How Does Pope Francis Laudato Talk
Pope Francis Laudato Si shows that the relationships between God, humans, and the earth are
intertwined, and that better understanding theology as God talk helps people to better understand those
relationships. Drawing from numerous sources including the Catechism, Christian tradition, past
popes, saints, and bishops from New Zealand, Canada, and Brazil, Pope Francis fabricates an
encyclical discussing these relationships and connections, leading to extensive explanation of integral
ecology. Theology is commonly defined as the study of God but a more authentic definition is that it is
God talk (lecture). Theo translates to God and logos translates to logic, language, and reason (lecture).
The sources of theology are scripture, tradition, and experience (lecture). Scripture being the text of
the Bible, tradition meaning a collection of beliefs, practices, habits of a group over time, and
experience being the history of experience of those before them and insights of experts and non
Christians (lecture). Theological language is .Theological language works as ongoing and open ended

quest is ingrained in the three element: (1) the incomprehensible, ineffable, and incomparable nature
of God, (2) the search is continual and universal humans crave understanding a deeper relationship
with God, and (3) the search is made new because of the changing history of human cultures

According to the textbook, nurses in various settings are adopting a research based (or evidence

Comparative Essay On Traditional Architecture Vs. Modern...
TRADITIONAL ARCHITECTURE VS MODERN ARCHITECTURE
We are used to hear the word architecture is always accompanied by the word of art. As all the books
of historical and private architecture references said the art triangle is: architecture, sculpture and
painting. Architecture was on the top of the list, or the leader of Fine Arts so that s why it named by
Romanian as a mother of the art.
Architecture is not just a kind of the art because it grew up and formed as a scientific basis of social to
achieve the necessities of life. therefore, the human spent an effort on it since inception Day.
Architecture has to do with planning, designing and constructing form, space and ambience to reflect
functional, technical, social, environmental and aesthetic considerations.
In general you can say Architecture is human, it s for us, for people and their systematic arrangement
of information or ideas, and it is an integral part of our everyday life. It requires the creative
manipulation and coordination of materials and technology, and of light and shadow. Often,
conflicting requirements must be resolved.
Nowadays, as we known the architectural community has had a strong and continuing interest in
traditional and modern architecture. Architecture, this word possesses an ... Show more content on

The Use of Electroconvulsive Therapy in Patients with...
The Use of Electroconvulsive Therapy in Patients with Severe Depression or Schizophrenia In
surveys, individuals with both a history of severe depression and a history of physical trauma due to
an accident ranked the pain of mental illness as much worse than that of physical trauma (Isaac 5).
Mental illnesses cause immense suffering and potentially even death; in the year 2000, the suicide rate
of patients suffering from depression was estimated at fifteen percent. This is a testament to the fact
that mental illnesses such as depression and schizophrenia are serious issues, and those suffering from
them deserve the most effective treatment available. Many psychiatrists turn to anti depressants and
talk therapy in attempts to heal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The origin of these skeptical and fearful preconceptions is the imperfect history of the practice. The
most primitive forms of electroconvulsive therapy began in the 1930s, with the injection of various
chemicals into mental health patients, inducing seizures. The first published reports of such treatments
came from Ladislas Meduna, a Hungarian neuropsychiatrist whose experiments sparked the interest of
clinicians worldwide (Fink, Electroconvulsive 1). The first account of actual electroconvulsive therapy
was in 1938 in Italy; neurologist Ugo Cerletti, and his assistant Lucio Bini, applied electrodes on both
temples of the patient, and passed electricity through the brain, causing the patient to have a seizure
(Fink, Electroconvulsive 2). The earliest ECT procedures were administered without anesthesia or
muscle relaxants, and the seizures it induced were brutal, often resulting in fractures and severe
memory loss. However, the success of this experimentation outweighed the trepidation it created, and
the use of ECT progressed, using Cerletti s studies as a foundation and orienting around the use of
electric currents instead of chemicals. Despite its growing popularity and usage, through the 1950s,
the procedure was administered recklessly, still lacking the use of anesthetics or muscle relaxants, and
intensifying negative effects with implementation of a higher, more dangerous level of electrical
current (Electroconvulsive Mayo 4 5). During the

Wang Lung And O-Lan Analysis
Wang Lung and O lan had a very close connection to their land. He builds this connection to earth of
how the earth has done everything for him. And once his life is over he will be part of the earth and he
will provide for the next generation.
Buck gives the impression that Wang Lung is very greedy and doesn t like to give away his silver
because wealth corrupts. He had to earn the silver with his time and when you give it away you are
giving away your life.
Wang Lung becomes sexist when he says a female is considered a person who no one wants. He then
begins to pray for the child to die due to smallpox and it being female. He doesn t want to care for the
child because it is female. If it was his son he would think otherwise.

