It was Tuesday, September 8th and it was the first day of college class. It was a long
Labor Day weekend and on the first day I had writing on my schedule. My writing

Ever since the first school shooting, a lot of people have changed their beliefs on this
subject. I was in eighth grade when the shooting at Columbine High School took
place. Before that shooting, I never would have considered something like that
happening. Now, it is seventeen years later and school shootings almost seem like

t for the measures that the school took they would just be walking around with
these items. I hope these laws never change, and my kids have the same protection

The Importance Of Mangroves In Australia
Mangroves are trees and shrubs that can be found along coastal intertidal zones in
tropical and subtropical areas near the equator due to their inability to survive in
low temperatures. Mangroves are found not only in australia but on coastlines all
over the world and are distributed over 100 countries in the tropical and sub tropical
regions of the world. Australia contains the third largest area of mangroves in the
world after Indonesia and Brazil, totalling around 11,500 km2 representing
approximately 6.4% of the world s total mangrovearea (Appendix A)
(Mangrovewatch.com, 2017). There are 73 different types of mangrove species in
the world. 39 of these mangrove species dwell in Australia. The intertidal zoneor
littoral zone, is the area that is exposed at low tidebut is submerged by seawater
during high tide. Mangroves survive in salt water on sheltered muddy shores,
because they have adapted to the harsh abiotic conditions in order to survive in their
area. Mangroves also provide a habitat for marine organisms such as fish, crabs and
yabbies. Furthermore they provide a habitat for many land animals such as birds,
pythons, lizards and crocodiles. How mangroves contribute to the functioning of
intertidal ecosystems will be discussed on this report.

The Scottish Wildlife Trust manages a network of 120 wildlife reserves across
Scotland. Their main aim is to aid in preserving and maintaining healthy
ecosystems throughout Scotland s land and seas. Possil Marsh is one of such
wildlife reserves, located in the north of Glasgow. Ecology and Conservation
students from the University Glasgow visited the reserve on Friday the 14th of
October 2016. The intention of this excursion was for students to see first hand the
variety of wildlife which inhibits the reserve and take into consideration the
processes of management. This refers to preserving the area whilst still making it
accessible to the public. With an area of 78.2 acres, Possil marsh contains a large
quantity and variety of habitats to support the inhabiting species. The reserve has
a shallow freshwater loch, providing suitability for water birds and many other
animals. This water is surrounded by a combination of vegetation including
marsh, swamp and fen, with areas of willow scrub and grassland. The fen and
swamp areas support locally rare plants specific to this site. The reserve is also
proved to be an important staging post during the spring and autumn migration for
warblers and waterfowl. There is path accessible from the Forth Clyde towpath and
around the perimeter of the reserve which is available for visitors to use. (SNH,

This change that Gaultier is referring to is known as Fast Fashion . It is a
phenomenon within the fashion industry that has made its way into Australian
consumers wardrobes over the past five years (11). It involves unsustainable
production processes that are expedited in order to get new trends to the market as
quickly and cheaply as possible (4) whilst encouraging disposability.
Fashion should never be thought of as a disposable product yet mainstream
consumers are still trying to grasp the notion of paying more for a clean conscience
and to understand that luxury is still the best that money can buy.
The fashion industry is the most labour dependent industry in the world with 1 in 6
people on Earth somehow being involved in the global fashion industry. 85% of

Firstly the feature space would be increased in dimension, by the addition of new
features. Due to the analysis done on feature production, it was noted that by
generalising feature production and consumption (in the neural network), a lot of
time could be saved in the long run. This meant when the feature space was to be
expanded, it would be important to create the feature production in a scalable manner.

Secondly, the neural network would be extended from a simple input output neural
network to one with a variable number of inputs, layers, and hidden neurons. The
addition of more layers would allow more complex planes to partition the feature
space as sometimes simple planes cannot adequately classify data. For example,
consider the classification of a data set similar to the output of a XOR gate.

Heaney uses words such as, purges , the water pumped in , scraggy wee shits ,
dunghill and dung to suggest that the kittens seem like waste. The title reflects the
idea of waste, as the word purges means getting rid of undesirables. The water
pumped in, indicates what happens when flushing a toilet, therefore getting rid of
waste.
Dan Taggart calls the kittens, scraggy wee shits which shows that he doesn t care
about the killing of the kittens and treats them as waste to be got rid of. He justifies
his actions by suggesting the kittens have no value. A dunghill can be used for getting
rid of dung and the kittens are sluiced on the dunghill. The word sluiced means
flushed indicating a toilet, so the kittens are therefore treated as waste. Throughout
the poem we are viewing the killing through Heaney s eyes and it is evident that he
does not like the killing as he uses words such as soft , tiny and frail to suggest the
kittens are innocent and harmless. The words, For days I sadly hung round the yard,
watching the three sogged remains and the fear came back suggest he was affected
by the carnage and murder he witnessed. However, toward the end of the poem he is
forced to accept the killing and torture.
Heaney became numb, unfeeling and almost deadened. This is shown in the words, I

There will need to be give and take for there to be a resolution to the sticking
points. My strategy will also encompass a way to build trust among the companies.
The first thing would be to have Wyoff look at their technology licensing. I would
ask for them to offer their technology license at a reduced rate to China LuQuan as
a gesture of trust and friendship. Wyoff also must be made aware of the culture in
China and the need for partners to also be friendly. China LuQuan would need to
look at the product slate and become more open to a wider range of products which
would show compromise on their part. With the issue of the Chinese people and
employees again culture will play a role. Each of the companies must give in
somewhat to achieve an agreement on each side. Possibly a 10% immediate
reduction in staff and the remainder of the reduction over two years. The
management could also be made up of members equally from both companies. The
percentage of ownership should also be examined and a 50 50 ownership should be
developed as a move in the right direction to doing business in China. Cultural
