Advantages And Disadvantages Of 4D Printing In The
Future...
As indicated by Skylar Tibbitts, 4D printing is the capacity to program physical and
organic materials to change shape, change properties, and compute outside of silicon
based matter. 4D Printing, created as a coordinated effort between the Self Assembly
Lab, Stratasys and Autodesk, is another procedure for printing adjustable keen
materials. 4D Printing involves multi material prints using the Stratasys Connex
printer with the additional capacity of shape change starting with one state then onto
the next, straightforwardly off the print bed. This method offers a streamlined way
from thought to full usefulness incorporated specifically with the materials,
including; activation, detecting and material rationale. Potential applications

mechanical devices and also versatile items, pieces of clothing or mechanism that

The Rodeo Show Of The Western Culture
My reflection on the show was that the dominant group was definitely were white
male, and few white females in the second competition section. In the second
competition section, male s performance was better than female because there had no
female catch the calf. But few male was catch the calf. The same competition of first
and third section were all white malewhich I believed that the section was too
dangerous for femaleto competed. Since cowboys who dropped off from the
horseback seemed painful and hurtful which was not good to women s body. In the
realistic world, people tend to believe that men are stronger than women in gender
role, so that women maybe too weak to handle that dangerous activity.
Since I have not attended rodeo before, therefore I know nothing about the rules of
the rodeo. I tried to understand the rodeo show based on my observation. So I am
going to use gender role to analyze the rodeo show of the Western culture. First, it
was obvious that white male dominant group were leading the activity. The first
entry the ground was a heavy middle age cowboy, and two young beautiful cowgirls
followed after him. Then the judge place had few white males were standing there. In
the second section there had twice cowboys than cowgirls in the competition. Only
the entertainment rodeo preferment were cowgirls. Therefore, from my perspective,
this rodeo culture is leading by white males, who have power to manage. In the very
old century, men were the one to go out

The Effects Of Social Media On Children
It isn t a bad thing sharing a couple of pictures of our favorite moments, or those
selfies that make us popular with friends; the ones that help us gain followers. Or
using it for the right reason of communicating with family all over the world and
meeting new friends abroad. But don t you think that users such as teenagers in
specific take advantage of what social media is actually for. At times parents are
confused because they think that their child is using Facebook for the connection of
their loved ones, or even group chats that are meant for positive feedback.
Realistically we all know that isn t the case. Because deep inside your child s room
you can find messages that were meant for sharing of their personal self. In this case
sexting. Another ruining is the destruction of family relationships, where physically
your child may be present, but mentally are not. And what about your teenage
daughter that is old enough to maneuver herself when driving, so you think. Do you
think she is focused on the road, or on that bright blue screen that teenagers like to
call, my baby . At times we may feel that social media might be the right thing for us.
Or that it might affect us in more positive ways rather than in negative ways, but
although technology may be the best source for connecting distinct cultures and
societies in ways that seemed impossible before, technology also fails miserably to
an extent where messages that were meant for positive feedback have turned into
How to Make Training Needs Analysis
TRAINING NEEDS ASSESSMENT A Must for Developing an Effective Training
Program
By Judith Brown, Director of Research
Training needs assessment is an ongoing process of gathering data to determine what
training needs exist so training can be developed to help the organization accomplish
its objectives. Conducting needs assessment is fundamental to the success of a
training program. Often, organizations will develop and implement training without
first conducting a needs analysis. These organizations run the risk of overdoing
training, doing too little training or missing the point completely. There are four
main reasons why needs analysis must be done before training programs are
developed. 1. To identify specific problem areas in the... Show more content on

Training is appropriate when your organization can be expected to gain more benefit
from the training than it invested in its cost. The value of any training investment to
the organization must rely on the vision and judgment of line supervisors and
managers. You may authorize training to build skills and knowledge levels that help
employees better contribute to your organizational mission(s). In some cases, the
need is immediate and the training remedial; in other cases, the aim is to update and
maintain professional knowledge; and in still others the goal is to prepare for
requirements anticipated by higher level officials. The following factors might
indicate training or development needs of your employees:

The Frontal Lobe, Cerebellum, And The Temporal Ache
The brain can be described similar to a vault, where the most important aspect of
life is held, knowledge. Human knowledge has grown since the beginning of time,
however pieces are still missing on the capabilities of the brain, and are still yet to
be discovered. Neurologists are aware that the brain consists of five segments; these
divisions consist of the Frontal Lobe, Parietal Lobe, Occipital Lobe, Cerebellum, and
the Temporal Lobe. Each of these parts work in harmony and has their own specific
function, which as a whole controls our person. The Frontal Lobe is crucial for artistic

How does Clint Eastwood, director of the film, Invictus,...
How does Clint Eastwood, director of the film, Invictus, use the South African rugby
team (the Springboks) as a vehicle to bring a troubled nation together?
Clint Eastwood shows the change in the nation of South Africa in Invictus, using the
Springboks as a vehicle. He starts the film with large amounts of separation, followed
by the steady change in the middle of the movie, and finishing with the nation
combined.
In the beginning of the film, Clint Eastwood shows how separated black and white
people are and how they do not get along, due to the change of the government and
the Springboks. Because of the change in government, Nelson Mandela s staff started
to pack their things up as if they were leaving their jobs, but Nelson Mandela ... Show

At first, the police officers rudely send him away and continue to listen to the
game. The African child still tries to get closer and closer, while pretending to
collect soft drink cans. But, towards the end of the scene, the Springboks score and
win the game, and the police become more accepting and forgiving. They begin to
celebrate with the child and raise him up on their shoulders as if he were a mascot.
Ironically, in the beginning of the film, the same child is seen refusing to wear a
Springbok jersey. By using the same child in the beginning of the movie and towards
the end, this shows the audience how the South Africans have changed their view on
the Springboks. This acceptance of the Springboks showed the beginnings of a nation
coming together. During the World Cup, the final game in the film, the scene
occasionally cuts to shots of empty streets and empty houses. This technique shows
that everyone is watching the game and that everyone is excited to see the outcome.
Another thing Clint Eastwood did to show the black and white people combined is
at the end of the movie. He used the world cup to symbolise the nation had been
brought together. He did this by making Francois and Chester to both hold the World
Cup up above their heads, showing the black and white hand together.
By the end of the film Invictus, during the final scene, one can see that the crowd
watching the rugby game has changed quite considerably, compared to the game in

The Ethnic Groups in Malaysia and Its Culture
The Ethnic Relation and Culture in Malaysia. By just looking at the title above, you
know what I am going to talk about. Yes, you are right, the culture of our magnificent
country. Our country is actually envied by many foreigners. Why? Well, one of the
main reasons is because of how we Malaysians can live in harmony for many years,
even though we consist of many different races and ethnic groups. The culture of our
country started out with the unique combination and amount of ethnic groups in our
country. Let s understand more of our country s ethnic group before we go on shall
we?
Let me briefly introduce to you the three major ethnic groups in our country, the
Malay, Chinese and the Indians. Firstly, the Malays, also known... Show more

