2. A Russian Martyr, Ivan Vasilyevich Moiseyev
Dying at only twenty years old doesn t leave much space for someone to do something remarkable,
but for Ivan Moiseyev, it did. Moiseyev was born in 1952, and raised in a Christian home by his two
parents, Vasily Timofeyevich and Ionna Konstantinova, along with his six brothers and sister. In 1968
Ivan finished school at a young age of sixteen and went on to join the Evangelical Christian Baptist
Church (Neerskov, H.K.). In 1970, after about a year and a half of joining the church, Moiseyev gave
his life to the Lord, and obtained a newfound love to preach the Gospel not only in church, but to the
young people of Volontirovka, his hometown. For quite some time, Ivan Moiseyev had the job of a
delivery driver. That is, until November 1970, when Moiseyev got drafted into the Soviet Army for
two years of training and service (Neerskov, H.K.). Since he became such a strong Christian,
Moiseyev was always trying to find a time and place to pray. Eventually, Moiseyev found a room that
stayed empty till ten A.M. Every day, Ivan woke up at five A.M. and went to that room to pray until
nine A.M. (A Russian Martyr, Ivan Vasilyevich Moiseyev). On one particular morning, Ivan was
running late and had to hurry to the morning call; everyone had been waiting for him, and looking
everywhere for him in addition. Ivan had to explain his reason for missing to the commanding officer,
who already knew Moiseyev s position as a believer, and informed Ivan that he would have a

3. Maria Alejandrina Cervantes
María Alejandrina Cervantes is the prostitute in Gabriel García Márquez s novel, Chronicle of a Death
Foretold. Her characterization is a strategic choice to portray prostitutes and prostitution respectably
and honorably. García Márquez uses descriptive words to illuminate the mundane and give praise to
behaviour that would usually be degraded. The biblical references in Maria s name make her more
relatable and depict prostitution honourably. By characterizing María Alejandrina Cervantes
unexpectedly, García Márquez forces a shift in the reader s outlook on prostitution. María Alejandrina
Cervantes enchants the reader and gains their sympathy for her profession through her intriguing and
elusive qualities.

María Alejandrina Cervantes is the one exception. She provides a service to men and teaches them.
She also has power over men, unlike other women in the novel who submit to the will of their
husbands. While providing her service, María Alejandrina Cervantes has control over her male clients.
Moreover, she does not have to worry about losing her virginity, men cannot take her virginity; she
takes men s virginity. Virginity is the most important thing a woman can have in Catholic culture,
María has risen above this and turned it around so that she is in control of others virginity.
García Márquez highlights the most amicable qualities in María Alejandrina Cervantes. Being a
prostitute exempts her from having to follow the confining rules of patriarchy. By not conforming to
the traditional role of a married woman, María Alejandrina Cervantes is able to make her own money.
She doesn t directly depend on a man to support her, although it is ultimately men who provide her
income. María s characterization as an independent, free willed woman is directly juxtaposed to the
restricted lives of the traditional Latin American woman, additionally enforcing the positive elements

4. Disney Princess Stereotypes
Introduction
Written by a collaboration of research authors, Pretty as a Princess: Longitudinal Effects of
Engagement with Disney Princesses on Gender Stereotypes, Body Esteem, and Prosocial Behavior in
Children was published in 2016. Sarah M. Coyne (Brigham Young University), Jennifer Ruh Linder
(Linfield College), Eric E. Rasmussen (Texas Tech University), and David A. Nelson and Victoria
Birkbeck (Brigham Young University) discuss in writing the connotative and denotative effects of a
gender stereotyped society. They research the effects of Disney Princess culture and emphasize the
characteristics developed within the minority of preschool and kindergarten age children, especially
females, that potentially are exposed to the Disney Princess chain. The audience for the author s
message is a wide range of groups and individuals, but, at its widest scope, the research project is
intended for multinational media corporations, specifically those of whom are based in the United
States, target the control group (preschoolers and kindergarteners), and have the opportunity to
incorporate gender stereotypical characters into their products.
Although other readers will also find the results useful, especially other social science workers, the
professional medium and high profile endorsements and financial support given to this project
correlates directly with the large scale audience it is intended for. With respect to the genre through

