To begin with, delving into Hemingway's life requires a meticulous exploration of his
experiences, relationships, and the historical context that shaped his worldview. This involves
extensive research to understand the intricacies of his personal and professional life, as well as
the events that influenced his literary creations.
Furthermore, dissecting Hemingway's writing style demands a keen eye for detail and an
appreciation for his minimalist yet evocative prose. Analyzing his use of language, symbolism,
and narrative techniques adds another layer of complexity to the task. It necessitates a deep
understanding of literary theory and criticism to effectively articulate the nuances of
Hemingway's craft.

Summary Of Forget Prince Charming By Erin Pierce
The famous publicist and writer Erin Pierce, in her essay Forget Prince Charming
speaks about her past experiences with guys. The author Erin Pierce s purpose in
the essay is to convey the message that is waiting for prince charming can restrict
you from living your own life and achieving your goals. The author Erin Pierce
thesis is that there is no such as the perfect guy or prince charming and both people
in the relationship should spend equal or more time of their own goals than the
relationship and some effort needs to be put in by everyone involved in the
relationship to stay happy. This thesis is not explicitly shown and therefore is an
implicit thesis another example of this is when the author stated: if the idea of prince
charming holds true today. Pierces target audience is young... Show more content on

Erin Pierce just tells the audience to focus on their own goals and dreams instead of
just waiting for someone else to come and save you as just waiting for that your
whole life is a waste of time. The way the essay is organized makes it relatable to
the reader and also will make the reader think about their own future and how they
too will have wasted time when they could have been working on their own life
goals and attaining success. The author Erin Pierce also uses a range of devices
including allusion such as in the second paragraph the author talks about how
Cinderella was just saved from her stepmother by Prince Charming who is portrayed
as the Perfect Guy and this tells the audience that this is the kind of man they want
their own Prince Charming , After this Pierce proceeds to tell them that this kind of
relationship is unrealistic. Pierce then tells us her own personal experiences with her
own prince charming and how it did not work
Defense Mechanisms Have A Negative Effect On
Personality...
Hypothesis: Defense mechanisms have a negative effect on personality
development. My Initial Hypothesis In life, we encounter situations that we put
ourselves in and then need a way to not place the blame where it should be. Like,
failing a test and blaming the teacher when you know you didn t study. Or,
something happens to us that we aren t quite ready to accept. For example, not
getting a passing grade then ignoring it and not taking the proper steps like retaking
it. By behaving as if you didn t fail the class and not retaking it while you have time
can result in a possible additional semester of school so you could graduate. This
action represents defense mechanisms we may use to protect ourselves from. These
reactions to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of course, this can become unsafe because there could be some medical needs that
are not being met. Since defense mechanisms are unconscious, it is safe to assume
that they are a natural part of our development. In fact, denial is quite common in
preschoolers and as we develop as do our understanding of these defense
mechanisms so we replace the old ones with new mechanisms (Cramer, 1999). As
we advance the mechanisms we use become more complex like going from denial
to projection. Projection involved placing feelings about one situation on
someone or something also. This seems to be more complicated because they have
to know that we cannot express ourselves inappropriately to the initial issue and
find somewhere else where it may be more acceptable. Like, your parents making
you angry then, you being mean to your sibling even though it is not warranted.
While our ages increase and our defense mechanisms begin to adapt and the old
defenses aren t used as much as mention earlier. We now know that when the
childhood methods lie, denial and projection linger past their time psychopathology
can develop as time goes on (Cramer, 1999). Identification tends to come after
projection, which is after denial and it assists in helping to become more
independent and help to find who you are (Porerelli, Thomas, Hibbard, Cogan,
(1998). Separating yourself from your parents is a great part of life. Excepting and
embracing the fact that you are an
Classical Opera Comparison
The elements of Baroque opera are extremely different from the musical elements of
the Classical opera. Baroque opera is more elaborate and complex in comparison to
the balanced style of classical music. While there are many similarities between the
two, there are also a significant amount of differences. Baroqueoperamade use of
harmonic progressions and chord progressions, as well as basso continuo which
was less common in the classical era of opera. Baroque had a more pleasing sound,
while classical opera emphasized form, dynamics, and balance.
Baroque is extremely polyphonic and complex, which differs from the simplicity of
classical music. Vivaldi s The Four Seasons , specifically Spring is a very upbeat and
chaotic piece. The terraced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Basso continuo is relative only to the baroque era. In the classical era, basso continuo
was completely forgotten and the composers focused more on the melodic aspects of
music.
Classical music focused on the technical sides of music rather than the sound.
Classical is very structured and has one main melody with accompanied parts,
making it very simple music. Haydn s Symphony no. 94 is a great representation
of the structured and simple music that makes up the Classical era. Everyone plays
a similar and quite simple part, nothing differs too significantly and every
individual part is complimentary of the other parts. The lack of rhythm variety
among the various parts lead the piece to sound very well organized and put
together overall, because everything is very parallel. This differs vastly from the
musical styles of the Baroque era because it strays away form the polyphonic styles
associated with the Baroque era.
The renaissance era was most influential on opera. The middle ages was a productive
time in music. String instruments were invented and people began combining theatre
and music. Composers would try and create musical sequences to tell their stories,
otherwise known as the beginning of opera. But it was not

Critique Of Kant
Defining Kant s Critique of Pure Reason and its Relation to the Science of
Metaphysics
The understanding itself, in regard to representations and objects, is the paramount
focus of Immanuel Kant s (1724 1804), Critique of Pure Reason (1781/1787).
Although there is a manifold of philosophical definitions of what the critique of pure
reason is defined as, this essay will assist in alleviating the flux that occurs when
comprehending the meaning of Kant s, Critique of Pure Reason. After reading most
of Kant s critique, in relation to Metaphysics, the critique of pure reason is a way of
making that branch of philosophy a true possibility, then an actual science. An
argument can be made that one definition formulates a foundation for ... Show more

In order to fully comprehend what a court of justice is, the concept of indifferentism,
must be clearly defined. Kant states that indifferentism is, the mother of chaos and
night in the sciences, but at the same time, also the origin, or at least the prelude, of
their incipient transformations and enlightenment, when through ill applies effort
they have become obscure, confused, and useless (A x). Indifference is harming to
metaphysics because it allows people to ignore what they naturally compelled to
answer about representations, objects, and results. In summary, Kant s critique of
pure reason is a court of justice, which gives humanity the ability to determine and
separate the invalid flaws and falsities that are holding is an endless fate, from the
valid right rules and principles that help us answer metaphysical inquisitions. After
Kant defines the court of justice, he then introduces a new term that helps define a
critique of pure reason, a critique of the faculty of reason.
Kant offers another important definition in regard to a critique of pure reason in
which he uses the term a critique of the faculty of reason, which will be fully
defined in order to comprehend the next element of what a critique of pure reason is.
Kant defines critique of the faculty of reason in general, in respect of all the
cognitions after which reason might strive independently of all experience, and hence
the decision about the possibility or
LGBTQ Is A Social Problem
According to Mooney, social problem is a social condition that a segment of society
views as harmful to members of society and in need of remedy. There are many
social problems in our country, and one of them is the LGBTQ community and their
rights. The LGBTQ communities have been a social problem since long ago. They
face many problems and injustice that might include harassments and discrimination.
According to Subhrajit, LGBTQ people are very likely to be involved with prejudice,
harassment, and the danger of assault because their sexual orientation, than those who
identify themselves as heterosexual. Based on this I think LGBTQ is a social problem.
In the article History of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Social Movements ,
it talks about how there was pre history of LGBTQ. Most historians approve that there
is indication of homosexual pursuit and same sex love. The article states that we
recognize that homosexuality was in prehistoric Israel just because it is forbidden in
the Bible, whereas it succeeded amongst both men and women in Ancient Greece.
Significant evidence also exists for persons who were at least part of their lives as a
diverse gender than allocated at birth. The article shows that people have been
subjected to LGBTQ all throughout history. Yet, it is a sin, and some people are
again the notion that not all people are straight.
Bonnie Morris of George Washington University stated in and article that during June

