Four Types Of Essays
Crafting an essay on the topic "Four Types of Essays" can be both challenging and rewarding.
The difficulty lies not only in comprehensively exploring each essay type but also in presenting
the information in a clear, engaging, and cohesive manner. To begin with, one must delve into
the nuances of narrative, descriptive, expository, and persuasive essays, understanding their
distinct characteristics, purposes, and structures.
The narrative essay requires the author to narrate a story or personal experience, blending
elements of creativity with a coherent plot. Descriptive essays, on the other hand, demand vivid
language and sensory details to paint a vivid picture for the reader. Expository essays necessitate
a thorough investigation and exposition of a specific topic, relying on factual information and
analysis. Finally, persuasive essays call for the writer to convince the audience of a particular
viewpoint, employing logical reasoning and compelling arguments.
Juggling these diverse essay types within a single composition can be akin to navigating a
literary maze. The challenge lies not only in the transition between different writing styles but
also in maintaining a consistent voice and tone throughout. Ensuring a seamless flow from one
essay type to another requires a careful balancing act, avoiding abrupt shifts that could disrupt
the reader's understanding and engagement.
Additionally, the research involved in gathering relevant information for each essay type adds
another layer of complexity. Thoroughly understanding the nuances of each genre and
supporting assertions with credible sources demands time and effort. Striking the right balance
between informative content and engaging writing style is crucial to keep the reader's interest
sustained.
Despite these challenges, writing an essay on the four types of essays can be a valuable exercise
in honing one's analytical and communicative skills. It provides an opportunity to showcase
versatility in writing styles, demonstrating a command over narrative, descriptive, expository,
and persuasive techniques. Moreover, successfully navigating through these challenges can lead
to a deeper appreciation for the intricacies of different writing forms.
In conclusion, while crafting an essay on the four types of essays poses its challenges, the
process offers an enriching experience that hones writing skills and deepens understanding. It is a
journey through varied terrains of storytelling, description, exposition, and persuasion,
demanding a writer's adeptness in seamlessly transitioning between different literary landscapes.

Reflection And How It Aids Professional Development
Within...
Their are many demanding professional adjustments when transitioning from
student nurse to graduate nurse and the use of refection during this time is said to
be a very important tool in guiding the learning process especially in the transition
of a student nurse into a graduated registered nurse. It is common in the field of
nursing to utilise reflective journalling to critically analyse certain experiences and
reflect on how they made them feel and react. This involves looking deeper into a
particular experience and deciding what was good, what was bad and what would be
a better course of action if they were to re encounter it in the future. The purpose of
this essay is to critically analyse the concept of reflection journalling and to find out if
it an essential component to nursing practise in the transition from student nurseto
graduate registered nurse.
Body 1: Positive: The advantage of reflection in nursing
This paragraph is about the concept of reflection and how it aids professional
development in nursing. To do this, we first have to understand what reflection and
reflective practise is. The Nursing and midwifery board of Australia s National
competency standards for the registered nurse under the Critical thinking and analysis
domain requires the nurse to reflects on own practice to identify professional
development needs. This comes under the heading of: Participates in professional
development to enhance nursing practice (Nursing and Midwifery Board of
Essay on Marriage in the Victorian Age
Many people believe that marriage is important in this day and age, but it holds
little significance compared to the importance of marriage in the Victorian era. In
the Victorian era women were to get married to a man of the same or a better social
status, be good wives, and be a mother to her husband s children. Very few marriages
started with love, but a womans life is not complete without being married. Over
time, the role of married women has evolved a great deal and they now have rights
and privileges. John Stuart Millwas one of the great thinkers of the Victorian era, and
his essay The Subjection of Women tells how few privileges women had and that
they were slaves to their husbands. He also says that women are their own people and

Feminists ought to get a good whipping. Were woman to unsex themselves by
claiming equality with men, they would become the most hateful, heathen and
disgusting of beings and would surely perish without male protection (Moore).
There are many different reasons why women got married in the Victorian era.
First and foremost was due to the lack of education. Women were usually
uneducated or were taught only basic responsibilities. If a woman had too much
education, Victorians thought that it would weaken their womb and deform their
bodies (Moore). From early childhood, girls were taught that they should get
married and have children when they get older (Hamilton). The little education that
women got was received mostly at home. There were some boarding schools, but
there was no university for women to attend. The studies that a girl would learn
were French, drawing, dancing, music, and how to use globes. If the boarding
school was interested in teaching any practical skills, girls would learn plain sewing
as well as embroidery, and accounts. Through knowledge and education a woman
could have had a better sense of self worth and pride. On the contrary, boys were
well educated at home by a tutor until they were old enough to attend public
Cotton Gin Impact On Slavery
After reviewing the information given it was brought to my attention how little I
was taught about the cotton gin. Something I learned while watching the video
provided was that the need for slaves became greater after the cotton gin was
created. It only makes since, if the cotton was being cleaned as fast as it would equal
to one hundred people, you would need more hands on deck to handle the freshly
pulled, and clean cotton. To hear the impact that the cotton gin had on slaverytruly
shocked me. While at first it wasn t clear to me why the cotton gin would have had
an impact. Before doing research I thought it was a relief to the slaves, they finally
had a machine that would allow them to take a step back and not work as hard. I was

Compare And Contrast Eisenhower And Truman
During presidencies, Eisenhower and Truman both struggles on how they would end
the cold war around the globe. They had high expectations on how they would
prevent the war in crippled Europe using America s foreign policy.
Harry S. Truman a democrat served in the senates, in 1934 he became a Vice,
president. He later succeeded President Franklin Roosevelt 1945, after his death as
the 33rd President of the United Sates. On the other hand, Dwight Eisenhower was a
modern Republican. A former commander of the Allied Forces in Western Europe
during the Word War II. In 1956, Eisenhower was the 34th President of the United
States. Both men faced challenges in handling the war and economic crisis and
foreign affairs during the period. Some of their
Summary Of Their Walk
Therefore, when Catherine speaks to Henry about novel on their walk, she thinks
base off John Thorpe s saying, that Henry don t read novels and because is not
clever enough for them and gentlemen read better books (Austen, Chapter 14). After
Henry clarifies he likes the book, Catherine changed her thought and expressed this,
I am very glad to hear it indeed, and now I shall never be ashamed of liking Udolpho
myself. But I really thought before, young men despised novels amazingly. (Austen,
Chapter 14). These details from the noveldescribed the process of how Catherine
changed her thought about novels after John and Henry. This supports that
Catherine formulates her opinions based off John s and Henry s opinions. All of
these are some examples that support Catherine s reliance of judgement from other
people in her life. From Catherine s interest in fable since young and not fond of
reality stories and writing, Catherine s sense of reality is interpreted with books. It
harmed her by causing a mix understanding between novels and reality. Because of
this and lack of journaling to reflect her life, she gets stuck in the novels she reads
and depends on other people to form her judgements. Eleanor Tilney is Henry Tilney
s younger sister. Although Jane Austendid not specifically stated that she has but
from the way Henry knows so detail of what women need to record in their journal
and Catherine s thought showed that she might also be keeping a journal. According to
The Ethics Of The Clinical Trials
In recent years, the number of clinical trials increased significantly. With an
increasing number of clinical trials, the ethical issues related to clinical trials have
also increased. Furthermore, the ethics of the clinical trials were violated on several
occasions in last few decades. Nazi experiments with World War II initiated the world
leaders to implement a code of conduct that protects the autonomy of the clinical trial
subjects. Therefore, the Nuremberg Code was initiated in the year of 1949.
However, this Code failed to protect the human subjects in clinical trials. Tuskegee
syphilis trial was one of the few incidents that were exposed in front of the entire
country. The regulatory agencies and the government then realized that there should
be better regulations to protect the human subjects in the clinical trials. A series of
codes and regulations were established to protect the subjects in the clinical trial
after the Tuskegee incident. The Belmont report (1979), International Conference on
Harmonization guideline for Good Clinical Practice (1996), the Declaration of
Helsinki (2000), and CIOMS International Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical
Research Involving Human Subjects (2002) are the main guidelines in recent years.
There are also federal regulations to protect human subjects in the clinical trials.
They are USCFR Title21 Part 50, 56 (Protection of Human Subjects and Institutional
Review Boards, 1991), and USCFR Title 46 (The Common Rule, 1981). These federal
The Argument Against Burning The American Flag
The citizens of this great nation, The United States of America, should uphold,
have respect, have gratitude, and have honor when it comes to dealing this great
nation s beautiful flag. The people of this great nation who decide to set fire to Old
Glory could face some major consequences. Some of these consequences may
come in a variety of forms, such as fire hazards, riots, and sometimes even death.
One of the main arguments against burning our great nation s flag is that the people
who have fought for the American flag and all that it stands for, tend to feel
disrespected. The article Flag Burning Amendment states that Burning the nation s
flag shows disrespect to America . It provokes feelings of anger and disgust. But
punishing citizens for using their personal property to express their personal views
violates the very ideas that animate our constitution with meaning . Furthermore
there are some people that believe the American flag should not be considered
someone s personal property, but perhaps it should considered as the government s
property instead. It should be held in high regard like some people s bibles or other
religious items. The American flag should also be considered a very sacred item.
Obviously flag burning is a fire hazard that can have a very harmful outcome to the
environment and all of its surroundings. Another argument that is stated in the
E.M.S.A. says Many materials in clothing can burn (E.M.S.A). Consider the
The Energy Of Fossil Fuels
The capability to yoke energy sources and put them toward dynamic use has
engaged a vital role in economic development globally. The industrial revolution in
Europe was motivated in share by the usage of coal to power steam engines for
water and rail transportation, to simplify iron casting, and to power looms and other
industrial gear (Michael Roberts, 67). Prolonged use of effortlessly available oil
aided to fuel nonstop expansion in the twentieth century. Agricultural assembly was
converted by the use of motor powered farm gear and petroleumbased fertilizers and
pesticides. Trucks, airplanes and cars powered by oil products transformed the
transportation of goods and people. Electricity, mainly powered by coal and to a
smaller degree oil and natural gas, funded to the additional automation of engineering
and made possible the expansion of abundant electricity powered technologies
(Michael Roberts, 75).
Although fossil fuels have aided incentive economic development, the fast
consumption of fossil fuels has also added to environmental damage, and could end
up with higher prices in the future. The drilling, mining and transportation of fossil
fuels can lead to the elimination of mountaintops, the pollution of ground water with
methane, and oil spills that plunder beaches and oceans. The burning of fossil fuels
can release chemicals that add to acid rain, smog and mercury contamination. These
instantaneous environmental costs also go along with two prominent worries about

