Topics For Argument Essays
Writing an essay on the topic of "Topics for Argument Essays" can be a challenging endeavor,
requiring careful consideration and research. The difficulty lies in the vast array of potential
subjects that fall under the umbrella of argumentative topics. Selecting a compelling and relevant
theme that not only sparks interest but also allows for a nuanced discussion adds an extra layer
of complexity.
The process begins with the need to delve into diverse sources, ranging from academic journals
to reputable news articles, to gather information and insights. Crafting a thesis statement that
encapsulates the essence of the chosen topic while leaving room for counterarguments is another
hurdle. Striking a balance between providing a strong stance and acknowledging opposing
viewpoints requires finesse to ensure a well-rounded and persuasive argument.
Structuring the essay involves organizing ideas logically, presenting evidence coherently, and
maintaining a smooth flow throughout. Each paragraph must contribute to the overall argument,
with transitions seamlessly guiding the reader from one point to the next. Achieving clarity and
coherence in writing is a continual challenge, demanding meticulous attention to detail.
Furthermore, finding the right balance between depth of analysis and conciseness is crucial. The
word limit poses constraints, requiring writers to distill complex ideas into succinct statements
without sacrificing substance. This demands effective communication skills and the ability to
convey complex concepts with clarity.
Finally, the essay's success depends on the writer's ability to engage the reader. Developing a
compelling introduction that captures attention, maintaining interest throughout the body, and
crafting a memorable conclusion all contribute to the overall impact of the essay.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the topic of "Topics for Argument Essays" involves
navigating through the intricate process of topic selection, research, thesis formulation,
organization, clarity, conciseness, and reader engagement. It is a task that demands not only
writing proficiency but also critical thinking and analytical skills. For those seeking assistance or

Customer Service At The Real Estate Industry Essay
1.Introduction
Internet is an important component in the development of real estate, and plays a
key role in fierce on line real estate sites competition. The concepts of customer
service are central to the success of on line real estate companies. Existing research
recognizes the critical role played by customer service. Customer service in the real
estate business is evolutionary, rather than revolutionary. One step forward is the
simple realization that your current customers are potential gold plated, low cost
ambassadors the bottom line lifeblood of your company. [Kathleen McKenna
Harmon, 2002] Surveys such as that conducted by Penny Patterson (2009) placed
that Customer service at the center of the business and said: The needs of our
customers were, and still are, paramount. Therefore, I think customer service is also
at the heart of on line real estate sites. On line real estate services become a trend, as
buyers can get listings based on the criteria they set with online computer real estate
services. [Kerwin, Ann Marie
,1992] The main challenge faced by on line real
estate companies is about how to gain customers through fierce websites information
competition, I would like to add great importance to combining on line and off line
customer service together to increase the trading numbers.
My main reason for choosing this topic is personal interest. It is my experience of
working in real estate companies that has driven this research. It is not easy for a

Teen drinking and driving
Drinking and driving is one of the biggest social issues for teens across the United
States. Getting behind the wheel of a vehicle after consuming alcohol is a very
dangerous thing no matter what age you are. However, teens do not think about the
consequences of drinking and driving until it is already too late. Many things
contribute to this growing problem of teen drinking and driving. First, there is a lack
of education about drinking and driving in schools today. Next, peer pressure is
difficult for many teens to resist. Finally, the access that teens have to alcohol and to
vehicles is not monitored. According to blah blah study, 000% of high school
students admit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Simulation plays display the damages that can be done from drinking and driving.
Hosting these simulation plays will help young adults understand the consequences
of driving after consuming alcohol. Such a program has been used by local Law
enforcement to help make students aware of the dangers of drinking and driving,
especially around Prom and Graduation. However, this program could be used during
other times of the year...so on.
Another problem that teens face on a daily basis is peer pressure. Teens face these
pressures every day about simple things such as who they like or dont like, what
games they play, what they wear, etc. These may seem harmless, but when it comes
to peer pressure about more dangerous things, the concept is the same. Teens face
peer pressure to drink alcohol. 00% of teens say that they feel the effects of peer
pressure according to some study....
To help teens deal with the pressures they face from their peers, schools could start
support programs that include safe zones for meetings, for talking with others who
are facing peer pressure, or for talking to counselors or resource officers about the
issues they are facing. There could also be an anonymous way to exchange dialog
with these resources so that teens could feel safe reaching out for help while still
remaining unknown by their peers.
A third issue that contributes to teens drinking and driving is their
Online Dating Research Paper
Effects of Online Dating on Relationships In the old ages, dating was considered to
be sacred. It was only permissible for the adults that had the rights to have a sexual
partner. The sacred nature can be considered to be a conservative nature of the
society regarding the religion, customs, and laws. As a result, getting a partner was a
nightmare considering the fact that people had to rely on gathering places such as
religious meetings, school and social interaction points such as bars and hotels to
meet up with new people. This is without mentioning that there were no convenient
means of communication apart from the slow mode of sending letters. With difficulty
to getting a new partner, relationships were considered to be even more sacred,...

When more online dating sites get into the market, there will be a devastating decline
of commitments between spouses. From a personal experience, I have a married
friend who subscribes to an online dating site called Match.com. This friend spends
most of his time on this site interacting with other people while ignoring his
responsibility of spending more time with his family. As a result, his marriagenow is
not stable. His wife complains he is not showing any commitment towards their
relationship and marriage. Slater (2013), in his article, points out that he has
interviewed online dating company executives. From the interviews, the executives
suggested that an increase in dating websites would decrease commitment in a
relationship. Gian Gonzaga, who is a research scientist from eHarmony which is a
conservative site stated that; the good thing about online dating is that people are
free to get into a new relationship, learn new things and more likely choose a better
person from a pool of people. Again he criticizes it by arguing that online dating
creates a shortcut for people in relationship to quit the moment they feel it s not
working (Slater, 2013). Slater (2013) also adds that Dan Winchester the founder of
free dating site based in the UK pointed out that the older we get, the more
experience we have. For example, men have more experience than women when it

Supermarket duopoly and Price Wars
Woolworths and Coles strong power is becoming the deciding factor of Australia s
economic health. Both of these are supermarket giants which are eliminating the
competitors from the market and, the local manufacturers and farmers are also
feeling pressurized. 1 They have brought in the position of duopoly in the market
wherein for certain service, industry or commodity only two suppliers, businesses and
organizations dominate. Woolworths and Coles are squeezing the supplier s margins
as their market share is growing continuously. 80% of the share of the Australian
grocery market is held by both of them together and globally also they hold unique
positions. 1 With 96% of the active trading business and employment to over five
million Australians, small businesses highly contribute to the Australian economy.
The small local shops struggle to compete and the consumer s favourite brands
disappear in duopoly which is prevalent now. The two supermarket giants
University Of Pennsylvania Vs University Comparison Essay
When it comes to choosing a university, there are many qualities people have to know
in order to make the right choice. For example, how much it cost, where it is located,
the ranking, the environment, and more. Founded in 1927, the University of Houston
is the leading public research university in the vibrant international city of Houston
(UH at a Glance). In contrary, Universityof Pennsylvania is a private institution
founded in 1740 (University of Pennsylvania). Both the University of Houston and
the University of Pennsylvania are great schools that have similarities and
differences, such as tuition, academic programs, student life, and sports program.

Pennsylvania). University of Pennsylvania, as informed, has been an institution for
much longer than University of Houston. It might be more expensive because it is
ranked in the top ten best colleges. Unlike UH, University of Pennsylvania is more
successful on School of Education, School of Medicine, and some similar to the
University of Houston, for example like School of Engineering (University of
Pennsylvania). All of these programs are great, from both universities. They are
providing top majors and making sure their students succeed. Everyone might think
University of Pennsylvania is more difficult, but it is all on how much the students
put in effort. Similar to University of Houston, students do not have to live on
campus, but the percentage of people living off campus is lower than people living
in school property (University of Pennsylvania Academic Life). Even though they do
provide housing like every other college, students still decide to get their own home.
With the tuition and fees, pretty sure their dorms are expensive too. The environment
might be the same but it is all depending on how the students set up their schedule

Macaws Research Paper
In conversation with one of the Macaw trainers at the Animal Kingdom exhibit, I
was told to be careful in choosing the caging material type and surrounding
environment (even a tree) for these Beautiful Macaws. They are known to be very
destructive to trees in their aviaries, and are quite capable of biting into a coconut
shell with their powerful beaks, so their cage must be heavy duty, typically Zoo
Mesh or 1:1 steel mesh. The macaws in the images here were trained to fly in from
more than a mile away, get their treats, and then take off and fly one foot above the
heads of the people in the audience, which they did very nicely; all twenty of them!
Macaws can have a 4 foot wingspan, giving the ability to fly at thirty five MPH. The

Elements Of A True War Story
A true war story is rather difficult, if not impossible, to share when it goes beyond
one s imagination. Regarding such a story, one morally sound aspect about it is that
it lacks morality or meaning to it. Extracting facts from a true war story is a
daunting task because what seems to happen is what actually occurs. In what is to
follow, I will tell one awful true warstory. The story begins on Tha Ke Island during
a war hiatus. To Bunk and Trench, this is a desperately needed time to get away
from the war. American soldiers stayed at the base camp to play board games. Bunk
and Trench goofed around, but they were just kids. They didn t know about the
dangers of the war. The silly game they played involved pretending to be soldiers.