Wang Lung believes that now that he has a newborn female he has been having troubles. He instantly

Karl Marx and The Russian Revolution Essay example
Karl Marx, a German philosopher, is known for his revolutionary political ideas during the Russian
Revolution. He established the idea of materialist conception of history , meaning how society and the

manuscript called The German Ideology. While writing The German Ideology, Marx also joined the
Communist League, an international proletarian organization, and wrote a polemic against P.J.

Bolsheviks were members of a section of the Russian Social Democratic Worker s party. The section
was led by Vladimir Lenin, who helped the group seize control of Russia, beginning the Soviet Union.
Bolsheviks were founded when supporters of Lenin fought for restriction of membership to
professional revolutionaries, and won. They maintained a highly consolidated, well ordered, and
professional party. The group became gradually popular among workers and solders after Lenin
demanded peace and insisted that the soviets, worker s councils, should be in power. This rise in
popularity is what drove the Bolsheviks to take over the Russian government and set a dominant
power, the Soviet Union.
Czar Nicholas II was the last supreme leader of Russia. He was opposed to any and all social reform
and stood rooted in his traditional principles. He was considered an incompetent leader, forcing
outdated policies upon the Russian people, especially since he ruled during such a revolutionary time.
His neglect of the Russian citizens and their needs is what established the beginnings of the
revolution. In 1917 he was ousted and went into exile.

Analysis Of Warriors DonT Cry
Both African Americans and White Americans were used to living a segregated life, despite the
occasional frustrations that the younger generations would have. It was a life that they were born into,
but it could all be turned upside down in the years to come for the 1950`s were about to bring an
unexpected change. The memoir Warriors don t cry by Melba Pattillo Beals shed light on the situation.
The focus point of this story is the little rock nine who were at the center of all the hate and support
for integration. The blacks and whites each had their own point of view on the idea of integrating
these kids into a white school. They would be the deciding factor of whether these nine African
Americans would make it through the school year. It was obvious that most blacks would support the
integration and interestingly enough there was a few silent whites that did as well. Despite this there
was still a large number of community members who opposed this movement and showed this with
hatred and violence. As a community, people would hope that each side would come together in aiding
each other through the integration process. Instead of uniting, the community was torn into four
different groups by the fear brought on by the integration of the Little Rock Nine into Central High.
Segregation wasn t kind to anyone, especially the African Americans as each item in their daily lives
was labeled in bold letters, colored. As Melba Beals one of the nine described segregation as The

Conrad Reed at Little Meadow Creek. The Conrad family who found this rock didn t know what it
was or who it belonged to or neither did they know what it was made out of. The family looked at the
rock and found out it was a seventeen pound rock made of gold but now called a golden nugget. After
all, they found more gold that came from the creek eventually this made the Conrad s family and

Humphrey Bissell, of Charleston, bought part of the McCombie Mine and brought with him not only
new technology but also men experienced in South American mining. Many of the immigrants who
came to North Carolina during the gold rush were single men young or middle aged, ambitions, and
hardworking. Unaccompanied by women or children, they were able to move freely from one mining
area to another. When gold was found in other southern states and then in California in 1848, many
moved out of the area. The Cornish miners, however, had often moved with their families. They were
known to be skilled, superstitious, clannish, and strongly Methodist. Unlike the single prospectors
who followed the gold to California, the Yukon, and beyond, many of these Cornish miners and their
families stayed in North Carolina, in the lode mining centers of Charlotte and especially Gold Hill in
Rowan County.
The Cornish culture is a unique culture within Great Britain, much like the Welsh or Scottish, with its
own dialect and customs. But because the Cornish also spoke English, they and their descendants
quickly melded into American life, and their cultural influence is not easy to Pinpoint. The influence
that they had on North Carolina s emerging industries, however, is unmistakable. In the early 1800s,
North Carolina acquired the nickname The Rip Van Winkle State , because so little progress was made

What Is Australia s Journey To Gallipoli
The journey to Gallipoli for the young Australian boys was quite an adventure but it had diabolical
consequences for some of them. In Gallipoli, Peter Weir explores the hard journeys the young
Australians had to endure. Because the soldiers hadn t any idea what they were getting themselves
into, when they arrived the repercussions were tremendous. The journey through Australia, to Egypt
and then to Turkey was not pleasant for the young soldiers because they were all so far from the places
they knew and it was such a long, hard journey. In the film the young Australians had a lot of new
experiences being so far from home and they also lost a lot of their innocence from being so exposed
to death and destruction.

