What Ia An Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "What is an Essay" may initially seem like a straightforward task,
but as one delves deeper into the subject, the complexity becomes apparent. The challenge lies in
navigating the intricate nuances of defining a genre that is, by nature, diverse and adaptable. An
essay is not a fixed entity; rather, it is a fluid form of expression that can take various shapes and
serve diverse purposes.
To encapsulate the essence of an essay, one must explore its historical evolution, from the early
works of Montaigne to the contemporary manifestations in academic, literary, and journalistic
spheres. This exploration requires a keen understanding of the essay's structural elements –
the introduction, body, and conclusion – and an appreciation of the art of crafting a
compelling narrative or argument.
Moreover, the difficulty lies in avoiding the pitfall of oversimplification. While an essay is, at its
core, a written composition expressing the author's thoughts, the challenge is to articulate what
distinguishes it from other forms of writing, such as reports or articles. It demands a thoughtful
examination of the essay's role in conveying not just information but also personal insights,
opinions, and reflections.
Additionally, one must grapple with the ever-evolving landscape of digital communication,
where new forms of essays emerge in blogs, social media, and online platforms. The essayist
must confront the question of whether these contemporary variations adhere to traditional
definitions or represent a departure from established norms.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "What is an Essay" is not merely an exercise in
defining a term; it involves a nuanced exploration of the intricacies inherent in this dynamic
literary form. It requires a balance between acknowledging its historical roots and recognizing its
adaptability in the modern era. To truly capture the essence of an essay, one must navigate
through a rich tapestry of ideas, perspectives, and forms, making it a task that demands both
scholarly rigor and creative finesse.
And for those seeking assistance in exploring such topics or crafting their essays, a wealth of
resources is available. Similar essays and more can be ordered onHelpWriting.net, a platform

Why Do Aliens Invade
When aliens invade, it s predicted in the apocalypse that men s hearts shall fail
them for fear, and (Conspiracy theories), as a result, are to cover what is coming,
they plan to rob the world. The world has summoned back the gods (aliens), one
example of summoning is an outstretched tongue. Intentionally protruding the
tongue represents the union of masculine and feminine spirits. This action invokes
the demonic spirits of transgender and the she males. The tongue protruding gives
these demons permission to come into the world or church. Inconsequential this is
why we have transgender and the she males. When Aliens invade, they will have
broken no laws and will be free to take over our planet, even though it will be a
forcible act. We will not defeat them. Their planet is their spacecraft, and they make
up part of the spiritual realm, the invisible world around us is a world of the ancient
dead in at war with us. Thus, aliens are after your sons and your daughters and you,
they hate us all and blame all mankind for their woes with vengeance. They plotted
against my daughter and will plot against you, your sons and daughters.... Show more

Before I looked out my window and witnessed the spaceship, I was dealing with my
youngest daughter. All though she is an adult I m troubled for her whereabouts. For
this reason, when the spaceship manifested itself to me I knew there would be
implications, and no doubt suggesting my daughter is their target, the principle is,
she is under attack, a spiritual attack and the spacecraft let me know something is not

How Was The X-Ray Diffraction Spectrum Of All

3.1 Structural properties
Figure 1 showed the X ray diffraction spectrum of all sulfurized Co doped FeS2
films. The comparison with JCPDS 01 071 1680 indicated a pure cubic FeS2
structure for all these samples. The ratio between peaks from each sample
demonstrated a poly crystal structure. Also, no clear preferential growth direction
could be observed for each sample. The peaks of all Co doped films were very close
to the pure iron pyrite peaks. No clear peak shift could be observed. This indicated
that shallow cobalt doping had little impact on the crystal structure of FeS2.
Scherrer equation, as shown in equation 1, was applied to estimate the average
crystallite size of these sulfurized films. . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As more electrons were introduced, the net carrier concentration started to
decrease until the electrons became the majority carriers. This process may explain
the change of conduction type and carrier concentrations. The carrier mobility,
however, decreased gradually from 6.52 cm2/V*s to 4.30 cm2/V*s as cobalt
doping increased from 2 at% to 6 at%. This phenomenon could be explained as the
decreased mean free path of charged carriers because of the larger size of the
incorporated cobalt ions than the original iron ions. After switching to n type, the
increasing carrier concentration may also contributed to the reducing of carrier
mobility. As a consequence, cobalt doping served well as an n type dopant after 3
at% doping level.
3.2.2 Temperature Dependence
Figure 2 showed the relationship between the reciprocal of resistivity to the
reciprocal of temperature, graphed as a logarithmic plot. The resistance change of
the Co doped FeS2 samples with Al electrodes were collected from room
temperature (25oC) to 140oC. From Fig.2, the resistance of all samples decreased
while heating. This showed a general semiconductor behavior of these Co doped
FeS2 films. The data in Fig.2 showed a linear dependence for each sample. The
fitting lines could be described by Arrhenius equation as shown in equation 2: . (2)

Youth Participation In The 1960s Essay
In the mid 1960s, three main factors contributed to the increase in youth involvement
in politics at this time. The younger generation had a different mindset than the
generation before them. They believed in love, acceptance, and tolerance. Secondly,
teenagers wanted their opinions to be heard; they wanted change. Finally, the
younger generation knew their parents life was falling apart and they felt they were
doing nothing to fix it. Ultimately, teenagers had a different outlook on life at this
time and realized they had more to lose when it came to the future of America so they
wanted their thoughts to be acknowledged and taken seriously. The typical teenager
in the 1960s was more open minded and tolerant compared to their parents.... Show

In Somebody to Love, Grace Slick says, in a short space of time, we had learned
more than our parents wanted us to know about things they d been too timid to
investigate. She says, they kept saying, don t! and we kept asking, why not? The
young people challenged what their parents believed. They wanted to know more
and form their own opinions. They talked about the topics that made their parents
uncomfortable. Young adults at this time did not want to live in a world of hate
the way their parents did. They knew the intolerant ways of the past had to change.
In Maybe It s Time to Protest, it says, just because life has always been a certain
way doesn t mean it always has to continue that way. When the older generation was
younger and more open minded, they did not have the ability to communicate and
express themselves the way the younger generation has in the sixties. Teenagers
decided to form and voice their own political, social, and economic opinions because
they did not appreciate the way adults spoke for them and made decisions without
even asking them what they thought. They had to become more aware and
knowledgeable on their own because adults shielded them from the world. They were
only exposed to these issues through music and
Cultural Aspects Of Cultural Identity
Cultural identity varies from person to person and To me cultural identity basically
means what kind of person you are and the way you see others. it plays a big role in
life and there are lots of aspects such as religion, language, racial identity, values and
gender. Those aspects define your cultural identity.
One of the cultural aspects that I will talk about has impacted my life the most which
is my religion and that religion is christianity. When I was one month old my
parents took me to church for the first time so that I would get blessed by the

The, The Trunk Of The Tree Essay
This is where the main problem(s) the company is facing is stated, normally it is
one to three points that describes the issues. It is important as a standalone because
it is the main issue. Even if you gave the company you are studying this it would still
be valuable to them. It is the diagnoses. The statement of the problem is like the
trunk of the tree. It is the main steam of the case study; you have to understand what
this aspect is before the other four to five parts are completed. The rest branch off of
this. Which makes it the most important part of the whole outline while being the
shortest part.

This is the section where the SWOTs (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunity and
Threats) are done. This is done in order to understand the entities of the problem (it
is the what is _____ section). Standalone it is the description of the bases of the
issues, with this some things that are wrong could be fixed. Such as in
BigSpaceship, when the CEO did not know which category the company fell in.
The SWOT could have provided the information for him to realize this and perhaps
come up with at least one solution to his issues. When this part is compiled with
the other sections it serves as a description to the areas that need to be fixed or left
alone. Each section plays its own roll, this one is a description.

