In both The
Metamorphosisand It s a Wonderful Life the main characters are unhappy in their lives, and go
through a transformation where they see what their lives are like without them. We will
examine the characters, the journeys they went through, and the different outcomes of similar
experiences. George s transformation in It s a Wonderful Life starts with James Steward s
character George s unhappiness. His job, which he never wanted to get stuck with in the first
place, is going bad, and he feels like nothing he does makes any difference. He is about to get
blamed for something he didn t do and is backed into a corner. This is when George s
transformation begins. His unhappiness is compounded when his business is failing and he is
blamed. He is threatened with prison and ruin. He is unable to keep it together for Christmas
Eve. He sees his life as a life of sacrifice for his friends, family, and the good of the town, and he
sees it as all for nothing. All his efforts are leading to his ruin. When he goes home after the
money is missing, and after realizing all the implications that are attached to that, the stress is
compounded by his family. His daughter is sick, the piano is playing the same thing over and
over. He is bombarded with questions and the problems pile up until he loses his temper. He
feels that he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and it is all crashing down. Nothing he
does is good enough, and nothing he has done would stop him from going to prison if he couldn
t come up with money. That is when he remembers his life insurance. If he died the bank would
be taken care of and his family would be taken care of. If he died he wouldn t be stuck in the same
old town, with all the responsibility. He stands on the bridge ready to jump and wishes he had
never been born, He gets his wish and is shown what life would be like

life altering decisions without thinking them trough. Can contrasts from different family values and
cultural differences, drive you to a point in life where you just need to escape from it all, to be able
to find you own true identity? These are themes the in the short story Departure time by Tessa

the first pages of the text. The title Departure Time creates a feeling of a time limit and pressure
to the reader. Why does the main character have a time to departure, where is she going, and
what is she leaving behind? The text relies deeply on reverse foreshadowing and small
suggestion in order to capture the reader s attention and create suspense: Then lifts the little

panic makes her insides lurch (p.1 l. 22). Little hints from the past are slowly opening up to the

something, but we don t know what. Descriptions as: anxious, bitten fingernails, distance, fragile

Jim Gilmore s President Of The National Rifle Association...
There are issues in the U.S today just like any other country in this world. There are especially
more after our last presidency because Obama didn t make the best decisions. Now the U.S. is
coming up on the next election and we need someone who can fix these issues and problems.
That s where James Stuart Gilmore, who wishes to be known as Jim, comes in. Jim Gilmore is a
66 year old man who grew up in the working class area of Richmond, Virginia. He is a
Republican candidate who has served in the Army, as the governor of Virginia, and is a member
of the National Rifle Association s Board of Directors still to this day. (2)He would be focussed
on the issues of the U.S. and bring the U.S. back its potential. I am committed to addressing the
central problems facing the nation, is Jim Gilmore s exact words when he announced he is
running for president. (3) I believe Jim Gilmore would be a good president for this nation
because of his stance on gun control, foreign relations, and abortion which are major problems in
the U.S. today. There are many problems in the U.S but Jim Gilmore is focusing on three that
have been troubling the U.S. There have been many questions on abortion. Should it be legal?
Should there be a time range? Should it be banned? There has even been religion brought into the
fight. Jim Gilmore says that it shouldn t be allowed before eight weeks of pregnancy and no later
than twelve weeks of pregnancy. (1) Gun control has also caused a havoc in America.

Richard Wright s Black Boy Today
Richard Wright was born after the Civil War but before the Civil Right Era. If he were writing an
autobiography titled Black Boy today (2016) about a black boy growing up in the United States, he
would write about racial profiling against African Americans, the wide education gap between black
and white, and the unequal job opportunity for African American.
Wright would examine racial profiling if he was to write Black Boy today. Racial profiling is a
very serious issue in the society today. Many African American were being target, and in some case
murdered by law enforcement official because of their race. On August 9, 2014, a white police
officer named Darren Wilson shoot an unarmed black teenager named Michael Brown multiple
time in Ferguson, Mo. According to news article From Ferguson to Charleston and Beyond,
Anguish about Race Keep Building , Even though there was a video tape showing that the black
teenager was unarmed, the county grand jury still decided not to indict the police office because
they believed the old assumption that African Americans are more likely to be criminals. Grand
juries have tended to give the benefit of the doubt to police officers. National polls revealed
deep divisions in how whites and blacks viewed the facts in each case. Whites were more likely
to believe officers accounts justifying the use of force. Blacks tended to see deeper forces at work:
longstanding police bias against black men and a presumption that they are criminals .

The Understanding Of Reading Comprehension
Abstract Reading is the process of constructing meaning through the self motivated interaction
among the reader s knowledge and the material proposed by the written language and the context
of the reading situation. The understanding of reading comprehension is to teach reading to
students acquire reading skills to become independent learners. The strategies of teaching will be
used to help students achieve their reading goals. In areas such as mathematics, developing teacher
content knowledge has been a major concern because it is generally accepted that teachers who
know these subjects are better able to teach them. As teachers, we need to research strategies that
can be used to teach students how to read in every content area. Our focus in this literature review
will be on mathematics and how teachers can find different strategies and activities to use to help
students learn to read and also to use prior knowledge as they implement these strategies.
Keywords: Knowledge Content, comprehension, mathematics Introduction Reading is a natural life
skill, and students must be able to read in order to function in society. Even in our everyday
responsibilities such as working, grocery shopping, driving, banking, and reading the newspaper,
we are required to do some sort of reading. One of the ways in which teachers can help students
improve their reading skills is through strategy instruction (Duke Pearson, 2002). Strategy
instruction involves teaching

The Child Rearing, Education And Other Fields
Burrhus Frederic Skinner was born in 1904 Pennsylvania. After graduating Hamilton College, he
wanted to become an author, but without any avail. Pavlov and Watson s work encouraged him
to attend Harvard graduate school where he studied behavior. He made changes in the rate of
behavior a standard measure of learning: made the individual, rather that the group, the object
of experimental study; and suggested ways that a natural science of behavior could be applied
to medicine, work, child rearing, education and other fields (Learning and Behavior pg#136
137). Skinner worked with rats by placing them in boxes and providing them with different
reinforcements. He would teach them a different behavior by providing obstacles in order to
shape those behaviors. Positive reinforcement strengthens a behavior by providing a
consequence an individual finds rewarding (simplypsychology.org). The reinforcement was the
food The rats quickly learned to go straight to the lever after a few times of being put in the box.
The consequence of receiving food if they pressed the lever ensured that they would repeat the
action again and again (simplypsychology.org). When I became a mother, I always knew that by
rewarding my children with praises or food it would make them feel special. But I had no idea on
how it would shape their behavior. My first child, Anna (who is now 16 years old) was always
good. I could go to the store with her, give her a toy to play with at the store and she would

Analyzing Bloch s Painting
Bloch uses both analogous and complementary colors in the artwork to convey a message to
make the artwork standout. The artwork uses analogous colors to a calming view to the artwork
and to emphasize the drowsiness of the passengers. The black color of the man s coat is the same
as the color of the woman headwear sitting right next to him. The dark black of the man s coat in
headwear are analogous to the dark shade of greenuse as the colorof the chairs. The dark black and
green color is analogous to the window s color, as the windows are very dark showing that it is
dark outside. The man sitting on the chair on the left is wearing a brown coat which is analogous
in color to his skin color. The painting also uses complementary colors to make the painting stand
out. The arm board of the chair is a redcolor which is complementary to the dark blue green chair.