Naturalist Themes In Stephen Crane s A Mystery Of
Heroism
Naturalism Essay Stephen Crane is a Naturalist. Naturalists believe an individual s
life is determined by environment, chance, and heredity. They also believe that free
will is an illusion and that people should endure their suffering with quiet dignity.
Lastly, Naturalists believe survival of the fittest and natural selection govern people
as well as nature, and people resort to the animal during a crisis. Crane uses literary
elements to create Naturalist themes in A Mystery of Heroism and An Episode of
War. Although both of the stories have Naturalist themes, Crane uses different
elements to create them. In Crane s A Mystery of Heroism he uses literary elements
to create Naturalist themes. One main belief of Naturalists is that someone s life is
determined by environment, chance, and heredity. Crane uses the setting and
characters to create this theme. In the story it says, Too, he wondered why he did not
feel some keen agony of fear cutting his sense like a knife. This quote shows that the
main characteris not afraid. The setting of the war is one of the reasons he does not
feel fear. He has probably been in a more fearful situation since he has been in the
war. If he had not been a soldier and been in this setting he would be more fearful.
Crane uses characters to create this main idea by showing the other characters who
argue with Collins until he goes to the well. In A Mystery of Heroism it says, Of
course, yeh will! Yeh ll run through that there

The Benefits Of Time Travel
Although time travel has long been since considered as fable, there have been studies
and theories that appeared supporting the time travel. Einstein s theory of relativity
supports time travel and with this scientists have come up with theories of time
travel. Other theories and many experiments have been conducted to try and prove
the possibility of time travel for humans. Einstein s theory of relativitydetermined that
the speed of light within a vacuum is constant no matter the speed at which the
observer is traveling and with this found out that space and time were intertwined
together in a continuum identified as space time. In the theory of special relativity,
time is said to move slower or faster depending on the observer.... Show more content

Travelling to the future is said to be easy. Einstein s theory of special relativity
shows that for people who are moving relative to one another time passes at
different rates, although the effect is only considerable when you travel near the
speed of light. Let us say that you travelled in space at about 99.5% of the speed of
light. The year you have spent is space would be lesser than the time that passed on
Earth until you get back home. Many years have gone by on Earth while you have
only spent a few years in space. Travelling to the speed of light cannot be yet
achieved as of today s technology. There would be a great need for an
unimaginable amount of energy to travel near the speed of light. But time travel to
the future has already happened. Cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev travelled through
time and holds the longest amount of time spent in space with 803 days. He
orbited around the Earth travelling at around 7.66 km/s. Because of the high speed
travel and length of time he spent in space; he arrived back in Earth 0.02 seconds
in the future which is also due to time dilation. Although, he only travelled seconds
in the future and not like the 5 years or more in the future he was still able to arrive
earlier without travelling in the speed of light. Time travel can also occur in
gravitational fields as stated in the theory of general relativity. Einstein predicted that
time passed more slowly for objects in gravitational

vast and humid area where thousands of species of mammals, fish and insects have

the largest area of deforestation where football fields after fields are taken down a

generation can be prominently analyzed from the commodities derived from
logging; to the negativity it can cause the environment as a result of erosion. One of

Now it makes sense that in order to get a pack of paper, thousands of trees become
an everyday use of humans, and some don t take into account the hurt its causing
mother earth for one sheet of paper. Along with paper plantations, there are also
timber and fiber plantations. Mahogany is found throughout the whole rainforest,
and as we all know it is also a very, very nice and expensive piece of furniture. But
no one seems to consider the fact where the lumber comes from. The same trees
brought down and logged are used for its beautiful lumber that today is being used
to provide even the fanciest house with very expensive furniture; therefore being a
major cause of deforestation for the same claim humans have for such beautiful
lumber. Lastly, after cattle have soiled the grounds of the area where it roamed,
this land gets turned into fields after fields of cultivation. first a rainforest area is
logged for its valuable lumber, then burned for cattle grazing, and as the land
becomes exhausted, plowed up for crops such as soybeans a good sum up of the
process of cultivation by Tim Hirsch from World Watch. Now you may ask yourself
what is cultivated in the Amazon well there are two major types of cultivation
throughout this massive and vast rainforest. One of them is soy fields also a major
export throughout the world, with big fields of soy also comes lots of cultivation
equipment. Throughout the miles and miles of fields

The Impact Of Nde On Food Industry
Introduction
This report includes role of NDE and examples of application of NDE in food
industry. The purpose of NDE in the food industry is to analyze food quality and
safety to ensure a happy and health customer, and in turn, increase profitability of the
producer. Food quality is a sensory property of food including appearance, taste,
nutritional value (nutrient content), health benefit (functional ingredient) or safety
(physical, chemical, biological). Certain basic factors are commonly used to
characterize quality: appearance, texture, taste, aroma, color. Many quality factors of
food are highly relative to physical properties of the products, it s necessary to

Using low intensity ultrasound to evaluate foods quality was first employed in 60
years ago; until recently, the full potential of the technique has been realized (Povey
and McClements, 1988). Examples of using of such technologies are found in the
location of foreign bodies in food, edible fats and oils were analysis by the size of
droplet in emulsions (Sherwin and Nicol, 1998). Ultrasonic analysis is based on the
relationship between measurable properties of foods including attenuation
coefficient, velocity and impedance, and physical properties of foods containing
structure and composition and physical state. Physical, mechanical, or chemical
effects of ultrasonic waves are capable of altering material properties. For example,
accelerating certain chemical reactions through generation if immense shear,
pressure, and temperature gradient in food medium where they were propagated (Zou
et al., 2007).
Ultrasound inactivation of microorganisms
The mostly widely used techniques to inactivate microbes in food industry are
conventional thermal pasteurization and sterilization. Thermal processing does kill
vegetative microorganism and some spores (Peng et al., 2012), however, the
effectives of this processing rely on the treatment time and temperature which are also
proportional to the amount of nutrient loss, deterioration of functional properties of
functional products and development of
The Bubonic Plague
The Black Death initially appeared on the Asian steppes as an epidemic among
marmots. The fur of dead animals were collected and sold in bundles to customers
from the west. It is possible that the fleas from the fur of dead animals jumped to
potential human hosts. The human outbreak arose alongside the Volga River in the
eastern part of Russia. From there, the plaguespread west to the Don River and down
to the Black Sea, soon maneuvering its way to the Mediterranean ports of Europe
(Ampel 1991, 659).
The Black Death is known to have originated in Kaffa in the Crimea by 1343. The
plague spread from the surrounding lands of the Golden Horde then southwards into

THE LINK BETWEEN STOCK PRICES AND THE ECONOMY
Economic theory proposes that there should be a strong link between economic
activity and stock prices, given that its price is the discounted present value of the
firm s payout. If this payout is finally a function of real activity, such a link should
exist.
There are several theoretical propositions suggesting how stock prices can have a
direct impact on economic output, which further strengthens the link amongst these
two variables.
1.The first link was proposed by Tobin in 1969. The focus is on the impact that
share prices have on the cost of capital. The coefficient that captures this is called
Tobin s Q, which is given by the ratio of market value of current capital to the cost
of replacement capital. When the prices of shares are high, the value of the firm to
the replacement cost of its capital is also high i.e., the Tobin s Q is also high.
Furthermore, this leads to rise in investment expenditure and thus causes a rise in the
aggregate economic output as for firms it is easier to finance their investment
expenditures. This is because investment would be simpler as it would require a
lower share offering in a situation of a higher price for

man can face the same problems as an old fisherman, just different circumstances.
Today I will be telling you about an old fisherman and the sea. There was once a
fisherman that went by the name Santiago. Santiago was young at heart but
physically Santiago was an old man. He loved doing the things young guys did but
physically he could not keep up anymore. Santiago was seventy four years old. I

