The Importance Of Suspension In Education
The most frequently used discipline practice amongst schools in America, is out of school
suspension (Lee, Cornell, Gregory, Xitao, 2011). Suspension is used as a consequence to correct a
student s actions or behavior on school ground. Periodically, this is an effective approach depending
on the student s mindset about their education. Socioeconomic status, ethnicity, and the environment
the students are raised in also tends to play a role in the student s behavior. Based on where an
adolescent is raised can be a critical factor because of the impact it can have on their achievement in
school. The dropout rates for urban students tend to be higher than students living in rural areas.
Suspension can lead to negative academic outcomes for students individually.
According to Gregory Ripski (2008), high school teachers frequently refer students for discipline
problems. Students suspended from school are more likely to be retained, get suspended again, and
have low achievement. Majority of the referrals for defiance occur in the classroom. The study
addressed the gaps within the relation among trust in authority and cooperation between discipline
referred students and teachers. Researchers suggest that cooperative behavior is the key for well
functioning high school classrooms, in which youth trust their teachers and engage in their
academic success. This study conducted 40 minute semistructured interviews and surveys regarding
students behavior and disciplinary approaches

How Does Class Conflict Affect Society and What Are Its...
How does class conflict affect society and what are its consequences?
As Karl Marx once said:
In class society, everyone lives as a member of a particular class, and every kind of thinking,
without exception, is stamped with the brand of a class.
In this essay we will be discussing the affect class conflict has on society from the 1600 s up until
the modern world today. We will be discussing how Karl Marxdeveloped his theory of class
conflict and look at the different areas of society and how it effects individuals.
To define it, class conflict is a tension or strain among individuals in society due to socio economic
interests between different socio classes. In can take on several different forms within society;

The evolution of the new lower middle classes in the 1980s has resulted in a group of people
who are no longer offered a voice. Traditionally the Labour party, in standing up for the working
class, has also, as a result stood up for the impoverished underclass as well. But now that Labour
stands for the new middle classes there is no one standing up for the ones Thatcher left behind.
There is no conflict today not because everyone is contented but because they have had their voice
taken away.
A consequence of class conflict is income inequality. Even though class status is not a casual
factor for income, surveys have shown, those in higher classes have higher incomes rather than
those in lower classes. This inequality still exists in occupation. Conditions at work vary greatly
between classes. The individuals in the upper middle class enjoy a relaxed work environment
with a good salary and receive respect from fellow employees and society in general but lower
middle class however lack in job satisfaction and tend to feel more alienated. While middle class
workers may suffer alienating conditions or lack of job satisfaction , blue collar workers suffer
alienating, often routine, work with obvious physical health hazards, injury, and even death .
Class also has an effect on one s lifestyle which includes leisure activities which reflects the attitude
and values of the person. Therefore the way in

The Formal Mission Of Collin County
Collin County is a governing body north of Dallas that has been experiencing rapid growth over the
past decade. Planning for the population growth, businesses expansions, and county debt has been
needed in order for the county to be sustainable during the great recession. The formal mission of
Collin Countyis to deliver services including justice, publicsafety, infrastructure, and public health
as mandated by the State of Texasand to execute other priorities as determined by the
Commissioners Court (Collin County). The mission statement is very concise and specific at times
by mentioning the main services that are provided, such as justice, public safety, infrastructure, and
public health. Length of mission statements can be cumbersome at times to understand because of
conflicting views. Collin s mission provides insight into the purpose that the organization is trying
to fulfill and constitutes of a great statement. Collin County s mission statement does not guide
particular actions or policies because it is there for public relations. Collin County does not have a
clear strategic plan for the county in general. There are a few strategic plans that are current in the
park district, but none have been implemented for the organization as a whole. Several capital
improvement plans are in place to improve transportation in and around the county. Current capital
project plans were implemented in 2007 and are still works in progress. The capital plans hint at the

Synchresis In Glas
Bert Haanstra s Glas is a short film made in 1958. The film focussed on the process of glass
making where two different methods of the process have been screened. Firstly it showed how
human beings are individually blowing the glasses and making artistic pieces out of it like
decorative materials, bottles, and cups etc., followed by the mechanical large scale mass
production of bottles which is mainly done by machines. It is found that the film is divided into
three clearly defined chapters. In the first chapter we mainly see the improvisatory method of glass
blowing where artisans are applying their individual artistic abilities in order to create glass objects
with a unique art impression. Whereas the second chapter involves the mechanical... Show more

The activity of the artisans from their hands are edited and shot in such a manner that it matches
perfectly with the melody pattern as well as the rhythm of the musical track that is accompanied. It
looks as if the music is been created by them, implying that whatever they are doing is also
highly artistic it s not just a mechanical production. This chapter of the movie involves wide use
of synchresis and is an ideal example of musical synchresis. Synchresis is the term coined by
French theorist Michel Chion which means synchronisation + synthesis. Since synchresis is the
phenomena of establishing a cause and effect relation between image and sound when they occur
together as if the image is causing the sound, or the sound is outcome of whatever is happening
on screen. As the sequence progresses the music also becomes faster in order to accompany the
faster editing pattern where we see a perfect amalgamation of mechanical production of glasses
with machines and human beings. For example: very brief shots of a man blowing are perfectly
synced with the notes or chords on saxophone, it looks as if they are the one playing the

The Body Shop
Introduction There is success in body care. Behold the Body Shop, one of the famous
international cosmetics brand. It is not just one s ordinary shop for body or hair care. It is
extraordinary just as its pioneer. The entrepreneur assessed in this paper is in no way or another
connected to me. Personal Profile
The name behind the Body Shop, a famous cosmetic line for decades now, is Anita Roddick. On
October 23, 1942 in Littlehampton, Sussex, England marks her birth to an immigrant Italian
family. After completing her degree at the Newton Park College of education, she worked as a part
time teacher and for the United Nations in Geneva. She traveled to different places like Tahiti, New
Hebrides, New Caledonia, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She risked selling alternative body care products. Nevertheless, she dealt with it with optimism. In
order to face success, it is of crucial importance to think of the ways by which the business model
will thrive in the marketplace. Another is to assess the strengths and opportunities of the business.
Lastly, it is always important to innovate, as this has always described entrepreneurs (Baghai,
Coley, and White, 2000). Innovations are proven to increase the business performance. During
Christmas last year, upon launching a new product, i.e. a strong Christmas gift range, and
improving customer services, operating profits from the division boosted to 17% to ₤11.7 million
(Geary, 2005). This is a recent event in the innovation strategies of Body Shop. Schumpeter (1939),
as cited in Mintrom, Schneider and Teske (1995), asserts that an entrepreneur functions to innovate,
which means devising new production function out of the existing factors of production. In simpler
terms, an entrepreneur is one who introduces a new product or a product that deviates from the
ordinary. Such is the basic idea or definition of an entrepreneur from which its modern definitions
have developed. Apart from the above, there is something about the packaging of the Body Shop
products. Roddick started with small bottles since that was what she was complaining on.

