How To Write A Self Assessment Essay
Crafting an essay on the intricacies of composing a self-assessment essay may seem deceptively
straightforward at first glance, yet delving into the task reveals a tapestry of challenges that
require careful navigation. The inherent paradox lies in the fact that the very subject matter
necessitates a deep introspective exploration, making objectivity a delicate tightrope walk.
To begin with, the process involves an intimate journey into one's own experiences, strengths,
weaknesses, and personal growth – a task that demands both self-awareness and humility.
Translating these reflections into a coherent narrative requires not just adept writing skills but
also a nuanced understanding of one's own narrative. The risk of either underplaying one's
achievements or veering into self-aggrandizement adds an additional layer of complexity.
Furthermore, striking the right balance between introspection and external perspectives poses a
challenge. The essay should not only reflect a profound understanding of oneself but also
consider how others perceive and have been influenced by one's actions. This necessitates the
ability to empathize with diverse viewpoints while maintaining a cohesive narrative that ties
personal growth to the broader context.
Structurally, organizing thoughts coherently while maintaining a natural flow is a formidable
task. The essay needs to transcend a mere list of accomplishments or failures, weaving them into
a compelling storyline that engages the reader. Juggling these elements without veering into the
realm of self-indulgence requires a delicate touch.
Moreover, the reflective nature of a self-assessment essay demands a critical evaluation of one's
own progress. This requires a level of candor that can be uncomfortable, as it necessitates
acknowledging areas for improvement without succumbing to self-criticism.
In conclusion, the difficulty of writing an essay on the topic of crafting a self-assessment essay
lies not only in the technical aspects of composition but also in the emotional and intellectual
challenges of self-reflection. It is a nuanced process that demands a delicate balance between
introspection, objectivity, and effective communication.
For those seeking assistance in navigating the intricacies of such essays or similar academic
endeavors, there are resources available. A myriad of services, such asHelpWriting.net, provide
support in crafting essays that encapsulate personal growth, reflection, and other nuanced
subjects. These platforms offer a helping hand to individuals grappling with the complexities of

The Rainbow Fish By Marcus Pfiter
In my final picture book read aloud, I am going to read The Rainbow Fish, by
Marcus Pfister. The main element of craft that I am going to highlight are the
illustrations. The illustrations play a very important role in this book because it
catches the children s attention and helps bring the book to life. In The RainbowFish,
a fish, named Rainbow Fish, has the most beautiful sliver scales that sparkle and
shine (Pfister 4). However, Rainbow Fish is proud and selfish, and does not want to
share his beautiful scales with the other fish (Pfister 8 11). So the other fish ignore
Rainbow Fish and leave him all by his lonesome self (Pfister 11). Later on, Rainbow
Fish gets some advice from the all knowing octopus (Pfister 14). The octopus tells
Rainbow Fish that he will be happy if he shares all of his scales (Pfister 14 16). So
Rainbow Fish takes his advice and shares all of his scales with all the other fish
(Pfister 24). At the end, Rainbow Fish learns how to make friends by sharing his
most prized scales (Pfister 27).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Pfister also puts sliver sticker scales on Rainbow Fish to show his most
beautiful sliver scales that pop off of the page. I believe this illustration plays an
important role in The Rainbow Fish because Rainbow Fish is supposed to be the
most beautiful fish in the entire ocean. And I believe that Marcus Pfister did a
wonderful job depicting Rainbow Fish as the most beautiful fish in the ocean in this
illustration. That is why I believe that the artwork is the most important element of
craft in this
Ronald Reagan A Good President
I believe that Ronald Reagan was the best President of the United States of
America. He was raised in a small town in Illinois, and became a young actor at the
age of 20. President Reagan was the President from 1981 to 1989. He was the 40th
President to serve in the White House. Before President Reagan became the
President, he served as the Governor of California. While President, Ronald Reagan
forged many wonderful programs forthe betterment of The United Statesof America.
President Reagan was well known for being a great communicator, in fact many
people nick named him, The Great Communicator (History.com 1). He was a well
loved President, evident by his two term stint of service. He cut taxes, increased
defense spending, negotiated
Essay On Family Trip
Have you ever gotten on a family trip and wondered if it could possibly change the
way you perceive life? Well, let me tell you that this exact matter happened to me
the last Fourth of July. When you are in your teenager years a person only thinks of
one point and that s you, yourself, and you again. That s what I had on my mind
before going to this marvelous trip, but how I saw my future before I went, and how I
saw it when I came back and were very different. How could a mere and inoffensive
family trip become such an important change in my life?
The twilight of the trip, what a baloney; or so I thought. Everything began on Friday
the 1rst of July in the Miami Bay, All the cruises where standing there; so majestuous

What I didn t count on was the fact that I was going to be swimming among them in
a special pool on the hotel. This pool has the form of an antique Maya temple, with
an extensive toboggan at the top that passes right through the pool of sharks. That
view while passing from inside the toboggan is one am never going to forget and
how could I if this trip was being my first time in so many ways; It was my first
time outside the U.S, also it was my first time on a cruise, and not to mention my first
time swimming with sharks.
The next element that called my attention was something called the White party, it
consisted of a truly big party on the deck of the boat where every single person was
supposed to dress in white and greed the captain and the crew. The next day we
went to a private island, regardless to say that it had also been my first time on a
private island, it was a paradise like place. There everyone was doing fun activities,
surfing, snorkeling, and even biking. After spending the day there we went back to
the ship and the next morning we were on the Miami Bay
Features Of The Four Interpretive Modes
Erasure provides many examples of the four interpretive modes, in which should
was discussed various times throughout class. However, for this paper, only two of
those four interpretive modes will be discussed. To provide an example for one of
the four interpretive modes; the narrative interpretive mode might be the easiest to
explain and provide examples for, considering that as of right now, we live in a post
modern society and this book was written during present times. The allegorical and
moral interpretive modes provide the readers with the best and clear insight on the
story, and also both of these modes reflect each other well within the first five
chapters. Beginning with the allegorical interpretive mode. This interpretive mode is
made for the readers to looking beyond what is said within the text. Use symbols and
signs to figure out what the characters or the narrator is trying to portray. Within the
first five chapters, there was a theme that kept showing up. That recurring theme was
the theme of racism . There was no instance in the story where another raceshowed
the absolute hatred towards the black race, but there are little symbols within the
first five chapters that insist there is still racism directed at the minority race.
There was an even that took place at one of Monk s paper readings and there was a

Adult Only Pool Case Study
Grey Oaks Adult Only Pool
Growing up, most summer days consisted of my mother waking up my brother and
me early so that we could be the first to arrive at the swimming pool in order to
secure our chairs for the day. However, most occasions we noticed that other people
had the same idea. Once we finally found an ideal spot for our family to lounge for
the day, my brother and I had to face the crowd of children splashing in the water.
Each day the chaotic scene reoccurred. My mom frequently told me that the Grey
Oaks Homes would be building a new pool any day, since a second pool was one of
the things my parents were promised when they moved in. The year my parents
built a new home in Grey Oaks, I was four years old. Now, I am seventeen and have
only seen the situation worsen. Each year, dozens of new homes are built in my
neighborhood, yet a singular pool remains. My proposal is that the Rodrock Homes
should build an Adult Only pool in the Grey Oaks neighborhood. ... Show more

Story Of An Hour Summary
In The Autonomous Female Self and the Death of Louise Mallard in Kate Chopin
s Story of an Hour, Mark Cunningham expresses his opinion on how he believes
Mrs. Mallard dies in Chopin s short story. The Story of an Hour was written in the
late 1890s, during a time when it was controversial for women to be independent.
The ending of her story has created somewhat of a dilemma among readers for
years. Some people conclude one ending based on the details and clues Chopin wrote
throughout the story, while others come up with a totally different opinion. Mark
Cunningham writes a brilliant article on his view of the story s ending, where he
clearly conveys his take on Louis Mallard s death. Although there are many times
when he repeats the same information, Cunningham makes good use of textual
evidence and authorities, as well as logic, which makes it easy to agree with his
claim. Cunningham s beliefon how the story ended varies from many other critic s
opinions. He points out how a great amount of readers believe the death of Mrs.
Mallard was caused by her seeing Mr. Mallard walk through the door of their
house, after receiving the news of his death in a train accident (par. 1). However,
Cunningham states he does not believe Louise Mallard even saw Brently Mallard at
all, and the cause of death was not from the shock of seeing him. In fact, he claims, I
believe that Louise does not see him... cause of her death lies elsewhere: in the joy...

