Essay On Russian Revolution
Crafting an essay on the Russian Revolution can be a challenging endeavor, requiring a nuanced
understanding of historical events, socio-political contexts, and the intricate dynamics that
shaped this pivotal period. The complexity lies not only in narrating the chronology of events but
also in analyzing the multifaceted causes and consequences that defined the revolution.
One must navigate through a plethora of primary and secondary sources, ranging from political
manifestos and historical documents to scholarly interpretations. The task involves sifting
through contrasting viewpoints, reconciling conflicting accounts, and discerning the underlying
motivations of key figures. Furthermore, the essay demands a careful examination of the
economic, social, and cultural factors that fueled the revolutionary fervor, adding layers of
complexity to the analysis.
The challenge deepens when considering the multitude of perspectives on the Russian
Revolution – whether it be the Marxist interpretation, focusing on class struggle, or the
geopolitical perspective, highlighting international influences. Crafting a cohesive narrative that
encapsulates the diverse aspects of this historical upheaval requires a deft hand at synthesizing
information and presenting a well-structured argument.
Moreover, the essay must transcend mere factual reporting; it should delve into the ideological
underpinnings, exploring the ideologies that clashed and converged during this transformative
period. Discussing the role of key figures such as Lenin, Trotsky, and the Bolsheviks demands a
nuanced understanding of their political philosophies and the impact of their decisions on the
course of history.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the Russian Revolution demands not just historical acumen
but also analytical prowess. It necessitates the ability to synthesize information, critically
evaluate sources, and present a compelling narrative that captures the essence of a complex
historical event. Despite the challenges, the process can be intellectually rewarding, providing a
deeper understanding of the forces that shaped the course of Russian and global history.

Influence of CSOs on government
CSOs have been instrumental in influencing government to incorporate environment
and labor provisions in the North American Free Trade Agreement and the World
Trade Organisation (WTO) negotiations, emboldening governments to allow banning
of genetically modified organisms and food products and forcing World Bank to
excuse the debt of developing countries.
MEDIATORS OR MODERATORS: CSOs act as mediators or moderators where
they collaborate with corporates jointly working for the betterment of the community.
They try to influence various policies without being directly involved in it.
Stakeholder agency theory which can be used to study this role, assumes that the
corporate has ethical and social responsibilities towards a wide variety of
stakeholders which impact them in one or the other way. [1]

Cornel West s On Black-Jewish Relations
In On Black Jewish Relations Essay, Cornel West starts by analyzing the reasoning
for why Black Jewish relations in the United States seem to be deteriorating over the
years. These ongoing competitive fights are called Black Anti Semitism and Jewish
Anti Black Racism. Consequently, West points out that both Jewish and African
Americans have come from a hard past where they have experienced oppression,
humiliation and discrimination many times by other ethnic and/or racial groups.
West then alleges that at one time, African American and Jewish leaders like Martin
Luther King and Abraham Joshua Heschel worked for this problem and decided to
form alliances between the two ethnic groups. Unfortunately, this strong helping
relationship was totally unsuccessful and the two ethnic groups went opposite
direction, making the tension between them rise steeply.
Furthermore, West conveys that hatred of Jews began at the center of medieval and
modern European cultures (such as Christianity), and was based on religious and
social motives. One of these reasons is the Christian stereotypes of Jews as Christ
killers. Nevertheless, my stand on this particular issue is that I both agree to a certain

First, African Americans were discriminated by white people, so that they believe
Jews, who most have white skin color, are also involved. For this reason, African
Americans become sensitive for everything that relates to racism. However, the
question is: If most Jews were not white skinned, would African Americans really
unite with the Jews? Second, African Americans and Jews initially belonged to the
same level of allies. Nonetheless, Jews climbed the American social ladder quickly
and successfully, which makes African Americans envious of Jews. Therefore,
African Americans now seem to despise the Jews and see them as their
Julie Lechevsky s Poem Dandelion
Belittlement
In the poem Dandelion, by Julie Lechevsky, a child narrates her view on how
dandelions have more importance in the world than what is distinguished of them. In
the first stanza, the narrator says that [her] science teacher was speaking, which
implies that she is still in school and has a more youthful view on life. Additionally,
the author contrasts the dandelion to be unlike the Venus fly trap and different from
the Calopogon pulchellus, where the word pulchellus derives from the Latin word
pulcher, meaning beautiful (4, 5). The child s thoughts on dandelions relate back to
her personal life where she dictates [they go] on television/ between the poison squirt

In the final stanza the narrator says I wish I could grow like a dandelion, to
enunciate the deeper aspirations in life (30). That simile relates the poet even
further to the thought of the dandelion being part of her, by saying that she wants
to be a dandelion herself. The narrator is the tenor, who wishes she could exhibit
the growth in the way the vehicle, a dandelion, appears to. Adding on, the poet
compared the condition of a person s life to the life of a dandelion, in ways of how
weeds might not be beautiful on the outside, but they tend to be strong and grow
faster than the stereotypical flower. The use of personification is presented when the
poet states that her parents will perpetually watch her because [she is] their jewel
(18). The public does not have the opportunity to notice the strength the narrator may
hold because her parents keep a close eye on
Brief Summary Of Buttercup And The Princess Bride
Once upon a time there was a young girl who lived on a farm and for the longest
time it didn t seem like she would amount to anything. This girl s name was
Buttercup and she fell in love with the farm boy, Westley. Westley had to go to
America to make money so him and Buttercup could have a wedding, but he was
said to be killed by The Dread Pirate Roberts. After this happened, Buttercup swore
she would never loveanother, but one day the Princeof Florin, Prince Humperdink,
had told her that she must marry him. Nobody knew that his plan all along was to
kill Princess Buttercup, and he had hired three men to do it for him. Vizzini, Fezzik

My personal favorite lesson in the novel is that it s alright to lie if it s for a good
reason. To start off the story, Goldman tells the readers that his father read the
story to him while he was sick. The readers get sucked into this heart warming
story and want to read the rest of it, only to find out that the whole story was built
on a lie. Goldman wrote the story himself but he makes more of a connection to the
audience if he says he was sick when he heard the story. The whole foundation of
the story is a lie but none of the readers seem to care since the novel is such a great
story. The end of the book is not a final slam the book and now there isn t anything
further to think about kind of book. Goldman s father lies to him about the ending
and just says that they live happily ever after. It is hard to tell a kid that the couple
has to spend their life on the run from Prince Humperdinck. After all, we all lie to
our children to make them happy. We tell them that the Tooth Fairy left the quarter
under their pillow, and the Easter Bunny left all the eggs in the yard, and finally
everyone s favorite, Santa Claus left the presents under the tree. It makes much more
sense to tell the silly little lie to make the kids happy then to tell the truth and watch
the light drain from their happy

How Television Has Affected America
Around the world, The United States is widely known as a leader in mass media
production, like television and movies. There are very few inventions that have
affected America as much as the television. Before 1947, the number of TV s in the
US could be measured in thousands, and by the late 1990 s about 98% of homes had
at least one televisionset in it, which were on for on average, more than seven hours
a day. The Typical American spends about 3 5 hours watching TV a day. TV
became a way for Americans to either escape their lifestyle, relate to it, or keep up
with current events. It has become a tool that the US uses to relate to each other
Television sales were started in the late 1940s,after they started appearing in the
largest cities. TV ownership was originally a big city thing. Of the 102,000 TV
sets in the US in 1948, two thirds were in New York. Even though a television set
would cost around $400, it was still Catching on like a case of high toned scarlet
fever, according to a March 1948 edition of Newsweek Magazine. This early on,
TV was still just an experiment, radio was still the number one source of
entertainment. As more TV sets began to be sold, people came to wonder what sort
of programs would be shown. Many early TV... Show more content on

to pre recorded movies and shows, to VHS tapes and then DVDs and Blu Ray

today. Without it, Life would be different for most Americans. It shows every almost

Egil s Saga Essay
The author most likely intended for Egil s Saga to be a historical documentation of
Scandinavia, its culture, and several of its inhabitants. The tale could also be seen as
a folk tale, set in a realistic setting with real people, but the events are skewed and not
quite right. The epic accomplishes the first possible intention through its many
characters, the use known locations, and basing the majority of the tale around two
individual families that would have been well known around the time it was written.
However, the tale is not entirely accurate, which strengthens the idea that it was more
of a folktale. Throughout the epic the audience is introduced to two families,
beginning far before the birth of the man who would attributed to the title. The tale
then follows these families through the events that led up to the main plot of the
epic, going so far as to keep detailed track of who married who and where each
character came from. An example of this would be the detailed description of Olaf on
page 168 in chapter 79. This introductionnot only... Show more content on

This was due to most people being unable to read. Only those with enough money
could afford to get an education and learn how to read their own language. This
meant that only a small portion of the population would be able to read Egil s Saga.
However, these educated individuals could read the story aloud in Icelandic to a
crowd. With this in mind the story was most likely spread primarily through word of
mouth. This is also shown through the style in which the piece was written.
Egil s Saga is quick paced and exaggerated, like a folk tale version of a family story.
This stylistic choice would keep an audience tuned in to the story and unsure of
when to walk away from it. Each chapter is filled with action and lacks any real
downtime. Someone is always up to something that is at least mildly exciting. This
keeps most readers, or audience members, on their
Good People
Good People It is difficult and complicated to define a good and a bad person. We
all have different opinions on what is the right thing to do and what is the wrong
thing to do. People have their own set of personal unwritten rules also called ethic
which they live by. However sometimes the person himself does not know what he
thinks is ethical right or wrong because he has never have to deal with the situation
before. In the short story Good People which is written by David Foster Wallace,
we get to see what goes through a boys mind when he has an ethical dilemma. The
story is about two colleges students who are waiting a baby. The problem is just that