The Negative Impact Of Smart Phones
Smart phones have been a big part of the world in the decade, especially iPhones. The first
iPhone was released on June 29, 2007, with many more released since then ( History of Phone ).
Along with changing how people communicate, the success and availability of the iPhone has
impacted the world s economy in many ways. You can argue that here, in America, iPhones, have
positively impacted our society and our economy. People have greater access to income because
they conduct work in many different settings, all day long. However, people have begun to replace
human contact with virtual contact via their iPhones. This is a negative impact on our lives.
You can also argue that the iPhonehas had a negative impact on societies in many other countries in
which iPhone components are manufactured. There, Apple employees work long hours away from
their families, for minimal wages, in unsafe environments ( Globalization and Ideology ). They may
never even have the means to purchase their own iPhone. While Apple contributes to the economies
of many poor countries by manufacturing iPhone parts there, the company also steals from those
countries by robbing those employees of time interacting with family and friends.
According to The History of the iPhone (2014), the first iPhone was nicknamed Jesus phone
because of its impressive capabilities. It had a maximum storage of sixteen gigabytes. Now an
iPhone has storage available up to two hundred ninety six gigabytes. We can

they will soon be noticed. Sometimes smaller people make a bigger impact than others. Although
some may not see it, shorter people make an impact. In this world people do not realize how
much people make an impact. Take a look at Gandhi for instance, he was always teased for being

Analysis Of A Hope More Powerful Than The Sea
As a normal American citizen, we are not accustomed to being forced out of our homes and
having to live as nomads like the people of Syria have been living like since the Arab spring of
2011 the event that started what is now known as The Syrian Civil War. This war has literally
been tearing apart Syria and displacing 6.3 million people (Mercy corps). This crisis affects a lot of
Syrian individuals including one Doaa Al Zamel. In the book A Hope More Powerful Than the
Sea we get a firsthand account of what life was like before the start of the war and also a view
during the civil war and gives insight to life in the current state of Syria. Doaa s life in A Hope More
Powerful Than the Sea had her moving around the Middle Eastfor most of her early adulthood.
Throughout her moves to different parts of the Middle East she had many experiences both good
and bad. The government, daily life in the Middle East, and family problems that arose during the
moves affected Doaa s life greatly.
Doaa s life in Syria started out good her family would spend days at a lake by their home in
Daraa and enjoy time together as a family swimming and doing things that normal people are
able to do. But then once Doaa s immediate family moved out of the Al Zamel family house Doaa
s life slowly began to take a slight turn down a downward slope as they would deal with hardships.
To make the extra money Doaa s father Shokri started taking goods to and from Jordan for a
business man and this went

The Software Development Field Of Computer Science
Currently, I am pursuing a career in the software development field of computer science. In this
field, I will mostly be creating programs and software to be installed or run on computers or
other machines. Of course like any professional career, ethical issues can appear, but the issues
found in the tech industry are not always found in the office area. Many of the issues developers
face are outside of the office area and out in the field. The type of issues I am addressing is
computercrimes, computer failures, protection and theft of software, and the corruption of privacy
and company property. Developers face the challenge of protecting their programs from being
misused and making sure that the programs are safe for users. Two cases that show these types of
dilemmas are the Therac 25case and the infamous Target hack of 2013. The Therac 25 case will
show what happens when a product and its software are not properly constructed, while the Target
Hack case will show an example of the misuse of software that lead to millions of credit cards
stolen.
It is not uncommon for a company to want to shell out their newest and latest machine as quick
as possible, but along with this comes the temptations to cut corners and possibly make mistakes.
The Therac 25 case is a famous example of this. The Therac 25 was originally developed in 1976
by the Atomic Energy of Canada and CGR, a French Based Company (Nielsen, 2003). The Therac
25 was a multi million dollar radiation therapy

your Coach should only withdraw his hand from the floodgate, it would immediately fly open, and
the fiery floods of the fierceness and wrath of your Coach, would rush forth with inconceivable fury,

Analyzing How Big Data Analytics Is Used For Today s Data...
troduction
Every day, we produce 2.5 quintillion bytes of data. 90% of all data in the world was produced
in the past two years. Data has been around forever; we have always gathered information.
Paleolithic cavemen recorded their activities by carving them in stone or notching them in
sticks. Egyptians used hieroglyphics to record significant events in history. The Library of
Alexandria was home to half a million scrolls of the ancient world. Less than hundred years ago,
we used punch cards to record and store information. As technology continues to evolve, the
amount of data we store continues to grow. We ve come a long way since stone tablets, scrolls,
and punch cards. It s important to understand the concept of big data and the impact is has
created. This paper will define the classifications of data, explain the challenges of big data, and
describe how big data analytics is being used in today s data driven world.
Classifying Data
Data can be classified into three distinct categories: structured, unstructured, and semi structured. It
is important to understand these classifications and the challenges they present.
Structured data follows a specific pattern of organization and is easy to access, manage, and store. It
fits nicely into rows and columns of traditional database management systems.
Unstructured data is unorganized; it follows no specific pattern or order.
It does not fit into rows and columns and cannot be easily accessed, processed or searched. This type

The Journey Of Self Discovery
Who are you? Who are you in the eyes of a total stranger and who would they see when they look
at you? Is this perception of you the same or different from who you think you are or who you
want to be? Do you know who you are, and if you do, when did you take the path of self
discovery? The journey of self discovery is a journey that most people take at some point during
their life, whether it is very early in life or rather late in life. In the novels, Billy Lynn s Long

Each of the protagonists have started or completed their path towards their journey to self
discovery, however no path is identical and the results of having started or having completed the
journey vary in significance and effectiveness in regards to the impact that they have one their
lives. The life you live is what shapes who you are and is what leads you on your path towards
self discovery. This may seem obvious, that self discovery is a journey that happens during one
s lifetime, but some people are not as fortunate to live such a fulfilled life that they are able to
partake in such a journey. There are people that would argue that to simply have a life does not
mean that one is actually living. With that being said, it is privilege to not only live a life, but to
also discover one s own identity because some people who live do not get that far either. In these
three novels the three protagonists, Billy Lynn, Jay Gatsby, and Invisible Man, have all lived lives
that have led them on their path to self discovery. Billy s own journey was one mainly focused on
battling with his own inner self. Inner peace you need to know who you are, what you want out of
life. You have to do your own thinking, and for that you better know who you are, and not just
know but be secure in it, comfortable with yourself (Fountain), in this quote Billy is recognizing

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Using Prezi

Before computers were commonplace, presenters usually had an easel with posters or drawings to
show any necessary graphics to the audience. In some cases the speaker would have a slide

Nowadays, there are various software package suites contain a program designed together with

There is limited selection of fonts and colours in Prezi. Mastering Prezi is time consuming.
Overall, Prezi is great tool that many would find very useful in the making of presentation.

with winds reaching 145 mph (Williams and Duedall 42). Hurricane Andrew impact was felt in
many ways such as environmentally, economically, and socially in Florida.
To begin with, Hurricane Andrew impacted Florida s environment by causing damage to many
plants. Because Andrew path of destruction aligned with three National Parks this hurricane
affected many different ecosystems including coral reefs, mangroves, and marshes lands (Harper
52). While many of these ecosystems did not get damaged severely, Gray E. Davis et al. reported
that where the hurricane s eye left the west coast to move across the gulf, more than 85% of the
mangrove trees had blown over ( par. 21). This massive damage to the mangroves ecosystem was
due to the intense winds Andrew created. In addition to the damage caused by the storm to
vegetation, some of the environmental damage was caused by debris from destroyed homes. John

