As seen through her high school transcript, Troytoria is an intelligent and focused
student. What you are not able to view through her academic transcript is her
extensive extracurricular and volunteer activities that have made her into the student

In a quest to explore Christianity, Marshall Petersen began visiting the Sunday
school with the encouragement of his wife. I am his Sunday school teacher and
upon further communication, I informed him of the high antioxidant qualities of
the Muscadine grapes my family s produce company sells, and I asked him if he
might be interested in promoting either the grapes themselves or the various
products developed using their seeds. He was interested. The grapes became a hot
commodity and over six months, he paid for orders and delivery has been prompt,
and no issues about payments even though they can be 15 to 30 days late. During
one of the deliveries, Marshall made my son signed a contract that includes a
guaranteed price schedule consistent with what he had been paying. Marshall told
him that it was just a formality to guarantee a continuing business relationship. The
signing of that contract established a formal business agreement between the two
companies. Our business transactions were running perfectly, we were trying to
meet the demand for our product, and until recently when a company in Texas
offered to pay me twice the going rate for my products. I informed Marshall as I
don t want to leave him out to dry. He was very angry and he told me that he
expects me to continue to supply him with all the product he needs, when he needs
it, and at the prices he had always paid, per the requirements contract between our
businesses and in accordance with an implied duty of

Abstract
In the late evening of March 3rd 2002, through to the evening of March 4th 2002,
Special
Operation Forces were engaged in an intense fire fight with al Qaeda forces on a
mountain top known as Takur Ghar. This battle was the product of a botched
reconnaissance insertion and ultimately resulted in a 24 hour fire fight and the
deaths of 7 U.S. service members and over 200 al Qaeda fighters. Navy SEAL, Neil
C. Roberts is believed to be the first U.S. casualty of this battle and thus, the battle
also became unofficially known as Roberts Ridge (1).

The ramp gunner was tethered to the aircraft and was retrieved back inside by the
remaining passengers. Roberts fell from the aircraft and was believed to still be
alive as the aircraft was only 10 feet off of the ground at the time it came under fire.
The helicopter was forced to crash land in the valley and now was 7 kilometers away
from the mountain top. Roberts was now completely alone amongst an overwhelming
enemy force and it is believed that he fought in place until he was eventually over run
by the enemy (3).
The downed SEALs were picked up by RAZOR 04 and at 0500, again attempted to
reinsert at Roberts last known position. Now they were only a team of 5 with the
addition of Air
Force CCT Chapman. The aircraft was able to insert the team but again came under
heavy fire and was also rendered mission incapable and had to fly back to its origin
due to the damage that it sustained. The team moved to the high ground of the
mountain engaging and killing 2 combatants, they then realized that they were
standing in the middle of multiple bunkers as they came under heavy cross fire from
only 20 meters away. Acoording to the official report,
Chapman was fatally wounded almost immediately and 2 others would also become
wounded as they attempted to break contact. An AC 130 was able to provide
covering fire and enabled the
SEALS to disengage. Wounded and

The Importance Of Globalization
Introduction
Globalization continues to dominate conversation and research as a globally
influential trend. Identities influence how people interact with the world, including
policy and conflict; seeing the impact globalization has will be beneficial. Existing
literature looks at the interaction globalization has with ethnic conflicts, and some
identities, but most tend to aggregate a multidimensional term into one measure.
This research finds and evaluates the connection between globalization and saliency
of national identities by disaggregating globalization to find the most interactive
component: human migration, technological/communicative, or economic
globalization. Disaggregating globalization is necessary to see separate ramifications
on saliency of national identities. Finally, this research addresses a divergence in
literature over whether national identity or global identity is growing more important
with globalization. Literature Review Globalization
Globalization is an expanding, vague term that constantly crosses disciplines.
Integral to economics, sociology, psychology, and political science, the term is not
rigid, with definitions and uses ranging in department, creating a puzzle within the
term. Scholars agree that it is a process that crosses country borders through the
sharing and flow of goods, services, economics, culture, technology, and more
(Guillen, 2001; Held et al, 1999; Castells, 1996; Kobrin, 1997; Gilpin, 1987). I look at

the number of casualties caused by unsanitary water will significantly drop. The
purpose of this document is to inform the reader about the essentials of water

processes. According to the UN, more than 2.5 billion people worldwide don t

that is dying off because of this problem. By purifying the water and making potable

The third article I researched took a different approach on water purification. Rather
than making giant desalination plants to make clean water, this article talked about
how we can chemically treat individual bottles of water easily to get rid of bacteria
with iodine or chlorine tablets. However, this method of purification is extremely
inefficient for many reasons. You cannot mask the taste of iodine or chlorine.
Furthermore, no type of chemical will be able to get rid of organic matter, so if
the water is from a pond or lake, you will need to carry around a filter to get rid of
it. Even though this process is good for people who need clean water on the go and
instantaneously, it is not a reliable way to get rid of the world problem of
unsanitary water. The next article takes a similar approach about water purification
since it targets individual small bodies of water. An ultraviolet lamp eliminates all
types of bacteria and dirt, ensuring clean and pure water. The only problem with this
is that it leaves only distilled water, which is water that is drained of all its minerals;
this makes distilled water not suitable for drinking. In a water purification system
designed by Labconco makes the water go through three stages of purification. First,
it goes through a prefilter that removes anything bigger than 5 micrometers. Then a

Colorado. Shortly after receiving her Ph.D. in physics from the University of
Chicago in 1942, Hall became a research assistant at the Chicago Metallurgical

patient s thigh and some parts of the mid section of the body. Both white cloth
covers the entire top half of the patient and much of the surgeon is in close
proximity with the patient s body. In the Agnew Clinic, you are allowed to see that
the patient is in fact a woman patient and are allowed to see her facial expressions
and bare midsection of the body exposing the breasts of the female. This sharp
transition in painting style undoubtedly caused large amounts of unrest with the
public. In today s surgery, the surgeons only encounter the part of the body that is
hurt, as in The Gross Clinic; the rest of the body is covered up taking the human
aspect out of the patient. This may be a good thing, as surgeons may perform better
without seeing the face of the individual on which they are working. Although the
Agnew clinic allows the interpreter to visualize the procedure it also allows the view
to compare between the two paintings to analyze the changes in medical
The Delian League Essay
Explain the methods used by the Athenians to transform the Delian League into the
Athenian Empire. (25 marks) There is certainty no evidence to suggest that the
Athenians had any long term plans, in the years 479 470 BC, to change the Delian
League into an empire, although from the beginning the potential to develop into an
imperial power were there. Because from the beginning, Athens had considerable
power as she was the permanent hegemon. The most important aspects involving the
transformation of League into empire was the changing relationships between Athens
and her allies, Periclesʼ imperial policy, Athensʼ selfish self interest in gaining
more power by using the LeagueКјs power and establishing laws onto her allies such

The establishments of cleruchies had cause much resentment from other Greek states
towards Athens. According to Plutarch, this system had relieve the city of a large
number of idlers and agitators and raise the standards of the poorest classes , but at
the same time it implanted amongst the allies a healthy fear of rebellion . It also
allowed Athens to gain more numbers of hoplites, as only Athenian men with money
can become a hoplite soldier. This had increased the military force in Athens and had
strengthened AthensКј hold on her empire, as they were located at strategic points in
the Aegean. The worsening relationship between AthensКј and her allies in the
League is due to Athensʼ selfish self interest in developing her imperial power,
and this had allow Athens to gradually grow into an empire. This selfish self
interest can be seen after the Peace of Callias. At п¬Ѓrst the aim of the League was,
according to Thucydides, К»to compensate themselves for their losses by ravaging
the territory of the King of PersiaКј, but in 449 BC Persian lost the battle against
Cimon in Cyprus and signed a peace treaty called К»Peace of CalliasКј. Although
this meant that the Leagueʼs aim had been fulfilled, the Athenians argued that the
Persians would strike again if the Greeks appeared weak. This argument from Athens
had an underlying aim, that was so the Greeks states would not leave