He did it for himself. Lane s views on things are black and white. He makes a big
deal of putting things in contrast such as hell vs. heaven and good vs. bad. He
even tries to put him and Sheri in contrast. It seems like he sees himself as the bad
guy and her as the good person. He looks at things from many perspectives but
instead of speaking to Sheri, Lane makes up scenario of what he thinks she wants
to do at the end of the story. There is a lack of communication between the couple.
They do not speak to each other at any point in the story. We get a feeling that the
couple have not really sat down and talked through. He hated himself for sitting so
frozen. He could almost visualize himself tiptoeing past something explosive. A
big stupid looking tiptoe, like in a cartoon. The whole last black week had been
this way and it was wrong. Especially Lane he has not faced the truth before he was
at the park. The story has an open ending and it ends with a lot of unanswered
questions, which leave the readers to ponder over the answers to the questions.
The fact that it ended that way forces the readers to still think about the story and
reflect on the situation Lane are in, after the story ended. He was desperate to be
good people . The title Good People can interpret in different ways. The word people
is in plural. The fact that it is in plural symbolises the fact

The Movie Pulp Fiction By Quentin Tarantino
The movie Pulp Fiction(1994) was directed by Quentin Tarantino is regarded as
one of the best movies ever made and especially for the gangster film genre it is
quite unique. It can be argued that Pulp fiction is or isn t a gangster movie but
there are enough signs to prove that it s definitely is a gangster film. This movie
focuses rather on the morality of decisions and about the character s internal
conflict and the karma that the character s receive. Not only is there karam
associated with their actions but a chance for redemption . All of these things add
for a wonderful gangster movie but it is missing some very conventional aspects of
the genre that definitely set it apart from the rest. The first time that the characters
are seen with the questioning of morality is in the very beginning of the film with
Vincent Vega(John Travolta) and Jules(Samuel L. Jackson). The conversation starts
out about their bosses new wife Mia Wallace(Uma Thurman) and how was laying
her hands on her in familial way and gave her a foot massage. This caused
Marcellus Wallace(Ving Rhames) to throw Antwone out the window four stories and
give him permanent nerve damage. Jules thinks that reaction that Marcellus has was
too far and that it was just foot massage, while Vincent says I ve given a million
ladies a million foot massages and they all meant something and we act like they don

Ralph Waldo Emerson Introduction
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ralph Waldo Emerson was born on May 25, 1803, in Boston, Massachusetts to
Ruth Haskins Emerson and William Emerson, minister (Waldo, 1983). Emerson
eventually grew up to also become a leader in the Church. The social environment
of Boston at the turn of the nineteenth century would progressively be stamped by
the conflict between its more seasoned conservation values and the radical change
developments and social optimists that were risen in the decades leading through
the 1840s. Emerson was one of five surviving children. Waldo, as Emerson was
called, entered Harvard at age fourteen, instructed in the summer, held tables, and
with his brother Edward, composed papers for other understudies to pay his costs.
Graduating in the center of his course, Emerson instructed in his brother William s
school until 1825 when he entered the Holiness School at Harvard (Waldo, 1983).
Emerson also opened his own school in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. The design of
Emerson s mental life was molded in his early years. Ralph Waldo Emerson became
known as the voice of intellectual culture in the United States.
Emerson s early life also included preaching after being ordained in 1829 to serve
the Old Second Church until it no longer pleased him in 1831. The early death of his
wife, Ellen Tucker, from tuberculosis caused Emerson to give up on the church and
resign in 1932. He began to engage in altercations often with the church about
Communion and public prayer. In one of his

Early music from America
Music with influence from Europe always uses a number of instruments, together
with vocalists and choirs. In some instances, the most current instruments like electric
guitars are used together with the traditional instruments of an orchestra. One
prominent artist within this field was Hildegard of Bingen. Hildegard was always
known as a very influential nun during the time of middle ages and developed a
number of compositions that had unearthly beaury. One of such great composition is

Composers like Amy Beach did counter this by generating very nice and serious
music (Burkholder Grout, 2014). Amy Beach usually composes Romantic classical
music, which majority is yet to compare with that of composers such as Brahmns.
This music worked both unintentionally and intentionally to assist the new America
nation to seal its cultural identity separately from the European countries. One great
example of this kind of compositions is Beach s Gaelic Symphony, the kind of
musical elements which pay honor to the Scottish and Irish settlers who played great
role in the history of America (Monson Marvin, 2013).
Tin Pan Alley music
Tin Pan Alley music rose to the fame at the start of the 20th century, the same time
the United States was starting its meteoric rise to cultural greatness that is enjoying
currently. This music always appear very bright and happy. Composers like
Gershwin were well known for developing pieces that were brooding and dark. That
is to say, they were music that had exuded optimism. Rhapsody in Blue, by Gershwin
is one of the prominent and most innovative piece that arose from this genre. Within
this music, Gershwin blended jazz and classical music to come up with a very unique

William Clark Hathorne Historical Background
Nathaniel Hawthorne (born Hathorne) was born in Salem, Massachusetts, his parents
being Nathaniel and Elizabeth Clark Hathorne (Manning). Nathaniel Hawthorne s
life had been steeped into a Puritan legacy. One of his ancestors is most notably
known as William Hathorne, where he is mostly known as being one of three harsh
judges during the SalemWitch Trials (in where men and women alike were sentenced
and accused of using witchcraft). Nathaniel did not want to be known as being
related to his ancestor, and had later added a w to his last name to distance himself
from the family. This can also be seen in how he relates himself to his works, such
as The House of the Seven Gables, in which an ancestor of the Pyncheon family was

So, I don t see that there is anything left for me but to be an author. He later met and
became engaged to Sophia Peabody, and was able to meet many transcendalists
thinkers such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Henry David Thoreau. They had also
influenced Nathaniel s thinking on the importance of intuition, rather than intellect in
uncovering the truths of nature and human beings. However, he left this experiment
in November of 1841, and was left disillusioned with the viewpoint on the
community, exhausted from his work, and that without financial hope that he could
support a wife. Nathaniel and Sophia were able to marry later on in Boston on July
9th, in 1842. His son Julian was born in 1846, and 1851, their daughter Rose was
also born. Around the time of autumn in 1863, Nathaniel became sick. In May of
1864, he and his friend Franklin Pierce (an old classmate) went to New Hampshire in
search of improved health. Unfortunately, Nathaniel Hawthorne passes away in his

Evaluating Kamil s Instructional Level And Needs
The examiner conducted several assessments in order to determine Kamil s
instructional level and needs in the area of decoding, attitude about reading as well as
his ability to comprehend and retell a text. The information derived from the series of
assessments has helped plan for meaningful instruction, which in the opinion of
examiner will meet Kamil s instructional needs and support the increase of motivation
towards reading. Below are the recommendations for each area of the instructional
need.
Attitude about Reading The Motivation to Read Profile survey reveals that Kamil
feels good as a reader and he has a positive attitude towards reading. He also seems
to read books which he chooses by himself and which are mostly comic books.
Therefore, it is important to improve Kamil s motivation and engagement in
choosing various genres of literature in order to expose him to the complex nature
of English language. One way to increase Kamil s desire to reach for a wide variety
of books is implementing activity titled Three piece Kits (Edmunds Bauserman,
2006). The teacher creates a three piece kit containing three different types and/or
genres of books in a bag. The kit should contain a narrative text, a poem and an
expository book on a topic Kamil finds interesting. For example, Kamil s teacher can
collect an autobiography/narrative book titled Knucklehead, a collection of war
poems and an informational book about World War I/II. Kamil may find these books
interesting
Theory of Cognitive Development and Children
Discuss the concept of constructivism (from Piaget s theory of cognitive
development). Use a mix of theory and research to back up your ideas about whether
or not the child constructs his/her own development.
The understanding of how children comprehend the world around them has been a
highly researched part of cognitive development in Psychology. Jean Piaget was one
of the first researchers to develop a theory suggesting that children understand the
world around them by actively seeking information from their environment, and
continuously expanding their knowledge by organizing, adapting and assimilating
this information Berlin, (1992). Piaget s theory known as constructivism theory, has

The failure to reach the correct location Piaget explains as egocentrism clamming that
at this stage children fail to see the situation in a different point of view thinking that
because the object was placed in the first location that that object would permanently
be there, Piaget, J. amp; Inhelder, B. (1969). Testing Piaget s A not B theory Kaufman
and Needham (1999) tested 40 six and a half month infants. Using habituation
technique they concluded that infants looked longer when the objects were moved.
Contrary to Piaget s findings, they suggested that infant special orientation
development happens at much earlier age, arguing that Piaget underestimated infant
ability.
The second and third stage Piaget proposed are the preoperational and concrete stage
at this stage children understand object permanence (that objects continue to exist
even though they cannot see them) , spatial layouts and also the use of language for
problem solving starts during the preoperational stage through constructing existing
information and eventually expanding this information. However until the age of
seven children still see the world from their egocentric view (i.e. refusing to see the
world from a different point of view). At the concrete stage children are able to
solve visual problems such as lining in order dolls from the tallest to the shortest,
however they are not able to solve mental