Health Maintenance Organizations
In the United States, there are different Health Maintenance Organizations that work towards
promoting the health of the American citizens. Each health maintenance organization works
independently since they belong to different categories. Also, the organizations belonging to the
same category have some activities and measures that are common. The Health Maintenance
Organizations can be categorized into four different groups. The different categories include
Commercial, Marketplace, Medicaid and Medicare (Kongstvedt, 2016). In the due process of

The first thing that surprised me is how the organizations have taken serious the issue of children
immunization. As noticed, all the organizations have done a lot of immunizations to children in the
United States. Since there are many children who are born in the country, a majority of them have
to go for various important immunizations. If children fail to be immunized, parents understand that
they could run into health problems in future. Therefore, the high percentage of immunization that
cuts across all the three selected organizations shows how parents in the United States as well as the
health care organizations take serious the issue of protecting the new born children against

The Literary Aspects Of Science Fiction And Detective Fiction
The literary genres of science fiction and detective fiction offer differing approaches when
addressing a contextual fear of the unknown, as the former poses the question of what if? rather
than answering these fears as the latter does. Exemplars of this include Ray Bradbury s A Sound
of Thunder and Conan Doyle s The Adventures of the Dancing Men as their societal context
necessitated a narrative to address the notion of foreign. These short stories employ various
conventions as they both alleviate and build upon the public s fearthrough notions such as justice,
help and control.
Both science and detective fiction possess inherent conventions that allow them to contextually
address society s fear of foreignness contrarily. Science fiction, as a genre, asks what if? , providing
alternative possibilities of reality, a concept emphatically prevalent in time travel. The fantastic
elements of time travel are considered in direct contrast to known reality (Burton 106) in order to
address contextual fears by asking, rather than answering, the question of what if? . This ability to
view and change the past and future thus encourages the genre to address contextual fears by
providing alternatives to reality (NГ Fhlainn 180). Detective fiction takes the opposite approach
however, as its inherent desire to solve consequently requires answering society s fears. This genre
provides a process of question and answer in regards to addressing fears and ultimately engages in a

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Revelations
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, who was later also known as Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, was born in
1840 in Russia. He was the first Russian who got an international fame due to his music in the
classical repertoire. Regarding our essay, we have chosen the song which is originally composed
by Tchaikovsky and then later in 1895, Ivanov along with Petipa revised the Swan Lake.
The choreography of Swan lake The Kirov Ballet basically focuses on is the Revelations and
Bacchanale. Revelation is the dance that I like the most, however, Baccanale is my least favorite
dance. To me, the dance symbolizes the parson s socialization in western civilization concerning
roles of gender. In the past era, there was a gesture that was separated from full embodiment and
emotion, but with the passage of time, those gestures become more recognizable and meaningful.
People move with the rhythm of the music, which is known as Dance. It is also known as art
performance that contains organized and selected movements of the human body. There are
several kinds of dance such as informal, professional performance, and ritual performance. The
dance involves several moves of the body with the music in the specific space to express
emotions, feelings of joy or an idea to get delighted by the body movements and also with the
purpose to release energy.
Revelations
Revelations is my most favorite dance and it was first performed by the Alvin Ailey in American
Dance Theatre and is known as three section dance. The reason why it fascinates me a lot is that
each section of this dance focus and display distinct factors that the people (Africans Americans)
affected since the era of slavery and it is still present to fight for their rights. The theme of this
dance is a unity that is showcased in every piece that was controversial in America because of
racial discrimination. Pilgrim of Sorrow is the first section of this dance that is opened with a
group of dancers. The dancers are in harmony using their arms in alegato tempo to create angular
shapes. The dancers constantly moved and separated separately, but in the other step they would
come back as one unit and become coordinated where they extended their long arms upwards. Their

RFID Implementation Essay
RFID Implementation
Once a company decides to use RFID, the most important step in the process is being able to
successfully gather the data and manipulate it into meaningful information. Doing this as
effectively and efficiently as possible requires a proper RFID implementation, which for many
reasons, can prove to be the most difficult stage of the entire process. A company new to RFID
will find that many changes have to take place to make sure the implementation is as successful as
possible. Ensuring a successful implementation involves changes in all fundamental areas of the
company, including their systems and products (Zebra Technologies). While these changes will
prove to be difficult, many companies find that they can conduct ... Show more content on

Having meaningful information means it can be easily integrated into any of the company s
applications, and can give them a real time view of all of their supply chain processes. These
benefits are all possible using RFID middleware, but it is a step that is often overlooked during
implementation (Implementing RFID). Ignoring the importance of middleware, many companies
have found that the large amounts of data they receive from the system becomes too much to
manage, thus leading to problems with the integration of the system and overall performance of the
company.
With more companies becoming aware of the importance of middleware in their implementation,
there is a need developing for a powerful middleware solution to handle all of the technical
features of the system. The middleware should be able to handle both passive and active RFID
sensors to ensure data can be gathered from all products. The full potential of the system will not
be realized if only a limited number of sensors and readers can be detected. In addition, there are
also a number of data and server considerations that can be fulfilled by a middleware package. Its
job is to make sure the correct information from each tag can be pulled from the server when
necessary (Implementing RFID). This can be done by taking the relevant information from various
business applications over the Web. A strong middleware package should also be able to show all
operations and inventory movements in real time to

Their longtime head had retired and William J. Loveday became their new CEO. He brought in a
whole new management team to help him implement new ideas and create a new culture there. His
new CFO was in charge of the IS department and after discovering that the department was in
shambles with no real direction, he hired Walter C. Zerrener to become the Chief Information

They also allowed the outdated technology to be maintained instead of replacing it with new
technology. The organizational structure created problems for the systems used at Methodist as
well. All the departments using the old system had no problem internally, but they were not
connected with any other departments. There was no common database and processes. For
example, different departments used different patient identifiers and when physicians needed
information on a patient s history, they could not get it from the various computers because the
patient was identified differently in each of them. This created a lot of dissatisfaction for both the
doctors and the patients. Technologically they were dependent on an outdated system which
created a backlog of five to seven months. Further, the mainframe system could only be accessed
from terminals inside the hospital which made it inaccessible to doctors, patients and other
interested parties. The system could only keep current information on patients formally admitted
for a week and if older records were required one had to go look at the paper records. All of these
created a disorganized and fragmented working environment.
Process Evaluation
Zerrenner suggested they create a short term task force of 25 members to determine an appropriate
solution instead of using the IS

What causes that crumpling? What makes the accumulated images fold up over the years? How

Ramsay, the model hostess. Lily even feels like she is soaking up some of Mrs. Ramsay s glory a
collective, feminine splendor just by being in her presence. On the other hand, Lily harbors an
aversion for Mrs. Ramsay. For instance, this reproof surfaces during the dinner party, when Lily
observes that Mrs. Ramsay led her victims...to the altar (Woolf 101). Although both contradictory
impulses are strong, her criticism of Mrs. Ramsay gains intensity in the novel s end. Consequently,
Lily s wrestle with Mrs. Ramsay s invisible presence makes the two becomes antagonists (Andre
par. 12).
A general sense of chaos also creases Lily s life. Andre notes that the Greek word khaos denotes
an abyss, which is related to chasm (par. 3). This chasm, or distance, is the source of Lily s
conflict, because Woolf associates it with change. When Mr. Ramsay sets out to the lighthouse,
for example, Lily relates the distance with change: Already the little distance they had sailed
had put them far from it and given it the changed look, the composed look, of something
receding in which one has no longer any part (Woolf 166). Lily s awareness of the chaos deepens
it; she is aware of the disorder around her and the complexity of her responses to that disorder
(Gorsky 103). Her concerted effort to respond, to discern some pattern in existence, and, if
necessary...to impose a sense of order on the constant flux of daily life