Kidney Waiting List
The waiting list for a kidney is currently around 93,000 patients. In the time in
which a patient is waiting for a kidney, they often die or become to sick to undergo
surgery. An increase in donors would allow for more people to be saved before it s
too late. A well regulated system would also serve to benefit patients. To increase
donors the government could offer tax breaks for donors. Many organdonations come
from deceased people after accidents. If the government offered minor tax breaks
for people that registered to be a donor there would be a higher number of organ
donors because there is a real incentive. As a result, there would be a higher supply
of organs meaning that there are more to give to patients. This would be a minor price
Heart Of Darkness Archetypes Essay
In his argument raising novella, Heart of Darkness, Joseph Conrad conveys exquisite
literary knowledge. His use of archetypes allows the reader to connect the novella to
the mythological lens. The mythological lens focuses on characters, how they react to
different situations as well as each other, the connection to greek mythology, and
several types of archetypes. Through analysis of the archetypes and symbols in Heart
of Darkness, the reader can analyze Marlow s journey to and visit in Africa.
An archetype is a typical character, an action, or a situation that seems to represent
universal patterns of human nature (LiteraryDevices.net). In the first chapter of the
novella, the reader is introduced to the color archetype for the first time. When
Marlow is at the Company building he sees a large shining map, marked with all
the colours of a rainbow. (Conrad,7) Marlow then goes on to list the colors and
where they are. He then declares I wasn t going into any of these. I was going into
the yellow. (Conrad,7) According to the color archetype, yellow symbolizes

the Company s office. When he goes in Two women... knitting black wool... one
got up and walked [to] me... stood still and looked up... she turned round without a
word and perceded me into a waiting room (Conrad 7). The slim, nameless, woman
is symbolic to the maiden archetype. The woman appears to know more than
Marlow when it comes to Africa and what will happen there. Maybe her husband
left to go there and never came back or maybe her son, the reader doesn t know.
There are endless possibilities to explain how or why she knows what she knows, but
Conrad leaves this to the reader to determine. What we do know about her is that she
knows something about Africa that Marlow doesn t, that the reader

immunomodulatory activities. It is also known as long chain polyunsaturated
fatty acids (PUFAs), which include eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and
docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) (1). They are united in different parts of the body
containing cell membranes and play a crucial role in anti inflammatory processes
and in the viscosity of cell membranes (2 3). EPA and DHA are also the precursors
of several metabolites that are strong lipid mediators. Many scientists believe that

In the aneurysm wall, histologically, elastin degeneration and fragmentation are
observed. The features are characterized by loss of elastin in the aortic wall and a
corresponding shift towards an increased collagen/ elastin proportion, which
decreases aortic compliance (11). The most striking feature is that percolating
inflammatory cells (polymorphonuclear neutrophils, T cells, B cells, macrophages,
mast cells, NK cells, etc) in AAA patients occurs through the luminal thrombus and all
layers of the wall (12). Many humoral inflammatory factors, including cytokines,
chemokines, leukotrienes, reactive oxygen species, and immunoglobulins are secreted
by these infiltrating cells, generally in the outer part of the aorta, but also often
outside the aortic wall into surrounding tissues. Furthermore, immune system plays a
vital role in the pathogenesis of AAA, hypoxic and inflammatory environments are
potential stimulus for angiogenesis which is supposed to contribute to destructive
processes within the AAA wall and it is very important to develop and rupture in
aortic aneurysm. Deficiency of TLR4 or MyD88 reduced angiotensin II (AngII)
induced AAA formation. In AAA, macrophages are recruited obviously to the
adventitia and media, where they secrete proteases, substantially influences many
determinants of aortic wall remodeling such as
Why Summer is my Favorite Season of the Year Essay
My favorite season of the year is summer because of the warm weather, the school
vacation, and the endless fun. I really enjoy the warm weather because it s the
perfect atmosphere to do outdoor activities. My favorite part about summer has to
be the fact that school is closed for two months. During summer, you re free to do
whatever you want, not worrying about curfew or waking up early for school.
Summer time is a great time to relax with friends and family by soaking up the sun
at a beach or simply having dinner together. I love the hot and humid days that
makes you want to dive into a fresh and cold pool. When summer time starts, you
can wear lighter clothes, which are much more comfortable. The weather allows

The break calls for staying up late and waking up whenever you want to. Everyone
works so hard during the school year, so they deserve that free time. Summer times
are stress free, relaxing, and basically fun. You don t have to worry about
homework, projects, and studying for a test. One of my favorite summer pastimes
is staying up late watching movies and eating junk food, and then waking up late
and having brunch. Summer season is the best time for festivals and activities.
You can never get bored on a summer day or night. During the day, there are fun
activities such as: swimming, sports, picnics, and barbeques. Friends and family
spend a lot of time together during the summer time. There is a lot of good food,
drinks, and fun music. Everyone is laughing and having a good time. Summer
evenings are the best time for concerts, movies, parties, and relaxing with friends.
The summer evenings are beautiful because of the sparkly and glittery city lights.
One of the best events of the year, July Fourth, happens during summer. The
celebration of July fourth is very extravagant and glamorous. People gather around
to celebrate and watch the display of fireworks. The vibrant colors and the loud
sound of the fireworks are amazing. Overall, summer is just a wonderful season with
so much to offer. The best thing about this time of the year is that everyone is so

manipulating audience responses to characters and narrative events. In About Last

with one another the director wanted to portray the passion within its

dramatic events. For example, the lighting in the elevator was bright, and the
camera was facing the actors face reflecting on the sadness their past brought into
the present. The couple were fighting since Danny isn t as stabled as Debbie; he

How Did Portuguese Establish A Colony In Portugal...
Portuguese was interested in establishing a colony in Luanda (present Angola) in the
sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. This was going to threaten the territorial control
and economic power of states on the African coast. It was the lucrative slave trade
that prompted this initiative by the Portuguese. They needed to be in proximity of the
supply (Africans) so they could capture and ship the slaves more efficiently to the
New World colonies thereby increasing their profits. Portugal had decided it was
going to control this region economically and most importantly with its military. The
military soon attacked former trading partners and native Africans in order to acquire
the new captives.

Diversity In The Workplace Essay
I.INTRODUCTION
Workforce diversity addresses differences among people within an organization.
Workforce diversity means that organizations are becoming a more heterogeneous
mix of people from different categories. Diversity refers to the co existence of
employees from various socio cultural backgrounds within the company. Diversity
includes cultural factors such as race, gender, age, colour, physical ability, ethnicity,
education, language, lifestyle, beliefs, economic status, etc. Diversity requires a type
of organizational culture in which each employee can pursue his or her career
aspirations without being inhibited by gender, race, nationality, religion, or other
factors that are irrelevant to performance. Managing diversity means ... Show more