main point how can we save it and use it in the right way. Around 65 70 % in this
earth is sea water and with it the raining water and well water. The water is use for
many factors in order to let the live work, but the problems are the using of the
water for human and animals. Nowadays, there are many ways that show us how to
use the water and save it in order to survive. In this day and age, it seems like bottled

heathy beverages. There are approximately 475 bottled of water plants in the U.S.,
producing 600 brands of bottled of water. It estimated that one six American
households use bottled of water as either the primary of water. In California alone,
residents consume over 33% of the bottled water that is sold. In this module, we
shall investigate the virtues of bottled water as well as its similarities and differences
with the water they get from their household faucet. There are three main points

Universal Healthcare Socialist
Does giving universal healthcare to its citizens make a country socialist? The answer
is no. why I am answering this question is that, this question is the one of the main
arguments against universal healthcare in America. Even though universal healthcare
is a characteristic of most socialist governments there are governments that are not
socialist but have universal health carefor example Australia, United Kingdom and
so on and so forth. Universal healthcare is a good idea because of its many benefits
and simplicity.
The origins of healthcare in the United States can be traced back to the 1900 s, the
heart of the progressive era (Health Insurance), and from that time period itself it has
been met with some serious opposition. The First time it was brought up the universal
health care reform got struck down because Germany had adopted a successful
universal healthcare plan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To them I simply respond by saying universal healthcare can be implemented in
many ways and has been implemented in many different European countries. Most
of these countries now have a healthcare system that is far less complex than
America s healthcare system. Those against universal health care may argue that
by taking away the choice of choosing healthcare providers people are essentially
losing a right. To that statement I respond by saying this government has a duty to
protect the welfare of its citizens and healthcare falls under the welfare of people so
let the government do its job and don t be an obstacle for progress. My opponents
on this issue may argue that healthcare is a privilege and not a right. To them I ask
this question if it is not a right then why do so many other developed nations have
universal healthcare? America is probably the only developed country that still doesn
t have a universal healthcare system that shows that universal healthcare should be a
right in developed countries not a
Great American Cities
In Jacob s book, The Death and Life of Great American Cities, the various ways
that city planning is being practiced incorrectly are explored. One problem that cities
are encountering is the decay of inner city areas that are forming slums . City
planners have been attempting to mend this problem by spending money on new low
income housing projects and developments. This tactic does not fix the problem of
high crime rates and low levels of education because these people stay in the same
area just in slightly better housing and still without proper education and
opportunities. Another reason why these problems do not improve is that planners
focus on how a cityshould look and not on the actual happenings in the real city. The

Extraction of Benzoic Acid Essay
Introduction
The purpose of this experiment is to practice common organic laboratory techniques
inside the lab to get one oriented to the basic methods of procedure that can be used
for later experiments. This experiment involves the separation of benzoic acid from
a more crude form, consisting of benzoic acid, methyl orange, a common acid/base
indicator, and cellulose, a natural polymer of glucose (Huston, and Liu 17 24). The
technique that is used to perform this separation is called extraction. Extraction is a
systematic process of separating mixtures of compounds, taking advantage of the
affinity differences of compounds to separate them (Padias 128 37). This technique
recognizes the principle that like dissolves in like, that is, ... Show more content on

These layers can be separated through the use of a seperatory funnel which drains the
bottom layer into a separate container. This method uses the understanding of
partition ratios of solutes to different paired solvents to produce an equilibrium
leaning towards one solvent over another, thereby extracting a compound from one
liquid to the other (Padias 128 37). For example, consider a mixture containing two
solutes, solute A and solute B, and two immiscible solvents, solvent A and solvent
B. If solute A dissolves well into solvent A, but not very well into solvent B, and
solute B dissolves well into solvent B but not very well into solvent A, there would
be a higher ratio of solute A in solvent A than in solvent B, and a higher ratio of
solute B into solvent B than in solvent A. One can then see that, through the use of
different solvents, two dissolved solutes can be separated from a mixture. This ratio
of a solute concentration to different solvents is defined by K, the distribution
constant. Successive filtrations yield s a higher percentage of products.
Chemically active extraction is a highly useful method of separating organic
compounds in mixtures (Padias 128 37). Organic acids and bases are soluble in
organic solvents, but their corresponding salts are soluble in water. Therefore, if one
had a mixture of an acidic organic compound and a basic organic compound in an
organic solvent, addition of a base
The Unreliable Narrator Of Montresor
As I read this story, there are many things to pick out about the narrator, Montresor.
We learn that this is his name finally at the end of the story when Fortunato says,
For the love of God, Montresor! From reading the story I could infer a few things
about Montresor. First, that he is a wealthy man with his servants that he has and a
large palazzo. As I noticed in the story that there are quite a few Latin and French
words used by Montresor, which could state that he is a very smart man. As
Montresor talks about his family in the story and speaks very highly of them, one
could infer that he and his family is very popular. As the story unfolds and I read on
I could really see that Montresor is an unreliable narrator. As he states right

The Art Institute Of Chicago
Next time you are walking through the Art Institute of Chicago I would highly
recommend a visit to the Gift of Edlis|Neeson Collection, located on the second
floor, gallery 292A. Here you will find a tantalizing array of modern day
contemporary art that delivers a sensory overload wherever you turn. Nestled in
between the copiousness of talent you will find three offerings from a prominent
living contemporary artist called Jasper Johnstitled Alphabet (1959), Figure 4
(1959), and Target (1961). Although at times his work faced rejection from the
critics of individualism of abstract expressionists his life s journey sculptured his
path to who he is as a person and who he has become as a modern day renowned
contemporary artist.
In 1958, gallery owner Leo Castelli discovered Johns while visiting the Rauschenberg
s studio. This was an important time in Johns art career as his style had started to
settle more into contemporary art due to his personal relationship with Robert
Rauschenberg. According to The Society for Contemporary Art Castelli gave him
his first solo show. It was here that Alfred Barr, the founding director of New York s
Museum of Modern Art, purchased four works from this show. In the latter part of
the 1950 s, Jasper Johns arose as the shinning star in the American art scene
(Wildfire Media 2015). His paintings of maps, flags, and targets led the artistic
community away from Abstract Expressionism toward a new emphasis of Neo Dada
and Pop Art. Today, as
Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde Symbolism
The Victorian period is apparent in the story largely because of the scientific
nature of the tale. Dr. Jekyll is a doctor who dabbles around with potion making,
spending much of his time in his laboratory. This supports the fact that England
had become a place of forward progress and scientific thinking. In the story, Jekyll
attempts to separate his two personalities by using a potion, and while speaking of
his two personalities he says, If each, I told myself, could but be housed in separate
identities, life would be relieved of all that was unbearable (Stevenson 2272). He
felt that if he could just split the two sides of himself, good and evil, into two distinct
people, then he could live a happier life without all the nonsense involved... Show