Applying A Graduate School Is Looking Into What
Interest...
One of the first steps toward applying to a graduate school is looking into what
interest you in each school. This report discusses three different graduate programs
in different graduate schools that offer with admission requirements that include,
but not limited to, grade points average (GPA), graduate record examinations
(GRE), Personal Statement, and transcripts. Moreover, it also provides
information in regards of the intangibles of each program such as costs, location,
and funding like assistanceships and scholarships. The first graduate program that
interests me is a master of science in health science that is offered by West Virginia
University, which is located in Morgantown, West Virginia. They require
transcripts from all, previously attended schools with a GPA of a minimum of 3.0
on a 4.0 scale. Also, the GRE is required with no minimum score. Moreover, three
letters of recommendation and a one personal statement are also required. As of
their requirements for international students as myself, 600 on paper based TOFEL
test or 6.5 on an IELTS test must be achieved. Additionally, an interview for this
program is not necessary, however, all prospective graduate students are expected to
have maintained a C or better in their undergraduate courses for a one year of
biology or related coursework, two years of chemistry, one year physics, math
through calculus, one coursework in the social or behavioral sciences, and English.
For this program, the focus of the study is

Examples Of Archetype In The Wizard Of Oz
The Wizard of Oz Archetypes Everyone is unique in their own way but we are all
placed under a general characterization or archetype. In the movie, The Wizard of
Oz, each character is placed under a specific archetype. For example Dorothy is
the maiden, Glinda the good witch of the north is the mother, the wicked witch of
the west is the villain, the lion is the child, and the tin man is the father. Each
character has a certain type of personality that makes them a certain archetype.
Dorothy, the main character, is the maiden because she is a very innocent and pure
person. She s very worrisome when she says, Toto, I ve got a feeling we re not in
Kansas anymore. Dorothy expresses worry when she says this because she doesn t
know where she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She s the villain because she opposes anything that Glinda, Dorothy and her friends
do. She desperately wants her sister s slippers back that Dorothy wears during the
movie and will do anything to try and get them. The wicked witch of the west said,
I ll get you my pretty and your little dog too! This shows that the witch is the villain
because she told Dorothy that she s going after her and will get her slippers at
some point in the movie. The witch follows Dorothy and her friends throughout
their journey down the yellow brick road, she taunts them their whole way to see
the wizard. The witch is the villain because she truly opposes everything that
Dorothy does and wants to keep her from going home to Kansas with her sister s
slippers. The archetype, child, is the cowardly lion. The lion is very childish and
longs for help from others. The lion said, I do believe in spooks. I do believe in
spooks. I do. I do. I do. I do. The lion is very timid towards others and is very scared
of almost everything around him. The lion acted tough when he first met Dorothy,
the scarecrow, and the tin man, but shortly after that he showed that he was scared
and a cowardly lion. The lion is cowardly because he wants to act tough because of
whom he is, but he is very scared of everything around and wants to gain courage

The Goals And Interventions Of The Strategic Family
Therapy
Strategic family therapy developed in the 1950s, by the works of Gregory Bateson,
Jay Haley, Don Jackson, and John Weakland. Also, known as the Palo Alto group
from the Mental Research Institute (Murdock, 2017). Several key identifying
concepts of this therapy are to solve client problems, achieve familygoals, change
individual dysfunctional and problematic behaviors. The strategic family therapy
targets self sustaining changes in the family environment. Goals and Interventions
The Goals and interventions of the Strategic family therapy will apply to Ana s case
because the primarily goals of therapy are to change family dynamics to eliminate or
reduce risk taking behaviors. For example, this therapy may bring Ana unconscious
thoughts to the conscious level, if she allows the counselor to explore her
communication with her family and husband. Ana will experience this though several
interventions of the therapy, such as reframing and restructuring. Ana will also
experience this through problem solving patterns and her transition into being a
mother.
Theory Duration:
The strategic family therapy can be done in 8 to 24 sessions. But Szapocznik,
believe that the therapy lasts over three months for 12 to 24 sessions. The duration of
this theory is brief and short term in the counselling process because it is problem
focused. This strategic family therapy approach will be in sequence with Ana s
insurance restriction because they have authorized her to complete eight
Edward Gordon Craig Uber Marionettes
Edward Gordon Craig, a prominent English set designer and theorist from 1900,
designed sets and created modernist theories which greatly influenced modern theatre.
Regarded as one of his most controversial essays on theatrical discourse, The Actor
and the Гњber marionette rendered Edward Gordon Craig s critique on modern theatre
. Although he appreciates actors and their work to a certain degree, Craig advocates
for the complete removal of actors from theatre and warns actors of their
misconceptions of actingas art form, providing the guidelines on what it means to be
an artist in his eyes. Denouncing actors entirely for their emotional and human
weaknesses, Craig hopes to turn to a developing alternative at the time as their
replacements, large scale puppets uber marionettes whose purposeful movements,
controlled emotional state, and crafted image work together to create a deliberate
impassioned performance. Despite sharing similarities with Craig s uber marionettes
and embodying some aspects of his philosophy, the Muppets ultimately differ in the
respect that they retain and emphasize a human element from humans acting with and
through a puppet.
As mentioned above, Craig holds the notion that these puppets or uber marionettes
will bring about a revival in modern theatre. This revival has to do with the
reforming of the governing laws of theatre and acting as an art. In his essay, Craig
interprets art as the desired expression of an artist s thoughts, emotions,
American Indian Behavioral Health Assessment Instruments
American Indian Behavioral Health Assessment Instruments Dee Manatowa
University of New England Abstract Mental and behavioral health agencies who
service American Indians should employ a culturally relevant approach. Cultural
specificity is essential for understanding beliefs, values, and first language colloquial
speech. Cultural specific assessment information can enhance our understanding of
the client s symptoms and the need for other appropriate evaluation techniques. Client
assessment practice within Indian Health Services (IHS) supports multi culturalism,
cultural competence, and sets the precedence for Tribal agencies to follow. Most
Tribal Health agencies do follow IHS guidelines. However, most of those... Show

