Essay On Sigmund Freud
Crafting an essay on the subject of Sigmund Freud can be a challenging endeavor, as it requires
a nuanced understanding of Freudian theories, psychoanalysis, and the historical context in
which Freud lived and worked. Delving into Freud's intricate concepts, such as the id, ego, and
superego, as well as his groundbreaking ideas on dreams, sexuality, and the unconscious mind,
demands careful research and thoughtful analysis.
Navigating through Freud's extensive body of work can be daunting, given the depth and
complexity of his theories. The challenge lies not only in comprehending Freud's ideas but also in
critically evaluating and presenting them in a coherent and engaging manner. Furthermore,
addressing the controversies and criticisms surrounding Freud's theories adds another layer of
complexity to the essay, requiring a balanced and well-supported discussion.
Moreover, it's essential to contextualize Freud's work within the historical and cultural backdrop
of his time, considering the societal norms and scientific paradigms that influenced his theories.
Unraveling Freud's contributions to psychology while acknowledging the evolving nature of the
field adds an additional layer of complexity to the writing process.
In conclusion, writing an essay on Sigmund Freud demands a meticulous exploration of his
theories, a critical examination of their implications, and an adept handling of the historical and
cultural context. While the intellectual challenge is undeniable, the opportunity to engage with
one of the most influential figures in the history of psychology can be intellectually rewarding.

Analysis Of The Movie Wall E
Animation is an often under estimated medium, being seen as primarily for kids and
cute story s that somewhat lack in substance. But in recent years, companies like
Pixar have done a great job of making family movies which contain a strong
message. Wall E is one of those movies. The movie takes place in the future, after a
point where humanity has pushed the earthto a point beyond vegetation and is
currently living aboard a space ship, in which everything they need is done for them,
even walking. Despite its bleak premise, the title character, Wall E is a cute, lovable,
family friendly robot, who is in many ways more human than what s left of humanity.
We are introduced to a world, literally covered in garbage, that Wall E has been
sorting through for an unspecified amount of time, diligently doing his job to
compact and sort all the debris, left by his human creators. As the film proceeds, we
see what a lonely existence Wall E leads until Eve shows up with her unknown
directive, eventually becoming a friend to Wall E. As the film proceeds eventually
we find that Eve s motivation is to check whether the Earth is capable of vegetation
yet, for the humans now aboard the Axiom space station.
After following Eve back to Axiom, we find that through generations of over
reliance on the machines aboard Axiom, humans have become anti social, over
weight, lazy versions of their former selves. At this point, the message of the movie
starts to kick in and we begin to see where
How Does Elie Wiesel Use Extended Metaphor In Night
Elie Wiesel uses extended metaphor in his memoir Night to show a time where
there is suffering, death, and when terrible things happen. After Wiesel describes
how Madame Schächter was calm during the day, Wiesel states, As soon as night
fell, she began to scream: There s a fire over there! She would point at a spot in
space, always the same one. (Page 24) Wiesel uses the word night to show a time
with suffering, death, and terrible things when he said that Madame Schächter got
visions of fire as soon as it was night and not during the day, and this shows that
night has suffering because Madame Schächter was suffering from her visions and
terrible things because fire can be terrible by causing death. Wiesel describes his first
night at the

Abstract This Paper includes the development of domino CMOS technology for
the design of XOR gate. Low power dissipation is one of the main design
considerations for high level performance circuits. The leakage power dissipation is

the most effective way to achieve low power performance VDD is directly
proportional to the leakage power. If the supply voltage reduced and keeping the
constant threshold voltage at its original value results in drastic degrading in
speed because as the supply voltage is reduced the gate drive voltage (VDD VT)
reduces and thus the delay increases since propagation delay in a CMOS.To
overcome the delay degradation threshold voltage (VT) is to be reduced. Reduction
in threshold voltage causes an exponential increase in sub threshold leakage current.
As one continues to scale down supply voltage and threshold voltage . In this paper,
a low leakage domino XOR circuit is proposed. Proposed circuit employed mixed N

The absorption coefficient decides how far into a material, the light of a particular
wavelength can penetrate before it is absorbed.
The photons that have an energy above the band gap, depends on the wavelength and
its absorption coefficient is not constant. The likelihood of retaining a photon relies
on upon the probability of having a photon and an electron connect so as to move
starting with one energy band then onto the next. The absorption is relatively low for
photons with energy very close to that of the band gap, as only those electrons

Because dn/dω and dε /dω have the same sign, the index of refraction
decreases with frequency in a spectral region of anomalous dispersion. Anomalous
dispersion can be observed experimentally if the substance is not too opaque at the
resonance frequency. E.g. certain dyes have absorption bands in the visible region of
the spectrum and exhibit anomalous dispersion in the region of these bands. Prisms
doped with these dyes produce a spectrum that is reversed, i.e. the longer wavelengths
are refracted more than the shorter wavelengths. Aperture

Thrombin Research Paper
Thrombin is a naturally occurring protein that is present in the blood of humans and
animals. The main function of thrombin is as an intermediate step during hemostasis,
which slows bleeding by forming blood clots. Thrombin acts as an enzyme during an
injury, converting fibrinogen to fibrin, which then causes bloodclots to form. Due to
its properties, thrombin s application to the medical field includes topical surgery in
the case of minor injuries as well as various other medical procedures such as
neurosurgical operations. Apart from applications in the medical field, thrombin also
plays significant roles by directly interacting with endothelial cells throughout the
body. The precursor to thrombin is prothrombin, an inactivated proteinproduced in the
liver. Upon injury prothrombin converts to thrombin with the purpose of catalyzing
the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin. The process changes the blood plasma soluble
fibrinogen to fibrin, which is not plasma soluble. In order to do this the interaction
removes two peptide chains from the ends of fibrinogen. Once this reaction is
complete fibrin will begin to form a blood clot around the site of injury. While the
interaction between fibrinogen is important it is not the only major... Show more