the modest cottages...from the 18th century on, it was the center of wealth, power, and influence.
These Big Houses were normally inhabited by Ascendancy families, Anglo Irish blood, and
Anglican faith (Mortimer 209). In The Big House in Ireland, SeГЎn O FaolГЎin s statement
towards the Ascendancy sums up the attitude of this society Ireland was their country, Ireland was
never their nation...they were far removed from their fellow countrymen in political loyalty,
religion, and education...their way of life and social outlook seemed to belong to another world
(Mortimer 209) and that world was Great Britain. O FaolГЎin here describes how the characters in
Good Behaviourlived while in The Old Jest describes the characters living closer to the people in
the village and surrounding community. Keane and Johnston took radical opposite points of view
in writing about the decline of the Big House both bringing aspect of their personal lives into the
novels to be a type of biographical perspective of 1920 s Ireland. O FaolГЎin makes the distinction
between Johnston and Keane with the following [a]lthough Jennifer Johnstonis not a daughter of the

through family connections, friends, and personal tastes (Mortimer 209). Yet each takes a different

Pros And Cons Of Being A Class President
It is a called a 5 minute break but I call them 5 minutes of hell. No one listens to anyone. The
whole class goes crazy. If a fight starts the class president has to try and stop it at least and find
order in the class. Also class president takes care of handing out paper and collecting things like
homework and test papers. They take care of any events that go on in our class. Be it if the class
wants a potluck or a field trip. They organize the potluck and keep track of who brings what.
They also are the one to bring up the idea of a field trip and if the teacher disagrees they try to
persuade the teacher so the rest of the people don t hate them. Basically it s hell to be a class
president. Only people (the really smart people) volunteer

Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome Phenotypes
Investigation As stated in the introduction there are multiple ways in which a gene can and does
mutate. Some go unnoticed for the affected individual s life. Others, like cancer causing mutations,
are detrimental and occasionally deadly. These mutations are either categorized as somatic or
hereditary and each effect individuals in different manners. Somatic mutations are acquired. This
means they happen later in life, cannot be passed down, and only affect certain cells. Hereditary
mutations are inherited from parents and can continue for generations. They affect almost every
cell in the body and are with the affected individual for life. With androgeninsensitivity the
inheritance pattern is X linked recessive making it hereditary and passed... Show more content on

While there are three phenotypes for androgen insensitivity, for the purpose of this particular paper,
the complete androgen insensitivity syndrome phenotype will be the one elaborated upon. The
typical phenotype for someone with androgen insensitivity is hyper feminization of a male (with
XY sex chromosomes) to the point where the genitalia are not masculine and may contain
elementary mГјllerian structures (Gottlieb et al. 1999). The male embryo should produce a protein
in the womb known as the Anti MГјllerian hormone which is facilitated by the AMH gene a cluster
of proteins that ensures sex differentiation occurs in fetal development. It is entirely possible that a
male embryo does not release the Anti MГјllerian hormone because the testis are not suppressing
the mГјllerian structures. In turn the wolffian ducts, structures that include the epididymis, vas
deferens, and seminal vesicles, only partially die. Partially is used here because there are both male
and female characteristics presented by those with androgen insensitivity. AMH should interact with
the Anti MГјllerian hormone receptors to target the MГјllerian ducts and kill the structures. Without
the supressment rudimentary MГјllerian structures begin to present themselves, since the embryo is
genetically male and has more development to do to characterize itself as such the structures do not
get fully finished. These structures would hold the ability to produce female characteristics as they
would need to serve their purpose in the

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Genetically Modified Organisms
Genetically Modified Organisms Transgenics and Biopharming In today s world, the need for
more efficient and better quality foods grows greater. The population on earth is thought to
increase to nine billion by the year 2050. To support this population, the application of
biotechnology is used to modify foods. The reason why foods are genetically modified is to
produce better quality food which can also fight off pests, insects, weeds and diseases. Not only
can you insert genes to induce these effects, you can also insert genes to produce medicines which
is called biopharming. This then allows farmers to reduce the use of pesticides and herbicides
(agric.wa.gov.au). GMOs can help protect the world s food supply and reduce the cost on farmers...

What happens if all the new GMOs die out due to a certain disease that only affects them? The
idea that GMOs can save the world s food supply is a very old idea and only a small amount of

Very serious risks are associated with transgenics and biopharming yet as the future draws near we
look towards it. I personally believe that we should investigate this technology further in order to
provide better quality foods, increase production, reduce costs and support human life on earth.
Safety protocols do need to be taken seriously in this however, precautions like growing the GM

The Gaze In George Orwell s Nineteen Eighty-Four
Empowerment and disempowerment using the gaze is manifested as one of the fundamental
themes in George Orwell s novel Nineteen Eighty Four (1949). Written in 1944, Nineteen Eighty
Four is a novel which portrays the experiences of Winston Smith, the protagonist and other
significant characters such as Julia who are bound to live within a totalitarian regime in which the
powerful forces are manipulation and fear. The work of literature demonstrates the visionary
concept of how totalitarian regimes may evolve if they were permitted to do so. The power of the
gaze is investigated in Nineteen Eighty Fourto assess how the protagonists in the book are given
power and also disempowered by the supervising gaze, the desiring gaze and the egalitarian gaze.

Digital camera market has enjoyed tremendous growth since it was introduced in the photographic
industry. Starting in 1998, price has been falling rapidly. In addition, the development of CMOS
allowed digital camera to not only capture professional market, but also enter consumer market. It
was estimated that in 2006 forecast would peak with 63% penetration rate for digital cameras in
the US. After 2006, the growth rate was expected to fall negative.
Product lives for digital cameras had been shortened. While an average life was between 17 and 22

Before, the concept of demand forecast was to serve the key functional groups in achieving their
own interest. Facing the new challenges, forecast needed to be more accurate. And therefore it
needed a new concept that is to have a consensus forecasting that would accurately reveal market
demand and align the needs of key actors in the forecasting process. Leitax implemented two
specific changes in forecasting process. The first one is to switch the focus from sell in to sell

The mission of the Forecast Re Design Team was to reduce expenses and risks associated with

According to Fowler, there were four objectives: (1), to reduce inventory levels across the supply

(3) to increase supply upside and downside flexibility; and (4) to improve on time performance to
customers.
The projects require individuals who have good technical skills and forecasting and industry

I m Considering Becoming A Sports Fan
We come across many different cultures and fashion in our society. Some may indicate that the
culture influences one s fashion while others may oppose and state that each aspect stands alone.
Fashion and culture fall into the following identity categories: chosen and assigned. Culture affects
many parts of an individual, in some cases you can determine an individual s cultureby their speech
and clothing; in addition to traditions and the environment in which they were raised. Whereas
fashion may be impacted by culture and tradition, but it may also not interact with culture at all.
When it came to Arab culture there were many restrictions and less freedom with appearance and
fashion. Even though the Arab culture may have many restrictions when it came to fashion it has
been modernized. The Arab culture prohibits a few dress codes that may be considered norm in
American culture. As an individual who grew up in an Arab culture household you have to adapt
to the culture and rituals. Just as Andy Hinds mentioned in his article, I m considering Becoming
a Sports Fan How Do I Pick a Team? In both of these exchanges, I had that old familiar feeling of
not having a clue about something that was supposed to be important to me as an American male.
It may also prohibit multiple actions that may be dealt and interpreted in other cultures in a
different way. Arab culture is made up of hundreds of years old traditions. Many fashion styles are