In this textbook, materials management includes all activities in the flow of materials
from the supplier to the consumer. Such activities include physical supply, operations
planning and control, and physical distribution. Other terms sometimes used in this
area are business logistics and supply chain management. Often, the emphasis in
business logistics is on transportation and distribution systems with little concern for
what occurs in the factory. Whereas some chapters in this text are devoted to
transportation and distribution, emphasis is placed on operations planning and
control. Distribution and operations are managed by planning and controlling the
flow of materials through them and by using the system s resources to achieve a
desired customer service level. These activities are the responsibility of materials
management and affect every department in a manufacturing business. If the
materials management system is not well designed and managed, the distribution and
manufacturing system will be less effective and more costly. Anyone working in
manufacturing or distribution should have a good basic understanding of the factors
influencing materials flow. This text aims to provide that understanding. APICS

A Compare And Contrast Fats Research Paper
Compare and Contrast Fats Generally, the word shortening means any group of solid
fats. Shortenings generally consist of nearly 100 percent fat. It may be made from
vegetable oils, animal fats, or both. Shortenings are used for may purposes, so
manufacturers have formulated various kinds of fats with various properties.
(Gisslen, 2013)
All Purpose Shortening
Also known as regular shortening, have a tough, waxy texture, and small particles of
the fat tend to hold their shape in a dough or batter. They are called plastic
shortenings, which means they are moldable at room temperature. They have a good
creaming ability. Which means that a good quantity of air can be mixed into them to
give a batter lightness and leavening power. This type of shortening melts only at a
high temperature. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They are also used in many other pastries, breads, and products mixed by creaming,
such as certain pound cakes, cookies, and quick breads.
High Ratio Shortening
These are soft shortenings that spread easily throughout a batter and quickly coat
the particles of sugar and flour. The are call high ratio because they were devised for
use in cake batter that contain a high ratio of sugar and liquid to flour. They also
contain added emulsifying agents, so they can hold a larger quantity of liquid and
sugar than regular shortenings. Which gives a smoother and finer texture to cake and
make them moister. Commonly referred to as emulsifying shortening.
High ratio shortening does not cream well. When a recipe calls for creaming
shortening and sugar, regular shortening should be used. High ratio shortening is
often used in icings because it can hold more sugar and liquid without curdling. It is
more temperature stable and will hold air better upon whipping, improving volume
and stability.
Salman Rushdie s The Satanic Verses
The Cultural Aspects of Salman Rushdie s
The Satanic Verses So India s problem turned out to be the world s problem. What

The quote said by Rushdie can be controversial in many ways. The people who

How Warfare Techniques Have Changed The Construction
Of A...
There are many Warfare methods created for a castle. For instance, there is the
Trebuchet, there are the battlements (Merlins and Embrasures), the catapults, and
much more! I ll be telling you how these warfare techniques have changed the
construction of the castles!!
The first thing I will be telling you about is the Trebuchet, A trebuchet is a catapult
like engine which uses a swinging arm to throw a projectile at the enemy. It is used to
throw rocks (Boulders), dead animals and humans, fireballs, and much more things.
Trebuchets were apart of the attacking defending team of the castles. This means that
this would cost money because the people in the castle would need to get supplies.
The reason the Trebuchets influenced castle construction is that when the people of
the castle new that the enemies would have the trebuchets they would need to build
higher walls so when things start to fly at the castle they would want to have
something that would block the flying obstacles. ... Show more content on

They look like mini/small walls that go up and down around all of the castle walls.
The reasons the Merlins and Embrasures are influenced construction is because
when there was a war these would act as little barriers for when archers would
shoot, the defenders would duck because they would not be hit by arrows, boulders,
and more. This is why Merlin and Embrasures were influenced for castle

Edward Snowden LAUSD essay
Edward Snowden, a twenty nine year old former C.I.A. technical assistant, has
disclosed information concerning the National Security Agency programs and their
surveillance practices. It has been revealed that the FBI and NSA are allowed to spy
on hundreds of millions of innocent Americans, that the NSA can keep information
on a U.S. citizen for up to five years without a warrant, and that the NSA watches
and surveils other countries and global leaders clandestinely. Edward Snowden, albeit
he may be considered a criminal for leaking such information, is a more a
whistleblower as he unveiled information about the government and the NSA that is
considered unjustifiable and illegal.

Not only do they invade Americans privacy, but they also target other countries such
as Germany and China. German included that over a dozen bills have been
introduced in congress to narrow the public surveillance authorities and increase
transparency regarding continuing programs. Therefore, it s important to understand
that legal actions are being taken, which illustrates officials consensus with Snowden
and the misconducts shown through his leaks. Edward Snowden informed the nation
on illicit activity within the government, exemplifying his epithet as whistleblower.
From the point of view of people in China or Germany, he would easily be considered
a whistleblower as well.
However, many people, and Toobin in Edward Snowden is No Hero, may say that
Edward Snowden is considered more of a criminal since he participated in the
unauthorized disclosure of classified information, which is a crime that is warned of
repeatedly to any government employee or contractor. Although Snowden did
perform this act, in the given circumstances, he isn t much of a criminal since the
crime he committed ultimately led to the acts of a whistleblower, publicly benefiting
the American citizens and enlightening the ignorant. This is evident as the leaks have
revealed that U.S. military

Some natural hazards can be effected by the actions of humans, the deforestation of
forests in Indonesia is suspected to have contributed to the mudslides their, the
resulting loss of life could be blamed on illegal logging which had occurred. The flood
risk of countries is also increased by the urbanisation of land, the concrete and other
impermeable surfaces used mean that water reaches rivers faster which can cause the

The Importance Of Poverty And Eviction
Poverty and eviction is not only an individual dilemma but also a community
problem. An eviction in one neighborhood has the potential to disrupt multiple
neighborhoods, creating disorganization among the entire community. A community
is supposed to be a symbol of stability and public expansion. However, in Evicted
impoverished communities represented disorganization, lack of stability, and
stagnant public expansion. Many of the individuals in the study did not rely on their
communities or city programs to assist them because they knew they were
inconsistent. Outreach programs and schools typically provide community support
but when communities are in poorer neighborhoods that do not do well economically
finding finances and volunteers making running the programs difficult. Instead of
relying on community support, people relied on their own families or themselves.
Issues occurred when individuals tried to assist each other while neither of them had
the means financially or emotionally to support others. Because of lack of
organization and support, many people felt distrust towards social institutions in the
community (Desmond, 2016). As stated before, communities within cities tend to be
segregated by race and economics. Settlement patterns tend to show that people prefer
settling with others that display similar outward traits, usually physical characteristics
that can be recognized at first glance. Here, race again plays an important role in
community poverty. Many communities create disadvantages for minorities based on
the population and location. In the study, a white woman, her children, and her
partner are evicted from the predominantly white trailer park. Upon eviction, the
couple apply to multiple rental agencies and private apartment complexes with little
luck because many property owners do not want the burden of children living in
their complexes. As the couple become desperate, the woman considers finding a
place in the black ghetto community because prices are much cheaper and there are
fewer regulations. However, the partner clearly expresses that by lowering the family
by living in the ghetto, they will forever be social outcast and seen as scum. The
partner would rather be homeless than
My Ambition In Life
Do not take this the wrong way when I say that I do not care what it is you are
trying to achieve. Let me explain. I mean I do not care if your goal is to graduate
high school with a certain GPA, start a clothing line, release your own book, learn
an instrument, master a language, or even if it s getting a certain someone in your
life. Only you have the power to make that dream, goal, and ambition come to life.
Grant Cardone taught me to commit first, and figure the rest out later. Just jump
in! I can t emphasize how many times I ve thought about or talked about doing
something and because that s all I did, I never got anything done. After I
committed to this concept, my goals were slowly becoming more and more
accomplishable. January of 2017 I told myself I wanted to write a book and as
soon as I set my mind to it and opened the document all I can say is: well ... here
you are, reading it. I have a concept that I later turned into a hashtag that most of
my social media followers have seen. #D.L.C. You must DOMINATE Life
COMPLETELY. After finding entrepreneurship and learning that the only limits
are the ones I put on myself, the sky was the limit for me. Taking my life to the
next level did not only become a passion of mine but a duty. I will not settle for
anything I do not deserve and you should not either. Life is going to smack you
around but if you have the mental will power and the foundation to set you back
on course, you will watch your dreams travel from your imagination and into your
life. Your wishes get checked off your list and you begin to rinse and repeat the
cycle I told you about earlier. Set Goals and Hit them. Rinse and Repeat, Rinse and
Repeat. Self development is my biggest passion and having a good life for myself,
my parents, my extended family, and my own family in the future is personally
one of my big motivations. Success is relative to the observer. I came up with this
statement as I was responding to a friend of mine who messaged me about how he
was lost and wanted to learn more about business and what I was doing because it
caught his interest through my social media platforms. Before sending him a list of
resources I used to get into business I basically told him that I