And this in turn helps to promote fair opportunities in the field of employment and
vocational training. Another benefit is enrichment of organizational human capital;
managing a diverse workforce entails a minimization of cloning that is preventing the
production of an exact copy in selection and promotion. This leads to a wider range of
ideas and abilities, offering greater scope for innovation and competitive performance
in the future therefore enriching an organizations human capital.
III.MANAGEMENT OF DIVERSE WORKFORCE
Companies can succeed at diversity if the initiative to create, manage and value the
diverse workforce has the full support of the top management. The following are the
conditions which would make workforce diversity a success in any organisation:
1.The organization should assign this work to a senior manager. The organization
should link concerns for diversity to human resource management decisions around
recruitment, selection, placement, succession planning, performance management,
and rewards.
2.The organization should create such a working environment as will increase the
motivation, satisfaction, and commitment of diverse people.
3.Performance standards must be clearly and objectively established, effectively
communicated, and used on objective criteria without any bias. Identify desirable and
undesirable behaviors that must be based upon
Bariatric Surgery Essay
Bariatric Surgery Patient care involves many aspects of healthcare and actions. One
major intervention is teaching the patient how to follow their diet after a certain
diagnosis or procedure. After a bariatric surgery, diet plays a major role with
patients wellbeing. As nurses we help patients to be coherent with doctors orders
and overall improve their health. Bariatric surgery approach is performed after other
medical treatments for loosing weight have been tried with no success (Nix, 2017).
Bariatric surgeries include the adjustable gastric band, gastric bypass, sleeve
gastrectomy, biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch. The overall concept of
these surgeries is to make the stomach smaller or induce malabsorption. If the
stomach is smaller, less amount of food is being consumed and with malabsorption,
most nutrients are not being absorbed (American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric
Surgery, 2018).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Changes in dietary diet may include a liquid diet for a period of time after surgery.
We would slowly move on to pureed foods, and eventually introduce regular
textured food. Patient should also limit foods high in sugar and refined
carbohydrates like pastas, crackers and white breads (Henry, 2016). Due to the
alteration of food absorption, nutrients have to prescribed to the patient. The most
common prescribed nutrients are: calcium, iron, vitamin D, and vitamin b 12.
Staying active will help the patient to be successful with their surgery. Even though
the weight is lost, continuous diet adherence and exercise is needed. Patient should
start slow and gradually increase exercise activity. Exercise should be about 60
minutes per day, 5 days out of the week. If a routine not established for diet and
exercise, weight gain can return.
Advanced Classes Vs Honors Classes Essay
Many colleges, including community colleges, do not often recognize the immense
difference between advanced placement classes (AP) in public high schools and
honors classes. While AP classes are suitable for some students, more highly
advanced students find themselves bored; this is why schools decided to offer honors
classes. While these classes are a better substitute than the option of having nothing
for the more advanced students, schools should design programs for each individual
student, providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge to progress through
high schooland college, leaving them well equipped for the journey of life. However,
not only do schools not offer this tool, just recently they have instituted Common
Core Standards . This horrible... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her story is only one among a vast number of individuals who have analogous
memoirs opposing these principles. What can be done about this, though? For
starters, the idea of Common Core standards can be thrown away and never again
revisited. By trashing the idea of Common Core standards, the majority of states
across the nation would be able to offer better schools and educations to their
registrants. Once students graduate elementary and middle school, high school
should not look impossible to finish, as it appears to many pupils. For the more
academically advanced students, a larger variety of honors classes should be
offered. However, the recognition of student s hard work and dutiful labor often
falls between the cracks when it comes to getting into a college, and what colleges
look for and at. The bulk of academies look for a potential student s GPA (grade point
average), SAT and ACT scores, the application essay, and extracurricular activities.
The GPA is essentially the sum total of a person s grades. Thus, most colleges do not
look at specific grades for specific classes. As
Acetylsalicylic Acid Synthesis Lab Report

methyl salicylate.

Although acceptable results, when compared to the results of Part A these results
seem to pale in comparison, and the reason for this discrepancy is unfortunately
well known. By the end of the experiment there was some confusion as to what the
exact products were supposed to be, peers that finished rather quickly reported a
solid crystal as their product, which astounded some of my peers and myself, since
we were still boiling a liquid substance that consisted of the results. After some
research and inquiries with the TA from the lab next door, it was found that the
actual product from the experiment was supposed to be a sort of oily substance
characterized by a reddish tint. In the experiment performed here, the mixture did
experience a period of a reddish tint, however believing the resultant compound
would be a solid, this phase was ignored and continued to boil, which resulted in
the given brownish oil. This confusion led to boiling the mixture for far more than
was necessary, causing an excessive loss of sample; an obvious way this could
have been avoided would have been to thoroughly research what the resultant
compound s properties would be, instead of relying on the data and observations of
other peers. Another possible reason for this discrepancy was the difficulty of
separating the compounds in the separatory funnel, as the difference between the
organic and aqueous layers was indiscernible, the only way to be able to discern
them was to add more water, which could greatly affect the separation of the actual
compounds, not to mention the possibility of some of the aqueous layer separating
along with the organic layer, causing inconsistencies with the ester found in the
layer2. That said, the

Decivilization has happened in many generations and time periods. Lord of the

partners never used any types of military or foreign policies, unlike the Allie
partners (ushmm.org 2015). Ralph is just like the Allie partners since he does not
use force to get power. He uses the conch instead. At one point Ralph says,
Whoever holds the conch gets to speak (Golding). Ralph wants the island to be
civilized, but Jack has a completely different idea. Jack tries to use force and
bribery to get power. That is almost exactly what the Axis partners did to try to win
the war. They wanted control of the countries near them like how Jack wanted
control of the whole island and the boys. The Allies showed no mercy when it
came to World War II because they wanted everything their way. This is the same
as when Jack kills the sow, when Simon is killed, and when Piggy is killed. Jack
showed no mercy to these living things and did not care for their
The Theory Of Symbolic Interactionism
Introduction
The last theoretical perspective I have applied to my movie selection, Dead Man
Walking, is the symbolic interaction theory. The theory was primarily established by
American philosopher George Herbert Mead in the 1920 s and the term was later
coined by American sociologist Herbert Blumer in the 1960 s (McClelland, 2000).
Symbolic interactionism examines society on a small scale and focuses on interactions
between individuals and how these relations impact social order (Brown, 2013). To
comprehend human behavior, we must understand what the idea or situation means
to the participant (Dubose, 2015). The same situation can have different meanings to
different people and therefore affect people in different ways (Dubose, 2015).
Throughout this analysis, I will apply the theory of symbolic interactionism to
explain Poncelot s behaviors and interactions with other people in his life.
Background Information
Poncelot was an inmate on Death Row in a Louisiana Prison in the 1990 s. He was
incarcerated for six years while awaiting his execution by lethal injection. He was
convicted of killing two teenagers as well as brutally raping the female victim. At the
beginning of the movie, Poncelot denied the allegations against him and blamed both
crimes on his partner. Throughout the movie, he portrayed himself as an arrogant,
racist, sexist, and condescending man. He was shunned by nearly all of the people he
came in contact with and enjoyed the negative reaction his behavior

business so their level of financial accountability is low. But now the management
needs a financial accountant in order to ensure the accountability and proper
management of the firm. However, before that the management needs to know
specifically the roles and responsibility of proper financial information. They also
need to know about budgeted plans and methods for appraisal of a business

1.5 Usefulness of financial statements to stakeholders:
A financial statement is a legitimate record of the financial activities of a business,
person, or other entity. On the other hand, a person, group or organization that has
interest or concern in an organization is known as its stakeholder. Stakeholders are
one kind of owner for an organization.
As a result these people want to know about the organization in details in which they
are going to invest. In this regards financial statement or financial records are useful
instruments for providing those information to the stakeholders. Usefulness of
financial statements for stakeholders is discussed below: * A stakeholder is
interested in the equity of the firm. The ultimate objective of a firm used to be
maximizing profits. But now a days, goals have widened because of the changing
environment in which the firm operates and includes earnings per share, employment
numbers, management satisfaction, environmental protection and many other factors
that have an effect on the equity of the business. For this reason, the stakeholders are
interested in the financial information of the organization. * The firm s performance
can be assessed through an income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
Westboro Formation
The Proterozoic Westboro Formation (ca. 800 Ma), composed of massive quartzites
and interbedded schists, is interpreted as a passive margin assemblage deposited on
Avalon before the microcontinent rifted from Gondwana. The Westboro experienced
various pulses of deformation and metamorphism during the Proterozoic. Of notable
interest are 1 to 3 meter wide, N NE striking, shallow dipping mylonitic zones
exposed in and around the Breakheart Reservation in Saugus, MA. At one location
blocks of eroded mylonite are contained in a Westboro debrite. A possible
interpretation is that mylonites exposed along a rift basin border fault were eroded
and incorporated upper Westboro through mass gravity transport. This study was
undertaken to determine shear sense and the relative timing of... Show more content