Caesar Augustus Contributions
History is made up of individuals who were just living the life they wanted to live. Their actions ended
up making an impact on our world as we know it. At the time they probably had no clue that the
actions they put forth in their time would eventually lead up to the world we know today. Their life
events may not have been grand, but they were enough to make an impact. Caesar Augustus is one
example of a person in history who led a successful life.
Born Gaius Octavius on September 23, 63 B.C., in Velletri, Italy. Augustus was a sickly child with few
connections. Although, one connection he did have was being the great nephew of Julius Caesar.
Augustus was known by three different names throughout his life. From birth to 44 B.C. he was
known as Octavius, in 44 B.C. he was adopted and changed his name to Octavian and in 26 B.C. the
Roman Senate conferred on him the name Augustus. His father was a senator and governor in the
Roman Republic and passed away when Augustus was four years old; his mother Atai was Caesar s
niece. In his younger years his grandmother Julia Ceasaris helped raise him; she was the sister of
Julius Caesar.
Augustus donned the toga, the Roman sign of manhood, at age 16, and began taking on
responsibilities through his family connections. At the time Rome was dangerous and engulfed in a
civil war, one faction of the war was led by his great uncle Caesar. He started on his path of
responsibilities by leaving for Hispania to fight alongside his

I was ready to be on the sideline at games cheering the team on, going to the different pap rally s,

I would be an active student throughout my four years there, and I m going to do just that. Me and

especially with European Catholics, and they split their churches from Catholics. The Byzantines also

Substitution Reactions ( Sn2 And Sn )
Using various alcohols, the substitution reactions (Sn2 and Sn) were utilized by helping with which
functional groups reacted, in which way. Developing a mechanism for the alcohols are discussed.
This journal inspects the substitution reactions occurring in the alcohol containing compounds. When
a substitution reaction transpires, it substitutes one sigma (σ) bond with another sigma (σ) bond. In
substitution reactions, there are two types that are focused when working with organic molecules, Sn1
and Sn2.
A Sn1 reaction is a nucleophilic substitution reaction, which has one molecule that is in the rate
determining step of the reaction. This simply means there is one substitution that occurs before the
final product is created. A Sn2 reaction is, also, a nucleophilic substitution reaction. The Sn2 reaction
has two molecules that are in the rate determining step; therefore, two substitutions occur before the
final product is created (reactions occur simultaneously).
The three different types of alcohols that were utilized during this experiment are common in Sn1 and
Sn2 reactions. The reaction that occurs between the alcohol and the solvents are both Sn1 and Sn2
reactions.
While working with reaction 1 there are several different chemical properties to be aware of, 3 Phenyl

The State University Of New York
Introduction
The State University of New York (2014) provides and clear and accurate description of globalization:
Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and
governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by
information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political systems,
on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well being in societies around the
world (The State University of New York, 2014, para 1). Global economics affects the decisions of
firms, governments, and individuals in the United State in many different ways. The World Trade
Organization manages the rules and trade between nations and has a significant impact on intellectual
property rights. Intellectual property rights refer creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and
artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used in commerce (World Intellectual
Property Organization, 2014). The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast free trade and
protectionist theories, analyze how the global environment functions on a micro and macro level
within the context of the World Trade Organization, analyze the two level game theory and how
organizations make financial decisions in a globalized environment, and determine which parties
benefit from either increasing or decreasing trade restriction.

Why I Want to be an Engineer Engineering has been of particular interest to me since I was an
underclassman in high school. During sophomore year in high school, I participated in a program
sponsored by the boy scouts of America called an engineering explorer post. The group met once a
week at a different engineering firm or classroom at the Rochester Institute of Technology to learn
about the different fields of engineering and their job. Through this program, I learned of my passion
for civil engineering. I love solving problems with math and science and helping people go on with
their everyday lives. The world needs engineers and I want to be one of them.
Throughout my childhood, I constantly asked my dad questions about traffic lights, bridges, roads,
and even the sand barrels at the end of a guardrail. I also had an obsession with creating structures
from Lego bricks. I also want to be an engineer so I can build a better world for our generation. I m
most interested in civil engineering because I want to design and construct bridges and roads. As the
infrastructure in America continues to deteriorate, there is a greater and greater need for civil
engineers. Infrastructure fascinates me and I feel creating the next generation of bridges and roads in
America is something I want to be involved with.
The engineering field is also filled with numerous research opportunities. I want to find a way to
design new infrastructure to last longer than the systems being replaced.