A common use is for minor wounds, which are too small to mend by other standard
surgical methods. One method to deal with bleeding is to use fibrin glue on the site
of the wound. The glue contains both fibrinogen and thrombin and once applied to
the site of the injury forms fibrin monomers and eventually a fibrin clot.
Alternatively, administration of a hemostatic carrier with thrombin so topical
treatment is not necessary if not desired. Medical professionals also use pure
thrombin applied in a mist after dissolving it in a saline solution. This final method
is typically only for wounds that cover a large
Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor ( Vegf )
. Introduction
BehcВёet s disease is a systemic vasculitis of unknown origin, characterized by
recurrent oral and genital ulcers, uveitis, vas cular manifestations and other
multisystem affections [1,2]. Vasculitis causes endothelial destruction and thrombosis
[3]. Inflammatory thrombosis is well known in BD [4]. It has been recognized that
vascular endothelial dysfunction occurs in BD and plays a substantial role in the
vascular lesions. The path ogenic mechanism is uncertain [5].
There are several identified vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family
members: VEGF (VEGF A), VEGF B, VEGF C, VEGF D and placenta growth
factor which are key regulators of physiological and pathological vasculogene sis,
angiogenesis, lymphangiogenesis, hematopoiesis and vascu lar permeability. VEGF
is essential for angiogenesis and inflammation that are pathophysiologic factors of
BD [6]. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a potent cytokine that
modulates angiogenesis and vasculogenesis by acting as an essential mitogen for
vascular endothelial cells [7]. It is an important factor in the progression of
atherosclerosis [8].
Common carotid intima media thickness is an endothelial cell dysfunction parameter
that may be associated with athero sclerosis [9]. Its thickness is a known good
predictor of cardio vascular accidents in the general population [10] and has been
reported in the patients with different rheumatic diseases as a strong predictor of
cardiovascular events [11]. The

entrepreneurial spirit and partly forced by circumstance. Tanishq was coined from a
combination of Tata/Tamil Nadu and Nishq (meaning a necklace of gold coins) and,
again, from Tan, meaning body and Ishq, meaning love. Tanishq has set up its

To maintain its status, Tanishq continuously incorporates different strategies from
time to time to keep the fire of innovation burning, something that is most critical to
today s organization. Mission Vision It was launched in 1994 as a range of jewelry

change globally around this time, and the West entered a protracted period of slow
economic growth followed by recession. Supplying jewelry to the Americans
Europeans suddenly no longer seemed an attractive proposition. Initially, the
criticism for Titan s foray into jewelry was loud and often bitter. Eventually,
however, the critics were silenced. Tanishq, today, is perhaps the only major Tata
brand with a strong appeal for women. Very importantly, Tanishq has brought to the
market a whole new standard of business ethics and product reliability, in the
process bringing about a transformation in the manner in which jewelry is bought

jewelry buying behavior, and continues to set new parameters of excellence for

Roman Architecture And Architecture
As the Roman empire expanded their infrastructure over the years, they created some
of the most astounding engineering architectural developments. The Romans were
world known for their bridges, roads, tunnels, arches, vaults, and impressive
aqueducts. In addition, the Roman builders were able to dominate the landscape with
massive man made monoliths (Engineering an Empire, 2014). Their extensive
experience with the use of concrete enabled them to produce some elaborate meeting
halls, baths, and amphitheaters. Many of their constructions are still standing today
showing their exceptional engineering skills, practicality, and resourcefulness.
Ultimately, Roman leaders and engineers improved on past ideas and developments
by modifying materials and techniques that revolutionized architectural construction.
The Romans were constantly expanding their empire outward and realized that
running water was life. Therefore, they decided to look inward into improving and
preserving their quality of life in their capital city through a water distribution
system. The aqueducts developed by Roman engineers delivered 200 million gallons
of fresh water a day into Rome s major cities as well as a drainage and sewer system.
However, the construction of aqueducts was quite challenging. The Romans
engineered their aqueducts by approaching the city on a gradual gradient
(Engineering an Empire, 2014). The gradient was consistently calculated from long
distances to the actual source in the
Asset Management
CHAPTER ONE THE PROBLEM AND ITS SETTING
1.0 INTRODUCTION Asset management is a concept that companies use to
ascertain the value of their assets. It provides a quick measure of the worthiness of
the organization and so becomes easier for organizations to prepare their final
accounts as they are able to quickly estimate the value of their assets. Well managed
organizations are required to perform regular fixed asset audits. Tracking and
managing corporate assets and equipment is a challenge to most organizations
especially when there is a large volume of assets or when those assets move
frequently between departments or multiple branches. However in today‟s
regulatory environment, it has become more important than ever for companies to ...

c. What were the difficulties experienced in using the manual system?

d. Did the users have enough skills to operate the system? e. Where and how would
the asset register be kept and updated? 1.6 JUSTIFICATION OF THE STUDY. The
proposed study was recommended as it was of paramount importance to
organizations which had accepted and undertook the information technology era into
their businesses to have good and reliable ITAMS. The previous excel spreadsheets
which were used in recording assets were highly prone to errors and presented a lot
of paperwork, which required large storage space, and thus inappropriate and
inefficient for the organization to achieve optimum performance.
The researcher focused on managing IT assets only because past and existing manual
systems had too many loopholes which resulted in the organization losing valuable
IT assets due to theft and or abuse by employees. Unlike other tangible assets of the
organization IT assets have a shorter life span and often switch many hands within a
short period of time hence difficult in most cases to trace their whereabouts.
The proposed study would facilitate quick decision making and also reduce the
amount of time taken in locating computer hardware and software. Under the manual
system it took a lot of time in trying to locate and monitor IT assets in the
organization. The study was also meant to reduce operation costs in the IT
department as the organization would now
Essay on Belonging
The need to belong in an integral part of the human psyche. All people, on some level,
desire to feel a sense of belonging that will emerge from the connections made with
people, places, groups, communities and the larger world. Belonging cannot be
achieved without an understanding of oneself and their surroundings.
Belonging encompasses many different themes, several of which are explored in
Romulus My Father. Throughout Romulus My Father the characters are either
developing or not developing, an understanding of themselves and their surroundings

They share a deep connection from the time spent together alone at Frogmore.
Romulus says to a friend that My son is everything to me. This is similar to the
relationship between Chris and Christopher in The Pursuit of Happiness. Shortly
after Chris wife leaves him she picks Christopher up from day care but instead of
bringing him home at six o clock, like they had arranged, she keeps him for the
night. Chris confronts his wife the next day saying Hey, don t you ever take my
son away from me again. You hear me? ... Don t you take my son away from me
again. Chris, like Romulus, feels that he belongs with his son and from this
belonging he is able to overcome the many obstacles he faces in life as a single
father. Although there is no filial theme explored in the song the World at Large, the
line I like songs about drifters books about the same. They both seem to make me
feel a little less insane. Indicates that for the songwriter, a sense of belonging is found
in people that are similar to him, through the connections he has with other people.
As Bourne is searching for information of his past he learns that he lived in Paris.
At once he knows this is true, and from this understanding a sense of belonging to a
place, Paris, began to emerge. He then travels to Paris, which is the setting for the
majority of the text. When Marie says to Bourne, that they should leave Paris, that
they could start another life somewhere else, he replies