In the first part, firstly, we are going to give a general overview on easyJet s assets,
then mainly concentrate on its critical capability which formed its core competence.
Essentially, historical comparison approach was adopted to evaluate the organization

Eu Law Essay
The Treaty of Lisbon (ToL) was signed by twenty seven member states (MS) on 13th
December 2007 and entered into force on 1st December 2009 ending several years of
negotiation about institutional issues. Below we will look at how the ToL has
reformed the European Union (EU). The changes introduced by the ToL lie
predominantly in the areas of constitutional and institutional reform. However,
institutional change is the key driver behind the ToL. We will look at how the ToL
has brought about these changes.
Initially the ToL was named the Reform Treaty however as Portugal held presidency
at the time they were keen to attach their name to it hence the reason it was called the
Treaty of Lisbon. The aim of the ToL was to:

By replacing the EC the three pillar structure which was introduced by the Treaty
of Maastricht and which characterised the EC was abolished by the ToL. The three
pillars together constituted the EC however the ToL abolishes the three pillar
structure and instead the EU will only be one title. Prior to the ToL coming into
force the EC and the EU had different statutes and did not operate the same decision
making rules. The ToL will end this dual system and the EU will have its own legal
personality. This will allow the EU to act more effectively, coherently and credibly in
its relations with the rest of the world.
The institutional framework of the EU has been significantly altered. The need for
transparency, better democratic accountability and enhanced judicial scrutiny has led
to some important improvements in the EU s institutional make up. There are now
seven EU institutions which are listed in Article 13 of the TEU. These are : the
European Parliament; the European Council; the Council; the European Commission;
the Court of Justice of the European Union (formerly the ECJ); the European Central
Bank; and the European Court of Auditors.
The European Parliament (EP) is the one that has changed the most over the years.
The EP was originally set up by the Treaty of Rome as the European Assembly. The
European Assembly changed name to the EP when the Single European Act came
into force. When it was first set up it comprised of

The Rebellion Of The Jamaica
On October 11, 1865, Paul Bogle and a group of free blacks marched into Morant
Bay protesting a local trail, which resulted in a full scale uprising that caused deaths
and destruction. Free blacks had economic troubles and little to power in colonial
society because of their limited access to resources. By July 8, 1865, the Jamaica
Guardian captured the people s discontent with Governor Edward John Eyre, who
served as British official on the island. In this message of discontent, the people
call for his removal because of his weak, vacillating, and undignified character and
conduct. The people became quite discontent with the British official because of
his actions regarding the Morant Bay Rebellion. He responded to the rebellion with
force and violence by declaring martial law in Surrey County and accused George
William Gordon, a free black businessman, of being part of the rebellion that led to
death. This whirlwind of events caused many to question Eyre s leadership and led to
the establishment of the Jamaica Committee, a group of men from England. This
group wanted to imprison the governor for his actions, but their actions led to his
removal from office.
This event created much havoc and chaos in England and Jamaica because it
disturbed the British masses, which questioned the effectiveness of colonial rule after
the Sepoy Munity of 1857. The cases received a large amount of political and public
attention because two schools of thought existed in the debate. One
Discuss The Causes Of Colonial Rebellion
Thomas Paine (1776), in a time of struggle, reminded Americans that Britain, with
an army to enforce her tyranny, has declared that she has a right (not only to TAX)
but to BIND us in ALL CASES WHATSOEVER, and if being bound in that
manner, is not slavery, then is there no such a thing as slavery upon earth (p. 1). It
is evident that, even in times of struggle, Americans possessed a trait of rebellion
against those in power (especially the British) and common beliefs. Many colonies
were formed on the basis of refuge from British beliefs and the domineering
government. This in addition to the values that America was based upon lead to a
very rebellious revolution. After reviewing the events spanning the time of the early
colonies to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They rebelled from the British to due different ideals, unfair treatment, and the need
to be heard. Historians can see this passion in the Battle of Trenton and the Battle of
Princeton. Washington s troops had suffered a hard winter at Valley Forge but
fought on nevertheless. On Christmas night, Washington and some 2,400 men
crossed the icy Delaware river to fight at Trenton (Carnes Garraty, 2012, p.122). The
defiant spirit of the soldiers helped them get through the night and they beat the
Hessian soldiers who were some of the best soldiers in the world (Carnes Garraty,
2012, p.122). At this point in time, the colonists had rebelled against the British is
every way possible as historians see the raging war for the freedom of the colonies.
After the colonists won the battle at Trenton, they continued to demolish those at
Princeton which, in many ways, gave motivation to the continuance of the war
(Carnes Garraty, 2012, p.122). The rebellious trait can be seen in most all American
colonists involved in the war and up until the
Essay about Hair Dying
Hair Dying
As people look around the different cities of our fair country, one might notice that
many people nowadays are coloring their hair to cover grey or just for the fun of it.
One difference among the younger generation and the older generation is the colors
that are chosen for their hair. The younger generation of this day and age seem to
prefer wild colors such as Infra Red, Mystic Heather, Deadly Nightshade, Tiger Lily,
etc, as self expression compared to the older generation choosing natural shades to
cover the signs of aging. This can be seen in the rising number of young people that
are seen around with these types of wild colors. Not all young people choose the

The website states that these celebrities use the hair colors often. This site is
evidence that the trend of dying one s hair a wild shade exists in the United States.
Other companies are also taking part in the wild hair color business so as to keep up
with the current competition. Companies such as BWild, Hot Head, and even Jerome
Russell are participating in the trend of wild hair color to accommodate both the
younger and the older population.
On the other hand, classic companies such as Clairol, Dark Lovely and L Oreal still
offer the majority of the natural hair colors that one can buy in a store such as Wal
Mart. These companies can have a productive future as long as they are able to
keep up with all other forms of competition. As to my current knowledge, none of
these companies offer outrageous colors such as Pillarbox Red, or AfterMidnight.
Sticking to the traditional colors is not a bad thing because there is still a business
in natural hair colors. People still like to color their hair so it looks like the color
they used to have or a lighter or darker shade of the color they presently have. The
largest group to purchase hair color products in the older generation is women. They
might do this because they see grey coming in or are trying a new look out.
CNN.com knew that hair coloring was a big trend as early as 1996. (Klensch, 1996).
They predicted that the trend would continue on into 1997 but it
The Pursuit of Human Freedom in Kate Chopin’s The...
In Kate Chopin s The Awakening and Charlotte BrontГ« s Jane Eyre, one of the most
prevalent and recurring themes and ideas relates to human freedom. The main
characters in the two novels, Edna Pontellier and Jane Eyre, both long for social,
religious, and sexual emancipation among other things freedom from the constraints
of Victorian society, which have rendered them dependent and inferior to men. While
it is true that both protagonists of their respective novels wanted emancipation, their
living conditions and qualities of life varied widely. Even though both women, Edna
and Jane, wanted emancipation from their respective societies, the conditions that
each woman was subject to were quite dissimilar. Jane had a very malnourished...

In both novels, one of the main obstacles to emancipation for Jane and Edna lie
within society itself. The Creole society in which Edna lived would most likely
have been seen through Jane s eyes as much more free and liberal than the society
she herself was living in. However, being able to look back at both societies, it is
clear that they were both very restrictive, albeit in different ways and to different
extremes. In Jane Eyre s time a woman without money or a husband was frowned
upon and cast down by the masses. In addition, social mobility was almost unheard
of, as was unconformity to religion. In contrast, people living during the time The
Awakening was written specifically women had slightly more leniency in terms of
marriage choices. Even so, complete freedom as we look at it today was
unobtainable. Edna wanted to be herself without having to do anything for anyone
else. Her most noticeable outcry against society was her relationships with Robert
and AlcГ©e Arobin. This sexual awakening was experienced and longed for by
both women, but it manifested itself quite differently in each woman. Edna openly
talked with other men, namely Robert and AlcГ©e and some evidence even
suggests she had sex with AlcГ©e. This is exhibited When he leaned forward and
kissed her, she clasped his head, holding his lips to hers (Chopin 139).
Raoul Wallenberg Research Paper
Raoul Wallenberg is credited with saving the thousands of lives of Jews who were
taken into Hitler s concentration camps during World War II. His devotion and
honored Swedish heroism earned him his recognition we acknowledge today.
He was born on August 4, 1912, three months after the death of his father, Raoul
Oscar Wallenberg. His mother, Maj Wising Wallenberg remarried Fredrick von
Darriel in 1918. Wallenberg s grandfather, Gustav Wallenberg, took care of his
education while he was growing up, having in his mind that he would carry on the