Moreover, the ability Stevenson had to make such things even possible for the
audience of this novel is quite talented and beautiful. When he describes ghastly
things, like the appearance of Hyde, and still finds a way to do so in a beautiful
way it is inspiring. Also, the way that the story places the reader in the midst of a
scene from the story is quite beautiful, like the part of the story where Utterson
describes his own easily liked nature, he says, Hosts loved to detain the dry lawyer,
when the light hearted and the loose tongued had already their foot on the threshold;
they liked to sit awhile in his unobtrusive company, practising for solitude, sobering
their minds in the man s rich silence after the expense and strain of gaiety (Stevenson
2249). It is the beauty of such things that contribute to the excellent quality of the
story itself. There was a reason that it was an instant best seller when published. It
connected to reader s lives and was written in a rather fantastic

asserts an exceptional point, Adnan is popular among the females in his school
and he most likely isn t completely devastated by their breakup. Although he was a

everyone I ve spoke with, Adnan s friends and teachers say he took the breakup

that he wasn t rage filled or vindictive. He was just sad (Episode 2: The Breakup p.

extreme between Adnan and Hae after their breakup. After analyzing these pieces

Micro Controller At Mega
Micro Controller AT Mega 328 In the area of control and automation, the need for
some processing unit became indispensable in a wide variety of applications. Among
these, microcontrollers stand as a lower cost alternative, satisfactory reliability,
simplicity, reduced consumption energy, however, with limited memory capacity and
processing.
A microcontroller contains a processor, memory access and peripheral input
/ output. It is a microprocessor that can be programmed for specific functions, in
contrast to other general purpose microprocessors (such as those used in PCs).
Basically, the use of a microcontroller is in the processing of data from one of your
peripherals, with the set of output data. For example, send data via serial port or
generate a reaction in system as an LED light.
The architecture of a microcontroller generally consists of a core processing, bus and
Peripherals:
Processing core consists of the data processor (calculations, flow control program,
etc.) and administration of peripherals.
Bus is divided into data and address, is on the lines of communication between the
processor and peripherals.
Peripherals characterize the set of features available by the microcontroller and are
controlled by the processor. For example, memory, serial port, parallel port and AD
converter.
Microcontrollers are typically used in automation and control products and
peripherals, such as control systems of automotive engines, remote controls,
machines, etc.

So, I said Yes, of course, I would love to! Before we went to find something too do

boats are taking them. While, we walking we found out the yellow raft is called a
banana boat. Which was extremely ironic. We laugh for at least ten minutes. It was
so hilarious. The banana boat was taking people to a bigger boat called the Captain. I
said, Can we go parasailing or just ride the Banana Boat? As a man started walking
up to us he said, Hi, my name is Seth. I work for the Banana Boat and parasailing

hot that it would burn your feet, which I never knew it got that way so when I
walked to the beach because it was in walking distance the ground got hotter as I
got on the sand I didn t know that there was burning sand. So when I finally found
my family when my little brother was throwing a fit because it was hot out and my
mom said you re not going to burst into flames.I went into the water running across
the burning sand, closing my eyes. And taking a deep breath and with a splash I
was completely submerged hot out. Other than the Beach we went to 3 buffets one
of which was a seafood buffet one was a Chinese one and I had sushi there my
favorite was the California roll which was a creamy, salty, spicy, and sweet all in
one bite which is a little bit of a struggle to comprehend but that s what I
Cellular Respiration Rate
This article synthesizes the effects of temperature on the rate of cellular respiration.
The method used employed the use of gas sensors and a respiration chamber to test
how different temperatures influenced the rate of cell respiration in worms. Based on
this experiment, it was noted that temperature indeed does affect the rate of
respiration in cells. Low temperatures were seen to slow down the rate of respiration
while extremely high temperatures were also noted to slow down the rate of
respiration. The results of the study are important in finding the optimum
temperatures in which organisms can thrive in and also contribute significantly to the
discipline of respiratory biology which contributes to understanding of biological

Worms were exposed to these temperatures and their rate of respiration was observed
for individual temperature. The main objective of the study was to find out the effect
of temperature change on the rate of cellular respiration. (Lab Handout)
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the study was to find out the effect of temperature change on the rate
of cellular respiration and to compare the rate of cell respiration of worms.
HYPOTHESIS:
The rate of respiration in worms will be lower at 4Лљc and 37Лљc than it would be
at 24Лљc.
METHODS:
In this experiment, LabQuest, sensors (O2 and CO2 gas sensors), thermometer,
worms, incubator, Biochamber 250, ice cubes, two plastic tubs and a water bath
were used. The CO2 gas sensor was set to low (0 10,000 ppm) and the two sensors
were connected to LabQuest. The rate on the meter screen was set to 0.1 samples
/second and the data collection length to 600 seconds. The room temperature was
measured and recorded. Eight worms were placed inside the respiration chamber.
The O2 gas sensor was plugged snugly into the chamber in a vertical position and the
CO2 gas sensor was plugged into the neck of the chamber. After two minutes, data