What is a SWOT Analysis ?
SWOT Analysis is a simple yet extremely useful decision making tool. SWOT is an
acronym for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. It can be used to
assess the current and future situation of the product, brand, company, proposal or
decision. A SWOT Analysis considers both internal factors (the strengths and
weaknesses) and external factors (the opportunities and threats) that are relevant to
the issue or problem under investigation 5. Outline three advantages and two
disadvantages of using a SWOT analysis.
Advantages of SWOT: * Completing a SWOT Analysis can be quite simple and
quick * It can be used for a wide range of decisions, such as how to react to the
threat of a competitor entering the market * SWOT Analysis helps to determine the
organisation s position in the marketplace and therefore aids the formulation of
corporate strategy for its long term survival * The SWOT framework encourages
foresight and proactive thinking, rather than relying on emotional or intuitive feelings
* It can help to reduce the risks of decision making by demanding objective and
logical thinking
Limitations of SWOT: * Critics of SWOT Analysis argue that it is too simplistic and
does not demand detailed

States history. Thousands of people lost everything they had and were stranded for
days. There is an ongoing debate whether the government did enough for the people
affected, or if they were too slow to take action? Hurricane Katrina was not only a
natural disaster, but a political one as well. Yes, houses, cars, and families were
destroyed but due to a failure of communication and cooperation in our government,
unnecessary damage was done. After watching the video, The Storm, it seems that

Analysis Of The Book Memoirs Of A Geisha
Memoirs of a Geisha is a beautiful work of meta fiction; where the author
implements an autobiographical approach and fabricates a fictional translator who
is supposedly a friend of the protagonist in the book; Nitta Sayuri a geisha or Geiko
of Kyoto, Japan. Here Golden gives an unusual frame to the storytelling through
the voice of the translator Jacob and how Jacob documents Sayuri s oral narration
about the fascinating life she has had as a Kyoto Geisha. This biographical
approach gives the story yet more believable and also can leave the readers
confused between fantasy and reality. The story is set in a period in Japan; which is

carefully wraps the truth about why Mr Tanaka could only choose being Geisha or a

other helper job at his company. Ultimately, a

The reliability of compensatory health beliefs and the effect it has on alcohol
consumption
Abstract
Aim
The aim of the study was to investigate whether reading government guidelines on
alcohol consumption would affect an individual s intentions to drink within the
guidelines or not. The study is also focused on investigating the reliability of alcohol
specific compensatory health belief scale using test retest and internal consistency
measures.
Introduction
There has been a lot of recent research into compensatory health beliefs, in particular
what activates these beliefs. Compensatory health beliefs are beliefs that a person
activates as compensation after engaging in unhealthy behaviours. An example of this
is someone believing that they can have a piece of cake as they are going to the gym
later. They understand that the cake is unhealthy but try and compensate for that by
doing something healthy to counteract it. This study focuses on compensatory health
beliefs surrounding binge drinking in the UK. Binge drinking has become a serious
problem in the UK, in 2012 13, there were an estimated 1,008,850 admissions related
to alcohol consumption where an alcohol related disease, injury or condition was the
primary reason for hospital admission or a secondary diagnosis. (2014, May 29).

Academic Freedom
Academic freedom in Kenya
Freedom is a basic to education in modern democracies. Freedom in education can
be categorized in the various aspects such as; Freedom of the child, academic
freedom and freedom to read. Mc Garry and Ward, (1966) puts it: A free society
and a free world imply a free educational system and a freedom within the
framework of maximum control. In such a closed society they maintained, freedom
in education may consist of ability to say or do in consequential things. The legal
idea of academic freedom originated in Germany in 1850. The Prussian Constitution
declared that science and its teaching shall be free. In Germany, academic freedom is

to express them freely; in all matters that affects them. In article number 13 on
Freedom of Expression says that the child shall have a right to freedom of
expression in terms of: Freedom to seek, Freedom to receive and Freedom to impart
information and ideas of all kinds either orally or in writing in art and music. But the
exercise of these rights must respect the rights and limitations of others and must

Academic freedom consists in protecting the intellectual independence of professors,
researchers and students in the pursuit of knowledge and the expression of ideas from
interference by legislators or authorities within the institution itself. This implies that
no political, ideological or religious orthodoxy will be imposed on professors and
researchers through the hiring or tenure or termination process, or though any other
administrative means by the academic institution. Nor shall legislatures impose any
such orthodoxy through their control or the university budget. This protection
includes students.

Norton mocks at the story, however, and as soon as possible he makes sure Tommy

The Inverse Power of Praise Essay
The Inverse Power of Praise: Should We Praise Our Children?
Giving praise to our children comes naturally; most of us have done it hundreds of
times without even thinking about it. The phrases: you re so smart or, wow you
did a great job just roll off our tongue. After all who doesn t like to receive
recognition for a job well done? But by praising children, are we setting them up for
failure? Telling our kids they are smart does not keep them from underperforming, but
instead might be causing it. B.F. Skinner s work in operant conditioning showed us
the process in which behavior can be manipulated (Wood, et al, 2008, p. 155), but
Skinner didn t take into account the long term effects of such manipulation. Are we

They tend to adopt lower standards for success and ultimately settle for less as well,
(Cole et al, 1999).
Is there an inverse power of praise? New research suggests that praising your child
can have the opposite effect of its intended purpose (Dweck, 1999). For over a
decade, a researcher named Carol Dweck, has studied the effects of praise on
school aged children from twenty New York schools. Dweck and her research
assistants conducted a series of experiments on over four hundred fifth graders. The
researcher s would pull children from the classroom and have them take a nonverbal
IQ test with puzzles that were easy enough all the children would do well. After the
test the researchers told the children their score and gave them a single line of praise.
Divided into two groups at the beginning, some of the students were praised for their
intelligence with lines like, You must be smart at this. The other students received
praise for their effort You must have worked really hard. Dweck used just a single
line of praise to see how sensitive children were to this form of praise.
For the second round the students were given a choice, one choice was a test more
difficult than the first, the other, was a test just as easy as the first. The majority of
the students praised for their intelligence chose the easy test. Why did this happen?
When we praise children for their intelligence, we tell
What Is A Memorable Moment Essay
Memorable Moment Let us go, please. I yelled.
Ok where do you want to go? Mom asked.
To the Lake, so pack. I said
My mom, my sister Hailey ,and packed. I packed the cooler for the drinks and food.
While I opened the freezer, I saw all of the frost on the ice container and I saw fog
come out of the freezer. As my face got cooled I tried to get the ice container I put
both arms in the freezer and reached and reached. As I kept on reaching I felt all of
the cold air go on my arms all the way down my legs. As I finally picked up the large
white, plastic, ice container I felt all of the frost on the box now on my hands. As I set
the container full of ice on the island. Then I finally lifted up the ice container and
dumped the ice in the cooler I put the container in the freezer. As my mom told me
to watch Hailey while she goes to get soda. I told Hailey to pack whatever she
wants to pack. As Hailey was packing I was sitting there listening to music on my
phone. When I heard my mom pull in into the driveway and into the garage I took
of my headphones and packed the cooler into the enormous trunk. While my sister
was getting buckled into her carseat I got hers stuff and put it in the trunk. My
mom and I got buckled and mom pulled out of the garage and we were on the road in
no time, but before we went to the lake we stopped at Sara s Ice Cream Shop. I got a
large root beer float while my mom got an Icecream cone and so did my sister. 30
minutes later we have arrived at the lake.
As I stepped out of the car I could feel the blazing hot concrete. I ran to the cool
relaxing water. My mom took out the towels and the cooler out of the car and set our
spot up on the smooth, dry, and crunchy sand. As my 2 year old sister got her
princess floaties on I saw a 10 foot cliff jump spot. As I walked up the steep, slippery,
and light green mossy rocks. As I got to the top I got nervous, at that very moment
somebody did a belly flop. While they did the belly flop I saw some pebbles fall of
the 10 foot cliff. As I stepped up to the edge of the 10 foot it looked like a 15 foot
cliff. As I jumped of the cliff I did a cannonball, as I was doing a cannonball I felt all
of the air blowing in my face, I opened my mouth then
Perfection In Hawthorne s The Birth-Mark
There exists no true perfection in the natural world; we are all blemished in some
way, be it physical, or in any other way. The mind of a scientist is focused on
understanding and perfecting a subject that is not completely understood. A scientist
must accept the fact that they will never truly complete their work. The pursuit of
knowledge is never ending, much like the pursuit of perfection. In The Birth Mark ,
Aylmer the deluded scientist changes his focus from his unachievable scientific
work, to the physical appearance of his new bride. Like most scientists, Aylmer
attempts to control the heavens; he strives to have the control of perfection that is
only seen through God himself. His misguided obsession for perfecting his bride