This study was done to determine unknown microorganisms that were retrieved from pond water in
Rocklin, California. If the study involves identifying microorganisms from water, various amount of
test are done to find what type of bacterias are in water. The most common bacteria in the genera
Eschericha, Pseudomonas, Acinteobacter, and Aeromons are amongst the top bacteria found in water.
As a result, one or more of these microorganism will be found in the pond water collected. It is
important to specify one of these bacteria in the water sample as it is potentially harmful. Some strains
of Eschericha Coli are known to cause serve gastrointestinal infection, dysentry and even death in
susceptible individuals (Wilson, 2015). Most importantly, it is important to find these species that can
cause danger to humans. So, they can be treated accordantly with the right antibiotics if they presented
any of the side effects.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Culturing/Streak: Trypticase soy agar (TSA) plate: Since the unknown sample contains Gram ( ), it
was appropriate to use this type of agar. Using a sterilized loop a sample was streaked on the TSA.
The purpose of this producer is to allow growth of the unknown sample. Taking extra to prevent
contamination. The inoculated TSA was stored in a plastic bag at room temperature. After two days,
The TSA plate was analyzed through visual examination. In addition, the determination of colony and

Comparing Augustine And Boethius In The City Of Ravenna
By the early fourth century, the Roman Empire already had severe economic, political, and social
problems. While Rome declined decades into the fifth centuries, Christianity flourished. It continued
to grow and expand in influence, and would eventually become the religion of those who destroyed
the empire in the West. During that period, in far different places, two writers would live who saw the
decline of the West: Augustine (354 420) in Roman North Africa and Boethius in the city of Ravenna.
Their writings were to have an enormous impact on the culture of Europe. Augustine was one of the
four important Latin fathers of the church, who were also philosophers and theologians and known as
doctors of the church. There is a concept that Augustine introduces and believes in and it si that God
created everything in the universe at once, not in six days; the six days found in ... Show more content

Augustine warns against taking the Bible lieterally if it flies in the face of reason and observation. He
understood why the Bible was written as it was. He rationalized that while the authors knew the truth
about the nature of the skies, but it was not the intention of the Spirit of God, who spoke through
them, to teach men anything that would not be of use to them for their salvation. It must be realized
that the bible was written by humans, and not necessarily a direct quote from God. Boethius similarly
discusses about something that does not necessarily directly relate but does support and explain how
to understand Augustine s words. He asks how one can reconcile human freedom with the notion of an
all knowing God. If God knows what we do before we do it, how can we be said to be free agents who
must accept responsibility for personal acts? The answer is to look at the problem form the point of
view of God, not from the human vantage point. God lives in eternity. Eternity does not mean

Gary Shteyngart s Super Sad True Love Story
A Super Sad Sorry Awful Novel Gary Shteyngart s novel, Super Sad True Love Story was a New York
bestseller and won the 2011 Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for comic literature. The novel has
been critically acclaimed and given more good reviews than it truthfully deserves. When reading a
novel one expects the writing to pull you in and captivate you with each turn of the page. However,
this is not one of those novels. Motivation for reading this novel began to slip soon into the first
chapter and my class grade is the only reason I was able to complete the reading. The novel is meant
to be written in satire but throughout the entire book, I only found a select few lines witty or amusing.
There are a few appealing things worth mentioning among the atrocity that lies between the covers of
this novel. Each chapter is written in either a diary entry or messages and chats. This technique is
called epistolary which allows for an interesting look at each of the main character s voices. Leonard,
or Lenny, Abramov is the more expressive of the two as he often becomes long winded because of his
detailed descriptions of what he finds beautiful. Eunice is on the other side of the spectrum as she is
brief and concise. The interesting part of the use of emails, chats, ... Show more content on

The novel moves forward several decades into Lenny s life in Europe. He has published his diary and
Eunice s letters into a novel which becomes an international bestseller called Super Sad True Love
Story as well as a television show and a major movie production. In my opinion, this reflects terribly
on the author who seems to be self congratulating himself by writing this into his novel. The book
includes flattering critiques quotes such as, a tribute to literature as it once was. (327). One can find
insulting reviews that still associate him with the final generation of American literary

The Military Forces Who Delivered Exemplary Performance
(Challenge Coins)
Custom coins were primarily used to reward members of the military forces who delivered exemplary
performance. This small coin features the organization s distinctive logo. Members carry it as a proof
of their membership.
The use of Challenge coins started during the World War I where all members of the United States
Navy Force, the Flying Squadron received bronze coins. History shows that one of their pilots
successfully escapes captivity from the German troops. He fled to France, where they accused him of
being a spy and sentenced him to death. The French forces were able to verify his identity through his
bronze coin and saved him from the execution.
Thereafter, the members of the armed forces created the medallion challenge. If a member cannot
present his coin, he needs to pay a drink for the challenger.
Nowadays, custom coins still serve as a symbol of camaraderie and solidarity among unit members.
Its popularity extends to various organizations such as the fire department, police units, school clubs,
weddings and many others. Customized coins feature unique elements distinct to the organization.
Challenge coins are special coins containing inscription of the name and emblem of the organization.
People with significant accomplishments acquire special coins as a form of recognition.
For the military forces, custom coins are prized possessions. Fellow soldiers ensure that they take
home the military coins of killed or wounded members. It is a great