Shared-Sak Work Practices
A recent survey of 400 multinational corporations found that two thirds plan to
implement shared desk workplaces by 2020. But research shows these arrangements
have a range of outcomes, many of which are negative. The Conversation
A recently published study of 1,000 Australian employees found that shared desk
environments had a number of problems. These included increased distrust,
distractions, uncooperative behaviour and negative relationships. On top of this,
there was a decreased perception of support from supervisors.
Another study showed that shared desk environments can lead to employee
marginalisation, indifference and inattention to co workers, loss of identity and
decreased organisational commitment.
These studies and more should ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By using these arrangements, an employer can fit more workers into an existing space
and more efficiently use the available space.
Hot desking is where employees either share a desk with others or are not assigned
a permanent desk and must find one when needed. Hot desking arose as a strategy
to save on space and to cater to the needs of employees who largely worked outside
the office.
Activity based work, by contrast, assumes all employees work flexibly and will
seek out a range of different spaces to undertake different tasks. As such, these
workspaces provide a range of work settings for different types of activities such as
meetings, collaboration, private work, creativity and concentration. Employees are
expected to switch between these settings as necessary.
Proponents of activity based work claim that cost is not a major driver of its uptake.
Rather, companies have implemented it to attract and retain talent and increase
collaboration and innovation, employee wellbeing and sustainability.
But plenty of research shows negative effects of shared desk workplaces. These
negatives potentially outweigh the
Coronary Artery Disease Case Studies
Q1. What is the most likely diagnosis?
This man can be diagnosed with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), further known as
Coronary or Myocardial Ischemia. There is a possible partial blockage of coronary
arteries. CAD is a leading heart disease and will be seen in the older population.
Atherosclerosis is a major factor that plays a role in CAD. This is because there is
a thinning in the lumen of the blood vessels due to plaque or fat build up.
Constriction of the vessels causing an increase vascular resistance. Vasoconstriction
increases systemic blood pressure, hence, previous history of hypertension.
Smoking is one of his major symptom that is seen for his condition. Hypertension is
the abnormally in high blood pressure and we know smoking is a factor of increase
in blood pressure. Diagnosis of CAD foresees that there is an insufficient amount of
oxygen delivery to the heart when increased in workload. As he experienced tight
chest pressure and shortness of breath after lifting boxes, an Angina Pectoris chest
pain due to an inadequate supply of blood to the cardiac muscle (Teresa Drake,

President William McKinley
The march of events rules and overrules human action, William McKinley s own
words would soon become foretelling for his presidency. On September 6, 1901, at
the Pan American Exhibition in Buffalo, New York, President William McKinley
reached for another handshake two large bangs interrupted the buzz of voices in the
Temple of Music. Eight days later, William McKinleydied from his wounds.
McKinley s untimely death shocked the nation and created many changes in the
United States as a whole. How and why McKinley was assassinated and what
changes occurred due to the death of the President. William McKinley was born
on January 29, 1843, in Niles, Ohio. At age ten, he moved with his family to
Poland, Ohio. William Jr. was the seventh of eight children. His father owned a
small iron foundry which gave young William a strong work ethic and a respectful
attitude. William s mother, Nancy, taught him the value of prayer, courtesy, and
honesty in all relations. Education in William s early years consisted of attending a
school run by the Methodist seminary in his hometown of Poland, Ohio. After
graduation he attended Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania for only one
term due to illness after his fight with depression and financial difficulties in the
family. Financial troubles within the family made it impossible for William to go
back to school, forcing him to take a job as a postal clerk and later a teaching
position at a school near his home in Poland, Ohio.
It s Only A Game
It s Only a Game Isn t It? A small group of people sat around a ouija board expecting
nothing to happen. A few nervous giggles were exchanged amongst each other. The
laughter quickly stopped when the planchette stopped moving and the room became
cold; the air turned thick and heavy. Something entered the space, a feeling of distress
surrounded the group. They became paranoid, and felt like there was something
looking at them from the dark corners. After what felt like hours trying to end the
session, the planchettestill refused to move, almost as if it was frozen on the board.
As their impatience quickly grew, they forced the planchette to goodbye. The feeling
of despair had vanished, but the feeling of being watched remained as everyone left
the room that night. Some view the ouijaboard as a harmless game, but many have
faced the terrifying reality of the mysterious talking board. The ouija board is a
phenomenon that is a legitimate means of communicating with spirits. In February,
1891, the first few advertisements appeared in papers: ouija, the wonderful talking
board, boomed a Pittsburgh toy and novelty shop, describing a magical device that
answered questions about the past, present and future with marvelous accuracy and
promised never failing amusement and recreation for all the classes, a link between
the known and unknown, the material and immaterial (McRobbie 1). Known as the
father of the ouija board, William Fuld patented the world s first
Jefferson University Of Virginia Plan Essay
Jefferson s University of Virginia plan begins in the northeast with the focus of the
university: the library. This was a building made to store books, host meetings, and
hold classes. Extending southwest of that is a Lawn flanked on either side by
pavilions and dormitories. The pavilions (five on either side of the lawn) were meant
to be classrooms as well as faculty housing. The dormitories were built to house the
students of the universityand had bathrooms and showers dispersed throughout,
though not in individual rooms. The dormitories and pavilions are separated from
the lawn by a colonnade. Beyond the pavilions and dormitories, extending axially

Jefferson references the great architectural buildings of the past such as the pantheon
to show his connection to the great teachers of history. However, despite the
similarities, Jefferson makes some bold statements with what he does not include.
His library is based on the pantheon, yet does not reference religion. In fact, there is
no place in his plan for the university that focused on religion. This reflects Jefferson
s mentality that learning should be a secular entity, and thus his university has no
religious affiliation, the first such public institution in the nation. Another interesting
idea is that of the integrated faculty housing. In this manner, by having faculty
housing, Jefferson showed how he viewed learning as a lifelong endeavor, that
both faculty and students were in pursuit of. Each of the pavilions was also based
on a different classical roman temple, to express the many varied disciplines taught
at the university. The facades of each pavilion were intended to serve as
architectural models to expand learning. On a more concrete level, the design of the
university also reflects the social climate of the time, one which Jefferson adhered
to. The university was originally a males only institution, as can be seen by how the
dormitories are un segregated with bathrooms that allowed students to be seen in
various stages of undress. In a co ed university, this would not have been

customers brand loyalty to samsung is the main pillars of marketing direction. The
threat of substitute for Samsung may be due to the similar phones with more
advanced feature that are usually of competitor brands like the Apple iphone,Huawei

provides the same feature with a relatively low price. Due to the rapid growth in
technology the smart phones are likely to be substituted more advanced technologies.
(Boult, 2015) claims that smart phones may not exist in another five years as
consumers are getting interested in Virtual Reality VR.The power of consumers is
high as there are varieties of smart phones available in the market. In case of
Samsung too consumer has the power to bargain and have choices of different

supplier is low for Samsung because Samsung has its own supplier for most of the
components. Samsung supplies its own raw material and also manufactures its own
processor and its components.

Compare and Contrast Influential authors like Thomas Paine, Walt Whitman, and
Tim O Brien each write about what they think about war. Walt Whitman, Thomas
Paine, and Tim O Brien s attitude, tone, and message have similar components but is

Thomas Paine gives off a strong attitude towards his enemy, setting the tone and

Color In The Great Gatsby Essay
Colors have a remarkable ability to affect mood and emotions in everyday life.
Usage of colors helps to convey certain feelings without any spoken words needed.
Color is used throughout literature to communicate with the reader and to develop an
atmosphere. In The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald utilizes colors to symbolize
specific characters and to inject a sense of emotion into scenes. There is an array of
colors used throughout the novel, but the most prominent colors are white, black, and
blue. White as used in The Great Gatsbyis a symbol for purity, innocence, and status.
White is the colortypically surrounding Daisy Buchanan. For instance, when Nick
visits Daisy s house he notes, Their house was even more elaborate than I expected, a
cheerful redand white Georgian Colonial mansion, overlooking the bay (Fitzgerald
6). Using white here not only shows Daisy s purity in the choice of color, but the
way she contrasts from her husband Tom. Tom being the red portion of the house...