AMS analyses were useful in redefining the principal foliation, but did not aid in
determining lineations or direction of shear sense. Nevertheless, these analyses in
combination with local mapping tentatively point to the following sequence of
events: 1) deposition of the Westboro; 2) greenschist facies metamorphism forming
the principal foliation; 3) contact metamorphism, recorded by the formation of large
cordierite porphyblasts; 4) mylonitization; 5) extrusion and deposition of overlying
felsic flows and pyroclastic deposits; 6) intrusion of the Dedham granite (ca. 610
Ma) and possible retrograde metamorphism of porphryblasts; 7) additional contact
metamorphism, recorded by unaltered cordierite aggregates rimming porphyroblasts;
and 8) brittle deformation evidenced by thin bands of cataclasite in the Dedham.
Rotated porphyroblasts and S C fabrics in the mylonites record a dextral
transpressive sense of motion possibly along a restraining bend of a transcurrent
system. Therefore mylonite blocks in the debrite are not easily explained by simple
resedimentation in a rift
An Explanation Of How Billing And Coding Works For...
B.An explanation of how billing and coding works for healthcare services
Medical billing and coding are two closely related aspects of the modern health care
industry. Both practices are involved in the immensely important reimbursement
cycle, which ensures that health care providers are paid for the services they
perform. For the sake of simplicity, let s divide the two at the moment and look at
them as separate pieces of a larger process. We ll begin with medical coding.
Medical Coding Medical coding, at its most basic, is a little like translation. It s the
coder s job to take something that s written one way (a doctor s diagnosis, for
example, or a prescription for a certain medication) and translate it as accurately as
possible into a numeric or alphanumeric code. For every injury, diagnosis, and
medical procedure, there is a corresponding code. There are thousands and thousands
of codes for medical procedures, outpatient procedures, and diagnoses. Let s start with
a quick example of medical coding in action. A patient walks into a doctor s office
with a hacking cough, high production of mucus or sputum, and a fever. A nurse asks
the patient their symptoms and performs some initial tests, and then the doctor
examines the patient and diagnoses bronchitis. The doctor then prescribes medication
to the patient.
Every part of this visit is recorded by the doctor or someone in the healthcare
provider s office. It s the medical coder s job to translate every bit of relevant
Racism In Richard Stapry By Edwin Arlington Robinson
America is a combination of diverse countries, making defining American culture a
difficult task. In Brent Staples Just Walk On By a true story is shared about a
lifelong experience of racist interactions just because of his skin color. In the poem
Richard Cory by Edwin Arlington Robinson, everyone wanted to have the life of the
man in the poem. People praised him for his materialistic attributes, but in the end he
committed suicide. Stevie Wondercomposed a song called Village Ghetto Land
explaining the social inequality. The artists Staples, Robinson, and Wonder
execute American culture as one that is plagued with racist, greedy, and inequality.
Racism is one of the biggest flaws humanity has exercised throughout history and
continues to exercise in modern day society. Racism has affected people s lives in
various negative ways. In Brent Staples story Just walk on by . Staples discusses
how people automatically assume the worst about him just because he s black.
When someone would see him they would make the assumption that he s a mugger
or a rapist. In one of his incidents Staples came across a woman late at night and
notices how her behavior changes when she noticed him walking behind her. As I
swung onto the avenue behind her, Here seemed to be a discreet, uninflammatory
distance between us. Not so. She cast back a worried glance. To that the youngish
black man a broad six feet two inches...seemed menacingly close. After a few more
glimpses, she picked

admirable quality that made Alex influential is her being a caring kid because she
wanted to do something to help others. In addition, in the article Meet our founder:

marine biologist is the job for you. As a marine biologist you will need to have
several years of schooling in order to have a successful career. Being a marine
biologist can be an enjoyable and dangerous job, but the journey is worth the ride.
Several people ask what is a marinebiologist? There are various answers to this
question. The best answer shall be that a marine biologist is someone who works in
some way in studying, observing, protecting, or managing marine organisms, be they
microbe, plant or animal. Marine Biologists study the origins, behaviours, diseases,
genetics and the life processes of animals and wildlife of the marine environment.
Some marine biologists specialize in wildlife research and management, including the
collection and analysis of biological data to determine the environmental effects of
present and potential use of land and water areas (Marine Biology). Becoming a
marine biologist can be pretty difficult. Marine biologist will need to take several
biology classes; but you will also need a fantastic understanding of science in
general. You will need to take classes such as chemistry and physics. Mathematics
will also be required, at least up to calculus. Typing skills will also be necessary in
the career, computer, and technical/electrical skills would also be helpful for this
field (Becoming a Marine Biologist). Being a marine biologist, does not just

One of these factors is the arts that are in the Angolans lives. Literacy is a huge art
that is respected all throughout the country. Many Angolans like to use poetry to
express their criticism of the political system and to worship their ancestors.
Another factor would be the sports that the Angolans play. Like most countries, the
people do play soccer and basketball, but they do have a traditional sport called
capoeira. Capoeira is a lot like our sport zumba, in which they use dance moves and
martial arts to express themselves. Also, a factor would be some traditional
holidays that they celebrate every year. Nganja is a celebration where families go
out to corn fields to bring in for themselves to eat over a fire. Many kids will play a
game where they will steal corn from others, and if you are not quick, you will not
get any corn at all. Another celebration is Okambondondo. In this, children will
gather together at one s house and play games, tell stories, most importantly, have a
feast that is cooked by the older girls. Also, there is a nationwide carnival that takes
place over the three days before Ash Wednesday. People wearing costumes and
colorful headgear will ride on floats and perform dances like the semba. At the end of
the carnival, prizes are handed to the best costumes and

Edward Albee Essay
Edward Albee, a famous American Playwright, was born on March 12, 1928 and
grew up in Westchester County, New York. Albee grew up with his adoptive
parents and left home at the age of 18, due to conflicts with his adoptive parents and
a suffocating environment. Although, his adopted family was very wealthy and
owned multiple theatres, he felt very distanced. However, because he was his family

passion with. Albee s love as a playwrightwas not supported by his family, as they
wanted a son to have a more respectable job, like a doctor or lawyer. As a student,
Albee was known to be expelled or kicked out by many of his schools. He had a
passion to write plays and began experimenting with different styles, while

Business Ethics In The Movie A Christmas Carol
According to Omidyar Branson (2016), business ethics are called as corporate
ethics which is a set of rules that define the right and wrong behaviour. From the
research, ethics are a form of applied ethic that can be used to evaluate whether the
conduct of the people are considered acceptable and appropriate. Besides, business
ethics are the collective values of a business organization that can be used to evaluate
whether the behaviour of the collective members of the organization are considered
acceptable and appropriate. In the most basic term, a definition for business ethics
boils down to knowing the difference between right and wrong and choosing to do
what is right. A Christmas Carol(2009) is a 2009 Disney film adaptation of the Charles
Dickensnovella of the same name. It is directed by Robert Zemeckis and made by

Maximum Heart Rate Experiment
Heart rate is expected to increase during exercise. The reason for this is that the
muscles in the body are demanding more blood and, essentially, the heart must work
harder in order to provide for the muscles needs. Athletes, who are more adapted to
exercising environments have a lower maximum heart rate than individuals who do
not exercise as frequently. In a study done between two groups of individuals one
containing only athletes and the other containing individuals who had performed any
type of exercise in the previous 6 months results showed that athletes had a lower
heart ratewhen they performed exercise than non athletes (Martinelli 2005). The
reason that athletes have a lower maximum heart rate is because the heart can pump
blood to the rest of the body more efficiently in larger amounts than it would in a non
athlete. In this experiment, a Vernier Hand Grip Rate Monitor was used to record the
heart rate of an individual while the individual ran in place. The purpose of this
experiment is to test whether or not there is any difference between the maximum
heart rate if an individual that is an athlete and an individual that is not an athlete.

The Importance Of Mcmahan s Decision To Go To The
Military
Now it is easy for an individual to tell someone to not do something without
knowing the full extent of that person s limitations. For example, I can tell my best
friend to purchase a ticket to go to my wedding that is in the Dominican, and if he
doesn t come to my wedding, it is an indication that he does not value our
friendship. On the surface, it sounds like a fair assessment. Now, what if I tell you
now that my friend is living in his car and has about 2 dollars in his bank account.
Certainly, you would not expect me to be upset if he doesn t come down to my
wedding now, as he is severely limited in his monetary capabilities to physically be
at my wedding. This same principle should apply to McMahan in regards to soldiers

That being said, McMahan has no right to essentially scold an individual for not
being able to fix a financial situation without knowing the circumstances to which
that individual was put in that predicament. Now I acknowledge that McMahan
could counter this argument by saying that due to the high rate of mortality, the
decision to go to war must not be taken lightly. As such, anyone with financial
strains on the verge of entering a war that could be unjust should simply do
something else to find money and sustain their survival. This is a fair assessment,
as individuals should look to all possible courses of action when deliberating a
major decision like entering a war. That being said, I challenge, McMahan to say
the same if he is in a position of severe economic duress, to the point of starvation
and still want to take the time to find a way past this other than war if the choice
was provided to him. There would be no way of this happening because he will
physically not be in a position to choose because his body is withering