Have I changed throughout my course? Personally, for the duration of the health

additional skills and knowledge in which I can use for the future. My
presentational skills especially have improved as before when I had to present to
an audience I would become very nervous, however in various units presenting in
front of an audience was essential. From the encouragement from both the teachers
and my peers I am able to now confidently speak in front of a small audience and be
comfortable with my work and present it I have also used their feedback as a way
to improve myself. Have I developed personally and professionally? At the start of
the health and social care course I knew that I wanted a career working within the
health or social care sector. From working with local authorities (such as schools,
elderly care home) I have learned how to communicate effectively with different
service users. Professionally I have learned the importance of guidelines within a
health and social care sector. I know and understand the relevant that I am able to
promote later within my career with working with service users. Over the duration of

The Palace of Versailles, a great architecture feat that took 36,000 workers and 20
years to complete. A testament to Louis XIV power an ambition it shows the
height of French baroque principles. As such, it should be noted that Louis XIV did
establish the French classical baroque style that we see today. within the palace.
As you first reach the palace, you will see the grandeur and the grandiose scale of
the place. It is designed from outside to be shown as a place of higher superiority

The Striped Pajamas By Mark Herman
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (Mark Herman)
The Holocaust, being one of the most tragic events in history, has found itself
becoming an influence in popular cinema as a way to delve into the endless stories
of the experience. One movie, in particular, that presents the Holocaust in a more
empathetic light is The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, directed by Mark Herman. The
movie resonated well with the audience and has accumulated many nominations and
awards. How this was achieved was through a narrative of two young boys, a German
and a Jew, who come across each other in unknowingly disheartening circumstances
and develop a friendship that ultimately ends in tragedy. Presentation, context, and
accuracy were key factors that had brought this story to fame.
The director s intent was subtle. The movie was presented unbiasedly but it slowly
progressed to show the director s distaste for the treatment in Concentration Camps
and the Holocaust in general. By presenting both personal accounts of the children
and their families, the audience is brought to a more sympathetic level as a way to
better understand the emotion of the experience. A visual cue, however, that would
possibly indicate the director s intent would be the usage of color. Within scenes of
distaste towards the Germans were shown in darker tones. The dialogue was also a
bit more biased. For example, whenever the German child s parents would interact
with him, the parent s dialogue proved to be more distant or

Ap Music History
Evolution of the CD After a couple of failed attempts of making a device that
could be used for mass sharing of music in the late 1800s, an immigrant from
Germany had finally come up with an idea that would change everything.
Chichester Bell (Alexander Graham Bell s cousin) and Thomas Edison s idea to
record sounds on round cylinders was a good idea except for the sound quality and
general effort that was required to make and replicate sound. The Phonograph was
one of the earliest attempts at recording devices. Thomas A. Edison wanted to create
this device in order to assist with business interactions. He originally used foil to
record sounds, but this wasn t the best medium. You could only play sounds once and
the quality wasn t the greatest. This is when wax cylinders came into play. It was
eventually decided that the wax cylinder wasn t strong enough to record something
permanently. Next followed the graphophone. This invention by Bell fixed the replay
problem, but mass production of musicwould ve been impossible because of the
sheer amount of work involved in recording each cylinder separately (Bells).... Show

His gramophone didn t record on cylinders. This was the creation of the record.
The first records were made of blackened glass but after some trials Berliner
arrived at the idea of zinc. The disc would be covered in a mixture of cold gas and
beeswax before the grooves were etched into the surface. These zinc records were
eventually replaced with plastic. The earliest gramophone had to be cranked by
hand in order for it to work but the use of spring motors changed that. This model
was the best that could be made at this time and quickly changed the act of recording

Theme Of Contradictions In A Clockwork Orange
Contradiction/Duality as the ultimate reality in A clockwork orange.
In his novel A clockwork orange, Anthony Burgess explores contradiction/duality as a
ultimate reality. His understanding of this phrase reflects the world as a set of
fundamental and coequal oppositions of forces, and this is evident throughout the
novel (Sparknotes, 2015:1). In the following essay we will be exploring the concept
of contradictions/duality as portrayed in the novella by referring to the following
contradictions namely; good versus evil, commitment versus neutrality, free will
versus the Clockwork orange , man versus government, youth versus maturity and
intellect versus intuition.
Burgess expresses the idea that a man cannot be completely good or evil and ... Show

The novel revolves around what happens when a person s free will is taken away
(Novelguide, 2015:2). Alex asserts his free will by choosing a course of wickedness,
but he is subsequently robbed of his self determination by the governments
implementation of the Ludovico Technique upon him (Sparknotes, 2015:1). By
making Alex a ruthless and wicked criminal, Burgess argues that humanity must, at
any cost, insist that individuals be allowed to make their own moral choices, even if
that freedom results in depravity (Sparknotes, 2015:1). When the government
removes Alex s power to choose his own moral course of action, Alex becomes
nothing more than a thing, something like a machine, something as unnatural as a
clockwork orange (Novelguide, 2015:2). It is suggested that Burgess believes that an
evil Alex is a human Alex, and therefore he prefers the evil Alex to an Alex who has
been programmed to deny his own nature (Scaruso, 2015:1). The chaplain presents
the Christian concept of morality, and sums up Burgess s position very concisely,
when he explains to Alex that: When a man cannot choose, he ceases to be a man
(Burgess, 2013:169). F. Alexander echoes this sentiment from a different
philosophical viewpoint, however, when he tells Alex that the treatment has: Turned
him into something other a human being. He has no power of choice any longer.
You are committed to socially accepted acts, a little machine capable only of good
(Burgess, 2013:173). Burgess s novel ultimately supports the conception of morality
as a matter of choice and determination and argues that good behaviour is
meaningless if one does not actively choose goodness (Sparknotes,

How Did Leonardo Da Vinci Sketch Of The Vitruvian Man
Problem: The famous and old Leonardo Da Vinci sketch called, The Vitruvian Man
, is very well known and studied because of its ties to many of the renaissance time
periods ideas. It is a sketch showing the direct correlation of a human s height and
arm span to the length and width of a square that is congruent in area to a circle
made of the man s naval cavity to fingertip the measurement. It signified two things,
that humans could fit into any form they choose whether it be a savage or a god; or
that humans were the in the middle of the universe s chain of command. This symbol
has been representing the renaissance era since because of what it has been
interpreted to represented. Knowing that there are some human bodymeasurements
that are equivalent I ve decided to study one set which are the thumb and big toes
length. There also could be a reason for some of our body parts to be equivalent to
each other; it could possibly be a physical adaptation for humans to survive in the
wild. For example the heightof a human and the arm span could be equivelant to aid
our performance at certain tasks such as swimming, or gathering food from trees.
The relationship between our big toes and thumbs could aid some tasks or just our

in a poor village working as a blacksmith. Balian had first established recognition
for himself when he played his key role in the Christian victory that was very
important over the invasion that was led by Saladin at Montgisard in 1177. This

The Learning Styles For Adult Learners
As an adult learner, it is important to learn about some of the academic concepts in
learning styles to help with life situations possibly or to learn the best way to
handle other people. In this paper, there will be three academic concepts discussed
for adult learners that might be useful for everyday life. The first concept that will be
discussed is the Kolb learningstyle. There is diverging style, assimilating style, and
converging style in the Kolb learning style. This will be further discussed in details
later on in the paper. This learning style is useful for adults to learn their own way
of learning. The second academic concept that will be discussed is the Johari
Window. There are four windows in the Johari learning style that will be discussed
later. The four windows are Open/Free Area, Blind Area, Hidden Area, and the
Unknown Area. The Johari Window is important for a person to understand
themselves and others. This is also important for a person to figure out things they
might not know about themselves to help them become a person possibly. All this
will be further discussed later on in the paper. The last academic concept that will be
discussed is the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. These seven habits were
created by Stephen R. Convey. He states for a person to be highly effective they need
to be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First things First, Think Win Win,
Seek First to Understand Then to be Understood, Synergize, and the last one
Hip Arthroplasty
Hip arthroplasty is the replacement of the hip joint with a prosthesis, and is one of
the most common reconstructive operations (Huo et al 2008). Hip arthroplasty may
be performed when irreversible damage has occurred to the joint; this damage often
causes pain, dysfunction and reduced quality of life. The pre operative nursing
considerations begin with patient education. This should begin at the time the
decision is made to have the surgical procedure performed. It is important that the
patient understand the preoperative requirements, the surgical procedure,
postoperative care and the necessary home/activity modification. The patient should
be instructed in self preparation, including mental and emotion readiness and having a