Firstly, people are an essential ingredient in service provision. Recruiting and
training the right staff is required to create a competitive advantage. Customers
make judgments about service provision and delivery based on the people
representing your organisation. Example, the praise received by the volunteers
(games makers) for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics demonstrates the
powerful effect people can create during service delivery. Staff require appropriate
interpersonal skills, aptititude, and service knowledge in order to deliver a quality
service (Service marketing mix n.d.).
Secondly, process is used to deliver the service. Imagine a customer walks into
Burger King and get it delivered within 2 minutes. What was the process that
allowed them to obtain an efficient service delivery? All services need to be
underpinned by clearly defined and efficient processes. This will avoid confusion
and promote a consistent service. In other words processes mean that everybody
knows what to do and how to do it (Service marketing mix n.d.).
Thirdly, physical evidence is about where the service is being delivered from. It is
particularly relevant to retailers operating out of shops. Physical evidence can be
used to charge a premium price for a service and establish a positive experience. For
example all hotels provide a bed to sleep on but one of the things affecting the price
charged, is the
Cross-Sectional Oral Health Survey Paper
A cross sectional oral health survey was designed to assess both functional and
psychosocial effects of dental disease on the elderly population of Buda, Texas
(US). Printed surveys that consisted of 50 open ended questions on dental disease
history and dental hygiene were mailed to the selected members of a target group.
However, the response rate was not satisfactory, as a large percentage of the selected
study participants either did not return the survey, or failed to answer all the
questions posed. The researchers opted for two strategies: prompt those who did not
respond with a second letter that guaranteed complete confidentiality and broaden the
pool of selected participants. Depending on the final response rate and researchers
statistical skills, the bias in the final publication will be more pronounced if: A.the
proportion of nonrespondents from the targeted sample is decreased B.the specific
weighting class adjustments are used on the final data C.the difference between the

In other words, the lower the survey response, the higher the likelihood for
nonresponse bias. This can be summed up with a general formula: Bias = P x (O N)
where P represents the proportion of nonrespondents in the targeted sample (also
referred to as the nonresponse rate), O the answer derived from observed responses,
and N the answer based only on nonrespondents. According to that formula, the bias
in question is calculated as the product of two main components: 1) nonresponse rate
and 2) the difference between the observed and nonrespondent answers. An increase
in either of the two components leads to increased nonresponse
Comparing Coyote And The Origin Of Death
Compare and contrast Life and death are things we cannot control, they are our fate
in life that we must accept. In the myth Coyote and the Origin of Death written by
Richard Erdoes and Alfonso Ortiz, a coyote changes the fate of the living and dead
simply by closing a door. In the myth The Origin of Deathwritten by Paul Radin, an
insect stated with a message from the moon, and then told the hare to relay the
message, where it was then changed into his own words, creating a change in the
hare s appearance from then on. In the myth Coyote and the Origin of Death the
trickster is the coyote that closed the door to prevent the dead from coming back to
life. In the beginning of the world, there was no death, everyone lived until the
The Endocrine System
Starting in the head and neck area one will find the hypothalamus, pineal gland,
parathyroid glands, pituitary gland, and thyroid gland. Some of the functions of the
hypothalamus, which is part of the brain, are to regulate body temperature, thirst,
sleep, mood, hunger, and the release of other hormones in the body. The function
pineal gland is to control circadian and circannual rhythms, and the release of
melatonin. The function of the parathyroid glands is to mainly to control calcium
levels in the body. The functions of the pituitary gland secrete various hormones for
various functions. The function of the thyroid gland is to increase the metabolic rate
to speed digestion. Now that the endocrine glands of the head and neck area have
been introduced, now the glands of the upper and lower torso will be introduced and
overviewed. The endocrine gland located in the upper torso is the thymus gland, in
the lower torso the adrenal glands, pancreas, and testis/ovaries can be found. The
function of the thymus gland is to stimulate the production and maturation of T
Lymphocytes. The functions of the adrenal glands are the raising of glucose levels,
the reabsorption of sodium and the excretion of potassium, and the stimulating of
reproductive organs that bring about sex characteristics. The function of pancreas is
to regulate blood glucose levels. And finally the function of the testis/ovaries is to
stimulate sex characteristics. All of these glands make up the Endocrine System.
Pablo Neruda Metaphors
Poems are a way for people to express their feelings in an art form that provides
enough literary clues and expressive qualities to help a reader understand what is
being expressed. Pablo Neruda became a legendary poet in his lifetime from 1904
to 1973 in Chile. He never failed to leave a part of himself in each of his poems for
the reader to either identify with or interpret, which is most evident in his use of
metaphor. His metaphors can be labelled as being open , for they provide literal
comparisons between two completely unrelated ideas, which leave room for personal
interpretation. Because of the confusion evident in those connections, the reader is
immersed into the metaphor and its resulting tone, mood, and connotative meanings.

When Neruda comes to a conclusion about his feelings, speaking to his loved one,
he tells her that if she feels compelled every day to love him with implacable
sweetness,/ if each day a flower/ climbs up to your lips to seek me,/ ah my love, ah
my own,/ in me all that fire is repeated,/ in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten,
/ my love feeds on your love, beloved (Lines 38 44). As the poem concludes in the
sixth line, the reader is softly coasted to the end of the poem. Neruda knows he
may have to part from his lover one day, but he ensures that she understands that as
long as she continues to love him without his presence, he will feel her
commitment and continue to love her back. He describes her devotion using the
description of a flower climbing up to her lips to seek him. The flower is part of
an open metaphor, since the meaning of the statement can differ despite the flower
being a clear symbol of love. Either the flower climbing to her lips is literal, as she
may kiss a flower in memory of Neruda when he is not around, or it can be a
representation of relentless, passionate love. After using the metaphor of a flower, the
line is
Pope Sixtus Influence On The Roman Church
Today I ll be talking about Francesco della Rovere whom later became Pope Sixtus
IV from the 14th century who was mostly known for his renovation and sizable
projects throughout Rome which became a supreme element and feature of Rome
s cityscape by the late 15th century. Sixtus assumed to the spiritual role as Pope of
the Roman Catholic Church on the 14th of December 1471 1484 and almost
immediately got renovations and building projects underway from the Ponte Sisto
to the Vatican Library and many streets throughout Rome. Prior to becoming Pope,
Sixtus was a prominent scholar and theologian and acquired his doctorate in 1444.
Unfortunately most facts about Sixtus before he was Pope are not to be found or
are quite rare which leads some historians to think that Sixtus could of been
ashamed of his prior life. However we do know that he came from poor family, his
father was either a fisherman or a cloth trader, and he became very close friends
with the della Rovere family. According to a few sources I found he became so
close to that family that he became just like a family... Show more content on