An Example Of Being Naked In Public From Modern Pop-
Culture
Hi all, I m a dog, so I will talk about few examples of being naked in public from
modern pop culture. In the story The emperor s new clothes , the king walked out
without any clothes at the end of the story in front of the public because two rascals
sell an invisible suit of clothes that only smart people can see to the king. Since the
king and all the helpers around do not want to admit they are not smart enough to see
the cloth, the king walked out naked with his servants walked behind him with their
hands raised to hold the imaginary mantle. I think this would be an example that a
humorous character (the king) gets his comeuppance (walking naked in front of the
public) because of his hypocrisy. Another one I can think of is the
Selection of an Appropriate Investment Plan
Investments the company will engage will consist only of investments with high
moral and ethical character. The management, after a thorough investigation of their
background and subsequent accolades should be of the highest standard of integrity.
Any form of misconduct or misdeeds in the recent past will disqualify the company
from investment. Through social investments, the company can increase resources
dedicated to the overall socially conscious initiative and create ways by which the
same money can be reinvested over and over again. Below are three categories which
should help in assisting the selection of socially responsible investments. Program
related investments: Investments that support charitable purposes aligned with the
company s mission statement. Program related investments form many companies
are generally structured as loans, loan guarantees, or equity investments. Mission
related deposits: Deposits made to federally insured depository institutions including
traditional banks, community development financial institutions, and credit unions.
This is similar in concept to basic consumer banking of check and savings accounts.
These deposits are used primarily for socially conscious issues that require immediate
funding. They are generally structured as insured certificates of deposit or share
certificates. Mission related investments: Investments that are intended to generate
market rates of return but have a social benefit as well. Every recession

Government of people, by people and for the people is called democracy ,
(Aristotle) the Greek or more precisely Aristotle defined democracy this way. In
these recent times though, democracy has changed in shape and form and has
constantly evolved since the last 100 years or so. So it is quite difficult to find a
definition of democracyin modern times, which is accepted universally. Every
country delineates democracy according to its own customs and ethics, and
considers it to be best. A common credence is that, a country prerequisites
democracy in order to prosper, but we have not got any subsequent evident between
democracy and GDP progression. Under developed countries in Asia, South America

They are just concerned with getting meal on their table and economic stability;
they do not care where these things come from. Democracy has not worked for
common man, instead of alleviating his problems it has increased his financial
worries. In every democracy his life is more miserable than before. In democracy
poor hold more power than rich, because they are more in numbers. But this is not
the case in under developed countries, where rich dominate poor. As Aristotle said,
In a democracy the poor will have more power than the rich, because there are more
of them, and the will of the majority is supreme. (Aristotle). Poor just concede to
rich will because he thinks rich can get rid of his problems, but his troubles only
increase as time passes by.
Illiteracy hinders democracy in developing countries. Countries like Pakistan,
India, Africa and Nigeria have a little literacy rate. People are not able to choose
right representatives for them, and are bewitched by the sweet talk of politicians.
People cannot safe guard their rights and end up electing corrupt politicians. In this
turmoil, you cannot afford to have even one voter who is ignorant of his rights and
choices he makes, as John F Kennedy said, The ignorance of one voter in a
democracy impairs the security of all. (John F Kennedy, 1963)
There is lack of evidence pertaining to the discussion between democracy and
Baby Boomers And Baby Boomers
Baby boomers and millennials, are they oil water or two peas in a pod? There
have been large shifts in society and culture between when the baby boomers were
born (1946 1964) and when the millennials were born (1981 1996). There are many
factors that have influenced and molded each of these two generations such as
technology, trends, debt and economy. Who exactly are millennials and baby
boomers? What I know emphatically is that they both have strong opinions of one
another. The Baby Boomers were promised the American Dream; they worked hard
and are perceived as greedy and ambitious. Baby Boomers are Perhaps the most

Only 24% of Baby Boomers are confident they will have enough savings to last
throughout retirement, down from 36% in 2012. (Frankel) This is the reason
more Baby Boomers are working longer before retiring. At the same time the
Millennials were growing up through the recession, acquired student loan debt and
were entering a very competitive job market. Robin Lewis captured this reality
through this quote. This is a generation that is bigger than the boomers in
population, but their wallets are smaller, and they are more into the style of life
than the stuff of life. This backs up a study conducted by Bank of America Merrill
Lynch that shows A whopping 82% of millennials are investing in a retirement
savings account and 75% of the baby boom generation does so. (Abrams) The main
reason for this pattern is the Millennials are investing in retirement accounts at work
many of which have matching programs and Baby Boomers are skitish of the
market and losing more of thier retirement. If there is one place these generations
are struggling is working together. Baby Boomers are extremely hardworking,
competitive and workaholics, working 50+ hours a week. They made sacrifices to
achieve professional accomplishments and further their careers. At work Millenials
have a sense of empowerment, are ambitious and feel somewhat entitled, after all that
is how they grew up. They are

My Reflection On Graceling
My Reflection on Graceling
I was really excited when people told me there was romance, action, and adventure
because they re my favorite genres. But, I was disappointed when I read the first
page. It s 3rd person limited. I thought it would be a little harder to connect with the
characters. However, as I kept rereading some lines and questioning the characters, it
became easier for me to understand them. For example, Katsa, the main character of
Graceling, written by Kristin Cashmore, musters up her courage to defy Randa
because she could no longer tolerate him even though she was afraid to imagine what
would happen next. Randa wanted others to fear him and to do that, he had Katsa
torture people who didn t listen to his orders. According to Susan Fisk, empathy for
another s happiness and suffering depends fundamentally on recognizing that the
other has a mind that is, the same capacities for thought, emotion, desire, intention,
and self awareness as ourselves. I empathize with Bitterblue as she is strong facing
hardships throughout the book.
Bitterblue s father is a villain who enjoys torturing others, but her courage still
remains. Leck s grace allows him to manipulate people with his voice and the
people who hears it, spreads it. He has the option to ask, but he prefers to do it with
his grace instead as he finds it more amusing and hides his grace with an eyepatch.
That way, others would not suspect that he is a Graceling. My father isn t like that.
But, I am able to understand that others would find Bitterblue s emotions aren t
ordinary. What would Leck have her do when he controls her? Would he make her kill
her loved ones? What if he did that to you and if he was your father? Having
someone take control of your mind is absolutely terrifying. Of course she would be
scared too. But would fear take over her mind? No. As Leck controls Bitterblue,
Asher, and his whole kingdom, I wonder what his purpose is, He s the king of
Monsea yet he needs to control them all mentally too. Perhaps he wants to take over
the world. Although he controlled Bitterblue and her mom multiple times, they found
out a remedy to snap out of it which was by reminding each other. Whenever she
saw her mom s scars, she would be able

such as, interviews, personality tests, ability tests, assessment centers, physical tests

This method can tell job analysts about the nature and traits of a person. Research
showed that a person who has an introvert behavior will perform low in customer
services position, and a person who is an extrovert will perform better in a
customer services position (Barrick Mount, 1991). It is fair to say that Gilland
Moore Winery must look for extrovert individuals to fill for the sales positions. An
individual who possesses a higher degree of extroversion may then be more
energetic in a social situation than an individual with a low degree of extraversion.
The meta analysis conducted by Barrick and Mount (1991), indicates that the valid
predictor of work related performance is conscientiousness. They also viewed that in
some individuals; the emotional stability and extraversion appeared to be valid
predictors of work related performance. Therefore, suggesting Gilliand Moore
Winery to conduct personality testing in employee selection can be quite valuable,
for this can guide in organizational decision making. Validity and Reliability of
Selection Tools In the selection process, job analyst must ensure that certain
information gathered were reliable and valid. The most obvious standard for
evaluating hiring tools is accuracy, or how well the procedure actually measures the
job related attributes the job analysts are looking for in applicants. In the context

The Keto Diet And How It Affects The Body
The keto diet is a diet that specializes in burning fat. The way it works is when you
only take in fats then your body will be forced to burn the fat instead of carbs. My
brother has been doing this diet for almost a year now and has lost a bunch of
weight because of it. Some food that are in the restrictions include cheeses, red
meats, vegetables, and some fruit that don t have a lot of sugars. This diet has many
uses and is a very interesting thing to study. Ketosis is a metabolic state in which the
liver produces ketone.
When it comes to energy production, fat is actually required. Fatty acids are broken
down by the liver to beta hydroxybutyrate and acetoacetate. When it comes down to

John White Tortoise
The above picture that of a male tortoise, showed a glimpse of what the New World
would bring. John White, the artist, created the painting in Virginia, 1585. The
picture, known, as a loggerhead in early America day, what we in present day; call
turtles (or tortoises). The information I have found said that the tortoises had heads,
tails and feet that were very ugly, like those of a venomous serpent (Harriot).
Presently, these animals have similar features to that that White painted so long ago.