To give some insight into the scale of the problem posed by the serial killer, in the
United States can be gained from examining the statistics for just one year. In 1989
(the last year for which detailed figures are available) there were 21,500 recorded
homicides, of which some 5,000 are unsolved. Unofficial sources believe that as
many as a hundred serial killers may be at large at any given time. Add to this the
number of known victims of serial killers, then between 3,500 and 5,000 people are

Characteristics of a serial killer are imperative in demarcating the type of person
capable of committing a serial murder. quot; Most known serial killers are 25 35
years old quot; (Falk 85). quot;It is also significant that the victims of serial
murderers are not concentrated in any age range quot; (Falk 85). quot;Serial killings
are almost always committed by white males instead of blacks because class
resentment is far more likely to occur to a person with a good education than
someone without an appreciation of how society works quot; (Falk 85).
To truly understand the phenomenon of serial murder one must know what
motivates a person to commit such a horrendous crime. Patterns of serial killing fall
broadly into two categories of motivation: quot;Extrinsic, where the impulse to kill is
located outside the killer s psyche that is, he perceives a rational reason for murder in
outside situations and events quot; (Fox and Levin 12). quot;More frequently the
motivation is intrinsic to the psyche of the killer, whether or not that motivation is
apparent to an independent observer quot; (Fox and Levin 12). Closer psychological
analysis of known cases indicates that serial murders fit into one of four main types
according to the predominate homicidal motivation: Visionaries, Missionaries,
Hedonists, and Power Seekers.
Visionaries include killers who act in response to quot;voices quot; and alter egos,

Films need to make the audience stop and think for a little bit afterward, there
needs to be a pause, a moment of huh... , even if brief. It needs to be something
different, something unusual. Film Festivals shouldn t be for standard films, they
shouldn t be for the mass marketed and well known. So as much as I loved, Star
Wars for example, I knew it was less than ideal for this situation. This assignment
also gave me the opportunity to reassess the validity of some films that I thought I

Federal Government houses during their tenure.[4] * In March 2010 President
Goodluck Jonathan set up a Federal Projects Assessment Committee headed by Bunu
to assess and provide necessary information on the status of on going Federal
Government projects across the nation. [5] Bunu immediately came under pressure
to explain how he could probe ongoing projects that started during his administration

Rama Navami And Hindu Tradition

Rama Navami Rama Navami is one of the most popular, sacred festivals known to
Hindu tradition. It celebrates the birth of Lord Rama, as well as the marriage
between him and his consort, Sita. Rama is known for being noble, wise, kind, and
ultimately a perfect god. Rama Navami celebrates the epic, Ramayana, because it tells
the story of the great hero, Rama. There are many traditions that take place during the
festival each year. These customs include spiritual, dietary, musical, and religious
practices. Rama Navami is also significant to each of those customs in numerous
ways.
The great Hindu festival, Rama Navami takes place in honor of Lord Rama, or
Ramachandra. Rama is the eldest son of Queen Kausalya and King Dasharatha,
ruler of the ancient city, Ayodhya. Lord Rama was born in around noon in 5114 BC
in Ayodhya. He is believed to be the seventh incarnation of Vishnu, while he is also
known as one of Vishnu s oldest avatars to have a human form. Rama is remembered
for his greatness, and that is widely demonstrated in the Hindu epic, Ramayana,
where he is the protagonist. Throughout Hinduism, Rama is referred to as Maryada
Purushottama , which translates to Perfect Man or Lord of Virtue . He is highly
recognized and looked up to throughout Hinduism, therefore Rama Navami became
one of the most popular festivals. Rama grew older and married Sita, who is
considered to be an avatar of Lakshmi. Since he is a perfect being,
NASA Sending Robots To Mars
What is mining? Mining is the process or industry of obtaining coal or other
minerals from a mine. NASA is sending mining robots to Mars. Some of you may
ask, Why is NASA sending robots to Mars? Well, if the robots can dig up the ice, to
make methane and oxygen for rockets, then there will be less human trips to Mars.
NASAsends mini mining trucks to Mars to dig up ice. NASA has created big
mining trucks but they don t have the money to build a big enough rocket to send
the mining trucks to Mars.(Metzger and Written) NASA is also making a robot
called a Swarmie. By packing a lot of air, water, and fuel into a rocket before firing
it into an orbit is the least efficient way to get these things into space. This will be
very expensive and time consuming. A better way to get... Show more content on

A Robotic Minesweeper stopped a bomb that killed thousands of troops. It is a
normal military vehicle with a mine roller that can clear convoys without a human
driver. A module containing software and multiple sensors could work with other
vehicles, this technology could make any military vehicle into a robot that will be
able to work tirelessly through the rain, snow, dust, and darkness. The robotic
vehicles would play many roles for the military in supply convoys, airfield
construction, and similar operations. So, the U.S. military will have supply convoys
that are mostly robotic vehicles like minesweepers and supply trucks.(Hsu)
Mining has a long history of providing raw materials. The global demand is higher
than ever cause the drop in the price of oil. Gold mines today only contain particles
of gold in rocks, which is known as ore. Weathering of the ore can release sulfuric
acid into streams and rivers. Today countries, like Germany, China, India and Peru,
depend on mining for income. There has been some improvement over the years,
several countries have reduced the number of children in mining and that prevents

publicly funded universal health care service. The family could also be receiving
some support from Centrelink. The policies regarding abuse with the department of

Pit And The Pendulum
The Pit and the Pendulum is a short story narrative told by a condemned prisoner
during the period of the Spanish Inquisitions. The story takes place in Toledo, Spain
and begins with the prisoner describing a delirious state in which he sees robed
judges presiding over his sentencing. Prior to the pronounced judgment, he is
overtaken by fear and faints. The story continues in vivid detail, as the prisoner
describes over a period of days, through lingering periods of consciousness, his
torturous entrapment.
As the narrative moves forward, the prisoner assumes he s been sentenced to death.
He awakens alone, in absolute blackness, for which he questions whether he is dead
or alive. His thoughts pirouette between abject terror and self imagined ... Show more

While examining the tight quarters of his cold and damp surroundings, he feels
piercing eyes fixed upon him. Horror fills his body as he gazes upon large rats
entering and exiting the pit of death. He realizes he is in the same dungeon, but it
is much smaller than he had envisioned. As his eyes slowly adjust to the brightness
of the lights, he becomes aware of a noise above him. Almost immediately, his eyes
catch glimpse of the movement of a pendulum. Entranced and enthralled by its
animated rhythm, he watches in both terror and delight as it swings backwards
and forwards. This fascination soon turns to fear as the prisoner realizes a scimitar
is attached to the bottom of the pendulum. A maniacal terror slowly creeps into his
thoughts as he imagines the sounds of the blade first slicing into his robe and then
tearing apart his flesh. Time drags by. He and the rats feast on pungently seasoned
meat. The scimitar swings closer and closer, his death certain, when an idea occurs
to him. With only seconds to spare before the sharp blade devours him, he quickly
rubs the meat on the bandages binding his hands and feet. The smell attracts the rats
who rush in and chew the bandages lose. He slides off the wood plank only seconds
before his skin is perforated. Euphoria fills him at his victory over the pendulum of
Daylight Shading Paper
This paper addresses the issue and key considerations behind designing with daylight
as a primary factor from the early stages of design in the architecture. Furthermore, the
paper touches on the subject of some of the most efficient ways to tackle the
implementation of daylight strategies that are thoughtful in terms of projectspecifics
and achieve visual comfort and save on energy costs. As specialists in the building
industry, construction architects, together with architects, engineers, and other
professionals, face difficulties in implementing efficient daylighting strategies that
consider both proper illumination and much needed shading, that causes discomfort
glare and overheating. The main objective of the paper is to observe and... Show more