Essay about Divisions Between Women in Jean Rhys’ Wide...
Divisions between Women in Jean Rhys Wide Sargasso Sea
In Jean Rhys Wide Sargasso Sea, a sea of differences engulfs the women, stirring up prejudice and
animosity. Instead of perceiving how much they are alike, these women allow the water to destroy the
bridges between them. They are envious of each other s wealth, leery of each other s premature aging,
and unforgiving towards those who do not belong to their ethnic groups. Differences in economics,
age, and nationality among the women cause misunderstandings and divisions between them.
An economic hierarchy towers above the lush gardens and sparkling waters in the poverty stricken
West Indies. As Tia says to Antoinette: Old time white people nothing but white ... Show more content

There is no sympathy among the black women, however, and Antoinette is correct in stating: The
black people did not hate us quite so much when we were poor. We were white but we had not
escaped and soon we would be dead for we had no money left. What was there to hate? (29) Annette,
too, is frightened of the family s new wealth. Poverty is something to be laughed at, but wealth is
enviable. She knows that the black people can be dangerous and cruel for reasons [Mr Mason] wouldn
t understand (28). Indeed, Tia s eyes grow large when she sees Antoinette s pennies and abandons all
disguises of friendship to steal them through cunning. Christophine also cunningly gets the girls from
the bayside to help with chores without paying them. Every penny matters in the West Indies and the
black women are willing to sacrifice trust and friendship for monetary gain. When Antoinette speaks
of England, one of Christophine s main concerns is the theft of money there: You have money in your
pocket, you look again and bam! No money. Why you want to go to this cold thief place? (92 93).
Antoinette, like her mother Annette, is not concerned with money. She is more concerned about
happiness apart from material goods: But how can [Christophine] know the best thing for me to do,
this ignorant, obstinate old negro woman, who is not certain if there is such a place

Life Of Pi Theme Essay Examples
Theme Essay Life of Pi shows that humans and animals should do anything necessary to survive
whatever challenges they face to live instead of just accepting death. Whatever ways that help one to
survive are necessary, even if they compromise personal values, are vicious, or are wicked. Pi, a
human; a hyena, and a blind man all fight to survive in a variety of ways that are examples of this
thesis. Pi quits his vegetarian diet and also chooses to live on a raft next to a bengal tiger on a lifeboat,
which are both unusual and unconventional choices for him. He satisfies his hunger by quitting being
a vegetarian and eating fish. Pi knows that A lifetime of peaceful vegetarianism [stands] between
[him] and the willful beheading of a fish (Martel 98). In other words, his body needs the fish because
the beheading had to be done (Martel 98) in order to survive. In addition, Pi decides to feed a 450
pound (Martel 61) bengal tiger named Richard Parker for his own self preservation. He acknowledges,
I had to tame him. It was at that moment that I realized this necessity...More likely the worst would
happen: the simple passage of time, in which his animal toughness would easily outlast my human
frailty (Martel 164). This means that Pi fears that the fierce animal strength and power of Richard
Parker would eventually kill and eat him for food. Furthermore, Pi confesses to wanting Richard
Parker to live primarily for Pi s own survival when he states, A part of me did not want

The Great Rift Valley Of Kenya And Tanzania
Their highly energetic and athletic style of dancing, tall stature as well as their signature bright red
clothing are just some of the unique things that define the Maasai. For many centuries, this indigenous
tribe who lives in the vast open spaces of Africa s Great Rift Valley found in the countries of Kenya
and Tanzania, believes that God entrusted them with the cattle. Their lifestyle reflects the natural
environment in which they live in as well as the rich ritual and traditions that they have managed to
preserve today. The Maasai people have a reputation of being brave, responsible and fierce. Their
community has its own way of hierarchal organization where the elder men and warriors are at the top
and the women and children are at the bottom. The core image Maasai people hold with respect to
themselves is that of itunga ana loo ngishu which means people of cattle or entelapu meaning those
who are under cattle (Galaty 4). Most of the rituals and values of the Maasai people depend on their
age and the relationship of the tribe is based on a strict set of rules. The Maasai s patriarchal society,
traditional rituals, and unique food system have made them unique among the other African
Pastoralists.
As I have previously mentioned, men are more dominant than women in the Maasai society. Maasai
men are supposed to protect their homes, maintain water sources, and protect their livestock ( Maasai
Tribe: True Reflection of Africa, 2013). Also, the warriors in the community have