John White, the artist, also created this painting in 1585. It represents what
Europeans first saw when they came over and came face to face with the people

An Analysis Of Edgar Allan Poe s Cask Of Amontillado
A symbol in literature is described as a person, place, thing, or event that
figuratively represents or stands for something else (Mays, A12). In the short story
Cask of Amontillado, Edgar Allan Poe uses symbolism to establish the true meaning
of revenge behind this story. In short, this story is based upon an act of revenge
carried out by Montresor over Fortunato. Montresor lures Fortunato into the
catacombs of the Montresors where he carries out his plan of revenge by ultimately
killing Fortunato (Poe, 109). The incorporation of precise decisions on the title, the
characters names and the settings illustrates the profound use of symbolism in Poe s
short story.
To begin, one major symbol incorporated in the Cask of Amontillado is the title
itself. The literal meaning of the title means a casket of wine. Montresor uses
Fortunato s love for wine as an excuse to lure him into his family s catacombs.
Therefore, it can be said that Montresor uses the amontillado as the main contributor
for helping him carry out his revenge. For Montresor, this saying can be used as
symbol to mark his freedom. Throughout the story, he is trying to free himself from
his desire to take revenge on Fortunato. This is revealed when Montresor states, THE
thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured
upon insult I vowed revenge. He continued vouching his commitment of taking
revenge over Fortunato by saying, At length I would be avenged; this was a point
The Philosohpy of Immanuel Kant
Immanuel Kant is referred to as the father of deontological ethics, which is also
colloquially referred to as Kantianism, which provides a sophisticated explication
of deontology. His philosophy embodies capitulating to one s maxim, which he
beliefs that to be good, however, only if one s motives are unconditional and
irrespective to external reason. The maxim is referred to as the individual s intrinsic
duty or obligation to one s self or to others, which if applicable to everyone than it is
congenial to the universal law. John Stuart Mill is an advocate of the utilitarian

Mill believes in the praxis of pleasure to accumulate the zenith of happiness, but with
the absent of pain. Motivation is irrelevant when regarding morality, because the
result of one s actions determines the morality, which is why utilitarianism is often
referred to as consequentialism. This philosophy is synonymous to a democracy in
the sense that the majority hold the moral weight, One should act so as to promote
the greatest happiness to the greatest number of those who will be affected by the act.
There are two parts which constitute pleasure by mills standards, intellectual and
bodily. Bodily pleasures are those that are stimulating to animals, because it does not
involve the intellect. Humans, however, have facilities that are more evolved than
that of nonhumans, so the intellectual pleasures are more appealing to humans.
Intellectual pleasures are of more value than bodily. He compares the stimulation
from the intellectual pleasures to that of an ethereal plant, meaning that one can
easily adulterate the culmination of the aesthetic appreciation, due to societal

The Book Of Genesis Essay
In The Book Of Genesis, Chapter 1, God creates night and day(1:3 5) and separates
the ocean from the sky(1:6 7). He provides the essentials for every living thing to
thrive on Earth (water, air, and food). In Chapter 2, God created man out of dust
and woman out of the rib of the man, He gave them one rule which was not to eat
of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The woman, Eve, disobeyed, when
lured by a snake to eat the fruit and was convinced it was harmless. She offered some
fruit to the man, Adam, and he took it and ate it(3:1 6). The question I will ask in my
essay will be as follows: The creation account begins and ends in Chapter 1. In
Chapter 2, the creation account virtually begins again. Why is this? What is going
on? After Godlet Adam and Eveconfess that they had eaten the fruit, he gave them
their punishments. For man he said Cursed is the ground because of you! (3:17),
growing crops and maintaining them will demand an intense amount of labor. He
continued by saying For you are dust and to dust you shall return (3:19), this
statement hints that before they ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
humans were immortal which meant that they could live forever. When God says
...and to dust you shall return. , he is saying... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In Chapter 2, God stated that we shall return to dust the substance from which we
were created. From this text, we can infer that before the fruit was eaten humans
were immortal. God s plans in Chapter 1 had changed when the fruit, affected the
man and woman mentally. Before they ate of the fruit they did not know the
difference between good and evil and lived life happily even when they were naked.
After they ate of the fruit they knew the difference between good and evil and were
ashamed of their naked body. Therefore, life on Earth virtually changed mentally and

The Events Leading Up Of The World s Most Experienced...
May 10, 1996 will be remembered as one of the most tragic and unforeseen days in
the history of mountain climbing as five people, including two of the world s most
experienced climbers, lost their lives. Analyzing the events leading up to and
including the climb and descent reveal poor leadership and flawed decision making
as the root cause of a team being assembled that was not adequate for climbing the
mountain.Ascending Mount Everestrequires both physical stamina and mental
toughness. It is not a feat that everyone can achieve. There were several people in
both Rob Hall and Scott Fischer s groups who had little to no experience in high
altitude climbing, but were still selected to join the expedition. They were selected

One part of the strategy in order to complete the mission seemed fairly clear:
everyone must be physically fit and have some experience climbing at high
altitudes or else they will not be able to adapt to the challenges of scaling Everest.
Even Rob Hall, Fischer s counterpart, said that he could only get people who are
reasonably fit, up the mountain. While the definition of reasonably fit is not clear, it
is apparent that Dale Kruse, who had a history of becoming sick at high altitudes,
and Klev Schoening, who did not have a great deal of high altitude experience, were
not qualified.
As the leader of the expedition, it is Scott Fischer s responsibility to adhere to a
strategy that would put the group in the best position to achieve the overall
mission. His overconfidence caused him to stray away from assembling the best
suited clients. By allowing clients who did not have the physical fitness or
adequate experience to join the team, he failed one of the functions of a successful
leader: to decide upon and adhere to a strategy that would lead to the successful
completion of the mission. Failure to adhere to a strategy causes a team to have a
tougher path to success, which was clearly the case with Fishcher s expedition. An
effective leader would have had strict guidelines regarding fitness and experience that
each client must meet before they are allowed to join

side. The Undertaker s story is a very sad one where the law failed him and he goes
to the Don to deal with this issue. The Don says he will help the Undertaker with
his daughter s attempted rapists and victimizers, but not the way the undertaker

the Don to kill the attackers, but the Don will not go that far because the Undertaker
still has his daughter. Don Corleone shows this later when ending family wars. Now

Choosing A Smart Property Purchase
Choosing where to purchase properties is an important decision. You might be buying
your first home or a home to rent out as an investment property. The fact is, everyone
has different needs.
Affordability, accessibility to public transport, and proximity to schools can all have a
big impact on the value of a potential investment property. If you re looking for your
dream home, the criteria can be even more personal.
Knowing how to make a smart property purchase decision can seem overwhelming,
so it s important to understand the basics.
What is your personal situation?
Identifying the factors that are important to you is a good place to start. Ask yourself
what you need the property to achieve for you. Then, see if the property ticks all
those important boxes. Knowing whether you need an investment that is cash flow
positive, or if you can sustain an investment property that might build some long term
capital gain, is a good basis for your decision making.
If your plan is to renovate for capital gain, then that off the plan property might not be
the right investment for you. Also, before you think about buying in a regional
location, look at the industries that are integral to the region and consider how secure
those industries are. There are no guarantees in life and if your personal finances can t
withstand a downturn, then that location may not be the best choice for you. How
much you can actually afford to borrow is another important factor. Talk to a trusted