Daisy is seen as a higher being in Gatsby s eyes but he not on only wants to obtain
Daisy, he wants to be seen at her level of status. To illustrate, High in a white palace
the king s daughter, the golden girl (Fitzgerald 120). By mentioning Daisy in a
white palace this shows that Daisy is unobtainable to someone like Gatsby. Gatsby
has new money and will never be seen in the same way that Daisy is. This also
foreshadows the fact that Daisy will never leave Tom because she is secure in her
palace and being with Gatsby could jeopardize her status. White is a status symbol
for Tom as well, considering he sees white people as the dominant race. Tom thinks
that minorities or black people are rising up too much in society. This showcases
Tom s unlikable personality and fear of being upstaged by a lower class. White to
Tom means old money and Tom shows little respect to people who actually have to

It is forecasted that global paid product placement spending will grow at a compound
annual rate of 27.9% in the 2005 2010 period to $7.55 billion, as product placement
growth continues to significantly outpace that of traditional advertising and marketing
. The overall value of the worldwide product placement market, including the barter

to $13.96 billion in 2010 (PQ Media, August 2006). It is therefore not surprising
that the concept of product placement is daily discussed, applied, and reported in the
world of professional marketers (Russell and Stern, 2006; O Loughlin, 2006; Levin,

Southern Gothic Literature: A Comprehensive Analysis Southern Gothic literature is
a writing style that emphasizes the use of macabre and irony to expose social

competent person. Furthermore, O Conner uses the development of the characters
to support her critical view of the South. Through the use of macabre and irony, the

Communication in the BAME
Communication in the BAME In the BAME, there is currently only one way of
communication letters and papers. That might seem acceptable, but it is actually
detrimental to the workers there and to others who work with the BAME to get
things done. For example, the time it takes for these written forms of communication
to move through proper channels is excessive compared to electronic communication.
Moreover, there are many projects being undertaken that involve the BAME, and
when it becomes too difficult to get information transferred from one person or
organization to another, those projects will not get properly completed. That can lead
to a communication breakdown that can delay projects, frustrate workers, and cause a
lot of problems for everyone involved. Fortunately, there are ways to avoid that.
Communication is changing, most notably in the form of email and other internet
options (Barnlund, 2008; Goggin, 2011; Wheen, 2011).
The BAME wants to stay current and have fewer troubles when it has dealings with
others. Therefore, our objectives and proposed methodology will transform and
upgrade the old, traditional ways in which it communicates both within the BAME
and with outside agencies. The best way to do this is through electronic
communication. Emails and other forms of communicating electronically are very
significant in today s workplace (Haykin, 2001; Montana Charon, 2008). Such
technologies will provide the workers with a much faster way to get access to
The Struggle For Equality In South Africa
The Struggle for equality, Even though there were a lot of groups struggling for
equality there were similarities and differences between all the groups. Black
people in south african and african american were struggling for their equality.
Because they didn t have the rights like white people. According to martin luther

hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of
segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro

They were separated from white people, they didn t have their freedom. They can t

However, identifications of HCM patients with high risk of SD are challenging even
in human patients unless they are known to have a family history of HCM. In rhesus
macaques, the early identification of LVH is crucial for the management of the disease
in individual animals as well as in the colony. Ante mortem evaluations of these
rhesus macaques using echocardiographic and ECG examinations as well as Holter

of HCM for future direct translational approach to the study of human HCM.
The standard short term ECG monitoring often shows abnormal ECG patterns and

Compare And Contrast Aaron Burr And Aaron Hamilton
Compare and Contrast Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton
Two important politicians who stood up for American people passing laws which
supported U.S. citizen s right under the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights were
Vice President Aaron Burr and President Alexander Hamilton. These two men are
important in United States history for many reasons based upon U.S. politics, war
tactics, education, and family values. Furthermore, Aaron Burr was the vice president
of the United States during the term of President Thomas Jefferson. Compared to
Alexander Hamilton who was a member of the Mainland Congress and a writer of
the Federalist Papers. He was a winner of the Constitution and the first Secretary of
the Treasury. In contrast to Alexander Hamilton; in 1769 Burr enrolled in the
College of New Jersey and graduated in less than three years in summa cum laude.
Then he enrolled in Litchfield Law School in Connecticut but stopped due to the
Revolutionary War. In 1807 he was charged with conspiracy which corrupted his
political career. Aaron Burr was a member of Congress and the New York state
legislature. He was a delegate of the Federal Convention of 1787. He was centrally
involved in the convention which led to the U.S. Constitution being produced and
later ratified in 1787 and 1788. Although he ran for U.S. President, he did not win in
contrast to Hamilton. In 1790 Hamilton s Federalist Party was separated within the
Washington government and the country. Thomas Jefferson and James Madison
motivated Hamilton s policies and movements. In 1795 Hamilton left the treasury to
practice law. He was active in federal politics because this was crucial to win the
presidency of John Adams. Around 1812, he decided to study law. Burr s father was
active in church and became the Presbyterian minister and the president of the
College of New Jersey. In contrast, Vice President Aaron Burr and his sister was
raised by their wealthy uncle because their parents passed away early. His family
tree consisted of English goodness who were active in politics. On February 6,
1756, Vice President Burr was born in Newark, New Jersey. Then on September 14,
1836 Vice President Burr died on Staten Island New York. In, contrast to Alexander

How The End Of Cheap Energy Affects Greenhouse Gas...
On the first day of my Political Economy class, I was introduced to the concept of
limited resources. Conventionally extracted fossil fuels (oil and natural gas) are
likely to have supply shortages in the near future. Although coal and unconventional
resources are possible alternatives, reliance on emission intensive resources can be
problematic to our low carbon budget. The Fifth Assessment Report by the
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (2014) presented four emissions
pathways. The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 21) is aimed
to achieve the low emission pathway, which would limit the global temperature
increase to 2 В°C above pre industrial levels. This paper examines how the end of
cheap energy affects greenhouse gasemissions. I focus my attention on China and
India because of their shared identities, shared norms, and increasing significance in
the discourse of climate change. I propose that by 2050, the end of cheap energy
will bring China and India closer together, and as a result China and India will lower
their emissions and the planet will be on a low emission pathway.
China and India share many identities. They are two of the oldest civilizations. Both
countries have a complicated relationship with the West because of imperialism.
Currently, China has the largest population at around 1.4 billion people. India s
population is likely to succeed China in the coming future. The enormous labor force
of China and India has allowed them to
Analysis Of Living With Roaches And Mold In Skid Row Is

In this week s reading and video assignment, I learned a lot about living as a low
income individual on the streets and in substandard housing. In the article Living
with roaches and mold in run down apartments risks illness, injury the author,
Barbara Anderson, argues that living as a low income individual affects your health
in many ways including mental state. Anderson addresses how people living in
substandard housing acquire many health conditions based on the wellness of the
house. Homes being in substandard condition is seen as having mold, pests, and
punctured screens that will let in insects with infections. An infected mosquito can
come in through a missing screen and give people infections with one bite. Parents
are overrun with stress because of the harmful conditions their children and
themselves are enduring. The author uses many studies including The Los Angeles
Study as evidence to show how tenants were found physically and mentally ill with
respiratory issues, viral infections, and stress because of the conditions of the
house. In the video Lost Angels: Skid Row is my Home, more than half of
homeless people living on Skid Row are mentally ill. Many went to an asylum for
help, but were rejected or had to leave. Much of the suffering endured by these
homeless people is due to the government not understanding them. The video shows a

