Amherst in located in Western Massachusetts. The area is has more tress and
farmland rather than buildings like Boston. The campus is rather large and there are
close to 29,000 students currently studying and living here (UMass Amherst
Enrollment). Due to its student population size, there is constant construction on

On our arrival we looked for an area deeper in the forest and with flowing water.
Taking our tubes, one at a time we filled them up trying to get enough sample with
little to no rocks from the stream. We took four samples to make sure the area was
well covered. A group we were working with went to the other location, the Campus
Pond to gather data from there. They too took tubes to gather data and used two
tubes. Once the tubes were filled with the samples we took them back to the lab,
the tubes were put on a tube holder. After having the tubes stay still for a few
minutes a few drops were put on a wet mount to view under the microscope. The
samples were also shaken thoroughly to find more species. We also used a filter.
Going through the different samples we tried to find the different amount of
species that were in the stream. Looking at different online organism identification
websites helped is in identifying the organism. Specifically we looked at a
Microscopy UK pond key. We also used a website called MicroscopyU as well as a
Pond Identification Sheet. Calculations were all done on a Microsoft program Excel.

The proactive personality construct was introduced by Bateman and Crant (1993)
who defined it as a relatively stable tendency to effect environmental change (p. 107).
Since that time proactive personality has emerged as a heuristic construct in
organizational settings, showing significant relationships with such variables as job
performance, career success, and leadership quality (e.g., Crant Bateman, 2000;

Other differences and similarities between Medieval Europe and Shogunate Japan
were those that lay between their use and choice of armour and weaponry, and in
general their armies.
Both the medieval European knights and the Japanese samurai used horses as means
of transport into battle. They also both wore armour and used swords. European
armour was typically all metal and was made or either chain mail or plate metal.
Whilst this made them more protected, it also restricted their movement. In contrast,
the Japanese samurais donned armour which comprised of lacquered leather or metal
plates with silk or metal bindings. This light weight armour was advantageous in that
it allowed the samurai to be quick and more agile. The drawback to this armour

Listening to conversations about food on campus, I found that there was a
common theme last year: it was difficult to find healthy food on campus. I think

1. Abstract:
The Ccost estimate is important for projects throughout its life cycle, starting from
feasibility studies till tendering stage and developing BOQ, it provides significant
information that even may serve project budgeting and controlling if reliable.
This paper presents a comparison between two cost estimate predictive modeling, an
artificial intelligence approach using neural networks as non parametric modeling;
and multiplely regression modeling that represents advanced engineering statics a
parametric modeling.
Results show that neural networks have advantages when dealing with data that for
which there is little a priori knowledge of the appropriate cost estimate relationship
to select for regression modeling. However, in cases where an appropriate CER can
be identified, regression models have significant advantages in terms of accuracy,
variability, model creation and model examination. Both simulated and actual data
sets are used for comparison.
Our research is applied for a specific package of construction projects (concrete work)
based on 17 projects with a 115 records.

inmates into segregation, to keep them away for the general population (Smith,
2012). Administrative segregation is often used the most when housing transgender
inmates. This form of segregation is very similar to solitary confinement, meaning
that inmates are put in a single cell and left alone for hours at a time (Simopoulos