Effective Communication As A Health Care Professional
Communication is about more than just exchanging information. It s about
understanding the emotion and intentions behind the information. Effective
communication is how you convey a message so that it is received and understood by
someone in exactly the way you intended (L. Robinson, J. Segal, Ph. D., M. Smith.
2015). This paper looks at the requirements of effective communication as a health
care professional and the essential concepts to have as a registered nurse. Effective
communication assists with many circumstances in clinical situations. Arnold,
Boggs, Barraclough, Levett Jones and Grover have discussed that different
communication styles can be used to create stronger therapeutic relationships. Ideas
supporting this argument are the effects of establishing a strong client nurse
relationship and understanding the bridges to help construct and build a therapeutic
relationship. Effective communication benefits us to enhance our understanding of a
person. Determining the appropriate communication style to be used enables us, as a
health care professional to resolve differences, build respect and trust, and be key in
producing environments in which problem solving, creating ideas and caring can
flourish. A therapeutic relationship is professional, interpersonal alliance in which the
nurse and client join together for a defined period to achieve health related treatment
goals (Arnold and Boggs, 2011 p. 38). The authors evaluate basic communication
concepts and how

Wrongful Loss In Court Cases
Dealing with the unexpected loss of a family member is a difficult event for
anyone to take. When that death is caused by a third party, it complicates the
situation and amplifies the pain for those left behind due to the knowledge that the
loss did not have to happen. In many cases, loved ones of the deceased are able to file
a wrongful deathlawsuit against whomever was responsible. While this does not by
any means fill the emotional hole left behind in the person s absence, a win in court
does help with the monetary strain that occurs in the aftermath.
Families often have many questions in regards to the requirements of a wrongful
death lawsuit. Who can file? What constitutes as wrongful death? What types of
damages can be recovered? In this article, we will answer these questions and share
information to help you decide how to best move forward with your case. ... Show

A wrongful act typically involves careless behavior by the offender, but the act can
also be intentional. Some of the most common wrongful death cases include claims
of medical malpractice in which the practitioner either made a bad decision or simply
did nothing to prevent a death when action could still have been taken. Other cases
see lawsuits being brought against companies whose methods are blatantly negligent
and have caused deadly illness or injury, oftentimes to numerous people.
Wrongful death is generally similar to standard personal injury claims. In the
former, however, the injury has claimed the injured person s life so that he or she
could not bring the lawsuit to court on his or her own account. So instead, someone
else has to bring the case to court on the decedent s
Explain How Helen Keller Learned To Communicate
Yin and Yang is a popular symbol that shows that to reach greatness, one must have
balance. But to have balance, one must know that there is good in the bad and the
bad in the good. Everyone has or eventually will come face to face with something
that will bring hardships into their lives. When faced with adversity, one must
learn to live with it to overcome it. This may take time, or it may be instant. By
allowing people to help you, keeping a positive attitude, and accepting who you are,
people can overcome obstacles they are facing. With no doubt, people going through
something need to know there is nothing wrong with asking people for help. In the
text The Story of My Life and the video How Helen KellerLearned to Talk, they both
talked about how Helen Keller learned to communicate by allowing people to help
her. Helen Keller, despite her inability to see and hear, she managed to learn how
to communicate, but she first had to allow Ms. Sullivan to help her. When Helen
Keller was left with Ms. Sullivan, she at first refused to listen to Ms. Sullivan.
When she finally listened, she realized that Sullivan was doing and learned to
communicate. Also, in the text The Circuit, Panchito asked his teacher to help him,

This is an influential point for both book and movie because it has the effect of
showing how both mothers are in and out of their child s life but yet the father
reminds to keep everything together. Basing character tendencies on how the mothers
leave and the main character (father) with stay. Yet the movie does not detail this
information but is evident to the abandonment of his actual wife at one point in the
film. In the film, the wife leaves at the one hour mark (film time). The film keeps
their focus off the wife/mother to put more power in the struggle of Gardner s life
as a father. In contrast, the film The Pursuit of Happyness featured the bigger picture
of the actual story. More so the theme that Chris Gardner conveyed in the book. The
film goes from struggling married couple with a son, to a struggling single father
chasing the ultimate dream of successfulness. The difference from the book is that
Chris Gardner and his wife were together on and off. They struggle to make the
relationship work but have differences in what they want to pursue.
In the chapter Turned Out (advanced), the wife reappears after leaving the
relationship and they still continue having problems. While I had thought that my

Gap Year Advantages
A gap year between high school and college may just be the one thing students
need. It provides students with some time off of school, and by taking a break
from school, much of their stress and pressure is relieved. There are so many ways
to spend this extra year that students gain. The possibilities are endless. It gives
people time to gain new experiences. One could travel the world, or simply adjust to
a working lifestyle in their hometown. There are countless options to take advantage
of and this is simply for the people who are interested in gaining new experiences.
The gap yearalso provides students with some extra time to think about making
any changes to the decisions they have already took in regards to their future.
They are provided with time to ponder their future and career path. Most of all, it
gives them a much needed break from the strict schedule of school years. For a
year, they are given the freedom to do whatever they like and not worry about
studying or completing projects or handing in their essays by the deadline. There are
so many clear benefits to taking this well deserved break before you begin college. A
gap year after the four most stressful years of schooling should certainly be taken
advantage of because it gives a student the chance to have new experiences, it allows
one to contemplate and finalize their career path, and lastly it grants an opportunity
for a student to be relieved from the academic burnout and take a break from the rigid

The Character of King Richard III in William Shakespeare s Play
In my opinion Richard is definitely not a hero, he is nothing more than an immoral
villain. He is a cunning, callous and carefree murderer. However, for much of the
play the audience view him as a hero. Throughout my essay I aim to argue why
Richard is an immoral villain whilst contrasting why many may perceive him as a
hero.
For much of the play Richard may be seen as a hero. One reason for this is his
dramatic language. Shakespeare s use of long, fascinating monologues in which
Richard outlines his evil plans and thoughts are central to the audiences experiences
and impressions of Richard. Thus, enabling his manipulative ... Show more content on

For example, I am determined to prove a villain and About a prophecy which says
that G of Edward s heirs the murderer shall be. Dive, thoughts, down to my soul. Here
Clarence comes. the audience will still view him as a hero, because of the way he
hides his cunning and deceitful plans from others. By doing so we could question
whether Shakespeare is genuine, as he is wrongfully leads us to like Richard,
therefore allowing Richard to undeservedly become our hero for most of the play.
The fact that Shakespeare doesn t introduce the other characters also aids in him
becoming the hero. Moreover, because we are unaware of the other characters and
know nothing about them we have little concern regarding whether they are been
tricked or not.
Furthermore, Richard could be seen as a hero through his wooing of Anne. For
example he tries to explain his killing of Edward Your beauty was the cause of that
effect (1, 2, 125), whilst at the same time complementing Anne. He also mentions to
Anne Vouchsafe to wear this ring (1, 2, 205), which also suggests he wishes to

skills linguistically, as he tactically blames her for his sins but he does so by paying

established musicians, those with a loyal fan base, recognition isn t necessarily a
problem but for musicians attempting to make it , it is. There are a number of ways
in which a budding musician can increase their chances of gaining recognition and
one of the most common attempts comes in the form of the remix. Musicians,

In a classical music context the term recomposition is used, whereas remix is more
commonly used to within dance, electronic and hip hop factions. For some,
recomposition tends to suggest the musician is, for lack of a better word, composing
more and therefore, the material being their own, it has more artistic integrity and
substance. Is this always the case though? Remix seems to imply that the musician is
simply reusing the parts of a given piece and putting them back together in a
different way, a process which involves much less artistic endeavour. I feel that this
however, is not the case and it is my opinion that neither term, nor the procedures
associated with them, involves more or less artistic truth than the other. It is for this
reason that for the purposes of this essay the terms remix and recomposition are
considered synonyms. My reasons for this point will be summed up in argument later.
So, why when remixes are so common today, hundreds being released onto the
internet daily, would a musician risk releasing their work amongst the melange of
bad remixes? And why else, other than the reasons stated above, would someone
recompose or remix a piece at all? These are both questions I intend to answer in the

Definition Essay On Motherhood
By definition, motherhood or mothering represents the caregiving role and work of
female parents. For women carrying a child in their womb and then giving him or
her birth creates a lifelong bond that cannot be broken. The act of nurturing this little
human being strengthen this bond that is built on unconditional love. The mother s
love begins with the idea of having a child and extends through the further
physiological process of pregnancy, birth, feeding, and care. Further, mother s love
represents woman s feelings that her self love cannot be greater than her love for
her child. So, most of the mothers regard the task of motherhood as an honorable
task. Motherhood becomes a liberating process as it gives mothers the freedom to
love their