Electric Cars vs. Gas Cars In contemporary world, the gasoline s price has increased
so much that there are less people to buy gasoline cars. Therefore, a newly
developed car which use the electricity as power comes into people s sight. There
are some comparisons and similarities between the electric cars and gas cars. The
electric vehiclesmashes the gas engine in terms of pollution. A study conducted by
the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power found that electric vehicles would
reduce emissions substantially over 100,000 miles, producing just 75 pounds of
pollutants, compared to the gas engine s 3,008 lbs. of pollutants. What is more,
electric cars and gas cars emit some similar pollution. However electric cars are also

Life Worth Living
TITLE The simple question, What makes life worth living? Is a difficult question
to answer. The ways that we live our life have rippling effects on others around us,
so it is imperative to make correct choices that make life worth living. Everyone in
life also has different ideas of what makes life doable through hard difficult times
were perseverance is needed, and that s when we ask ourselves what makes life
worth living?, without a doubt waking up every morning, family, and the future
make life worth living. One of such ways of that makes life worth living is by
waking every morning, which gives a fresh new start, and a chance to have a
positive outlook. Taking advantage of a fresh start to a new day can be the difference

The feeling of love and a good stable are also very key points in stable good
standing family, but when a family has forgiveness for one another it goes beyond
any other understanding. The power of forgiveness in a family extends from as
small as forgetting someone s birthday to a huge mistake such as forgiving a family
member for crashing the family car. The three important factors all tie into the
reason of why family make life worth living. The exhilarating feeling of not
knowing the outcome of the future makes life more worth living. The outcome of
the future is always a ominous mystery which is what makes it so interesting but at
the same time we have a small control of what happens in the future, as the choices
we make will surely impact the outcome of the future that is chosen. The simpleness
of positive influxes in life can extend the thoughts of what we think that about in our
future s that make life worth living. Although the standard american dream is sought
to be the perfect future for every american due to the thoughts of having the nice
house, the dream job and the perfect house, but we miss the simple fact of how
every individual has a set future in mind that they want to make goals towards and

Characteristics Of My Personality
My personality has been strengthened and developed through my various
characteristics, hobbies, and interests. Others believe that i am just a lazy weirdo
who loves jokes. However, I have goals and dreams to bring to fruition. Please
allow me to expand on these points. Some of my characteristics shape the way
people view me. An example of this is how happy I am all the time. It has gotten to
the point where if I am not smiling my friends think something is wrong. I feel that
I am always happy due to the fact that I like to have a positive outlook on life. If
something bad happens I just try my best to roll with it and improve from there.
Basically, I try not to cry over spilt milk; I see no point in it. I feel that it will make
people feel free to be themselves around me. I find it important that people are
comfortable around me. This is due in part to the fact that when people are more
comfortable, they tend to be happier. I enjoy making people laugh and helping them
enjoy the moment wherever we are. The main trait of my personality is how much I
like to have fun. I like to think it makes people view me as easy going. Whenever i
find another personwho is energetic and friendly, it is great because i need someone
fun to stay interested and engaged. My short attention span is my biggest downfall.
It causes me to drift when anyone is talking. It once was so bad that I was talking
and got side tracked as I was talking. The fact that my attention span is so short

Sethe And Slave Escapee In Toni Morrison s Beloved
Beloved, written by Toni Morrison is 1987; focuses on the life of Sethe a slave
plantation escapee who now resides just outside of Cincinnati with her family, and
the struggles she faces coping with her past and adapting to society. It is set at
towards the end of the slavery era, and in the book Beloved, the protagonist in the
story, Sethe, is hyperbolized as a typical plantationescapee, cynical, always assuming
the worst in people and lacking social skills, leading to a very sheltered life. Through
Sethe s struggles with her past, her relationship with Paul D, Beloved and the
dysfunctionality of her family, Toni Morrison is able to represent the African

same time frame. By portraying the African American community as dysfunctional

African Americans faced. With the character Sethe and the inhabitants at 124, serving

Poisonwood Bible Comparison
Throughout many novels different characters are sent to a new place to explore
and find new things in life. An excellent example would be how the characters in
the novel Poisonwood Bible explore a new lifestyle in the Congo. While they are
there they have to learn how to adapt to a new life, and they try and teach the
Congolese people how to worship the God, Jesus Christ. Even though the Congolese
people may believe in different Gods, the Price family, especially Nathan feels that it
is their duty to teach them different ways. Thus the poem We Grow Accustomed To
The Dark by Emily Dickinson, is similar because it is talking about how people
become accustomed to a different lifestyle just like the Price family did in the

This further impacted the children Rachel and Leah, being the oldest daughters in
the family. Rachel was a daughter that loved her father and she at first felt that he
was the best person in the world. She would always follow him around and be his
little princess, that was until she started to see the bad things that he started doing in
the dark, mysterious place they were living in. She started to see how arrogant and
defensive he became throughout the community and how he threw hissy fits. She
realized that enough was enough and she needed to grow accustomed to this new
place by herself, just like the narrator did in the poem. This is because she knew that
her dad was just going insane and he wanted too much power. She now felt bad for
her mom and what he had done to her, and wanted to side with her mom to get out of
the community that they were in because they had enough of it. Another thing that
happened in the Congo while she was there was something absurd and scarring to
say the least. Her sister had started to hunt with the men for meat and Rachel saw
what they did when they killed the poor animals lives. Rachel was so startled and
appalled that she had to become a vegetarian for a short time while they were there.
This just shows that she had to adapt to a new lifestyle because she could not think
of eating a poor animal that had an innocent life, but her sister Leach could have cared

Aquaeductus Case Study
To my consideration, I d advice Pamphilius the following. First of all, I d recognize
that when field C was sold to Pamphilius it should have been established what
benefits the field had. However, this data is not given to me.
Servitude is an interest disconnected from the proprietorship of an inferior property,
being the smaller one the servient estate or inferior and the superior one the dominant
estate (which would be field A, the one with the river flow) leaving field C to be the
inferior estate in this case. The dominant estate has the Ius in re which is the right in
property in common law. This means that the estate has either jus in re propria, the
right to use the land in any way the owner likes to within legal parameters; or jus in
re aliena which includes security interests for inferior estates. Again, we lack the
information on which type of right Catullus would have in this case.
I do believe that Catullus is right to claim that the servitude had extinguished
because at some point he owned fields A and C. Although he might not have
established that he would take away the water from field C, at that point the field
was his, and he could do what he pleased with it and ... Show more content on

hard to achieve a change in an already made contract, especially not knowing if at
any point the water being there or not being there was not discussed. In the case
they did, then he surely could get it because it would make the contract void, as the
buyer is getting less for his money, so less value. In the case that it wasn t discussed
or noted at any point in the contract, the chances are very low for Pamphilius to get

conclusions about the priorities that the characters value by distinguishing between

aware of his surroundings because he notices Athena standing alone at the gate of
his house. The critic states that Telemakhos respectfully invites his guest into the
house, offering her food and drinks. I believe that just like how sacrifices are
offered up to the gods, directly welcoming a stranger who is at one s doorstep into
the house and offering them food and shelter pleases the gods. Telemakhos s first
reaction is described, He went straight to the front gate, indignant in his heart that a
stranger had stood so long at the gate. He stood near her, grasped her right hand,
and took her bronze spear (Homer qtd. in Race, 81). According to Race,
Telemakhos feels awful having to witness his home being destroyed by suitors and
at the same time making a stranger stand at his gate unwelcomed. In contrast to the
suitors, who are probably much older than Telemakhos, I can see that Telemakhos is
wise and understands that invading someone else s house is wrong. Similar to his
father, Telemakhos is quick to say Greetings stranger. You will be welcome among
us, and after having some dinner, you will tell what you need (Homer qtd. in Race,

Burning the American Flag Essay
Burning the American Flag
The American flag consists of thirteen horizontal stripes, with seven red stripes
alternating among six white. In the upper left corner there is a rectangular blue space
that contains fifty white stars. The thirteen stripes symbolize the thirteen original
colonies of the United states of America and the stars represent the fifty states of the
Union. White is said to symbolize purity and innocence. Red symbolizes strength
and courage, and blue symbolizes vigilance, perseverance and justice. The flag in
simple words is a piece of cloth that has meaning. The flag stands for everything in
our country s past.