Moreover, the paper addresses what are the most common considerations in projects
regarding daylight implementation and how certain factors differ from one company
to company or professionals to professionals within the building industry.
The methodology used to investigate involved secondary data acquired from roughly
twenty different sources, such as books, publications, articles, magazines as well as
primary data, presently through personal interpretations and experience.
The benefits of daylighting are not limited to energy saving, but they include plenty
of health related positive aspects, as well as increased productivity and motivation
among users exposed to satisfactory levels of natural light during the day.
Companies should prioritize the spread of knowledge and training of staff in regards
to perceiving daylighting as a very important parameter from the early stages of
design. Working in close connection with consultants and legislators would facilitate
the creation of uniform mind set among professionals of the architectural practice
towards working with
Socialization and Social Stratification Essay
Socialisation is a learning process where people learn and adapt to the appropriate
and accepted values, attitudes and behaviours of their society. Nevertheless, separate
groups exist within societies for reasons including ethnicity, class and culture and
these can bring their own set of norms . Bond and Bond in Sociologyand Social Care
(2009 pg28) states From the cradle to the grave we are being socialised . Primary
socialisation occurs from infancy to early adulthood. Secondary socialisation follows
into the later stages of maturity. Anticipatory socialisation is where we learn to
anticipate the actions and activities deemed appropriate by society. Resocialisation
occurs when we learn new behaviours in response to new situations and... Show more

On the other hand, conflict theory perspective, which is interested in the imbalance
of power in society views social stratification as an unsuccessful and ineffective
system as it maintains imbalances of power and benefits only those in a position of
prestige. Socialisation and social stratification impacts on our lives both positively
and negatively. This essay will explore those effects in relation to social class and
ethnicity and analyse how it impacts on the health and well beings of those groups.
That analysis will entail looking at inequalities in health and the impact and
explanations for such inequalities. For my conclusion I will be reflecting on the
topics discussed and summarising the main issues.
Social Class
Stratification by economic status creates social classes. In Ireland, class structures
are organised by occupation, ranging from professional workers such as doctors in
class 1 to refuse collectors in class 7. The process of classifying people by
occupation does not account for those in society who have no occupation such as
the retired and long tern unemployed and those unable to work due to illness or
disability. These people subsequently become known as the declassed . The class
structure does not take account of women who work within the home as women can
be categorised according to their husband s occupation . The Carstairs Social
Deprivation Indicator which is used in Britain takes other elements such as car
ownership and overcrowding
Tolly Monster Research Paper
Just last year, some researchers stated that the extinct aquatic animal, the Tully
Monster was a vertebrate, possibly a relative of today s lampreys. Like a
mismatched puzzle, the Tully monster lacks some vertebrate pieces and has others
that are the wrong shape, researchers and colleagues report in the March issue of
Palaeontology. (Palaeontology includes the study of fossils to determine organisms
evolution and interactions with each other and their environment, their
paleoecology). Tullimonstrum gregarium didn t get its monstrous name because of
its size, it only measures to be near about a foot long, the oddball creature, which
lived about 300 million years ago, sported wide set eyes like a hammerhead shark and

Work Dogs
DOGS ARE A MAN S BEST FRIEND
Working Dogs are not just pets. There are two different types of work dogs,
including sheep herding dogs, and avalanche rescue dogs. They are different in
many way, including the area they work. They are also alike. In the text It s a Dog s
Life, they explain about the sheep herding dog. In Hide and Seek School, they explain
about the avalanche rescue dog.
Both articles are alike in many ways. Both service dogs explained how they were
trained alike. Both dogs are trained by verbal commands. This means they were
trained by command. Both dogs also were trained for service to help other people.
The dogs also were chosen for their instincts, which include herding instincts.

Essay about What Home Means to Me
What Home Means to Me
In a matter of fact, home is a noun that is defined in the Collins New School
Dictionary as firstly, the place where you live, secondly, the place where you were
born or you feel you belong. On the other hand, the dictionary also defines it as a
place where people are looked after. The first meaning of the word home would not
apply to me as I only have lived in Dubai, The United Arab Emirates for four years as
compared to the seven years in Marseille, France. Although I hail from Algeria, a
country in the North of Africa, yet I yearn for my home in Marseille. The last
characterization of the word home is not relevant either. So only the second definition
is the most adapted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every single area of my home has a history for me as I learned there how to walk,
played games in front of the parking behind the shady trees, took part in football
games in front of the grey towering buildings with my friends and many more
childhood memories I still cherish. There is also my family and relatives who
played an important part in my understanding of the word home. A herd of birds
were migrating, unperturbed, towards the south. Every bird in the group felt
comfortable until a bird went astray and by accident started flying in the opposite
direction. I see myself as this bird that has parted its company and is feeling forlorn.
Recently I moved to an imposing five bedroom house with a large garden
surrounding it. There is also a terrace that overlooks the garden and a path leading to
the swimming pool and gymnasium as well as the Jacuzzi and a big courtyard where
we play table tennis. Attached to our villa there is a garage where we can park both
our cars and Jet Ski easily. The garden has various kinds of fragrant flowers of all
colours and palm trees. Our garden also has a barbecue, wooden chairs and tables.
My house has a small quarter where a maid lives. As we enter the house there is a
small corridor leading to the lounge covered with carpets, low Arabic sofas and a

How To Write A Self Assessment Essay

  • 1. How To Write A Self Assessment Essay Crafting an essay on the intricacies of composing a self-assessment essay may seem deceptively straightforward at first glance, yet delving into the task reveals a tapestry of challenges that require careful navigation. The inherent paradox lies in the fact that the very subject matter necessitates a deep introspective exploration, making objectivity a delicate tightrope walk. To begin with, the process involves an intimate journey into one's own experiences, strengths, weaknesses, and personal growth – a task that demands both self-awareness and humility. Translating these reflections into a coherent narrative requires not just adept writing skills but also a nuanced understanding of one's own narrative. The risk of either underplaying one's achievements or veering into self-aggrandizement adds an additional layer of complexity. Furthermore, striking the right balance between introspection and external perspectives poses a challenge. The essay should not only reflect a profound understanding of oneself but also consider how others perceive and have been influenced by one's actions. This necessitates the ability to empathize with diverse viewpoints while maintaining a cohesive narrative that ties personal growth to the broader context. Structurally, organizing thoughts coherently while maintaining a natural flow is a formidable task. The essay needs to transcend a mere list of accomplishments or failures, weaving them into a compelling storyline that engages the reader. Juggling these elements without veering into the realm of self-indulgence requires a delicate touch. Moreover, the reflective nature of a self-assessment essay demands a critical evaluation of one's own progress. This requires a level of candor that can be uncomfortable, as it necessitates acknowledging areas for improvement without succumbing to self-criticism. In conclusion, the difficulty of writing an essay on the topic of crafting a self-assessment essay lies not only in the technical aspects of composition but also in the emotional and intellectual challenges of self-reflection. It is a nuanced process that demands a delicate balance between introspection, objectivity, and effective communication. For those seeking assistance in navigating the intricacies of such essays or similar academic endeavors, there are resources available. A myriad of services, such asHelpWriting.net, provide support in crafting essays that encapsulate personal growth, reflection, and other nuanced subjects. • 2. The Rainbow Fish By Marcus Pfiter In my final picture book read aloud, I am going to read The Rainbow Fish, by Marcus Pfister. The main element of craft that I am going to highlight are the illustrations. The illustrations play a very important role in this book because it catches the children s attention and helps bring the book to life. In The RainbowFish, a fish, named Rainbow Fish, has the most beautiful sliver scales that sparkle and shine (Pfister 4). However, Rainbow Fish is proud and selfish, and does not want to share his beautiful scales with the other fish (Pfister 8 11). So the other fish ignore Rainbow Fish and leave him all by his lonesome self (Pfister 11). Later on, Rainbow Fish gets some advice from the all knowing octopus (Pfister 14). The octopus tells Rainbow Fish that he will be happy if he shares all of his scales (Pfister 14 16). So Rainbow Fish takes his advice and shares all of his scales with all the other fish (Pfister 24). At the end, Rainbow Fish learns how to make friends by sharing his most prized scales (Pfister 27).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Pfister also puts sliver sticker scales on Rainbow Fish to show his most beautiful sliver scales that pop off of the page. I believe this illustration plays an important role in The Rainbow Fish because Rainbow Fish is supposed to be the most beautiful fish in the entire ocean. And I believe that Marcus Pfister did a wonderful job depicting Rainbow Fish as the most beautiful fish in the ocean in this illustration. That is why I believe that the artwork is the most important element of craft in this