The Need for a National Missile Defense Program in the United States
Several hundred Soviet, nuclear tipped, ballistic missiles streak towards the United
States without any form of opposition or challenge to their impeding destruction. The
result of a situation like this would be no doubt disastrous, but it is a situation that
could very well take place if the United States does not install a national ballistic
missile defense program. An anti ballistic missile (ABM) system is a precaution that
the American government must pursue with all of its resources in order to protect
and preserve our society as we know it.
Really, what are the chances of another nation launching a ballistic missile attack on
the U.S.? Well, an attack may... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A calculated and combined attack could easily place nuclear ICBMs all over most
of the continental U.S.. Even when the Taepo Dong missile was tested on August
31, 1998 an Iranian delegation was flown to North Korea bringing with them an
entire plane load of telemetry equipment to monitor the test. Shortly after the test
the delegation returned to Iran with the full results of the test. The very test of the
North Korean Taepo Dong missile just goes to show how very clueless the United
States is as to the development of ICBMs by foreign countries. The CIA s national
intelligence officer for strategic and nuclear programs, Robert D. Walpole, admitted
that nobody in the intelligence community expected North Korea to develop an
ICBM capability so soon. Although the launch of the Taepo Dong 1 missile was
expected for some time, its use as a space launch vehicle with a third stage was not.
The existence of a third stage concerns us. We hadn t anticipated it. Debris from the
rocket s third stage was found some 3,500 miles from the site of the launch, showing
that North Korea has the ability to target Alaska and possibly America s west coast,
admitted Walpole. Clearly if you can put something into orbit, you get awfully
Analysis Of Three Sisters, The Time Span Of The Play
In Three Sisters, the time span of the play covers three years, starting from Irena s
20th birthday. At the start of the play, Irena was a cheerful, naГ
Їve dreamer. Even
though Irena is from an upper class family, her actions and words depicted her as
someone innocent and somewhat childish. Irena s fantasy about the life of the
working class made her very passionate about the concept of working from dawn to
dusk. She often wondered about the fulfillment of having a job, and disliked the
aristocrats meaningless lifestyle. Irena also adored the idea about being in love, she
believed that she will find her true love in Moscow. In fact, out of three Prozorova
sisters, Irena is most attached to Moscow. At the end of each act, she would state how
she missed her hometown dearly and wanted to return to her hometown.
The physical world of the play looks old and simplistic. The Prozorov household
looks grandiose but empty, the interior furniture and wallpaper are simple and
quaint. The emptiness of the house reflected the three sister s yearning for their
return to Moscow. Most of the furniture seen around the house, such as chairs and
tables, are made out of wood. A simple white laced tablecloth was placed over the
rectangular dinner table. Silverwares and cups were neatly placed in front of each
chairs as guests filed in the living room one by one. When guests entered the room,
they are greeted with candles from the chandelier as lunch was being prepared. The

Medea Essay
Euripides always expressed his point of views towards the culture of Ancient
Greeks, mostly hatred and enmity. However his safety was a major concern due to
the irrational behaviour of the ancient Greeks and his close friends and family
members. Thus he expressed his notions by giving speaking power to his characters.
Medeahas been given the same property. In Medea, Euripidesdiscusses exclusively
about the gender segregation and inequality. He criticises men for considering
themselves a dominant figure of the society. However this criticism is presented in
form of a tragedy which unfolds in the city of Corinth. Medea, a contrast of the
ancient Greek women, shows the empowerment and courage of women by executing
her own blood. After she was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This power provided her a strong base to plan for revenge from Jason. As mentioned,
her cruelty had no set boundaries and limitations. Thus she didn t hesitate to
continue with her cruel plan and murdered the princess in attempt to revenge
Jason. Executing her plan was a suicidal attempt and hence she managed to escape
due to her future planning. This symbolises the true ambition and desire of Medea
and her determination and so Euripides also conveys his ideology about women.
Medea, a distinct character conveys strong message across the audience and allows
them to reconsider the legal rights of women. Not in the modern era but in the
ancient times, recognition of women was a major dilemma for the society. Other
than that Euripides tries to justify Medea s evilness by providing reasons and by
letting Medea express her love for Jason. She chooses vengeance over law, this
doesn t only show the dignity of Medea, it also presents the deep emotions of hers
which conquered her mind and forced her to commit an unforgivable crime. After
all she did for Jason, she only asked for his loyalty and integrity. Upon Jason s
betrayal, Medea shattered into pieces as she trusted Jason and his moral values.
Jason s compelling behaviour turned Medea into an evil who later turns into a
murderer of the royal family and her own
Health Provision Of The United States
Around the world, many wealthy nations provide universal health care to their
citizens (excluding the USA). Countries like Canada, the UK and France are prime
examples. They provide well thought out services to their citizens and ensure them
to obtain the health care they require for any medical reason need be. While some
countries are grateful, or maybe even take for granted of the health care they
receive, undeveloped nations struggle to find the care they need. Health provision
is challenging in these countries due to political, economic and environmental
conditions. In order for a nation to live within environmental limits, they should
ensure they have a strong and healthy society, but in order to obtain such success a
sustainable economy plays a key role. Africa is a prime example to use when
discussing the environmental causes that affect one s health. Africa has a
widespread list of environmental impacts that considered it unsafe to numerous
living standards. Not only unsafe, but the citizens are prone to an abundance of
diseases such as Ebola. With a low economy, such as Africa, the finance to provide
health care and increase life expectancy does not exist. Hospitals also have trouble
finding properly trained and educated staff to be able to take care of all the people
requiring medical attention. Geographic s majorly affects people s health, but
economics is a priority when it comes to health care services. People who do not
receive the health care they required
Castle Crashers Essay
It s So Nice To See You Again!
Castle Crashers makes its debut on the Xbox One, but not in the backwards
compatibility sense that has been gaining traction lately. It s the same Castle
Crashers greatness but remastered with some added goodies. The visuals have been
enhanced, 60 FPS keep things going smoothly, online multiplayer isn t as much of a
drag as on Xbox 360, and there s a whole new game mode. Not only that, players will
be able to unlock special characters and animal orbs without having to pay for
additional content.
Group Hug!Group Hug!
Loyal fans of Castle Crashers that previously had the game on the 360 can get a
little special treatment. Up until September 21, everybody who purchased Castle
Crashers on their Xbox 360 can download Castle Crashers Remastered on Xbox

Castle Crashers is an arcade style Beat Em Up in which up to four players, locally
or online, can lay the absolute smackdown on some baddies in attempt to rescue
princesses and save the kingdom. Players will take control of a knight of their
choice, each equipped with their own magic abilities. One can poison foes, another
can shoot lightning, and one can shoot fireballs just to name a few of many
characters to be unlocked. It s addicting gameplay that rivals that of classic Beat Em
Ups like X Men Arcade or Streets of Rage.
Castle Crashers is riddled with humor and an all around sense of fun
lightheartedness that keeps the ride entertaining from start to finish. The game is
full of memorable moments. For example, a giant ear of corn will turn into
popcorn as you kick its butt. You can also ride on the back of a diarrhea propelled
deer to escape a terrifying fuzzy monster. A new oddity awaits around every corner.

Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Striker
RB Leipzig have surprised millions worldwide with their imperious performances in
the Bundesliga this season. Having only secured promotion to the German top flight
this season, the Die Bullen have taken the footballing world by storm and currently
sit in the 2nd spot, only 3 points behind League leaders Bayern Munich.
The side s rise to the top of the League table has been fuelled by their enthralling, yet
effective attacking performances (they are the 3rd highest goal scorers in the
Bundesliga thus far) and one man in particular has been shining bright for the club,
German attacker Timo Werner.
In this segment, we take a look at the style of play, strengths and weaknesses of the
Striker, who is soon establishing himself as one of the brightest prospects in European

His partnership with Poulsen has demonstrated his ability to link up excellently with
his attacking colleagues and the fact that he is amongst the top 5 creators in the
League for Leipzig goes on to add to his potential as a creative force.
Weaknesses
Passing is often deemed to be striker s worst attributes. Perhaps, it is the tight spaces
that they operate in or the fact that they are often being fed passes rather than being
the feeders that could cause it. However, Werner could be really awful with his
passing and has a tendency to infuriate his teammates and fans with his wayward
passing and below par crossing.
Another aspect of his game that needs improvement upon is his tendency to be
wayward with his runs off the ball. He can prove detrimental to his side s creative
play by venturing way too far beyond defenders and give in to the offside trap set up
by the opposition.
However, the player, who turns 21 soon, still has solid years of development ahead of
him as a footballer and we are sure with passage of time and extended playing time,
he will improve on these aspects of his
Foie Gras Ethical Differences
For us to understand foie gras ethicality better, I would like to tell you about the
anatomy of a duck or a goose which will produced for foie gras. The behavior of the
ducks is an intriguing part as their subjected to the foie gras production process. To us
humans the idea of shoving a long plastic tube down into our throat is a rather
uncomfortable one. The most importantly we must not compare the animalsto us, they
have an entirely different bodily functions and anatomy.
First of all let s think about the bird itself. Foie gras is commonly produced from
Moulard ducks. The Moulard are a special breed of which is created by a Muscovie
male and Pekin female. We must compare these different ducks to understand what
production process does to the bird and how it affects it s body. Firstly, let s analyze
the Muscovie duck. The Muscovie breed are especially tough. They are native from
South America. This might let people think that their natural habitat are ... Show more

Muscovie ducks have been reported to survive major climate changes and sub zero
conditions. This makes the bird also non migratory. In a farmers point of view this
means that they don t consume as much as migratory birds since they have no need
store excess fat for a long period without food. They are praised for their flavorful and
lean meat. Their sturdy nature and adaptability makes them ideal for farming.
Now about the Pekin. Pekin as the name may implicate are native from China.
They were breeded from wild mallards. Thus, Pekins will have all the natural
instincts of migratory bird. Interestingly, they are very social birds and will often
stand very close to each other, whether they have room to roam about free or not.
The following years specialized breeding have made their wing smaller and their
breasts plumper. Because of the breeding they can no longer fly nor jump very high.
But they still share the same innards and metabolism of an migratory
Early Sport Diversification Research
In regards to the development of young athletes, a controversial question exists;
will the path of early sport diversification or the path of early sport specialization
ultimately lead to greater sport expertise and elite performance? Specifically, what
effects can each pathway have on development of a child s physical fitness and
motor coordination as well as a young athletes career development? Stakes run high
for sports with limited scholarship availability and national team sports, so, when it
comes to athletes who are identified as talented at a young age, in many cases they
are pushed to specialize in that sportearly by parents with high expectations and
aggressive coaches eager for success. Early sport diversification begins with the...

al (2011) showed that significant differences existed between the two groups in the
development of their physical fitness and gross motor coordination. Initially, the
data showed that boys ages 10 12 that sampled multiple sports had significant
differences in strength, speed, agility, and gross motor coordination. There also
existed a positive correlation between the number of hours spent participating in
sports per week and its effect on performance. Boys who spent more hours per
week training did significantly better on the strength, flexibility, speed, agility,
cardiovascular endurance, and gross motor coordination tests among all age groups.
Advantages of this study include that it s ability to gather data from a large
population of boys from multiple age groups (6 12) and focuses on the basic
components of athletic development due to anthropometry, physical fitness, and
gross motor coordination. Unfortunately, the study failed to recognize if the
children who participated in multiple sports have better physical fitness and gross
motor coordination solely due to sport sampling. It is possible that better athletes
choose to participate in more sports. Fransen et. al (2011) concluded his study
finding that early diversification may lead to slower improvement in performance
than early specialization, but spending many hours per week in multiple sports
before the age of twelve exposes children to a broad range of physical, personal, and
Summary Of James Laxer s Tecumseh And Brock
Published for the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812, James Laxer s Tecumseh
Brock is a unique, if troubled, work of historical scholarship. The book approaches
the War of 1812 through the lens of two key leaders: British general Sir Isaac Brock
and leader of his allied native confederacy, Tecumseh. Laxer argues that Britain
avoided defeat in Canada by forming an alliance with Tecumsehs native confederacy,
since they shared the common enemy of the United States. Gathering this intuitively
from the text proves challenging, at best. The separate conflicts between Britain or
the Native Americans versus the US are portrayed as being personified by Tecumseh
and Sir Isaac Brock, respectively. Much of the author s critical thinking revolves
around the effects of the two men on history, as representatives of their conflict with
the United States.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The remainder of the book digresses from Laxer s main ideas, abandons any
semblance of support for the thesis, and serves simply as an inflated denouement to
the conclusion of the War of 1812. The final chapter of the book does little to
reinforce any argument, but rather discusses the nature of Tecumseh and Brock as
some kind of folk legends in Canada. With this in mind a reader must ask, is this a
dual biography? Is it a history of the War of 1812? Is the text simply a piece of anti
American sentiment penned for the bicentennial memorial of 1812 in Canada, as it
often reads? This lack of focus is the problem with Tecumseh Brock. Despite its
compelling nature the text falls short of its academic

  • 2. Troytoria Research Paper As seen through her high school transcript, Troytoria is an intelligent and focused student. What you are not able to view through her academic transcript is her extensive extracurricular and volunteer activities that have made her into the student she is today. Troytoria has not only excelled academically but also mentally and socially. She has taken out a great amount of time to dedicate to community service opportunities to assist her immediate community. She has done so through community outreach programs associated with the Dual Degree program at Georgia State University. She is also an impressive worker at her part time job at Taco Bell, where she serves as a cashier several hours during the week. Her volunteer opportunities through one... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Successfully maintaining an extensive class schedule at Georgia State University has enabled her to feel confident in a strenuous collegiate environment. Her consistent involvement on the Booker T. Washington High Schools marching/concert band, swim team and dance team has given her the opportunity to acknowledge her talents beyond the world of academia. Not to mention, Troytoria is a well written and spoken poet, she has been a past participant in the Omega Psi Phi Talent hunt competition and has recently paired with Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, and Morehouse College s Next Great American Poet Scholarship (NGAP). Through these organizations, she has been able to constantly develop her leadership skills and her ability to work independently as well as with a team. I wholeheartedly recommend Ms. Troytoria Wade for the Atlanta Neighborhood Choice Scholarship. Throughout my time teaching Troytoria, I have witnessed the depths she will go through to ensure her that her work and efforts are consistent and persistent, and am confident that she would be an exquisite

I am his Sunday school teacher and upon further communication, I informed him of the high antioxidant qualities of the Muscadine grapes my family s produce company sells, and I asked him if he might be interested in promoting either the grapes themselves or the various products developed using their seeds. He was interested. The grapes became a hot commodity and over six months, he paid for orders and delivery has been prompt, and no issues about payments even though they can be 15 to 30 days late. During one of the deliveries, Marshall made my son signed a contract that includes a guaranteed price schedule consistent with what he had been paying. Marshall told him that it was just a formality to guarantee a continuing business relationship. The signing of that contract established a formal business agreement between the two companies. Our business transactions were running perfectly, we were trying to meet the demand for our product, and until recently when a company in Texas offered to pay me twice the going rate for my products. I informed Marshall as I don t want to leave him out to dry. He was very angry and he told me that he expects me to continue to supply him with all the product he needs, when he needs it, and at the prices he had always paid, per the requirements contract between our businesses and in accordance with an implied duty of