In 1989 the United States Supreme Court ruled that burning the American flag was a
form of symbolic speech and therefore was protected by the United States
Constitution. What would happen if they took away the right of freedom of speech?
How would people express their feelings and emotions towards the government?
Many people would feel as though the government was attacking the basis of one of
our nation s strongest beliefs. Many would argue over this situation. Protestors
would raise all sorts of questions. What is a free nation that does not allow political
disagreement? What is a free nation that will not allow itself to be spoken out

principals?
There are always at least two different viewpoints on certain principles that raise
question. A neutral position is also held when people can t choose between two
different standpoints. The position that I hold is a neutral position. I defend certain
beliefs for burning the flag, and not burning it. In my opinion, I think that burning
the flag is one of the worst things that a citizen can do for its country. I feel that if
you burn your own country s flag it is somewhat of a betrayal on the country s
history and past. Many people have pride in their country, as many American s do,

and without a doubt is a great innovation. But when it comes to relying on them it
can certainly affect us and what is surrounding us negatively. Today, cellphones are
one of the major part of our society. We always see someone texting or making a

Moral Reasoning And Moral Judgments
Over the last decades, research in moral psychology was dominated by the role of
reasoning in making moral judgments (Kohlberg, 1969; Turiel, 1983), while a more
recent research emphasizes the role of automatic emotional processes (Blair, 1995;
Haidt, 2001; Pizzaro Salovey, 2002). Therefore, there has been a great tension to
whether intuitions or reasons play critical role in making moral judgments. Haidt
(2001) argues moral reasoning involves a conscious process, which means that the
process is slower, effortful, deliberate, and controllable, while moral intuition process
occurs unconsciously and thus, the process is faster, automatic and effortlessly.
Thereby, Haidt (2001) contends reasoning still play a role in moral judgments,
nevertheless, it is most likely as a post hoc attempt to justify one s intuition driven
moral judgments. However, there are still some studies maintaining reasons as the
master in making moral judgments (Kohlberg, Levine, Hewer, 1983; Kuhn, 1991).
Kuhn (1991) describes people still follow their reasoning to make judgments even
though it might contradicts with their initial intuitions. Greene, Sommerville,
Nystrom, Darley, and Cohen (2001) propose dual process theory in order to
consolidate these two approaches. They explain that both reasons and intuitions run
in parallel or mutually competitive roles in making moral judgments. They further
describe that intuitions or known as automatic emotional responses drive
deontological judgments, while
Rivalry Of The Global E Commerce Market
Rivalry in the Industry: (Medium to High)
E Bay is one of the dominant players in the global e commerce market; but because
of low entry barriers E Bay is currently facing competition in its different market
segments. Therefore, this market is full of competitors such as Amazon, Craigslist,
Yahoo! Auctions, and other new players such as Alibaba, Jet.com and
Overstock.com. The battle between e commerce players engage in price based
competition to persuade buyers, therefore these players limit their ability to raise
prices. Also, due to relatively low barriers to entry, new companies continue to crop
up in the global e commerce market, which intensify the competition. However, one
of the biggest competitor of eBay is the drop off industry,... Show more content on

There are also low exit barriers in this industry. EBay needs to keep up with
consumer needs and wants along with keeping an eye on its competitors in order to
be successful.
Threat of New Entrants: (Medium)
This is an Internet driven service industry, where there is a low barriers to entry.
Hence, it is relatively easy for newer player to enter the market and start selling
products, but it is difficult for newer players to gain brand recognition and attain high
ranking on the most popular search engines. The online payment mechanism has
relatively higher barriers for new entrants since security is a vital for online payment,
making it difficult for new players to attract new customers. PayPal has benefit eBay
significantly, since it has positioned them as a strong contender in the market.
However, Amazon, Apple and Alibaba could potentially challenge PayPal s strong
market position, because these three competitors are strong enough and have enough
resources to compete on a large scale, consequently restricting newer players to an
extent.
The main barriers in this field come from government regulation. The government
does not allow some products to be sold in certain states or countries and so any
online auction site needs to make sure they do not violate certain laws. EBay has
developed different policies that prevent someone from buying an item that would
violate their local government. Even though eBay acts the middleman

To him the reality was of life lay in external things, whereas for me the only reality

Dunstan is in a search for inner truth and spirituality, and Percy is searching for outer
beauty and appearances.
amp;#9;Another way in which the two contrast is that while Dunstan leaves a lot of
events in his life up to chance, Percy wants everyone, and everything in control in
his control. When Percy wants Dunstan to develop some nude pictures of Leola,
Dunstan makes the comparison of himself and Percy to the myth of King Candaules

lose Leola to Dunstan. This is shown when Leola later tries to seduce Dunstan at a
Christmas party.
amp;#9;Although Dunstan and Percy are very much opposites throughout the novel,
there is one area in which they are both the same neither one of them is able to form
warm, lasting human relationships. At the beginning of their marriage, Percy is
unable to be faithful to Leola, but claims that since he quot;still loves her, the
encounters with the other ladies didn t really count. quot; Percy is still unable to be

The Condition Of Homelessness For A Pregnant Woman
The condition of homelessness for a pregnant woman creates all kinds of
complexities to their care. The Nurse Family Partnership and Invest in Kids program
in Denver is a provider dedicated to forming relationships with patients and sending
skilled nurses to help at risk mothers and their children. The health assessment needs
of homeless pregnant women revolve greatly around prenatal health, nutrition, mental
health, substance abuse and physical abuse screenings.
A very important issue with homeless pregnant women is lack of access to medical
care, and lack of support overall. Pregnancy rates of homeless women are upwards of
22%, and 75% of those pregnant and impoverished women reported having
obstacles to receiving care, according to a study done by Thomas Jefferson
University (Rand, 2011). Low income, impoverished, and completely homeless
women remain faceless, nameless, and inaudible, making them invisible to the
modern world at times. Their pregnancies are often in conjunction with substance
abuse and abuse in their relationships. The incidence of physical abuse in low
income women is shown to be higher during and after pregnancy than before
pregnancy (Saltzman, 2015). Homeless pregnant women also not only have higher
incidences of STD s, but they also tend to be younger, without insurance, uneducated
or have a low level of education, and unmarried (Stanhope, 2012). They are also at a
much higher risk for multiple pregnancies overall (Crawford, 2012). They are the
Disadvantages Of Child Soldiers
Introduction
For most of human history, war has generally been conceptualized as a domain of
adults in uniform. However, in the past decades, a disturbing trend has surfaced
children, both boys and girls, are increasingly taking up arms. While this is not an
entirely new attribute of warfare, the use of child soldiers in history has been an
exception and not a regular feature as it appears to be today. According to
international law, a child soldier is defined as any individual who is aged below
eighteen and part of an armed organization. A conservative estimate of the number of
child combatants stands at 300,000 and this excludes the other half a million children
who perform non combat duties in the army. Approximately 75 percent of armed
conflict in the world involves children fighters. The worrying situation is best
expressed by Peter W. Singer: Children, as young as 6 and 7 years old, are serving as
combatants on every continent but Antarctica. Given these statistics, one can
speculate that there may actually be underlying military advantages in using children
to fight wars, and this is exploited by those who employ them. This is the premise
which I base my research on. Adopting the understanding that ... Show more content

Genetic Viological Markers, Cytological Markers And...
Introduction
The traditional genetic analysis within populations by morphological markers,
cytological markers and biochemical markers has not been very efficient when the
selection objective involves several characteristics with unfavorable genetic
correlation (Schwerin et al., 1995). These complications might include interactions
between genes in the same locus (dominance) or in different loci (epitasis) or
between specific genes and the environment (genotype by environment interactions)
(Drinkwater et al., 1991). Also, the important phenotypic traits like rate of survival
are expressed very late in the life to serve as useful criteria of selection (Dodds et al.,
1996). To overcome this phenotype based genetic markers problem led to the... Show

A molecular marker may be a short DNA sequence such as a sequence surrounding a
single base pair change like single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) or a long one
like minisatellites (Jeffreys et al., 1985) and microsatellites (Jarne and Lagoda,
1996). That leads to the development of a new type of marker that is single
nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) (He et al., 2003). However, AFLP markers are
devoid of dense marker maps, so still used for QTL mapping and genetic diversity
studies in species (Nicholas, 1997; Van Haeringen et al., 2001). With time the
RFLPs was replaced by microsatellites for building genetic maps in human and
animal species. Factor responsible for development of microsatellites are firstly, at a
single microsatellite locus large number of alleles are found thereby, developing a
high heterozygosity values enabling to reduce the number of reference families to be
used for building the map and secondly, the possibility to perform genotypes by
simple PCR followed by allele sizing on polyacrylamide gels (Dinesh et al., 1995).
Some points should be taken into consideration when using molecular markers for
genetic studies. As for molecular biologists the genotyping procedure should be
simple and cheap in order to generate the vast amount of genotyping data as often
necessary. From the statistician s angle some characteristics are most important like
the dominance relationships, information content, neutrality, map positions or genetic

Propaganda is the use of techniques to easily sway or mislead individuals. It is
campaigning and convincing people with what is trying to be advertised. The word
propaganda came into use in 1914 during the end of WWl but the use of propaganda

Comparison Of Best Buy And Target Market
Best Buy, as of today, is a specialty retailer of consumer electronics, home office
products, entertainment software, appliances and related services in a superstore
format. It operates retail stores, commercial Web sites, and mobile stores in the
United States, Mexico, and Canada. In 2009, Best Buy was dominating the consumer
electronics business, but the Richfield based retailer is facing increasing competition
from the likes of Wal Mart, Amazon.comand Target (Moylan, 2011). Target increased
their electronics floor space in about half their stores. They are emphasizing on
televisions, video games and mobile phones. In addition to offering television
installation services, free tech support, and an electronics trade in program to keep up
with their top competitors.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Best Buy started advertising they would match Walmart s price. At one point,
Walmart was running just five percent behind Best Buy and appeared to be hitting
their target market as planned. Best Buy had big plans for China and Europe.
However, they failed in both markets because the consumers did not like Big Box
stores. As of 2011, Best Buy closed all their stores in China and merged with Five
Star who sells cheaper products`. I believe Best Buy made a good choice due to
what their target market desired. China Market Research Group, pointed to a few
things: the Chinese won t pay for such expensive products unless they re a brand like
Apple; there s too much piracy in the market which reduces demand for electronics
products at a fair market price (Groth, 2011). The Europeans and Chinese do not want

The Problem Of The Viral Game Pokemon Go Essay
Introduction
Many times larger business engage in unintentionally advertising, or viral advertising,
thus saving money that can consequentially utilized for advertising to a specific
market, market research, and the actual advertisement placement. When someone
uploads a video that goes viral on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or any
other mainstream social media outlet, and the business is able to utilize that video to
springboard an advertising campaign hence, unintentional viral marketing. Yet
sometimes a viral sensation can help small or local businesses, such as in the case of
the viral game PokГ©mon Go. Many of the Poke stops are at geocache sites which
many times are historic buildings, unique art, or specialty shops. Does secondary
unintentional viral marketing revive small businesses, or are the financial effects such
marketing short lived causing a potential financial crisis?
Statement of the Problem
Word of mouth or peer to peer advertising has gotten a high tech update over the
years. As smartphones, laptops, and tablets have become more affordable, advertisers
have found new ways to garner product awareness, product identity, and business
awareness into the hands of virtually everyone. Occasionally, there is marketing leak
to small businesses which have been receiving an increase in foot traffic due to viral
game applications on smartphones.