Once I woke up I called Alavee to make sure he was awake. I m glad he was because he saved me

remember how long it was the first time I had to make the trip, and it gets uncomfortable. The

My Father Research Paper
The person who I consider to be the biggest role model in my life is my father. My father has
been a role model for me ever since I was young, he was the one to show me that if I wanted to
succeed then I had to do so with my own knowledge and with my own capabilities. He was never
the person to shield me from the realities of the world, but at the same time he helped me to
understand what was happening and how these world problems could potentially affect me. He
was the one to show me that life will continue to happen whether or not I was prepared to do so.
My father conveyed to me the importance of searching for opportunities instead of letting them
come to me because life does not work that way. Life is not just going to provide me with help if
I do not give an honest attempt to produce results myself. As a child I looked up to my father,
especially since growing up I was the oldest child of the family. I did not have an older sibling to
look up to and to learn from like my younger siblings which is what made it possible for me to
look up to my father. A main reason that I had for looking up to my father was due to his strong
commitment to go heritage and culture. The fact that my father came to this country as an
immigrant from mexico and he came to this country without anything. No knowledge of the
country and its language, just the basic necessities of life which was some clothes and money,
amazed me. Additionally, my father played as a substantial role model in how I entered society
because of the fact that I grew up not speaking english and so growing up and going to school
was difficult to do since I did not really understand much and it wasn t until a few years of ESL
where I began to pick up english and a more centered idea of the world. As a result, I wanted to
be able to be a good role model for her and to be able to inspire her to follow her dreams and to
have a more optimistic perspective. I considered my father to be my role model because he is
someone who I believe is intelligent, hardworking and honest. He was someone who was always
pushing my sister and I to continue taking challenges that will help us develop into stronger and
knowledgeable young individuals. As an individual who never

Fine Chemicals Is API manufacturing returning to Europe? Shannon Bennett of Thomson Reuters
takes a look at the shifts in active ingredient sourcing During the past decade, as manufacturers have
pursued lower costs and a more favourable regulatory environment, API sourcing has expanded
from regulated into less regulated markets. However, sourcing from emerging markets has revealed
a variety of challenges which pharmaceuticals companies are continuously working to overcome.
These challenges, coupled with increasing costs in India and China and demand for specialised
technologies, could steer some companies to return to sourcing their APIs from European suppliers.

The European Generics Association (EGA) recently requested consideration of an EU Bolar
Export Provision. This would allow EU generic drugs companies to develop and manufacture
products specifically for export to the global market without breaching existing EU patent
protection. Such a provision would not only benefit EU companies by levelling the API playing
field but would also facilitate the entry and availability of generic drugs in pharmerging markets,
where the only available option may be more expensive branded drugs. The future of EU API
manufacturing could be influenced by the outcome of other pending initiatives that would require
more from companies in terms of investment in and oversight of suppliers. For example, the
adoption of the EU s Falsified Medicines Directive requires the verification of all finished dose
packs throughout the supply chain, as well as for APIs exported to EU, proving they were produced
within quality specifications equivalent to those in EU. Source: Robert Pollack, Lachman

require API manufacturers to verify the source of all starting materials, ensuring that they

The Heroes Of Ancient Greek Myths
Two Brilliant Heroes in Ancient Greek Myths Who has not heard of heroes in Greek mythology?
They are the role models, inspirations, and protagonists in myths. In ancient times, after a long
work day, the members of the community have little to no energy remaining, but utilize what
strength they have left in a magnificent manner. The citizens meet up, and entertain themselves
with myths regarding heroes, monsters, gods and goddesses. However, the most popular myths
revolved around heroes, and their adventures. In the majority of myths, heroes participate in
impossible adventures, and miraculously, came back with more confidence than they had when
they set out. The heroes in these myths are the ones that everyone loves and appreciates. Two
examples of famous heroes are Hercules and Achilles. They are two well known heroes that play
active roles in myths, and teach valuable life lessons. The two myths and the role of the heroes in
them that are analyzed here are two fan favourites: the myth of Hercules and Athena, and the myth
of Achilles and the
Trojan War. Hercules s adventure begins as soon as he is born. The fact that he is a product of
Zeus and a mortal enrages Hera, Zeus s wife, and Hercules suffers. As a result of this, Hera sends
two snakes to kill him in his crib. The infant Hercules is unusually strong and strangles the snakes
before they can assassinate him. As one can see from is, he is the most superior of all mortals, and

Organizational Structure and Culture
Organizational Structure and Culture
Introduction
In this week s assignment we will be looking at organizational structure and organizational culture.
We will first look at how organizational culture impacts organizational structure and vice versa.
Then look at how organizational structure interacts and impacts the organization s decision process.
Organizational Cultures Impact on Organizational Structure The first part of this week s assignment
was to look at how organizational structure impacts organizational culture and vice versa. But before
we look at that let us review what organizational structure and culture are. Organizational culture as
defined from the text is the shared values, principles, traditions, and ways of doing things that
influence the way organizational members set (Robbins, Decenzo, Coulter, 2013). Also an
organization s culture usually reflects the vision or mission of the organization s founders
(Robbins, Decenzo, Coulter, 2013). Organizational structure is a hierarchical arrangement of lines
of authority, communication, rights and duties of an organization (BusinessDictionary.com, 2013).
Organizational structure determines how the roles, power and responsibilities are assigned,
controlled, and coordinated, and how information flows between different levels of management
(BusinessDictionary.com, 2013). Now with a review of what organizational structure and culture
are let us look how they impact each other. There are many examples of structure

James Joyce Symbolism
The Dead By James Joyce tells the tale of the early twentieth century upper class society in the
Irish city of Dublin. The story tells of the characters entrapment, the tragic lives they lead and
hiding behind the conventions of their society. This comes together, not only to tell of the
individual tragedy of these people s lives, but to tell the tragic story of all of Ireland, as its true
problems become obscured in so many ways. The story dramatizes a dialogue between Gabriel s
consciousness and unconsciousness. Throughout the story there are several signs of the symbolism
theory. Therefore, I will show how symbolism plays an important role in the story The Dead. Joyce
lets symbolism flow freely throughout his story. He utilizes his main characters and objects to
impress upon the readers his view of Dublins crippled condition. Coupled with his depiction of
Dublin s transfixed status through the characters, Joyce illustrates his theme of paralysis through
snow. Symbolically representing the cold and dead Dublin due to its uncertain political period.
Winter is a time for celebration and holiday but it is also a symbol for eternal sleep and death.
Joyce takes on a more deeper meaning, symbolizing how humans are the same way, frozen
temporarily in an impermanent state: alive but always dying; just as snow will always melt, human
life will always end. Throughout the text all manifestations of winter, cold, white snow and the
season itself usually represents mortality.