Roman Funeral Eulogy
The upper class
The class in society a Roman held, played a huge role in how elaborate the funeral ceremony was,
and how well the body was preserved.
The wealthy would be guarentted an elaborate ceremony. The body of the deceased would be on
display for mourning for a lengthy period of time, and treated with extreme care, as explained
earlier. The body would never be left alone as it was belived this would be bad luck for the
deceaseds afterlife. After the mourning period, the funeral wpuld take place. It is a common
misperception that the funeral was a big parade, when in reality it was a quiet affair, and the
funeral procession was more of a celebration.
A Eulogy was usually only read for the very wealthy, differing from how funerals are conducted
today. However these were usually resrved only for the families with links to power. An example
of how a eulogy would go, is seen in Julius Caesars eulogy to his Aunt Julia, known as laudatio
Iuliae amitae. The translated English version begins The family of my aunt Julia is descended by

The Chemical Compounds Of Synthetic Fertilizer
Once soil is intoxicated, the chemical compounds in synthetic fertilizer create a harmful
environment for microbial life and are later dispersed to surrounding areas through the process
of hydrology. In naturally fertile soil, microbial life is diverse and abundant. In fact, as soil
microbiologist David Zuber has stated in his Soil Microbiology FAQ article, there can be
hundreds of millions to billions of microbes in a single gram (about the size of a navy bean in
volume) of soil. These microbes range from bacteria, actinomycetes, fungi, cyanobacteria,
protozoa, and microarthropods, all of which play very specialized roles in maintaining the
integrity of soil. Innately, microbes ward off pathogens, provide root protection, and maintain
oxygen and moisture levels. (Hermary). For example, microbes consume a naturally abundant and
potent form of nitrogen (NH4+), along with other compounds, and excrete preferred forms of
nitrogen (NO2 N and NO3 N). This process, fixation, allow microbes to maintain a fixed levels of
essential chemicals. Likewise, through the process of denitrification, anaerobic bacteria provides
oxygen to soil by removing excess nitrate (NO3 N), while other microbes aerate and disperse the
supplied oxygen. While microbes execute an assortment of other tasks, it is apparent that these
organisms create a balance. However, with the introduction of synthetic fertilizer, this natural
balance is ravaged. As a result of repetitive application of synthetic

The Rise Of Birth Control
In 1965, President Johnson said, Less than five dollars invested in population control is worth a
hundred dollars invested in economic growth (Bailey, 2013). The rise of contraception in the
United States was controversial and highly debated in court. But, once the movement got rolling, it
was hard to stop. When a Gallop Poll in 1936 asked if United States citizens favor the birth control
movement, 61 percent answered yes. This was a shocking discovery, because until that time
contraception seemed like a taboo topic. Today, the manufacturing and selling of birth control is
legal in all 50 states. Family planning services are now subsidized by federal and state governments
and nonprofit and private organizations (Goldin and Katz, 2000). This nationwide movement
enables women to choose when they start families. By allowing women to have the authority to
utilize contraception, positive trends have been seen in economic advancement, education
attainment and population trends.
The Rise of Birth Control The first oral contraception, Envoid, was introduced in 1957. Although
introduced, state laws prohibited physicians from prescribing the Pill and pharmacists from selling
it. Fifty years ago, two major shifts in the access to birth control occurred. In 1965, the trial
Griswold versus Connecticut ended restrictions on the sale of contraceptives. Secondly, federal
government boosted funding for family planning from 1964 to 1973, these changes are still making

Greek Gods Dbq
Greek gods good, bad, or both? Well, they are bad and good for the Ancient Greek Civilization. I
ll explain two positive and negative effects it had on Ancient Greeks. These effects affect
virtually every aspect of their society. As stated in Historical. The First positive reason it had is
that they could say that the gods did anything they couldn t explain. They said this because the
gods were supposedly in control of every part of daily life. Such as the weather, crops, love,
money, business, earthquakes, phases of the moon, and if a loaf of bread burned in the oven.
As stated in Document two. That seems like a crazy thing to see that people used to do but that

negative) reason is where they used to live Its a positive effect effects because the view was

Chapter 10: Performance Management:
(21 Oct 13)
According Dressler, assessment happens in the workplace of the organization in three different
ways depending on the situation, such as the following: Evaluation by the immediate supervisor:
the supervisor should be the best person to assess his or her employees, because of the supervisors
of these are directly related to the performance of the staff. As a result, it would be easy to evaluate
the performance of staff and gave the results of a large specific. The use of peer assessment: peer
assessment more accurate than their managers, because there is a relationship between bonds
immediate staff. This strategy gives the evacuation of better performance from their managers.
Committees Rating: prefer many employees are evaluated by committees, because it seems that the
rating committees more trustworthy, fair and compelling. Management s assessment of staff:
managers evaluate employees are not traditionally known in the workplace, but this idea has spread
is between the organization recently. This strategy gives workers the right to evaluate the managers
where they can feel that there is equality in the organization. As a result, it may increase the

African American Teachers
An American psychiatrist by the name of William Glasser once stated, When you study great
teachers...you will learn much more from their caring and hard work than from their style. Teachers
are a huge part of an individual s life. From the time a person enters into preschool until the
complete cessation of their educational career, the teachers and professors along the way each
influence that student s perspective and feeling towards the particular subject they taught. With
daily interactions, teachers become a part of a student s microsystem. They are often times the only
other constant adult figure in their student s life apart from the caregiver. Whether it is
acknowledged or not, the importance of teacher cannot be overstated. Unfortunately,... Show more

There will be one semi instructed interview a week asking about specific situation in the
classroom. During the interviews snacks and drinks will be provided for the students to enable
them to feel more comfortable in the coming days. The purpose of this study is to see if there is
a significant impact of African American teachers on female African American students
academic achievement. The participants test scores will be recorded on a laptop. The notes
from the interviews and observations in the classroom will be kept in separate notebooks. At the
beginning of the research, the teachers will be asked how their teaching style differs from the
normative teaching module. Also the participants will be given notebooks to record their own
feelings about school and life in. Every two months the material will be collected and recorded
in a laptop. Every four months the 11 15 year old participants will be given a 15 dollar gift card to
the mall as an incentive to keep them interested and active in the study. After each recording, there
will be member checking and the and all three researchers will combine notes to ensure what is

How Many Volcanoes Are There
Imagine hiking up a dormant volcano and all of a sudden the volcano starts to rumble What s the
cause? The cause of the volcano occur when an underground chamber overflows creating an
explosion out the top of the volcano. Volcanoes can have effects on the land and its people.
When volcanoes erupt they can have some drastic but beautiful changes to the earth. The author of
the informational article, Russell McDonaugh, states that Depending on the location of the volcano,
it can take thousands of years of weathering for the ash and rock deposits to form a rich soil.
When they do become soils, they are often among the richest soils on earth. Volcanic soils are very
fertile and can help plants grow very fast with the nutrients in the soil. Volcanos are very good for
the land maybe, after a couple thousand years, but sometimes the beauty of the nature is destroyed
by the ongoing building on our world.