My Grandfather s Flag Is Important To Me
Our lives are full of stories, many of which include artifacts. I will be sharing three
that have great importance to me. My first one is my grandfather s flag. U.S soldiers
who served in their life receive a flag when they pass away. The flag is usually pretty
large, and after their funeral it is folded 12 times, and each fold has a particular
meaning. After it is folded, it is typically placed in a triangular frame and given to
the fallen soldier s family. His flag is of meaning to me for the reason that it is a
piece of my grandfather s life that I can see every day. I ve gotten to honor it every
day of my life, for the reason that it is cherished in my house, and displayed on my
family s bookshelf. It also means a great deal to me since it shows me what true
bravery is. My grandfather grew up in northern Alabama, and the joined the U.S
Air Force. His bravery, valor, and dedication to America reminds me 24/7 just how
God has a plan for us, and that he always will. To conclude, with my grandfather s
flag being displayed and honored in my house, it goes to show what it means to serve.

The thin blue line is meant to symbolize Law Enforcement. In the chaotic world we
call society today, people are definitely not as supportive of Law Enforcement as
they were 10 15 years ago. The thin blue line is important to me over the reason
that my dad was a Police Officer for 21 years of his life. Recently, he retired from
the force and has settled on a much safer job, being a dining room manager at the
Original Oyster House. The thin blue line is also very important to me, given he
faced many dangers of the force, and I feel as if civilians don t consider how hard
they work to keep us safe.Given these points, I wear this thin blue line bangle to

The Commissioner Of Social Security Essay
Service Delivery
The Commissioner of Social Security is responsible for administering the OASDI
program and service delivery. They are not there to collect FICA taxes. FICA taxes
is performed by the Internal Revenue Service of the Department of the Treasury. The
Secretary of the Treasury supervises the preparation and mailing of benefit checks or
direct deposits on debit cards and banking accounts. They also provide management
and investment of the trust funds. Social Security numbers is an identifiable method
used for posting and maintaining the earnings and employment records of persons
covered under the Social Security program. Employers are in charge of withholding
FICA taxes from their employees paychecks. They must forward these amounts, along
with an equal amount of employer tax, to the IRS on a regular schedule (Old Age,
Survivors, and Disbiilty Insurance, 2016).
If an insurer is employed, employers must file wage reports through (Form W 2)
with the Social Security Administration showing the wages paid to each employee
during the preceding year, at the beginning of February. The W 2 form will be
shared with the IRS. If an insurance holder is self employed persons report their
earnings for Social Security purposes and pay SECA taxes in connection with their
Federal income tax return. Information from self employment income reports is
sent by IRS to SSA. These reported earnings are placed in the worker s record at SSA
headquarters. The payments are certified by SSA
Toni The Superhero
Toni the Superhero is a story book introducing the main character, Toni, to first
time readers. The very first panel shows Toni and then tells us that he s a
superhero, then it goes on showing us some of Toni s favorite activities. Toni is
shown playing with his friends, eating healthy food, swimming in a swimming
pool, rescuing an animal and helping his mom around the house. The book then
shows us Toni panel in his Superhero costume with a T across the chest and telling
us that Toni is terrific. This is a really cute storybook; my favorite thing about it is
that Toni, a young African American child is portrayed as a superhero. Already the
book earns props for diversity of its characters. It also shows Toni rescuing a
stranded cat and helping out, generally being friendly and playing well with others.
It sends a very positive message that terrific kids do good things. An impressionable
young child will see that and want to be as awesome as Toni.... Show more content on

Namely, right in the beginning it tells us that Toni is a superhero, but doesn t
really tell us what his superpower is. You could argue that saving animals, helping
out and generally being an agreeable little guy is his superpower. This isn t a major
issue as kids in the intended age range for this book aren t likely to question it, but
I can imagine an older child bringing it up. Another (also minor) issue is the font
and graphics; while I loved the character drawings themselves, I thought the title
font had a bit of a home spun feel to it and could be improved upon slightly to make
it more eye catching and perhaps a bit more
Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
Many debt collectors continue to use deceptive, unfair and abusive practices to
obtain money owed to a company. It is believed these practices lead to marital
instability, job losses, individual privacy invasions and personal bankruptcies, and
many feel protections in place fail to protect consumers. For this reason, the Fair Debt
Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) was put into place. Laws do vary by state, yet debt
collectors in every state must comply with this act when attempting to collect these
monies. For this reason, many turn to an attorney specializing in Collections Law for
assistance when they need to obtain compensation for an unpaid debt. One must be
aware, however, that this practice does not apply to commercial debt.

Inheritance Risk Essay
Out of date wills
Considering Rod and Rachel have not updated their Wills, this presents the issue of
the assets of their estate potentially no longer going to the beneficiaries that they
would currently like or intend to receive.
As Rod has been in two previous marriages, there is the risk that in the event of his
passing that due to his Will no longer being valid due to divorce (Allianz.com.au,
2017), unintended beneficiaries could stake a claim on his estate (intestate) resulting
in Rachel receiving a reduced or nil benefit.

History Vs. Hollywood Essay
Film makers use many historical events to spark up and idea for a movie. One
historical event that is commonly used is war. One advantage a film maker has when
using war as a movie plot is that there is already a lot of drama in war. This may
seem like a good advantage for the film maker, however focusing on all of the drama
of warleaves much of the actual info. When watching a war movie, you may feel
like you have an understanding about the war, but when you really compare a war
movie to an actual war you find that there is a lot of factual information left out. One
may ask why would directors and filmmakers leave out the facts of war and focus on
the drama? After reading The Faces of Battle by John Keegan and reviewing war
movies... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I read the section about the battles that took place during WWII. It brought to my
minds that in real life. There are more important things during a war than finding a
private Ryan. War is a huge event and the little things like finding a person to keep
the family name going is too small to include in war history. This is what separates
the movies from the real life. Another difference is they don t show the actual
planning it takes to start an attack or the inelegance that is needed to set up the
perfect defense barrier to prevent the advancement of the enemy soldiers. A real
battle can last days, weeks, months, or years, compared to movie war that lasts not
even a day and has one guy or one platoon take on the entire other side. The
casualties of real war is tremendous, rather than movies where you see almost the
same characters in the whole movie accomplishing some of the most intense tasks
with only one or two dying. Also, in movie war you don t see the other side s
horror. You think all the opponents are bad horrible people that deserve to die,
when they are just soldiers doing their job and the only reason we are fighting them
is because of a bad leader or government. So in the movies every enemy deserves to
die and should be shown no mercy, but the actual thing about that is that the enemy is
just like any other soldier. And furthermore when the good guys lose a battle in a
Examples Of Paranoia In The Crucible
Everyone has some sort of fear or something they are scared of. Fear is a strong
emotion that compels people to think and act in response to it. Fear is also unique
in the fact that everyone has a different fear, and a different way of dealing with
them. Some may say can help you survive, but we don t live in the caves anymore.
Fearis a harmful emotion because it can cause paranoia, it can limit your potential,
and it can make you prejudice.
Paranoia is a mental condition that can develop from fear. In the play The Crucible
the paranoia of being accused of witchcraft has plagued the whole town. Many
people get accused and get killed just because of what someones says so there is a
lot of paranoia in the town. We were dancin in the woods (Miller pg.576). That
quote shows that the girls accused of witchcraft say that they were dancing
because they were paranoid of the consequences of the practice of witchcraft.
Paranoia can cause people to lie and do anything to not get caught, and in that
quote you can see that the girls said they were just dancing in the woods. But later
in the story we find out that it was a lie and they lied to stay alive and not get
accused. The paranoia that someone experiences as a kid affects them their whole
life. In the article What Are You So Afraid Of? the author Akiko Busch talks a little
about his fear of snakes that started when he was a kid and he still is scared to this
day. I wonder if my enduring panic half a century
Contributions Of Confucianism
Confucius was a great Chinese philosopher, but he was also a teacher, editor, and
politician. He was born on September 28, 551 BC, and died in 479 BC. He was
most well known as Confucius, but his real name is Kong Qiu. After his death,
Confucianism became the official imperial philosophy of China. Later after his
death, he was regarded as a sage who deserved greater recognition, and his teachings
became more popular. He accomplished many great things in his life, and died a
successful man. Confuciusenvisioned a type of government where people strived to
succeed. He thoughtthat how you go about trying to achieve something, is more