Identity In Joseph Boyden s Three Day Road
An individual s identity is an ever changing composition of a person s aspirations, beliefs and
morality. Identity change is often influenced by many aspects of an individual s life, but
individuals must always return to their roots in order to stay true to their morality. This internal
struggle over one s identity is successfully illustrated in the characters of Three Day Road. In the
novel, Joseph Boyden vividly recounts the journey of two Native Canadian soldiers, Xavier and
Elijah, who struggle with identity loss from the adversity of the Great War. Through their
harrowing experiences from the battlefield, they experience a dissipation of morals which is only
recovered in Xavier, the sole survivor, through Niska s stories of her past, his own past, and of the...

Elijah s tragic descent to madness forewarns the dangers of assuming an identity drastically
different from one s true morality. From the beginning, Elijah felt that there was a need to fit in
with the other soldiers by adopting a British persona when speaking to others. In a shared code
with Grey Eyes, Elijah says, Dear Henry, [...] would you be a kind chap and make me a cup of
tea? (144). Although his British accent appears to be a convoluted joke, Elijah is really abandoning
his Cree language in favour of a British accent to please his peers. Despite the native language being
an essential part of his childhood identity, Elijah succumbs to the white man s perceived notions of
the Cree language being related to witchcraft as he strips away his native language to fit in with the
others. This sudden transformation to match a white man s identity ultimately results in an identity
crisis that drives him to insanity. Xavier illustrates this when he notices that,

Divorce Cases In The 1600 s
As long as there has been marriage, there has been divorce. Divorce cases have dated as far back
as the 1600 s. Originally, they were simple matters. Men, generally, received custody of the estate,
assets, and children. Women would receive nothing. However, divorce reform came around in the
1970 s to fix this inequality. They introduced alimonypayments and custody favoring women. With
the changes to divorcelaw, came more complexity in deciding cases. Cases, such as Dan v. Karen,
have to take into consideration lost opportunities, appropriate payment, and any future issues that
might arise. In Dan v Karen, Karen gave up her job to take care of their children, moved away from
her family so Dan could get a job, and provided for Dan when he did... Show more content on

They require a lot of consideration from the court and many factors, from the treatment of
spouses to the potential future one could have had outside of the marriage, affect the outcome.
As such, there are many change laws and views on policies. In modern divorce cases, a big issue
is spousal support. Spousal support was original thought of as compensation to a dependent wife
for her divorcing husband s breach of marital vows and responsibilities (244). However, modern
divorce cases have caused for a rethink of this aged idea. No fault divorces and changes in
typical gender roles caused a shift in typical spousal support. To correct this, spousal support was
proposed to be seen as a compensation for the dependent spouse s noneconomic support.
Basically, the dependent spouse has provided just as much for the family as the primary care
taker. If the court see that the dependent spouse s contributions have helped the non dependent
spouse s ability to advance in their career, then they should be compensated for this effort. The
dependent spouses are no longer entirely dependent on the primary caretaker. If a couple
divorces, one spouse is not significantly disadvantaged for sacrificing their career to help the
family. In the case of Dan v. Karen, Karen is not harmed for her efforts. It possible that Dan would
never have obtained his road worker job, and thus be as financially well off as he is if Karen did
not quit her job and raise the kids.

Greek Beliefs In Ancient Greek Mythology
Greek mythology is one of the most interesting topics to come out of ancient Greek culture. The
idea of sincerely believing that every move or choice that is made all goes back to the gods and
goddesses fascinates me. In ancient Greece, the normal thing was to believe in multiple higher
powers instead of today were majority dictates that there is only one higher power. I was aware of
some facts about the Greek s belief in the god and goddesses from previous history classes but I
have never at the freedom to choose to write a paper solely on them. The goal of my research was
to find out what made the gods and goddesses so special to the Greeks and why a civilization
would worship them for centuries.
The start of believing in the gods and goddesses started as a way to explain daily life and to give
life a purpose . Without a reason for living majority of people would descend into madness with
no morals. Unlike other religions that had a holy text, mythology was based primarily on word of
mouth. The stories were passed down from generation to generation to create the outlandish but
captivating mythology that we have in modern society. While there were countless gods and
goddesses, students do typically learn the 12 that are called the Olympian Gods . This group was
led by Zeus, who is perhaps is the most well known Greek god. The next 11 were named as
followed, Athena, Apollo, Poseidon, Hermes, Hera, Aphrodite, Demeter, Ares, Artemis, Hades,
Hephaistos, and Dionysus. I have attached a family tree to help showcases how majority of the
gods and goddesses were related . Each god had their own followers and were all considered the
god of something. For example, Athena is known as the Goddess of Wisdom and Hades is the
God of the Dead or God of the Underworld. Greek citizens built large temples to honor a particular
god where the god was thought to live.
Within these temples, religious ceremonies were not held as we hold mass in a church. Instead,
the temple for each god and goddess were considered the living place of whoever it was built in
honor to. The most notable would the be the temple to Athena which is showcased in the photo to
the left . In each temple, a statue of the god was placed for worshipers to live

Ethical Codes In Human Service
The ethical codes I have chosen to review are the National Organization of Human Services
(NOHS) codes because they are most appropriate for what I am studying. The ethical code, that is
provided by the NOHS, is very important to know and understand. As a human service major, I
consider the code of ethicsto be part of my life in ethical decision making. They protect the rights
of the client and the worker. They create guidelines, in which you should follow for standards of

To assist a client and guide them is ultimately up to me. It is required that I act with integrity and
follow all laws. There will be no black and white while assisting a client. There will be a lot of

client and assure to make careful choices. If I am unsure of something or it is out of my skill set,
I should go to someone how has acquired these skills for guidance and support. The code should
not only be used for your profession or job, it should become your lifestyle. It is my

for me to know and to stay inside my scope of knowledge. If I were to give guidance to someone

San Diego Film Festival The 16th annual film festival was by far the most consistent, well
organized festival I have ever attended. It was interesting to see a community of filmmakers come
together and share their experiences here in San Diego. With it being my first film festival to ever
attend, I was able to grasp and get a taste as to what the reality of filmmaking is through these
independent filmmakers eyes. Targeting mainly the Asian/ Asian American community, filmmakers
where able to screen their creativity into the big screen and reach a more broad audience. Having

the subtitles at all while I on the other hand, had to continuously follow along with the film while
also trying to keep up with the subtitles. It was very captivating to observe the comedic scenes in
the movie because people who were able to share the language with the film got the joke right
away during the scene, while I found myself laughing a little bit after or at things that other people
in the audience might have not find if hilarious at all. After this particular screening, once
everyone was exiting the theatre the majority of people being Asian American looked at me in a
surprised way along with my friends. It was not necessarily done with a bad intention but one of
the persons whom attended the screening and was also in charge of working the film festival asked
me what my experience was being non Asian and coming out to these events. In my honest opinion,
it changed the way I perceived Asian/Asian Americans. It changed my opinions and thoughts
entirely because it gave me a chance to have a taste of their culture and what they are really

The Garment and Textile Industry in Bangladesh Essay

Professor
September 3, 2014
Bangladesh is a south Asian country and has an approximate population reaching 164 million. The
manufacturing industry is what Bangladesh is known for. That industry also accounted for almost
12% of GDP in 2009 and 2010 with employing over four million people (The Bangladesh Accord
Foundation, 2014). The labor force is made up of young, urbanizing, mainly women. Bangladesh
accounts for approximately 78% total exports (The Bangladesh Accord Foundation, 2014), which is
second to China.
The cost is kept low with labor and the production. This helps competing in the export trading

Bilateral agreements with 28 countries and Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) of the EU
are key reasons for Bangladesh RMG products having access to global markets (Board of
Investment Bangladesh, 2012).
Best alternative
The best alternative would be improve the infrastructure, and increase the price of exporting, but
still lower than any other country. Bangladesh would make a larger profit and could put more
money on fixed and creating the ports and roads which in return will make it easier for the buying
countries. If the prices continue to stay low, the country may not have enough money for
infrastructure. Bangladesh would have more money to help with the electricity outages which can
also help business buy producing more and exporting more.
Implementation plan The implementation would be analyzing the competitions textile export
prices, and then increase the price to keep it right below the competition. This will allow
Bangladesh to gain more profit and place that into infrastructure. They would also want to focus on
the electricity so labor improves and more textiles can be made. This plan will allow for easier
flowing importing and most importantly exporting. This will also create a better working
environment in the textile mills and will create more production.