The architectural construction of the Sistine Chapel was between 1475 1481. The
historical and psychological substance of the Sistine Chapel s birth was evident in
his conflicts between the Franciscan factions, giving the Conventuals his favor,
together with his long term pursuit to canonize St. Bonaventure. The Sistine Chapel,
under the reign of Sixtus IV, contained fresco decorative paintings. The painted
imagery contained the first 30 Popes along with Martyrs, the feast of the

The Mechanical Characteristics Of Soft Tissue
The mechanical characteristics of soft tissue are the basis for several clinical and
nonclinical research studies, such as brain surgical simulation or breast needle biopsy
(Kaster et al., 2011; O Hagan Samani, 2009). Usually, anomalies found within the
breast are investigated by palpation techniques, in which responses of soft tissue to
large deformation are utilized (Goodson, 1996). Recent research on the mechanical
properties of soft tissue under compressive load has revealed that tissues exhibit a
linear stress strain relationship at low strain and nonlinear behavior at high strain
(Fung,
1993; Kaster et al., 2011; O Hagan Samani, 2009; Tsukune et al., 2011). Some
researchers have recommended mathematical models to describe the nonlinearity of
soft tissue (Kaster et al., 2011; K Miller, 1999; O Hagan Samani, 2009; Carolyn J
Sparrey Keaveny, 2011). The importance of nonlinear responses of soft tissue to
compressive load in clinical breast examination highlighted the need for launching a
comprehensive study on the hyperelastic characterization of in vitro and in vivo soft
tissues, to enhance clinical approaches including the detection of breast cancer.
The observed mechanical behavior of different breast biopsy phantoms validated the
statement proposed in several breast examination methods that breast fat, and
glandular and cancerous tissues behave differently mechanically (O Hagan Samani,
2008; Price et al., 2010). Moreover, there was a consistent correlation
Religious Law And The Law Of The Family
Additional laws have been passed by the Majlis that reinforce and refine religious
law and are designed to protect the integrity of the family.
The head of the household the father and the husband expects obedience and
respect from others in the family. In return, he is obligated to support them and to
satisfy their spiritual, social, and material needs. In practice, he is more a strict
disciplinarian. He also may be a focus of love and affection, and family members

Young Iranians, riddled with revolutionary religious views or secular values, have not

Marriage regulations are defined by Shiite religious law, although non Shiites are
permitted to follow their own religious practices. Before the Revolution, the legal
marriage age was eighteen for females and twenty one for males, although in practice
most couples, especially among lower class urban and rural families, actually were
younger than the law permitted when they married.
The average marriage age for both sexes was 18. Since the Revolution, the
minimum legal age for marriage for both males and females has been lowered to
fifteen and thirteen years, respectively, although even younger boys and girls may
be married with the permission of their fathers. The average age of marriage has

communication was through social networks such as Facebook and Telegram: The
frequency of our communication through social networks such as Facebook and

to inform the staff of the status quo governing the project. The information mainly
included the statistical data about the progress, in addition to some qualitative results

The Reid Technique For Interrogation
The Reid technique
One of the most famous technique for interrogation is the Reid technique. According
to the company website, over 500,000 law enforcement and security professionals
have attended the company s interview and interrogation training programs since they
were first offered in 1974. This technique is based of nine steps:
The first step is the positive confrontation; the officer will present the fact from the
case to the person being interrogated. The officer will say that the person might be
considered as a suspect because there are proofs than connect him to the ongoing
investigation.
The second step is the development of the theme, during the interrogation the
interrogator will ask why the suspect has committed the crime ... Show more content

At this point the suspect should be on the breach of being defeated in his lies. This
can be seen by nonverbal behaviors such as long silent moments or putting elbow on
the knees and posing his head on his hands. This is the point in the interrogation
when the suspect begins to confess and thus the police officer has to keep a good
contact with him.
The seventh step is about presenting an alternative, which means that the interrogator
will present another reason for why the suspect committed the crime.
The eighth step is called having the suspect orally relate various details of the offense
, which means that after the suspect accepted the fact that he is guilty, the officer
should try to know more about the crime and ask for details.
The ninth step is Converting an oral confession to a written confession. This is the
final step where the suspect will write his guilt.
The Reid technics is good when people are the real suspect and interrogator just
need to have the oral and the written consent of the crime. However, this technic can
be very aggressive and misleading when the person interrogated is just a witness. In
fact, Gregg McCrary, a retired F.B.I. agent, said that Reid techniquehas a tendency to
see lies where they sometimes may not exist. They just assume they re interviewing
the guilty guy.

Underground Railroad Research Paper
Despite being labeled the Underground Railroad , this system was neither
underground nor a railroad. The expression derived from the recent establishment
of railroads in the United States and the system s surreptitiousness. The railway
terms were used as code words by those in the business. The different routes were
called lines , stopping places were dubbed stations , those who assisted along the
passage were known as conductors , and the fugitives were referred to as packages or
freight . Its title makes the journey seem as though there is one particular path, but it
was quite the opposite. The Underground Railroadwas a vast organization of
networks that utilized countless people as aids, and extended through 14 Northern
states as well as Canada. Life as a slave was not easy or comfortable. It was full of

Many slaves had no idea where they were going or what it would be like once they
reached there, but they knew one thing it couldn t be worse than the life they were
enduring previously. The first step was to escape from the slaveholder. Sometimes
a conductor, posing as a slave, would enter a plantation and then guide the
runaways northward, but slaves mostly would just sneak off on their own. They
knew that in order to acquire freedom, they had to travel north. So they anxiously
followed the brightest star the North Star in hopes of sovereignty. If it was too
cloudy to distinguish the North Star, slaves often used moss since moss typically
grows on the north side of a tree as a compass. The escapees moved only at night,
and usually every 10 or 20 miles they would run into stations where they could rest
and eat. Conductors sometimes carried the slaves from station to station by horse
drawn wagon, concealing the slaves under hay or other items. The stationmasters
would hide the runaways wherever they could: barns, attics, basements, and secret
Argumentative Essay On Censorship In Schools
Furthermore, censors can be parents, teachers, administrators, or community
members (Kelsey). Boyd and Bailey shared, Although parents and guardians have
the right to demand that their child will not read a particular book or view a specific

school, or district should not read a particular bookor view a film. On the contrary,
there are people who are against censorship, such as the School Library Media

Lopez establishes the argument that it is against human nature because people will
do whatever they want and in this case, read whatever they want. Humans are
naturally curious and by investigating they learn and develop maturity and a more
cultured view of the world. Censorship in schools for adolescents is preposterous
because, at this age, they are venturing out and testing their limits. Authority figures
will not be able to stop this even if they try. Along with that, the more these authority
figures try to restrain adolescents, the more motivated they will be to continue
pushing the limits