Nt1310 Data Link Layer
The Data link layer [also called layer 2] is responsible for moving a message from one computer
or network device to the next computer or network device in the overall path from sender or
receiver. It controls the way messages are sent on the physical media. Both the sender and receiver
have to agree on the rules or protocols that govern how they will communicate with each other. A
data link protocol determines who can transmit at what time, where a message begins and ends, and
how a receiver recognizes and corrects a transmission error.
The data link layer performs two main functions, and therefore is often divided into two sublayers.
Logical link control [LLC] sublayer The first sublayer is the data link layer s connection to the
network layer above it. At the sending computer, the LLC sublayer software is responsible for
communicating with the network layer software ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The MAC sublayer software at the sending computer controls how and when the physical layer
converts bits into the physical symbols that are sent down the circuit. At the receiving computer,
the MAC sublayer software takes the data link layer PDU from the LLC sublayer, converts it into
a stream of bits, and controls when the physical layer actually transmits the bits over the circuit. At
the receiving computer, the MAC sublayer receives a stream of bits from the physical layer and
translates it into a coherent PDU, ensures that no errors have occurred in transmission, and passes
the data link layer PDU to the LLC sublayer.
Both the sender and receiver have to agree on the rules or protocols that govern how their data link
layers will communicate with each other. A data link protocol performs three functions:
Controls when computers transmit (media access control)
Detects and corrects transmission errors (error control)
Identifies the start and end of a message by using a PDU (message

conversations to take place at the same time on each different port. When it comes to deciding
how different sides know what ports to use there are things called Well known ports and these
port numbers can be used in for services and applications. There are also registered ports and

UDP on the other hand receives packets in the order in which they arrive and not by the order
they were sent. UDP acknowledges that it will receive all packets and as long as all packets are
received the full data that is being sent will be intact and whole. This difference also works in
line with TCP authenticating everything that goes through it. While UDP does not have an
authentication build to it just takes the packets as they come if they are coming from a known
sender that way no time is wasted. That is why both methods are needed because somethings do
not require the authentication method while other need to go through it for security purposes.

Justification And Justification Of The Penal System
Punishment in general can obviously be justified (in the traditional sense of the term) on utilitarian
grounds. Nevertheless, usually its justification is not asked for. Because justification of
punishment, in general is unnecessary. It is the justification of particular infliction of pain (or
punishment) that can be enquired of. As a man can legitimately ask for justification of a
particular law of a state. However, nobody enquires of the justification of legal system or of law in
general. It is meaningful to ask, Can this rule be justified? Or Are not those laws justifiable? But it
is not worthwhile rather it is absurd to ask, Can law (in general) be justified? Similarly, punishment
in general or penal system requires no... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Retribution assigns a punishment that is appropriate to the crime, which is ideal in punishing
criminals whereas general deterrence works to persuade society to obey the law, and specific
deterrence work. From the variety of utilitarian justifications of punishment, retribution is the most
convincing as its theoretical goals are sustained through societies, whereas general and specific
deterrence cannot be justified on their own, as they do not match with retribution.
For retributionists, punishment is backward looking, justified by the crime that has been
committed and carried out to atone for the damage already done. Retributivism covers all theories
that justify punishment because the offender deserves it. This is interpreted in two ways, either a
person must be punished because they deserve it (deserving is a sufficient reason for punishment),
or a person must not be punished unless they deserve it (deserving is a necessary but not sufficient
condition for punishment). There are two distinct types of retributive justice. The classical definition
embraces the idea that the amount of punishment must be proportionate to the amount of harm
caused by the offence. Many strands of retrivbutism including Lex Talionis which seeks to restore
the balance between offender and victim. The third is in accordance with the grievance principle;

Libor, the London Interbank Lending Rate, is considered to be one of the most important rates in
finance because trillions of financial contracts utilize this rate. Libor is used globally as a
benchmark interest rate 2 in which it is used to set up a range of financial deals. It is also used as
measure for financial institutions to gauge their trust level in the financial system and to check
each institutions financial health. This rate is determined by a group of leading banks that submit
the rates of ten different currencies and fifteen lengths of loans, which range from overnight to
twelve months2. The most important part is the three month dollar Libor 2, which is the rate that
other banks would borrow from each other for three months. Traders managed to manipulate this
rate because the rates submitted are estimates; it would be relatively easy to submit false figures2.
Traders in other banks devised a plan with each other by submitting rates that were higher or lower
than the actual estimate in order to control the interest rate.
Libor is an interest rate that is determined by the rates at which banks lend funds to each other on
the London interbank market. Every day the banks submit their borrowing costs to the Thomson
Reuters data collection service in which an agent calculates out Libor2. The agent discards the
highest and lowest quarter of submissions and then

Schools Should End Up Hurting American Students
America has always been a place where people from all over the world have strived to travel in
hopes of creating a better and more promising future for themselves. In today s classrooms, teachers
are experiencing the culture and language related effects of that endeavor. With an increasing
amount of non English speakers entering the country each year, the population of students who
speak English as a second languageor no English at all increases as well. Not only are these students
entering with knowledge of another language but they also enter with the history of another culture.
These students are taught and raised to love their traditional languages and cultures. To take these
aspects away from them in order to make them understand our way of life is not fair nor is it
educationally beneficial. Some say foreigners need to assimilate because they are entering our
country and by trying to accommodate their tradition, schools will end up hurting American
students educational progress. This is not found to be true in as many cases as one would think
though. By incorporating home or second language and diverse cultural exploration in combination
with Standard English and American culture into the classroom, all students will benefit in multiple
areas of learning and life. With evidence from studies, it is exemplified that implementing home
language and culture in combination with English and American culture may improve the
academic performance of all students. When

The Communist Manifesto And The Revolution
Part B #2: The Communist Manifesto and the Revolution
A revolution generally thought of as a change from the norm. According to Christopher Hill the
definition of a revolution is a complete over throw of the established government in any country or
state by those who have been previously subjected to it . Another way to think about a revolution is
as an uprising caused by a group of individuals towards another group due to unfair conditions or
treatment. The Communism Manifesto, written by Karl Marx, was a document written for the
general public that described communism and promoted the oppressed individuals to change
societal social class. I will argue that the Communism Manifesto was a document that was meant to
start a revolution. In society the oppressors, the bourgeoisie, had complete control over the
government, working condition, as well as the lives of the oppressed middle and lower class, the
proletariats. If the proletariats wanted to see a change in the inequality caused by the class system
and regain power then it is the essential that the proletariats overthrow the existing power.
According to the Manifesto the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class
struggle, in other words class conflict has occurred throughout history, and will continue to occur. A
revolution will lead history towards its final destination.
The proletariats are the group of people, according to the Communist Manifesto, that will eventually
over throw the