Confucius said, The progress of the superior man is upwards. He wanted their
leaders to better their government, so he took control, and told the leaders how they
should act. Teaching leaders how to behave was important to Confucius, because
he wanted to bring order to society, and he wanted good people who could do that.
He wanted the rulers to not be cruel anymore. Confucius said, The man, who in the
view of gain, thinks of righteousness; who in the view of danger is prepared to give
up his life; and who does not forget an old agreement however far back it extends:
such a man may be reckoned a complete man. This was his real idea of a good
leader. Confucius did not want the leader to be selfish, and he wanted them to
keep true to their word. His opinion was that the superior man s words should never
be incorrect. He wanted the leaders to be truthful to the people, and not tell them
lies. Another thing Confucius thought made a good leader was when someone who
is in conduct of himself maintains a sense of shame, and does not disgrace his
prince s commission, deserves to be called an officer. This means that he thought if
a man had these qualities, he was considered a good officer. He thought good
leaders should maintain order by making sure what he said was carried out
appropriately, as it is said in the Analects. He also said that in intercourse with others,
be strictly sincere. Confucius did not want
Nietzsche And Platonism Essay examples
In Twilight of the Idols Nietzsche writes, quot;My objection against the whole of
sociology in England and France remains that it knows from experience only the
forms of decay, and with perfect innocence accepts its instincts of decay as the
norm of sociological value judgments. The decline of life, the decrease in the power
to organize, that is to tear open clefts, subordinate and super ordinate all this has
been formulated as the ideal in contemporary sociology. quot; (p 541). The culture of
Europe at the time of Nietzsche s writing was experiencing a general decline in
vitalitywhich was exemplified in Christianity (Platonism) and anarchy or nihilism.

The Christian, Nietzsche claims, is similar to the nihilist. He denies the natural rank
order of the world in favor of an unrealistic vision of the equality of all souls. This
rejection of super and subordination is a symptom of resentment against reality. It is
the dissatisfied cry of the weak who, instead of acting in accord with their own
temperaments, revolt against nature and commit a kind of arrogance against the
world. These advocates of communal life thought that humans would enjoy expanded
freedom and happiness with the abolition of property, leadership, unequal social
status and privilege. But, Nietzsche points out, the complaints and desires of the
Christian nihilist are the complaints and desires of those who want revenge on a
world that has denied them what they are too weak to seize. quot;...there is a fine
dose of revenge in every complaint. quot; (p. 534). The nihilist tries to find someone
at fault for the suffering that he undergoes, and in this fault finding is exhibited the
weakness of one who cannot simply move forward with his own life. The only
difference between the Christian and the nihilist is that the Christian finds fault in
himself while the nihilist finds fault in others.
A world full of Christians is a world in decline. Desiring release from suffering in the
here and now, Christians imagine the existence of illusory, utopian worlds beyond
this one: the Christian Heaven, or a Platonic realm of
The Supply Chain Involved From A Growing Grape
With the global wine industry expected to generate almost $292 billion in 2014,
Wine production and its supply chain are no doubt big business. The supply chain
involved from a growing grape to an uncorked bottle is one that involves many
intricate details. Because of the popularity of wine, grapes are in fact the largest fruit
crop on Earth. But that is not indicative of the complex and interlacing processes that
are necessary to grow the proper grapefor wineproduction. Proper weather
conditions, the right mixture of soil, and balanced pruning are just the tip of the
iceberg in just the first step of the entire wine supply chain. These same grapes that
have been tended to as if they were patrons of a restaurant having their own fine
glass are then picked and crushed only to be placed into containers to begin the
next step of their journey. A long series of processes including, cold soaks, must

science and agriculture join forces. In a scene worthy of a science fiction movie in
a mad scientist s labratory, these grapes slowly become wine. Finished product can
be bottled or transferred in bulk to its next destination but will eventually land in a
glass where a final customer enjoys the fruits of all the labor involved in this
harmony of moving parts. This analysis will be a detailed report of exactly how this
supply chain works and how all of these moving parts work to bring the consumer this

of native americans derived from a, mispronounced or misunderstood native word
that described the river along which our forebears lived or some particular physical

that s exactly what this tribe is about, settling on low valleys of the Coos and river
waters. As can be seen, the Coquilles are a very distinctive group of native
americans due to their unique living styles. There are several features that make this

The group has a unique lifestyle that makes them known as food gatherers and
hunters. Most of their settlements were located along lower parts of streams and
rivers as well as the tidewaters. This made travel easy, because all they had to do
was follow the river home, and they would rarely get lost. Another positive of the
settlement near running waters was the abundant supply of fish year round. The
general hunting area was located on the highlands away from the water. These
techniques were not a secret, many tribes used this style of hunting and gathering.
Typically, the villages that were permanent were occupied by the members of a
family or band that lived in houses built of cedar timbers and planks. Villages have
several buildings and housing options to make it unique. Usually there was a long
house used for communal purposes and sheds used for either sleeping or storage.
If there was a married couple, they received their own house to live in with their
families as well. Near hunting areas, shelter was no where near as permanent, and
housing was a lot less elaborate, considering they were made of branches under trees,
just enough shelter to keep away rain and wind and to provide shade.
The Coquille Indian Tribe is a very interesting tribe with unique
The Concept of Freedom an Article by Joel Feinberg Essay
While many words throughout the English language can paint a vivid image or
idea, the word freedom is perhaps one of the most ambiguous. It is defined as the
following: the fact of not being controlled by subject or fate; the power of self
determination attributed to will ( Freedom ). Its definition cannot be simplified into
one dimension, and its interpretation is completely contextual. The reason that the
definition from the Oxford English Dictionarywas given prior, was due to its
broadness; making it a more well suited definition to describe the concept of
freedom. In analyzing freedom, similar words will be discussed, freedom s
characteristics described, and examples given, in order to illustrate the word and

A prisoner of war may feel ecstatic when the war is over and he can finally go back
home to his family; free from his oppressors. A conservative may feel outraged by the
idea of abortion being legalized, but those supporting it may feel relief for women;
knowing they are now free to act with their own bodies accordingly. Freedom evokes
different emotions in different instances, and most words cannot achieve that to the
same extent that freedom can. Another attribute associated with freedom, as
illustrated before, is its versatility. Freedom can not only evoke many emotions, but
can have multiple meanings. It can be representative of its synonyms is one sense
and its antonyms in another. In the abortion example, the legalization of abortion
could be liberating to those who support it, and restrictive to those who believe that it
is immoral, unholy, destructive to society, et cetera.
In Joel Feinberg s article, The Concept of Freedom, he discusses how the word free,
without any context, does not shed any light on what makes something free.
According to Feinberg, most general ascriptions of freedom are best understood as
elliptical, or abbreviate for some longer expression...we may have to add
specifications of what someone is free from, or is free to do, or more precisely who it
is whose freedom is at issue (10). Without specifics, people will remain uncertain of

Essay On Russian Revolution

  • 1. Essay On Russian Revolution Crafting an essay on the Russian Revolution can be a challenging endeavor, requiring a nuanced understanding of historical events, socio-political contexts, and the intricate dynamics that shaped this pivotal period. The complexity lies not only in narrating the chronology of events but also in analyzing the multifaceted causes and consequences that defined the revolution. One must navigate through a plethora of primary and secondary sources, ranging from political manifestos and historical documents to scholarly interpretations. The task involves sifting through contrasting viewpoints, reconciling conflicting accounts, and discerning the underlying motivations of key figures. Furthermore, the essay demands a careful examination of the economic, social, and cultural factors that fueled the revolutionary fervor, adding layers of complexity to the analysis. The challenge deepens when considering the multitude of perspectives on the Russian Revolution – whether it be the Marxist interpretation, focusing on class struggle, or the geopolitical perspective, highlighting international influences. Crafting a cohesive narrative that encapsulates the diverse aspects of this historical upheaval requires a deft hand at synthesizing information and presenting a well-structured argument. Moreover, the essay must transcend mere factual reporting; it should delve into the ideological underpinnings, exploring the ideologies that clashed and converged during this transformative period. Discussing the role of key figures such as Lenin, Trotsky, and the Bolsheviks demands a nuanced understanding of their political philosophies and the impact of their decisions on the course of history. In conclusion, writing an essay on the Russian Revolution demands not just historical acumen but also analytical prowess. It necessitates the ability to synthesize information, critically evaluate sources, and present a compelling narrative that captures the essence of a complex historical event. Despite the challenges, the process can be intellectually rewarding, providing a deeper understanding of the forces that shaped the course of Russian and global history. For those seeking assistance in navigating this intricate terrain or requiring support with essays on a myriad of topics, it's worth exploring resources like HelpWriting.net. Such platforms offer tailored writing services that can provide valuable insights and help streamline the essay writing process. Essay On Russian Revolution Essay On Russian Revolution