Advantages Of Throw Away Prototyping
Throw away Prototyping Methodology
Introduction:
Throw away prototyping is use to develop or create application as fast as possible.
It helps in creating a part of future application to ensure that a new develop feature is
technically feasible. It is different from sketching, as the sketching is more graphical
and concerned towards the user interfaces and experience and it does not requires or
consist of writing programming chunks or codes snippets.
The throw away prototyping is also called closed ended prototype. It is refers to the
creation of a model that will be discarded rather then making it a part of final
delivered software. It is discarded at the end after completing the project.
A small working model of the software is provided to the end users to conform their
requirements, and to get response or feedback. This small ... Show more content on

Uses
As it gives us knowledge about the defects, issues and problems in early stage of
product development phase so it become more effective and does not give inaccurate
result at the end of the finalizing phase of the product. In this project, the completing
of each phase, step by step of throwaway prototyping methodology is easy and
transition from one phase to other phase is quick and fast.Due to this method, the
project is completed on time with less cost.
Throw away prototyping is useful to use when sketching is not enough, and it
requires to show the working of features or when need to show the actual
performance or response. TheThrow away prototyping has many advantages and it is
efficient to use, but somehow it become difficult and risky when dealing with
stakeholders and have little knowledge of technical background and in context of tuff
deadline and limited resources.

Medical Experiments During Ww2
Throughout WW2, the Nazis conducted many experiments on prisoners in the
concentration camps. The experiments were extremely brutal to the persons being
experimented on. Many of these doctors used their authority to justify the means of
their research . There are various different experiments that were conducted for
supposed benefit to the German army. Experiments conducted by Nazis were
inhumane and traumatizing to those lucky enough to survive. Although the
experiments done on humans during WW2 were absurd, there are some factors that
were beneficial. Some of the data recorded by the Nazis is used in many scientists
works today. For example, Nazi hypothermia studies, for instance, have been cited in
the medical literature for decades, and recently several scientists have sought to use
the data in their own work (Tyson). Another compelling argument regarding the
injustices done to the prisoners revolves around the Nuremberg trials. After the war,
the Nuremberg trials were held for the purpose of bringing Nazi war criminals to
justice (Nuremberg Trials). Laws were also made after the Holocaust to protect
human test subjects of future experiments. On the contrary to the dreadful things
done to the prisoners, few relevant points are presented as positive outcomes.... Show

Hardships In Of Plymouth Plantation
Of Plymouth Plantation by William Bradford is a narrative that discusses the
experiences of the Puritans that traveled from New England to the New World. The
Puritans experienced many hardships while trying to restart their lives in America.
Similarly, Anne Bradstreet from the poem Upon the Burning of Our House, July
10th, 1666 experiences many hardships in her life in the Americas. The Puritans
experienced hardships that revealed the fact that some Puritans acted selfishly in life,
but others were very loyal and kind to each other, on the other hand, Bradstreet
experienced hardships that tested her beliefs and commitment to Puritanideology. The

In the year 1940, Plath s father died due to the gangrene in his leg that was caused
by untreated and possibly an unrecognizable form of diabetes. Plath was greatly
affected by the loss of her father, which inspired her to move to Wellesley,
Massachusetts. Plath achieved a full scholarship to Smith College; however, prior to
attending Smith College, she had already published a story, And Summer Will not

As time progressed, Plath fought many inner, deep battles within herself, which
involved marriage, sexuality, chastity, and her career, thus leading to her mental
breakdown. Her morale did not improve any further or at all when she was rejected
from a summer writing course at Harvard. On April 1, 1960, her daughter, Freida

there was no exit and that she was being held down with nowhere to go and nobody

it in Plath s face. With Plath s deteriorating health and severe depression, she had a
miscarriage while pregnant with her second child in February of 1961. The
following year, she tried for another, and her son Nicholas Farr was born. Meanwhile,
The Importance Of Goals And Academic Goals In Education
Different plants grow in different environments. Their differences are accommodated
by their environment. There should be an understanding that students are the same
way. Each student thrives in different environments of learning. Alicia is a sixth
grade student who is not thriving in her environment. She refuses to participate and
becomes anxious at the thought of school. Academically, Alicia struggles to
coherently express her thoughts, and she becomes lost in mathematical problems.
Alicia is not thriving in her environment. By looking into the specifics of Alicia s
behavior and academic goals, one can see how she will be able to meet her goals and
flourish in the classroom.
Alicia is a bright student, but part of her hardships lie in certain behaviors that
distract her and distance her in school. One example, would be Alicia s reluctance to
answer questions in class and putting her head down on the desk when she is called
upon. In order to focus on this lack of participation, her first behavior goal would be,
Given a short, daily one on one meeting with her teacher to organize and mentally
prepare for the day, Alicia will participate in class three times each day without being
called on, as evaluated by the classroom teacher through a data tracking chart daily.
Breaking this goal down, the first half of the goal would be the modification and
accommodation Alicia will receive. PBIS World provided different interventions for
students that struggle in participation.

When the monster is abandoned by Victor, he is hurt and wondering why nobody
can stand the sight of him. He, like every other living person on this planet, needs to
have some sort of relationship with another human being. This is a very troubling
form of abuse that is very commonly known as neglect. Every person needs to have
human contact, and when they are deprived of that necessity, it causes permanent
brain damage and can even be fatal. In the monster s case, it could even be argued
that neglect is the reason he turned murderous. Although neglect is the major
reason that orphans are disadvantaged, stigmatisms only add to the difficulties. In
most places around the world, orphans are seen only as troublemakers and
hopeless members of society who are susceptible to manipulation. The monster is
seen by everyone he crosses to be a dangerous and scary thing and thus no one is
willing to help him or get to know him. If one single person had made the decision
to go out of their way to help the monster, so many awful things could have been
avoided. With the situation in many poor countries, orphans are avoided or abused
in much the same way. People cross by them every day and never give a care for
them. In the monster s case, he runs away from all contact with the exception of
Victor, but these kids do whatever they can to be accepted. Child abuseand orphaned
children are extreme problems in today s society.

The construction of the Suez and Panama Canals greatly affected overseas trade and

Death And Release In Night By Elie Wiesel
For most of the memoir Night by Elie Wiesel, Elie was determined to remain with
his father. During the early years of the Holocaust, Elie was separated from his
mother and sisters, and the fear of losing his father as well motivated him to keep
them together at all costs. That grit very well may have been what kept him alive.
Eventually, his father s willpower deteriorated along with his health, making him
more of a burden than a tether by the end of the book. That being said, this situation
demonstrates the idea of death and release, a recurring theme present in the
conclusion of Night. In the final chapters, prisoners from Buna on their way to a
liberation camp struggled to survive the grueling journey. Many found death as a sort

how would his father live? This question pushed Elie to continue running throughout
the entirety of the night until the SS Soldiers determined he could stop. He ran so

witnessed someone running away from theirs. Following the events of that night,
another prisoner, Rabbi Eliahu, had asked everyone around him if they had seen

watching him distance himself from his father. When considering the betrayal, Elie

Using Art For A Message
Hannah Tierney

Using Art to Send a Message
For centuries people have used art as a way to express the political views, or used
artistic movements to express certain ideals. This can be seen in the idealized art of
the Ancient Greeks, who strived to perfect the balance between man and nature, and
portray harmony, balance, and democracy. In Nazi Germany, Hitler showcased art that
was un German, anything reflecting Jewish or communist ideology, was displayed in
the Degenerate art show. This movement was used as propaganda; Hitler showed the
public all the art that was not German. Today, many artists mock the
commercialization of the art world and society itself using pop art and othrr consumer
trends in their work.
In Ancient Greece, philosophy and ideology shaped the views of the people living in
the first democratic state. The Greeks never established a single nation; instead, they
lived in city states, and democracy began in Polis, later known as Athens. In Athens,
artists strived to perfect their work and align it to the beliefs of the philosopher
Pythagoras of Samos, who believed everything was based on mathematics and
purification . The Ancient Greeks used their art to promote political, military, and
religious ideology, depicting battle their victorious battles as though they were fought
by the gods. The art of Ancient Greece was centered around religion and perfecting
the balance between man, nature, and the divine.