The color, sensation, movement and pedal pulses of the operated leg should be
assessed regularly to observe for any circulatory or neurological impairment. Pain
assessments should be noted at regular intervals, since patients who have their pain
well controlled following surgery are able to mobilize more quickly and easily,
which helps reduce the risk of post operative complications such as deep vein
thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and respiratory infection. Prolonged and
inadequate post operative pain may result in higher mortality and morbidity rates,
increased length of hospital stay and greater healthcare expenses (Eid and Bucknall
2008). The nurse can work closely with the hospital physiotherapists on specific
exercises and to assess whether individuals require mobility aides. The patients
should be encouraged to participate in foot exercises such as rotation, flexion and
extension of the ankle to encourage venous return and to help prevent pooling of
blood in the calf muscles (Temple 2004). Since nurses spend more time with patients
than other allied health professionals, it is essential that the nursing staff are aware of
the nature and benefit of post operative exercises and are able to instruct and support
patients in performing these exercises frequently throughout the day. In conclusion,
hip arthroplasty is a common procedure that frequently results in increased levels of
independence
How Canada Can Make Its Own Decisions As A Nation
From the fall of 1939 to the fall of 1945, it was evident that the recent World War had
greatly affected various countries around the world, especially those who [struggled]
through it on an almost national level. One of these countries includes Canada, who
fought alongside the United Kingdom, United States, France and the Soviet Union in
a military alliance known as The Allies against Nazi Germanyand the Axis Powers.
At the time, it was a comparatively new and independent country, with a smaller
military force compared to others involved in the wars efforts. Their declaration of
war was approximately one week after the powers of Britain and France; on
September 10th, 1939. This was likely done to show that Canada can make its own
decisions as a nation, and that it was not as committed to Britain s declaration as
much as in World War I, which started just twenty five years prior. Despite the
country s military size, Canada still played a significant role in World War II. Due
to the nation s contributions of military, economic and social advances, the Allies
were able to win the war, and Canada was able to improve on its own as a country.
During the time of World War II, Canada contributed an extraordinary military effort
to the Allied forces in the battles overseas. One of the first forces sent lead a fight on
August 19th, 1942; in the Raid of Dieppe. Canadian troops made up the force of the

Attention Deficit Hyperactive-Disorder (ADHD)
Attention deficit hyperactive disorder is also known as ADHD. It is what makes
certain people distracted or just can t sit still. At least everyone has a little ADHD in
them, but others have some more than others. People become distracted do to their
intended focus, that stimulates distraction. Distraction comes from the stimuli in the
external environment that stimulates unrelated thoughts to the activity that someone
would be doing at that time. Stimuli is a thing or event that evokes a specific
functional reaction in an organ or tissue. When something distracting is put in front
of someone the stimuli in their head reacts and drives them off task, and start to focus
on the object distracting them. Which means areas of the brain which
The Benefits Of Football In Youth And High School Football
If my son is interested in football I wouldn t stop him and here s why. Football as a
sport benefits the economy, Teaches Youth discipline, And career opportunities.
Youth and High school football Isn t as dangerous as college football. It teaches
Children important life lessons, college career choices, and lucrative financial
opportunities. With this information in mind, The reasons why I would allow my
son to play football is because If he is passionate about something and Enjoys it,
then I would direct him towards that path while also prepare him to be responsible
for himself, It would hold his interest and make them understand to always give
their best effort if they desperately want something, And it would build his
character and make him mentally and physically prepared for the rest of life. I
would allow my son to play football because It is beneficial to my son s health, his
ability to stay mentally sharp and focused, as well as help keep the economy in
good health.. One reason why I would let my son play football is because it would
encourage him to pursue his dreams. Writer Felicity Luckey, was quoted to say,
Goals are attained not by strength, but by Perseverance from her book, Great Minds
Think Fit , The quote identifies the hardships that football players who complete their
goals are persistent. They pursued happiness and their dreams using their mind and
best effort that they could give. Provided explanation that even if you try your best in

It has often been asserted that differences in the two candidates television personae
accounted in part for Kennedy s election victory. Some, however, dispute the
significance of the televised 1960 debates, suggesting that while visual cues
undoubtedly have the potential to influence voter perceptions, the nature and extent
of the influence remain a matter of speculation (Pendell and Vancil P.54 1988).
Furthermore; Keyton (1989) points out that Debates involving candidates for the
1988 presidential nomination carry a similar message. Results of a study of
college students revealed the finding that the winner of the 1988 debate was
predicted by perceptions of the candidate who projected the strongest personal
image, the greatest credibility, the most logical arguments, and the strongest
emotional appeals. Furthermore, voter preferences expressed after a first debate
were strong predictors of eventual candidate choice. In some political campaigns,
even the lack of debates can have significance. George Bush s successful 1988
presidential campaign employed debate avoidance, a reliance upon emotional
appeals and ridicule, and a de emphasis of issues. Both of the major U.S. political
parties have used such strategies, considered to be departures from ethical behavior
(Kelly 1990). Men and women react differently to the media analysis that generally
follows political debates. A study conducted at the University of Florida during the
Social Networks And Its Effects On The Internet
Social networks permit one to discover and connect with people they know and
people they do not know. It has altered the way individuals communicate with one
another. Looking through social networks, such as Twitter and Facebook, can cause
a person to feel connected to a greater number of people within society. Social
networks have become a part of people s daily lifestyles. People do not think anything
of it due to numerous individuals having social networks, such as Facebook and
Twitter, that are checked and updated every day. Those who live their lives on these
and other networks do not recognize the fact that their communications with the
world is fading. Today, a position on the internet is more significant, and
communication blossoms... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Social network is stopping us from having face to face conversations. Because of
the autonomy afforded by the virtual world, individuals are free to create a fantasy
persona and can pretend to be someone else (Cosmato). It is difficult to reject, be
disrespectful, or avoid somebody in person. It is very simple and fast to delete
somebody as a friend or unfollow somebody to stop them from trying to build a
connection. Just one click and your issues are over. Sadly, this trait of the social
networks trick people out of the chance to learn how to solve issues in the world
exterior of the internet and it could weaken a person s social skills.
Teenagers are at greater risk of harm because they are supposed to be taught how to
communicate with others and learn how to create and sustain relationships. A report
from the National School Boards Association shows that of the children in these age
groups that use a social network, 41 percent spend their time posting messages. They
are not spending this time in face to face interactions with their peers or others
(Cosmato). Social networks have made people feel disconnected to the person on the
other end of the line than if they were communicating in person. The relationships
formed online are less strong than relationships that are formed in person through
conversation.
Facebook is harmful to society s social lives because we can just go to somebody s