Essay On Port Royal
Introduction
In the Civil War, there were many battles and key points that helped in the victory of the Union.
The Battle of Port Royal was the second battle of the Civil War. The Battle of Port Royal
culminated an amphibious operation designed to establish a United States military depot on the
southeastern coast to carry out land and sea operations against the Confederacy (Wise 2016). This
battle gave the Union its first victory. In November 1861 the Union attacked the Confederate at Port
Royal, South Carolina. This battle lasted for four days from November Third, 1861 to November
Seventh, 1861. This battle had the Union fighting the Confederate for control over the port. The
Union took control and shut down the port. This Union victory shut down a place of resources for
the Confederate.
Background Information
Three days after the fall of Fort Sumter in April of 1861, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed
a blockade of all Southern ports ( The story of the Battle of Port Royal 2012).After the fall of Fort
Sumter, there was a new order for the ports to be closed. The South refused this order. Because of
this refusal, the Union wanted to punish the South. The North had a plan to form a blockade of the
Southern ports. In order to continue with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

together and keep one part of the nation under control. If this battle never took place then where
America is now would be split into two different countries and would still have slaves. This battle

Amygdala Case Study
Hi Nancy,
I really enjoyed your take on this week s discussion post and how you approached it primarily from
the emotional and biological perspective. As you mentioned, any damage to amygdala can cause a
variety of symptoms, but primarily, the individual will experience an impaired ability to practice
and/or identify both fear and negative emotions. Individuals with traumatic brain injuries involving
the amygdala react differently to various stimuli, mainly due the numerous factors involved in the
way that the amygdala responds based on both the location and the level of brain damage sustained.
In some, conditions like Kluver Bucy Syndrome can appear, where the individual has trouble
understanding visual information such as mood or facial expressions ... Show more content on

For instance, in one study where the brain functioning of 41 murderers were evaluated, researchers
found that the amygdala had weaker activity in the left hemisphere of their brain than they did on
their right. In other words, poor functioning in some areas indicates an inability to learn from
experience, as well as an emotional load that outweighs the ability of the left hemisphere to
regulate it (Ramsland, K.M., 2005, p. 70). Damage to this area of the brain can obviously create
behavioral manifestations as well, including anger, rage, and inability to react properly to the
surrounding environment. Also, in other research noted by Berry Dee (2007), the limbic system can
either reward or punish the brain and if areas of the limbic system are damaged, such as the
amygdala itself, and these individuals can also exhibit indiscriminate sexual behaviors. I think the
biggest piece of information I gained from this week topic is that a variety of responses can come
from injury to the amygdala, and given its ability to disrupt recognition of certain emotional
behaviors, there is certainly a concern that individuals can either be a danger to themselves (by not
being able to detect danger or emotions of others in their environment) or by being a danger to
others (as is the case with the findings associated with amygdala dysfunctions in serial