Browning deals worth the theme of jealousy.
Jealousy is a theme that occurs quite regularly in Browning s poems.
This was particularly noticed in both of the poems Porphyria s Lover and My Last

attention that their lovers received from other admirers. When studying both poems,
the reader can create in their mind a vivid picture of both the female characters.
However, because the male protagonists gave their view on their lovers, the reader is

the reader that the male protagonist cannot bear the thought of not having Porphyria
with him and wants to stay with
Porphyria in this way forever. Because of the way Browning portrays
Porphyria s lover s feelings, the reader can almost sympathise with the way that the
male protagonist is feeling even in the event of
Porphyria s murder, all her hair in one long string I wound, three times her little
throat around and strangled her . With Browning creating such a big build up to
Porphyria s murder and explaining it in detail, the reader recognises that this dramatic
event does mean a lot to the male protagonist and Browning makes sure that this is
the key event in the poem, and that it does not go unnoticed.
In My Last Duchess the relationship between the Duke and the Duchess seems a lot
less passionate and the reader could get the impression that the two characters
falsely pretend to love each other when in fact, the truth is the opposite. This
impression could be made by the reader because the Duke describes the Duchess as
a pleasant person to look at but he feels as if the Duchess takes him for granted and
she is not grateful for the luxuries she receives as a result of her husband s
popularity. This is shown on lines 32 34, Somehow I know not how as if she ranked
my gift of a nine hundred years old name

The Rocky Intertidal Shore
As the rocky intertidal shore is the fringe between the terrestrial zone and the
marine zone, it is not uncommon to find that the elevation of the rocky shore
increases as it moves inland. This is evident in Figure 1(A), as the 0m mark marks
the portion of the sampling site that is in the water and just before the rocky shore
and the 10m mark is the highest point of the sampling site and the closest mark to the
terrestrial zone. Due to this change in elevation, three zones have been able to be
identified in the intertidal zoneand these help with distinguishing which animals and
plants will be found along the rocky shore. The low intertidal zone and the high
intertidal zone are the two zones that are the most extreme when it comes to
physical factors. The low intertidal zone has to deal with constant wave action and
the high intertidal zone has to deal with large expanses of exposure to air, which
makes it less desirable to marine life that are unable to adapt to a more terrestrial life
(Moreira, n.d.).
Salinity can be said to be highly prone to variation due to sun exposure. The intensity
of the sun can lead to evaporation, which in turn leads to higher salt concentrations in
the water, resulting in increasing salinity (Moreira, n.d.). When looking at Figure
1(B), one can see that there are two instances of decreasing salinity; however one is
more substantial than the other. Although the more substantial decrease is located
closer to the ocean, the decrease could be a
Mexican Peso Crisis Essay
The IMF and World Bank providing loans to impoverished and financially unstable
countries is not only irresponsible, it s unethical. I intend to use the example of the
loans provided to Mexico during the Mexican peso crisis, also called the Tequila
crisis or December mistake crisis to illustrate this, and then provide what I believe
would be a better solution
On January 1st, 1994 the North American Free Trade Agreement became effective.
This, along with the Mexican peso having an exchange rate pinned to the US dollar
and low interest rates in the United States provided the Mexican government and
Mexican businesses with access to foreign investors who we eager to invest. Joseph
A. Whitt, Jr. details the events as the Mexican government devalued the peso. The
financial crisis that followed cut the peso s value in half, sent inflation soaring and set
off a severe recession in Mexico (Whitt, 1996, p. 1). Two days later, On the morning
of December 22nd, the government announced that it was abandoning the exchange
rate target band and allowing the peso to float (Whitt, 1996, p. 14).
During the previous year, the Mexican government was ... Show more content on

I do agree with pushing for economic reform, especially with policies that would
help to control inflation and reduce the deficit. However, I don t agree that aid
should be in the form of loans. IMF and the World Bank should provide grants in
exchange for economic policies, and only after the policies have been in place for
a period of time. Dave Ramsey (n.d.) says that you can t borrow your way out of
debt , and while this was in reference to personal finance, I believe that it also rings
true on a larger scale as well. If the Mexican government was not spending so much
of its income on paying off debt, it would have had more money available for
infrastructure or social projects, and may not have needed to dip into its

The author Erin Pierce s purpose in the essay is to convey the message that is waiting for prince charming can restrict you from living your own life and achieving your goals. The author Erin Pierce thesis is that there is no such as the perfect guy or prince charming and both people in the relationship should spend equal or more time of their own goals than the relationship and some effort needs to be put in by everyone involved in the relationship to stay happy. Pierce then tells us her own personal experiences with her own prince charming and how it did not work
  • 3. Defense Mechanisms Have A Negative Effect On Personality... Hypothesis: Defense mechanisms have a negative effect on personality development. My Initial Hypothesis In life, we encounter situations that we put ourselves in and then need a way to not place the blame where it should be. Like, failing a test and blaming the teacher when you know you didn t study. Or, something happens to us that we aren t quite ready to accept. For example, not getting a passing grade then ignoring it and not taking the proper steps like retaking it. By behaving as if you didn t fail the class and not retaking it while you have time can result in a possible additional semester of school so you could graduate. This action represents defense mechanisms we may use to protect ourselves from. These reactions to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Of course, this can become unsafe because there could be some medical needs that are not being met. Since defense mechanisms are unconscious, it is safe to assume that they are a natural part of our development. In fact, denial is quite common in preschoolers and as we develop as do our understanding of these defense mechanisms so we replace the old ones with new mechanisms (Cramer, 1999). As we advance the mechanisms we use become more complex like going from denial to projection. Projection involved placing feelings about one situation on someone or something also. This seems to be more complicated because they have to know that we cannot express ourselves inappropriately to the initial issue and find somewhere else where it may be more acceptable. Like, your parents making you angry then, you being mean to your sibling even though it is not warranted. While our ages increase and our defense mechanisms begin to adapt and the old defenses aren t used as much as mention earlier. We now know that when the childhood methods lie, denial and projection linger past their time psychopathology can develop as time goes on (Cramer, 1999). Identification tends to come after projection, which is after denial and it assists in helping to become more independent and help to find who you are (Porerelli, Thomas, Hibbard, Cogan, (1998). Separating yourself from your parents is a great part of life. Excepting and embracing the fact that you are an