In Sabah and Sarawak, they consists a large number of ethnic groups even I never
heard of! Although living in the same country, I still do not know much of my
people; it is a shame for many young people nowadays too, all they know are mainly
the three main ethnic groups. Besides that, another we must not forget about is that
many foreigners, or shall I say legal immigrants came to our country live as citizens
of Malaysia. For example, the Koreans, Japanese, Filipinos, Indonesians, etc because
of the way we live.
Being a Malaysian, we are very lucky. We live in a place where there are no serious
and deadly problems like natural disasters or war. Besides that, the pace of how we
live is very slow, carefree and we don t have much stress compare to other country.
Studies show that the Koreans and Japanese in the country came because they wanted
to live the Malaysian way.
The main question our country s people are asking is, why Malaysia? Of all
countries, why pick Malaysia? Why does so many people from the outside wants to
come to our country while we, people of Malaysia wants to migrate to other people s
country? Maybe one day, Malaysia s three major ethnic groups are Malays, Japanese
and Koreans. It would be very weird. Malaysia will not be Malaysia anymore.
Ethnic relations go way back into our country s history. They are not just the natural
consequences of the differences between cultures. Due to peninsular Malaysia s

Self Esteem and the Media
There are two types of media. There can be good media, and there can be bad
media. One might also refer to the media as positive or negative. This paper will
introduce some negative affects found as a result of children imitating and
idolizing the media and the celebrities that go along with it. There are also positive
results that come from the media; the media is not all bad. This paper will just
focus on the bad affects I have found. The media spends billions of dollars to create
advertisements that appeal to our youth. While those companies are just looking to
make money and promote their products; they are doing so much more. Today s
world is becoming more aware of the problems arising from negative media.
The Media and Self Esteem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What is viewed in the programs is not necessarily causing weight gain in children,
lack of exercise or any movement is causing the child to gain. The child will then
have low self esteem from being overweight, and continue to eat and watch
television as a crutch to dealing with harassment from other children. The National
Eating Disorders Association says, 81% of 10 year olds are scared of getting
heavy (Teen Health and the Media). Americans spend over 110 billion dollars on
fast food in 2001 (Teen Health and the Media). Americans also consumed an
estimated 56 gallons of soda per person (Teen Health and the Media). Those are
also contributing factors besides the media to obesity in children. If children are
not being subjected to junk food advertisements, they are seeing thin models
portrayed as beautiful and perfect. Runway models are becoming the worst role
models for any young children or adults. In Madrid, Spain a fashion show decided
to turn away models with low BMI in an effort to avoid eating disorders among
young teens (Woolls, D., Sept. 2006). This is a good decision for teens and for the
company s reputations. Concha Guerra says, Fashion shows are mirrors for many
young women (Woolls, D., Sept. 2006). Many teens are starving themselves into
sickness to look like the women who are idolized on television and in magazines.

Hope In Dystopian Literature
Dystopian literature has made an uprising popularity in the recent years. Lots of
audiences like to read about character s conflicts that have to do with despairing
pasts and how they find hope. Most authors have accordingly adapted these themes
and made them their own. While the authors have all made their own works, they all
describe the same characteristics. For example, the government threatening the
citizens and putting them in despair, making them feel as there is no hope in the
future society. The outcome of these societies lead to characters having hope and
making alliances to make the future better. In George Orwell s 1984 and Ernest
Cline s Ready Player One, the societies are very similar and the characters, Winston
and Wade,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Orwell s provided how Winston felt after he saw Julia, which furthers the statement
about themes. Conversely, Cline s use of the themes leaves the reader
understanding the emotions and how the character s felt. For example, Cline went
to the extreme and killed a character. I continued to watch the scoreboard, expecting
to see his brother Daito s score increase as well. But it never happened...Daito had
just been killed (Cline 233). The quote demonstrates that Cline went to the extreme
and used the theme despair and killed a character. The reason why Cline produces a
more effective way to communicate the theme is because it is more clear to convey
what is happening. Orwell s writing is more challenging to understand then Cline s.
Therefore, Cline produces a clearer theme then Orwell. If Cline did not add this part
into the novel, Wade s thoughts would be different and he may have never got
information he needed to beat the OASIS. Orwell s writing is more challenging to
understand then Cline s. Therefore, Cline produces a clearer theme then

become his mentor and trained him. In the process of becoming a professional
fighter, Adonis went through challenges. Even though Adonis faces challenges in
life, he overcomes them because he never gives up.
In order to achieve our goal, we should never be afraid to take challenges. In the
movie, Adonis does not want to use Creed this name because people will compare
him with his father Apollo Creed. He is so scared that he is not able to make it and it
will disgrace his father. Nonetheless, he wants to build his own legacy by using the
name Johnson without relying on the popularity of his father. He is not only
suffering with the burden that others gave him, but also the pressure that he gives to

Tempur-Pedic And The Impact On Fagerdala World Foams
In the early 1970 s, NASA s Ames Research Center funded a development project
designed to create a substance that could help relieve astronauts of the incredible g
forces experienced during lift off. They believed that one of the key secrets to
reducing g forces on the body was to use a foam material that could conform to
each person s shape and hold this conformity. While a foam mold of each astronaut
s body shape could accomplish this, any movement would take a person out of this
position and create incorrect pressure points against the body. Instead, they created
a new foam material that was visco elastic and therefore able to conform to a
person s shape, but then come back to a normal shape once pressure was removed
from the foam. This could allow an even distribution of pressure or body weight over
the entire surface of the foam, but quickly adapt to any movements of the body....

Similarities And Differences Between Oliver Twist Movie...
COMPARE AND CONTRAST OLIVER TWIST
INTRODUCTION
Everyone is aware that books have a richer backstory and more intrigues than a
film, and that is natural due to the length of the book compared to the film. But
why does everyone always say that the book was better than the film, even though,
the film is way more focused and fast paced? Is it really that big of a difference
between the book and the film? I will use this compare and contrast essay to try
and explain in which way the Oliver Twist book is both very similar and very
different from the film adaptation of Oliver Twist. I will also try to explain why
people generally think that the book is better than the film.

That is why Brownlow is talking to Nancy in the film unlike in the novel where Rose
Maylie is talking to Nancy on the bridge. It is impossible for Rose to talk to Nancy
on the bridge in the film because she was never introduced.
The differences in this scene are a product of the different timelines, once again. This
contrast is not very significant because the outcome is the same for both the film and
the novel.
I would like to end up with saying that I thought the novel was better than the film
and I will explain why I think so and why I think others think likewise. It has to do
with the fact that the more focused the content becomes, the less room is left for the
significant side facts so to speak. What I am trying to say is that the film makes no
sense over why Fagin wants Oliver back again. But if you have read the book you
know they want him back because Oliver s half brother Monks has payed Fagin to

CAFE Synthesis Essay
In 1975, the United States Congress enacted The Corporate Average Fuel Economy
(CAFE) standards, which are a series of regulations that were placed on domestic
automobile manufacturers to create more fuel efficient cars. CAFE standards were
created as a result of the Arab Oil Embargo, a primary catalyst for the 1973 oil crisis
that created a shortage of fuel across the United States. Since its enactment, CAFE
standards have been inefficient and inequitable because most Asian car manufacturers
beat the standard, European car manufacturers sometimes meet the standard (and pay
the penalty otherwise), while the majority of domestic car manufacturers struggle to
meet the standard. Instead of investing in new technology, manufacturers have