Well, let me tell you that this exact matter happened to me the last Fourth of July. When you are in your teenager years a person only thinks of one point and that s you, yourself, and you again. That s what I had on my mind before going to this marvelous trip, but how I saw my future before I went, and how I saw it when I came back and were very different. How could a mere and inoffensive family trip become such an important change in my life? The twilight of the trip, what a baloney; or so I thought. The next day we went to a private island, regardless to say that it had also been my first time on a private island, it was a paradise like place. However, for this paper, only two of those four interpretive modes will be discussed. To provide an example for one of the four interpretive modes; the narrative interpretive mode might be the easiest to explain and provide examples for, considering that as of right now, we live in a post modern society and this book was written during present times. The allegorical and moral interpretive modes provide the readers with the best and clear insight on the story, and also both of these modes reflect each other well within the first five chapters. Beginning with the allegorical interpretive mode. This interpretive mode is made for the readers to looking beyond what is said within the text. Use symbols and signs to figure out what the characters or the narrator is trying to portray. Within the first five chapters, there was a theme that kept showing up. That recurring theme was the theme of racism . There was no instance in the story where another raceshowed the absolute hatred towards the black race, but there are little symbols within the first five chapters that insist there is still racism directed at the minority race. There was an even that took place at one of Monk s paper readings and there was a guy by the name of Gimble. Adult Only Pool Case Study Grey Oaks Adult Only Pool Growing up, most summer days consisted of my mother waking up my brother and me early so that we could be the first to arrive at the swimming pool in order to secure our chairs for the day. However, most occasions we noticed that other people had the same idea. Once we finally found an ideal spot for our family to lounge for the day, my brother and I had to face the crowd of children splashing in the water. Each day the chaotic scene reoccurred. My mom frequently told me that the Grey Oaks Homes would be building a new pool any day, since a second pool was one of the things my parents were promised when they moved in. The year my parents built a new home in Grey Oaks, I was four years old. Now, I am seventeen and have only seen the situation worsen. • 7. Story Of An Hour Summary In The Autonomous Female Self and the Death of Louise Mallard in Kate Chopin s Story of an Hour, Mark Cunningham expresses his opinion on how he believes Mrs. Mallard dies in Chopin s short story. The Story of an Hour was written in the late 1890s, during a time when it was controversial for women to be independent. The ending of her story has created somewhat of a dilemma among readers for years. Some people conclude one ending based on the details and clues Chopin wrote throughout the story, while others come up with a totally different opinion. Mark Cunningham writes a brilliant article on his view of the story s ending, where he clearly conveys his take on Louis Mallard s death. Although there are many times when he repeats the same information, Cunningham makes good use of textual evidence and authorities, as well as logic, which makes it easy to agree with his claim. Cunningham s beliefon how the story ended varies from many other critic s opinions. He points out how a great amount of readers believe the death of Mrs. Mallard was caused by her seeing Mr. Mallard walk through the door of their house, after receiving the news of his death in a train accident (par. 1). However, Cunningham states he does not believe Louise Mallard even saw Brently Mallard at all, and the cause of death was not from the shock of seeing him. In fact, he claims, I believe that Louise does not see him... cause of her death lies elsewhere: in the joy... more monstrous than Louise seems

In the time in which a patient is waiting for a kidney, they often die or become to sick to undergo surgery. An increase in donors would allow for more people to be saved before it s too late. A well regulated system would also serve to benefit patients. To increase donors the government could offer tax breaks for donors. Many organdonations come from deceased people after accidents. If the government offered minor tax breaks for people that registered to be a donor there would be a higher number of organ donors because there is a real incentive. • 9. Heart Of Darkness Archetypes Essay In his argument raising novella, Heart of Darkness, Joseph Conrad conveys exquisite literary knowledge. His use of archetypes allows the reader to connect the novella to the mythological lens. The mythological lens focuses on characters, how they react to different situations as well as each other, the connection to greek mythology, and several types of archetypes. Through analysis of the archetypes and symbols in Heart of Darkness, the reader can analyze Marlow s journey to and visit in Africa. An archetype is a typical character, an action, or a situation that seems to represent universal patterns of human nature (LiteraryDevices.net). In the first chapter of the novella, the reader is introduced to the color archetype for the first time. When Marlow is at the Company building he sees a large shining map, marked with all the colours of a rainbow. (Conrad,7) Marlow then goes on to list the colors and where they are. The slim, nameless, woman is symbolic to the maiden archetype. The woman appears to know more than Marlow when it comes to Africa and what will happen there. Maybe her husband left to go there and never came back or maybe her son, the reader doesn t know. There are endless possibilities to explain how or why she knows what she knows, but Conrad leaves this to the reader to determine. Once students graduate elementary and middle school, high school should not look impossible to finish, as it appears to many pupils. For the more academically advanced students, a larger variety of honors classes should be offered. However, the recognition of student s hard work and dutiful labor often falls between the cracks when it comes to getting into a college, and what colleges look for and at. The bulk of academies look for a potential student s GPA (grade point average), SAT and ACT scores, the application essay, and extracurricular activities. The GPA is essentially the sum total of a person s grades. Thus, most colleges do not look at specific grades for specific classes. As

Although acceptable results, when compared to the results of Part A these results seem to pale in comparison, and the reason for this discrepancy is unfortunately well known. By the end of the experiment there was some confusion as to what the exact products were supposed to be, peers that finished rather quickly reported a solid crystal as their product, which astounded some of my peers and myself, since we were still boiling a liquid substance that consisted of the results. After some research and inquiries with the TA from the lab next door, it was found that the actual product from the experiment was supposed to be a sort of oily substance characterized by a reddish tint. In the experiment performed here, the mixture did experience a period of a reddish tint, however believing the resultant compound would be a solid, this phase was ignored and continued to boil, which resulted in the given brownish oil. This confusion led to boiling the mixture for far more than was necessary, causing an excessive loss of sample; an obvious way this could have been avoided would have been to thoroughly research what the resultant compound s properties would be, instead of relying on the data and observations of other peers. Another possible reason for this discrepancy was the difficulty of separating the compounds in the separatory funnel, as the difference between the organic and aqueous layers was indiscernible, the only way to be able to discern them was to add more water, which could greatly affect the separation of the actual compounds, not to mention the possibility of some of the aqueous layer separating along with the organic layer, causing inconsistencies with the ester found in the layer2. That said, the

  • 20. Piggy Allegory Decivilization has happened in many generations and time periods. Lord of the Flies portrays this topic very well in comparison to World War II events and today s society. In the book, Lord of the Flies, the boys slowly lost civilization the longer they were stuck on the island. In the beginning the boys were still the prim and proper English boys they were raised to be. For instance, Piggy says, I agree with Ralph. We ve got to have rules and obey them. After all, we re not savages. We re English, and the English are the best at everything. So we ve got to do the right things (Golding 40). Jack trying to gain control over the island is just like how Hitler tried to gain control of Germany. Ralph tells Jack, You could have had fire whenever you wanted. But you didn t. You came sneaking up like a thief and stole Piggy s glasses! ( Golding ). By doing this Jack has taken control of the island just like how Hitler gained control and turned many Germans into Nazis. Also, Jack s hatred towards Ralph is just like when the Axis and the Allies were fighting. The Axis partners never used any types of military or foreign policies, unlike the Allie partners (ushmm.org 2015). Ralph is just like the Allie partners since he does not use force to get power. He uses the conch instead. At one point Ralph says, Whoever holds the conch gets to speak (Golding). Ralph wants the island to be civilized, but Jack has a completely different idea. Jack tries to use force and bribery to get power. That is almost exactly what the Axis partners did to try to win the war. They wanted control of the countries near them like how Jack wanted control of the whole island and the boys. The Allies showed no mercy when it came to World War II because they wanted everything their way. This is the same as when Jack kills the sow, when Simon is killed, and when Piggy is killed. • 21. The Theory Of Symbolic Interactionism Introduction The last theoretical perspective I have applied to my movie selection, Dead Man Walking, is the symbolic interaction theory. The theory was primarily established by American philosopher George Herbert Mead in the 1920 s and the term was later coined by American sociologist Herbert Blumer in the 1960 s (McClelland, 2000). Symbolic interactionism examines society on a small scale and focuses on interactions between individuals and how these relations impact social order (Brown, 2013). To comprehend human behavior, we must understand what the idea or situation means to the participant (Dubose, 2015). The same situation can have different meanings to different people and therefore affect people in different ways (Dubose, 2015). Throughout this analysis, I will apply the theory of symbolic interactionism to explain Poncelot s behaviors and interactions with other people in his life. Background Information Poncelot was an inmate on Death Row in a Louisiana Prison in the 1990 s. He was incarcerated for six years while awaiting his execution by lethal injection. He was convicted of killing two teenagers as well as brutally raping the female victim. At the beginning of the movie, Poncelot denied the allegations against him and blamed both crimes on his partner. Throughout the movie, he portrayed himself as an arrogant, racist, sexist, and condescending man. He was shunned by nearly all of the people he came in contact with and enjoyed the negative reaction his behavior

On the other hand, a person, group or organization that has interest or concern in an organization is known as its stakeholder. Stakeholders are one kind of owner for an organization. As a result these people want to know about the organization in details in which they are going to invest. In this regards financial statement or financial records are useful instruments for providing those information to the stakeholders. Usefulness of financial statements for stakeholders is discussed below: * A stakeholder is interested in the equity of the firm. The ultimate objective of a firm used to be maximizing profits. But now a days, goals have widened because of the changing environment in which the firm operates and includes earnings per share, employment numbers, management satisfaction, environmental protection and many other factors that have an effect on the equity of the business. For this reason, the stakeholders are interested in the financial information of the organization. * The firm s performance can be assessed through an income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement.