The Wife s Husband And Texas V. Johnson Majority
ACCEPTANCE, Ourselves and Others, A Reflection When wanting to talk to someone about how
people are treated in the world, it is always good to read different sources that are written about it.
Having read and thought about What of This Goldfish Would You Wish? by Etgar Keret, The Wife s
Husband by Ursula K. Le Guin, and Texas v. Johnson Majority Court Opinion by William J. Brennan,
I will show how each story deals with acceptance in how characters are connected, how discrimination
is used, and how each author approaches the subject. The way the characters connect between the
three stories is something to examine. Each of the main characters is beleaguered and in some turmoil
as each tries to solve the problem. In What of This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sergi, in What of This Goldfish..., holds the goldfish for many reasons: education, control, company,
and the last wish. Readers start to see that Sergei didn t realize how sad the enslaved fish was. The
discrimination here was very present because the character was a fish forced to live in a little glass
bowl (Keret 3). This is discrimination at its greatest. The next story, The Wife s Husband, shows
discrimination at the end of the story. When the husband starts to turn back into a human, the wife tells
how she and her children were sickened by his smell. As he transformed into a man, the wife went into
a crazed howl which woke up her children, and her sister. They were so frightened they didn t really
know what to do. They didn t see that husband/father was not going to hurt them. They used their
prejudice against humans to cloud their judgment. Consequently, they came charging after him and he
grabbed a branch as self defense. The husband was not able to talk with them in his human form, and
was killed by the wife s sister (Le Guin). Now, let s examine the text in Texas v. Johnson Majority
Court Opinion by William J. Brennan. It was nice to see that the justices took the time to see all sides
of the situation. They also looked into how their decision would affect the USA in the future. Instead
of just tossing Johnson into prison for burning a flag in protest, the justices stated the

Brain Tumor Research Paper
Brain tumor
Clinical feature
A brain tumor is an abnormal development of tissue in the brain or central spine, which is accountable
for appropriate brain functionality. Brain and spinal cord tumors are atypical growths of tissue found
inside the skull or the bony spinal column, which are the chief constituents of the central nervous
system (CNS). Benign tumors are noncancerous and malignant tumors are cancerous. The central
nervous system (CNS) is accommodated within rigid, bony quarters (i.e., the skull and spinal column),
so any uncharacteristic growth, whether benign or malignant, can place burden on sensitive tissues
and damage function. Tumors that instigate in the brain or spinal cord are called primary tumors.
Causes
Most primary tumors are triggered by out of control growth amid cells that surround and support
neurons. In a trifling number of individuals, primary tumors might arise from particular genetic
ailment (e.g., neurofibromatosis, tuberous sclerosis) or from exposure to radiation or cancer causing
compounds. The reason of most primary tumors remains unidentified. They are not transmissible and,
at this time, not avoidable.

However, some tumor can t be surgically removed owing to their position in the brain. In those
circumstances, chemotherapy and radiation therapy are both choices for killing and shrinking the

side and long term effects of whatsoever treatment is being used with your doctor. There are three
standard kinds of treatment for malignant tumors: surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. New
treatments are continually being researched and used in clinical trials throughout the globe. For some
patients, clinical trials are the finest choice of treatment. Rehabilitation could encompass working with