In other words the birthmark represents Georgiana s mortality and human
imperfection. Hawthorne suggests that the deviation from mortal imperfections and
true humanity will inevitably lead to deadly consequences. He also argues that
although there is a general positivity surrounding science, there will always remain
certain things that humans are not privileged to know, and not adept enough to
achieve. The story suggests the inherent hazards of playing God and challenging
nature. Hawthorne utilizes the playing of God to illustrate the major flaw of the
human race and the consequences of foolish
The Characters Of Douglas Stone And Lady Sannox Essay
The Characters of Douglas Stone and Lady Sannox in The Case of Lady Sannox
are of prime importance as Conan Doyle introduces them to the reader before
anything else. The exposition introduces the characters of Lady Sannox and
Douglas Stone describing the Notorious Lady Sannox (p1) in the first sentence of
the exposition indicating that this is an important statement that should provide
the foundations for the reader s interaction with her. Lady Sannox is presented to
the reader as a promiscuous woman who was gracious to most men who wooed
her and to whom Douglas Stone was not the only one (p2). Lady Sannox, who,
until she married Lord Sannox, had previously been just Miss Marion Dawes. In
this previous incarnation she was just an actress, a frivolous profession that was
often thought of as on a par with prostitutes. The affair between Lady Sannox and
Douglas Stone was very well known (p1) by their peers and there was not an
attempt on either side to conceal their relations (p2) showing that they were anything
but discreet about the liaison and hinting at a cruel streak to Lady Sannox nature,
continuing the affair, apparently unconcerned by the effect this may have on her
husband. There is an inference that Lady Sannox may have married more for
money and status than love as, the narrator remarks, when they wed she recieved his
hand, his title and the third of a county (p2) Douglas Stone is presented to the reader
as a remarkable man who was born to be
Health Inequities Of Indigenous People
This assessed the historical context and expressions of health inequities of indigenous
peoples and ethnic and cultural minorities. Literatures have shown that on most
accounts, these groups suffer from hugely disparate health outcomes in comparison to
non indigenous or majority societies. The fundamental cause of healthinequity is the
violation of human rights of minorities and indigenous peoples, and lack of
indigenous inclusive policy to reflect their perceptions of development.
To achieve sustainable health equity, all hands must be on deck, the society needs to
be a health literate society that comprises of health literate public, health literate
health professionals and health literate politicians and policy‐ makers. In order to

Rca s Techniques To Solve Problems In A Team

main types of problem solving are as followed; Rational problem solving RCA;
RCA looks to recognize why the problem started. The reason that it started can be

The Realms Of Life Is Defined As A Lifestyle
Wellness in practice is defined as a lifestyle, in which a person consciously attempts
to balance the realms of their life (Test 1). The realms of life are defined as career,
emotional, environmental, financial, spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual
(Office of Health; Seligman 2011). Personally an individual can benefit their general
wellness through recognizing the choices that affect these realms and understanding
the repercussions of these choices; however, the industries of today s world can also
benefit wellness by providing an environment that promotes healthier choices. In
today s world the ability for a person to live life well is seriously hindered by the

These costs go towards gas for vehicles which are needed to get to and from the
housing options and in maintaining the personal kitchen and bathroom units which
are not available in the old options. This adds an additional financial burden to
students who are already struggling with the costs of the attending the University in
general. In addition to the change to the cost of housing options Clarion also falls
short in the physical wellness. The school only has one real fitness center where
students are able to exercise which is located towards the bottom of the campus. The
recreational center is readily accessible for students whose housing is closest to the
center of campus; however this becomes a problem for the students living in the
suites on Main, Wilkinson, and Nair which are located at the bottom of the hill on the
completely opposite side of the campus. It is simple human nature that the students
are not likely to choose to go too far out of their way to maintain wellness. Students
in these housing options have to go out of their way in simply making the trip; this
is then intensified by the addition of the weather. To fix this the University could add
smaller fitness centers in the basements of each of the dorms. These need only to
include simple free weights which are cheap to buy and require
Free Enterprise Fund Vs. Public Company Accounting...
In the case of Free Enterprise Fund v. Public Company Accounting Oversight Board
They were trying to determine what powers can reside over Public Company
Accounting Oversight Board or also known as the PCAOB. They was disputing the
fact that the President as no control over the board member since they are not
appointed government officials and are not limited by government limitations. They
are in fact in control over by the SEC, which stands for the securities and exchange
commissions. In this court case in which the Petitioner accounting firm which was a
non profit organization wanted to sue the PCAOB because they believe that the
President had not control over the members of the board and threaten the separation
of power law. The Sarbanes Oxley Act, also known as SOX was to put in place to
protect investors from fraud in accounting activities in corporations. The courts ruled
that the separation of powerswas not broken because The President of the United
States can remove member of the SEC, which the SEC controls the PCAOB. The
decision of the case of Free Enterprise Fund v. Public Company Accounting Oversight
Boardwas that the breaking of the separation of power was not broken. This
allowed The decision to be in the favor of the board and it s members. They found
that board can and will be removed if there acts are unconditional. Since the
president has control over the SEC and is allowed to remove whom ever with good

The Heroin Epidemic s Impact On The Nation
Current Solutions The heroin epidemic s impact on this nation has demanded action
to be taken. Currently, the United States is placing an emphasis on stopping doctors
from unnecessarily prescribing opiates such as Vicodin, Percocet, and OxyContin to
patients because it often leads to heroin addiction. Furthermore, the country is
beginning to focus its efforts on harm reduction, which is a set of practical strategies
and ideas aimed at reducing negative consequences associated with [heroin] use
(SouthComm Business Media LLC, 2015, para 12). One form of harm reduction
is giving users clean needles at no cost. Offering help to addicts when they come
for free needles will increase their chances of recovery, and clean needles prevent
the spread of deadly diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis C. SouthComm Business
Media LLC (2015) further notes, ...it costs only a dime for a needle versus
$90,000 for three months of hepatitis c treatments (para 14). Another form of harm
reduction being used to combat heroin is the use of Naloxone, which reverses the
effects of an overdose. Many police officers, medical personnel, family members of
heroin addicts, and heroin addicts themselves carry Naloxone with them in case of
an overdose. Finally, Suboxone treatment is considered as one of the more effective
ways to reduce harm. Suboxone is a drug that blocks the user from getting high and
makes it to where they do not crave the drug (SouthComm Business Media LLC,
2015, para 24). Stopping the