Theme Of Age In The Book Of Genesis
Responding to Genesis Age is a recurring theme in the Bible, especially in the Book of Genesis.
Ages of characters are mentioned several times in each parable. Often, the reader disregards
ages mentioned because they can be perceived as insignificant. After deep thought, I came up
with a potential purpose which age could hold in scripture. Each time the age of a character is
mentioned, that character is given a complex task by God, completes the task, and lives an
unusually long life. This pattern is supported by the parable of Noah s ark and could suggest that
obeying God s command can lead to a longer life. The sixth, seventh, and eighth chapters of
Genesis share the story of Noah. At the beginning of the passage, Noah is stated to be six

Sacroiliac Joint Essay
1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Balance is the ability to move or remain in a position without losing control or falling. Balance is an
action done without active consideration, but it is vital for locomotion and maintenance of an
upright posture. When balance is impaired it may have detrimental effects. The sacroiliac joint (SIJ)
is a key element in an upright posture and locomotion. Subluxations in the SIJ are common in a
large percent of the population, and may be symptomatic or asymptomatic in nature. These
subluxations can cause a number of symptoms including lower back pain, leg length inequality and
dysfunction in standing, walking, lifting objects and changing positions. Chiropractic treatment of
the SIJ has been found to relieve lower back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most patient s demonstrated improved balance, and some showed reduced dizziness and neck pain
after 8 weeks of chiropractic therapies. (Strunk and Hawk, 2009)
Study 2 was conducted to determine if proprioception would be improved by manual manipulation
of the SIJ or through full body vibration, via the use of a power plate. The results concluded that
there was an improvement in balance in the group, who received the vibration power plate, as well
as the combination group and the group that received only the chiropractic adjustment therapy.
(Landman, 2010)
Study 3 was conducted in order to determine the immediate effect of a unilateral sacroiliac
adjustment on gait. This study found that in asymptomatic patients, the sacroiliac adjustment
improved gait, and it was concluded that this treatment should become a treatment regime for
patients with gait abnormalities. (Schooling, 2012)

The anti rational approach leaves only a slight room for criticism and reflection (Strimpel, 2008).
The researchers followed the exploratory approach, as they previously carried out a study so they
had already confirmed their outcome, however, this study looked further into it by asking
participants what they think. The exporter approach allows flexibility in experiments, and
confirmatory use pre specified designs, and hypothesis (Kimmelman, Mogil Dirnagl, 2014).
Exploratory studies, support confirmatory, as it precisely produces methodologies to support the
researcher s hypothesis (Kimmelman, Mogil Dirnagl, 2014). If the author carried out this study,
they would have followed the rationalist approach to get the insider perspectives of others, rather
than the outside facts of child services. Correspondingly, following exploratory approach as it
provides new information the author had not previously researched, improving future outcomes for
services, by offering new ideas for services.
The findings of the data were valid as it captured what their aims were (Hardicre, 2014),
nevertheless, the participant s knowledge limited them to answer current service provisions,
therefore, the findings cannot be an accurate summary of what is available. Using semi structured
interviews were a suitable way of getting data from participants as they were able to answer most
of the questions to the best of their knowledge,

How Did Knights Affect Feudalism
Did you know that knights didn t just fight? Vassals impacted feudalism in many ways. Feudalism
was a system in which all classes needed each other. The church was a part of feudalism and laws
were another way that knights helped with feudalism. The job of the vassal helped feudalism meet
the need of its people.
Knights had many jobs within feudalism. One of the knights jobs was to fight when it was a time
of war. Most of the knights only served in battle when they were called for war by their lord
(Norman 122). If needed, all of a lord s vassals got called to war (Norman 123). The number of
days they would go out to fight varied from castle to castle (Norman 125). Knights were obligated
to do other duties besides to fight in wars. Another duty of the knights was guarding the castles of
their lords (Norman 124). Knights gave protection to the manor (Hooper, Bennett 156). A piece of a

this by making the great chain of being (Richardson). The great chain of being said that everything

Essay on Doppelganger and King Kong English Speech
Introduction:
Good morning/afternoon class and *teacher*, today I will be speaking about how Michael Parker,
the author of Doppelganger and Peter Jackson, the director of the film King Kong, accurately
portray the main concept of the Beast Within through the symbolism of masks and the notions of
betrayal and duplicity. I will be talking about Josh and Andrew from Doppelganger, Carl Denham
and the people that he manipulated and affected through his deception, from King Kong and explain
their contributions to the main idea of the Beast Within, how they wear a mask and how they
portray the concepts of Duplicity and Betrayal.

The fact that Josh gave Andrew the QZ45 meant that there is now a whole new series of events
that affect the storyline; Andrew ends up killing boy because the QZ45 has a mental and
physical effect, where the taker feels ready to fight or kill . In this case, boy makes Andrew
angry, by slashing him with a knife during the chase in the tunnels, and Andrew goes on a crazy
rampage and kills boy. Andrew soon becomes very guilty that he killed boy because he realises
that in the normal Sydney boy is a kid named Derek, who dies in a car crash, which makes
Andrew logically believe that if one person is killed in the Dystopic Sydney, this same
happening will reflect in a slightly different manner, in the normal Sydney. Josh also
demonstrates the concept of the Beast Within through the plain evil of what he did to Andrew,
the evil intentions of Josh were the reason why he did it, it wasn t to save anyone s life, like
Andrew ends up doing later on in the text, but it was all part of Josh s scheme to become the
owner of the metsin factory so that he could become the richest and most famous person in the
Dystopic Sydney, he was willing to kill many people to get his desire and he managed to get a
whole gang of hallboys to listen to him and do it.