The Westboro experienced various pulses of deformation and metamorphism during the Proterozoic. Of notable interest are 1 to 3 meter wide, N NE striking, shallow dipping mylonitic zones exposed in and around the Breakheart Reservation in Saugus, MA. AMS analyses were useful in redefining the principal foliation, but did not aid in determining lineations or direction of shear sense. Nevertheless, these analyses in combination with local mapping tentatively point to the following sequence of events: 1) deposition of the Westboro; 2) greenschist facies metamorphism forming the principal foliation; 3) contact metamorphism, recorded by the formation of large cordierite porphyblasts; 4) mylonitization; 5) extrusion and deposition of overlying felsic flows and pyroclastic deposits; 6) intrusion of the Dedham granite (ca. 610 Ma) and possible retrograde metamorphism of porphryblasts; 7) additional contact metamorphism, recorded by unaltered cordierite aggregates rimming porphyroblasts; and 8) brittle deformation evidenced by thin bands of cataclasite in the Dedham. Rotated porphyroblasts and S C fabrics in the mylonites record a dextral transpressive sense of motion possibly along a restraining bend of a transcurrent system. Therefore mylonite blocks in the debrite are not easily explained by simple resedimentation in a rift

B.An explanation of how billing and coding works for healthcare services Medical billing and coding are two closely related aspects of the modern health care industry. Both practices are involved in the immensely important reimbursement cycle, which ensures that health care providers are paid for the services they perform. For the sake of simplicity, let s divide the two at the moment and look at them as separate pieces of a larger process. We ll begin with medical coding. Medical Coding Medical coding, at its most basic, is a little like translation. It s the coder s job to take something that s written one way (a doctor s diagnosis, for example, or a prescription for a certain medication) and translate it as accurately as possible into a numeric or alphanumeric code. For every injury, diagnosis, and medical procedure, there is a corresponding code. There are thousands and thousands of codes for medical procedures, outpatient procedures, and diagnoses. Let s start with a quick example of medical coding in action. A patient walks into a doctor s office with a hacking cough, high production of mucus or sputum, and a fever. A nurse asks the patient their symptoms and performs some initial tests, and then the doctor examines the patient and diagnoses bronchitis. The doctor then prescribes medication to the patient. Every part of this visit is recorded by the doctor or someone in the healthcare provider s office. It s the medical coder s job to translate every bit of relevant

The reason for this is that the muscles in the body are demanding more blood and, essentially, the heart must work harder in order to provide for the muscles needs. Athletes, who are more adapted to exercising environments have a lower maximum heart rate than individuals who do not exercise as frequently. In a study done between two groups of individuals one containing only athletes and the other containing individuals who had performed any type of exercise in the previous 6 months results showed that athletes had a lower heart ratewhen they performed exercise than non athletes (Martinelli 2005). The reason that athletes have a lower maximum heart rate is because the heart can pump blood to the rest of the body more efficiently in larger amounts than it would in a non athlete. In this experiment, a Vernier Hand Grip Rate Monitor was used to record the heart rate of an individual while the individual ran in place. The purpose of this experiment is to test whether or not there is any difference between the maximum heart rate if an individual that is an athlete and an individual that is not an athlete. In the end the films I chose are Juno, High Noon, The King s Speech, Exit Through the Gift Shop, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, and Apocalypse Now. The story takes place in Toledo, Spain and begins with the prisoner describing a delirious state in which he sees robed judges presiding over his sentencing. Prior to the pronounced judgment, he is overtaken by fear and faints. The story continues in vivid detail, as the prisoner describes over a period of days, through lingering periods of consciousness, his torturous entrapment. As the narrative moves forward, the prisoner assumes he s been sentenced to death. He awakens alone, in absolute blackness, for which he questions whether he is dead or alive. While examining the tight quarters of his cold and damp surroundings, he feels piercing eyes fixed upon him. Horror fills his body as he gazes upon large rats entering and exiting the pit of death. He realizes he is in the same dungeon, but it is much smaller than he had envisioned. As his eyes slowly adjust to the brightness of the lights, he becomes aware of a noise above him. Almost immediately, his eyes catch glimpse of the movement of a pendulum. Entranced and enthralled by its animated rhythm, he watches in both terror and delight as it swings backwards and forwards. This fascination soon turns to fear as the prisoner realizes a scimitar is attached to the bottom of the pendulum. A maniacal terror slowly creeps into his thoughts as he imagines the sounds of the blade first slicing into his robe and then tearing apart his flesh. Time drags by. He and the rats feast on pungently seasoned meat. The scimitar swings closer and closer, his death certain, when an idea occurs to him. With only seconds to spare before the sharp blade devours him, he quickly rubs the meat on the bandages binding his hands and feet. The smell attracts the rats who rush in and chew the bandages lose. He slides off the wood plank only seconds before his skin is perforated. Euphoria fills him at his victory over the pendulum of

  • 46. Socialization and Social Stratification Essay Socialisation is a learning process where people learn and adapt to the appropriate and accepted values, attitudes and behaviours of their society. Nevertheless, separate groups exist within societies for reasons including ethnicity, class and culture and these can bring their own set of norms . Bond and Bond in Sociologyand Social Care (2009 pg28) states From the cradle to the grave we are being socialised . Primary socialisation occurs from infancy to early adulthood. Secondary socialisation follows into the later stages of maturity. Anticipatory socialisation is where we learn to anticipate the actions and activities deemed appropriate by society. Resocialisation occurs when we learn new behaviours in response to new situations and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand, conflict theory perspective, which is interested in the imbalance of power in society views social stratification as an unsuccessful and ineffective system as it maintains imbalances of power and benefits only those in a position of prestige. Socialisation and social stratification impacts on our lives both positively and negatively. This essay will explore those effects in relation to social class and ethnicity and analyse how it impacts on the health and well beings of those groups. That analysis will entail looking at inequalities in health and the impact and explanations for such inequalities. For my conclusion I will be reflecting on the topics discussed and summarising the main issues. Social Class Stratification by economic status creates social classes. In Ireland, class structures are organised by occupation, ranging from professional workers such as doctors in class 1 to refuse collectors in class 7. The process of classifying people by occupation does not account for those in society who have no occupation such as the retired and long tern unemployed and those unable to work due to illness or disability. These people subsequently become known as the declassed . The class structure does not take account of women who work within the home as women can be categorised according to their husband s occupation . The Carstairs Social Deprivation Indicator which is used in Britain takes other elements such as car ownership and overcrowding

Essay about What Home Means to Me What Home Means to Me In a matter of fact, home is a noun that is defined in the Collins New School Dictionary as firstly, the place where you live, secondly, the place where you were born or you feel you belong. On the other hand, the dictionary also defines it as a place where people are looked after. The first meaning of the word home would not apply to me as I only have lived in Dubai, The United Arab Emirates for four years as compared to the seven years in Marseille, France. Every single area of my home has a history for me as I learned there how to walk, played games in front of the parking behind the shady trees, took part in football games in front of the grey towering buildings with my friends and many more childhood memories I still cherish. There is also my family and relatives who played an important part in my understanding of the word home. A herd of birds were migrating, unperturbed, towards the south. Our garden also has a barbecue, wooden chairs and tables. My house has a small quarter where a maid lives. As we enter the house there is a small corridor leading to the lounge covered with carpets, low Arabic sofas and a