An Analog, Voice Grade, Basic Form Telephone Service
Essay
POTS is an analog, voice grade, basic form telephone service that connects home
and businesses to central office telephone networks around the globe. It is based
off of the Bell Telephone system and runs over copper twisted pair wires that form
the local loop. (What is Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS), 2015). It is used more
than any other phone system because it is reliable. The band path frequencies are
limited to 300 to 3400 hertz.
Local Land Line Phone System:
Local Loop the local loop is the copper wire connection that is created when the two

IIDA Advocacy Group Analysis
Monday night was the first meeting of IIDA advocacy group of the year. The
group consisted of eleven people total. We had four students including myself who

with the president of the group asking each one of us to write down three goals and
ideas for a community outreach project. My ideas consisted of working with a

Education Is An Important Part Of Life
Education is an important part of life even for people who are already educated, but
education never ends. As a matter of fact, intelligence is constantly increasing, so
educated people should not waste such educations with unnecessary leisure activities
like watching television when a person can continually improve his or her education.
In today s culture, an educated person should spend more time reading than watching
television because reading builds the reader s vocabulary and reinforces the prior
knowledge of particular terminology, but watching television requires no active
thinking. Challenging the mindis one of the greatest ways to improve it, so reading
at higher levels, regardless of age or education status, will build the vocabulary of
a reader, thus making the reader a more knowledgeable person. When a reader
stumbles across an unfamiliar word in a sentence, he or she may use context clues
to figure out the meaning of the word, or this person could simply look up the
word in a dictionary or similar source. Seeing unfamiliar words challenges a reader
s mind because each word is introduced multiple times in order to define it: once
when reading the sentence the first time, twice after reading it the second time, three
times in order to look up the word, and four times when the reader uses the word s
definition in place of the term in the sentence. These re introductions build a reader s
vocabulary which is important because having a stronger vocabulary allows a
Banning Assault And Semiautomatic Weapons
Banning Assault and Semiautomatic Weapons
Assault style or automatic weapons have been a common denominator in almost all
fatal mass shootings. It is unnecessary for civilians to purchase automatic weapons
for non military use. If there was a ban on the purchasing of militarized weapons by
civilians, it would decrease the number of fatal mass shootings drastically.
Statistics show that in 2015, there were 372 mass shootings, killing 475 people and
wounding 1,870. Also in 2015, there were 64 school shootings, that number include
incidents where a firearm was shot but no one was injured. There are roughly 300
million guns in the United States, which is about a third of the population. The U.S.
Department of Justice and the Council on Foreign Affairs reported that 11,385
people died on average annually in firearm incidents in the U.S. between 2001 and
2011.
During the 1980 s and 1990 s, there were numerous mass shootings that involved
automatic weapons. An example of one of the first mass shootings in the U.S.
occurred in 1989. Patrick Purdy returned to his elementary school in Stockton,
California armed with an AKS rifle, which is similar to the AK 47, and opened fire.
He killed 5 children and wounded 30 others, and then turned the gun on himself. One
of the most horrific mass
murders in the history of the United States was in San Ysidro, California in a
McDonald s. James Huberty killed 21 people and wounded 19 others. The weapon he
used was an Uzi carbine, which is a

Ernest Hemingway has long been known for his two heroes in his writing. The hero
who is a weak, pathetic individual who is often lost physically and mentally, and the
code hero who usually shows grace under pressure and helps the Hemingway hero
find his place. These two heroes often come together in a relationship where the code
hero is the teacher who initiates the Hemingway hero into the code. Ernest
Hemingways short story, The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber, is the
quintessential example of Hemingway s heroes. In The Short Happy life of Francis
Macomber, Macomber has flown to Africa for his most recent hunting endeavor. He

Macomber s cowardice would disappear however; on the buffalo hunt. The

car, I want a drink. This is the climax in Macomber s becoming a man. Early on in
the story Macomber was satisfied with a gimlet, but now he wants to celebrate
with whisky, a true man s drink. Macomber repeatedly says, let s have a drink, lets
have a drink. He had never felt so good in his entire life. True symbolism occurs
when the men find out that the first buffalo, the one Macomber shot, isn t actually
dead. I think Hemingway did this as a second chance for the lion incident. Now;

Scalable Cache Coherence Protocols Are Essential For...
Abstract
Scalable cache coherence protocols are essential for multiprocessor systems to
satisfy the requirement for more dominant high performance servers with shared
memory. However, the small size of the directory cache of the increasingly bigger
systems may result in recurrent directory entries evictions and, consequently,
invalidations of cached blocks that will gravely corrupt system performance.
According to prior studies, only a single core accesses a considerable fraction of
data blocks, so it is needless to monitor these in the directory structure. Using the
technique of uniprocessor systems and deactivating their consistency protocol is the
best way to identify those private blocks actively. The directory caches will stop the
tracking of a substantial amount of blocks after the deactivation of the protocol,
which will minimize their load and enhance their adequate size. The proposal only
needs minor changes because the operating system collaborates in finding the private
blocks.
There are two fundamental contributions to the study. The first is to reveal that the
classification of data blocks at block level assists to identify significantly more
classified data blocks as compared to work in a few earlier studies of organizing the
cache blocks at the granularity of page and sub page. The method minimizes the
proportion of blocks in the directory necessary for tracking significantly in
comparison to the same course approaches of level classification. It, in turn,
Corporal Punishment In The United States
Corporal Punishment is a physical form of punishment where a person inflicts pain
to punish another; when someone commits a crime. There are different variations of
physical pain; such as spanking, paddling, or caning, which is given to parents,
guardians, school officials, or other officials. There are other types of physical pain, in
ancient times, people would inflict pain by flogging; whipping, branding and
amputation. It is now known today as a source of punishment in the legal system, and
in homes of citizens. Corporal Punishmentstill exists today are in the United States,
Japan, England, and China.

that is set for Corporal Punishment is aimed for children who are at the age of
sixteen and over. Parent, or parent figures, charged with using force that included
wounding, causing grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm or
cruelty of a person less than 16 years of age could use the defense of reasonable
chastisement (Hester, M., He, J., Tian, L. 2009). What that means is that the parents
have the right to use reasonable chastisement if they are punishing their child for
doing something bad. That rule follows as the men would beat up their wives to
keep her from doing anything wrong, and remind her of what she has to do serve the

Reflection About My Personal Identity
When I take a look beck on my lifetime, I see that I ve changed a great deal in
regards to my personal identity. For me to put entirely into words on a paper
would take me days to explain how and why things went the way they did, so I d
like to shorten these feeling up. In my youth, I had clearly planned to take the
superhero path through life. Professional athlete, firefighter, police officer, or
basically anything portrayed in society as a model citizen, a class act if you will,
all racing through my mind when thinking about my future. I was mistaking, and
for good reason as I had these feelings until I was about ten years old. When the
first year with two digits associated itself with my age, a certain maturity occurred.
I wouldn t classify it as a life changing realization, but more of an assistant to my
later discoveries. In the time I spent working with my father, albeit mostly masonry
work, I began to ask questions with higher frequency. For myself, I wanted to
further my knowledge, but at that time, I was really annoyed that I couldn t
understand certain aspects to building such as why we used Weld Crete on all of
our bluestone patios when it seemed that we were the only masons doing anything
resemblant of our process. I continued to question my father about how our creations
held up and why we did certain things that seemed unnecessary. Whether we were
working on a fireplace, a patio, or a sprinkler system, I was never satisfied until I
understood why we took one