  • 2. How Does Pope Francis Laudato Talk Pope Francis Laudato Si shows that the relationships between God, humans, and the earth are intertwined, and that better understanding theology as God talk helps people to better understand those relationships. Drawing from numerous sources including the Catechism, Christian tradition, past popes, saints, and bishops from New Zealand, Canada, and Brazil, Pope Francis fabricates an encyclical discussing these relationships and connections, leading to extensive explanation of integral ecology. Theology is commonly defined as the study of God but a more authentic definition is that it is God talk (lecture). Theo translates to God and logos translates to logic, language, and reason (lecture). The sources of theology are scripture, tradition, and experience (lecture). Scripture being the text of the Bible, tradition meaning a collection of beliefs, practices, habits of a group over time, and experience being the history of experience of those before them and insights of experts and non Christians (lecture). Theological language is .Theological language works as ongoing and open ended because humans cannot fully comprehend God. Humanity is journeying a length for God, and this quest is ingrained in the three element: (1) the incomprehensible, ineffable, and incomparable nature of God, (2) the search is continual and universal humans crave understanding a deeper relationship with God, and (3) the search is made new because of the changing history of human cultures ... The Use of Electroconvulsive Therapy in Patients with Severe Depression or Schizophrenia In surveys, individuals with both a history of severe depression and a history of physical trauma due to an accident ranked the pain of mental illness as much worse than that of physical trauma (Isaac 5). Mental illnesses cause immense suffering and potentially even death; in the year 2000, the suicide rate of patients suffering from depression was estimated at fifteen percent. This is a testament to the fact that mental illnesses such as depression and schizophrenia are serious issues, and those suffering from them deserve the most effective treatment available. Many psychiatrists turn to anti depressants and talk therapy in attempts to heal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The origin of these skeptical and fearful preconceptions is the imperfect history of the practice. The most primitive forms of electroconvulsive therapy began in the 1930s, with the injection of various chemicals into mental health patients, inducing seizures. The first published reports of such treatments came from Ladislas Meduna, a Hungarian neuropsychiatrist whose experiments sparked the interest of clinicians worldwide (Fink, Electroconvulsive 1). The first account of actual electroconvulsive therapy was in 1938 in Italy; neurologist Ugo Cerletti, and his assistant Lucio Bini, applied electrodes on both temples of the patient, and passed electricity through the brain, causing the patient to have a seizure (Fink, Electroconvulsive 2). The earliest ECT procedures were administered without anesthesia or muscle relaxants, and the seizures it induced were brutal, often resulting in fractures and severe memory loss. However, the success of this experimentation outweighed the trepidation it created, and the use of ECT progressed, using Cerletti s studies as a foundation and orienting around the use of electric currents instead of chemicals. Despite its growing popularity and usage, through the 1950s, the procedure was administered recklessly, still lacking the use of anesthetics or muscle relaxants, and intensifying negative effects with implementation of a higher, more dangerous level of electrical current (Electroconvulsive Mayo 4 5). They maintained a highly consolidated, well ordered, and professional party. The group became gradually popular among workers and solders after Lenin demanded peace and insisted that the soviets, worker s councils, should be in power. This rise in popularity is what drove the Bolsheviks to take over the Russian government and set a dominant power, the Soviet Union. Czar Nicholas II was the last supreme leader of Russia. It was a life that they were born into, but it could all be turned upside down in the years to come for the 1950`s were about to bring an unexpected change. The memoir Warriors don t cry by Melba Pattillo Beals shed light on the situation. The focus point of this story is the little rock nine who were at the center of all the hate and support for integration. The blacks and whites each had their own point of view on the idea of integrating these kids into a white school. They would be the deciding factor of whether these nine African Americans would make it through the school year. It was obvious that most blacks would support the integration and interestingly enough there was a few silent whites that did as well. Despite this there was still a large number of community members who opposed this movement and showed this with hatred and violence. As a community, people would hope that each side would come together in aiding each other through the integration process. Instead of uniting, the community was torn into four different groups by the fear brought on by the integration of the Little Rock Nine into Central High. Segregation wasn t kind to anyone, especially the African Americans as each item in their daily lives was labeled in bold letters, colored. Humphrey Bissell, of Charleston, bought part of the McCombie Mine and brought with him not only new technology but also men experienced in South American mining. Many of the immigrants who came to North Carolina during the gold rush were single men young or middle aged, ambitions, and hardworking. Unaccompanied by women or children, they were able to move freely from one mining area to another. When gold was found in other southern states and then in California in 1848, many moved out of the area. The Cornish miners, however, had often moved with their families. They were known to be skilled, superstitious, clannish, and strongly Methodist. Unlike the single prospectors who followed the gold to California, the Yukon, and beyond, many of these Cornish miners and their families stayed in North Carolina, in the lode mining centers of Charlotte and especially Gold Hill in Rowan County. • 11. Caesar Augustus Contributions History is made up of individuals who were just living the life they wanted to live. Their actions ended up making an impact on our world as we know it. At the time they probably had no clue that the actions they put forth in their time would eventually lead up to the world we know today. Their life events may not have been grand, but they were enough to make an impact. Caesar Augustus is one example of a person in history who led a successful life. Born Gaius Octavius on September 23, 63 B.C., in Velletri, Italy. Augustus was a sickly child with few connections. Although, one connection he did have was being the great nephew of Julius Caesar. Augustus was known by three different names throughout his life. From birth to 44 B.C. he was known as Octavius, in 44 B.C. he was adopted and changed his name to Octavian and in 26 B.C. the Roman Senate conferred on him the name Augustus. His father was a senator and governor in the Roman Republic and passed away when Augustus was four years old; his mother Atai was Caesar s niece. In his younger years his grandmother Julia Ceasaris helped raise him; she was the sister of Julius Caesar. Augustus donned the toga, the Roman sign of manhood, at age 16, and began taking on responsibilities through his family connections. At the