A City Upon A Hill In The Scarlet Letter
A City Upon a Hill The Puritans living in New England thought that they were the
example that the world should follow. They believed that their moral standards and
way of life made them enlightened and John Winthrop, the first governor of the
Massachusetts Bay colony, had even said that the Puritans were a city upon a hill
because the rest of the world was watching them and looking up to them. However, in
Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter, Puritansociety in seventeenth century
Boston is proven to be hypocritical and corrupt when the harshness of the town is

This shows how cruel the other women in the town are towards Hester, mostly for
superficial reasons. However, it is inferred that most of those women had sinned
in some way, some were even adulterers, they just did not get caught. This is an
example of the extreme hypocrisy of Puritan society. Another example of
hypocrisy is Governor Bellingham s mansion that is described to have brilliancy
[that] might have better befitted Aladdin s palace rather than the mansion of a
grave old Puritan ruler (Hathorne 54). His house is very ornate in contrast to the
Puritan value of simplicity and not caring for material goods. Governor Bellingham
is supposed to be looked up to as a leader yet he strays far from his Puritan morals.
For these reasons the Governor is corrupt and this is showing the

Some Ways That The Environment Affects Human Health?
Air Pollution
Air pollution is one obvious environmental health threat in OECD countries,
contributing to a number of illnesses, such as asthma and in some cases leading to
premature death. Of particular concern is the fact that children are more vulnerable to
air pollution than adults, and increased rates of infant mortality have been recorded in
highly polluted areas.
Concerns about the impact of air pollution on health and the economy have resulted in
measures to mitigate emissions of the most harmful pollutants, such as particle

Molds
Molds are fungi that can be found both indoors and outdoors. No one knows how
many species of fungi exist but estimates range from tens of thousands to perhaps
three hundred thousand or more. Molds grow best in warm, damp, and humid
conditions, and spread and reproduce by making spores. Mold spores can survive
harsh environmental conditions, such as dry conditions, that do not support normal
mold growth. Some people are sensitive to molds. For these people, exposure to
molds can cause symptoms such as nasal stuffiness, eye irritation, wheezing, or skin
irritation. Some people, such as those with serious allergies to molds, may have
more severe reactions. Severe reactions may occur among workers exposed to large
amounts of molds in occupational settings, such as farmers working around moldy
hay. Severe reactions may include fever and shortness of breath. Some people with
chronic lung illnesses, such as obstructive lung disease, may develop

Essay about Foreign Policy
The Roosevelt Corollary greatly affected American foreign policy. It was in sharp
contrast to the Monroe Doctrine, put in place to stop foreign intervention with the
American continents. In 1823 President Monroe implemented US policy that stated
European powers were not allowed to colonize or interfere with the newly budding
United Statesor the Americas. In 1904 President Roosevelt expanded upon this
policy in response to European intervention with Latin America. This policy became
known as the Roosevelt Corollary. The document echoed the style of leadership
President Roosevelt became synonymous with. This more aggressive form of policy
became known as Big Stick Diplomacy. Foreign policy in the United States would

The economy was expanding and the US became more interested in the well being of
surrounding economies. The Dominican Republic was in debt to various European
nations at this time. They were having problems paying their debts and chose to stop
paying them. In response to this issue, President Theodore Roosevelt formulated an
extension to the Monroe Doctrine. The Roosevelt Corollary, as it became to be
known, gave the US the power to intervene with European powers coming west in an
attempt to collect debts.2 The fear was that Europe, in an attempt to collect debts,
would occupy and control the country in debt. With the Panama Canal on the scope,
this would hinder economic stimulus in the US. President Roosevelt s beliefs are best
captured in the Corollary when he stated:
It is not true that the United States feels any land hunger or entertains any projects
as regards the other nations of the Western Hemisphere save such as are for their
welfare. All that this country desires is to see the neighboring countries stable,
orderly, and prosperous. Any country whose people conduct themselves well can
count upon our hearty friendship. If a nation shows that it knows how to act with
reasonable efficiency and decency in social and political matters, if it keeps order
and pays its obligations, it need fear no interference from the United States.
Gifted Hands Ben Carson Character Traits

many good character traits. One main character trait that Mr. Carson has been his
determination. Frequent times throughout the novel, Mr.Carson is struggling with
trying to help other patients. In the novel, it states that. One my way to the
operating room I ran into another neurosurgeon senior to me and a man I highly

Even though a highly respectable surgeon told him not to waste his time on it; Mr.

trait that Mr.Carson has is that he has been a very caring person. He cares a lot for
all of his patients, working the hardest to save their lives. In the novels it shows
that, Momentarily I forgot about Craig and myself and I felt sorry for him, I kept
saying to myself, I feel so sorry for him. I ran down the hall the hall and caught up
with him. I hugged him and said, Don t feel so bad,Ben. I went back to the room. A

The Army And Marine Corps
Sun Tzu s military acumen resonates in the current discussion of the Marine Corps
preparedness to conduct forcible entry. The Army and Marine Corps saw significant
successes utilizing forcible entry and amphibious operations in the Pacific during
WWII and the Korean War. The landing at Inchon was arguably the Corps greatest
amphibious success (Cancian, Preserving Amphibious Capabilities in a Time of
Austerity, 2012). Led by General MacArthur, Inchon remains the legacy by which
future amphibious operations are compared against. However, it is important to
recognize that in the past 60+ years since Inchon, the modern militarization of both
state and non state adversaries has transformed the battlespace to utilize warfare
across multiple domains. This transformation requires a forthright Sun Tzu like
comparison of Marine Corps capabilities, and the perspicacity to recognize that our
current posture along with a traditional approach to amphibious warfareis no longer
effective at countering our enemies. Given the challenges that exist across the
domains of military operations, this paper will demonstrate how based on the current
concepts and amphibious capabilities, the U.S. Marine Corps is less prepared to
conduct forcible entry operations than we were during the landing at Inchon, and
subsequent liberation of Seoul. The transformation in military thought towards
employment of forces across multi domain operations battlespace is based on the

Essay Psuedopsychology vs the Scientific Method
Humans have inhabited the Earth for thousands of years and it is perceived by
many that we are among the most intellectual species on this planet. Although
having lived on this planet for so long, being able to distinguish fact from fiction
has escaped the minds of many. People of today s society are easily influenced by
what is told to them instead of what can be proven. Believing in something that has
no scientific evidence is not only absurd but can be classified simply as ignorance.
Many of the erratic ideas that are believed by many today have originated in a time