Say hello to Super Lice! Super Lice is nothing to take lightly. You or your child

In times past lice has been known as the nasty bug people can get in their hair.
Never have people had problems with fighting the bugs off or paying for the
medication to fight them off. Usually people would just drive to their local
supermarket and buy the easy to use over the counter medication to get rid of
pests. This type of medication would cost about $8.99 $19.99 at most depending
on brands. Because these medications are tending to let families down, they have to
find an alternative. Angela Shirley, owner of The Lice Slayers in Lawrence, has
seen firsthand the results of this increasing resistance. Parents have been coming
to this company for a while, saying they have tried three or four times to rid their
child s hair of lice with no luck. Lice Slayers offers the AirAlle Treatment which
uses a special device to apply heat of about 138 degrees close to the scalp to kill the
unwanted visitors and their eggs. In most cases, one treatment, which costs $165,
is all it takes to rid an infestation. They re not going to become resistant to the heat,
Shirley said (Rudavsky 40). For Shirley, business has really been nice, having over
100 cases in August. Nevertheless, this is not good news for many people with
lice. Today people do all they can to get by with paying for school fees, college,
groceries, doctor visits and more. No one has the time or money to be spending
A First Lady Of The White House Essay
What does it take to be a First lady, let alone an extraordinary one? From the 18th
century, originating with Martha Washington to the present time, Michelle Obama,
43 lovely ladies have embarked upon this role. The term first lady was originally
used in reference to the spouse or hostess of an executive. However, there were times
that the lack of a spouse, or representative existed. Therefore, the traditional role was
transferred to an immediate family member. For example, during the Bill Clinton
presidency, First Lady Hillary was pursuing her own political ambitions. In turn, the
responsibilities were transferred to the daughter, Chelsea.
In addition, this role of being in charge of the White House as hostess, manager,
decorator, caretaker is now considered the traditional role and it is still part of what
First Ladies do. (par11) However, the role has transformed over the centuries in
several ways, such as being involved in specific interests to benefit the common
good of said parties. Take for instance, Mary Lincoln became an advocate for an
organization that provided support for housing, employment and education of freed
African American slaves. (par12)
Furthermore, the First Lady have been known to offer their opinion and advice on
politics, policy, crises and personnel. (par 13) As seen with Eleanor Roosevelt, she
was a force to be reckoned with, as she tackled tough subjects of inequality and poor
conditions of the common working man. As shown above, it

December 12, 2014
Abstract: This experiment was conducted to determine if the light of a glow stick
can be affected by the temperature of water. In this the researcher will try to find
what temperature of water makes a glow stick glow brighter and how long it will
stay lit. By proceeding in the experiment, the data collected proved the hypothesis to
be correct. Warmer water caused the glow stick to glow brighter than it had before.
On the other hand, the beaker with colder water made the stick stay lit longer and the
room temperature water didn t affect the glow stick as much. Glow sticks are

lastly, the pink stick, in cold water, stayed lit the longest for 122 minutes (two hours

The experiment could have had better results if done with multiple glow sticks. Make

Research Paper On Skyscrapers
Towering skyscrapers providing offices for businesses, bridges that let people
drive miles over water, and houses providing people shelter every day. All these
structures affect people every day; and like all great ideas, it had to be planned.
Without a plan for these ideas, how else would it be known how to build these
great structures. And with the population growing we need more people to design
new homes, businesses and other structures. Architecture is a major career that
requires essential skills such as math, science, communication, and most
importantly creativity. With these skills it is the responsibility of an architect to
design these projects and make sure it is built properly. Every structure needs a
plan, and the first step in an architectural plan is to make a design that fits the
customer s needs. These needs will vary on every project such as a drawbridge that
could open 100 meters across, or an office building that needs to be able to sustain
hurricane winds. Although every structure is different, they all have basic
components that make sure they stand (Shapiro 1). One common structure architects
design are skyscrapers. The first part of a skyscraper that an architect will design is
the foundation. The foundation is designed by what shape the bottom of the
building will be. A pit will be dug out and filled with concrete and columns must be
designed into the concrete to reach bedrock, so the building will be anchored. An

Luck Egalitarianism Summary
In reaction to gross and compounding economic disparities in the international sphere,
cosmopolitan philosophers like Moellendorf have addressed the international state,
claiming that the degree of inequality is unjustifiable. Moellendorf operates with a
Rawlsian understanding of ethical relations, but expands this notion from the
domestic sense into the international sense, claiming that the degree of globalization
is sufficient such that it creates an association in which the interdependence is
sufficiently strong, largely non voluntary and constitutive of a significant part of the
background rules that govern members lives, forming the basis of duties for
distributive justice. From this understanding for the need for global distributive
justice, Moellendorf claims that the main strategy to address this inequality is
through a global progressive tax. Moellendorf s conception, however, overstates the
degree to which globalization has created international cohesiveness. Though a
progressive tax would certainly address global inequality, a... Show more content on

Luck egalitarianism refers to the arbitrary methods by which various states came
to be in possession of their resources and the need for a system of redistribution
similar to Moellendorf s global tax in order to address the systems of inequality
arising from arbitrarily having more or less valuable resources. Wenar, however,
disagrees with the notion of a global tax, citing concerns over sentiments of distrust
in states recently liberated from former colonial states. In response to this distrust,
Wenar proposes a system of popular resource sovereignty, in which the value derived
from a nation s resources are not subject to global taxation, but rather are directed
toward the benefit of the nation s people rather than a nation s
Analysis Of The Movie The Woman Of Black
On the 31st of March we watched the Woman in Black at the Fortune theatre in
London, as part of our unit two assessment. The play is about Arthur Kipps who
tells the gripping story of the terrible events he survived when he encountered the
woman in black. He learns about the death of Mrs Drablow and travels to the town
of Crythin Gifford. Here he meets many petrified faces, too scared to about the
womanin black. Through the story of Mr Kipps we learn that a woman named
Jennet Humfrye had a child unmarried and was forced to leave her child with her
sister Mrs Drablow, years later Jennet plans to run away with her son but before
she able to, the tragic event of his death occurs. Due to the unbearable grief Jennet
suffers from a terrible wasting disease leading to her death. Instantly after her death
she returns as the Woman in Black and haunts the people of the town who are too
afraid to speak of her name. After hearing this story he leaves the town, many years
later after getting married and having a child he thinks he sees the woman in black
again and on that day Mr Kipps wife Stella and child die.