Forrest Gump s Significant Limitations In Intellectual...
According to the website for the American Association on Intellectual and
Developmental Disabilities, IDD is defined as: intellectual disability is a disability
characterized by significant limitations both in intellectual functioning and in
adaptive behavior, which covers a range of everyday social and practical skills.
Furthermore, there are three major criteria for intellectual disability: significant
limitations in intellectual functions, significant limitations in adaptive behavior, and
onset before the age of 18. IDD is not determined by an IQ test; however, it does help
in measuring mental function. A test score below of around 70 or as high as 75
indicates a limitation in intellectual functioning. (http://aaidd.org/intellectual

acceptance into public school. The IQ specification for being diagnosed with IDD
is a score less than 75. Forrest s score was a 75, which put him just under the
average for acceptance. His mother fought for him to go to public school because
she didn t want him to be treated differently. Forrest was also a young child, and
the diagnostic criteria also states that IDD occurs before the age of 18, which was the
case for him. Forrest also had to wear braces on his legs to straighten out his spine.
IDD can also affect various parts of the body, which may have contributed to Forrest
s physical problems as a child. IDD also affects a person s social and practical
Gaucher Disease Research Paper
Gaucher disease is an abnormality fat of storage. It is an increasingly genetic and
very rare disorder that is most common in family members. The people who suffer
the most, have consequences in the lack of of levels of a certain enzyme in the body.
Because of this, a fatty lipid spreads throughout one s human body. This diseaseis also
known to be called lysosomal storage disorder. This type of disorder can cause
symptoms to happen at any time of your life, whether it is childhood or adulthood.

Essay On Energy In Australia
Energy Preliminary Evaluation
The main aim of the energy category is to reduce energy consumption. Currently, the
main source for energy is fossil fuels. During 2011, around 95% of energy used in
Australia came from fossil fuels (BREE (Bureau of Resources and Energy
Economics), 2013), making the energy sector the most important Green House Gases
(GHG) source in the country. Energy used in buildings accounts for around 20% of
the total emissions (ABCB, 2014) therefore, their reduction will make a contribution
in the quest against global climate change.
Figure 1 and 2 illustrates the tertiary education sector energy consumption profile in
Australia: Figure 1: Tertiary Education Buildings Fuel Share 2010 (COAG, 2012)
Figure 2: Tertiary Education Buildings Electricity Consumption 1999 2012. (COAG,
2012)
Energy efficiency and renewable energy sources are some of the important features
that must be integrated to existing and future buildings in order to reduce their
energy consumption and emissions footprint. Energy efficient advances in lighting,
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems (HVAC) constitutes some of the
opportunities for improvement. Australia owns an important access to renewable
energy sources through the entire extension of the country. Solar power and water
heating, wind power and geothermal power are some of the technologies been
implemented to reduce energy consumption and decouple from conventional sources.

Different Cultures, Different Essay
Every society and culture has different ways of interpreting and defining occurrences
by the way their own culture or society functions. A society s culture, consists of
whatever it is one has to know or believe in order to operate in a manner acceptable to
its members (Geertz 242). The rituals, customs, ethics and morals that are attributed
to the cultureshave caused these differences. To understand how the people of one
culture interpret a situation or event, one must evaluate the attributesthat a culture has.
The criteria that an event is based on changes as one culture applies their own ideas
to the given situation. Heroism and violationare two concepts that are easily

What tripped Cohen up, and with him the whole, ancient pattern of social and
economic relationships within which he functioned, was a confusion of tongues.
(Geertz 241)
Geertz explains that the reason for the confusion, and the different interpretations of
the event that took place is a simple misunderstanding that when took place in
clashing cultures with different views, both striving to claim the situation in their
own contexts became a somewhat humorous event. This conflict between cultures
causes a view of a person to change depending on which point of reference they are
being seen from.
In Ernest Hemingway s Indian Camp, the conflict between cultures again cause a
difference of views of the father. The concept of heroism and violation becomes
the issue of conflict. The father or doctor is considered a hero or a violator of the
Indian woman depending on the culture viewing him. From the father s culture, he
is viewed as a hero for his actions at the Indian camp. His actions are viewed as
heroic under the circumstances of his procedure. Because of the culture of the
Indian people, having a white man, an outsider of the tribe, come in and operate on
an Indian woman is viewed as obscene and a violation of the woman not to
Composting In High School
First, I think that we should be composting for area school and all around use. But
some would disagree around having composting in the school. There are different
reasons why we should have those types of things in grade school, middle school

Second, one the thing that I will be talking about in this paragraph will be about how
doing composting would like are lives a lot easy would be you would not have to

MODULE 2, MINI REPORT 2
November 1, 2012GWL Roofing Limited
Overview
GWL Roofing Limited (GWL) manufactures roofing materials, and installs and
services roofs for industrial, commercial, and investment (ICI) properties. GWL s
head office and sole manufacturing facility are located in eastern Quebec. In addition,
GWL has distribution facilities located across eastern Canada and the northeastern
United States. The U.S. location houses the administrative functions of GWL s
wholly owned U.S. subsidiary, GWL Roofing U.S. Limited (GWL US).
Gaston Laroche, who was a roofer by trade, founded GWL in 1963. Gaston s
business philosophy was to offer his customers superior products at premium prices.
Under Gaston s leadership, GWL grew ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, GWL claims that its products are specifically designed to meet the
demands of the harsh winters experienced in Canada and in the northern United
States. As a result, GWL s products tend to be more expensive to manufacture than
those produced by its competitors. GWL s roofs are guaranteed against defects in
materials for a period of 15 years by its warranty program.
GWL markets itself as a provider of roof management solutions. The cost of a roof
over its useful life of about 20 years can be quite substantial for ICI properties.
Maintaining a high quality roof is essential to the value of the property, as well as to
the continuity of the operations housed by the property. However, most maintenance
managers employed to manage ICI properties by property managers, manufacturers,
and other organizations are generalists, and typically don t have extensive
knowledge of roofing problems and proper roofing maintenance procedures. GWL
not only sells the physical roof itself, but also offers its customers worry free roofing
solutions.
In order to meet the growing demand for expertise in roof maintenance, in 1998,
GWL began offering its customers a Roof Management Program with respect to the
roofs that it installs. According to this program, the customer enters into a long term
maintenance and servicing contract with GWL. The customer makes an annual
maintenance payment, and GWL takes care of all matters pertaining to the customer
s roof. The annual