Boycott of Nike, Walmart, and other retailers for allegedly manufacturing goods under abusive working conditions in developing countries can also be highlighted in this context. Influence of CSOs on government CSOs have been instrumental in influencing government to incorporate environment and labor provisions in the North American Free Trade Agreement and the World Trade Organisation (WTO) negotiations, emboldening governments to allow banning of genetically modified organisms and food products and forcing World Bank to excuse the debt of developing countries. MEDIATORS OR MODERATORS: CSOs act as mediators or moderators where they collaborate with corporates jointly working for the betterment of the community. • 4. Cornel West s On Black-Jewish Relations In On Black Jewish Relations Essay, Cornel West starts by analyzing the reasoning for why Black Jewish relations in the United States seem to be deteriorating over the years. These ongoing competitive fights are called Black Anti Semitism and Jewish Anti Black Racism. Consequently, West points out that both Jewish and African Americans have come from a hard past where they have experienced oppression, humiliation and discrimination many times by other ethnic and/or racial groups. West then alleges that at one time, African American and Jewish leaders like Martin Luther King and Abraham Joshua Heschel worked for this problem and decided to form alliances between the two ethnic groups. Unfortunately, this strong helping relationship was totally unsuccessful and the two ethnic groups went opposite direction, making the tension between them rise steeply. Furthermore, West conveys that hatred of Jews began at the center of medieval and modern European cultures (such as Christianity), and was based on religious and social motives. One of these reasons is the Christian stereotypes of Jews as Christ killers. Nevertheless, my stand on this particular issue is that I both agree to a certain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, African Americans were discriminated by white people, so that they believe Jews, who most have white skin color, are also involved. For this reason, African Americans become sensitive for everything that relates to racism. However, the question is: If most Jews were not white skinned, would African Americans really unite with the Jews? Second, African Americans and Jews initially belonged to the same level of allies. Nonetheless, Jews climbed the American social ladder quickly and successfully, which makes African Americans envious of Jews. Therefore, African Americans now seem to despise the Jews and see them as their
  • 5. Julie Lechevsky s Poem Dandelion Belittlement In the poem Dandelion, by Julie Lechevsky, a child narrates her view on how dandelions have more importance in the world than what is distinguished of them. In the first stanza, the narrator says that [her] science teacher was speaking, which implies that she is still in school and has a more youthful view on life. Additionally, the author contrasts the dandelion to be unlike the Venus fly trap and different from the Calopogon pulchellus, where the word pulchellus derives from the Latin word pulcher, meaning beautiful (4, 5). The child s thoughts on dandelions relate back to her personal life where she dictates [they go] on television/ between the poison squirt bottles and But that s how life/ parachutes/ to my home ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the final stanza the narrator says I wish I could grow like a dandelion, to enunciate the deeper aspirations in life (30). That simile relates the poet even further to the thought of the dandelion being part of her, by saying that she wants to be a dandelion herself. The narrator is the tenor, who wishes she could exhibit the growth in the way the vehicle, a dandelion, appears to. Adding on, the poet compared the condition of a person s life to the life of a dandelion, in ways of how weeds might not be beautiful on the outside, but they tend to be strong and grow faster than the stereotypical flower. The use of personification is presented when the poet states that her parents will perpetually watch her because [she is] their jewel (18). The public does not have the opportunity to notice the strength the narrator may hold because her parents keep a close eye on
  • 6. Brief Summary Of Buttercup And The Princess Bride Once upon a time there was a young girl who lived on a farm and for the longest time it didn t seem like she would amount to anything. This girl s name was Buttercup and she fell in love with the farm boy, Westley. Westley had to go to America to make money so him and Buttercup could have a wedding, but he was said to be killed by The Dread Pirate Roberts. After this happened, Buttercup swore she would never loveanother, but one day the Princeof Florin, Prince Humperdink, had told her that she must marry him. My personal favorite lesson in the novel is that it s alright to lie if it s for a good reason. To start off the story, Goldman tells the readers that his father read the story to him while he was sick. The readers get sucked into this heart warming story and want to read the rest of it, only to find out that the whole story was built on a lie. Goldman wrote the story himself but he makes more of a connection to the audience if he says he was sick when he heard the story. The whole foundation of the story is a lie but none of the readers seem to care since the novel is such a great story. The end of the book is not a final slam the book and now there isn t anything further to think about kind of book. Goldman s father lies to him about the ending and just says that they live happily ever after. It is hard to tell a kid that the couple has to spend their life on the run from Prince Humperdinck. After all, we all lie to our children to make them happy. We tell them that the Tooth Fairy left the quarter under their pillow, and the Easter Bunny left all the eggs in the yard, and finally everyone s favorite, Santa Claus left the presents under the tree. It makes much more sense to tell the silly little lie to make the kids happy then to tell the truth and watch the light drain from their happy

  • 8. How Television Has Affected America Around the world, The United States is widely known as a leader in mass media production, like television and movies. There are very few inventions that have affected America as much as the television. Before 1947, the number of TV s in the US could be measured in thousands, and by the late 1990 s about 98% of homes had at least one televisionset in it, which were on for on average, more than seven hours a day. The Typical American spends about 3 5 hours watching TV a day. TV became a way for Americans to either escape their lifestyle, relate to it, or keep up with current events. It has become a tool that the US uses to relate to each other Television sales were started in the late 1940s,after they started appearing in the largest cities. TV ownership was originally a big city thing. Of the 102,000 TV sets in the US in 1948, two thirds were in New York. Even though a television set would cost around $400, it was still Catching on like a case of high toned scarlet fever, according to a March 1948 edition of Newsweek Magazine. This early on, TV was still just an experiment, radio was still the number one source of entertainment. As more TV sets began to be sold, people came to wonder what sort of programs would be shown. • 9. Egil s Saga Essay The author most likely intended for Egil s Saga to be a historical documentation of Scandinavia, its culture, and several of its inhabitants. The tale could also be seen as a folk tale, set in a realistic setting with real people, but the events are skewed and not quite right. The epic accomplishes the first possible intention through its many characters, the use known locations, and basing the majority of the tale around two individual families that would have been well known around the time it was written. However, the tale is not entirely accurate, which strengthens the idea that it was more of a folktale. Throughout the epic the audience is introduced to two families, beginning far before the birth of the man who would attributed to the title. The tale then follows these families through the events that led up to the main plot of the epic, going so far as to keep detailed track of who married who and where each character came from. An example of this would be the detailed description of Olaf on page 168 in chapter 79. This introductionnot only... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was due to most people being unable to read. Only those with enough money could afford to get an education and learn how to read their own language. This meant that only a small portion of the population would be able to read Egil s Saga. However, these educated individuals could read the story aloud in Icelandic to a crowd. With this in mind the story was most likely spread primarily through word of mouth. This is also shown through the style in which the piece was written. Egil s Saga is quick paced and exaggerated, like a folk tale version of a family story. This stylistic choice would keep an audience tuned in to the story and unsure of when to walk away from it. Each chapter is filled with action and lacks any real downtime. Someone is always up to something that is at least mildly exciting. This keeps most readers, or audience members, on their
  • 10. Good People Good People It is difficult and complicated to define a good and a bad person. We all have different opinions on what is the right thing to do and what is the wrong thing to do. People have their own set of personal unwritten rules also called ethic which they live by. However sometimes the person himself does not know what he thinks is ethical right or wrong because he has never have to deal with the situation before. In the short story Good People which is written by David Foster Wallace, we get to see what goes through a boys mind when he has an ethical dilemma. The Movie Pulp Fiction By Quentin Tarantino The movie Pulp Fiction(1994) was directed by Quentin Tarantino is regarded as one of the best movies ever made and especially for the gangster film genre it is quite unique. It can be argued that Pulp fiction is or isn t a gangster movie but there are enough signs to prove that it s definitely is a gangster film. This movie focuses rather on the morality of decisions and about the character s internal conflict and the karma that the character s receive. Not only is there karam associated with their actions but a chance for redemption . All of these things add for a wonderful gangster movie but it is missing some very conventional aspects of the genre that definitely set it apart from the rest. The first time that the characters are seen with the questioning of morality is in the very beginning of the film with Vincent Vega(John Travolta) and Jules(Samuel L. Jackson). The conversation starts out about their bosses new wife Mia Wallace(Uma Thurman) and how was laying her hands on her in familial way and gave her a foot massage. This caused Marcellus Wallace(Ving Rhames) to throw Antwone out the window four stories and give him permanent nerve damage. Jules thinks that reaction that Marcellus has was too far and that it was just foot massage, while Vincent says I ve given a million ladies a million foot massages and they all meant something and we act like they don t but they do, and that s what so fucking cool about them . Emerson eventually grew up to also become a leader in the Church. The social environment of Boston at the turn of the nineteenth century would progressively be stamped by the conflict between its more seasoned conservation values and the radical change developments and social optimists that were risen in the decades leading through the 1840s. Emerson was one of five surviving children. Waldo, as Emerson was called, entered Harvard at age fourteen, instructed in the summer, held tables, and with his brother Edward, composed papers for other understudies to pay his costs. Graduating in the center of his course, Emerson instructed in his brother William s school until 1825 when he entered the Holiness School at Harvard (Waldo, 1983). Emerson also opened his own school in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. The design of Emerson s mental life was molded in his early years. Ralph Waldo Emerson became known as the voice of intellectual culture in the United States. Case Study On Aquaeductus Antonella Carducci Artenisio Professor Bart Wauters European Legal History October 15th, 2015 Aquaeductus Case Study To my consideration, I d advice Pamphilius the following. First of all, I d recognize that when field C was sold to Pamphilius it should have been established what benefits the field had. However, this data is not given to me. Servitude is an interest disconnected from the proprietorship of an inferior property, being the smaller one the servient estate or inferior and the superior one the dominant estate (which would be field A, the one with the river flow) leaving field C to be the inferior estate in this case. The dominant estate has the Ius in re which is the right in property in common law. This means that the estate has either jus in re propria, the right to use the land in any way the owner likes to within legal parameters; or jus in re aliena which includes security interests for inferior estates. • 32. Moral Reasoning And Moral Judgments Over the last decades, research in moral psychology was dominated by the role of reasoning in making moral judgments (Kohlberg, 1969; Turiel, 1983), while a more recent research emphasizes the role of automatic emotional processes (Blair, 1995; Haidt, 2001; Pizzaro Salovey, 2002). Therefore, there has been a great tension to whether intuitions or reasons play critical role in making moral judgments. Haidt (2001) argues moral reasoning involves a conscious process, which means that the process is slower, effortful, deliberate, and controllable, while moral intuition process occurs unconsciously and thus, the process is faster, automatic and effortlessly. Thereby, Haidt (2001) contends reasoning still play a role in moral judgments, nevertheless, it is most likely as a post hoc attempt to justify one s intuition driven moral judgments. However, there are still some studies maintaining reasons as the master in making moral judgments (Kohlberg, Levine, Hewer, 1983; Kuhn, 1991). Kuhn (1991) describes people still follow their reasoning to make judgments even though it might contradicts with their initial intuitions. Greene, Sommerville, Nystrom, Darley, and Cohen (2001) propose dual process theory in order to consolidate these two approaches. They explain that both reasons and intuitions run in parallel or mutually competitive roles in making moral judgments. They further describe that intuitions or known as automatic emotional responses drive deontological judgments, while