Sea Fishing Parallels
It has been said that sea fishing remains one of the most fun activities one can
engage in. There is great variety to the many fish that live in the sea and this variety
can yield a number of adventures. After all, what could be considered more fun than
battling a large fish that was indigenous to the waters you are fishingin? Of course,
when you do hook such a fish, you will need to be able to adequately reel it in. This
means you will need to proper equipment to do so. As such, you will need to
purchase sea fishing reels that are up to the task.
Is there much of a difference among the various reels you could purchase? The
answer to this question is an absolute yes. When you have matched the right fishing
reels with the particular game fish you are seeking, the results can be rather positive.
When you have the wrong reel improperly matched for your venture, you may
discover your fishing trip does not live up to the initial expectations you had for it. ...

Filial Piety In The Good Earth By Pearl S. Buck
In this day and age, if you were abused as a child by your family members it is
more socially acceptable to leave your family entirely behind as soon as you turn
eighteen, or even before that point. Back in China during and before the time of the
Chinese Revolution, this was not the case. In The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck,
Buck demonstrates the bind of filial pietythrough the depiction of Wang Lung and his
uncle. Since the time of the Chinese Revolution, the dynamics of a familyhave
changed in a positive way because people are beginning to not be bonded to their
family on the basis of filial piety.
In The Good Earth, main character Wang Lung is bound to his uncle because of
filial piety. Wang Lung s uncle is a lazy and imposed upon Wang Lung and his
family throughout the novel, continuously using Wang Lung s duty of filial piety to
silence him. This passage from the novel sums up Wang Lung s experience with his
uncle. Wang Lung s Uncle began at this time to become the trouble which Wang
Lung had surmised from the beginning that he might be. This uncle was the younger
brother of Wang Lung s father, and by all the claims of relationship he might depend
upon Wang Lung if he had not enough for himself and his family (59). As his father s
brother, and his elder, Wang Lung must respect his uncle and listen to his wishes.
Wang Lung s obligation to respect the older generation leads to his uncle
continuously exploiting him, in his poverty and his wealth. Wang Lung s uncle is

the father had been in his childhood years. The father looks back at those years and

Like how when he was a boy, he would wake up early to fish. Now the father wishes
his son would do the same. It seemed the little boy just took the trip for granted. He
didn t appear to be as appreciative as the father once was.
The father describes the view as pretty much being the same. How things felt the
same, like the moss on his feet and such. He didn t feel that the lake had changed any,
but everything around it did.
This is when the idea of a duel personality comes into picture. The father can almost
see himself as a child, doing the things he wished his son would do. When he was
young he would get up especially early to fix his fishing pole and even help set the
dinner table. Then he realizes that his son doesn t do any of these things, making the
father feel as if the trip just isn t the same.
As the story progresses, the father begins to point out the differences of his once

of the other family s greet you, the madness of the train station, and the smells of the
wilderness. All of those things were gone, replace by motor boats that would wake

OPEC is an international organization that formed in September of 1960. OPEC
headquarters reside in Vienna, Austria, however they are a collective representation
of 13 different oil exporting nations. Over its lifetime, it has conjured many different
interpretations of its effect in the oil world. Some views determine that OPECdoes not
have a significant effect on oil prices or market dynamics but instead the worldwide
competitive market. Another view concludes that OPEC uses their power to
monopolize the market. The Organization of the PetroleumExporting Countries

organization that unifies petroleum policies of its member in order to keep a stable

amount of the world demand for crude oil. This can affect the crude oil prices in the
world market.
In general this study looks at how relevant is OPEC. In regards to oil production,
setting oil prices in the world oil industry, and OPEC s market shares and market

Marble City Food And Brewery Essay
Every once in a while my family and I have a family gathering in a fine restaurant.
Last family gathering, we were looking for a restaurant that offers a warm
atmosphere, good service, and great food, nothing more and nothing less. Granite
City Food Brewery located in West Acres Regional shopping center, met our
expectation and was on point. We had a great experience eatingout and really got
what we paid for. It provides a warm, elegant atmosphere, cheerful and friendly
customerservice, and delicious, mouth watering food. Restaurants around the town
offer a variety of food and services, but not all of them offer a warm, inviting
atmosphere like Granite City Food Brewery. When customers first walk in the
door, a friendly hostess greets and welcomes them in. The aroma of the food

where they make beer. From the dining area diners can see the chef and head cooks

Alkaline Batteries
Batteries are machines that turn chemical energy into electrical energy by combining
different chemicals. (What is a battery, n.d). The difference alkaline batteries and
other types of batteries is alkaline batteries are not reusable while of the other battery
types are. (What are Batteries, 2014). Despite how many times the various battery
types can be used, they are all made of the same chemicals. When electrons flow in
the battery, it creates an electrical current that powers things. The battery puts the
right chemicals in the right relationships, and then puts a wall between them. When
the two opposite sides of a battery are connected by a conductor, the electrons flow

Another experiment was conducted testing the effect of temperature on computer

slow down. The computers may also shut off. The experiment also argues that cool
temperatures were not as dangerous as warm temperatures, but they could still do
damage to the booting of the computer. However, this experiment also concluded
that having a temperature that is too cool can be dangerous. If the computer is too
cool, it will boot up too quickly which will cause the circuit to expand for good

Operation Anaconda Command Structure
Command Structure of Operation Anaconda In the simplest of terms, command
structures utilized during combat operations are commanded by one commander with
the resources and authority to plan and execute operations. Prior to Operation
Anaconda multiple dislocated command structures oversaw operations within the
same area of responsibility (AOR). During Operation Anaconda the lack of one
command structure with the authority over all assets and participants resulted in
fratricide, competition over assets, and other areas of inefficiencies and
ineffectiveness. Command Structure and locations before Operation Anaconda In the
infancy of Operation Enduring Freedom the command structure was dislocated,
lacked complete oversight, and had other responsibilities that stacked the deck
against them to be able to properly prepare for Operation Anaconda. General Franks

MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. CENTCOM directed Operations through the
Coalition Forces Air Component Command (CFACC) via its Combined Air
Operations Center (CAOC) in the Persian Gulf, and the Coalition Forces Land

Essay On The Blitz Spirit
The Blitz Spirit was a myth. People did not come together during the war and it
was a very hard time for ordinary Londoners. Do you agree? From September 1940
to May 1941, a horrific event ran through England. The Blitz was a series of
bombing that the Nazi carried out on most parts of England and aimed especially
at Londoners. The Nazi thought that they could weaken Britain s strength and over
power Britain so it would be easier to take over; during this, over a million homes
were demolished and the bombings killed more than 40,000 people. It is
questioned whether the existence of the Blitz Spirit is correct or just a myth;
some people agree that it was real, during the Blitz, people pulled together. It didn t
matter whether you were rich or poor everyone helped each other out and got on
with their lives as best as they could. That was the Blitz spirit. However other
people go against that and say, the idea of the Blitz spirit was invented to make
people feel better. In reality, people did not come... Show more content on