India s The Partition Of India
The partition of India is one of the defining chapters in India s entire history.
Although many different reasons caused the partition, political factors were a key
player in bringing about this monumental change in India s borders. The pre
existing communal differences between Hindus and Muslims grew as a result of
the fears of both groups losing power and giving up control to the other. The
partition which was supposed to grant freedom and independence for all Indians
resulted in creating a deeper hatred and animosity which would cost countless lives
through riots, rape, and mass murder for decades to come. Gandhi said in actual
life, it is impossible to separate us into two nations. We are not two nations. Every
Moslem will have a Hindu name if he goes back far enough in his family history.
Every Moslem is merely a Hindu who has accepted Islam. That does not create
nationality. . . . We in Indiahave a common culture. In the North, Hindi and Urdu are
understood by both Hindus and Moslems. In Madras, Hindus and Moslems speak
Tamil, and in Bengal, they both speak Bengali and neither Hindi nor Urdu. When
communal riots take place, they are always provoked by incidents over cows and by
religious processions. That means that it is our superstitions that create the trouble
and not our separate nationalities. He tried to unite all Indians by showing them that
having different religions does not separate Indians and the only path to true
independence would be to come
Curley s Wife And Crooks Body
Lennie, being the man that he is, attracts Curley to a fight. Lennie keeps saying no,
but Curley won t listen, and he just keeps punching and punching. Finally, Lennie
decides to do something and breaks his hand. Talking to George now, he is
disappointed in himself. Since George was watching this whole thing, he knows that
Lennie didn t do anything wrong, but that doesn t occur to Lennie. He still wants
confirmation from George that he is still in the clear. From the question that Lennie
asks about the rabbits, it can be inferred that he is a nice guy. Everything he does is
so that he can one day tend the rabbits. He is truly trying to pursue his goal of that

Once George finds him first, he decides it would be best if Lennie died, and so he
shoots him in the back of the head where he will feel no pain. George and Lennie
being the best of friends, it is surprising George decides to kill his mate. In a way, it
makes sense. If the others were to catch Lennie first, then Curley would have most
likely tortured or killed Lennie in a very painful way. During all this, George
would have to watch without being able to do anything. Lennie made the mistake,
and he will have to pay for it no matter what. The best way to quickly end it is to
kill him painlessly when he is happy. This stops their goal of living together in a
small house. George will either have to complete that dream himself or choose
another companion. Either way, it is a loss for George and for Lennie. In a way,
this may be the best for George. Now he doesn t have to deal with a person who is
constantly messing up and is hard to deal with. This act of deciding to kill Lennie
is an epiphany. This is because, before this, George and Lennie were really close,
but after, George had to go through the process of deciding to kill Lennie. The
moment when George realizes that the best situation for his friend is for George to
kill him is harsh. George did the best for Lennie, and that is what

Essay On Monetaristist Theory Of Inflation
Differences of the Monetarist and Classical explanation of Inflation
Overview
Monetarist view relates to the work of Milton Friedman. The monetarist theory of
inflation asserts that the general price level would rise only due an increase in money
supply, but will not be proportionate. According to monetarists, money supply is the
dominant but not exclusive determinant of both prices and the output level in the
short run, but in the long run money supply only determines the level of prices. The
output level in the long run is not determined by money supply. Monetarists
emphasize so much on the role of money and therefore hold that money supply is
very crucial tool of monetary policies in stabilization of the economy as compared to
fiscal policies. Milton Friedman stated as follows inflation is always and everywhere
monetary phenomenon that will arise when money supply rises at a faster rate than
the growth of national output.
This phenomenon is explained in the simple quantity theory of money as follows
MV=PT
In this equation M, V, P and T are Money supply, velocity of circulation, Price Level
and transactions respectively.
Therefore our equation becomes MV=PY where Y Is the National Income.

However this is not always the case. To deal with these worries, Milton Friedman
argued that there should be necessary reforms to make sure that central banks are
autonomous and are able to maintain the financial liquidity of the system. However,
classical highly doubt the autonomy of central banks from political interference. The
central bankers are subjected to appointment by politicians and therefore may make
decisions that deviate from the autonomy principle of the central banking institutions.
Therefore their decisions may only serve the interests of the government and
politicians and not the interest of the larger
The Importance of Literary Devices in The Seven Ages of...
All the world s a stage the men and women merely players . This line is the
beginning of the The Seven Ages of Man and is a recurring question throughout the
poem. You may wonder how the world is stage, and through his use of similes,
metaphors, and imagery Shakespeare explains this elaborates on this question.
William Shakespeare s use of similes in the Seven Ages of Man helps to start the
poem and give it a meaning early on by adding emphasis on certain topics. For
example in the beginning he uses the men and women merely players (Line 2) to
explain that people don t own the world but live in it. By using this simile he explains
how people progress through life like a play, making an entrance to the stage and
leaving afterwards. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore Shakespeare compares The Last Age to childishness and oblivion
meaning that after you have gone through all the stages everything you have built
up demolishes and you start back at the first stage. The last line of the poem helps
you to determine how the play ends and because this comparison is made it makes
you aware of people in your life that have gone through a few of the stages
described by Shakespeare. Giving you the idea that the stages may occur in your
life but in the end it really doesn t matter what you have done, because it will most
likely be destroyed. The idea that what you have developed will be demolished
makes you wonder what you are doing and have done with your life.
Imagery is prominent in The Seven Ages of Man and is used to give meaning to a
line or phrase meaning while creating complex images. When Shakespeare
describes the boy as a creeping snail and sighing like a furnace you can image a
drowsy boy who is on his way to school, but when described as having a shining
morning face it gives you a completely different idea. By placing two differential
images close together Shakespeare creates two separate moods in a few lines,
which helps to determine the difference between two phases. Later on in the poem
he uses the same strategy and says the man is bearded like a pard , portraying the
image of a slightly older man who has moved on from the childish phase of the
young schoolboy. He also says he
The Book Of Nehemiah In The Bible
In the Bible, the book of Nehemiah reveals the not so common traits of a man
named Nehemiah. Through God, Nehemiah restored the hope of the Israelites and
rebuilt the wall of Jerusalem. Because of Nehemiah s open heart and strong faith in
the Lord, he was used in miraculous ways. The story of Nehemiah starts out with a
cup and a king. The Jew Nehemiah was appointed cupbearer of the King
Artaxerxes, and as Nehemiah was a man of strong faith and character, he found
favor in the king s eyes. Since the king trusted Nehemiah so much, he noticed his
cupbearer s unusual sadness one day. He asked what troubled him, and Nehemiah
explained that his people (the Jews), who had been returned to Jerusalem after
seventy years of captivity, had not yet rebuilt their walls which meant they were not
safe from enemies. Although Nehemiah had not been to the city yet, he was saddened
because of the city s culture and history with God. пїј!1... Show more content on

Before answering, Nehemiah said a prayer to God, and then asked for the king s
permission to go to Jerusalem and rebuild the walls of his ancestors. The king
agreed, and Nehemiah gave one more request: to have letters from the king to give
to the governors of Trans Euphrates in order to have safe conduct until he arrived in
Judah; a letter to the keeper of the royal park to receive timber for the beams of the
gates, the city wall, and the place that he will stay. The king agreed to this, and also
sent army officers and cavalry with Nehemiah. God answered Nehemiah s prayers
and provided him with diligence to ask for these things and gave him favor with the

J. C. Penny Organizational Culture
The culture at J. C. Penny before Johnson can be described as inclusive and
employee centered. The organizational culture can perhaps be described as a
hierarch culture. A hierarchy culture has an internal focus and produces more
formalized and structured work environment (Kreitner, p. 70). The founder, James
Cash Penny, managed his stores under the philosophy of providing the best
customer service at the best price. He truly believed in giving his customers the best
deal possible. The company continued to thrive under this basic tenant, but started to
lose its market share and overall appeal in the early 2000s as the internet and small
specialty stores like H M and the GAP started to attract more of their customers.

would require careful and thoughtful planning. Edgar Schein, former professor at MIT
Sloan School of Management and Organizational Behavior scholar notes that
changing organizational culture involves a teaching process (Kreitner, p. 74). This
process is beneficial for both the existing employees and new leadership. One of the
processes that I would have recommended to Johnson at the beginning of his term
with J.C. Penny would be the organizational activities, processes or outcomes that
leaders pay attention to, measure, and control. The behavior of Johnson and his new
management team suggested that they rejected learning about the existing culture at
J.C. Penny and how and why things are done the way they were. To meet the
objectives of the board of directors, the immediate focus was to focus on what he
thought the customer wanted...a method that was proven to be successful at Apple,
but failed at J.C. Penny. Had he spent time getting to know his employees and
explained his vision for J.C. Penny, he would have received valuable information on
not just the how, but what why things are done in the manner they are done. Why it
was important to keep the coupons that customers loved to use. Johnson knew the
history of James Cash Penny and thought that his Fair and Square pricing strategy
was all that was needed to transform the company. But he failed to truly understand
Mr. Penny s philosophy the Golden Rule where you find good employees, train
them well, as well as sell quality goods at a fair price (J.C. Penney Company, Inc.