Baroque opera is more elaborate and complex in comparison to the balanced style of classical music. While there are many similarities between the two, there are also a significant amount of differences. Baroqueoperamade use of harmonic progressions and chord progressions, as well as basso continuo which was less common in the classical era of opera. In the classical era, basso continuo was completely forgotten and the composers focused more on the melodic aspects of music. Classical music focused on the technical sides of music rather than the sound. Classical is very structured and has one main melody with accompanied parts, making it very simple music. Haydn s Symphony no. 94 is a great representation of the structured and simple music that makes up the Classical era. Everyone plays a similar and quite simple part, nothing differs too significantly and every individual part is complimentary of the other parts. The lack of rhythm variety among the various parts lead the piece to sound very well organized and put together overall, because everything is very parallel. This differs vastly from the musical styles of the Baroque era because it strays away form the polyphonic styles associated with the Baroque era. The renaissance era was most influential on opera. The middle ages was a productive time in music. String instruments were invented and people began combining theatre and music. Composers would try and create musical sequences to tell their stories, otherwise known as the beginning of opera. But it was not

Critique Of Kant Defining Kant s Critique of Pure Reason and its Relation to the Science of Metaphysics The understanding itself, in regard to representations and objects, is the paramount focus of Immanuel Kant s (1724 1804), Critique of Pure Reason (1781/1787). • 10. Universal Healthcare Socialist Does giving universal healthcare to its citizens make a country socialist? The answer is no. why I am answering this question is that, this question is the one of the main arguments against universal healthcare in America. Even though universal healthcare is a characteristic of most socialist governments there are governments that are not socialist but have universal health carefor example Australia, United Kingdom and so on and so forth. Universal healthcare is a good idea because of its many benefits and simplicity. The origins of healthcare in the United States can be traced back to the 1900 s, the heart of the progressive era (Health Insurance), and from that time period itself it has been met with some serious opposition. The First time it was brought up the universal health care reform got struck down because Germany had adopted a successful universal healthcare plan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To them I simply respond by saying universal healthcare can be implemented in many ways and has been implemented in many different European countries. Most of these countries now have a healthcare system that is far less complex than America s healthcare system. Those against universal health care may argue that by taking away the choice of choosing healthcare providers people are essentially losing a right. To that statement I respond by saying this government has a duty to protect the welfare of its citizens and healthcare falls under the welfare of people so let the government do its job and don t be an obstacle for progress. My opponents on this issue may argue that healthcare is a privilege and not a right. To them I ask this question if it is not a right then why do so many other developed nations have universal healthcare? America is probably the only developed country that still doesn t have a universal healthcare system that shows that universal healthcare should be a right in developed countries not a
  • 11. Great American Cities In Jacob s book, The Death and Life of Great American Cities, the various ways that city planning is being practiced incorrectly are explored. One problem that cities are encountering is the decay of inner city areas that are forming slums . City planners have been attempting to mend this problem by spending money on new low income housing projects and developments. This tactic does not fix the problem of high crime rates and low levels of education because these people stay in the same area just in slightly better housing and still without proper education and opportunities. Another reason why these problems do not improve is that planners focus on how a cityshould look and not on the actual happenings in the real city. The author mentions
  • 12. Extraction of Benzoic Acid Essay Introduction The purpose of this experiment is to practice common organic laboratory techniques inside the lab to get one oriented to the basic methods of procedure that can be used for later experiments. This experiment involves the separation of benzoic acid from a more crude form, consisting of benzoic acid, methyl orange, a common acid/base indicator, and cellulose, a natural polymer of glucose (Huston, and Liu 17 24). The technique that is used to perform this separation is called extraction. Extraction is a systematic process of separating mixtures of compounds, taking advantage of the affinity differences of compounds to separate them (Padias 128 37). This technique recognizes the principle that like dissolves in like, that is, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These layers can be separated through the use of a seperatory funnel which drains the bottom layer into a separate container. This method uses the understanding of partition ratios of solutes to different paired solvents to produce an equilibrium leaning towards one solvent over another, thereby extracting a compound from one liquid to the other (Padias 128 37). For example, consider a mixture containing two solutes, solute A and solute B, and two immiscible solvents, solvent A and solvent B. If solute A dissolves well into solvent A, but not very well into solvent B, and solute B dissolves well into solvent B but not very well into solvent A, there would be a higher ratio of solute A in solvent A than in solvent B, and a higher ratio of solute B into solvent B than in solvent A. One can then see that, through the use of different solvents, two dissolved solutes can be separated from a mixture. This ratio of a solute concentration to different solvents is defined by K, the distribution constant. Successive filtrations yield s a higher percentage of products. Chemically active extraction is a highly useful method of separating organic compounds in mixtures (Padias 128 37). Organic acids and bases are soluble in organic solvents, but their corresponding salts are soluble in water. Therefore, if one had a mixture of an acidic organic compound and a basic organic compound in an organic solvent, addition of a base

We learn that this is his name finally at the end of the story when Fortunato says, For the love of God, Montresor! From reading the story I could infer a few things about Montresor. First, that he is a wealthy man with his servants that he has and a large palazzo. As I noticed in the story that there are quite a few Latin and French words used by Montresor, which could state that he is a very smart man. As Montresor talks about his family in the story and speaks very highly of them, one could infer that he and his family is very popular. As the story unfolds and I read on I could really see that Montresor is an unreliable narrator. As he states right

The Art Institute Of Chicago Next time you are walking through the Art Institute of Chicago I would highly recommend a visit to the Gift of Edlis|Neeson Collection, located on the second floor, gallery 292A. Here you will find a tantalizing array of modern day contemporary art that delivers a sensory overload wherever you turn. Nestled in between the copiousness of talent you will find three offerings from a prominent living contemporary artist called Jasper Johnstitled Alphabet (1959), Figure 4 (1959), and Target (1961). Although at times his work faced rejection from the critics of individualism of abstract expressionists his life s journey sculptured his path to who he is as a person and who he has become as a modern day renowned contemporary artist. In 1958, gallery owner Leo Castelli discovered Johns while visiting the Rauschenberg s studio. This was an important time in Johns art career as his style had started to settle more into contemporary art due to his personal relationship with Robert Rauschenberg. According to The Society for Contemporary Art Castelli gave him his first solo show. It was here that Alfred Barr, the founding director of New York s Museum of Modern Art, purchased four works from this show. In the latter part of the 1950 s, Jasper Johns arose as the shinning star in the American art scene (Wildfire Media 2015). His paintings of maps, flags, and targets led the artistic community away from Abstract Expressionism toward a new emphasis of Neo Dada and Pop Art. Today, as
  • 16. Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde Symbolism The Victorian period is apparent in the story largely because of the scientific nature of the tale. Dr. Jekyll is a doctor who dabbles around with potion making, spending much of his time in his laboratory. This supports the fact that England had become a place of forward progress and scientific thinking. In the story, Jekyll attempts to separate his two personalities by using a potion, and while speaking of his two personalities he says, If each, I told myself, could but be housed in separate identities, life would be relieved of all that was unbearable (Stevenson 2272). When he describes ghastly things, like the appearance of Hyde, and still finds a way to do so in a beautiful way it is inspiring. Also, the way that the story places the reader in the midst of a scene from the story is quite beautiful, like the part of the story where Utterson describes his own easily liked nature, he says, Hosts loved to detain the dry lawyer, when the light hearted and the loose tongued had already their foot on the threshold; they liked to sit awhile in his unobtrusive company, practising for solitude, sobering their minds in the man s rich silence after the expense and strain of gaiety (Stevenson 2249). It is the beauty of such things that contribute to the excellent quality of the story itself. There was a reason that it was an instant best seller when published. It connected to reader s lives and was written in a rather fantastic