Old men, little children, the crippled, the veterans of former wars, aged women, the
hard pressed citizens, the sturdy workman with his hammer in the shipyard, the
members of every kind of ARP service, are proud to feel that they stand in the line
together with our fighting men. This is a grand, heroic period of our history, and the
light of glory shines upon all. In this quotation, Winston Churchill entirely states that
the Blitz spirit was not false by saying that everyone did come together and treasured
every good moment. This suggests that no matter what your status was, every
individual work with each other without much dissatisfaction. Winston entirely
rationalises Stella s opinion by speaking this. Hence the Blitz spirit did take place
because there are numerous opinions and proof from the rich and the working class
that express that the Blitz was

also get revenge by killing both her sins because they are the fruit of Jason and she

to Corinth and tells Medeathat he will take her to Athens because she has

He decides to remarry the king s daughter. Medea is furious and she decides to plot
revenge. We see here that Jason s plan is to marry for himself to advance in society
and that seemed like a good idea at first but then his plan backfired. In the interest
of advancement he gets many people killed even of his own blood. This story is
similar to the story of Actaeon. In the Actaeon story he decides to go on a little
walk and sees Diana naked. After she is mad and turns him into a deer. His hunting

good idea to take a rest and to take the walk and to see Diana but his plan backfired
and he was killed. In both stories both men thought that their intentions were good but

Towards the end of the engagement dinner the Birling s parlour maid Edna enters
the room to explain that an An Inspector s Called . The most important thing about
this sentence is the word called , it s a word that is usually used in informal
conversations. That s what makes it so deceptive, Edna says An Inspectors Called
as if the Inspector is just dropping in for an informal chat and something to eat, but
it s quite the opposite really. The way the Inspector operates may appear casual laid
back and spontaneous but he has only one objective and he uses his single minded
and calculating ways to get the results he wants. He likes to work systematically
dealing with one person and one line of enquiry at a time; he confronts each of
them with a piece of evidence before breaking them down and making them talk.
Sheila understands this when she says He s giving us the rope so that we ll hang
ourselves . The Inspector s real power lies in his knowledge, he can move the
discussion on to a different topic as and when he chooses, after he first enters the
room and explains who he is; he starts off the investigation by giving a summary of
the event s leading up to Eva Smith s death that
Essay about The Impact Of Religious Settlers In Religious...
The places where we live today have not always been here. The way we live has
not always been the same. In fact, very few places that existed back in the colonial
times exist today. If they still exist, it is because of the success gained over the
years gone by after the settlers came to the New World. Settlers came to the New
World in search of many things. They came in search of gold, they came for new
lives, and they came for religious freedom.
In England, during this time period, people were being judged, separated and
persecuted on the basis of their religious beliefs. There were two groups of people
that were unhappy with the Church. These groups came to be known as the Puritans
and the Separatists. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Puritans are known for founding the Massachusetts Bay Colony. These people of
the journey also set out for their self government to be a commonwealth, which is a
community founded on law and united by an agreement that the law would serve the
common good of the people.
Among these people who were busy trying to remake a remarkable Christian life,
there were people who didn t necessarily agree with the common viewpoint. These
people became known as dissenters. Dissenters were often persecuted for their
beliefs, and just a few up and went and actually made a difference. They are still
recognized today.
In the colony of Rhode Island, there was one main dissenter who was very well
known. He was the assistant pastor in Salem in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. He
had two main thoughts that got him into trouble with his community. One was the
fact that he questioned the legality of the colony s charter, since the Indians had not
been paid for the taking of their land. Another point was the fact that he believed that
the civil government of the colony had no right to punish religious dissenters. He felt
that people s personal views of the religion should not be punished because everyone
is entitled to their own opinion.
Soon after he stated his thoughts, Roger Williams was banished from the colony. He
went off and founded Providence, which was the first village in what is

architects, engineers, contractors and client. By using this building product model,
people will get a clearer view in what the QS explained about. Next, with the
introduction of BIM, the progress of works in all stages will be reduced. This is due
to the sophisticated software where any correction on the drawing will be

be found in areas near South East Asia.5 Their endangerment in the present day is
due to loss of habitat and being the subject of hunting, both of which have led to
some decline in population.5 The green turtle is a species of turtle that is also listed
as endangered.5 This species of turtle lives in a wide range of ocean water, however
tropical waters is their most popular destination.5 This particular turtle species is
endangered due to the demand for consumption, fishing and the reduction of habitat.5
The red wolf is a species that is listed as critically endangered and one that roams our
homeland.5 Over three decades ago, the red wolf population was considered to be
eliminated from the wild, however they have miraculously made a comeback.5 They
still are considered to be critically endangered due to hunting, protective killings and
the reduction of habitat.5 They have shown improvement in their population numbers
since once thought to be extinct. Hopefully their number will continue to move in the
positive direction.5 The pygmy hippopotamus is yet another species that is also
endangered.5 The hippopotamus can be found in the Western side of Africa near the
equator.5 The endangerment of this species is due to the reduction of habitat which
in turn is leading to deadly encounters with humans.5 Extinction could very well be a

In the second competition section, male s performance was better than female because there had no female catch the calf. But few male was catch the calf. The same competition of first and third section were all white malewhich I believed that the section was too dangerous for femaleto competed. Since cowboys who dropped off from the horseback seemed painful and hurtful which was not good to women s body. In the realistic world, people tend to believe that men are stronger than women in gender role, so that women maybe too weak to handle that dangerous activity. Since I have not attended rodeo before, therefore I know nothing about the rules of the rodeo. I tried to understand the rodeo show based on my observation. So I am going to use gender role to analyze the rodeo show of the Western culture. First, it was obvious that white male dominant group were leading the activity. The first entry the ground was a heavy middle age cowboy, and two young beautiful cowgirls followed after him. Then the judge place had few white males were standing there. In the second section there had twice cowboys than cowgirls in the competition. Only the entertainment rodeo preferment were cowgirls. Therefore, from my perspective, this rodeo culture is leading by white males, who have power to manage. In the very old century, men were the one to go out

  • 5. The Effects Of Social Media On Children It isn t a bad thing sharing a couple of pictures of our favorite moments, or those selfies that make us popular with friends; the ones that help us gain followers. Or using it for the right reason of communicating with family all over the world and meeting new friends abroad. But don t you think that users such as teenagers in specific take advantage of what social media is actually for. At times parents are confused because they think that their child is using Facebook for the connection of their loved ones, or even group chats that are meant for positive feedback. Realistically we all know that isn t the case. Because deep inside your child s room you can find messages that were meant for sharing of their personal self. In this case sexting. Another ruining is the destruction of family relationships, where physically your child may be present, but mentally are not. And what about your teenage daughter that is old enough to maneuver herself when driving, so you think. Do you think she is focused on the road, or on that bright blue screen that teenagers like to call, my baby . At times we may feel that social media might be the right thing for us. Or that it might affect us in more positive ways rather than in negative ways, but although technology may be the best source for connecting distinct cultures and societies in ways that seemed impossible before, technology also fails miserably to an extent where messages that were meant for positive feedback have turned into