Similarities Between Itunes And Itunes
In early 1800 s, Thomas Alva Edison invented a method of recording and playing
back sound with a simple apparatus. Thus began the evolution of music industry.
From gramophones to tapes to compact discs, music industry has undergone drastic
transformations with improvised technologies and innovations.
Fifteen years ago (June 1,1999), the style of listening and sharing music has been
completely revolutionized by two teenagers, Shawn Fanning and Sean Parker. They
created an online platform for swapping music and named it NAPSTER. Thus began
the era of online music. Though Napster was initially a great success, their service
was considered to be illegal and legal battles eventually ruined Napster. However,
online music industry continued to stay in light with companies like apple providing
legal ways to purchase and download music online.
In this paper, I wish to analyze and compare two major online music stores iTunes and
Amazon MP3. These online stores have totally transformed the way music is sold

SWOT ANALYSIS
Introduction:
SWOT Analysis is a useful technique for a company to understand its Strengths and
Weaknesses, and for identifying both the Opportunities available to the company and
the Threats it faces. The reason SWOT is particularly powerful is that, with a little
thought, it can uncover opportunities that can be easily exploited and by
understanding the weaknesses one can eliminate threats to the firm. More than this,
by looking at the competitors of the firms using the SWOT framework, one can start
devising strategies that could help the firm distinguish themselves and successfully
compete in the market.

What Were The Goals Of The Civil Rights Movement
The Civil Rights Movement was an African American revolution, that started
because African Americans were being judged by the color of their skin. Africans
Americans felt as though they were second class citizens. They were segregated
within the school system, businesses, assaulted daily by white citizens with fists or
attack by police dogs, and denied equal rights. African Americans felt that things had
to change and that they deserve all rights as an American. The religious beliefs that
was foundation of the Civil Rights Movement differ. Martin Luther King, Jr s.
religion was Christianity, and felt that all Americans should be integrated and get
along despite the brutality of some white supremacists. But Malcolm X s religion
was Muslim and more militant. His belief in Black Nationalism was that white
America wanted to keep African Americans from empowering themselves by
political, economic and social success and that violence could be use if needed. Black
Nationalism also wanted to promote separatism from white America. For example,
Martin Luther King, Jr. preached using nonviolence and integration; on the other

many victories; such as the Brown v. Board of Education (1954), desegregation of
businesses in the South, Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Voting Rights Act of 1964.
Other the other hand, other African Americans believed that without the threat of
violence lingering in the background, nothing would have been achieved. These

Life can change in an instant; one moment you are a free bird flying high and in the
next you live in a cage surrounded by darkness. Some people say that freedom is one
of the biggest lib erties of man, but what happens when all that is taken away. The
importance of freedom and how quickly things can change are the central themes in
the short storySorry for your Loss written by Bridget Keehan in 2008, where the
author paints a picture of a life without free dom.
A third person narrator tells the story, the point of view being the chaplainEvie. The
fact that Evie is the one, who tells the story, has a significant effect, because it is
through her eyes that we experience everything. Therefore her thoughts and feelings
affect the opinion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In life you generally don t get a lot of second chances and some mistakes can be
irreversi ble. What would happen if you like Victor in the story lost you freedom
completely? And how do handle working in an environment, where the closest thing
to freedom a window that shows the parking lot? It is not easy, and sometimes not
even praying is enough to make it all better. So even though you might wish
everyone were as innocent as they seemed, you need to face the reality that life is
not a wish granting factory, and people have to suffer the conse quences for their
action even though it might only be the sin that is evil and not the
Raskolnikov Suffering
One theme of Christianity is that redemption is achieved through suffering. Jesus
himself believed in the method and even told Saint Faustina that she could save more
souls through prayer and suffering than will a missionary through his teachings and
sermons alone (Diary 1767). Evidently, the idea of redemptive sufferingworked its
way strongly into his novel Crime and Punishment. The protagonist, Rodion
Romanovich Raskolnikov, was an impoverished former student who lived in St.
Petersburg. Raskolnikov believed that he could make the world a better place by
murdering a crooked pawnbroker and taking her money to help the needy;
Raskolnikov ends up murdering the pawnbroker as well as her innocent sister.
Through Raskolnikov and Katerina s journey to redemption Dostoevsky is able to
convey that redemption is possible but only through a great amount of suffering.

Katerina, a woman who ends up enduring extreme amounts of suffering, had
originally come from and grew up in a high class family falls from grace due to her
husband, who ends up dying, an alcoholic, spending all the money the family had
on his addiction. This left Katerina and her family in a situation of extreme poverty
and caused her to live a life of beggary. The poverty was so great that her daughter
becomes a prostitute to provide income for the family a mother s worst nightmare.
On top of that, Katerina suffered from a horrible case of Tuberculosis. When
Katerina finally reaches the point of her death, she refuses any help from doctors
or priests. The reason Katerina refuses help is because she knows that it is time for
her redemption and that death is the only way she will achieve it. By doing this,
Katerina becomes a foil for Raskolnikov. She shows him that God will accept her
the way she is and shows that redemption is possible, even for

Domestic Violence in America Essay examples
Each day, the statistics on domestic violence get more and more horrifying. A
woman is beaten every 15 seconds, 22 to 35 percent of emergency room visits
from women are because of ongoing partner abuse, 1 in 4 pregnant women have a
history of partner violence, and 63 percent of young men between the ages of 11 and
20 are in jail for murdering their mothers abuser. Also domesticviolence is the leading
cause of injuries to women between 15 and 44.
All these statistics prove that domestic violence is a big problem in our country.

The spouse will use verbal abuse, hit objects, throw objects, break objects, and
making threats. When these actions start, in almost 100 percent of the cases, the
significant other resorts to battering. After the woman gets sick of the battering and
decides to leave he will almost definitely try to get her back.
There are five different ways he will try to get the woman back. One way is for him
to bribe the woman into coming back, this is known as the honeymoon syndrome.
The superdad syndrome is used when kids are involved and he has neglected them
in the past. He will tell her that he will be a great dad if she returns.
Another is known as the revival syndrome he will say that he has been to church
every Sunday since the woman left and say that he has accepted god into his life.
Next is the sobriety syndrome, the woman will think if he stops drinking he will stop
beating me. The last is counseling syndrome, he will say he has been to counseling
and will not beat her anymore when about one percent actually go to counseling.
What all this means is that we have a big problem on our hands that needs to be

