income from the colonies but to bail out the struggling East India Company, which was a key factor in

Following natural disasters sexual assault increases in affected areas. Some victims of these storms are
sent to shelters with little security and are put with untrustworthy people. At some of these shelters
women and men are not separated from each other. Even young girls are forced to set up their beds
next to strange men. Many people, male and female, are raped or molested in these unsupervised
areas. Most incidents go unreported due to the busy law enforcement (Blanch). Women are even more

Puerto Rico has been suffering the most from crime and looting after recent storms. After Hurricane

demonstration of workers building a memorial to Stalin in Stalinallee.
Their protest against the increased work norms, the lack of consumer goods, high price of food and
low pension provisions took them to the Trade Union Head Quarters where they were swiftly joined
by others.

Ulbricht, the current Head of State for the GDR. Walter, do you believe that the way in which East

Ulbricht: Violence was a necessary force at the time of the uprising. The mental pollution that had
been seeping in from the West was too toxic to not take severe action. We had to turn to the Soviet
Union for military support. In total, around 16 Soviet divisions with 20,000 soldiers as well as 8,000
Kasernierte Volkspolizei members were used to stop the Uprising and show the people of East
Germany that they had no reason to be so disheartened by the government, despite the attempts by
western agencies to disrupt the national stability and legitimacy of the SED.
It was clear that the increasing influence the West was bringing to our people needed to stop and we
therefore had to ensure that the public understood the seriousness of going against the successful

Factors Affecting The Biodiversity Of The Lake
Many lakes across the globe are home to a wide variety of organisms, which are supported by both the
lakes themselves and by the abundance of varying habitats surrounding them. Lake Naivasha (0°45 N,
36°20 E) is one such lake: Situated within the rift valley, Lake Naivasha is a freshwater home to an
abundance of both native and alien flora and fauna, both aquatic and terrestrial (Otiang a Owiti Oswe,
2007). The lake has 3 main surface inflows; from the Malewa, Gilgil and Karati rivers, but is an
endorheic lake (Otiang a Owiti Oswe, 2007); so is a closed hydrological system on the surface (Figure
1). Nevertheless, it is thought that water from the lake does move southward underground, through
volcanic rocks (Clarke et al., 1990, Ojiambo et al., 2001). There are various factors that contribute to
the biodiversity of the lake; however one the most predominant factors is the impact that the steep
increase in Naivasha s population has had on the lake. 70% of Kenya s horticultural output is
produced in the Lake Naivasha area (Otiang a Owiti Oswe, 2007), which makes it an area of extreme
national economic importance. Due to this thriving industry, the lake s population has risen from an
estimated 7,000 in the 1969, to approximately 300,000 in 2007 (Ouma Oloo, 2007). This rapid
population growth has had effects on many components of the ecosystem, including changes in lake

knowing, all seeing, and all powerful being.
I believe that that the Cosmological argument gives good reason to believe in the existence of God.
The Cosmological argument focuses on everything having a cause except one thing that started it all,
this starter is known as the Prime Mover . The Prime Mover is the one that starts everything without
anything having a previous effect on it. With that people have assumed that the logical answer to who
the prime mover is, is God. This to me seems the most logical of arguments because although there is
the idea of eternity and an eternal cycle there has to be a starting point. I do not believe the argument
is successful.
The reason that the argument does not succeed is because what proof is there that the prime mover is
an all powerful all mighty being? There could be alternate reasons related to science, The Big Bang
Theory, which could also be a reason. One of Aquinas s arguments against the cosmological argument
discussed that since everything in nature had a time where it did not exist there had to be a time where
it was nothing to bring anything into being. His argument was if this was possible there was nothing
around to bring the universe into being in the first place. Due to this a being such as God is not likely