  • 2. The Importance Of Suspension In Education The most frequently used discipline practice amongst schools in America, is out of school suspension (Lee, Cornell, Gregory, Xitao, 2011). Suspension is used as a consequence to correct a student s actions or behavior on school ground. Periodically, this is an effective approach depending on the student s mindset about their education. Socioeconomic status, ethnicity, and the environment the students are raised in also tends to play a role in the student s behavior. Based on where an adolescent is raised can be a critical factor because of the impact it can have on their achievement in school. The dropout rates for urban students tend to be higher than students living in rural areas. Suspension can lead to negative academic outcomes for students individually. According to Gregory Ripski (2008), high school teachers frequently refer students for discipline problems. Students suspended from school are more likely to be retained, get suspended again, and have low achievement. Majority of the referrals for defiance occur in the classroom. The study addressed the gaps within the relation among trust in authority and cooperation between discipline referred students and teachers. Researchers suggest that cooperative behavior is the key for well functioning high school classrooms, in which youth trust their teachers and engage in their academic success. This study conducted 40 minute semistructured interviews and surveys regarding students behavior and disciplinary approaches ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Does Class Conflict Affect Society and What Are Its... How does class conflict affect society and what are its consequences? As Karl Marx once said: In class society, everyone lives as a member of a particular class, and every kind of thinking, without exception, is stamped with the brand of a class. In this essay we will be discussing the affect class conflict has on society from the 1600 s up until the modern world today. We will be discussing how Karl Marxdeveloped his theory of class conflict and look at the different areas of society and how it effects individuals. To define it, class conflict is a tension or strain among individuals in society due to socio economic interests between different socio classes. In can take on several different forms within society; violence (take for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The evolution of the new lower middle classes in the 1980s has resulted in a group of people who are no longer offered a voice. Traditionally the Labour party, in standing up for the working class, has also, as a result stood up for the impoverished underclass as well. But now that Labour stands for the new middle classes there is no one standing up for the ones Thatcher left behind. There is no conflict today not because everyone is contented but because they have had their voice taken away. A consequence of class conflict is income inequality. Even though class status is not a casual factor for income, surveys have shown, those in higher classes have higher incomes rather than those in lower classes. This inequality still exists in occupation. Conditions at work vary greatly between classes. The individuals in the upper middle class enjoy a relaxed work environment with a good salary and receive respect from fellow employees and society in general but lower middle class however lack in job satisfaction and tend to feel more alienated. While middle class workers may suffer alienating conditions or lack of job satisfaction , blue collar workers suffer alienating, often routine, work with obvious physical health hazards, injury, and even death . Class also has an effect on one s lifestyle which includes leisure activities which reflects the attitude and values of the person. Therefore the way in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Formal Mission Of Collin County Collin County is a governing body north of Dallas that has been experiencing rapid growth over the past decade. Planning for the population growth, businesses expansions, and county debt has been needed in order for the county to be sustainable during the great recession. The formal mission of Collin Countyis to deliver services including justice, publicsafety, infrastructure, and public health as mandated by the State of Texasand to execute other priorities as determined by the Commissioners Court (Collin County). The mission statement is very concise and specific at times by mentioning the main services that are provided, such as justice, public safety, infrastructure, and public health. Length of mission statements can be cumbersome at times to understand because of conflicting views. Collin s mission provides insight into the purpose that the organization is trying to fulfill and constitutes of a great statement. Collin County s mission statement does not guide particular actions or policies because it is there for public relations. Collin County does not have a clear strategic plan for the county in general. There are a few strategic plans that are current in the park district, but none have been implemented for the organization as a whole. Several capital improvement plans are in place to improve transportation in and around the county. Current capital project plans were implemented in 2007 and are still works in progress. • 5. Synchresis In Glas Bert Haanstra s Glas is a short film made in 1958. The film focussed on the process of glass making where two different methods of the process have been screened. Firstly it showed how human beings are individually blowing the glasses and making artistic pieces out of it like decorative materials, bottles, and cups etc., followed by the mechanical large scale mass production of bottles which is mainly done by machines. It is found that the film is divided into three clearly defined chapters. In the first chapter we mainly see the improvisatory method of glass blowing where artisans are applying their individual artistic abilities in order to create glass objects with a unique art impression. Whereas the second chapter involves the mechanical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The activity of the artisans from their hands are edited and shot in such a manner that it matches perfectly with the melody pattern as well as the rhythm of the musical track that is accompanied. It looks as if the music is been created by them, implying that whatever they are doing is also highly artistic it s not just a mechanical production. This chapter of the movie involves wide use of synchresis and is an ideal example of musical synchresis. Synchresis is the term coined by French theorist Michel Chion which means synchronisation + synthesis. Since synchresis is the phenomena of establishing a cause and effect relation between image and sound when they occur together as if the image is causing the sound, or the sound is outcome of whatever is happening on screen. As the sequence progresses the music also becomes faster in order to accompany the faster editing pattern where we see a perfect amalgamation of mechanical production of glasses with machines and human beings. For example: very brief shots of a man blowing are perfectly synced with the notes or chords on saxophone, it looks as if they are the one playing the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Body Shop Introduction There is success in body care. Behold the Body Shop, one of the famous international cosmetics brand. It is not just one s ordinary shop for body or hair care. It is extraordinary just as its pioneer. The entrepreneur assessed in this paper is in no way or another connected to me. Personal Profile The name behind the Body Shop, a famous cosmetic line for decades now, is Anita Roddick. On October 23, 1942 in Littlehampton, Sussex, England marks her birth to an immigrant Italian family. After completing her degree at the Newton Park College of education, she worked as a part time teacher and for the United Nations in Geneva. She traveled to different places like Tahiti, New Hebrides, New Caledonia, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She risked selling alternative body care products. Nevertheless, she dealt with it with optimism. In order to face success, it is of crucial importance to think of the ways by which the business model will thrive in the marketplace. Another is to assess the strengths and opportunities of the business. Lastly, it is always important to innovate, as this has always described entrepreneurs (Baghai, Coley, and White, 2000). Innovations are proven to increase the business performance. During Christmas last year, upon launching a new product, i.e. a strong Christmas gift range, and improving customer services, operating profits from the division boosted to 17% to ₤11.7 million (Geary, 2005). This is a recent event in the innovation strategies of Body Shop. Schumpeter (1939), as cited in Mintrom, Schneider and Teske (1995), asserts that an entrepreneur functions to innovate, which means devising new production function out of the existing factors of production. In simpler terms, an entrepreneur is one who introduces a new product or a product that deviates from the ordinary. Such is the basic idea or definition of an entrepreneur from which its modern definitions have developed. Apart from the above, there is something about the packaging of the Body Shop products. • 8. The Negative Impact Of Smart Phones Smart phones have been a big part of the world in the decade, especially iPhones. The first iPhone was released on June 29, 2007, with many more released since then ( History of Phone ). Along with changing how people communicate, the success and availability of the iPhone has impacted the world s economy in many ways. You can argue that here, in America, iPhones, have positively impacted our society and our economy. People have greater access to income because they conduct work in many different settings, all day long. However, people have begun to replace human contact with virtual contact via their iPhones. This is a negative impact on our lives. You can also argue that the iPhonehas had a negative impact on societies in many other countries in which iPhone components are manufactured. There, Apple employees work long hours away from their families, for minimal wages, in unsafe environments ( Globalization and Ideology ). They may never even have the means to purchase their own iPhone. While Apple contributes to the economies of many poor countries by manufacturing iPhone parts there, the company also steals from those countries by robbing those employees of time interacting with family and friends. According to The History of the iPhone (2014), the first iPhone was nicknamed Jesus phone because of its impressive capabilities. It had a maximum storage of sixteen gigabytes. Now an iPhone has storage available up to two hundred ninety six gigabytes. We can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is true as well, many people don t see the big parts in little people. Although people aren t seen for their great abilities at first; they will soon be noticed. • 12. The Software Development Field Of Computer Science Currently, I am pursuing a career in the software development field of computer science. In this field, I will mostly be creating programs and software to be installed or run on computers or other machines. Of course like any professional career, ethical issues can appear, but the issues found in the tech industry are not always found in the office area. Many of the issues developers face are outside of the office area and out in the field. The type of issues I am addressing is computercrimes, computer failures, protection and theft of software, and the corruption of privacy and company property. Developers face the challenge of protecting their programs from being misused and making sure that the programs are safe for users. Two cases that show these types of dilemmas are the Therac 25case and the infamous Target hack of 2013. The Therac 25 case will show what happens when a product and its software are not properly constructed, while the Target Hack case will show an example of the misuse of software that lead to millions of credit cards stolen. It is not uncommon for a company to want to shell out their newest and latest machine as quick as possible, but along with this comes the temptations to cut corners and possibly make mistakes. The Therac 25 case is a famous example of this. The Therac 25 was originally developed in 1976 by the Atomic Energy of Canada and CGR, a French Based Company (Nielsen, 2003). The Therac 25 was a multi million dollar radiation therapy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Analyzing How Big Data Analytics Is Used For Today s Data... troduction Every day, we produce 2.5 quintillion bytes of data. 90% of all data in the world was produced in the past two years. Data has been around forever; we have always gathered information. Paleolithic cavemen recorded their activities by carving them in stone or notching them in sticks. Egyptians used hieroglyphics to record significant events in history. The Library of Alexandria was home to half a million scrolls of the ancient world. Less than hundred years ago, we used punch cards to record and store information. As technology continues to evolve, the amount of data we store continues to grow. We ve come a long way since stone tablets, scrolls, and