A Strange Young Man Called Dylan
Maizie Ober
Mrs. Burke
0021: Period 1
20 March 2015
A Strange Young Man Called Dylan At only 22, he was crowned the voice of a
generation. His audiences became mesmerized with his expressive lyrics and soulful
harmonica. He changed the way the world looks at songwriting and protest, and
inspired countless future musicians from the moment he stepped up on the stage in
his railroad hat, denim jacket, and harmonica brace. However, it is clear that there is
so much more behind Bob Dylan than just a rough voice and a collection of poetic
songs. As one man said about Dylan s early days in Greenwich Village, There s a
quality of determination and of will that some people have that when they re doing
something, they re really doing it and you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After all, Dylan s hometown of Hibbing, Minnesota, was as meat and potatoes as it
could get. It wasn t possible to be a rebel in Hibbing because there was nothing to
rebel against. No one had any strong beliefs or ideology; they were a working class
people that did not really listen to music. No one liked country, R B or rock n roll
they barely knew what it was (No Direction Home). Dylan, on the other hand, was
interested in music, and fiddled around on an electric guitar for a bit until he
discovered folk music: The first thing that turned me on to folksinging was Odetta.
I heard a record of hers in a record store...Right then and there, I traded my electric
guitar and amplifier for an acoustical guitar...[Her first album] was just something
vital and personal (McCombe). Without Odetta, folk music would have never
entered Dylan s life, and when it did, he was moved by it. It caused him to imitate
Odetta s rough, natural sound and unplug his electric guitar. Folk music was like
nothing he had ever heard of before. It told the story of hard working people just
trying to get by. It wasn t flashy or famous; instead, it was stories and songs that had
been passed down from generation to generation of Americans. Odetta was just the
person to introduce him to such a genre: Bobby had become an apostle of a woman
named Odetta, a husky voiced black folksinger whose blend of

Stanley Milgram s The Perils Of Obedience
Obedience is a basic behavior that practically everyone has. Unfortunately, some
authority is essential for community living. In a way, obedience is a form of
submission as old as time itself. Society appears threatened by disobedience and
hesitation. In the experiments described in The Perils of Obedience , ethics and
hesitation get in the way of obedience. Unfortunately, this type of behavior displays
disobedience in the eyes of society. Stanley Milgram experimented, how much pain
an ordinary person would inflict on another person simply because he was ordered to
by an experimental scientist (62). The experiments have a wide variety of people
playing the teacher and the learner. As a beginning prediction, Milgram and others
thought... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The experiments have a teacher, learner, and an experimenter. The learner is
positioned in a kind of small electric chair, and is strapped there. The teacher reads
off some word pairings to the learner, and if the learner is wrong, a shock is
administered. For each wrong answer, the shocks build, and become stronger. What
the teacher does not realize is that the learner is just an actor, making the teacher
appear naive. Even though the experimenter takes full responsibility of what happens
to the learner, the teacher feels horrible about their actions. The experiment causes
discomfort for both the teacher and the learner. As the shocks grow stronger, tension
begins to arise inside of the teacher. Hesitating slowly consumes the teacher, but the
experimenter commands him to pursue. After hesitation, the teacher s ethics get in
the way of what they are told to do. Even though the experimenter takes full
responsibility, the teacher still feels they have some responsibility for their actions. It
gets to the point where the disobedience starts to kick in. The teacher slowly starts to
say no to the experimenter out of pity for the learner. The experimenter tries his best
to make the teachers proceed with the experiment. Unfortunately, the vast majority
would go against their own conscience to please the experimenter. Even though the
majority know it was wrong and some even protested, but they are proud that they
did a decent job, and they pleased the
Current Observable Rise In Sea Level
The current observable rise in sea level provides the world with a clear example of
the harmful effects of excess greenhouse gas emissions. Instances in Norfolk,
Virginia and southern Florida clearly represent the dangers that unregulated carbon
dioxide emission can pose to the environment, and its dangerous impact on human
life. For example, Norfolk is the home to the the largest naval station in the world
and functions as one of the most critical bases for the United States Navy. However,
rising sea levels caused by carbon dioxideemissions threaten the future of the base
and the need to move the base or adapt it to the new seascape would be a
cumbersome burden on American taxpayers. As a result, humans are tasked with

The Effects Of Video Games On Children
Modern technology is a worldwide sensation that is captivating more and more
people each day. With the accessibility to media applications, there are so many
opportunities to learn and reach out to people from all over the world. With media
outlets streaming on your mobile phone in a coffee shop or ringing up an order on a
tablet, it seems like nothing is truly impossible. One of the biggest media applications
of technology are video games. While this is a phenomenal humankind progression,
this is also transforming the perception of normality to children. While limiting the
recommended amount of time a child is attached to a video game, one can begin to
understand how this form can further develop our children. From confidence
building to creativity, video games can be brought on as educational as well as just
for fun and relaxation. Not too long ago while I was scrolling through my face
book page, I stumbled upon a video which was a commercial by the company
Nature Valley. In this video, there are a few parents, their children, and grandparents,
being asked the question, When you were a kid, what did you do for fun? (Narrator,
Nature Valley 3 Generations #Rediscover Nature) . The parents and grandparents
proceeded to answer with outdoor activities: fishing, gardening, and playing games
outside and inside with other neighborhood children. As they reminisced, their faces
seemed to light up; their smiles widened and even body movement was expressed in
their delightful

What Ia An Essay. What is an Essay? Definition, Types and Writing Tips by HandMadeWriting