Four Types Of Essays

  • 1. Four Types Of Essays Crafting an essay on the topic "Four Types of Essays" can be both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty lies not only in comprehensively exploring each essay type but also in presenting the information in a clear, engaging, and cohesive manner. To begin with, one must delve into the nuances of narrative, descriptive, expository, and persuasive essays, understanding their distinct characteristics, purposes, and structures. The narrative essay requires the author to narrate a story or personal experience, blending elements of creativity with a coherent plot. Descriptive essays, on the other hand, demand vivid language and sensory details to paint a vivid picture for the reader. Expository essays necessitate a thorough investigation and exposition of a specific topic, relying on factual information and analysis. Finally, persuasive essays call for the writer to convince the audience of a particular viewpoint, employing logical reasoning and compelling arguments. Juggling these diverse essay types within a single composition can be akin to navigating a literary maze. The challenge lies not only in the transition between different writing styles but also in maintaining a consistent voice and tone throughout. Ensuring a seamless flow from one essay type to another requires a careful balancing act, avoiding abrupt shifts that could disrupt the reader's understanding and engagement. Additionally, the research involved in gathering relevant information for each essay type adds another layer of complexity. Thoroughly understanding the nuances of each genre and supporting assertions with credible sources demands time and effort. Striking the right balance between informative content and engaging writing style is crucial to keep the reader's interest sustained. Despite these challenges, writing an essay on the four types of essays can be a valuable exercise in honing one's analytical and communicative skills. It provides an opportunity to showcase versatility in writing styles, demonstrating a command over narrative, descriptive, expository, and persuasive techniques. Moreover, successfully navigating through these challenges can lead to a deeper appreciation for the intricacies of different writing forms. In conclusion, while crafting an essay on the four types of essays poses its challenges, the process offers an enriching experience that hones writing skills and deepens understanding. It is a journey through varied terrains of storytelling, description, exposition, and persuasion, demanding a writer's adeptness in seamlessly transitioning between different literary landscapes. • 2. Reflection And How It Aids Professional Development Within... Their are many demanding professional adjustments when transitioning from student nurse to graduate nurse and the use of refection during this time is said to be a very important tool in guiding the learning process especially in the transition of a student nurse into a graduated registered nurse. It is common in the field of nursing to utilise reflective journalling to critically analyse certain experiences and reflect on how they made them feel and react. This involves looking deeper into a particular experience and deciding what was good, what was bad and what would be a better course of action if they were to re encounter it in the future. The purpose of this essay is to critically analyse the concept of reflection journalling and to find out if it an essential component to nursing practise in the transition from student nurseto graduate registered nurse. Body 1: Positive: The advantage of reflection in nursing This paragraph is about the concept of reflection and how it aids professional development in nursing. To do this, we first have to understand what reflection and reflective practise is. The Nursing and midwifery board of Australia s National competency standards for the registered nurse under the Critical thinking and analysis domain requires the nurse to reflects on own practice to identify professional development needs. This comes under the heading of: Participates in professional development to enhance nursing practice (Nursing and Midwifery Board of
  • 3. Essay on Marriage in the Victorian Age Many people believe that marriage is important in this day and age, but it holds little significance compared to the importance of marriage in the Victorian era. In the Victorian era women were to get married to a man of the same or a better social status, be good wives, and be a mother to her husband s children. Very few marriages started with love, but a womans life is not complete without being married. Over time, the role of married women has evolved a great deal and they now have rights and privileges. John Stuart Millwas one of the great thinkers of the Victorian era, and his essay The Subjection of Women tells how few privileges women had and that they were slaves to their husbands. He also says that women are their own people and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Feminists ought to get a good whipping. Were woman to unsex themselves by claiming equality with men, they would become the most hateful, heathen and disgusting of beings and would surely perish without male protection (Moore). There are many different reasons why women got married in the Victorian era. First and foremost was due to the lack of education. Women were usually uneducated or were taught only basic responsibilities. If a woman had too much education, Victorians thought that it would weaken their womb and deform their bodies (Moore). From early childhood, girls were taught that they should get married and have children when they get older (Hamilton). The little education that women got was received mostly at home. There were some boarding schools, but there was no university for women to attend. The studies that a girl would learn were French, drawing, dancing, music, and how to use globes. If the boarding school was interested in teaching any practical skills, girls would learn plain sewing as well as embroidery, and accounts. Through knowledge and education a woman could have had a better sense of self worth and pride. On the contrary, boys were well educated at home by a tutor until they were old enough to attend public
  • 4. Cotton Gin Impact On Slavery After reviewing the information given it was brought to my attention how little I was taught about the cotton gin. Something I learned while watching the video provided was that the need for slaves became greater after the cotton gin was created. It only makes since, if the cotton was being cleaned as fast as it would equal to one hundred people, you would need more hands on deck to handle the freshly pulled, and clean cotton. To hear the impact that the cotton gin had on slaverytruly shocked me. While at first it wasn t clear to me why the cotton gin would have had an impact. Before doing research I thought it was a relief to the slaves, they finally had a machine that would allow them to take a step back and not work as hard. I was clearly
  • 5. Compare And Contrast Eisenhower And Truman During presidencies, Eisenhower and Truman both struggles on how they would end the cold war around the globe. They had high expectations on how they would prevent the war in crippled Europe using America s foreign policy. Harry S. Truman a democrat served in the senates, in 1934 he became a Vice, president. He later succeeded President Franklin Roosevelt 1945, after his death as the 33rd President of the United Sates. On the other hand, Dwight Eisenhower was a modern Republican. A former commander of the Allied Forces in Western Europe during the Word War II. In 1956, Eisenhower was the 34th President of the United States. Both men faced challenges in handling the war and economic crisis and foreign affairs during the period. Some of their
  • 6. Summary Of Their Walk Therefore, when Catherine speaks to Henry about novel on their walk, she thinks base off John Thorpe s saying, that Henry don t read novels and because is not clever enough for them and gentlemen read better books (Austen, Chapter 14). After Henry clarifies he likes the book, Catherine changed her thought and expressed this, I am very glad to hear it indeed, and now I shall never be ashamed of liking Udolpho myself. But I really thought before, young men despised novels amazingly. (Austen, Chapter 14). These details from the noveldescribed the process of how Catherine changed her thought about novels after John and Henry. This supports that Catherine formulates her opinions based off John s and Henry s opinions. All of these are some examples that support Catherine s reliance of judgement from other people in her life. From Catherine s interest in fable since young and not fond of reality stories and writing, Catherine s sense of reality is interpreted with books. It harmed her by causing a mix understanding between novels and reality. Because of this and lack of journaling to reflect her life, she gets stuck in the novels she reads and depends on other people to form her judgements. Eleanor Tilney is Henry Tilney s younger sister. Although Jane Austendid not specifically stated that she has but from the way Henry knows so detail of what women need to record in their journal and Catherine s thought showed that she might also be keeping a journal. According to
  • 7. The Ethics Of The Clinical Trials In recent years, the number of clinical trials increased significantly. With an increasing number of clinical trials, the ethical issues related to clinical trials have also increased. Furthermore, the ethics of the clinical trials were violated on several occasions in last few decades. Nazi experiments with World War II initiated the world leaders to implement a code of conduct that protects the autonomy of the clinical trial subjects. Therefore, the Nuremberg Code was initiated in the year of 1949. However, this Code failed to protect the human subjects in clinical trials. Tuskegee syphilis trial was one of the few incidents that were exposed in front of the entire country. The regulatory agencies and the government then realized that there should be better regulations to protect the human subjects in the clinical trials. A series of codes and regulations were established to protect the subjects in the clinical trial after the Tuskegee incident. The Belmont report (1979), International Conference on Harmonization guideline for Good Clinical Practice (1996), the Declaration of Helsinki (2000), and CIOMS International Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical Research Involving Human Subjects (2002) are the main guidelines in recent years. There are also federal regulations to protect human subjects in the clinical trials. They are USCFR Title21 Part 50, 56 (Protection of Human Subjects and Institutional Review Boards, 1991), and USCFR Title 46 (The Common Rule, 1981). These federal
  • 8. The Argument Against Burning The American Flag The citizens of this great nation, The United States of America, should uphold, have respect, have gratitude, and have honor when it comes to dealing this great nation s beautiful flag. The people of this great nation who decide to set fire to Old Glory could face some major consequences. Some of these consequences may come in a variety of forms, such as fire hazards, riots, and sometimes even death. One of the main arguments against burning our great nation s flag is that the people who have fought for the American flag and all that it stands for, tend to feel disrespected. The article Flag Burning Amendment states that Burning the nation s flag shows disrespect to America . It provokes feelings of anger and disgust. But punishing citizens for using their personal property to express their personal views violates the very ideas that animate our constitution with meaning . Furthermore there are some people that believe the American flag should not be considered someone s personal property, but perhaps it should considered as the government s property instead. It should be held in high regard like some people s bibles or other religious items. The American flag should also be considered a very sacred item. Obviously flag burning is a fire hazard that can have a very harmful outcome to the environment and all of its surroundings. Another argument that is stated in the E.M.S.A. says Many materials in clothing can burn (E.M.S.A). Consider the
  • 9. The Energy Of Fossil Fuels The capability to yoke energy sources and put them toward dynamic use has engaged a vital role in economic development globally. The industrial revolution in Europe was motivated in share by the usage of coal to power steam engines for water and rail transportation, to simplify iron casting, and to power looms and other industrial gear (Michael Roberts, 67). Prolonged use of effortlessly available oil aided to fuel nonstop expansion in the twentieth century. Agricultural assembly was converted by the use of motor powered farm gear and petroleumbased fertilizers and pesticides. Trucks, airplanes and cars powered by oil products transformed the transportation of goods and people. Electricity, mainly powered by coal and to a smaller degree oil and natural gas, funded to the additional automation of engineering and made possible the expansion of abundant electricity powered technologies (Michael Roberts, 75). Although fossil fuels have aided incentive economic development, the fast consumption of fossil fuels has also added to environmental damage, and could end up with higher prices in the future. The drilling, mining and transportation of fossil fuels can lead to the elimination of mountaintops, the pollution of ground water with methane, and oil spills that plunder beaches and oceans. The burning of fossil fuels can release chemicals that add to acid rain, smog and mercury contamination. These instantaneous environmental costs also go along with two prominent worries about