punch cards. It s important to understand the concept of big data and the impact is has created. This paper will define the classifications of data, explain the challenges of big data, and describe how big data analytics is being used in today s data driven world. Classifying Data Data can be classified into three distinct categories: structured, unstructured, and semi structured. It is important to understand these classifications and the challenges they present. Structured data follows a specific pattern of organization and is easy to access, manage, and store. Hurricanes are powerful storms that can cause intense winds and massive damaging floods. One of the most famous hurricane to hit Florida was Hurricane Andrew. Compact in size Hurricane Andrewdevastated southern Dade and Monroe counties. David Hickcox notes that Andrew s damage path was quite narrow; it appeared that a tornado had struck, rather than a hurricane (par 8). Andrew is one of two category five hurricanes to ever hit Florida with winds reaching 145 mph (Williams and Duedall 42). Hurricane Andrew impact was felt in many ways such as environmentally, economically, and socially in Florida. To begin with, Hurricane Andrew impacted Florida s environment by causing damage to many plants. Because Andrew path of destruction aligned with three National Parks this hurricane affected many different ecosystems including coral reefs, mangroves, and marshes lands (Harper 52). While many of these ecosystems did not get damaged severely, Gray E. Davis et al. reported that where the hurricane s eye left the west coast to move across the gulf, more than 85% of the mangrove trees had blown over ( par. 21). This massive damage to the mangroves ecosystem was due to the intense winds Andrew created. • 23. The Literary Aspects Of Science Fiction And Detective Fiction The literary genres of science fiction and detective fiction offer differing approaches when addressing a contextual fear of the unknown, as the former poses the question of what if? rather than answering these fears as the latter does. Exemplars of this include Ray Bradbury s A Sound of Thunder and Conan Doyle s The Adventures of the Dancing Men as their societal context necessitated a narrative to address the notion of foreign. These short stories employ various conventions as they both alleviate and build upon the public s fearthrough notions such as justice, help and control. Both science and detective fiction possess inherent conventions that allow them to contextually address society s fear of foreignness contrarily. Science fiction, as a genre, asks what if? , providing alternative possibilities of reality, a concept emphatically prevalent in time travel. The fantastic elements of time travel are considered in direct contrast to known reality (Burton 106) in order to address contextual fears by asking, rather than answering, the question of what if? . This ability to view and change the past and future thus encourages the genre to address contextual fears by providing alternatives to reality (NГ Fhlainn 180). Detective fiction takes the opposite approach however, as its inherent desire to solve consequently requires answering society s fears. This genre provides a process of question and answer in regards to addressing fears and ultimately engages in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The choreography of Swan lake The Kirov Ballet basically focuses on is the Revelations and Bacchanale. Revelation is the dance that I like the most, however, Baccanale is my least favorite dance. To me, the dance symbolizes the parson s socialization in western civilization concerning roles of gender. In the past era, there was a gesture that was separated from full embodiment and emotion, but with the passage of time, those gestures become more recognizable and meaningful. People move with the rhythm of the music, which is known as Dance. It is also known as art performance that contains organized and selected movements of the human body. There are several kinds of dance such as informal, professional performance, and ritual performance. The dance involves several moves of the body with the music in the specific space to express emotions, feelings of joy or an idea to get delighted by the body movements and also with the purpose to release energy. Revelations Revelations is my most favorite dance and it was first performed by the Alvin Ailey in American Dance Theatre and is known as three section dance. The reason why it fascinates me a lot is that each section of this dance focus and display distinct factors that the people (Africans Americans) affected since the era of slavery and it is still present to fight for their rights. The theme of this dance is a unity that is showcased in every piece that was controversial in America because of racial discrimination. Pilgrim of Sorrow is the first section of this dance that is opened with a group of dancers. The dancers are in harmony using their arms in alegato tempo to create angular shapes. Ignoring the importance of middleware, many companies have found that the large amounts of data they receive from the system becomes too much to manage, thus leading to problems with the integration of the system and overall performance of the company. With more companies becoming aware of the importance of middleware in their implementation, there is a need developing for a powerful middleware solution to handle all of the technical features of the system. The middleware should be able to handle both passive and active RFID sensors to ensure data can be gathered from all products. The full potential of the system will not be realized if only a limited number of sensors and readers can be detected. Although both contradictory impulses are strong, her criticism of Mrs. Ramsay gains intensity in the novel s end. • 34. The Chemical Compounds Of Synthetic Fertilizer Once soil is intoxicated, the chemical compounds in synthetic fertilizer create a harmful environment for microbial life and are later dispersed to surrounding areas through the process of hydrology. In naturally fertile soil, microbial life is diverse and abundant. In fact, as soil microbiologist David Zuber has stated in his Soil Microbiology FAQ article, there can be hundreds of millions to billions of microbes in a single gram (about the size of a navy bean in volume) of soil. These microbes range from bacteria, actinomycetes, fungi, cyanobacteria, protozoa, and microarthropods, all of which play very specialized roles in maintaining the integrity of soil. Innately, microbes ward off pathogens, provide root protection, and maintain oxygen and moisture levels. (Hermary). For example, microbes consume a naturally abundant and potent form of nitrogen (NH4+), along with other compounds, and excrete preferred forms of nitrogen (NO2 N and NO3 N). The rise of contraception in the United States was controversial and highly debated in court. But, once the movement got rolling, it was hard to stop. When a Gallop Poll in 1936 asked if United States citizens favor the birth control movement, 61 percent answered yes. This was a shocking discovery, because until that time contraception seemed like a taboo topic. Today, the manufacturing and selling of birth control is legal in all 50 states. Family planning services are now subsidized by federal and state governments and nonprofit and private organizations (Goldin and Katz, 2000). This nationwide movement enables women to choose when they start families. By allowing women to have the authority to utilize contraception, positive trends have been seen in economic advancement, education attainment and population trends. The Rise of Birth Control The first oral contraception, Envoid, was introduced in 1957. Although introduced, state laws prohibited physicians from prescribing the Pill and pharmacists from selling it. Fifty years ago, two major shifts in the access to birth control occurred. In 1965, the trial Griswold versus Connecticut ended restrictions on the sale of contraceptives. While UDP does not have an authentication build to it just takes the packets as they come if they are coming from a known sender that way no time is wasted. That is why both methods are needed because somethings do not require the authentication method while other need to go through it for security purposes. From the variety of utilitarian justifications of punishment, retribution is the most convincing as its theoretical goals are sustained through societies, whereas general and specific deterrence cannot be justified on their own, as they do not match with retribution. For retributionists, punishment is backward looking, justified by the crime that has been committed and carried out to atone for the damage already done. Retributivism covers all theories that justify punishment because the offender deserves it. This is interpreted in two ways, either a person must be punished because they deserve it (deserving is a sufficient reason for punishment), or a person must not be punished unless they deserve it (deserving is a necessary but not sufficient condition for punishment). There are two distinct types of retributive justice. The classical definition embraces the idea that the amount of punishment must be proportionate to the amount of harm caused by the offence. In today s classrooms, teachers are experiencing the culture and language related effects of that endeavor. With an increasing amount of non English speakers entering the country each year, the population of students who speak English as a second languageor no English at all increases as well. These students are taught and raised to love their traditional languages and cultures. To take these aspects away from them in order to make them understand our way of life is not fair nor is it educationally beneficial. Some say foreigners need to assimilate because they are entering our country and by trying to accommodate their tradition, schools will end up hurting American students educational progress. According to Christopher Hill the definition of a revolution is a complete over throw of the established government in any country or state by those who have been previously subjected to it . Another way to think about a revolution is as an uprising caused by a group of individuals towards another group due to unfair conditions or treatment. The Communism Manifesto, written by Karl Marx, was a document written for the general public that described communism and promoted the oppressed individuals to change societal social class. I will argue that the Communism Manifesto was a document that was meant to start a revolution. In society the oppressors, the bourgeoisie, had complete control over the government, working condition, as well as the lives of the oppressed middle and lower class, the proletariats. If the proletariats wanted to see a change in the inequality caused by the class system and regain power then it is the essential that the proletariats overthrow the existing power. According to the Manifesto the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggle, in other words class conflict has occurred throughout history, and will continue to occur. The Battle of Port Royal was the second battle of the Civil War. The Battle of Port Royal culminated an amphibious operation designed to establish a United States military depot on the southeastern coast to carry out land and sea operations against the Confederacy (Wise 2016). As you mentioned, any damage to amygdala can cause a variety of symptoms, but primarily, the individual will experience an impaired ability to practice and/or identify both fear and negative emotions. Individuals with traumatic brain injuries involving the amygdala react differently to various stimuli, mainly due the numerous factors involved in the way that the amygdala responds based on both the location and the level of brain damage sustained. In some, conditions like Kluver Bucy Syndrome can appear, where the individual has trouble understanding visual information such as mood or facial expressions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, in one study where the brain functioning of 41 murderers were evaluated, researchers found that the amygdala had weaker activity in the left hemisphere of their brain than they did on their right. In other words, poor functioning in some areas indicates an inability to learn from experience, as well as an emotional load that outweighs the ability of the left hemisphere to regulate it (Ramsland, K.M., 2005, p. 70). Damage to this area of the brain can obviously create behavioral manifestations as well, including anger, rage, and inability to react properly to the surrounding environment. Also, in other research noted by Berry Dee (2007), the limbic system can either reward or punish the brain and if areas of the limbic system are damaged, such as the amygdala itself, and these individuals can also exhibit indiscriminate sexual behaviors. I think the biggest piece of information I gained from this week topic is that a variety of responses can come from injury to the amygdala, and given its ability to disrupt recognition of certain emotional behaviors, there is certainly a concern that individuals can either be a danger to themselves (by not being able to detect danger or emotions of others in their environment) or by being a danger to others (as is the case with the findings associated with amygdala dysfunctions in serial ...