Therefore, this market is full of competitors such as Amazon, Craigslist, Yahoo! Auctions, and other new players such as Alibaba, Jet.com and Overstock.com. The battle between e commerce players engage in price based competition to persuade buyers, therefore these players limit their ability to raise prices. EBay needs to keep up with consumer needs and wants along with keeping an eye on its competitors in order to be successful. Threat of New Entrants: (Medium) This is an Internet driven service industry, where there is a low barriers to entry. Hence, it is relatively easy for newer player to enter the market and start selling products, but it is difficult for newer players to gain brand recognition and attain high ranking on the most popular search engines. The online payment mechanism has relatively higher barriers for new entrants since security is a vital for online payment, making it difficult for new players to attract new customers. PayPal has benefit eBay significantly, since it has positioned them as a strong contender in the market. However, Amazon, Apple and Alibaba could potentially challenge PayPal s strong market position, because these three competitors are strong enough and have enough resources to compete on a large scale, consequently restricting newer players to an extent. The main barriers in this field come from government regulation. The government does not allow some products to be sold in certain states or countries and so any online auction site needs to make sure they do not violate certain laws. EBay has developed different policies that prevent someone from buying an item that would violate their local government. Even though eBay acts the middleman

The health assessment needs of homeless pregnant women revolve greatly around prenatal health, nutrition, mental health, substance abuse and physical abuse screenings. Pregnancy rates of homeless women are upwards of 22%, and 75% of those pregnant and impoverished women reported having obstacles to receiving care, according to a study done by Thomas Jefferson University (Rand, 2011). However, in the past decades, a disturbing trend has surfaced children, both boys and girls, are increasingly taking up arms. While this is not an entirely new attribute of warfare, the use of child soldiers in history has been an exception and not a regular feature as it appears to be today. According to international law, a child soldier is defined as any individual who is aged below eighteen and part of an armed organization. A conservative estimate of the number of child combatants stands at 300,000 and this excludes the other half a million children who perform non combat duties in the army. Approximately 75 percent of armed conflict in the world involves children fighters. The worrying situation is best expressed by Peter W. Singer: Children, as young as 6 and 7 years old, are serving as combatants on every continent but Antarctica. Given these statistics, one can speculate that there may actually be underlying military advantages in using children to fight wars, and this is exploited by those who employ them. A molecular marker may be a short DNA sequence such as a sequence surrounding a single base pair change like single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) or a long one like minisatellites (Jeffreys et al., 1985) and microsatellites (Jarne and Lagoda, 1996). That leads to the development of a new type of marker that is single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) (He et al., 2003). However, AFLP markers are devoid of dense marker maps, so still used for QTL mapping and genetic diversity studies in species (Nicholas, 1997; Van Haeringen et al., 2001). With time the RFLPs was replaced by microsatellites for building genetic maps in human and animal species. Factor responsible for development of microsatellites are firstly, at a single microsatellite locus large number of alleles are found thereby, developing a high heterozygosity values enabling to reduce the number of reference families to be used for building the map and secondly, the possibility to perform genotypes by simple PCR followed by allele sizing on polyacrylamide gels (Dinesh et al., 1995). Some points should be taken into consideration when using molecular markers for genetic studies. As for molecular biologists the genotyping procedure should be simple and cheap in order to generate the vast amount of genotyping data as often necessary. From the statistician s angle some characteristics are most important like the dominance relationships, information content, neutrality, map positions or genetic

It is the dissatisfied cry of the weak who, instead of acting in accord with their own temperaments, revolt against nature and commit a kind of arrogance against the world. These advocates of communal life thought that humans would enjoy expanded freedom and happiness with the abolition of property, leadership, unequal social status and privilege. But, Nietzsche points out, the complaints and desires of the Christian nihilist are the complaints and desires of those who want revenge on a world that has denied them what they are too weak to seize. quot;...there is a fine dose of revenge in every complaint. quot; (p. 534). The nihilist tries to find someone at fault for the suffering that he undergoes, and in this fault finding is exhibited the weakness of one who cannot simply move forward with his own life. The only difference between the Christian and the nihilist is that the Christian finds fault in himself while the nihilist finds fault in others. A world full of Christians is a world in decline. Desiring release from suffering in the here and now, Christians imagine the existence of illusory, utopian worlds beyond this one: the Christian Heaven, or a Platonic realm of
  • 53. The Supply Chain Involved From A Growing Grape With the global wine industry expected to generate almost $292 billion in 2014, Wine production and its supply chain are no doubt big business. The supply chain involved from a growing grape to an uncorked bottle is one that involves many intricate details. Because of the popularity of wine, grapes are in fact the largest fruit crop on Earth. But that is not indicative of the complex and interlacing processes that are necessary to grow the proper grapefor wineproduction. Proper weather conditions, the right mixture of soil, and balanced pruning are just the tip of the iceberg in just the first step of the entire wine supply chain. These same grapes that have been tended to as if they were patrons of a restaurant having their own fine glass are then picked and crushed only to be placed into containers to begin the next step of their journey. A long series of processes including, cold soaks, must adjustments, adjustments, fermentation, and yeast addition are where complex science and agriculture join forces. In a scene worthy of a science fiction movie in a mad scientist s labratory, these grapes slowly become wine. Finished product can be bottled or transferred in bulk to its next destination but will eventually land in a glass where a final customer enjoys the fruits of all the labor involved in this harmony of moving parts. This analysis will be a detailed report of exactly how this supply chain works and how all of these moving parts work to bring the consumer this

This group of native americans derived from a, mispronounced or misunderstood native word that described the river along which our forebears lived or some particular physical attribute of the surrounding estuary environment, (Tribal Heritage). Not to mention, that s exactly what this tribe is about, settling on low valleys of the Coos and river waters. Most of their settlements were located along lower parts of streams and rivers as well as the tidewaters. This made travel easy, because all they had to do was follow the river home, and they would rarely get lost. Another positive of the settlement near running waters was the abundant supply of fish year round. The general hunting area was located on the highlands away from the water. These techniques were not a secret, many tribes used this style of hunting and gathering. Typically, the villages that were permanent were occupied by the members of a family or band that lived in houses built of cedar timbers and planks. Villages have several buildings and housing options to make it unique. Usually there was a long house used for communal purposes and sheds used for either sleeping or storage. If there was a married couple, they received their own house to live in with their families as well. Near hunting areas, shelter was no where near as permanent, and housing was a lot less elaborate, considering they were made of branches under trees, just enough shelter to keep away rain and wind and to provide shade. The Coquille Indian Tribe is a very interesting tribe with unique
  • 56. The Concept of Freedom an Article by Joel Feinberg Essay While many words throughout the English language can paint a vivid image or idea, the word freedom is perhaps one of the most ambiguous. It is defined as the following: the fact of not being controlled by subject or fate; the power of self determination attributed to will ( Freedom ). Its definition cannot be simplified into one dimension, and its interpretation is completely contextual. The reason that the definition from the Oxford English Dictionarywas given prior, was due to its broadness; making it a more well suited definition to describe the concept of freedom. In analyzing freedom, similar words will be discussed, freedom s characteristics described, and examples given, in order to illustrate the word and some of its many uses.... A conservative may feel outraged by the idea of abortion being legalized, but those supporting it may feel relief for women; knowing they are now free to act with their own bodies accordingly. Freedom evokes different emotions in different instances, and most words cannot achieve that to the same extent that freedom can. Another attribute associated with freedom, as illustrated before, is its versatility. Freedom can not only evoke many emotions, but can have multiple meanings. It can be representative of its synonyms is one sense and its antonyms in another. In the abortion example, the legalization of abortion could be liberating to those who support it, and restrictive to those who believe that it is immoral, unholy, destructive to society, et cetera. In Joel Feinberg s article, The Concept of Freedom, he discusses how the word free, without any context, does not shed any light on what makes something free. According to Feinberg, most general ascriptions of freedom are best understood as elliptical, or abbreviate for some longer expression...we may have to add specifications of what someone is free from, or is free to do, or more precisely who it is whose freedom is at issue (10). Without specifics, people will remain uncertain of what sort of