Consider The Lobster By David Foster Wallace Analysis
American Novelist, essayist and short story author David Foster Wallace uses his
essay Consider the Lobster to tell the reader about his thought provoking visit to the
Maine Lobster Festival. Wallace wrote this essay to show his thought process dealing
with the moral ambiguity of cooking lobster, and the research he did to further
understand the subject. He primarily uses an informational tone with a heavy
emphasis on pathos. He does a fairly good job remaining unbiased and showing the
counterarguments.
Wallace was sent to the Maine LobsterFestival by Gourmet Magazine, he was tasked
simply to write about his experience there. He took this as an opportunity and
decided that the risk he was taking in posing this question to the readers of ... Show

Following this point he points out that perhaps lobsters understand pain but they
don t dislike it and how pain is not distressing them (Wallace 63). He reinstates the
fact that there is a clear difference in pain as a purely neurological event from pain
as actual suffering , the latter requiring an emotional component (Wallace 36). Later
on he states that this means that although lobster s experience pain it is not a
struggle based on discomfort but more of a preference. More akin to you preferring
to sit in a certain spot around the table. These are used to inform the reader of the
physical aspects of the lobster that affect the overall moral ambiguity of the subject.
In his closing statements he takes the time to throw some more thought provoking
sentences in, calling out a part of being a real gourmet (Wallace 64). Wallace
wonders if future generations might look back and see our current eating practices
similarly to how we see tribal sacrifices today. I see this as an extreme analogy but it
has its use in this essay, it brings out the thought that perhaps we should take a step
back from our food and think about
Example Of An Epictetus
What Epictetus means by this is, that you get upset because something doesn t go
the way you thought it would, or that it doesn t follow your beliefs. You have a
false view of the world, and when things don t follow this false view of the world
you get upset. They get upset with others and the world around them. This is because
they have a fictional view of the world around them. If they where to just except that
the world was never going to happen the way they thoughtit would, and if they were
able to just except that the world was never going to happen that way it would make
them happier. This is the same when someone irritates you. It s not the person that
irritates you. It s the fact that this person doesn t follow you own beliefs. Whether
those beliefs are on how the world works or how people should treat you.... Show

If you are able to understand this you will become much happier, because you will
understand that there is no other way that this could have happened and that there
was nothing you could have done to change it. An example of this would be if you
believed that on your birthday your believed that every person you meet should
give you a birthday present, and after going to class no one in class gave you a
birthday present. You would become very angry and irritated with everyone in your
class. But your not angry with the fact that they didn t bring you presents. Your
irrigated by the fact that you thought that everyone was going to bring you a present,
because this was a fictional view of your world and other
Analysis of Joel L. Swerdlow’s 2001 Essay,
“Changing America
In Joel L. Swerdlow s 2001 essay, Changing America, he writes about the current
cultural differences among kids in high school. He goes on to talk about how you
can gather a large variety of kids, coming from all over the world, yet they still
somehow manage to develop the same American Teenager attitude toward life. The
essay talks about how people used to view America as a melting potof nations, and
how over time that view is starting to change. America was founded on change. Past
revolutions were fought to make new ways in which to live life in this country. Our
families all came to America, at one point, to feed into this definition of being an
American. The term melting pot in my mind means structure, meaning what we, as...

There is also the teenagers own personal struggles; friends, grades, money, dating and
even college. At this time in their lives these are the big hurdles that need to be
jumped. In Swerdlow s essay he mentions that the non white kids fight to hold on to
their own individuality. However, when asked what they do on their own time, they
list the same things that the white kids do. This is an example that teenagers are all
interested in the same activities, even though there will always be different ways of
getting those certain things completed. High school is an important time for
developing a sense of who you are as a person. Each kid who starts out high school
will usually asks themselves what they are there to accomplish. For the most part,
many set personal goals for themselves and strive to achieve above and beyond.
However, some are just there for the experience and to see where it takes them. It s
apparent that some kids have an easier time and don t have to struggle with their high
school career. For example, some of the students have followed strong academic paths
that have prepared them for this time in their lives, where as others have struggled
with educational influences and feel unprepared or lost. Swerdlow mentions that the
students, who attend J.E.B. Stuart, are given many chances to improve their
educational foundation in order to

The Political Stage Of Mr. Gandhi
The time lapse between 1919 1939 saw the rise of a man, soon to be known for his
unique approach towards politics. This man, Ghandi, brought about a movement that
started a ripple that would soon turn into a huge tide of anarchy for the Brits. His
politics promoted the concept of Swaraj Self Rule and ignited the flare for
nationalism. This time period also saw the Muslims and Hindus coming together for a
common purpose.
The purpose of this paper is to give a clear idea of what politics was like back in that
time in India. This piece will use a sequential approach of events leading up to the
arrival of Mr. Gandhi on the political stage followed by an exploration into his

Before proceeding, let s have a quick look at the local s attitude towards the British.
The state after the World War 1 was that of a rule without order, trust or sense of
unity. In the state of war emergency, the British passed a bill, Rowlett Act, which
allowed them to arrest and detain an individual without a proper trial. Obvious as it
should be, there were huge protests against this insane bill, violating basic human
rights. One dreadful event that was written down in history with blood came about in
these times. On April 13th 1919, General Reginald Dyer took it upon himself to
disperse a peaceful protest in enclosed space called the Jallianwalla Bagh in
Amritsar. 370 protestors were killed and 1000 were wounded though some argue
figures were much higher. What was further disconcerting was General Dyer s lack
of remorse or repent. On his return home he was lauded and awarded as opposed to
being held accountable for his actions . This added fuel to the fire, and the resent
towards the British started gaining popularity and the Indians decided they had had
enough. They refused to stand by and watch themselves being toyed around like
puppets and being ridiculed not to forget tortured like animals.
It was during these times of unrest that M.K Gandhi made his presence for the first
time. He travelled back to India from South Africa. He was recorded having said that
he could no longer agree with a

Literature Review
Big Data is a useful tool that helps in collecting, analyzing and disseminating any
form of information that may start from simple phones and ranging up to enormous
super computers to analyze the movement of pattern, behavior of people towards data
and patterns that are developed out of data analysis (LaValle, 2013). Data mining
techniques are also aided by the concepts of big data to scoop out some of the
useful information in various fields and researches of study. The pattern analysis
can be aided with the help of text messages via cell phones. It is almost next to

Formal Concept Analysis ( Fca ) Essay
2.7.2Formal Concept Analysis Formal Concept Analysis (FCA), also known as
Galois lattice mining, is a branch of lattice theory that allows identification of
meaningful groupings of objects that have common attributes (Wille, 2009; Ganter
Wille, 2012). It is a data analysis method which enables the discovery of hidden
knowledge in the data in the form of concepts. Godin, Gecsei, and Pichet (1989) have
demonstrated the effectiveness of using FCA for indexing and retrieval as an
alternative to hierarchical classification and boolean query based systems. In FCA,
the data is represented as a formal context which contains objects, attributes and a
binary relation between them. FCA represents relationships by means of formal
concepts and captures them in a concept lattice. A formal concept in the lattice
contains a set of attributes (Intent) and objects (Extent). Thus, it gives a cluster of
objects having common attributes. Definition 1. (нђ№н‘њн‘џн‘љн‘Ћн‘™

How the Relation of the Camera to the Real is Problematized in The Thin
Blue Line and Yuki Yukite Shingun
Documentary films can include every type of discourse about the real world. The
accomplishments of nonfiction film are derived from more than the stereotypical
edited interview segment, and recently have been a totality that is useful as much
for showing reality as it is for expressing the creative visions of its director. It is
possible for the most extrinsic implications to be presented in a way that reflects
individual systemics and personal expression. The innovation of a nonfiction work

This contributes to the rhetorical (sometimes even allegorical) intensity and the style
of Morris. As he has said, There s no reason why documentaries can t be as personal
as fiction filmmaking and bear the imprint of those who made them. Truth isn t
guaranteed by style or expression. It isn t guaranteed by anything. (Bruzzi, 1 10)
Yuki Yukite Shingun, or God s Naked Army Marches On, was directed by
Kazuo Hara in 1988. The story revolves around Okuzaki Kenzo, a Japanese veteran
of the Pacific War (particularly in New Guinea) who seeks past officers to take
responsibility for atrocities committed 40 years ago and acknowledge the truth of
war. When the living relatives of the victims of these atrocities no longer
accompany Okuzaki, he takes the ultimate step to confuse the camera s world with
reality by having actor s play those roles during his sometimesviolent interviews.
Furthermore, the relation of the camera to the real is problematized by the
awareness of the camera that is inherent in this type of interviewing. The theories of
Roland Barthes, a leading 20th century social and literary critic, are the basis for the
dilemma posed by the possible conflicts of the camera and what is real. He explains
the photograph as something that always carries its referent with itself. He goes on to
say that because of this relationship, the image is a constant reminder