  • 1. What Ia An Essay Writing an essay on the topic "What is an Essay" may initially seem like a straightforward task, but as one delves deeper into the subject, the complexity becomes apparent. The challenge lies in navigating the intricate nuances of defining a genre that is, by nature, diverse and adaptable. An essay is not a fixed entity; rather, it is a fluid form of expression that can take various shapes and serve diverse purposes. To encapsulate the essence of an essay, one must explore its historical evolution, from the early works of Montaigne to the contemporary manifestations in academic, literary, and journalistic spheres. This exploration requires a keen understanding of the essay's structural elements – the introduction, body, and conclusion – and an appreciation of the art of crafting a compelling narrative or argument. Moreover, the difficulty lies in avoiding the pitfall of oversimplification. While an essay is, at its core, a written composition expressing the author's thoughts, the challenge is to articulate what distinguishes it from other forms of writing, such as reports or articles. It demands a thoughtful examination of the essay's role in conveying not just information but also personal insights, opinions, and reflections. Additionally, one must grapple with the ever-evolving landscape of digital communication, where new forms of essays emerge in blogs, social media, and online platforms. The essayist must confront the question of whether these contemporary variations adhere to traditional definitions or represent a departure from established norms. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "What is an Essay" is not merely an exercise in defining a term; it involves a nuanced exploration of the intricacies inherent in this dynamic literary form. It requires a balance between acknowledging its historical roots and recognizing its adaptability in the modern era. To truly capture the essence of an essay, one must navigate through a rich tapestry of ideas, perspectives, and forms, making it a task that demands both scholarly rigor and creative finesse. And for those seeking assistance in exploring such topics or crafting their essays, a wealth of resources is available. Similar essays and more can be ordered onHelpWriting.net, a platform dedicated to supporting individuals in their academic and creative writing endeavors. What Ia An Essay What Ia An Essay
  • 2. Why Do Aliens Invade When aliens invade, it s predicted in the apocalypse that men s hearts shall fail them for fear, and (Conspiracy theories), as a result, are to cover what is coming, they plan to rob the world. The world has summoned back the gods (aliens), one example of summoning is an outstretched tongue. Intentionally protruding the tongue represents the union of masculine and feminine spirits. This action invokes the demonic spirits of transgender and the she males. The tongue protruding gives these demons permission to come into the world or church. Inconsequential this is why we have transgender and the she males. When Aliens invade, they will have broken no laws and will be free to take over our planet, even though it will be a forcible act. We will not defeat them. Their planet is their spacecraft, and they make up part of the spiritual realm, the invisible world around us is a world of the ancient dead in at war with us. Thus, aliens are after your sons and your daughters and you, they hate us all and blame all mankind for their woes with vengeance. They plotted against my daughter and will plot against you, your sons and daughters.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before I looked out my window and witnessed the spaceship, I was dealing with my youngest daughter. All though she is an adult I m troubled for her whereabouts. For this reason, when the spaceship manifested itself to me I knew there would be implications, and no doubt suggesting my daughter is their target, the principle is, she is under attack, a spiritual attack and the spacecraft let me know something is not right with my
  • 3. How Was The X-Ray Diffraction Spectrum Of All Sulfurized... 3.1 Structural properties Figure 1 showed the X ray diffraction spectrum of all sulfurized Co doped FeS2 films. The comparison with JCPDS 01 071 1680 indicated a pure cubic FeS2 structure for all these samples. The ratio between peaks from each sample demonstrated a poly crystal structure. Also, no clear preferential growth direction could be observed for each sample. The peaks of all Co doped films were very close to the pure iron pyrite peaks. No clear peak shift could be observed. This indicated that shallow cobalt doping had little impact on the crystal structure of FeS2. Scherrer equation, as shown in equation 1, was applied to estimate the average crystallite size of these sulfurized films. . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As more electrons were introduced, the net carrier concentration started to decrease until the electrons became the majority carriers. This process may explain the change of conduction type and carrier concentrations. The carrier mobility, however, decreased gradually from 6.52 cm2/V*s to 4.30 cm2/V*s as cobalt doping increased from 2 at% to 6 at%. This phenomenon could be explained as the decreased mean free path of charged carriers because of the larger size of the incorporated cobalt ions than the original iron ions. After switching to n type, the increasing carrier concentration may also contributed to the reducing of carrier mobility. As a consequence, cobalt doping served well as an n type dopant after 3 at% doping level. 3.2.2 Temperature Dependence Figure 2 showed the relationship between the reciprocal of resistivity to the reciprocal of temperature, graphed as a logarithmic plot. The resistance change of the Co doped FeS2 samples with Al electrodes were collected from room temperature (25oC) to 140oC. From Fig.2, the resistance of all samples decreased while heating. This showed a general semiconductor behavior of these Co doped FeS2 films. The data in Fig.2 showed a linear dependence for each sample. The fitting lines could be described by Arrhenius equation as shown in equation 2: . (2) Here Пѓ, k, T means conductivity, Boltzmann constant and temperature,
  • 4. Youth Participation In The 1960s Essay In the mid 1960s, three main factors contributed to the increase in youth involvement in politics at this time. The younger generation had a different mindset than the generation before them. They believed in love, acceptance, and tolerance. Secondly, teenagers wanted their opinions to be heard; they wanted change. Finally, the younger generation knew their parents life was falling apart and they felt they were doing nothing to fix it. Ultimately, teenagers had a different outlook on life at this time and realized they had more to lose when it came to the future of America so they wanted their thoughts to be acknowledged and taken seriously. The typical teenager in the 1960s was more open minded and tolerant compared to their parents.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Somebody to Love, Grace Slick says, in a short space of time, we had learned more than our parents wanted us to know about things they d been too timid to investigate. She says, they kept saying, don t! and we kept asking, why not? The young people challenged what their parents believed. They wanted to know more and form their own opinions. They talked about the topics that made their parents uncomfortable. Young adults at this time did not want to live in a world of hate the way their parents did. They knew the intolerant ways of the past had to change. In Maybe It s Time to Protest, it says, just because life has always been a certain way doesn t mean it always has to continue that way. When the older generation was younger and more open minded, they did not have the ability to communicate and express themselves the way the younger generation has in the sixties. Teenagers decided to form and voice their own political, social, and economic opinions because they did not appreciate the way adults spoke for them and made decisions without even asking them what they thought. They had to become more aware and knowledgeable on their own because adults shielded them from the world. They were only exposed to these issues through music and

Cultural Aspects Of Cultural Identity Cultural identity varies from person to person and To me cultural identity basically means what kind of person you are and the way you see others. it plays a big role in life and there are lots of aspects such as religion, language, racial identity, values and gender. Those aspects define your cultural identity. One of the cultural aspects that I will talk about has impacted my life the most which is my religion and that religion is christianity. When I was one month old my parents took me to church for the first time so that I would get blessed by the pastor ever since I have been to church every Sunday where I would learn about the Lord, good vs bad and sing with the church and lots more and The way I act and think is because of what ... • 6. The, The Trunk Of The Tree Essay This is where the main problem(s) the company is facing is stated, normally it is one to three points that describes the issues. It is important as a standalone because it is the main issue. Even if you gave the company you are studying this it would still be valuable to them. It is the diagnoses. The statement of the problem is like the trunk of the tree. It is the main steam of the case study; you have to understand what this aspect is before the other four to five parts are completed. The rest branch off of this. Which makes it the most important part of the whole outline while being the shortest part. 2.Situation Analysis: This is the section where the SWOTs (Strengths, Weakness, Opportunity and Threats) are done. This is done in order to understand the entities of the problem (it is the what is _____ section). Standalone it is the description of the bases of the issues, with this some things that are wrong could be fixed. Such as in BigSpaceship, when the CEO did not know which category the company fell in. The SWOT could have provided the information for him to realize this and perhaps come up with at least one solution to his issues. When this part is compiled with the other sections it serves as a description to the areas that need to be fixed or left alone. Each section plays its own roll, this one is a description. 3.Strategic Analysis: Strategic Analysis is the trouble shooting sections. My presentational skills especially have improved as before when I had to present to an audience I would become very nervous, however in various units presenting in front of an audience was essential. From the encouragement from both the teachers and my peers I am able to now confidently speak in front of a small audience and be comfortable with my work and present it I have also used their feedback as a way to improve myself. Have I developed personally and professionally? At the start of the health and social care course I knew that I wanted a career working within the health or social care sector. From working with local authorities (such as schools, elderly care home) I have learned how to communicate effectively with different service users. Professionally I have learned the importance of guidelines within a health and social care sector. I know and understand the relevant that I am able to promote later within my career with working with service users. Over the duration of the health and social care

  • 9. The Striped Pajamas By Mark Herman The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (Mark Herman) The Holocaust, being one of the most tragic events in history, has found itself becoming an influence in popular cinema as a way to delve into the endless stories of the experience. One movie, in particular, that presents the Holocaust in a more empathetic light is The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, directed by Mark Herman. The movie resonated well with the audience and has accumulated many nominations and awards. How this was achieved was through a narrative of two young boys, a German and a Jew, who come across each other in unknowingly disheartening circumstances and develop a friendship that ultimately ends in tragedy. Presentation, context, and accuracy were key factors that had brought this story to fame. The director s intent was subtle. The movie was presented unbiasedly but it slowly progressed to show the director s distaste for the treatment in Concentration Camps and the Holocaust in general. By presenting both personal accounts of the children and their families, the audience is brought to a more sympathetic level as a way to better understand the emotion of the experience. A visual cue, however, that would possibly indicate the director s intent would be the usage of color. Within scenes of distaste towards the Germans were shown in darker tones. The dialogue was also a bit more biased. For example, whenever the German child s parents would interact with him, the parent s dialogue proved to be more distant or

  • 11. Ap Music History Evolution of the CD After a couple of failed attempts of making a device that could be used for mass sharing of music in the late 1800s, an immigrant from Germany had finally come up with an idea that would change everything. Chichester Bell (Alexander Graham Bell s cousin) and Thomas Edison s idea to record sounds on round cylinders was a good idea except for the sound quality and general effort that was required to make and replicate sound. The Phonograph was one of the earliest attempts at recording devices. Thomas A. Edison wanted to create this device in order to assist with business interactions. He originally used foil to record sounds, but this wasn t the best medium. You could only play sounds once and the quality wasn t the greatest. This is when wax cylinders came into play. It was eventually decided that the wax cylinder wasn t strong enough to record something permanently. Next followed the graphophone. This invention by Bell fixed the replay problem, but mass production of musicwould ve been impossible because of the sheer amount of work involved in recording each cylinder separately (Bells).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His gramophone didn t record on cylinders. This was the creation of the record. The first records were made of blackened glass but after some trials Berliner arrived at the idea of zinc. The disc would be covered in a mixture of cold gas and beeswax before the grooves were etched into the surface. These zinc records were eventually replaced with plastic. The earliest gramophone had to be cranked by hand in order for it to work but the use of spring motors changed that. This model was the best that could be made at this time and quickly changed the act of recording music