5. Similarities Between Kojiki And Greek Mythology
Similar myths and legends have been coexisting throughout the world, regardless of eastern and
western cultures, and in different languages. Greek myth is probably the world s most famous and
beloved than any other tale of legends stories. Surprisingly, Greek myth and Japanese myth share
many similarities in the creation of the world and legend stories through their mythologies. Japan s
Kojiki (Record of Ancient Matters) is a collection of Japanese historical records as well as Japanese
mythologies, in which the legend explains the creation of the world and birth of deities. However,
Greek mythologies, on the other hand, do not have an official written record of mythologies or
religious text like the Bible or the Kojiki, but earliest story teller like Homer and Hesiod shared richest
sources in poems, attempt to explain the beginning of the universe in human language.
Both Kojiki and Greek mythologies describe common belief in the creation of the world, in which
gods give birth to another to form the world. In Kojiki, two of the seven gods who came into
existence, Izanagi and Izanami give birth to many nature deities, creating the world. But because
Izanami gives birth to too many deities, she dies while giving birth to the fire deity. In result of her
death, enraged Izanagi kills the fire deity. In contrast, Greek myth describes the creation of the world
with the four gods who came to existences, Gaea (earth) Chaos, Tartarus (Hell), and then Eros. Gaea
asexually gives birth to Uranus (Sky) and marries her son. She then bears three types of gods; the
Titans, the Cyclopes, and the Hecathonchires. However, Uranus repels at the monstrous creatures and
sends Cyclopes and Hecatonchires down to Tartarus (Hell). Frustrated by Uranus s action, Gaea forges
the first sickle, gives it to her youngest son Cronos, and have him punish his father, Uranus. Once
Uranus returns to make love to Gaea, Cronos emasculates him. Here we see the similarities in the
creation of the world by birth and death of God by the hands of another god with fury.
Another similarity can be spotted on the death of the loved ones, in which the god or a hero is visiting
the world of the dead to meet their wives. In Kojiki, after the death of

9. How Is Lady Macbeth s Vaulting Ambition
Ambition is typically seen as a pathway to success, yet in the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare,
it is clearly evident that this is not always the case. As the play progresses, Macbeth s overall
aspirations in order to become king are continually tested. By looking at his overall motives, the
adverse choices which reshape his destiny, and the fatal conclusions based on his insufficient
decisions, we can clearly see how vaulting ambitions can be destructive rather than beneficial. To
begin, Macbeth has many motives which persuade him towards becoming king. Rather than looking at
the negative effects of these motives, Lady Macbeth, prior ambitions and the prophecies all change

ambitions with the wrong motives, can be destructive. Continuing, as the play progresses we begin to

the other brands. I will prove my hypothesis through a scientific experiment comparing three brands
of paper towels. I chose three brands with three very different price points. Am I paying more money

amounts of liquid. I will put each paper towel brand through an absorbency test 4 times to get an

measuring cup. 5. Record how much water was squeezed from the paper towel. 6. Repeat with each
brand of towel and record the data. Repeat each set of trials at least four times for consistency of data.
7. Find the average amount of liquid absorbed by each brand of towel and plot in a bar graph.
My experimental design is set up in such a way that anyone can replicate this experiment with the

the towels down to the same size so only the thickness of each towel comes into play. It is important to
conduct multiple trials to insure the data is consistent.

For example when children learn about the story of language it covers language and where it comes
from but also the culture and the timelines of the story of language. Through an intergraded
curriculum the teacher can reinforce various areas of study without the children feeling that it is
repetitive or being drilled in like the parrot work I had at school. The children then form a better idea
of how interconnected the universe around them is as they are moving into the plane of development
from Concrete to Abstract thinking. It is there for very important that the enlightened generalist
teacher comes up with ways to speak to the child s imagination. The teacher does not only have to be
knowledgeable of the subjects but needs to look at the child s growth in terms of moral learning. By
concentrating on this the child will have an appreciation for life and not only empathize, but apply
what they know and do community projects as a class. The teacher will guide the children into the