Abstract
Patterns of plant successional change in Gatineau Park, Old Chelsea, were studied
quantitatively. The relations between different successional stages of plant
communities and abiotic factors were descried. To test these, we went to the fields,
and worked on two transect in groups of 4. We counted the trees and measured the
diameter at breast height (dbh) for tree with a dbh value greater than 2cm. The dbh
measurements (cm), percentage of fern cover and percentage of ... Show more content

Refer to Bio 2129 Ecology Lab Manual , Lab # 3 Human modification of temperate
forests: Disturbance and succession , pages 4 6.
Modification: Where it says to leave the string at the transect (bottom of page 5), was
modified since we were given the measuring equipment before the lab began.
Results
Figure 1 (a) shows that at site 3a (transect 2), sugar maple is the most abundant tree
species among tree species with dbh ≥ 2cm. (b) shows glossy buckthorn is the
most abundant tree species among tree species with dbh ≤ 2cm.
Table 1 show no statistical significance to the t stat, therefore no significant variation
exists among the quadrats 1+2 and 2+3 for the mean dbh (cm) of sugar maple. So we
fail to reject the null hypothesis. On the other hand, quadrat 1+ 3 shows variation
according to the t stat, therefore the null hypothesis for that quadrat is rejected.
Figure 2 shows that among tree species with dbh ≥ 2cm, sugar maple, iron wood,
red pine are the most abundant tree species at both sites 1 (transect 2), and site 1
(transect 2).
Figure 3 shows that among tree species with dbh ≤ 2cm, sugar maple, glossy
buckthorn and red ash are the most abundant tree species at site 3a (transect 2). Sugar
maple, iron wood, and white ash are the most abundant tree species at

makes a professional name for some doctor and other users. Although the name is
hard to remember, when users spend their money to owe one, they should think it is a
special thing to resolve their problem with erectile dysfunction. It is a prescription

пѓ Price: the price should be $ 11, higher than 1 dollar, because it is better than
Viagra with the durability and more safety; it is also sold with doctor prescription.
пѓ Promotion: Using the media advertising will grow the brand awareness of
Cialis. In addition, they can promote via some magazine ads, like playboy, magazine,

Memories Of My Life
My childhood is full of many fond memories. When I think back to some of the
earliest times, I can only remember tiny sparks and flickers of certain moments.
However, at a certain age, I began to more vividly remember events in my life. The
first family vacation I can fully recall was a trip my family took to Disney World in
Orlando, Florida. When I found out about the trip it was Christmas morning. My
brother and I each got an envelope, which encased tickets to Disney World. I was
ecstatic to go to Disney World because it was a childhood dream come true for me!
When the day of the trip arrived, we stuffed all of our luggage into the back of our
minivan and began our trip to the airport in Charlottesville, Virginia. We waited
three long hours for our flight to leave Charlotteville, but we finally got onto the
plane. I had a feeling of butterflies in my stomach as I waited for the plane to take
off. I sat next to my dad, and he held my hand to take away the nerves. From above
the clouds, everything looked miniature, and I remember feeling like a giant. We
flew from Charlottesville, Virginia to Charlotte, North Carolina. At the airport in
Charlotte, our flight to Orlando was delayed. We waited an eternity, and I wasn t
surprised to find that it was dark outside when we boarded our plane. We flew
through a small city in Georgia, and all of the lights resembled a cluster of glowing
stars. We reached Orlando, Florida around 12:30 AM, and our journey to the Swan

The Correlation Between Amounts Of Time Spent Playing...
What is the relationship between the amounts of time spent playing video games and
your amount of sleep?
Introduction
Nearly every day, you can read articles about urbanized countries throughout the
world, with issues or concerns arising from individuals playing video games for
excessive amounts of time. Individuals form addictions to a surge in excessive or
violent behaviors, commonly found among teens or younger children. Studies
also indicate playing excessive amounts of video games can also have an effect on
your sleeping patterns in a negative way. For instance, playing an extreme amount
of video games prior to going to bed may create a more difficult time in falling
asleep. So, I decided to take on a similar yet different type of study to discover out
how much video gaming an average high schooler plays each night and how this
may affect how many hours of sleep he/she receives. I was unable to find any online
articles for this type of study, so I decided to find out for myself using the high school
population at a local school. As the study began, I did believe that students who
participated in excessive video gaming may receive less sleep.
Statement of Task
The focus of this study was to investigate if the amount of time students spend
playing video games each evening may have an influence on the quantity of sleep the
average high school student receives. To determine this, I requested teachers to allow
me to survey students during school hours in an

David Irving has made many public speeches in which he denies the use of gas
chambers by Nazis to murder Jews; however, he does not consider himself a denier

and damaging, so on September 5, 1996, he took Deborah Lipstadt to court on the
grounds of libel because she had according to Irving; wrongly accused him of being
a denier. Irving is notorious because even though the judge ruled in favor of Lipstadt,
he still argued that he was right and did not accept the undeniable fact that the
holocaustdid happen and that it was one of the lowest points in humanity. Ultimately,
every person has a different way of viewing an event. In the instance of Irving vs...

Even though many still see the election of Trump to the presidency as a positive

Since the election of Trump, hate crimes have seen an increase of 6% which is
alarming given that in the past hate crimes have been decreasing according to the
FBI and SPLC. Some areas that saw the biggest surge were hate crimes among
Muslim Americans, transgendered people, Jews, and African Americans. Some
believe that the spike in hate crimes is because of the country s extreme opposing
views on topics causing a divide between citizens which was motivated by
President elect Trump. Supporters and believers of Trump s extreme views have
been taking Trump s statements and applying them literally by lashing out against
different ethnicities, races, and genders because of what they are, what they
believe in, and who they supported during the election. An example of a hate
crime occurring because of statements made by Trump against Muslims is the
letter a mosque in California got calling for genocide. Some of the more colorful
parts of the letter stated that Muslims are a vile and filthy people , your day of
reckoning has arrived , and He s (Trump) going to do to you Muslims what Hitler
did to Jews (Holly 3). This letter is obviously motivated by religious hatred towards
Muslims and is calling for action against them. It clearly follows the

The difficulty lies in the vast array of potential subjects that fall under the umbrella of argumentative topics. • 2. Customer Service At The Real Estate Industry Essay 1.Introduction Internet is an important component in the development of real estate, and plays a key role in fierce on line real estate sites competition. The concepts of customer service are central to the success of on line real estate companies. Existing research recognizes the critical role played by customer service. Customer service in the real estate business is evolutionary, rather than revolutionary. One step forward is the simple realization that your current customers are potential gold plated, low cost ambassadors the bottom line lifeblood of your company. [Kathleen McKenna Harmon, 2002] Surveys such as that conducted by Penny Patterson (2009) placed that Customer service at the center of the business and said: The needs of our customers were, and still are, paramount. Therefore, I think customer service is also at the heart of on line real estate sites. On line real estate services become a trend, as buyers can get listings based on the criteria they set with online computer real estate services. [Kerwin, Ann Marie
,1992] The main challenge faced by on line real estate companies is about how to gain customers through fierce websites information competition, I would like to add great importance to combining on line and off line customer service together to increase the trading numbers. My main reason for choosing this topic is personal interest. It is my experience of working in real estate companies that has driven this research. It is not easy for a company to
  • 3. Teen Drinking And Driving Samantha Tangen Ms. Jackson Period 4 *date* Teen drinking and driving Drinking and driving is one of the biggest social issues for teens across the United States. Getting behind the wheel of a vehicle after consuming alcohol is a very dangerous thing no matter what age you are. However, teens do not think about the consequences of drinking and driving until it is already too late. Many things contribute to this growing problem of teen drinking and driving. First, there is a lack of education about drinking and driving in schools today. Next, peer pressure is difficult for many teens to resist. Finally, the access that teens have to alcohol and to vehicles is not monitored. According to blah blah study, 000% of high school students admit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Simulation plays display the damages that can be done from drinking and driving. Hosting these simulation plays will help young adults understand the consequences of driving after consuming alcohol. Such a program has been used by local Law enforcement to help make students aware of the dangers of drinking and driving, especially around Prom and Graduation. However, this program could be used during other times of the year...so on. Another problem that teens face on a daily basis is peer pressure. Teens face these pressures every day about simple things such as who they like or dont like, what games they play, what they wear, etc. These may seem harmless, but when it comes to peer pressure about more dangerous things, the concept is the same. Teens face peer pressure to drink alcohol. 00% of teens say that they feel the effects of peer pressure according to some study.... To help teens deal with the pressures they face from their peers, schools could start support programs that include safe zones for meetings, for talking with others who are facing peer pressure, or for talking to counselors or resource officers about the issues they are facing. There could also be an anonymous way to exchange dialog with these resources so that teens could feel safe reaching out for help while still remaining unknown by their peers. A third issue that contributes to teens drinking and driving is their
  • 4. Online Dating Research Paper Effects of Online Dating on Relationships In the old ages, dating was considered to be sacred. It was only permissible for the adults that had the rights to have a sexual partner. The sacred nature can be considered to be a conservative nature of the society regarding the religion, customs, and laws. As a result, getting a partner was a nightmare considering the fact that people had to rely on gathering places such as religious meetings, school and social interaction points such as bars and hotels to meet up with new people. This is without mentioning that there were no convenient means of communication apart from the slow mode of sending letters. With difficulty to getting a new partner, relationships were considered to be even more sacred,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When more online dating sites get into the market, there will be a devastating decline of commitments between spouses. From a personal experience, I have a married friend who subscribes to an online dating site called Match.com. This friend spends most of his time on this site interacting with other people while ignoring his responsibility of spending more time with his family. As a result, his marriagenow is not stable. His wife complains he is not showing any commitment towards their relationship and marriage. Slater (2013), in his article, points out that he has interviewed online dating company executives. From the interviews, the executives suggested that an increase in dating websites would decrease commitment in a relationship. Gian Gonzaga, who is a research scientist from eHarmony which is a conservative site stated that; the good thing about online dating is that people are free to get into a new relationship, learn new things and more likely choose a better person from a pool of people. Again he criticizes it by arguing that online dating creates a shortcut for people in relationship to quit the moment they feel it s not working (Slater, 2013). Slater (2013) also adds that Dan Winchester the founder of free dating site based in the UK pointed out that the older we get, the more experience we have. For example, men have more experience than women when it comes to

