Who is one to say when your life ends? If you are religious then God makes that
call, but if you are not then your death is just a matter of time and waiting. When a
human being, whether a criminal or not, is put into that electric chair and strapped
away from their rights minutes before they are consciously aware that they are
about to die, that is when you know that as humans we have failed. What s even

There was an article written by John Darley and Daniel Batson, who was inspired
from the parable of the Good Samaritan and decided to organize a research to test
the limits of people s good will towards something. Later they also published their
research results in a paper in the year of 1973, titled From Jerusalem to Jericho. The
history of the parable of the Good Samaritanwas quite interesting. The research was
conducted based on 3 different hypotheses which they thought might influence
people s helping behavior. One of the hypotheses was that, people that were
thinking in terms of religious would have any effect on helping others. Second one
was that people that are in a rush will be less likely to offer any help to others
compared to the ones that are not in a rush. And the third one is that, people who are
religious, more in a Samaritanfashion, would be more like offer aid than those of a

helped me to feel more comfortable and some that made me feel reserved. One of the

I struggled with keeping clients on point when they just wanted to talk about other

These check ups felt impersonal and I felt that I was not providing them with what

helpful to inform the client that first we are going to go over a standard
questionnaire and then in the remaining time I would answer any questions or talk
about a topic of their choosing. I also went into the common area to find my clients

informal rapport building. I realized that the homeless clients in the shelter do not
have expectations of psychotherapy, however, I felt that these interviews were one
sided; they provided the agency with information and had no value for the client. I
would have changed that by spending remaining time talking about referrals,
available community resources, or anything that could have been potentially
beneficial for the client. I would also assign one volunteer for these interviews to
allow the best ongoing rapport building experience.
The context and the environment often impact the interview. In a comfortable office
of a therapist I felt open to talking about personal things, yet in the midst of strong
emotions I felt invalidated by a therapist who has chosen a formal style of an
interview. In a homeless shelter, I have managed to make some clients feel more
comfortable than others, but the fact that this process was an unbeneficial formality

In the first days he went through what is called FTO or Field officer training this
course can take from a couple weeks to a couple months depending on the area you
go to, the bigger the area the longer the training. In this course the department
teaches you their routine for the day and what they do on certain calls and how

the conditions necessary for the replacement of the blood feud with law and justice.
The blood feud began in the early generations of the House of Atreus, which was
cursed with pride and violence. The prophetess, Cassandra, described the blood filled
palace at Argos as an abominable place, full of guilty secrets . . . yea, of unnatural
murderers . . . aye, truly, a place of human sacrifice, sprinkled with blood of babes
(Aeschylus 37). After many horrific crimes in the House of Atreus, there seemed to
be an end to the blood feud, but it was only a pause. Agamemnon reignited the blood
feud by sacrificing Iphigenia, which began the events shaping the transition of the
blood feud into law. The Chorus warned about a later event saying, For patient,
terrible, never to be laid, is the wrath of the wife still plotting at home revenge for