13. The Relationship Between China And East Asia Essay
East and west. The relationship between the two has never been truly set in stone. Both Europe and
Asia have been through many large scale power shifts throughout the millennia. Empires have risen
and inevitably been razed. If not by conquerors, then by time itself. These empires were often led by
those who yearned to increase their land and holdings, and because of this the tendrils of civilization
often stretched to seek uncharted territory. This undying curiosity eventually culminated in what is
now referred to as the Age of Discovery, which spanned from the 1500s to the 1800s. By the
beginning of the 20th century, most of the world s lands had already been discovered. Trade links
between China and Europe had been around since the Hellenic Age. And in the year 1900 it had been
124 years since the founding of the United States of America. Cross the Pacific Ocean, and one would
find themselves face to face with the United States distant neighbor, East Asia. In East Asia, two of the
most historically significant nations are China and Japan. For a number of reasons, which will be
detailed further later on the early 1900s were a somewhat tumultuous time for both of said nations.
The 20th century was by and large a time of political and economic power consolidation for both
China and Japan. It is arguable that the United States played an integral role in this consolidation. The

15. My Philosophy Of Education Statement
Philosophy of Education Statement
I believe every child has the abilities to succeed in every area of learning when given a warm, calm
and stimulating atmosphere. A child s success is my main goal. Teaching young children is the most
rewarding job to me because I know with careful and purposeful teaching I can make a difference in
each child s life. I have created learning environments that are exciting and meaningful for young
children. Creativity is one of my main focuses in all areas of learning. I want to see children draw
pictures on plain paper and not color in coloring books, build houses and castles with blocks and not
have a picture design to work from and begin to learn about who they are through imaginative play. I
can learn about each child while observing or playing with them during their creative moments and I
feel these opportunities are priceless.
I believe that teachers and parents are essential advocates for all children. We are the people who
understand our children and their needs first. I have been involved with Parent s as Teachers for over a
decade and I have seen the positive impact organizations like this make on families. When my twins
were born, I was a stay at home mom with three children under two. My son, born as a twin, was

16. What Was Hitler s Rule In Germany
Germany was suffering under the harsh conditions of the treaty of Versailles, the economic downturn
as a result of the Great Depression and the weakness of the Weimar republic all allowed for Adolf
Hitler and the Nazi party to gain control of Germany. The Treaty of Versailles made the government of
Germany look weak because other countries took land away from Germany. The Germans were
paying money to other countries because of all the damage they had done in World War 1. They also
had to take the blame for starting World War I and they could only have an army of 100,000 men.
Germany suffered a lot in the Great Depression which spiralled Germany in despair. Hitler promised
the people that he would bring life back to Germany which meant more money into Germany, more
land and he will bring back Germany s pride. However there were negative aspects to Hitler s rule.
The Nazi party developed a totalitarian rule in Germany; this was enabled through the Nazi parties

17. The Trafficking Of Human Trafficking
Humanity has known since the dawn of history, multiple forms of slavery and it varies from society to
another. As long as people thought that slavery ended, never to return, they go back and sneak into our
communities in severe forms by human trafficking crimes.
When humanity eliminated the phenomenon of human slavery, it returned in different pictures and
forms, combining them enslaving people, through the recruitment, transportation, transfer of people
by force and threat, and using and exploiting them in different ways.
Among the victims of human trafficking crimes, there are those who are subjected to sexual
exploitation, labor exploitation, and removal of organs. These crimes also include the recruitment of
children, forced and early marriage, and forced marriage. Trafficking in persons is a national, global
and international phenomenon, at the same time, where they are moving across the border between the
states by organized crime gangs.
Human trafficking ranks in third place, after drugs and arms trade, in terms of the amounts of money
involved. It is a form of slavery, a violation of human rights, and constitutes a crime against the
individual and the state together, and the crime that affects human security and is the security of the
state alike. It also represents a threat to the sovereignty and security of nations, and a serious violation
of the global economy.

18. Supernatural Character in Octavio Paz s Short Story, My...
Mexican born author, Octavio Paz, in his short story, My Life with the wave suggests the protagonist
is symbolic and then remains a supernatural character best understood in literal terms. He supports his
claim by showing the reader the speakers difficulty of finding a place for the wave out of the ocean,
how the protagonist suffers imprisonment for a crime he did not commit, and of how through the
death of the wave the protagonist is able to free himself from the pain and torment he faced when he
was engaged in a relationship with the wave. Paz s intention is to use the symbolism in order show the
negative side of falling in love. Octavio Paz adopts an intense tone for the somber reader. The short
story Life with the Wave, written by Octavio Paz leads us through an intense relationship between a
simple man and a wave. Octavio Paz uses the wave to symbolize a woman. The wave can also be seen
as changing just as humans do, she was a white plume of vapor then soon...fell in a fine rain (pg. 264).