Roberts was now completely alone amongst an overwhelming enemy force and it is believed that he fought in place until he was eventually over run by the enemy (3). The downed SEALs were picked up by RAZOR 04 and at 0500, again attempted to reinsert at Roberts last known position. Now they were only a team of 5 with the addition of Air Force CCT Chapman. • 6. The Importance Of Globalization Introduction Globalization continues to dominate conversation and research as a globally influential trend. Identities influence how people interact with the world, including policy and conflict; seeing the impact globalization has will be beneficial. Existing literature looks at the interaction globalization has with ethnic conflicts, and some identities, but most tend to aggregate a multidimensional term into one measure. This research finds and evaluates the connection between globalization and saliency of national identities by disaggregating globalization to find the most interactive component: human migration, technological/communicative, or economic globalization. Disaggregating globalization is necessary to see separate ramifications on saliency of national identities. Finally, this research addresses a divergence in literature over whether national identity or global identity is growing more important with globalization. Literature Review Globalization Globalization is an expanding, vague term that constantly crosses disciplines. Integral to economics, sociology, psychology, and political science, the term is not rigid, with definitions and uses ranging in department, creating a puzzle within the term. Scholars agree that it is a process that crosses country borders through the sharing and flow of goods, services, economics, culture, technology, and more (Guillen, 2001; Held et al, 1999; Castells, 1996; Kobrin, 1997; Gilpin, 1987). The Essentials Of Water Purification The Essentials of Water Purification The Essentials of Water Purification From Academic Journals Ammar Jaleel Plano Academy High School By making water purification processes more efficient, the number of casualties caused by unsanitary water will significantly drop. The purpose of this document is to inform the reader about the essentials of water purification; it is organized by the trend of the topic, typically by the types of processes. According to the UN, more than 2.5 billion people worldwide don t have access to a clean water source. That s more than 35% of the world s population that is dying off because of this problem. By purifying the water and making potable water, this problem will soon cease to exist. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The third article I researched took a different approach on water purification. Rather than making giant desalination plants to make clean water, this article talked about how we can chemically treat individual bottles of water easily to get rid of bacteria with iodine or chlorine tablets. However, this method of purification is extremely inefficient for many reasons. You cannot mask the taste of iodine or chlorine. Furthermore, no type of chemical will be able to get rid of organic matter, so if the water is from a pond or lake, you will need to carry around a filter to get rid of it. Even though this process is good for people who need clean water on the go and instantaneously, it is not a reliable way to get rid of the world problem of unsanitary water. The next article takes a similar approach about water purification since it targets individual small bodies of water. An ultraviolet lamp eliminates all types of bacteria and dirt, ensuring clean and pure water. The only problem with this is that it leaves only distilled water, which is water that is drained of all its minerals; this makes distilled water not suitable for drinking. In a water purification system designed by Labconco makes the water go through three stages of purification. First, it goes through a prefilter that removes anything bigger than 5 micrometers. Then a carbon

Shortly after receiving her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Chicago in 1942, Hall became a research assistant at the Chicago Metallurgical Laboratory. Her reputation like so many other determined female scientist of the time proved an excellent scientist and administrator earning her a position as a Senior Supervisor at Hanford less than a year later. In The Gross Clinic, the patient is completely covered up and you can only see the patient s thigh and some parts of the mid section of the body. Both white cloth covers the entire top half of the patient and much of the surgeon is in close proximity with the patient s body. In the Agnew Clinic, you are allowed to see that the patient is in fact a woman patient and are allowed to see her facial expressions and bare midsection of the body exposing the breasts of the female. This sharp transition in painting style undoubtedly caused large amounts of unrest with the public. In today s surgery, the surgeons only encounter the part of the body that is hurt, as in The Gross Clinic; the rest of the body is covered up taking the human aspect out of the patient. This may be a good thing, as surgeons may perform better without seeing the face of the individual on which they are working. Although the Agnew clinic allows the interpreter to visualize the procedure it also allows the view to compare between the two paintings to analyze the changes in medical
  • 9. The Delian League Essay Explain the methods used by the Athenians to transform the Delian League into the Athenian Empire. (25 marks) There is certainty no evidence to suggest that the Athenians had any long term plans, in the years 479 470 BC, to change the Delian League into an empire, although from the beginning the potential to develop into an imperial power were there. Because from the beginning, Athens had considerable power as she was the permanent hegemon. The most important aspects involving the transformation of League into empire was the changing relationships between Athens and her allies, PericlesКј imperial policy, AthensКј selп¬Ѓsh self interest in gaining more power by using the LeagueКјs power and establishing laws onto her allies such as the Coinage... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The establishments of cleruchies had cause much resentment from other Greek states towards Athens. According to Plutarch, this system had relieve the city of a large number of idlers and agitators and raise the standards of the poorest classes , but at the same time it implanted amongst the allies a healthy fear of rebellion . It also allowed Athens to gain more numbers of hoplites, as only Athenian men with money can become a hoplite soldier. This had increased the military force in Athens and had strengthened AthensКј hold on her empire, as they were located at strategic points in the Aegean. The worsening relationship between AthensКј and her allies in the League is due to AthensКј selп¬Ѓsh self interest in developing her imperial power, and this had allow Athens to gradually grow into an empire. This selп¬Ѓsh self interest can be seen after the Peace of Callias. At п¬Ѓrst the aim of the League was, according to Thucydides, К»to compensate themselves for their losses by ravaging the territory of the King of PersiaКј, but in 449 BC Persian lost the battle against Cimon in Cyprus and signed a peace treaty called К»Peace of CalliasКј. Although this meant that the LeagueКјs aim had been fulп¬Ѓlled, the Athenians argued that the Persians would strike again if the Greeks appeared weak. This argument from Athens had an underlying aim, that was so the Greeks states would not leave

  • 11. An Example Of Being Naked In Public From Modern Pop- Culture Hi all, I m a dog, so I will talk about few examples of being naked in public from modern pop culture. In the story The emperor s new clothes , the king walked out without any clothes at the end of the story in front of the public because two rascals sell an invisible suit of clothes that only smart people can see to the king. Since the king and all the helpers around do not want to admit they are not smart enough to see the cloth, the king walked out naked with his servants walked behind him with their hands raised to hold the imaginary mantle. I think this would be an example that a humorous character (the king) gets his comeuppance (walking naked in front of the public) because of his hypocrisy. Another one I can think of is the

The management, after a thorough investigation of their background and subsequent accolades should be of the highest standard of integrity. Through social investments, the company can increase resources dedicated to the overall socially conscious initiative and create ways by which the same money can be reinvested over and over again. In these recent times though, democracy has changed in shape and form and has constantly evolved since the last 100 years or so. So it is quite difficult to find a definition of democracyin modern times, which is accepted universally. Every country delineates democracy according to its own customs and ethics, and considers it to be best. Democracy has not worked for common man, instead of alleviating his problems it has increased his financial worries. In every democracy his life is more miserable than before. In democracy poor hold more power than rich, because they are more in numbers. But this is not the case in under developed countries, where rich dominate poor. As Aristotle said, In a democracy the poor will have more power than the rich, because there are more of them, and the will of the majority is supreme. (Aristotle). Poor just concede to rich will because he thinks rich can get rid of his problems, but his troubles only increase as time passes by. Illiteracy hinders democracy in developing countries. Countries like Pakistan, India, Africa and Nigeria have a little literacy rate. People are not able to choose right representatives for them, and are bewitched by the sweet talk of politicians. People cannot safe guard their rights and end up electing corrupt politicians. In this turmoil, you cannot afford to have even one voter who is ignorant of his rights and choices he makes, as John F Kennedy said, The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all. There are many factors that have influenced and molded each of these two generations such as technology, trends, debt and economy. Who exactly are millennials and baby boomers? At the same time the Millennials were growing up through the recession, acquired student loan debt and were entering a very competitive job market. Robin Lewis captured this reality through this quote. This is a generation that is bigger than the boomers in population, but their wallets are smaller, and they are more into the style of life than the stuff of life. This backs up a study conducted by Bank of America Merrill Lynch that shows A whopping 82% of millennials are investing in a retirement savings account and 75% of the baby boom generation does so. • 16. My Reflection On Graceling My Reflection on Graceling I was really excited when people told me there was romance, action, and adventure because they re my favorite genres. But, I was disappointed when I read the first page. It s 3rd person limited. I thought it would be a little harder to connect with the characters. However, as I kept rereading some lines and questioning the characters, it became easier for me to understand them. For example, Katsa, the main character of Graceling, written by Kristin Cashmore, musters up her courage to defy Randa because she could no longer tolerate him even though she was afraid to imagine what would happen next. Randa wanted others to fear him and to do that, he had Katsa torture people who didn t listen to his orders. According to Susan Fisk, empathy for another s happiness and suffering depends fundamentally on recognizing that the other has a mind that is, the same capacities for thought, emotion, desire, intention, and self awareness as ourselves. I empathize with Bitterblue as she is strong facing hardships throughout the book. Bitterblue s father is a villain who enjoys torturing others, but her courage still remains. Leck s grace allows him to manipulate people with his voice and the people who hears it, spreads it. He has the option to ask, but he prefers to do it with his grace instead as he finds it more amusing and hides his grace with an eyepatch. That way, others would not suspect that he is a Graceling. My father isn t like that. But, I am able to understand that others would find Bitterblue s emotions aren t ordinary. What would Leck have her do when he controls her? Would he make her kill her loved ones? What if he did that to you and if he was your father? Having someone take control of your mind is absolutely terrifying. Of course she would be scared too. But would fear take over her mind? No. As Leck controls Bitterblue, Asher, and his whole kingdom, I wonder what his purpose is, He s the king of Monsea yet he needs to control them all mentally too. Perhaps he wants to take over the world. Although he controlled Bitterblue and her mom multiple times, they found out a remedy to snap out of it which was by reminding each other. Whenever she saw her mom s scars, she would be able