Although he was a bit emotional, he moved on. Others also advocated a similar statement, But nearly everyone I ve spoke with, Adnan s friends and teachers say he took the breakup like anyone would. Adnan s friend Mac Francis said Adnan initially was devastated and jealous about the new boyfriend. Said he grumbled about it in a typical guy way, nothing strange. Everyone I talked to said some version of this, that he wasn t rage filled or vindictive. He was just sad (Episode 2: The Breakup p. 36). Sarah Koenig asked many people and none of them announced anything extreme between Adnan and Hae after their breakup. Thereafter, a witness, Asia McClain, had physically spoken to Adnan when he allegedly murdered Hae. Asia McClain was a high schooler that attended Adnan s school and composed a couple letters to him after he was arrested. One of these letters reads, Dear Adnan I hope I

Among these, microcontrollers stand as a lower cost alternative, satisfactory reliability, simplicity, reduced consumption energy, however, with limited memory capacity and processing. A microcontroller contains a processor, memory access and peripheral input / output. It is a microprocessor that can be programmed for specific functions, in contrast to other general purpose microprocessors (such as those used in PCs). Basically, the use of a microcontroller is in the processing of data from one of your peripherals, with the set of output data. For example, send data via serial port or generate a reaction in system as an LED light. The architecture of a microcontroller generally consists of a core processing, bus and Peripherals: Processing core consists of the data processor (calculations, flow control program, etc.) and administration of peripherals. Bus is divided into data and address, is on the lines of communication between the processor and peripherals. Peripherals characterize the set of features available by the microcontroller and are controlled by the processor. For example, memory, serial port, parallel port and AD converter. Microcontrollers are typically used in automation and control products and peripherals, such as control systems of automotive engines, remote controls, machines, etc.

Based on this experiment, it was noted that temperature indeed does affect the rate of respiration in cells. Low temperatures were seen to slow down the rate of respiration while extremely high temperatures were also noted to slow down the rate of respiration. The results of the study are important in finding the optimum temperatures in which organisms can thrive in and also contribute significantly to the discipline of respiratory biology which contributes to understanding of biological connectivity... The main objective of the study was to find out the effect of temperature change on the rate of cellular respiration. (Lab Handout) PURPOSE: The purpose of the study was to find out the effect of temperature change on the rate of cellular respiration and to compare the rate of cell respiration of worms. HYPOTHESIS: The rate of respiration in worms will be lower at 4Лљc and 37Лљc than it would be at 24Лљc. METHODS: In this experiment, LabQuest, sensors (O2 and CO2 gas sensors), thermometer, worms, incubator, Biochamber 250, ice cubes, two plastic tubs and a water bath were used. The CO2 gas sensor was set to low (0 10,000 ppm) and the two sensors were connected to LabQuest. The rate on the meter screen was set to 0.1 samples /second and the data collection length to 600 seconds. The room temperature was measured and recorded. Eight worms were placed inside the respiration chamber. The O2 gas sensor was plugged snugly into the chamber in a vertical position and the CO2 gas sensor was plugged into the neck of the chamber. Activity based work, by contrast, assumes all employees work flexibly and will seek out a range of different spaces to undertake different tasks. As such, these workspaces provide a range of work settings for different types of activities such as meetings, collaboration, private work, creativity and concentration. Employees are expected to switch between these settings as necessary. Proponents of activity based work claim that cost is not a major driver of its uptake. Rather, companies have implemented it to attract and retain talent and increase collaboration and innovation, employee wellbeing and sustainability. Jefferson references the great architectural buildings of the past such as the pantheon to show his connection to the great teachers of history. However, despite the similarities, Jefferson makes some bold statements with what he does not include. His library is based on the pantheon, yet does not reference religion. In fact, there is no place in his plan for the university that focused on religion. This reflects Jefferson s mentality that learning should be a secular entity, and thus his university has no religious affiliation, the first such public institution in the nation. Another interesting idea is that of the integrated faculty housing. In this manner, by having faculty housing, Jefferson showed how he viewed learning as a lifelong endeavor, that both faculty and students were in pursuit of. Each of the pavilions was also based on a different classical roman temple, to express the many varied disciplines taught at the university. The facades of each pavilion were intended to serve as architectural models to expand learning. Usage of colors helps to convey certain feelings without any spoken words needed. Color is used throughout literature to communicate with the reader and to develop an atmosphere. There is an array of colors used throughout the novel, but the most prominent colors are white, black, and blue. White as used in The Great Gatsbyis a symbol for purity, innocence, and status. • 38. How The End Of Cheap Energy Affects Greenhouse Gas... On the first day of my Political Economy class, I was introduced to the concept of limited resources. Conventionally extracted fossil fuels (oil and natural gas) are likely to have supply shortages in the near future. Although coal and unconventional resources are possible alternatives, reliance on emission intensive resources can be problematic to our low carbon budget. The Fifth Assessment Report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (2014) presented four emissions pathways. The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 21) is aimed to achieve the low emission pathway, which would limit the global temperature increase to 2 В°C above pre industrial levels. This paper examines how the end of cheap energy affects greenhouse gasemissions. I focus my attention on China and India because of their shared identities, shared norms, and increasing significance in the discourse of climate change. I propose that by 2050, the end of cheap energy will bring China and India closer together, and as a result China and India will lower their emissions and the planet will be on a low emission pathway. China and India share many identities. They are two of the oldest civilizations. Both countries have a complicated relationship with the West because of imperialism. Currently, China has the largest population at around 1.4 billion people. India s population is likely to succeed China in the coming future. The Rocky Intertidal Shore As the rocky intertidal shore is the fringe between the terrestrial zone and the marine zone, it is not uncommon to find that the elevation of the rocky shore increases as it moves inland. This is evident in Figure 1(A), as the 0m mark marks the portion of the sampling site that is in the water and just before the rocky shore and the 10m mark is the highest point of the sampling site and the closest mark to the terrestrial zone. Due to this change in elevation, three zones have been able to be identified in the intertidal zoneand these help with distinguishing which animals and plants will be found along the rocky shore. The low intertidal zone and the high intertidal zone are the two zones that are the most extreme when it comes to physical factors. The low intertidal zone has to deal with constant wave action and the high intertidal zone has to deal with large expanses of exposure to air, which makes it less desirable to marine life that are unable to adapt to a more terrestrial life (Moreira, n.d.). Salinity can be said to be highly prone to variation due to sun exposure. The intensity of the sun can lead to evaporation, which in turn leads to higher salt concentrations in the water, resulting in increasing salinity (Moreira, n.d.). When looking at Figure 1(B), one can see that there are two instances of decreasing salinity; however one is more substantial than the other.