  • 13. Examples Of Archetype In The Wizard Of Oz The Wizard of Oz Archetypes Everyone is unique in their own way but we are all placed under a general characterization or archetype. In the movie, The Wizard of Oz, each character is placed under a specific archetype. For example Dorothy is the maiden, Glinda the good witch of the north is the mother, the wicked witch of the west is the villain, the lion is the child, and the tin man is the father. Each character has a certain type of personality that makes them a certain archetype. Dorothy, the main character, is the maiden because she is a very innocent and pure person. She s very worrisome when she says, Toto, I ve got a feeling we re not in Kansas anymore. Dorothy expresses worry when she says this because she doesn t know where she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She s the villain because she opposes anything that Glinda, Dorothy and her friends do. She desperately wants her sister s slippers back that Dorothy wears during the movie and will do anything to try and get them. The wicked witch of the west said, I ll get you my pretty and your little dog too! This shows that the witch is the villain because she told Dorothy that she s going after her and will get her slippers at some point in the movie. The witch follows Dorothy and her friends throughout their journey down the yellow brick road, she taunts them their whole way to see the wizard. The witch is the villain because she truly opposes everything that Dorothy does and wants to keep her from going home to Kansas with her sister s slippers. The archetype, child, is the cowardly lion. The lion is very childish and longs for help from others. The lion said, I do believe in spooks. I do believe in spooks. I do. I do. I do. I do. The lion is very timid towards others and is very scared of almost everything around him. Several key identifying concepts of this therapy are to solve client problems, achieve familygoals, change individual dysfunctional and problematic behaviors. Goals and Interventions The Goals and interventions of the Strategic family therapy will apply to Ana s case because the primarily goals of therapy are to change family dynamics to eliminate or reduce risk taking behaviors. For example, this therapy may bring Ana unconscious thoughts to the conscious level, if she allows the counselor to explore her communication with her family and husband. Ana will experience this though several interventions of the therapy, such as reframing and restructuring. Ana will also experience this through problem solving patterns and her transition into being a mother. Theory Duration: The strategic family therapy can be done in 8 to 24 sessions. Edward Gordon Craig Uber Marionettes Edward Gordon Craig, a prominent English set designer and theorist from 1900, designed sets and created modernist theories which greatly influenced modern theatre. Regarded as one of his most controversial essays on theatrical discourse, The Actor and the Гњber marionette rendered Edward Gordon Craig s critique on modern theatre . Although he appreciates actors and their work to a certain degree, Craig advocates for the complete removal of actors from theatre and warns actors of their misconceptions of actingas art form, providing the guidelines on what it means to be an artist in his eyes. Denouncing actors entirely for their emotional and human weaknesses, Craig hopes to turn to a developing alternative at the time as their replacements, large scale puppets uber marionettes whose purposeful movements, controlled emotional state, and crafted image work together to create a deliberate impassioned performance. Despite sharing similarities with Craig s uber marionettes and embodying some aspects of his philosophy, the Muppets ultimately differ in the respect that they retain and emphasize a human element from humans acting with and through a puppet. As mentioned above, Craig holds the notion that these puppets or uber marionettes will bring about a revival in modern theatre. This revival has to do with the reforming of the governing laws of theatre and acting as an art. In his essay, Craig interprets art as the desired expression of an artist s thoughts, emotions,

Such activities include physical supply, operations planning and control, and physical distribution. Other terms sometimes used in this area are business logistics and supply chain management. Often, the emphasis in business logistics is on transportation and distribution systems with little concern for what occurs in the factory. Whereas some chapters in this text are devoted to transportation and distribution, emphasis is placed on operations planning and control. Distribution and operations are managed by planning and controlling the flow of materials through them and by using the system s resources to achieve a desired customer service level. These activities are the responsibility of materials management and affect every department in a manufacturing business. If the materials management system is not well designed and managed, the distribution and manufacturing system will be less effective and more costly. Anyone working in manufacturing or distribution should have a good basic understanding of the factors influencing materials flow. This text aims to provide that understanding. APICS

High Ratio Shortening These are soft shortenings that spread easily throughout a batter and quickly coat the particles of sugar and flour. The are call high ratio because they were devised for use in cake batter that contain a high ratio of sugar and liquid to flour. They also contain added emulsifying agents, so they can hold a larger quantity of liquid and sugar than regular shortenings. Which gives a smoother and finer texture to cake and make them moister. Commonly referred to as emulsifying shortening. High ratio shortening does not cream well. When a recipe calls for creaming shortening and sugar, regular shortening should be used. High ratio shortening is often used in icings because it can hold more sugar and liquid without curdling. It is more temperature stable and will hold air better upon whipping, improving volume and stability.

For instance, there is the Trebuchet, there are the battlements (Merlins and Embrasures), the catapults, and much more! I ll be telling you how these warfare techniques have changed the construction of the castles!! The first thing I will be telling you about is the Trebuchet, A trebuchet is a catapult like engine which uses a swinging arm to throw a projectile at the enemy. It is used to throw rocks (Boulders), dead animals and humans, fireballs, and much more things. Trebuchets were apart of the attacking defending team of the castles. This means that this would cost money because the people in the castle would need to get supplies. The reason the Trebuchets influenced castle construction is that when the people of the castle new that the enemies would have the trebuchets they would need to build higher walls so when things start to fly at the castle they would want to have something that would block the flying obstacles. ... • 27. The Importance Of Poverty And Eviction Poverty and eviction is not only an individual dilemma but also a community problem. An eviction in one neighborhood has the potential to disrupt multiple neighborhoods, creating disorganization among the entire community. A community is supposed to be a symbol of stability and public expansion. However, in Evicted impoverished communities represented disorganization, lack of stability, and stagnant public expansion. Many of the individuals in the study did not rely on their communities or city programs to assist them because they knew they were inconsistent. Outreach programs and schools typically provide community support but when communities are in poorer neighborhoods that do not do well economically finding finances and volunteers making running the programs difficult. Instead of relying on community support, people relied on their own families or themselves. Issues occurred when individuals tried to assist each other while neither of them had the means financially or emotionally to support others. Because of lack of organization and support, many people felt distrust towards social institutions in the community (Desmond, 2016). As stated before, communities within cities tend to be segregated by race and economics. Settlement patterns tend to show that people prefer settling with others that display similar outward traits, usually physical characteristics that can be recognized at first glance. Here, race again plays an important role in community poverty. Many communities create disadvantages for minorities based on the population and location. In the study, a white woman, her children, and her partner are evicted from the predominantly white trailer park. Upon eviction, the couple apply to multiple rental agencies and private apartment complexes with little luck because many property owners do not want the burden of children living in their complexes. As the couple become desperate, the woman considers finding a place in the black ghetto community because prices are much cheaper and there are fewer regulations. However, the partner clearly expresses that by lowering the family by living in the ghetto, they will forever be social outcast and seen as scum. The partner would rather be homeless than

Is there an inverse power of praise? New research suggests that praising your child can have the opposite effect of its intended purpose (Dweck, 1999). For over a decade, a researcher named Carol Dweck, has studied the effects of praise on school aged children from twenty New York schools. Dweck and her research assistants conducted a series of experiments on over four hundred fifth graders. The researcher s would pull children from the classroom and have them take a nonverbal IQ test with puzzles that were easy enough all the children would do well. After the test the researchers told the children their score and gave them a single line of praise. The other students received praise for their effort You must have worked really hard. Dweck used just a single line of praise to see how sensitive children were to this form of praise. For the second round the students were given a choice, one choice was a test more difficult than the first, the other, was a test just as easy as the first. The majority of the students praised for their intelligence chose the easy test. Why did this happen? When we praise children for their intelligence, we tell