time Rome was dangerous and engulfed in a civil war, one faction of the war was led by his great uncle Caesar. • 17. Substitution Reactions ( Sn2 And Sn ) Using various alcohols, the substitution reactions (Sn2 and Sn) were utilized by helping with which functional groups reacted, in which way. Developing a mechanism for the alcohols are discussed. This journal inspects the substitution reactions occurring in the alcohol containing compounds. When a substitution reaction transpires, it substitutes one sigma (σ) bond with another sigma (σ) bond. In substitution reactions, there are two types that are focused when working with organic molecules, Sn1 and Sn2. A Sn1 reaction is a nucleophilic substitution reaction, which has one molecule that is in the rate determining step of the reaction. This simply means there is one substitution that occurs before the final product is created. A Sn2 reaction is, also, a nucleophilic substitution reaction. The Sn2 reaction has two molecules that are in the rate determining step; therefore, two substitutions occur before the final product is created (reactions occur simultaneously). The three different types of alcohols that were utilized during this experiment are common in Sn1 and Sn2 reactions. The reaction that occurs between the alcohol and the solvents are both Sn1 and Sn2 reactions. While working with reaction 1 there are several different chemical properties to be aware of, 3 Phenyl 1 propanol has a melting point of 18°C. It also has a boiling point of 119°C. The density of the alcohol us 1.001 g/mL. In reaction 2, the boiling point of 2 pentanol is 119°C. The melting point of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The reason why I chose this one was because I thought it would be similar to the cornet, which is just a smaller version of the trumpet, and I know how to play the trumpet. When I first heard it, I thought it sounded like a very bad french horn, but when it s played by someone who actually knows how to play it very well it sounds like a brassy, harsh but clear, horn sound. The State University Of New York Introduction The State University of New York (2014) provides and clear and accurate description of globalization: Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology. This process has effects on the environment, on culture, on political systems, on economic development and prosperity, and on human physical well being in societies around the world (The State University of New York, 2014, para 1). Global economics affects the decisions of firms, governments, and individuals in the United State in many different ways. The World Trade Organization manages the rules and trade between nations and has a significant impact on intellectual property rights. Intellectual property rights refer creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used in commerce (World Intellectual Property Organization, 2014). The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast free trade and protectionist theories, analyze how the global environment functions on a micro and macro level within the context of the World Trade Organization, analyze the two level game theory and how organizations make financial decisions in a globalized environment, and determine which parties benefit from either increasing or decreasing trade restriction. During sophomore year in high school, I participated in a program sponsored by the boy scouts of America called an engineering explorer post. The group met once a week at a different engineering firm or classroom at the Rochester Institute of Technology to learn about the different fields of engineering and their job. Through this program, I learned of my passion for civil engineering. I love solving problems with math and science and helping people go on with their everyday lives. The world needs engineers and I want to be one of them. Throughout my childhood, I constantly asked my dad questions about traffic lights, bridges, roads, and even the sand barrels at the end of a guardrail. I also had an obsession with creating structures from Lego bricks. I also want to be an engineer so I can build a better world for our generation. I m most interested in civil engineering because I want to design and construct bridges and roads. As the infrastructure in America continues to deteriorate, there is a greater and greater need for civil engineers. Infrastructure fascinates me and I feel creating the next generation of bridges and roads in America is something I want to be involved with. The engineering field is also filled with numerous research opportunities. I want to find a way to design new infrastructure to last longer than the systems being replaced. ... While Rome declined decades into the fifth centuries, Christianity flourished. The novel has been critically acclaimed and given more good reviews than it truthfully deserves. When reading a novel one expects the writing to pull you in and captivate you with each turn of the page. However, this is not one of those novels. Motivation for reading this novel began to slip soon into the first chapter and my class grade is the only reason I was able to complete the reading. The novel is meant to be written in satire but throughout the entire book, I only found a select few lines witty or amusing. There are a few appealing things worth mentioning among the atrocity that lies between the covers of this novel. Each chapter is written in either a diary entry or messages and chats. This technique is called epistolary which allows for an interesting look at each of the main character s voices. For many centuries, this indigenous tribe who lives in the vast open spaces of Africa s Great Rift Valley found in the countries of Kenya and Tanzania, believes that God entrusted them with the cattle. The Maasai people have a reputation of being brave, responsible and fierce. Readers start to see that Sergei didn t realize how sad the enslaved fish was. The discrimination here was very present because the character was a fish forced to live in a little glass bowl (Keret 3). This is discrimination at its greatest. The next story, The Wife s Husband, shows discrimination at the end of the story. When the husband starts to turn back into a human, the wife tells how she and her children were sickened by his smell. As he transformed into a man, the wife went into a crazed howl which woke up her children, and her sister. They were so frightened they didn t really know what to do. They didn t see that husband/father was not going to hurt them. They used their prejudice against humans to cloud their judgment. Consequently, they came charging after him and he grabbed a branch as self defense. The husband was not able to talk with them in his human form, and was killed by the wife s sister (Le Guin). Now, let s examine the text in Texas v. Johnson Majority Court Opinion by William J. Brennan. It was nice to see that the justices took the time to see all sides of the situation. Brain Tumor Research Paper Brain tumor Clinical feature A brain tumor is an abnormal development of tissue in the brain or central spine, which is accountable for appropriate brain functionality. Brain and spinal cord tumors are atypical growths of tissue found inside the skull or the bony spinal column, which are the chief constituents of the central nervous system (CNS). Benign tumors are noncancerous and malignant tumors are cancerous. The central nervous system (CNS) is accommodated within rigid, bony quarters (i.e., the skull and spinal column), so any uncharacteristic growth, whether benign or malignant, can place burden on sensitive tissues and damage function.