It is fair to say that Gilland Moore Winery must look for extrovert individuals to fill for the sales positions. An individual who possesses a higher degree of extroversion may then be more energetic in a social situation than an individual with a low degree of extraversion. The meta analysis conducted by Barrick and Mount (1991), indicates that the valid predictor of work related performance is conscientiousness. They also viewed that in some individuals; the emotional stability and extraversion appeared to be valid predictors of work related performance. Therefore, suggesting Gilliand Moore Winery to conduct personality testing in employee selection can be quite valuable, for this can guide in organizational decision making. Validity and Reliability of Selection Tools In the selection process, job analyst must ensure that certain information gathered were reliable and valid. The most obvious standard for evaluating hiring tools is accuracy, or how well the procedure actually measures the job related attributes the job analysts are looking for in applicants. The Keto Diet And How It Affects The Body Essay Aidan McAllister Mrs. Willard Honors Bio 16 November 2016 The Keto Diet And How It Affects The Body The keto diet is a diet that specializes in burning fat. The way it works is when you only take in fats then your body will be forced to burn the fat instead of carbs. My brother has been doing this diet for almost a year now and has lost a bunch of weight because of it. Some food that are in the restrictions include cheeses, red meats, vegetables, and some fruit that don t have a lot of sugars. This diet has many uses and is a very interesting thing to study. Ketosis is a metabolic state in which the liver produces ketone. When it comes to energy production, fat is actually required. Fatty acids are broken down by the liver to beta hydroxybutyrate and acetoacetate. When it comes down to the krebs cycle, B OHB is brought into the mitochondria and is converted into acetoacetate which is broken down into acetoacetyl CoA. This is then further broken down into acetyl CoA and this is what is used in the Krebs cycle. When ketone bodies are added to the glucose in the Krebs cycle it increases the metabolic efficiency. A human can survive on fat way longer than a human can survive on glucose and protein. Although living completely without carbs is possible, a balance between carbs and fats eating more fats than carbs can increase your body s metabolic efficiency. Ketosis is a process that occurs within the body when a lack of carbs and an overflow of fats are

An Analysis Of Edgar Allan Poe s Cask Of Amontillado A symbol in literature is described as a person, place, thing, or event that figuratively represents or stands for something else (Mays, A12). In the short story Cask of Amontillado, Edgar Allan Poe uses symbolism to establish the true meaning of revenge behind this story. In short, this story is based upon an act of revenge carried out by Montresor over Fortunato. Montresor lures Fortunato into the catacombs of the Montresors where he carries out his plan of revenge by ultimately killing Fortunato (Poe, 109). The incorporation of precise decisions on the title, the characters names and the settings illustrates the profound use of symbolism in Poe s short story. To begin, one major symbol incorporated in the Cask of Amontillado is the title itself. The literal meaning of the title means a casket of wine. Montresor uses Fortunato s love for wine as an excuse to lure him into his family s catacombs. Therefore, it can be said that Montresor uses the amontillado as the main contributor for helping him carry out his revenge. For Montresor, this saying can be used as symbol to mark his freedom. Throughout the story, he is trying to free himself from his desire to take revenge on Fortunato. This is revealed when Montresor states, THE thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge. He continued vouching his commitment of taking revenge over Fortunato by saying, At length I would be avenged; this was a point

Even Rob Hall, Fischer s counterpart, said that he could only get people who are reasonably fit, up the mountain. While the definition of reasonably fit is not clear, it is apparent that Dale Kruse, who had a history of becoming sick at high altitudes, and Klev Schoening, who did not have a great deal of high altitude experience, were not qualified. As the leader of the expedition, it is Scott Fischer s responsibility to adhere to a strategy that would put the group in the best position to achieve the overall mission. The fact is, everyone has different needs. Affordability, accessibility to public transport, and proximity to schools can all have a big impact on the value of a potential investment property. If you re looking for your dream home, the criteria can be even more personal. Knowing how to make a smart property purchase decision can seem overwhelming, so it s important to understand the basics. What is your personal situation? Identifying the factors that are important to you is a good place to start. Ask yourself what you need the property to achieve for you. Then, see if the property ticks all those important boxes. Knowing whether you need an investment that is cash flow positive, or if you can sustain an investment property that might build some long term capital gain, is a good basis for your decision making. If your plan is to renovate for capital gain, then that off the plan property might not be the right investment for you. Also, before you think about buying in a regional location, look at the industries that are integral to the region and consider how secure those industries are. There are no guarantees in life and if your personal finances can t withstand a downturn, then that location may not be the best choice for you. How much you can actually afford to borrow is another important factor. Talk to a trusted mortgage

Effective communication is how you convey a message so that it is received and understood by someone in exactly the way you intended (L. Robinson, J. Segal, Ph. D., M. Smith. 2015). This paper looks at the requirements of effective communication as a health care professional and the essential concepts to have as a registered nurse. Effective communication assists with many circumstances in clinical situations. Arnold, Boggs, Barraclough, Levett Jones and Grover have discussed that different communication styles can be used to create stronger therapeutic relationships. Ideas supporting this argument are the effects of establishing a strong client nurse relationship and understanding the bridges to help construct and build a therapeutic relationship. Effective communication benefits us to enhance our understanding of a person. Determining the appropriate communication style to be used enables us, as a health care professional to resolve differences, build respect and trust, and be key in producing environments in which problem solving, creating ideas and caring can flourish. A therapeutic relationship is professional, interpersonal alliance in which the nurse and client join together for a defined period to achieve health related treatment goals (Arnold and Boggs, 2011 p. 38). But to have balance, one must know that there is good in the bad and the bad in the good. Everyone has or eventually will come face to face with something that will bring hardships into their lives. When faced with adversity, one must learn to live with it to overcome it. This may take time, or it may be instant. By allowing people to help you, keeping a positive attitude, and accepting who you are, people can overcome obstacles they are facing. With no doubt, people going through something need to know there is nothing wrong with asking people for help. In the text The Story of My Life and the video How Helen KellerLearned to Talk, they both talked about how Helen Keller learned to communicate by allowing people to help her. Throughout my essay I aim to argue why Richard is an immoral villain whilst contrasting why many may perceive him as a hero. For much of the play Richard may be seen as a hero. The fact that Shakespeare doesn t introduce the other characters also aids in him becoming the hero. Moreover, because we are unaware of the other characters and know nothing about them we have little concern regarding whether they are been tricked or not. For some, recomposition tends to suggest the musician is, for lack of a better word, composing more and therefore, the material being their own, it has more artistic integrity and substance. Is this always the case though? Remix seems to imply that the musician is simply reusing the parts of a given piece and putting them back together in a different way, a process which involves much less artistic endeavour. I feel that this however, is not the case and it is my opinion that neither term, nor the procedures associated with them, involves more or less artistic truth than the other. The book approaches the War of 1812 through the lens of two key leaders: British general Sir Isaac Brock and leader of his allied native confederacy, Tecumseh. Laxer argues that Britain avoided defeat in Canada by forming an alliance with Tecumsehs native confederacy, since they shared the common enemy of the United States. Gathering this intuitively from the text proves challenging, at best. The remainder of the book digresses from Laxer s main ideas, abandons any semblance of support for the thesis, and serves simply as an inflated denouement to the conclusion of the War of 1812. The final chapter of the book does little to reinforce any argument, but rather discusses the nature of Tecumseh and Brock as some kind of folk legends in Canada. With this in mind a reader must ask, is this a dual biography? Is it a history of the War of 1812? Is the text simply a piece of anti American sentiment penned for the bicentennial memorial of 1812 in Canada, as it often reads? This lack of focus is the problem with Tecumseh Brock. Despite its compelling nature the text falls short of its academic