  • 6. University Of Pennsylvania Vs University Comparison Essay When it comes to choosing a university, there are many qualities people have to know in order to make the right choice. For example, how much it cost, where it is located, the ranking, the environment, and more. Founded in 1927, the University of Houston is the leading public research university in the vibrant international city of Houston (UH at a Glance). In contrary, Universityof Pennsylvania is a private institution founded in 1740 (University of Pennsylvania). Unlike UH, University of Pennsylvania is more successful on School of Education, School of Medicine, and some similar to the University of Houston, for example like School of Engineering (University of Pennsylvania). All of these programs are great, from both universities. They are providing top majors and making sure their students succeed. Everyone might think University of Pennsylvania is more difficult, but it is all on how much the students put in effort. Similar to University of Houston, students do not have to live on campus, but the percentage of people living off campus is lower than people living in school property (University of Pennsylvania Academic Life). Even though they do provide housing like every other college, students still decide to get their own home. With the tuition and fees, pretty sure their dorms are expensive too. The environment might be the same but it is all depending on how the students set up their schedule with
  • 7. Macaws Research Paper In conversation with one of the Macaw trainers at the Animal Kingdom exhibit, I was told to be careful in choosing the caging material type and surrounding environment (even a tree) for these Beautiful Macaws. They are known to be very destructive to trees in their aviaries, and are quite capable of biting into a coconut shell with their powerful beaks, so their cage must be heavy duty, typically Zoo Mesh or 1:1 steel mesh. The macaws in the images here were trained to fly in from more than a mile away, get their treats, and then take off and fly one foot above the heads of the people in the audience, which they did very nicely; all twenty of them! Macaws can have a 4 foot wingspan, giving the ability to fly at thirty five MPH. The Macaws diet

  • 9. Elements Of A True War Story A true war story is rather difficult, if not impossible, to share when it goes beyond one s imagination. Regarding such a story, one morally sound aspect about it is that it lacks morality or meaning to it. Extracting facts from a true war story is a daunting task because what seems to happen is what actually occurs. In what is to follow, I will tell one awful true warstory. The story begins on Tha Ke Island during a war hiatus. To Bunk and Trench, this is a desperately needed time to get away from the war. American soldiers stayed at the base camp to play board games. Bunk and Trench goofed around, but they were just kids. They didn t know about the dangers of the war. The silly game they played involved pretending to be soldiers. Bunk would
  • 10. Naturalist Themes In Stephen Crane s A Mystery Of Heroism Naturalism Essay Stephen Crane is a Naturalist. Naturalists believe an individual s life is determined by environment, chance, and heredity. They also believe that free will is an illusion and that people should endure their suffering with quiet dignity. Lastly, Naturalists believe survival of the fittest and natural selection govern people as well as nature, and people resort to the animal during a crisis. Crane uses literary elements to create Naturalist themes in A Mystery of Heroism and An Episode of War. Although both of the stories have Naturalist themes, Crane uses different elements to create them. In Crane s A Mystery of Heroism he uses literary elements to create Naturalist themes. One main belief of Naturalists is that someone s life is determined by environment, chance, and heredity. Crane uses the setting and characters to create this theme. In the story it says, Too, he wondered why he did not feel some keen agony of fear cutting his sense like a knife. This quote shows that the main characteris not afraid. The setting of the war is one of the reasons he does not feel fear. He has probably been in a more fearful situation since he has been in the war. If he had not been a soldier and been in this setting he would be more fearful. Crane uses characters to create this main idea by showing the other characters who argue with Collins until he goes to the well. In A Mystery of Heroism it says, Of course, yeh will! Yeh ll run through that there

  • 12. The Benefits Of Time Travel Although time travel has long been since considered as fable, there have been studies and theories that appeared supporting the time travel. Einstein s theory of relativity supports time travel and with this scientists have come up with theories of time travel. Other theories and many experiments have been conducted to try and prove the possibility of time travel for humans. Einstein s theory of relativitydetermined that the speed of light within a vacuum is constant no matter the speed at which the observer is traveling and with this found out that space and time were intertwined together in a continuum identified as space time. In the theory of special relativity, time is said to move slower or faster depending on the observer.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Travelling to the future is said to be easy. Einstein s theory of special relativity shows that for people who are moving relative to one another time passes at different rates, although the effect is only considerable when you travel near the speed of light. Let us say that you travelled in space at about 99.5% of the speed of light. The year you have spent is space would be lesser than the time that passed on Earth until you get back home. Many years have gone by on Earth while you have only spent a few years in space. Travelling to the speed of light cannot be yet achieved as of today s technology. There would be a great need for an unimaginable amount of energy to travel near the speed of light. But time travel to the future has already happened. Cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev travelled through time and holds the longest amount of time spent in space with 803 days. He orbited around the Earth travelling at around 7.66 km/s. Because of the high speed travel and length of time he spent in space; he arrived back in Earth 0.02 seconds in the future which is also due to time dilation. Although, he only travelled seconds in the future and not like the 5 years or more in the future he was still able to arrive earlier without travelling in the speed of light. Time travel can also occur in gravitational fields as stated in the theory of general relativity. Einstein predicted that time passed more slowly for objects in gravitational

Now it makes sense that in order to get a pack of paper, thousands of trees become an everyday use of humans, and some don t take into account the hurt its causing mother earth for one sheet of paper. Along with paper plantations, there are also timber and fiber plantations. Mahogany is found throughout the whole rainforest, and as we all know it is also a very, very nice and expensive piece of furniture. But no one seems to consider the fact where the lumber comes from. The same trees brought down and logged are used for its beautiful lumber that today is being used to provide even the fanciest house with very expensive furniture; therefore being a major cause of deforestation for the same claim humans have for such beautiful lumber. Lastly, after cattle have soiled the grounds of the area where it roamed, this land gets turned into fields after fields of cultivation. first a rainforest area is logged for its valuable lumber, then burned for cattle grazing, and as the land becomes exhausted, plowed up for crops such as soybeans a good sum up of the process of cultivation by Tim Hirsch from World Watch. Using low intensity ultrasound to evaluate foods quality was first employed in 60 years ago; until recently, the full potential of the technique has been realized (Povey and McClements, 1988). Examples of using of such technologies are found in the location of foreign bodies in food, edible fats and oils were analysis by the size of droplet in emulsions (Sherwin and Nicol, 1998). Ultrasonic analysis is based on the relationship between measurable properties of foods including attenuation coefficient, velocity and impedance, and physical properties of foods containing structure and composition and physical state. Physical, mechanical, or chemical effects of ultrasonic waves are capable of altering material properties. For example, accelerating certain chemical reactions through generation if immense shear, pressure, and temperature gradient in food medium where they were propagated (Zou et al., 2007). Ultrasound inactivation of microorganisms The mostly widely used techniques to inactivate microbes in food industry are conventional thermal pasteurization and sterilization. Thermal processing does kill vegetative microorganism and some spores (Peng et al., 2012), however, the effectives of this processing rely on the treatment time and temperature which are also proportional to the amount of nutrient loss, deterioration of functional properties of functional products and development of