Horoscopes and Astrology: A man who made the practice of horoscopes and
astrology susceptible to Christians allowed for these beliefs to spread throughout
the world in the 1600 s was William Lilly. During his time he was seen as a great
prophet, and became famous for predicting The Great Fire of London through one
of his hieroglyphic drawings (McCann, 1990). The Great Fire of London happened
on September 2, 1666 and it started out as a small fire in the bakeshop of Thomas
Forger destroying about 430 acres of land including 13,000 house, 89 churches and
many other buildings leaving countless homeless. This fire occurred 14 years after
William Lilly predicted one, and at this time London has been prone to having fires
due to its infrastructure. Most of the houses and other buildings were made of wood
and highly flammable, causing something that started as a house fire to a fire that
engulfed a great majority of London. This hasn t been the only great fire that this
city has witnessed. Along with the fire of 1633 and 1676, the fire of 1666 has
increased its caliber of destruction primarily because of the city s construction
Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia

President William McKinley
The march of events rules and overrules human action, William McKinley s own
words would soon become foretelling for his presidency. On September 6, 1901, at
the Pan American Exhibition in Buffalo, New York, President William McKinley
reached for another handshake two large bangs interrupted the buzz of voices in the
Temple of Music. Eight days later, William McKinleydied from his wounds.
McKinley s untimely death shocked the nation and created many changes in the
United States as a whole. How and why McKinley was assassinated and what
changes occurred due to the death of the President. William McKinley was born
on January 29, 1843, in Niles, Ohio. At age ten, he moved with his family to
Poland, Ohio. William Jr. was the seventh of eight children. His father owned a
small iron foundry which gave young William a strong work ethic and a respectful
attitude. William s mother, Nancy, taught him the value of prayer, courtesy, and
honesty in all relations. Education in William s early years consisted of attending a
school run by the Methodist seminary in his hometown of Poland, Ohio. After
graduation he attended Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania for only one
term due to illness after his fight with depression and financial difficulties in the
family. Financial troubles within the family made it impossible for William to go
back to school, forcing him to take a job as a postal clerk and later a teaching
position at a school near his home in Poland, Ohio.
The Forces Of Nature In Jack London s To Build A Fire
Jack London was one of the great writers in the Naturalism Period, his pieces came
from a unique experience during a winter spent in the Yukon. His stories are truly
special pieces to read. London, who was born 1876 in San Francisco, ventured to
the Yukon in the winter of 1897 which provided inspiration for his literary art (
Jack London: Biography ). Author of many other stories, he published To Build a
Fire in 1902; he later died in 1916 ( Jack London: Biography ). In this story, a man
and a dogventure onto the coldYukonTrail during the winter, a brutal setting for
anyone. With the combination of foolish mistakes and a lack of good luck, he passes
away before he can reach camp to have dinner (London, To Build A Fire ). London,
through his brilliant writing, conveys that a person should never underestimate the
forces of nature. In To Build a Fire, Jack London builds this theme through his use of
conflict, foreshadowing, and figurative language.
London uses an external conflict in the form of man vs. nature in order to build his
theme in To Build A Fire. In the story, in order to get to camp with the boys to eat
supper, the man must fight against the brutal forces of nature. The man vs. nature
conflict becomes more apparent when the narrator says, He knew that the coldest
snaps never froze these springs, and he knew likewise their danger. They were traps
( To Build A Fire ). This conflict with the man and nature helps convey London s
theme by showing how truly

Glucocorticoids In Ra
There are several appropriate indications for the use of glucocorticoids in RA.
While they do not alter the course of the disease, they do control inflammation and
subsequently help control disease activity. A patient may be prescribed a
glucocorticoid such as prednisone: while waiting for DMARD or biologic to take
effect, during a flare, in small doses long term when the disease cannot be controlled
with DMARDs or biologics, or directly into an inflamed joint. While glucocorticoids
are very effective at relieving inflammation, they lead to osteoporosis. Like NSAIDs,
they increase the risk of diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertensionand PUD with chronic

disease activity actually have lower serum LDL and triglyceride levels than
patients in a remission phase, known as the lipid paradox. 5 One of the larger areas
of debate is when statin therapy should be initiated in RA patients. As the CVD
risk in RA approaches that in DMII, some experts suggest that all RA patients be
placed on a statin regardless of lipid levels or other CVD risk factors.12 In
contrast, the European guidelines state: as yet there is no indication for the
preventive use of lipid lowering drugs only on the basis of autoimmune disease. 5 A
post hoc analysis of IDEAL study found that RA patients taking statins had higher
incidence of myalgia than those without RA, and that RA patients were more likely
to have adverse affects that caused them to discontinue the medications. However,
follow up of these patients did not find increased cases of myopathy.5 These
increased side effects must be balanced against other studies that suggest early statin
therapy is cost effective and may even protect from RA development, activity, and
progression. 5 There is a need for more research in this area, but for now health care
providers must treat each patient on an individual
Drones Bad
Drones are widely discussed if there good or bad for the environment around them or
if
In one way arguments are saying they could say that drones are peaceful and they
help spot dangers with their camera and that they could help spot terrorist attacks
earlier. But in the other argument, they say that they could say drones are a danger
up high to pilots and that they can be used to spy on people. But this is why drones
are bad for society and that they can be used for a lot of scary stuff that can be used
against you.
One reason why People need to get rid of drones is that they can spy on people.
They can be used to spy on borders and they will think that People are spying on
them because People don t trust them. drones can make people ... Show more content