  • 2. Impact Of Globalization Impact of Globalization Jan Aart Scholte states that Some people have associated globalization with progress, prosperity and peace. For others, however, the word has conjured up deprivation, disaster and doom. Globalization is truly a complex phenomenon. It indicates that the world today is getting smaller because people from all around the world are interconnect than before. Globalization is driven by a combination of economic, technological, sociocultural, and political factors. In this paper I will discuss the impact of globalization on society: at social, cultural, economic and political level. (Kivisto) (Viswanathan) (Pacific) (R.) Additionally, globalization allows us to explore different religions, which we were unable to reach previously due to the distance. At present, one can be sitting in Alaska and exploring Buddhism, Jainism, Hinduism, Chinese traditional religion or various African/native American religions and learning about it. While in the past, person had limited choices, they could learn the only one religion that local spiritual teachers could teach. Although now, you have the option of learning multiple religion and follow the one that brings inner most peace for you. Although, we are getting multicultural and slowly accepting the diversity of human culture; were people will respect each human being and accept their cultural beliefs. Moreover, in the globally connected world, we might not be as blended as many people concern off. For instance, over the Internet the standard form of language is English because it is considered as the world s common language. At the same time, internet also has a facility for the speakers of various small languages, to get connected and build common ideas. It is defined as uniting the worship of many Gods with a belief in a single divine reality. (Molloy, 2015, p.75). Hinduism is not a single, undefined religion; it is more like a family or beliefs (Molloy, 2015, p.75). • 4. Everything Stuck To Him By Raymond Carver Analysis Everything Stuck to Him , by Raymond Carver, is an enthralling piece of literature that eloquently depicts a short frame story centered on a nuclear family of three. The frame story progressively shifts from a woman in Milan asking her father to tell her more about her childhood to another story that the father narrates about a young boy with a wife and a baby. Carver does an excellent job astutely using a minimalist style, word choice, and symbolism to enhance and develop his narrative, Everything Stuck to Him . Compared to the extravagant and enigmatic writing style that a lot of authors prefer, Carver chooses to employ a minimalist style in Everything Stuck to Him , which means his sentences are devoid of elaborate details, explanations,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Aforementioned, Carver is a minimalist writer, so his diction is rather intelligible on a denotative level. To go along with his style, Carver leaves out quite a few key components in his diction, forcing the reader to, once again, make their own interpretations about the frame story. Throughout the story, Carver never names the characters, which some may think is because of the characters ongoing struggle to find their identities, while others may interpret this as a concept that makes the story more relatable since the reader is able to identify more with the character. Carver also uses the words girl and boy to describe the subjects of his frame story instead of woman and man , which could be his way of emphasizing the immaturity and inexperience of the young couple. Additionally, Carvers utilizes diction to casually imply that the girl, or the woman s mother, is no longer around in the present, while not directly stating this. In his frame story, Everything Stuck to Him , Carver uses precise word choice to enhance his narrative by leaving out specific details that forces the readers to draw their own conclusions, adding to the minimalistic aspect of the ... • 5. Women s Role in Society in Pride and Prejudice, by Jane... Over the centuries, women s duties or roles in the home and in the work force have arguably changed for the better. In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen teaches the reader about reputation and loves in the nineteenth and twenty first centuries by showing how Elizabeth shows up in a muddy dress, declines a marriage proposal and how women have changed over time. Anything a woman does is reflected on her future and how other people look at her. When Elizabeth shows up to the Bingley s in a muddy dress they categorize her as being low class and unfashionable. Charles Bingley, a rich attractive man, and his sister had a reputation to protect by not letting their brother marry a low class girl . Reputation even today and back in the nineteenth... The richest, best looking men were usually married off first that is why when Mr. Bingley came to town everybody introduced their daughters to him and his family. Mrs. Bennet say to her husband Mr. Bennet, who usually ignored her, It is truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be want for a wife (Austen 1 2) A rich man did not need a wife as much as a woman needed a man. A rich single good looking man, like most of the bachelors in the novel, was every girls dream; a girl s father could only introduce his daughter to a man. In the novel Mrs. Bennet begs her husband to introduce their girls to Charles Bingley, even though Mr. Bennet already met up with Mr. Bingley and already had plans for him to meet his daughters. A girl or mother were not allowed to introduce themselves to a man, when Mrs. Bennet says to her husband It will be no use to us, if twenty such come, since you will not visit them (Austen 32) Only being able to meet someone through a father s approval and introducing of his daughters shows how powerless women were in the fact they could not make their own decisions. • 9. Theme Of The Metamorrphosis And It s A Wonderful Life The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka and the movie It s a Wonderful Life, directed by Francis Copra, don t seem to have a lot in common at first glance. One is an old novella taught in literature classes, and the other is a Christmas movie, but if you look closer you can see they share common themes of unhappiness, transformation, and dependence on family support. In both The Metamorphosisand It s a Wonderful Life the main characters are unhappy in their lives, and go through a transformation where they see what their lives are like without them. We will examine the characters, the journeys they went through, and the different outcomes of similar experiences. George s transformation in It s a Wonderful Life starts with James Steward s character George s unhappiness. His job, which he never wanted to get stuck with in the first place, is going bad, and he feels like nothing he does makes any difference. He is about to get blamed for something he didn t do and is backed into a corner. This is when George s transformation begins. His unhappiness is compounded when his business is failing and he is blamed. He is threatened with prison and ruin. He is unable to keep it together for Christmas Eve. He sees his life as a life of sacrifice for his friends, family, and the good of the town, and he sees it as all for nothing. All his efforts are leading to his ruin. When he goes home after the money is missing, and after realizing all the implications that are attached to that, the stress is compounded by his family. His daughter is sick, the piano is playing the same thing over and over. He is bombarded with questions and the problems pile up until he loses his temper. He feels that he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and it is all crashing down. Nothing he does is good enough, and nothing he has done would stop him from going to prison if he couldn t come up with money. That is when he remembers his life insurance. If he died the bank would be taken care of and his family would be taken care of. If he died he wouldn t be stuck in the same old town, with all the responsibility. He stands on the bridge ready to jump and wishes he had never been born, He gets his wish and is shown what life would be like ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Now the U.S. is coming up on the next election and we need someone who can fix these issues and problems. That s where James Stuart Gilmore, who wishes to be known as Jim, comes in. Jim Gilmore is a 66 year old man who grew up in the working class area of Richmond, Virginia. He is a Republican candidate who has served in the Army, as the governor of Virginia, and is a member of the National Rifle Association s Board of Directors still to this day. (2)He would be focussed on the issues of the U.S. and bring the U.S. back its potential. I am committed to addressing the central problems facing the nation, is Jim Gilmore s exact words when he announced he is running for president. (3) I believe Jim Gilmore would be a good president for this nation because of his stance on gun control, foreign relations, and abortion which are major problems in the U.S. today. There are many problems in the U.S but Jim Gilmore is focusing on three that have been troubling the U.S. There have been many questions on abortion. Should it be legal? Should there be a time range? Should it be banned? There has even been religion brought into the fight. Jim Gilmore says that it shouldn t be allowed before eight weeks of pregnancy and no later than twelve weeks of pregnancy. (1) Gun control has also caused a havoc in America. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In our world it is easier to have a broken bone than a broken mind. The strategies of teaching will be used to help students achieve their reading goals. In areas such as mathematics, developing teacher content knowledge has been a major concern because it is generally accepted that teachers who know these subjects are better able to teach them. As teachers, we need to research strategies that can be used to teach students how to read in every content area. Our focus in this literature review will be on mathematics and how teachers can find different strategies and activities to use to help students learn to read and also to use prior knowledge as they implement these strategies. Pavlov and Watson s work encouraged him to attend Harvard graduate school where he studied behavior. He made changes in the rate of behavior a standard measure of learning: made the individual, rather that the group, the object of experimental study; and suggested ways that a natural science of behavior could be applied to medicine, work, child rearing, education and other fields (Learning and Behavior pg#136 137). Skinner worked with rats by placing them in boxes and providing them with different reinforcements. He would teach them a different behavior by providing obstacles in order to shape those behaviors. Positive reinforcement strengthens a behavior by providing a consequence an individual finds rewarding (simplypsychology.org). The reinforcement was the food The rats quickly learned to go straight to the lever after a few times of being put in the box. The consequence of receiving food if they pressed the lever ensured that they would repeat the action again and again (simplypsychology.org). When I became a mother, I always knew that by rewarding my children with praises or food it would make them feel special. But I had no idea on how it would shape their behavior. Some go unnoticed for the affected individual s life. Others, like cancer causing mutations, are detrimental and occasionally deadly. These mutations are either categorized as somatic or hereditary and each effect individuals in different manners. Somatic mutations are acquired. This means they happen later in life, cannot be passed down, and only affect certain cells. Hereditary mutations are inherited from parents and can continue for generations. They affect almost every cell in the body and are with the affected individual for life. With androgeninsensitivity the inheritance pattern is X linked recessive making it hereditary and passed... While there are three phenotypes for androgen insensitivity, for the purpose of this particular paper, the complete androgen insensitivity syndrome phenotype will be the one elaborated upon. The typical phenotype for someone with androgen insensitivity is hyper feminization of a male (with XY sex chromosomes) to the point where the genitalia are not masculine and may contain elementary mГјllerian structures (Gottlieb et al. 1999). The male embryo should produce a protein in the womb known as the Anti MГјllerian hormone which is facilitated by the AMH gene a cluster of proteins that ensures sex differentiation occurs in fetal development. It is entirely possible that a male embryo does not release the Anti MГјllerian hormone because the testis are not suppressing the mГјllerian structures. In turn the wolffian ducts, structures that include the epididymis, vas deferens, and seminal vesicles, only partially die. Partially is used here because there are both male and female characteristics presented by those with androgen insensitivity. AMH should interact with the Anti MГјllerian hormone receptors to target the MГјllerian ducts and kill the structures. Without the supressment rudimentary MГјllerian structures begin to present themselves, since the embryo is genetically male and has more development to do to characterize itself as such the structures do not get fully finished. These structures would hold the ability to produce female characteristics as they would need to serve their purpose in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The population on earth is thought to increase to nine billion by the year 2050. To support this population, the application of biotechnology is used to modify foods. The reason why foods are genetically modified is to produce better quality food which can also fight off pests, insects, weeds and diseases. Not only can you insert genes to induce these effects, you can also insert genes to produce medicines which is called biopharming. • 33. My Father Research Paper The person who I consider to be the biggest role model in my life is my father. My father has been a role model for me ever since I was young, he was the one to show me that if I wanted to succeed then I had to do so with my own knowledge and with my own capabilities. He was never the person to shield me from the realities of the world, but at the same time he helped me to understand what was happening and how these world problems could potentially affect me. He was the one to show me that life will continue to happen whether or not I was prepared to do so. My father conveyed to me the importance of searching for opportunities instead of letting them come to me because life does not work that way. Life is not just going to provide me with help if I do not give an honest attempt to produce results myself. As a child I looked up to my father, especially since growing up I was the oldest child of the family. I did not have an older sibling to look up to and to learn from like my younger siblings which is what made it possible for me to look up to my father. A main reason that I had for looking up to my father was due to his strong commitment to go heritage and culture. The fact that my father came to this country as an immigrant from mexico and he came to this country without anything. No knowledge of the country and its language, just the basic necessities of life which was some clothes and money, amazed me. Additionally, my father played as a substantial role model in how I entered society because of the fact that I grew up not speaking english and so growing up and going to school was difficult to do since I did not really understand much and it wasn t until a few years of ESL where I began to pick up english and a more centered idea of the world. As a result, I wanted to be able to be a good role model for her and to be able to inspire her to follow her dreams and to have a more optimistic perspective. I considered my father to be my role model because he is someone who I believe is intelligent, hardworking and honest. He was someone who was always pushing my sister and I to continue taking challenges that will help us develop into stronger and knowledgeable young individuals. As an individual who never ... Shannon Bennett of Thomson Reuters takes a look at the shifts in active ingredient sourcing During the past decade, as manufacturers have pursued lower costs and a more favourable regulatory environment, API sourcing has expanded from regulated into less regulated markets. However, sourcing from emerging markets has revealed a variety of challenges which pharmaceuticals companies are continuously working to overcome. The European Generics Association (EGA) recently requested consideration of an EU Bolar Export Provision. This would allow EU generic drugs companies to develop and manufacture products specifically for export to the global market without breaching existing EU patent protection. Such a provision would not only benefit EU companies by levelling the API playing field but would also facilitate the entry and availability of generic drugs in pharmerging markets, where the only available option may be more expensive branded drugs. The future of EU API manufacturing could be influenced by the outcome of other pending initiatives that would require more from companies in terms of investment in and oversight of suppliers. For example, the adoption of the EU s Falsified Medicines Directive requires the verification of all finished dose packs throughout the supply chain, as well as for APIs exported to EU, proving they were produced within quality specifications equivalent to those in EU. Source: Robert Pollack, Lachman Consultants Figure 1 GDUFA fees An additional requirement has been proposed which would require API manufacturers to verify the source of all starting materials, ensuring that they originated from the facilities claimed by the manufacturer of the starting materials. • 35. The Heroes Of Ancient Greek Myths Two Brilliant Heroes in Ancient Greek Myths Who has not heard of heroes in Greek mythology? They are the role models, inspirations, and protagonists in myths. In ancient times, after a long work day, the members of the community have little to no energy remaining, but utilize what strength they have left in a magnificent manner. The citizens meet up, and entertain themselves with myths regarding heroes, monsters, gods and goddesses. However, the most popular myths revolved around heroes, and their adventures. In the majority of myths, heroes participate in impossible adventures, and miraculously, came back with more confidence than they had when they set out. The heroes in these myths are the ones that everyone loves and appreciates. Two examples of famous heroes are Hercules and Achilles. They are two well known heroes that play active roles in myths, and teach valuable life lessons. The two myths and the role of the heroes in them that are analyzed here are two fan favourites: the myth of Hercules and Athena, and the myth of Achilles and the Trojan War. Hercules s adventure begins as soon as he is born. The fact that he is a product of Zeus and a mortal enrages Hera, Zeus s wife, and Hercules suffers. As a result of this, Hera sends two snakes to kill him in his crib. The infant Hercules is unusually strong and strangles the snakes before they can assassinate him. Organizational Cultures Impact on Organizational Structure The first part of this week s assignment was to look at how organizational structure impacts organizational culture and vice versa. But before we look at that let us review what organizational structure and culture are. Organizational culture as defined from the text is