THE LINK BETWEEN STOCK PRICES AND THE ECONOMY Economic theory proposes that there should be a strong link between economic activity and stock prices, given that its price is the discounted present value of the firm s payout. If this payout is finally a function of real activity, such a link should exist. There are several theoretical propositions suggesting how stock prices can have a direct impact on economic output, which further strengthens the link amongst these two variables. 1.The first link was proposed by Tobin in 1969. The focus is on the impact that share prices have on the cost of capital. The coefficient that captures this is called Tobin s Q, which is given by the ratio of market value of current capital to the cost of replacement capital. When the prices of shares are high, the value of the firm to the replacement cost of its capital is also high i.e., the Tobin s Q is also high. Furthermore, this leads to rise in investment expenditure and thus causes a rise in the aggregate economic output as for firms it is easier to finance their investment expenditures. This is because investment would be simpler as it would require a lower share offering in a situation of a higher price for

The Rebellion Of The Jamaica On October 11, 1865, Paul Bogle and a group of free blacks marched into Morant Bay protesting a local trail, which resulted in a full scale uprising that caused deaths and destruction. Free blacks had economic troubles and little to power in colonial society because of their limited access to resources. By July 8, 1865, the Jamaica Guardian captured the people s discontent with Governor Edward John Eyre, who served as British official on the island. In this message of discontent, the people call for his removal because of his weak, vacillating, and undignified character and conduct. The people became quite discontent with the British official because of his actions regarding the Morant Bay Rebellion. He responded to the rebellion with force and violence by declaring martial law in Surrey County and accused George William Gordon, a free black businessman, of being part of the rebellion that led to death. This whirlwind of events caused many to question Eyre s leadership and led to the establishment of the Jamaica Committee, a group of men from England. This group wanted to imprison the governor for his actions, but their actions led to his removal from office. This event created much havoc and chaos in England and Jamaica because it disturbed the British masses, which questioned the effectiveness of colonial rule after the Sepoy Munity of 1857. The cases received a large amount of political and public attention because two schools of thought existed in the debate. One

It is evident that, even in times of struggle, Americans possessed a trait of rebellion against those in power (especially the British) and common beliefs. Alicia is a bright student, but part of her hardships lie in certain behaviors that distract her and distance her in school. One example, would be Alicia s reluctance to answer questions in class and putting her head down on the desk when she is called upon. In order to focus on this lack of participation, her first behavior goal would be, Given a short, daily one on one meeting with her teacher to organize and mentally prepare for the day, Alicia will participate in class three times each day without being called on, as evaluated by the classroom teacher through a data tracking chart daily. When the monster is abandoned by Victor, he is hurt and wondering why nobody can stand the sight of him. He, like every other living person on this planet, needs to have some sort of relationship with another human being. This is a very troubling form of abuse that is very commonly known as neglect. Every person needs to have human contact, and when they are deprived of that necessity, it causes permanent brain damage and can even be fatal. In the monster s case, it could even be argued that neglect is the reason he turned murderous. Although neglect is the major reason that orphans are disadvantaged, stigmatisms only add to the difficulties. In most places around the world, orphans are seen only as troublemakers and hopeless members of society who are susceptible to manipulation. The monster is seen by everyone he crosses to be a dangerous and scary thing and thus no one is willing to help him or get to know him. If one single person had made the decision to go out of their way to help the monster, so many awful things could have been avoided. With the situation in many poor countries, orphans are avoided or abused in much the same way. People cross by them every day and never give a care for them. In the monster s case, he runs away from all contact with the exception of Victor, but these kids do whatever they can to be accepted. Child abuseand orphaned children are extreme problems in today s society.

During the early years of the Holocaust, Elie was separated from his mother and sisters, and the fear of losing his father as well motivated him to keep them together at all costs. That grit very well may have been what kept him alive. Eventually, his father s willpower deteriorated along with his health, making him more of a burden than a tether by the end of the book. Using Art For A Message Hannah Tierney 18 November 2016 Using Art to Send a Message For centuries people have used art as a way to express the political views, or used artistic movements to express certain ideals. This can be seen in the idealized art of the Ancient Greeks, who strived to perfect the balance between man and nature, and portray harmony, balance, and democracy. In Nazi Germany, Hitler showcased art that was un German, anything reflecting Jewish or communist ideology, was displayed in the Degenerate art show. This movement was used as propaganda; Hitler showed the public all the art that was not German. Today, many artists mock the commercialization of the art world and society itself using pop art and othrr consumer trends in their work. In Ancient Greece, philosophy and ideology shaped the views of the people living in the first democratic state. Formal Concept Analysis ( Fca ) Essay 2.7.2Formal Concept Analysis Formal Concept Analysis (FCA), also known as Galois lattice mining, is a branch of lattice theory that allows identification of meaningful groupings of objects that have common attributes (Wille, 2009; Ganter Wille, 2012). It is a data analysis method which enables the discovery of hidden knowledge in the data in the form of concepts. Godin, Gecsei, and Pichet (1989) have demonstrated the effectiveness of using FCA for indexing and retrieval as an alternative to hierarchical classification and boolean query based systems. In FCA, the data is represented as a formal context which contains objects, attributes and a binary relation between them. FCA represents relationships by means of formal concepts and captures them in a concept lattice. A formal concept in the lattice contains a set of attributes (Intent) and objects (Extent). I was ecstatic to go to Disney World because it was a childhood dream come true for me! When the day of the trip arrived, we stuffed all of our luggage into the back of our minivan and began our trip to the airport in Charlottesville, Virginia. We waited three long hours for our flight to leave Charlotteville, but we finally got onto the plane. I had a feeling of butterflies in my stomach as I waited for the plane to take off. I sat next to my dad, and he held my hand to take away the nerves. From above the clouds, everything looked miniature, and I remember feeling like a giant. We flew from Charlottesville, Virginia to Charlotte, North Carolina. At the airport in Charlotte, our flight to Orlando was delayed. We flew through a small city in Georgia, and all of the lights resembled a cluster of glowing stars. We reached Orlando, Florida around 12:30 AM, and our journey to the Swan and Dolphin

Individuals form addictions to a surge in excessive or violent behaviors, commonly found among teens or younger children. Studies also indicate playing excessive amounts of video games can also have an effect on your sleeping patterns in a negative way. For instance, playing an extreme amount of video games prior to going to bed may create a more difficult time in falling asleep. So, I decided to take on a similar yet different type of study to discover out how much video gaming an average high schooler plays each night and how this may affect how many hours of sleep he/she receives. I was unable to find any online articles for this type of study, so I decided to find out for myself using the high school population at a local school. As the study began, I did believe that students who participated in excessive video gaming may receive less sleep. Statement of Task The focus of this study was to investigate if the amount of time students spend playing video games each evening may have an influence on the quantity of sleep the average high school student receives. To determine this, I requested teachers to allow me to survey students during school hours in an

Analysis Of David Irving s The Crucible David Irving has made many public speeches in which he denies the use of gas chambers by Nazis to murder Jews; however, he does not consider himself a denier or a liar. Irving considered accusations of him being a Holocaust denier to be wrong and damaging, so on September 5, 1996, he took Deborah Lipstadt to court on the grounds of libel because she had according to Irving; wrongly accused him of being a denier. Irving is notorious because even though the judge ruled in favor of Lipstadt, he still argued that he was right and did not accept the undeniable fact that the holocaustdid happen and that it was one of the lowest points in humanity. Since the election of Trump, hate crimes have seen an increase of 6% which is alarming given that in the past hate crimes have been decreasing according to the FBI and SPLC. Some areas that saw the biggest surge were hate crimes among Muslim Americans, transgendered people, Jews, and African Americans. Some believe that the spike in hate crimes is because of the country s extreme opposing views on topics causing a divide between citizens which was motivated by President elect Trump. Supporters and believers of Trump s extreme views have been taking Trump s statements and applying them literally by lashing out against different ethnicities, races, and genders because of what they are, what they believe in, and who they supported during the election. An example of a hate crime occurring because of statements made by Trump against Muslims is the letter a mosque in California got calling for genocide. Some of the more colorful parts of the letter stated that Muslims are a vile and filthy people , your day of reckoning has arrived , and He s (Trump) going to do to you Muslims what Hitler did to Jews (Holly 3). This letter is obviously motivated by religious hatred towards Muslims and is calling for action against them. It clearly follows the