It can also be a possibility if a person gets something bad inside of your body or an
infection in your skin. They can also confuse or crash into pilots and if it s a
passenger plane it can kill a lot of people and it s more likely because other
countries have them. Another reason that people need to get rid of drones is
because they can be used for terrorist attacks. They could attach something to the
drone so it can be used to attack us harshly and people wouldn t even see it coming.
They can be used really harshly against us and it could eventually start the third
war and it can be more dangerous because of all the technologically and because of
small drones. Drones are hard to see so that s why it can be dangerous for all
countries and can lead to fewer allies for United states because people could also use
it or they can become more week.
Drones could be used to stop terrorist attacks and they could spy on killers and
where terrorist camps are. They could be used for spotting fires while they are
starting or getting bigger and more spread
Bill C-24 Essay
On October 19th,2015 we vote to end the reign of the man who had been called the
worst prime minister in history this man is Steven Harper. Harper became prime
minister in 2006 and since then has done nothing but bad for Canada. Harpers
record is that of someone who doesn t hold the values of us Canadians. Some very
un Canadian things about Harper are; His attack on science , sexism, and racism.
image
When the Harper government took control of the country in 2006 they started to
control and even prevent the free flow of scientific information across Canada,
especially the type that highlighted the consequences of industrial development. This
was done two ways: through silencing scientists who might speak of this scientific
information, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Recently there have been two anti terrorism bills that are really affecting Canadian
citizens who weren t born here. Bill C 24 is an attack on duel citizens that were
not born in Canada or are eligible for another citizenship. This bill allows these the
Canadian government to revoke your citizenship if you have committed or are
suspected of serious crimes. They could also deport you. This creates the idea of
second class citizens. Some are not able to be targeted well others are immune.
Bill C 51 is one that is really complicated, but the something it does are: It gives
CSIS and the RCMP larger power in order to prevent terrorism. The issue is no
checks and balances, no safeguards, and nothing in place to make sure what CSIS
is doing is legal. It also even has allowed CSIS to break the charter of rights with
permission without the public ever being notified. It also vastly expands our
definition of security and that of which terrorism falls under. The terms definition of
terrorism is very vague. Threats of terrorism can now be considered: interfering with
public safety, the economy or financial security of Canada East. This could trap
illegal protestors or the blockading railways and much more under terrorism charges.
The bill also effects a lot more and threatens the rights and freedoms of many

  • 2. Analysis Of The Movie Wall E Animation is an often under estimated medium, being seen as primarily for kids and cute story s that somewhat lack in substance. But in recent years, companies like Pixar have done a great job of making family movies which contain a strong message. Wall E is one of those movies. The movie takes place in the future, after a point where humanity has pushed the earthto a point beyond vegetation and is currently living aboard a space ship, in which everything they need is done for them, even walking. Despite its bleak premise, the title character, Wall E is a cute, lovable, family friendly robot, who is in many ways more human than what s left of humanity. We are introduced to a world, literally covered in garbage, that Wall E has been sorting through for an unspecified amount of time, diligently doing his job to compact and sort all the debris, left by his human creators. As the film proceeds, we see what a lonely existence Wall E leads until Eve shows up with her unknown directive, eventually becoming a friend to Wall E. As the film proceeds eventually we find that Eve s motivation is to check whether the Earth is capable of vegetation yet, for the humans now aboard the Axiom space station. After following Eve back to Axiom, we find that through generations of over reliance on the machines aboard Axiom, humans have become anti social, over weight, lazy versions of their former selves. At this point, the message of the movie starts to kick in and we begin to see where

After Wiesel describes how Madame Schächter was calm during the day, Wiesel states, As soon as night fell, she began to scream: There s a fire over there! She would point at a spot in space, always the same one. (Page 24) Wiesel uses the word night to show a time with suffering, death, and terrible things when he said that Madame Schächter got visions of fire as soon as it was night and not during the day, and this shows that night has suffering because Madame Schächter was suffering from her visions and terrible things because fire can be terrible by causing death. Wiesel describes his first night at the

Low power dissipation is one of the main design considerations for high level performance circuits. The leakage power dissipation is controlled by the factor gate oxide leakage and threshold leakage and thus the overall leakage of domino XOR circuits. To show the efficiency of the proposed model, a simple example like implementing of XOR gate with P type domino XOR, N type domino XOR gate and PN mixed domino XOR gate, an average power dissipation reduced up to 66.15% and propagation delay is 46.66% Keywords: XOR Gate; Leakage Current; Dynamic power; threshold voltage I.INTRODUCTION Circuit realization for low power and low area has... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The third source of power dissipation is leakage power dissipation. In the MOSFET, the leakage current comprised of six short channel mechanisms. Reverse bias PN junction leakage, sub threshold leakage, gate oxide leakage, gate current due to hot carrier injection. Gate includes drain leakage and channel punch through current. Among these components the two main contributes of leakage are reversed biased PN junction current and sub threshold current . Dynamic power P=CLV2DDfc Leakage power Pleakage=VDDllarge Lowering the supply voltage is the most effective way to achieve low power performance VDD is directly proportional to the leakage power. If the supply voltage reduced and keeping the constant threshold voltage at its original value results in drastic degrading in speed because as the supply voltage is reduced the gate drive voltage (VDD VT) reduces and thus the delay increases since propagation delay in a CMOS.To overcome the delay degradation threshold voltage (VT) is to be reduced. Reduction in threshold voltage causes an exponential increase in sub threshold leakage current. As one continues to scale down supply voltage and threshold voltage . In this paper, a low leakage domino XOR circuit is proposed. Proposed circuit employed mixed N and P type

  • 8. Thrombin Research Paper Thrombin is a naturally occurring protein that is present in the blood of humans and animals. The main function of thrombin is as an intermediate step during hemostasis, which slows bleeding by forming blood clots. Thrombin acts as an enzyme during an injury, converting fibrinogen to fibrin, which then causes bloodclots to form. Due to its properties, thrombin s application to the medical field includes topical surgery in the case of minor injuries as well as various other medical procedures such as neurosurgical operations. Apart from applications in the medical field, thrombin also plays significant roles by directly interacting with endothelial cells throughout the body. The precursor to thrombin is prothrombin, an inactivated proteinproduced in the liver. Upon injury prothrombin converts to thrombin with the purpose of catalyzing the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin. The process changes the blood plasma soluble fibrinogen to fibrin, which is not plasma soluble. In order to do this the interaction removes two peptide chains from the ends of fibrinogen. Once this reaction is complete fibrin will begin to form a blood clot around the site of injury. While the interaction between fibrinogen is important it is not the only major... Introduction BehcВёet s disease is a systemic vasculitis of unknown origin, characterized by recurrent oral and genital ulcers, uveitis, vas cular manifestations and other multisystem affections [1,2]. Vasculitis causes endothelial destruction and thrombosis [3]. Inflammatory thrombosis is well known in BD [4]. It has been recognized that vascular endothelial dysfunction occurs in BD and plays a substantial role in the vascular lesions. The path ogenic mechanism is uncertain [5]. There are several identified vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family members: VEGF (VEGF A), VEGF B, VEGF C, VEGF D and placenta growth factor which are key regulators of physiological and pathological vasculogene sis, angiogenesis, lymphangiogenesis, hematopoiesis and vascu lar permeability. VEGF is essential for angiogenesis and inflammation that are pathophysiologic factors of BD [6]. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a potent cytokine that modulates angiogenesis and vasculogenesis by acting as an essential mitogen for vascular endothelial cells [7]. It is an important factor in the progression of atherosclerosis [8]. Common carotid intima media thickness is an endothelial cell dysfunction parameter that may be associated with athero sclerosis [9]. Its thickness is a known good predictor of cardio vascular accidents in the general population [10] and has been reported in the patients with different rheumatic diseases as a strong predictor of cardiovascular events [11]. The Romans were world known for their bridges, roads, tunnels, arches, vaults, and impressive aqueducts. In addition, the Roman builders were able to dominate the landscape with massive man made monoliths (Engineering an Empire, 2014). Their extensive experience with the use of concrete enabled them to produce some elaborate meeting halls, baths, and amphitheaters. Many of their constructions are still standing today showing their exceptional engineering skills, practicality, and resourcefulness. Ultimately, Roman leaders and engineers improved on past ideas and developments by modifying materials and techniques that revolutionized architectural construction. The Romans were constantly expanding their empire outward and realized that running water was life. Therefore, they decided to look inward into improving and preserving their quality of life in their capital city through a water distribution system. The aqueducts developed by Roman engineers delivered 200 million gallons of fresh water a day into Rome s major cities as well as a drainage and sewer system. However, the construction of aqueducts was quite challenging. The Romans engineered their aqueducts by approaching the city on a gradual gradient (Engineering an Empire, 2014). The gradient was consistently calculated from long distances to the actual source in the