  • 8. How does Clint Eastwood, director of the film, Invictus,... How does Clint Eastwood, director of the film, Invictus, use the South African rugby team (the Springboks) as a vehicle to bring a troubled nation together? Clint Eastwood shows the change in the nation of South Africa in Invictus, using the Springboks as a vehicle. He starts the film with large amounts of separation, followed by the steady change in the middle of the movie, and finishing with the nation combined. In the beginning of the film, Clint Eastwood shows how separated black and white people are and how they do not get along, due to the change of the government and the Springboks. Because of the change in government, Nelson Mandela s staff started to pack their things up as if they were leaving their jobs, but Nelson Mandela ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But, towards the end of the scene, the Springboks score and win the game, and the police become more accepting and forgiving. They begin to celebrate with the child and raise him up on their shoulders as if he were a mascot. Ironically, in the beginning of the film, the same child is seen refusing to wear a Springbok jersey. By using the same child in the beginning of the movie and towards the end, this shows the audience how the South Africans have changed their view on the Springboks. This acceptance of the Springboks showed the beginnings of a nation coming together. During the World Cup, the final game in the film, the scene occasionally cuts to shots of empty streets and empty houses. This technique shows that everyone is watching the game and that everyone is excited to see the outcome. Another thing Clint Eastwood did to show the black and white people combined is at the end of the movie. He used the world cup to symbolise the nation had been brought together. He did this by making Francois and Chester to both hold the World Cup up above their heads, showing the black and white hand together. By the end of the film Invictus, during the final scene, one can see that the crowd watching the rugby game has changed quite considerably, compared to the game in the start

Yes, you are right, the culture of our magnificent country. Our country is actually envied by many foreigners. Why? Well, one of the main reasons is because of how we Malaysians can live in harmony for many years, even though we consist of many different races and ethnic groups. The culture of our country started out with the unique combination and amount of ethnic groups in our country. Let s understand more of our country s ethnic group before we go on shall we? Although living in the same country, I still do not know much of my people; it is a shame for many young people nowadays too, all they know are mainly the three main ethnic groups. Besides that, another we must not forget about is that many foreigners, or shall I say legal immigrants came to our country live as citizens of Malaysia. For example, the Koreans, Japanese, Filipinos, Indonesians, etc because of the way we live. Being a Malaysian, we are very lucky. We live in a place where there are no serious and deadly problems like natural disasters or war. Besides that, the pace of how we live is very slow, carefree and we don t have much stress compare to other country. Studies show that the Koreans and Japanese in the country came because they wanted to live the Malaysian way. The main question our country s people are asking is, why Malaysia? Of all countries, why pick Malaysia? Why does so many people from the outside wants to come to our country while we, people of Malaysia wants to migrate to other people s country? Maybe one day, Malaysia s three major ethnic groups are Malays, Japanese and Koreans. It would be very weird. Malaysia will not be Malaysia anymore. Ethnic relations go way back into our country s history. They are not just the natural consequences of the differences between cultures. Due to peninsular Malaysia s strategic

This paper will introduce some negative affects found as a result of children imitating and idolizing the media and the celebrities that go along with it. There are also positive results that come from the media; the media is not all bad. This paper will just focus on the bad affects I have found. The National Eating Disorders Association says, 81% of 10 year olds are scared of getting heavy (Teen Health and the Media). Americans spend over 110 billion dollars on fast food in 2001 (Teen Health and the Media). Americans also consumed an estimated 56 gallons of soda per person (Teen Health and the Media). Those are also contributing factors besides the media to obesity in children. If children are not being subjected to junk food advertisements, they are seeing thin models portrayed as beautiful and perfect. Runway models are becoming the worst role models for any young children or adults. In Madrid, Spain a fashion show decided to turn away models with low BMI in an effort to avoid eating disorders among young teens (Woolls, D., Sept. 2006). This is a good decision for teens and for the company s reputations. Concha Guerra says, Fashion shows are mirrors for many young women (Woolls, D., Sept. 2006). • 11. Hope In Dystopian Literature Dystopian literature has made an uprising popularity in the recent years. Lots of audiences like to read about character s conflicts that have to do with despairing pasts and how they find hope. Most authors have accordingly adapted these themes and made them their own. While the authors have all made their own works, they all describe the same characteristics. For example, the government threatening the citizens and putting them in despair, making them feel as there is no hope in the future society. The outcome of these societies lead to characters having hope and making alliances to make the future better. I continued to watch the scoreboard, expecting to see his brother Daito s score increase as well. But it never happened...Daito had just been killed (Cline 233). The quote demonstrates that Cline went to the extreme and used the theme despair and killed a character. The reason why Cline produces a more effective way to communicate the theme is because it is more clear to convey what is happening. Orwell s writing is more challenging to understand then Cline s. Therefore, Cline produces a clearer theme then Orwell. If Cline did not add this part into the novel, Wade s thoughts would be different and he may have never got information he needed to beat the OASIS. Tempur-Pedic And The Impact On Fagerdala World Foams In the early 1970 s, NASA s Ames Research Center funded a development project designed to create a substance that could help relieve astronauts of the incredible g forces experienced during lift off. They believed that one of the key secrets to reducing g forces on the body was to use a foam material that could conform to each person s shape and hold this conformity. While a foam mold of each astronaut s body shape could accomplish this, any movement would take a person out of this position and create incorrect pressure points against the body. Instead, they created a new foam material that was visco elastic and therefore able to conform to a person s shape, but then come back to a normal shape once pressure was removed from the foam. I will use this compare and contrast essay to try and explain in which way the Oliver Twist book is both very similar and very different from the film adaptation of Oliver Twist. This contrast is not very significant because the outcome is the same for both the film and the novel. I would like to end up with saying that I thought the novel was better than the film and I will explain why I think so and why I think others think likewise. • 21. Education Is An Important Part Of Life Education is an important part of life even for people who are already educated, but education never ends. As a matter of fact, intelligence is constantly increasing, so educated people should not waste such educations with unnecessary leisure activities like watching television when a person can continually improve his or her education. In today s culture, an educated person should spend more time reading than watching television because reading builds the reader s vocabulary and reinforces the prior knowledge of particular terminology, but watching television requires no active thinking. Challenging the mindis one of the greatest ways to improve it, so reading at higher levels, regardless of age or education status, will build the vocabulary of a reader, thus making the reader a more knowledgeable person. When a reader stumbles across an unfamiliar word in a sentence, he or she may use context clues to figure out the meaning of the word, or this person could simply look up the word in a dictionary or similar source. Seeing unfamiliar words challenges a reader s mind because each word is introduced multiple times in order to define it: once when reading the sentence the first time, twice after reading it the second time, three times in order to look up the word, and four times when the reader uses the word s definition in place of the term in the sentence. These re introductions build a reader s vocabulary which is important because having a stronger vocabulary allows a