  • 13. Theme Of Contradictions In A Clockwork Orange Contradiction/Duality as the ultimate reality in A clockwork orange. In his novel A clockwork orange, Anthony Burgess explores contradiction/duality as a ultimate reality. His understanding of this phrase reflects the world as a set of fundamental and coequal oppositions of forces, and this is evident throughout the novel (Sparknotes, 2015:1). In the following essay we will be exploring the concept of contradictions/duality as portrayed in the novella by referring to the following contradictions namely; good versus evil, commitment versus neutrality, free will versus the Clockwork orange , man versus government, youth versus maturity and intellect versus intuition. Burgess expresses the idea that a man cannot be completely good or evil and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The novel revolves around what happens when a person s free will is taken away (Novelguide, 2015:2). Alex asserts his free will by choosing a course of wickedness, but he is subsequently robbed of his self determination by the governments implementation of the Ludovico Technique upon him (Sparknotes, 2015:1). By making Alex a ruthless and wicked criminal, Burgess argues that humanity must, at any cost, insist that individuals be allowed to make their own moral choices, even if that freedom results in depravity (Sparknotes, 2015:1). When the government removes Alex s power to choose his own moral course of action, Alex becomes nothing more than a thing, something like a machine, something as unnatural as a clockwork orange (Novelguide, 2015:2). It is suggested that Burgess believes that an evil Alex is a human Alex, and therefore he prefers the evil Alex to an Alex who has been programmed to deny his own nature (Scaruso, 2015:1). The chaplain presents the Christian concept of morality, and sums up Burgess s position very concisely, when he explains to Alex that: When a man cannot choose, he ceases to be a man (Burgess, 2013:169). How Did Leonardo Da Vinci Sketch Of The Vitruvian Man Problem: The famous and old Leonardo Da Vinci sketch called, The Vitruvian Man , is very well known and studied because of its ties to many of the renaissance time periods ideas. It is a sketch showing the direct correlation of a human s height and arm span to the length and width of a square that is congruent in area to a circle made of the man s naval cavity to fingertip the measurement. It signified two things, that humans could fit into any form they choose whether it be a savage or a god; or that humans were the in the middle of the universe s chain of command. Knowing that there are some human bodymeasurements that are equivalent I ve decided to study one set which are the thumb and big toes length. There also could be a reason for some of our body parts to be equivalent to each other; it could possibly be a physical adaptation for humans to survive in the wild. Pain assessments should be noted at regular intervals, since patients who have their pain well controlled following surgery are able to mobilize more quickly and easily, which helps reduce the risk of post operative complications such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and respiratory infection. Prolonged and inadequate post operative pain may result in higher mortality and morbidity rates, increased length of hospital stay and greater healthcare expenses (Eid and Bucknall 2008). The nurse can work closely with the hospital physiotherapists on specific exercises and to assess whether individuals require mobility aides. The patients should be encouraged to participate in foot exercises such as rotation, flexion and extension of the ankle to encourage venous return and to help prevent pooling of blood in the calf muscles (Temple 2004). Since nurses spend more time with patients than other allied health professionals, it is essential that the nursing staff are aware of the nature and benefit of post operative exercises and are able to instruct and support patients in performing these exercises frequently throughout the day. In conclusion, hip arthroplasty is a common procedure that frequently results in increased levels of independence

How Canada Can Make Its Own Decisions As A Nation From the fall of 1939 to the fall of 1945, it was evident that the recent World War had greatly affected various countries around the world, especially those who [struggled] through it on an almost national level. One of these countries includes Canada, who fought alongside the United Kingdom, United States, France and the Soviet Union in a military alliance known as The Allies against Nazi Germanyand the Axis Powers. At the time, it was a comparatively new and independent country, with a smaller military force compared to others involved in the wars efforts. Their declaration of war was approximately one week after the powers of Britain and France; on September 10th, 1939. This was likely done to show that Canada can make its own decisions as a nation, and that it was not as committed to Britain s declaration as much as in World War I, which started just twenty five years prior. Despite the country s military size, Canada still played a significant role in World War II. Due to the nation s contributions of military, economic and social advances, the Allies were able to win the war, and Canada was able to improve on its own as a country. During the time of World War II, Canada contributed an extraordinary military effort to the Allied forces in the battles overseas. • 24. India s The Partition Of India The partition of India is one of the defining chapters in India s entire history. Although many different reasons caused the partition, political factors were a key player in bringing about this monumental change in India s borders. The pre existing communal differences between Hindus and Muslims grew as a result of the fears of both groups losing power and giving up control to the other. The partition which was supposed to grant freedom and independence for all Indians resulted in creating a deeper hatred and animosity which would cost countless lives through riots, rape, and mass murder for decades to come. Gandhi said in actual life, it is impossible to separate us into two nations. We are not two nations. Every Moslem will have a Hindu name if he goes back far enough in his family history. Every Moslem is merely a Hindu who has accepted Islam. That does not create nationality. . . . We in Indiahave a common culture. In the North, Hindi and Urdu are understood by both Hindus and Moslems. In Madras, Hindus and Moslems speak Tamil, and in Bengal, they both speak Bengali and neither Hindi nor Urdu. When communal riots take place, they are always provoked by incidents over cows and by religious processions. That means that it is our superstitions that create the trouble and not our separate nationalities. He tried to unite all Indians by showing them that having different religions does not separate Indians and the only path to true independence would be to come

The monetarist theory of inflation asserts that the general price level would rise only due an increase in money supply, but will not be proportionate. According to monetarists, money supply is the dominant but not exclusive determinant of both prices and the output level in the short run, but in the long run money supply only determines the level of prices. The output level in the long run is not determined by money supply. Monetarists emphasize so much on the role of money and therefore hold that money supply is very crucial tool of monetary policies in stabilization of the economy as compared to fiscal policies. Milton Friedman stated as follows inflation is always and everywhere monetary phenomenon that will arise when money supply rises at a faster rate than the growth of national output. You may wonder how the world is stage, and through his use of similes, metaphors, and imagery Shakespeare explains this elaborates on this question. William Shakespeare s use of similes in the Seven Ages of Man helps to start the poem and give it a meaning early on by adding emphasis on certain topics. For example in the beginning he uses the men and women merely players (Line 2) to explain that people don t own the world but live in it. By using this simile he explains how people progress through life like a play, making an entrance to the stage and leaving afterwards. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore Shakespeare compares The Last Age to childishness and oblivion meaning that after you have gone through all the stages everything you have built up demolishes and you start back at the first stage. The last line of the poem helps you to determine how the play ends and because this comparison is made it makes you aware of people in your life that have gone through a few of the stages described by Shakespeare. Giving you the idea that the stages may occur in your life but in the end it really doesn t matter what you have done, because it will most likely be destroyed. The idea that what you have developed will be demolished makes you wonder what you are doing and have done with your life. Imagery is prominent in The Seven Ages of Man and is used to give meaning to a line or phrase meaning while creating complex images. When Shakespeare describes the boy as a creeping snail and sighing like a furnace you can image a drowsy boy who is on his way to school, but when described as having a shining morning face it gives you a completely different idea. By placing two differential images close together Shakespeare creates two separate moods in a few lines, which helps to determine the difference between two phases. Later on in the poem he uses the same strategy and says the man is bearded like a pard , portraying the image of a slightly older man who has moved on from the childish phase of the young schoolboy.