The proposed study was recommended as it was of paramount importance to organizations which had accepted and undertook the information technology era into their businesses to have good and reliable ITAMS. The previous excel spreadsheets which were used in recording assets were highly prone to errors and presented a lot of paperwork, which required large storage space, and thus inappropriate and inefficient for the organization to achieve optimum performance. The researcher focused on managing IT assets only because past and existing manual systems had too many loopholes which resulted in the organization losing valuable IT assets due to theft and or abuse by employees. Unlike other tangible assets of the organization IT assets have a shorter life span and often switch many hands within a short period of time hence difficult in most cases to trace their whereabouts. The proposed study would facilitate quick decision making and also reduce the amount of time taken in locating computer hardware and software. Under the manual system it took a lot of time in trying to locate and monitor IT assets in the organization. The study was also meant to reduce operation costs in the IT department as the organization would now

Pablo Neruda Metaphors Poems are a way for people to express their feelings in an art form that provides enough literary clues and expressive qualities to help a reader understand what is being expressed. Pablo Neruda became a legendary poet in his lifetime from 1904 to 1973 in Chile. He never failed to leave a part of himself in each of his poems for the reader to either identify with or interpret, which is most evident in his use of metaphor. His metaphors can be labelled as being open , for they provide literal comparisons between two completely unrelated ideas, which leave room for personal interpretation. He describes her devotion using the description of a flower climbing up to her lips to seek him. The flower is part of an open metaphor, since the meaning of the statement can differ despite the flower being a clear symbol of love. The Mechanical Characteristics Of Soft Tissue The mechanical characteristics of soft tissue are the basis for several clinical and nonclinical research studies, such as brain surgical simulation or breast needle biopsy (Kaster et al., 2011; O Hagan Samani, 2009). Usually, anomalies found within the breast are investigated by palpation techniques, in which responses of soft tissue to large deformation are utilized (Goodson, 1996). Recent research on the mechanical properties of soft tissue under compressive load has revealed that tissues exhibit a linear stress strain relationship at low strain and nonlinear behavior at high strain (Fung, 1993; Kaster et al., 2011; O Hagan Samani, 2009; Tsukune et al., 2011). Some researchers have recommended mathematical models to describe the nonlinearity of soft tissue (Kaster et al., 2011; K Miller, 1999; O Hagan Samani, 2009; Carolyn J Sparrey Keaveny, 2011). The importance of nonlinear responses of soft tissue to compressive load in clinical breast examination highlighted the need for launching a comprehensive study on the hyperelastic characterization of in vitro and in vivo soft tissues, to enhance clinical approaches including the detection of breast cancer. • 23. The Reid Technique For Interrogation The Reid technique One of the most famous technique for interrogation is the Reid technique. According to the company website, over 500,000 law enforcement and security professionals have attended the company s interview and interrogation training programs since they were first offered in 1974. This technique is based of nine steps: The first step is the positive confrontation; the officer will present the fact from the case to the person being interrogated. The officer will say that the person might be considered as a suspect because there are proofs than connect him to the ongoing investigation. The second step is the development of the theme, during the interrogation the interrogator will ask why the suspect has committed the crime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this point the suspect should be on the breach of being defeated in his lies. This can be seen by nonverbal behaviors such as long silent moments or putting elbow on the knees and posing his head on his hands. This is the point in the interrogation when the suspect begins to confess and thus the police officer has to keep a good contact with him. The seventh step is about presenting an alternative, which means that the interrogator will present another reason for why the suspect committed the crime. The eighth step is called having the suspect orally relate various details of the offense , which means that after the suspect accepted the fact that he is guilty, the officer should try to know more about the crime and ask for details. The ninth step is Converting an oral confession to a written confession. This is the final step where the suspect will write his guilt. The Reid technics is good when people are the real suspect and interrogator just need to have the oral and the written consent of the crime. However, this technic can be very aggressive and misleading when the person interrogated is just a witness. In fact, Gregg McCrary, a retired F.B.I. agent, said that Reid techniquehas a tendency to see lies where they sometimes may not exist. They just assume they re interviewing the guilty guy. The PEACE

The first step was to escape from the slaveholder. Sometimes a conductor, posing as a slave, would enter a plantation and then guide the runaways northward, but slaves mostly would just sneak off on their own. They knew that in order to acquire freedom, they had to travel north. So they anxiously followed the brightest star the North Star in hopes of sovereignty. If it was too cloudy to distinguish the North Star, slaves often used moss since moss typically grows on the north side of a tree as a compass. The escapees moved only at night, and usually every 10 or 20 miles they would run into stations where they could rest and eat. Conductors sometimes carried the slaves from station to station by horse drawn wagon, concealing the slaves under hay or other items. The stationmasters would hide the runaways wherever they could: barns, attics, basements, and secret

The Roosevelt Corollary, as it became to be known, gave the US the power to intervene with European powers coming west in an attempt to collect debts.2 The fear was that Europe, in an attempt to collect debts, would occupy and control the country in debt. With the Panama Canal on the scope, this would hinder economic stimulus in the US. President Roosevelt s beliefs are best captured in the Corollary when he stated: It is not true that the United States feels any land hunger or entertains any projects as regards the other nations of the Western Hemisphere save such as are for their welfare. All that this country desires is to see the neighboring countries stable, orderly, and prosperous. Any country whose people conduct themselves well can count upon our hearty friendship. The transformation in military thought towards employment of forces across multi domain operations battlespace is based on the current threats