It is unnecessary for civilians to purchase automatic weapons for non military use. If there was a ban on the purchasing of militarized weapons by civilians, it would decrease the number of fatal mass shootings drastically. Statistics show that in 2015, there were 372 mass shootings, killing 475 people and wounding 1,870. Also in 2015, there were 64 school shootings, that number include incidents where a firearm was shot but no one was injured. There are roughly 300 million guns in the United States, which is about a third of the population. The U.S. Department of Justice and the Council on Foreign Affairs reported that 11,385 people died on average annually in firearm incidents in the U.S. between 2001 and 2011. During the 1980 s and 1990 s, there were numerous mass shootings that involved automatic weapons. An example of one of the first mass shootings in the U.S. occurred in 1989. Patrick Purdy returned to his elementary school in Stockton, California armed with an AKS rifle, which is similar to the AK 47, and opened fire. The hero who is a weak, pathetic individual who is often lost physically and mentally, and the code hero who usually shows grace under pressure and helps the Hemingway hero find his place. These two heroes often come together in a relationship where the code hero is the teacher who initiates the Hemingway hero into the code. Ernest Hemingways short story, The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber, is the quintessential example of Hemingway s heroes. This can clearly be seen when she returns home to the tent and is simply too tired to talk to Francis about the night. The repeated used of the words too tired is an indication that the manly Wilson did a good job with Margot. All of Francis Macomber s cowardice would disappear however; on the buffalo hunt. The morning of the hunt had arrived and Macomber was ready. The minutes of the actual attack were over before Macomber knew it. The car saw the buffalo, he and Wilson got out, and the shooting began. Once the three buffalo were down Macomber felt a drunken elation. He immediately said to Wilson, Let s go to the car, I want a drink. This is the climax in Macomber s becoming a man. Early on in the story Macomber was satisfied with a gimlet, but now he wants to celebrate with whisky, a true man s drink. Macomber repeatedly says, let s have a drink, lets have a drink. He had never felt so good in his entire life. True symbolism occurs when the men find out that the first buffalo, the one Macomber shot, isn t actually dead. I think Hemingway did this as a second chance for the lion incident. Now; however,

Abstract Scalable cache coherence protocols are essential for multiprocessor systems to satisfy the requirement for more dominant high performance servers with shared memory. However, the small size of the directory cache of the increasingly bigger systems may result in recurrent directory entries evictions and, consequently, invalidations of cached blocks that will gravely corrupt system performance. According to prior studies, only a single core accesses a considerable fraction of data blocks, so it is needless to monitor these in the directory structure. Using the technique of uniprocessor systems and deactivating their consistency protocol is the best way to identify those private blocks actively. The directory caches will stop the tracking of a substantial amount of blocks after the deactivation of the protocol, which will minimize their load and enhance their adequate size. The proposal only needs minor changes because the operating system collaborates in finding the private blocks. There are two fundamental contributions to the study. The first is to reveal that the classification of data blocks at block level assists to identify significantly more classified data blocks as compared to work in a few earlier studies of organizing the cache blocks at the granularity of page and sub page. The method minimizes the proportion of blocks in the directory necessary for tracking significantly in comparison to the same course approaches of level classification. It, in turn,

From the 18th century, originating with Martha Washington to the present time, Michelle Obama, 43 lovely ladies have embarked upon this role. Therefore, the traditional role was transferred to an immediate family member. For example, during the Bill Clinton presidency, First Lady Hillary was pursuing her own political ambitions. In turn, the responsibilities were transferred to the daughter, Chelsea. In addition, this role of being in charge of the White House as hostess, manager, decorator, caretaker is now considered the traditional role and it is still part of what First Ladies do. All these structures affect people every day; and like all great ideas, it had to be planned. Without a plan for these ideas, how else would it be known how to build these great structures. And with the population growing we need more people to design new homes, businesses and other structures. Architecture is a major career that requires essential skills such as math, science, communication, and most importantly creativity. With these skills it is the responsibility of an architect to design these projects and make sure it is built properly. Every structure needs a plan, and the first step in an architectural plan is to make a design that fits the customer s needs. These needs will vary on every project such as a drawbridge that could open 100 meters across, or an office building that needs to be able to sustain hurricane winds. Although every structure is different, they all have basic components that make sure they stand (Shapiro 1). One common structure architects design are skyscrapers. The first part of a skyscraper that an architect will design is the foundation. The foundation is designed by what shape the bottom of the building will be. A pit will be dug out and filled with concrete and columns must be designed into the concrete to reach bedrock, so the building will be anchored. An example of a skyscraper ground

Luck Egalitarianism Summary In reaction to gross and compounding economic disparities in the international sphere, cosmopolitan philosophers like Moellendorf have addressed the international state, claiming that the degree of inequality is unjustifiable. Moellendorf operates with a Rawlsian understanding of ethical relations, but expands this notion from the domestic sense into the international sense, claiming that the degree of globalization is sufficient such that it creates an association in which the interdependence is sufficiently strong, largely non voluntary and constitutive of a significant part of the background rules that govern members lives, forming the basis of duties for distributive justice. From this understanding for the need for global distributive justice, Moellendorf claims that the main strategy to address this inequality is through a global progressive tax. Last family gathering, we were looking for a restaurant that offers a warm atmosphere, good service, and great food, nothing more and nothing less. Granite City Food Brewery located in West Acres Regional shopping center, met our expectation and was on point. We had a great experience eatingout and really got what we paid for. It provides a warm, elegant atmosphere, cheerful and friendly customerservice, and delicious, mouth watering food. Restaurants around the town offer a variety of food and services, but not all of them offer a warm, inviting atmosphere like Granite City Food Brewery. There is a bar area and a big dining area on the left. On one side of the restaurant there are a four big beer tanks where they make beer. The difference alkaline batteries and other types of batteries is alkaline batteries are not reusable while of the other battery types are. (What are Batteries, 2014). Despite how many times the various battery types can be used, they are all made of the same chemicals. When electrons flow in the battery, it creates an electrical current that powers things. The battery puts the right chemicals in the right relationships, and then puts a wall between them. Operation Anaconda Command Structure Command Structure of Operation Anaconda In the simplest of terms, command structures utilized during combat operations are commanded by one commander with the resources and authority to plan and execute operations. Prior to Operation Anaconda multiple dislocated command structures oversaw operations within the same area of responsibility (AOR). During Operation Anaconda the lack of one command structure with the authority over all assets and participants resulted in fratricide, competition over assets, and other areas of inefficiencies and ineffectiveness. • 48. Essay On The Blitz Spirit The Blitz Spirit was a myth. People did not come together during the war and it was a very hard time for ordinary Londoners. Do you agree? From September 1940 to May 1941, a horrific event ran through England. The Blitz was a series of bombing that the Nazi carried out on most parts of England and aimed especially at Londoners. The Nazi thought that they could weaken Britain s strength and over power Britain so it would be easier to take over; during this, over a million homes were demolished and the bombings killed more than 40,000 people. It is questioned whether the existence of the Blitz Spirit is correct or just a myth; some people agree that it was real, during the Blitz, people pulled together. It didn t matter whether you were rich or poor everyone helped each other out and got on with their lives as best as they could. That was the Blitz spirit. However other people go against that and say, the idea of the Blitz spirit was invented to make people feel better. In reality, people did not come... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This suggests that no matter what your status was, every individual work with each other without much dissatisfaction. Winston entirely rationalises Stella s opinion by speaking this. In fact, very few places that existed back in the colonial times exist today. If they still exist, it is because of the success gained over the years gone by after the settlers came to the New World. Settlers came to the New World in search of many things. They came in search of gold, they came for new lives, and they came for religious freedom. In the colony of Rhode Island, there was one main dissenter who was very well known. He was the assistant pastor in Salem in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. He had two main thoughts that got him into trouble with his community. One was the fact that he questioned the legality of the colony s charter, since the Indians had not been paid for the taking of their land. Another point was the fact that he believed that the civil government of the colony had no right to punish religious dissenters. He felt that people s personal views of the religion should not be punished because everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Soon after he stated his thoughts, Roger Williams was banished from the colony. He went off and founded Providence, which was the first village in what is