the shared values, principles, traditions, and ways of doing things that influence the way organizational members set (Robbins, Decenzo, Coulter, 2013). Also an organization s culture usually reflects the vision or mission of the organization s founders (Robbins, Decenzo, Coulter, 2013). Organizational structure is a hierarchical arrangement of lines of authority, communication, rights and duties of an organization (BusinessDictionary.com, 2013). Organizational structure determines how the roles, power and responsibilities are assigned, controlled, and coordinated, and how information flows between different levels of management (BusinessDictionary.com, 2013). • 39. James Joyce Symbolism The Dead By James Joyce tells the tale of the early twentieth century upper class society in the Irish city of Dublin. The story tells of the characters entrapment, the tragic lives they lead and hiding behind the conventions of their society. This comes together, not only to tell of the individual tragedy of these people s lives, but to tell the tragic story of all of Ireland, as its true problems become obscured in so many ways. The story dramatizes a dialogue between Gabriel s consciousness and unconsciousness. Throughout the story there are several signs of the symbolism theory. Therefore, I will show how symbolism plays an important role in the story The Dead. Joyce lets symbolism flow freely throughout his story. He utilizes his main characters and objects to impress upon the readers his view of Dublins crippled condition. Coupled with his depiction of Dublin s transfixed status through the characters, Joyce illustrates his theme of paralysis through snow. Symbolically representing the cold and dead Dublin due to its uncertain political period. Winter is a time for celebration and holiday but it is also a symbol for eternal sleep and death. Joyce takes on a more deeper meaning, symbolizing how humans are the same way, frozen temporarily in an impermanent state: alive but always dying; just as snow will always melt, human life will always end. Throughout the text all manifestations of winter, cold, white snow and the season itself usually represents mortality. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Identity change is often influenced by many aspects of an individual s life, but individuals must always return to their roots in order to stay true to their morality. This internal struggle over one s identity is successfully illustrated in the characters of Three Day Road. In the novel, Joseph Boyden vividly recounts the journey of two Native Canadian soldiers, Xavier and Elijah, who struggle with identity loss from the adversity of the Great War. Although his British accent appears to be a convoluted joke, Elijah is really abandoning his Cree language in favour of a British accent to please his peers. Despite the native language being an essential part of his childhood identity, Elijah succumbs to the white man s perceived notions of the Cree language being related to witchcraft as he strips away his native language to fit in with the others. Spousal support was original thought of as compensation to a dependent wife for her divorcing husband s breach of marital vows and responsibilities (244). However, modern divorce cases have caused for a rethink of this aged idea. No fault divorces and changes in typical gender roles caused a shift in typical spousal support. To correct this, spousal support was proposed to be seen as a compensation for the dependent spouse s noneconomic support. Basically, the dependent spouse has provided just as much for the family as the primary care taker. If the court see that the dependent spouse s contributions have helped the non dependent spouse s ability to advance in their career, then they should be compensated for this effort. The dependent spouses are no longer entirely dependent on the primary caretaker. If a couple divorces, one spouse is not significantly disadvantaged for sacrificing their career to help the family. The idea of sincerely believing that every move or choice that is made all goes back to the gods and goddesses fascinates me. In ancient Greece, the normal thing was to believe in multiple higher powers instead of today were majority dictates that there is only one higher power. I was aware of some facts about the Greek s belief in the god and goddesses from previous history classes but I have never at the freedom to choose to write a paper solely on them. The goal of my research was to find out what made the gods and goddesses so special to the Greeks and why a civilization would worship them for centuries. The start of believing in the gods and goddesses started as a way to explain daily life and to give life a purpose . Without a reason for living majority of people would descend into madness with no morals. Unlike other religions that had a holy text, mythology was based primarily on word of mouth. The stories were passed down from generation to generation to create the outlandish but captivating mythology that we have in modern society. While there were countless gods and goddesses, students do typically learn the 12 that are called the Olympian Gods . This group was led by Zeus, who is perhaps is the most well known Greek god. The next 11 were named as followed, Athena, Apollo, Poseidon, Hermes, Hera, Aphrodite, Demeter, Ares, Artemis, Hades, Hephaistos, and Dionysus. I have attached a family tree to help showcases how majority of the gods and goddesses were related . Each god had their own followers and were all considered the god of something. For example, Athena is known as the Goddess of Wisdom and Hades is the God of the Dead or God of the Underworld. Greek citizens built large temples to honor a particular god where the god was thought to live. Within these temples, religious ceremonies were not held as we hold mass in a church. Instead, the temple for each god and goddess were considered the living place of whoever it was built in honor to. The most notable would the be the temple to Athena which is showcased in the photo to the left . In each temple, a statue of the god was placed for worshipers to live ... The exporter approach allows flexibility in experiments, and confirmatory use pre specified designs, and hypothesis (Kimmelman, Mogil Dirnagl, 2014). Exploratory studies, support confirmatory, as it precisely produces methodologies to support the researcher s hypothesis (Kimmelman, Mogil Dirnagl, 2014). If the author carried out this study, they would have followed the rationalist approach to get the insider perspectives of others, rather than the outside facts of child services. Correspondingly, following exploratory approach as it provides new information the author had not previously researched, improving future outcomes for services, by offering new ideas for services. The findings of the data were valid as it captured what their aims were (Hardicre, 2014), nevertheless, the participant s knowledge limited them to answer current service provisions, therefore, the findings cannot be an accurate summary of what is available. Using semi structured interviews were a suitable way of getting data from participants as they were able to answer most of the questions to the best of their knowledge, ... The church was a part of feudalism and laws were another way that knights helped with feudalism. The job of the vassal helped feudalism meet the need of its people. Knights had many jobs within feudalism. One of the knights jobs was to fight when it was a time of war. Most of the knights only served in battle when they were called for war by their lord (Norman 122). If needed, all of a lord s vassals got called to war (Norman 123). • 55. Essay on Doppelganger and King Kong English Speech Introduction: Good morning/afternoon class and *teacher*, today I will be speaking about how Michael Parker, the author of Doppelganger and Peter Jackson, the director of the film King Kong, accurately portray the main concept of the Beast Within through the symbolism of masks and the notions of betrayal and duplicity. I will be talking about Josh and Andrew from Doppelganger, Carl Denham and the people that he manipulated and affected through his deception, from King Kong and explain their contributions to the main idea of the Beast Within, how they wear a mask and how they portray the concepts of Duplicity and Betrayal. Body Paragraph 1: (Doppelganger) In Parker s novel, Doppelganger, a key character, Josh, shows that he has a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact that Josh gave Andrew the QZ45 meant that there is now a whole new series of events that affect the storyline; Andrew ends up killing boy because the QZ45 has a mental and physical effect, where the taker feels ready to fight or kill . In this case, boy makes Andrew angry, by slashing him with a knife during the chase in the tunnels, and Andrew goes on a crazy rampage and kills boy. Andrew soon becomes very guilty that he killed boy because he realises that in the normal Sydney boy is a kid named Derek, who dies in a car crash, which makes Andrew logically believe that if one person is killed in the Dystopic Sydney, this same happening will reflect in a slightly different manner, in the normal Sydney. Josh also demonstrates the concept of the Beast Within through the plain evil of what he did to Andrew, the evil intentions of Josh were the reason why he did it, it wasn t to save anyone s life, like Andrew ends up doing later on in the text, but it was all part of Josh s scheme to become the owner of the metsin factory so that he could become the richest and most famous person in the Dystopic Sydney, he was willing to kill many people to get his desire and he managed to get a whole gang of hallboys to listen to him and do it. Body Paragraph 2: (King Kong): In the film, King Kong, Ann Darrow, a key character, is first seen as a nice girl who is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