What are the problems that Sikhs faced from the beginning till now?
From 1400 NOW: Sikh is the Caum (kind of race) which barely most Non Sikh people can figure it
out. Let me start this way: Most of every Sikh was very very great warrior, they are still now and they
will be. If Sikh can t able to get justice, they will get it in various ways, and they did get it many times
in the past hundred years. Sikh holiest Shrines called quot; Darbar Sahib quot; quot; Golden Temple

Current Issues:

common problem is Political; people face this problem only in India. By saying Political problems I
mean Corruption in Government offices, lack of good education, poor economy in which rich people
are getting rich and poor people are getting poor. Every politician in India is crooked, I mean
everybody from police officer to Governor. Second most problems that today s Sikh faces are the
social religious issues. For example: Many people think that eating meat is allowed in Sikhism, which
100% wrong, another example is that many people cut their hair thinking that keeping hair long is not
so important, which is also 100% wrong. There are lot of wrong things are happening, which people

23. British Sculptor Phyllida Barlow
untitled: dock, the latest work from British sculptor Phyllida Barlow, is also colossal and monumental
in scale. The sculpture was commissioned by Tate Britain for its Duveen Gallery. The annual
commission, sponsored by Sotheby s, invites artists to make work in response to Tate s collection of
British art bridging the gap between its historic and contemporary works. The commission is
displayed every year from March to October. Tate Britain, part of England s five gallery network of
Tate spaces, has been on a mission to redefine itself since the creation of Tate Modern in 2000. At that
time the majority of Tate Britain s post 1900 collection of artworks were rehoused into Tate Modern.
Tate Britain has gone through two major refurbishments since and relies heavily on events, like this
commission, to maintain its resonance with modern audiences. Therefore, untitled: dock is
monumentally important to the museum s calendar. The Duveen Gallery opened in 1937 as a
dedicated sculpture space at the heart of Tate s riverside property. The gallery is a vaulted, 100 meter
long, tubular space lined with marble. untitled: dock fills the Duveen space in its entirety. Barlow s

24. The Perks Of Public Ownership
The Perks of Public Ownership The theories of why firms go public provide insight into why firms go
private because they examine many of the costs and benefits of being a public firm (Bharath; p6,
2009). Firms turn to listing for a number of different reasons. The motivations for an IPO tend to
differ across firms and countries, but in general, going public allows for enhanced external
monitoring, ability to raise capital for growth and acquisitions, increase in investor recognition, as
well as allowing a company to strengthen its bargaining power with creditors. Access to Capital One
of the main reasons that firms choose to list on public markets is so they can gain access to equity
capital. As Roell** puts forward, access to new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alongside this, Kim Weisbach** analysed numerous IPOs from over 38 countries, it was found that
almost all the firms they studied had raised substantial amounts of new capital from their IPOs (2008).
The cost of capital plays a large factor in this phenomenon. By listing themselves on the public
markets, the visibility of a firm increases, by using this status firms can create competition between
suppliers of finance, allowing the firm to negotiate private capital at more competitive rates, thereby
creating cheaper finance. Pagano** found that Italian firms executing an IPO would experience a
0.3% reduction in their cost of credit after they became public (2008). To highlight the point even
further, we can bring forward the situation of a single financing source that, as put forward by
Chemmanur et al, will be less than fully diversified, and will have considerably more bargaining
power relative to the entrepreneur (p269, 1999). Finally, this is supported by the Bancel et al study,
over half of the CFOs agree that the IPO has reinforced the firm s balance of power with bankers and
creditors (p863, 2009). Investor Recognition and Visibility As mentioned briefly in the prior
paragraph, the visibility of firms is elevated post listing, and this is another main factor as to why
firms go public. Not only does this act to lower the cost of capital, but as Stoughton et al** mention,
by going public the firm has
